The Lake Superior Zoo is hosting a real election for its very first zoo mayor — with a spiny mouse, black bear, snapping turtle, red fox, and bullfrog running for office. Designed to teach kids about democracy in a fun, hands-on way, the nonpartisan vote kicked off this past Friday. Voters in the Twin Ports can cast their ballots in person or online — and who knows?
