Transcript
- 0:00Hello there, it's time for Most Things Kenobi.
- 0:03Shouldn't it be all Things Kenobi?
- 0:18Hi everyone. Welcome to another episode of
- 0:21Most Things Kenobi, a podcast about Obi Wan Kenobi and all
- 0:24things Star Wars. I'm your host, Lauren.
- 0:27And I'm your host, Leanne. And I have to say, every word
- 0:31that just came out of my mouth felt like I said them all
- 0:33backwards. Really.
- 0:36My God, you didn't. OK, good.
- 0:38I can confirm you did not I. Felt like I was chewing gum
- 0:41while I was talking and I was terrible.
- 0:44One of those days, huh? Yeah.
- 0:47And this week we are talking about little things and big
- 0:53things, but just special things about special things when
- 0:56Kenobi, all the little things that make us love him and that
- 1:00have kind of stood out to us as interesting or maybe funny or I
- 1:06don't know, just little details. Because, I mean, we've dissected
- 1:10the real, real big things. It's true.
- 1:13These a subtle man with subtleties that are lovely.
- 1:17And maybe maybe they're not so subtle after all, you know?
- 1:20Maybe these actually end up being big things in the end, you
- 1:24know? And some of these things I'd be
- 1:26curious to know what the choices were behind them, either by the
- 1:30the actor or the animators, why they chose to do certain things.
- 1:34Yeah, true, true. So neither of us have prepared a
- 1:40list. We're just kind of like winging
- 1:42this, which is fine because we can talk.
- 1:45This is a test in how well we know him.
- 1:50I mean truly. Seriously, let's see if we can
- 1:53do it. I'm honestly we are on episode
- 1:56155 of an Obi Wan Kenobi podcast.
- 1:58I think we could do it. Yeah, I think we can.
- 2:03Well, like, obviously, I think the first thing that comes to
- 2:07mind for me is the hair, the little piece of hair.
- 2:10Yes, yeah, especially, I mean in Clone Wars, right, the little
- 2:14dangling forehead piece that seems to always respond to the
- 2:18wind, the slightest breeze. Honestly, I so want to know who
- 2:23wanted to go from like solid plastic, kind of like action
- 2:27figure, yeah, to making a few pieces move, not even all of it,
- 2:35just like one little eyebrow piece.
- 2:39I don't know. Well, I'm trying.
- 2:40I'm trying to think this like Anna can even have that and I
- 2:43don't think he does. Like in season seven, he kind of
- 2:47gets some pieces that move, but. But it's, I think it's an odd
- 2:54little detail that it adds quite a bit of something to him
- 3:00because he's so, he's so like tight, he's so put together.
- 3:04And the one little dangly hair over his forehead suggests that
- 3:08he might not always be well put together.
- 3:11Quaffed, if you will. Yeah, and like, he kind of leans
- 3:16into it a bit like likes, it's like a little bit of rogue
- 3:20roguish hair. Yeah, which I I really Love
- 3:23Actually. If you, if you think of that
- 3:27hair from Clone Wars and then you think about the Kenobi
- 3:31series, 'cause his hair is real. Like obviously it's post Clone
- 3:37Wars 'cause it's post Revenge of the Sith, but it's like, I can
- 3:43see it more because it's longer, it's a little more unkempt.
- 3:45We get we get moments where we actually see a hair out of place
- 3:50in the live action series, so it becomes more believable for an
- 3:54animated piece as well. I mean, they're trying to
- 3:58animate Ewan McGregor's marvelous hair.
- 4:00I mean. Yeah.
- 4:02Mission accomplished. Mission accomplished.
- 4:05But why? It's like your question, What
- 4:07made them think of this? What made them choose this?
- 4:09And it was halfway through the season.
- 4:11It was season three, I think is when it.
- 4:13I think it's introduced and I really noticed it in the Citadel
- 4:17arc because, which makes sense because they're climbing up that
- 4:21rock face. And the hair is its own
- 4:23character. Yeah, the hair well and the lack
- 4:27of nostrils because he he doesn't have any nostrils, which
- 4:31I love, but it's it gives it lends to the fact that it
- 4:35they're high up because there's wind right And yes, that's the
- 4:39point. But the rogue hair then becomes
- 4:42like its own side character. He like.
- 4:46Pops up over the the platform and it's it's very prevalent.
- 4:50Yeah, yeah. And I think that was kind of
- 4:54when I became aware that he had different clothes too, because
- 4:57he was wearing less and less armor.
- 4:59And I at first it didn't like click with me.
- 5:02And then I was like, wait, they all look different.
- 5:06Yeah, this is when they start wearing their like robes as
- 5:10opposed to their the arm and shoulder plates and things.
- 5:14And practically speaking, I guess it's because their
- 5:18animation technology got better because they said before that
- 5:23it's very hard to render fabric. So the armor was easier to
- 5:30animate and it's wearing cloaks was actually very difficult for
- 5:33them to render because it would move constantly.
- 5:35And I guess that got easier to do as they went on because
- 5:38eventually like the under on episode, they were in cloaks
- 5:42like the entire time. Interesting, I never thought of
- 5:46it like that, but now that you've say that the ends do
- 5:50flutter and they make it work in the later, I mean, I mean they
- 5:53made it flawless. It's funny to think that they
- 5:55couldn't do it at first. I wonder if that's why the hair
- 5:58if they decided to add motion to his hair.
- 6:00Oh. Maybe they're like, you know
- 6:03what, we're experimenting, let's do it with a piece of hair.
- 6:06I don't know. Well, I'm here for it because
- 6:09when Opie one says in Revenge of the Sith, another happy landing
- 6:13and he like pushes his hair out of his face.
- 6:16Yes, one of my favorite moments. So now they kind of like took
- 6:19the spirit of that, just put it into Clone Wars.
- 6:24One little detail, and this goes back to Clone Wars as well, that
- 6:31I think they added it and it was an excellent choice, is his
- 6:35casual knowledge of speaking Ryloth or whatever their
- 6:40language is. He casually, just like whips it
- 6:44out and speaks to what's what's the little girl's name?
- 6:47Numa. Numa.
- 6:49Yes, yeah, yeah. And it speaks to how he can
- 6:54level with just about anyone he can connect.
- 6:58What other hidden languages does he have that he just knows you
- 7:02know and bust out whenever it's necessary?
- 7:05Yeah, I feel like he knows hotties a bit as well.
- 7:09Like I know that there was a translator Droid when he was
- 7:12with Quinlan, but I feel like they both kind of understood
- 7:16what was being said anyway. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:20Yeah, I think that's the secret. It's just like dropped in there
- 7:23with no explanation and I love that.
- 7:25Yeah, it's very, it's very casually, like just, oh, he
- 7:30knows her language. How does he know?
- 7:34You know your brain is spinning while the scene's taking place.
- 7:37Or at least mine was. It's not just understand, he
- 7:39speaks it to her. Yeah, yeah, and connects with
- 7:43her, which means that there's an emotional level that it's not.
- 7:46You're not just like regurgitating words that you
- 7:48think go together. He's literally speaking to her
- 7:51and it's, it really works. It works 'cause he's.
- 7:55Where did he learn it? I don't know why is he so good
- 7:58with kids? I don't know, because that's, I
- 8:03kind of love that about the Kenobi series, that he's really
- 8:06bad with Leia at first. It, I think there's an
- 8:10awkwardness there because he knows so much about her.
- 8:15It, the whole thing, her parents, the history with Numa,
- 8:20she's just kind of like a little kid and he can block her eyes or
- 8:24what is it her ears or whatever? It's her eyes.
- 8:27Yeah, yeah. You know, it's just a a kid that
- 8:30he has to protect. But Leia, there's like a lot of
- 8:33depth there. There's a lot of there's a lot
- 8:35of history. I.
- 8:36Know and he like he snaps at her or he even is kind of
- 8:40unsympathetic at first and he slowly becomes more and more
- 8:44kind and sympathetic to her. I think he notices once that he
- 8:48is kind of rude to her and after that he's he tries he's like so
- 8:52what's your droids name? Yeah, it's like.
- 8:55You were already mean. Too late.
- 8:59He was. He was also cut off from the
- 9:01forest and trying not to form any kind of attachment after
- 9:04everything that happened, like any kind of.
- 9:07So I'll blame it on that. That's a good point.
- 9:09I have always wanted I like, I want to see, but I don't I don't
- 9:13want Star Wars to show me this really.
- 9:16But what what he was, what he was like with Anakin when they
- 9:19first started trading together because.
- 9:23That was probably awkward too. Yeah, I imagine there was like a
- 9:26learning curve there and he might not have been so good at
- 9:29it at first. And but I also don't want them
- 9:32to fill in the gaps there. I'd rather just do that myself.
- 9:37Yeah, yeah, it's true. Because I don't want to see how
- 9:40Anakin was with him in reverse either.
- 9:42Like what if he was a little bastard or maybe he was super
- 9:45doting, you know? I don't know.
- 9:47It could could be either way. And that could be hard working
- 9:50in its own, yeah, its own way. Truly, truly.
- 9:57Well, something I've always loved, and again, they never
- 10:01explain it. It's it's pretty much, I think
- 10:03it's just a Clone Wars thing. I don't think it was in live
- 10:06action, but the way we went backhands with his lightsaber.
- 10:12Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, like a.
- 10:14Laser bolt and he's running away from Grievous and he just bats
- 10:17it away and he does it again somewhere else.
- 10:19Where is it? I would think it's when, Oh
- 10:23gosh, it's not revenge. It's the episode after that with
- 10:26Maul. Oh.
- 10:28Revival. Oh yeah, maybe.
- 10:30Is that? What?
- 10:30It's called God. I can't.
- 10:31Believe Revenge is the last episode of that season, and then
- 10:34it's the next one is the first episode of The Following.
- 10:37Exactly. So it's that first episode he's
- 10:39out with Adiya Gallia. Adiya Galli.
- 10:41Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:42Interesting. Her name wrong.
- 10:44She dies. Yeah, it's rough, but he's
- 10:47running back into Hondo's lair and again, he like backhands.
- 10:52Yeah, I think that's really. I love that move.
- 10:55I don't know, I. Do too, because again, he's
- 10:58always so like uptight and perfect and that is so like
- 11:03something a kid would do and it's like.
- 11:05Swatting, swatting a family. Like get away like I just did.
- 11:08There's a gnat in here. I just did it.
- 11:15But it's like it's fun and it's kind of playful and it's like
- 11:19really a little bit, you might say it was arrogant because he
- 11:23just knows he's going to get it without effort.
- 11:26And I kind of love that because he it's like a little insight
- 11:31into how he knows he's really good.
- 11:34Yeah, it is it it's it's kind of.
- 11:37I would like to know. I stutter so much when I talk
- 11:40because I have 1800 thoughts at once and they're all fighting to
- 11:44come out at once. But I would like to know how a
- 11:49Jedi senses a laser blast coming at them.
- 11:53Now I've read it through numerous Star Wars media and
- 11:57everyone has a slightly different way of describing it
- 12:01which I like, but I wonder what it.
- 12:04I know it's all fake, but I wonder what it actually feels
- 12:07like like. Yeah, I've heard they can draw
- 12:11them to them so that they can reflective hit it away
- 12:15accurately, more accurately. That seems chancy.
- 12:18That seems really risky. You'd have to be really good.
- 12:22That what are the other explanations?
- 12:24Do you remember any of them well?
- 12:25The one that is that stands out to me, I think Matthew Stover
- 12:28wrote about it in in his in his book.
- 12:30But the one that I'm thinking of now, I'm not going to remember
- 12:34it quote for quote 'cause I read this book a number of years ago.
- 12:37But it's the Thrawn alliances with where he meets Anakin and
- 12:42they go to whatever planet. I can't remember now but I
- 12:48remember Anakin describing like blaster bolts coming at him and
- 12:55he like his back was turned to one and he sensed like a heat
- 12:58coming towards him and he turned and deflected like a like a a
- 13:03menacing heat or something. That's interesting.
- 13:07I think I'm describing that. If I'm misremembering and
- 13:11somebody knows, please correct me, but I remember it being that
- 13:15description was the most interesting to me because it's
- 13:19also through Anakin's point of view, so I wonder if he
- 13:22interprets it differently than, say, Obi Wan would.
- 13:25You know, maybe Anakin makes it personal.
- 13:28He seems like he would make it personal.
- 13:31He can't help it. Just a hunch, but you know.
- 13:35The way he is, you know, can't not take it personally.
- 13:40But are you sensing the person shooting at you or are you
- 13:43sensing the thing being shot at you?
- 13:45That's, I don't know, I'm overcomplicating it, But I do
- 13:48wonder if there's subtleties there that, you know, any Jedi
- 13:51out there who have an explanation, let me know.
- 13:53But it's just, it's one of those things that's always fascinating
- 13:58me. Like how do they know to turn
- 13:59around at that exact moment? Yeah, I'm for Obi Wan to be able
- 14:03to do it without even looking. I mean, it has to be through the
- 14:06Force somehow, one way or another, right?
- 14:09Like. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:11OK. So I'm going to embarrass myself
- 14:13by asking this question. OK, there's no embarrassing
- 14:16questions. It's fine.
- 14:17You know the Obi Wan. The point?
- 14:20Yes, the. The double, is that a him thing
- 14:25or is it that discipline? Is that part of his mastery of
- 14:31what is it Serosu? Is that what he's?
- 14:33Serasu, I think it's. Serasu.
- 14:36I don't know, that's a really good question.
- 14:40I think, I think it's based on there is some stuff in and I'm
- 14:50no expert by any means. So if I'm talking out of my ass,
- 14:53forgive me. But in like martial arts,
- 14:57sometimes you point your and you could see Ray Park does this all
- 15:02the time. Like he when he poses like he'll
- 15:05have his hands certainly. And it's because you conduct
- 15:08energy like through your hands. So like if you see someone do
- 15:13the like board punch, you know, they'll put their fingertips
- 15:16against it first and then punch through it.
- 15:18And it's because you're like focusing your energy into that
- 15:22spot. So I don't know if that's what
- 15:24he's doing. I assume that has to be part of
- 15:28it. It seems like he's it's a it's
- 15:31like an in preparation, lining himself up, directing his energy
- 15:36or or letting it coil within him, ready to pounce almost.
- 15:41Yeah, and he does it two different ways.
- 15:44So there's one where the blade is forward and his arm is back
- 15:46and he's got the two fingers. And then it's the opposite where
- 15:49the two fingers are forward and the blade is back.
- 15:51I don't know the. Difference.
- 15:53Yeah, yeah. I'm no expert, but yeah, that's
- 15:58a great question. So I think it's an I think it's
- 16:01an Obi Wan thing because I've never seen anyone else do it.
- 16:03So we'll leave it at an Obi Wan thing if they.
- 16:06Are doing it, they're just copying him because he looks so
- 16:08cool. 100 percent, 100% stamp of approval on that statement, yes.
- 16:14Yeah, I mean, there's a great it.
- 16:16It came definitely first from at least Revenge of the Sith.
- 16:20I I don't remember at all honestly if he doesn't Attack of
- 16:23the Clones cause I've only watched that movie like once all
- 16:25the way through 'cause it just hurts me.
- 16:28But yeah, I mean. He he looks great in it.
- 16:31I love it. But he that movie is hard.
- 16:33It's hard to get through, but he does when he's fighting
- 16:36Grievous, He does that great. Like over he does, yeah.
- 16:41Yes, it's. Great your.
- 16:45Move. I love all of his interactions
- 16:47with Grievous. They're part chiding, they're
- 16:51part serious, They're part like, I honestly don't have time for
- 16:55this right now. Yeah, You know, it's the you
- 17:00again, that sort of attitude. Exactly.
- 17:03And it's delightful every time. It never fails to entertain.
- 17:08Honestly, if you were to go up against Grievous and you'd never
- 17:14seen him before, or even if you'd seen him from a distance
- 17:16and then you were up close, he would probably scare the shit
- 17:20out of you. Yeah.
- 17:23How he's kind of Lombard over and he's got all those parts and
- 17:26his face is like weird behind the mask.
- 17:29And is it a face is not a face? How are you breathing?
- 17:31Why do you have emphysema? Like why is all of this?
- 17:36Why do you have human eyes? Yeah, why?
- 17:41Why do I somehow connect with you on your level of irritation?
- 17:45Like why does but Obi Wan just seems completely unfazed by any
- 17:50of it. Yeah.
- 17:51And. He also does that with Maul at
- 17:54times too. Yeah.
- 17:56I kind of like. It I think it's definitely a way
- 17:59of disarming somebody who's really arrogant is he's just not
- 18:03impressed. No, and and it cuts deeper.
- 18:08The only level of unimpressiveness that comes
- 18:10close is like Ahsoka's level of I'm not impressed but Obi Wan's
- 18:15cuts the deepest. He even does that with Vader a
- 18:19bit. Yeah, he literally does a
- 18:21shoulder shrug, like, all right, So what?
- 18:25You know, like, I don't know, I just, I love that about him so
- 18:29much. I don't know if that counts as a
- 18:31little thing. I'm just kind of talking about
- 18:34everything I love about him and these are coming out.
- 18:36I think that's it is it's, it's like this confidence that he
- 18:41has, but it also like it's, it's kind of playful.
- 18:45I think it's his, it's definitely his Stark, right?
- 18:47And everybody knows him as the Stark master and.
- 18:51Very true. Examples of it, but I
- 18:54particularly like that though because he's just like talks
- 18:57shit right them all and right to Grievous's face like Grievous in
- 19:02particular and it annoys Grievous every time like he.
- 19:05It really does. And I guess adventurous too, for
- 19:09that matter. Yeah, it's true, that's true.
- 19:13But they they get along quote UN quote get along much better than
- 19:19Obi Wan and Grievous do. That's what makes his death so
- 19:24anti climatic after you see the clone wars because all it took
- 19:31was a blaster shot. Like come on after all that.
- 19:35I don't think, I don't think we'd seen Grievous before in the
- 19:40movies, had we? He's not an Attack on the
- 19:44Clones. I don't think so.
- 19:46It was. It was like this scary monster
- 19:49that. Unless he was a hologram, like a
- 19:52hollow projection. Maybe, but I.
- 19:55Don't, but I don't. I don't think so.
- 19:56It was always dooku so. Yeah, I think he kind of came
- 20:00into power during Clone Wars, so.
- 20:03Yeah, it's kind of like, here's a scary thing to be afraid of
- 20:06for no reason and we're going to kill him off really weirdly anti
- 20:10climactically. And you're right, after Clod
- 20:13Wars it definitely makes it so much less impressive because
- 20:17it's all this build up, right? How many times have they faced
- 20:20off? And that's how he goes out.
- 20:23Yeah. Yeah, so uncivilized.
- 20:26So there you go with the quotes again.
- 20:32It's got the one liners, they're always the best.
- 20:34I don't think anyone has as good one liners as Obi Wan honestly.
- 20:38True, but you you, you drop them at all the most appropriate
- 20:42times and you always catch me off guard.
- 20:44I definitely need a life. No, you don't.
- 20:50This is all I think about. It's a problem.
- 20:53You know what, I just thought of another little thing I really
- 20:57love about Obi Wan. Please please share.
- 21:02He's kind of a softie with animals and creatures.
- 21:05Oh. Yes, I love that too.
- 21:06Yeah. You know that shows his true
- 21:10heart. Yeah, I.
- 21:11Mean he'll kill a bitch if he has to.
- 21:13I mean Allah Attack of the clones.
- 21:15True killed all those animals. Yeah, but you know, he always
- 21:21Pats him and gives him a name or calls him like good girl or a
- 21:24good boy or whatever he says to. And the EOP, he's really
- 21:28friendly, shares his food with it.
- 21:31There's countless little creatures in the Clone Wars that
- 21:33he shows affection towards. He tries to avoid harming them
- 21:39if possible, like the ticks, instead of killing.
- 21:42Yeah, the giant. He like traps them instead but
- 21:47he won't hesitate to kill like he does it.
- 21:50And not in Clone Wars because it's a kid show, but he kills a
- 21:53lot of stuff in in the movies. Yeah, yeah, but he also rides
- 21:58away on that like feather tailed looking lizard dragon thing.
- 22:02Oh yeah, the veractal I think is.
- 22:05Thank you. What it's?
- 22:06Called. Well, he's very kind to it, too.
- 22:09You know, he, yeah, he just has a he just has an affectionate
- 22:13way of dealing or handling with with creatures that I really
- 22:17respect. I think that's mentioned in I
- 22:19think it's Master and apprentice.
- 22:22I'm sorry if I'm remembering the wrong book, but I think there's
- 22:25some animal that he ends up writing in that and he creates
- 22:29an attachment with it in the force.
- 22:32And they kind of imply that he realized that you can like
- 22:36connect with animals that way. And ever since then he was like
- 22:38kind and affectionate to animals 'cause he could like, feel them
- 22:41through the force. But I think that was mastered
- 22:44apprentice. I might be misremembering, but
- 22:46you. Know since I haven't read it,
- 22:49what timeline is that? It's like, how old is he?
- 22:52He's younger. He It's before Phantom Menace
- 22:54and it's before. Oh, OK, I'm pretty.
- 22:58Sure, it's before he goes to Mandalore with Qui Gon.
- 23:01OK, so he discovers this pretty young.
- 23:03OK, I, I reason I was asking is like, I couldn't remember like I
- 23:10I would give him credit for for discovering it sooner than
- 23:13later. So I wasn't sure if it was when
- 23:16where in the timeline. I should really read that book.
- 23:18I know. Listen to it if you don't want
- 23:20to read it. It's it's a nice audio book.
- 23:23It's easy to listen to. I think it's.
- 23:25That's good to know. Jonathan Davies, I think, and he
- 23:28does their both both characters voices very well.
- 23:31He's. Good.
- 23:32Yeah, he's good. Yeah, you know, something that's
- 23:36really weird that I really like. So stupid, but it's true.
- 23:40No, I like the way he sits. Oh my God, I was going to say
- 23:45how he sits. I was going to say this.
- 23:48We're so space twitty. Oh my God, Lauren.
- 23:53OK, you tell me. You tell me what you like about
- 23:57how he sits and I'll see if it's the same what I was going to
- 23:59say. That's.
- 24:01So funny. Because it's so the opposite of
- 24:06how Ewan McGregor sits usually. And he it's like there's I've
- 24:10seen posts on Tumblr where they show Obi Wan sits with the the
- 24:14leg crossed with the knee on the ankle on the opposite knee, or
- 24:18he'll like lean forward onto his knees while he's sitting and
- 24:22like listen to people, which is very like, I don't want to, I
- 24:27don't know the word macho comes to mind, but that's not really
- 24:30the word I mean, but you know what I mean, kind of like.
- 24:32I know, I know what you're trying to say.
- 24:33I don't know what a but. Then like Ewan sits always in
- 24:37every interview with his legs crossed.
- 24:40Like I'm not on to the knee, but like all the way across.
- 24:45Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like that he made that choice
- 24:47to have him sit like that and in a more, I guess maybe a more
- 24:51aggressive stance. I don't know if that's the word
- 24:53either, but I just like it is it seems.
- 24:58I don't know, like I don't know what I would expect.
- 25:00I would expect Anakin to sit that way more, and I kind of
- 25:03like that we wants to know it. I don't know.
- 25:06It's weird, but it's a thing. I know other people have noticed
- 25:10it so. I get it.
- 25:11I picture, I picture Anakin as a knee Tapper, like a knee bobber.
- 25:16He sits with his knee bobbing all the time because he's
- 25:19severely impatient and just get to the point, which is how I am.
- 25:24So that's like how I am in every meeting I've ever been in my
- 25:28entire fucking life. But I completely agree with you.
- 25:32It's like Obi Wan's ready at any moment.
- 25:35He's not casual, he's not resting.
- 25:38He's also just ready. Yeah.
- 25:42All the time. That's what I interpret.
- 25:46He has a very straight back. Yeah, his shoulders are always
- 25:49squared. There's a screenshot I have of
- 25:53them where they all have this perfect yoga posture and I I
- 25:57can't even sit at my desk for 5 minutes like that.
- 26:00Well don't forget when in the clone Wars, and I'm thinking of
- 26:04the the Felucia where they go help the little turtle people.
- 26:08Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
- 26:10And he's sitting at the desk like, like, like, I'm doing it
- 26:15and no one can see it. He's got an elbow on the table,
- 26:19like he's about to make a business deal, but he's alert
- 26:23and listening and discussing and he's just very like, alert and
- 26:28ready. Yeah.
- 26:30I love how he sits. He doesn't.
- 26:32Like relaxed into it. At the same time he has this
- 26:35like active, inactive. I don't know how it's 'cause
- 26:39he'll like even in the council, he'll like put his arms on the
- 26:42armrest and like sit back. Yeah, but he's still very like,
- 26:45yeah, I don't know how to. He's such a conundrum, this man.
- 26:49I know and I love there's one second that they show in the
- 26:53Rayko Hardeen orc when they're doing the intro.
- 26:56You know, they're like corruption in the Senate guy.
- 26:58He's talking and they show Obi Wan and he's like moping kind of
- 27:04he's leaning forward, his elbows are on his knees and he's like,
- 27:08like kind of bowed forward because he's just been assigned
- 27:11the the assignment of becoming Rico Hardeen.
- 27:14And he looks really disappointed, like he doesn't
- 27:17want to do it. And it's such a.
- 27:19Because he's going to fuck everything up with Anakin.
- 27:22He, I think he knows that it's a really dubious assignment where
- 27:27he's also going to walk this moral line.
- 27:28And you could just, it's just a fraction of a second and it's
- 27:32it's not part of a scene we ever get to see like the full scene.
- 27:37Yeah, because I'm not remembering this, so I need to
- 27:39pay attention to that next. Time yeah, you have to go back
- 27:41and watch that and just. I have it frozen as a screenshot
- 27:45somewhere. I could probably track it down,
- 27:47but I've always thought that was kind of interesting because he
- 27:49looks like real sad. He just looks.
- 27:53Like, really? Really mopey and gloomy about it
- 27:55all. Well, think about getting an an
- 27:58assignment you want nothing to do with.
- 28:01Yeah, but he got that a lot. Yeah, by this point in all those
- 28:08seasons. Yeah.
- 28:10He's over it. Yeah, I love that he's really
- 28:15good though at unexpected combat, because he's obviously
- 28:20very good with the lightsaber, but like the Reiko Hardeen
- 28:24thing, he is a really good sniper.
- 28:29Yeah, he's going to. Like, shoot that target that
- 28:32keeps moving. And then this moment makes me
- 28:36laugh. I love it so much.
- 28:38And it's so bizarre. But it's after he's been
- 28:41captured, they're on like, I think it's now had a, I'm not
- 28:44sure. And they're trying to buy a ship
- 28:47And CAD Bane sells him out to like, a local drug Lord or
- 28:54something. I don't know.
- 28:55And they take Rico Harding and he's hanging upside down.
- 28:59They've got him hanging and they're like going to torture
- 29:01him. And Obi Wan gets out of the
- 29:03restraints, grabs a giant post, slams it on the ground and just
- 29:07smacks some Kai in the face with it and like, knocks him out
- 29:13instantly. And it's so bizarre.
- 29:16It's like when a warrior like, smacks their shield or spear on
- 29:20the ground. I'm just like, where did he
- 29:23learn to do that? I don't know, but I think it's
- 29:25kind of cool. I want to be a family on the
- 29:28wall, a Jedi Academy. When they teach everyone these
- 29:31other forms of combat, I think it's awesome.
- 29:34Yeah, what Can you imagine being in that room?
- 29:36Oh man. That'd.
- 29:38Be cool. Oh.
- 29:40Well, and that's the same episode where he gets Anakin in
- 29:42a headlock and Drew knocks him out.
- 29:45Yeah, yeah, yeah, again. I want to see the hand to hand.
- 29:48Where's this coming? From where is this coming from?
- 29:51It'd be really funny if Yoda taught it.
- 29:54Please a headlock you will give that's.
- 30:07That's a new T-shirt. Oh my gosh.
- 30:17A. Headlock you won't get right
- 30:19next to stab casual. Yeah, STAB, casual.
