- 0:00Speaker 1: In soccer team as they advance to the Round of
- 0:04Speaker 1: sixteen or the knockout phase round the FIFA World Cup.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Will play Belgium on Monday at seven o'clock. Malik Tillman
- 0:14Speaker 1: is my new favorite player. We're live in the Bank
- 0:18Speaker 1: Plus Studio. We welcome in Roll Tide. Ron Fowler one
- 0:21Speaker 1: hundred and nine in the game Tuscaloosa. He is currently
- 0:25Speaker 1: at Florabama and he is under one of the tables
- 0:29Speaker 1: as he karaoke all night long, and he's got the toes.
- 0:35Speaker 1: He's got his toes in the sand underneath one of
- 0:37Speaker 1: those outside tables. But he's ready to talk about Kaylin
- 0:41Speaker 1: de Boor and whether or not he's on the ropes
- 0:43Speaker 1: after Indiana smoked Alabama to wrap up the year last year,
- 0:48Speaker 1: Ron Fowler, if Alabama goes eight and four this year,
- 0:51Speaker 1: will you wear a I Love Hugh Freeze pullover for
- 0:56Speaker 1: five straight days on your show?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah absolutely. I don't think
- 1:01Speaker 2: Alabama's going eight and four. But hey, going back to
- 1:04Speaker 2: the flor Obama, would you believe if I told you
- 1:08Speaker 2: I've never been in the flora Obama.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Well, knowing you, yes, yeah I will.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I have. But let me say this, And I love
- 1:17Speaker 2: John McGinnis who owns it. Uh, he's part of Abama
- 1:23Speaker 2: lunch group that I do when I'm in Gulf Stores
- 1:26Speaker 2: here on Tuesday at Docs. And yeah, I mean I
- 1:30Speaker 2: know him, but I've never been in Florbama, but I
- 1:32Speaker 2: hear great. Thanks listen. I mean, it's a it's a
- 1:35Speaker 2: place that's is a long way from where I'm at.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It takes me probably forty five minutes to get over
- 1:44Speaker 2: to get over flor Obama. But hey, but going.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Back, don't worry. There's plenty of people listening that have
- 1:51Speaker 1: gone to the Florabama don't remember. Yeah, that are that
- 1:55Speaker 1: are listening right now and blame me. I've been there,
- 1:58Speaker 1: you know. I mean I'm not one to you know,
- 2:00Speaker 1: tear down the place and so on.
- 2:03Speaker 2: But but I have like incident like okay, so so
- 2:08Speaker 2: my understand because I've heard King Chesney like do a
- 2:10Speaker 2: concert live there, right and it's like like women's underwear
- 2:16Speaker 2: bras are hanging from everywhere in that kind of like, uh.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's part of it. That's part of the lore,
- 2:22Speaker 1: I guess or whatever.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Yeah, look, it's it's in anything goes total dive bar
- 2:28Speaker 3: on the beach that doesn't make sense, but makes sense,
- 2:32Speaker 3: and they've actually made it a lot better.
- 2:35Speaker 1: So the last twenty years, I've transitioned. I mean, I
- 2:38Speaker 1: you know, I only go once every few years, but
- 2:41Speaker 1: it's a much more. I'll go in at two o'clock
- 2:44Speaker 1: in the afternoon, have a super ice cold beer and
- 2:47Speaker 1: maybe a po boy, and then I'm out of there.
- 2:49Speaker 1: But hey, for the people who are still howling at
- 2:52Speaker 1: the moon at midnight two and three am, more power to.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I will say this. I go to the floor of
- 2:58Speaker 2: Bama Liquor store across the street. Okay, and I'm gonna
- 3:03Speaker 2: tell you this. This is kind of crazy because I
- 3:05Speaker 2: drive down because remember now Alabama, we don't have the
- 3:08Speaker 2: lottery here. So I drive down to the liquor store
- 3:11Speaker 2: not to get liquor because I don't drink wondering, but
- 3:15Speaker 2: I get me a donation to the Florida Education Fund,
- 3:18Speaker 2: just like when I come to Mississippi, I make a
- 3:20Speaker 2: donation to you guys.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I love it and I'm.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Trying to listen, and I play six numbers and this
- 3:27Speaker 2: is the biggest gump in all I play national titles
- 3:30Speaker 2: from Alabama's years.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Of course, if I ever.
- 3:33Speaker 2: If I ever win this thing, I'm gonna have to
- 3:35Speaker 2: split it with another Alabama fan because somebody else out
- 3:39Speaker 2: there is the same thing. They play the national championships. See,
- 3:41Speaker 2: you guys don't have that problem in old men like
- 3:44Speaker 2: you know, you don't. You wouldn't have to wouldn't have
- 3:46Speaker 2: to play six Numbers or Mississippi State. But over here
- 3:49Speaker 2: we have to decide which national titles we play. You know,
- 3:53Speaker 2: which ones are your favorite?
- 3:54Speaker 1: Mean, some of them are mythical, but y'all do have several,
- 3:57Speaker 1: no doubt, no doubt which one I give your sid.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I can't remember the article that I read years ago about.
- 4:03Speaker 2: The sid Whyane Atkinson?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, he was savvy enough. I don't what was what
- 4:09Speaker 1: was this fifty sixty years ago or whatever in the.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Early eighties, in the early eighties, and he now works
- 4:14Speaker 2: for the Billy Graham Library up in North Carolina. So
- 4:17Speaker 2: he's a very highly integrity guy. But we had never
- 4:20Speaker 2: really claimed our national tale. We had so many of them,
- 4:23Speaker 2: it's like how many. And there's actually years that we
- 4:25Speaker 2: don't claim that we have.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Always good because some of them claim are bogus.
- 4:30Speaker 2: That's okay. Forty one is the only when you can
- 4:33Speaker 2: go Yeah, forty one.
- 4:34Speaker 1: One should go to Mississippi State, and people had made
- 4:38Speaker 1: a strong case for that that they couldn't get back
- 4:41Speaker 1: from San Francisco after they won their last I don't
- 4:45Speaker 1: remember what bull I mean, there was only a few balls.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I can't remember what the story is, but something about
- 4:51Speaker 1: getting back the train broke down, blah blah. It's a
- 4:55Speaker 1: great Johnny Cash story if it was, you know, I'm
- 4:58Speaker 1: kind of butchering it. But Mississippi State and because they're
- 5:02Speaker 1: so not savvy by by the nineteen seventies or eighties,
- 5:06Speaker 1: they should have claimed that nineteen forty one title easily
- 5:10Speaker 1: when you see what they did, so something like it was, that.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Was a big year. It was a big year because
- 5:16Speaker 2: they never forget Pearl Harper because the day after they
- 5:20Speaker 2: won their only SEC championship if not a mistake?
- 5:23Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 5:25Speaker 1: In football? Yeah?
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, I'll see. I know my
- 5:28Speaker 2: Misssippi State history, and I respect Missippi State. I don't
- 5:32Speaker 2: respect Old Miss because that's the Alabama arrogance Vanderbilt trophy cabinets.
- 5:37Speaker 2: A Mississippi State. I respect Ole Miss, do not Alabama
- 5:41Speaker 2: arrogance Vanderbilt trophy cabinets. What Old Miss is but I
- 5:44Speaker 2: respect State. I wish see I would connect with state
- 5:47Speaker 2: people down to earth. Just hey, I'm glad to be here.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Farm boys loved it. See that's that's me, right me
- 5:56Speaker 2: pubably should have went Misissippi State.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And so I y'all played Old Miss this year after this, uh,
- 6:02Speaker 1: this strap that you just did. Okay, so let's get
- 6:05Speaker 1: into Alabama. It's a weird time for y'all because it
- 6:12Speaker 1: you know, I can I can tell that your fan
- 6:14Speaker 1: base is restless. And y'all, y'all went to the college
- 6:18Speaker 1: football Playoff. You go on the road and get a
- 6:21Speaker 1: good win against Oklahoma, and then you go out and
- 6:26Speaker 1: you get punked by basketball school that we're still trying
- 6:31Speaker 1: to really wrap our brain around that they actually won
- 6:35Speaker 1: the national championship in the Indiana Hoosiers. What what has
- 6:39Speaker 1: the temperature been like since the embarrassment in the Rose Bowl?
- 6:43Speaker 2: Okay, last week we featured my first radio host from Eugene,
- 6:50Speaker 2: Oregon kids younot and let me tell you why we
- 6:53Speaker 2: did this, because they also got punked by Indiana, right,
- 6:58Speaker 2: and it was like fifty five or whatever. But everybody
- 7:01Speaker 2: only forgets Alabama because we're healding different centers. I get that, yes,
- 7:03Speaker 2: we should be as we should be. So I wanted
- 7:06Speaker 2: to go out there and ask them where their fan
- 7:09Speaker 2: base is in the seven stages of grief of losing
- 7:14Speaker 2: today game okay, because the Alabama fans are still in
- 7:18Speaker 2: stage one and we've been like one hundred and eighty days.
- 7:22Speaker 2: So I finally called the audience out. I said, guys, okay,
- 7:25Speaker 2: either I'm going to have to get a sports psychologist
- 7:27Speaker 2: on the show to walk us through the seventh staates
- 7:30Speaker 2: of grief. But we're still in the first phase. We're
- 7:34Speaker 2: not even made it to anger, which is stage two denial.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I mean, we're still in shock, like because it was
- 7:43Speaker 2: it was a physical beating and there was some things
- 7:47Speaker 2: in that game that you didn't like, right, it appeared
- 7:52Speaker 2: I don't think they did, but it appeared like they quit.
- 7:56Speaker 2: It was almost like, okay, oh, come on, let's just
- 7:59Speaker 2: get this sixty minutes. And that's not acceptable in Tuscaloosa,
- 8:02Speaker 2: and it's not acceptible with Calen a boor it's not
- 8:05Speaker 2: acceptable for the Alabama fans, the coaches, and let me
- 8:08Speaker 2: tell you this, the players going through off season training
- 8:11Speaker 2: right now have heard more about Indiana than they can
- 8:16Speaker 2: ever remember it. Anytime there's a you know, there's a
- 8:19Speaker 2: need of a motivation, all you have to say is
- 8:22Speaker 2: thirty eight to three. And the players understand that that
- 8:26Speaker 2: last rep or that other lap, or that other stadium
- 8:29Speaker 2: bleacher that they've got to run is a reminder of
- 8:32Speaker 2: thirty eight to three. It has been a constant motivation
- 8:35Speaker 2: of the off of the offseason. So when you're puking
- 8:38Speaker 2: in a trash can because you've ran too many laughs,
- 8:42Speaker 2: thirty eight to three. So trust me, those players remember
- 8:45Speaker 2: thirty eight to three two. And it's been a big
- 8:48Speaker 2: focus of the off season internally, not externally, but internally
- 8:52Speaker 2: inside that billy it was a big down.
- 8:54Speaker 1: How roll tide? Ryan Fowler on The Game Tuscaloosa, he
- 8:58Speaker 1: joins us on the farm ro insurance guests on the show,
- 9:02Speaker 1: is driven by your next g MC Sierra truck at
- 9:06Speaker 1: falor GMC Pearl Brandon.
- 9:09Speaker 2: That's my cousin.
- 9:10Speaker 1: How yes, there's no doubt, yeah, Ryan Fowler Fowler, GMC.
- 9:16Speaker 1: How how much more salt in the wound is it?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Knowing that a former Alabama assistant that nobody knows in
- 9:23Speaker 1: the Alabama fan base was the head coach for Indiana
- 9:28Speaker 1: in Kurt Signetti because he was tucked way away, way
- 9:32Speaker 1: down on that staff when he was.
- 9:35Speaker 2: There, and he was not a very likable guy. You
- 9:39Speaker 2: got to remember, the coaches really didn't connect with him.
- 9:43Speaker 2: He was kind of a he was a really odd ball, right, really,
- 9:46Speaker 2: Frank kind of still he is, right, I mean, he's
- 9:48Speaker 2: still kind of got that quirkiness that is just kind
- 9:51Speaker 2: of awkward, and that's that's what he was here. I mean,
- 9:55Speaker 2: if you talked any the coaches that coach with him,
- 9:58Speaker 2: he was he was kind of a kind of an oddball. Yeah.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I mean from Greg Burn's standpoint, there has been some topics,
- 10:07Speaker 2: you know, because he was in the same hiring cycle
- 10:09Speaker 2: as Kaylyn A. Boorr. You know should Greg Burn and
- 10:12Speaker 2: you know Greg Burn well as anybody, probably better than most.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I trust Greg Burns's evaluations. I mean he's had one
- 10:19Speaker 2: strikeout when you look at coaches, and that was Brad
- 10:23Speaker 2: Bohannon that he hired from Auburn. You ever, never go
- 10:26Speaker 2: get Auburn's coaches. Okay, they get trained different, no telling
- 10:29Speaker 2: what they do. They go gamble on baseball and get
- 10:31Speaker 2: fired and all the different things. But Greg Byrn knows
- 10:33Speaker 2: how to hire coaches. You've got to trust his evaluation
- 10:36Speaker 2: process because he was brought to test the loosen to
- 10:39Speaker 2: replace Nick Staban. And my understanding is the comprehensive analytics
- 10:44Speaker 2: that he went into calculating what have you been able
- 10:48Speaker 2: to do with this much talent? What have you been
- 10:50Speaker 2: able to do with this much talent? And I do
- 10:53Speaker 2: think that he hired Kayln bore because Kayln Borr has
- 10:56Speaker 2: been able to do a lot with very little. You know,
- 10:59Speaker 2: Washington didn't have m dub didn't have this tremendous nile
- 11:03Speaker 2: fund when he got there. I think the board has
- 11:04Speaker 2: setting on record like less than one hundred thousand dollars
- 11:08Speaker 2: was in there nile fund when he got there. Uh,
- 11:11Speaker 2: and they built that up. So I just trust Greg Byrne.
- 11:14Speaker 2: When you look at hiring coaches and Klin the boor,
- 11:19Speaker 2: it's you have to applaud a man who is willing
- 11:24Speaker 2: to raise his hand and say I'll follow Nick Sabans.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Or him crazy. But yeah, yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well that that too, that too. I mean, does
- 11:34Speaker 2: this fan base is crazy? It is? And listen, he's
- 11:36Speaker 2: had a chance, he had a chance, Listen, Michigan would
- 11:40Speaker 2: have rolled out the red carpet.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Oh that was that was done? What I mean, that's
- 11:44Speaker 1: why Burn had to give him that what was it
- 11:47Speaker 1: seventy five million dollar contract or something.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't I don't think he was doing
- 11:52Speaker 2: I never believed that Nicole or a Bach. I think
- 11:54Speaker 2: she had that wrong. I think she missed that.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Maybe all I misspoke that there was heavy interest. Michigan
- 12:02Speaker 1: wanted him. How about that.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I don't think he ever engaged in anything. Jimmy Sexton
- 12:15Speaker 2: may have to use it for leverage. You know, Jimmy
- 12:18Speaker 2: Sexton does Jimmy Sexton types things and you got credit. Listens.
- 12:21Speaker 2: My fan base over here exploded when that contrast came down,
- 12:24Speaker 2: like you're extended to God, whoa, whoa, whoa, Let let
- 12:27Speaker 2: improve it. But that's Jimmy Sexon. Jimmy Sexton's not going
- 12:31Speaker 2: to not get his client a raise when his client
- 12:35Speaker 2: was wanted by multiple different people. Right, Penn State wanted him,
- 12:39Speaker 2: Michigan wanted him. But the problem with Michigan was is
- 12:42Speaker 2: they offered him a blank check for both the ni
- 12:45Speaker 2: L and UH the salary. Hey phill, the suit checks out,
- 12:50Speaker 2: and he said, no, I'm going to stay in touch.
- 12:53Speaker 2: The loose to me that believes that that he's got
- 12:56Speaker 2: something special. But I also think he ENJOYSLUSA. I think
- 13:01Speaker 2: he enjoys the environment here. He's a competitor, you know,
- 13:05Speaker 2: he's as he said, he's been doubted a lot of places.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Sure's his track record. I mean he had to work
- 13:12Speaker 1: his way up. I mean he won in the Midwest
- 13:15Speaker 1: and then and then he like you said, he won
- 13:17Speaker 1: in Washington now and it hasn't been a failure by
- 13:23Speaker 1: any stretch in Tuscaloosa. Is just like you said, he
- 13:26Speaker 1: followed standers right. And it changed as he was taking
- 13:31Speaker 1: the job. Everything changed to where you could never have
- 13:35Speaker 1: what Kirby and Saban had prior to this shift, you know.
- 13:40Speaker 1: And now we've got the water down Bama, George L.
- 13:43Speaker 1: S U will never be as deep all that. So, yeah, no,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I get it.
- 13:48Speaker 2: So And and he's going through because Nick Saban told
- 13:50Speaker 2: you he couldn't do it. Because if he couldn't do
- 13:53Speaker 2: it at the pace that he was doing it, he
- 13:55Speaker 2: wouldn't have hung up the headset.
- 13:57Speaker 1: No, I think he would have stayed a couple I
- 13:58Speaker 1: agree he would have stayed at least a few more years.
- 14:02Speaker 1: And he was like, I'm good It was a good
- 14:04Speaker 1: move though, I think for Saban to become the voice
- 14:08Speaker 1: of college football and all that. All right, So roll
- 14:10Speaker 1: tid Royn Fewler one and nine in the game Tuscaloosa
- 14:13Speaker 1: on the out of bound ship. Alabama got a transfer
- 14:17Speaker 1: two of them. But let's talk about the offensive line
- 14:19Speaker 1: transfer from Mississippi State. Javon James. He played left tackle
- 14:23Speaker 1: for Mississippi State. Evidently the Alabama offensive staff thinks enough
- 14:29Speaker 1: of him to move a freshman All American at Alabama
- 14:34Speaker 1: from right tackle to right guard, and Javin James is
- 14:38Speaker 1: going to start at right tackle for the University of Alabama.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Mississippi State transfer is that, right, Ron Fawler.
- 14:45Speaker 2: He's got a great chance because when you come out
- 14:47Speaker 2: of the spring when we asked the question, because I'd
- 14:51Speaker 2: kind of heard, hey, Michael Carroll some get bumped inside
- 14:54Speaker 2: and he played rock tackle, and I was going, hold
- 14:57Speaker 2: on a minute now that that doesn't really make sense
- 14:59Speaker 2: because they really don't have a lot of options unless
- 15:02Speaker 2: they're going to play either Nick Brooks or Ethan Fields,
- 15:06Speaker 2: which you guys know a lot about Ethan Fields. Whereas
- 15:09Speaker 2: he gonna slide is like I kept trying to go, Okay,
- 15:13Speaker 2: I know they signed some virtual offensive lineman, but not
- 15:16Speaker 2: really like starters. Now, they did get a guy from
- 15:19Speaker 2: Michigan that they think can possibly be down the road.
- 15:23Speaker 2: But I'm trying to figure out what's going on. I
- 15:26Speaker 2: keep hearing this Michael Carroll bumping inside, and it simply
- 15:29Speaker 2: is because of the confidence that they have behind Javin
- 15:33Speaker 2: James that he's since he's walked in that building, he's
- 15:35Speaker 2: been an ultimate kind of professional. Now he's an older player,
- 15:39Speaker 2: so he walks in understanding, Hey, I gotta get it,
- 15:42Speaker 2: I gotta get it right, I gotta walk in. I'm
- 15:44Speaker 2: given an opportunity. And in the spring he made them
- 15:49Speaker 2: feel comfortable enough that they moved a freshman All American
- 15:54Speaker 2: right tackle into Now that's different than All American for
- 15:58Speaker 2: the Vanderbilt people. Listen, and you guys probably don't know
- 16:01Speaker 2: a lot about that, but Freshman All America is different
- 16:03Speaker 2: than All American. He was just recognized as a freshman
- 16:06Speaker 2: by Football Writers Association All Americans, but they bumped him
- 16:09Speaker 2: inside and he really fits that role. He's more of
- 16:12Speaker 2: a guard than he is a tackle. But he had
- 16:14Speaker 2: to play tackle last year because they just didn't have
- 16:16Speaker 2: any options. And so yeah, to make him feel and
- 16:21Speaker 2: he's an IMG guy, big you know, big time recruit
- 16:24Speaker 2: was last year. But they're gonna slide him inside because
- 16:27Speaker 2: they feel so comfortable would jave And James at that
- 16:31Speaker 2: right tackle spot. And I know Mississippi State fans know
- 16:33Speaker 2: a lot about him. Not out of the eleven games
- 16:35Speaker 2: he started at left tackle. I know that was because
- 16:37Speaker 2: of injuries and some other things. But they feel comfortable
- 16:40Speaker 2: with him at that right tackle spot going into the
- 16:45Speaker 2: summer camp. And I don't think he's done anything to
- 16:49Speaker 2: kind of lose that.
- 16:50Speaker 1: So they were impressed with Javon James at right tackle
- 16:53Speaker 1: in the spring.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Right they were, they were, and everybody I've spoke to
- 16:58Speaker 2: just an ultimate kind of you know, all about football,
- 17:02Speaker 2: Hey dialed in, you know, not one of these guys
- 17:05Speaker 2: that wants to go, you know, party do this type
- 17:08Speaker 2: of you know, college kid things that he's just all football,
- 17:11Speaker 2: all business at that right tackle spot. And Adrian Clem
- 17:15Speaker 2: I'm sure has been a part of that. I hear
- 17:17Speaker 2: good things about him as far as an offensive line coach,
- 17:20Speaker 2: and maybe they just found the way to connect. But
- 17:22Speaker 2: he's really the key. Where'd he come in offensive line?
- 17:25Speaker 1: I know, y'all couldn't run block. You couldn't block me
- 17:30Speaker 1: last year as far as the running game or me,
- 17:33Speaker 1: where is this? Where's this new offensive line coach from?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Where'd he comeing from?
- 17:37Speaker 2: So Adrian Clem is a guy that's got a lot
- 17:40Speaker 2: of experience. If you remember the Oregon team a couple
- 17:44Speaker 2: of years ago, I want to say it was like
- 17:46Speaker 2: twenty twenty two, they ran the football physically. That was
- 17:52Speaker 2: Adrian Clem's offensive line. So Cayler Degore knew him from
- 17:56Speaker 2: being out on the West coast, so you spent time
- 17:59Speaker 2: in the NFL. He was going through a little bit
- 18:02Speaker 2: of a medical issue, but he came from usc so
- 18:07Speaker 2: he came from USSE. He was a defensive analyst there
- 18:10Speaker 2: last year, but he was the Patriots offensive line coach
- 18:13Speaker 2: in the NFL. He was the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line
- 18:16Speaker 2: coach multiple years.
- 18:18Speaker 1: He had an NFL pedigree. So I've only had a
- 18:21Speaker 1: couple of minutes here about I'm go.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Two, I'm go two segments Wilio three.
- 18:25Speaker 1: So and we may do that. Alabama's ranked like forty
- 18:29Speaker 1: seventh in recruiting. Is this proof that blue chip players
- 18:32Speaker 1: don't want to go to Tuscaloos anymore.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Well, no, and we were doing this yesterday. A number
- 18:39Speaker 2: of three stars these SEC schools are signing. It's crazy
- 18:44Speaker 2: how many three stars. Like if you just pick up
- 18:46Speaker 2: random Tennessee, I think they've got like thirteen or fourteen
- 18:49Speaker 2: three stars. Alabama has had a big class when it
- 18:53Speaker 2: comes to retention. I think the last two classes, I
- 18:57Speaker 2: think it's forty seven out of the last forty eight
- 18:59Speaker 2: players or here they've lost one guy back of the post, Theodore.
- 19:04Speaker 2: And what I think this is is Kaylin of Buller
- 19:08Speaker 2: saving money because you're going to have to pay some
- 19:11Speaker 2: of these younger players, because when you pay them, that
- 19:14Speaker 2: just gets them on campus, and then the first year
- 19:16Speaker 2: they perform, then you have to add money to that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I knew that it was going to be a smaller class.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I was told that it might be as few as
- 19:25Speaker 2: like twelve or fourteen. I think they may be able
- 19:29Speaker 2: to get that up to fifteen or sixteen, but it's
- 19:32Speaker 2: going to be a really super small class. Now, they
- 19:34Speaker 2: do have the number one quarterback in the country. A
- 19:37Speaker 2: lot of behave it out of Dunham Spring or Dunham
- 19:40Speaker 2: School out of Baton Rouge. They've also got another quarterback.
- 19:43Speaker 2: They fulfilled some needs, but they're not going to be
- 19:46Speaker 2: a big spender in this class. I think some of
- 19:49Speaker 2: that is they're saving it for retention for the upcoming class.
- 19:55Speaker 2: If this team performs the way that some of these
- 19:58Speaker 2: young players are expected to perform, then you're gonna have
- 20:00Speaker 2: to pay these guys like the quarterback, like quarterbacks Kielan Russell,
- 20:04Speaker 2: I got a minute and a half.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Who's going to You're playing a new quarterback. Who is
- 20:10Speaker 1: it going to be? And are you confident that he's
- 20:12Speaker 1: not gonna screw it up?
- 20:14Speaker 2: All right? There was a man passing academy this weekend.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Our friend Mike Dettilie covered Alabama. Did not send a
- 20:20Speaker 2: guy down there. That tells me that it's a true competition.
- 20:24Speaker 2: They have it, not sent one.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Okay, I got you.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, I think it's a true competition. But if
- 20:31Speaker 2: you're asking me to bet my money one thousand dollars
- 20:34Speaker 2: in Vegas, I put it on Kielan Russell. Okay, but
- 20:37Speaker 2: I'm not counting Alston back out. He's proving wrong. Three
- 20:40Speaker 2: times I thought he would get in the portal, uh twice,
- 20:43Speaker 2: he didn't do that. He's a fighter. His dad was
- 20:45Speaker 2: an army fighter pilot. He's got a fighter mentality and
- 20:50Speaker 2: he's got a skill set. He needs to learn how
- 20:52Speaker 2: to throw in the run a little bit better and
- 20:54Speaker 2: improve that accuracy. If he does, then that he's got
- 20:57Speaker 2: a shot at this job. If not, it's Keeling Russell,
- 21:01Speaker 2: the young man out of Duncanvielle High School. I think
- 21:03Speaker 2: he's he's got to get factor that it takes to
- 21:06Speaker 2: be a big time quarterback in this Klein of War system.
- 21:09Speaker 2: All right, okay, roll tip, Hey, but I want to
- 21:12Speaker 2: take up for ole Miss real quick, real quick? Okay,
- 21:14Speaker 2: Well I took a shot at him. Yeah, but I
- 21:16Speaker 2: did take up for ole Miss when the Lane Kiffin saga.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I think Lane Kiffin's a scumback, and I think he
- 21:22Speaker 2: did Ole Miss wrong. And I know you keep saying
- 21:24Speaker 2: that that I'm just taking up for ole Miss, but
- 21:26Speaker 2: I really am. I took up for old Miss over here.
- 21:29Speaker 2: I thought Lane Kiffin did you guys wrong. And if
- 21:31Speaker 2: any Old Miss fans want to get together, we'll share
- 21:34Speaker 2: some stories of Lane Kiffin and Tuscaloosa. I'll give you
- 21:37Speaker 2: guys some amo, and you give me some ammo.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Well, you've given me some ammo. However, I haven't shared
- 21:43Speaker 1: any of that on the air, but yes, uh as
- 21:46Speaker 1: some you you covered him for three years. You live
- 21:50Speaker 1: in Tuscalusa, and you've told me some stories that are unbelievable. Hey,
- 21:55Speaker 1: I want to make sure that you've got the red,
- 21:57Speaker 1: white and blue speedo ready for the SAT. Afternoon. Love
- 22:00Speaker 1: you buddy, roll Side, Yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I got it. I'm ready.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Okay, see you dude, r g R, see you all right,
- 22:07Speaker 1: Roll Tide. Ryan Fowler one hundred and nine. The game Tuscaloosa.
