- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on everybody? It's Romeo. We talked a
- 0:02Speaker 1: little bit today about an ice chest, man. You always
- 0:04Speaker 1: got to take an ice chest when you're going out
- 0:06Speaker 1: of town, right? You're going to stay at a hotel,
- 0:08Speaker 1: you got to bring that ice chest with you. Also
- 0:11Speaker 1: a good story. Everybody should have one good story that
- 0:13Speaker 1: you and your friends just retell all the time.
- 0:16Speaker 2: What is your great story?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Okay, so I want to talk about divorce. A lot
- 0:21Speaker 1: of you guys have gone through divorces. Some, I don't
- 0:24Speaker 1: know if there's ever a good divorce. I always hear
- 0:27Speaker 1: about the bad ones, but a friend of mine who
- 0:30Speaker 1: I went to high school with, went to college with.
- 0:33Speaker 1: He's going through a divorce. Now, we all kind of,
- 0:36Speaker 1: his wife, we all kind of grew up together. We
- 0:38Speaker 1: grew up in the same town. We didn't all go
- 0:40Speaker 1: to the same high schools, but we grew up in
- 0:41Speaker 1: the same town. We all kind of knew each other.
- 0:43Speaker 1: And then in college, we all kind of got to
- 0:45Speaker 1: become better friends. My buddy ends up hooking up with her,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and they end up getting married out of college. Now,
- 0:51Speaker 1: both fairly successful. But here's the deal. Now, just the preferences.
- 0:57Speaker 1: He's a millionaire, okay? Part of that success comes from
- 1:02Speaker 1: her because she had a really good job as well.
- 1:04Speaker 1: They both went into the same field. Well, at a
- 1:08Speaker 1: certain point, they had a couple of kids, boy and
- 1:10Speaker 1: a girl. And she decided that she was going to quit.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Oh, they or she, I don't know. I think she decided.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I don't know if he really wanted her to. She
- 1:22Speaker 1: was going to stop working. He made plenty of money.
- 1:26Speaker 1: She was going to raise the kids, okay? So they did. Well,
- 1:32Speaker 1: Ten years later, they're going through a divorce.
- 1:35Speaker 2: She hasn't worked in ten years, okay?
- 1:38Speaker 1: Well, he calls me on Friday. He called me Friday,
- 1:44Speaker 1: Friday night. He calls me, and he says, and then
- 1:47Speaker 1: this all started. They started this. They separated earlier in
- 1:51Speaker 1: the year. So he calls me, and his dad, which
- 1:56Speaker 1: I've known his dad and his family for a long time, his.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Dad, who's passed away, left him. a very expensive classic car.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I mean, something that's like, I think if he sold it,
- 2:06Speaker 1: it would be somewhere around $ 100, 000 car. And his dad
- 2:11Speaker 1: was a car guy. So his dad leaves him this car.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And my buddy goes, you know what? I'm going to
- 2:18Speaker 1: save this car for my son. He has a son
- 2:20Speaker 1: and a daughter. Now, the daughter obviously doesn't want the car.
- 2:23Speaker 1: The son does. And the son's a little older. So
- 2:29Speaker 1: He says, I'm going to save this car for my son, right?
- 2:32Speaker 2: So this classic car, which.
- 2:34Speaker 1: His dad gave him. Check out this vindictive chick, right?
- 2:40Speaker 1: This is why he called me Friday, because he says, hey,
- 2:43Speaker 1: she wants me to sell the car so she can
- 2:47Speaker 1: get half the money in the divorce. And I was
- 2:53Speaker 1: just thinking, man, you really, this car was... This guy
- 2:57Speaker 1: was never going to keep this car from his dad.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It was always going to go to his kid. Always.
- 3:02Speaker 1: And now she's so vindictive over this divorce situation that
- 3:07Speaker 1: she's willing to take from her own child. What kind
- 3:11Speaker 1: of ruthless chick does that, right? I just, my God,
- 3:16Speaker 1: these divorces. Anyway, so I don't know. So now I'm
- 3:21Speaker 1: involved in it. The reason he called me is he said,
- 3:25Speaker 1: asked me if I would buy it from him. The car.
- 3:30Speaker 1: With the anticipation of him buying it back from me
- 3:33Speaker 1: after the divorce is all done. Now, obviously, I don't
- 3:35Speaker 1: have $ 100, 000 to buy a car, but he can sell
- 3:38Speaker 1: me the car for whatever he wants. You know? Now,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm going to get in trouble.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I don't know how, I don't know how far they
- 3:45Speaker 1: are along in this divorce. I'm hoping he's smart enough
- 3:47Speaker 1: to know that there is nothing yet in paper that
- 3:51Speaker 1: says he has to you know, give him the proceeds.
- 3:57Speaker 2: So I bought the car.
- 3:59Speaker 1: So it's, uh, anyway, I own this car now and
- 4:05Speaker 1: I'm going to, whenever, you know, he gets through the divorce,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I'll sell it back to him because he wants to
- 4:10Speaker 1: give it to his kid. But what kind of woman
- 4:14Speaker 1: do you have? Mother, do you have to be, to
- 4:18Speaker 1: be that spiteful that you're going to drag your kid
- 4:22Speaker 1: through it?
- 4:24Speaker 2: Boy, that just seems shameless to me.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You know? But these divorces, man, boy, they can get
- 4:32Speaker 1: pretty contentious. And who knows how long this thing's going
- 4:36Speaker 1: to go or what's going on with it. But, man,
- 4:40Speaker 1: it's wild. That's just wild.
- 4:43Speaker 2: R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, you were talking about your buddy and the
- 4:48Speaker 1: divorce and the car, the expensive car. Well, how do
- 4:53Speaker 1: you know your buddy's just not trying to screw over
- 4:55Speaker 1: his soon-to-be ex-wife? Because if it's a car that's that expensive,
- 5:01Speaker 1: she does deserve half of it.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Does she?
- 5:08Speaker 3: Does she?
- 5:10Speaker 1: It's a car that was given to my friend before
- 5:15Speaker 1: they got married. His father gave it to him before
- 5:19Speaker 1: they got married. And it's an expensive car. It's a
- 5:21Speaker 1: classic car, okay? And his whole plan from the get
- 5:28Speaker 1: go was to give it to their son. So what,
- 5:34Speaker 1: what are you talking about here? What do you mean? She's,
- 5:39Speaker 1: she's how shy and spiteful do you have to be
- 5:43Speaker 1: to steal from your own kid?
- 5:46Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying. It's not like, look, man, they
- 5:49Speaker 2: got a lot of money.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Um, I mean, don't get me wrong. They got, she's
- 5:57Speaker 1: going to get her cut, right? Because he's a millionaire.
- 6:00Speaker 1: She stopped working so she could raise kids. She's going
- 6:04Speaker 1: to get her cut. I mean, that's just what I'm saying.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I'm saying specifically about the fact that she wants a
- 6:09Speaker 1: piece of this car that was never intended. He's not,
- 6:13Speaker 1: that was first of all, given to him by his
- 6:15Speaker 1: father before they got married. Second of all, he always
- 6:18Speaker 1: planned to give to his son. And she wants him
- 6:22Speaker 1: to sell it so she can get half of it. So, no,
- 6:27Speaker 1: what are you talking about? How spiteful do you have
- 6:30Speaker 1: to be to steal from your kids? You know? Yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 1: that's just dirty. All right, 8-4-2-5-4-7-7. Hey, Rome, let's fill
- 6:41Speaker 1: up the ice chest and go on a road trip, Rome.
- 6:47Speaker 5: No, yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 1: But how? I mean, I understand. You women just got
- 6:54Speaker 1: to relax, man. Take your L's at some point. That's
- 6:59Speaker 1: the problem with divorce. These women think they're owed more
- 7:02Speaker 1: than they deserve. And then all of a sudden, this
- 7:05Speaker 1: is what you come up with. Stealing from your own kid.
- 7:09Speaker 6: R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7.
- 7:09Speaker 1: All right, so a friend of mine, he and his
- 7:14Speaker 1: wife separated earlier this year on... They've been together since college.
- 7:21Speaker 2: They got married.
- 7:22Speaker 1: They got a couple of kids. Both graduates, college graduates,
- 7:25Speaker 1: had really well jobs. Now, they make a lot of money.
- 7:27Speaker 1: He makes much more than her now at this point.
- 7:30Speaker 1: But they do make good money. And she ended up
- 7:32Speaker 1: quitting her career because they had a couple of kids,
- 7:36Speaker 1: a boy and a girl. And she wanted to stay
- 7:39Speaker 1: at home, raise kids, which was fine. And now they're
- 7:44Speaker 1: getting a divorce. But one of the things that's come
- 7:47Speaker 1: up is that he has this classic car that his
- 7:51Speaker 1: father left him before they got married. And it's about
- 7:56Speaker 1: a $ 90, 000, $ 100, 000 car, I guess, depending on the market.
- 7:58Speaker 1: But he was always planning on giving it to his son.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Was never going to keep it. Well, she wants him
- 8:04Speaker 1: to sell it now. And it just... She wants him
- 8:12Speaker 1: to sell it, and she wants half the money.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Which.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Seems a little despicable, right?
- 8:18Speaker 1: Considering the car was always intended to go to the child,
- 8:25Speaker 1: to their child. I mean, I don't know how she
- 8:28Speaker 1: could take money out of her child's pocket, but that
- 8:30Speaker 1: just seems a little despicable to me. Hey, Rome, all
- 8:34Speaker 1: your responses to the divorce topic are going to prove
- 8:37Speaker 1: how ruthless and spiteful women can be. I guarantee you
- 8:41Speaker 1: all the responses justify this woman's are also spiteful, petty women.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Signed a non-spiteful, petty woman. Oh, signed a non-spiteful, petty woman.
- 8:56Speaker 4: I get it.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't... I just can't believe she would do
- 9:01Speaker 1: that to her own child. That's a little despicable. Yo, Rome,
- 9:07Speaker 1: sounds like something a woman would say.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 1: It's pretty pathetic that somebody would do that to their
- 9:15Speaker 1: own kid, okay? I understand divorces are crazy, and I
- 9:20Speaker 1: understand that, you know, when there's the money that's involved
- 9:24Speaker 1: with this one. But to take it from your child?
- 9:29Speaker 1: You want to be spiteful against your husband? I get it.
- 9:32Speaker 1: But to take it from your child, especially something that
- 9:34Speaker 1: his dad gave him before they got married, and he's
- 9:37Speaker 1: passed away since? I mean, that seems a little disrespectful
- 9:41Speaker 1: and just... crazy.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Divorce, right?
- 9:45Speaker 1: Divorce can be crazy. Divorce can last a long time,
- 9:48Speaker 1: depending how much money's involved, depending on how spiteful you
- 9:52Speaker 1: are with your ex, you know, kids involved, alimony involved.
- 9:57Speaker 1: But boy, this woman. and unfortunately, she's a friend of mine.
- 10:03Speaker 1: She's married to another friend of mine, and she had
- 10:05Speaker 1: just taken it to a whole new level, at least
- 10:07Speaker 1: as far as I'm concerned. So both my friends graduated college,
- 10:11Speaker 1: got good jobs. She decided that she wanted to stop working.
- 10:15Speaker 1: His business is just flourishing where they live. And I'm
- 10:19Speaker 1: talking about he brings in millions a year. We're not
- 10:23Speaker 1: talking about chump change, right? So his dad left him
- 10:28Speaker 1: this classic car, and it could be anywhere between $ 90, 000
- 10:32Speaker 1: to $ 100, 000 car. His dad was a car guy growing up,
- 10:35Speaker 1: left him this car, right? The guy never intended and
- 10:39Speaker 1: left it to him.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Why?
- 10:40Speaker 1: The way before he got married. Never intended to keep it.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Always had planned to give it. They got a couple
- 10:44Speaker 1: of kids. She stopped working, by the way, so she
- 10:47Speaker 1: can take care of the kids. That's what she wanted
- 10:49Speaker 1: to do. Okay, that was her decision. Now, he always
- 10:54Speaker 1: intended to give the car to his kid, to the
- 10:57Speaker 1: oldest son, which he has a son and a daughter.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Just pass it down, right? Well, she wants him to
- 11:02Speaker 1: sell it so that she can get part of it,
- 11:04Speaker 1: so she can get half that money in the divorce.
- 11:08Speaker 1: That seems spiteful. Now you're just taking it, stepping on
- 11:11Speaker 1: your kid out of spite for your ex-husband, which is fine,
- 11:16Speaker 1: you know, not to step on your kid, but I
- 11:19Speaker 1: get it. You want to be mad at your ex,
- 11:22Speaker 1: your ex-husband or wife for whatever reason. You want to
- 11:24Speaker 1: fight about it and go through some nasty, bitter divorce.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I get it.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Okay.
- 11:29Speaker 1: A lot of feelings, emotions involved, but don't step on
- 11:32Speaker 1: your kid to do it. Hey, Rome. Hey, that guy
- 11:36Speaker 1: should sell that car to you. A buddy that he
- 11:40Speaker 1: trusted for like 10 bucks and have you give it
- 11:43Speaker 1: to his son as a gift as soon as the
- 11:45Speaker 1: divorce is finalized. I sure give that gold digger her $ 5. Well,
- 11:52Speaker 1: first of all, I don't think she's gold digging out
- 11:56Speaker 1: of this car because this is something his dead father
- 11:59Speaker 1: gave him.
- 11:59Speaker 2: His father's dead.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Gave him because this was one of the last things
- 12:05Speaker 1: he had to give his son. And so my buddy
- 12:08Speaker 1: always intended to pass it down to his kid. Never
- 12:11Speaker 1: intended to keep it. Nothing ever was going to happen
- 12:15Speaker 1: other than him pass it.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Down to his kid.
- 12:17Speaker 7: Okay.
- 12:18Speaker 1: And so she's not being gold digging. She's being spiteful
- 12:23Speaker 1: and hateful and using and stepping on her son to
- 12:27Speaker 1: show hate towards her soon to be ex-husband is what
- 12:31Speaker 1: she's doing.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And just so you know, I did buy the car already.
- 12:37Speaker 1: It's sitting at my buddy's house. We're hiding it over there.
- 12:39Speaker 1: So I don't know what the legal ramifications are going
- 12:42Speaker 1: to be, if there are any, but I don't know
- 12:44Speaker 1: if Apparently, since the divorce isn't final, I'm just assuming
- 12:49Speaker 1: that there's nothing she can do about it. But yes, no,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I own the car now. And we're hiding it at
- 12:54Speaker 1: my buddy's house. So if anybody shows up at my house,
- 12:57Speaker 1: we don't know.
- 13:00Speaker 2: We don't know nothing about it.
- 13:02Speaker 6: I know.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Romeo, you're talking about it on the radio. Yeah, but
- 13:04Speaker 1: you never know. That doesn't do nothing.
- 13:07Speaker 4: All right.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I don't even know if the car's in my name.
- 13:10Speaker 8: So, hey.
- 13:11Speaker 1: When it comes to divorce, man, I know a lot
- 13:13Speaker 1: of you guys have gone through some bad divorces. I
- 13:15Speaker 1: don't know if anybody's gone through a great divorce, but
- 13:18Speaker 1: bad divorces, I know a couple of people that have
- 13:20Speaker 1: gone through some.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Especially when you've got a little bit of money in your.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Pocket, things go sideways. Women get spiteful, and the way
- 13:28Speaker 1: women get spiteful is they try to take your money,
- 13:31Speaker 1: even if they don't deserve it. And one of the
- 13:36Speaker 1: things that's going on right now with a friend of mine,
- 13:38Speaker 1: him and his wife are getting ready. You know, they're
- 13:40Speaker 1: going through some process. They split up early in January.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I don't know the extent of the process. But he's
- 13:46Speaker 1: had this car, this classic car that his dad gave
- 13:49Speaker 1: him when he passed away. And this was before they
- 13:53Speaker 1: got married. And so he's been holding on to it
- 13:56Speaker 1: for their son.
- 13:57Speaker 2: They got a son.
- 13:58Speaker 1: He was never going to keep the car, but the
- 13:59Speaker 1: car's expensive. Probably around $ 90, 000, $ 100, 000 car. And so he
- 14:04Speaker 1: was always going to give this. Well, now that him
- 14:07Speaker 1: and his wife are going through this divorce, she wants
- 14:11Speaker 1: the car sold and she wants a cut of her
- 14:15Speaker 1: son's car. He was never going to do anything with it.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I mean, he's held on to this car for maybe
- 14:22Speaker 1: 20 years just with the anticipation of giving it to
- 14:26Speaker 1: their kid. And she's over here trying to get paid
- 14:30Speaker 1: off her son because she's mad about the divorce. Hey, Rome,
- 14:36Speaker 1: she's money hungry. No mother would take from her son.
- 14:39Speaker 1: She's wrong for wanting half of it, even if he
- 14:43Speaker 1: didn't intend to give it to his son. It was
- 14:45Speaker 1: left to him by his dad. She doesn't deserve that.
- 14:48Speaker 1: She's wrong for that. I'm a woman, and I could
- 14:52Speaker 1: never take something like that.
- 14:53Speaker 2: It's just wrong.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Well, you're a better woman than my friends, soon to
- 14:59Speaker 1: be ex-wife. I mean, I should say she's my friend.
- 15:02Speaker 1: You're a better woman than my friend is. She's just
- 15:04Speaker 1: being a jackass at this point. But it was something.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It was something that was... See, that's a good question, though.
- 15:12Speaker 1: That was... The way I see it is like you
- 15:17Speaker 1: see it. It was something from his dad. There is.
- 15:20Speaker 4: There is.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Certain things in life that I believe are family things,
- 15:28Speaker 1: family heirlooms.
- 15:30Speaker 2: That get passed down, right?
- 15:32Speaker 1: I have a lot of them in my family, actually,
- 15:34Speaker 1: on both sides of my family.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Both sides of my family.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Have a lot of things that they've accumulated over the
- 15:42Speaker 1: years and that stay in the family. I guess you
- 15:46Speaker 1: call them family heirlooms. They will stay in the family.
- 15:51Speaker 1: And spouses that marry into the family have tried to
- 15:55Speaker 1: get that stuff.
- 15:56Speaker 2: But you can't.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Because, yeah. So you guys probably know what I'm talking about.
- 16:03Speaker 1: There's probably stuff in your family that whoever you marry
- 16:06Speaker 1: should never get it. And when they're spiteful and try
- 16:10Speaker 1: to get it, they're doing it out of spite. They're
- 16:11Speaker 1: not doing it out of money. They're just doing it
- 16:14Speaker 1: to hurt you because they're mad. And that's... But this
- 16:19Speaker 1: is this scenario where she's stepping on her son, her
- 16:24Speaker 1: own son, to be spiteful, bitter, angry. What kind of
- 16:30Speaker 1: cold hearted woman do you have to be? I've known
- 16:32Speaker 1: this woman for 20 plus years. I've never known her
- 16:35Speaker 1: to be like this. It's ridiculous. Good morning, Rome. Hey,
- 16:40Speaker 1: come on now. You left the best part out. How
- 16:43Speaker 1: much did you buy the car for? Hope a dollar,
- 16:47Speaker 1: that would be the best thing to give her 50 cents.
- 16:55Speaker 1: It wasn't very much. It wasn't a dollar, but it
- 16:57Speaker 1: wasn't very much. It was nowhere close to what it's worth. Rome, actually,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I don't think he's going to tell her that he's
- 17:10Speaker 1: just going to say it's gone. So I don't think
- 17:12Speaker 1: they're at a point where He owes her anything. I
- 17:16Speaker 1: think she's telling him this. And so he was smart
- 17:20Speaker 1: enough to call me. Hey, Rome, she's just a gold digger,
- 17:23Speaker 1: a gold digging hoe. How, Rome? All she cares about
- 17:27Speaker 1: is the money. I don't think it's the money. I
- 17:29Speaker 1: really don't. I think it's spiteful. I think that when
- 17:36Speaker 1: you look at these women, when they go through divorces
- 17:40Speaker 1: in this manner, when there is money involved, I think
- 17:42Speaker 1: a lot of you think she's just being gold diggy.
- 17:46Speaker 1: But the reason she's, I think the reason these women
- 17:50Speaker 1: act like this is obviously the only thing they can
- 17:53Speaker 1: take from him. So the only way she can get
- 17:58Speaker 1: even in her mind is to take as much money
- 18:01Speaker 1: as possible. I don't think she really wants the money.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I think she wants to hurt him out of spiteful
- 18:07Speaker 1: because she's spiteful, okay? So it's kind of one of
- 18:10Speaker 1: those catch 22 things. The only way to get at
- 18:12Speaker 1: him is the money. So she looks like a gold digger,
- 18:14Speaker 1: but the reality is that's the only way to hurt
- 18:16Speaker 1: him is to take his money. So I think it's
- 18:20Speaker 1: a situation like that. All right, 8-4-2-5-4-7-7. A-Rome, it's not
- 18:27Speaker 1: a big deal. If he makes millions, anyone he knows
- 18:30Speaker 1: could buy it from him. And once it's settled, put
- 18:34Speaker 1: it He'll put it back under his name. But yeah,
- 18:38Speaker 1: some women are petty. And that's what it is. Petty, spitefulness, whatever.
- 18:42Speaker 2: We're good.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Well, I don't got the car. Somebody's got the car.
- 18:46Speaker 1: But no, I'm just saying, you know, you also got
- 18:49Speaker 1: to find somebody you can trust, you know? So anyway, yeah,
- 18:54Speaker 1: it just, you know, some people don't handle divorce well.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I don't know why people get so upset over a divorce.
- 19:02Speaker 1: It didn't work out. Okay, so what? I mean, relationships,
- 19:05Speaker 1: it happens sometimes. You know, these people get bitter and
- 19:09Speaker 1: mad and can't move on. And I just think, well,
- 19:14Speaker 1: you know, life has its ups and downs.
- 19:16Speaker 2: You got to figure it out.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Last night, I was talking to a friend of mine.
- 19:20Speaker 1: He got back from Vegas. They went to Vegas for
- 19:22Speaker 1: the weekend. So they got back. I think they got
- 19:26Speaker 1: back yesterday afternoon. And he stops by Monday Night Football.
- 19:32Speaker 1: And so we're over at Just Wing It talking, and
- 19:34Speaker 1: we're talking about, you know, he's in Vegas, talking about
- 19:37Speaker 1: everything that's going on. I was asking him about stuff,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and he goes, he was mad because his hotel room
- 19:45Speaker 1: where he stayed at, you know how they have the
- 19:48Speaker 1: mini fridges? Well, he was mad because the fridge was full.
- 19:53Speaker 1: So he couldn't put his liquor in the refrigerator. You know,
- 19:59Speaker 1: he brought a case of beer, brought some liquor. He
- 20:02Speaker 1: didn't have a fridge to put it in to keep
- 20:03Speaker 1: it cool. So I guess he called down to the
- 20:07Speaker 1: front desk, asked him about it, and the front desk
- 20:09Speaker 1: wanted to charge him 50 bucks or something for an
- 20:13Speaker 1: empty mini fridge.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Well, okay.
- 20:18Speaker 1: He's mad about it. He's telling me this. He goes, man,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I was mad. He goes, man, I couldn't keep my
- 20:24Speaker 1: beer cold. I had to, you know, go buy beer.
- 20:27Speaker 1: It's a hustle. It's a scam.
- 20:28Speaker 2: It's blah, blah, blah. I'm like, bruh, what?
- 20:33Speaker 1: Who doesn't take an ice chest with them? You take it.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Why didn't you take your ice chest? You fill up
- 20:40Speaker 1: your ice chest. You take it in the room. You
- 20:43Speaker 1: don't got to worry about no fridge, mini fridge, full
- 20:45Speaker 1: or not. What is wrong with you? Well, I was,
- 20:49Speaker 1: you know, I can't take an ice chest. It was
- 20:51Speaker 1: a nice hotel we stayed at. I couldn't roll my
- 20:54Speaker 1: ice chest through that. Why? And if it's a nice
- 20:58Speaker 1: hotel you stay at and you so scared that you're
- 21:01Speaker 1: going to be embarrassed. about rolling your ice chest through,
- 21:04Speaker 1: then why can't you just afford the liquor? Why are
- 21:09Speaker 1: you taking your own alcohol to begin with? If you're
- 21:14Speaker 1: so high-sididdy that you can't, you know, take your ice chest. Bro,
- 21:17Speaker 1: I got an ice chest in my truck right now
- 21:19Speaker 1: ready to go. Who doesn't take an ice chest everywhere
- 21:23Speaker 1: with them? I don't know. This fool grew up in Vegas.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I don't know where he grew up or what his
- 21:28Speaker 1: daddy taught him. But my God, what is wrong with you?
- 21:34Speaker 1: If you go into Vegas or any hotel room, if
- 21:36Speaker 1: you go in anywhere for the weekend, you fill up
- 21:40Speaker 1: your ice chest. If you go into a quinceanera, if
- 21:47Speaker 1: you go into a wedding reception, you fill up your
- 21:49Speaker 1: ice chest. What is wrong with you, man? You mad
- 21:56Speaker 1: you got to pay $ 50 to get an empty refrigerator
- 22:00Speaker 1: brought up to your room so you can keep your
- 22:01Speaker 1: beer cold when you could just took your ice chest.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Ah, no, but you don't want to be embarrassed, right,
- 22:07Speaker 2: for having an ice chest.
- 22:09Speaker 1: What is wrong with you?
- 22:10Speaker 2: Go get a Yeti ice chest. Those are expensive.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I see these nice $ 500 Yeti ice chests on wheels.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Go get you one of those. Then you won't feel
- 22:18Speaker 1: as embarrassed when you walk through a hotel lobby with
- 22:21Speaker 1: an ice chest to your hotel room.
- 22:24Speaker 2: He's this fool. I couldn't believe he told me that
- 22:26Speaker 2: story yesterday. I really couldn't.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Man, you take an ice chest. We live in Bakersfield.
- 22:31Speaker 1: We take an ice chest everywhere we go. A friend
- 22:33Speaker 1: of mine was telling me that he went to Vegas, right?
- 22:38Speaker 1: And he wanted a, he took a case of beer
- 22:40Speaker 1: and some liquor and stuff, but he didn't take it
- 22:42Speaker 1: in an ice chest. He just took it. Just was
- 22:45Speaker 1: going to put it in the fridge in the hotel room.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Well, guess what?
- 22:49Speaker 1: He went to some nicer hotel. Apparently in the fridge
- 22:52Speaker 1: was a mini bar. So I guess the hotel was
- 22:54Speaker 1: going to charge him 50 bucks to bring up an
- 22:57Speaker 1: empty refrigerator for him to put his stuff in. He
- 23:01Speaker 1: was mad about it. Why didn't you just take your
- 23:04Speaker 1: ice chest? You take an ice chest. We take ice
- 23:06Speaker 1: chests everywhere we go. It's just, that's just common.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Good morning, Al. What's going on?
- 23:14Speaker 4: Hey, Romeo.
- 23:16Speaker 5: My comment's about that guy that was complaining about the
- 23:19Speaker 5: fridge at Vegas.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Oh, no, he's a friend of mine.
- 23:21Speaker 1: He's an idiot, but you okay?
- 23:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 23:24Speaker 6: No, I've been to those hotels, like Caesars especially. They
- 23:27Speaker 6: have their little, their.
- 23:30Speaker 6: Stocked little fridge that you got to pay for. You
- 23:33Speaker 6: touch it. Even if you move it, they charge you
- 23:35Speaker 6: a restocked repeat. But yeah, I already know that.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I was like, I take my ice chest.
- 23:39Speaker 8: They got big old spa tubs. I fill that up
- 23:41Speaker 8: with ice. Or I'll put the sink. They give you
- 23:44Speaker 8: so many sinks.
- 23:45Speaker 5: It's for an ice chest.
- 23:47Speaker 9: And they got the ice on the floor.
- 23:48Speaker 8: You fill them up. Put your beer in there.
- 23:50Speaker 1: That's what this dummy said. He said he was going
- 23:52Speaker 1: to fill up his trash can with ice. I said,
- 23:55Speaker 1: take your damn ice chest, man.
- 23:57Speaker 5: Yeah, or ice chest.
- 23:58Speaker 8: Roll it through.
- 23:59Speaker 5: It's a Yeti.
- 23:59Speaker 6: Come on.
- 24:00Speaker 8: You got to keep ice chest as you got to.
- 24:03Speaker 8: Don't you love your beer?
- 24:04Speaker 7: Dude, I will roll anything.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Through a beer. Through a hotel lobby. I do not care.
- 24:11Speaker 7: Or just tip the bow guy five bucks, ten bucks.
- 24:14Speaker 8: He'll take it up there for you.
- 24:15Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
- 24:19Speaker 8: Other than that, I get three packs.
- 24:21Speaker 6: I fill them up with a bag of ice.
- 24:23Speaker 5: And you see me strolling through the casino floor with.
- 24:25Speaker 8: A bag of ice and.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Tall hands of Modelo. That's awesome, man. Thanks for calling.
- 24:32Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about, man.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Cares if you're rolling your ice chest through, man. God,
- 24:39Speaker 1: he's such a dummy. I got to tell you a
- 24:43Speaker 1: funny story about an ice chest, by the way. So
- 24:45Speaker 1: this was years and years ago when my little niece,
- 24:49Speaker 1: my sister's kid, she went to this little school. I
- 24:52Speaker 1: think it was like a kindergarten or pre-kindergarten or something.
- 24:56Speaker 2: I don't remember.
- 24:57Speaker 1: It was a school you had to pay for. So
- 25:01Speaker 1: my sister asked, hey, they're going on a field trip.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Would you mind taking her You know, me and my brother-in-law,
- 25:07Speaker 1: my brother-in-law both had to work.
- 25:08Speaker 2: They couldn't go.
- 25:10Speaker 1: And I said, I'll take her.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Yeah, of course.
- 25:11Speaker 1: They were going to some orchard outside of town where
- 25:17Speaker 1: they live. And they were going to pick fruit or
- 25:19Speaker 1: something like that. I can't remember what it was exactly.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I just remember being in an orchard. So my sister,
- 25:25Speaker 1: I come to pick her up. My niece and I
- 25:30Speaker 1: have an ice chest packed. I got snacks. I got
- 25:34Speaker 1: juice boxes. I got water. I got everything, right? Because
- 25:39Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on. I'm not going to
- 25:41Speaker 1: let my little niece hang if she's hungry, if she
- 25:43Speaker 1: wants something.
- 25:45Speaker 2: I'm stacked, right?
- 25:47Speaker 1: So we go to this farm, and my niece says
- 25:52Speaker 1: she's hungry. So I'm like, I got it. Drop the tailgate,
- 25:56Speaker 1: open the ice chest. Next thing you know, whole class
- 25:59Speaker 1: is hungry, right? Teacher's pissed. Lunch is until 1130. I'm like,
- 26:07Speaker 1: there's six or five. I think there might have been
- 26:09Speaker 1: four or five at the time, whatever they were. I
- 26:12Speaker 1: sat there. So I got like eight little kids in
- 26:14Speaker 1: the back of my truck, eating all the snacks, drinking
- 26:16Speaker 1: all the juice.
- 26:17Speaker 2: The teacher is pissed off. So I get a phone
- 26:22Speaker 2: call from my sister.
- 26:24Speaker 1: What are you doing? The teacher just called me and said...
- 26:27Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm feeding these damn kids. What do you mean,
- 26:30Speaker 1: what am I doing? They're hungry. And man, needless to say,
- 26:36Speaker 1: I never got to take my niece on another field trip,
- 26:39Speaker 1: but screw them.
- 26:42Speaker 2: You carry an ice chest, man. No matter what you're doing.
- 26:46Speaker 1: When it comes to taking your ice chest, you should
- 26:48Speaker 1: take your ice chest everywhere you go, regardless of how
- 26:51Speaker 1: you feel about it or what people think you, I
- 26:54Speaker 1: should say. My buddy was in Vegas, and apparently he
- 26:58Speaker 1: didn't take an ice chest. He just took his beer
- 27:00Speaker 1: and his liquor. He was going to throw it in
- 27:01Speaker 1: the refrigerator in the hotel, but the hotel, I guess,
- 27:05Speaker 1: was full. Mini bar, right? And he was mad about it,
- 27:09Speaker 1: so he called down. They were going to charge him,
- 27:11Speaker 1: I think, 50 bucks or something like that, and they
- 27:13Speaker 1: were going to bring up another fridge empty for him
- 27:15Speaker 1: to put his liquor in, which I know seems a
- 27:18Speaker 1: little scandalous, but why the hell don't you just take
- 27:21Speaker 1: your ice chest? Oh, he was too embarrassed to take
- 27:24Speaker 1: an ice chest through the hotel lobby. What are people
- 27:27Speaker 1: going to think of him? First of all, ain't nobody
- 27:29Speaker 1: paying attention. You don't normally give a damn about you
- 27:32Speaker 1: walking through the hotel lobby with an ice chest. Don't
- 27:35Speaker 1: nobody care? Second of all, get over yourself. My God.
- 27:40Speaker 1: That's what you get. Rd4254, 7-7, yo, Rome. Raider Rob
- 27:46Speaker 1: removes their liquor and puts his in place.
- 27:50Speaker 2: You can't do that no more, though.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Once you touch that liquor in that, they got it
- 27:55Speaker 1: all electronically censored now when you open that fridge in
- 27:58Speaker 1: the hotel. Once you touch that bottle, it's yours. They
- 28:01Speaker 1: charge you for it. Hey, Romeo, the real problem is
- 28:05Speaker 1: it sounds like he has no street smarts. Why couldn't
- 28:09Speaker 1: he just put his beer in one of the sinks
- 28:12Speaker 1: and cover it in ice? Yeah, that's a very good point.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Why couldn't you just do that?
- 28:19Speaker 3: Or.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Even better, just take your damn ice chest. It's that simple.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Who doesn't take it? I take my ice chest everywhere
- 28:32Speaker 1: I go. You know, I mean, I just, that's what
- 28:35Speaker 1: you do. Because you always got to be ready. R-A-4-2-5-4-7-7,
- 28:41Speaker 1: we used to take our ice chest on Fremont Street,
- 28:45Speaker 1: be rolling it around with us. Now they don't let
- 28:49Speaker 1: you take it. They want you buying the beer from
- 28:51Speaker 1: the strip. Oh, I didn't know that. They should let
- 28:53Speaker 1: you roll with your ice chest. I didn't know that.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Well, I got a Yeti backpack.
- 28:59Speaker 1: What about those backpacks with the ice chest, with the
- 29:01Speaker 1: ice that you can put your beer in or put
- 29:05Speaker 1: your water in?
- 29:05Speaker 2: What about those? They let you walk around with those?
- 29:08Speaker 1: That's wild. I didn't know they used to let you
- 29:10Speaker 1: roll with an ice chest. But why would you not
- 29:13Speaker 1: take your ice chest everywhere you go? You know.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I used to roll when I'd.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Drive a couple of hours.
- 29:23Speaker 1: If you drive more than a couple of hours, you
- 29:25Speaker 1: got to take your ice chest with you because you
- 29:27Speaker 1: might have to stop. You might have to stop and
- 29:29Speaker 1: have a drink along the side of the road. I
- 29:32Speaker 1: guess people probably don't do that no more though, huh? R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7.
- 29:35Speaker 1: All right.
- 29:35Speaker 2: So I was telling you.
- 29:40Speaker 1: About one of my dumbass friends who went to Vegas,
- 29:43Speaker 1: and he was mad because they wanted to charge him
- 29:47Speaker 1: for a refrigerator. What happened was he had taken some
- 29:51Speaker 1: beer and some liquor that he wanted to put in
- 29:53Speaker 1: the fridge. Well, these refrigerators are the one that he
- 29:56Speaker 1: got in his room, right? The one that he got
- 30:01Speaker 1: in his room was one of the, you know, was
- 30:03Speaker 1: one of those mini bars. And he was mad that
- 30:06Speaker 1: there was no room to put his liquor in there, right,
- 30:09Speaker 1: to keep it cold.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Well, so he calls. They said they'll bring him one up.
- 30:14Speaker 1: They'll bring an empty fridge up to his room, but
- 30:17Speaker 1: they're going to charge him for it.
- 30:19Speaker 2: And he was pissed.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Well, no, that's on you, bro, not on the hotel.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I get why you're mad, but why would your dumb
- 30:25Speaker 1: ass not take it? Oh, I didn't want to roll
- 30:28Speaker 1: my ice chest through the hotel lobby.
- 30:30Speaker 2: That's embarrassing. No, it's not.
- 30:33Speaker 1: None of you are going to take your own booze.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Nobody's even paying attention to you. Good morning, hot. What's
- 30:38Speaker 1: going on?
- 30:40Speaker 9: Romeo, that's funny because Brady Dave takes his ice chest everywhere.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Everywhere.
- 30:45Speaker 9: Everywhere and my wife always always criticizing me about it
- 30:48Speaker 9: she's like why don't.
- 30:48Speaker 7: You leave that thing i said no no what if
- 30:50Speaker 7: i need a.
- 30:50Speaker 9: Cold drink what if you know i gotta stay ready.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Exactly that's who said who doesn't take their i got
- 30:56Speaker 1: one in my truck right.
- 30:57Speaker 10: Now everywhere and i'll tell you what it came in
- 31:02Speaker 10: handy this saturday i went to a party and my
- 31:05Speaker 10: wife tells me you don't have to take that ice
- 31:07Speaker 10: shift they brought alcohol they have beer I said, yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 10: but you know, I like to, I know my limit.
- 31:13Speaker 9: I'll take a six pack after that.
- 31:14Speaker 8: I'm done.
- 31:15Speaker 10: Yeah. So I took the ice chest just with maybe
- 31:19Speaker 10: my flask and a few bottles.
- 31:23Speaker 7: I get there.
- 31:24Speaker 10: There's so much Modelo's.
- 31:26Speaker 9: I started filling up my ice chest. I ended up
- 31:28Speaker 9: leaving with like a 12 pack.
- 31:31Speaker 10: I mean, it came in handy. There was beer left over,
- 31:33Speaker 10: and they told me, hey, Dave, if you want to
- 31:35Speaker 10: take some beer, go ahead.
- 31:36Speaker 6: I was like, I already got my issue.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I already got mine.
- 31:40Speaker 7: I got my issue already.
- 31:42Speaker 8: You ain't got to tell me twice.
- 31:44Speaker 10: So anybody that ain't packing an ice chest, you're missing out.
- 31:49Speaker 1: You're just an idiot. This boy, he's just an idiot.
- 31:53Speaker 1: My boy's just embarrassed. I mean, come on. Yeah.
- 31:57Speaker 10: And Vegas doesn't discriminate against that backpacking.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Nobody's watching you. Nobody even gives a damn.
- 32:02Speaker 10: Yeah, they're not going to pay attention because I walk
- 32:05Speaker 10: around with a backpack, too, with my alcohol in there.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I will tell you a funny story, Dave, about this, though,
- 32:10Speaker 1: because I got some high-stodiddy friends. They think they're all
- 32:13Speaker 1: doing something. And we went as a big group a
- 32:16Speaker 1: few years back to Vegas. I took my ice chest
- 32:19Speaker 1: because I knew I was staying in the left wing
- 32:21Speaker 1: of some palazzo where the closest bar was 15 floors away.
- 32:26Speaker 1: So I took my ice chest. All of these jackasses
- 32:30Speaker 1: are talking about how rich they are and how good
- 32:32Speaker 1: they are. Knocking on my door. Hey, can we get
- 32:33Speaker 1: a beer? Nope. Take your ass. You were laughing at me.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Telling me I'm cheap. Telling me I'm cheap. Telling me
- 32:41Speaker 1: I can't afford nothing because I brought my ice. Take
- 32:44Speaker 1: your ass down to the bar.
- 32:45Speaker 10: Nope.
- 32:47Speaker 7: Got to work smarter, not harder.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 32:48Speaker 7: All right.
- 32:49Speaker 8: Get out of here.
- 32:51Speaker 2: But that's what I'm saying.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I remember that. I went to Vegas.
- 32:54Speaker 2: But I take a nice chest everywhere, though.
- 32:56Speaker 1: But it worked out that time that I was, my
- 32:59Speaker 1: room was like on the 20th floor or something. And
- 33:02Speaker 1: all these jackasses were giving me hell talking about, oh,
- 33:06Speaker 1: why are you so ghetto? You're so cheap. You're this,
- 33:08Speaker 1: you're that. Well, then they come knocking on my door
- 33:12Speaker 1: because they don't want to go down 20, take the
- 33:14Speaker 1: elevator down to.
- 33:15Speaker 2: You know, they don't want to leave their room, you know,
- 33:17Speaker 2: to go down and get a beer.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Well, that's not me. Remember me? I'm the ghetto cheap
- 33:23Speaker 1: one who doesn't want to take your ass on down
- 33:25Speaker 1: the elevator.
- 33:28Speaker 2: R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I am not embarrassed to take an ice chest anywhere
- 33:32Speaker 1: at all.
- 33:32Speaker 8: Good morning, God.
- 33:33Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 33:33Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Good morning, Romeo. Hey, what's up?
- 33:38Speaker 3: Do you know who this is?
- 33:40Speaker 9: Yeah, it's Deidre.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Hey, that's my baby.
- 33:43Speaker 6: That's my baby.
- 33:44Speaker 3: I haven't seen you in a long time.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Well, that's because you ain't where you've been.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Oh, I've been.
- 33:50Speaker 9: I've been around, you know. But I was calling in, too,
- 33:58Speaker 9: for that ice chest thing.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:01Speaker 7: What is wrong with him?
- 34:02Speaker 8: That is the thing.
- 34:04Speaker 9: Boy, you know you supposed to have some drinks and stuff.
- 34:06Speaker 6: You need to bring your.
- 34:07Speaker 9: Whatever it is you're going to put them in and
- 34:09Speaker 9: bring it in the dang old hotel.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Exactly. Exactly.
- 34:14Speaker 10: I don't understand how a grown-ass man can lie there.
- 34:17Speaker 7: I know.
- 34:18Speaker 1: What is wrong with him?
- 34:21Speaker 9: Look, I even went with Wienerschnitzel yesterday, right? They have
- 34:26Speaker 9: the cutest little Wienerschnitzel cooler bag.
- 34:28Speaker 8: Think I didn't buy that shit?
- 34:30Speaker 3: It's in my car right now. Yeah, so I got
- 34:37Speaker 3: my stuff, too, and I'll take a bag like that, too,
- 34:40Speaker 3: everywhere I go.
- 34:40Speaker 9: And some chairs be in my freaking trunk.
- 34:43Speaker 11: How about that?
- 34:43Speaker 1: I don't know why people get us so embarrassed. Liquor's expensive.
- 34:47Speaker 7: It sure is.
- 34:49Speaker 11: I was.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I was at the arena the other night for something,
- 34:55Speaker 1: and it was like $ 13, $ 18 a beer or something.
- 34:59Speaker 1: I went to the liquor store on Saturday night and
- 35:01Speaker 1: bought three Tallboys for $ 8. Oh, my goodness.
- 35:05Speaker 9: My friends just went to this little free concert over.
- 35:08Speaker 4: The weekend, and they said the drink was.
- 35:10Speaker 9: $ 15 and was watered down.
- 35:14Speaker 3: That's why we be stuffing stuff.
- 35:16Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 35:16Speaker 1: That's why we bring our ice chests. Or a wiener
- 35:21Speaker 1: schnitzel bag. I'm going to go give him one of those. Yeah, Romeo,
- 35:25Speaker 1: it's fun.
- 35:25Speaker 3: It's cute.
- 35:25Speaker 9: I got a little hot dog to go with.
- 35:28Speaker 10: It, too.
- 35:30Speaker 8: That lady said, oh, my God, thank you.
- 35:32Speaker 9: Because I was like, that's so cute. It's real perfect
- 35:34Speaker 9: for my car.
- 35:35Speaker 1: That's hilarious. All right, teacher.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Thanks for coming.
- 35:39Speaker 9: I'll talk to you later, okay?
- 35:41Speaker 1: All right. Have a good one.
- 35:42Speaker 9: Yeah, man.
- 35:43Speaker 1: I mean, somebody just told me right now. They were
- 35:46Speaker 1: talking about, yo, Rome, I take beer from home.
- 35:49Speaker 2: I ain't paying $ 11 for.
- 35:50Speaker 1: A beer in Vegas. I don't care what people think.
- 35:53Speaker 1: I mean, liquor's expensive. Let's be honest, okay? I don't
- 35:56Speaker 1: care how much money. I mean, look, I used to
- 35:59Speaker 1: go to college. I didn't have much money. I still
- 36:02Speaker 1: don't have a lot of money, but I used to
- 36:03Speaker 1: take my food with me when we go to concerts
- 36:06Speaker 1: because I couldn't afford to buy the snacks at the
- 36:09Speaker 1: concerts or whatever we went somewhere. And people would laugh
- 36:13Speaker 1: at me, but I couldn't afford it. But you know what?
- 36:15Speaker 1: Still to this day, I will take stuff because even
- 36:17Speaker 1: if I can't afford it, I get my own stuff,
- 36:21Speaker 1: what I like, and I don't have to overpay. It's
- 36:27Speaker 1: not about being cheap. Well, sometimes it's about being cheap,
- 36:30Speaker 1: but I mean, come on, man. If you got the
- 36:34Speaker 1: choice of buying a tall boy for $ 18 or three
- 36:36Speaker 1: for eight, What are you going to do?
- 36:43Speaker 2: Just take it with you. What are you embarrassed about?
- 36:46Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, weren't you the one that said if you
- 36:48Speaker 1: can't afford it, you shouldn't be going? Yeah, I said
- 36:52Speaker 1: that before. Like, if you go to a ball game,
- 36:54Speaker 1: don't complain about, you know, beers, what are they, $ 20
- 36:57Speaker 1: tall boys? Don't complain about it if you're at the
- 36:59Speaker 1: Dodger game or if you go down to Dignity Health
- 37:02Speaker 1: and the beers cost what they cost.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Yes, I did say that.
- 37:07Speaker 1: But going to Vegas and taking your ice chest to
- 37:09Speaker 1: your hotel room It's not being cheap. It's being smart.
- 37:15Speaker 1: I mean, if there's another option for you to save
- 37:17Speaker 1: money and not waste it on alcohol, then yes, take
- 37:21Speaker 1: that option. Bringing an ice chest is an option. Okay?
- 37:26Speaker 2: So yeah, I get it.
- 37:27Speaker 1: If I got to go somewhere where they don't let
- 37:29Speaker 1: me take my ice chest and I got to buy beers,
- 37:32Speaker 1: then you're right. If I can afford it, I shouldn't
- 37:34Speaker 1: be there. I shouldn't afford it. I shouldn't complain about it.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But this fool's talking about how he had to pay
- 37:41Speaker 1: $ 50 or something for an empty fridge brought up to
- 37:45Speaker 1: his room so he can keep his beer cold when
- 37:47Speaker 1: you could have just brought your ice chest. They make rollers.
- 37:50Speaker 1: In fact, they got a nice one at Dick's right now.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I saw one at Dick's. I saw one somewhere else, too,
- 37:56Speaker 1: a Yeti one on wheels. It's like I.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Haven't seen one of those yet.
- 38:01Speaker 1: But, yeah, so we're having two different conversations here.
- 38:09Speaker 2: R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7. He probably roamed.
- 38:12Speaker 1: He probably only has a 65-quart ice chest and doesn't
- 38:15Speaker 1: have a personal size ice chest with wheels or insulated backpack.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I got about 15.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I probably got about 20 ice chests in my garage
- 38:25Speaker 1: right now.
- 38:25Speaker 2: You could have borrowed one. This dummy.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I mean, that's just what you do.
- 38:30Speaker 2: You bring an ice chest.
- 38:33Speaker 1: We go, me and a bunch of friends, we all
- 38:35Speaker 1: go to Pismo. for a weekend to play golf, and
- 38:41Speaker 1: one friend gets the hotel on the beach. You know
- 38:45Speaker 1: that hotel right there? The balcony is on the beach.
- 38:51Speaker 1: You cross the boardwalk. One friend, and we just all
- 38:54Speaker 1: put our ice chests right there on his balcony. That's
- 38:57Speaker 1: where we hang out. Hey, Rome, this weekend I was there,
- 39:02Speaker 1: and I took all my beers and my girl's white
- 39:05Speaker 1: claws in a backpack. The minibar fridge was full, so
- 39:08Speaker 1: I put ice in the sink and put my beverages
- 39:12Speaker 1: in the sink, and I drank good all weekend. But
- 39:15Speaker 1: why did you take a backpack? Why didn't you take
- 39:17Speaker 1: an ice chest? Well, I guess you can carry your
- 39:21Speaker 1: backpack when you're walking around. You don't have to go
- 39:23Speaker 1: back to the room, right? But if there's another, when
- 39:26Speaker 1: it comes to liquor, beer, whatever it is, White Claws,
- 39:30Speaker 1: your girl stuff, I mean, if you can avoid overpaying
- 39:36Speaker 1: and take your own, then why wouldn't you?
- 39:39Speaker 2: Because you're embarrassed of an ice chest? That's just stupid.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, can you give a shout-out to my daughter, Liliana? Liliani?
- 39:47Speaker 8: Liliani?
- 39:48Speaker 1: It's her 14th birthday. All right, 14. Happy birthday. About
- 39:53Speaker 1: time you get her an ice chest, right? What did
- 39:56Speaker 1: you got here? Hey, Rome, back in the day, I
- 39:59Speaker 1: think my wife couldn't have weighed more than a buck 15.
- 40:03Speaker 1: She snuck into Chipotle. She snuck into Chipotle burritos into
- 40:08Speaker 1: a Condors game for us. She had hidden them in
- 40:11Speaker 1: her bra. Oh, God.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Can I just tell you one other thing.
- 40:16Speaker 1: About your bra? And I just, maybe I'm wrong about this.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Speaking of bras, why do you women stick your phones
- 40:24Speaker 1: in your bra?
- 40:24Speaker 2: Is that nasty? I don't know.
- 40:26Speaker 1: That just seems nasty to me for some reason. You
- 40:29Speaker 1: stick your phones in your bra. That's, I don't know what,
- 40:32Speaker 1: I don't know what that is, but that just seems dirty. Anyway, R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7-8, Rome.
- 40:36Speaker 1: What you think about this? My husband and I, We
- 40:43Speaker 1: had to go to a wedding over the summer. It
- 40:45Speaker 1: was one of my nieces.
- 40:47Speaker 2: It was an.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Alcohol-free wedding because they don't drink. So my husband took
- 40:53Speaker 1: his own ice chest and just stuck it under the
- 40:55Speaker 1: table with beer in it. I was so embarrassed that
- 40:59Speaker 1: he did that. Nobody really paid much attention to it.
- 41:03Speaker 1: I just knew it was there, Rome. Do you think
- 41:06Speaker 1: that's okay? I do think that's okay. If you're going
- 41:11Speaker 1: to invite me to a wedding, in fact, I'll tell
- 41:13Speaker 1: you a funny story. I went to a beautiful wedding.
- 41:17Speaker 1: It might have been last year. I think it was
- 41:20Speaker 1: last year.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I can't remember.
- 41:21Speaker 10: It was either.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it was... I think it.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Was last year, yeah.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Beautiful wedding. It was out on this resort area. They
- 41:31Speaker 1: had houses and cabins that we stayed in. It was
- 41:33Speaker 1: just beautiful. But it was alcohol-free because the kids didn't drink.
- 41:37Speaker 1: The kids that got married didn't drink, right?
- 41:40Speaker 6: So.
- 41:41Speaker 1: About halfway through, I asked the father of the bride.
- 41:43Speaker 2: I said, do you mind if I go.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Down to the liquor store and buy a 12-pack?
- 41:48Speaker 2: Well, a 30-pack.
- 41:51Speaker 9: He goes, no, man.
- 41:52Speaker 2: What are you talking about?
- 41:53Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yeah, hell yeah. He goes, my family, because everybody was
- 41:57Speaker 1: staying in these cabins that the reception was next to.
- 42:00Speaker 2: And they were just going to get their own liquor
- 42:01Speaker 2: in their cabin. But I was trying to be respectful.
- 42:03Speaker 2: But no, they were like, no, hell no. Go get
- 42:05Speaker 2: your beer.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, if you go into a dry wedding
- 42:11Speaker 1: and you're not dry, you know, you don't got your chip,
- 42:15Speaker 1: then no, go ahead. It's okay to take it.
- 42:19Speaker 8: All right.
- 42:22Speaker 1: I mean, don't be getting drunk and flaunting and being
- 42:24Speaker 1: a jackass, you know, be, you know, sly about it,
- 42:26Speaker 1: but no, hell no. What's going on?
- 42:29Speaker 8: Romeo, Steeler Tyrone. Hey, Tyrone.
- 42:32Speaker 1: What up, brother? I was just talking about you last night.
- 42:35Speaker 3: What's up?
- 42:35Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, why? Now, Wild Patriots, Moss. That's all right. Hey,
- 42:41Speaker 8: check us out, bro. You know you just started.
- 42:46Speaker 1: What you mean?
- 42:47Speaker 8: So now when I go to Vegas, I'm going to
- 42:49Speaker 8: recognize everybody from Bakersfield walking around with an ice check.
- 42:53Speaker 10: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 42:59Speaker 8: That's going to be the new thing. When I see
- 43:02Speaker 8: him with that ice chest, I'm going to be like,
- 43:04Speaker 8: Vegas Steel, Romeo Show, huh?
- 43:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Not only, I end up usually driving to Vegas,
- 43:11Speaker 1: so when I get off that ride, I pull out
- 43:13Speaker 1: my ice chest, open a beer while we unload in
- 43:15Speaker 1: the car. Sit right there.
- 43:18Speaker 8: Hey, look. You know, I drive for a living. So
- 43:22Speaker 8: my ice chest, I got the new one. You plug in.
- 43:25Speaker 8: It can be a freezer or a refrigerator. I can
- 43:28Speaker 8: drop this thing down to four below.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Dang, I ain't got that kind of money. But okay.
- 43:33Speaker 8: I'm just saying, though, bro. You got to get that
- 43:35Speaker 8: new ice chest. You got to get that new one.
- 43:38Speaker 8: You plug it in. Everything stay cold all the way there.
- 43:41Speaker 8: You ain't got to worry about no ice.
- 43:44Speaker 2: I'm going to have to look into that one.
- 43:46Speaker 8: Yeah, that's right, baby. Hey, y'all be good. Have a
- 43:49Speaker 8: good one.
- 43:49Speaker 1: All right, Tyrone.
- 43:50Speaker 8: Later. Later.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Man, I don't got me no plug-in ice chest. I
- 43:56Speaker 1: got me a Yeti, though. I do like that Yeti. Hey, Ron,
- 44:00Speaker 1: what's up? Oh, I already read that one. All right, R-A-4-2-5-4-7-7.
- 44:05Speaker 1: You sent me here. Yo, Ron, the phone, the bra thing,
- 44:10Speaker 1: our hands are full, and my bra holds it for me.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Or I don't have pockets in my bra. What is
- 44:16Speaker 1: nasty about it? Oh, what?
- 44:18Speaker 2: I don't have pockets in my bra. What is nasty?
- 44:21Speaker 1: That's sweat. And that's what's nasty about it. When you
- 44:24Speaker 1: stick stuff in your bra. I remember I was at somewhere.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Where was I? I was over on the south side
- 44:30Speaker 1: of town somewhere. And Floyd's Hardware had a sign that
- 44:35Speaker 1: said no bra money. You can't pull money out. They
- 44:39Speaker 1: won't accept money pulled out of your bra.
- 44:41Speaker 2: That's just nasty.
- 44:42Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 44:43Speaker 2: All right, 8-4-2-5-4-7-7. Good morning, Hop. What's going on?
- 44:47Speaker 8: Good morning, Romeo.
- 44:48Speaker 11: Hey, what up, man?
- 44:49Speaker 1: Hey, man.
- 44:50Speaker 3: I used to talk about you taking your beer to
- 44:54Speaker 3: the beach.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Yeah, well, yeah.
- 44:56Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I go every other weekend. I go with
- 45:00Speaker 9: the kids, and you spend money at Pismo. I mean,
- 45:02Speaker 9: it's expensive.
- 45:04Speaker 3: So I have it a habit.
- 45:05Speaker 5: We go, and we'll take backpacks, and we'll take.
- 45:09Speaker 3: I think just mostly backpacking and put the beer inside
- 45:11Speaker 3: because now they make backpacks with the ice chest inside.
- 45:14Speaker 8: Oh, absolutely.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I got two of them.
- 45:16Speaker 9: Yeah, so we take those and, you know, with the food,
- 45:18Speaker 9: we get that food stamp card ready and we just
- 45:20Speaker 9: go shopping at Walmart.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 45:23Speaker 8: Why not?
- 45:24Speaker 1: Go into the beach, hang out.
- 45:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, so if you're going to go and
- 45:29Speaker 5: you want to have the money and spend it, why
- 45:30Speaker 5: not use, like you said, use the ability that you
- 45:32Speaker 5: have to save money?
- 45:34Speaker 1: Oh, 100%. Yeah, I don't, well, because people are jackasses.
- 45:39Speaker 1: They want to judge you like, no, if I don't
- 45:41Speaker 1: got to spend the money, why would I? Yeah, no,
- 45:43Speaker 1: I get it.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, we take sandwiches with the kids and all,
- 45:47Speaker 3: but people be looking at you giving this, oh, because
- 45:49Speaker 3: they have all this dinner and all, but hey, I
- 45:51Speaker 3: try to save some money. I got four kids, man.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but you know how people are. They want
- 45:54Speaker 1: to step on you to make themselves feel better.
- 45:57Speaker 5: Hey, but hey, at least we got you to back
- 45:59Speaker 5: us up.
- 46:00Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 46:02Speaker 1: I don't give a damn, bro. I will roll up
- 46:04Speaker 1: anywhere on my ice chest, my beer, my food, and
- 46:07Speaker 1: not give a damn about what you think.
- 46:10Speaker 5: Hey, man, that's why we love you.
- 46:11Speaker 1: That's why I love you.
- 46:13Speaker 3: That's why I love you, brother.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Have a good day. You too, man. R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7. You should
- 46:19Speaker 1: never care what somebody thinks about you when you're doing you,
- 46:22Speaker 1: you know? I hope that every single one of you
- 46:26Speaker 1: listening has a great story to tell. A crazy story,
- 46:31Speaker 1: a wild night, a wild weekend. I don't know, just
- 46:35Speaker 1: something crazy happened to you. I have a lot of them.
- 46:43Speaker 1: I have a lot of wild things I've done in
- 46:46Speaker 1: my life. Probably why the show, I can get away
- 46:49Speaker 1: with doing this show for so many years is because
- 46:51Speaker 1: I've been through a lot.
- 46:52Speaker 2: I've seen a lot. I've done a lot, good and bad.
- 46:56Speaker 1: You know, I could tell you stories that you wouldn't
- 47:00Speaker 1: even believe I've been through. I mean, I could start
- 47:03Speaker 1: my boy. Oh, my boy T-Bone. Thomas Ingram. My buddy T-Bone.
- 47:11Speaker 1: We met years ago. We raced BMX bikes together. Yeah,
- 47:15Speaker 1: we raced BMX.
- 47:16Speaker 2: We were friends. We're still friends, actually.
- 47:19Speaker 1: But this fool, the first time I used to hang
- 47:22Speaker 1: out with T-Bone, nobody would go with T-Bone because he
- 47:24Speaker 1: was a punk rock dude.
- 47:26Speaker 2: He was a dirtbag.
- 47:27Speaker 1: He just was, you know, just dreads, just crazy dude,
- 47:34Speaker 1: you know.
- 47:35Speaker 2: He was, it was so funny.
- 47:39Speaker 1: He took me to see, do you guys remember Metallica?
- 47:43Speaker 1: He took me to see Metallica before they were huge
- 47:48Speaker 1: in a basement in the Bay Area. The basement didn't
- 47:53Speaker 1: even have a floor, a dirt floor. I didn't even
- 47:55Speaker 1: know a house could have a dirt floor.
- 47:57Speaker 2: I saw metallic.
- 48:00Speaker 1: I didn't even know who they were. I wasn't really
- 48:03Speaker 1: into that kind of music, but he was, he was just, Oh,
- 48:05Speaker 1: just into that hardcore punk. He took me to some spots, boy. And, um, yeah,
- 48:13Speaker 1: I got all kinds of wild stories. Then I got
- 48:15Speaker 1: in a raid. This is before I got into radio. Um,
- 48:20Speaker 1: I remember one time I was sitting at a stage,
- 48:22Speaker 1: sitting along, just sitting by a stage at a car show,
- 48:27Speaker 1: and next to me was a Leon R.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Kelly. Just standing next to me, I look over, and
- 48:30Speaker 2: it's a Leon R. Kelly, and I'm like, damn, it's
- 48:33Speaker 2: a Leon R.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Kelly. I'm trying to think of some of the crazy
- 48:38Speaker 1: stories I got. But everybody should have a great story, right? Like,
- 48:45Speaker 1: just you and your friends, everyone. Like, I could tell
- 48:47Speaker 1: you a story, me and my friends, We used to
- 48:50Speaker 1: go out clubbing, but we wouldn't club in our own
- 48:53Speaker 1: town because in the, you know, up in the Bay Area,
- 48:56Speaker 1: all the clubs were spread out, different cities, every club.
- 48:59Speaker 1: You know, sometimes this club would be hot, that club
- 49:01Speaker 1: would be hot in a different town. So we'd have
- 49:03Speaker 1: to roll out to, you know, it might be a
- 49:04Speaker 1: half hour drive to go to the club. That was popping.
- 49:09Speaker 2: So we would go to the club.
- 49:12Speaker 1: One time I ended up in, where the hell did
- 49:16Speaker 1: we end up? We ended up in Redwood City. Was
- 49:18Speaker 1: it Redwood? Not Redwood City. gosh, I can't think of
- 49:23Speaker 1: where we ended up, but we ended up in this town,
- 49:26Speaker 1: about a half hour, 45 minutes away from the house,
- 49:30Speaker 1: and got left there, my boy was just like, look man,
- 49:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna hook up with this girl, he was driving,
- 49:36Speaker 1: so they took off, And we were just stuck in this.
- 49:40Speaker 2: It might have been Daly City.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Was it Daly City? I can't remember where it was exactly. But, yeah,
- 49:47Speaker 1: me and two of my boys were just stuck there.
- 49:49Speaker 1: We had to figure out how to get home. I mean,
- 49:53Speaker 1: we ended.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Up getting home.
- 49:53Speaker 1: We called somebody, and we ended up getting home. Oh,
- 49:56Speaker 1: I can tell you a crazy story. Back in the day,
- 50:01Speaker 1: you remember, a lot of you won't remember this, but
- 50:03Speaker 1: back in the day, San Francisco had this huge earthquake.
- 50:08Speaker 2: I think the Giants were in the World Series. I
- 50:10Speaker 2: don't remember what year. It was 90.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Me and my boy Al, we were in San Jose.
- 50:16Speaker 1: We stopped to get gas in the town that we
- 50:20Speaker 1: lived in, which is about 30 minutes from San Jose.
- 50:25Speaker 1: The earthquake hits. We don't think much of it. We
- 50:28Speaker 1: just go, hey, because we're used to earthquakes. We go,
- 50:32Speaker 1: I got enough gas to get to San Jose to
- 50:34Speaker 1: the bike track. So we roll to the bike track.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Come to find out, it was a huge earthquake. Everything
- 50:42Speaker 1: shut down.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Guess what? We don't have enough gas to get home.
- 50:46Speaker 1: So we're stuck in San Jose because of this disaster
- 50:49Speaker 1: for like 10 hours. So, yeah, man, I've been through
- 50:56Speaker 1: some things.
- 50:57Speaker 2: I got some great stories to tell you guys.
- 51:00Speaker 1: R-8-4-2-5-4-7-7.
- 51:02Speaker 2: You got a good story?
- 51:03Speaker 1: Who's got a good story, man? If you don't have
- 51:05Speaker 1: a good story, I feel sorry for you because that
- 51:07Speaker 1: means you haven't really lived life or done anything that,
- 51:11Speaker 1: you know, you.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Should get out a little more.
- 51:15Speaker 1: R-8-4-2-5-4-7-7. What's the best story you tell? What's the story
- 51:19Speaker 1: that you and your friends tell every single time you
- 51:23Speaker 1: get together?
- 51:25Speaker 9: Hey, Romeo.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Hey, Romeo.
- 51:27Speaker 11: That was in 81 because I was getting choked out. Wait, what?
- 51:33Speaker 11: I was getting choked. My husband, that's when we first
- 51:36Speaker 11: kind of got married. And I was getting choked out.
- 51:38Speaker 11: And they was having the World Series. And the Bay
- 51:41Speaker 11: Bridge had crashed.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 11: That was in 81. I know it so well because
- 51:46Speaker 11: it was the day I was getting choked out. And
- 51:48Speaker 11: I was like, okay, God, stop this, okay?
- 51:51Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. That's not a good
- 51:59Speaker 1: story to tell everybody. Oh, my God.
- 52:04Speaker 11: They don't know who I am.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Oh, wow. That's awesome. Yeah, yeah.
- 52:10Speaker 3: 81.
- 52:10Speaker 5: That was something.
- 52:11Speaker 3: I remember that like it was yesterday.
- 52:14Speaker 10: Wow.
- 52:15Speaker 3: The walls got to clicking.
- 52:17Speaker 11: He looked up like, okay.
- 52:20Speaker 6: Wow.
- 52:20Speaker 11: To this day, though, to this day now, I'm taking care.
- 52:24Speaker 4: Of him because he's disabled now.
- 52:28Speaker 8: Oh, my God.
- 52:31Speaker 1: All right. Thanks for calling.
- 52:33Speaker 11: Let another earthquake come, I'll leave him.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Oh, jeez.
- 52:38Speaker 7: Wow.
- 52:39Speaker 4: All right.
- 52:40Speaker 6: I know.
- 52:40Speaker 4: All right.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Okay.
- 52:41Speaker 6: Thanks for calling.
- 52:41Speaker 11: That's my story of the day, and I'm sticking with it.
- 52:44Speaker 1: I love it. Thanks for calling. Oh, my God.
- 52:48Speaker 2: You shouldn't tell every story. R-D-4-2-5-4-7.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Yo, Rome, I went to work in Vegas. Went for
- 52:54Speaker 1: one drink. We ended up partying with a random little
- 52:57Speaker 1: person in Vegas.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Okay. Okay.
- 53:00Speaker 1: I remember a woman telling me one time she stabbed
- 53:02Speaker 1: her husband twice, and they were still together. Come on,
- 53:09Speaker 1: you guys all got a great story. R-8-4-2-5-4, 7-7, what
- 53:13Speaker 1: is yours? What story you got? Everybody's got a story.
- 53:15Speaker 1: At least I hope all of you have at least
- 53:17Speaker 1: one story that is a good story, something you always tell.
- 53:24Speaker 1: I remember I was walking into a club one night,
- 53:27Speaker 1: and I look over, and kid... Kid and player standing
- 53:30Speaker 1: next to me. And I look up because we're going
- 53:32Speaker 1: in the same VIP area.
- 53:34Speaker 2: And I look up.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Hey, what up, kid?
- 53:37Speaker 2: He just looked at me.
- 53:38Speaker 8: What up, man?
- 53:40Speaker 1: Same thing happened with Ronnie Lott. I was on the sideline.
- 53:42Speaker 1: I was on the field one time and watching them
- 53:46Speaker 1: warm up. And I look over. Ronnie Lott's standing next
- 53:49Speaker 1: to me. And I said, hey, what up, Ronnie? You're
- 53:52Speaker 1: Ronnie Lott.
- 53:53Speaker 2: He goes, I know I am. I said, man, can
- 53:55Speaker 2: I see the pinky?
- 53:56Speaker 1: Can I see the finger?
- 53:57Speaker 2: He's like, yes, you can.
- 54:01Speaker 1: The people I work with are like, did you really
- 54:02Speaker 1: just ask him that? I said, yeah, that's one of
- 54:05Speaker 1: the most famous stories.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Of course I'm going to ask him.
- 54:09Speaker 7: Good morning, Don.
- 54:09Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 54:10Speaker 8: Yo, yo, what's going on, bro?
- 54:12Speaker 11: Good morning.
- 54:13Speaker 6: What up, bro?
- 54:14Speaker 8: I think I got a pretty chill story.
- 54:16Speaker 1: What do you got?
- 54:17Speaker 5: So, you know the movie Friday, right? I'm sure everybody does.
- 54:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:21Speaker 5: Always, always quoting the lines from Friday. Anything I want,
- 54:24Speaker 5: give me my money. And, you know, what you got
- 54:27Speaker 5: on my 40s kind of things, you know. And one
- 54:30Speaker 5: day we're.
- 54:31Speaker 9: At the mall.
- 54:32Speaker 5: Back when, you know, people hung out at the mall.
- 54:34Speaker 5: And I said a quote from the movie Pride, and
- 54:37Speaker 5: my friend's like, yo, man, shut up about that movie already, bro. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 54:42Speaker 5: you have to stop this, you know?
- 54:43Speaker 8: And then all of a sudden I go, oh, here
- 54:46Speaker 8: comes Debo. And he's like, dude, what did I say?
- 54:48Speaker 8: Shut up about that movie. I'm like, bro, no, look,
- 54:51Speaker 8: here comes Debo for real.
- 54:53Speaker 5: Here comes Zeus Lester walking down the mall with his
- 54:56Speaker 5: tiny little wife.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:58Speaker 5: And then all of a sudden, we just looked at
- 54:59Speaker 5: each other, and he's like, yo, man, I'm sorry. I'm
- 55:02Speaker 5: never going to tell you to shut up about that
- 55:03Speaker 5: movie ever again.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he used to come do events at the shoe stores.
- 55:10Speaker 1: I don't know if he owned it or not, but yeah,
- 55:12Speaker 1: back in the day, he'd come to Bakersfield a lot, actually.
- 55:15Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
- 55:17Speaker 8: Yeah, man.
- 55:18Speaker 5: And I always, I always have to bring up that story, man.
- 55:21Speaker 1: That's a great story, man. Absolutely. That's a great story.
- 55:25Speaker 1: All right, brother. Thanks for calling.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Everybody's got, you gotta have at least one, right?
- 55:31Speaker 1: You gotta have at least one really good story. All right. Eight, four, two, five, four, seven, seven.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Like I remember one time, uh, we were in Mexico and,
- 55:44Speaker 1: We were at Papa's and Beers, and I took one
- 55:46Speaker 1: of my buddies with us, and he was scared of
- 55:49Speaker 1: Mexico because we were sitting there. And you know how
- 55:52Speaker 1: you and Papa's and Beers, you got the guys with
- 55:54Speaker 1: guns and the military or the police there, but they're
- 55:57Speaker 1: not really there to mess with you, man. They're just
- 55:59Speaker 1: there to make sure nothing happens to you. So I
- 56:01Speaker 1: went into the bathroom, and the guy had done a
- 56:04Speaker 1: sweep in the bathroom. I said, hey, man, can you
- 56:07Speaker 1: cuff me up and walk me out in front of
- 56:09Speaker 1: my friend because he's so nervous that you guys are here.
- 56:12Speaker 2: And he was like, yeah, I can do that.
- 56:15Speaker 1: So they cuffed me up and walked me out. And oh,
- 56:19Speaker 1: my God, my boy just freaked out.
- 56:22Speaker 2: But it was so funny.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Like I said, man.
- 56:26Speaker 2: I got a ton of stories to tell you. I
- 56:28Speaker 2: got a lot.
- 56:29Speaker 7: Okay, so this one right here, I don't tell, but
- 56:32Speaker 7: everybody else tells it. Okay, so I was.
- 56:37Speaker 4: Drunk one night, and I smoked a little, and I
- 56:41Speaker 4: went to my son's friend's house and asked him if
- 56:42Speaker 4: I could crash out there, and he said, yeah, my
- 56:44Speaker 4: brother's coming.
- 56:46Speaker 7: I'm going to crash on the couch. Go ahead and
- 56:47Speaker 7: take my bed.
- 56:48Speaker 6: I said, okay.
- 56:48Speaker 7: Well, in the morning, he calls my son. He's like, hey,
- 56:51Speaker 7: can you come get your mom? I think I need
- 56:52Speaker 7: to tell you this before anybody else finds out. He's like, what?
- 56:55Speaker 7: So he comes over and he goes, last night I
- 56:57Speaker 7: was asleep. I don't know what woke me up, but
- 56:59Speaker 7: I woke up and looked across the room.
- 57:01Speaker 4: There was your mom, butt naked with a cowboy heater
- 57:04Speaker 4: between her legs.
- 57:05Speaker 9: I said, homegirl, what are you doing?
- 57:07Speaker 4: She goes, I'm cooking your dinner, homeboy.
- 57:09Speaker 9: What is wrong?
- 57:12Speaker 4: And that circulated all over town.
- 57:14Speaker 7: I was so embarrassed.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Wait.
- 57:17Speaker 8: Wow.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Well, that's a great story.
- 57:20Speaker 4: That was off the hook. I still hear it to
- 57:22Speaker 4: this day.
- 57:23Speaker 7: I just heard it last night. How embarrassing is that?
- 57:29Speaker 1: I mean, we do embarrassing stuff, man. We just do
- 57:32Speaker 1: stupid things.
- 57:33Speaker 9: I know.
- 57:34Speaker 7: It was stupid.
- 57:36Speaker 4: I'd never been with this guy or anything, and he
- 57:37Speaker 4: was real good looking. I was so embarrassed that I
- 57:40Speaker 4: was naked in front of him.
- 57:42Speaker 6: That's great.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. That's awesome.
- 57:45Speaker 4: Okay, I'll talk to you later.
- 57:46Speaker 11: Bye.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I mean, look, man, if you can't have fun with
- 57:50Speaker 1: your life, sometimes we do stupid things, sometimes, and we
- 57:53Speaker 1: live to tell about it, and we just tell the story, man,
- 57:55Speaker 1: because it is what it is, right? I'm glad that
- 57:59Speaker 1: she was okay with telling her story. R-8-4-2-5-4-7-0-7. Everybody's got
- 58:04Speaker 1: at least one great story, right? Some of your stories
- 58:07Speaker 1: turn into legends. Some of your stories get distorted and
- 58:10Speaker 1: turn into something else.
- 58:11Speaker 2: But everybody's got a great story. At least I hope
- 58:14Speaker 2: you do. I got so many stories, man. I've been
- 58:16Speaker 2: through so much, so much fun stuff in my life.
- 58:19Speaker 1: It's unbelievable.
- 58:20Speaker 4: Hey, Nathan, I know I called you and gave you
- 58:22Speaker 4: a story, but I got a pretty good one, another one.
- 58:25Speaker 1: What happened?
- 58:27Speaker 4: Okay, so I was starting a stripping company, so I
- 58:31Speaker 4: had a lot of girls. And one of my friends
- 58:32Speaker 4: called me, and she told me, Julie, come downtown and
- 58:36Speaker 4: bring your girls because we're having a mud wrestling contest.
- 58:40Speaker 9: And I said, all right.
- 58:41Speaker 7: So I gathered some girls up, and we went down there. Well,
- 58:43Speaker 7: I looked around. I didn't see– there was a lot
- 58:45Speaker 7: of people. And I looked around. I didn't see anybody
- 58:47Speaker 7: I knew. And so I said, well, I'll do it.
- 58:50Speaker 7: So I go up there, and I'd never mud.
- 58:52Speaker 4: Wrestled before, you know. So I go up there, and
- 58:54Speaker 4: I'm thinking, for reals, I need to slam this chick,
- 58:56Speaker 4: you know.
- 58:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 58:57Speaker 4: So we get up there and we're wearing these little
- 58:59Speaker 4: tassels and G-strings. And then when they ring that bell,
- 59:02Speaker 4: I slam her into the mud. You know, I'm not
- 59:04Speaker 4: knowing that it's supposed to be like for fun, you know,
- 59:07Speaker 4: to look good.
- 59:08Speaker 7: I just slammed her.
- 59:09Speaker 4: And she gets up, and she's bawling her eyes out,
- 59:11Speaker 4: and her boyfriend comes up on the stage, and he
- 59:13Speaker 4: comes running up there to me, and so I slammed him, too.
- 59:16Speaker 7: Oh, my God!
- 59:17Speaker 3: And, yeah, they got pictures.
- 59:18Speaker 7: Of all of it and everything, you know? It was
- 59:20Speaker 7: pretty funny. But this is the worst of it.
- 59:23Speaker 6: My son calls me.
- 59:24Speaker 4: My son and my husband both went to jail the
- 59:26Speaker 4: night before. And they're both calling me saying, what are
- 59:28Speaker 4: you doing? My son's like, mom, my friends were out there.
- 59:31Speaker 4: They're the ones who let me know.
- 59:32Speaker 7: And I'm like, oh, my God. I didn't even think
- 59:34Speaker 7: of his friends. You know what I mean? I just
- 59:37Speaker 7: look around, didn't see anybody I knew.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 59:40Speaker 1: That is so great. That is so great.
- 59:43Speaker 10: Thanks for calling.
- 59:44Speaker 1: I appreciate this call back. I got a funny story
- 59:46Speaker 1: about a stripper I'll tell you in a minute.
- 59:48Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 59:49Speaker 1: How's it going on?
- 59:50Speaker 6: Oh, that was a great story. But he should have
- 59:53Speaker 6: started it off with, hey, I know I didn't call
- 59:55Speaker 6: last week when my Rams lost.
- 59:57Speaker 8: Oh, I know.
- 59:58Speaker 6: Hey, you know what, man? I've got more stories than
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: Stephen King, man. I sent you one last week. You
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: didn't even respond.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I don't remember. I got so many stuff.
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: Well, look on your phone, man.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I'll check it out.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: Because that's a great one because of the fact that,
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: you know.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: Aaron judge doesn't, he doesn't sign everybody's stuff. So I'll look.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I'll look, I'll go back right now. All right. I
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: do got a funny story about a stripper now, by
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: the way. Um, I was at, uh, when I, uh,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: this was probably what, 20 years ago I was in Bakersfield. Oh,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: I was living here and a buddy of mine is, uh,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: getting married. And so he's having a bachelor party. And so,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I don't normally go to those things. Even my friends,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: I don't normally go to bachelor parties. I don't normally go,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: I don't, I've never gone to a strip club or
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: anything like that. Um, and I'm sitting there, but he
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: convinces me to go. And I, uh, so I go
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: and we're sitting there and the strippers show up. There's
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: two strippers, right? And they show up and, uh, the, uh,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Everybody's kind of waiting, waiting, waiting.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: What's going on? What's going on? Finally, my buddy comes
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: up to me.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: He goes, hey, man.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: He goes, I don't want to be rude to you,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: but the strippers, they're not going to come on.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: If you're here because I'm on the radio. It cracked
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: me up. It was funny because I didn't even want
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: to go to the first place. So I only went
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: because he asked me to. Yeah, so I ended up
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: leaving so the strippers could perform. I thought that was
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: pretty funny. Hey, Romeo, I know you lying. You ain't
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: never been to a strip club. Every guy's gone to
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: a strip club. No, I'm not lying. I never been
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: to a strip club before. I mean, yeah, no reason
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: to go. In fact, when I was my very first
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: radio show, I worked from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m. No,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I'm sorry, 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Yeah, was that right?
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Yeah, because 10 to 2. was the overnight show, the
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: slow jam show. It wasn't here in Bakersfield, but my
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: first radio show was, uh, 2 AM to 6 AM.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: So the radio station I worked for, like I said,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: it wasn't here in Bakersfield. Um, the strip club actually
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: advertised with the radio station. Um, some big, it was
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: a big strip club and the strippers, some of the
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: strippers would actually, after they got up, they knew I
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: was at work. Um, I mean, I got to know
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: them because I, you know, you'd have to do remote
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: sometimes with them or whatever. But they would show up
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: at the radio station after they got off with their
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: dinner or, you know, to unwind. They would just hang
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: out like regular people. No hanky-panky, no nothing. So I
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: knew a bunch of strippers.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: You know, they were cool. They were just girls going
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: to work.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: No craziness, no nothing.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: But, yeah, so I.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Maybe that's why I've never been to a strip club,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: because I would hang out with them at this radio
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: station when I was working. They'd stop by. They'd have dinner,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: talk for a little bit.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Then they'd all go home.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: But yeah, maybe that's why.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Because it just, I don't know.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: But it was nothing crazy going on. They're just, you know,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: getting off work, stopping by to say hi. But yeah,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: I've never, no, I wouldn't lie to you. I've never
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: been to a strip club. In fact, not only have
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I never been to a strip club, I've never seen
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: a woman strip. I have never seen a woman strip.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I've seen a morning show strip. The first station I
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: worked for was the morning show was a guy and
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: a girl, and she was getting married, so her partner,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: he and the other guy on the show, they did
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: a striptease act. They had a promotion kind of thing
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: with her at the strip club, and the guy, her
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: partner on the morning show, they did a striptease act
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: on stage, but I've never seen a girl strip, ever.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: But it was a joke, you know, because she was
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: getting married.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: All right. Hey, Rome.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: At one time, me and my boys got strippers at
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: the pad. They rolled up with a security guard. It
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: was about 10. There was about 10 or 15 in.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: A circle while the girls were stripping.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: I sat next to the security guard who was also
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: watching the girls who were putting all their money into
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: a duffel bag next to him. He wasn't paying attention.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: I reached in, grabbed a handful of money and started
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: making it rain. The girls went crazy. Started shaking booty
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: like crazy with recycled ones.
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: God.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Man, that's cold.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: That's cold. That's a cold story right there, boy.
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: Romeo in the morning.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Every morning.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: 94.1.
