  Speaker 2: a step above it. It looks like there's mostly Power

  Speaker 2: Conference teams in the Crown. We got matchup with Arizona

  Speaker 4: Sunday fun Day a little bit too hard.

  Speaker 2: That game did not help, But all I so it's funny.

  Speaker 2: We all went to the eleven thirty game against Iowa

  Speaker 2: last Sunday, and let's just say the alcohol had not

  Speaker 2: all worn off from the night before, and so we

  Speaker 2: just decided to keep going.

  Speaker 1: I stayed for the whole game. Everybody else we were

  Speaker 1: with the not they all left, which do I blame him?

  Speaker 2: The game was pretty crappy, yeah, at all.

  Speaker 1: I went home after the game.

  Speaker 2: Dak proceeded to get very frustrated with the game and

  Speaker 2: fall over.

  Speaker 4: Yep.

  Speaker 5: Wow, I'm actually disappointed now that I know you guys

  Speaker 5: are drinking the whole time. And the only text I

  Speaker 5: got the whole game was Firefred.

  Speaker 3: That was it me and Hunter.

  Speaker 4: Okay, so I want to go with five people. I

  Speaker 4: stayed there with Hunter for a little bit there, and

  Speaker 4: we were just sitting there just fired up about it.

  Speaker 4: We were fired up. There's a couple things you're about

  Speaker 4: up mostly the crowd does at the game. It was

  Speaker 4: not impressive how in what sense, Like it was not empty.

  Speaker 2: And this is not just the Iowa I mean the

  Speaker 2: Iowa game being the main one we're talking about. But

  Speaker 2: it was supposed to be a sellout or it was

  Speaker 2: a sellout, it never did fill completely in.

  Speaker 1: Now, did the game help.

  Speaker 2: The way the crowd got into the game, No, because

  Speaker 2: we got down pretty early and just never got anything

  Speaker 2: going to where we had anything to really to cheer about.

  Speaker 1: We were in the top row whatever, five rows from
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: the top.

  Speaker 2: I just felt like the energy in there never got
• 5:31
  Speaker 2: to a point that helped the team out.
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: But it goes two ways.

  Speaker 2: A team I don't think gave the crowd much to
• 5:36
  Speaker 2: get get hyped about either, which we've seen throughout this
• 5:41
  Speaker 2: year in certain moments, especially on the road.

  Speaker 1: Obviously we don't have a crowd, but even.
• 5:45
  Speaker 2: At home where we just don't have we don't have
• 5:47
  Speaker 2: the case a that we've had that can just really
• 5:50
  Speaker 2: energize and juice up a crowd, even the team just
• 5:55
  Speaker 2: for that matter, to the team itself, which I think
• 5:59
  Speaker 2: was a big part part of the way the season

  Speaker 2: kind of fell apart for us.

  Speaker 3: Yep, it was a rough way to go out.

  Speaker 5: I don't necessarily, you know, is it the fans responsibility

  Speaker 5: that show up to the last game of the year

  Speaker 5: when you've shown no, little competency at the end of

  Speaker 5: the season and you've kind of thrown away the year.

  Speaker 3: I don't know they bought the ticket Sunday morning.

  Speaker 4: I mean, what would you say that place was hunt No,

  Speaker 4: it is pretty it's pretty empty.

  Speaker 2: I mean it was it was still people that were there.

  Speaker 2: It just it wasn't like it wasn't packed sold out.

  Speaker 2: But everything was on the line, right, like to go

  Speaker 2: to the Big ten tournament and maybe save an NCAA

  Speaker 2: tournament birth by winning a couple in the tournament. It

  Speaker 2: was all there and it didn't happen, and we talked

  Speaker 2: about it on this podcast a lot. How so weird

  Speaker 2: how closely it is from like, Okay, Fred's getting a
• 7:18
  Speaker 2: freaking statue bill because we're gonna win our first NCAA
• 7:20
  Speaker 2: tournament team too. Man, is Fred even the right move
• 7:26
  Speaker 2: going forward anymore? I was very fired up that day.

  Speaker 2: I don't think my mind's changed a whole lot. I

  Speaker 2: think this Crown Tournament could show me something a little
• 7:37
  Speaker 2: bit one way or the other, But it just it

  Speaker 2: seems stale. I'm going to use that word over and

  Speaker 2: over I think, and that's a word that you hear

  Speaker 2: a lot with programs, is when things stop moving and

  Speaker 2: progressing in a way that you want them to as

  Speaker 2: a fan or I mean, obviously, if you're an administrator

  Speaker 2: making the decision, there comes a point in time where

  Speaker 2: you try something else. Love Fred.

  Speaker 1: I love the guy, like there's nothing against Fred, There's

  Speaker 1: nothing is.

  Speaker 2: I think it's just that coaches did a great job.

  Speaker 2: Are the players still responding and playing for him? And

  Speaker 2: his level of motivation that he's given to them that
• 8:17
  Speaker 2: I don't know. And am I saying we have crazy

  Speaker 2: expectations to be a blue butt Blood or a top

  Speaker 2: three team in the Big Ten year after year.

  Speaker 1: No, but it just was very disappointing how the year ended.

  Speaker 2: And it makes you wonder like, Okay, here we go

  Speaker 2: in like we're gonna rally it up. We're gonna I mean,

  Speaker 2: Fred made a long post after the game, We're gonna

  Speaker 2: add probably get some transfers, you know, ranks coming back,

  Speaker 2: Like what are the pieces we're gonna get? Like, I

  Speaker 2: get that, But it comes to a point where do

  Speaker 2: you benefit more from trying someone else? And I know

  Speaker 2: what Dak Dak's gonna say, Well, who.

  Speaker 1: Else are you gonna get? Who else wants to come

  Speaker 1: to Nebraska and be the next head coach of Nebraska?

  Speaker 1: Like you guys happy with Fred?

  Speaker 2: I My response to that is it could be anybody,

  Speaker 2: Like give me any of these up and comer coaches

  Speaker 2: for these teams like Drake teams, like High Point, like

  Speaker 2: these random coaches that pop up to have young and

  Speaker 2: upcoming in more Nebraska is a next step, like give

  Speaker 2: me one of those guys, give me a Dusty May

  Speaker 2: that was at Florida at Land that went to Michigan.

  Speaker 2: Give me a guy like that, Give me guys that
• 9:26
  Speaker 2: have proven themselves and see what they can do in Nebraska.

  Speaker 5: I mean, I am in the camp where so I

  Speaker 5: was texting my brothers after the game. I'm definitely in

  Speaker 5: the camp of one more year. But next year it's
• 9:44
  Speaker 5: I mean, it's a hot seat. It's tournament or bust basically.

  Speaker 5: But I did say if we could get Will Wade
• 9:51

  Speaker 3: Year, I'd probably think will Wade.

  Speaker 5: There's another name there, my older ticket holder. He was

  Speaker 5: also pro keeping Fred. He had some arguments about it

  Speaker 5: was just the players weren't executing that we missed, like,

  Speaker 5: but I disagree with some of his statements around that

  Speaker 5: the players just weren't executing him, because it was like
• 10:15
  Speaker 5: our shot percentage on wide open looks was like thirty percent,
• 10:20
  Speaker 5: and like our three point shooting, like connor season three
• 10:23
  Speaker 5: point shooting against ranked teams was seventeen percent lower than
• 10:26
  Speaker 5: against unranked teams.

  Speaker 3: It's like, well, I see what you're saying, but.

  Speaker 2: I mean, who were our shooters this year? Connor, him

  Speaker 2: and Bryce? Yeah, yeah, that's it. I mean, then it's

  Speaker 4: Jamal is probably your third best shooter, maybe, Sam, I.

  Speaker 2: Mean, maybe that's what's hard is it is And that's

  Speaker 2: not an uncommon theme that we've seen at Nebraska, not

  Speaker 2: just with Fred, but like we just we need to

  Speaker 2: find guys that can shoot the ball, and in Case

  Speaker 2: was one of those guys, and he was really elite

  Speaker 2: at shooting. Connor at times showed he could be an

  Speaker 2: elite shooter, but like you said, Austin, in big games.

  Speaker 5: The other argument for keeping Fred was he pointed out,

  Speaker 5: just financially the buyout with the new stadium and then

  Speaker 5: we are paying out the coaches.

  Speaker 1: That that what we have. We have unlimited amount of money.

  Speaker 5: I don't know if we do, like there's just a lot.

  Speaker 5: I don't think this is where they want to spend

  Speaker 5: their money. Oh that's all that's argue anil stuff.

  Speaker 2: Yes, there are, there's now another element that you have

  Speaker 2: to add into it. I still think from a financial standpoint,

  Speaker 2: Nebraska has an abundant amount of resources when it comes

  Speaker 2: to that, but I agree, as far as you're giving

  Speaker 2: a bucket a pool of money, you would like to

  Speaker 2: be allocating it elsewhere.

  Speaker 5: And I think it's more of a like, we'll give them,

  Speaker 5: We'll give them a little longer leash.

  Speaker 2: I mean, look at some of those guys coming in

  Speaker 2: from last year. Braxton Mia like he was man like,

  Speaker 2: Andrew Morgan showed signs of like good stuff but also

  Speaker 2: like man bar k Bukeanjel like UCLA guy. Early on

  Speaker 2: it was like this guy like yeah, gets hurt, Like okay,

  Speaker 2: he turned into man like. That's just what all these

  Speaker 2: guys are and that's what the portal is a little

  Speaker 2: bit part of living with this. So again, you know,

  Speaker 2: I like at Drake brings in. He came from a

  Speaker 2: Division two school, I believe, and went to Drake and

  Speaker 2: brought four Division two like all conference players, and look

  Speaker 2: what they're doing. They lost one game in the Summit

  Speaker 2: League this year. I think there's other options out there

  Speaker 2: in the portal if we were to choose to that route.

  Speaker 2: I'm not one hundred percent there, But at the same time,

  Speaker 5: Get a little bit more concerned with this year as

  Speaker 5: players that this whole team operated around and basically carried

  Speaker 3: Rank mass way back. But there's talent out there.

  Speaker 2: Let me ask you guys this, And we obviously have

  Speaker 2: two weeks lefture till the Crown start back up, and

  Speaker 2: we have a basketball game. Where could your mind go

  Speaker 2: as a result of this tournament? Where do you think

  Speaker 2: it should be heading into the tournament? And what do

  Speaker 2: you what do you think will happen?

  Speaker 5: I guess where do I think by the time we

  Speaker 5: get there, I'll be excited to watch Nebraska basketball? But

  Speaker 5: it feels more like a Swan song unless like a

  Speaker 5: We're gonna go out there and win it. But it's

  Speaker 5: more like I'd like to watch these guys play a

  Speaker 5: little bit more, if that makes sense. I don't think

  Speaker 5: the expectation is we win at least I don't know

  Speaker 5: how about this. I shouldn't say the expectation. I do

  Speaker 5: not expect us to win. I expect us to win

  Speaker 5: maybe one or two games, and then we lose, and

  Speaker 5: then the year is gonna end, and there's gonna be

  Speaker 5: questions about we fire Fread. But at that point we've

  Speaker 5: extended our season and Fred's been around, and we don't

  Speaker 5: fire Fred, and we go into the off season a

  Speaker 5: little sad, and then we get a big transfer and

  Speaker 5: we'll be right back at it.

  Speaker 3: I think that's that is how it's gonna go.

  Speaker 2: If some guys don't play, I think it's very telling

  Speaker 2: heads are at. I get it, we're probably disappointed with

  Speaker 2: Here's what it's hard. It's so hard as a coach

  Speaker 2: same boat as you. Like, we probably fell off, you know,

  Speaker 2: on a chart, we probably had the highest point for

  Speaker 3: It's probably had. We probably had the best wins out

  Speaker 2: Yes, and so have we fallen off, But for sure

  Speaker 2: we ended up, we do. So all these other teams

  Speaker 2: are also there. They also are at very different levels

  Speaker 2: It's it should be hard for a team and coaches
