- 0:04Speaker 1: The great Adam Schefter is with us. It's been a
- 0:06Speaker 1: while since we have spoken to him. I am delightful.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I am filled with with just happiness by seeing his face.
- 0:13Speaker 1: He looks rested, he looks great. He's in some sort
- 0:16Speaker 1: of dungeon. But Taylor was upset with you, and I
- 0:19Speaker 1: didn't notice it until now because he saw you on
- 0:21Speaker 1: McAfee and you were wearing an Oklahoma City Thunder jacket.
- 0:25Speaker 2: You still are and this is next time. Man. Come on,
- 0:27Speaker 2: we're two games away from the NBA Finals. What do
- 0:30Speaker 2: you do with Jefter?
- 0:31Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you exactly what under it stew Gut's.
- 0:33Speaker 3: The other day, I was on McFee. I was wearing
- 0:35Speaker 3: an Indiana Pacer sugirt. I had a friend who used
- 0:37Speaker 3: to work for them, and he sent me a couple
- 0:38Speaker 3: of shirts and I was wearing one on McAfee. And
- 0:40Speaker 3: as I was on the phone with Maciviee doing my interview,
- 0:43Speaker 3: my friend Matt Tumblson from the Oklahoma City Thunder and
- 0:45Speaker 3: she's like, why are you wearing Pacers gear? The Thunder
- 0:48Speaker 3: is still playing. I'm like okay. He's like, are we
- 0:49Speaker 3: gonna sing some gear? What's your d if? The Knicks
- 0:54Speaker 3: want to send me gear, I will wear it on
- 0:57Speaker 3: this Dude Guys show. I'll wear it on MacFee. But
- 0:59Speaker 3: then haven't sent me any gear, so I don't know
- 1:01Speaker 3: any nixt gear to wear. So Oklahoma said he sent
- 1:04Speaker 3: me gear, I wear what sent to me Stu guts.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Okay, So he's telling me to back the fuck off
- 1:08Speaker 1: essentially is what he's doing right now.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And you're right. I'm sorry. I apologize.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, if people want to send me stuff like that,
- 1:17Speaker 3: like Matt was kind enough to do, I'm happy to
- 1:19Speaker 3: wear it.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:21Speaker 1: This is going to really like a tailor is going
- 1:22Speaker 1: to be surprised by this. This is inside our industry.
- 1:26Speaker 1: But Matt Tumblson is one of the great media relations
- 1:29Speaker 1: directors in the history of sports.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Is that fair?
- 1:32Speaker 3: Oh oh yeah? Absolutely absolutely love the guy.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah, schefter, How excited are you the next year?
- 1:40Speaker 2: You've been a Nick fan your entire life.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We have spoken to you about the next I believe
- 1:44Speaker 1: you took your dad to a game last year. I'm
- 1:47Speaker 1: not certain if you're taking your dad to a game
- 1:48Speaker 1: where if you've taken your dad to a game this year,
- 1:50Speaker 1: But how excited are you as a lifelong Knicks fan,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I know we should be talking football. I don't really
- 1:56Speaker 1: care right now, it's next time. How excited are you
- 1:59Speaker 1: that we're too gay games away from the NBA Finals.
- 2:01Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 2:02Speaker 3: It's funny, you asked, because it was this time last
- 2:06Speaker 3: year where my father was turning eighty and I took
- 2:09Speaker 3: him to Game one of the Knicks Pacers, and that
- 2:12Speaker 3: was when they were up by seventeen in the fourth
- 2:14Speaker 3: quarter whatever it was, and Halliburton hit that jumper that
- 2:17Speaker 3: bounced up to the roof of Madison Square Garden before
- 2:20Speaker 3: coming down. I still don't know how that shot went in.
- 2:22Speaker 3: And now that night, I said to my father on
- 2:24Speaker 3: his eighth birthday, I'm like, the Knicks lost this game
- 2:27Speaker 3: and they just lost the series. And that's sort of
- 2:29Speaker 3: way that I felt after Game one this year, where
- 2:33Speaker 3: the Knicks rallied back from twenty two down with seven
- 2:36Speaker 3: plus to go in the fourth quarter, they won the game,
- 2:38Speaker 3: and they won the series, and that night, in my mind,
- 2:40Speaker 3: now maybe we'll be proven wrong, I'm gonna guess not.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I think that the series sworn that one night, and
- 2:46Speaker 3: I can only imagine what it's going to be like.
- 2:48Speaker 3: You know, if New York gets to the finals. What's
- 2:52Speaker 3: the last time there in the finals against the Spurs, right,
- 2:54Speaker 3: what year was that?
- 2:55Speaker 4: Ninety nine, the twenty seven years, And I remember them
- 3:01Speaker 4: in the finals against the Rockets the year of the
- 3:05Speaker 4: OJ Chase.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Everybody would always remember that. So it's not often that
- 3:08Speaker 3: they get there, it's less often that they win there. So,
- 3:12Speaker 3: I mean, I think everybody in New York, the New
- 3:14Speaker 3: York metropolitan area right now is all fired up about
- 3:16Speaker 3: the Knicks.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Do you think Nick fans are going to be satisfied
- 3:19Speaker 1: by just getting there?
- 3:20Speaker 2: Or do they have to win it? Because I'm terrified
- 3:22Speaker 2: of Wemby.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I mean, well, that's that's the downside of getting to
- 3:26Speaker 3: the finals.
- 3:27Speaker 2: If they get you got to play someone good.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Or the Oklahoma City Thug. Like, both of them are
- 3:33Speaker 3: tremendous teams, and I think the Knicks would be underdogs
- 3:37Speaker 3: against both, right, Like, would they be favored to be
- 3:40Speaker 3: either of those? Deep? No?
- 3:42Speaker 2: No, no, that would have you taken your dad to
- 3:44Speaker 2: a game?
- 3:45Speaker 3: No? No, he's in Florida and hetern eighty last year,
- 3:49Speaker 3: so no, and no one's invited us this year, So
- 3:52Speaker 3: that's the way he kind of goes, Right.
- 3:54Speaker 1: How often do you get invitations and just close mailed
- 3:56Speaker 1: to you. I mean, how often does that happen, just
- 3:59Speaker 1: like a package shows up in the house that it's just,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you know, a box full.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Of clothing from somebody who wants you to wear their stuff.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I believe that it's the only reason that my wife
- 4:07Speaker 3: still remains married to me today, wagging the mail on
- 4:12Speaker 3: a regular basis and there's nothing that gets her going
- 4:15Speaker 3: quite like swap arrives in the mail that she didn't
- 4:18Speaker 3: have to pay for, and I would say it arives
- 4:21Speaker 3: on an almost deal, like here's here's our ice cream,
- 4:25Speaker 3: here's our shirt, here's like maybe unbelievable how much stuff
- 4:30Speaker 3: comes in the mail on a regular basis, Like if
- 4:33Speaker 3: you had said to me I was growing up, Oh yeah,
- 4:36Speaker 3: you know, pair of sneakers will arrive in the mail,
- 4:38Speaker 3: Like hey, it's just I can't even believe how much
- 4:43Speaker 3: stuff there is that comes in the mail and how
- 4:46Speaker 3: much it pleases my wife.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Adam, do you have do you have a line where
- 4:49Speaker 5: you'll draw on the sand of things you won't wear,
- 4:52Speaker 5: because I'm imagining as a Michigan alum, if somebody sent
- 4:55Speaker 5: you Ohio State stuff, you're not wearing that not publicly.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Now, did I would get all sweated up in it. Yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I'm not coming on your show and wearing it on
- 5:08Speaker 3: your show, Nor am I wearing it on McAfee.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Has this been?
- 5:12Speaker 1: I feel like I ask you this every year, but
- 5:14Speaker 1: from uh, from a news standpoint, has this been the
- 5:18Speaker 1: busiest off season you've ever experienced?
- 5:20Speaker 2: No?
- 5:21Speaker 3: No, no, no, no like that. It's just the league
- 5:24Speaker 3: and where it's at. Like every year you know that
- 5:31Speaker 3: it's going to be busy, and I don't think this
- 5:35Speaker 3: off season is compared to other off seasons. But the
- 5:38Speaker 3: what you're what you're touching on is that I believe
- 5:42Speaker 3: that the amount of interest in the NFL grows every year. Yes,
- 5:48Speaker 3: you're really hungry. Anything tastes good, so there are a
- 5:53Speaker 3: lot of people that are hungry for information, so they think, oh,
- 5:55Speaker 3: we never taste anything like this before. But yes, there
- 5:59Speaker 3: have been fees, slight, this informational feast served every offseason,
- 6:03Speaker 3: bigger feast, better feasts. But because people crave it so
- 6:07Speaker 3: much these days, it might feel like it's been the busiest,
- 6:10Speaker 3: but it has not been in any way, shape or form.
- 6:13Speaker 2: In my mind.
- 6:14Speaker 5: You would have Adam for as good as Nick fans
- 6:17Speaker 5: are feeling. I think Giants fans feel worse because Robertson
- 6:22Speaker 5: Harris tears his achilles. And then your report where it
- 6:26Speaker 5: seems like everybody's unsure when Malik Neighbors is coming back.
- 6:30Speaker 5: What have you been hearing with that situation?
- 6:33Speaker 3: That one I think is problematic in the sense that, again,
- 6:38Speaker 3: if you just look at it, he's coming off the
- 6:40Speaker 3: ACL injury, there was the surgery, there was another surgery
- 6:44Speaker 3: to address the scar tissue, the stiffness that had developed,
- 6:49Speaker 3: and now they're saying they're hopeful that he's ready for
- 6:55Speaker 3: opening Day. But it's certainly I don't feel like anybody
- 7:00Speaker 3: seeing that with any degree of confidence. And so the
- 7:04Speaker 3: more that comes out with a player that great, that talented,
- 7:07Speaker 3: who means that much to the franchise, to me, it
- 7:12Speaker 3: sounds like it's ambitious to think that he'll be ready
- 7:16Speaker 3: for Opening night right now against the Cowboys, and I'd
- 7:18Speaker 3: love to be proven wrong there right now.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Are you surprised Joe Shane received an extension as the
- 7:24Speaker 1: Giants general manager? Is that just a product of the
- 7:26Speaker 1: two of them spending time together and liking each other.
- 7:30Speaker 3: I think that Joe Shane played it the right way. Okay,
- 7:34Speaker 3: smart enough to recognize that when John Harbaugh comes in,
- 7:37Speaker 3: I'm going to do whatever I can to serve him,
- 7:40Speaker 3: to compliment him, to make sure that he has wherever
- 7:43Speaker 3: he needs in getting acclimated and building this roster. And
- 7:48Speaker 3: it's not about me anymore. It's about him. It's his team,
- 7:51Speaker 3: it's his organization. And I think he was the one
- 7:54Speaker 3: that went to Baltimore to pick him up, to initially
- 7:56Speaker 3: fly him back to the Giants head quarters for the
- 7:59Speaker 3: first and he was the one that spent time with him.
- 8:01Speaker 3: He was the one who's smart enough to sublimate his
- 8:05Speaker 3: ego and recognize that he takes a back seat and
- 8:08Speaker 3: everybody takes a back seat to John in that organization.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Right now, he played the right way and he got
- 8:13Speaker 3: rewarded for him.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Is Joe Burrow right and saying this is the best
- 8:17Speaker 1: Bengals team he's ever had since he's been there, he's
- 8:19Speaker 1: been to the Super Bowl at him?
- 8:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, look if he's wrong during the season, but
- 8:31Speaker 3: on paper, it's great that he feels that way now
- 8:33Speaker 3: because they got to make him happy. Then they got
- 8:37Speaker 3: long term issues, so they they've done what they needed
- 8:42Speaker 3: to do this offseason. And we'll see what that means
- 8:45Speaker 3: once the regular season begins. But they've had a good offseason.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Adam, have you heard any whispers in Dolphins camp about
- 8:52Speaker 5: people feeling worse about Malik Willis after they saw that
- 8:55Speaker 5: first pitch by him?
- 9:00Speaker 3: Pitch goes up there amongst the worst first pitches I've
- 9:04Speaker 3: ever seen.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yes, Steven A.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Smith. Right, I'm trying to think of who else has
- 9:10Speaker 3: put themselves on the wall of shame with first pick.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Malik Willis is up there. He believed all the shame
- 9:15Speaker 3: with all those other people who have thrown Dona Rye. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:22Speaker 3: it was not it was. It was not a great pitch,
- 9:24Speaker 3: but fortunately throwing football is not baseballs.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Right. Have you thrown out of first pitch before?
- 9:30Speaker 3: I never have, really, I've never been asked to throw
- 9:33Speaker 3: at a first pitch. Yes, maybe one day. I wonder
- 9:37Speaker 3: what the pressure would be like that comes along with that.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yes, you seem surprised that you haven't been asked to
- 9:43Speaker 1: do it yet, And I'm also surprised by it by
- 9:44Speaker 1: the way someone should have asked you.
- 9:46Speaker 2: By now, I mean, you're Adam fucking Schefter.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I don't I'm not surprised by that you know, you know,
- 9:55Speaker 3: Stu Gotts, I'm more disappointed that you talked about us
- 9:58Speaker 3: going to a Nick game together. That would be a
- 10:00Speaker 3: great time. Nobody, nobody, those people are sitting court side.
- 10:04Speaker 3: All these people that are on those seats like they're
- 10:06Speaker 3: showing Steve Levy in some last night on TV. I
- 10:09Speaker 3: haven't gotten invited.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Right like if you well, no, but hold on, Levy
- 10:13Speaker 1: was court side. There's no way Levy was court side,
- 10:15Speaker 1: you know.
- 10:16Speaker 3: But it looked like he was. He had his son
- 10:18Speaker 3: there last night. He put him on TV. Yeah, yes,
- 10:22Speaker 3: maybe he bought the ticket. I don't know.
- 10:24Speaker 1: All right, So listen, here's the deal. If you want
- 10:26Speaker 1: to come to Cleveland. I'm in Chicago right now.
- 10:28Speaker 2: I'll meet you. I'll get you to court side seats,
- 10:30Speaker 2: me and you in Cleveland if you'd like to do that.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I'm joking.
- 10:34Speaker 1: If the Knicks make it to the NBA Finals, I
- 10:36Speaker 1: can't guarantee court side. I will buy me and you
- 10:39Speaker 1: two tickets. We will go to a Knicks finals game together.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Is that fair?
- 10:43Speaker 3: That'll be fun. That'd be fun.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Okay, all right, but not court side.
- 10:48Speaker 3: But but do you have Knix connections that you get
- 10:51Speaker 3: like upgraded seats. You pay for the seats, but upgrade seats.
- 10:54Speaker 1: If I'm being honest, I can get us court side.
- 10:57Speaker 1: If I'm being honest, how about this, Let's let's let's
- 11:00Speaker 1: make this deal. I get us to court side. You
- 11:04Speaker 1: pay for the tickets.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Of you know how much those courtside take. It's gonna
- 11:08Speaker 3: be for the finals. I do not willing to divest
- 11:13Speaker 3: my ira for Knicks Championship.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Take it all right, So let's settle, like on the
- 11:17Speaker 2: fifth or sixth row, I'll buy.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Okay, deal, deal, I'm in.
- 11:24Speaker 2: We're gonna make this happen.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I'm so excited. I'm going to a Knicks Finals game
- 11:26Speaker 1: with Chapter. I always thought i'd go with my dad,
- 11:28Speaker 1: but you know what a baling on my dad. I'm
- 11:30Speaker 1: going with Jefter.
- 11:31Speaker 2: That's it, Stu.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I'm looking on the secondary market right now, and row
- 11:36Speaker 5: four across from the nixt bench h one and ninety
- 11:40Speaker 5: four thousand dollars.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Right for a pair.
- 11:45Speaker 5: That's per ticket?
- 11:46Speaker 2: All right? I got you, Schefter, We're good?
- 11:48Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:52Speaker 3: I didn't mean to have to evict studs from his
- 11:55Speaker 3: house in Florida to get us.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Now, check how the first couple of rows at the
- 12:01Speaker 2: two hundred level. Okay, what you.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Said, first four or five rows?
- 12:08Speaker 1: Listen, I am. A promise is a promise. We've already
- 12:11Speaker 1: made a deal. First ten rows okay, and it doesn't.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Get any.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Very quickly.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Oh I'm gonna have us in the three hundred soon.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Oh my god. Do you get to enjoy your summer
- 12:29Speaker 2: at all? Like? Are you gonna enjoy it? Are you
- 12:31Speaker 2: gonna do something nice?
- 12:32Speaker 3: I've had a great summer, really great summer, so I've
- 12:36Speaker 3: it's been awesome.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Like rights, what you've been doing?
- 12:40Speaker 3: Played golf a few times? Like in Jerome Bettis's charity
- 12:44Speaker 3: golf tournament this past week, he had had some very
- 12:48Speaker 3: cool people lined up. I had a buddy that organized
- 12:51Speaker 3: a golf trip a couple of weeks ago. I get
- 12:53Speaker 3: another buddy that's organized another golf trip in a couple
- 12:55Speaker 3: of weeks, had some nice just just nice things that
- 13:01Speaker 3: It's just it's been in very nice offseasons so far.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm happy to hear that. I really am. I want
- 13:06Speaker 1: to play a game with you. It's called one Table.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:09Speaker 1: We've been playing this with a lot of guests lately.
- 13:11Speaker 1: The name of the restaurant is Schefter's Deli. Okay, you
- 13:14Speaker 1: own it. You're the host. You determine who gets to
- 13:18Speaker 1: sit when there's just one table remaining in the restaurant.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:22Speaker 1: So there's one table remaining Schefter's Deli in ann Arbor, Michigan, Okay.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And in Walks Desmond Howard okay. And in Walks JJ McCarthy,
- 13:35Speaker 1: who is Adam Schefter? Letting have that seat?
- 13:38Speaker 3: One last spot? Yes, I give it my seat and
- 13:44Speaker 3: put them both at the table.
- 13:45Speaker 2: You can't, you're hosting, you're standing. You can't give up
- 13:47Speaker 2: your seat. You can't see both of them.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Nick game with you me going and you know, like you,
- 13:55Speaker 3: I gave them my ticket to two Michigan men that
- 13:58Speaker 3: are that are more important than me, and I want
- 14:00Speaker 3: them both at the table, and I get But if
- 14:02Speaker 3: I had to pick one over the other, yes, I
- 14:06Speaker 3: don't want to do that. Like they're they're both.
- 14:10Speaker 2: You send them the Zingerman's.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Both worthy, they're both getting my yea, I'll buy them
- 14:15Speaker 3: both their lunch.
- 14:17Speaker 2: He doesn't want to hurt someone's feelings, Taylor.
- 14:21Speaker 3: I never wanted feelings, Taylor.
- 14:24Speaker 1: You want to try one out with the next try out,
- 14:26Speaker 1: try out a little brunts and one on them.
- 14:27Speaker 5: See okay, schefter, this table is going to be in
- 14:30Speaker 5: New York City. Patrick Ewing walks in. Jalen Brunson walks in.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Who gets the table?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Wow?
- 14:42Speaker 3: Wow? You know I've had the occasion to meet both
- 14:44Speaker 3: individuals and both have been exceedingly generous. Patrick Ewing sat
- 14:49Speaker 3: down with my daughter when he was coaching in college
- 14:54Speaker 3: basketball at Georgetown and couldn't have been nicer. And the
- 14:58Speaker 3: day the next one, the lottery stutsho, that is Nick fans.
- 15:00Speaker 2: That was like the greatest day ever, right, yes, of course, yes.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Jaylen Brounsey came down to a Monday night football game.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I was in Philadelphia for a Falcons Eagles Monday night
- 15:09Speaker 3: game and and Jalen was at our set and we
- 15:12Speaker 3: spent about fifteen minutes talking him and his dad and
- 15:14Speaker 3: he was really great. So just like I, I didn't
- 15:18Speaker 3: give up, I didn't pick JJ, I would to hear
- 15:22Speaker 3: these two men that, you know, Jalen the hopes of
- 15:25Speaker 3: nixt title knicks titles hopes rest on his shoulders. I'm
- 15:31Speaker 3: giving up my seat. I'm buying them both lunch.
- 15:34Speaker 2: You don't have a seat for crying. Now you're terrible
- 15:36Speaker 2: in this game.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I don't know who else in the restaurant, but I'm
- 15:39Speaker 3: telling you, get the hell up. We got Patrick, Jewey
- 15:41Speaker 3: and Jalen.
- 15:45Speaker 1: You're kicking someone less important. Chefter's Deli sounds great, like
- 15:51Speaker 1: a nice little Jewish deli.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Right, I'm all in for it, So let's go, right.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Yes, Adam, you can only have one. I keep doing that.
- 16:02Speaker 1: We're putting them in such a bad spot. But Michigan
- 16:04Speaker 1: wins the National championship. They just wanted a basketball They
- 16:08Speaker 1: win a football national championship, or the Knicks win the
- 16:11Speaker 1: NBA title, which one nixt Come on, He's thinking, wow,
- 16:20Speaker 1: I mean you just saw Michigan win one.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Well you know what. Michigan's won a football
- 16:27Speaker 3: championship a basketball championship. I was fortunate enough to be
- 16:31Speaker 3: at both, and in fact, there aren't many people in
- 16:35Speaker 3: the face of this earth that have been at both
- 16:38Speaker 3: Michigan basketball titles Seattle eighty nine, Indianapolis twenty twenty six,
- 16:43Speaker 3: and I failed to go to the ones that they lost.
- 16:45Speaker 3: So I my record at Michigan National Championship basketball games
- 16:49Speaker 3: just two and zero. So if they earned Detroit in
- 16:52Speaker 3: twenty seven, I will have to be there again as
- 16:56Speaker 3: their unofficial good luck charm. It's so great when they
- 17:01Speaker 3: win the national championship and it brings so much happiness,
- 17:04Speaker 3: but it has been so long since the next of
- 17:06Speaker 3: one one as well. I wouldn't want to deprive anybody
- 17:09Speaker 3: in the state of Michigan, nor in the New York
- 17:12Speaker 3: we along with a championship. So I would never never
- 17:18Speaker 3: prioritize over the other, especially if I'm not giving preferential
- 17:23Speaker 3: treatment to Desmond Howard or jaj McCarthy or Patrick Ewing
- 17:28Speaker 3: and Jalen Brunson, like I'm not doing that. Like there
- 17:30Speaker 3: are too many people that it would mean too much
- 17:33Speaker 3: to that. I'm not going to deprive them of any happiness.
- 17:36Speaker 2: All right, sorright, we get the point. He's lousy at
- 17:38Speaker 2: this game.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford, were you surprised one year fifty five million dollars?
- 17:43Speaker 2: God, that's a lot of money, man.
- 17:45Speaker 3: You know what, first of we won MVP last year. Yes,
- 17:47Speaker 3: I think it's a rule when you win MVP, you'd
- 17:49Speaker 3: probably get your contracted justice and addressed the next up
- 17:53Speaker 3: seasons and then just to quinch it, they go and
- 17:55Speaker 3: take a quarterback at thirteen. So if the quarterback is
- 17:58Speaker 3: a little salty, right how they use their thirteenth overall pick. Well,
- 18:02Speaker 3: that is just a final reason to address his contract
- 18:06Speaker 3: and to make sure that he's happy going to the season.
- 18:10Speaker 3: They give him the new deal. He's deserving and worthy
- 18:13Speaker 3: of that new deal, and they get that taken care
- 18:15Speaker 3: of as they should have.
- 18:17Speaker 1: A question as it relates to Taylor here, would you
- 18:20Speaker 1: judge someone at an open bar wedding who steps up
- 18:24Speaker 1: to the bar doesn't order any sort of alcohol, only
- 18:27Speaker 1: orders a Shirley temple.
- 18:31Speaker 3: By the way, like that may be me. I'm not
- 18:34Speaker 3: going to get a Shoy temple, but I get sparkling
- 18:35Speaker 3: water like I don't like drink going to a wedding
- 18:37Speaker 3: this freaking in Chicago. If judge the person who orders
- 18:41Speaker 3: a Shroy temple, they need to be judging me as well.
- 18:45Speaker 3: And I hope that nobody cast judgment on the fact
- 18:47Speaker 3: that I'm going to an open bar and I'm not
- 18:48Speaker 3: getting alcohol.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Taylor, you have found the kidred spirit of my life.
- 18:53Speaker 5: My point was just that Shirley temples get shamed, and
- 18:58Speaker 5: sometimes a Shirley temple, sure the temple just hits the spot.
- 19:03Speaker 3: No, I got no issues with that at all, right,
- 19:05Speaker 3: And I applaud it, I approve of it, I respect it. Yeah,
- 19:12Speaker 3: you know, my wife and I have been together twenty years.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Do you know any times she has seen me intoxicated
- 19:16Speaker 3: in twenty years?
- 19:17Speaker 2: How many?
- 19:18Speaker 3: Zero?
- 19:19Speaker 2: Really?
- 19:20Speaker 3: Really?
- 19:21Speaker 2: When's the last time you've been hammered?
- 19:24Speaker 3: College? Probably? Yeah, I just don't do it right. It
- 19:32Speaker 3: just doesn't happen much anymore. And yeah, like probably should
- 19:37Speaker 3: loosen up and I would drink every now and then,
- 19:39Speaker 3: but I just I don't need it right too happy
- 19:44Speaker 3: with that or anyway?
- 19:45Speaker 1: Yeah, well, and you're too busy too. I mean, who
- 19:47Speaker 1: has time for drink when you're as busy as you are?
- 19:49Speaker 1: I mean, I gonna get.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Early the next morning. Usually it's like if I drink
- 19:53Speaker 3: and we're not gonna feel great the next one, I'd
- 19:54Speaker 3: rather just get my day go on the next day
- 19:56Speaker 3: and not have to drink. So, you know, Holliday, we
- 20:00Speaker 3: can it be a nice reason to drink tonight or
- 20:03Speaker 3: at that wedding I'm going to go to tomorrow?
- 20:05Speaker 2: Yeah? Probably, Well who's wedding are you going to? Tomorrow?
- 20:08Speaker 3: Can you tell us one of my college roommate's daughters
- 20:10Speaker 3: is getting married in Chicago.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Oh nice, you gotta stroll up to the bar and
- 20:14Speaker 1: order a Shirley Temple or what.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Probably stroll to the bar and order a Shirley temple.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Compliments to you guys.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yes, wait, where is she getting married?
- 20:23Speaker 3: Where in Chicago?
- 20:24Speaker 2: Oh?
- 20:24Speaker 1: You're coming to Chicago tomorrow, to chicagomorrow. I mean, I'm
- 20:28Speaker 1: here right now if you want to listen. If Northwestern
- 20:30Speaker 1: wins today, that.
- 20:32Speaker 3: What are you in struggle for?
- 20:33Speaker 2: So?
- 20:34Speaker 1: I'm currently at Medill right now at Northwestern University. My
- 20:37Speaker 1: daughter plays in her fourth Final four today. Northwestern is
- 20:40Speaker 1: taken on John Hopkins. Carolina is playing in the early game.
- 20:44Speaker 1: If Northwestern wins, they play in the championship game in
- 20:47Speaker 1: Chicago on Sunday.
- 20:49Speaker 2: And I'll tell you what. Now, we have a new deal.
- 20:51Speaker 1: You sit with me for the lacrosse game, okay, and
- 20:54Speaker 1: I get his two tickets top five rows Madison Square guarded.
- 20:56Speaker 2: How about that?
- 20:57Speaker 3: Flying until tomorrow? And the wedding is you know it
- 21:00Speaker 3: starts as fin So I can't. I don't know the time,
- 21:02Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, but I just gave you an out
- 21:05Speaker 2: on the wedding.
- 21:06Speaker 3: I mean, but you know I'd love to do that,
- 21:10Speaker 3: but I'm going to be there for a very brief period,
- 21:11Speaker 3: like I was supposed to potentially going today, but I'm
- 21:16Speaker 3: here because my wife can't go. She's gonna stay by
- 21:19Speaker 3: and take care of our dogs. So I'm going one
- 21:22Speaker 3: night drink Shroy Pound Schroy Temple's at the bar by myself.
- 21:28Speaker 3: So if Northwestern doesn't win today'stude, guys, yes, you go
- 21:32Speaker 3: home tonight.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Well that's a good question. Because the Knicks are playing
- 21:37Speaker 1: in Cleveland. Cleveland is not very far from Chicago. I'm
- 21:41Speaker 1: thinking about having Taylor come up here and he and
- 21:43Speaker 1: I go to game games three and Game four together.
- 21:45Speaker 2: How about that?
- 21:47Speaker 3: That'd be pretty awesome, right, Yes.
- 21:48Speaker 2: And cheaper taking you to MSG. Yes.
- 21:52Speaker 3: By the way, I'm just trying to think. Actually, my
- 21:56Speaker 3: June is really June is very busy. I was gonna say,
- 21:59Speaker 3: if you want to go to the road game to
- 22:00Speaker 3: see as the New York prices, we can do that too,
- 22:02Speaker 3: But I just don't know to be able to make
- 22:03Speaker 3: it to Oklahoma City or San Antonio.
- 22:06Speaker 2: No, and I don't want to go to those places.
- 22:07Speaker 2: So I'm listen, I'm gonna honor it.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Okay, I'm telling you right now, Okay, you and I
- 22:11Speaker 1: go into a next game. I don't care what I
- 22:13Speaker 1: have to pay. I'll pay it. I'll figure it out.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I'll take out a second mortgage.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I don't care. There you, Adam.
- 22:19Speaker 5: What will make my day tomorrow is if you just
- 22:23Speaker 5: if you just text us a picture of your Shirley
- 22:26Speaker 5: Temple and it says sources, I just ordered a Shirley Temple?
- 22:31Speaker 2: Can you do that?
- 22:33Speaker 3: Probably get a sparkling war of a splash of like
- 22:36Speaker 3: something in there, like splash of like some and a
- 22:40Speaker 3: great virtuice or or whatever.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Right, Okay, uh? Are you a guy who will tear
- 22:46Speaker 1: up the dance floorida wedding?
- 22:48Speaker 3: No?
- 22:48Speaker 2: No, will you dance it all?
- 22:50Speaker 3: Maybe a little bit? Maybe a little Yeah, it's possible. Well,
- 23:01Speaker 3: you know he used to dance more and drink more.
- 23:03Speaker 1: In my twenties, right, yes, Are you a guy who's
- 23:07Speaker 1: going to like, like, how is this going to be
- 23:10Speaker 1: a celebrity wedding. I'm just trying to get to the
- 23:12Speaker 1: bottom of whose wedding it is really is what I'm
- 23:13Speaker 1: trying to figure out.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Celebrity wedding.
- 23:16Speaker 2: No celebrities.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I have not been to many, if any, celebrity weddings.
- 23:23Speaker 1: No, No, it's funny because you know, Mike Ola Junior
- 23:26Speaker 1: got engaged, he's going to get married, and we had
- 23:28Speaker 1: him on the air. He thinks, now, listen, he's a
- 23:30Speaker 1: rookie at this, and perhaps you can explain it to him. Okay,
- 23:34Speaker 1: he thinks he's going to have a pool party wedding
- 23:36Speaker 1: in which everyone could wear bathing suits, including Ed Orgeron.
- 23:40Speaker 1: He hasn't run this by his wife to be yet.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Can you tell him that's not happening.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I would say that whatever he thinks he wants and
- 23:49Speaker 3: what he thinks he will have meansletely nothing compared to
- 23:53Speaker 3: what his wife is thinking and wanting and desiring for
- 23:57Speaker 3: her wedding. This is not Mike's wedding day. This is
- 24:01Speaker 3: her wedding day. Doesn't matter what Mike wants. Fife wants
- 24:06Speaker 3: and I've never met her, but most women I've met
- 24:11Speaker 3: have not dreamed of getting married in the pool with
- 24:15Speaker 3: everybody swimming and jumping in and doing cannonballs. Most women
- 24:19Speaker 3: have envisioned for their wedding day. Now, maybe his wife
- 24:23Speaker 3: is different, Is Beyonce is different. That is entirely possible.
- 24:26Speaker 3: But I'm gonna guess he's going to have a wedding,
- 24:29Speaker 3: just like you had a wedding, just like I had
- 24:31Speaker 3: a wedding, just like everybody else has had a wedding,
- 24:34Speaker 3: and they're not going to be Withspito's bikinis on.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Yes, I at one point too had a dream of
- 24:39Speaker 1: stan Ban Gundy doing a cannon ball into.
- 24:42Speaker 2: A swimming pool at my wedding, and my wife nuked it.
- 24:45Speaker 1: But you do agree that if ed Orgeron and Brian
- 24:47Speaker 1: Kelly were indeed in bathing suit's pool side doing cannonballs,
- 24:50Speaker 1: it would be the greatest wedding of all time, right.
- 24:53Speaker 3: It would be an awful fun time. I just don't
- 24:56Speaker 3: think it's gonna come off that.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Way, Okay, Nick w and four?
- 25:01Speaker 3: No, I don't think four.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Probably fine, gentlemen.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Are you think four? Well?
- 25:06Speaker 2: I think four. Taylor thinks five.
- 25:07Speaker 3: I think five.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Okay, we're getting carried away. We're getting cocky. We haven't
- 25:11Speaker 2: won a game on the road yet.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Played great like they doesn't play great. They played great
- 25:16Speaker 3: at the end of game one, they played great in
- 25:17Speaker 3: the third quarter on Thursday, and I didn't play great.
- 25:19Speaker 3: So far Cleveland's been playing with them, so yes, yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 3: I think I think five games then Cleveland comes out
- 25:26Speaker 3: and plays a good game on Saturday, and then New
- 25:29Speaker 3: York gets serious and gets it done. That's my guest.
- 25:31Speaker 2: We'll get you out of here.
- 25:32Speaker 1: On this note, Taylor thinks it brunts in if the
- 25:34Speaker 1: Knicks win the title, Brunton goes automatically into onto the
- 25:38Speaker 1: Knicks Mount Rushmore.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Do you agree?
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yes? If they win a title? Absolutely? Now again, who's
- 25:43Speaker 3: on there today? I would say today on that Mount Rushmore,
- 25:48Speaker 3: you're thinking championship, So I'm thinking it's Willis Reed, Dave
- 25:52Speaker 3: de Busha, Dave de Busher, Wolf Frasier, Bill Bradley? Like
- 25:56Speaker 3: is that? Am? I am? I off there?
- 25:59Speaker 1: I think the only the only person people would put
- 26:02Speaker 1: in there is Patrick Ewing over one of them?
- 26:03Speaker 2: That's it?
- 26:05Speaker 3: Okay, who are you benching? Who are you benching over there?
- 26:10Speaker 2: No, it's a good point.
- 26:11Speaker 1: The four guys you name won a title, so and
- 26:12Speaker 1: they were all great players, they weren't you know, they're
- 26:14Speaker 1: not slouches here, So I mean, I guess.
- 26:17Speaker 3: You, I guess I guess Joan makes it. But over
- 26:19Speaker 3: which one of those guys?
- 26:22Speaker 2: Uh?
- 26:22Speaker 3: You gave me?
- 26:22Speaker 2: Who was it?
- 26:23Speaker 1: De Busha, Willis Reed, Fraser who was the fourth Bradley.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Maybe maybe Bradley.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Maybe Bradley, Yeah, maybe Bradley. And then if Brunson goes in,
- 26:31Speaker 1: who's coming off?
- 26:34Speaker 2: Ewing?
- 26:35Speaker 3: Right, maybe you're you're not taking Dave Busher off. You're
- 26:41Speaker 3: not taking off, You're not tell you yeah, brunts are
- 26:47Speaker 3: route like over ewing. But like that's I know it hurts,
- 26:51Speaker 3: but that's probably what it is.
- 26:54Speaker 1: You're saying with such pain, and so am I I
- 26:56Speaker 1: almost don't want to win the title now.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I mean, by the.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Way, like King should have gotten consideration to be on
- 27:02Speaker 3: their time. Great, of course, but there's no postseason success
- 27:08Speaker 3: to put in there.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Yes, Taylor thinks the fourteen Days of Insanity should be there.
- 27:13Speaker 3: No, I don't know. If I get carried away, he
- 27:15Speaker 3: was like, no, no, no, no.
- 27:19Speaker 1: No, no, Now I've gone too far.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Adam. We love you, buddy. It's great to see you. Look,
- 27:26Speaker 2: I can't wait to.
- 27:27Speaker 3: See you go to the finals. That's gonna be awesome.
- 27:30Speaker 1: No, we're going to the finals. And I listen. I
- 27:33Speaker 1: didn't want to say this, but I'll say it now. Okay,
- 27:36Speaker 1: if you're serious about this, I will get us in
- 27:38Speaker 1: the first fifty rows of that arena.
- 27:40Speaker 2: But I also sent the text Okay, I sent the.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Text uh to someone at the Knicks, asking if the
- 27:46Speaker 1: Knicks pull this off, can he get me and shift
- 27:49Speaker 1: on the parade wrap?
- 27:50Speaker 2: And his response was yes, how about that?
- 27:54Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, exactly, exactly.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yes, I was on the parade rap with Lebron J
- 28:00Speaker 1: when the heat won it. I mean I got my way, Schefter,
- 28:02Speaker 1: you know that.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Stu got time along for the ride, whatever, whatever you
- 28:08Speaker 3: want to bring me along to. I'm good. Why wouldn't
- 28:11Speaker 3: you be.
- 28:11Speaker 1: It's on me, all right, Get out of here, all right,
- 28:16Speaker 1: enjoy the wedding. I'll see you here in Chicago for
- 28:18Speaker 1: the finals.
- 28:19Speaker 2: All right.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Thanks, have a great weekend, guys,
