2:52
Speaker 5: g Good morning, how are you?
2:54
Speaker 6: Good morning? And I'm a little nervous from Friday the thirteen.
2:57
Speaker 5: I thought you're a little nervous because Tony the Taylor
2:59
Speaker 5: is on the air. Was that what it was?
3:02
Speaker 2: Yeah?
3:02
Speaker 1: That was it?
3:03
Speaker 5: Actually, are you back from New Jersey last week? We
3:05
Speaker 5: talked to you. You were in Jersey.
3:07
Speaker 6: Yeah, I actually came home last Friday. We got back
3:10
Speaker 6: to West Virginia at about like seven thirty long trips.
3:15
Speaker 5: And you were telling me about the bagels up there,
3:18
Speaker 5: because I always, well, we'll get to the animal the moment,
3:20
Speaker 5: but I asked you about the food and you said
3:21
Speaker 5: you had some killer bagels up there, right, Yeah.
3:24
Speaker 6: We did. I don't know what New Jersey puts in
3:26
Speaker 6: those bagels that they are so much different than anyone
3:29
Speaker 6: you'll find anywhere else.
3:30
Speaker 5: But Tony, I know you spent some time in New
3:33
Speaker 5: Jersey jail, but so Philly. But if one goes to
3:40
Speaker 5: you you being Italian at all, I mean parentzy, you
3:42
Speaker 5: know you're not exactly Irish. So you go to Jersey.
3:46
Speaker 5: They're known for their pizza joints. I know that what
3:49
Speaker 5: else Jersey It.
3:49
Speaker 3: Depends what part of Jersey, North Jersey. What part of
3:52
Speaker 3: Jersey were you in?
3:52
Speaker 5: And south? Are we you in South or North?
3:56
Speaker 6: We were in Middletown, New Jersey, which you can actually
3:59
Speaker 6: at the beach up there you can see the New
4:00
Speaker 6: York City skyline.
4:02
Speaker 2: Okay, beach North Jersey.
4:04
Speaker 3: All right, North Jerry. What do we eat when you
4:06
Speaker 3: go to North Jersey? Tony bagels and pizza?
4:08
Speaker 5: Okay?
4:09
Speaker 3: Also think hoping you give me a little bit more detailed. Well,
4:12
Speaker 3: I mean that's fantastic. I mean again, you're right of
4:14
Speaker 3: New York. It's just like going across the river from
4:16
Speaker 3: Charleston to South Charleston. Okay, same, a bunch of tallies, Okay,
4:21
Speaker 3: with great food. He can say that because he is Italian.
4:24
Speaker 3: All right, let's get to our doctu. Please better the
4:26
Speaker 3: week as always.
4:27
Speaker 5: Picture posted on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook at Dave
4:30
Speaker 5: A seventy on axent the w c HS network Facebook page.
4:33
Speaker 5: It's doctor Robbie. I'm sure there's a story about the
4:37
Speaker 5: name Angie, because there always is doctor Robbie.
4:40
Speaker 6: So doctor Robbie is named is the main character on
4:44
Speaker 6: the TV show on hbo X called The Pit. So
4:48
Speaker 6: this is doctor Robbie and how this little chaos grimlin
4:51
Speaker 6: obtained the medical license? I do not know.
4:53
Speaker 2: But you know that show The Pit.
4:56
Speaker 5: I have actually watched a couple of episodes. It's actually
4:59
Speaker 5: really good. Noah while is in it. It was up
5:00
Speaker 5: for a bunch of Emmys. I think it's actually a
5:03
Speaker 5: pretty pretty good show. I mean, I have to say
5:05
Speaker 5: that it is. All right, so doctor Robbie and you
5:07
Speaker 5: called him on a chaos grim one.
5:09
Speaker 6: Yes, yes, I can say that because I'm his foster mom.
5:12
Speaker 5: Okay, all right, tell us about doctor Robbie.
5:15
Speaker 6: So doctor Robbie actually came to the shelter. He was
5:18
Speaker 6: attacked by another dog and had a traumatic brain injury,
5:22
Speaker 6: and I was like, you know what, I'll foster him.
5:24
Speaker 6: He's completely healed from that now he has no you know,
5:27
Speaker 6: long term effects from that. But he is a puppy.
5:31
Speaker 6: He loves to explore the world with his mouth. He's
5:34
Speaker 6: really in his chewing era right now and stealing slippers era,
5:38
Speaker 6: but we're working on that until he gets adopted. He's
5:41
Speaker 6: about two months old. He got neutered yesterday and is
5:44
Speaker 6: up to date on vaccines. And also I have a
5:48
Speaker 6: really big dog, a smaller dog and a lot of cats,
5:51
Speaker 6: and he does perfect with all of them. Kids, I
5:54
Speaker 6: cannot speak to but I'm sure if you can get
5:57
Speaker 6: past the mouth he play, he would be perfect.
5:59
Speaker 7: Kids.
6:00
Speaker 5: He's a beautiful dog, little lab maybe.
6:04
Speaker 6: Uh so, he's actually he's fifteen pounds at two months old.
6:07
Speaker 6: And I did a puppy weight calculator and it said
6:10
Speaker 6: that he'd probably topple out to be like an eighty
6:12
Speaker 6: two one hundred pound dog. Oh so yeah, worth I
6:17
Speaker 6: Google told me, you know how you can reverse image search.
6:20
Speaker 6: Google says that he looks like a King Corso mix.
6:22
Speaker 6: Don't know if that's true, but he's definitely going to
6:25
Speaker 6: be a big dog.
6:26
Speaker 3: Definitely going to be a big Sure is cute his
6:28
Speaker 3: eyes to say, take me home? Yeah, you need picture
6:31
Speaker 3: since you need.
6:32
Speaker 5: A watchdog down there for your shop, Tony, Yes, exactly
6:35
Speaker 5: what No, No, you've actually got a watch dog. I've
6:37
Speaker 5: seen her in the back. That's your that two handles
6:41
Speaker 5: things at your shop. All right, So doctor Robbie's picture
6:44
Speaker 5: posted Dave Island Radio on Facebook, the WCHS Network Facebook
6:47
Speaker 5: page and also at Dave a seventy on acts. Beautiful
6:50
Speaker 5: beautiful dog. All right, Texas and tails coming up quickly.
6:54
Speaker 5: April twenty fifth, seven o'clock JQ Dickets and Saltworks in
6:56
Speaker 5: Malden Howard tickets going.
7:00
Speaker 6: There are very very few tickets left, so if if
7:03
Speaker 6: you want them to get them, it seems like each
7:05
Speaker 6: week I'll do this show and then like another way,
7:07
Speaker 6: the tickets goes away.
7:09
Speaker 5: So well, that might ought to tell you something right there, right,
7:11
Speaker 5: you know, maybe people are listening to the show.
7:13
Speaker 6: Maybe uh yeah, and listening to me for once. That's good.
7:19
Speaker 2: All right.
7:19
Speaker 5: We had a text here about doctor Robbie said, is
7:23
Speaker 5: he fearful or apprehensive of other dogs that are like
7:26
Speaker 5: the one that attacked him?
7:28
Speaker 6: So he is not. Unsurprisingly, he's kind of like put
7:32
Speaker 6: all of that behind him by one dog is literally
7:35
Speaker 6: one hundred town Saint Bernard. He's very overbearing as well,
7:38
Speaker 6: like he does not realize how big he is. Doctor
7:41
Speaker 6: Robbie literally keeps up with him, puts him in his place.
7:45
Speaker 6: Like you'll see doctor Robbie will just climb all over
7:48
Speaker 6: him and play with him. So he doesn't seem to
7:51
Speaker 6: me like he'd be fearful of any other dogs, even
7:53
Speaker 6: though he was attacked by one.
7:54
Speaker 5: All right, appreciate the text, all right, So you had
7:57
Speaker 5: a really good story this week Angie, the longest resident
8:00
Speaker 5: at the shelter finally got adopted. His name was Curly.
8:04
Speaker 5: He'd been there for I think like a year and
8:06
Speaker 5: a half or so, and he got adopted this week.
8:10
Speaker 6: He did so. Curly has went to Foster Holmes before,
8:13
Speaker 6: and each foster has told us the same thing of like,
8:16
Speaker 6: Curly wants to be outside. He really doesn't like other animals.
8:20
Speaker 6: Like it was the same thing over and over. So
8:22
Speaker 6: we're looking for a home for Curly that had no kids,
8:26
Speaker 6: no other pets, and mainly you know, it was an
8:28
Speaker 6: outside type of home. And by some miracle, this family
8:32
Speaker 6: yesterday fell right into our lap that lived on a
8:35
Speaker 6: huge farm with no animals on it. They don't have
8:37
Speaker 6: kids or other pets. So it was truly just like
8:41
Speaker 6: a one in a million chants that they were just
8:44
Speaker 6: right there for Curly.
8:45
Speaker 5: And that's a perfect story. That's like, and we say
8:48
Speaker 5: this every week. Please if you're looking to adopt a
8:52
Speaker 5: dog or cat or whatever, please consider getting an older one,
8:55
Speaker 5: especially Curly's story. Because we featured Curly on this segment
8:57
Speaker 5: before Angie, and he'd been there as I said, for
8:59
Speaker 5: over a year and a half. And anytime I see
9:03
Speaker 5: on your on your page that you got a long
9:05
Speaker 5: term resident they're adopted out. That's a good day.
9:09
Speaker 6: It always is, especially you know you see you see
9:12
Speaker 6: them every day for you know, a year and a half,
9:15
Speaker 6: two years, so they kind to become your pet in
9:17
Speaker 6: a way as well, your work pet, if you will.
9:19
Speaker 6: So it's it's always nice for those ones that have
9:22
Speaker 6: been waiting for so long to have that perfect family
9:24
Speaker 6: come right through the door for them.
9:25
Speaker 5: All right, you guys out and about anywhere this weekend.
9:29
Speaker 6: We're not this weekend. Yeah, I don't think anything next
9:33
Speaker 6: week either.
9:34
Speaker 5: Okay, Well you're getting ready for tuxes and tails and
9:36
Speaker 5: this is going to be of course, you got this.
9:37
Speaker 5: You got kitten season going on right now too, right, Oh.
9:41
Speaker 6: My goodness, yes we do. And they are starting to
9:43
Speaker 6: come in very quickly.
9:44
Speaker 5: All right. If you had to put a ballpark on
9:47
Speaker 5: how many kittens you had to just ballpark figure, what
9:49
Speaker 5: would you say?
9:50
Speaker 6: Currently? I would say we probably have close to forty
9:53
Speaker 6: or so in foster care that are too small to
9:56
Speaker 6: be adopted at this point. And then as far as
9:58
Speaker 6: available cats go, are probably close to twenty in the
10:03
Speaker 6: cat room. And that's also including ones that are you know,
10:06
Speaker 6: undergoing medical treatment or X y Z before they can
10:09
Speaker 6: be adopted. So right now we're looking at about sixty some.
10:12
Speaker 5: Cat All right, what are you in need of as
10:13
Speaker 5: far as supplies go? I mean, we have the basics
10:15
Speaker 5: every week, but is there anything in particular that you're
10:17
Speaker 5: in need of?
10:19
Speaker 6: So wet dog suit is a big need right now.
10:21
Speaker 6: We're not ticky about brands. We're in need of purring
10:24
Speaker 6: a dog chow, and then the other one is puppy
10:26
Speaker 6: and kitten formula of any brand. We're just trying to
10:29
Speaker 6: prepare for those orphans that are coming in without moms
10:32
Speaker 6: to take care of them.
10:33
Speaker 5: And of course Steve Animal gets on me every week.
10:36
Speaker 5: His cause is Stubby, you know the dog that everybody's
10:42
Speaker 5: told Stubbies. We told this story for the last couple
10:44
Speaker 5: of months. This was a dog and it was dropped
10:46
Speaker 5: off at the shelter and he was abused, shot, thrown
10:51
Speaker 5: out of a car. You know, we've tried still trying
10:52
Speaker 5: to figure out exactly what's going on. Steve ask me
10:54
Speaker 5: every week, ask Angie, do we have any updates on Stubby?
10:59
Speaker 6: So so I'll say you I have this week is
11:00
Speaker 6: not really like the one everybody wants to hear, but
11:04
Speaker 6: it is one we've kind of hit a dead end
11:07
Speaker 6: portion of the investigation, if you will. The lead of
11:13
Speaker 6: the owner of stubs came forward and claimed that he
11:15
Speaker 6: was stolen from her and had information of who stole him.
11:20
Speaker 6: That information of the person who stole him is kind
11:23
Speaker 6: of just there's nowhere to go from here because we
11:27
Speaker 6: cannot find this person anywhere. So we have some breadcrumbs,
11:32
Speaker 6: but just nothing to do with the breadcrumbs at this moment.
11:35
Speaker 5: All right, I got another chext here for you. It says,
11:38
Speaker 5: are there any services you can take cans in the
11:41
Speaker 5: neighborhood'stras to get spade or neotered?
11:45
Speaker 6: So in our shelter system, we currently don't have that
11:48
Speaker 6: system or that program available because Fix Charleston, which is
11:53
Speaker 6: our Spain hooter clinic, is closed temporarily. But the Fixum
11:57
Speaker 6: clinic which is right down the road from us, have
12:00
Speaker 6: a T and R program that sense for Trap nooter release.
12:04
Speaker 6: You bring the cat in a trap, it gets neutered
12:07
Speaker 6: or stayed vaccinated, and then you take it back and
12:10
Speaker 6: release it into your community. So contact the Fix the
12:13
Speaker 6: clinic for their tn R program standards and protocols.
12:18
Speaker 5: All right, now, is that the one that my good
12:20
Speaker 5: friend Porter Wagner is a part of. Is that the
12:22
Speaker 5: Fix some clinic?
12:24
Speaker 6: No, okay is artually affiliated with Pick of the Litter.
12:28
Speaker 5: Okay, I'm sorry. I get a mixed up porters on
12:30
Speaker 5: the show from time to time. I know he used
12:32
Speaker 5: to work and it still works a lot with you guys.
12:33
Speaker 5: All right, I hope that answered that textras question. Hey Angie,
12:36
Speaker 5: we'll talk to you next week. Thanks a lot.
12:38
Speaker 6: Sounds good. Have a good one, all right.
12:40
Speaker 5: Doctor Robbie. Mister Parentzino is our is our dog of
12:45
Speaker 5: the week, Our pet of the week, two months old,
12:47
Speaker 5: vaccinated neuter, gets along well with other dogs and cats.
12:51
Speaker 5: Was attacked when he was younger by another dog. Seems
12:54
Speaker 5: to have recovered from that. Make a great pet for somebody.
12:57
Speaker 3: He sure is cute. He reminds me of an old
12:59
Speaker 3: dog Black.
13:00
Speaker 5: Well, maybe you could have a new dog Jack. Maybe
13:03
Speaker 5: all right, hell, oh we go.
13:04
Speaker 3: Maybe he's an opening we.
13:06
Speaker 5: Got all right, and he does? You have other pets,
13:08
Speaker 5: don't you currently?
13:09
Speaker 8: No?
13:09
Speaker 5: Over there you go, there you go. Well, if he can,
13:13
Speaker 5: if he can, live with you. You can live with him,
13:16
Speaker 5: all right. I appreciate answer for being here again. Doctor
13:20
Speaker 5: Robbie's picture posted Dave Alond Radio and Facebook at Dave
13:23
Speaker 5: A seventy on Axent, also the WHS network page as well.
13:27
Speaker 5: Jack says, it's so aggravating. Someone knows something about what
13:30
Speaker 5: happened to Stubbs. Come forward, please, says a text. All right,
13:34
Speaker 5: we're gonna take a break. The wind is going to
13:36
Speaker 5: be a big, big deal today. I mean a big deal.
13:39
Speaker 5: It's like I was talking to meteorologist Brian Hughes upstairs,
13:42
Speaker 5: and I think his line was, if you don't like
13:44
Speaker 5: the trash, can you have now, just wait till about
13:47
Speaker 5: four or five o'clock because another one's going to be
13:49
Speaker 5: in your yard. So maybe you'll like that one a
13:51
Speaker 5: little bit better. So working with Brian, if he gets
13:53
Speaker 5: an opportunity, he's going to come down and talk to
13:55
Speaker 5: us about that. It is the closing twenty four hours
13:58
Speaker 5: and some for the legislature. Meadows and Wilson actually doing
14:03
Speaker 5: the show in studio here in Charleston today, so they're
14:05
Speaker 5: going to join us a little bit later on more
14:07
Speaker 5: on Tomor's Green Chili shoot out and when we come back,
14:11
Speaker 5: We're going to talk Pepperoni, rolls and other stuff with
14:13
Speaker 5: her Man, Tony the Taylor, The Dave Aland Show on five.

16:47
Speaker 5: is hanging out with us today and I asked TJ
16:49
Speaker 5: Meadows who was rump And by the way, TJ and
16:52
Speaker 5: I are matching today. We are wearing our matching Metro
16:54
Speaker 5: News gear here.
16:55
Speaker 3: He's one of those Metro News all.
16:57
Speaker 5: Right, we'll work on that for you. We'll work on that,
17:00
Speaker 5: all right. So the reason I brought Tony in today,
17:02
Speaker 5: other than the normal hilarity, was this discussion about Pepperoni
17:07
Speaker 5: rolls okay under the dome and with everything that's gone on,
17:11
Speaker 5: I'm following you on X what was it Wednesday night
17:14
Speaker 5: when all this was going down, When they were going back.
17:15
Speaker 7: And forth about Wednesday afternoon Wednesday night, Credos and all
17:18
Speaker 7: this other stuff.
17:19
Speaker 5: That's why I have Tony here, but I wanted you
17:21
Speaker 5: to set up what was the discussion about pepperoni roles.
17:23
Speaker 7: So what happened was the food Dive Bill is back,
17:26
Speaker 7: and the reason it's back they're running it because federal
17:30
Speaker 7: court Judge Irene Berger basically suspended the law because she
17:34
Speaker 7: has issues with it, found it to be lacking. That
17:36
Speaker 7: case will continue. What the legislature is trying to do
17:39
Speaker 7: is trying to go back, revisit the law and address
17:40
Speaker 7: those issues. But it opens everything up. So there were
17:44
Speaker 7: amendments and exemptions made in Senate Judiciary to try to
17:50
Speaker 7: get certain foods exempted. Pepperoni rolls came up because Senator
17:53
Speaker 7: Joey Garcia took a look at his two favorite brand
17:57
Speaker 7: of pepperoni roles. I'm not sure what those are, but
17:59
Speaker 7: apparently used the ingredients that would be banned under this law.
18:02
Speaker 7: So he tried to make an amendment to exempt pepperoni rolls.
18:06
Speaker 1: It failed.
18:07
Speaker 7: By the way, it failed, and so that's that's part
18:11
Speaker 7: of the talk, and I guess that's how we got
18:12
Speaker 7: here the campaign right now, Well.
18:16
Speaker 5: We talked about that because in all seriousness, a lot
18:20
Speaker 5: of the things that have come out of this session.
18:21
Speaker 5: I'm going to turn right back around.
18:23
Speaker 7: I think it. So they did division, right, because cher
18:27
Speaker 7: Willis couldn't tell by a voice vote. These guys always
18:29
Speaker 7: want to do a voice vote because then it's not
18:31
Speaker 7: on records, on record. So he called division, which will
18:34
Speaker 7: also not be on record because it's not a roll call.
18:36
Speaker 7: But there were sixty people in that room. Trust me,
18:40
Speaker 7: someone was taken down the note who had the hand
18:43
Speaker 7: up and who did not have the hand up?
18:45
Speaker 5: So there you go, all right, So that leads me
18:48
Speaker 5: to you, Tony. You have among you. You have opinions,
18:53
Speaker 5: opinion imagine that most of them are wrong, but one
18:56
Speaker 5: of those are about pepperoni roll right, And I defer
19:00
Speaker 5: to anybody whose last name is peran Zeno when it
19:02
Speaker 5: comes to discussion about pepperoni roles. Now that, of course,
19:05
Speaker 5: the history of the pepperoni roll you know, I mean everybody,
19:08
Speaker 5: this is a West Virginia thing, I mean, you know,
19:10
Speaker 5: and as far as the United States goes, it came
19:11
Speaker 5: from other places. But basically miners needed food that that
19:15
Speaker 5: wouldn't spoil.
19:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, most miners in the Clarksburg area and Fairmount area
19:21
Speaker 3: were are still Italian. They were brought in to mine
19:26
Speaker 3: because that was the labor force back then for low wages.
19:30
Speaker 3: And so the women would make pepperonid and bread and
19:35
Speaker 3: put it in their bucket because you could eat it
19:38
Speaker 3: without open flame. Easy to make, and again most were
19:43
Speaker 3: port and you make your own pepperoni at home without
19:46
Speaker 3: food dye, because I don't think I even had food
19:49
Speaker 3: die back then. But and that's what started. And Country
19:53
Speaker 3: Club Bakery is the founder, you know, of the large
19:57
Speaker 3: scale pepperoni roll to be sold publicly in Fairmont. Fairmont
20:04
Speaker 3: is still there, same spot stick pepperoni and a pillow
20:07
Speaker 3: soft bread. Fantastic. Some people we have an argument about
20:13
Speaker 3: sticks versus slices. I'm an originalist, like the Constitution, it's sticks, okay,
20:19
Speaker 3: it's but it's not slices. However, okay, however, nothing wrong
20:24
Speaker 3: with slice. Not saying that's terrible because that's slices.
20:27
Speaker 5: It's pepperoni. It's pepperoni, right.
20:29
Speaker 3: And I had a lady Bretta with rolling in the
20:32
Speaker 3: South pepperoni roll. She makes them here in Charleston, bring
20:36
Speaker 3: me a fantastic pepperoni roll yesterday after she saw my
20:40
Speaker 3: Facebook post about you can't introduce cheese or peppers or
20:44
Speaker 3: anything else into a Pepperoni roll, because then it becomes
20:47
Speaker 3: a strong bowli, which was invented in Philadelphia by the
20:51
Speaker 3: wives of shipyard workers who were Italian to send to
20:55
Speaker 3: their lunch buckets. And it was pepperoni with cheese in
20:58
Speaker 3: it and or peppers with a dippy sauce on the side.
21:01
Speaker 3: That makes it a stromboli, not a Pepperoni roll. And
21:04
Speaker 3: that's where we start getting to Argumentoually, I can't believe
21:08
Speaker 3: you don't. I said, I decidedn't like it. It tastes delicious.
21:10
Speaker 3: And however, you can't call it a pepperoni roll.
21:13
Speaker 5: Okay.
21:13
Speaker 3: If it has cheese, it is not a pepperoni stromboli.
21:16
Speaker 3: It's a stromboli.
21:17
Speaker 5: Okay. What's the difference between it and I like them both?
21:20
Speaker 5: What's the different between stromboli and the cow zone shape? Okay?
21:24
Speaker 3: Just okay, mostly shape the calzone? You know cow zones
21:28
Speaker 3: are half moons, okay, and which kind of translates to
21:31
Speaker 3: cal zone.
21:32
Speaker 5: I got it.
21:32
Speaker 3: It's just pizza bread and they put in the oven, okay.
21:35
Speaker 10: See.
21:35
Speaker 5: And and you said the bread has to be pillow
21:38
Speaker 5: soft in your opinion.
21:40
Speaker 3: In my opinion, and then pretty much everybody else's opinion
21:42
Speaker 3: because you don't want a crunchy roll with with the Pepperoni's.
21:46
Speaker 3: It's so it had to be soft. And bread in
21:48
Speaker 3: West Virginia is generally Italian breads are generally softer here.
21:51
Speaker 3: The farther north you go into Jersey, Philadelphian area, it's
21:54
Speaker 3: a hard crust rolling. Uh. You know, proper steak sandwiches
21:59
Speaker 3: and proper Italian sausagems are made with a hard crust
22:02
Speaker 3: roll with a dough center. That's that's key. You can
22:05
Speaker 3: have a soft roll on those, but you need a
22:06
Speaker 3: soft roll with pepperoni.
22:08
Speaker 5: Okay, I ain't. And as soon as I hear that
22:10
Speaker 5: term you talk about Jersey, I think of James Brown
22:12
Speaker 5: living in America, you know, with with the with the
22:15
Speaker 5: line with a with a hard roll. They're talking about
22:18
Speaker 5: that now. Shout out to my hometown Logan. A new
22:22
Speaker 5: era of bakery that's been opened since the nineteen early
22:24
Speaker 5: nineteen thirties, I think late late twenties and early thirties.
22:28
Speaker 5: They sell a bunch of pepperoni rolls. Okay, but they
22:31
Speaker 5: are they go against everything that you say. It's a
22:34
Speaker 5: hard bread. You can get them with or without cheese.
22:39
Speaker 5: But here's the thing about it. And if this is
22:42
Speaker 5: mainly a northern West Virginia thing, as you said that
22:45
Speaker 5: that went south, Okay, it's above the slaw line, above them.
22:49
Speaker 5: We've talked about the slaw line before anything north of
22:51
Speaker 5: basically Parkersburg. They don't put slaw on hotdogs. They're godless communists,
22:56
Speaker 5: all right, so so, but but they do a bit
23:00
Speaker 5: differently done, but they're still good. They're just not, in
23:02
Speaker 5: your opinion, just not traditional.
23:05
Speaker 3: Just don't call them pepperoni rolls now. But I've had
23:07
Speaker 3: the new era when I don't cossarily that hard bread.
23:09
Speaker 3: It's pretty soft. Maybe I just got through a bad day,
23:13
Speaker 3: maybe about the day old ones on safe.
23:15
Speaker 5: Maybe I justwave suddenly it's penicillin. Uh. Texas, And talking
23:21
Speaker 5: about New York and New Jersey, I'm curious, are there
23:23
Speaker 5: any restaurants in either state that have discovered our pepperoni
23:27
Speaker 5: rolls and started selling them in their restaurants? They call
23:30
Speaker 5: it stromboli, Okay, but they don't sell pepperoni rolls. No,
23:35
Speaker 5: they don't. Okay. Now, there are several restaurants here in
23:38
Speaker 5: the valley that sell versions of pepperoni rolls. I'll give
23:42
Speaker 5: a big shout out to my man Chris at the bucket.
23:44
Speaker 5: They do some fantastic pepperoni. I don't know they to you.
23:47
Speaker 5: They may not be pepperoni rolls, but they do some
23:50
Speaker 5: great ones. Fireside fireside grills are really good, very good. Uh,
23:56
Speaker 5: there's several places of Grasiano's. Okay, you know, but again
24:01
Speaker 5: Stromboli okay, misnomered. Just they're still because this West Virginia
24:05
Speaker 5: called pepperoni. So let me throw this down.
24:07
Speaker 3: See how you feel about.
24:08
Speaker 5: Okay, we're tackling all the big issues.
24:11
Speaker 3: These are important issues forget public education, public I mean, this.
24:17
Speaker 2: Should be the Golden horseshoe exam.
24:19
Speaker 7: It should it should be. If it's not already my
24:23
Speaker 7: belief preference. It has to be cold, you heat it up,
24:28
Speaker 7: it's something else.
24:29
Speaker 3: I agree.
24:31
Speaker 5: I agree, because there was no question that was the
24:32
Speaker 5: whole purpose of the movie.
24:33
Speaker 3: But you couldn't it.
24:34
Speaker 1: And I'll put it in the microwave for time.
24:36
Speaker 3: No, No, I'm that to soften the bread for him.
24:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's got to be room temp.
24:42
Speaker 5: I mean not frozen, but but.
24:44
Speaker 3: Not not right right cold. I mean it's just room temperature.
24:48
Speaker 1: Talk about godless communists.
24:49
Speaker 3: And that's why well, and because why pepperoni. You know
24:52
Speaker 3: when when we when I was growing up in eastand uh,
24:56
Speaker 3: we had neighbors and we make salamis and pepperoni's and
24:59
Speaker 3: basically you hung them from the garage rafters to cure nice.
25:03
Speaker 5: So that's why you don't need refrigeration. Yeah, that's the
25:05
Speaker 5: way it happened. That's way it rolled. That's the way
25:06
Speaker 5: they rolled it. And Tony still does that. You still
25:09
Speaker 5: drive through Tony Tony's neighborhood and there may be something
25:11
Speaker 5: hanging off.
25:12
Speaker 3: The somebody's salami.
25:15
Speaker 5: I don't know exactly what it is. Uh, we're talking
25:18
Speaker 5: to Tony the Tailor and TJ. I appreciate your inside.
25:20
Speaker 5: I know you have a show to get ready for it.
25:21
Speaker 5: But if you want to sit here and talk about
25:22
Speaker 5: pepperoni rolls with us, you're more than welcome to.
25:25
Speaker 7: I'll be honest with you. I could use a break
25:26
Speaker 7: from politics. I don't need to talk. I'm just gonna say.
25:28
Speaker 7: But Wilson's in the building too, so carry the show.
25:32
Speaker 3: But I would like to give a shout to Christianne's Bakery,
25:34
Speaker 3: who keeps it real locally with authentic Pepperoni rolls. Okay,
25:40
Speaker 3: they are the best their stick. I think she only
25:42
Speaker 3: sells the retail at Purple the Purple Onion Capital Market.
25:47
Speaker 3: Then every now and then she'll set up a bread
25:49
Speaker 3: shed on Saturday and Bridge as well. She calls it
25:51
Speaker 3: about her bakery on the Capitol mark A fart of
25:53
Speaker 3: my stomach is that? And sh right the bread shed
25:56
Speaker 3: and she has fantastic which also has great cinnamon rolls
25:59
Speaker 3: and all kinds of stuff. But she makes the bread
26:01
Speaker 3: for most of the restaurants here in Charleston.
26:03
Speaker 5: Who does the bread over at east Mpub for their
26:05
Speaker 5: hot dogs?
26:06
Speaker 3: That I am not sure who does?
26:08
Speaker 12: Is am?
26:09
Speaker 5: I've always said with the big shout out to the
26:11
Speaker 5: folks at Easton Eastern Pub, best hot.
26:14
Speaker 3: Dogs in Charleston and one of the greatest, not even
26:17
Speaker 3: places nobody knows about that it's fantastic food. Mike Brooks
26:21
Speaker 3: I went to high school with Mike. They've just done
26:24
Speaker 3: a wonderful job.
26:25
Speaker 7: Can I ask you one more question? Sorry, I'm as
26:30
Speaker 7: I'm sorry. Hot dogs English bun or plan bun.
26:35
Speaker 3: I'm a plain bun. Yeah, I'm got a plane bun bun.
26:38
Speaker 3: I'm a plain bun. I'm a traditional chili, slaw mustard onions.
26:43
Speaker 3: I'm still was born south of the slaw line.
26:45
Speaker 5: Yeah, you see. Now when it comes to hot dogs,
26:49
Speaker 5: I don't think that hot dogs necessarily have to have slaw.
26:52
Speaker 5: The best hot dogs in the world. And I'll die
26:54
Speaker 5: in this hill outside Charleston, Morrison driving and logan, Oh no, no,
26:58
Speaker 5: no question and Morrison drive in simply the best. Shout
27:00
Speaker 5: out Jay Mayhorn there as chicken in the box and
27:03
Speaker 5: then you can get the chicken in the box there,
27:04
Speaker 5: and you can also get gizzards there, and you can
27:07
Speaker 5: have a beerd delivered to your car on curb service,
27:10
Speaker 5: which I think is not legal, but that's okay, you.
27:12
Speaker 3: Know, long as slogan.
27:13
Speaker 5: Yeah, every land of my people. But I will say this,
27:19
Speaker 5: their hot dogs don't need slaw on them. And I
27:21
Speaker 5: don't get slaw on the hot dogs at Morrisons because
27:23
Speaker 5: the sauce the chili is so good the slaw would
27:27
Speaker 5: just take away from it. So I don't you know,
27:30
Speaker 5: they're the best hot dogs.
27:31
Speaker 3: Janets is not too so owned by No I'm sorry
27:34
Speaker 3: they bought they didn't buy Morrisons. At one time.
27:38
Speaker 5: Mayhorn family owned Morrisons, Janets and Parkway at one time
27:41
Speaker 5: they still own Parkway, got named Kevin Moore actually owns Janis.
27:45
Speaker 3: I mean he used to be able to get a
27:46
Speaker 3: bag of hot dogs, six hot dogs for like five bucks.
27:49
Speaker 5: I remember when they were six hot dogs for a
27:51
Speaker 5: buck ninety nine. That's Tex says. The best ever pepperoni
27:56
Speaker 5: rolls came from the City Bakery and Logan. The Noletti
27:58
Speaker 5: family owned it. The bread was butter, he's soft with
28:00
Speaker 5: chunks of pepperoni. They were pretty good. They were pretty
28:03
Speaker 5: of course, the owner of that, he's retired and it's
28:06
Speaker 5: that's actually fun fact that was the first location of
28:09
Speaker 5: Rock City was inside City Bakery. They actually took it
28:12
Speaker 5: over at one point before they moved to Charleston. But yeah,
28:15
Speaker 5: and Sarah Fioeletti's been mayor of Logan forever, I mean
28:18
Speaker 5: like well over twenty years, and his family owned City Bakery,
28:22
Speaker 5: which was absolutely and I say this growing up, we
28:26
Speaker 5: had absolutely two of the best bakries in the world
28:28
Speaker 5: in Logan in City in New Era. They worked together.
28:31
Speaker 5: I mean, like you know, if you try to go
28:33
Speaker 5: get a wedding cake or birthday cake at one they'd say, hey,
28:35
Speaker 5: we can't do it. Go down Sea City. You know
28:37
Speaker 5: they work together. A new era is still open and
28:39
Speaker 5: still doing pretty well. Texas Pepperoni sticks or slices in
28:44
Speaker 5: the role you covered that, but they may have just
28:45
Speaker 5: tuned in. Yeah, sticks, no slices, Sticks, no slices, Texays.
28:50
Speaker 5: The old Bullwinkle at Plaza East had awesome hot dogs.
28:54
Speaker 3: Yes they did. I used to eat there from when
28:56
Speaker 3: I went to Roosevelt Junior High.
28:58
Speaker 5: Okay, Texas. Who makes the best pepperoni rolls in Charleston
29:01
Speaker 5: other than homemade Christianne's Bakery? Okay, and that's the one
29:05
Speaker 5: you said disavailable at that Purple Onion and Purple Onion
29:08
Speaker 5: Capital now now.
29:08
Speaker 3: But I got to give a shout out to if
29:10
Speaker 3: you like slices, and I'm saying I don't like. I
29:13
Speaker 3: wouldn't eat it. I mean, I'm not saying this is bad.
29:15
Speaker 3: As of slices is the rolling in the South? Now.
29:18
Speaker 3: She's a home baker, sells and you can probably Shift's
29:21
Speaker 3: Facebook page. Bread of there. She brought me some yesterday
29:23
Speaker 3: at the store and on the other side of her
29:26
Speaker 3: car had chocolate chip cookies, but I couldn't find them
29:28
Speaker 3: in the bag.
29:29
Speaker 5: I don't know what happened there Ryan, Ryan Sa, Ryan Sta,
29:33
Speaker 5: Where are you?
29:34
Speaker 3: Man?
29:34
Speaker 5: It's funny because I told not you, not producer Ryan,
29:37
Speaker 5: about your Ryan not our right here? He asked if
29:40
Speaker 5: you were bringing Pepperoni rolls in, So I'm gonna tell
29:42
Speaker 5: him no, he ate them?
29:43
Speaker 3: Yeah, all gone?
29:44
Speaker 5: Well, there there you go, Ryan Nicholson. I Ryan Nicholson,
29:47
Speaker 5: twenty three minutes away from tick. Can you hang out?
29:49
Speaker 5: I know you got south to do?
29:50
Speaker 3: We can you hang out? Moves and I'm good.
29:54
Speaker 5: Ryan's in charge down there, twenty three minutes away from ten.
29:58
Speaker 5: Do have some other things we want to talk to
29:59
Speaker 5: Tony about. Plus we're gonna check on Brian Hughes. He
30:01
Speaker 5: may not be available, but we're going to see if
30:02
Speaker 5: we can get him down here to talk about this
30:03
Speaker 5: big wind event that we're expecting. If not, I'll between
30:07
Speaker 5: Tony and myself we get enough win for everybody of Rent.
30:09
Speaker 5: All right, But Dave Island Show on five eighty line,
30:11
Speaker 5: bright to you, aparted by Morgan and Morgan, America's largest
30:13
Speaker 5: injury law firm. Back after this. I'm the Voice of
30:15

Speaker 5: Tex says love Tony, He's a true gem in our community.
31:58
Speaker 5: I love when the pepperoni oil Greece saturates the bread.
32:01
Speaker 5: I grew up in Clarksburg and fell in love with
32:03
Speaker 5: those pepperoni roles. I'll tell you a quick story about
32:06
Speaker 5: Clarksburg pepperoni rolls. A few years ago, when I was
32:09
Speaker 5: in state government, we were doing some things up in
32:11
Speaker 5: Clarksburg and we went to Tomorrow's Bakery and I'm I'm
32:16
Speaker 5: assuming it's still opens Tomorrow still, I think. Okay. We
32:18
Speaker 5: had these students from Harvard that were in on a
32:23
Speaker 5: business thing. We were working with them over there, and
32:26
Speaker 5: so we took them to Tomorrow's Bakery a Sunday morning,
32:29
Speaker 5: about eight thirty in the morning, and we said, we're
32:31
Speaker 5: going to give you pepperoni rolls. And so they had
32:35
Speaker 5: like twenty five to thirty students Susan graduate students, so
32:37
Speaker 5: let's think mid twenties from Harvard. We had one that
32:41
Speaker 5: was from China. We had a couple from California all
32:43
Speaker 5: over the place. The idea of pepperoni rolls to them
32:48
Speaker 5: was just so foreign. They put them in the white
32:51
Speaker 5: bags like classic bakeries do, and they were all like
32:54
Speaker 5: just kind of looking at them like they didn't know.
32:56
Speaker 5: And then they watched that and I know, I'm on radio.
32:59
Speaker 5: They watched that green circle just starting to expand, kind
33:03
Speaker 5: of like kind of like Tony's seat does when he's
33:06
Speaker 5: I sit down. But but but but and and they
33:12
Speaker 5: fell in love with the pepperoni roles. And obviously, you know, California,
33:17
Speaker 5: China not necessarily known for their pepperoni roles, but they
33:19
Speaker 5: fell in love with him.
33:20
Speaker 8: Uh.
33:21
Speaker 5: Brian Hughes is here, and I know you got stuff
33:23
Speaker 5: to do, but I wanted to ask you a serious
33:25
Speaker 5: note here, this is very serious. Are the pepperoni roles
33:29
Speaker 5: in Texas?
33:29
Speaker 2: No, none, whatsoever. I had no idea, I mean, and
33:33
Speaker 2: and it which.
33:33
Speaker 8: By the way, I mean, I have classic, classically told
33:35
Speaker 8: the story that I thought I was moving to Charleston,
33:37
Speaker 8: South Carolina. So I would have skipped this entire experience
33:41
Speaker 8: had I actually interviewed at that place.
33:43
Speaker 2: I did not.
33:43
Speaker 8: I interviewed here, so uh, but I got here and
33:46
Speaker 8: I was like, what the heck, yeah, and yeah, where
33:51
Speaker 8: is the but but yeah, I it was. I was
33:56
Speaker 8: like hmm and then like you, I'm like, okay, that's
34:00
Speaker 8: out of pepperoni roll or you know those people who
34:02
Speaker 8: have changed up. There was the pepperoni grill. They they
34:07
Speaker 8: did one at one time and it was actually good.
34:09
Speaker 8: But I thought it was more strong bullie.
34:11
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what it is. And it's a it's a
34:14
Speaker 3: really I don't know, I get it. I get it right.
34:16
Speaker 8: And it doesn't mean that they're not good, right because
34:18
Speaker 8: because that was good, but it was more strong bullie.
34:21
Speaker 8: But you know, I I like, I.
34:24
Speaker 3: Like to see it greasy in the middle, in the
34:26
Speaker 3: middle stick pepperoni soft bread.
34:28
Speaker 5: Alright, let's talk about wind because we got some.
34:31
Speaker 8: Seriously, Yeah, we listen, we we've got wind that's gonna
34:34
Speaker 8: be all over the place. But as we go through
34:36
Speaker 8: the rest of the day, I mean, our wind gus
34:38
Speaker 8: this afternoon will be forty to fifty miles per hour.
34:40
Speaker 8: That's why a wind advisory has been is in effect
34:43
Speaker 8: across the entire state. Matter of fact, be glad you're
34:46
Speaker 8: not snowsh you sixty to seventy Minle Prour.
34:49
Speaker 5: Wind guests are possible way up there if we're talking
34:50
Speaker 5: about wind gusts, but nothing associated with no rain, no.
34:54
Speaker 2: Snow, no rain, no snow.
34:55
Speaker 8: This is actually so this is a problem that that
34:58
Speaker 8: if you, if anybody is flying across the country today,
35:01
Speaker 8: it is a yesterday today turbulence like you wouldn't we
35:04
Speaker 8: what we're experiencing right, what we'll experience this afternoon is
35:07
Speaker 8: actually a part of the mid number levels of the atmosphere.
35:10
Speaker 2: It was across the Rockies yesterday.
35:12
Speaker 8: Matter of fact, there were a significant amount of flights
35:14
Speaker 8: that they were diverting, that they were sending them up
35:17
Speaker 8: over Canada to get back, you know, down into the US,
35:21
Speaker 8: and then sending them further south. You just essentially diverting
35:23
Speaker 8: them away from this jet stream. I mean, it was huge,
35:26
Speaker 8: the swath of air that's just going at five hundred
35:29
Speaker 8: miles an hour, you know, and when you you know,
35:31
Speaker 8: the only time you send a jet into that is
35:33
Speaker 8: when you're trying to get overseas to England or you're
35:36
Speaker 8: trying to do a coast to coast, you go right
35:38
Speaker 8: in that jet stream because then you're being pushed.
35:40
Speaker 2: You may by the way you.
35:41
Speaker 5: Make it England in twenty minutes.
35:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
35:43
Speaker 3: Oh, hello, all right, And.
35:45
Speaker 5: I told your joke earlier. I said, if you would
35:47
Speaker 5: don't like your garbage, you can't stick around somebody else's
35:49
Speaker 5: coming into your arm a little bit like exactly so.
35:51
Speaker 5: And I say that because some people have, you know,
35:53
Speaker 5: this time of year, maybe some Saint Patrick's stuff out,
35:55
Speaker 5: or they got Easter stuff out or whatever.
35:59
Speaker 2: Still has Christmas stuffs blowed away.
36:02
Speaker 5: Well that's for next year.
36:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, for next year. That's for next year.
36:05
Speaker 10: Yeah.
36:05
Speaker 8: It's one of the things if you haven't already uh
36:09
Speaker 8: secured everything, or if you kind of got it out
36:11
Speaker 8: over the weekend, you know, because you're like, oh, this
36:13
Speaker 8: is great weather. Yeah it was great weather, but today
36:15
Speaker 8: is going to be wind blown everything.
36:17
Speaker 5: So and and sometimes people forget when they're driving. I
36:19
Speaker 5: drive an suv and oh you snow ice, no problem.
36:23
Speaker 5: When DI in an suv sometimes is not good, you know.
36:26
Speaker 5: And that's it's not a it's not a huge suv.
36:29
Speaker 5: That's the problem. And I mean I just a couple
36:31
Speaker 5: of weeks ago, I'm driving, you know, uh a westbound
36:34
Speaker 5: on sixty four and uh, I think I crossed like
36:36
Speaker 5: three lanes.
36:37
Speaker 3: You know, and also being near tractor trailers right exactly,
36:41
Speaker 3: but they will swing it.
36:42
Speaker 8: It's not their fault, no, and that's and that's why
36:44
Speaker 8: you know, you know, you always want to if you
36:46
Speaker 8: see a flatbed trailer, you know, and you see it's
36:49
Speaker 8: loaded down, you're good. But you know, but you know,
36:52
Speaker 8: with these box trailers, you don't know if they're empty
36:54
Speaker 8: or if they're loaded.
36:54
Speaker 2: If they're empty. It listened there.
36:57
Speaker 8: Yeah, they're just doing this dance where they're holding on
36:59
Speaker 8: the steer and whel we're just telling people just to.
37:01
Speaker 5: Be careful because again we were you know, a couple
37:03
Speaker 5: of days ago we had the severe weather. Not it
37:05
Speaker 5: wasn't so much you're in the Charleston area, but we
37:07
Speaker 5: did have it in other places. We're going to have
37:09
Speaker 5: high winds that you would associate with those kind of storms,
37:12
Speaker 5: but without the storms.
37:13
Speaker 8: Yes, without storms, I mean, and we had some of
37:15
Speaker 8: those winds you know, day before yesterday we had those
37:18
Speaker 8: that you know, late that night and as we talked
37:20
Speaker 8: about that round two. Round one, yeah, we had the
37:23
Speaker 8: tornado warnings all across the northern Panhandle, but the round
37:25
Speaker 8: two was what was going to be the straight line
37:27
Speaker 8: style winds and that took a lot of trees down,
37:29
Speaker 8: limbs down. Listen, it's that time of year where we
37:32
Speaker 8: have transitional weather. We're transitioning back and forth between you know,
37:36
Speaker 8: winter and everything else. By Sunday we're going to be
37:38
Speaker 8: in the mid seventies and then Monday we get the rain,
37:41
Speaker 8: the snow late later in the night, almost like what
37:44
Speaker 8: we had, you know yesterday. Yesterday we had pellats of
37:46
Speaker 8: snow at ten o'clock in the morning.
37:49
Speaker 5: But we're not talking about accumulating.
37:51
Speaker 8: No, this is not gonna accumulating. There'll be some very
37:53
Speaker 8: light accumulations of the mountains and then you say that's it.
37:56
Speaker 2: Well, hold on, I said this is going to be
38:01
Speaker 2: the last.
38:02
Speaker 8: This one would probably be the last big storm because
38:05
Speaker 8: this is going to be this is gonna be a
38:06
Speaker 8: blizzard from Minnesota, Michigan all across the.
38:10
Speaker 2: Great Lakes region. I mean, it's blizzard conditions up there.
38:13
Speaker 8: But for us, you know, that's going to go to
38:15
Speaker 8: the north, and that was that's where our last hoorah
38:18
Speaker 8: for a big opportunity. Now, this being the anniversary of
38:22
Speaker 8: the Storm of the century, Uh, you know, we we've
38:24
Speaker 8: got to look at there are obviously going to be
38:26
Speaker 8: someone offs. You have to always you must always say
38:29
Speaker 8: snowstorms really end by that about Easter, and then you
38:34
Speaker 8: plant flowers after Mother's Day because that's at that point
38:38
Speaker 8: you don't have a frost to be concerned about. But
38:41
Speaker 8: between now and Easter, we still have a couple of shots.
38:43
Speaker 8: We might get some light snow or a flurry or
38:45
Speaker 8: light dusting, but we don't see any big storms on tap.
38:49
Speaker 8: But we do have a roller coaster in temperatures over
38:52
Speaker 8: the next probably ten to fourteen days.
38:53
Speaker 5: That's that, you know, this is the anniversary nineteen ninety three,
38:56
Speaker 5: the storm of the Century they called. I was living
38:58
Speaker 5: in Point Pleasant, were at the radio station in Galla
39:01
Speaker 5: Police at the time, which is only like, oh yeah,
39:03
Speaker 5: and you didn't even go home. I couldn't even well, no,
39:05
Speaker 5: you didn't get there. I couldn't get there. I was
39:06
Speaker 5: supposed to be on the air at noon that day
39:08
Speaker 5: and backed the car up and the car wasn't moving,
39:13
Speaker 5: and it was coming down so quickly, and Danna and
39:16
Speaker 5: I had just gotten married and we were out there
39:19
Speaker 5: trying to and I don't think we even had a snowshovel.
39:21
Speaker 3: I think we were using like a coffee can or
39:23
Speaker 3: something out there. But wasn't ninety three the last century
39:27
Speaker 3: the storm of the last storm of that?
39:29
Speaker 10: Yeah?
39:29
Speaker 3: This century?
39:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, well this insury, this this century.
39:33
Speaker 8: It was actually back if we're hunting this entry so far,
39:36
Speaker 8: it'd be back that twenty twelve storm. Yeah, twenty twelve,
39:39
Speaker 8: because that one we were two tenths of an inch
39:41
Speaker 8: of tying the record for the most so in twenty
39:45
Speaker 8: four hours, which was the storm of the century.
39:47
Speaker 6: So it was that.
39:49
Speaker 2: It was that storm and that was one. I mean
39:52
Speaker 2: I laughed against.
39:53
Speaker 10: What year was this?
39:54
Speaker 2: Was that twenty twenty twelve?
39:56
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, it's twenty twelve, twenty fourteen, yeah, yeah, somewhere there.
40:01
Speaker 2: Okay, I can't remember the Okay, you know numbers.
40:06
Speaker 8: I do remember having to pick up I had to
40:08
Speaker 8: go around Tennis pick up most of the staff from
40:10
Speaker 8: the TV station drop staff off.
40:12
Speaker 12: You know.
40:13
Speaker 2: I don't know why.
40:13
Speaker 8: I was the yellow bus driving everybody around, or media's
40:16
Speaker 8: short bus, but still, uh, I was driving everybody around
40:20
Speaker 8: and passing jeeps that were stuck in the stones, Like,
40:22
Speaker 8: how is this happening?
40:23
Speaker 3: You're from Texas?
40:24
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I just.
40:27
Speaker 5: Hit a cow and keep going, all right. Brian Hughes
40:30
Speaker 5: appreciate it man.
40:30
Speaker 2: Absolutely gonna have a great weekend.
40:32
Speaker 5: Uh text says a true West Virginia Mountaineer role. We
40:35
Speaker 5: use venison pepperoni, you're not.
40:40
Speaker 2: You're greasy, and they'll probably have a little crunch to UH.
40:43
Speaker 5: Tech text says enjoying these subjects today, nice and actual,
40:50
Speaker 5: nice and actually healthy to take a break from news,
40:52
Speaker 5: politics and media insanity, sends the text. Yes, yeses Texas.
40:56
Speaker 5: What year was a big ice storm when people were
40:58
Speaker 5: going two miles an hour on the interstate? That was awful.
41:02
Speaker 2: We had one of those. It was about five years,
41:05
Speaker 2: four years ago.
41:06
Speaker 8: Most of that was in the Huntington area, northeast Kentucky
41:10
Speaker 8: and that was that was one and it took our
41:12
Speaker 8: TV station off the air for like seven days.
41:14
Speaker 2: Yeah not that, yeah, right after COVID Yeah right, go yeah,
41:18
Speaker 2: you're right, yes, right, go go.
41:21
Speaker 8: There's so many storms. I can tell you about that
41:23
Speaker 8: tornado event two years ago.
41:25
Speaker 5: Okay, believe me. Yeah that was in was that in April?
41:31
Speaker 2: Yes, yeah I can, I got pictures on my phone.
41:34
Speaker 3: I was What was your business affected by that? Because
41:37
Speaker 3: so we talked about it. When the tornado warning was happening,
41:41
Speaker 3: it came down to hit the sport Mark, the old
41:43
Speaker 3: sport Mark building. It blew the two street signs beside us.
41:46
Speaker 3: I have video from there. We're standing in the window
41:48
Speaker 3: and like, I probably want to back away from the wind.
41:50
Speaker 2: Actually I think you said, yeah, yes, that was wild.
41:53
Speaker 3: And also even before I never will forget my daughter Josephine,
41:57
Speaker 3: we went to go buy her a wedding dress. The
42:00
Speaker 3: other tornado we had the incident in the East End
42:02
Speaker 3: when a blow up Roughner Park.
42:04
Speaker 10: Yeah.
42:04
Speaker 3: Uh. We had went over to Bells on the west side,
42:07
Speaker 3: picked out her wedding dress, came home and there was
42:09
Speaker 3: a tree lane in my front yard and I don't
42:11
Speaker 3: have a tree in my front you do, now, Oh wow?
42:15
Speaker 3: And that was wild. And uh I had a table
42:18
Speaker 3: out back, a picnic table that had a glass top,
42:20
Speaker 3: and it was thrown into my neighbor's yard shattered. And
42:24
Speaker 3: uh he had a he had a new baby girl,
42:27
Speaker 3: like a little toddler. She's like baby one or two
42:29
Speaker 3: in the yard. Him and I are out there with
42:31
Speaker 3: a shop backs shone back in his yard to get
42:34
Speaker 3: all the glass.
42:35
Speaker 6: And so the kid.
42:38
Speaker 5: All right with good times, good times, great oldies. Appreciate
42:43
Speaker 5: n Yeah right, appreciate you.
42:46
Speaker 8: Uh.
42:46
Speaker 5: Being here. I got to take a break.
42:48
