- 0:03Speaker 1: slash at Treehouse on Air.
- 0:12Speaker 2: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:16Speaker 2: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Dan O'Malley along with
- 0:19Speaker 2: Trey Trenholm. All right, look, it just needs to be said,
- 0:25Speaker 2: I find it very interesting that The day after I
- 0:29Speaker 2: say how much I dislike the carnival barkers on the
- 0:34Speaker 2: Midway at the State Fair of Texas, two of the
- 0:38Speaker 2: Midway booths burned to the ground.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It wasn't me, is all I'm saying. Had nothing to
- 0:45Speaker 2: do with it. I was nowhere near Fair Park yesterday
- 0:52Speaker 2: when Sonic the Hedgehog went scorched earth. I didn't do it.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I'll be curious how that started.
- 1:07Speaker 2: The early indication is an electrical short around some plushy
- 1:18Speaker 2: toys of.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You know, I mean, now having had a glimpse inside
- 1:26Speaker 1: a booth, a food booth, food booth um yeah it
- 1:31Speaker 1: doesn't surprise me yeah the electrical there is uh precarious.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Honest to god i'm surprised the state fair of texas
- 1:40Speaker 2: doesn't burn to the ground every year or that there
- 1:43Speaker 2: isn't a daily grease fire at the state fair because
- 1:47Speaker 2: i mean that's a lot of kindling in one area
- 1:53Speaker 2: yeah did um And speaking of carnival stuffed toy prizes,
- 2:00Speaker 2: did you ever see Santa Claus the Movie with Dudley Moore,
- 2:05Speaker 2: John Lithgow from the 80s? So Dudley Moore, it was
- 2:12Speaker 2: like one of the main elves and he has these flying...
- 2:17Speaker 2: He wasn't Santa.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I was going to say, he had to be an elf.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And he had these candy canes that he had used
- 2:27Speaker 2: to make people fly. Similar recipe that he would give
- 2:30Speaker 2: the reindeer, that he would give Santa's reindeer to help
- 2:33Speaker 2: them fly. And so he gets hooked up with the
- 2:35Speaker 2: bad guy in the movie, John Lithgow, who wants to
- 2:38Speaker 2: do Christmas 2. He's a toy manufacturer. And his first
- 2:45Speaker 2: scene in the film is in front of Congress because
- 2:51Speaker 2: of his toys being filled with horrible and unsafe things.
- 2:57Speaker 2: They open up one of his stuffed toys and they
- 3:00Speaker 2: pour it out. It's full of broken glass and sand
- 3:03Speaker 2: and nails. And I always think that that's what carnival
- 3:06Speaker 2: plush toys are made out of.
- 3:07Speaker 1: That vaguely sounds familiar.
- 3:11Speaker 2: It's such a random... even as a little kid watching
- 3:14Speaker 2: that movie, I remember watching it and thinking, man, John
- 3:18Speaker 2: Lithgow is a hell of an actor because he's got
- 3:20Speaker 2: a line in there where he's like Christmas too. It's, it's, it's,
- 3:26Speaker 2: it's really good. I mean, it's a bad eighties Christmas movie,
- 3:29Speaker 2: but John Lithgow is really fun.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And you know, it's funny. The first, almost the first
- 3:34Speaker 1: anything time I see a fire at a business, my
- 3:37Speaker 1: first thought is insurance. But then I thought about it.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I was like, Man, insurance company could probably hand $ 100
- 3:45Speaker 1: to the carnival people, and that would cover the damages
- 3:47Speaker 1: of the toys. Exactly.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And speaking of insurance fires, did you see the Dallas
- 3:54Speaker 2: Gentleman's Club had a nice fire a couple days ago?
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 2: What I didn't realize until I read the story was
- 4:04Speaker 2: that's the same exact location where Caligula burned in the 90s.
- 4:07Speaker 2: The same building? No. That's what it said in the story.
- 4:11Speaker 2: That's what it said. It said it was the same
- 4:12Speaker 2: address and everything.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I know Caligula DGs I thought was on the other
- 4:19Speaker 1: side of a 35. Yeah.
- 4:24Speaker 2: West Northwest highway.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I thought Caligula was right there. I thought we
- 4:28Speaker 1: always remember Caligula being down where the old baby dolls was,
- 4:35Speaker 1: but maybe I'm wrong. I don't know.
- 4:37Speaker 2: That's, I never went to Caligula. It burned in 99,
- 4:40Speaker 2: so I was too young to have experienced that place.
- 4:44Speaker 2: But I remembered the fire and, of course, talking about
- 4:46Speaker 2: how everyone just assumed it was for insurance purposes. And
- 4:50Speaker 2: that was kind of my assumption with DG.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I know a lot more about that than I ever
- 4:58Speaker 1: really wanted to know. And let me just say this.
- 5:01Speaker 1: There are people that were involved with that that had
- 5:03Speaker 1: to go back home to their country of origin. and
- 5:07Speaker 1: stay there for a good 10 to 15 years. And
- 5:12Speaker 1: I'll leave it at that.
- 5:14Speaker 2: That's probably a good idea. Anyway, everything's fine at the
- 5:21Speaker 2: state fair and I didn't do it. I just want
- 5:24Speaker 2: that on the record.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Trey, are you a member of the mile high club?
- 5:31Speaker 1: I am not.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Do you want to be? I'm not asking, I'm not
- 5:35Speaker 2: propositioning you. I'm just asking in general, not with me,
- 5:38Speaker 2: just in general.
- 5:40Speaker 1: You know, I have, in the first class that you
- 5:50Speaker 1: have today, where you have like the little nooks and
- 5:53Speaker 1: everything else, I can kind of see where you could
- 5:55Speaker 1: do the mile high club. I have never, if you're
- 6:00Speaker 1: on private, I understand how you can do the mile
- 6:02Speaker 1: high club. And just a plain old, you know, seven 37,
- 6:08Speaker 1: seven 40, where you just have, even in first class,
- 6:12Speaker 1: you have big seats. I've never understood how anyone, how
- 6:15Speaker 1: you could get it on in an airport, an airplane bathroom. No.
- 6:18Speaker 1: So the mechanics of the mile high club have always
- 6:21Speaker 1: vexed me.
- 6:24Speaker 2: To me, it's one of those things that was invented
- 6:27Speaker 2: in early air travel when they might've had more space
- 6:31Speaker 2: and more cleanliness and But I tell you right now,
- 6:35Speaker 2: just the thought of the Mile High Club now in
- 6:38Speaker 2: a normal plane, like you said, if I'm flying economy,
- 6:41Speaker 2: I don't want to get it on in the economy
- 6:45Speaker 2: airplane bathroom.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Well, and I'll take that. There is one other scenario
- 6:51Speaker 1: that you simply do not see anymore. I mean, back,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and this is going back in the mid-90s. I was
- 7:00Speaker 1: like in college and flying certain places. There were, especially
- 7:05Speaker 1: Southwest flights that you would fly. They might only have
- 7:10Speaker 1: 30 people on them. Yeah. And you don't, you really
- 7:15Speaker 1: don't see that anymore because they really, the economics of
- 7:19Speaker 1: air travel, they just, they don't do that. So, but yeah, I,
- 7:24Speaker 1: like I said, it, it, That's one of those things.
- 7:28Speaker 1: It sounds like a fun, really great, fun idea. Sorry,
- 7:33Speaker 1: demon dog just broke in. But then in reality, I
- 7:38Speaker 1: don't see how you pull it off.
- 7:40Speaker 2: The Mile High Club expectation versus reality is like a
- 7:45Speaker 2: meme come to life. And when I was young, like teenager,
- 7:51Speaker 2: thinking like, oh yeah, the Mile High Club. But then
- 7:53Speaker 2: you start flying. And you're like, oh, this is kind
- 7:58Speaker 2: of bad. And then you're right. Air travel has not
- 8:02Speaker 2: gotten better throughout the years. It's gotten more cramped, dirtier.
- 8:08Speaker 2: It's more of a cattle call than it used to be.
- 8:10Speaker 2: And just the thought of just using an airplane bathroom
- 8:16Speaker 2: is bad enough, let alone doing something, quote unquote, intimate
- 8:20Speaker 2: in it. Now, like we just flew the other day
- 8:24Speaker 2: and- you know, an hour into the flight, I'm going
- 8:28Speaker 2: to the bathroom and I kind of wish I had
- 8:30Speaker 2: just stayed in my seat and used like a cup
- 8:32Speaker 2: or something. Cause the bathroom was already a wreck. By
- 8:34Speaker 2: the time I got in there an hour into the flight,
- 8:36Speaker 2: someone had already ruined it.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Now, if you, uh, if you ever date a flight
- 8:45Speaker 1: attendant and they, especially if they've done international, there's a
- 8:49Speaker 1: good chance. They're a member of the mile high club.
- 8:53Speaker 2: That I believe.
- 8:54Speaker 1: They have sleeping quarters on those. Reading about the escapades
- 9:00Speaker 1: of flight attendants and pilots is always quite interesting.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're right. I think, you know, the crew,
- 9:09Speaker 2: they're going to know the good spots, especially if it's
- 9:11Speaker 2: international and they've got, you know, like a little sleeping quarters.
- 9:15Speaker 1: The crew seem to, you know, they have an overnighter.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Seems like there's a lot of free-for-alls.
- 9:30Speaker 2: It's kind of like what happens in Vegas, what happens
- 9:32Speaker 2: on the plane stays on the plane.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 2: The reason I ask you if you would ever even
- 9:38Speaker 2: consider doing the Mile High Club is because someone took
- 9:40Speaker 2: it to an extreme. An intoxicated woman allegedly pleasured herself
- 9:46Speaker 2: on an American Airlines flight. This is one of those
- 9:52Speaker 2: times where using the word allegedly is really, it's probably unnecessary.
- 9:56Speaker 2: If you've got someone saying it and reporting it. it
- 10:00Speaker 2: to the airline, you probably really don't even need to
- 10:03Speaker 2: say allegedly.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I would guess it's alleged that she actually got pleasure? Maybe.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Maybe. Maybe that's the alleged part. A drunken woman rubbed
- 10:13Speaker 2: passengers the wrong way when she took off her pants
- 10:15Speaker 2: and began masturbating on a flight from Baltimore to Miami
- 10:18Speaker 2: last month. Katie Inzer, 46, said, committed the lewd act
- 10:23Speaker 2: shortly after takeoff on American Airlines' evening flight on September 11th.
- 10:29Speaker 2: That's according to an incident report filed by the Miami-Dade
- 10:32Speaker 2: Sheriff's Office, which I'm sure even by Miami-Dade Sheriff's deputy standards,
- 10:36Speaker 2: probably an interesting report to write. Fellow passenger complained of
- 10:41Speaker 2: a flight attendant that Inzer had removed her pants and
- 10:45Speaker 2: began to actively masturbate while making inappropriate sounds. This is
- 10:52Speaker 2: where my brain turns on a dime because when I
- 10:56Speaker 2: read someone masturbating and making inappropriate sounds, I'm thinking like
- 11:02Speaker 2: elephant noises or monkey noises. To me, if you're making
- 11:07Speaker 2: sex noises while masturbating, that's appropriate for the situation. Not
- 11:11Speaker 2: for the physical location in which you're doing it. It's
- 11:14Speaker 2: just where my brain went. I'd like to think it
- 11:17Speaker 2: was something really inappropriate and ridiculous.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Don't masturbate on plants. And if you're going to do it,
- 11:25Speaker 2: do it very quietly. And maybe ask for a blanket. Yeah, that's...
- 11:33Speaker 2: This one just sounds like she just like... She's like,
- 11:35Speaker 2: the plane took off and so did she. Pants come
- 11:38Speaker 2: off and she just goes to town.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You know, and therein, it's like... What level of drunk
- 11:47Speaker 1: do you have to get where you decide... you've just
- 11:52Speaker 1: forgotten where you are and you're just going to drop
- 11:55Speaker 1: trowel and rub one out.
- 11:58Speaker 2: You know what, Trey, as a sober man of over
- 12:00Speaker 2: 10 years, you have seen and heard a lot of things.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I am curious at any of your meetings, has anyone
- 12:10Speaker 2: ever said that they were so drunk that they jerked
- 12:14Speaker 2: it in front of people on a plane?
- 12:16Speaker 1: No, that would be, I have plenty of stories about
- 12:22Speaker 1: people getting kicked off of planes, but no.
- 12:25Speaker 2: So that's one that would get a special chip at AA? Yeah, yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Does AA hand out chips for like, well, we haven't
- 12:36Speaker 2: heard that one before, flick? Like share of the day
- 12:40Speaker 2: kind of a thing?
- 12:41Speaker 1: Well, usually it's not a chip. Usually you're then signing
- 12:45Speaker 1: the person's probation orders that they attended the meeting.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, a sponsor's duty is never done. Oh, hi, Lily,
- 13:00Speaker 2: you demon puppy. She kind of looks like Dobie there.
- 13:07Speaker 2: She does a little bit. Yeah, so look, the Mile
- 13:12Speaker 2: High Club is one thing, but joining the Mile High
- 13:15Speaker 2: Club solo is a whole other situation.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't feel like that counts either.
- 13:25Speaker 2: No. If you rub one out on a plane, you
- 13:29Speaker 2: did not join the Mile High Club. You cannot be
- 13:32Speaker 2: your own Eskimo bro.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Especially if you're a chick. You're right. Just get a blanket.
- 13:40Speaker 1: You can probably pull it off. And except for the
- 13:45Speaker 1: person next to you, if they see that, you know,
- 13:46Speaker 1: you're bright red or something, no one's probably going to know.
- 13:51Speaker 2: They may just think that you took a really good
- 13:53Speaker 2: pill before takeoff. And maybe she did. So that's where
- 13:57Speaker 2: the other part of this story comes in. I'm like,
- 13:59Speaker 2: I don't... There had to have been some other substance
- 14:05Speaker 2: at play here because I've seen a lot of drunk
- 14:07Speaker 2: people in my day. I have not seen that level
- 14:11Speaker 2: of behavior out of an inebriated person.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I mean.
- 14:17Speaker 1: If she took ecstasy before she got on the plane,
- 14:18Speaker 1: that would be quite odd timing, but okay. And then,
- 14:28Speaker 1: you know, unfortunately with that story, you, uh, in your mind,
- 14:32Speaker 1: you would like to think it's a really hot chick.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Then you look at the picture and you're like, it's
- 14:36Speaker 2: never the person you want.
- 14:38Speaker 1: She'd been road hard and put up wet.
- 14:41Speaker 2: By herself.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 2: I've really been unkind to myself.
- 14:47Speaker 1: And she has.
- 14:50Speaker 2: The last thing I wanted to mention on this story was,
- 14:53Speaker 2: and this goes back to what I was asking you
- 14:54Speaker 2: at the very beginning, Trey, which is, would you join
- 14:57Speaker 2: the mile high club or more specifically under what circumstances
- 15:01Speaker 2: would you consider joining the mile high club? Because for me,
- 15:06Speaker 2: private plane, sure. Um, maybe an international flight on Emirates
- 15:13Speaker 2: where you've got like a shower and there's like a
- 15:16Speaker 2: bed type situation. That's like, uh, the first class is
- 15:20Speaker 2: sort of like a tiny, like little capsule thing where
- 15:23Speaker 2: you've got privacy.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I, not even it, but like a lot of
- 15:27Speaker 1: the first class now where you have your own cubby
- 15:32Speaker 1: hole type, you know, your own little, you, you, you're secluded.
- 15:36Speaker 1: You can actually close it off. No one can see
- 15:39Speaker 1: in whatever. Sure. Cramp quarters, maybe, but yeah, you can
- 15:43Speaker 1: at least pull it off.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Uh, but yeah, that's about the only time I can
- 15:49Speaker 1: see it because, uh, and, and maybe there was a
- 15:52Speaker 1: time in my much younger years where I would want
- 15:59Speaker 1: to try something, but, uh, at this point, I, I just,
- 16:05Speaker 1: I think the, uh, and the police car would be
- 16:07Speaker 1: too uncomfortable. That's going to outweigh almost everything. Yeah. And
- 16:16Speaker 1: having your face plastered all over the news.
- 16:20Speaker 2: There is that aspect, yeah. The other thing about it
- 16:23Speaker 2: is this. We're now at an age, like we missed
- 16:25Speaker 2: that window, right? Like if you're going to do it
- 16:28Speaker 2: in an airplane bathroom, the ones back in economy are
- 16:32Speaker 2: not the bathrooms you want to do it in, especially
- 16:34Speaker 2: not at our age. Because you're going to hurt something.
- 16:40Speaker 2: You may not even make it out of that bathroom.
- 16:42Speaker 2: You may end up in a position where you're stuck
- 16:44Speaker 2: and something has dislodged or herniated or pinched in a
- 16:49Speaker 2: way that now you can't move and you're going to
- 16:51Speaker 2: need medical assistance to get off and out of the bathroom.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Nothing good is going to come of it. And in
- 17:01Speaker 2: addition to this story had me thinking of it, I
- 17:03Speaker 2: was watching Mad Men and there's one scene where, I mean,
- 17:05Speaker 2: this is the late sixties and this couple's like, Oh,
- 17:08Speaker 2: and she says, meet me in the bathroom in 60 seconds.
- 17:11Speaker 1: You know what?
- 17:12Speaker 2: At the time that that show took place in 1969,
- 17:15Speaker 2: that might've been a decent bathroom to get it on in,
- 17:18Speaker 2: but not today's bathrooms.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Well, and, and here's a, here is a truism that
- 17:25Speaker 1: just where, and we have seen this in our lives
- 17:28Speaker 1: pre nine 11. no one would have thought twice about
- 17:32Speaker 1: a couple of people loitering around the bathroom. Right. And
- 17:38Speaker 1: you could pull off some hijinks and no one really
- 17:43Speaker 1: was going to get that upset about it. Post 9-11,
- 17:45Speaker 1: it brought in a whole other scenario where, I mean,
- 17:48Speaker 1: let's be honest, flying has just never been as fun
- 17:51Speaker 1: as it was pre-9-11.
- 17:55Speaker 2: The terrorists won on that front? Um, but yeah, when
- 17:59Speaker 2: you see people gathering by the, by the, you know,
- 18:01Speaker 2: the bathroom, you start and you wonder, all right, are,
- 18:04Speaker 2: are you trying to, are you trying to F or
- 18:07Speaker 2: are you trying to F the plane? Now a slight
- 18:13Speaker 2: segue here.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:16Speaker 2: We're going to stay with air travel. If I asked
- 18:19Speaker 2: you to come pick me up at the airport at 1am,
- 18:22Speaker 2: would you?
- 18:30Speaker 1: As much as I love you, Dan. Listen, we've talked
- 18:37Speaker 1: about this. I have two rules of life where if
- 18:42Speaker 1: you're over 30, there are two things you should never
- 18:46Speaker 1: ask someone to do. Help you move and pick you
- 18:50Speaker 1: up at the airport. Or take you to the airport
- 18:52Speaker 1: and pick you up. If they volunteer, on them. But
- 18:57Speaker 1: never ask. Never ask. Because over 30, you should be
- 19:01Speaker 1: making enough money where you can afford a taxi, an Uber, whatever,
- 19:06Speaker 1: and movers.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 1: So, yeah, that's, you know, I would be more inclined
- 19:13Speaker 1: to think you're an asshole for asking me to do that.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Well, it's because someone actually genuinely asked a friend to
- 19:23Speaker 2: do that recently, and they said, am I the a-hole
- 19:25Speaker 2: for not picking my friend up from the airport because
- 19:28Speaker 2: his flight landed at 1 a.m.? A friend of mine
- 19:31Speaker 2: went out of town for a few days and asked
- 19:33Speaker 2: if I could pick him up from the airport when
- 19:34Speaker 2: he got back. When he first asked, his flight was
- 19:37Speaker 2: supposed to land around 10.30, so I said, sure. Um, uh,
- 19:42Speaker 2: I was getting ready for bed that night when he
- 19:45Speaker 2: texted me that his flight had been delayed and he
- 19:46Speaker 2: probably wouldn't land around until around 1 a.m.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Airport.
- 19:50Speaker 2: 35 minutes from me. So realistically, I wouldn't have been
- 19:53Speaker 2: back home until after two. I told him I'm not
- 19:55Speaker 2: coming anymore and that he should just grab an Uber.
- 19:58Speaker 2: He got annoyed because apparently an Uber was almost 70
- 20:01Speaker 2: bucks and said I'd already agreed to pick him up.
- 20:04Speaker 2: I told him I agreed to 10 30, not the
- 20:06Speaker 2: middle of the night. He ended up paying for the
- 20:08Speaker 2: Uber and has been pretty cold to me since I
- 20:10Speaker 2: do feel a little bad because the delay obviously wasn't
- 20:12Speaker 2: his fault, but I also had to work in the morning.
- 20:15Speaker 1: No, that's, I mean, especially if your flights delayed where,
- 20:20Speaker 1: you know, I, okay. You asked someone again, does it
- 20:25Speaker 1: say how old is there? Does it give an age
- 20:28Speaker 1: on this? Any of them?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Um, This does... I do not see an age on this, no.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Again, that's... Okay, one thing, if you said you'd pick
- 20:40Speaker 1: them up at 10.30, but if you're... The guy wanting
- 20:44Speaker 1: to be picked up is the asshole in this, because
- 20:46Speaker 1: if your flight is delayed so much that you're getting
- 20:48Speaker 1: in at 1 a.m., be considerate of your friends and
- 20:52Speaker 1: their time. You don't want to have them... Because, yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 1: if they pick you up at... If your flight gets
- 20:57Speaker 1: in at 1, that means... you're not, that person isn't
- 21:01Speaker 1: getting home till two, probably in bed until two 33 o'clock. Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 1: They have to work the next day. Screw you. Yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 2: The, uh, Tara's dad took us to the airport recently
- 21:11Speaker 2: when we were leaving, uh, uh, Detroit area and flying
- 21:14Speaker 2: to Seattle. And he, we were like, okay, we got
- 21:18Speaker 2: to get a, we got to get an Uber or
- 21:19Speaker 2: whatever to the airport. Cause our flight was very early.
- 21:21Speaker 2: It was at like six something, which meant we had
- 21:25Speaker 2: to be at the airport by around four, especially with
- 21:27Speaker 2: two pets. So it was going to be an early,
- 21:30Speaker 2: early wake-up call. Tara's dad was like, I'll take you
- 21:33Speaker 2: guys to the airport. And we never asked. We didn't
- 21:35Speaker 2: want to. We were hoping he might offer because it's
- 21:37Speaker 2: her dad, and he's that way.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:40Speaker 2: And he did, but we certainly were not expecting it,
- 21:43Speaker 2: and we definitely were not about to ask because that
- 21:45Speaker 2: meant him basically waking up at 2.33 in the morning
- 21:49Speaker 2: to come pick us up and then drive to Detroit.
- 21:53Speaker 2: And then he's got to go back. But he was very,
- 21:56Speaker 2: very sweet and offered to take us, and we said yes.
- 22:01Speaker 1: I mean, the truth of the matter is, especially if
- 22:03Speaker 1: you had animals and you asked, yeah, I probably would
- 22:05Speaker 1: say okay. But in general, because I would consider the
- 22:12Speaker 1: pets an extenuating circumstance, because not all Ubers want to
- 22:16Speaker 1: have pets in them, everything else. But yeah, in general, and.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I....
- 22:26Speaker 1: And again, maybe this is age, but I have gotten
- 22:28Speaker 1: to the point if I travel, it's easier than trying
- 22:32Speaker 1: to sit there and wait for someone and they are
- 22:36Speaker 1: having to drive around and you get frustrated and where
- 22:39Speaker 1: are they and everything else that you just grab an
- 22:41Speaker 1: Uber and you're gone.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Yeah. My ultimate decider in situations like this is would
- 22:49Speaker 2: I want to do it? If I I don't want
- 22:53Speaker 2: to drive a friend to the airport at two o'clock
- 22:56Speaker 2: in the morning or pick them up at one o'clock
- 22:59Speaker 2: in the morning. I sure as hell don't want to
- 23:01Speaker 2: ask someone else to do it because if I do that,
- 23:07Speaker 2: then I owe them one and I don't want to
- 23:09Speaker 2: have to pay that back. Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 1: That's a, that is not a debt you want to have.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It's like, like I said, moving is, Mm-mm. And airport rides. Yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 2: I do not want to ever help you move, Trey,
- 23:29Speaker 2: which is why I will never ask you to help
- 23:32Speaker 2: me move.
- 23:32Speaker 1: What? And that is, when you're in your 20s, cut
- 23:40Speaker 1: you some slack.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 23:42Speaker 1: But.
- 23:42Speaker 2: It's almost expected in your 20s.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. But over 30, you should never ask the... Because...
- 23:53Speaker 1: And honestly, it's worth, especially moving, it's worth the money
- 23:57Speaker 1: to have someone, you know, you're not watching your friends.
- 24:02Speaker 1: If you're paying somebody, you can be bad at them
- 24:04Speaker 1: if they screw your stuff up.
- 24:05Speaker 2: That's right.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Do you have a storage unit that you've been holding
- 24:12Speaker 1: onto for months, if not years? Do you tell yourself
- 24:15Speaker 1: that this will be the month you finally go close
- 24:17Speaker 1: it down after that rent payment clears, but it's still
- 24:20Speaker 1: there month after month? This is Trey from the Treehouse Show,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and if this is you, you need OPT services. Call
- 24:27Speaker 1: OPT services, and they'll give you a free estimate on

- 24:35Speaker 1: separate the ones that have value, sell them, and split
- 24:38Speaker 1: the profits with you, so you can finally close the

- 24:43Speaker 1: the process. Give them a call or text today at 214-952-9831,

- 25:29Speaker 2: it's completely free. 833-COOK-DFW or the website cookdfw.com. Today is Wednesday,
- 25:37Speaker 2: October 7, 2026. Let's celebrate today with some birthdays. Just saw,
- 25:46Speaker 2: I think it was a video yesterday or the day before.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I can't remember which. Ava Longoria is 41 today, and
- 25:53Speaker 2: I just saw a video of her where she was
- 25:56Speaker 2: at the Star in Frisco.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Oh, wait.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Now that's Evan Longoria.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I was about to say, Ava Longoria is close to 60.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I know she's over 50.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Yeah, never mind. This is baseball's Evan Longoria, not the
- 26:11Speaker 2: actress Ava Longoria. Anyway, Evan Longoria is 41, but whatever.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Ava Longoria looks much better than Evan Longoria, and she
- 26:20Speaker 2: recently came out of the Cowboys closet. I had no
- 26:22Speaker 2: idea she was a Cowboys fan.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I think I did know that. But yeah, and I'm sorry,
- 26:30Speaker 1: she's actually like 51, 52, but she still looks amazing.
- 26:39Speaker 1: She and Salma Hayek, there's something in that.
- 26:45Speaker 2: That's all that needs to be said.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I read somewhere where they're going to do a Desperate
- 26:51Speaker 1: Housewives reboot. Sure.
- 26:57Speaker 2: I mean, they reboot everything these days, so why not?
- 27:00Speaker 1: I saw the first preview of the Baywatch reboot. Oh,
- 27:05Speaker 1: how bad was it? You know, it.
- 27:13Speaker 1: It was just as cheesy as the original Baywatch. If
- 27:16Speaker 1: you saw a promo for the original Baywatch, the difference
- 27:19Speaker 1: is that one, I knew who David Hasselhoff was, and
- 27:23Speaker 1: at the time, he was really cool. I don't know
- 27:26Speaker 1: any of these people.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Which means you're not cool. I don't know if I've recognized,
- 27:34Speaker 2: outside of Livy Dunn, who's the LSU gymnast, I don't
- 27:41Speaker 2: know if I know any other names attached to the project.
- 27:47Speaker 2: But if we're being honest, when you reboot Baywatch, the
- 27:54Speaker 2: bar is already really low because Baywatch was not a
- 27:59Speaker 2: really good show. It was just a show that came
- 28:02Speaker 2: around the right time. It was cheesy. It was sexy.
- 28:07Speaker 2: And I mean, it was silly. It was a silly,
- 28:09Speaker 2: silly show. So if you reboot it today, it doesn't
- 28:13Speaker 2: it's like it doesn't have to like be crazy good
- 28:17Speaker 2: and like, oh, I hope they do the original justice.
- 28:21Speaker 1: If memory serves. I don't know, was Baywatch on broadcast
- 28:27Speaker 1: TV or was it always a syndicated show? Because it
- 28:30Speaker 1: was as far as I know.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I think it was always syndicated or maybe it's first
- 28:36Speaker 2: year Fox.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I don't, I think it was always syndicated, but I
- 28:40Speaker 1: think so. It was at a time like that was
- 28:44Speaker 1: groundbreaking that you had a bunch of, of women in
- 28:46Speaker 1: bikinis on TV.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Well, and that's the other thing. They weren't even in bikinis.
- 28:51Speaker 1: It was one piece. Well, some of the, the peripheral,
- 28:54Speaker 1: the extras, but yeah, all the lifeguards. Um, but yeah,
- 29:01Speaker 1: My biggest thing with that is if The Rock couldn't save,
- 29:07Speaker 1: you know, in a movie form, because per my recollection,
- 29:12Speaker 1: that flopped. Yeah. If he can't save it, you're probably SOL. Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Absolutely. And it had a killer cast. And I watched
- 29:23Speaker 2: the movie because I watch lots of bad movies. And
- 29:26Speaker 2: it was not good, but it wasn't I mean, it
- 29:32Speaker 2: was entertaining-ish.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Isn't that how you would describe Baywatch, the TV show?
- 29:37Speaker 2: Yeah, so to me, The Rock nailed it.
- 29:40Speaker 1: It wasn't terrible.
- 29:42Speaker 2: And I was also like 12, so it was right
- 29:44Speaker 2: in my wheelhouse.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Pam Anderson in a bikini was something that, you know,
- 29:50Speaker 1: made things tingle.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Yasmeen Bleeth, Erika Leniak. Yeah, there was some good stuff
- 29:56Speaker 2: in there. Mm-hmm. The black cop on the four-wheeler? That
- 30:06Speaker 2: was also, by the way, now this is some random
- 30:09Speaker 2: ridiculously dumb knowledge. I believe the Mazda Miata, when it
- 30:17Speaker 2: made its debut, it had an appearance on Baywatch. So
- 30:22Speaker 2: if you remember Mitch Buchanan, played by David Hasselhoff, he
- 30:26Speaker 2: had his boss, was an older-ish guy, and I guess
- 30:29Speaker 2: he was retiring or whatever, and Mitch was going to
- 30:32Speaker 2: get his job, and he was going off into the
- 30:34Speaker 2: sunset in a red convertible Miata. That was brand new.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Miata's, when they came out, were cool.
- 30:44Speaker 2: They were very cool.
- 30:46Speaker 1: And if you ever want to talk about a little
- 30:51Speaker 1: subsect of society, Miata owners now, the It's an interesting group.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I've seen a few. We had a good running bit
- 31:03Speaker 2: with a pair. RMS back in the day. It is
- 31:07Speaker 2: weird whenever I see one driving around. You want to
- 31:10Speaker 2: talk about a weird subset of car culture people? There
- 31:14Speaker 2: was a guy I worked with. This was back in
- 31:17Speaker 2: high school into college.
- 31:18Speaker 1: How to Batmobile? Two of them at one time.
- 31:27Speaker 2: That is almost as weird as this guy. I mean,
- 31:33Speaker 2: that's bad. That's, that's weird. Two of them that no
- 31:35Speaker 2: one under why, um, there was a guy I worked with.
- 31:40Speaker 2: He was a chiropractor. He had an original Pontiac Fiero
- 31:45Speaker 2: and he loved that car. It was his maroon baby.
- 31:51Speaker 1: It was so weird. Those were cool when they came out.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Trey, this was 1999 and he still thought.
- 32:01Speaker 1: It was cool. No. Those little things would haul ass though.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I'm sure his did as well because there was never
- 32:11Speaker 2: anyone else in it except for him.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I thought you could fit.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Anyways, baseball's Evan Longoria, not Hollywood's Ava Longoria is 41.
- 32:24Speaker 2: The Ashmore twins are 47 today. Aaron and Sean. Aaron
- 32:30Speaker 2: was in Smallville, Warehouse 13, and Killjoys, and Sean played
- 32:35Speaker 2: Iceman in the X-Men movies.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Okay, I know who that is. Yep. Never saw Smallville.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I never did either, and I don't know if it
- 32:45Speaker 2: was any good or not. I mean, I guess people
- 32:47Speaker 2: said it had... I'll have to ask Jerry. I think
- 32:51Speaker 2: Jerry watched it. I think I think it got mostly
- 32:55Speaker 2: good reviews. I know it had John Schneider in it
- 32:58Speaker 2: playing Paul.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I think it was on. I think it had a
- 33:02Speaker 1: good four or five season run.
- 33:04Speaker 2: It may have been on longer than that. It was
- 33:06Speaker 2: pretty popular for the WB.
- 33:09Speaker 1: You know, that's... And I think it's age. Superman for
- 33:15Speaker 1: so long was... God, now Reeves. Christopher Reeves.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I mean, that was.
- 33:25Speaker 1: And then I actually really enjoyed Zack Snyder's. I think
- 33:33Speaker 1: Man of Steel was a really, really good movie.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I went back and rewatched that recently. And I like
- 33:43Speaker 2: aspects of it. but it still had a lot of
- 33:48Speaker 2: Zack Snyder stuff that I've realized now that I am
- 33:50Speaker 2: not a fan of. Like at one point Zod is
- 33:52Speaker 2: going through this massive exposition thing. It's just like, uh, um,
- 33:59Speaker 2: but I mean, I always forget his name, but that
- 34:03Speaker 2: actor that played Zod, I thought he was phenomenal. I
- 34:05Speaker 2: Henry Cavill will probably be the best physical specimen to
- 34:09Speaker 2: play Superman ever. I, I.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I, you know, I just went and, and, I even
- 34:17Speaker 1: went and I watched the Justice League director's cut that
- 34:22Speaker 1: was like over four hours.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not doing that.
- 34:26Speaker 1: I watched it and I did not think I would
- 34:29Speaker 1: like it, but I did. I think that's a set
- 34:34Speaker 1: of movies, as time goes on, we'll look back on
- 34:37Speaker 1: more fondly than maybe originally we did.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Maybe. I have not gone back to rewatch the Justice
- 34:46Speaker 2: League thing. I liked the first Wonder Woman movie. I
- 34:50Speaker 2: kind of liked Ben Affleck's Batman. Ben Affleck's Batman gets
- 34:56Speaker 2: the best Batman fight scene in movie history, without a doubt,
- 34:59Speaker 2: where he saves Superman's mama in that warehouse.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Holy shit.
- 35:05Speaker 2: That's probably my favorite scene in a superhero movie is
- 35:07Speaker 2: when he just kicks the crap out of everybody. Other
- 35:10Speaker 2: birthdays today. I think I scrolled up too far. I
- 35:14Speaker 2: think it somehow ended up with someone else, like a
- 35:16Speaker 2: birthday from yesterday. So the Ashmore Brothers, we got them.
- 35:22Speaker 2: John Mellencamp is 75 today.
- 35:27Speaker 1: The Coog. The Coog.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Tico Torres from Bon Jovi. He's the drummer. He is 73. God, that's.
- 35:38Speaker 1: So weird. How old is Bon Jovi now?
- 35:43Speaker 2: I think they're all around the same age, but he's,
- 35:45Speaker 2: he's let his hair go natural. So he's like kind
- 35:48Speaker 2: of silvery white hair, but he still has it all.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I believe.
- 35:52Speaker 2: No.
- 35:52Speaker 1: So Bon Jovi, he's only, he's 64. So he's, but yeah,
- 35:56Speaker 1: I have seen him and he's all gray now, but he,
- 36:00Speaker 1: he makes gray look cool. Cause it's, it is as
- 36:03Speaker 1: it's like that. So he is a silver Fox. Yup.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Simon Cowell is 67 today. Lay off the plastic surgery, dude.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I don't know what she looks like now, but Bobbi
- 36:22Speaker 2: Brown is 57. She is the actress model best remembered
- 36:27Speaker 2: as the woman in Warrant's Cherry Pie video. One of
- 36:34Speaker 2: the original video vixens, my goodness.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Yeah, her, Tawny Katane. And I'm going to guess she
- 36:44Speaker 1: probably aged about like Tawny Katane.
- 36:48Speaker 2: I have not looked, and I have no interest in looking.
- 36:51Speaker 1: That is one of those. I prefer to remember them
- 36:56Speaker 1: as they were.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Which was with a cherry on her finger and right off.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Even though, because I think that video came out in 1990.
- 37:09Speaker 2: And I'm pretty sure it's responsible for my early start
- 37:12Speaker 2: to puberty. Yeah, I mean, that's... Between her and the
- 37:18Speaker 2: girl in Billy Idol's Cradle of Love video.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Oh, gosh. I forgot who that was. She actually was
- 37:27Speaker 1: in movies, I believe.
- 37:30Speaker 2: You're just giving me a reason to go back and
- 37:32Speaker 2: watch it.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Well, it's like, you know, Tawny Katane. I'm sorry, Betsy
- 37:41Speaker 1: Lynn George is that girl's name. And I guess she
- 37:45Speaker 1: really didn't do anything. For some reason, I thought she
- 37:47Speaker 1: was in a movie or something. Yeah, Tawny Katane, you know,
- 37:50Speaker 1: do you remember the Whitesnake video where she's writhing around
- 37:52Speaker 1: on the front of the car? Oh, yeah. That's one
- 37:55Speaker 1: of those where at the time, if you found her
- 37:58Speaker 1: writhing around on, I don't care what kind of car
- 38:00Speaker 1: you had, you would have been like, F yes.
- 38:05Speaker 2: I'm sure my dad was having impure thoughts about her
- 38:08Speaker 2: on top of that Pontiac station wagon that he drove.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah. And now you'd be like, hey, you're dead in
- 38:14Speaker 1: my f * * * ing car. Get the f
- 38:18Speaker 1: * * * off.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Get off that, you weird homeless thing. This segment of

- 38:50Speaker 2: you ever heard of a parallel parking championship?
- 38:56Speaker 1: No, I have not.
- 38:57Speaker 2: I've seen a lot of losers. Damn it, I stepped
- 39:02Speaker 2: all over you on that one. I hadn't either until recently.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I saw a video a couple of weeks ago. Portland,
- 39:10Speaker 2: Oregon apparently had a parallel parking championship. And I guess
- 39:17Speaker 2: the city of Philadelphia had some serious FOMO. So they too...
- 39:22Speaker 2: did a parallel parking championship. I guess this makes sense
- 39:25Speaker 2: for any cities that have limited parking at whatever parking
- 39:29Speaker 2: is available. Parallel is one of the few options. You
- 39:33Speaker 2: got to get good at it, right? So someone actually
- 39:38Speaker 2: put together a parallel parking championship in Philadelphia. And there
- 39:42Speaker 2: is a twist in here that is surprising, but Not shocking.
- 39:54Speaker 2: So Philadelphia held its first parallel parking championship on Saturday.
- 39:58Speaker 2: 14 drivers competed in the ability to park in a
- 40:09Speaker 2: single attempt in a tight space. And drivers had to
- 40:13Speaker 2: navigate Philadelphia's street life. Like a trash fire or a
- 40:18Speaker 2: crowd yelling Dallas sucks.
- 40:24Speaker 1: It's funny when you said that, I was like, I
- 40:26Speaker 1: can't imagine such an angry city doing this. And then, okay,
- 40:30Speaker 1: now it makes sense. It does.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Like having as part of your parallel parking championship in Philadelphia,
- 40:37Speaker 2: being able to focus on parallel parking while an angry
- 40:41Speaker 2: Philadelphia mob screams, Dallas sucks is part of the competition.
- 40:46Speaker 2: is so stupid, but also so on brand for Philadelphia.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I worry about that city's mental health and their obsession
- 40:55Speaker 2: with Dallas. It's, it's a little like, I'm thinking a
- 40:59Speaker 2: temporary restraining order might be, you know.
- 41:02Speaker 1: They are like the Longhorns and with the Aggies, I
- 41:06Speaker 1: live rent free in their head and will print forever.
- 41:11Speaker 2: I mean, it's just, it's really pathetic.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Is what it is. It's funny you bring this up
- 41:19Speaker 1: because I really wondered this. I was watching the New
- 41:25Speaker 1: Orleans-Atlanta game last night. We're recording this on Tuesday. It
- 41:30Speaker 1: was the Monday night football game. It was the 20th
- 41:33Speaker 1: anniversary of when they reopened the Superdome after Katrina and
- 41:37Speaker 1: they had to remodel everything. And it was a big
- 41:40Speaker 1: deal for New Orleans. They got trounced last night. But
- 41:47Speaker 1: that was a big rivalry. And I seriously wonder this.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Do pro players, they give it lip service, but do
- 41:56Speaker 1: you think they really have a lot of hatred for
- 42:00Speaker 1: each other in this day and age? Because a lot
- 42:04Speaker 1: of times, if you're playing for one team, that's not
- 42:07Speaker 1: your first team. You may very well have played for
- 42:10Speaker 1: your opponents, do you really hate them or are you
- 42:12Speaker 1: just going through the motions of that? I mean, when
- 42:15Speaker 1: back in the day before free agency and you played
- 42:17Speaker 1: for one team, I understand you, you hated your, you know,
- 42:22Speaker 1: there was a hatred really between the Redskins and the,
- 42:24Speaker 1: and the Cowboys, the commanders, the commanders of the Cowboys.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Well, to be fair at the time, it was the
- 42:31Speaker 2: Redskins and the Cowboys. So yeah.
- 42:33Speaker 1: But yeah, there was, there was a severe dislike amongst
- 42:39Speaker 1: all the NFC East opponents. But now it's like, do
- 42:42Speaker 1: you really? I know you say you feel it, but
- 42:46Speaker 1: do you?
- 42:48Speaker 2: They feel it as far as a rivalry within the
- 42:51Speaker 2: division because it's a legitimate obstacle that you have to
- 42:54Speaker 2: get past, especially in the NFL where you play everyone
- 42:59Speaker 2: in your division twice. So, yeah, is there a rivalry there?
- 43:04Speaker 2: They're in your way in order for you to get
- 43:06Speaker 2: to where you want to be?
- 43:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Is there a genuine hate for that team like there
- 43:11Speaker 2: used to be back in the day? Absolutely not. And
- 43:14Speaker 2: because you're right, Trey, it's because of free agency, because
- 43:18Speaker 2: it is so prevalent now, not just with free agency,
- 43:22Speaker 2: but with trades and players getting cut, getting picked up
- 43:26Speaker 2: by other teams, because all these coaches now also move
- 43:30Speaker 2: around to all these teams and So it's really, really,
- 43:35Speaker 2: it's got to be so hard now to feel like
- 43:37Speaker 2: genuine animosity towards someone just because they're wearing the jersey
- 43:41Speaker 2: of your quote unquote rival.
- 43:43Speaker 1: I mean, like, I think Jason Kelsey played for Philly
- 43:46Speaker 1: his whole career.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:48Speaker 1: And he, they hate the Cowboys, you know, he and
- 43:50Speaker 1: his wife. So, and I understand if you, if you
- 43:53Speaker 1: manage to do that, because you're going to feed off
- 43:56Speaker 1: the fan base and God knows the Philly hates Dallas.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Jason's smart.
- 44:02Speaker 2: His wife is smart. Having played his entire career and won, what,
- 44:07Speaker 2: two Super Bowls with the Eagles, there is absolutely no
- 44:10Speaker 2: way you're going to hear Jason Kelsey say, even if
- 44:12Speaker 2: he believes it, you know, Dallas really isn't that bad.
- 44:15Speaker 1: You're not going to say that.
- 44:16Speaker 2: No, they're going to say Dallas sucks. But they also
- 44:20Speaker 2: know that Dallas is the best thing that's ever happened
- 44:23Speaker 2: to Philadelphia. But I always focus on the thing about
- 44:27Speaker 2: how sad it is. It's like Philadelphia has won like
- 44:29Speaker 2: two Super Bowls in the time and Dallas is 30
- 44:33Speaker 2: year drought and they're still obsessed with, with what Dallas
- 44:36Speaker 2: is doing. It's like, guys, stop being obsessed with Dallas.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Just be really glad that you've got what Dallas can't
- 44:41Speaker 2: have right now. Be happy within yourself.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Yeah. You, you, if you want to go off the
- 44:49Speaker 1: just performance of the last 30 years, you won by
- 44:54Speaker 1: leaps and bounds.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Enjoy it.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Cause you, You've won two, but you played in three,
- 45:04Speaker 1: I believe, because I think they lost one to the Chiefs.
- 45:08Speaker 2: And not to mention the four that they lost with
- 45:10Speaker 2: Donovan McNabb. No, I'm not going to lie. As a
- 45:13Speaker 2: Dallas fan, that did bring me joy.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:18Speaker 2: But I will also say that as a Dallas fan,
- 45:21Speaker 2: I actually felt bad for Philly fans because that was awful.
- 45:25Speaker 2: And I also felt bad for Donovan McNabb. I was like,
- 45:28Speaker 2: I would have liked to have seen him win at
- 45:29Speaker 2: least one of them.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you there. He was such a
- 45:34Speaker 1: good player that I wouldn't have mind of seeing him
- 45:38Speaker 1: win one. Yep.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Terrell Owens, on the other hand. That was still a
- 45:46Speaker 2: dark day in Cowboys history to me when Jerry signed
- 45:49Speaker 2: Terrell Owens because I still had not forgiven him for
- 45:52Speaker 2: his antics on the star at Texas Stadium that one time.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Wasn't that when he was a 49er, though?
- 45:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:00Speaker 1: There's a perfect example of. Yeah, yeah. Because for me
- 46:09Speaker 1: in the 90s with those Cowboys, the 49ers were our
- 46:13Speaker 1: big rival. Yep. You knew pretty much every year that
- 46:17Speaker 1: NFC championship game was going to be 49ers Cowboys.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Yep. Having Terrell Owens disrespect the star at Texas Stadium
- 46:24Speaker 2: and the way he did was so bad to me
- 46:28Speaker 2: as a fan that when Jerry signed him, I was
- 46:32Speaker 2: genuinely shocked. And I was, I was like, I can't
- 46:35Speaker 2: believe you would do that.
- 46:36Speaker 1: And you're right.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Trade that takes us right back to the conversation we're
- 46:39Speaker 2: having now, which is, is that rivalry the same between
- 46:42Speaker 2: players as it used to be? Clearly it's not. And
- 46:45Speaker 2: Jerry helped forge that path one by spearheading free agency
- 46:51Speaker 2: in the NFL period. And two, by signing one of
- 46:56Speaker 2: the most hated players in the NFL as a Dallas
- 46:59Speaker 2: Cowboys fan to the Dallas Cowboys in Terrell Owens.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed. I mean, yeah, Jerry didn't come up with
- 47:07Speaker 1: free agency, but the salary cap certainly made it far
- 47:11Speaker 1: more prevalent where guys get traded and switch teams.
- 47:16Speaker 2: And therefore, they don't have as big of a problem
- 47:19Speaker 2: with the guys on the other side of the ball.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Yeah. I think everyone hated T.O.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Even the guys on his own team.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:36Speaker 2: So do you hate the Cowboys? Yeah, but not as
- 47:39Speaker 2: much as I hate Terrell Owens in the locker next
- 47:41Speaker 2: to me.
- 47:41Speaker 1: All right.
- 47:43Speaker 2: That does it for us here inside the treehouse today.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Have a great one. And always remember that Billy's weird
- 47:50Speaker 2: obsession with Dallas is weird. Don't ever forget that. We'll
- 47:55Speaker 2: see you next time right here inside the treehouse.
