- 1:03SPEAKER_11: And anyway, look, the the listeners will probably be pleased because I'm not really even gonna talk about fighting games this time because I haven't had a uh time to play them.
- 1:09SPEAKER_11: So this there.
- 1:11SPEAKER_11: So so take that.
- 1:13SPEAKER_11: Uh right, so uh we've got your feedback, we're gonna be doing the news, we're gonna be talking about what we're we're gonna talk about what we've been playing, and then we're gonna do our radio style items in getting lucky and going wild, followed by your mail.
- 1:25SPEAKER_11: Does that sound good?
- 1:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you're uh not your mail, I mean the mail of the listeners.
- 1:28SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 1:30SPEAKER_08: My mail is probably horrifying, you know.
- 1:32SPEAKER_08: Bills and that.
- 1:33SPEAKER_11: Bills, yeah.
- 1:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's good humour.
- 1:36SPEAKER_11: Nobody likes Bills, do they?
- 1:38SPEAKER_11: Uh right, let's do some feedback.
- 1:42SPEAKER_12: What are you saying?
- 1:45SPEAKER_11: So, ghosts, they say, just managed to finish the latest podcast.
- 1:48SPEAKER_11: Don't stop doing that.
- 1:49SPEAKER_11: Listen, just managed to finish the latest podcast, and oh my god, if you want to go to a furry convention, I so want to try making you two masks to wear.
- 1:57SPEAKER_11: L M Ao.
- 1:58SPEAKER_11: Now, from what I understand, don't be a cunt about it, because they're offering something nice there, right?
- 2:04SPEAKER_11: Sean's just made a face.
- 2:05SPEAKER_11: Look, from what I understand, their mum is a costume designer for TV and film.
- 2:11SPEAKER_11: That's what I'm saying.
- 2:12SPEAKER_11: And you know, what do you do if you want to bring in an extra bit of pocket money?
- 2:15SPEAKER_11: You make fursuits, right?
- 2:17SPEAKER_11: So that's what their mum does.
- 2:18SPEAKER_08: No, but like like So that means like there's a there's like a nice community of people out there in that community.
- 2:24SPEAKER_08: No, I don't think there is.
- 2:25SPEAKER_08: And it's like that that guy sounds like he's just a nice guy, to be honest.
- 2:29SPEAKER_11: But what this feedback person.
- 2:31SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:32SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 2:32SPEAKER_11: But the the thing is, why don't you say your real opinions about fairies that you usually say, not not the sanitized one because this person's being very nice to us.
- 2:40SPEAKER_08: It's not that, it's just that I don't really like things.
- 2:43SPEAKER_08: I don't really like them.
- 2:44SPEAKER_08: No, I don't really I don't not like fairies.
- 2:47SPEAKER_08: It's just like I mean, I just don't really want to go to a fairy convention.
- 2:52SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we do.
- 2:52SPEAKER_11: This is it.
- 2:53SPEAKER_11: We need to we need we need to do more things with within the podcast to make it more entertaining.
- 2:58SPEAKER_11: It would be entertaining.
- 2:59SPEAKER_11: And they're offering to make masks for us.
- 3:01SPEAKER_11: So why don't we look let's put it in what would you what would your fursona be?
- 3:05SPEAKER_11: What do you want them to make for you?
- 3:07SPEAKER_11: Sean is cringing so hard.
- 3:09SPEAKER_11: You've got to be nice, Sean.
- 3:11SPEAKER_11: You've got to be nice.
- 3:12SPEAKER_11: Try him.
- 3:13SPEAKER_11: He's suppressing so much hate right now.
- 3:15SPEAKER_08: Sean does not No, no, I'm lying he seems like a good lad.
- 3:19SPEAKER_11: Okay, and first of all, it's not a bloke, but that's fine.
- 3:23SPEAKER_11: Um so you've you've misgendered them, so that's out of order, and you've had to go at the furries.
- 3:29SPEAKER_08: They're not a furry! I don't know what's going on.
- 3:32SPEAKER_11: Right, Sean is okay.
- 3:34SPEAKER_11: This person who is emailed in is not a bloke, and not a furry either.
- 3:40SPEAKER_08: Sorry.
- 3:40SPEAKER_11: But they've offered to make us masks.
- 3:42SPEAKER_11: That's all it is.
- 3:43SPEAKER_11: Okay, well.
- 3:43SPEAKER_11: That's all it is.
- 3:44SPEAKER_08: That's a nice thing to do.
- 3:45SPEAKER_08: Right, when we did kick off.
- 3:48SPEAKER_12: Fuck you for being a furry.
- 3:49SPEAKER_12: We did kick off uh Sean, you are such a hateful bigot.
- 3:53SPEAKER_12: It's under the I can't believe we is that.
- 3:55SPEAKER_12: Why are you saying why are you saying?
- 3:56SPEAKER_11: Because we've only we're only like we're we're five minutes into the podcast.
- 3:59SPEAKER_11: We've only done the first feedback first of all.
- 4:02SPEAKER_08: Second of all.
- 4:03SPEAKER_08: You put this up top, you know what you were doing, man.
- 4:05SPEAKER_11: I just did not.
- 4:07SPEAKER_11: That is absolute nonsense.
- 4:09SPEAKER_11: I just think look, if you're gonna go to a furry convention, put the effort in.
- 4:12SPEAKER_08: You see, you've like now you're just trying to like come off as like the good guy and I am a good guy, because I've never hated on the furries.
- 4:19SPEAKER_11: I've never hated on them.
- 4:20SPEAKER_08: What about the stupid girl?
- 4:22SPEAKER_08: What about the entire like podcast that you did about them?
- 4:25SPEAKER_08: But well, don't mention that.
- 4:26SPEAKER_11: I wasn't gonna mention that.
- 4:27SPEAKER_11: Well, anyway, look, what's your animal that you're gonna be?
- 4:29SPEAKER_11: They're gonna make you a mask.
- 4:30SPEAKER_11: What's it gonna be?
- 4:31SPEAKER_08: Well, my favourite animal is a gorilla, so we'll go with that.
- 4:34SPEAKER_08: If not, uh I'll go for African Grey, I guess.
- 4:38SPEAKER_11: What's an African grey?
- 4:39SPEAKER_11: Is it type of alien?
- 4:40SPEAKER_11: It's a parrot.
- 4:41SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 4:43SPEAKER_11: It's furries, not featheries, so you go for the gorilla, fine.
- 4:46SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I'll go for the gorilla.
- 4:47SPEAKER_08: Like sort of McGillilla gorilla sort of style.
- 4:49SPEAKER_11: Would that be your fur persona name?
- 4:51SPEAKER_08: Um, no, because that's that already exists.
- 4:54SPEAKER_08: It was a cartoon in the 70s, but um I would I don't know what name I'll give myself, but it like gorilla masks does sound good.
- 5:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I I disagree.
- 5:03SPEAKER_08: Okay, well, what would you go for then?
- 5:05SPEAKER_11: Well, because I want to go you want to go for like a cool animal.
- 5:08SPEAKER_11: You don't want to be like uh just a bloke walking around with a gorilla mask on.
- 5:11SPEAKER_11: I would go for something like a like a cool lynx or I don't know.
- 5:14SPEAKER_11: Something cool, not not a gorilla.
- 5:16SPEAKER_08: What so are you wearing like normal clothes or an African gay, whatever that is.
- 5:20SPEAKER_11: Um like what uh um what yeah, no, I mean like Well I'm uh I think in this situation, yes, you're wearing clothes, but you just got the mask on.
- 5:29SPEAKER_11: So that would look really weird with a gorilla.
- 5:30SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we're gonna.
- 5:32SPEAKER_11: Shall we move on?
- 5:32SPEAKER_11: Because this is clearly making you uncomfortable.
- 5:34SPEAKER_11: Yes, but yeah.
- 5:35SPEAKER_11: Sean's he's a bit older than me, Ghost, and uh I'm gonna be honest with you, a couple of years are a bit outdated.
- 5:41SPEAKER_12: Right?
- 5:42SPEAKER_12: We figured that out now.
- 5:43SPEAKER_12: Now we don't.
- 5:44SPEAKER_12: You bloody homophone.
- 5:46SPEAKER_08: I've made uh like an entire podcast about it.
- 5:48SPEAKER_08: Like dunking on the furry community.
- 5:50SPEAKER_11: Do you know what do you know what's funny is?
- 5:52SPEAKER_11: On that it was on a different podcast that we did.
- 5:54SPEAKER_11: We didn't exactly dunk on the furry community, but we did dunk on some very specific members.
- 5:59SPEAKER_11: And second of all, do you remember who I made that podcast with?
- 6:02SPEAKER_11: Who?
- 6:03SPEAKER_11: You! You were on the episode.
- 6:06SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 6:07SPEAKER_11: And you did more dunking right.
- 6:08SPEAKER_08: Well, I sat back in horror.
- 6:10SPEAKER_11: Should we apologize now to our brothers and sisters in the furry community?
- 6:13SPEAKER_11: We could just like redo this whole thing.
- 6:15SPEAKER_11: I'm not redoing it, right.
- 6:16SPEAKER_11: Next feedback.
- 6:17SPEAKER_11: Carti, he says, two hour set from the boys core, excellent.
- 6:21SPEAKER_11: Then he says, I take it all back.
- 6:23SPEAKER_11: Man said Kingdom Hearts 2 was alright.
- 6:25SPEAKER_11: This is peak character design.
- 6:27SPEAKER_11: And shares this picture of Sora.
- 6:30SPEAKER_11: Do you think that's cool?
- 6:32SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I mean, it's one of the transformations in Kingdom Hearts 2.
- 6:36SPEAKER_08: It's like it's cool.
- 6:37SPEAKER_11: I mean, if you like I think out of all of the suits he wears, it's one of the coolest.
- 6:42SPEAKER_11: But I can't go over the fact that in Kingdom Hearts 1 he's wearing a onesie, right?
- 6:46SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but it's it's sort of concealed by the fact he's also wearing a waistcoat.
- 6:49SPEAKER_11: I don't know and the big annoying boots are annoying, the huge yeah.
- 6:56SPEAKER_11: But uh I don't know, like Sora's design is mid as fuck, but that particular one and some of the Kingdom Hearts 2 transformations where it's like emo Sora are kind of alright.
- 7:06SPEAKER_08: Um they're cool.
- 7:07SPEAKER_08: I will I will say uh to the uh to this particular uh listener, I did 100% Kingdom Hearts 2, so I think I have the authority to say it's alright.
- 7:16SPEAKER_11: Yeah, um I didn't, but I did finish it.
- 7:19SPEAKER_11: And it is alright.
- 7:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:21SPEAKER_11: I don't think it's a bad game.
- 7:22SPEAKER_11: I think it's a good game.
- 7:23SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's good.
- 7:24SPEAKER_08: It is good.
- 7:25SPEAKER_08: It's not as bad as Kingdom Hearts 3, but one was like But it's not as good as one.
- 7:28SPEAKER_08: One was a masterpiece, though.
- 7:30SPEAKER_11: Absolutely.
- 7:31SPEAKER_11: Um and he continues saying you've redeemed yourself by saying you're hyped for Kingdom Hearts 4.
- 7:35SPEAKER_11: That's right.
- 7:36SPEAKER_11: Um he also says Sean on a streak this episode had me cracking up a fair bit.
- 7:40SPEAKER_11: Now I saw this I saw this feedback and I thought I'll take that as positive.
- 7:43SPEAKER_11: For once you've done something right.
- 7:45SPEAKER_11: Can you take your glass off the table?
- 7:46SPEAKER_11: It's making a fucking annoying noise.
- 7:48SPEAKER_11: Put it there.
- 7:49SPEAKER_08: Uh I'll just put it there so it doesn't Yeah, that'll do.
- 7:52SPEAKER_11: Um yeah, so Sean, you've made a listener laugh for once.
- 7:55SPEAKER_11: Usually you make them angry.
- 7:57SPEAKER_08: Um I mean, I'm here to like I'm here for that sort of purpose of making people laugh, really.
- 8:03SPEAKER_08: Like I don't I don't know.
- 8:04SPEAKER_11: And it's finally happened.
- 8:04SPEAKER_11: You said something funny.
- 8:05SPEAKER_11: Why don't you say something funny now?
- 8:07SPEAKER_08: Um, well, I mean I can't really say something.
- 8:09SPEAKER_08: It's sort of an emotional moment where I'm sort of like, you know, I don't I don't want to make people angry, you know.
- 8:15SPEAKER_11: What are you what are you talking about?
- 8:18SPEAKER_11: Just like you know.
- 8:19SPEAKER_12: Are you alright today today?
- 8:20SPEAKER_11: Because you're you're acting very like there was a simple question that came in from Ghost.
- 8:23SPEAKER_11: You can answer that.
- 8:24SPEAKER_11: I said say something funny.
- 8:26SPEAKER_11: Shut up.
- 8:27SPEAKER_11: I said say something funny, and you said I don't want to make people angry.
- 8:30SPEAKER_11: What is wrong with you?
- 8:30SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I don't know.
- 8:31SPEAKER_11: Are you alright?
- 8:32SPEAKER_11: You know, I don't know.
- 8:34SPEAKER_11: Let's have a little bit of a reset because you're shortening it a bit here.
- 8:36SPEAKER_11: That's just something people say, right?
- 8:38SPEAKER_11: That's something you've made up.
- 8:39SPEAKER_11: That's totally made up.
- 8:41SPEAKER_11: It's not.
- 8:41SPEAKER_11: Um right, so come on.
- 8:43SPEAKER_08: Take a deep breath back into the take a deep breath.
- 8:46SPEAKER_11: You stop talking over me.
- 8:48SPEAKER_11: Take a deep breath and then try better.
- 8:50SPEAKER_11: Try harder to do a good job.
- 8:52SPEAKER_11: Because this because this podcast is going down.
- 8:54SPEAKER_11: But I've never like And this is the worst episode we've done yet.
- 8:57SPEAKER_08: But I've never really done that before, so tried hard.
- 9:01SPEAKER_08: A good job.
- 9:02SPEAKER_08: That's true.
- 9:02SPEAKER_08: I have tried hard.
- 9:03SPEAKER_08: All right, well then you're trying hard now.
- 9:04SPEAKER_08: I'm sweating.
- 9:05SPEAKER_08: All right, okay, all right, all right, let's try to get it.
- 9:07SPEAKER_11: Let's see how well you do with this next bit of feedback.
- 9:09SPEAKER_11: Kenskey, he says your willingness to bring zero authority to fighter games while covering them honestly really landed.
- 9:16SPEAKER_11: That was an email, that was our first email.
- 9:17SPEAKER_11: He's somebody took the time to write that to us.
- 9:20SPEAKER_08: Zero authority, though.
- 9:21SPEAKER_08: I think we have quite a lot of authority.
- 9:23SPEAKER_08: I mean, I've been we've been playing fighter games for a long time, man.
- 9:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 9:27SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 9:28SPEAKER_11: Uh to be honest, Kenskey, that was just fit her thought.
- 9:32SPEAKER_11: You've you've hurt our feelings, alright?
- 9:34SPEAKER_11: And that's not what you want to do.
- 9:35SPEAKER_11: Okay?
- 9:36SPEAKER_11: Because that's just mean.
- 9:37SPEAKER_11: Don't be we want when we want feedback, we only want praise and nice stuff, right?
- 9:42SPEAKER_11: Because if you're mean to us, well then I'm gonna then I'm gonna just just stop doing the podcast.
- 9:47SPEAKER_08: I would like to hear how we have zero authority, but also like Yes, please please follow up and explain more.
- 9:53SPEAKER_11: Thanks for listening, though.
- 9:54SPEAKER_11: Yeah, actually, no thanks.
- 9:56SPEAKER_11: Right, let's do some news.
- 10:04SPEAKER_11: Yes, the fan-made fighting game project Sega vs.
- 10:07SPEAKER_11: Capcom the next level was shut down in early September 2026 after receiving a cease and desist order from Capcom.
- 10:13SPEAKER_11: Now you put the news, this news in here.
- 10:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I'll put it up at the top, man.
- 10:17SPEAKER_11: You know, do you know sometimes when you do the headline, do a punchy headline.
- 10:21SPEAKER_11: Why did you go for that?
- 10:22SPEAKER_11: Why was it so long?
- 10:26SPEAKER_08: Like, really, I couldn't really take anything out of the headline.
- 10:29SPEAKER_11: Okay, let me I'll I'll give you a little lesson, right?
- 10:32SPEAKER_11: Good fighting game cancelled.
- 10:34unknown: Okay.
- 10:34SPEAKER_08: Oh, that's quite that's a good one, actually.
- 10:37SPEAKER_11: Fighting game gets KO'd by C Syndefists.
- 10:40SPEAKER_11: That's really good.
- 10:41SPEAKER_11: There we go.
- 10:41SPEAKER_11: Thank you.
- 10:42SPEAKER_11: If if any newspapers are listening, I'm I am available.
- 10:46SPEAKER_11: Um so Foreside Studios acknowledged that receiving a takedown is an inherent r- You don't explain what the thing it is.
- 10:51SPEAKER_11: Right, Sega vs.
- 10:52SPEAKER_11: Capcom the next level was a fan-made fighting game where Sega characters fought Capcom characters, and what was cool about it was that they were putting obscure characters in there.
- 11:01SPEAKER_11: Like they had the lady from the Alien vs.
- 11:04SPEAKER_11: Predator beat 'em up arcade game.
- 11:06SPEAKER_11: They had uh what's his face from Skies of Arcadia in the game?
- 11:09SPEAKER_08: They had Axel Stone from Streets of Rage, uh, stuff like that.
- 11:13SPEAKER_11: Some characters from Fantasy Star.
- 11:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_11: It looked amazing, but uh Yeah, quite a lot.
- 11:18SPEAKER_08: Um, and also it was uh stylized, it was like ta having another Tatsunoko versus Capcom.
- 11:24SPEAKER_08: It was a sort of similar build of game.
- 11:27SPEAKER_11: But there is one glaring issue with it.
- 11:29SPEAKER_11: Uh it did have Sonic in it.
- 11:32SPEAKER_08: I mean he looked he actually looked really tight to play though, to be honest, in this.
- 11:36SPEAKER_08: I mean, that's I mean I I I didn't really enjoy him that much in Smash, but he looked quite tight in that.
- 11:41SPEAKER_08: I could have I could have fly, I could have pocket Sonic, I think.
- 11:45SPEAKER_08: But I was the annoying thing is I was so close to having my Ryu and Soaky team back from Tatsunoko, man, and it was torn away at the last minute.
- 11:53SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's a shame.
- 11:54SPEAKER_11: I think we need to normalise um big game companies uh buying the ideas of the person.
- 12:01SPEAKER_08: I I think so, yeah.
- 12:02SPEAKER_11: And buying the work instead of just shutting them down because that game looked really good.
- 12:05SPEAKER_11: I think Sega could do with a good fighting game.
- 12:07SPEAKER_08: Do you do you think uh Calcom did the cease and desist because they're like, Whoa, this game's belling like anything we've ever made.
- 12:14SPEAKER_09: Well, not ever, but you know, it was like I'm not I can't think of one good Sega game, to be honest with you.
- 12:20SPEAKER_09: Like what I can't even think of one.
- 12:22SPEAKER_08: That's me.
- 12:23SPEAKER_08: There's hundreds hundreds of Shenmu.
- 12:27SPEAKER_08: Sonic.
- 12:28SPEAKER_08: Sonic.
- 12:29SPEAKER_11: No.
- 12:29SPEAKER_11: Um Wolverine releases and it's comically bad.
- 12:33SPEAKER_11: Crazy Taxi.
- 12:34SPEAKER_11: Alright, fair enough.
- 12:35SPEAKER_11: Right, uh, so the Wolverine game has released, and the reason this is news is because we we haven't played it, obviously, because you'd be an idiot to play it.
- 12:43SPEAKER_11: But um You'd need a PS5 as well.
- 12:45SPEAKER_08: That too also ties into the first thing you said.
- 12:48SPEAKER_11: What was the first thing I said?
- 12:49SPEAKER_08: Uh you'd be an idiot to play it.
- 12:51SPEAKER_11: Facts.
- 12:51SPEAKER_11: Right, um, but it's come out and obviously loads of clips of do it in the rounds.
- 12:56SPEAKER_11: Uh, the game basically plays itself, um there's a fart line that tells you where to go in the game, and uh also the cutscenes, the uh quick time events, uh you don't need to succeed at them to succeed at them.
- 13:09SPEAKER_11: You can press anything and it still works.
- 13:11SPEAKER_08: Well, I saw someone doing the there's a bike bit um similar to like Crash 3, uh, but uh you don't even need to press anything, you can just like you don't yeah, you could just let the bike bang into the walls and then it you'll still do it.
- 13:26SPEAKER_08: You'll be fine.
- 13:27SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, and what I what I like is the current trend of people sharing segments like similar segments from games that came out 20 years ago that did it better than Wolverine.
- 13:35SPEAKER_11: I think that's pretty funny.
- 13:36SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:37SPEAKER_08: I saw one with uh Lego Star Wars where uh on the PS2 looking better than I think it was Lego Marvel.
- 13:45SPEAKER_08: There's one oh yeah, it might have been.
- 13:47SPEAKER_11: And then um also like the Crash Team Racing, like and and all of this stuff.
- 13:50SPEAKER_11: But yeah, it's very, very funny.
- 13:52SPEAKER_11: Now, interestingly, there's a guy at uni who who bought it.
- 13:56SPEAKER_11: I don't I don't know what he was thinking, but um he he bought it, and then like he's one of those guys that's like um It likes playing through Tat.
- 14:04SPEAKER_11: Yeah, well, clearly, but um he's one of those guys that gets personally offended if you diss a game he likes.
- 14:10SPEAKER_11: And I I messaged him because I saw all this stuff coming out about the Wolverine game, and obviously I listened to a lot of podcasts as well, and they were saying how comically bad it is, and that they didn't have a single minute of fun throughout the entire thing.
- 14:23SPEAKER_11: And then I saw my mate uh say his name's Bosch, right?
- 14:28SPEAKER_11: Bosch was playing it, and I I I messaged him and was like, So you're playing Wolverine, like how is that?
- 14:34SPEAKER_11: And he's like, Honestly, one of the best stories I've ever seen in the game, and the gameplay is even better.
- 14:40SPEAKER_11: Does he play games?
- 14:43SPEAKER_12: Well, I was just like, like, uh have you got some sort of brain disease or something?
- 14:47SPEAKER_08: Because it's sounds weird, he must have cut like just literally turned his brain off and just I don't know, man, maybe.
- 14:54SPEAKER_11: And then I saw him at uni, and he he was just and I was just like, Why are you playing that game with the fart line and the shitty motorbike?
- 15:00SPEAKER_11: And he was just like, Right, so you're just having a go at me, are you?
- 15:03SPEAKER_11: Like, actually said that.
- 15:04SPEAKER_11: Um, I've got a story about that later.
- 15:06SPEAKER_08: So did he work on the game or did his uncle work on it?
- 15:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah, he's one of those, like his uncle works for Sony, so yeah, um, but yeah, he is if you haven't seen footage of that game, just look up some like shorts on Instagram or something, and you will you will definitely have a good laugh.
- 15:21SPEAKER_11: One of my favourites you see the one where there's a bit where Wolverine is supposed to jump from the bike over to this um uh rampaging truck, and then there's a point where he jumps over and then he just floats in mid-air next to the truck for ages.
- 15:35SPEAKER_08: It's one of the most shared ones I think.
- 15:36SPEAKER_08: So good.
- 15:37SPEAKER_08: Um also there was a comparison between like Wolverine's movement in this game and then the X-Men's origin Wolverine game from like a very long time ago, and it looked it looked way better.
- 15:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:50SPEAKER_11: Yeah, because from all by all accounts, that was an all-right game.
- 15:52SPEAKER_11: The this Wolverine game is like licensed games used to be, isn't it?
- 15:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 15:56SPEAKER_11: Sort of like it's that bad.
- 15:57SPEAKER_11: Um but yeah, I will come back to Wolverine a bit later, because there is a bit more of a story on that.
- 16:02SPEAKER_11: But the next story is Low Tier God finally acknowledges that his daughter exists.
- 16:07SPEAKER_11: So last episode we covered the fighting game moron, Low Tier God, and his court case where he got a restraining order against the mother of his child.
- 16:15SPEAKER_11: The twist, he pretended for years that he had no daughter.
- 16:19SPEAKER_11: The public court case, however, made this very difficult to deny any longer because he frequently referred to his baby mama as the mother of my child.
- 16:26SPEAKER_11: Now, while he did initially try to deny that the court case ever happened, claiming it was AI, he has now finally admitted that yes, it was real and that yes, his daughter is real.
- 16:36SPEAKER_11: Now, for some context, I'm gonna play a clip from two years ago of him talking about the concept of having a daughter.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: Please, the creator, please.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Please, may you grant me nothing but boy sperm in my testocular.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: I know, look, imagine being a man, right, and your first kid is a girl.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Bro, that shit is a c would have to be a crippling feeling.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't even look forward to parenthood.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Can I have fun as a parent too?
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: Or does everything gotta be dexterity?
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: I should be able to have some fun as a parent too, right?
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Shouldn't I be able to enjoy parenthood?
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: How would I enjoy parenthood with all daughters?
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: That would not be fun.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: I gotta come home to girls.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm going, I'm coming home.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: Lock the door, start doing my shit, and knocking on the door and shit.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I put on like a snoring shit on Alexa.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: I'm like, Alexa, snore.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: That shit like I'm putting a towel under the door so they can't see the fucking TV light up.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Fuck out of here.
- 17:41SPEAKER_11: Yeah, so that's him just talking about the concept of having a daughter, right?
- 17:45SPEAKER_11: He's going in a room now uh and he's locking himself away.
- 17:48SPEAKER_08: Well, it sort of shows his sort of view of women in general, really.
- 17:52SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and and uh and his daughter.
- 17:55SPEAKER_11: So now one of the things that baffled me as well is I'm still trying to figure out what a testocula is, but uh probably some sort of weird genital-based binocular, maybe.
- 18:04SPEAKER_08: I don't know, maybe you should like go get himself checked, I guess.
- 18:07SPEAKER_11: If you've got testoculars, go and see a dadocula.
- 18:10SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 18:11SPEAKER_11: So but uh anyway, that's the idea.
- 18:13SPEAKER_11: That's just how he speaks about just the idea of having a daughter, like he would just ignore them, right?
- 18:18SPEAKER_11: But as I mentioned, he talked about his very real daughter that he never sees and finally admitted that she exists.
- 18:23SPEAKER_11: This was on a recent stream, but there's a catch.
- 18:26SPEAKER_11: Because of this the restraining order of his baby mama, he actually isn't allowed to see his daughter now, right?
- 18:32SPEAKER_11: So suddenly he's pivoted.
- 18:34SPEAKER_11: Recounting a story on his live stream recently, where he uh saw um his daughter and her mum in a Walmart, and uh in this tale he claimed to have seen them and yearned in his heart to be a good dad and buy his daughter all manner of quote, shoes and Nikes and shit, man, but lamenting the fact that legally he's unable to do so.
- 18:55SPEAKER_11: Now I think it's awfully convenient that two years ago he was talking about his daughter like that, right?
- 19:00SPEAKER_08: Well now it's some sort of conquest for him, like he has to like he's like, Oh man, I really want to be a good dad, but I can't legally, oh never mind, I want to buy her all types of Nikes and shit, man.
- 19:10SPEAKER_08: Yeah, like some somehow he has to be better that like because he's like there's something like he's missing one daughter, so you know, like Yeah.
- 19:18SPEAKER_10: Do back away from your mic ever so slightly there, mate.
- 19:20SPEAKER_08: Like it's his property, you know, he can't have access to his property.
- 19:24SPEAKER_11: Yeah, maybe he actually does sort of feel that way now he he's not allowed.
- 19:28SPEAKER_11: Yeah, like that's the childish mentality.
- 19:31SPEAKER_11: Yeah, his cool rebellious spirit, maybe, is a nice way to put it.
- 19:35SPEAKER_11: Um but yes, so he's got the instinct now to do the right thing and see his daughter.
- 19:39SPEAKER_08: Um, he's doing the right thing.
- 19:41SPEAKER_11: When is he No, no, he wants to.
- 19:43SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 19:43SPEAKER_11: He wants to really bad.
- 19:44SPEAKER_11: I mean, I believe him.
- 19:46SPEAKER_11: He's a trustworthy man.
- 19:46SPEAKER_11: He's never a man trustworthy paedophile.
- 19:50SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah, there's that too.
- 19:51SPEAKER_11: I mean, he shouldn't be allowed near anyone, to be honest, any human being.
- 19:54SPEAKER_08: That's true, yeah.
- 19:55SPEAKER_08: Alleged paedophile, yeah.
- 19:57SPEAKER_08: No, not alleged.
- 19:58SPEAKER_11: Or is it's true.
- 19:59SPEAKER_11: It's true, it's an admitted fact.
- 20:01SPEAKER_11: He had sex with the the the baby mum when she was underage.
- 20:04SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 20:05SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 20:05SPEAKER_11: Like that's a known thing.
- 20:06SPEAKER_11: It's not it's not alleged.
- 20:08SPEAKER_11: But um, just for for legal reasons, uh, that is alleged.
- 20:12SPEAKER_11: And that last bit was a joke.
- 20:14SPEAKER_11: Netflix partnering with Sega to make a film about a mental car.
- 20:18SPEAKER_11: So Netflix has just announced a new partnership with Sega to make a quote, cute yet cool Sonic TV show.
- 20:25SPEAKER_08: You have no, I was a bit disappointed by that.
- 20:27SPEAKER_11: But I think I think uh you said How can you be disappointed by something you know is going to be shit?
- 20:32SPEAKER_08: Well, I think it like do you think it will be shit?
- 20:34SPEAKER_11: It's um sorry, uh did you it I said the words Sonic TV show.
- 20:39SPEAKER_11: Sonic and Netflix is not great start, but so two bad things merging to make something even worse.
- 20:43SPEAKER_08: It's not like it's not about Sonic's like really cool man.
- 20:49SPEAKER_08: No, um, but um yeah.
- 20:52SPEAKER_08: I mean, it is for like older toddlers in it or something though.
- 20:56SPEAKER_08: Like um so I've I've I think your your son will like it.
- 21:01SPEAKER_11: Uh yeah Jesse is never watching anything.
- 21:04SPEAKER_11: He as far as he is concerned, Sonic does not exist.
- 21:08SPEAKER_11: I've been I've fuck he has, yeah.
- 21:09SPEAKER_11: He watched Sonic X on Netflix.
- 21:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah that's actually alright though.
- 21:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's been banger.
- 21:14SPEAKER_11: Anyway, yes, they went Netflix are making a cute yet cool Sonic TV show.
- 21:17SPEAKER_11: They're making an adaptation of the Ryuga Gotoku game Stranger Than Heaven, and perhaps most surprisingly of all yeah, obviously interrupt midway through the colour.
- 21:26SPEAKER_11: So no, that's a cool one.
- 21:27SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's cool, yeah.
- 21:29SPEAKER_11: Right, and perhaps most surprisingly of all, a crazy taxi film, which is the first one out of the three being made.
- 21:36SPEAKER_11: So we're getting a crazy taxi film.
- 21:37SPEAKER_11: Now I wouldn't mind that, to be honest.
- 21:39SPEAKER_08: That'll be good.
- 21:39SPEAKER_11: Netflix has said that the crazy taxi film will be, quote, hilariously crazy and will be written by the two lads responsible for the recent Naked Gun remake.
- 21:48SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 21:49SPEAKER_11: Now you're the world's foremost crazy taxi expert.
- 21:52SPEAKER_11: Yeah, definitely.
- 21:53SPEAKER_11: What's the story of the games, please?
- 21:56SPEAKER_08: Um as far as uh as far as I know, like it's There is you know, there isn't one really.
- 22:02SPEAKER_11: The story is somebody comes up and says, Take me to KFC, you take them to KFC.
- 22:06SPEAKER_11: It's a five-minute film.
- 22:07SPEAKER_08: I think that the people that drive those taxis like are crazy, and there are normal taxis in the world, but they're the only ones that are driving in a mental way, it seems.
- 22:18SPEAKER_08: That's the only sort of story I can sort of.
- 22:20SPEAKER_11: So it's gonna be like Guts.
- 22:21SPEAKER_11: He's working at a crazy taxi agency.
- 22:24SPEAKER_11: Hey hey, crazy taxi.
- 22:26SPEAKER_11: Um somebody somebody gets a cab with him, it goes mental, he goes in, he gets in a lawsuit because his passenger's injured.
- 22:32SPEAKER_11: It's a courtroom doc uh uh drama.
- 22:35SPEAKER_08: I mean, I wouldn't mind that, but also uh like a sort of a middle that'd be like number two, but number one should be like where like they're doing some crazy taxi shite, and then I know there's a there's a bomb in the Netflix.
- 22:48SPEAKER_08: I hope you're listening.
- 22:50SPEAKER_08: There's a bomb in the I d I don't know.
- 22:51SPEAKER_11: I can't really There's a bomb in the KFC.
- 22:53SPEAKER_11: We better drive there really quick and go and de undetonate it.
- 22:56SPEAKER_11: I can't really think of a story, but if like I mean No, do you know what I got the idea that you couldn't think of a story when when you said they'll be bombing about doing crazy taxi shite.
- 23:04SPEAKER_08: No, but if there was a bomb in the car and that, like I don't know.
- 23:07SPEAKER_08: But um Right, okay.
- 23:09SPEAKER_08: Like who would you get to like be in the film though?
- 23:11SPEAKER_08: I mean I I don't know or care.
- 23:13SPEAKER_08: I reckon it should be like a sort of have that sort of sort of dude where's my car sort of spin to it.
- 23:20SPEAKER_11: I suppose.
- 23:21SPEAKER_11: I just don't think there's any universe where a crazy taxi film will be good.
- 23:25SPEAKER_11: Crazy taxi.
- 23:27SPEAKER_11: It's a good game.
- 23:28SPEAKER_11: It's a great game, but it's like it's just a very, very odd concept for a film.
- 23:32SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:32SPEAKER_11: I I want something like the 80s or whatever it was in Mario Brothers movie.
- 23:36SPEAKER_11: Is it?
- 23:37SPEAKER_11: Where the people where the people making it are just uh allowed to insert whatever the fuck story they want into the game, um into the film, and they just make it really mental.
- 23:46SPEAKER_11: That'd be good.
- 23:46SPEAKER_11: Like there's some really convoluted, stupid reason that crazy taxis have to exist in the same world as regular ones.
- 23:53SPEAKER_11: Like they're like, I don't know, on the fringes of society, like they're the real heroes of society.
- 23:59SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you can get a regular taxi or you can get a crazy one.
- 24:02SPEAKER_08: Uh also, like if we get Danny DeVito's Gus, that'd be pretty good.
- 24:08SPEAKER_08: Okay, fine.
- 24:08SPEAKER_11: Danny DeVito in any film is good, though.
- 24:10SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's true.
- 24:11SPEAKER_11: I want Danny DeVito in in literally everything as the main character.
- 24:14SPEAKER_11: Like just being himself.
- 24:16SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 24:16SPEAKER_11: Danny DeVito in Home Alone as Kevin McAllister.
- 24:19SPEAKER_08: I mean, no, that would pr that would go pretty hard to beat.
- 24:22SPEAKER_11: Danny DeVito in Crazy Taxi, playing a taxi.
- 24:25SPEAKER_11: It's just him painted yellow and people are on his back.
- 24:29unknown: Motherfucker!
- 24:30SPEAKER_11: Is that that's Danny DeVito, is it?
- 24:32SPEAKER_11: Well, I can't really do his voice.
- 24:34SPEAKER_11: Boom, boom, motherfucker.
- 24:36SPEAKER_11: Um, anyway, uh, black Danny DeVito aside, uh, there was the Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Nintendo Direct.
- 24:44SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 24:44SPEAKER_11: Now, I it is your job.
- 24:46SPEAKER_11: Would you would you say, Sean, it is your job to keep up to date with the news?
- 24:50SPEAKER_08: I mean it is, but Exactly.
- 24:51SPEAKER_11: So you watched this, didn't you?
- 24:52SPEAKER_11: Well, I only watched it.
- 24:53SPEAKER_11: When you watched this, one of the biggest directs ever.
- 24:55SPEAKER_11: Do you watch it, didn't you?
- 24:56SPEAKER_08: Ever?
- 24:57SPEAKER_11: Well, well, no, I mean I just put well, put it this way, I'll put it in the plan, so you've got to watch it, right?
- 25:02SPEAKER_11: No, but I mean Interesting.
- 25:03SPEAKER_11: Right, so what I'll do what we do what we'll do, because you've obviously watched it, I'm gonna I'm gonna reel off every announcement.
- 25:09SPEAKER_11: One of these is gonna be fake, and uh and you have to predict which one it is because I know you haven't fucking watched it, because you're a lazy piece of work.
- 25:17SPEAKER_08: Well, I mean, in my in my defence, in my defence, I haven't really had like I literally ran home from work and then like I didn't know.
- 25:26SPEAKER_08: I haven't had like literally since you've done the plan, I've been working.
- 25:29SPEAKER_08: So have I, I've been busy.
- 25:30SPEAKER_11: I've done you know.
- 25:34SPEAKER_11: Um right, so first of all, we got a look at the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake gameplay.
- 25:40SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 25:40SPEAKER_11: Now this looked really good, right?
- 25:42SPEAKER_11: And I will say the style, now everyone has been clued in on it, is that it's based on uh classic Japanese puppet shows, and people are like, Oh, I like that, it's a cool direction.
- 25:52SPEAKER_11: Um, just so that you know, ladies and gentlemen, the original Ocarina of it's always been based on that.
- 25:57SPEAKER_11: Um, as can be you can see in the image that people are sharing of those classic puppet shows, it still looks like Zelda.
- 26:04SPEAKER_11: This is more like if the people making the Ocarina of Time for the N64 had had the you know the ability to do so, they would have made it look like this Switch 2 version.
- 26:14SPEAKER_08: Okay, yeah, so it's been a bit over over praised then.
- 26:17SPEAKER_11: A l a little bit because it's always had that style.
- 26:20SPEAKER_11: Like the Happy Mask salesman is like he's exactly that, like he's supposed to look like one of those puppets.
- 26:24SPEAKER_08: And always felt like when you go into a store, you're shopping the game, innit?
- 26:29SPEAKER_11: Yeah, well exactly.
- 26:30SPEAKER_11: It's not it's not a new thing for the series, it's just now they actually look like the thing they were supposed to look like.
- 26:35SPEAKER_11: Do you know what I mean?
- 26:36SPEAKER_11: So I think it's I think the art direction is absolutely fine, it's a bit less colourful, but I think the game is going to be a shop-for-shot remake, um, except with camera controls and jumping.
- 26:46SPEAKER_11: That's it.
- 26:48SPEAKER_11: So it's a bit of a shame because it did there are things in that game that need fixing, the emptiness.
- 26:53SPEAKER_11: I don't think the characters get as much depth as they do in nearly any other Zelda game.
- 26:57SPEAKER_11: But uh No, that's true.
- 26:59SPEAKER_08: I suppose it's nice to have it on a switch.
- 27:02SPEAKER_11: I mean, I switched to I don't have access to a switch to to be honest, but yeah, but I I I mean it I th I think it I think it looks good, and I think that if you just want the same thing again, it's it's probably gonna be alright.
- 27:13SPEAKER_11: Um The only thing is what I would like to do, I don't want to change anything in the game, but maybe flesh out some of the characters like that you can interact with in the world, like have them do shit, have new dialogue that that expands on them a bit.
- 27:26SPEAKER_11: Something like that.
- 27:27SPEAKER_11: Then you don't change the main game.
- 27:28SPEAKER_11: Well, while having the Master Quest stuff in there as well.
- 27:32SPEAKER_11: That's uh a lot of people have said that that it should ship with that.
- 27:35SPEAKER_11: I I agree.
- 27:36SPEAKER_11: It'll be a DLC, it'll be DLC.
- 27:38SPEAKER_11: Um you are right, aren't you?
- 27:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:41SPEAKER_11: In addition to that, uh they announced uh a special Ocarina that they've released that um you can actually play into your Switch 2 to get it to do things as a special controller, which is a bit weird.
- 27:52SPEAKER_11: Um and they showed it off by having some Nintendo executive whose name I forget um playing it uh while playing Ocarina of Time.
- 27:59SPEAKER_11: And so he's playing it and he's doing inputs into the Switch using the Ocarina.
- 28:03SPEAKER_08: I'm guessing that that was a pre-made video, and then like he's just making it look better than it actually is, I reckon.
- 28:09SPEAKER_11: Probably, but basically you're playing Legend Legends of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake, and you get to a point where you need to input one of the Ocarina things.
- 28:16SPEAKER_11: You have to put the controller down, pick your Ocarina up, play that, put it back down, pick the controller up.
- 28:21SPEAKER_08: I imagine it'll be like really good because you know people make music out of the uh Ocarina bits.
- 28:27SPEAKER_11: I suppose, and now you've got an actual instrument that you can actually play.
- 28:30SPEAKER_11: But I bet you it's dog shit quality and tuned really badly.
- 28:34SPEAKER_11: That's just uh anyway, uh they've also announced a Zelda swit uh themed switch too.
- 28:38SPEAKER_11: You hype for that?
- 28:38SPEAKER_11: Um it's got gold uh paint on it.
- 28:43SPEAKER_08: Oh gold paint, like fully gold.
- 28:46SPEAKER_11: No, just to put sort of gold paint design on it.
- 28:50SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 28:50SPEAKER_08: A little bit of like gilding on the Yeah, a little bit like a gilded switch.
- 28:54SPEAKER_11: You buying one of those?
- 28:55SPEAKER_11: Nah.
- 28:56SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 28:57SPEAKER_11: Uh a Zelda notes app for your phone.
- 29:00SPEAKER_11: Zelda This is the fake one because it's just an app where you can take notes about Zelda, Zelda themed.
- 29:07SPEAKER_11: I could do that anyway though.
- 29:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but there's a Zelda on it.
- 29:10SPEAKER_11: This is a gilded app.
- 29:12SPEAKER_08: It's the world's first gilded app.
- 29:13SPEAKER_08: Alright, cheers, Nintendo.
- 29:15SPEAKER_11: A bunch of other Zelda tat, including a um big sword.
- 29:20SPEAKER_11: A big sword.
- 29:22SPEAKER_11: If you thought it was gonna be a little one, you're mistaken.
- 29:25SPEAKER_08: That's good though, that's small value.
- 29:27SPEAKER_11: And then of course at the end of the uh the whole direct.
- 29:30SPEAKER_08: Um wait a minute, what?
- 29:31SPEAKER_08: So, like this sword, right?
- 29:33SPEAKER_08: Is this just like an individual item?
- 29:35SPEAKER_08: You just go and buy a like just like plastic swords.
- 29:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah, they announced a plastic sword.
- 29:38SPEAKER_11: They announced a plastic sword, yes.
- 29:41SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 29:42SPEAKER_11: And then at the end, right, we thought that everyone well, everyone thought you really hyped this up, man.
- 29:46SPEAKER_11: This sounds like No, it's rubbish.
- 29:48SPEAKER_11: It was rubbish.
- 29:48SPEAKER_11: It was really rubbish.
- 29:50SPEAKER_11: But at the end of it, right, um, like everyone thought the Ocarina of Time was gonna be like the big reveal at the end, but they showed that at the beginning, and right at the end, everything goes black, and you hear the um farm music from Ocarina of Time, and it comes up, they're releasing a new game, Sean, Legend of Zelda.
- 30:08SPEAKER_11: I don't know how to pronounce it, is it cuckoo?
- 30:10SPEAKER_11: Is that what the chickens are called?
- 30:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I think so.
- 30:12SPEAKER_11: So it's Legend of Zelda Cuckoo Company, right?
- 30:15SPEAKER_11: And it's basically like a farm game where it's an alternative universe where in Ocarina of Time um is one where Ganon wins, and so Link and Zelda are trying to rebuild the nation by sending out packages on the back of cuckoos, and you it's like a sim management game.
- 30:31SPEAKER_08: Okay, that's gonna be like terrible, but uh and uh that that was more or less it.
- 30:37SPEAKER_11: That was the big reveal.
- 30:38SPEAKER_11: That that cuckoo company was then big new Switch 2 game, which all reuses all the assets for Occarina of Time, of course.
- 30:46SPEAKER_11: So that was easy.
- 30:47SPEAKER_08: I think like we've gone too far as a society to Right.
- 30:50SPEAKER_11: Now that was the end of it.
- 30:52SPEAKER_11: Everyone was expecting big things, and I guess those two reveals are the big things.
- 30:56SPEAKER_11: But which one was the fake one, Sean?
- 30:58SPEAKER_11: Neither of them.
- 30:59SPEAKER_11: No, no, which one out of all of the things that were announced?
- 31:01SPEAKER_11: So we got Ocarina of Time.
- 31:04SPEAKER_11: No, that was real.
- 31:05SPEAKER_11: We got the notes app, we got the theme switch to the Ocarina that you can play into your switch.
- 31:09SPEAKER_11: Uh uh Ocarina.
- 31:10SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah, theme switch too, yeah.
- 31:13SPEAKER_11: You think that was the fake one?
- 31:15SPEAKER_11: Just I'll be honest with you, it was Legend of Zelda Cuckoo Company.
- 31:20SPEAKER_08: Sounds really good because it sounds like that.
- 31:22SPEAKER_11: It sounds like the sort of thing they would release.
- 31:24SPEAKER_08: I thought it was some like modern Nintendo games, isn't it?
- 31:28SPEAKER_11: Yeah, like where they they've got the big ones that they know we're gonna pull money in, and then they've got the little shit ones that they don't put much effort in that Nintendo stands by.
- 31:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:35SPEAKER_11: And I thought Cuckoo Company really fit that bill.
- 31:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's good.
- 31:39SPEAKER_11: Um but that was it, yeah, it was kind of disappointing because it I to be honest with you, like uh the Ocar in your time gameplay was was interesting, but I watched it for about a minute, then switched it off because I'm just gonna play the game.
- 31:48SPEAKER_11: I don't need to see what's gonna be a good one.
- 31:50SPEAKER_11: Yeah, exactly.
- 31:50SPEAKER_11: Um was it built as a Legends of Zelda direct?
- 31:54SPEAKER_11: Oh, yes, but I'll tell you what, the funniest thing was, right, was that in the trailer um you see it still has loading screens between zones?
- 32:02SPEAKER_11: So you'll exit one second and then there's a voice that comes on it.
- 32:05SPEAKER_11: It's like we kept the loading screens in the game to preserve the authenticity of the original or something like this.
- 32:10SPEAKER_11: And it's like that's bollocks.
- 32:13SPEAKER_11: That's absolute nonsense, and not only that, but it's like, well, if you wanted to preserve the original, you would have kept the fixed camera angles in, and you would have we wouldn't have put a jump button in it, and like fog of war and that.
- 32:24SPEAKER_11: So, yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 32:25SPEAKER_11: Like really shit draw.
- 32:27SPEAKER_11: We kept we kept the draw distance at one meter because we wanted to preserve, yeah.
- 32:31SPEAKER_11: Fuck it, it was so funny, man.
- 32:33SPEAKER_11: Um, right, shall we get on to what we've been playing?
- 32:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah, what's your game?
- 32:44SPEAKER_10: So, Sean, you went to see the Resident Evil twenty twenty-six movie.
- 33:15SPEAKER_08: I was really surprised by this, so it's actually really good.
- 33:18SPEAKER_08: Um it was like a quite a simple film, but it did have that Resident Evil feel.
- 33:23SPEAKER_08: You had some of the monsters from it.
- 33:25SPEAKER_08: It felt like sorry, um it felt like sorry, a T virus.
- 33:30SPEAKER_08: Um it felt Brilliant, it's good.
- 33:32SPEAKER_08: It's a joke, it's a funny joke.
- 33:33SPEAKER_08: It felt like they were laying the groundwork down for you know, another universe.
- 33:38SPEAKER_08: I was pleasantly surprised because I expected to like whittle my time away at work, but you know, I actually ended up enjoying it a lot.
- 33:46SPEAKER_11: Sean has to take his clients to go and see films sometimes, yeah, yeah.
- 33:49SPEAKER_08: And uh usually they're they're of poor quality, but I don't mind.
- 33:53SPEAKER_08: Um but um yeah, I was actually, you know, well, I was leaning forward quite a lot, I'd I'd say.
- 33:58SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's definitely an eight out of ten.
- 34:00SPEAKER_11: But the well, that's really good.
- 34:02SPEAKER_11: And the guy that directed it, he said that it it's it's like the reason there are some differences because it's set in the modern day, it's not set in the 90s like the old Resident Evil's are.
- 34:12SPEAKER_11: No, yeah, and so it's sort of like he took some liberties, but people have been talking to him, and he's clearly a huge fan of the games, and he did them justice.
- 34:20SPEAKER_08: It seems like it, it seems like it, and they didn't go like too heavy on the references, it was like it felt like a Resident Evil film, they had all like the hallmarks of it.
- 34:29SPEAKER_08: Um, there's a couple of nice nods, like the sort of over-the-shoulder um and like to the side sort of camera view, like the odd time here and there, but it wasn't like trying to it just like told her like a good story and it was in the same universe, yeah, yeah, and it was like in a really good way.
- 34:46SPEAKER_11: Um, yeah, like see, doesn't that that but then uh some people have been complaining that it's not completely accurate to the games and it should have been set in the 90s and that there are some things that are different, but the guy took, I think, as a fan, completely fair liberties, right?
- 35:01SPEAKER_11: That's what it sounds like.
- 35:02SPEAKER_11: And that it's that he just made a good film without it being pandering and stupid.
- 35:06SPEAKER_08: I think so.
- 35:07SPEAKER_08: And it also gives it scope for more in the in the same universe as well.
- 35:12SPEAKER_11: Well, the unfortunate thing is that he has said because of fans being fucking dicks about it, he's never making another licensed movie, so the next one won't be directed by him.
- 35:19SPEAKER_08: It's literally the best Resident Evil film we've ever had.
- 35:22SPEAKER_11: So I've seen people come up to him and say and to like try and to I guess in a certain way try and catch him out, right, and say, What's your favourite boss from Resident Evil's?
- 35:30SPEAKER_11: And he he he will give detailed answers.
- 35:32SPEAKER_11: Oh, well, I kind of like this one, but I like this one.
- 35:34SPEAKER_11: And like I thought this one was a good because of the plot, and and like he he clearly like likes the games.
- 35:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:41SPEAKER_08: And he like there's some very creative scenes and problem solving in it.
- 35:45SPEAKER_11: And um does anybody at any point eat a plant they find on the floor to get health back?
- 35:50SPEAKER_08: No, I was waiting for one out of ten.
- 35:52SPEAKER_08: I was actually waiting for it, and I was uh sort of whispering to the guys with like um I was like um like when he went into a glove box, I w I whispered, I was like, green up.
- 36:02SPEAKER_11: What and you thought about what does he get out?
- 36:04SPEAKER_08: Um shotgun shells, sadly.
- 36:07SPEAKER_11: Okay, never mind.
- 36:09SPEAKER_11: Uh one out of ten.
- 36:10SPEAKER_11: Alright, um that's it for Resident Evil movie.
- 36:13SPEAKER_11: Use I've got here, you've got Guilty Gear Strive and Fight K.
- 36:16SPEAKER_11: Do we really need to speak about those?
- 36:17SPEAKER_08: Uh yeah, yeah.
- 36:18SPEAKER_08: I mean, um I'll just I'll just say with uh Guild Gear Strive, uh the new Blaze and Pass is actually very good.
- 36:25SPEAKER_08: Uh they got some like nice costumes in there, like uh they've actually done a good job.
- 36:30SPEAKER_08: The presentation is good.
- 36:31SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 36:32SPEAKER_08: Uh so yeah, just uh cock guild gear still going strong, you know.
- 36:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I mean it is a very good game.
- 36:38SPEAKER_11: Um, and we'll so let's move on to Big Walk.
- 36:42SPEAKER_11: We've both been playing this.
- 36:53unknown: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:54SPEAKER_08: Mate, what a game.
- 36:56SPEAKER_08: Well, yeah, this is uh this is a great experience to be honest.
- 37:00SPEAKER_11: So yeah, we'll give our thoughts now, and we're gonna do maybe we might do, I'm not sure if we'll actually do it, but we might do a spoiler chat uh after the outro of the podcast, right?
- 37:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:09SPEAKER_11: Um but Big Walk for those that have been living under a rock is a uh is a puzzle game where you explore an island and solve puzzles.
- 37:17SPEAKER_11: Um but the thing is a lot of things can be a spoiler in this because we went in not knowing anything and uh discovered, say, for example, the towers ourselves.
- 37:26SPEAKER_11: We discovered every objective without ever looking anything up and just uh just exploring, right?
- 37:31SPEAKER_08: Yeah, so I guess we could like summarise it and say um it's a really fun cult game.
- 37:37SPEAKER_08: Uh there's a lot of puzzles dotted around, and um uh you know it's it's basically an open world puzzle game set in an island.
- 37:46SPEAKER_11: And and I think like a lot of the puzzles basically revolve around, so we played it just me and you, but the game will alter itself to change the puzzles, uh it depending on how many people you have, but you have to go around collecting these things that you get from puzzles, and I won't say what you have to do with them or anything like this, but like a lot of the puzzles are really, really well designed.
- 38:07SPEAKER_11: I I enjoyed almost all of them, with the exception of say two of them, right?
- 38:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:12SPEAKER_11: Um, and like often it'll be that you have to communicate things in creative ways, like one of the uh sort of um early puzzles in the game is that there's a there's a mountain with a some binoculars on it, and some symbols you have to put in a row, right?
- 38:31SPEAKER_11: And the other player has to go to uh a mountain opposite um where he can see what symbols the other guy has to put in.
- 38:39SPEAKER_11: So the person with the binoculars has to try and keep an eye on the other guy on the other mountain while he's uh signalling to the first player which symbols to put in.
- 38:48SPEAKER_11: Um and there's a lot of puzzles like that where your communication is made difficult, or um the things that you're having to like, for example, there was one that was to do with sound, so Sean would hear certain sounds and then he had to communicate them to me.
- 39:04SPEAKER_11: So you you would get onto this little microphone in the game and go, and then I had to input it somewhere.
- 39:10SPEAKER_11: But yeah, we won't we won't go too much on about the puzzles, but needless to say, we finished here.
- 39:16SPEAKER_11: And I think first of all, the puzzles were incredibly fun, but I think that the big thing that that I loved about it was the atmosphere.
- 39:24SPEAKER_08: Uh yeah, the atmosphere was really good.
- 39:26SPEAKER_11: Uh great great sound design.
- 39:28SPEAKER_08: Uh the graphics are like really, really good.
- 39:31SPEAKER_08: They're pretty stunning actually for what it is.
- 39:33SPEAKER_08: Yeah, quite a simple game.
- 39:34SPEAKER_08: The character designs are very simple, but but that's because the graphics are so good.
- 39:39SPEAKER_08: And uh unlike Ocarina of Time, everything's loaded in already, so you know.
- 39:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and but the lighting effects and the sounds and everything are just absolutely brilliant.
- 39:48SPEAKER_11: And to be honest, uh a lot of people are going around saying that it's friendsop, and it it isn't.
- 39:52SPEAKER_08: No, it's a puzzle game.
- 39:54SPEAKER_11: It's an open world puzzle game.
- 39:56SPEAKER_08: I expected that, but I came by away with something much more profound than that, I think, to be honest.
- 40:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah, truly.
- 40:02SPEAKER_11: And and we'll we'll get to that at the at the end during the spoiler chat.
- 40:06SPEAKER_11: But if this sounds like your cup of tea, and even if it doesn't, for like really do play it is excellent.
- 40:12SPEAKER_11: But we're it's not really my I wouldn't play these type of games, but I'm still doing that to the table, and yes, no, no, neither would I, to be honest.
- 40:20SPEAKER_11: But I just heard good things about it on other podcasts and then decided to give it a go.
- 40:24SPEAKER_11: And I was so, so glad that we did, because it was it it remains like probably the best game I played this year, to be honest with you.
- 40:32SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, me too.
- 40:33SPEAKER_11: But we'll get heavy into spoilers in the spoiler chat at the end, so stick around if you if you want to hear that, if you've completed the game too.
- 40:40SPEAKER_11: Um, right, let's go into my games.
- 40:43SPEAKER_11: Um I played Body Cam.
- 40:54SPEAKER_11: You played.
- 40:57SPEAKER_11: Right, so everyone's been seeing I've had this wish listed for a while.
- 41:00SPEAKER_11: It's a very, very realistic military shooter that is basically all done diecally through a body cam uh worn on each player, right?
- 41:15SPEAKER_11: And um it is absolutely brilliant, it's really good.
- 41:20SPEAKER_11: Um thing is, so you have your gun, and the way that you aim is more realistic, so you can bring it up to bring the sight in front of your face, but you still need to sort of keep it um level uh to actually look down the sights.
- 41:33SPEAKER_11: You're kind of doing it almost manually, and hip shooting is like really crazy.
- 41:38SPEAKER_11: Obviously, as you everyone knows, the graphics are like incredible and it looks very, very um realistic and sounds incredible.
- 41:46SPEAKER_11: The main game modes are the type of ones where you are you're a SWAT-type individual, you enter a small environment, and once an entire team is dead, the other team wins.
- 41:55SPEAKER_11: That's it, right?
- 41:56SPEAKER_08: Okay, yeah.
- 41:57SPEAKER_11: Um but the realism, the clunkiness, the feel of it is just absolutely excellent.
- 42:03SPEAKER_11: It's completely HUDless as well, which is which is brilliant.
- 42:06SPEAKER_11: Um, or whenever you play a match, so you'll do like a certain number of rounds where you just play against each other, and then I can't I don't know what it is, how many rounds you need to get to actually win, but once but it'll do like um three rounds with the map normal.
- 42:20SPEAKER_11: Then you you do one where it's uh everything's completely dark, so you need to use your flashlights.
- 42:25SPEAKER_11: Then you'll do one where there's like mid-level darkness or lights are flashing on and off.
- 42:30SPEAKER_11: You might do one where it's like suddenly um like evening or night time or whatever, right?
- 42:36SPEAKER_11: Um now I played this for about an hour, and there is unfortunately is exactly what I want from a tactical military shooter, but there is one thing that absolutely destroys it and causes me to refund it.
- 42:51SPEAKER_08: So did it like did the graphics like was it too much graphics or no no like like I like the body cam thing.
- 43:02SPEAKER_11: I know.
- 43:02SPEAKER_11: But the thing is is that um so I played competitive mode.
- 43:06SPEAKER_11: The main competitive mode in the game, right?
- 43:08SPEAKER_11: We're not very good at it though.
- 43:09SPEAKER_11: That's right, so I refunded it.
- 43:11SPEAKER_11: No, uh the main competitive mode in the game is 2v2, and it's uh it's um like a bomb mode, like in uh Counter-Strike.
- 43:19SPEAKER_11: Now it sounds silly, but but the it's 2v2 because the maps are really small.
- 43:23SPEAKER_11: Um and I kind of like that about it.
- 43:26SPEAKER_11: But um you start off with a main gun, uh which another thing is the customizability of each gun is amazing.
- 43:32SPEAKER_11: You have a main gun, a sidearm, a grenade, and a gadget, right?
- 43:38SPEAKER_11: One of the gadgets is a drone with a bomb on it, and uh about 12 to 13 games in a row, I was standing at Spawn and somebody immediately got their drone out and went just exploded and killed both of our team.
- 43:51SPEAKER_11: And I was like, that's in the competitive mode.
- 43:53SPEAKER_11: That's funny and also tragic.
- 43:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah, so so one of the things is like um Is that like a competitive stream?
- 44:00SPEAKER_08: Strategy.
- 44:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it just happened over and over every round.
- 44:03SPEAKER_11: And so what I was trying to do is like this game looks amazing, and I love games like this.
- 44:08SPEAKER_11: I love realistic military shooters.
- 44:10SPEAKER_11: So I was like, this guy, I really want to give this the benefit of the doubt.
- 44:13SPEAKER_11: I'm like, so what I'm going to do at the beginning of each game is I'm going to look up and quickly try and find it and shoot it because the thing's going so fucking fast and you move at a realistic speed in that game.
- 44:21SPEAKER_11: So I was sort of like looking around trying to, and but then it would just come from a slightly different angle.
- 44:26SPEAKER_08: Did you not like knock the mouse?
- 44:28SPEAKER_08: Like put it way up.
- 44:29SPEAKER_08: So like you know, like that blinding speed, you know.
- 44:33SPEAKER_08: Like what?
- 44:34SPEAKER_08: Like when you like have the mouse as an sensitivity, like yeah, no, I had it pretty, it starts off quite high to be honest with you.
- 44:40SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 44:41SPEAKER_08: It's realistic, isn't it?
- 44:42SPEAKER_11: So you can move around that quickly.
- 44:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but I was trying, I uh yeah, so I was seeing if like there's most people just must start each round just firing into the air.
- 44:50SPEAKER_11: And then like I'll be honest, the few rounds where they didn't do it immediately at spawn, right?
- 44:56SPEAKER_11: I I I we would like be fighting each other, maybe it'd go down to 1v1, and then I'd hear and I have no idea where it is or where it's coming from.
- 45:04SPEAKER_11: So suddenly I'm just getting blown up.
- 45:06SPEAKER_11: It's like I don't know, it just absolutely ruins the game.
- 45:09SPEAKER_11: If I don't if you want to take it seriously, do not play it right now because that is the worst shit.
- 45:14SPEAKER_11: And I started doing it, and then what was happening in the beginning of each round was like we we ended up with either our drones colliding in the air and exploding, or I would explode mine on his, somebody would explode theirs on me, and then like both teams dead, or at least one person from each team dead.
- 45:30SPEAKER_11: Nice bit of drone tennis.
- 45:31SPEAKER_11: It's drone tennis.
- 45:32SPEAKER_11: That's the unfortunate thing.
- 45:34SPEAKER_11: They need to get rid of it because that is absolutely annoying.
- 45:37SPEAKER_11: Um, yeah, uh it's a shame because it really looked like our kind of thing.
- 45:42SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:43SPEAKER_08: But that that one small detail ruins it, man.
- 45:47SPEAKER_08: Release I'm excited for, which is quite rare these days.
- 45:50SPEAKER_08: Yeah, exactly.
- 45:51SPEAKER_11: Speaking of releases, I'm excited for.
- 45:53SPEAKER_11: What's uh I've been playing the Switch 2.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: What introducing Game Chat, a new feature for Nintendo Switch 2.
- 46:08SPEAKER_08: You're fraternizing with the enemy.
- 46:11SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I am.
- 46:11SPEAKER_08: Uh I bought a Switch 2.
- 46:15SPEAKER_08: Yep.
- 46:16SPEAKER_08: What'd you have to say for yourself, huh?
- 46:18SPEAKER_08: I think it might have been a mistake.
- 46:20SPEAKER_08: Oh, really?
- 46:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 46:21SPEAKER_08: Oh, sorry.
- 46:22SPEAKER_11: Well, thing is, is that um I I got a s I got a Switch 2 um because there were certain things that I kind of wanted to play on it.
- 46:32SPEAKER_11: Mainly I wanted to play the game Orbitals, right?
- 46:35SPEAKER_11: That new Haze Light style game where it looks like an 80s anime.
- 46:39SPEAKER_11: I I love the design of it and I love those types of games.
- 46:42SPEAKER_08: That's one game that did actually appeal to me.
- 46:44SPEAKER_11: It looks great.
- 46:45SPEAKER_11: I mean, it really looks great.
- 46:46SPEAKER_11: I've obviously I bought it day one when I got the Switch.
- 46:48SPEAKER_11: That's good.
- 46:49SPEAKER_11: Still looks great because I haven't fucking played it.
- 46:51SPEAKER_11: Because I got it for me and my wife to play together.
- 46:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 46:54SPEAKER_11: And I'll be honest with you, listen, so I can't I die, I've got to be quiet here.
- 46:58SPEAKER_11: But uh, she was she just spent the whole time moaning about how she couldn't play the game and it was too hard.
- 47:04SPEAKER_11: Um, and to be honest with you, it's just been a while since she's played a game with dual analogue sticks and was very rusty.
- 47:12SPEAKER_11: Okay, that so it was a bit like um she wasn't enjoying it, so fair enough.
- 47:16SPEAKER_11: But now I've got a 35 pound Switch 2 game that I don't uh like I cannot play.
- 47:21SPEAKER_11: So I said I wanted to play it with Katie, but she was playing it with her husband.
- 47:25SPEAKER_11: Her boyfriend.
- 47:27SPEAKER_08: What's the trade-in situation on that Switch 2 game though?
- 47:31SPEAKER_11: Well, I bought it on digital, didn't I?
- 47:33SPEAKER_11: So that's 30 quid down the shitter.
- 47:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but even if you buy the box version, you can't.
- 47:36SPEAKER_11: But you'll be pleased to know, Sean, I did get another game.
- 47:39SPEAKER_11: I had a choice between Donkey Kong Bonanza, a monkey game, or Star Fox.
- 47:44SPEAKER_11: Should have gone with a monkey game.
- 47:45SPEAKER_11: That looks good.
- 47:46SPEAKER_11: I don't know why I got Star Fox.
- 47:48SPEAKER_11: Not even I never liked that series.
- 47:51SPEAKER_11: Why not?
- 47:52SPEAKER_11: No, it's alright.
- 47:53SPEAKER_11: I told uh it's alright, right?
- 47:55SPEAKER_11: But the thing is when I got the 3DS, I regretted because I got that submarine game that came with it instead of Star Fox.
- 48:02SPEAKER_12: The remake for that.
- 48:03SPEAKER_12: And that was a big mistake.
- 48:05SPEAKER_11: And I was like, Star Fox seems like one of those games you could sort of infinitely perfect and get better at.
- 48:10SPEAKER_11: It was, yeah.
- 48:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and I know it's it's it's alright.
- 48:13SPEAKER_11: But the thing is, I finished it, I finished it now about five times.
- 48:17SPEAKER_11: I guess the ultimate thing is getting to the end with all your team members alive, right?
- 48:21SPEAKER_11: Them never dying.
- 48:22SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 48:22SPEAKER_11: I've done that now, so yeah, to be fair large.
- 48:26SPEAKER_11: I'm not gonna score chase in a Star Fox game.
- 48:28SPEAKER_11: I've already one credited it, so I'm like, well, what do I do now?
- 48:31SPEAKER_08: To be fair, like I I was the same back in the day, I just did that and that was it.
- 48:36SPEAKER_08: And it's good.
- 48:36SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah, no, it's good.
- 48:37SPEAKER_12: It's good, but like some people pay 50 quid for that.
- 48:40SPEAKER_12: I got it free with the Switch, so I'll just that's good, yeah.
- 48:44SPEAKER_11: But um but 50 quid and like and I thought I I actually thought for the two hours I spent playing that game, and it should be harder to one CC a game than it was with that, right?
- 48:54SPEAKER_08: There's a secret bit that you can go to as well.
- 48:57SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's fine.
- 48:58SPEAKER_08: But look, anyway, you should have got Donkey Kong, but I enjoyed what I was at least you got out for free and you had that enjoy like enjoyable experience because it is a good game.
- 49:08SPEAKER_11: It is good, and it looks absolutely gorgeous in this new remake.
- 49:11SPEAKER_11: The music is excellent.
- 49:12SPEAKER_11: They made Andros look quite a lot worse.
- 49:15SPEAKER_11: But anyway, point is that the I enjoyed the two hours, but I if I'd have spent 50 quid, I'd actually be annoyed, to be honest with you.
- 49:21SPEAKER_11: It should be a 25 pound game, even though it looks beautiful, it should be a 25 pound game.
- 49:26SPEAKER_08: Maybe uh maybe 30 if they like add Slippy back in, I guess.
- 49:31SPEAKER_11: But then, of course, what I've done is I've bought two games for a new console.
- 49:35SPEAKER_11: I've finished one of them.
- 49:36SPEAKER_11: I can't play the other one because it's a two-player game.
- 49:38SPEAKER_11: So I've got this brand new console sitting there that I that I've got fuck all on.
- 49:42SPEAKER_11: Fuck all on it.
- 49:44SPEAKER_11: So uh I bought another game.
- 49:45SPEAKER_11: I spent my own money to buy Tomodachi Life Living the Dream.
- 49:49SPEAKER_11: That's about as shallow as a puddle.
- 49:52SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 49:52SPEAKER_12: I thought it was gonna be like Animal Crossing that would last me a while, and it's like I it's yes, but it's funny.
- 49:58SPEAKER_08: Shovelware.
- 49:59SPEAKER_12: That should have been a packing game.
- 50:01SPEAKER_12: I don't know why that was 50 quid down the drain.
- 50:04SPEAKER_12: I've got a console, I don't need all ones.
- 50:10SPEAKER_11: Tomodachi Life, right?
- 50:12SPEAKER_11: It's it's a game where you put your mize on on a little island and they live together.
- 50:16SPEAKER_11: You can make them have relationships and they do funny shit.
- 50:19SPEAKER_11: But the trouble is when you see the like we've got because I'm playing it with Jesse, we've got like loads of little funny miis on the island.
- 50:26SPEAKER_11: We got Serena from Pokemon, we got Robbie Rotten from Lazy Town, like, and it's it's quite funny because you'll see, like, at one point you'll um we've given them all funny voices as well, and me, uh, Millie and Jesse are on there too.
- 50:39SPEAKER_11: But like, we're giving them all funny voices, and there's a point where like Serena will go say something like she'll speak to you directly to the player, and she'll be like, I've fallen over and I can't get up.
- 50:49SPEAKER_11: And it's like, yeah, it's quite funny.
- 50:51SPEAKER_11: It's quite funny because then somebody you get another character to go and pick her up, and then something will happen.
- 50:55SPEAKER_11: But is it funny 10 times?
- 50:57SPEAKER_11: Well, is it funny 20 times?
- 50:59SPEAKER_12: Because it happens every time you play the game.
- 51:01SPEAKER_12: Imagine Jesse 50 fucking quit the game.
- 51:04SPEAKER_08: I imagine that's Jim Sterling.
- 51:10SPEAKER_08: But um, yeah, um no, I imagine Jesse found it funny the first 20 times, and then like he still does.
- 51:16SPEAKER_11: So the thing is we we are actively quite playing it quite a lot, but I have uh you know it's just it's amusing for a bit, and then when you've seen like and if the the the annoying thing is because I'm playing it with a child, I can't do the really, really stupid shit.
- 51:29SPEAKER_11: So like I remember on the 3DS one, the 3DS one, um one of them was like, I want to talk to I had Sailor Moon and Shaquille O'Neal on my island on the 3DS one, right?
- 51:40SPEAKER_11: And one of them was like, Sailor Moon was like, I want I want to go and speak to Shaquille O'Neal about something.
- 51:45SPEAKER_11: What should I speak about?
- 51:46SPEAKER_11: And I put wanking, obviously, right?
- 51:47SPEAKER_11: Yeah, of course.
- 51:48SPEAKER_11: And she goes up to Shaquille O'Neal and she's like, I want to talk to you about wanking.
- 51:52SPEAKER_11: And I was like, but I can't do that stuff of stuff because I'm playing it with Jesse, right?
- 51:56SPEAKER_11: Certainly not.
- 51:57SPEAKER_11: So we've got like so when you can make your own little items and give them to the Mies and give them names and stuff, like it's it's a bit less funny when you can make like if I was playing on my own, I'd be like, There's a bit we have to design a cake, right?
- 52:10SPEAKER_11: And I'd call it like Jizz Cake or something and see them sort of talk about it.
- 52:13SPEAKER_11: But like Jesse's there, and I'm like, where should we call it?
- 52:14SPEAKER_11: And he's like, call it Jesse cake, and I'm like, Yeah, it's fine, it's not funny though, is it?
- 52:19SPEAKER_08: It's not funny, not great.
- 52:20SPEAKER_11: So I can't really have the proper fun with the game I want to, and I'm not making my own fucking island of making eight more me's because that's not happening.
- 52:26SPEAKER_08: It does sound like a like a nice sort of introductory game that they should have tied in with the Switch too.
- 52:31SPEAKER_08: It absolutely should be.
- 52:32SPEAKER_08: Asking for 50 quid for that game is insane, man.
- 52:36SPEAKER_08: Like you don't even get the game either.
- 52:38SPEAKER_08: Like if you're if you yeah.
- 52:41SPEAKER_11: But here's the thing one of the funny things in it is that it does like these news stories where funny shit will happen around the island, right?
- 52:47SPEAKER_11: And then fucking the other residents will will comment on it.
- 52:51SPEAKER_11: But it's not funny, and they they don't even say the the cool thing about the 3DS one was that you could make them sing songs, like they have songs and you could write lyrics and they would sing it.
- 52:58SPEAKER_11: Oh, that's it.
- 52:59SPEAKER_11: And like people did did ones of singing about Epstein Island and shit like that.
- 53:02SPEAKER_11: But the trouble is then people put that on YouTube, so Nintendo taking the songs out.
- 53:05SPEAKER_11: That was one of the funniest parts.
- 53:07SPEAKER_11: The other thing is the news, the news will just be like still images of your characters, and it'll be like, today somebody went for a run, and then they fell over a banana peel.
- 53:15SPEAKER_11: Here's what the residents had to say, and then it'll cut to like Mime, and he's going, I thought it was amusing.
- 53:20SPEAKER_11: And it's like, is that funny?
- 53:22SPEAKER_11: It's not really, is it?
- 53:23SPEAKER_08: Certainly not, no.
- 53:24SPEAKER_08: I bet they repeat a lot as well.
- 53:26SPEAKER_08: All the time.
- 53:27SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:27SPEAKER_11: It's it's the most shallow game I've ever played in my life.
- 53:31SPEAKER_11: I hate it.
- 53:32SPEAKER_11: I hate it.
- 53:33SPEAKER_11: I suppose the only funny thing is you can give them quirks and like things that they say.
- 53:37SPEAKER_11: We've currently got Millie, my wife.
- 53:40SPEAKER_11: Her her me, whenever she eats something, she says bumba clot.
- 53:44SPEAKER_11: That's uh it's funny.
- 53:46SPEAKER_11: And we've given her, she's got the funniest voice as well, so she goes bumberclot.
- 53:50SPEAKER_08: Nice, nice.
- 53:52SPEAKER_11: But voice I'm not entirely sure because you could do that on Microsoft Sam on your computer right now.
- 53:56SPEAKER_11: I'm not sure that's worth 50 fucking quid.
- 53:58SPEAKER_08: Well, you just did it, so there you go.
- 54:00SPEAKER_08: I did a good impression of it.
- 54:01SPEAKER_08: Um but at least you've got like sort of a you know, you've got most of it.
- 54:06SPEAKER_12: That's a very expensive paperweight.
- 54:08SPEAKER_08: You're most of the way there to Smash, the new Smash Brothers.
- 54:11SPEAKER_08: So yeah.
- 54:12SPEAKER_11: I will have it for that.
- 54:13SPEAKER_11: I have pre-ordered Ocarina of Time, but here's the thing World of Warcraft Forever comes out a day before, and I know which one I would like to play.
- 54:20SPEAKER_11: The brilliant, like going back to the the basics classic fucking MMO, or one of the most Mid of Zelda games ever made.
- 54:30SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's true, that's true.
- 54:31SPEAKER_08: Um you won't have time.
- 54:33SPEAKER_08: I mean, how much was Zelda as well?
- 54:35SPEAKER_11: Oh, and another another thing about the fucking game.
- 54:37SPEAKER_11: Oh, don't don't talk, don't talk to me about it, man.
- 54:40SPEAKER_11: Another thing about the see, I I'd very rarely make lavish purchases, and this is a fucking waste of money.
- 54:45SPEAKER_11: That was a shame, but no, but here's the thing I did buy, because I wanted to play orbitals or Mills, I bought another pair of Joy-Cons.
- 54:52SPEAKER_08: You bought another, but those are like 50 quid each, aren't they?
- 54:56SPEAKER_08: No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 54:57SPEAKER_08: Like one Joy-Con's 50 quid.
- 55:00SPEAKER_11: I can't remember how much.
- 55:01SPEAKER_11: I think it was 55.
- 55:02SPEAKER_11: 55 quid doesn't come with a grip.
- 55:05SPEAKER_11: Well, one Joy-Con.
- 55:06SPEAKER_11: No, no, for two, for a pair.
- 55:07SPEAKER_12: But it doesn't come with a grip.
- 55:09SPEAKER_12: So I'm trying to play orbitals with these tiny little fucking things that I can't eat, I can't even use the analog stick properly.
- 55:14SPEAKER_12: Guess how much a grip is?
- 55:15SPEAKER_12: It's 20 quid.
- 55:16SPEAKER_12: 20 quid for a hunk like a hunk of the card.
- 55:19SPEAKER_12: I cannot believe I cannot believe the state that this fucking industry in.
- 55:22SPEAKER_11: I got this thing home, was so fucking excited.
- 55:25SPEAKER_11: I was like, finished Star Fox, can't play orbitals, Tomodachi life is fucking vapid.
- 55:30SPEAKER_11: I've got fucking controller with no grip.
- 55:33SPEAKER_12: Mouse mode.
- 55:34SPEAKER_12: It's got mouse mode.
- 55:35SPEAKER_12: They're gonna like they've Do you know what I've been playing on it?
- 55:38SPEAKER_12: Mouse mode.
- 55:39SPEAKER_11: Yes, you can no doubt and see it's in its case because I took it to uni today.
- 55:42SPEAKER_11: Guess what I've been playing on it?
- 55:44SPEAKER_11: Um I'll don't know.
- 55:45SPEAKER_12: Grandiere 2 for the Dreamcast.
- 55:47SPEAKER_12: How'd you do that?
- 55:48SPEAKER_12: It's just it's you can buy it on the store.
- 55:51SPEAKER_11: I had it on my Switch library already.
- 55:52SPEAKER_11: Oh and also, right, last thing last thing about this ran.
- 55:56SPEAKER_11: This fucking virtual game card shit.
- 55:58SPEAKER_11: But I could play Grandia 2 anyway, like Yeah, you could.
- 56:01SPEAKER_11: You could play it on anything, yeah.
- 56:02SPEAKER_11: Right, don't rub it in.
- 56:04SPEAKER_11: But the virtual game card shit, right?
- 56:05SPEAKER_11: Here's what happens.
- 56:06SPEAKER_11: I get the console home, right?
- 56:08SPEAKER_11: And I'm like, finally, I've got a machine that I can play virtual racing on again, right?
- 56:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah, because that is that it's the thing I played most on the Switch, right?
- 56:17SPEAKER_11: So, but I've now got a new machine with slightly nicer controllers I can play it on.
- 56:20SPEAKER_11: That's good, right?
- 56:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 56:22SPEAKER_11: So I go into my account, right?
- 56:23SPEAKER_11: I do the whole fucking thing of logging in and having to reset my password because I haven't used it in six fucking years.
- 56:28SPEAKER_11: And then I I go on there, I go, right, I'll install virtual racing.
- 56:31SPEAKER_11: There's this new virtual game card shit to stop people sharing games, right?
- 56:36SPEAKER_11: Across or I just give you my details and you play my games, right?
- 56:39SPEAKER_11: They don't want people doing that.
- 56:40SPEAKER_11: So the game the fucking Switch is like, it by the way, this game's already inserted into your Switch 1.
- 56:46SPEAKER_12: I'm like, what do you mean?
- 56:48SPEAKER_12: It's a digital game, and then I have to fucking get dig out my Switch 1, right?
- 56:52SPEAKER_11: And the controllers have got stick drift on them so bad they're unusable, right?
- 56:56SPEAKER_11: So I have to wrestle with that.
- 56:57SPEAKER_08: That's the real difficulty.
- 56:59SPEAKER_11: Uh I had to I had to wait for that to charge up, then take it, I take the virtual game card out virtually on the Switch 1 to put it on my Switch 2.
- 57:07SPEAKER_11: I had to do that for about 60 games, my entire library, just taking cards out and putting them in.
- 57:13SPEAKER_11: It's well, at least you can play your Switch 1 games again.
- 57:16SPEAKER_11: That's that's all I've been doing on the fucking thing.
- 57:19SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and like I I I wouldn't mind if there was a big system seller game coming along.
- 57:24SPEAKER_11: But occurring of time, I'm looking forward to it.
- 57:26SPEAKER_11: That is the like that I should have got Bonanza.
- 57:29SPEAKER_08: I would have loved that.
- 57:30SPEAKER_08: That's probably the best game they've had, really, to be honest.
- 57:33SPEAKER_08: I'm fucking livid.
- 57:35SPEAKER_08: Well, the Switch too, the state the state of it.
- 57:38SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's terrible, man.
- 57:39SPEAKER_11: But but it is nice playing games of 4K, the controllers are a bit nicer, and the screen is beautiful.
- 57:46SPEAKER_08: There will definitely be like a couple of releases at least.
- 57:48SPEAKER_11: I tell you what, the thing you need it for.
- 57:50SPEAKER_11: What it feels like is a second iteration of the Switch, right?
- 57:54SPEAKER_11: And I will say a couple of things, which is exactly what it is.
- 57:57SPEAKER_11: But I will say a couple of things.
- 57:58SPEAKER_11: Dock's nicer, screen's nicer, the stand doesn't feel flimsy like it's gonna drop off, right?
- 58:04SPEAKER_08: Yeah, the dock feels like uh really nice.
- 58:08SPEAKER_11: It's bigger as well.
- 58:09SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 58:09SPEAKER_11: But um, yeah, and the the controllers are slightly nicer, but it if you don't have a switch one or you want access to a switch one library, that's a good reason to get one.
- 58:19SPEAKER_11: But the price point they're at, I just happened to find one that was 200 pounds off.
- 58:23SPEAKER_11: That's why I got it.
- 58:24SPEAKER_11: And I and and even still I think it was an unworthy purchase.
- 58:28SPEAKER_08: At least the uh controller doesn't come broken this time, to be fair.
- 58:33SPEAKER_08: That's good.
- 58:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's nice.
- 58:34SPEAKER_11: Actually, it sort of actually does come broken because I got two Joy-Cons without a fucking grip.
- 58:38SPEAKER_11: That's a joy that's a controller that's literally broken in half.
- 58:43SPEAKER_11: Fucking uh Miyamoto must be spinning in his grave.
- 58:52SPEAKER_11: Nice.
- 58:52SPEAKER_11: Um anyway, that's a switch to rant.
- 58:55SPEAKER_11: Um Grandia 2's quite a good game though.
- 58:57SPEAKER_11: So right, get lucky, let's go on to your item.
- 59:01SPEAKER_08: Alright, let's go.
- 59:07SPEAKER_08: Lucky Lucky, lucky.
- 59:10SPEAKER_08: Uh quick fire top fives.
- 59:12SPEAKER_08: Uh so I guess like I'll do an idea for a top five, and then you just quickly like say your top five things.
- 59:22SPEAKER_11: Okay, so you're gonna hit me with the top five.
- 59:24SPEAKER_11: Like, what's your top five?
- 59:25SPEAKER_11: This, and then I have to quickly come up with it.
- 59:27SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 59:27SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and then I'll fire one back at you.
- 59:29SPEAKER_08: Alright, yeah, let's do that.
- 59:30SPEAKER_11: Let's go, let's go.
- 59:31SPEAKER_11: This is good.
- 59:32SPEAKER_11: This is gonna help me get over my shit purchase.
- 59:34SPEAKER_11: I should I could have got PS5.
- 59:36SPEAKER_11: No, I couldn't have, I couldn't afford that.
- 59:37SPEAKER_11: But anyway, go on, go on.
- 59:38SPEAKER_08: Alright, uh, top of the list.
- 59:39SPEAKER_08: Uh top five gaming beverages.
- 59:42SPEAKER_08: What do you mean?
- 59:43SPEAKER_08: Like what like drinks you have when you're game?
- 59:47SPEAKER_08: Um, beer.
- 59:50SPEAKER_12: Like, I thought you meant like something in a game.
- 59:52SPEAKER_12: What do you mean, top five gaming beverages?
- 59:54SPEAKER_08: Some of the things might be in a game.
- 59:56SPEAKER_08: Right, I'm a simple man.
- 59:57SPEAKER_11: But uh my top five is really only gonna be a top two.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_11: Monster Energy beer, that's it.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_11: Okay, sorry.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_11: You know, actually, you know, from when we went to that um uh convention recently, the fighting game tournament, I spent the whole weekend only drinking beer.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_08: I did not see you drink water at it.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_11: Because I'm not paying for water.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_11: I r I resent that.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_11: And when a hotel just gives you one shitty little bottle, right, every day, that is out of order.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_11: I did drink those, didn't I?
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_11: But that's it.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you did.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_08: You did um I'm not surprised you didn't get any headaches or I did, I had a constant headache, but I'm not paying for water.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_11: Um also like Right, hit me with a different top five, one that's less shit than that.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_11: Like top five.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_08: That was a good one.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_11: No, it wasn't.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_08: Um I mean, I I mean I would I would have liked to have had that one.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_08: Would you?
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_09: Oh, I see.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_08: Um if you're doing a different one.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_08: Right, give me a good one.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_08: Come on.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_08: Alright, top five.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_08: Alright, uh, top five Switch 2 games.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_08: No, no, that was a joke.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_11: Uh it's not even a top one for that, to be honest with you.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_08: Uh alright, top five SNK games.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_11: Uh see that is a good one.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_11: I'll start with number five.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_11: Art of Fighting Three.
- 1:01:03unknown: Okay.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_11: Four.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_11: Samurai Show Dirt.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_11: No.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_11: Okay, so Arts of Fighting Three, number four is gonna be King of Fighters 98.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_11: Alright, nice.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_11: Number three is Um Oh god, I can't remember what it's called.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_11: The golf game that they did.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, I know the one.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_08: I know the uh turf masters.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_11: Big tournament golf.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_11: Oh, big tournament golf.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_11: Neo turf masters in Japan, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_11: So that's number three.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_11: Number two, Garou Mark of the Wolves, number one, Fatal Fury City of the Wolves.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_08: Okay, surprisingly, no Metal Slug in there, but maybe that's just slightly off the list.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_11: It is just slightly off the list.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_11: I like Metal Slug a lot, but yeah, yeah, not one of my favourites.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_11: Alright, my top five for you, top five dogs in gaming.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_11: Top five dogs in gaming.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_08: Uh alright, um man, um it's like dogs keep appearing and then going away, but no, mate.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_08: Like, I've got I've got like a couple of dogs to be honest.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_11: I've got like a couple of dogs that I roll with, you know.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_08: Um Nintendo's number five.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_09: Um, if you can't think of any dogs for more.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_08: I'll go with uh think of one dog.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_08: I'll go with Bow Well from um Link's Awakening is number four.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_08: Not really.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_08: Strictly a dog, but somebody thinks he's a dog.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_11: He identifies as a dog, that's fine.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_11: He's like our brothers and sisters in the furry community.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_11: And I'm only letting you have that one because you're struggling so hard.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_11: Right, number three.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_11: Uh number three.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_11: We just listened to a man thinking of dogs.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_12: That's not this in a podcast.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_12: What are we doing?
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_12: No, but we're doing I just realised.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_12: I just had a moment there.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_08: Usually the answer would usually the answers would spill out.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_08: But I realised, do you know who that's that podcast clip that's been floating around there?
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_11: It's like, do you know what?
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah, chips is like genuinely generally the best side you can get.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_11: I've been on MASH recently, like, and there's uh people always caption it, they just let anyone do podcasts, right?
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's we just have one of those.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_08: Yeah, people are listening to a man trying to think of a dog.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_08: But at least we don't pretend we know what we're talking about, though.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_11: That's true, actually.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_11: We know that we're idiots.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_11: That's we're self-aware crap.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_11: Um go on, think of a dog.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_11: Just do one more, let's do top three.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_11: What's your best dog?
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_08: I've got my number one as Bony from from other three, to be honest.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_11: That's a good dog.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it is.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_11: I would also say dog from Fable Two and three Resident Evil Dog.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_08: That's good.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_08: I also did think of the dog from Fallout 3, but I don't really like that game, so.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_11: Dog Meat does feature in the first game.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, alright.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_11: Okay, so dog meat.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_11: Okay, there we go.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_11: That's top five dogs.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_11: Uh Sean's item, top five dogs.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_11: Wait a minute, no.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_08: Can I do can I do can I do Do you want to you want to do the beer one?
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_08: No, can I do can I do top five?
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_08: So you're giving yourself a subject now.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_08: No, top five.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_08: Wait, oh you're giving me one.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_08: No, no, I know I've done dogs.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_12: I've done one.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_12: I done I did two, I did drink.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_08: I did you did you once I've given you a good one though.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_08: I just did what you get top five, top five levels in FPSs.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_12: Right, hang on, what are we doing here?
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_12: What are we doing here?
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_12: Right, you've got you're too close to your mic.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_08: Okay, right.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_12: You hit me with one.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_12: Do I have to get here with another one then?
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_11: Well, we're just going back and forth infinitely.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_11: When does this stop?
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_11: I thought it was like you give me a top five, I'll give you a top five next item.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_11: Okay, alright.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_11: Top five FPS levels, EM, M1, uh from Doom.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_11: Uh no, I'm not doing it.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_11: Dust two.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_11: Right, we've done we've done dogs.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_11: Yes, dust two.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_11: There we go.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_11: That's the top one.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_11: Um, ruined it with the dogs, though.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_11: I think you ruined it with the dogs.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_11: I can think of dogs like that.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_12: Like nobody's business.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_12: You can't think of a dog.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_12: That's your problem.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_12: That's how much, how little imagination you've got.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_12: You can't even think of a dog.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_11: Um, we've got an episode titled uh well, I was thinking that, or drone tennis, but um anyway.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_11: Uh right, we're going to my item.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_11: It's hurting me, it's actually hurting me.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_11: Okay, Sean, you like video game music, right?
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_11: It's most of it's most of what Sean actually listens to.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_11: And to be honest with you, ladies and gentlemen, he doesn't have a subscription scripture to any music service.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_11: He listens to all of his music on YouTube.
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_11: I've I'm only subscribed to Netflix and Can you imagine listening to the masterpiece and NASA's Ilmatic album, but it's ruined by Foxy Binga adverts?
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_08: Uh well, there's ones without ads and stuff.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_08: I mean, and you can have ad block and all of that.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah, because you've got an Android phone.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_11: Alright, fair enough.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_11: Right, but so could you identify songs from video games if I played you 10 second clips?
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_11: Could you identify them?
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_11: Now, this was inspired because the other day I saw a video on YouTube where somebody had overlaid every slipknot song on top of each other, and it just sounded like a slipknot song, to be honest with you.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_11: Um, so what I've done is I have got four examples here where I've taken every song from the game and layered them on top of each other, and you have to guess what the game is.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_11: Right, this this one first
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_08: What recognise that?
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_08: I recognise one of those guitars.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_08: It's nine.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_11: Um I don't think there are any guitars in the game.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_08: Well uh Final Fantasy X.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_08: No, that was uh Street Fighter 3 third strike.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_07: Oh god.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_11: Alright, what is this one?
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_08: Castlevania.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_11: It is Castlevania.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_11: Can you tell me which one?
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_08: Uh the fourth one.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_11: No.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_11: Good.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_08: Oh no.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_08: Oh, it's three, isn't it?
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_11: Two.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_11: That was good though.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_11: I'll give you a point.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_11: I'll give you a point because you guessed the series, and this is not easy.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_11: I think you're gonna get this one.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_11: Uh have a listen.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_11: Right, what was that?
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_11: What was that hideous noise?
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_11: Imagine the people playing in this in their car and they can't just fast forward this segment.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_11: They're gonna be having a horrible time.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah, what was that?
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_08: That was FF7, wasn't it?
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_11: It was not.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_11: That was Elder Scrolls Oblivion.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_11: And I think it's really easy.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's quite distinct, isn't it?
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_11: Last one.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_08: Street to Age.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah, Streets of Rage.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_11: Which one?
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_11: Two.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_11: Spawn.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_11: I thought that one was quite an easy one.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_11: I did it's just that little character like the little believe it or not, that took longer than it should have to make, so that's why I've only got four.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_11: I was gonna do Final Fantasy XIV as well, but there are so many songs in that game, but it would have been like hundreds of load on top of each other.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_11: Um I actually titled that section Audio Hell, and I think that was quite right.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's apt.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_11: Alright, let's go for a break, and then we would do the mail.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_11: Right, okay.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_11: I've been to the shop to buy Risla.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_11: Um, right, so this is the mail.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_11: Um I asked you out there in video game land to tell us which video game mechanic do you wish existed in real life and why.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_11: Dr.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_11: Mamson, he's a smell of few words, he says quacksave, that might be a misspelling, and fast travel.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_08: Well, I don't know what quacksave is.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_11: It's probably if you're a cuck, like he is.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_11: Um and uh well ghost, they say being able to redo saves if you make the wrong decision, or for the Americans being able to heal by eating random food to save on their med medical bills, and they've got a good point there.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_11: So both of them have also picked the the saves thing, and I feel like that would be very handy.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_08: That would be, yeah.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_08: I mean, if you were to make a like a stupid mistake.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_11: I mean, if like in your case I'd reload before we started this podcast and do it.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_08: Well do it again.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_08: Probably like save just before you bought the switch too.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_08: Don't rub it in, man.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_08: I wish I I couldn't pass up the opportunity, but I'm sorry.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_11: But that is exactly what I would have done, yes.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_11: Um, and also, you know, it was deeply socially awkward, man.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_11: There are plenty of things that I wish I could just go, well, that went badly, just uh quickly uh reload that one.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_11: Um and fast travel, do you know, it's actually a bad one.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_11: It's a bad choice for a real video game mechanic, and I'll tell you why.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_11: Because in most games that have fast travel, the world time still progresses.
- 1:09:24SPEAKER_11: You get there instantly, it feels instant, but the world has moved on the same seven hours as if it would have taken taken you to walk it, right?
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_08: I'd be up for that if I like if it if I got on a flight and then the world moved on.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah, I guess you just blink and it's over, but you've still used up the 13 hours.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_11: I've got a bet one for my answer later, and I'll save that.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_11: Um but yeah, just eating shit to heal would be absolutely brilliant.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_11: I mean, in the Fallout TV series, there's a point where they're having a shootout and one of them eats tomatoes mid-battle, and it's like a nod to that.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah, like if I've moved in a fight, just like take a take a random lettuce head to munch on and you know.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but the thing is you've you've got to be a good enough fighter to be able to get the space within the battle to be able to eat the lettuce.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah, like if I like like I couldn't even fend off one uh one person.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_08: If I like throw the lettuce in the air, punch someone, and then catch the lettuce, eat it.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_11: You're like Dante from Devil May Cry 3.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_11: Um, right, well, we'll try that out.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_11: We'll go out to the pub after this, we'll threaten a random bloke and get you into a fight.
- 1:10:23SPEAKER_11: We'll take a lettuce with us.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_08: Well, no, not now.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_08: We won't try it right now, you know.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_11: But we will have that's something we can do for the YouTube channel, maybe.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_11: Go subscribe.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_11: Calendar permitting, you know.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_11: Kill defences.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_11: He says, I think the obvious answer here is restart from last quicksave.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_11: There are plenty of moments I would have save scum my way through some shit situation.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_11: I think second would be having food I eat heal me.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_11: After having just got out of the hospital, it would be nice to eat half a loaf of bread and some sausage and be at 100% HP.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_11: Now, he is in America and he has been on the Discord telling us about his medical bill.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_11: I'm thinking, do we do a fundraiser for him?
- 1:10:57SPEAKER_08: A fundraiser.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah, where it's where we're just raising fun.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_11: We're trying to cheer him up.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_11: We keep the money.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_11: We're doing that right now, though.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_11: This is this is for you, Kill Defences.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_11: I hope this makes you feel better.
- 1:11:07SPEAKER_08: Yeah, we did this whole episode based on the floor.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_11: You do have another 30k in medical expenses, but this should uh tide you over.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_08: It wasn't really like our schedule, like uh it wasn't that we had to do the podcast based on the fact that we do it the same time every month.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_08: That's just a coincidence.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it happens to be that right now we are doing a fundraiser for you.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_11: This one's for you, champ.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_08: Also, like if you're eating American bread, then maybe that's the reason you're in hospital, I guess.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_11: Having a go there, having a pop.
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah, but yes, that that is that sorry to hear that.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_08: I hope you like a speedy recovery and that.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_11: No, no, I really hope you're alright, and I really hope that you manage to uh somehow worm your way out of those medical bills because that's a joke.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_11: And also, like but Sean is right, American food is banned.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_11: Come over here.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_11: Thanks for we'll look after you.
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_11: Sean will look after you.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_08: Definitely, yeah, I'll take you to Greg's man.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_08: Um, but um also what was I gonna say?
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_11: For reference, Greg is not a person, uh, guild offences, it's a uh fast food chain that sells the mid as fuck sausage rolls.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_08: Yeah, they don't what how dare you?
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_08: Uh yeah yes, what were you gonna say?
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_11: Sean's thinking so high.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_11: Are you trying to think of a dog again?
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_11: No is this what where we're at now?
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_08: No, I was gonna say like thanks for like using the last of your energy to type that message to us.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_08: He's not dead, he's just got out of hospital.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_11: He's fine now.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_11: That's why he's got the bills.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_11: Oh, oh, okay.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_11: He used his last of his energy to message the Lucky and Wild podcast.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_11: He sadly died.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_11: Well, not the way he wanted, or the way in the situation he wanted, because he was messaging a podcast that nobody listens to.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_11: Ace, he says actual proper level ups would be my serious answer.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_11: Now that's a good one.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_11: He says every three months I get four skill points that stay that way forever.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_11: I hate that I'm losing points in sexy and agility.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_11: Um so because he's getting older.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but did he start with any to begin with?
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_11: Why do you you always take the male as an opportunity to have a go at these people, right?
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_12: These are the listeners.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_08: Yeah, these five people that message in and the only people that fucking listen.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_11: I'm just like, you know, you're a cunt, and that's why I like you.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_08: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, um, but yeah, yeah, levelling up like so you you get to a point in your life where you're just you're you're you're most attractive and you just stay that way forever.
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_11: That would be great.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_08: That would be good.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_11: Although I also Because if if that were the case for me, I would still be good at LaserQuest.
- 1:13:23SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_11: I'd still I'd still be able to actually run around when we go and play Airsoft, and I wouldn't forget games if I don't uh completely if I don't play them for two days.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I mean I I'm you know I'd still be good at micro machines to be honest.
- 1:13:36SPEAKER_11: Well that's a bit less that's more useful.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_11: It's not really a useful usable skill these days.
- 1:13:40SPEAKER_11: No.
- 1:13:40SPEAKER_11: LaserQuest obviously is.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_11: Um he says I wish FOV adjustment was a thing.
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_11: Field of view.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_11: Uh not really a mechanic.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_11: I would love to have uh I would love to have our 50 degree FOV when I'm locked into a screen and 95 when I'm walking about.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_11: That's a great idea.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_11: Just having fucking really good profiter profiteral pro peripheral vision.
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_11: It's a difficult word to say, to be fair.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_08: That is good.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_11: Uh, in case you have like assailants come up to you, which I think So if you had adjustable FOV when you're in Croydon when you got your end gauge stolen, you would have been out of there, mate.
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_11: I would just you would have seen them from a mile off.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_08: I'd probably be a LaserQuest professional by now if that was the case, though, to be honest.
- 1:14:19SPEAKER_11: We we were professional LaserQuest players.
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_11: There was a lot not that much money in it, was there?
- 1:14:23SPEAKER_11: Not not and there's probably even less now.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_11: Um Sid the Squid, he says, Okay, video game mechanic I could get in real life.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_11: One save points, yes.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_11: Two, inventory management.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_11: Now that's a good one.
- 1:14:36SPEAKER_11: Like to you you've got but your bag is a nightmare of shit.
- 1:14:39SPEAKER_11: I'm not I can see it over there.
- 1:14:40SPEAKER_11: It's just she's shit chucked in randomly.
- 1:14:43SPEAKER_11: Imagine you could just in your head just pick a list, you plunge your hand in there, you get the exact thing you need every time.
- 1:14:49SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:49SPEAKER_11: That's very, very handy.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_11: Um, three, he says overhead map at any time that shows not just the roads and buildings but also the people and things on it.
- 1:14:56SPEAKER_11: He's got he wants a GPS uh directly in front of his eyes at all times.
- 1:15:01SPEAKER_08: I was saying I was thinking I've got that in my head, but like with the people on it as well, like that would that would be good.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_08: That's a game changer, to be honest.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_11: It would be good for avoiding uh everyone.
- 1:15:13SPEAKER_08: If you if there's an awkward conversation coming near you, like stuck in an alley.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_11: Um yes, so that that that is a really, really good one.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_08: Imagine you need something from Poundland and that.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_11: I'd love to have a GPS in my head at all times because I'm constantly getting lost, especially when I'm with you.
- 1:15:30SPEAKER_11: Because you give bad directions.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_11: Uh fucking Nordir.
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_11: He says, Gun, give me that unrealistic player inventory.
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_11: Sick of having to find places to keep stuff and just thinking about what to bring with me.
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_11: I just want to have it all in quantum storage sorted alphabetically.
- 1:15:42SPEAKER_08: Yeah, wouldn't it be nice to like basically have a fridge that you could just carry about and then just get it out, just put bits.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah, because he what he wants those inventory systems where you can just carry infinite shit and it's in a nice convenient list.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_11: I'd love that.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:55SPEAKER_11: I'd love like just being able to just have everything I own on me at all times without it encumbering me.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_08: That'd be good.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_08: Also, wouldn't there be a point where you would get over encumbered though?
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_08: Like you don't like one time you'd have like a like a cheese wheel and then you get overencumbered or something.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_11: And then suddenly you literally cannot walk.
- 1:16:13SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you're thinking of oblivion though.
- 1:16:15SPEAKER_11: I'm thinking of like uh I don't know uh Metal Gear Solid or something.
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_11: Yeah, Metal Gear Solid, where he's got 10 rocket launchers in his trousers and uh loads of machine guns, yeah, like something like that.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_11: That would be that would be amazing.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_11: Imagine how much space you would save in your house, because it would just be all in somewhere in some sort of nether realm.
- 1:16:33SPEAKER_08: I'd I'd yeah, I'd do that.
- 1:16:34SPEAKER_11: I would actually do that.
- 1:16:35SPEAKER_11: I would do that.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_11: Now, those are all very good answers, but I think the main takeaway is the save points.
- 1:16:40SPEAKER_11: We as nerds have done a lot of embarrassing shit in our lives, and we want to uh undo it.
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_11: Basically, buying a switch too, for example, starting this podcast, for example, uh my continued friendship with you, for example.
- 1:16:53SPEAKER_08: Scooting down a hill and then crashing twice.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_11: So you know right, we've got to tell that story now that you've mentioned it.
- 1:16:58SPEAKER_11: Um Sean Sean Sean, there's a there's a sort of autistic trait of taking certain your hobbies very seriously.
- 1:17:05SPEAKER_11: And Sean, there's not a hobby you've ever had that you haven't tried to go pro in.
- 1:17:09SPEAKER_08: Oh no, yeah.
- 1:17:10SPEAKER_11: That's always been the focus.
- 1:17:11SPEAKER_11: And there was a point where Sean just got into riding a scooter around and he saw it as some sort of like his that was his destined path in life.
- 1:17:19SPEAKER_11: No, I didn't.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_11: You did?
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_11: You did, and then there was a point where he he was he was going down bombing down the biggest hill in our hometown.
- 1:17:27SPEAKER_11: And our town is like named after the fact it has loads of hills, right?
- 1:17:30SPEAKER_11: And some of them are very steep.
- 1:17:32SPEAKER_11: Sean was bombing down Redstone, was it Redstone Hill?
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_11: One of the biggest hills.
- 1:17:37SPEAKER_11: He was going down faster than that scooter could handle.
- 1:17:39SPEAKER_11: It's very hard to walk up, I'll just say that.
- 1:17:42SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it really is.
- 1:17:43SPEAKER_11: And he tried to go between two lampposts, smashed into one of them, wasn't wearing a shirt for some reason.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_08: No, it was a sign, it was a road sign.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_11: A road sign.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_11: I went, I tried to thread in between a road sign and he smashed into it and then went flying down.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_11: He was covered head to toe in scratches, scrazes, like there were stones.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_11: I had stones embedded in there, and then when we got home, our dad, understandably, was like, What the fuck are you doing that for?
- 1:18:07SPEAKER_08: Well, it's like shortly, um, shortly after I'd done that terrible crash and like flew and like rolled over a few times and he was going for ages down the hill.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_08: I got up and then like one minute later I crashed again.
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_08: And yeah, I was just like hopping up and down from the pain and like the he was covered in blood, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_11: And and then we went home, and our dad was like, Well, what the fuck are you doing, that stupid shit full?
- 1:18:33SPEAKER_11: And Sean, what did you say?
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_11: What did you say?
- 1:18:35SPEAKER_08: What did you say?
- 1:18:35SPEAKER_08: These aren't scratches.
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_08: Uh these aren't scratches, they're badges of honour.
- 1:18:40SPEAKER_08: He actually said that.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_12: He actually said that and meant it.
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_12: That is the worst.
- 1:18:43SPEAKER_11: I was like, I cannot believe you even started saying that.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_11: I was 16 or something, I guess.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_11: That's too old to be saying these are badge.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_11: I don't think if a seven-year-old said that, you'd be like, that's cringe, mate.
- 1:18:53SPEAKER_11: Sean, that is the worst thing you've ever done.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah.
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_11: It's really cringe.
- 1:18:59SPEAKER_08: That's quite bad, yeah.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_11: But a video game mechanic you wish you could have in real life.
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_11: Obviously, like some sort of you want the uh the bike from Wolverine.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_11: Because if that crash had happened, you would have been absolutely fine.
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_08: You would have just got to the end no bother.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_08: Well, I think it like just being able to switch off and just go to London on a bike, you know, just like just let the bike do the work.
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_11: You say some very odd stuff sometimes.
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_11: Being able to switch off and go to London on a bike.
- 1:19:23SPEAKER_08: Well, because you don't have to drive the bike and the cars don't get damaged, so you can just bounce in between cars and just go to London.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_08: Well, we live down the right, we live very close to London.
- 1:19:32SPEAKER_11: So you're saying what you want as your video game mechanic is the bike from Wolverine, because you could just get anywhere.
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_11: You could bump into shit, which is fun if you don't get injured.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah, there's no consequence.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_11: All right, fair enough.
- 1:19:42SPEAKER_11: That's a good one.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_11: Um, I want the quick time events from Wolverine.
- 1:19:46SPEAKER_11: Because the thing is, if you if you if you know, like times in your life when you know a glass is about to fall over, yeah, if you could be completely 100% confident, you're always gonna catch it.
- 1:19:54SPEAKER_11: It doesn't matter what button, internal button you press in your mind, you are catching the glass.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_11: End of story.
- 1:19:59SPEAKER_11: That would be very, very handy.
- 1:20:01SPEAKER_11: Um, but I was thinking respawning.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_11: You know the mechanic in Minecraft where you sleep in a bed and then it becomes your spawn point, right?
- 1:20:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:08SPEAKER_11: I uh let's say I have to go to university one day, right?
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_11: I I need to go home.
- 1:20:13SPEAKER_11: Instead of doing fast travel, and it still takes me an hour to get home, but I just am not experiencing it, right?
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_11: What happens is I just jump off the nearest building, I'm home instantly, and I've saved all that time that I would have done on tra uh uh in travelling.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_08: That is a that would be amazing to be honest.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_11: But the trouble is is then when you go to sleep in a hotel in a foreign country, you forget.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_11: You walk in front of some tracks.
- 1:20:37SPEAKER_11: I'm back here, shit, I'm back in Japan, and now it's illegal.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that'd be bad.
- 1:20:41SPEAKER_11: Yeah, um, fucking northerner.
- 1:20:44SPEAKER_11: Uh, thank you very much for your responses to the question.
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_11: Some uh great answers.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_11: Uh, if you want to do so, please join the Discord, it's in the description.
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_11: But fucking Northerner does come in with a question for us.
- 1:20:53SPEAKER_11: He says, What's your opinion on in-game cosmetics?
- 1:20:56SPEAKER_08: I love them.
- 1:20:57SPEAKER_08: Me too.
- 1:20:58SPEAKER_08: Um, like that there is a reason probably why they're like, you know, yeah, like they try and nickel and dime us for all of them because everyone loves them, I think.
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_11: But but you have to remember, like originally, what were micro m microtransactions?
- 1:21:12SPEAKER_11: Um, what were microtransactions?
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_11: They were TF2 in TF2 and they were stop scratching your own.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_11: That's so annoying.
- 1:21:18SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:21:19SPEAKER_11: They were in Team Fortress 2 and it was hats.
- 1:21:21SPEAKER_11: And remember how much they were?
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_11: 10p.
- 1:21:23SPEAKER_11: They were like literal microtransactions.
- 1:21:25SPEAKER_11: They sold you cosmetic shit for tiny transact tiny insignificant amounts of money that would then ramp up.
- 1:21:31SPEAKER_11: You can still go on uh although it's not quite as good as it used to be, go on CS2 or Dota 2 and buy some pretty cool looking items for uh next to nothing, right?
- 1:21:41SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's it's less good on CS2 now because that market has become a bit fucked.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_11: But like Dota 2, you could buy a cool, cool thing for your character for a small amount of money.
- 1:21:50SPEAKER_11: I love cosmetics, I love dressing up in games and I love making cool outfits for characters, but I like individuality, so I'm sort of drawn to that.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_08: I mean, everyone does really.
- 1:22:00SPEAKER_08: They don't I mean, if you're playing an online game, you want to look different from other people and you want to like show off show it off to your mates and that.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:22:09SPEAKER_11: And it and like it keep money aside, um, it's some of the my favourite parts in video games is customisation.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_08: Also, uh back in the day, unlocking um like stuff like that, like in DOA unlocking all the costumes and that.
- 1:22:24SPEAKER_11: Yeah, what what all of them, yeah?
- 1:22:26SPEAKER_11: Like In Dead or Alive, which which ones were you unlocking there?
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_11: Like four.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_11: What would it was the costume six on each character for Zach?
- 1:22:33SPEAKER_08: Funnily enough, like the costume that came to my head was uh Zach as a teletubby, but you know Yeah, actually that was a good one.
- 1:22:39SPEAKER_08: Because I mean I I I was a bash main, so I wasn't really I wasn't really gooning or anything, I was just like just playing the game.
- 1:22:45SPEAKER_08: Okay, well fair enough.
- 1:22:46SPEAKER_11: Zach as a telly tubby is one of the greatest fighting game costumes ever.
- 1:22:50SPEAKER_11: Um yes, and I miss unlocking that shit in the game and just seeing what weird shit would come next.
- 1:22:55SPEAKER_11: But you know, nowadays I think cosmetics, the big trouble with them is they become too expensive.
- 1:23:00SPEAKER_11: You know, like I bought our outfits on Final Fantasy 14 all the time with real money because I'm a fucking loser.
- 1:23:06SPEAKER_11: But um, some of them are cool though.
- 1:23:08SPEAKER_11: I really like them, and and I I used to often this is so pathetic.
- 1:23:12SPEAKER_11: Well, this is how much I like them, right?
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_11: Is that uh every time I would get to a new part of the story, I would give my character a makeover and give her a new look, and so I'd have a new haircut, I'd have new makeup and new clothes, and then that would be sort of like she's in a new era of her personality or some shit like this.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_11: Sounds it's dumb, but it it helps me to get into the world a bit more because it's I had sort of an idea of what my character wanted to look like.
- 1:23:36SPEAKER_08: I wanted my character look to look like in the end, and I kept like iterating on it.
- 1:23:41SPEAKER_11: Like the the best armour in the game, I didn't I preferred the look of a previous one and just kept that like yeah, because you can do the glamour stuff in that where you can just change your piece of armour to look like another one, and I did that shit all the time, like and then I remember one of my favourite times was when uh you Sean just picked this really fucking cool outfit, he'd gone to the auction house, got this really nice outfit, and then there was a piece of armour you that was so good that you couldn't not wear it, and it looked like your character was wearing oven mitts.
- 1:24:11SPEAKER_11: Do you remember that?
- 1:24:12SPEAKER_11: I took a screenshot of it.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_11: Sean did the crying emote, and it was actually raining at the time, and then you could see my character in the background pointing and laughing at him.
- 1:24:19SPEAKER_11: And I had this really fucking cool um sort of goth type situation going on.
- 1:24:24SPEAKER_11: It was a Magitech hoodie that I had.
- 1:24:26SPEAKER_11: It's fucking weird, but yeah, I love them.
- 1:24:29SPEAKER_11: I just think it's a shame that they're too expensive.
- 1:24:31SPEAKER_11: Like, um I mean, even look at the 2x KO, like where they were charging 100 quid for some skins, stuff on CS2 is way too expensive.
- 1:24:41SPEAKER_11: If that shit's affordable, uh people want to buy it.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:24:45SPEAKER_11: And I'll buy a lot of it if it's affordable, right?
- 1:24:47SPEAKER_11: Like I have trouble on say Rainbow Six Siege spending eight quid on a skin, but if you had sold me eight one pound skins, I'd probably buy them.
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_08: Well, that's why battle passes are like quite handy, I guess.
- 1:25:00SPEAKER_11: But then they're also just another way to keep you on the game, and they're a bit more cynically motivated than just let me buy clothes for my fucking character, that's all they want to do.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah, I know, I know what you mean.
- 1:25:09SPEAKER_08: I know what you mean.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_08: But if I like if I look um don't like the price prices in certain games, uh that's a good way to get cosmetics, I think.
- 1:25:18SPEAKER_08: Just get back one battle pass.
- 1:25:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and then if you if it's got something on there that you like, it gives you goals to work towards, but also you've got like you unlock the skin that you want.
- 1:25:28SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:29SPEAKER_08: No, I get you.
- 1:25:29SPEAKER_08: I'll just dip in and out because you and I used to like play Siege a lot, so we used to like check up coming battle passes and just decide if we wanted them and stuff.
- 1:25:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah, like for for the time that you're playing, you'll grab one.
- 1:25:42SPEAKER_11: Um, and I'm f I'm perfectly okay with things like battle passes in free games because I think it's a good way to monetize it and it does give you something to work towards.
- 1:25:50SPEAKER_11: But um, I just think the the the economy around skins has become absolutely ridiculous and actually out of order.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_11: And I hear, you know, somebody at uni spent 50 quid on a snife skin in Valorant, right?
- 1:26:02SPEAKER_11: And I was just like, why would you ever do that?
- 1:26:03SPEAKER_11: And people make excuses for it, like, well, there's no resale market like there is on CS2s, so they have to charge more.
- 1:26:09SPEAKER_11: No, they fucking don't.
- 1:26:10SPEAKER_08: No, they don't for extra.
- 1:26:11SPEAKER_11: I don't think any skin should be over a pound.
- 1:26:14SPEAKER_11: Because I think we we come from a generation where you never had to pay for that shit, where horse armor was a joke, and now people are like, Yep, horse armour for eight quid, yes, please.
- 1:26:22SPEAKER_08: Imagine how easy it is to generate on Valorant as well.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I can't imagine those models take that long.
- 1:26:28SPEAKER_11: Some of them are very nice, but they're but 50 quid there cannot be a knife skin that is worth 50 quid.
- 1:26:34SPEAKER_11: There just cannot be.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_11: Nah.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_11: But I I I like the the really nice.
- 1:26:39SPEAKER_11: I mean, the most I've ever spent, and this is embarrassing, but the most I ever spent was 30 quid on a League of Legends skin, but it's now so unbelievably sought after.
- 1:26:48SPEAKER_11: It's the DJ Sona skin.
- 1:26:50SPEAKER_11: But what was cool about it is it's changed all your spell effects, and you could change the music in the game so you could DJ for your other players, which is cool, but it's still not worth 30 quid, is it?
- 1:26:59SPEAKER_11: I don't know why I spent that money on that, to be honest with you.
- 1:27:01SPEAKER_11: I mean, I've spent a lot of money on um Brawl Hallow skins, but um the one that's the worst one, because the it's because that game has the worst look, style of any game ever made.
- 1:27:12SPEAKER_08: I don't know, it looks great, I think.
- 1:27:13SPEAKER_08: It does not look great anyway.
- 1:27:15SPEAKER_08: Certain parts of it don't, but it looks bad.
- 1:27:17SPEAKER_08: The animation's excellent.
- 1:27:19SPEAKER_08: The whole game the game looks good, but then certain character models are a bit shit, so it's like well, like you buy a skin for like ones you don't like and stuff.
- 1:27:28SPEAKER_08: Like I had uh Princess Bubblegum skin for Lord Frax because I didn't really like Lord Frax.
- 1:27:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah, see that's one of the things is like I I'm I'm obsessed with playing characters that like I wanna if I'm looking at the back half of a man for 50 hours, I want it to look nice, right?
- 1:27:44SPEAKER_11: And I want it to look like something I vibe with, you know what I mean?
- 1:27:47SPEAKER_11: But then like you but skins are very handy for changing the look of a character you think otherwise looks a bit shit, right?
- 1:27:54SPEAKER_11: And and that's that's kind of what I like about them.
- 1:27:57SPEAKER_11: Like, I I think that some of the armor in Final Fantasy 14 is so Goofy, but when you stick a cool outfit on your character, like I remember I had I had a machinist, they're like the gun class in the game, and I made that really cool ass Mad Max outfit.
- 1:28:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that was kind of um yeah, we so we love cosmetics basically.
- 1:28:12SPEAKER_08: I do regret one one purchase I do really regret Master Chief in Rainbow Six Siege.
- 1:28:18SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I spent 16 quid on that one, so it could be worse, and it was a nice skin, it's just that it's a first person game, you don't see the skin.
- 1:28:28SPEAKER_08: I just don't yeah, I don't see it.
- 1:28:29SPEAKER_08: So I would like to ins incidentally incur skins in that game, but to buy it out right by one.
- 1:28:35SPEAKER_08: I've realised I don't want to no, no.
- 1:28:37SPEAKER_11: Um thank you very much.
- 1:28:38SPEAKER_11: That was a good question.
- 1:28:39SPEAKER_11: Um let's get on to the outro.
- 1:28:42SPEAKER_06: Our main story tonight would you like some coke with that?
- 1:28:45SPEAKER_06: The takeaway in Bristol where cocaine was hidden underneath the bacon butties and burger buns.
- 1:28:52SPEAKER_11: Wa nah, I never knew that.
- 1:28:55SPEAKER_11: I never knew that.
- 1:28:57SPEAKER_11: So if you want to contact us, luckyandwildpodcast at gmail.com, like that guy that sent us a very hurtful email, um, Discord, that's in the description.
- 1:29:05SPEAKER_11: Go there and uh join.
- 1:29:07SPEAKER_11: There's a lot of cool people on there.
- 1:29:08SPEAKER_11: And uh of course we've got the Patreon.
- 1:29:10SPEAKER_11: Please donate on Patreon.
- 1:29:12SPEAKER_11: Please.
- 1:29:14SPEAKER_11: That's right.
- 1:29:14SPEAKER_11: It is a great please.
- 1:29:16SPEAKER_08: No, but like do just uh please.
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_08: You know, we want to go to that Ferry convention.
- 1:29:21SPEAKER_08: No, but we We do.
- 1:29:22SPEAKER_08: No, but part of the reason we you know started the Patreon was to sort of take in these not to lose money.
- 1:29:29SPEAKER_08: Well that too, but to like take in these experiences, like games you'd want us to play, uh events you'd want us to be at, or have you considered maybe that nobody wants us to do anything?
- 1:29:40SPEAKER_11: Uh they do, they do.
- 1:29:41SPEAKER_11: It's just like they're just on the fence.
- 1:29:44SPEAKER_11: You're on that fence, hop off ladies, hop off the fence, hop off.
- 1:29:49SPEAKER_11: Get a bit get a bit of money.
- 1:29:50SPEAKER_11: Throw us a hot potato.
- 1:29:51SPEAKER_11: Now, Brett, uh kill defences.
- 1:29:53SPEAKER_11: You're out there, I know you've got that medical bill, right?
- 1:29:56SPEAKER_11: But don't worry about it.
- 1:29:57SPEAKER_11: Send us the money instead because here's what's gonna happen.
- 1:30:00SPEAKER_11: With that, we're gonna raise a lot of fun for you, aren't we?
- 1:30:03SPEAKER_08: You know what I like?
- 1:30:04SPEAKER_08: I think I'm deciding to think this is all employed, so he doesn't have to give us Patreon money to be honest.
- 1:30:08SPEAKER_11: He was never in hospital at all.
- 1:30:10SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:30:10SPEAKER_11: Pay up, all right?
- 1:30:12SPEAKER_11: You fucking freeloader.
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_08: Actually, don't cough up, cough up, we'll get better soon.
- 1:30:16SPEAKER_11: Don't cough.
- 1:30:17SPEAKER_11: Brilliant, that was a good joke, man.
- 1:30:18SPEAKER_11: That was actually a good joke.
- 1:30:20SPEAKER_11: Right, let's do the sound test.
- 1:30:32SPEAKER_11: Alright, so this is the portion of the podcast where we pick a song to play us out of the podcast.
- 1:30:38SPEAKER_08: Alright, is it your turn this time?
- 1:30:40SPEAKER_08: Yes, it is.
- 1:30:41SPEAKER_08: Oh, thank god.
- 1:30:42SPEAKER_11: And I've remembered.
- 1:30:43SPEAKER_11: So, and I've got some music for you.
- 1:30:45SPEAKER_11: So um the song I've chosen this time is going to be Unreal 2 music by Purple Motion, a future crew.
- 1:30:53SPEAKER_11: Now if you don't excited, now if you don't know what that is, um probably my favourite music, sh not my favourite, one of my favorites, is uh key gen music.
- 1:31:04SPEAKER_11: For those that don't know, um it w back in the day, and I think it still happens now, when you pirated a game, um there would be different groups of hackers working to crack games and get them to an easily piratable state.
- 1:31:17SPEAKER_11: Um the quickest.
- 1:31:18SPEAKER_11: People can hacker groups would compete to unlock certain games quicker than the other.
- 1:31:23SPEAKER_11: Um but the other thing they would compete over is um the music.
- 1:31:28SPEAKER_11: Now what it is is the the you would have to run a program called a crack, and when you run that, it would have its own music on it, but so that it didn't take up too much uh of your computer's resources, they would use mod trackers, which are very low on uh not resource intensive and were the same type of music software that Amiga Commodore 64 used and things like this.
- 1:31:50SPEAKER_11: So what they would do is they'd make these really fucking cool tunes with very, very difficult to use software so that not only could they get the hack out there quicker than anyone else, but they had a banging tune playing while the thing was cracking the app on your computer.
- 1:32:04SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:32:05SPEAKER_11: And um, this is just one of my favourite ones.
- 1:32:06SPEAKER_11: I don't know what crack it was ever used on.
- 1:32:09SPEAKER_11: The song is called Unreal 2, but I don't think there is a game called Unreal 2, so uh I don't know.
- 1:32:14SPEAKER_11: But it was used on on something, a game when you cracked it.
- 1:32:18SPEAKER_11: Um, and yeah, this is Unreal 2 by Purple Motion, who belonged to the hacker group Future Crew.
- 1:32:24SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and um, just to let you know, this song was made when he was 16 years old, and it is a fucking banger.
- 1:32:30SPEAKER_11: Uh, here it is.
- 1:32:31SPEAKER_11: This is Unreal 2.
- 1:32:32SPEAKER_11: I've been Harrison Hunt.
- 1:32:33SPEAKER_11: And I've been Sean Hunt.
- 1:32:35SPEAKER_11: And remember that we don't know what we're talking about, but neither do you.
- 1:38:41SPEAKER_11: Oh, shit, yeah, we've got adds to Right, so um as we spoke about earlier, one of the big things about Big Walk is uh is wait, basically you go around the island and have to pick up these little gourds, right?
- 1:38:54SPEAKER_11: And you have to place the gourds at the top of four towers to unlock a final black tower, which then you have to place six gourds into.
- 1:39:02SPEAKER_11: So I don't know what the total is, but um yeah, like it's like five times four five times four, then six, so twenty-six is the total you need to just get the basic completion of the game.
- 1:39:17SPEAKER_11: Um and I thought I I thought that the the game had like an incredible amount of atmosphere, especially at night as well, but it did seem like it was uh a bit of a roadblock and an annoyance.
- 1:39:30SPEAKER_11: Um but out of all of the puzzles in the game, do you have like a favourite that you really like?
- 1:39:34SPEAKER_11: Do you have a favourite moment in the game?
- 1:39:37SPEAKER_08: Um Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
- 1:39:39SPEAKER_08: I mean like the whole experience for me was like really good.
- 1:39:42SPEAKER_08: But it's like again, like the first the first bit of Discovery was really good.
- 1:39:48SPEAKER_11: I mean, I think Because we came out, we didn't even know about the collecting of gourds.
- 1:39:52SPEAKER_11: No, no, no.
- 1:39:53SPEAKER_11: One of the funny things is that the all of the big structures in the game uh don't have realistic graphics.
- 1:40:00SPEAKER_11: Sort of parts of the game do, right?
- 1:40:02SPEAKER_11: But then the big structures like the towers you have to go up don't have realistic graphics.
- 1:40:05SPEAKER_11: They're just they're not even textured, they're just a flat colour.
- 1:40:08SPEAKER_11: So we be we were collecting these gourds, we went up to the fucking red tower, and we just looked in, we just thought it was a little repository with a flashlight and the item scanner in it.
- 1:40:18SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we did it.
- 1:40:19SPEAKER_11: Then I we went for a break just sitting there, like I don't know why we're collecting these gourds, what they're for.
- 1:40:24SPEAKER_11: We went for a little break, like having collected like six and just put them in our base not knowing what to do with them.
- 1:40:29SPEAKER_11: And then we sort of um I was just fucking around in the tower and and I thought, oh shit, like I didn't see the stairs because they're textureless.
- 1:40:38SPEAKER_11: It just to me looked like a flat red wall, and only then I realized, oh, there are stairs going up.
- 1:40:42SPEAKER_11: Oh, this is what this is the objective of the game.
- 1:40:44SPEAKER_08: So we're gonna we saw we first saw we went up uh there's some stairs going to the next part of the game and we saw a keyhole, and then once we realised we went could go to the top of the tower, we're like, oh shit, here's the key.
- 1:40:58SPEAKER_11: Yes, and and what was funny is the first key in the game uh just unlocks the bridge to the next part of the game, right?
- 1:41:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but we didn't even know that the little key cutters point you in the right direction because we just weren't when you cut one of the keys, it does this little compass thing.
- 1:41:12SPEAKER_11: We didn't even realise that the keys like that it pointed you in the next direction.
- 1:41:17SPEAKER_11: So we were just aimlessly searching around for the key cutters, cutting it in the wrong order.
- 1:41:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:41:21SPEAKER_11: And it was only when we did the second one we were like, hang on a minute, this has got a little arrow on it, let's follow that.
- 1:41:26SPEAKER_11: It was uh so we almost missed two very critical things of the game.
- 1:41:30SPEAKER_08: We were we uh we were very annoyed because when the keys happened the second time, we're like, oh, we gotta find all the key things again.
- 1:41:38SPEAKER_08: But it's actually very easy, and then it's also a really good way to show you what you unlock as well.
- 1:41:43SPEAKER_08: Once you finish, it directs you to the thing you've got to unlock.
- 1:41:46SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it was quite clever actually.
- 1:41:48SPEAKER_08: And unlocking unlocking stuff felt really good in the game, like almost like an old school type of thing, like unlocking parts of the world, unlocking modes of travel, so you unlock uh ski lift, and then you unlock a train and then the tunnel.
- 1:42:03SPEAKER_11: But there's there's four, right?
- 1:42:04SPEAKER_11: So what it was the train, the tunnels, the ski lift, and in one of them I remember being underwhelming, but I can't remember what the fuck it was.
- 1:42:14SPEAKER_11: Tunnel, ski lift, I don't know.
- 1:42:16SPEAKER_11: Well but I'll probably remember in a bit, but um You're right, like there was no thing in the game that was just like, oh, you've unlocked shit, let's here's a new ability and and stuff like this.
- 1:42:25SPEAKER_11: It was just like here's a reward to get more out of this fucking game.
- 1:42:29SPEAKER_11: Oh, the map was the other one, wasn't it?
- 1:42:31SPEAKER_08: That was really good.
- 1:42:32SPEAKER_08: That was the second one.
- 1:42:34SPEAKER_11: It was the first one.
- 1:42:35SPEAKER_11: But we we felt underwhelmed by it originally because we were just finding puzzles left, right, and centre.
- 1:42:40SPEAKER_11: But once you've hoovered them all up, a bit like a collect a thon platformer, you you start needing to use the map.
- 1:42:47SPEAKER_11: And we were like memorizing little routes to the next thing that we needed to go to, and uh like saying, right, if we go down to this beach, I can see there's four here that we haven't got, and we go there and do them.
- 1:42:58SPEAKER_11: Um yeah, I mean it it it was like I just thought incredible fun from start to finish.
- 1:43:04SPEAKER_11: Those unlocks were just sort of they had a bit of majesty, a bit of wonder to them.
- 1:43:08SPEAKER_11: Um and unlike because it does people have thought that it's friendslot, but unlike friendslot, I didn't feel like it had any real frustration apart from one session that we played where everything went wrong.
- 1:43:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but that was bad that was just bad luck.
- 1:43:22SPEAKER_08: But um yeah, I mean, you're gonna get that from time to time, to be honest.
- 1:43:26SPEAKER_08: I mean, it's like it's not the easiest game.
- 1:43:29SPEAKER_08: You have to concentrate.
- 1:43:31SPEAKER_11: It's like you have to pay careful attention to routing, and when you're collecting the gourds before you have a backpack or you can just put it on, it's difficult because when you f take a fall from a from a height, and it will happen often when you're especially when you're walking in the dark, you'll drop whatever's in your hand, right?
- 1:43:47SPEAKER_08: You can occasionally glitch it, so if you hold back, you'll sort of walk in place while you're going down the cliff to save that.
- 1:43:54SPEAKER_08: So you can't do it all the time.
- 1:43:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, so like but when you've got the backpack, that that makes things a lot easier, and then we had the hip pouch as well.
- 1:44:02SPEAKER_11: The only my my only criticism of of the game is that the equipment seems useless.
- 1:44:08SPEAKER_11: And it's not entirely useless because they they did come in handy a couple of times.
- 1:44:12SPEAKER_11: Like you'll see these big structures, and usually one um big structure will be uh it'll be a puzzle, right?
- 1:44:21SPEAKER_11: But then you get to learn the visual language of the game, you know one of those spirally things is gonna be a backpack, right?
- 1:44:26SPEAKER_11: One of those big donut-shaped rooms is gonna be some gear inside.
- 1:44:31SPEAKER_11: But we were just really good at communicating to the point where we actually didn't need the gear that often.
- 1:44:37SPEAKER_11: There was one point where we got separated and you were sending up flares.
- 1:44:41SPEAKER_08: I imagine it allows for people who like don't have like that much of an understanding of the other person, you know, like if you if you Yeah, you know, like if we were able to sign stuff to each other, but uh there's probably people that can't do that, you know.
- 1:44:57SPEAKER_11: Or like the people that that aren't as have good synergy or people that aren't good at communicating, taking the radios with you.
- 1:45:04SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but like we we didn't need them that often, but there was one quite um atmospheric moment, like we would never actually take gear with us because it became a burden, especially when you were like, But if I pick up a gourd, I'm gonna lose the fucking gear, so let's just not bring it with us.
- 1:45:19SPEAKER_11: But if we found one on the way to a place, we'd use it, right?
- 1:45:22SPEAKER_11: And there was a very atmospheric moment where Sean was he was on this really far away binocular thing.
- 1:45:27SPEAKER_11: I had to fuck off somewhere really far away and press a button.
- 1:45:31SPEAKER_11: I brought one of the torches with me, but I lost it when after I took a fall, right?
- 1:45:36SPEAKER_11: Um and I could still see it, but it went into the sea.
- 1:45:38SPEAKER_11: And then just somehow, I don't know how Sean Sean knew this, but you you realised that I was lost because I was taken a while.
- 1:45:47SPEAKER_11: And so Sean had the flare gun that we usually wouldn't use and was just firing it into the air, and it was a really cool atmospheric moment because you know there's that bit near the beach where there's that really tall grass and those mountains, and I was going round the beach trying to navigate my way back to you, but I could only see whenever the flares went up, and it was lighting up where I was, and it was just the lighting in the game was so excellent that I had this really cool moment of like, okay, I'm following where that flare came from, and every time one goes up, it's actually guiding me through, like allowing me to see for a few seconds at a time.
- 1:46:18SPEAKER_08: Well, I noticed that um the lamp was floating in the sea, so I thought you might be in trouble.
- 1:46:23SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, that must have been yeah, yeah, that was it.
- 1:46:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, it's pretty funny.
- 1:46:27SPEAKER_11: Um and I also thought like uh the whole ending of the game was absolutely excellent.
- 1:46:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it was good, it was good.
- 1:46:36SPEAKER_11: I mean uh the m the funniest part is that there's there's a part in the Black Tower.
- 1:46:40SPEAKER_11: When you first get to the Black Tower, which is the last tower in the game, um only one player will have a vision.
- 1:46:47SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:46:48SPEAKER_11: And I've seen stories of people online saying that their friends didn't believe them or uh like like that something was happening.
- 1:46:54SPEAKER_11: Some people online were saying that um they thought that everyone could see the scene, so they just went quiet.
- 1:47:00SPEAKER_11: So all everyone saw was their the the guy's character like just standing still, his eyes kind of weird.
- 1:47:06SPEAKER_11: But you get this vision that effectively tells you here's where to go after you complete the Black Tower.
- 1:47:11SPEAKER_11: But describe the vision, what was it like?
- 1:47:14SPEAKER_08: Uh well it's like really trippy because um at certain points um you'd sort of see uh like your you sort of see your sort of dark companion um and he'd be standing still and then glaring at you and then you'd look into his eye and then like be complete darkness and then go into another scene where you'd like your your sort of companion is in like a flower field and like all these weird angles and stuff.
- 1:47:40SPEAKER_11: It's sort of like was it like a Kubrick movie?
- 1:47:42SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it was a bit like a Kubrick movie.
- 1:47:44SPEAKER_11: But then you see like the eye is trying to signify to you to go to the big black orb, which you've kind of seen throughout the entire game, but when you get the final key, that's when you unlock it.
- 1:47:52SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and what was cool is the the the final stretch of the game, like because I wouldn't say the game is necessarily just about walking, it's about exploring and puzzling.
- 1:48:01SPEAKER_11: But the very last thing you do to before you get to the black uh the the big orb is a big walk.
- 1:48:07SPEAKER_11: Yeah, you do a big walk, and then when you get inside there, the whole thing is like you do puzzles much in the similar manner that you've already done, but A, your colour is obscured, so you don't know who anyone is, which kind of loses its master when it's you're playing with just two people, but B, you cannot talk anymore.
- 1:48:24SPEAKER_11: The the orb absorbs all sound, so you kind of have to um communicate, and there are new situations that you have to communicate only by using your character's little arms to point and gesture.
- 1:48:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and there was a point where like we had to figure out this sequence of things, but I could only see the tiles that Sean was holding up, the symbols on them, if he held them up to a telescope that I was looking through.
- 1:48:45SPEAKER_11: So I had to communicate to him which ones were right and which ones weren't.
- 1:48:48SPEAKER_11: And on previous like um puzzles, we'd come up with a little communication system before we went in.
- 1:48:53SPEAKER_11: We'd be like, raise your arm three times if yes, or raise your arm uh uh three times if it's on the third one or whatever, right?
- 1:49:01SPEAKER_11: And then we got to the end and we had to come up with communication systems without ever talking to each other, which I thought was excellent, but and so fucking atmospheric.
- 1:49:09SPEAKER_11: And then you get like brand new challenges that you're suddenly supposed to navigate without being able to speak, and probably some of the best puzzles in the game are in that that final bit.
- 1:49:19SPEAKER_08: Also, like one of my favourite puzzles probably in the game is um trying to like throw like a cube up a up a tower.
- 1:49:27SPEAKER_11: That was great, man.
- 1:49:28SPEAKER_11: It was sort of a platforming, like you'd throw it up, the the next guy would catch it, then the other guy would have to run up and you'd have to keep throwing it up and up and up.
- 1:49:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that was a really good one.
- 1:49:37SPEAKER_08: But some of the worst ones were there was one there was one where you uh had to light up a certain amount of lights, but we never really got the actual logic of that puzzle.
- 1:49:51SPEAKER_11: With the one with the kettles.
- 1:49:52SPEAKER_08: No, no, that was rough as well, but there's one where like there was just like loads of lights together.
- 1:49:58SPEAKER_11: Oh mate, that that that That was absolutely there's two puzzles in the game I didn't like.
- 1:50:03SPEAKER_11: Um I I won't go into the kettles one, but that was ridiculous.
- 1:50:06SPEAKER_11: There's a there actually I will very briefly there's a wall of things with different lights on.
- 1:50:12SPEAKER_11: It's got like a pattern to it, but one player can go uh can see which lights the other player has to light up and then try to communicate that by leaving kettles in a room.
- 1:50:21SPEAKER_11: But they but there's nothing in that room that sort of syncs up with the shapes on the wall.
- 1:50:25SPEAKER_11: So how you f how the fuck are you meant to communicate that?
- 1:50:28SPEAKER_11: But the other one you're you're talking about was the um the sound one, right?
- 1:50:33SPEAKER_11: And what it is is that you you they you have to light up there's about 30 to 40 lights, you have to go in and light you light only the correct ones up, and if you light one of the wrong ones up, the puzzle resets, right?
- 1:50:45SPEAKER_11: And there's a trick to it.
- 1:50:46SPEAKER_11: You can um go up to them and listen to them and they emit a certain sound.
- 1:50:50SPEAKER_11: But the trouble is is every time you light one up, it makes a louder sound.
- 1:50:54SPEAKER_11: So it makes it harder to listen to the other ones.
- 1:50:57SPEAKER_11: And once you get to so you would frequently get to about 37 out of 40 and then go, I cannot actually hear anything anymore.
- 1:51:05SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you'd it's like in the end, it's light based.
- 1:51:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah, like we had to memorize most of it, uh and and you know, in fact, pretty much our solution was to memorize all of it, but the few items we could carry on ourselves we put near ones we knew were positive, right?
- 1:51:21SPEAKER_11: And then the another one that I actually really loved, but I think could be fall short of like uh bad equipment was the sound one.
- 1:51:30SPEAKER_11: Do you remember?
- 1:51:30SPEAKER_11: Because obviously um my whole thing is yeah, there's a lot, but the um it's the one where you had to listen for clear, um very centered audio.
- 1:51:39SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, that was good.
- 1:51:40SPEAKER_11: So sure it's basically one guy sits in a chair with headphones on, and then there's five different microphones, and you have to press buttons underneath the microphones in a certain order, right?
- 1:51:49SPEAKER_11: So Sean would go up and go test into the mic, and then I had to listen to it if the audio was perfectly centered.
- 1:51:55SPEAKER_11: Now I would say that the the audio quality was low on the microphones, and as a result, unless you got a cracking pair of headphones, you're not gonna hear it.
- 1:52:05SPEAKER_11: Because we tried it several times, and we like we can't figure out what we're supposed to be doing.
- 1:52:08SPEAKER_11: And then I put my decent headphones in that I use for um audio production, and I was like, okay, I get this.
- 1:52:15SPEAKER_11: Because I immediately you've spoken to one of them was like, okay, that's centered, right, and then you would just go along and test each one.
- 1:52:20SPEAKER_11: And I think that one could be hard if you're playing out of your speakers.
- 1:52:24SPEAKER_11: It could also be hard if you've got shit headphones, and you might not know what you're doing is wrong.
- 1:52:30SPEAKER_08: It's one of those sort of games though where things could be easy or hard for anyone, you know, like Yeah, you're you're quite right.
- 1:52:37SPEAKER_11: I mean, you you're quite right.
- 1:52:38SPEAKER_11: It depends on uh the way that you think.
- 1:52:41SPEAKER_08: Like your group's abilities or your own.
- 1:52:43SPEAKER_11: But I think mostly like the puzzles were pitched perfectly.
- 1:52:46SPEAKER_11: Like there weren't any that were hyper confusing.
- 1:52:49SPEAKER_11: No, no, it wasn't.
- 1:52:50SPEAKER_11: Um eventually you would get them.
- 1:52:52SPEAKER_11: And if you've got a team with like a bit more of a diverse skill set or that you have really good synergy, you're often one of the team's gonna come up with a solution, right?
- 1:53:02SPEAKER_11: And we we didn't do badly really with any of them.
- 1:53:05SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:53:05SPEAKER_11: And I liked that occasionally they chuck in a platforming puzzle.
- 1:53:08SPEAKER_11: Or right at the end when we had to just scoop up any ones that we could find to try and get to the last tower, we there's one we left out for ages that was just a basketball one.
- 1:53:17SPEAKER_11: You just had to get several dunks in a row, and like the fact that that was one of the last ones that we did was so joyous because it was like, yes, we got a fucking like easy one, we know the solution, let's just dunk lights into this.
- 1:53:28SPEAKER_08: That was literally one of the first ones we came across where we didn't at the beginning like we didn't know how to solve it, we didn't know what to make of it.
- 1:53:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and then just we we were like, well, we have to get up there, maybe.
- 1:53:38SPEAKER_11: Maybe there's an ability we don't have, and then we just fucked off.
- 1:53:40SPEAKER_11: And right at the end of the game we came back across it and we were like, that might be the easiest puzzle in the game.
- 1:53:45SPEAKER_11: And we've we've accidentally saved it for last.
- 1:53:48SPEAKER_11: Um I also liked the uh it wasn't a big deal, but like there's little radios and you can collect songs that you can play on them.
- 1:53:55SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, that was cool.
- 1:53:56SPEAKER_11: And the final secret song is like was so cool.
- 1:54:00SPEAKER_11: Like, because you because you just find this little rave, like underground rave, with it in there, and you can control the lights and stuff.
- 1:54:05SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's actually a banger.
- 1:54:07SPEAKER_08: A lot of all the older songs weren't like particularly like amazing, but that one was a lot of it.
- 1:54:11SPEAKER_11: That one was good, yeah.
- 1:54:13SPEAKER_08: Um it was nice to hear them though, and like to find them, that was cool.
- 1:54:17SPEAKER_11: But you know, the the the part that really got me and like had quite a profound effect on me in terms of like just the atmosphere, the great time.
- 1:54:25SPEAKER_11: But you know when you're just you're coming to the end of something you know has been a really a really nice type.
- 1:54:30SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah and like right at the end, you know, basically to to exit the game, there's a turnstile, and only one character can go through at the time, and they just walk into a white light, fade away, and you can't hear them anymore, right?
- 1:54:41SPEAKER_11: And Sean went through and I was like, No, no, I want to go with you, I wanna go with you, man.
- 1:54:45SPEAKER_11: And he was like, now I've got a I've I've got to go, I'll see what's in there, I'll come back out and I'll see.
- 1:54:49SPEAKER_11: And then I just see Sean disappear, and suddenly I'm on my own, and I'm in the realization that the best one of the best times I've had all year is over.
- 1:54:57SPEAKER_08: Um Yeah, I'll just um I'll try to come back out, but then it just faded to black, and that was it really, and the game ended.
- 1:55:04SPEAKER_11: But do you know, um right before you go in there, there's a little sign, and now throughout the game you can press the little triggers to raise your arms up, right?
- 1:55:11SPEAKER_11: And right at the end it says to press one of the triggers to wave goodbye.
- 1:55:15SPEAKER_11: And we turn around and wave goodbye to the island, but then Sean went through the turnstile, and I realised it was telling you to wave goodbye to your companions that you played the game with.
- 1:55:24SPEAKER_11: Um yeah, absolutely excellent game, perfectly pitched, great puzzles, and a great hangout game too.
- 1:55:31SPEAKER_11: One of the best card games, I think.
- 1:55:33SPEAKER_11: I th I think so too.
- 1:55:34SPEAKER_11: I mean it was it was absolutely brilliant, and I don't usually like puzzles in games, but these were fun.
- 1:55:38SPEAKER_08: Yeah, they were.
- 1:55:39SPEAKER_11: Um but um yes, I think what one of the things that it does very well, just as a very final point, is that travelling around the island takes a long time, but somehow doesn't it very rarely feels like a slog.
- 1:55:52SPEAKER_11: I I think there were points where you've had enough and you're going, we play for two hours, let's log off, it's fine.
- 1:55:58SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I mean, yeah, that was it really, to be honest.
- 1:56:01SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:56:01SPEAKER_11: If you played it for six hours, it would be a slog.
- 1:56:03SPEAKER_08: It's quite taxing, but it's like in a good way.
- 1:56:06SPEAKER_11: In a good way.
- 1:56:07SPEAKER_11: Like play it in two hour bursts.
- 1:56:09SPEAKER_11: And uh but like, say for example, when we unlock the train, just being able to just we know we've got ages until our next stop, let's just sit around uh and and just just chat about shit for a while.
- 1:56:20SPEAKER_11: It's a good social game in a way that Peak isn't, because Peak, if you want to do well in it, you've actually got to concentrate.
- 1:56:25SPEAKER_11: Whereas this is sort of like this it's got bits where you're chatting to each other, bits where you're focusing on puzzles, and even like the one that that one puzzle where you just have to go into a room and sit down for five minutes, it's just they've even got comfy chairs in there, a nice view out the window, and you're like, Oh, they've just given us a moment just to have a chat.
- 1:56:42SPEAKER_11: That's cool.
- 1:56:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah, loved it, absolutely loved it.
- 1:56:45SPEAKER_11: Um that that was a big walk spoiler chat.
- 1:56:48SPEAKER_11: Um if you out there uh have played it, I'd like you to send in any stories that happen to you.
- 1:56:55SPEAKER_11: Like like the one that we had with um not knowing the objective of the game because of the graphics for a while, like things like that.
- 1:57:02SPEAKER_11: If you've got any weird stories about shit that's happened, I know the ghost has been playing it, and they said that they uh one of their team keeps kicking the gourds off cliffs because they think it's funny.
- 1:57:11SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 1:57:12SPEAKER_11: That would actually piss me off.
- 1:57:14SPEAKER_11: No, it's it's not a friend slot game where you dick around, it's a puzzle game.
- 1:57:18SPEAKER_11: How would you find them?
- 1:57:19SPEAKER_11: Well what you'd have to pick up an item scanner and go roughly to the area, wouldn't you?
- 1:57:23SPEAKER_11: I mean, that's it.
- 1:57:24SPEAKER_11: Look at there was one time when I lost a gourd.
- 1:57:27SPEAKER_11: And to be fair, they do spawn back in their original location if if you log off and come back on, right?
- 1:57:35SPEAKER_11: All items do.
- 1:57:36SPEAKER_11: And there was one time where I lost a gourd because I was a fucking idiot.
- 1:57:39SPEAKER_11: And it's all the task was that you just have to go around and find these pegs, right?
- 1:57:43SPEAKER_11: You could do it one person, but we were doing it, and then I had a single tiny little peg, and uh I was trying to kick it nearer to where we needed to put them, and I kicked it off a cliff, didn't I?
- 1:57:54SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 1:57:55SPEAKER_11: But it happened to be the one puzzle you could do by yourself, so because it was my fuck up, I went back into the game and did that one by myself.
- 1:58:02SPEAKER_11: Now, what you're supposed to do is you're supposed to have one person with a torch, so you can search for them at night, but um I did it on my own, so I just sat there for about an hour uh waiting for it to come back today, finding them, and then did that puzzle by myself.
- 1:58:14SPEAKER_11: But yeah.
- 1:58:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah, excellent game.
- 1:58:16SPEAKER_11: Send in your stories if you have any funny or interesting shit that happened to you in the game.
- 1:58:21SPEAKER_11: Uh I'd I'd like to hear it.
- 1:58:22SPEAKER_11: Now we've already had an outro song, so what do we do for the outro here?
- 1:58:25SPEAKER_11: Just play it again?
- 1:58:26SPEAKER_08: Uh yeah, just play the same song, I think.
- 1:58:29SPEAKER_08: Any requests?
- 1:58:30SPEAKER_11: Play that same song again.
- 1:58:31SPEAKER_11: Okay, we will.
- 1:58:32SPEAKER_11: Goodbye, everyone.
- 2:01:13unknown: I am not an abonnification.
