- 0:02Speaker 1: That's a lock you.
- 0:03Speaker 2: No, it's to lock you only broby and double lonely
- 0:12Speaker 2: rather be six feet lorly if you had a promus.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Hello and welcome to Altered Corner, the newly born stepchild
- 0:25Speaker 3: of Arkins Corner. This is the one the only co
- 0:31Speaker 3: O H L R A B. I and joining me
- 0:35Speaker 3: today are actually only two misfits. Did we want to
- 0:40Speaker 3: talk about what we did with the other people of
- 0:43Speaker 3: the podcast?
- 0:43Speaker 4: Where are we just going to pretend like they all disappeared?
- 0:47Speaker 1: I think like they never existed, all right.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Talking about it's always just us three.
- 0:52Speaker 4: I created other people in my mind.
- 0:56Speaker 3: So to kick off this week, we're going to have
- 0:59Speaker 3: z tell us about the unique of the week.
- 1:04Speaker 5: Already then, so we're pulling one from one of the
- 1:08Speaker 5: Altered Corner collections here. It's gonna be a unique that
- 1:12Speaker 5: Zach and I own. It is a Hue Milan from Bravos.
- 1:17Speaker 5: It's probably the best unique we have out of all
- 1:20Speaker 5: of the I think we have like eighty of them,
- 1:24Speaker 5: So this is our top one at the moment. It's
- 1:27Speaker 5: a Hue Milan costs for from hand and Reserve already said,
- 1:31Speaker 5: it's a Bravost card, its power block is one four four,
- 1:36Speaker 5: so a little dump at the green, but you're releast
- 1:39Speaker 5: getting on par value with the Manecast for the mountains
- 1:42Speaker 5: in the water. Yep. So it's abilities are if you
- 1:48Speaker 5: control one on the landmark, I lose fleeting when that's
- 1:51Speaker 5: from reserve. Almost a lot of the human milans have
- 1:54Speaker 5: something like that coming from reserve, so that you can
- 1:56Speaker 5: keep playing them over and over and over again. Now
- 1:59Speaker 5: here's what makes it the best card we probably own.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Its special effect is when I leave the expedition zone,
- 2:07Speaker 5: put the top card of your deck in your Mana zone.
- 2:13Speaker 5: What do you think of that? Guys, that's a super ramp.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Yes, you playing this with tiny gin as well?
- 2:21Speaker 5: Yep. I have three tiny Gins and this, I think
- 2:25Speaker 5: right now my record and I don't have Martijin in
- 2:29Speaker 5: my core Coja deck anymore. I just have this card
- 2:32Speaker 5: and three tiny Gins and my current record is like,
- 2:36Speaker 5: as far as discrepancy goes is, I had fourteen Manna
- 2:40Speaker 5: when my opponent had eight, so I was having a
- 2:45Speaker 5: good day. So yeah, like the big thing about these
- 2:51Speaker 5: ramping things. I also have it in a deck that
- 2:53Speaker 5: has three helping hands and three Bravos vanguards, so even
- 2:58Speaker 5: if I don't have a landmark to do its own,
- 3:02Speaker 5: like lose fleeting. I have six cards in my deck
- 3:05Speaker 5: that can also make it lose fleeting in case something
- 3:08Speaker 5: happened to my landmarks or I just didn't find them. Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I really like this because if you are doing
- 3:17Speaker 3: a ramp deck, you probably have tiny gin And one
- 3:19Speaker 3: of the other things a lot of people run is
- 3:23Speaker 3: the Mana channeling, and I actually don't like that card
- 3:28Speaker 3: because I hate spending the Mana to create Mana and
- 3:32Speaker 3: then you don't have a body, So.
- 3:34Speaker 5: This is nobody on the board. No control is coming
- 3:36Speaker 5: out of that. Yeah. So this is just straight up
- 3:38Speaker 5: and like I said, it's a decent body. It's not
- 3:41Speaker 5: a great you are below that one for one threshold
- 3:46Speaker 5: unless you're fighting in the middle lanes where it's just
- 3:48Speaker 5: mountains or water. Specifically, water is one of the fourt
- 3:54Speaker 5: that is actually irrelevant for Bravos because they don't actually
- 3:56Speaker 5: have a lot of waters that are good to play.
- 4:01Speaker 5: So I really do like like the slot and pretty
- 4:03Speaker 5: much any Bravos deck because like I said, my deck's
- 4:06Speaker 5: not trying to ramp, and the the games where I
- 4:10Speaker 5: get this and starting hand, this is definitely one hundred
- 4:13Speaker 5: of the card I play on turn two or day two.
- 4:17Speaker 5: It's it's just some media value.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really good for Bravos as well, because the
- 4:24Speaker 3: tiny Gin you have to have boosted for it to
- 4:27Speaker 3: become Mana, which is why I love it in Tasia
- 4:31Speaker 3: because you just play it the first time, it gets
- 4:33Speaker 3: a boost and then goes straight to Mana.
- 4:35Speaker 5: But I swear every time I play against Fenn, I
- 4:39Speaker 5: play my tiny Gin and then they put a cappella out.
- 4:42Speaker 5: I'm just like, god, damn.
- 4:44Speaker 4: It.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Just can't Yeah, I mean you can't do anything about
- 4:50Speaker 5: that either, Like you gotta play the card like it's yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Whatever, And whenever someone removals my tiny Gin in Tasia,
- 4:58Speaker 3: I'm like, that's fine.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Well that's the cool thing here because like some
- 5:04Speaker 5: people like immediately understand the value and I had like
- 5:07Speaker 5: an enoughness player. I played it from hand and their
- 5:11Speaker 5: response literally the only thing they did that turn was
- 5:14Speaker 5: vanishing Gate, which I still ended up getting because I
- 5:20Speaker 5: had the fire Dog out that turn too, so I
- 5:22Speaker 5: still ended up pushing that turn getting another Manu because
- 5:25Speaker 5: this thing fires no matter what if I play it,
- 5:28Speaker 5: I'm getting another man of Pump period and they turn
- 5:32Speaker 5: skip themselves. So it's like, but even that, like, I
- 5:35Speaker 5: still think they probably did the right thing, because the
- 5:37Speaker 5: games where I play this on my second turn, like
- 5:41Speaker 5: I crush those games. It's like, that's like, that's where
- 5:44Speaker 5: the uniqus, like the A tier Unichs are right, Like,
- 5:46Speaker 5: they're literally game changing cards. And this is probably one
- 5:50Speaker 5: of the first uniques that we've acquired that literally does
- 5:55Speaker 5: change everything that's about to happen just because it exists.
- 6:00Speaker 5: You get in it that you know at any point.
- 6:01Speaker 5: Really the earlier they're better, obviously, though I guess it
- 6:07Speaker 5: is a little sad if you get it super late,
- 6:09Speaker 5: but that can be said about quite a few uniques
- 6:12Speaker 5: as well.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yeah, or just cards in general, but just starts in general.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Late game tiny gen doesn't do shit either, right, Yeah, but.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Like you said, certain uniques kind of changed the game.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I played against Lindaway a couple of days ago, and
- 6:29Speaker 3: when you see a hero like that, you're like, oh,
- 6:31Speaker 3: I got this.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Game in the bag.
- 6:33Speaker 3: But then they had a unique that very like perfectly
- 6:37Speaker 3: supported Lindaway, and I lost that game.
- 6:40Speaker 5: It's like, oh, oh okay, we didn't give it that
- 6:42Speaker 5: much like coverage, But like the the and Jeries event
- 6:46Speaker 5: or whatever it's called. Like, there's the player that had
- 6:49Speaker 5: the three one.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Costs, yeah, jellyfish.
- 6:52Speaker 5: The from hand one cost jellyfish that cycled each other.
- 6:56Speaker 5: All they had to do was find two of the
- 6:58Speaker 5: three and they immediately go into like ten power land
- 7:02Speaker 5: for their ma. So like it's it's just a matter
- 7:05Speaker 5: of you know, getting the right uniques in the right
- 7:08Speaker 5: deck and then finding a way to make them work.
- 7:10Speaker 5: And then, like I said, we only have one out
- 7:12Speaker 5: of three uniqus that are truly like this top level.
- 7:15Speaker 5: But if we if I found two more of these,
- 7:20Speaker 5: like I don't know how that would change the deck,
- 7:22Speaker 5: but I obviously have a lot more mana available to
- 7:25Speaker 5: me to start messing with my curve a little bit,
- 7:27Speaker 5: because I wouldn't need as much like two power or
- 7:30Speaker 5: two man of costs that I have in there right now,
- 7:33Speaker 5: So that would probably make some things playable.
- 7:37Speaker 1: You you said something which is interesting to me about
- 7:42Speaker 1: the you know, the uniques make the deck or whatever,
- 7:44Speaker 1: and I and I think, like that was the whole draw,
- 7:46Speaker 1: like at first, like I know we've talked about this
- 7:48Speaker 1: probably before, but like the whole draw of the cart
- 7:49Speaker 1: of the game itself, like you don't know what somebody like,
- 7:53Speaker 1: you know, okay, you know they're playing Warriors, so they're
- 7:55Speaker 1: gonna have X, Y and Z into their and to
- 7:57Speaker 1: their their deck, or you know, they're playing promos for
- 8:02Speaker 1: you know, X Y and Z either deck. But the
- 8:04Speaker 1: uniques are what make the deck the deck, right, Like
- 8:07Speaker 1: it's those special unknown things like that pops up and
- 8:10Speaker 1: it's like, oh okay, I so you're just gonna ramp now,
- 8:13Speaker 1: and like there's there's only so much you can do
- 8:15Speaker 1: about it.
- 8:16Speaker 3: So yep, yeah, there there's a growing group of people
- 8:21Speaker 3: that want some competitive level to have uniques banned.
- 8:29Speaker 4: But I I don't know.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I I like seeing them, even if it's on the
- 8:33Speaker 3: other side of the board and it gives me an
- 8:36Speaker 3: O shit moment.
- 8:36Speaker 4: I think it's always cool.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I understand when like the jellyfish situation comes out, or
- 8:43Speaker 3: you know those certain robin hoods that have double tax
- 8:45Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 8:47Speaker 5: I like them.
- 8:48Speaker 4: I like uniques.
- 8:50Speaker 5: I like them a lot. Right now. My only complaint
- 8:53Speaker 5: is that I coming from key Ford, which is a
- 8:56Speaker 5: game made on entirely algorithmically, I very very well understand
- 9:01Speaker 5: the nuance of like there's gonna be some dials. There's
- 9:04Speaker 5: gonna be some generation of bad iterations of things. I
- 9:08Speaker 5: think right now that dial needs to be like, I
- 9:13Speaker 5: don't know that. I think the top ends fine. I
- 9:15Speaker 5: think the top end is exactly where it needs to be.
- 9:17Speaker 5: I've seen great uniques in all factions at this point
- 9:20Speaker 5: that drastically help different decks and styles of play. So
- 9:24Speaker 5: I think the top end is right where it needs
- 9:26Speaker 5: to be. However, the bottom end, that shit needs to
- 9:30Speaker 5: be cutting. Like there should not be uniques that are
- 9:34Speaker 5: worse than commons. Like that is one of the driving
- 9:37Speaker 5: force of monetization of this company's game, right Like that
- 9:41Speaker 5: is why a lot of people are gonna keep buying
- 9:43Speaker 5: or not buying right this product. So I think, like
- 9:47Speaker 5: when you open a gold card, you should be getting
- 9:51Speaker 5: something that is basically comparable to a rare as the
- 9:54Speaker 5: base and up to these crazy things that we've been
- 9:58Speaker 5: talking about on the cast. I think think that is
- 10:00Speaker 5: the biggest thing that needs to be tweaked. In my opinion.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Unique wise is that there's always like some degree of like,
- 10:08Speaker 5: oh I got a unique, this is gonna be cool
- 10:10Speaker 5: to some degree because right now, like in Isthmir, that
- 10:14Speaker 5: is not the case. Let's be like, in what way
- 10:17Speaker 5: did they f over this card this time? Is my
- 10:19Speaker 5: general go to. There are still some good ones out there,
- 10:24Speaker 5: of course, but like a lot of his being uniqus
- 10:26Speaker 5: are just real real bad and like as in worse
- 10:29Speaker 5: than their common.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe we should every so often just throw in
- 10:34Speaker 3: a stinker of the week because I have a.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Monadruid that is just really bad.
- 10:40Speaker 5: All right. I think next week we'll have a segment
- 10:43Speaker 5: on like we'll just do that, as our said, what
- 10:46Speaker 5: part of whatever the bigger segments we'll say like who
- 10:48Speaker 5: can bring the worst unique and not tell each other? Well, well,
- 10:51Speaker 5: that'll be our homework assignment. I wouldn't say that's in
- 10:53Speaker 5: you'll find your worst unique that you personally own, and
- 10:57Speaker 5: we can argue to see who's is the worst. Like
- 11:00Speaker 5: let's be cit ber.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys have a lot more chances. But I
- 11:06Speaker 3: don't know that that druids.
- 11:07Speaker 5: It's stopped that. But that proves our point though, it's
- 11:10Speaker 5: actually done hard to find with bad. Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 1: So yeah, but like that's I know you mentioned Keyfords,
- 11:17Speaker 1: but like that's the same thing with keybords, right, Like
- 11:19Speaker 1: how many decks do you open? And get absolute below
- 11:23Speaker 1: average trash, you know, in hopes that you might open
- 11:27Speaker 1: that one top ninety percent, you know, a tier deck.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And that's kind of the same thing that is doing
- 11:33Speaker 1: with the uniques, right, it's what's going to like you
- 11:35Speaker 1: said not or continue to drive sales.
- 11:37Speaker 5: And yeah, well but this was a little different as in,
- 11:40Speaker 5: like it is supposed like it is. They have pitched
- 11:44Speaker 5: it and sold it to be like a one good
- 11:48Speaker 5: thing to open an like that is the idea behind Yeah, yeah,
- 11:51Speaker 5: that was not the idea behind Keyboard. It was supposed
- 11:54Speaker 5: to be you're going to open a deck that is
- 11:56Speaker 5: playable to play the game in a somewhat competitive fashion.
- 12:01Speaker 5: And when you're talking about sealed and all that, that
- 12:03Speaker 5: that for the most part wasn't a lie. There are
- 12:06Speaker 5: some like extraordinarily horrible decks. There're some extraordinarily great decks,
- 12:10Speaker 5: but most decks are very average and Keyboard when it
- 12:14Speaker 5: comes down to it, that just doesn't mean they're competitive
- 12:17Speaker 5: outside of like limited environment. But yeah, that's all I
- 12:22Speaker 5: got for unique of the week, and y'all gave me
- 12:25Speaker 5: as through our discussion, we have a topic for next week.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and I guess for anyone listening what do you
- 12:33Speaker 3: think should there be events where uniques are banned. We'll
- 12:37Speaker 3: see what the response is. And I get to tell
- 12:42Speaker 3: you now why I suck at altered and I'm sorry,
- 12:47Speaker 3: see I did. I did not take the one that
- 12:51Speaker 3: you suggested. We'll save that for another person that may
- 12:55Speaker 3: or may not exist. But the reason I personally altered.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Is because of not paying attention. And I do this
- 13:05Speaker 4: all the time.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I did it in person at the Weekly on Thursday
- 13:11Speaker 3: and almost lost a game that I definitely had no
- 13:16Speaker 3: business losing because I just wasn't paying attention. And that
- 13:21Speaker 3: comes in a couple different fashions. One of them is
- 13:27Speaker 3: I like to play games while I'm working, So while
- 13:31Speaker 3: I'm waiting for my opponent to make a move or
- 13:33Speaker 3: to manor or something like that, I'll be sending a
- 13:36Speaker 3: couple emails here and there. And if I end up
- 13:40Speaker 3: getting busy or because I'm bouncing back and forth, I
- 13:44Speaker 3: will miss things because I'm not paying full attention. But
- 13:49Speaker 3: one of the biggest things is just not paying attention
- 13:54Speaker 3: to what element I am in. And I have played
- 13:58Speaker 3: cards many a time that did not benefit me for
- 14:02Speaker 3: where I was in the expedition. So if you are
- 14:08Speaker 3: in water and you play a card with no water
- 14:14Speaker 3: or very little water, you're probably not going to win that.
- 14:19Speaker 3: And then not counting. I sometimes just don't want to count.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Yeah, it wasn't like that blatance today, But I did
- 14:31Speaker 5: make a math error today too. I just I thought
- 14:35Speaker 5: I was in a full block a leane and I
- 14:37Speaker 5: put it ended up moving there, and I was like,
- 14:39Speaker 5: I did not account for getting double pushed here. I
- 14:43Speaker 5: definitely would have played my whole turn differently and it
- 14:46Speaker 5: cost me the game.
- 14:47Speaker 4: That was in person, Yeah, it's very easy when you're
- 14:52Speaker 4: looking at three different stats on your side and three
- 14:59Speaker 4: different stats on their side times two, So.
- 15:03Speaker 3: You're basically paying attention to three different stats four ways
- 15:08Speaker 3: whatever you know that is.
- 15:11Speaker 5: And well then there can be lots of weird things
- 15:13Speaker 5: going on. In my case, the thing I didn't account
- 15:15Speaker 5: for was the landmark on their side, which is it. Yeah,
- 15:18Speaker 5: so there's just a lot a lot going on.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Yeah, when when I am and I think, honestly, this
- 15:25Speaker 3: is why I usually perform better in tournaments than I
- 15:30Speaker 3: do just tracking my games casually, because if I'm playing
- 15:34Speaker 3: a tournament or something, I'm I'm locked in and I'm
- 15:37Speaker 3: paying as much attention as.
- 15:39Speaker 4: I can, uh, and that.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Really takes you to the next level. You can even
- 15:45Speaker 3: you can even go like a step higher than that.
- 15:48Speaker 3: You know, pay attention to where you're moving next, which
- 15:53Speaker 3: is what I tried to do.
- 15:54Speaker 4: When I'm fully paying attention.
- 15:57Speaker 3: I you know, I'm on a water only section here.
- 16:02Speaker 3: But if I put this character to sleep or I
- 16:06Speaker 3: anchor this character, I can see.
- 16:09Speaker 4: The next location if I can just.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Squeeze out getting to it is going to be you know,
- 16:14Speaker 3: a combo of nature and mountain or forest and mountain.
- 16:19Speaker 3: So that that also comes. Another side note of that
- 16:26Speaker 3: is I still have to confirm in the comprehensive rules
- 16:31Speaker 3: for myself. But I trust El Eoh was correct because
- 16:37Speaker 3: he knows the comprehensive roles very well.
- 16:39Speaker 4: I thought, just because I play.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Mostly online mostly BGA Arena added up the stats of
- 16:47Speaker 3: each section entirely. So if you have seven seven seven,
- 16:53Speaker 3: that's you know, twenty one, and that's it. How you
- 16:56Speaker 3: actually win in the arena is by winning two out
- 16:59Speaker 3: of the three elements, well.
- 17:02Speaker 5: Just the most you can actually like win one, tie,
- 17:04Speaker 5: tie and win. Yeah, I've seen.
- 17:08Speaker 4: I just thought this whole time.
- 17:10Speaker 3: It was just just bulk total and that's it.
- 17:14Speaker 1: So you know, I was gonna say from our local
- 17:17Speaker 1: that we played today, that same rule question came up,
- 17:22Speaker 1: and it was the same thing. Like one person thought
- 17:25Speaker 1: one way as far as like, oh, it's total stats
- 17:27Speaker 1: added together, and another person said, no, it's it's per biome,
- 17:32Speaker 1: per per area, right, forest, mountains, water, And if you
- 17:36Speaker 1: win the majority of those or not even the majority,
- 17:39Speaker 1: if you win the most like as he said, then
- 17:41Speaker 1: that's how you declare winner. And if it's tied, then
- 17:44Speaker 1: you go to arena again.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Do it again, yeap.
- 17:46Speaker 3: So if you're in the arena, that's another thing to
- 17:50Speaker 3: pay attention to and make sure you're keeping track of.
- 17:55Speaker 3: And honestly, I really like Altered because there is a
- 18:01Speaker 3: good amount to pay attention to, and there's a lot
- 18:03Speaker 3: of strategy, but there's not too much. Like I also
- 18:09Speaker 3: judge and play Star Wars, and I feel like there's
- 18:13Speaker 3: just too much smuggle bounties, you know, like all this
- 18:18Speaker 3: kind of stuff is just too much.
- 18:20Speaker 4: And I'm sure we'll slowly get more and more.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Un Altered, but I I don't see it getting to
- 18:28Speaker 3: that level of like a magic where Star Wars Unlimited,
- 18:32Speaker 3: where there's just too much.
- 18:33Speaker 5: The biggest things that would change the complexity level is
- 18:37Speaker 5: the actual heroes themselves, and if we're not getting new
- 18:40Speaker 5: heroes for what was it, three four sets, Yeah, I
- 18:44Speaker 5: don't see the complex like the total complexity, because they're
- 18:47Speaker 5: gonna be like in game design space, right, They're going
- 18:50Speaker 5: to be having to be bound by the heroes that
- 18:52Speaker 5: exist in the cardpool to build on what they're already doing.
- 18:57Speaker 5: That kind of thing I kind of already talked about
- 18:59Speaker 5: a little bit, like if they can't expand the complexity
- 19:02Speaker 5: that you're talking about through additional use of permanence, so
- 19:07Speaker 5: like that we could see, but they would still have
- 19:09Speaker 5: to be like viable enough to fit into the heroes
- 19:11Speaker 5: that we have. I think once we get a new
- 19:14Speaker 5: batch of heroes, that's you know, people love the design games,
- 19:18Speaker 5: love the design games, so like they're going to go
- 19:21Speaker 5: more and more extravagant as the game goes on. So
- 19:24Speaker 5: I'm sure we'll see that, but I don't think we'll
- 19:26Speaker 5: see that for like a year or so, right, Like
- 19:29Speaker 5: we have some time.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Yeah, and there are new things in the new set
- 19:34Speaker 3: that have already been revealed, but they're very simple things
- 19:38Speaker 3: already to wrap your hand around. Like things being exhausted
- 19:43Speaker 3: when they're in the expedition or reserve and then just gear.
- 19:48Speaker 4: But gear is just another permanent We're used to that.
- 19:51Speaker 5: So and that's all looks pretty straightforward as far as
- 19:55Speaker 5: what they do. I appreciate that a lot of what
- 19:58Speaker 5: this game has done. The card text itself, it's very
- 20:02Speaker 5: clear with their little parentheses when they add it and
- 20:04Speaker 5: stuff like, it's very straightforward, like this is what I'm doing.
- 20:09Speaker 5: I haven't read a single card where I'm like scratching
- 20:12Speaker 5: my head. And like my old game keyboards had like
- 20:16Speaker 5: five or six of those cards per set. I'd be like, wait,
- 20:20Speaker 5: what happens if this is this and this going on.
- 20:23Speaker 5: I was just saying, you're like, but there's there's like
- 20:26Speaker 5: these cards are like I do this thing or I
- 20:28Speaker 5: don't do this thing. That's really all you get.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Yeah, an exact question like that came up. I have
- 20:36Speaker 3: a group chat with some friends and they asked, like,
- 20:40Speaker 3: what happens when you smuggle in Star Wars? Does the
- 20:43Speaker 3: new card or whatever come in to play exhausted or not?
- 20:48Speaker 3: And like, I I judge. I'm not gonna say I'm
- 20:53Speaker 3: the best judge because altered is my main love. I
- 20:56Speaker 3: didn't know the answer off the top of my head,
- 20:58Speaker 3: and the two other people in the in there that
- 21:01Speaker 3: play the game don't know the answer off the top
- 21:04Speaker 3: of their head because none of us play Smuggle Decks.
- 21:07Speaker 3: But that mulan we talked about earlier, it literally says
- 21:12Speaker 3: the exact thing at the end in parentheses as an
- 21:17Speaker 3: exhausted or yeah, so it is.
- 21:20Speaker 1: It is really great, Yeah, very very clear.
- 21:26Speaker 5: Okay, I think I'm up from my control cards.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, what what are we what are we controlling
- 21:34Speaker 3: with cards?
- 21:35Speaker 5: Yes, so there's some couple like you know, we have
- 21:38Speaker 5: to operationally define what I'm talking about here for a second.
- 21:41Speaker 5: But last week we talked about draw, so we defined
- 21:44Speaker 5: two types of decks. We have a low drawl deck
- 21:46Speaker 5: and a hyghdraw deck. Basically, whether you're seeing you know
- 21:51Speaker 5: a certain amount of cards, it is not as much
- 21:53Speaker 5: or if you have a hero Slash faction that's seeing
- 21:57Speaker 5: more cards. So like that, it's going to be very
- 22:00Speaker 5: relevant with a lot of the topics moving forward. At
- 22:03Speaker 5: the moment, they are worth that many load all decks,
- 22:06Speaker 5: but they're still out there in the meta. So I'm
- 22:09Speaker 5: going to kind of find what I'm talking about move
- 22:11Speaker 5: board in those terms. If you didn't hear last episode,
- 22:16Speaker 5: you should probably listen to. It was a good one.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Lots of lots of lots of cool stuff from all
- 22:21Speaker 5: these guys here. Remember it's always been just us three
- 22:25Speaker 5: those other people or the other ones. That's just col.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Right. Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I have been working on getting into some voiceover work,
- 22:34Speaker 3: so it is. It has been my practice. The last
- 22:38Speaker 3: episode did have some feedback, some comments, so you when
- 22:43Speaker 3: you're going into these control cards, you might need to
- 22:45Speaker 3: speak better on Moona's behalf or you know.
- 22:49Speaker 5: I think I promote Moona pretty well, a lot of
- 22:53Speaker 5: good things about Muna, especially at the end, like maybe
- 22:56Speaker 5: they didn't really like listen to the whole part. I
- 22:59Speaker 5: don't know who knows, all right, But anyway, So control cards,
- 23:02Speaker 5: so there's a lot of ways to talk about control
- 23:04Speaker 5: in every card game, specifically Altered has a bunch of
- 23:08Speaker 5: them today, like the whole control set. In my opinion
- 23:12Speaker 5: for what's going on with Altered is we're obviously removing
- 23:16Speaker 5: stuff from the board, affecting their actual cards in hand,
- 23:20Speaker 5: which is very few cards in this game, affecting their permanence,
- 23:25Speaker 5: and affecting their reserve sabotage in affecting their actual hand
- 23:32Speaker 5: are kind of strange things in this game, and I
- 23:37Speaker 5: think they're more on the efficiency side of things. So
- 23:39Speaker 5: today I'm not really going to be talking about those.
- 23:42Speaker 5: I do consider them part of the control suite, but
- 23:45Speaker 5: today I'm really going to be talking about cards and
- 23:49Speaker 5: control cards, specifically talking about my opponent has stuff on
- 23:54Speaker 5: the board right now and I want to remove it.
- 23:58Speaker 5: So we're talking about stuff that will take it active
- 24:00Speaker 5: character in an expedition out away from that expedition, or
- 24:04Speaker 5: an active landmark on the board that is providing its
- 24:07Speaker 5: permanent effect right now. So that's what I'm going to
- 24:11Speaker 5: be talking about. So the first thing I really want
- 24:16Speaker 5: to talk about is like what numbers should be, because
- 24:20Speaker 5: like this this block is right now mainly about decks constructing,
- 24:24Speaker 5: and when I'm going to make a deck, what number
- 24:27Speaker 5: am I looking for? Because I think a lot of
- 24:28Speaker 5: people are kind of like gravy decks off the internet
- 24:32Speaker 5: and just throwing stuff together. I've done my very best
- 24:34Speaker 5: to play lots and lots and lots of different decks
- 24:37Speaker 5: across the factions. I know someone was talking about a
- 24:41Speaker 5: ret deck last week. I can't do that. I don't
- 24:46Speaker 5: see it. I can't do it.
- 24:47Speaker 3: I an am going to make the Ritt deck for us.
- 24:50Speaker 3: I am just missing copelias.
- 24:54Speaker 5: Or power to you. I might send you some if
- 24:55Speaker 5: I have them, but I can't. I am getting closer
- 25:01Speaker 5: the considering making a Venka deck because of the honestly,
- 25:08Speaker 5: it's because of uniques. I think there are actually a
- 25:11Speaker 5: lot of really good no Venka uniques out there that says,
- 25:16Speaker 5: whenever I roll a die do a thing, there's actually
- 25:20Speaker 5: three different iterations of what can happen when you roll
- 25:23Speaker 5: the die. And because there are three different versions of
- 25:27Speaker 5: that effect at unique, that means there's a lot of
- 25:30Speaker 5: unichs being generated for Novenca that are actually pretty good.
- 25:34Speaker 5: So I could see a world where if you have
- 25:36Speaker 5: three of those uniques, you could pretty easily actually start
- 25:40Speaker 5: to make decks that are very impactful because of just
- 25:44Speaker 5: how good your uniques are.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Yeah, well we'll have to talk about it after, but
- 25:47Speaker 3: I made a trade for that Athena for a Novenka
- 25:53Speaker 3: unique form.
- 25:54Speaker 5: Yeah, there's lots of good. Yeah. When I say a lot,
- 25:59Speaker 5: I mean like it's super hard to find a good
- 26:01Speaker 5: Bravos unique that's like very playable. It is this if
- 26:07Speaker 5: you're going to Vinca. There's lots of them out there,
- 26:11Speaker 5: especially compared to like Fenn. It's really hard to find
- 26:14Speaker 5: a good unique for Finn. All right, anyway, completely derailed there,
- 26:19Speaker 5: So back to control cards. So I'm looking at stuff
- 26:23Speaker 5: like sticky notes, key long burst, off you go. I'm
- 26:26Speaker 5: gonna I'm gonna give shout outs to the factions here
- 26:29Speaker 5: in a second, but right now I want to talk
- 26:31Speaker 5: about when I go to make a deck, how many
- 26:33Speaker 5: of these cards do I actually, like, really really want
- 26:36Speaker 5: in my deck? And I've got to broke them down
- 26:38Speaker 5: in the two categories. And furthermore, like styles of play,
- 26:43Speaker 5: which I haven't really talked about as far as like
- 26:45Speaker 5: we have not had a whole segment on what that means.
- 26:47Speaker 5: It's not exactly deck construction, but most people play lots
- 26:50Speaker 5: of card games though the general term. So if I
- 26:53Speaker 5: have a low draw deck, which was what Bravos, Mona, Siggy,
- 26:58Speaker 5: I think that was the main three that are competitive
- 27:01Speaker 5: right now, well basically almost all of Muna yeah not
- 27:07Speaker 5: just yeah, I just said Muna, And I guess there
- 27:11Speaker 5: are some people playing to patch like that. That's a
- 27:13Speaker 5: pretty low deck too. That's starting to gain some tracks.
- 27:18Speaker 5: So if I'm playing a load drawl like aggressive deck,
- 27:21Speaker 5: I'm trying to push as fast as I can and
- 27:24Speaker 5: as hard as I can and just gain lanes and
- 27:25Speaker 5: not play much defense. I only want about six to
- 27:29Speaker 5: seven total control cards in my thirty nine. If I'm
- 27:33Speaker 5: looking for like some kind of middle of the range
- 27:35Speaker 5: deck where like I'm being somewhat aggressive, but I also
- 27:38Speaker 5: want to be able to block fairly well, I am
- 27:42Speaker 5: looking at eight to nine control cards in my deck,
- 27:47Speaker 5: and if I actually really want to go all like
- 27:49Speaker 5: control the flow of the game, as if my opponent
- 27:52Speaker 5: is playing something, I want to be able to answer
- 27:54Speaker 5: it very regularly. On a lower draw deck, I'm looking
- 27:57Speaker 5: for ten or more control cards. That kind of deck
- 28:02Speaker 5: would be more along the lines of Akesha. Technically, Akesha
- 28:06Speaker 5: is a higher all archetype because it is Ismir. But
- 28:10Speaker 5: between the three heroes you have in Ismir, Akesha does
- 28:15Speaker 5: draw the least of the of the three because they
- 28:19Speaker 5: have way more control cards in there, which would be
- 28:21Speaker 5: that control mode, although even though still have the draw
- 28:26Speaker 5: cards in their deck for the spells. If my deck
- 28:30Speaker 5: is a high draw deck, I see a lots of
- 28:32Speaker 5: cards i'm playing fed, I'm playing Turbo or WAU, I'm if,
- 28:40Speaker 5: I'm if. I like those are the types of decks.
- 28:43Speaker 5: If I'm going agros and I want to win as
- 28:45Speaker 5: fast as I possibly can't, generally this is Turbo, I'm
- 28:49Speaker 5: looking for four to five control cards. I don't need
- 28:52Speaker 5: to see as many because I'm only trying to answer
- 28:54Speaker 5: the things that will like absolutely kill me. The rest
- 28:57Speaker 5: of the time, I'm just pushing. And since I'm seeing
- 29:00Speaker 5: so many cards, I don't need that many. You can
- 29:02Speaker 5: actually drastically reduce the number of those cards that are
- 29:05Speaker 5: actually in your deck period, all the way down to
- 29:07Speaker 5: four or five. If I'm in a mid range hy
- 29:10Speaker 5: draw deck, again, you're just seeing so many cards you
- 29:12Speaker 5: don't need as many of them. If you put too
- 29:14Speaker 5: many of them, you're gonna end up mannaing a bunch
- 29:16Speaker 5: of them. And so I only need six to seven.
- 29:19Speaker 5: And then on the there aren't that many decks out
- 29:23Speaker 5: there that are high draw control decks, but you can
- 29:26Speaker 5: actually build warow that way. And Akesha Kesh is weird
- 29:31Speaker 5: because it's not really lower hydraw deck. It's like really
- 29:33Speaker 5: in the middle ga Kesha kind of just plays this
- 29:36Speaker 5: way because it has more than eight control and it
- 29:38Speaker 5: can still draw a lot of cards. But you can
- 29:41Speaker 5: make Lindy that way too. Lindy can be a high
- 29:43Speaker 5: hydraw control deck too, so and I would have eight
- 29:47Speaker 5: or more I say it, or more. Go like, if
- 29:51Speaker 5: I'm drawing a lot of cards, I don't think I
- 29:53Speaker 5: would ever really have more than nine hard control outside
- 29:56Speaker 5: of like a Kesha Shenanigans. That would be like Fenn.
- 30:01Speaker 5: I guess Fenn is a hydraw deck. You can easily
- 30:04Speaker 5: go control of Fenn, but I would still probably stop
- 30:07Speaker 5: at nine because you just have a lot of options
- 30:10Speaker 5: to control them, because you're gonna see a ton of
- 30:12Speaker 5: those cards. What are y'all thoughts on that? As far
- 30:15Speaker 5: as what you've seen out there, that's kind of what
- 30:18Speaker 5: my dad has been showing. How do y'all feel that's
- 30:21Speaker 5: been lined up with what you've seen and played against
- 30:25Speaker 5: again Zach's case, because he doesn't plenty offre Yeah.
- 30:28Speaker 4: Well, you you made the.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Disclaimer at the start that you were focusing on cards
- 30:37Speaker 3: that specifically target opponents cards. You did slightly mention the
- 30:45Speaker 3: Akesha hijinks. I guess people wanted to hear my struggles
- 30:50Speaker 3: with that.
- 30:52Speaker 4: So in your yearsmere list.
- 30:54Speaker 3: There are actually like three cards missing that are part
- 30:59Speaker 3: of the Kesha Control Deck, but they do not fit
- 31:05Speaker 3: your qualifier. The ISA the celebration day and then technically
- 31:12Speaker 3: the categyar permanent, and I's just.
- 31:19Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 31:20Speaker 3: I watched the game you sent me where you didn't
- 31:24Speaker 3: have that heart of a time, but then you used
- 31:27Speaker 3: a small step I did, so I was like, come on,
- 31:31Speaker 3: I just watched this whole thing and you used.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Part of the kid.
- 31:34Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean it's they call it the Akesha
- 31:38Speaker 3: Control Deck, but yeah, yeah, I don't know. It's the
- 31:41Speaker 3: worst deck to ever play against it, and I never ever
- 31:44Speaker 3: wants like it.
- 31:46Speaker 5: Every time I beat it, I'm gonna start sending you though.
- 31:48Speaker 3: You gotta because I still have not seen anyone go
- 31:53Speaker 3: up against it and combat it.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Like well and been able to watch it.
- 31:59Speaker 3: I know that there are a couple that cycled through
- 32:03Speaker 3: like a Wall and maybe even Ace, but I I
- 32:07Speaker 3: don't get to watch their full game, and I know
- 32:09Speaker 3: they don't make it till the end, but yeah they
- 32:13Speaker 3: So I also help moderate for a Wall, and so
- 32:17Speaker 3: I watch, like how long the games are taking even
- 32:20Speaker 3: if they're not winning, Those games take the longest and
- 32:23Speaker 3: hold up the turn.
- 32:24Speaker 5: I will agree with that. There was the first time
- 32:27Speaker 5: in Altered I ever cycled my deck like I drew
- 32:31Speaker 5: again because I flipped the deck. Was because I played
- 32:34Speaker 5: against Nakesha that celebration dad me four times. Yeah, in
- 32:39Speaker 5: its game, I was just like, ros, okay, come on,
- 32:43Speaker 5: come on now.
- 32:45Speaker 3: But yeah, I like all of this, the Muna cards,
- 32:52Speaker 3: cloth cocoon.
- 32:53Speaker 5: Is well, I was gonna go through to them. But
- 32:55Speaker 5: my question was just basically like, that's the thing about
- 32:58Speaker 5: making the deck. And again, I know a lot of
- 33:00Speaker 5: people are just like deck scrubbing the internet for like, hey,
- 33:03Speaker 5: this person played this and this and this, yeah, and like,
- 33:06Speaker 5: but when it comes down when you're making your own,
- 33:09Speaker 5: like the general number, like if you're not sure where
- 33:13Speaker 5: your draw is at and you're playing like a fairly
- 33:16Speaker 5: middle of the you know, you're not that aggressive, not there,
- 33:20Speaker 5: Like I think right now that that generic numbers start at.
- 33:24Speaker 5: If you're just not sure what your cycle is looking like,
- 33:27Speaker 5: it's probably somewhere between six and nine of these these cards,
- 33:33Speaker 5: and then you can go up and down from there,
- 33:35Speaker 5: depending on whether you after you've played say ten games,
- 33:37Speaker 5: you're like I'm drawing too many of these, Like you're
- 33:40Speaker 5: like like track whether how often you're managing the cards.
- 33:43Speaker 5: I'm about to say, if you feel like you are
- 33:46Speaker 5: putting a lot of them into manna mid game, that's
- 33:49Speaker 5: a sign that you probably don't need them as much
- 33:52Speaker 5: and you maybe want to go down one card. And
- 33:55Speaker 5: because that's where I got a lot of these numbers.
- 33:56Speaker 5: It's trial and error based on types of decks I've
- 33:59Speaker 5: been played, because I have played like fifty games on
- 34:04Speaker 5: each of the low draw decks. I have played fifty
- 34:06Speaker 5: games on each of the hydraw decks to kind of
- 34:08Speaker 5: see what the relationship of these cards are. Because like
- 34:11Speaker 5: a lot of the the nuance and the values that
- 34:15Speaker 5: you can like reach for in decks by like losing
- 34:18Speaker 5: or gaining a card or going down to two instead
- 34:20Speaker 5: of three and stuff is do I actually need this thing?
- 34:23Speaker 5: Because like control cards in themselves sometimes don't help you
- 34:28Speaker 5: in lanes because it's not a body, right Like it's there,
- 34:31Speaker 5: they're there and to respond. If you don't need to respond,
- 34:35Speaker 5: you need to push more often it's taking that slot.
- 34:39Speaker 3: So on that first act, the only question I would
- 34:44Speaker 3: ask is you have for low draw because obviously that's
- 34:49Speaker 3: what I played the most of you have.
- 34:51Speaker 4: Agro six to have another Yeah, you have Agro six.
- 34:55Speaker 3: To seven and mid eight to nine. I think with
- 34:59Speaker 3: my Agro or it's ramp deck, I.
- 35:03Speaker 5: Have less uh.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Than six in my moon A deck, So I don't
- 35:11Speaker 4: know it's it's.
- 35:13Speaker 5: More than that because yeah, like with less than six
- 35:17Speaker 5: in a low draw deck like you were, there's going
- 35:20Speaker 5: to be a certain time where you you should be
- 35:23Speaker 5: getting blown out of the park by other Agri decks
- 35:27Speaker 5: that are coming out there that do have more answers
- 35:29Speaker 5: than you're, like Kojo's that are coming out fast, dress
- 35:32Speaker 5: that are coming out fast, because like, if you don't
- 35:35Speaker 5: answer them to get your ramp up, you're just you're
- 35:38Speaker 5: just lost before you can even get your big body
- 35:40Speaker 5: on the board in your case.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Yeah, good point. Now Zach is just gonna say I
- 35:45Speaker 4: just play robin Hood.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Right, No, No, actually that I mean I'm looking at
- 35:50Speaker 1: the cards that you have that you're gonna mention here
- 35:52Speaker 1: in a little bit, and I it is interesting that
- 35:56Speaker 1: the different factions have different amount of cards, right, And
- 35:59Speaker 1: I think that kind of lends.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Itself absolutely different.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Yeah, And it lends us though to that type of
- 36:04Speaker 1: play that you expect from those decks or what you'll see.
- 36:09Speaker 1: It is interesting that you're I mean, even with the
- 36:12Speaker 1: low draw cards like slick to steven for an agro deck,
- 36:15Speaker 1: like there's a very good chance you may never see
- 36:17Speaker 1: those cards in repeated games, right, yeah, but I.
- 36:24Speaker 5: Don't know it.
- 36:25Speaker 1: We've talked a lot about our deck for Waru and
- 36:28Speaker 1: and things that we've done to change it, and you know,
- 36:30Speaker 1: ways to adjust it and tweak and stuff, and it
- 36:33Speaker 1: is interesting. You know, the level of control cards that
- 36:37Speaker 1: we've talked about is has gone up and down depending
- 36:40Speaker 1: on how it's playing and what's it seem.
- 36:42Speaker 5: So, all right, So I've got some cards that I
- 36:48Speaker 5: put that I think are significant to mention that our
- 36:51Speaker 5: control cards for each faction, and I did put them
- 36:55Speaker 5: in like my rank order of their value. Should I
- 36:59Speaker 5: share with them in reverse order or like say this
- 37:01Speaker 5: is the best and go down?
- 37:04Speaker 4: I think best first.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Because I now that I know that you did that ranking,
- 37:10Speaker 3: I'm looking at the artis and I'm like, okay, that
- 37:13Speaker 3: makes sense. So as I was reading it, I was like,
- 37:18Speaker 3: I didn't know there was a ranking, but it makes
- 37:20Speaker 3: total sense.
- 37:22Speaker 5: All right, that's one vote for best first, Zach.
- 37:25Speaker 1: I always like to build up to the climax.
- 37:28Speaker 4: All right, hype them, hype them up. Go from the
- 37:32Speaker 4: bottom to the top.
- 37:34Speaker 5: All right, all right. So for Axiom, I've got four
- 37:36Speaker 5: total control cards on my list at the bottom, mainly
- 37:41Speaker 5: because it's the rare slot. It's actually a good card,
- 37:43Speaker 5: but it's hard to put in most Axiom decks. I've
- 37:45Speaker 5: got sticky notes it's out of faction hints it has
- 37:48Speaker 5: to be rare. If it wasn't out of faction, it
- 37:51Speaker 5: would be higher ranked, but it's hard to get it
- 37:53Speaker 5: in there. I do have common Boom in there. I
- 37:57Speaker 5: still use it in the current meta. If something changes
- 37:59Speaker 5: rob that I might cycle it out, but I do
- 38:02Speaker 5: still have it in there. This doesn't actually remove a
- 38:06Speaker 5: card from the board, but it wins lanes. It removes
- 38:11Speaker 5: them from expedition, so I've kept it in here. I
- 38:14Speaker 5: have rare Hooked as the second best Axiom control card.
- 38:19Speaker 5: Technically it could be common Hooked. I just don't like
- 38:21Speaker 5: it from personal preference, but basically Hooked is ranked number
- 38:24Speaker 5: two Common, then the number one card I have at Axiom.
- 38:30Speaker 5: I think it is by far their best control because
- 38:33Speaker 5: Kelon Burst is at common, it only costs three and
- 38:39Speaker 5: roughly about eighty percent of the game. Kelon will remove
- 38:44Speaker 5: everything you need removed, creature and permanent. Wise, the best
- 38:49Speaker 5: permanent's in the game cost for or less, so it's
- 38:54Speaker 5: just fantastic at Common for Axiom, I really see any
- 38:58Speaker 5: decks that I have Axiom that have that don't have
- 39:01Speaker 5: three of them in there anyway, So I think most
- 39:03Speaker 5: people kind of got that packed correctly as far as
- 39:06Speaker 5: where they're going there.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Rare Hooked does a card draw right.
- 39:11Speaker 5: Yes, That's why I said for my personal Repensen, it
- 39:14Speaker 5: actually costs two to two instead of one to two,
- 39:16Speaker 5: so there is I do understand the logic behind the
- 39:20Speaker 5: people that run it at Common because it is still
- 39:23Speaker 5: a really good control card. At Common you are saving
- 39:26Speaker 5: one man, are there. I just really really love card
- 39:29Speaker 5: draw and I understand the argument that Tracy might not
- 39:32Speaker 5: need it too. I don't know. It's just one of
- 39:35Speaker 5: the most efficient cards in the game is rere hooked,
- 39:37Speaker 5: So I just love love that.
- 39:39Speaker 3: I mean, you're getting removed and not removal, but you're
- 39:41Speaker 3: getting an interaction and a card draw.
- 39:46Speaker 5: I get it. Yeah. My favorite thing I've ever done
- 39:48Speaker 5: with the Hooked is I've forced two dragons to be
- 39:52Speaker 5: on the same side. It's like, that's fine, I'm already
- 39:56Speaker 5: one lane ahead. You can win that lane for the
- 39:58Speaker 5: rest of the game. I will play one on one
- 40:01Speaker 5: with you over here and beat you anyway. If you
- 40:05Speaker 5: play a third Dragon, I'll move it over there too,
- 40:08Speaker 5: like let's go fun times Bravos I have coming in
- 40:16Speaker 5: at third. I actually have a tie between two cards.
- 40:21Speaker 5: I think Twinkle Twinkle and Manna Reaping are both roughly
- 40:27Speaker 5: equivalent to value as far as what you get for
- 40:29Speaker 5: them in Bravos. Unfortunately, they're out of faction in a
- 40:34Speaker 5: in Bravos has a lot of competition at Rare. It's
- 40:37Speaker 5: already talked about on that cast about Bravos at the
- 40:41Speaker 5: rinked number two spot. I have man Eruption a great
- 40:44Speaker 5: card because it goes into common and most Bravos run
- 40:47Speaker 5: ramp so they can afford it later and then by
- 40:51Speaker 5: quite a bit. I think I have an Intimidation is
- 40:54Speaker 5: my number one card for them. It just really really
- 40:57Speaker 5: helps you close to the game and beat Seth.
- 41:01Speaker 1: That's that's not true. I beat you today even though
- 41:03Speaker 1: you intimidated. You intimidated my Robin Hood's so many times
- 41:08Speaker 1: they were scared. It was like the sheriff who came to.
- 41:11Speaker 5: I at least made you pay for like three times.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's no, it's it's that's that's very
- 41:20Speaker 1: good cards, and it's the cost of what to for intimidation.
- 41:24Speaker 5: And still only three with robin Hood, so still less
- 41:28Speaker 5: than what you paid to put them out there.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Hey as long if that's uh, you're moving ahead on man,
- 41:34Speaker 1: you know what I mean, you're already winning part of
- 41:35Speaker 1: the game.
- 41:36Speaker 5: One. Uh for Lera, Lera it is have the most
- 41:41Speaker 5: control in the whole game. So Lira has a ton
- 41:46Speaker 5: lots of them are really good options too. So from
- 41:49Speaker 5: the bottom real quick, I have Lera, I have either
- 41:52Speaker 5: sand Man. As far as they're control value, they are equal.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Then I have paint Prism. Honestly, it's pretty good card
- 41:59Speaker 5: costs three and unfortunately it just sends it back to
- 42:01Speaker 5: the top of the deck. So with a delay, not
- 42:03Speaker 5: a like remove remove off you go. It's pretty solid.
- 42:09Speaker 5: It's most people run three halth Ors, so you have
- 42:11Speaker 5: that chance to play it at two. And then if
- 42:14Speaker 5: you're one of the players that plays multiple unique lyric
- 42:19Speaker 5: cards that also let your return cards in your hand,
- 42:22Speaker 5: Off you Go gets a little bit better, but without
- 42:24Speaker 5: those I have it at fourth. At third, actually their
- 42:29Speaker 5: next three could almost all be well, their next two
- 42:32Speaker 5: could be like tied for second. Twinkled Twinkle is an
- 42:35Speaker 5: amazing card because it costs two and two from reserve,
- 42:40Speaker 5: but from reserve it also can be used to reduce
- 42:43Speaker 5: the next a card for one, so it can be
- 42:45Speaker 5: used as manna, so it's particularly great in Fen. And
- 42:49Speaker 5: then a Cappella's Training is just fantastic. It's a basically
- 42:54Speaker 5: an after view effect for the cost of one while
- 42:58Speaker 5: killing the backside half of a creature because it gives
- 43:00Speaker 5: them fleeting. I think you've already actually said this the
- 43:04Speaker 5: guests before. Then their number one card is Cloth Cocoon.
- 43:07Speaker 5: Loth Cocoon is the best control card in the game.
- 43:10Speaker 5: It indiscriminately kills any landmark or permanent for three manna,
- 43:15Speaker 5: doesn't matter what the cost is, and then it can
- 43:17Speaker 5: remove any character that is either fleeting, anchored, or asleep,
- 43:23Speaker 5: and those things happen all the time, so I think
- 43:28Speaker 5: this is the best control spell in the whole game
- 43:31Speaker 5: by quite a bit. And Lira has the absurd value
- 43:34Speaker 5: of being able to put three of them in their
- 43:36Speaker 5: deck at common, so I don't think any lyrit Ex
- 43:39Speaker 5: should be run without three of those. That would be
- 43:43Speaker 5: like staple number one for all lyrit DECs. Doesn't matter
- 43:45Speaker 5: what here you're running, even though you should only run
- 43:48Speaker 5: one of those here. Although I don't know, I might
- 43:53Speaker 5: eventually try this sinker thing, even though I said ould everyone,
- 44:00Speaker 5: which we talked about quite a bit recently Muna at
- 44:04Speaker 5: third place, I've got Mana reaping all all decent value there.
- 44:09Speaker 5: Second place got common Beauty Sleep, very good cheap control spell,
- 44:14Speaker 5: and hey, here's Clothe Raccoon again. So obviously, even though
- 44:18Speaker 5: I'm spinning a rare slot on it, I would spend
- 44:21Speaker 5: this happily. In any moon A deck I ever made,
- 44:24Speaker 5: I would have three of them there. It is well
- 44:26Speaker 5: worth the rire slot to have the best control card
- 44:28Speaker 5: in the game.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Yep, every Moona deck I have has it.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Yeah, and Beauty Slip is really one I need to
- 44:37Speaker 3: wrap my head around better. It's just really hard because
- 44:41Speaker 3: I don't want to use it against Waru like almost ever.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Uh.
- 44:45Speaker 3: And it is also hard for me to use it
- 44:48Speaker 3: against a lot of bravostecks because of like seasoned you
- 44:54Speaker 3: know things, maybe losing fleeting. I think that's a personal
- 45:00Speaker 3: sue I just need.
- 45:00Speaker 5: To get usediously. For me, I use it as an
- 45:03Speaker 5: in game thing if I if I draw it in
- 45:06Speaker 5: my starting six or on day two or three, it
- 45:10Speaker 5: will be MANA. If I see it anytime after day three,
- 45:14Speaker 5: I save it in my hand, looking in the game
- 45:17Speaker 5: with it, because you can actually double cast it for
- 45:20Speaker 5: four mana. And if so, if I'm going into like
- 45:22Speaker 5: a turn where if I double push, I win, I
- 45:27Speaker 5: would be looking to actually play Beauty Sleep from hand
- 45:30Speaker 5: and then from reserve to lock out my final push
- 45:32Speaker 5: based on the anchored people I have on the board already.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's a really really good way to look
- 45:37Speaker 3: at it. So I'll have to lock that away in there.
- 45:40Speaker 5: Because if you consider a late game Beauty Sleep for
- 45:43Speaker 5: four mana, I'm sleeping too. If that's what you're trying for,
- 45:47Speaker 5: you're planning for that versus it just being But yeah,
- 45:51Speaker 5: but the rest of the time in that those first
- 45:53Speaker 5: three turns, basically it's just a MANA card for me.
- 45:55Speaker 5: I can't hold it knowing I don't have a lot
- 45:57Speaker 5: of draw because obviously I'm playing MODA, so I can't
- 46:00Speaker 5: afford to just hold on it to the whole game,
- 46:03Speaker 5: like like freaking ortists can do that shit. They can
- 46:06Speaker 5: draw teamwork training in their six and hold it to
- 46:10Speaker 5: turn eight to win the game because they know they're
- 46:14Speaker 5: going to just see.
- 46:15Speaker 6: A bunch of cards in charge yep, yep, just like
- 46:20Speaker 6: ISMIR can hold their small step from turn one because
- 46:23Speaker 6: again they're just gonna draw a lot of cards.
- 46:26Speaker 5: That's why I should always just assume they have it.
- 46:29Speaker 5: They just have small steps. They just start the game
- 46:31Speaker 5: with it. Ortis we have ortists, so in their fourth
- 46:37Speaker 5: place they also have access to Kelan Burs. I honestly
- 46:41Speaker 5: think we would see it a whole lot more if
- 46:43Speaker 5: they had to actually think about what rares to put
- 46:46Speaker 5: in their deck. Maybe if Robin Hood was in Berka,
- 46:49Speaker 5: they would have to make that assessment. So we'll we'll
- 46:52Speaker 5: see Sandman is almost always in their decks already because
- 46:57Speaker 5: of robin Hood. I am very in if robin Hood
- 47:01Speaker 5: were to change. If we see Sandman again, it is
- 47:03Speaker 5: a very good control plus body card, so it might
- 47:08Speaker 5: have an argument to continue to be in there. But
- 47:12Speaker 5: I'm not sure. I think in a world where Robin
- 47:16Speaker 5: Hood does say bureaucrat keylon Burst immediately goes up and
- 47:19Speaker 5: rink over Sandman. But with the way it is now,
- 47:22Speaker 5: I think Sandman's above key lumbers because you actually see it.
- 47:27Speaker 5: They have sticky notes, was a comment at Common. That
- 47:30Speaker 5: is their only real answer to the hydrosena, so most
- 47:36Speaker 5: of them still have it. It also does help them
- 47:38Speaker 5: against opposing robinhood, so they have that. And by far
- 47:42Speaker 5: their best control card is teamwork training for two. They
- 47:45Speaker 5: have tons of twoth in the world. Almost all the time,
- 47:47Speaker 5: I've used a teamwork training plane sigy to remove a
- 47:50Speaker 5: dragon I had seven characters.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Yeah, those are those last two cards are probably the
- 47:57Speaker 3: scariest on this whole list to me. They're just they
- 48:02Speaker 3: just feel so good. And they have both of them
- 48:05Speaker 3: at Common yep.
- 48:07Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, well in being able to spend two or
- 48:10Speaker 5: three to remove things that are very threatening. Like it's
- 48:14Speaker 5: like Pluca ends almost every game with teamwork training, Like
- 48:17Speaker 5: that's just what he does. It's just because he can
- 48:21Speaker 5: go into a turn kind of like I was talking
- 48:23Speaker 5: about with the moona you start with anchored dudes. In
- 48:25Speaker 5: his case, he starts with a bunch of sleeping bureaucrats
- 48:28Speaker 5: and then that final turn he just teamwork trainings. Whatever
- 48:31Speaker 5: you land that's threatening because he can teamwork training anything
- 48:35Speaker 5: because he has like eight dudes, so it's pretty sick.
- 48:43Speaker 5: Zach knows about team training. Oh, I love it.
- 48:46Speaker 1: It's it's it's such a good card to keep it
- 48:49Speaker 1: like it. It's you're gonna have multiple characters right to
- 48:54Speaker 1: be able to power through that. But like especially if
- 48:58Speaker 1: you have like a Quettes out and he just you know,
- 49:00Speaker 1: if you're playing a Trace or a Fen and they're
- 49:03Speaker 1: just constantly filling your board with recruits, it's like, yeah,
- 49:07Speaker 1: just power up my card like that your big your
- 49:10Speaker 1: big problem there is gonna go away.
- 49:11Speaker 5: So yeah, no, it's just such a good card. The
- 49:15Speaker 5: way ismir so kind of like lero, I'm gonna go
- 49:17Speaker 5: through this fast recause they have a ton of options.
- 49:19Speaker 5: There's actually probably someone in lists here because they just
- 49:22Speaker 5: don't see play as much. But at the very bottom,
- 49:25Speaker 5: I have Boom. Literally you're never gonna see her play
- 49:28Speaker 5: it unless you're running Lindy. Lindy needs a lot of
- 49:31Speaker 5: help from uniques. So if you have those uniques, you
- 49:34Speaker 5: probably get Boom in your deck. If not, I don't
- 49:37Speaker 5: think a Faunas or Akeisha ever run Boom because it
- 49:41Speaker 5: has to take a rere slot. They have Dorothy Gale
- 49:44Speaker 5: at common. I do see her on occasion. Every time
- 49:48Speaker 5: I see her played, I question the value of it.
- 49:50Speaker 5: The only time I see it played regularly is Innakesha
- 49:53Speaker 5: is a Kesha is just trying to be a bitch
- 49:55Speaker 5: the whole time, trying to just just trying to screw you, like,
- 50:00Speaker 5: it just feels very annoying to play against the Kesha.
- 50:03Speaker 5: I do win most of those games. I know Cole
- 50:05Speaker 5: has this whole experience that you rent them, but all
- 50:07Speaker 5: the time, well, I don't enjoy those games either. I
- 50:12Speaker 5: will agree with you that it is.
- 50:14Speaker 3: I think I barely mentioned it before. Well I should
- 50:19Speaker 3: have known a long long time ago. I went up
- 50:22Speaker 3: against Nakesha in a draft, like a sealed draft at
- 50:28Speaker 3: gen Con, so before the game was fully released, and
- 50:32Speaker 3: even then with just the like cards we had that
- 50:35Speaker 3: at Kesha was just.
- 50:36Speaker 4: Like nope, nope, nope, yeah.
- 50:38Speaker 5: Yeah, so yeah, you cause like Akesha basically like even
- 50:42Speaker 5: if you take any iteration of them, right, you can
- 50:44Speaker 5: fill your deck with basically nine cards that say drawl
- 50:50Speaker 5: of some kind and then thirty like whether it's Bobby
- 50:52Speaker 5: Yaga or whatever, they'll they'll just be there to get
- 50:55Speaker 5: you cards, and then the other thirty cards can be
- 50:59Speaker 5: some level of control. And it's just it's really really
- 51:02Speaker 5: grindy to play against. I even try to play game
- 51:07Speaker 5: with it. I won't play with it either, Like it's
- 51:09Speaker 5: I don't like that style of play it is. It's awful,
- 51:14Speaker 5: all right, continue with their their control cards. They also
- 51:17Speaker 5: have Intimidation, still a great card. You don't see it
- 51:20Speaker 5: as much as I think you should. I'm actually not
- 51:23Speaker 5: sure why I've considered trying to work it into my
- 51:27Speaker 5: funnest deck, because it is a pretty great card. They
- 51:31Speaker 5: have banishing gaits most of the time you'll see it
- 51:34Speaker 5: at common. There's very few cards in this game that
- 51:36Speaker 5: just say destroy anything you see. Banishing gates one of
- 51:40Speaker 5: those for four. It'll do that out of faction Beauty
- 51:44Speaker 5: Sleep you actually do see quite a bit of for
- 51:46Speaker 5: the exact same reason I just said it. In Muna.
- 51:49Speaker 5: It also combos super well with the funness because they
- 51:51Speaker 5: want super cheap spells. The better uniques in Ismir return
- 51:57Speaker 5: spells from your reserve to your hand to give you
- 51:59Speaker 5: another cast at one. So it's just a really really
- 52:03Speaker 5: good control spell for Ismir. And they are number one
- 52:06Speaker 5: spell because they have so many ways to return it
- 52:09Speaker 5: to their hand. Is off you go only costs to
- 52:15Speaker 5: most of the game. The creatures you're sending to reserve
- 52:19Speaker 5: are three or less, and then you can return it
- 52:23Speaker 5: to your hand. Due to Shenanigan's then do it again,
- 52:26Speaker 5: Flamel does it at common. Almost all the uniques that
- 52:30Speaker 5: people are searching for in Ismir do this. Ogre got
- 52:33Speaker 5: one this week in our Faction Break and one last
- 52:36Speaker 5: week in our Faction Break, so Oger is set to
- 52:38Speaker 5: make almost any kind of Ismir deck he wants except
- 52:42Speaker 5: for a Kesha.
- 52:43Speaker 3: So yeah, I think this ranking is really good, especially
- 52:47Speaker 3: with Kraken's Wrath being pretty low, because.
- 52:51Speaker 4: It seems like it would be amazing. But I just
- 52:55Speaker 4: don't think you really see it getting used.
- 52:58Speaker 5: I tried to play it actually, but no, it wasn't.
- 53:02Speaker 5: I had it. Yeah, I don't skip that. I have
- 53:04Speaker 5: it in between doors the yeah, third from the bottom.
- 53:08Speaker 5: I tried to make this work a lot because I
- 53:10Speaker 5: thought it was gonna be a good answer to Siggy
- 53:12Speaker 5: back when Siggy was like super popular, but Siggy kind
- 53:15Speaker 5: of died off. Yeah, and then once Siggy died off,
- 53:18Speaker 5: I was like, okay, this is it's actually that great.
- 53:20Speaker 5: It's no like it has some value versus Kojo who
- 53:25Speaker 5: has some value versus brass bugs. But you don't see
- 53:29Speaker 5: those much like that, wasn't that great if the token
- 53:34Speaker 5: ones that if Siggy gets better, right, then Cracker's rat
- 53:37Speaker 5: does get a lot better.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Well, I've seen a lot of increased popularity in gold Ring, so.
- 53:45Speaker 5: Oka that would be a thing that it would be
- 53:48Speaker 5: very good versus gold Ring as well. So we'll see.
- 53:52Speaker 5: But that's where I have. So those are some control
- 53:54Speaker 5: cards look at for Remember, I know my little tables
- 53:58Speaker 5: like you go back and list through whatever, but like
- 54:00Speaker 5: the control cards, I'm saying six to eight, start with
- 54:04Speaker 5: one of those numbers. Play some games. If you feel
- 54:07Speaker 5: like you're putting too many in demana, drop one down.
- 54:11Speaker 5: If you feel like you're getting your losing because you're
- 54:13Speaker 5: not able to answer board stuff but you're still playing
- 54:16Speaker 5: your board, fine, add one and kind of go from there.
- 54:20Speaker 5: The thing is, I know a lot of us want
- 54:22Speaker 5: to have threes and threes of stuff. These are the
- 54:25Speaker 5: cards where I think it is highly valuable to look
- 54:28Speaker 5: at whether you actually need three unless they're like the
- 54:32Speaker 5: best ones in the game. You should always have, if
- 54:35Speaker 5: you have access to it, three cloth cocoons in your deck.
- 54:40Speaker 5: I don't know how many times I could say that
- 54:41Speaker 5: one if you can put it in your deck, you
- 54:44Speaker 5: need to put three of them in your deck.
- 54:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you have this laid out well where it would
- 54:51Speaker 3: be beneficial if people could see it. So I will
- 54:54Speaker 3: add it to my list to make it pretty a
- 54:57Speaker 3: little bit and we can post it on Patreon.
- 55:00Speaker 5: Sounds good, it'll be in the Patriot. All right. That
- 55:04Speaker 5: is a lot of talkie talking for me. So who
- 55:08Speaker 5: you're doing our organization, Cole? Who's next?
- 55:11Speaker 4: You are next?
- 55:12Speaker 5: To?
- 55:12Speaker 3: Do us a quick Google search on the market?
- 55:17Speaker 1: What are we?
- 55:17Speaker 4: What are we looking at?
- 55:18Speaker 5: I do that, but I think you probably skipped someone?
- 55:22Speaker 5: What did I?
- 55:24Speaker 3: Uh?
- 55:24Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, well, Zach, I'll asleep. It seemed like are you.
- 55:28Speaker 5: Are you there? Zach? Well, I'm good and uh yeah, I.
- 55:32Speaker 3: Was literally writing the note I said I was going
- 55:35Speaker 3: to so I just guessed.
- 55:37Speaker 1: So it's so funny because, like I was, my medal
- 55:41Speaker 1: line was skipped, the one of the first first or second?
- 55:47Speaker 4: Yep, ye, tell us more about artists, all right.
- 55:52Speaker 1: More metal line talking. That's funny that you actually said,
- 55:55Speaker 1: did I fall asleep, because we're going to talk today
- 55:57Speaker 1: about the Standman and playing him in Ortis, but specifically
- 56:03Speaker 1: war Room because again that's what I'm playing. Excuse me, goodness,
- 56:08Speaker 1: because it still is right now probably one of the
- 56:11Speaker 1: top tier decks. So Sandman in so Sandman three two
- 56:22Speaker 1: three from hand two from reserve zero three to three
- 56:27Speaker 1: for the cost. The big ability with Sandman, as we
- 56:31Speaker 1: were talking about with the control cards an artist, is
- 56:34Speaker 1: when playing it from hand up to one target can
- 56:36Speaker 1: gain a sleep That is really good in the war
- 56:40Speaker 1: room decks because it can sleep your bureaucrats for longer,
- 56:44Speaker 1: including Robin Hood, the dreaded Boogeyman. It can sleep other
- 56:48Speaker 1: ones if you just want to keep drawing cards potentially
- 56:50Speaker 1: with the Attorney whatever we talked about those ones, or
- 56:53Speaker 1: if you want to just continue sleeping whatever. What's what
- 56:59Speaker 1: is also interesting about the rare version of the Sandman's
- 57:02Speaker 1: is that you may have a character gate to boost
- 57:06Speaker 1: after it goes to sleep. So with that it as
- 57:11Speaker 1: he kind of mentioned, like it's a control card in
- 57:13Speaker 1: the fact that you are well back in ep A. Second,
- 57:19Speaker 1: the thing that's really good about the Sandman is that
- 57:21Speaker 1: you can use it offensively or defensively. Offensively is pretty clear,
- 57:25Speaker 1: right like you are sleeping your character more than likely
- 57:29Speaker 1: a bureaucrat. If you sleep your own character, you're going
- 57:32Speaker 1: to have a game to boost, and so when it
- 57:34Speaker 1: does wake up, it's going to be stronger and more
- 57:36Speaker 1: powerful than when you put to sleep. Defensively, you can
- 57:43Speaker 1: take their care their big bad creature off the board
- 57:46Speaker 1: at least for this round, especially at the close out
- 57:48Speaker 1: of the games. One of the things that happened today
- 57:52Speaker 1: when Zena were playing was I had to decide whether
- 57:56Speaker 1: or not which of his creatures sleep. He had a
- 57:59Speaker 1: very large boarding sides playing Kojo and calculated out and
- 58:05Speaker 1: do the math. In my head, it made sense that
- 58:07Speaker 1: I had to sleep this one creature, specifically playing the
- 58:11Speaker 1: Sandman on the opposite side, and that way it wouldn't
- 58:16Speaker 1: lose the Actually, no, I take that back, I'm misremembering.
- 58:23Speaker 1: There was another match in the Zas and I match.
- 58:26Speaker 1: I believe that I slept my own character, which allowed
- 58:29Speaker 1: me to keep him for the next turn. We went
- 58:32Speaker 1: into arena, but the stats on Sandman again three mountains,
- 58:37Speaker 1: three water were enough to win the hero side expedition,
- 58:41Speaker 1: which then again put us into.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Arena and.
- 58:48Speaker 1: It allowed me to draw a card. Yeah, which you know,
- 58:52Speaker 1: it's it's always good, right like it.
- 58:54Speaker 3: So I think the way that I view Sandman is
- 58:59Speaker 3: I don't think there is another card in the game
- 59:02Speaker 3: where you can get as many benefits to yourself, like stats,
- 59:09Speaker 3: putting things to sleep if you'r wau as you can
- 59:12Speaker 3: like also.
- 59:13Speaker 4: Disrupting the opponent.
- 59:17Speaker 3: You can technically anchor your opponent's characters.
- 59:21Speaker 4: And I have.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Maybe like one time, done that beneficially to myself, But
- 59:26Speaker 3: there's I don't think there's anything else in the game
- 59:29Speaker 3: where it, you know, has so many options on both
- 59:33Speaker 3: sides of the board.
- 59:34Speaker 5: Yeah, you know for most of the time, and it's
- 59:38Speaker 5: a body like yeah, fact it is like beauty sleep
- 59:42Speaker 5: costs one and then three. And I've I've like I
- 59:46Speaker 5: just explained scenarios where I spin the four to sleep
- 59:49Speaker 5: two things just Sandman, Like, even if you're over a
- 59:53Speaker 5: liar and you're using the common one that camp buff
- 59:56Speaker 5: for three mana, you're putting a decent stat if it
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: lines up to be forced not forced but mountain and
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: water and sleeping one of their people simultaneously. Like there's
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: very few cards that are that aggressively good late game
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: because it is because late game you need all the things.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: You need everything you can to win a lane to
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: get to arena or win in arena or double bush,
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: so you don't go to arena. Like it is by
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: far one of the better in game cards.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: It is we see and like I like it even
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: mid game two, depending on how the board state is going, right,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: like if if things are going well enough, that's very certifically,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: I wouldn't which I am? Which I am? Though, which
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I am? And it's the topics s and man value
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: in Waru right like it's it's we're not talking about
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: any other ones, but specifically in Waru. If the game
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: state is going well, and I can continue to sleep
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: one of my beer crouds like Robin Hood and get
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: him boost and still have have a three three body
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: on the board, zero three three body on the board,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: absolutely you know what I mean, Like it's.
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: Case it gets even bigger, like a Catzel slept for
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: one run boosted becomes five five five huge, plus you're
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: getting extra Trooper, Like it's the value of big game
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: sleeping your Warrow dudes, like the only time Sandman is
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: not great and worrow is early, like very early.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, yep, which I'm not gonna lie a lot
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: of the times I will put that in MANA because
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I know that I'm not. I don't want to hold
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: that onto a card that long without getting value from
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: it later.
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: Even then though, like sometimes WO can't afford to hold
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: if you got early attorney like attorneys quite valu two
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: to four cards, right.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Yeah, which is I mean we're talking about other metal
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: lines previusly been discussed right with that, But like you know,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: just stand Man itself, like like Cole said, it is
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: it is so swingy, you know, about putting something else
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: asleep or to close out the game, or putting your
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: own guys sleep to continue on with the the taxing,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: the drawing, the sabotaging, whatever it's.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: And I like sand Many way more than Dorothy Gale
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: because like my critique on Dorothy Gale as a control card,
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: even though it has a body on it is it
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: costs five ye, like that's a lot. And the stats
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: aren't that different than Sandman, like the if the if
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: the zones line up regionally, Sandman's way better than Dorothy
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: Gale even the push so yeah, and it's weight and
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: it's significantly cheaper.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: Yeah, now Sandman is how you get three robins on
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: the board?
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: Yeah, this is true.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: I will say too, like there are some really really good,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: unique Sandman's that we've seen to where they're not just
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: going doing the sleep ability from hand. They are doing
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: the sleep ability regardless of being played.
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: Is Sandman? Yes, right, Garrow on the sleep.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: And you know we've talked about that one before. But
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: like that's another thing, like when Sandman goes to my reserve,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: if I have other cards that I feel like that
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I need to keep. Granted, a two costs for six
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: stats is pretty good, but it might not be. It
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: might might be the zones that I'm looking for, you know,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: that's all it's given me at that point.
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: It's just two for six.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: So sometimes that was one of the ones that gets
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: discarded if I if I need to make that choice.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: So all right, and for marketplace, finally, after talking more
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: about where it is.
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: Hey, I had plenty of time to search it this time. Okay,
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: so retail product is still holding at that eighty four
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: ninety nine. I still think that's a great price if
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: you're looking to get in the game for what three
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: of these, I think, like what that like, under three
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: hundred dollars, you could actually have a pretty decent starting
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: I could go at it. Plus a starter deck would
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: be right at three hundred, and you'd have a ton
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: of stuff to play pretty well in your local from
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: what I've seen as far as people opening it. So
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: that's a good number still, yep, way more than that
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: back in the day when we had to get into
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: fat but uh, the Kicks starter version when from this
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: number and then it was up to like one sixty
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: something at the bottom, and now it's back down to
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: one fifty one ninety nine. So gamers, who is this?
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: This is Gamers Guild in Arizona. They have three There
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: are three of these available at one ninety nine. This
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: hasn't come out to Tuesday. It's currently Saturday. These are
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: probably gonna be sold out if you come here and
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: then so if these are gone, I think it was
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: back up to the one sixty four ninety nine we
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: talked about last week, So.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: One sixty four is still great though.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: I went to a local store in the past week
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: and they were selling them for two hundred so.
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: Well, and then value wise right like I've never seen
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: I've opened what because of the faction breaks that we do.
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: I've seen eleven Kickstarter boxes opened, and I've never seen
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: a Kickstarter box open of thirty seven packs that have
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: not getten gotten you around like two twenty to two
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: fifty dollars in value of cards. So these are still
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: fantastic prices, So I'm sure that'll be I'm sure this
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: will be sold out. Hell, I might buy it before.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: This segment is gonna get really interesting because if people
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: listening don't know like the state of Kickstarter boxes, uh,
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: they're gonna be gone. Like there's gonna come a time
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: where they are gone. And I'm sure there are people
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: out there sitting on unopened ones that are going to sell.
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: It or a very high amount.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: But even just like they they don't exist in like
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: France anymore.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: Yeah, all of Europe is out of them. If I
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: had if the if these same places had a way
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: to ship them to Europe, they'd be getting near double
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: this amount. Yeah, but it's a night rittership over there.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: But yeah, that's it. That's all I got for the prices.
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: They're still looking good, all right.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: Next up we are going to talk about events. I
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: will start with just the not the smaller ones, but
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: the ones we don't have to spend as much time
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: talking about. For local Texas events, I will mainly just
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: say join the discord. You can go to altered Corner
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: dot com for all of the links. I am working
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: on making sure everything is up to date and we're
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: getting the newest information from the stores.
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: I actually called a store yesterday to help.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Them get on the event page because they were having
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: some issues, so I got them connected to Justin who
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: is over the organized play in North America, and he's
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: always very willing to help stores, so.
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: You can.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: If you store, you can send him a discord message.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: If you're having a lot of issues with events on
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: the website, other than that, you know probably don't bug him.
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: He's a busy.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: Guy and we don't have too much new popping up,
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: but if we do, that'll be listed on the website
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: as well.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: For a wall, I did play in it.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: I did better than usual because I took a deck
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: that I actually play instead of just playing something random.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: We had a newcomer, the Blender, take first place on
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: fen and took second on Trace, and I have had
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: the pleasure of getting my ass kicked twice by Yola
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: Kin this week because I lost to them in a
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: Wall and I matched up with them Thursday maybe Friday,
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: and they kicked my ass again on traced, so it
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: was super great. Yeah, Pluka has fallen, so a moment
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: of silence for our American hero. I believe he was
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: still can by a Kojo, So he lost to a
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: Kojo and I believe dropped after.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: That, which is not uncommon.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: A lot of people know that they're not gonna get
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: first or second if they lose one game most commonly,
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: so they'll.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Just kind of save their time and drop out since
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: it's a Swiss setup. You guys didn't play in a
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: wall this week, did you?
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: No? No, I didn't make it da wall.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: I don't play an a wall just because of timing.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: But yeah, busy family guys, what is that? Having kids?
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: Come on? Yeah, I mean stuff.
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: But the big story is we had the ACE Championship
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: and before we get into kind of the big detail else,
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: it's going to be the bulk of our main current
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: topic of the week. I just wanted to give a
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: shout out to how did you say it?
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: Again?
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Because you learned in persons he just creative company. I'm
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: glad we have that sorted. I will definitely never ever
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: say it wrong again for sponsoring season one and providing
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: the prizing, and season two will start in December. But
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: how did you guys feel the championship went?
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: So Initially we I was gonna be in it. I
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: did want to make sure it went off as smooth
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: as possible. I've run a lot of these over the
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: years of my previous game, so I did pull out
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: so that I could do all of the backseat side
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: of things. We were running it as a seeded e it,
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: so that means we weren't going to use g A
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: because first of all, bg currently just not uh like,
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: let you do best of three anyway. But I think
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: the cding part went fine. There was only one person
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: that wasn't fortunate enough to get paired into PLUCA. That
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: was like the bt F here, Yeah, that's how seeding works.
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: This is actually Pluca's awarded your penalty. You know.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: I think I think it went really smoothly for not
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: being organized directly through bg A.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: I think you did a good job. I think the
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: players did a really good job at.
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: Being they you know, they surprised me.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it it is a h what is the what
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: is the word? It is very great to do everything
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: through b g A and it makes it kind of effortless.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: But this this went pretty well from the outside looking in.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: I was gonna say from a players to point, because
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: I did play it, it went very smooth. Z handled
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: everything on the front end, getting everybody friended up on
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: BGA to allow for quicker like depending on what the
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: pairings were, because they changed, you know, because of z
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: is dropping on that last day, you know, the pairing up.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: You gave very good detailed instructions about you know, who
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: should be inviting who and all that. My partner invited
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: me and we played our three games. Unfortunately, I did
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: lose the last two very close games to Manisfaction, who
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: then on who went on to get eat my Pluka
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: next round, which would have happened probably to me as well.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: But yeah, it was it went really smooth, a lot
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: of fun.
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: It was.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: It was a very good time and I think it
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: was well run, well handled, and I I didn't see
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: any issues from a player side standpoint, Yeah, I.
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: Didn't like I've run a lot of events and normally
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: there's like some negative feedback. I didn't get any of
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: that everyone that got in got their prizes, they got
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: paired up to their people, no one had an issue
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: getting into their matches, no one showed up late or
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: anything like that, and we saw I wish we had
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: seen more of variety of heroes that showed up, honestly,
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: but like it is what it is. It's the Waru
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: world that we live in. We did have a war
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: ofw make. I'm sure we'll talk about who made what,
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: but all in all, I think the players were super
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: respectful of each other, and honestly, before the tournament, I
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: was like, we probably need to just go straight best
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: of one and make this a lot easier. But given
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: how smoothly everything went, I'll probably at some point to
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: get community feedback as to whether they want Championship of
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: Season two to be best of three or not, because
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: this actually went pretty pretty well.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I was very surprised. I told my partner, I
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: was like, I'll probably be done, you know, like ten pm,
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: just because we're doing you know, best of three, and
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: I think we finished before nine pm, so it.
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: Yeah, they did pretty quick too. Yeah, we had a
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: lot of games like matches go to the third game,
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: like once you do your your piece on like what
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: you're gonna do. I was gonna talk about some of
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: the things that I noticed that it is interesting. It's
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: actually like kind of does give a bid to keep
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: it at best of three. But talk to us about
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: what you saw as far as the some of the makeup, y'all,
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: y'all noticed, Yeah.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: I have the I have the list in front of me,
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: and it was the first one that we had cast
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: on the Altered.
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: Corner Twitch account.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: I'd kind of been testing things here and there to
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: kind of get used to it. I I don't know,
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: I'm very a kind of a perfectionist where I don't
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: want to just jump in to something like I want
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: to test some things out.
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: So my main issue was you don't have very many viewing.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Options for board game arena, so I kind of played
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: around a lot with different ways to view the games.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: But I feel like we had a really good setup
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: and definitely we'll do it more often.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: It was great.
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: I was very happy to see that people viewing were
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: not just demanding like the top like in quotes top tables.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: They were very open to not watching waruvars WARU.
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: So the streams.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: Saw a lot of variety, but I did bounce around,
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: and of course in the in the end, uh, there
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: was the Waroo mirror. I will real quick because there's
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: only sixteen of them. I'll just go go up the
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: list from last to first as we did the control
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: Ca Guards. So we had Zared on Ren and Orchid.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: We had the Noble One on Waru and Mac. We
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: had Sabron on Fenn e seol On, Sigismar, doom Bringer
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: on Sierra, Dexter on Waru, Belta, Shazzar on Kojo, Aklo
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: on Akesha ogre On traced Maddix on Waru, Evron on Waru, Boston,
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: bever on Fen.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: There's no way in there.
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: I know I know him.
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: Yeah, l e Oh.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: Dfw fame eli Oh, subash A a Sylvain, the French
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Monster on Waru, Uh, the Keelon guy on Waru from Switzerland,
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure sure, and Pluka taking first on Warrio.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: So for me, the sad thing is no Tasia in
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: the championship.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: But there was no one even brawl on.
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: Yeah, there was a Rin and Orchid, though, what do
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: you guys think?
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: I was surprised that there was only one Kojo because
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: it had been gained like I after we did our segment,
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: we started to actually see it more in the wild,
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: and it had done pretty well in a wall recently.
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: Having the only Kojo being Belta Shazzar kind of surprised me.
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: I was expecting to see two or three of them
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: then seemed too like the Honestly, the biggest surprise is
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: Wren was here. I don't get it. I know Zared's
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: a good player. He's like he was even talking Rent
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: up in chat. Obviously it didn't work out for him,
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: but he did win one game. That is one more
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: game I've seen rin when than ever before.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: You know, I would say, if anyone's going to bring
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: a deck that you don't think you would see, it's Zared.
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: We thought Zared was going to play Novenka, like I think.
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: Even I don't know if it was Zach or one
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: of the other people that no longer exist, but they
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: were worried about going up against or it was Zared
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: or Elio, because you could say the same thing about
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: Elio is he's not going to play Waru until Robin
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: hood has changed something he's very specifically said. So the
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: subash is is kind of out there as well. But
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: both Zared and Elio play things that not a lot
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: of people play, and they both play them very well.
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: Z Elio was on Tajia literally the.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, it smashed me round one like.
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: Handily, so we were all expected that to beat the
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: Taja and that ended up being Subash Yep, which was
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: the highest ranked non Waroo player at top four. That's
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: the top four slot. Ye did very well, Yep.
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: I still think just from the amount of arena games
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: I play, that the meta is shifting.
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: A little bit.
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: There we go again, but not quickly enough. I will
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: say by now we have enough time. It's not quickly enough.
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: Cool. Trust me. Once you get you know, rigked high
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: enough with that, it is.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: I The conspiracy theory I have is that it's not
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: about the rank because I play against like top you know,
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: two hundred players like or you know, eighteen hundred, nineteen
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: hundred on EGA, I very very rarely play against someone
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: that's not elite. And on my newest deck, I've played
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: against tu warus out of twenty four.
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: So I don't know. Conspiracy theory of some sort where
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: they hide in them? Why do they not.
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: Part of this is that like, like let's say I
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: am Pluca Pluca is grinded three different accounts to first place.
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: At some point, he has nothing left to do there, right, Yeah.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: He's already proven that the deck works, like multiple times over.
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: Just waiting for real events in the real world. Right,
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: it's actually like, you know, make his bones in real life.
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: At some point, these people that have these ordecks aren't
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: playing them. So I do think that is a natural
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: progression that will happen, especially since every're all in like
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: kind of this limbo land of like what's up because
- 1:19:44Speaker 5: nothing news coming out yet.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it is part of that.
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: Like people who have played Waru a lot, they've gotten
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: what they want out of it, and now they're switching.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: You could say that out Keelan guy because if you
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: go to a wall this last week, he did not
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: play Waroo.
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: He played Subash.
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: Unfortunately it put him at seventeenth place, tied with the
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: same record as me. But he did try something new.
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: Yeah, and like being like I'm always trying something new,
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: Like I could very easily build a Warrow deck and
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: just buy Warrow and do whatever, but that does not
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: entice me, and I already have my best buddy over
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: here to keep me a prize. As far as how
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: that world's going, yeah, yeah, it's a great world to be.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: It's a lot of it's a lot of paperwork, but
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean adding Tally's to the wind column.
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: Yeah, if you if you pull up the a Wall
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: week five breakdown which thirty nine cards dot com, if
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: you need any of the lists or standings, shout out
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: to Tom. I believe Tom or town you know however
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: you say it. There is only one WARU It's Maddox
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: and the top seventeen. There are no other wars, but
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: there are three ciggies.
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: Yeah, so I don't know.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: Maybe everyone wanted to do something different.
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: There's a rain that was sixth Yeah. Data is bogus.
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: Rayfield is another. Ray Feed is another one that does.
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: I've seen them on Rain a lot.
- 1:21:38Speaker 5: Here. Yeah. Uh okay, well.
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: So yep, we'll see.
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: We we track data, and I one of the things
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: I'll say about, like any conversations we have about decks
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: or meta things like that, we track like all of
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: our game We all put a lot of games in
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: and I think like a lot of us only play arena,
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: so I don't anywhere else. Yeah, if you are listening
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: to certain conversations, I think it is important to know
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: whether that person is coming from playing in arena or
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: regular because I've been doing just non arena to test
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: my rain deck since I don't have the capelias.
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: It's a whole different world. I played against like two
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: Tasias in a row.
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know that world. All I know is
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: what is an arena?
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: Yeah, so everything is in arena all the time and
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: tracked and statted and all sorts of analytical But season
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: two in December, you guys.
- 1:22:51Speaker 5: Ready, Yeah, December three, we're in kick off season two.
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: I really loved how this went, so I don't foresee
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: a whole lot of changes. We did discuss moving the
- 1:23:01Speaker 5: start time to the thirty because when I was talking
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: to people, that sounds like that gives more flexibility for
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: people who get off at like on the hour for
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: their jobs. So we'll probably start at six thirty given
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: how fast everything's been firing. And honestly, the only other
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: discussion I think to change as far as the weekly
- 1:23:20Speaker 5: events is I'm still good with putting up foiliers or whatnot.
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: We'll talk about what prizing looks like for season two.
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: I will need to talk to you just to see
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: if they want to sponsor around two. But yeah, I
- 1:23:33Speaker 5: think we're we're going to be good to go on
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: the third. And other than everyone that's out there to
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: sign up moving to six thirty instead of sixth Central time,
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: that's that's the only big teams I know. Yeah, I
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: mean before that, people will have opportunities to do some
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: of your fun events, right.
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: So the first one, of course, which is actually absolutely
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: going to fire this time, is the no Ortis. I'm
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: not sure if it was because the last one was
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: on a Sunday and it was really early, but not
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: many people signed up. This time, it hit the minimum
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: really quickly, so either it being in the normal time
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: slot or the collective amount of time that is passed
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: to have everyone angry at robin Hood. Yeah, Tuesday is
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: going to be no Ortists. I am still kind of judging.
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: For the week after what to do.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: The problem is is a lot of the other things
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: people want are are very hard to control, like a.
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: Care for the no ors one because is it still
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: public or is it invite? Like I didn't know how you.
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: Yeah, so I made sure that this one was private
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: just in case, and I will start to share it
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: around just to see if we get up to like
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: at least thirty two. But I wrote in the messages,
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: no artists do not play ortists in this on this.
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: When you invited them, you did that, So I mean
- 1:25:08Speaker 5: if you if, I don't know if I'll be able
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: to be in it. But like the common or the
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: people's what it was called something in FAB they.
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: Call its lead or something.
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what it was, like the Poppers Challenge or
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: something like that. That was the thing in FAB. People
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: did like that. It was its own side of it,
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: and that was it was a thing like people did
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: sign up to playing those people always did enjoy that. Yeah,
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: it does like level that playing field. Right, It's like, okay, yeah,
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: common deck and then go for it. The problem is
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: like that it's like most of the cards at that point,
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: right because there aren't that many commons.
- 1:25:46Speaker 4: Yeah, you only you have eighteen cards that aren't commons.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: But then you don't.
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: Yeah, you're just putting in really weird stuff. I don't
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: know if that's what people want. Just let us know
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: what kind of weird, quirky events you want to see.
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: No artists is super easy because I just look and
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: if I see someone playing artists, I just message them
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: and I told everyone I will publicly shame anyone who
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: brings artists.
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: I do wish we had more to controls. Yeah, BG.
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: I don't know if that's something that will ever be
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: like changed or whatever, but yeah, that it is weird
- 1:26:28Speaker 5: having no real control. Yeah, you know inside BGA running.
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: So if that ever happens, someone's just being a certain
- 1:26:37Speaker 5: kind of way, we will handle it as far as
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: the prison goes, excluding them. But we have no real
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: way to kick anyone. As far as I know, I
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: could not figure that out. Yeah I don't.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: I don't think so, but I will. I will shame
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: you if you bring or.
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: You will quickly find yourself outside of our server.
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: But that's a common commons is a little harder because
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: I cannot really.
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: Active can do it the same way. It's just like
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: if you pop in you see their plane and you
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: say the same message you would if they're playing. Yeah,
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: as long as it's all done through that private I
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: think we're fine. It's just it would be impossible to
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: run those public events because there's no really good way
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: to streamline the communication to them. You're just kind of
- 1:27:23Speaker 5: hoping they see that message that's that's just there. Yeah,
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: which we know which thing. We know for a fact
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: that we're not always reading in the prior events.
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: Yep, I can put up a unique foiler for first place,
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: maybe first and second, like I can easily.
- 1:27:44Speaker 4: Do do the yeah for a second. Yeah, that's no issue.
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: If you have ideas for other prizes, especially for the
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: offshoots since they're not like a main event, or you
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: want to provide any prizing, uh, just let us know. Yeah, well,
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: well we'll work on it.
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: Are there any cards that look like a turkey?
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: Well? What why?
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: Thanks Giving week? Giving week? Because I won't probably like
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: I'm moving literally moving my house that day house on
- 1:28:23Speaker 5: the twenty sixth Ye never ride, yeah house, I'm okay. Right.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: Are you saying we do one where everyone has to
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: put the Turkey card in their deck?
- 1:28:35Speaker 5: Well no, no, no, I'm saying that could be if some
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: one of us had one of those cards randomly as
- 1:28:39Speaker 5: a unique, like we used to do that stuff for
- 1:28:41Speaker 5: the other game.
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: That data give me a really good random idea of
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: a event where this card has to be included in
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: your deck, and it's like we we did do something
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: weird yeah, so there.
- 1:28:55Speaker 5: Was literally a card that looks like Santa Claus in
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: Key for so we did run like an event in
- 1:29:02Speaker 5: December where you had to have that card.
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: Yeah, three three tuesdays though, I'll see what people are
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: feeling on the twenty sixth if people want.
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: If anyone knows of a card that has something that
- 1:29:16Speaker 5: looks like a turkey, let us know. I looking through
- 1:29:21Speaker 5: all of our current uniques, I can't.
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a bunch of animals side note, but
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: I'm looking at this unique anansi versus the rare. The
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: rare is holding up a sailboat like paper.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: Construction.
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, well, if you look at it, it's
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: like there he's doing the cat's cradle.
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: Do you like look closely. You can see the strings?
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: Oh okay, okay, yeah, yeah.
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: And the unique is a cat, but it's not.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: A turkey, and it's it's also golden too. Yeah, you
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: can see the strings even turned golden around him.
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: That is very, very interesting.
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: But that has been a little over an hour and
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: a half ish from us. Is there any other pressing
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: thoughts or matters before we send it off into the
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: ether wrap?
- 1:30:19Speaker 5: This one up? Got any closing thoughts there.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: Yeah, just be sure to visit our patreon that patreon
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: dot com forward slash altered corner for future Deconstruction episodes.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: And we will eventually have a Patreon Win a Box
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: event for the I think it was the three dollars
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: tier members or higher.
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: I think we're planning on having one in December. So
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: if you're like one of only twelve people in there
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: come December, you have a one in tol shot of
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: winning a whole retail box if you're in the US.
- 1:30:54Speaker 5: If you're in not US, you'll still get it. It'll
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: just all be digital because is a small fortune to
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: ship to your.
- 1:31:02Speaker 4: And how do we win the box? And am I
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: qualified to do it?
- 1:31:07Speaker 5: Are you a Patreon?
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: I mean, can I can be?
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: Why not? That'd bean based on your current drag record.
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: I don't think anyone will mind playing against.
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: Oh so you have to play to get it.
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: I thought it was like a Oh no, it's a
- 1:31:23Speaker 5: it's a win a Box tournament invite, only you have
- 1:31:26Speaker 5: to be a three dollars Patreon and then you show
- 1:31:29Speaker 5: up and you play. It'll be very similarly structured to
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: what we've hosted before. Again, everyone that is in the uh.
- 1:31:37Speaker 5: Patreon members will have their own discord tag and our discord.
