Alright, what are we learning today? Lucas: Today we're learning two very useful verbs: pergi, meaning 'go', and datang, meaning 'come'. Let's start with pergi. Luna: Pergi. Like 'I go'? Lucas: Exactly. Saya pergi. I go. Let's add a place. Saya pergi ke pasar. I go to the market. Luna: Saya pergi ke pasar. Where have I heard pasar before? Oh, the market! So this is 'I go to the market'. Lucas: Perfect. Now for 'come' – datang. Dia datang ke rumah. He comes to the house. Luna: Dia datang ke rumah. So datang is 'come' and ke is 'to'. Lucas: Right. And there's a common phrase: Mari sini! Come here! Mari means 'come' as a command, and sini means 'here'. So Mari sini! Luna: Mari sini! Like calling someone over. That's easy to remember. Lucas: Let's practice. Repeat after me: Saya pergi ke pasar. Luna: Saya pergi ke pasar. Lucas: Dia datang ke rumah. Luna: Dia datang ke rumah. Lucas: Mari sini! Luna: Mari sini! I love how direct that is. Lucas: Now let's mix them. Imagine I'm at home and you're at the market. You say: Saya pergi ke rumah. I go to the house. Then I say: Mari sini! Come here! Luna: So if I'm at the market and I want to go to your house, I say Saya pergi ke rumah. And then you invite me with Mari sini! That makes sense. Lucas: Let's do a quick dialogue. I'll be A, you'll be B. A: Saya pergi ke pasar. B: Mari sini! A: Saya datang! I come! So saya datang means 'I come'. Luna: Oh, so datang can be used as 'I come' too. Saya datang. Like 'I'm coming'. Lucas: Exactly. So let's say it all together. Repeat: Saya pergi. Luna: Saya pergi. Lucas: Saya datang. Luna: Saya datang. Lucas: Saya pergi ke pasar. Luna: Saya pergi ke pasar. Lucas: Dia datang ke rumah. Luna: Dia datang ke rumah. Lucas: Mari sini! Luna: Mari sini! Lucas: Great job, Luna. Now you can tell someone to come here or say you're going somewhere. Luna: I feel so empowered. Pergi and datang. Got it. Lucas: Before we wrap, let's review the phrases one more time. Saya pergi ke pasar. Luna: Saya pergi ke pasar. Lucas: Dia datang ke rumah. Luna: Dia datang ke rumah. Lucas: Mari sini! Luna: Mari sini! Lucas: And just for fun: Saya datang! I'm coming! Luna: Saya datang! Love it. Lucas: That's it for episode 183. Practice these, and we'll see you next time. Luna: Sampai jumpa! Bye!
