Hey everybody, welcome to Ross Basement and I hope you enjoy my
• 0:03
daddy show. Are you prepared for financial
• 0:07
Armageddon in March of 2024? We're going to examine that in
• 0:14
this video. You hold silver, you hold gold
• 0:18
to protect yourselves. But what is coming down the pipe
• 0:22
in March, when added together, could create a very scary
• 0:27
situation for the US economy for U.S. citizens.
• 0:32
We're going to dig into it in this video.
• 0:34
Maybe it will be a complete nothing burger if you ever
• 0:39
noticed that in life, a lot of times all these events that get
• 0:42
built up, built up, built up, wind up being a big nothing.
• 0:46
However, when we look at everything going on and we
• 0:50
consider all the factors that could contribute to some serious
• 0:54
financial woes in this country, it becomes very disturbing.
• 0:59
Hey, thank you for joining me today.
• 1:01
You are the most important part of Ron's basement.
• 1:05
It's a big honor for me. When you choose to give us some
• 1:08
of your time here in the basement, please subscribe to
• 1:11
the channel. Give the video a thumbs up.
• 1:14
Now what's the first thing? And nobody's really talking
• 1:18
about this is the fact that in March, funding for the federal
• 1:22
government will run out again. We could be facing another
• 1:26
government shutdown. Now we may have a little giggle
• 1:29
and say, well, hey, that won't affect us, that won't impact us,
• 1:33
but that does have an impact on the US economy, especially now
• 1:38
that the government contributes so much to the economy.
• 1:42
But nobody's really talking about it.
• 1:44
Is it because they just keep kicking the can further and
• 1:48
further down the road? Or possibly, could we see a hard
• 1:53
stance by maybe the Republicans because this is an election
• 1:58
year? We do have Jerome Powell, who
• 2:01
was on 60 Minutes the other night talking about how critical
• 2:05
this fiscal situation has become in this country with the
• 2:09
national debt and the deficits that are being run.
• 2:11
So that's just the first big event heading at us in March.
• 2:17
I want to talk about the next big event, but first we want to
• 2:20
say thanks to channel sponsor Inbex.
• 2:23
They really do. Check all the boxes.

• 2:40
They've got all the bases covered.
• 2:42
I think Pinbex is best. And you will too.
• 2:45
What's #2 coming down the Pike towards us in March?
• 2:50
How about the Bank Term Funding program, The bailout program
• 2:54
that the Fed and the Treasury cooked up just about a year ago
• 2:57
when we had the massive bank failures that were going on in
• 3:01
early 2023? A big relief program, bailout,
• 3:05
whatever you want to call it. They are terminating that on
• 3:09
March 11th of this year, just at a time when the banks find
• 3:14
themselves with Treasuries that still aren't worth anything near
• 3:18
their face value and a wave of potential commercial real estate
• 3:23
defaults headed at the regional banks.
• 3:25
We could see another banking crisis here in the next few
• 3:30
months. Again, I don't want to be
• 3:32
sounding alarms or saying anything that we it will happen
• 3:36
for sure, but we're just looking at everything in aggregate
• 3:41
that's going on and it doesn't look real optimistic.
• 3:44
What else do we have coming in March, early April?
• 3:49
How about the feds reverse repo program?
• 3:52
That was the program the Fed put in place.
• 3:55
It built up a slush fund essentially of $2.5 trillion.
• 4:01
The banks had all this extra cash during that little health
• 4:05
crisis that we had back in 2020 when the Fed printed 40% of the
• 4:11
US dollars that were ever in existence.
• 4:13
The banks didn't know what to do with all the cash, so the
• 4:16
federal government set up a reverse repo program that
• 4:19
allowed the banks to park that cash with the Fed. the Fed then
• 4:24
in the last year has been feeding that back to the banks.
• 4:28
I like to call it kind of a stealth QE program.
• 4:32
The only problem is the fund, the reverse repo fund, had grown
• 4:36
to almost $2.5 trillion at one point.
• 4:40
Now it is down 80% with only $500 billion left, and there has
• 4:47
been a steady, gradual decline. When that runs out, people are
• 4:52
wondering because the banks are getting all that cash and using
• 4:56
  it to buy U.S. Treasuries.
• 4:58
Who's going to be the buyer of all these U.S.
• 5:01
Treasuries that need to be issued or renewed in the coming
• 5:06
year? I'd like to say thank you to
• 5:08
  channel sponsor Fortuna Silver Mines.
• 5:11

• 5:15
and gold and does it all around the world, do yourself a favor
• 5:20
and check out Fortuna, Silver, Fortuna, silver.com.
• 5:24
So we've talked about three factors, but is there more?
• 5:28
Yes, there is. We know the federal government
• 5:32
could be facing shutdown. We know the bank term funding
• 5:35
bailout program is coming to an end.
• 5:38
We know the reverse repo program is running out of money, but
• 5:44
what about just the general economy?
• 5:47
What do we know there? We know layoffs are going up and
• 5:50
up and up. And we mean good jobs that
• 5:53
people are getting laid off from.
• 5:55
When the new jobs that are being created don't.
• 5:58
They all seem to be like part time jobs, Things like
• 6:01
delivering Big Macs or or Burger King or Taco Bell.
• 6:05
Big jobs are going away. Companies like UPS, companies
• 6:09
like Citibank, 6 figure jobs with good benefits and people
• 6:14
are having a hard time finding comparable work.
• 6:17
But on top of that, we also know that general business activity
• 6:22
is slowing down. Most recently we heard from UPS
• 6:27
who said that their shipping volume was down by almost 8%.
• 6:31
Now, we don't want to be doom and gloom everything, right?
• 6:34
And maybe this will all turn into a big nothing burger.
• 6:39
But one thing we do want to do is be risk assessors, and that's
• 6:43
what we're doing. And when we look at what's
• 6:46
coming at us, it sure feels like we could see a confluence of
• 6:50
factors that could create some very major events in the month
• 6:55
of March, maybe into early April.
• 6:58
I know one thing for sure. I'll be here for you through it
• 7:01
all. Again, thank you for joining.
