- 0:02Speaker 1: See.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Look, it's best question of the week.
- 0:04Speaker 3: How do we know what the question is? Well, we
- 0:06Speaker 3: don't until you email it to us AH Radio from
- 0:09Speaker 3: hell at x ninety six dot com.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Just put best question in the subject line and I
- 0:14Speaker 2: will answer just about anything.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean not anything anything, but just about anything
- 0:19Speaker 3: of a couple radio DJ related questions here.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Oh why do they want to know that from us?
- 0:25Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Once from our good friend Zane Zaane says, good morning lords,
- 0:31Speaker 3: if you could work.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Any shift as a DJ, not six to ten am, any.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Other shift, any other shift?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, what would you want to work?
- 0:42Speaker 4: Six to midnine, seven to midnight, seven to midnight? Yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 4: I used to work that shift.
- 0:48Speaker 1: And the problem is is that there are often events
- 0:50Speaker 1: that happen during the seven to midnight that you want
- 0:53Speaker 1: to attend. Now, So, as I have been pushing for
- 0:57Speaker 1: I knew you were going to say this for.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Many many boons. We should not be on in the morning.
- 1:03Speaker 1: We should be doing the same show between three and
- 1:07Speaker 1: seven pm.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Here always said that it would be quite successful.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It would be there are more people with access to radios.
- 1:15Speaker 4: At that time.
- 1:17Speaker 2: But then when do we have dinner?
- 1:19Speaker 1: As soon as the ship's over, you go right home
- 1:21Speaker 1: and have dinner. You'd have a late dinner, late dinner.
- 1:24Speaker 4: But you see, you see why so many things don't
- 1:26Speaker 4: get done on the show because Gina has questions like that,
- 1:31Speaker 4: because I.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Love a four to thirty dinner. I'm a big fan
- 1:34Speaker 2: of the four thirty.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Gina's already into the Early Bird Special.
- 1:38Speaker 3: A big fan of that. Let's see, we've got this
- 1:42Speaker 3: one from Barry. All right, good morning lords. Hi, it's
- 1:49Speaker 3: been a grand old time listening to the show for
- 1:51Speaker 3: many years. I am a digital media major at Weber
- 1:55Speaker 3: State and I have participated in the radio station on
- 1:58Speaker 3: campus KWC our Radio dot com if you're interested. However,
- 2:04Speaker 3: I've never felt particularly well spoken, and the dynamic you
- 2:07Speaker 3: three have put together has been inspiring. Here's my question.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Do you have any tips for how to streamline such
- 2:15Speaker 3: a flow? What things have you learned over the years
- 2:17Speaker 3: that would help the next generation?
- 2:20Speaker 2: That's from Barry.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Not sure what the question is. Well, let's say, you know, so,
- 2:27Speaker 4: so Barry is listening to us and thinking, well, this
- 2:30Speaker 4: all seems so natural and it just sort of flows,
- 2:33Speaker 4: and you know, and is there some secret to that? No,
- 2:38Speaker 4: there isn't. There's really no secret to it. It is
- 2:41Speaker 4: just doing it over and over and over again, year
- 2:46Speaker 4: after year after year. You become familiar with each other's rhythms,
- 2:55Speaker 4: more comfortable, and things change, dynamics change, and you kind
- 2:59Speaker 4: of you just but.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Yeah, we're talking about having dinner at seven thirty.
- 3:03Speaker 4: That's that's a big change.
- 3:05Speaker 2: That's a big change.
- 3:06Speaker 4: That's something that's pretty massive. Wow, I bet the ratings
- 3:11Speaker 4: spike because of that.
- 3:12Speaker 3: You know, it's not just a time thing, though, And Pete,
- 3:16Speaker 3: We've been asked this question a lot.
- 3:19Speaker 2: It's chemistry. For whatever reason.
- 3:22Speaker 3: This works, the three of us here doing this works.
- 3:28Speaker 3: It's like a marriage. Sometimes you can't explain why it
- 3:31Speaker 3: is that it works. It's just it's it's chemistry. So
- 3:35Speaker 3: maybe the trick is Barry finding somebody to do that
- 3:39Speaker 3: with that you have chemistry with.
- 3:42Speaker 4: It's it's also like just but it is also time.
- 3:48Speaker 4: The band. The bands that have stayed together the longest
- 3:52Speaker 4: are the bands that they don't they know when they
- 3:55Speaker 4: just they don't. They probably don't do a lot of
- 3:57Speaker 4: things together the same way with us. We don't. We
- 4:01Speaker 4: don't party, we don't socialize. We come here and this
- 4:05Speaker 4: is what we do. And this is how we get
- 4:07Speaker 4: express ourselves to each other and then we but then
- 4:09Speaker 4: we don't. We very seldom socialize outside of works.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Well, if Berry's is starting out, I would suggest just
- 4:20Speaker 1: listening to talk shows where there's several people and instead
- 4:27Speaker 1: of just listening to what they're saying, listen to how
- 4:30Speaker 1: they're participating, you know, uh, you know, kind of be
- 4:34Speaker 1: analytical about it. It's like when I when I tell
- 4:37Speaker 1: people when they say, you know you can tell a story, say, well,
- 4:40Speaker 1: that's only because I studied and listened to some of
- 4:44Speaker 1: the best storytellers ever, you know, whether it was my
- 4:47Speaker 1: father or Bill Cosby or whoever it is, you know,
- 4:51Speaker 1: great storytellers. You learn how to tell a story. Just
- 4:54Speaker 1: you know, be analytical about it. And maybe if you
- 4:56Speaker 1: were to pay attention to some show that were talk shows,
- 5:01Speaker 1: don't listen to the content of what they're saying, but
- 5:03Speaker 1: how they particulately.
- 5:04Speaker 4: I have a suggestion because there are not many shows
- 5:08Speaker 4: like this on the radio anymore, but you know there's one.
- 5:11Speaker 4: There's a TV show. It's The Graham Norton Show. And
- 5:16Speaker 4: if you just that's a great example, if you would
- 5:19Speaker 4: just turn don't don't turn on the don't don't look
- 5:22Speaker 4: at the picture, just listen to just listen to the conversation.
- 5:27Speaker 4: It's he does what he does extremely as a British presenter.
- 5:32Speaker 3: And it's interesting because he usually has himself and then
- 5:37Speaker 3: three guests, so four people. Yeah, and that's a lot
- 5:42Speaker 3: of people that could be cross talking and interrupting.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And somehow he is able to keep that flow going.
- 5:51Speaker 4: And it's interesting too because it's people that don't necessarily
- 5:54Speaker 4: it's three people that maybe only slightly know each other,
- 5:57Speaker 4: and they're from different worlds. I was, I was listening
- 5:59Speaker 4: to one it was it was it John Cleeese and
- 6:01Speaker 4: Sydney Sweeney and you know, so just people that are
- 6:04Speaker 4: just not related at all.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I can't imagine what John Cleese and Sydney Sweeney would
- 6:09Speaker 1: have to talk about.
- 6:11Speaker 2: That's why it's interesting.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yeah, Graham asks good questions about it.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Any other I mean those were just the DJ one.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Do you want another quick one?
- 6:22Speaker 1: We could do a quick one if you got another
- 6:23Speaker 1: one that give it a quickie couple of minutes here.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Knowing what you know about how your lives have turned out,
- 6:29Speaker 3: what advice would you go back and give yourself to
- 6:33Speaker 3: either ensure you ended up where you are now or
- 6:36Speaker 3: make changes. I would say I wouldn't change a thing.
- 6:40Speaker 3: And I have had some crappy stuff in my past,
- 6:45Speaker 3: really horrible stuff that you would think, well, surely if
- 6:48Speaker 3: you could go back, that wouldn't have no because I
- 6:54Speaker 3: like where my life is now and it wouldn't be
- 6:56Speaker 3: here now if I.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Hadn't done all that stuff.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I uh, I think what I would change. It's
- 7:03Speaker 4: too personally. I couldn't. I can't really say on the
- 7:06Speaker 4: on the air. But but there's one one aspect of
- 7:09Speaker 4: my life I wish I had done something differently.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, see, there's and it had to do with my
- 7:14Speaker 1: first marriage. There's there's several things that I would have
- 7:18Speaker 1: liked to have done differently.
- 7:20Speaker 4: But again it's that sacred timeline.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Yeah you can't, you know, I mean to get where
- 7:25Speaker 1: we are now, where I'm very happy, you'd have to
- 7:30Speaker 1: change something and I don't have the time machine to
- 7:34Speaker 1: fix it.
- 7:35Speaker 3: You know, So I wouldn't do And and there's part
- 7:39Speaker 3: of the human experience where they say it's you have
- 7:43Speaker 3: to have that bad stuff HM to appreciate the good.
- 7:47Speaker 2: If you have a care free life with no problems.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I've said before.
- 7:53Speaker 3: About marrying my husband, and I get teased all the
- 7:58Speaker 3: time for talking about how perfect.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I wonder he is and how great my marriage is.
- 8:02Speaker 3: If I had married him in college when I first met.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Him, we would not have the marriage we have today. Really, No,
- 8:11Speaker 2: was it because he was different or you both of us?
- 8:13Speaker 2: We're both we're both divorced once before.
- 8:17Speaker 3: And I'm not saying everybody should, you know, have a
- 8:19Speaker 3: starter marriage, but there's something about.
- 8:21Speaker 2: The starter marriage where.
- 8:24Speaker 3: You're like, oh, okay, that dynamic I don't want again.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I would do this differently.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I would marry somebody who's different in this way. And
- 8:33Speaker 3: I'm grateful for that first marriage that I wouldn't have.
- 8:38Speaker 2: The great one I have now without that.
- 8:40Speaker 4: I don't know if I could go back in time,
- 8:41Speaker 4: I would have told my first wife, don't marry that guy.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Somebody should have told her, do not marry him? Well,
- 8:54Speaker 4: all right? Is that not everything? That's good?
- 8:58Speaker 2: Stuff like that?
- 9:01Speaker 3: We could be talking about your email that you send
- 9:04Speaker 3: us radio from hell at X ninety six dot com.
- 9:09Speaker 4: All right,
