- 0:00SPEAKER_05: Hello everyone.
- 0:01SPEAKER_05: It's time for Vegas Revealed episode two.
- 0:04SPEAKER_11: And it's a big news here in Las Vegas, the NFL Draft.
- 0:08SPEAKER_11: We're getting new details about how that event is going to be taking over this city.
- 0:13SPEAKER_11: Oh, it's going to be huge.
- 0:14SPEAKER_05: Also, Super Bowl weekend's going to be huge.
- 0:17SPEAKER_05: It's coming up.
- 0:18SPEAKER_05: We're going to talk with the chef from here at Legacy Stadium, one of the biggest sports bars on the strip, about what they have planned.
- 0:24SPEAKER_11: Plus, the uh president of Live Nation West Coast is joining us here in studio to talk about what it takes to land some of these big Las Vegas headliners and the people who just say no.
- 0:59SPEAKER_11: This is Vegas Revealed coming to you from the Palazzo broadcast studio, presented by Legazi Stadium here at the Palazzo in the heart of the Las Vegas strip.
- 1:09SPEAKER_11: I'm Sean McAllister.
- 1:10SPEAKER_05: And I'm Dana Roselli, and we love it here because it's got free parking.
- 1:14SPEAKER_05: We like to mention that every time because it's such a bonus.
- 1:16SPEAKER_05: Hey, welcome everyone.
- 1:18SPEAKER_05: We've got a lot coming up uh this week in Las Vegas, but something that happened last week was a huge announcement that is going to affect the whole city come April.
- 1:27SPEAKER_05: And for those of you listening, this is probably something you're going to want to be a part of.
- 1:31SPEAKER_11: Well, and it's something it's the NFL draft, the 2020 NFL draft is being held here in Las Vegas.
- 1:37SPEAKER_11: And this is something that not only uh the the football world is going to be paying attention to, but last year's draft was watched by more than a hundred countries around the world.
- 1:50SPEAKER_11: So to say that the spotlight's gonna be on Vegas is an understatement here.
- 1:54SPEAKER_05: Right, and last year it was in Nashville, right?
- 1:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:56SPEAKER_05: And there was a sea of people.
- 1:58SPEAKER_05: I remember watching the live feeds, uh, what six hundred thousand people?
- 2:02SPEAKER_11: Six hundred thousand people were in Nashville, yeah.
- 2:04SPEAKER_05: Incredible.
- 2:05SPEAKER_05: And they're expecting around that to come to Las Vegas April 23rd to the 25th for the same exact reason.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: And I mean, you think about Las Vegas, and you know, Nashville's a great entertainment city as well, and lots to do, but I mean, we have a lot to do.
- 2:20SPEAKER_11: We've been able to see just how the NFL is planning to transform Las Vegas for this huge event.
- 2:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, it looks incredible.
- 2:29SPEAKER_05: So the stage is going to be floating in the Bellagio fountains, like what?
- 2:35SPEAKER_11: It's crazy.
- 2:36SPEAKER_11: They're gonna be ferrying the players via boat out to the stage that's also gonna be doing double duty as a red carpet.
- 2:44SPEAKER_11: But it's a pretty cool looking thing.
- 2:46SPEAKER_11: And if you want to look at uh the renderings that have been created, we have those up on our Vegas Revealed YouTube page.
- 2:51SPEAKER_11: Just search Vegas Revealed and look under the Vegas Revealed experiences, and you'll see exactly what we're talking about here.
- 2:58SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 2:58SPEAKER_05: It's incredible.
- 2:59SPEAKER_05: The plans are incredible, and then Caesars is on board too, right?
- 3:02SPEAKER_05: As far as their new area that's across the street from the Bellagio and more kind of behind the link.
- 3:07SPEAKER_05: It's the Caesars Forum.
- 3:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah, so this is their new convention space, essentially, but there's a huge parking lot that's out right next to this convention building, and they're turning this into the fan zone.
- 3:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean it's gonna be incredible.
- 3:20SPEAKER_05: We look forward to just another big event here in Las Vegas.
- 3:23SPEAKER_05: But you know what?
- 3:24SPEAKER_05: We just we we our city handles big events, you know, really well.
- 3:29SPEAKER_05: We know how to organize, organize quick, and I think it's gonna be it's gonna be an amazing event.
- 3:35SPEAKER_11: Well, and speaking of big events, we have one coming up this weekend, the Super Bowl.
- 3:40SPEAKER_11: We have uh the Chiefs and the 49ers playing.
- 3:43SPEAKER_05: And aside from you overwhelmed or underwhelmed with that?
- 3:46SPEAKER_05: I'm kind of underwhelmed, but uh don't don't hate me, everyone.
- 3:50SPEAKER_05: But you know why?
- 3:51SPEAKER_05: I think because we're from the East Coast.
- 3:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and that makes sense that make we live in the West Coast, we're from the East Coast, and there's no really East Coast teams in it.
- 3:59SPEAKER_11: No, there's not, and I I wonder what that's gonna do for for viewership.
- 4:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I wonder.
- 4:02SPEAKER_11: Because it is, it's like m a Midwest team, Kansas City taking on San Francisco, so you know you you gotta wonder.
- 4:09SPEAKER_11: Having a a big um, you know, if you have uh a a New York team or New England, like that draws in a lot of fans.
- 4:17SPEAKER_11: People are gonna be watching Super Bowl anyway because there's not anything else on.
- 4:21SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 4:22SPEAKER_05: And then of course, you know, the the Chiefs and the 49ers fans that are listening, sorry.
- 4:27SPEAKER_05: Um, no offense, it's gonna be a great game, and congratulations to getting this far.
- 4:31SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be it's gonna be awesome.
- 4:32SPEAKER_11: This is what you call digging ourselves out of a hole.
- 4:34SPEAKER_05: It is.
- 4:35SPEAKER_05: But listen, the Super Bowl, no matter what team you're cheering for, it doesn't matter when you're in Las Vegas.
- 4:40SPEAKER_05: That's why we're like the number two destination for people to watch the Super Bowl behind the Super Bowl.
- 4:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, if you're not at the Super Bowl, right?
- 4:47SPEAKER_05: Because you can bet in our in all these different things and whether you know the game really well, or you know, you can do scores, you can do what color the Gatorade is, the coin flip, all sorts of stuff.
- 4:57SPEAKER_05: So it's really fun experience just to watch the game and see what you bet on.
- 5:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I'm uh I'm always into those prop bets.
- 5:04SPEAKER_11: And I I get my uh the stopwatch out on my phone and time how long the national anthem is going to be.
- 5:10SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
- 5:10SPEAKER_11: So that's gonna be good.
- 5:11SPEAKER_11: And we have what uh Demi Lovato singing the national anthem, and uh Jennifer Lopez and Shakir are doing the halftime show, so it's gonna be good.
- 5:19SPEAKER_05: Should be really good.
- 5:20SPEAKER_05: Uh well yeah, and we talked to uh Chef here from uh Legossi Stadium and his interview is coming up in just a little bit on kind of how they prepare for the crowd.
- 5:26SPEAKER_05: They're sold out already, so I mean that's that's the thing when it comes to Super Bowl.
- 5:31SPEAKER_05: If you're listening right now and it's the beginning of the week and you plan on maybe driving into Vegas or flying into Vegas last minute, if you want to go someplace and have a seat, you better call ASAP and beg.
- 5:41SPEAKER_05: And beg and call.
- 5:43SPEAKER_05: But even just walking around and walking to the sports book, it's an experience regardless.
- 5:47SPEAKER_05: So we do recommend that you come to Vegas, of course.
- 5:49SPEAKER_05: That's kind of the fun part of it anyway.
- 5:51SPEAKER_11: So yeah, and so we'll be talking with the chef from here at Legacy Stadium to see how he and his team are preparing for this massive Super Bowl weekend.
- 5:59SPEAKER_11: 300,000 people expected.
- 6:01SPEAKER_11: It's gonna be incredible.
- 6:02SPEAKER_05: Hey, something that has uh everyone also talking really around the world, or these this this bushfire in Australia.
- 6:08SPEAKER_05: It's been devastating to watch, and we have a group of headliners here, and they perform at the Venetian Human Nature.
- 6:16SPEAKER_05: Uh, they're incredible.
- 6:17SPEAKER_05: They've been here just over ten years now as Vegas headliners, and they did something really cool just last weekend.
- 6:24SPEAKER_05: They had a concert and uh their normal show, I should say, and dedicated all the ticket sales to relief for the fire and to help, and the Venetian also matched that.
- 6:36SPEAKER_11: We had a chance to talk with them at their theater before they did this big benefit show.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, we were actually back there in early December, and even back then when we were in Sydney, there was smoke and haze everywhere, and it was just you know, it was just really sort of evading in the whole city and you know, all we can really do is use our gifts and antenna to try and bring awareness and raise money and um whatever we can with us that we just decided to put a show on the town and dedicate every single to really you know when people are down and all the things that are you know uh really interesting people to bring out the best within themselves.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: We're also actually taking donations um people at the show.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: We're currently doing that, and people are just being so generous.
- 7:19SPEAKER_05: Great group of guys, super talented.
- 7:21SPEAKER_05: You can see the full interview on our YouTube page, our Vegas revealed YouTube page, and we talked to them uh just before their show last week.
- 7:30SPEAKER_05: So check that out.
- 7:31SPEAKER_05: And they perform at the Venetian on a regular basis, and they say they're looking forward to a really great 2020.
- 7:37SPEAKER_05: They'll be here um with some new stuff in their show and always changing it up.
- 7:40SPEAKER_11: And human nature, just a part of the incredible lineup of headliners that we have here in Las Vegas.
- 7:47SPEAKER_11: Coming up next, we're talking with the president of Live Nation, the guy who's responsible for bringing us all these resident headliners.
- 7:59SPEAKER_08: Let's go inside, it's baby, let's go inside, let's go.
- 8:05SPEAKER_05: Thanks for listening to Vegas Revealed.
- 8:08SPEAKER_05: On our next episode, we'll be on the casino floor at the Hard Rock as the doors are ready to close on the iconic resort after 25 years.
- 8:16SPEAKER_05: We'll hear never before shared stories of the first concert held there and how the Hard Rock changed the celebrity culture of Las Vegas.
- 8:23SPEAKER_05: Plus, what the future holds there.
- 8:25SPEAKER_05: It's a special edition from the Hard Rock Casino on the next Vegas Reveal.
- 8:36SPEAKER_11: So obviously, we know Las Vegas is the live entertainment capital of the world.
- 8:40SPEAKER_11: We have like the A-list of A-list entertainers who are performing at the theaters up and down the Las Vegas strip.
- 8:48SPEAKER_05: And you know, it's super exciting because things kind of shift all the time.
- 8:50SPEAKER_05: There's always things changing.
- 8:51SPEAKER_05: There's, you know, the even the performers are always changing.
- 8:55SPEAKER_05: So we've got the person, you know, pretty much responsible for all of this in the studio with us.
- 9:00SPEAKER_05: He's laughing right now, Kurt Malin from Live Nation here in Las Vegas.
- 9:04SPEAKER_05: Welcome.
- 9:04SPEAKER_07: Thanks for having me.
- 9:05SPEAKER_07: Happy to be here.
- 9:06SPEAKER_05: It's exciting times.
- 9:07SPEAKER_05: Just like within the last, what, six months?
- 9:10SPEAKER_05: You know, you've announced Kelly Clarkson's coming to the strip.
- 9:13SPEAKER_05: We've got Sting coming.
- 9:15SPEAKER_05: Obviously, Gaga's here, uh, has been here, Shania's already performing.
- 9:19SPEAKER_05: I mean, so what do you do to get these guys?
- 9:21SPEAKER_07: It's changed a lot, and it's gotten a lot easier to attract artists, truthfully, um, because you know, artists talk to other artists.
- 9:32SPEAKER_07: The more artists that have success in Vegas, the more artists that follow those successful artists of Vegas.
- 9:38SPEAKER_07: So we've got, you know, a long, you know, we've got a 10-15-year history now of great success stories, right?
- 9:45SPEAKER_07: From Celine to Ellen John into Cher into Britney Spears into Jennifer Lopez into The Backstreet Boys into Lady Gaga, you know, kind of in a nutshell.
- 9:54SPEAKER_07: And there's many others and a few big ones that I probably left off the list.
- 9:57SPEAKER_07: Um so we've got uh you know a big collection of artists now, and we now use that storyline sort of openly with artists we're trying to attract.
- 10:11SPEAKER_07: You know, and I think um it's starting to sell itself in that way.
- 10:16SPEAKER_07: You know, we we don't have to convince artists.
- 10:21SPEAKER_07: They don't have to hear from me as much anymore, or Chris Baldazan or Jason Gasworth, or the the the entertainment casino executive entertainment executives out there.
- 10:29SPEAKER_07: They sort of they kind of have a pretty good sense of it.
- 10:32SPEAKER_05: Tell me about kind of over the last few years, things have changed a little bit of of the kind of revolving shows.
- 10:38SPEAKER_05: That was kind of a new concept as far as, you know, like say Christina Aguilera coming in for two weeks, leaving, then you've got Shania Twain coming in for a few weeks, leaving, Gwen Stefani comes back in.
- 10:49SPEAKER_05: Why does that work?
- 10:51SPEAKER_05: Does it work better?
- 10:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's a great question.
- 10:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 10:53SPEAKER_07: I mean, I listen, you know, we are looking as the city's now more mature as it relates to sort of the residency stuff, we look for diversity.
- 11:04SPEAKER_07: Uh and and probably there should have been always diversity.
- 11:08SPEAKER_07: That, however, there weren't that many artists raising their hands saying, I want to do Vegas, right?
- 11:14SPEAKER_07: So now we have the luxury of presenting a portfolio of artists that speak to a lot of different fans.
- 11:22SPEAKER_07: Because, you know, as we all know, we all like different things and we all like different artists.
- 11:26SPEAKER_07: And so the idea here, especially when you're talking about promoting the city of Vegas, which is really what I'm doing, really what I think about doing every day, is how do I think about attracting, you know, more, you know, how do I contribute to the growth of those 41 and 42 million people?
- 11:42SPEAKER_07: We want a diverse portfolio of artists that speak to a wide genre of fans.
- 11:48SPEAKER_07: And that is the idea of the revolving portfolio.
- 11:52SPEAKER_07: You know, you you sort of have some of these sort of cynics type say, well, this isn't a real residency because it's not on 200 shows.
- 11:59SPEAKER_07: You know, well, I don't really get that.
- 12:01SPEAKER_07: You know, you know, first of all, why is it defined by number of shows?
- 12:05SPEAKER_07: But also, you know, we want a port we want diversity in our lineup.
- 12:08SPEAKER_07: If you walk down the strip, you know you're gonna see diversity.
- 12:11SPEAKER_07: We want the entertainment to reflect that.
- 12:12SPEAKER_11: Well, and and speaking of diversity, uh last week on the the podcast, we talked with Mike Snediger from the Tau Group, and he was talking about the the shift in the entertainers who they're booking for nightclubs on the strip, and it's skewing as we move ahead into the new year toward Latin artists.
- 12:30SPEAKER_11: And I know that that Pitbull has been incredibly successful, Jennifer Lopez has been incredibly successful.
- 12:36SPEAKER_11: Is that something that that we might see more of in the residency world too?
- 12:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you know, without you know, without even having to go into the sort of the data of it and sort of how do you reflect the population and the taste of music, I mean that's that sums it up.
- 12:49SPEAKER_07: I mean, it sums up my point.
- 12:50SPEAKER_07: It it it illustrates the point I just made, which is you want you want diversity, right?
- 12:54SPEAKER_07: You're gonna sell you're gonna sell classic rock, you're gonna sell some Latin, you're gonna sell some you know pop, you're gonna sell some contemporary, adult contemporary, and the list goes on.
- 13:02SPEAKER_07: And that's the idea.
- 13:03SPEAKER_07: That that's been the idea of how to grow this business for us alive nation, for the casinos, and and and you know, especially for the city.
- 13:12SPEAKER_05: And I think like uh I know it's important for you guys to get those tickets on sale early too, because you have tourists coming in and travelers coming in who want to know, okay, my person's performing this time, um, so I need to get my tickets, lock in my whole trip, and everything like that.
- 13:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I mean we're proud of, you know, we're uh we're really proud of the advanced, quote, advanced sales that we drive, which for us people in the business, we're talking about trip drivers, right?
- 13:39SPEAKER_07: So you're talking to the LVCBA or a casino executive, a marketer, what's sort of an in-market sale versus a trip driver.
- 13:47SPEAKER_07: Um, we're proud that we can point to our advanced sales and our quick advanced sales typically in some of these on sales to show that we are really the trip driver.
- 13:56SPEAKER_07: And a lot of the surveys over the last 10-15 years by the LVCBA or by casino, the larger casino, say that entertainment is at the top or near the top as it relates to why people come to Las Vegas.
- 14:08SPEAKER_07: But you know, we know for a fact that a big part of our residency sales are are trip drivers in the sense that people are people see uh Sting.
- 14:19SPEAKER_07: You know, someone in the UK sees that Sting is announcing a residency at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace and they book a trip to Vegas.
- 14:26SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 14:26SPEAKER_05: And that's just a you know, benefits the whole city, right?
- 14:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:29SPEAKER_11: It's actually uh almost sixty percent of people who come to Las Vegas are coming to see some sort of a show, which is uh a big number.
- 14:39SPEAKER_11: A huge number.
- 14:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 14:41SPEAKER_11: Go ahead.
- 14:43SPEAKER_11: Let's get into how things have changed.
- 14:46SPEAKER_11: Obviously, Celine Dion, she sat down at the Coliseum and did years of shows uh pretty much nonstop.
- 14:55SPEAKER_11: Is that a thing of the past?
- 14:56SPEAKER_11: Is that Celine model of residency something that we'll see again?
- 15:01SPEAKER_11: Or are are, like Dana said, these shorter stints kind of the norm moving ahead?
- 15:06SPEAKER_07: I think overall the live music business has a lot more choices for artists.
- 15:13SPEAKER_07: So artists that want to perform on the live stage have more choices than they ever have.
- 15:20SPEAKER_07: What I mean by that is they can tour more easily internationally now.
- 15:26SPEAKER_07: They can do festivals, which are much more prolific than they were, let's call it, in the 90s.
- 15:30SPEAKER_07: They basically didn't exist.
- 15:32SPEAKER_07: Uh so you got the festivals, you got the international touring, you know, you have uh, you know, a larger proliferation of theaters around the country, you got more stadiums, stadium business is a little bit more advanced than it used to be or sophisticated.
- 15:47SPEAKER_07: So I think artists have more choices than ever.
- 15:51SPEAKER_07: I you know, not many artists these days choose to do a hundred and fifty shows a year in one kind of category, whether that's in a theater in Vegas or just festivals or just touring or whatever it might be.
- 16:07SPEAKER_07: So I don't think those that that that is not past, it's just the artists have a lot of choices.
- 16:11SPEAKER_07: So just by organic it's organic organically, you're seeing artists doing a f a few less shows in Vegas in a given year than they might have in the past, which just makes room for others.
- 16:22SPEAKER_07: So it really is we're generally neutral, right?
- 16:25SPEAKER_07: We we say to the artist, what do you want to do?
- 16:27SPEAKER_07: What makes you happy?
- 16:29SPEAKER_07: Uh and you know, and and they'll tell us.
- 16:31SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's okay.
- 16:32SPEAKER_05: Well, what are things like the the Raider Stadium coming, the sphere?
- 16:36SPEAKER_05: What does that mean for Live Nation?
- 16:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I mean the we are uh a representation, I think, of of Vegas as a city and how we compete with Orlando and New York and Tokyo, and you know, the list goes on.
- 16:50SPEAKER_07: Uh I think those venues just give us additional ammunition.
- 16:53SPEAKER_07: I mean, that's how we think about it.
- 16:55SPEAKER_07: We aren't um traditional venue, we Lat Nation uh in Las Vegas aren't traditional venue owners.
- 17:01SPEAKER_07: So the owners are typically the casinos in almost every occasion, with the exception of the stadium, which is of course run by the Raiders and you know, obviously um supported by the city or the state.
- 17:11SPEAKER_07: Um so we think about that as ammunition.
- 17:13SPEAKER_07: Like we we think you know, we we want that portfolio in the city because we want to be able to offer entertainment that rivals other cities or beats them, and that's the sphere story, I think, right?
- 17:24SPEAKER_07: It's like okay, you're gonna have one sphere, and then maybe two, and then maybe there's a few others down the line.
- 17:29SPEAKER_07: Not my not my project, that's you know, MSG's project, but we look at it and say that's fantastic, right?
- 17:36SPEAKER_07: Because we can potentially offer content in that room that rivals Orlando, Tokyo, London, New York.
- 17:44SPEAKER_07: And that's the story.
- 17:44SPEAKER_07: That's what we're trying to do here.
- 17:46SPEAKER_07: Okay, yeah.
- 17:47SPEAKER_05: And now let's get to the fun stuff.
- 17:48SPEAKER_05: What's a day like for Kurt and Malene?
- 17:51SPEAKER_05: Now, Sean and I go to a lot of things, openings, shows, and Kurt, you're always there.
- 17:57SPEAKER_05: And sometimes you're in there watching, or sometimes you're out mingling and and and perusing around.
- 18:03SPEAKER_11: I can't wait to hear what a day in the life of Kurt is.
- 18:05SPEAKER_05: So I'm excited to hear.
- 18:06SPEAKER_05: I mean, your your day is work and a lot of making relationships with people, keeping relationships with people.
- 18:12SPEAKER_05: I I can assume.
- 18:13SPEAKER_05: And you look like you have fun doing it.
- 18:15SPEAKER_05: Every time I see you, there's a smile on your face.
- 18:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah, we um, you know, there's definitely the the parts you're talking to right now, there's an element of of um you know servicing the artist in the sense that the artist and and again that that sort of collection, a team, personal manager, business manager, attorney, etc.
- 18:33SPEAKER_07: You know, is it you know, we are the contact sort of for that business, for their business here in Vegas, and so we're we're at these shows a lot, um, having conversations about the day-to-day business, and that's just a big part of what we do and what I do.
- 18:45SPEAKER_07: So it's a lot of nights, it's a lot of shows.
- 18:48SPEAKER_07: Um and then we spend a lot of time um thinking about the next artist, you know.
- 18:55SPEAKER_07: Um and then we spend a lot of time, probably the most amount of time, thinking about how to sell tickets.
- 19:02SPEAKER_07: People forget that.
- 19:03SPEAKER_05: It's a bit it's a big that's a it's a big undertaking.
- 19:06SPEAKER_05: It's not as easy as people think sometimes.
- 19:08SPEAKER_05: That's right.
- 19:08SPEAKER_07: And I'm and you know, Amanda Moore runs our head of marketing here in the in you know, here in Vegas, and you know, we we spend a lot of time thinking about our programs and and how we do it, and that's a big part of the story here, you know, is is a big part of it is the advanced sales story, which is how are we incenting, how are we reaching an artist, you know, an artist like you know, how are we reaching that fan in Liverpool that wants to come out to see Stink?
- 19:29SPEAKER_07: Uh, you know, how are we reaching customers in other countries?
- 19:32SPEAKER_07: You know, how are we talking to the US?
- 19:34SPEAKER_07: And then of course, how are we talking to customers that are here in market?
- 19:37SPEAKER_07: Um this isn't you know, there's no rocket science here necessarily, but you know, it's it's it's it's a big part of the business that we do.
- 19:43SPEAKER_07: Because that's the key.
- 19:44SPEAKER_07: I mean, you the key is you gotta get people in the door.
- 19:46SPEAKER_07: And I've always said this, like, we feel like we're selling, we like to be proud of our content.
- 19:51SPEAKER_07: Um, we feel like we, you know, the the people that choose to invest in their time and money in these shows tend to leave pretty happy.
- 20:00SPEAKER_07: You know, and we and you know, so we we think that we have this kind of virtuous thing, like where we're like, you know, we need to be we need to be hustling hard to get that person off the street.
- 20:08SPEAKER_07: Don't spend$36 plus tax on like a giant, you know, a giant like inflatable thing that you can drink a margarita out of or something.
- 20:17SPEAKER_07: You know, like you know, spend that money and sit like in an affordable ticket and go see stink.
- 20:22SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 20:22SPEAKER_07: Or whatever, or Questifani or whoever.
- 20:24SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 20:24SPEAKER_07: And so we think about that a lot, like, because there's a lot of kind of sort of cacophony of silliness here in Vegas, and you can easily, your day can be gone before you know it, and you've you know, you you've forgotten basically where you are, you drank too much, whatever.
- 20:37SPEAKER_07: So we we you know, I I think about this a lot.
- 20:39SPEAKER_07: Like, how do we get these folks into these shows?
- 20:42SPEAKER_07: And how do we get these people, convince these people that are on the fence to buy a ticket?
- 20:46SPEAKER_07: Because we do believe, I do, I mean, strongly believe that if they buy that ticket and they go to the show, they're gonna have that memory, and they're gonna take it home, they're gonna tell that story about Vegas.
- 20:55SPEAKER_11: So I know it's you know, probably trying to squeeze water out of a stone to to get it out of you who is coming next.
- 21:03SPEAKER_11: But is there somebody who has repeatedly said no who you've wanted and and tried to have conversations with uh ad nauseum and they it just hasn't worked out.
- 21:15SPEAKER_11: They're just not interested in Vegas.
- 21:17SPEAKER_07: I think there's two spectrums there, and we will we are cracking this egg.
- 21:20SPEAKER_07: The Sega is already kind of cracking, but there's two spectrums.
- 21:23SPEAKER_07: Is one like the sort of the young, you know, the young pop, you know, fresh new young pop, like breaking fresh new young pop.
- 21:31SPEAKER_07: That's that's always been tough because Vegas still has a stigma there, right?
- 21:34SPEAKER_07: You still have this, you sort of have this Britney Spears sort of, I think she started, she's 31 when she started.
- 21:39SPEAKER_07: So that age is kind of we got that figured out, right?
- 21:41SPEAKER_07: And we've got Backstreet Boys and a few others that have fit into that category.
- 21:45SPEAKER_07: So it's younger than that, that skewing younger, right?
- 21:47SPEAKER_07: Because we know the audience is here and they'll travel, right?
- 21:50SPEAKER_07: We know the 21 year olds are here, right?
- 21:52SPEAKER_07: So, you know, those artists like a BTS kind of artist?
- 21:55SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I mean, like a like a or younger, right?
- 21:57SPEAKER_07: Like a like a like a and again, you know, this is maybe even this is not.
- 22:00SPEAKER_07: Maybe not super fresh.
- 22:00SPEAKER_07: Mariana Grande or something.
- 22:02SPEAKER_07: Mariana or Selena or a you know Ed Sheeran, uh, you know, or an art, you know, these artists that sort of live, you know, Bieber's these, and again, these are now into their almost into their late 20s, early 30s.
- 22:13SPEAKER_07: So but you get my I you get my point.
- 22:15SPEAKER_07: Billy Eilish, like Billy, do you want to come and say do 10 shows, 25 shows?
- 22:18SPEAKER_07: Like, do you know that that's a tough conversation to have?
- 22:21SPEAKER_07: Um, and one that we I know will crack soon.
- 22:24SPEAKER_07: Um that still sort of sits out there as part of the genre diversification strategy, right?
- 22:31SPEAKER_07: Like how do we present age and demo and you know, genre.
- 22:36SPEAKER_07: The other side of it is sort of the like too cool for school, you know, uh rock stuff, right?
- 22:42SPEAKER_07: Which we've cracked pretty much, right?
- 22:44SPEAKER_07: We did this run, we did a month with Def Leper.
- 22:47SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that was amazing, which was incredible, right?
- 22:49SPEAKER_07: Um, you know, we've seen some of this other rock happen, but we'd love to see a big, big Foo Fighters deal.
- 22:56SPEAKER_07: We'd love to see a big Guns N' Roses deal.
- 22:59SPEAKER_07: We'd love to see a big, you know, I don't know, Pearl Jam deal.
- 23:03SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 23:03SPEAKER_07: You know, so these are the that's the other, that's the genre that sort of hasn't been quite cracked yet.
- 23:08SPEAKER_07: Um and those are the ones where we're kind of we're just waiting sort of for that, right?
- 23:11SPEAKER_07: Like for that artist to kind of be like, oh wait, yeah, oh, oh yeah, wait, we can do this next year?
- 23:15SPEAKER_07: Yes, yes, let's do that.
- 23:16SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 23:16SPEAKER_07: Um and that sort of you know is is is exciting.
- 23:19SPEAKER_07: I mean, we've gotta sort of pay the bills still, right?
- 23:22SPEAKER_07: We've got lots of other artists that um you know that we continue to work on that have that have genres that we've seen, you know, you know, in re repetition over the years, and you know, we got 42 million people coming here every year that that want to see that kind of stuff, so that's it's working great.
- 23:36SPEAKER_05: But as far as the the future stuff you know goes, that's I want to quickly kind of go back to when you were talking about, you know, maybe skip the yard drink and and get a seat in the back.
- 23:47SPEAKER_05: But we have a lot of people we know that uh listen for a lot of the tips that we give out and things are helpful.
- 23:51SPEAKER_05: What do you if people are listening and they're thinking, okay, I'm really hoping he's gonna tell me how I should go about planning, but like what do you recommend people do to maybe save themselves some money but also have a really good experience?
- 24:05SPEAKER_05: Whether it's maybe buy, I don't know, two two shows and and one's close and one you're in the back, or you know what I mean?
- 24:13SPEAKER_05: Or if you should just go all in, you know.
- 24:15SPEAKER_05: I mean, I don't know, or get that table service.
- 24:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah, or get it, get it a certain amount of time early, like in a time a certain time frame.
- 24:21SPEAKER_05: Maybe you wait, or how yeah, what's the best thing?
- 24:23SPEAKER_07: I think so.
- 24:24SPEAKER_07: The first thing is I think there's a we we know from you know from SARS, you know, we know from our research that people think that these these tickets are more expensive than they are, first off, right?
- 24:34SPEAKER_07: So go look and see what they actually cost.
- 24:37SPEAKER_07: Now, if you're talking about the top of the top of the top and it's fresh and it's new, you know, you know, use Lady I Lady Gaga a year ago when it announced as an example.
- 24:46SPEAKER_07: Yes, I mean those are that is that is everybody wants the same ticket.
- 24:49SPEAKER_07: Sure, it's an expensive ticket for sure, right?
- 24:52SPEAKER_07: But as those days continue, um, and you know, or and or there's there's artists, you know, that that aren't quite, you know, in the same situation, you we we have pretty affordable tickets.
- 25:03SPEAKER_07: I mean, we work hard with the artists to keep some level of tickets affordable.
- 25:08SPEAKER_07: So, you know, go look, first of all, on the primary site, right?
- 25:11SPEAKER_07: So on the casino run site, right?
- 25:14SPEAKER_07: Don't get trapped by the ads.
- 25:16SPEAKER_07: Uh, when you Google the artist's name, you'll see lots of ads for sort of third-party sites, brokers, scalpers, etc.
- 25:23SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 25:23SPEAKER_07: So go right to the casino webpage, follow the link, and get to the map and pick your ticket, right?
- 25:27SPEAKER_07: That's the way to buy a ticket.
- 25:29SPEAKER_07: Um, you know, as far as deals go, I you know, I think you know, look out for promotions.
- 25:34SPEAKER_07: I mean, I I I we do uh we in the casinos often will you know do seasonal promotions to push our tickets um because you know we're promoters by definition, right?
- 25:45SPEAKER_07: So, you know, whether that's a Valentine's Day promotion or the New Year's promotion or the start of summer promotion, July 4th promotion, you know, we we push, we do work pretty hard to try to offer those kind of opportunities to fans that are watching for them.
- 25:56SPEAKER_07: Um and that's that's you know that's the best I got for now.
- 25:59SPEAKER_05: I agree because sometimes people would be like, I really it's my dream to see Celine.
- 26:03SPEAKER_05: And I was like, buy a balcony seat.
- 26:05SPEAKER_05: Look on they don't I think they just automatically think it's so expensive.
- 26:09SPEAKER_05: But like you can go up there for 49 plus taxes and sit in the back balcony and you're still saying, I saw Celine, I had the experience, I listened to her sing live.
- 26:17SPEAKER_05: 100%.
- 26:17SPEAKER_07: And these aren't big theaters, right?
- 26:19SPEAKER_07: I mean, they're relatively small in the grand scheme of things, right?
- 26:21SPEAKER_07: These are four to five thousand seat rooms, and most of the time when you're seeing an arena in your hometown, it's in an arena that's so if you're seeing a an artist in your hometown, it's usually in a in a in a in a sports arena, which is you know not always an ideal place to see to see a show, unless it's a brand new room, you know, and then it's a little better.
- 26:39SPEAKER_11: But in in just the way that theaters themselves have kind of evolved over the past 15 years is an another aspect to what these what draws these entertainers here.
- 26:52SPEAKER_11: When when the park opened up, that's right.
- 26:55SPEAKER_11: I mean, that theater uh had so many aspects to draw new artists that that other theaters in the city didn't have.
- 27:04SPEAKER_11: How has that evolved?
- 27:05SPEAKER_07: Oh I mean, it's it's so spot on, and and I, for fear of being redundant, you know, on some of this stuff, you know, the the asset itself, the theater itself, is probably fundamentally the most important thing in in talking to an artist, right?
- 27:21SPEAKER_07: The the artist has to be super comfortable.
- 27:22SPEAKER_07: Once they select Vegas, and then they sort of select their theater.
- 27:25SPEAKER_07: And by the way, Vegas doesn't exist without the theaters, right?
- 27:28SPEAKER_07: Because you can tell you no one's playing a parking lot, right?
- 27:30SPEAKER_07: You hear this kind of stuff like, oh yeah, just we'll do a food fighter show on the back of the parking lot in the room.
- 27:34SPEAKER_07: No, you're not.
- 27:35SPEAKER_07: Like Dave Roll's not playing your parking lot.
- 27:37SPEAKER_07: This is not happening, right?
- 27:38SPEAKER_07: Like, like he's got, you know, he has he has one, he has literally 900 offers to play the biggest stadiums in the world.
- 27:45SPEAKER_07: No.
- 27:46SPEAKER_07: So, you know, you the I I constantly remind people that this the theater matters so much.
- 27:50SPEAKER_07: And City's done an amazing job with their theaters, the casinos specifically, right?
- 27:55SPEAKER_07: They've they've really doubled down on the residency idea.
- 27:58SPEAKER_07: You know, a lot of theaters in the world that are the best theaters in the world don't dedicate the kind of inventory, day monthly, weekly inventory to residencies.
- 28:08SPEAKER_07: That's why they don't exist, pretty much.
- 28:11SPEAKER_07: There's other reasons, right?
- 28:12SPEAKER_07: Vegas has done an amazing job of packaging the dream of coming to see an artist, etc.
- 28:16SPEAKER_07: etc.
- 28:16SPEAKER_07: But you know, you know, you have Lincoln Center, it's got the Philharmonic, it has the ballet, it has the, you know, it has residence, right?
- 28:26SPEAKER_07: There's 40 weeks of programming.
- 28:28SPEAKER_07: You might be able to get, if you're a promoter, right, you might be able to promote one Bacelli show in there, but you get like one day.
- 28:34SPEAKER_07: You know, so Radio City's not that different.
- 28:36SPEAKER_07: Um, you know, you go into London, it's not that different, or you go to Tokyo, it's not that different.
- 28:39SPEAKER_07: So we're really, really lucky that the casinos have seen the value.
- 28:42SPEAKER_07: Again, Celine's sort of, I think she's we give her, I think she gets all the credit for that.
- 28:47SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 28:47SPEAKER_07: She sort of proved, hey, if you give me a room, it will be amazing.
- 28:51SPEAKER_07: Um and the and and and what you've seen is Caesars Entertainment and MGM have doubled down with their capital, with their commitments to build these, to maintain these, and to specifically protect them for residents.
- 29:06SPEAKER_07: That's the key.
- 29:07SPEAKER_07: It's easy to give it away.
- 29:09SPEAKER_07: Give it to uh Microsoft, you can do anything.
- 29:12SPEAKER_07: Um and it might even be more lucrative, I don't know.
- 29:15SPEAKER_07: But the truth is, is they recognize the value the entertainment drives if the residencies drive, and that is why we're competitive.
- 29:20SPEAKER_07: That is why we own this sort of genre, this residency thing.
- 29:24SPEAKER_07: We own it globally for that reason.
- 29:26SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 29:27SPEAKER_05: I like to I went to Jason Al Dean recently and they took out all the seats in the front and made a big pit, and you kind of felt like you were at a festival.
- 29:33SPEAKER_05: They had like a food card and drink card out there.
- 29:36SPEAKER_05: It was the whole experience changed from when I was there for Janet Jackson, you know?
- 29:40SPEAKER_05: Well, and that's the thing.
- 29:40SPEAKER_11: These venues, they're they're not necessarily sitting venues anymore.
- 29:44SPEAKER_11: That's right.
- 29:45SPEAKER_07: Yeah, there's multi- yeah.
- 29:46SPEAKER_07: I mean, the idea is to, again, back to the diversity.
- 29:48SPEAKER_07: You want to be able to diversify the portfolio to attract the largest audience.
- 29:52SPEAKER_07: We kind of vegas.
- 29:53SPEAKER_07: That these designers at the casinos that are building these are working with designers who are gonna give you as much flexibility as you can because artists specifically require desire slash require a certain layout for what they want to do.
- 30:04SPEAKER_07: Um, and you're disqualified if you don't have the right layout.
- 30:08SPEAKER_05: And I'm looking forward to Sting.
- 30:10SPEAKER_05: He said he's gonna like tell his life through his music videos or something.
- 30:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that looks great.
- 30:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, something different.
- 30:16SPEAKER_07: Again, what a creative genius.
- 30:17SPEAKER_07: I'm incredible what he's doing.
- 30:18SPEAKER_07: You know, he's been on Broadway, you know, he has the last ship he's touring with, which is his Broadway project.
- 30:22SPEAKER_07: I mean, these people are amazing, you know.
- 30:24SPEAKER_07: And and and what they're doing on stage is just spectacular.
- 30:29SPEAKER_05: You know, I have a feeling RuPaul's gonna have a great stage presence as well.
- 30:33SPEAKER_05: Always.
- 30:34SPEAKER_07: Always, right?
- 30:35SPEAKER_07: That shows gonna be a lot of fun.
- 30:36SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it is.
- 30:37SPEAKER_07: It's um it's nice uh to see um, you know, it's nice to see to see commit big, you know, new stuff, right?
- 30:44SPEAKER_07: I mean, that's what's fun.
- 30:45SPEAKER_07: I mean, it's just nice to see new genres popping up that are working.
- 30:48SPEAKER_07: I mean, that's the the the good news, right?
- 30:50SPEAKER_07: Is that we're talking about diversity because it's working.
- 30:53SPEAKER_07: You know, if it wasn't working, I wouldn't we wouldn't be talking about it.
- 30:57SPEAKER_07: True.
- 30:57SPEAKER_05: So true.
- 30:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 30:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 30:58SPEAKER_05: I mean, if you look across all the shows, it's just there really is something for everyone.
- 31:02SPEAKER_05: And then and then some that cross over.
- 31:04SPEAKER_05: You know?
- 31:04SPEAKER_05: Like I like I'd go, you know, I'd go to Aerosmith and I'd go to Gwen Stefani, you know, completely different, but yeah.
- 31:10SPEAKER_11: That's right.
- 31:10SPEAKER_11: I like both.
- 31:11SPEAKER_05: That's right.
- 31:11SPEAKER_05: That's right.
- 31:12SPEAKER_11: Well, we will stay tuned for your next big announcement, the next big headliner that you're bringing to town.
- 31:18SPEAKER_11: Always appreciate your time, Kurt.
- 31:19SPEAKER_05: Oh, so fun.
- 31:19SPEAKER_05: All right, guys.
- 31:20SPEAKER_05: Kurt Malin from Live Nation.

- 32:10SPEAKER_11: All right, one of the busiest weekends in all of Las Vegas is upon us talking about Super Bowl.
- 32:16SPEAKER_11: 300,000 people coming here to the Las Vegas Strip.
- 32:20SPEAKER_05: It's literally like I feel like sometimes the biggest day of the year, and we're lucky enough to have Chef Scott Pajak with us from Legacy Stadium.
- 32:28SPEAKER_05: And you said you've been here 10 years, and this is for you, is usually the biggest day of the year when it comes to being a chef.
- 32:35SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
- 32:36SPEAKER_06: Um, I mean, there's nothing bigger than the Super Bowl.
- 32:38SPEAKER_06: So it's game day for the guys on the field and game day for you guys in the kitchen.
- 32:42SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
- 32:42SPEAKER_06: We're I mean we're prepping for several days ahead.
- 32:44SPEAKER_06: It's not just I got a game plan, I got my whole list, all spread Excel spreadsheets of what we're doing prepping each day, what food's coming in, which day.
- 32:51SPEAKER_06: It's a big weekend.
- 32:52SPEAKER_05: And the cool part is you're telling us you're sold out already.
- 32:55SPEAKER_05: You sell out well well in advance, right?
- 32:58SPEAKER_06: We opened up reservations on January 1st, and within a matter of hours it was we were sold out.
- 33:03SPEAKER_05: Wow, that's incredible.
- 33:04SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's incredible here to watch any game.
- 33:06SPEAKER_05: What you guys, the setup is amazing, definitely.
- 33:10SPEAKER_05: And you brought a little appetizer in for us to uh try here, and you said, How's bacon?
- 33:14SPEAKER_05: And Sean said, Bacon anything is great.
- 33:16SPEAKER_06: Yeah, you can't go wrong with bacon.
- 33:18SPEAKER_06: So we do a spicy candy bacon, it's a little bit of brown sugar and cayenne pepper.
- 33:22SPEAKER_06: Uh just baked off in the oven, and we do a nice uh infused organic syrup with a little bit of Woodford bourbon reserve.
- 33:28SPEAKER_06: Oh my goodness.
- 33:28SPEAKER_11: That was the smell that has already filled the studio is absolutely incredible.
- 33:33SPEAKER_11: And I mean, just looking at it, this is like thick slab bacon, too.
- 33:37SPEAKER_11: There's there's no better way to start.
- 33:39SPEAKER_11: Alright, we're trying the bacon.
- 33:40SPEAKER_05: I can't wait longer.
- 33:41SPEAKER_05: Oh, I can't either.
- 33:42SPEAKER_11: This smell, oh my gosh, it's been it's been making my my stomach rumble.
- 33:47SPEAKER_10: I was wondering, I was wondering what took so long.
- 33:48SPEAKER_10: Oh, this bacon is amazing.
- 33:52SPEAKER_10: I know I'm not supposed to talk with my mouthful, but oh my it really is.
- 33:57SPEAKER_04: It's juicy bacon.
- 33:59SPEAKER_04: It's crispy.
- 34:00SPEAKER_06: That's the thing is with the thicker coat, you get that little bit of crispness on the outside, but then it's still so it's not dried out by no means.
- 34:06SPEAKER_06: Alright.
- 34:07SPEAKER_04: Can we get this any day?
- 34:08SPEAKER_06: Yeah, this is on our regular menu every day.
- 34:10SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: Good.
- 34:11SPEAKER_06: Um like I said, it's really all there is is cayenne sugar cayenne pepper and brown sugar, that's all it is.
- 34:18SPEAKER_11: Well, and I love that.
- 34:18SPEAKER_11: The spice enough.
- 34:21SPEAKER_11: It's a nice compliment to the sweetness there.
- 34:23SPEAKER_06: So we kind of like pat it down, bake it off, and then we finish it's an organic maple bird syrup we're using, but we infuse it a little bourbon.
- 34:30SPEAKER_06: Um I don't I don't believe in cooking off the liquor in it.
- 34:33SPEAKER_06: Because I want you to taste it, then I want you to taste it.
- 34:35SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 34:35SPEAKER_11: So you get the smart man, smart man.
- 34:38SPEAKER_11: I like your philosophy.
- 34:39SPEAKER_11: Thanks.
- 34:39SPEAKER_06: Just a touch of smoke, but like a touch of liquid smoke, just to give it just a just kind of almost like a kiss of smoke to it.
- 34:44SPEAKER_05: Now, this will be one of the appetizers you guys are gonna feature, and then you were saying you do special dishes depending on who's in the Super Bowl, right?
- 34:50SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:50SPEAKER_06: I'm still trying to finalize exactly what I want to do.
- 34:52SPEAKER_06: I got I got different ideas for both teams.
- 34:54SPEAKER_06: I'm just trying to figure out exactly what which direction I'm gonna go with.
- 34:56SPEAKER_11: And uh really there is nowhere else in Las Vegas like Legacy Stadium, especially on game day, to have that atmosphere in a place like this.
- 35:06SPEAKER_06: Yeah, no, I mean, unfortunately, there there is definitely nobody else like us.
- 35:08SPEAKER_06: Um we stand out in the city as well as I think across the country as well.
- 35:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 35:12SPEAKER_06: Um we're nominated number one sports bar in 2016.
- 35:15SPEAKER_06: Oh.
- 35:16SPEAKER_11: When you guys are in the kitchen, obviously you're focused on your job, getting all the food ready for everybody who's packing Megasi Stadium.
- 35:24SPEAKER_11: But when you hear those oohs and ahs, do you guys have a TV back there so you can see what the heck is going on?
- 35:29SPEAKER_06: There's no TV, but I mean we're right, we're right in the middle.
- 35:32SPEAKER_06: You can hear it all.
- 35:32SPEAKER_06: It's you know, the guys I just kind of start laughing about, you know, and it's like it's like, oh, something something big just happened.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: Something big.
- 35:38SPEAKER_06: Or two, especially, you know, based upon the teams, you know who who's here for which team more if you have more for one crowd than the other.
- 35:44SPEAKER_05: Well, listen, good luck with Super Bowl Sunday.
- 35:46SPEAKER_05: We're excited to be here and and we know you're gonna throw a great party.
- 35:50SPEAKER_11: So absolutely.
- 35:51SPEAKER_05: All right, well, thanks for joining us.
- 35:52SPEAKER_05: No problem.
- 35:52SPEAKER_11: Thanks for having me.
- 35:54SPEAKER_11: Our two tips are next.

- 36:25SPEAKER_11: Expect something different each week on Vegas Reveal.
- 36:35SPEAKER_05: It's time for Dana John's secret Vegas Tips.
- 36:38SPEAKER_11: You know, I'm always curious what you're gonna say.
- 36:41SPEAKER_05: Well, it's funny because we had this is only our second podcast, right?
- 36:44SPEAKER_05: But I feel like the most feedback we got from podcast one was we really loved your tips.
- 36:49SPEAKER_05: Give more tips.
- 36:49SPEAKER_05: Give us more tips.
- 36:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, well, we're gonna do one, we always think we're gonna end the show with our two kind of secret tips.
- 36:54SPEAKER_05: And we say secret, we mean we've lived here a long time, 15 years, both of us, and we just learn a lot of things.
- 36:59SPEAKER_05: So sometimes we feel like we know some insider stuff that maybe some of the listeners don't.
- 37:04SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 37:04SPEAKER_05: So here's mine.
- 37:05SPEAKER_05: You ready?
- 37:06SPEAKER_11: I'm ready.
- 37:06SPEAKER_05: My tip is because people love a good steakhouse, right?
- 37:09SPEAKER_05: But in Las Vegas, we have amazing, amazing restaurants, amazing steakhouses.
- 37:13SPEAKER_05: But I feel like one of my favorite steakhouses is a gem that is, I guess, a little bit more affordable because you get more for your money.
- 37:24SPEAKER_05: And it's inside the Circus Circus, and it's called the Steakhouse.
- 37:30SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 37:30SPEAKER_05: Now, a lot of people have been to it that live here, but some people, even that live here, go, what?
- 37:34SPEAKER_05: The steakhouse is good there?
- 37:36SPEAKER_11: I've never been there.
- 37:37SPEAKER_05: Because, you know, the circus circus is older and you know, uh it's known for, you know, obviously they have the adventure dome and stuff and families.
- 37:44SPEAKER_05: So people are sometimes don't think that, you know, a killer restaurant would be inside.
- 37:49SPEAKER_05: But it's like, no, the steakhouse is one of my favorite steakhouses.
- 37:52SPEAKER_05: I take my family all the time.
- 37:53SPEAKER_05: It's been there 30 years.
- 37:55SPEAKER_05: And here's the best part because you know how the whole like a la carte thing is in now where you gotta pay the steak and the sides.
- 38:01SPEAKER_11: And the sides are separate.
- 38:02SPEAKER_05: And you want a salad, you gotta pay for that too, you want a basket of bread.
- 38:06SPEAKER_05: But the Circus Circus Steakhouse, you get this.
- 38:08SPEAKER_05: I always get the petite filet.
- 38:10SPEAKER_05: It's 35 bucks.
- 38:11SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 38:11SPEAKER_05: Sean.
- 38:12SPEAKER_05: 35 bucks, okay?
- 38:14SPEAKER_05: And then I took this from the menu because I was trying to remember.
- 38:16SPEAKER_05: I know you get a lot of sides.
- 38:18SPEAKER_05: So it always includes fresh baked breads, vegetables, and your choice of a black bean soup or house salad, garlic mashed potato, baked potato, or a side of pilaf.
- 38:30SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's a pretty good serving.
- 38:31SPEAKER_11: This is all included in that 35 bucks.
- 38:34SPEAKER_05: And listen, it's delicious.
- 38:35SPEAKER_11: Wow.
- 38:36SPEAKER_05: It's delicious, it's old school.
- 38:38SPEAKER_05: Um, the there's a little bit of an open area in the middle.
- 38:41SPEAKER_05: The wait staff is incredible.
- 38:43SPEAKER_05: They've been there, a lot of them, since it opened, and they have amazing stories to tell.
- 38:47SPEAKER_05: It's an exp it's a Vegas experience that you don't want to miss.
- 38:50SPEAKER_11: I love that.
- 38:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so the steakhouse at Circus Circus, go there.
- 38:53SPEAKER_05: Uh the regular fillet, not the petite's, only 45 bucks.
- 38:56SPEAKER_05: So, and they even let, I think it was uh my mom and I split one, and they were like, that's fine, and you guys will can do the sides, and then and then we'll just bring out one of this or one of that.
- 39:04SPEAKER_05: So it was really good.
- 39:05SPEAKER_11: Oh, that's a good one.
- 39:06SPEAKER_11: So if you're looking for a a a great meal without breaking the bank, that's a good one.
- 39:10SPEAKER_11: So last week, Dana, you talked about having uh Uber and Lyft on your on your phone.
- 39:16SPEAKER_05: Right, to compare prices.
- 39:17SPEAKER_11: And uh if you want to hear that whole tip, go back to episode one and listen to uh Dana's advice on that.
- 39:23SPEAKER_11: I have a transportation tip as well for this week.
- 39:27SPEAKER_11: So you see those double decker buses driving around all over Las Vegas, right?
- 39:32SPEAKER_11: So here's the deal.
- 39:34SPEAKER_11: They have a hop-on, hop-off, all day pass available for 45 bucks.
- 39:40SPEAKER_05: That's not bad, that's good.
- 39:42SPEAKER_11: So if you're trying, if you want to see the sites in downtown Las Vegas around Fremont Street, and then make your way uh back, I don't know, to the stratosphere, and then come down closer to the middle of the strip here at the Venetian and Palazzo and make your way down to Mandalay Bay.
- 39:58SPEAKER_11: Like this is the best way that you can get yourself around.
- 40:03SPEAKER_11: They have designated bus stops, and you do exactly what the what the pass says.
- 40:09SPEAKER_11: You hop on, hop off whenever you want.
- 40:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no, that's a steal because if you think about it, if you're leaving your hotel, you go to one spot and then another spot and another spot, you're probably up to at least$40 right there.
- 40:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah, so just look up, you could do a Google search for the the double decker bus.
- 40:26SPEAKER_11: You can look up hop on, hop off, pass.
- 40:28SPEAKER_11: Forty bucks for an adult pass, it's uh a great deal.
- 40:31SPEAKER_05: It is because some people come and some people come for to Vegas for like 10 days.
- 40:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:35SPEAKER_05: It gets pricey getting getting from around place to place.
- 40:38SPEAKER_05: I know people that always come from other countries are here for a long period of time.
- 40:41SPEAKER_05: So the hop on, hop off.
- 40:42SPEAKER_05: Great tip, Sean.
- 40:43SPEAKER_05: I love it.
- 40:44SPEAKER_05: Hey, it's been a fun show.
- 40:45SPEAKER_05: We've had some great interviews.
- 40:46SPEAKER_05: Uh, we're gearing up for Super Bowl weekend, and remember the NFL Draft 2020 coming in April here to Las Vegas.
- 40:52SPEAKER_11: And in our next episode, it's gonna be a special edition coming to you from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which is closing after more than a quarter century.
- 41:02SPEAKER_05: I know.
- 41:02SPEAKER_05: We have a lot of memories to share, and we're gonna talk with the folks who are planning the next big adventure there.
- 41:09SPEAKER_05: It's closing, but it's reopening as a Virgin Hotel.
- 41:13SPEAKER_05: And what's in store?
- 41:14SPEAKER_05: We're gonna let you know on Vegas Reveal.
- 41:15SPEAKER_05: All right, have a great day, everyone.
- 41:16SPEAKER_05: Thanks for joining us.
