- 1:56Speaker 3: Before we get to doctor Casey Sacks, though.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Minteoriologist Brian he who's joined us right now, can we
- 2:01Speaker 5: just end this once and for all that I am
- 2:03Speaker 5: because I got the window, and it is still pouring
- 2:07Speaker 5: down snow here in Charles.
- 2:08Speaker 6: It is, and a lot of this is it's partial
- 2:11Speaker 6: upslope snow. But we also have an Arctic air mass
- 2:14Speaker 6: that's actually moving in, moving back in. It was here
- 2:17Speaker 6: on Friday. That's when we were so cold here on Saturday.
- 2:21Speaker 6: And then essentially that warm wedge was not it's not
- 2:24Speaker 6: a warm wedge, it was a it was a warm
- 2:26Speaker 6: u haul that came in and push all that cold
- 2:30Speaker 6: to the north. But now it's moving back in. And
- 2:34Speaker 6: we also have a Lake effect snow band that is
- 2:36Speaker 6: coming off of Lake Michigan right now and it's across
- 2:39Speaker 6: parts of Indiana and I do see that impacting us
- 2:42Speaker 6: later today and so that later on this morning into
- 2:45Speaker 6: the midday.
- 2:46Speaker 2: So we've got we've just got to watch.
- 2:48Speaker 6: I think we could probably get another inch to maybe
- 2:51Speaker 6: half inch to an inch of snow for the rest
- 2:53Speaker 6: of the day.
- 2:53Speaker 5: All right, So I'm just gonna go ahead and uh
- 2:56Speaker 5: and hit the elephant in the room. Yeah, all right,
- 2:58Speaker 5: what happened with the fore with the snow.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Depths with so we absolutely what you have to consider
- 3:06Speaker 6: is what are the all the all the possibilities we
- 3:09Speaker 6: could have had snow. It could have been eight to
- 3:10Speaker 6: ten inchesworth of snow, but instead we had the warm air,
- 3:15Speaker 6: which actually, just so you know, we have not had
- 3:19Speaker 6: the warm wedge. As I said, turned to the warm
- 3:21Speaker 6: u haul. This was this was massive. We've not had
- 3:25Speaker 6: an overrunning event where it is this large and this widespread.
- 3:29Speaker 6: This magnitude normally is very confined to west Virginia and
- 3:35Speaker 6: southeast Kentucky. But the warm air made its way all
- 3:39Speaker 6: the way into southern Ohio. And that was because the
- 3:43Speaker 6: storm system itself strengthened as it came across the Tennessee Valley,
- 3:50Speaker 6: and as it strengthened, that area of real pressure was
- 3:52Speaker 6: then drawing massive amounts of moisture up out of the gulf.
- 3:55Speaker 6: And then as it came up, it just kept on.
- 3:57Speaker 6: It became what is called what is called a Miller B.
- 4:02Speaker 6: And that is again that is it. It is really loud.
- 4:06Speaker 6: I know it shouldn't what happened. It is a Miller
- 4:09Speaker 6: B type scenario. And that is just a classification with
- 4:13Speaker 6: the storm system. The one that's possible for this weekend
- 4:16Speaker 6: is Miller A and that one normally wouldn't bring us snow.
- 4:20Speaker 6: But the storm system becomes a nor'easter so much further south.
- 4:23Speaker 6: But the potential is for that to happen, that it
- 4:26Speaker 6: would bring the massive artic carry mass all the way
- 4:29Speaker 6: down to the Gulf coast.
- 4:31Speaker 2: And that's this coming weekend.
- 4:32Speaker 6: So this is this is a We're in a very
- 4:34Speaker 6: different pattern. And I've not seen a storm system like
- 4:36Speaker 6: what we just had ever is in my fourteen years here.
- 4:40Speaker 5: And you told me earlier that we set records for
- 4:43Speaker 5: rainfall amount in certain areas yesterday.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Yesterday we in Clarksburg, in Parkersburg, in Elkins, Charleston, all
- 4:51Speaker 6: these places record rain and we're looking at the rain
- 4:55Speaker 6: totals right around two inches on average. But yeah, we
- 5:00Speaker 6: broke records yesterday for the amount of rain that we had.
- 5:03Speaker 6: And that's why we had the flooding, flooding on the
- 5:05Speaker 6: Coal River and everything because of the massive amount of rain.
- 5:09Speaker 6: And here's what this is what I'm really afraid of,
- 5:12Speaker 6: and it directly impacts me. When we melt all this off,
- 5:18Speaker 6: it's got to go somewhere, these rivers when we melt
- 5:21Speaker 6: this off, I'm not excited about this at all. It's
- 5:25Speaker 6: someone who lives on a boat, right because the ground
- 5:28Speaker 6: is solidly frozen. But when we melt all this off,
- 5:32Speaker 6: it is straight. Runoff goes straight in the rivers. The
- 5:36Speaker 6: rivers at some point in the first part of February
- 5:39Speaker 6: are going to come up.
- 5:41Speaker 5: And this is one of the only times that I
- 5:43Speaker 5: can think of in some memory that all fifty five
- 5:47Speaker 5: counties canceled classes today. I mean, that doesn't happen very often.
- 5:51Speaker 6: It's very rare. It happened back in twenty sixteen. We
- 5:56Speaker 6: had all fifty five counties, and I said, our friend Logan.
- 6:00Speaker 6: He was like, you can't say that all the school's
- 6:02Speaker 6: gonna be closed on Monday. I said, no, no, no, I
- 6:05Speaker 6: know what kind of system we're gonna have. Even if
- 6:07Speaker 6: it's not gonna be all snow, the ice, everything else,
- 6:09Speaker 6: We're closing all fifty five counties, and all southern Ohio
- 6:12Speaker 6: is closed, All of eastern Kentucky is closed. Essentially, any
- 6:16Speaker 6: school system around here is closed. Most city halls are closed,
- 6:19Speaker 6: courthouses are clothes. Got a text from our good friend
- 6:21Speaker 6: Joe Stephen, city of Nitro they closed up, and garbage
- 6:24Speaker 6: services are delayed and so on and so forth. You know,
- 6:27Speaker 6: I know everybody likes what they like, but as somebody
- 6:30Speaker 6: who does not like winter. I'm just like, I just
- 6:32Speaker 6: I hope you all got what you want. But I listen,
- 6:36Speaker 6: I used I showed you some of the forecast models
- 6:38Speaker 6: stuff for this weekend. I mean, but I don't want
- 6:41Speaker 6: any more of this. I want some time.
- 6:43Speaker 5: What is the I mean, we don't want to get
- 6:45Speaker 5: ahead of ourselves, right, But you're saying that for this
- 6:47Speaker 5: weekend we could be looking at another round.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Yeah, the European forecast model. And I'm not here's the
- 6:52Speaker 6: I'm not even post. Let's get through this, do you know?
- 6:55Speaker 6: Do you know this would go gangbusters online and it's
- 6:58Speaker 6: I've already seen it being posted online. But I want
- 7:02Speaker 6: I'm gonna wait at least maybe even late tonight, maybe tomorrow.
- 7:05Speaker 6: I'm afraid if this, if this comes if this comes true,
- 7:08Speaker 6: that's more than what we got in some places in
- 7:11Speaker 6: Superstorm Sandy.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Okay, So which model Because we hear the American, we
- 7:16Speaker 5: hear the European. There's all these different model which model
- 7:19Speaker 5: actually quote unquote one out in the storm.
- 7:22Speaker 6: So the European model one out? Now I could go back,
- 7:27Speaker 6: I can go back and look specifically. Okay, but the
- 7:29Speaker 6: European the European for the most part, is the one
- 7:32Speaker 6: that did win. You also had the German model. If
- 7:36Speaker 6: German model actually did pretty good, it did actually very
- 7:39Speaker 6: good because it kept it kept the snow totals across
- 7:43Speaker 6: our region actually in check. And it may have been
- 7:47Speaker 6: just a couple of inches over, but it still was
- 7:51Speaker 6: really good. Matter of fact, actually I showed a couple
- 7:54Speaker 6: of people some of the ice potential totals that were
- 7:57Speaker 6: coming through, and I was like, oh my gosh, and
- 8:00Speaker 6: lo and behold look what we got. I mean we
- 8:01Speaker 6: had we had about a quarter inch for the most part.
- 8:04Speaker 6: You get in southern West Virginia down to the Greenbrier
- 8:07Speaker 6: Valley the quarter to like four tenths of an inch
- 8:10Speaker 6: in some spots. But still the most power outages are
- 8:14Speaker 6: here in Kanon County. The entire state Kindar County fourteen
- 8:17Speaker 6: than six hundred customers without power.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Well, and the roads are passable on the interstates, but
- 8:23Speaker 5: the side streets and the back roads are just are
- 8:25Speaker 5: still horrible and they're gonna they're going to remain that
- 8:27Speaker 5: way for a while.
- 8:28Speaker 6: They're passable, but they're still not good. Yeah, but yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 6: if you're just so you know, and this is in
- 8:34Speaker 6: talking with with with the mayor, with Mayor Amy Goodwin
- 8:38Speaker 6: last week, you know, we were talking about the snow
- 8:41Speaker 6: potential and she goes, Briana, don't want ice, and I said, well,
- 8:45Speaker 6: the problem is that's the potential too if that, you know,
- 8:47Speaker 6: if the wedge wins out. But I said, she ges,
- 8:50Speaker 6: that's my biggest fear. And I said, I know, because
- 8:53Speaker 6: the problem is going to be the cold this week.
- 8:55Speaker 6: And I said, what he is here will be here
- 8:58Speaker 6: for a solid week. And I said that Canal City Flats.
- 9:02Speaker 2: They're there. It's all eyes. Uh, I mean it's we
- 9:05Speaker 2: all know this is ice everywhere.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Yeah, but this is the I feel bad for the
- 9:09Speaker 6: road crews that are out there there. They were going,
- 9:12Speaker 6: everybody was State City, County, Uh, you know, all the
- 9:16Speaker 6: everybody was going. They were trying to get the slush
- 9:20Speaker 6: away from the roads as best they could trying. But
- 9:23Speaker 6: the problem is obviously we got down you know, the
- 9:25Speaker 6: teens and such overnight and we're not going to get
- 9:27Speaker 6: out of the teens today. Uh, maybe up to twenty,
- 9:30Speaker 6: but you know, we go tonight down to the single
- 9:32Speaker 6: digits and and and the numbers for the next uh,
- 9:35Speaker 6: for the next five days listens to tonight eight Wednesday morning,
- 9:41Speaker 6: seven Thursday morning, two on Friday morning, one below on
- 9:44Speaker 6: Saturday morning, and then three below on Sunday, and by
- 9:48Speaker 6: Monday we maybe.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Get to thirty three degrees.
- 9:51Speaker 6: Maybe, but maybe because if the European forecast model wins
- 9:54Speaker 6: out as what it's showing right now, we got a
- 9:57Speaker 6: gangbuster snowstorm coming this weekend.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Just get through this one.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I know exactly.
- 10:01Speaker 6: It's what what the main message is this, it is
- 10:05Speaker 6: going to it is going to be very cold. If
- 10:08Speaker 6: more power outages happen or infrastructure issues go on, this
- 10:13Speaker 6: cold could be deadly in some very very rare cases. Okay,
- 10:18Speaker 6: So if your neighbor is doesn't have is all electric,
- 10:23Speaker 6: they don't have gas, or they don't have a you know,
- 10:25Speaker 6: wood burning stove, help them out.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, hang out with me here one second.
- 10:30Speaker 5: You're welcome to I mean, you had other things to do,
- 10:32Speaker 5: but your I have nothing to do. We'll watch your maps.
- 10:35Speaker 5: Let's bring a doctor, Casey Sacks a bridge Valley. Good morning,
- 10:39Speaker 5: doctor Sachs, welcome to the show.
- 10:41Speaker 7: Good morning. How are you doing today, Dave?
- 10:43Speaker 5: You get to hang out a little bit with Brian
- 10:45Speaker 5: Hughes a little bit. I hope that's okay.
- 10:47Speaker 7: Well, Hi, Brian Hughes, Well.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Good morning to you. I hope you're enjoying this cold
- 10:51Speaker 2: weather at home. I'm assuming I suspect I.
- 10:55Speaker 7: May be developing an allergy to the cold.
- 10:58Speaker 2: We all have.
- 10:59Speaker 5: And this is somebody who's from Colorado originally he did.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Just keep that in mind. So no classes today, right.
- 11:05Speaker 7: No classes today. It's really a bummer because we were
- 11:08Speaker 7: supposed to have our white coat ceremony for our new
- 11:11Speaker 7: nurses tonight. We'll have to reschedule it.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Okay, all right, So have we rescheduled it yet or
- 11:16Speaker 5: are you going to have to get us a time
- 11:17Speaker 5: on that.
- 11:18Speaker 7: I'll have to get you a time. I spent my
- 11:20Speaker 7: being a message this morning, but I think he may
- 11:22Speaker 7: be playing in the snow with his dogs.
- 11:24Speaker 5: I got it, all right. So you've been all around
- 11:26Speaker 5: the country talking about the good things going on at
- 11:27Speaker 5: Bridge Valley. You told me you spoke at a big
- 11:30Speaker 5: conference talk about that.
- 11:32Speaker 7: Yeah, it was actually in London.
- 11:34Speaker 5: Wow. Okay, the one in England, not the one in
- 11:38Speaker 5: and the other side of Knawa County.
- 11:40Speaker 7: That's right, the one in England.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Okay.
- 11:43Speaker 7: So the conference is called bet Be Ett. It's an
- 11:46Speaker 7: education technology conference. They had thirty eight thousand attendees this year,
- 11:51Speaker 7: and the Texas Education Foundation paid for a group of
- 11:55Speaker 7: US to go to represent the United States, and they
- 11:58Speaker 7: wanted a community college president as part of the delegation,
- 12:01Speaker 7: and so they chose Bridge Valley because of the great
- 12:04Speaker 7: work that's happening right here in the valley with workforce development.
- 12:08Speaker 7: They were so interested to talk about how we talk
- 12:11Speaker 7: to employers to make sure that the things that we're
- 12:13Speaker 7: teaching in the classroom align with what our employers actually need.
- 12:16Speaker 5: That's great that I mean that. I said that you're
- 12:19Speaker 5: going across the country, but in this case, you went
- 12:21Speaker 5: across the pond.
- 12:22Speaker 3: That's pretty good, Sun I did.
- 12:24Speaker 7: It was really amazing. And you know, we sort of
- 12:27Speaker 7: take it for granted because it's just how we do
- 12:29Speaker 7: things at Bridge Valley. But when you start to hear
- 12:32Speaker 7: people from all over the world say how do your
- 12:35Speaker 7: faculty do that? And what's going on? And that's that
- 12:38Speaker 7: it's really special. It's so fun to get to brag
- 12:41Speaker 7: about West Virginia like that.
- 12:43Speaker 5: And you've been out to talk a little bit about
- 12:45Speaker 5: AI as well.
- 12:47Speaker 7: I have so a big part of the ed Tech
- 12:49Speaker 7: conference is thinking through how does artificial intelligence change teaching
- 12:54Speaker 7: and learning? And I think the big message is that
- 12:57Speaker 7: it's changing lots of jobs and so if when our
- 13:01Speaker 7: role is to listen to employers and to be responsive
- 13:03Speaker 7: to what employers need, part of that is how do
- 13:07Speaker 7: we help the workforce of tomorrow understand how to use
- 13:10Speaker 7: this new technology in a variety of ways. Manufacturing is
- 13:13Speaker 7: changing because of AI and robotics, So really thinking through
- 13:18Speaker 7: how does that work and what do companies want and
- 13:20Speaker 7: do they want it right now or do they want
- 13:21Speaker 7: it ten years from now are things that our faculty
- 13:24Speaker 7: are really grappling with and trying to figure out how
- 13:27Speaker 7: to put into their classrooms.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Talk to doctor Casey Sachs Abridge Value the Dave Island
- 13:31Speaker 5: Show on five Adieline brought to you part by Morgan
- 13:33Speaker 5: and Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. Before we let
- 13:36Speaker 5: you go, last time you're on, you talked about adults
- 13:38Speaker 5: going back to school. What can you tell us about that?
- 13:42Speaker 7: Yeah, So we actually recently got a grant with the
- 13:45Speaker 7: Lumina Foundation to really dig into Internet data. It turns
- 13:50Speaker 7: out anything you search on the Internet becomes part of
- 13:53Speaker 7: a database that you can mine, and so the Lumina
- 13:56Speaker 7: Foundation is helping us figure out how to mine the
- 13:59Speaker 7: internet to find out who are the adults in our
- 14:02Speaker 7: region who are interested in going back to school and
- 14:04Speaker 7: how do we more intentionally target them. So we're working
- 14:07Speaker 7: on this great project and hopefully if you're an adult
- 14:10Speaker 7: listening and you've googled at some point, hey, I'm thinking
- 14:13Speaker 7: about changing jobs or going back to school and what
- 14:17Speaker 7: might I want to do? That that means that you're
- 14:20Speaker 7: someone who we can more intentionally target and help make
- 14:22Speaker 7: sure you find the right program at Bridge Valley, Doctor.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Keasey Saxonbridge Valley.

- 16:59Speaker 5: beyond the state. Jack avlatest episode is wv Metronews dot
- 17:02Speaker 5: Com into the podcast menu. Something new coming to the area,
- 17:05Speaker 5: the first of it's kind in the Kanaul Valley not
- 17:07Speaker 5: for profit consumer credit counseling service. It's called Consumer Credit
- 17:11Speaker 5: Counseling Services of the midd Ohio Valley. Now they're moving
- 17:14Speaker 5: into our area. Selene Shrewsbury is executive director and she
- 17:17Speaker 5: joins us now, good morning to welcome to the show.
- 17:20Speaker 11: Good morning, thanks for having me.
- 17:22Speaker 5: You're being here and I hope you're staying safe and
- 17:25Speaker 5: warm this morning.
- 17:27Speaker 11: I am. I'm working from home today just to avoid
- 17:31Speaker 11: all the ice and weather that's outside. I'm just going
- 17:34Speaker 11: to stay inside and stay warm.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Well, that's good, sounds good work if you can get it.
- 17:38Speaker 5: I've got Brian Hughes here Meteorologies, Brian Hughes joining me
- 17:40Speaker 5: this morning as well. Tell me about about the services
- 17:44Speaker 5: that that you folks will be offering.
- 17:46Speaker 11: Yeah, so, we're a nonprofit financial counseling, education, and advocacy organization.
- 17:52Speaker 11: There actually was a similar organization a few years back
- 17:55Speaker 11: in you're all's area. But our chapter, the midd Ohio
- 17:58Speaker 11: Valley is kind of seeing that there is a major
- 18:03Speaker 11: need in and around the entire state of West Virginia,
- 18:06Speaker 11: but specifically we know Kanall County being probably the most populated,
- 18:11Speaker 11: that we really can fill much of the financial needs
- 18:15Speaker 11: of families and individuals that are struggling. You know, the
- 18:18Speaker 11: cost of things are going up all around us, and
- 18:21Speaker 11: salaries aren't keeping up and what better way than to
- 18:25Speaker 11: have somebody who can advocate for you, who can provide
- 18:28Speaker 11: you with some tools and resources in a very non
- 18:30Speaker 11: judgmental way, and guide you through any challenge that you
- 18:34Speaker 11: might be facing or goal that you're looking to achieve financially.
- 18:37Speaker 5: And what are some of those things that you commonly
- 18:40Speaker 5: hear from people when they come to you for your services.
- 18:43Speaker 11: So most often it's that they've run out of months before,
- 18:47Speaker 11: or they've run out of money before the month is up, right,
- 18:49Speaker 11: so they're just overwhelmed.
- 18:52Speaker 5: Like at the old country song. The old country song
- 18:54Speaker 5: was there's not enough month at the end of the
- 18:57Speaker 5: money or something like that.
- 18:58Speaker 11: Yes, yes, and it's very true for so many people.
- 19:03Speaker 11: And you know they're doing good work, they are looking
- 19:07Speaker 11: at all ways that they can make extra money, and
- 19:11Speaker 11: yet it still sometimes seems that it's hard to find
- 19:14Speaker 11: your way out. We can really sit down with our
- 19:18Speaker 11: families and individuals and help them kind of from the
- 19:21Speaker 11: outside looking in, map a plan to get them out
- 19:25Speaker 11: of debt. Maybe they're overwhelmed with credit card debt that
- 19:29Speaker 11: you know, they can't even really look back and see, well,
- 19:31Speaker 11: where did this start from. It happens a little over
- 19:34Speaker 11: time and so we can really help them just find
- 19:39Speaker 11: a solution. We actually work with many of the major
- 19:42Speaker 11: credit card companies to have agreed upon from the very start,
- 19:47Speaker 11: lowered interest rates, lowered minimum payments to help somebody see
- 19:51Speaker 11: themselves out of debt in three to five years. It's
- 19:54Speaker 11: a wonderful plan that you know, you just need an
- 19:58Speaker 11: agency such as ourselves to help help you through that.
- 20:02Speaker 11: So we you know that and many other cases housing situations,
- 20:06Speaker 11: delinquent housing. We're a HUD certified Housing counseling agent and
- 20:10Speaker 11: we can guide people through a goal that they're looking
- 20:13Speaker 11: to become a homeowner or to preserve their home ownership.
- 20:17Speaker 6: When you talk about the counseling, credit, counseling things of
- 20:20Speaker 6: this nature, is it is it any way classified you know,
- 20:25Speaker 6: if in your future as similar to a bankruptcy or
- 20:28Speaker 6: is this something that doesn't have an impact on your
- 20:31Speaker 6: credit only obviously improving over time, But is it any
- 20:34Speaker 6: way similar to that?
- 20:37Speaker 11: It is the alternative to bankruptcy. It is going to
- 20:40Speaker 11: preserve your credit. It now you often depending upon you know,
- 20:45Speaker 11: what kind of advice we're getting or if you're entering
- 20:47Speaker 11: into that that repayment plan, debt management plan, closing an
- 20:51Speaker 11: account has a little effect on your credit in the beginning,
- 20:55Speaker 11: but as we continue to make your monthly payments on
- 20:57Speaker 11: your behalf, then you're going to see the things actually
- 21:01Speaker 11: get back on track. Especially for somebody who's fallen behind
- 21:04Speaker 11: already on their payments to their credit card companies, We're
- 21:08Speaker 11: going to get them back on track. We're going to
- 21:11Speaker 11: help them rebuild that credit rating and within a few
- 21:15Speaker 11: months even see that credit score improve well beyond any
- 21:19Speaker 11: small hit that closing a credit line has. Does have
- 21:23Speaker 11: an effect on a credit score, but it's nothing in
- 21:26Speaker 11: comparison to what a bankruptcy is going to do, And
- 21:29Speaker 11: a bankruptcy is going to hurt credit for ten years.
- 21:33Speaker 11: It can be much harder to rebuild after a bankruptcy.
- 21:36Speaker 5: Now, where are you physically going to be located here?
- 21:40Speaker 11: We are physically located in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Do have
- 21:44Speaker 11: a part time office in Jackson County in Ripley, West Virginia,
- 21:48Speaker 11: and we hope to soon have a physical location in Charleston.
- 21:53Speaker 11: Much of what we'll do will be in virtual sense
- 21:56Speaker 11: or visiting the area, partnering with some local social service
- 22:01Speaker 11: organizations to offer some in person education and again, we're
- 22:07Speaker 11: we're hopeful and even have some talks in the works
- 22:11Speaker 11: to have a part time physical location until eventually having
- 22:14Speaker 11: our own space.
- 22:16Speaker 5: All right, where can people learn more? Do you have
- 22:18Speaker 5: going to hit up the website or something?
- 22:20Speaker 11: Yeah, contact our website wv CCCS dot org. You can
- 22:26Speaker 11: also call our office three zero four four eight five

- 22:47Speaker 11: just want to be here to help you.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Chiline Shrewsbury, I appreciate you being here. You're the executive
- 22:51Speaker 5: director of this organization, Consumer Credit Counseling Services the Mid
- 22:54Speaker 5: Ohio Valley.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Appreciate you being here.
- 22:55Speaker 11: Thanks a lot, Yes, thanks for having me again.
- 22:58Speaker 5: All Right, it is nine thirty the Dave Violand Show

- 23:15Speaker 5: you don't know, Ken Hirsch. We'll talk to Danny Jones
- 23:17Speaker 5: coming up here in just a little bit. I want
- 23:19Speaker 5: to go back to Brian Hughes just for a moment though.
- 23:22Speaker 5: The snow continuing to fall here in the Charles'nry, but
- 23:25Speaker 5: it should be wrapping up at some point sometime.
- 23:29Speaker 6: It looks like, Yeah, what I'm looking at more than anything,
- 23:32Speaker 6: is that we're gonna have We're gonna have off and
- 23:34Speaker 6: on flurries all day long and even into this evening
- 23:36Speaker 6: and tonight, but that all wraps up as we go
- 23:39Speaker 6: into the daytime hours.
- 23:40Speaker 2: All the moisture is scoured out.
- 23:41Speaker 6: But the most of the moisture that we're going to
- 23:43Speaker 6: get today is all coming off of the Lake Michigan.
- 23:46Speaker 6: So we're seeing that influence from Lake Michigan late. You know,
- 23:50Speaker 6: to think, and I know this is crazy sometimes to
- 23:53Speaker 6: think about this, but you know, we have lake effects
- 23:56Speaker 6: snow that is absolutely impacting our region and it's going
- 23:59Speaker 6: to get uh for the rest of the day, and
- 24:02Speaker 6: then as we head into Tuesday. Uh, Tuesday afternoon could
- 24:05Speaker 6: have getten like little dusting of snow. But Wednesday night
- 24:08Speaker 6: into Thursday, that's another little round of snow. Could be
- 24:11Speaker 6: a dusting to an inch and maybe two to three
- 24:13Speaker 6: inches of the mountains of West Virginia. And then we're
- 24:16Speaker 6: obviously watching what's happening this weekend. And when I say
- 24:19Speaker 6: what's happening this weekend, uh, just looking at the latest.
- 24:23Speaker 6: So the AI version, speaking of AI, you know we
- 24:26Speaker 6: were with Bridge Valley just a bit earlier. The AI
- 24:29Speaker 6: version of this forecast model is showing that, you know,
- 24:31Speaker 6: we we could have going into this weekend, h some
- 24:36Speaker 6: big snow across the mountains of West Virginia, maybe even
- 24:39Speaker 6: down here into the canalbackay.
- 24:40Speaker 5: But primarily at this point we look at it, it's cold,
- 24:43Speaker 5: well primarily we're looking at easter here.
- 24:44Speaker 6: Yeah, primarily looking EASi here. But but as we saw,
- 24:47Speaker 6: things can change exactly. That's the thing. We're going to
- 24:49Speaker 6: continue to look at it. But the AI version of
- 24:51Speaker 6: the forecast model has been actually outperforming the standard model,
- 24:54Speaker 6: and it's still also showing snow as we head into
- 24:57Speaker 6: this weekend.
- 24:58Speaker 5: All right, I'm gonna have I know you're going to
- 24:59Speaker 5: make it appear on Talk Lane today. I'm going to
- 25:01Speaker 5: have you back this afternoon after two because normally I
- 25:04Speaker 5: do mayor Monday. But with all of the city halls
- 25:06Speaker 5: being closed around the state of West Virginia. I figure
- 25:09Speaker 5: we got Mayor Brian Hughes so you can come on
- 25:11Speaker 5: the show.
- 25:12Speaker 2: With h Now that people thought I was running for me, Yeah,
- 25:14Speaker 2: are you no?
- 25:15Speaker 3: I just thought i'd throw you about it.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Now I won't. I won't run against her.
- 25:18Speaker 5: Okay, but she's already said this is going to be
- 25:21Speaker 5: her last term. She do, yes, so you could run
- 25:26Speaker 5: in the future.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I'll leave.
- 25:28Speaker 5: You could talk to that guy right there, that guy
- 25:30Speaker 5: on the other side of the glass.
- 25:31Speaker 2: I don't know if I want to challenge his record.
- 25:33Speaker 5: All right, all right, Brian will talk to you later. Man,
- 25:35Speaker 5: thanks a lot about you rather than just Brian Hughesay,
- 25:37Speaker 5: it is twenty seven minutes now before the hour of

- 25:46Speaker 5: to me. I just like it just kind of flows.

- 29:09Speaker 5: actor and author. It's Danny Jones. How you doing, my friend.
- 29:12Speaker 15: I'm doing fine. I'm so happy that Brian is here.
- 29:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:16Speaker 15: I think that's what a deal. I mean, for this
- 29:19Speaker 15: radio station, for Metro News. Yeah, I mean, I just
- 29:23Speaker 15: think it's a heck of a deal.
- 29:24Speaker 5: We've done a lot, but it's the first time we've
- 29:26Speaker 5: ever had our own meteorologist.
- 29:27Speaker 15: I mean, he's a first class guy.
- 29:29Speaker 3: He is he really, he.
- 29:30Speaker 5: Is, he is, and he's gonna do a lot of
- 29:31Speaker 5: things for us. I mean, we're kind of breaking him in,
- 29:35Speaker 5: uh with weather, but that's not all.
- 29:37Speaker 3: He's going to be doing.
- 29:38Speaker 5: He's gonna be doing other things with us, including a
- 29:39Speaker 5: lot of sales stuff and you know, different promotion kind
- 29:42Speaker 5: of stuff. And of course he's still going to continue,
- 29:44Speaker 5: uh to be the director of the Regatta, working with
- 29:46Speaker 5: Mayor A Goodwin on the regatta. So it just so
- 29:49Speaker 5: happens that we had, you know, this snowpocalypse or whatever
- 29:53Speaker 5: you want to call it, when he officially doesn't even
- 29:56Speaker 5: start here till next week.
- 29:57Speaker 15: Do you know director of the Regatta wants really year
- 30:01Speaker 15: two thousand.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Okay.
- 30:02Speaker 15: They had gone broke the year before, and I showed
- 30:06Speaker 15: a profit in ninety six thousand, okay, and gave the
- 30:09Speaker 15: city back the fifty thousand that they put in it.
- 30:14Speaker 15: I couldn't get along with Nelson Jones.
- 30:16Speaker 5: Okay, that didn't work. Okay, all right?
- 30:18Speaker 3: Did you have fun?
- 30:20Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 30:20Speaker 15: I had fun. I put some of my own money
- 30:22Speaker 15: in it. I sponsored an event.
- 30:25Speaker 5: And that's one of the things about the regatta, Danny
- 30:27Speaker 5: and you and I have talked about this in the past,
- 30:28Speaker 5: and when when Mayor Goodwin ran on, one of the
- 30:31Speaker 5: things was she wanted to, you know, hopefully bring the
- 30:33Speaker 5: regatta back. The regatta went away because you can correct
- 30:39Speaker 5: me if I'm wrong, because a lot of the major
- 30:40Speaker 5: sponsorship when we couldn't get won, yeah, and so can
- 30:45Speaker 5: we get Bud Wiser couldn't get it out, and so
- 30:47Speaker 5: that's why, you know, when the mayor brought it back,
- 30:50Speaker 5: you know, one of the main I mean, she had
- 30:52Speaker 5: an incredible team around her to do it.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Not just her.
- 30:54Speaker 5: She'll be the first that meant that, but Brian Hughes
- 30:56Speaker 5: was a big part of that.
- 30:57Speaker 15: She had the American rescue plan.
- 30:59Speaker 5: Yeah, didn't hurt. Yeah, it didn't hurt, and now it's
- 31:03Speaker 5: it's good. Over the next I guess probably the next
- 31:05Speaker 5: month or two, they'll probably announce who the entertainment is
- 31:08Speaker 5: going to be for the regatta. And look, everybody wants
- 31:12Speaker 5: it to be like it used to be ten days
- 31:13Speaker 5: or whatever. That's just that's simply not feasible, you know,
- 31:16Speaker 5: it's just simply not feasible. No, we all used to
- 31:18Speaker 5: want to look back at things, we talked. We spent
- 31:20Speaker 5: a lot of time in the last couple of months
- 31:21Speaker 5: on the show Danny talking about the about the town Center,
- 31:24Speaker 5: and everybody wants it, you know, like it used to be.
- 31:26Speaker 5: It's just not gonna happen.
- 31:27Speaker 15: I was the one to cut it from ten to four, okay,
- 31:30Speaker 15: and in ninety nine it was ten in two thousand
- 31:34Speaker 15: and four, and the reason is because you had to remember,
- 31:39Speaker 15: Charleston was losing population. Just it just wasn't working well.
- 31:44Speaker 5: And I think too, and the mayor talks about this
- 31:45Speaker 5: a lot, Danny, is the fact that you know, I
- 31:47Speaker 5: don't think maybe people realize what a what a heavy
- 31:51Speaker 5: lift that is for the city workers too. Yeah, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 5: I mean, and that's and that's a lot of overtime
- 31:56Speaker 5: and you know, things of that nature. And and for
- 31:58Speaker 5: not just about the pay, it's it's about the time
- 32:01Speaker 5: away from their families and so on, and so it's
- 32:04Speaker 5: a it's it's a I mean, they're happy to do it,
- 32:06Speaker 5: but it's a lot easier on them if they cut
- 32:09Speaker 5: it back to you know.
- 32:09Speaker 15: And it's exciting. It's an exciting every few days.
- 32:12Speaker 5: Are you a winter kind of guy? I know you
- 32:14Speaker 5: were complaining a little bit because you haven't been able
- 32:16Speaker 5: to get to the y to work out. But do
- 32:18Speaker 5: you like wintertime?
- 32:20Speaker 15: Not really?
- 32:20Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not a fan. No, it's why you spend
- 32:22Speaker 5: that time in California.
- 32:24Speaker 15: Right, Well, California is different. It's noting like Florida or
- 32:28Speaker 15: South Carolina. What's so different about it? It's not it's
- 32:31Speaker 15: not hot hot. I guess if you go to Palm
- 32:34Speaker 15: Springs it would be, right. But where I am, the
- 32:37Speaker 15: wind's always blowing seventy degrees and it's just beautiful.
- 32:43Speaker 5: My god, that sounds so good right now? Yeah, And
- 32:45Speaker 5: it's as somebody who cannot stand winter, that sounds really good,
- 32:50Speaker 5: right yeah?
- 32:51Speaker 15: And now overnight, you know, like I'm sure it's forty
- 32:57Speaker 15: degrees last night.
- 32:59Speaker 5: But still that's white jacket weather.
- 33:01Speaker 15: That's like right now because six o'clock in the morning,
- 33:05Speaker 15: sixth forty.
- 33:06Speaker 5: Yeah. So yeah, So what's the latest with the book.
- 33:11Speaker 15: Well, it's selling, okay, selling, well, I mean we're I'm
- 33:15Speaker 15: changing printers. Yeah, and we're going to have it done
- 33:20Speaker 15: locally here and instead of being thirty six ninety five
- 33:25Speaker 15: because they Paul Metto raised the price on us, we're
- 33:29Speaker 15: gonna have it done by West Virginia Books, which is
- 33:32Speaker 15: on the West side. Okay, it'll be a paperback edition
- 33:36Speaker 15: and it'll be twenty four ninety five Okay.
- 33:39Speaker 5: And where will it be available, Well, I don't know yet,
- 33:42Speaker 5: you don't know.
- 33:42Speaker 15: That'll be up to Bill.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Okay, I got you. I want to go national here
- 33:47Speaker 5: for a moment and I want to talk to you
- 33:49Speaker 5: about Minneapolis. And I know I saw something that you posted,
- 33:54Speaker 5: Danny on social media where you and I'm paraphrasing here,
- 33:57Speaker 5: but you pretty much said that the the news depresses
- 34:02Speaker 5: you these days, you find yourself watching more sports documentaries.
- 34:06Speaker 15: Well, I also said there's some egregious Fourth Amendment violations
- 34:11Speaker 15: going on up there.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Okay, and.
- 34:17Speaker 15: The which I believe everybody's entitled to process, whether it's
- 34:23Speaker 15: civil or criminal. They're entitled to process, and they're not
- 34:28Speaker 15: getting up there. They're they're knocking down doors without what
- 34:33Speaker 15: They're knocking down doors without knocking on the doors, right,
- 34:37Speaker 15: they're just knock and bringing people out in their boxers
- 34:41Speaker 15: and you know, in the zero.
- 34:43Speaker 5: Well, and I think sometimes an I'm no constitutional expert
- 34:47Speaker 5: by any stretch of the imagination, Danny, but uh, some
- 34:50Speaker 5: some of the arguments that you get from people online
- 34:53Speaker 5: or whatever. They'll say something like, well, these people are illegal,
- 34:56Speaker 5: they don't have rights.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Actually they do.
- 35:00Speaker 5: They did once they're on It doesn't matter whether they're here,
- 35:02Speaker 5: and we can like it or not like it. But
- 35:04Speaker 5: the fact is that once they are on American property,
- 35:08Speaker 5: they do have rights and they are protected by the Constitution,
- 35:10Speaker 5: whether they are a citizen or not.
- 35:12Speaker 15: And not only that, some of the people that are
- 35:14Speaker 15: taking in are naturalized or maybe born citizens. And the
- 35:20Speaker 15: conservative editorial board of the Wall Street Journal has come
- 35:25Speaker 15: out and pretty well said in their document and their
- 35:29Speaker 15: lead editorial this morning, it's time for.
- 35:32Speaker 5: ICE to get out of Minneapolis. And what we saw,
- 35:35Speaker 5: if I am correct, with the situation over the weekend,
- 35:37Speaker 5: this was not ICE. This was Border Patrol, which are
- 35:40Speaker 5: two different organizations. Sure, yeah, okay, it was border control.
- 35:45Speaker 5: But I mean, and look, I you know, we were
- 35:47Speaker 5: in our meeting. We have every morning to talk about
- 35:50Speaker 5: what we're gonna talk about other different talk shows.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Today, It's like I.
- 35:55Speaker 5: Think TJ said it best, and during our meeting today
- 35:57Speaker 5: he said, you know, I don't know that it's that
- 35:59Speaker 5: it We should be editorializing right now because we don't
- 36:02Speaker 5: know all the facts of what happened up there the
- 36:04Speaker 5: other day over the weekend with this most regent, most
- 36:07Speaker 5: recent one. This was a military veteran that was killed. Yeah,
- 36:13Speaker 5: registered nurse, an intensive care nurse. Yes, yes, I'm sorry,
- 36:18Speaker 5: that's a veterans administration. Yeah, And we don't know exactly
- 36:22Speaker 5: what he was doing. He had he had a legal
- 36:27Speaker 5: permit to carry his weapon.
- 36:28Speaker 15: He had a gun that was not being it was
- 36:31Speaker 15: not in his hand, he was not threatening anybody with it.
- 36:34Speaker 15: He had one hand on a lady who had been peppers.
- 36:37Speaker 15: He was trying to help her. In his other hand,
- 36:40Speaker 15: he had his phone and they shot him ten times.
- 36:44Speaker 5: Congratulations, And this obviously bothers.
- 36:48Speaker 15: You and Stephen Miller and that Christy nom call him
- 36:52Speaker 15: a domestic terrorist as they did that lady in the car.
- 36:56Speaker 5: Right, do you think that there are similarities between the
- 36:59Speaker 5: two situations? Betwe the lady, because here here's the way
- 37:01Speaker 5: I look at it, and I'll editor realize a little.
- 37:03Speaker 5: This is just me being, you know, one thousand miles
- 37:06Speaker 5: away or whatever. I could see hear me out on this.
- 37:10Speaker 5: I could see where in the with the situation with
- 37:13Speaker 5: the lady that was killed, I could see where you
- 37:16Speaker 5: could make the argument that she was in a car,
- 37:19Speaker 5: it was a it was a target. I could see
- 37:22Speaker 5: the argument. Don't necessarily buy into it, but I could
- 37:25Speaker 5: see the argument there. Okay, it's hard for me to
- 37:30Speaker 5: justify this. Now. People will say, well, if you are
- 37:33Speaker 5: impeding with a legal proceeding of any kind and you
- 37:37Speaker 5: deserve what you get, are going to justify or whatever
- 37:40Speaker 5: you're taking that?
- 37:42Speaker 15: Well, she was leaving. I don't know as much about
- 37:46Speaker 15: that one as I do the other one. But she
- 37:51Speaker 15: was leaving, she was pulling away. And did they have
- 37:55Speaker 15: to kill her? Was it necessary? An angle from one angle,
- 38:01Speaker 15: was she's shooting her? I don't know, But the other
- 38:05Speaker 15: one is not even close.
- 38:06Speaker 5: I'm gonna give you a quote here, and this was
- 38:10Speaker 5: a quote from truth Social from President Trump he had
- 38:14Speaker 5: a gun. Only criminals carry guns on our streets. We
- 38:18Speaker 5: need law and order. Thank you for your attention to
- 38:20Speaker 5: this matter of President Donald J. Trump.
- 38:22Speaker 15: The only criminals carry guns?
- 38:24Speaker 5: Where's the NRA on this?
- 38:26Speaker 3: They're upset?
- 38:27Speaker 15: They are right, Well, let's get so are the gun
- 38:29Speaker 15: owners of America.
- 38:30Speaker 5: And they should be because we've preached this narrative and
- 38:34Speaker 5: I agree with it. I agree with the wholeheartedly that
- 38:38Speaker 5: I'm a second amendmic guy. Okay, but we've preached this narrative.
- 38:42Speaker 5: Then we've said that if we take the guns, only
- 38:45Speaker 5: criminals will have guns. And they said that for years,
- 38:48Speaker 5: and Obama's coming for your guns and so on and
- 38:50Speaker 5: so forth. Based on that statement there, it doesn't sound
- 38:54Speaker 5: like Obama's coming for your guns.
- 38:56Speaker 15: There are people that are and for your guns. If
- 39:01Speaker 15: he'd had his power, Mayor Bloomberg, he would have come.
- 39:05Speaker 15: He would have absolutely confiscate your guns, all of them.
- 39:08Speaker 15: And that was his feeling. It's just his Otherwise, he's
- 39:13Speaker 15: the best mayor in New York, said since since Lagordia.
- 39:18Speaker 15: But when it comes to that, he was just out
- 39:21Speaker 15: out of his leg. But I'm very upset about this
- 39:28Speaker 15: and this business about asking people for their papers. We
- 39:36Speaker 15: had that happen in this you know, before World War Two.
- 39:40Speaker 15: It was in German place called Germany. You know, let
- 39:43Speaker 15: me see your papers.
- 39:44Speaker 5: I don't know if you heard me tell the story
- 39:47Speaker 5: last week or not, Danny of what happened to my niece.
- 39:50Speaker 5: My niece lives in Wyoming County, young lady, she's nineteen,
- 39:54Speaker 5: and she was pulled over by by ICE agents. They
- 39:57Speaker 5: identified themselves as ICE agents, surrounded her car, black vans, masks,
- 40:02Speaker 5: the whole deal. And this was in Oceana, in Wyoming
- 40:05Speaker 5: count And she was she pulled over and they identified
- 40:11Speaker 5: themselves as Ice, asked her where she was going, what
- 40:14Speaker 5: she was doing? Uh, where she had been? And and
- 40:19Speaker 5: and again there's no way I can say this make
- 40:21Speaker 5: it sound politically correct, you know. They people have said
- 40:25Speaker 5: that it's a war on on Latino's the Spanish. She's
- 40:28Speaker 5: the whitest girl you've ever seen her in She's so white,
- 40:30Speaker 5: she's porcelain, and she's got.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Bright red hair.
- 40:33Speaker 5: And they never told her why they were pulling her over.
- 40:38Speaker 5: And she wasn't speeding, she wasn't on her phone or neath.
- 40:41Speaker 5: They they pulled her over and and and and asked
- 40:44Speaker 5: her where she was going, what she was doing, put
- 40:46Speaker 5: a flashlight in the back seat, and then she she
- 40:51Speaker 5: did say that they that they weren't necessarily mean about it,
- 40:54Speaker 5: but they were stirring about it. Let me tell you,
- 40:56Speaker 5: and I'm just like what.
- 40:57Speaker 15: You do not have to answer to the kind of questions.
- 41:02Speaker 15: You do not have to answer this kind of question.
- 41:04Speaker 15: If you're walking down the street and a police officer
- 41:08Speaker 15: asked you for your ID, unless he has what's called
- 41:12Speaker 15: reasonable artic, you will suspicion that are crimes afoot. You
- 41:18Speaker 15: do not have to give him your ID.
- 41:20Speaker 7: Now.
- 41:20Speaker 15: The one thing you do have to do if a
- 41:23Speaker 15: policeman pulls you over and tell she get out of
- 41:26Speaker 15: your car, you have to get out of your Okay,
- 41:28Speaker 15: but I mean in the Pennsylvania I can quote your cases.
- 41:31Speaker 5: Yeah, in her but in her situation, they you know,
- 41:34Speaker 5: I mean, she's a nineteen year old kid, and she complied,
- 41:37Speaker 5: you know, she did what they asked. But then they
- 41:39Speaker 5: let her go. They said, okay, you're free to go.
- 41:40Speaker 5: And well, she never found out why they pulled her over.
- 41:44Speaker 5: I mean, other than the fact maybe she had a
- 41:46Speaker 5: car that was similar to one they were looking for,
- 41:48Speaker 5: which I mean Okay, I get that, but just you know,
- 41:51Speaker 5: put yourself in her position, you know, being nineteen years old, and.
- 41:56Speaker 15: They were up here.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Yeah, all ICE is everywhere here. Yeah, I mean we
- 41:59Speaker 5: saw the you know well, you talked about it last week.
- 42:01Speaker 15: Yeah, they were on the roof at Rio Grandi, on
- 42:05Speaker 15: the roof. That's the building I used to own.
- 42:08Speaker 5: Yeah. Tex says, No, she wasn't driving away. Her little
- 42:12Speaker 5: girlfriend told her drive, baby, drive. I'm talking about the
- 42:16Speaker 5: situation with the with the lady in Minnesota.
- 42:19Speaker 15: Okay, all right, good, good point. But where was the
- 42:22Speaker 15: ICE agent? Was he in the way of the car?
- 42:27Speaker 15: And that is the that is what. If he wasn't
- 42:31Speaker 15: in the way of the car, he had no business
- 42:33Speaker 15: shooting her because all she was doing was driving away.
- 42:36Speaker 15: If he was in the way of the car and
- 42:38Speaker 15: she was trying to run him over, well and he's
- 42:43Speaker 15: got a defense.
- 42:44Speaker 5: Texas pretty interesting that everyone is chestpoundingly demanding the release
- 42:48Speaker 5: of all the names of the Epstein files, and yet
- 42:50Speaker 5: at the same time, these very same people are bending
- 42:52Speaker 5: over backwards and encouraging violence to make sure that ICE
- 42:55Speaker 5: cannot apprehend illegal child sex abusers and traffickers. That's interesting.
- 43:00Speaker 5: Waltz Fry and Ellison are milking this insanity for every
- 43:04Speaker 5: despicable evil point they can get. Tell them to tone
- 43:06Speaker 5: down the rh rhetoric and tell people to stop.
- 43:09Speaker 15: And do you know what the political what the president
- 43:12Speaker 15: has done here by sending ice into Minneapolis like that,
- 43:17Speaker 15: he has taken the narrative away from the nine billion
- 43:24Speaker 15: dollars that was stolen up there. When was the last
- 43:29Speaker 15: time you heard about that? You know what I'm talking
- 43:30Speaker 15: about with Somalia.
- 43:34Speaker 16: And.
- 43:35Speaker 15: You don't even hear about that.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Now.
- 43:37Speaker 15: Now you're hearing about a nurse, a v. A. Narth
- 43:42Speaker 15: being shot ten times ten in the streets from Minneapolis.
- 43:49Speaker 15: He had a phone in one hand and he was
- 43:52Speaker 15: helping a woman that had been pepper spray with another Texas.
- 43:56Speaker 5: In twenty ten, the Obama administration sued Arizona over its
- 43:59Speaker 5: contra reversial immigration law SB ten seventy, arguing that violated
- 44:03Speaker 5: the Constitution's supremacy clause by infringing on federal authority over
- 44:07Speaker 5: immigration policy. But Department of Justice argue the law created
- 44:10Speaker 5: an independent, restrictive immigration scheme that conflicted with federal government
- 44:15Speaker 5: that set the president for Mississippi.
- 44:17Speaker 15: I think that that the Supreme Court has changed since then,
- 44:23Speaker 15: and I think that the States might have more rights now.
- 44:27Speaker 15: I'm not sure. I'm not sure if there have any
- 44:30Speaker 15: subsequent cases. Maybe the the I remember that case, but
- 44:36Speaker 15: I don't know if there have been any subsequent cases.

- 47:23Speaker 5: for ten. Andy Jones is here. Tex says, we didn't
- 47:28Speaker 5: riot when Sarah Bextram was murdered by an illegal.
- 47:31Speaker 3: I don't think she was.
- 47:33Speaker 5: I don't think he wasn't illegal.
- 47:35Speaker 16: I don't think he was.
- 47:36Speaker 15: I think he was an Afghan national that had come
- 47:41Speaker 15: here because he had been an interpreter for US during
- 47:45Speaker 15: the war.
- 47:46Speaker 19: Yeah, TJ you went to weigh in on that he
- 47:48Speaker 19: was here. I legally, the administration had granted him asylum.
- 47:52Speaker 19: He was here, as the mayor said, because of his
- 47:54Speaker 19: works as an interpreter. I believe that the CIA may
- 47:57Speaker 19: may have been a different agency. But he was here
- 47:59Speaker 19: in the country legally, all.
- 48:01Speaker 15: Right now, But I gotta get the point. I'll give
- 48:04Speaker 15: you one totally. On the other side, I don't know
- 48:08Speaker 15: how long it's been. Could have been fifteen, twenty years ago.
- 48:12Speaker 15: I don't remember. Maybe somebody out there does. San Francisco
- 48:18Speaker 15: there was an illegal, multi criminal in jail in San Francisco,
- 48:26Speaker 15: and Ice put a hold on him and asked him,
- 48:30Speaker 15: asked that let us let us have him when he
- 48:32Speaker 15: gets out. Of course, San Francisco is not going to cooperate.
- 48:36Speaker 15: And he got out and killed a woman. Yeah, so
- 48:41Speaker 15: that's the other side of the art.
- 48:42Speaker 5: There's always another side, Yeah, text says Donald Trump has
- 48:45Speaker 5: already said take all their guns and sort of out
- 48:47Speaker 5: later says a text. I don't.
- 48:49Speaker 3: I don't you know he did, did you?
- 48:51Speaker 7: Actually?
- 48:52Speaker 5: I wasn't gonna argue with the textas and I didn't know.
- 48:55Speaker 15: That it was an offhanded to Mark remark. He was
- 48:58Speaker 15: at a meeting and he was just being himself. I
- 49:01Speaker 15: don't think he actually meant it. But I don't know
- 49:03Speaker 15: what he means. I mean Trump, I don't know that.
- 49:05Speaker 5: Trump knows what he means Texas. So Trump actually said
- 49:08Speaker 5: only criminals have gun? Sounds like the Night of Long
- 49:10Speaker 5: Knives is starting, says a texture. Text says, and just
- 49:14Speaker 5: like I said, why are you hearing about nothing but
- 49:16Speaker 5: Minneapolis now? Because they're milking this for everything they can,
- 49:20Speaker 5: Just like twenty twenty, these insane rioters have set up
- 49:22Speaker 5: no go zones that have called for the deaths of
- 49:24Speaker 5: ice agents. Enough is enough?
- 49:29Speaker 3: Can you repeat that?
- 49:30Speaker 5: And like I said, this is textra And like I said,
- 49:33Speaker 5: why are you hearing about nothing but Minneapolis now? Because
- 49:35Speaker 5: they're milking this for everything they can, just like twenty twenty.
- 49:39Speaker 5: These insane rioters have set up no go zones and
- 49:42Speaker 5: have called for the deaths of ice agents. Enough is enough?
- 49:47Speaker 15: They would be the people in Minneapolis that are demonstrating,
- 49:51Speaker 15: yes should we should they not be allowed to?
