- 1:58The L&A Studio Tour takes place this year, September 7th and 8th from 10am to 5pm each
- 2:03day.
- 2:04This will be the first time studios are hosting live music along with the event.
- 2:08The L&A Studio Tour gives participants the chance to meet artists in their studios and
- 2:12homes, learn about their artistic process and purchase new artwork from the artists.
- 2:16The event features over 32 artists located in 17 studios throughout the county.
- 2:21The L&A Studio Tour is a self-guided tour leading through rural areas with historic
- 2:26towns, villages and hamlets.
- 2:28Amanda Lloyd, one of the owners of the Hive Artist Collective in Bath, notes the four
- 2:32members they'll be featuring in their studio.
- 2:35The L&A Studio Tour is really cool.
- 2:37So they have over 30 artists a part of that program.
- 2:42And so only four of the Hive members will be showing in our gallery.
- 2:47So you'll really get a chance to see a little bit more from myself, Amanda Lloyd, David
- 2:54Slack, Lisa Leskin and Shannon Dickey.
- 2:57Lloyd describes the rest of the weekend and where to find other artists in the county.
- 3:01The rest of the tour you'll be able to see other Hive artists in their actual studios
- 3:08and other artists, local artists in their studios from NapaNee and from Amherstview,
- 3:16Bath.
- 3:17It's a really, really cool, fun weekend to kind of take a local adventure.
- 3:25Lloyd notes some of the fun activities happening in the studios throughout the tour.
- 3:29You get to meet the artists and all of them have different cool things running in their
- 3:32studios like Little Raffles and Giveaways.
- 3:35And a lot of the studios have music.
- 3:38We have music all day, which is really cool for both days, Saturday and Sunday.
- 3:42Lloyd describes the welcoming nature of artists in their studios.
- 3:45All the artists just love chatting about their art.
- 3:48So it's always fun to have people come in and, you know, we get a chance to talk to
- 3:55the community and get to know us.
- 3:57And yeah, we just want to be, we just want to share.
- 4:00That's all we want to do.
- 4:02For Amherst Island Radio and the Local Journalism Initiative, I'm Ted Evans.

- 4:17The first ever Bath Art Fest is taking place Saturday, September 14th, hosted by the Hive
- 4:22Artist Collective in Centennial Park.
- 4:25Over 30 artists will be featured from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. alongside live music.
- 4:29One of the owners of the hive, Amanda Lloyd, explains how the day will be set up.
- 4:33We're setting it up a little differently than other art festivals.
- 4:36We're calling it kind of like a home village vibe.
- 4:39So all of the tents are going to be on the perimeter of the park and facing the center.
- 4:44And then in the center is going to be the music.
- 4:47We're going to have this painting for kids.
- 4:49We have a big raffle.
- 4:50Most of the Hive artists have donated a piece to be raffled off.
- 4:55Lloyd described some of the other types of vendors that will be at the event.
- 4:58We have jewelers.
- 4:59We have ceramists.
- 5:00We have potters.
- 5:02We have some fabric artists, too, who are going to be there.
- 5:06So you can shop your heart's content there and then maybe wander down into the village
- 5:11for some coffee and some food and some more shopping experience.
- 5:17Lloyd explains the experience they hope to create and notes some of the local businesses
- 5:21involved.
- 5:22It's a village day.
- 5:23That's what we just want everyone to come out and hang out at the village.
- 5:26We want to hang out by the water to bring the kids down.
- 5:28We really want people to come in, check out local artists, but then take a stroll down
- 5:35to the village because you wouldn't be able to run this without the businesses who kind
- 5:41of have sponsored us.
- 5:43So we're hoping people will go down to the commons, books on Maine, the Lodge for Coffee.
- 5:49Lloyd also noted they hope to make it an annual event.
- 5:52Bath Art Fest will take place rain or shine.

- 8:15I do want to shout out our local drink producers.
