- 1 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:02,720 It's still really a big damage to me! 2 00:00:02,720 --> 00:00:12,720 What now? 3 00:00:12,720 --> 00:00:12,960 Oh! 4 00:00:12,960 --> 00:00:13,960 Oh! 5 00:00:13,960 --> 00:00:16,760 Welcome everybody! 6 00:00:16,760 --> 00:00:20,320 Welcome to this week's edition of the Sto Realta Show. 7 00:00:20,320 --> 00:00:24,600 Eps number 8503 for June 18th, 2026. 8 00:00:24,600 --> 00:00:29,440 Welcome to this week's edition of S.R.T.U. 9 00:00:29,440 --> 00:00:32,360 I am one after the show, I am Jeff Peck. 10 00:00:32,360 --> 00:00:35,280 I joined every single week for my host, the one who had done straight. 11 00:00:35,280 --> 00:00:39,840 Franklin, Dr. Trey, is there anything in the world of professional wrestling that could 12 00:00:39,840 --> 00:00:44,680 have been a little bit to what just happened in the NBA with my New York Knicks becoming 13 00:00:44,680 --> 00:00:47,560 NBA champions, my friend? 14 00:00:47,560 --> 00:00:49,720 Oh, bestie. 15 00:00:49,720 --> 00:00:54,880 We were talking about Mexican food and traveling and then you hit me with an NBA question to jump 16 00:00:54,880 --> 00:00:55,880 it off. 17 00:00:55,880 --> 00:01:01,320 Anything in the history of this David Arquette winning the WCW Championship? 18 00:01:01,320 --> 00:01:03,640 What are we longing for that? 19 00:01:03,640 --> 00:01:07,960 Well, you were longing for your Knicks to win a championship. 20 00:01:07,960 --> 00:01:13,680 You know, when it comes to the NBA, I am almost by default a Lakers fan. 21 00:01:13,680 --> 00:01:19,480 So the Knicks are not at the top of my wish list to win an NBA championship. 22 00:01:19,480 --> 00:01:25,480 But I was pulling for them because for some reason I am not a Wemba Yamma. 23 00:01:25,480 --> 00:01:31,840 I'm not a big fan of his yet. 24 00:01:31,840 --> 00:01:36,400 For some reason, when I see the Knicks, I see all those Villanova guys on the Knicks, like 25 00:01:36,400 --> 00:01:40,040 Brunson, Ellis guys, I was pulling for the Knicks. 26 00:01:40,040 --> 00:01:44,680 So maybe it's also because growing up, the Spike Lee, Michael Jordan commercials and Jordan 27 00:01:44,680 --> 00:01:50,000 basically just torching Spike Lee for a decade, maybe a Knicks fan in this series. 28 00:01:50,000 --> 00:01:54,480 So congratulations for your Knicks winning a championship. 29 00:01:54,480 --> 00:01:57,480 Once again, something that maybe we didn't think would happen in our lifetimes. 30 00:01:57,480 --> 00:02:03,600 But I just don't know, is there maybe Daniel Bryan winning the, is that something with the 31 00:02:03,600 --> 00:02:05,360 Miracle on Bourbon Street? 32 00:02:05,360 --> 00:02:09,680 I think the closest is maybe Kofi. 33 00:02:09,680 --> 00:02:11,280 Kofi won the championship 35. 34 00:02:11,280 --> 00:02:16,960 Russell Wayne in 35 because in the WWE for 10 plus years, never thought it would happen. 35 00:02:16,960 --> 00:02:21,160 The Knicks in the NBA for a long time, they did win a championship. 36 00:02:21,160 --> 00:02:26,360 Or like a cornerstone of the NBA for a long time, just because of where they're located. 37 00:02:26,360 --> 00:02:30,200 But like a laughing stock for nearly 15 years, win the championship. 38 00:02:30,200 --> 00:02:31,720 Never thought I'd see the day. 39 00:02:31,720 --> 00:02:35,400 To me, I think the closest thing maybe like Kofi? 40 00:02:35,400 --> 00:02:40,200 I'm just trying to compare in a sense of like, you know, you just said yourself, the Knicks, 41 00:02:40,200 --> 00:02:44,440 James Dolen kind of a laughing stock of the NBA throughout the early 2000s. 42 00:02:44,440 --> 00:02:46,880 For the last at least 20 years. 43 00:02:46,880 --> 00:02:48,200 Fair enough, I say. 44 00:02:48,200 --> 00:02:51,960 I don't know if there's something that we can look and go, he was kind of a laughing stock 45 00:02:51,960 --> 00:02:56,480 and then got on a hosier because Kofi, I don't think we ever considered him a laughing stock 46 00:02:56,480 --> 00:02:58,920 because the new day had such a great run. 47 00:02:58,920 --> 00:03:02,640 I just don't know if there's somebody that you can go look and go, man, I never thought 48 00:03:02,640 --> 00:03:07,640 this guy based on, it's all siglar based on where he started to cashing in at money in 49 00:03:07,640 --> 00:03:08,640 the bank. 50 00:03:08,640 --> 00:03:13,400 Maybe I just don't know if you can go from laughing stock to champion comparison type thing. 51 00:03:13,400 --> 00:03:14,880 Yeah, I shouldn't have said laughing. 52 00:03:14,880 --> 00:03:19,160 I mean, Knicks are laughing stock. 53 00:03:19,160 --> 00:03:20,160 Kofi by far is not. 54 00:03:20,160 --> 00:03:22,720 To me, it's just like something I never thought I'd say is kind of the comparison. 55 00:03:22,720 --> 00:03:26,960 Like I did feel like Daniel Bryan holding a champion chip at some point, a world championship 56 00:03:26,960 --> 00:03:33,160 and WWE seemed inevitable at one point, but even when Kofi was going through Kofi Mania, 57 00:03:33,160 --> 00:03:34,960 it never really felt like it could happen. 58 00:03:34,960 --> 00:03:38,520 And that's how it like, and Kofi was like on the rise. 59 00:03:38,520 --> 00:03:39,520 There was momentum. 60 00:03:39,520 --> 00:03:40,760 He was dominant. 61 00:03:40,760 --> 00:03:41,760 And that's what it's like. 62 00:03:41,760 --> 00:03:45,160 And I could equivalent to the Knicks run there. 63 00:03:45,160 --> 00:03:48,560 The Knicks were dominant in the NBA playoffs. 64 00:03:48,560 --> 00:03:52,960 I never thought I'd see the day that the Knicks would win a championship. 65 00:03:52,960 --> 00:03:57,640 I think Kofi Kingston was one of those guys where it's like you go through the list. 66 00:03:57,640 --> 00:03:59,760 It's like Kofi Kingston, do you think he'll get it? 67 00:03:59,760 --> 00:04:02,800 And well, he's been in the WWE for 10 plus years. 68 00:04:02,800 --> 00:04:05,760 If he had an opportunity, it's probably passed at this point. 69 00:04:05,760 --> 00:04:08,680 So I think that's the closest, but I really had to rack my brain. 70 00:04:08,680 --> 00:04:15,160 I usually really like comparing sports analogies to wrestling to tie it back all in so we don't 71 00:04:15,160 --> 00:04:20,480 bore the wrestling fans that listen to this podcast on art sports fans. 72 00:04:20,480 --> 00:04:25,500 But this one was pretty difficult, Dr. Trey, because it had been 53 years since the 73 00:04:25,500 --> 00:04:27,600 Knicks won an NBA championship. 74 00:04:27,600 --> 00:04:33,000 There's certainly nobody on the WWE AEW, D&A roster that hasn't won a championship in 53 75 00:04:33,000 --> 00:04:34,000 years. 76 00:04:34,000 --> 00:04:35,320 Hell, they'd be wrestling in the middle of the 70s. 77 00:04:35,320 --> 00:04:40,520 So it's like, I guess the closest comparison would be Kofi, I guess. 78 00:04:40,520 --> 00:04:45,680 >> Did you go Diamond Dows pay, starting off as a manager, then running through his iterations 79 00:04:45,680 --> 00:04:53,400 of the Diamond dolls and all that stuff, and then kind of being like a lower mid card guy 80 00:04:53,400 --> 00:04:54,400 for it. 81 00:04:54,400 --> 00:04:55,400 >> Yeah. 82 00:04:55,400 --> 00:04:58,080 >> It wasn't until he came up with a Diamond Cutter that he became a dominant person. 83 00:04:58,080 --> 00:05:01,960 And maybe that's a good comparison where you look at like, yeah, they were kind of laughing 84 00:05:01,960 --> 00:05:02,960 stocks. 85 00:05:02,960 --> 00:05:06,560 They bring in Jalen Bronson, they get on this streak and they dominate. 86 00:05:06,560 --> 00:05:11,280 So maybe Diamond Dows pay, starting to use the Diamond Cutter, elevating his career up 87 00:05:11,280 --> 00:05:14,640 to becoming a main event, level town, and then winning a World title. 88 00:05:14,640 --> 00:05:15,640 Again. 89 00:05:15,640 --> 00:05:16,880 >> But that might be the other option. 90 00:05:16,880 --> 00:05:18,400 >> I like that comparison. 91 00:05:18,400 --> 00:05:24,560 I think another comparison can be literally what will segue into our first topic here for 92 00:05:24,560 --> 00:05:28,720 this week's edition of the podcast is, and this person has not won a World Championship 93 00:05:28,720 --> 00:05:32,160 yet, but that is Sami Zayn. 94 00:05:32,160 --> 00:05:38,160 I think you can say, if the day comes, and I'm like 50/50 on this, I think Sami Zayn should 95 00:05:38,160 --> 00:05:40,560 get a run with a World Championship. 96 00:05:40,560 --> 00:05:42,200 But I don't know if it'll ever happen. 97 00:05:42,200 --> 00:05:50,720 He may be that Karl Malone, that Ken Griffey Jr., those guys that played sports that dominated 98 00:05:50,720 --> 00:05:57,960 the sport, Mike Trout, that never got an opportunity to win the big one, could be like Sami Zayn. 99 00:05:57,960 --> 00:06:03,800 If Sami Zayn is someone that finally wins the big one, wins a WWE Championship, a World 100 00:06:03,800 --> 00:06:09,120 Heavyweight Championship, I think that would be a guy that you and I have resonated with, 101 00:06:09,120 --> 00:06:11,520 that we've watched Russell back. 102 00:06:11,520 --> 00:06:17,600 He resembled this wrestler called El Generico in Ring of Honor and on the independency. 103 00:06:17,600 --> 00:06:21,680 And that could be maybe the closest comparison if Sami ever gets a doctor shirt. 104 00:06:21,680 --> 00:06:27,160 I feel like Sami could be the New York Knicks of wrestling right now. 105 00:06:27,160 --> 00:06:34,480 Yeah, it's curious in a sense of, we talked about the Daniel Bryan run briefly and you 106 00:06:34,480 --> 00:06:38,080 remember Stephanie and Triple H saying he's a B+ guy. 107 00:06:38,080 --> 00:06:46,080 And Sami, for all intents and purposes in a lot of ways, does fall into that B+ guy. 108 00:06:46,080 --> 00:06:50,160 If they do pull the trigger on it, fantastic, we love it because we love Sami Zayn. 109 00:06:50,160 --> 00:06:58,240 But he's that Kurt Henning of this generation that guy that you look at and you go, this guy 110 00:06:58,240 --> 00:07:03,680 should be a world champion at some point and then just never got it. 111 00:07:03,680 --> 00:07:07,360 I always think of like being a football guy, I always think of the Dan Marinos of the world. 112 00:07:07,360 --> 00:07:12,240 The guy's just dominates a sport but never has the whole team around him. 113 00:07:12,240 --> 00:07:18,000 Sami's guy who's like, and a little bit like I heard JBL mention this about Dolph Siggler. 114 00:07:18,000 --> 00:07:21,680 Just those guys that you can put in the ring with anybody to give people over and doesn't 115 00:07:21,680 --> 00:07:27,200 always need the wins and losses because he's just so organically good that you can just 116 00:07:27,200 --> 00:07:30,400 change his role and he'll make it work. 117 00:07:30,400 --> 00:07:32,720 Maybe Sami's in that Roddy Piper category. 118 00:07:32,720 --> 00:07:36,860 I don't, for all intents but I don't really count Roddy Piper winning the WCW championship 119 00:07:36,860 --> 00:07:38,100 in that time. 120 00:07:38,100 --> 00:07:44,260 But like Piper's running WWE, just super like always around the top of the car just never 121 00:07:44,260 --> 00:07:48,380 seems to have that breakthrough moment where he becomes a guy much like Kofi that you just 122 00:07:48,380 --> 00:07:49,380 mentioned. 123 00:07:49,380 --> 00:07:55,500 Like, super talented guy but it's going to take something to kind of catch fire for the 124 00:07:55,500 --> 00:08:00,220 office to kind of go, hey, that's our guy even in the short term. 125 00:08:00,220 --> 00:08:01,620 That's our guy. 126 00:08:01,620 --> 00:08:02,860 I just don't know. 127 00:08:02,860 --> 00:08:07,340 I don't know if this, I like the new gimmick but I don't know if he's, if it's enough to 128 00:08:07,340 --> 00:08:09,700 really catapult him over the top yet. 129 00:08:09,700 --> 00:08:13,900 So let's get into here because there's a lot going on with Sami's in right now. 130 00:08:13,900 --> 00:08:18,660 It's very, it's an intriguing and interesting storyline that's taking place on SmackDown right 131 00:08:18,660 --> 00:08:23,820 now where tomorrow, this Friday, whenever you're listening to this podcast, we will have Cody 132 00:08:23,820 --> 00:08:29,780 Rhodes versus Gunther for the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown commercial free. 133 00:08:29,780 --> 00:08:32,500 And Sami Zayn is going to be the special guest referee. 134 00:08:32,500 --> 00:08:36,180 That was the special stipulation that Gunther selected for his match. 135 00:08:36,180 --> 00:08:40,220 We all know the history and background between Sami Zayn and Gunther. 136 00:08:40,220 --> 00:08:45,740 Zayn was the one that dethroned Gunther at WrestleMania to win the Intercontinental Championship 137 00:08:45,740 --> 00:08:48,180 after ending that historic reign. 138 00:08:48,180 --> 00:08:52,480 Sami has been this tweener character for several months where he's definitely leading 139 00:08:52,480 --> 00:08:55,620 a lot more into the healish persona. 140 00:08:55,620 --> 00:09:00,300 I love this whole like last real good guy thing that he's running right now. 141 00:09:00,300 --> 00:09:05,700 That's like really funny, entertaining, creative, which reminds me a lot of Sami. 142 00:09:05,700 --> 00:09:15,140 And Sami is one of those wrestlers that can be a baby face and be so beloved and enjoyable 143 00:09:15,140 --> 00:09:22,020 and entertaining and he could be a heal and he could be so beloved, enjoyable and entertaining 144 00:09:22,020 --> 00:09:26,700 all for the wrong reasons as he's doing like these healish tactics. 145 00:09:26,700 --> 00:09:33,460 I'm a huge fan of Sami Zayn obviously and I have loved this rise that he's had in WWE 146 00:09:33,460 --> 00:09:40,500 and I'm so happy that he's really been able to be the type of character that he's been 147 00:09:40,500 --> 00:09:42,900 in Roller's Entertainment. 148 00:09:42,900 --> 00:09:45,580 And this is like an old school storyline to me, Dr. Trey. 149 00:09:45,580 --> 00:09:51,260 It could be Bret Hart versus Undertaker at Summerslam 97 with Sean Michaels as a special 150 00:09:51,260 --> 00:09:52,580 guest referee. 151 00:09:52,580 --> 00:10:00,580 It could be similar to a triple threat where you've got Steve Austin, Triple H and Mankind. 152 00:10:00,580 --> 00:10:06,400 I think it's Summerslam 99 with Jesse Ventura as a special guest referee where Mick Foley 153 00:10:06,400 --> 00:10:14,140 walks out of Summerslam with the WWE Championship and Sami has been like that Mick Foley type character. 154 00:10:14,140 --> 00:10:19,900 Him being a special guest referee on Friday night is playing a huge role. 155 00:10:19,900 --> 00:10:22,820 I don't know. 156 00:10:22,820 --> 00:10:27,460 I feel like Cody is going to go to Summerslam as the Undisputed Championship which kind 157 00:10:27,460 --> 00:10:33,540 of blends a little bit into the King of the Ring discussion later on. 158 00:10:33,540 --> 00:10:40,860 I really think that Sami Zayn affects this match and I think we have a title change. 159 00:10:40,860 --> 00:10:45,900 I mean there's no way that Sami's in this match for no major storyline reason. 160 00:10:45,900 --> 00:10:48,100 So I'm really intrigued with this. 161 00:10:48,100 --> 00:10:51,980 What do you think his involvement is in this Undisputed Championship match and how do you 162 00:10:51,980 --> 00:10:53,780 think he impacts the outcome? 163 00:10:53,780 --> 00:10:58,740 By the way, you just remind Mick Foley winning the Championship is comparable to the next winning 164 00:10:58,740 --> 00:10:59,740 the title. 165 00:10:59,740 --> 00:11:00,740 Good one. 166 00:11:00,740 --> 00:11:01,740 Yep. 167 00:11:01,740 --> 00:11:02,740 Yep. 168 00:11:02,740 --> 00:11:11,980 It's a good problem to have right now if your WWE in a sense because you do have this newer 169 00:11:11,980 --> 00:11:15,820 version of Sami which is compelling which is very, in some ways the Summers have drew 170 00:11:15,820 --> 00:11:17,820 McIntyre a couple years ago. 171 00:11:17,820 --> 00:11:24,980 I'm actually the good guy in this situation and you guys just don't see it yet. 172 00:11:24,980 --> 00:11:29,460 It's a similar twist on that kind of character but it's a good problem to have because right 173 00:11:29,460 --> 00:11:34,140 now you and I, a few months ago, were saying where's Cody's Challengers coming from? 174 00:11:34,140 --> 00:11:38,780 All of a sudden now you got a great character in Sami Zayn, you got the Gunther issue, you 175 00:11:38,780 --> 00:11:40,980 have the King of the Ring stuff. 176 00:11:40,980 --> 00:11:42,380 It's a good problem to have. 177 00:11:42,380 --> 00:11:45,380 It is weird to go like I don't see them. 178 00:11:45,380 --> 00:11:50,100 Kind of like you like on one hand I don't see them going to Summerslam with Gunther as the 179 00:11:50,100 --> 00:11:58,180 champion unless somehow we get to Gunther Brock and that's the retirement match but it's 180 00:11:58,180 --> 00:11:59,340 a really good question to have that. 181 00:11:59,340 --> 00:12:02,660 And that's possibly what you do the title change and you Gunther Brock that's you know, 182 00:12:02,660 --> 00:12:07,780 Hamins cashing in the, you know, the favor is between Gunther from, you know, earlier 183 00:12:07,780 --> 00:12:14,020 this year is a match with Brock and then you do Cody and Sami as Summerslam but yeah 184 00:12:14,020 --> 00:12:19,460 it's, it's one of those things where like I try, like I'm almost dumbfounded, trying to figure 185 00:12:19,460 --> 00:12:24,340 out where the story goes with this because obviously you need a good Sami Cody feud out 186 00:12:24,340 --> 00:12:30,100 this because Cody's the reason why all these people have been turning against him. 187 00:12:30,100 --> 00:12:34,020 It's not like, it's one of those things where like if you break up with nine girls in a 188 00:12:34,020 --> 00:12:37,900 row, it's not you found nine crazy girlfriends. 189 00:12:37,900 --> 00:12:43,060 You are actually the problem and it's a good storyline to have where it's like hey, maybe 190 00:12:43,060 --> 00:12:48,100 it's not Cody, maybe or maybe it's not all these guys turning against Cody, it's who Cody 191 00:12:48,100 --> 00:12:53,220 is causing all these people to turn against him and then you can do Gunther with somebody 192 00:12:53,220 --> 00:12:54,220 else. 193 00:12:54,220 --> 00:13:00,060 So I still feel like Cody's going to Summerslam with the title. 194 00:13:00,060 --> 00:13:02,980 I just think that there's going to be something else that happens in this match that kind of 195 00:13:02,980 --> 00:13:07,700 lean into Sami blaming Cody for everything that's going on in his life right now and then 196 00:13:07,700 --> 00:13:13,460 Gunther ends up being kind of the victim by all this other stuff going on. 197 00:13:13,460 --> 00:13:17,580 So a lot of the next couple of topics here kind of intertwined with what's going on with both 198 00:13:17,580 --> 00:13:21,420 the World Avaluate Championship and the Indus BWE Championship, which is a good thing. 199 00:13:21,420 --> 00:13:24,980 Like I really feel like as I've said over the last several weeks that WWE is kind of finding 200 00:13:24,980 --> 00:13:30,140 it really good groove right now creatively that's making it very hard to predict what's 201 00:13:30,140 --> 00:13:33,020 going to happen at Summerslam and that's ultimately what we want as fans. 202 00:13:33,020 --> 00:13:36,940 We don't want to be sitting here on this podcast like laying out the groundwork for what 203 00:13:36,940 --> 00:13:37,940 is going to happen at Summerslam. 204 00:13:37,940 --> 00:13:41,820 We go lay out the groundwork that we think is going to happen with Summerslam and I want 205 00:13:41,820 --> 00:13:48,260 all these different types of roads and storylines, not you know, no pun intended literally here, 206 00:13:48,260 --> 00:13:51,940 to really drive the direction of where we think things are going. 207 00:13:51,940 --> 00:13:57,220 And one of those storylines along with this Sami Zayn, Cody, Gunther stuff right now that 208 00:13:57,220 --> 00:14:01,140 could be intertwined and at some point is the stuff with the bloodline. 209 00:14:01,140 --> 00:14:06,300 So you've got on SmackDown, Jacob Fattu delivers a message from Roman Reigns to Solosiko 210 00:14:06,300 --> 00:14:08,860 and we talked about this Civil War brewing. 211 00:14:08,860 --> 00:14:11,780 We've talked about it here over the last couple of weeks where it just feels like it's starting 212 00:14:11,780 --> 00:14:14,740 to bubble up and it's being executed really well done. 213 00:14:14,740 --> 00:14:22,300 It's not like these long interview or promo segments that are taking place on Raw on SmackDown. 214 00:14:22,300 --> 00:14:26,300 It's these vignettes backstage on SmackDown that are going for like three to five minutes 215 00:14:26,300 --> 00:14:29,340 and it's just like a seed drop here, a seed there. 216 00:14:29,340 --> 00:14:33,700 And then eventually it could expand and grow and it's getting fans like myself to go, 217 00:14:33,700 --> 00:14:35,580 what are the hell are they going with this thing? 218 00:14:35,580 --> 00:14:41,420 So Fattu confronts Solos on SmackDown, telling him that the OTC Roman Reigns wads him back 219 00:14:41,420 --> 00:14:42,420 in the fold. 220 00:14:42,420 --> 00:14:43,420 It's time to come home. 221 00:14:43,420 --> 00:14:47,540 Solos refuses and challenges Roman to come get him. 222 00:14:47,540 --> 00:14:56,020 And then on Raw, Roman Reigns officially anoints a line Jacob Fattu as part of the family 223 00:14:56,020 --> 00:15:01,300 and part of the bloodline on Raw by putting an ulefala on his neck and then Jacob Fattu 224 00:15:01,300 --> 00:15:06,120 beats a shit out of comedian actor Eric Andre in a segment that I guess is doing really 225 00:15:06,120 --> 00:15:07,120 nothing storyline wise. 226 00:15:07,120 --> 00:15:11,100 I guess it was a way to promote his show with Cena, which is odd because Cena is not going 227 00:15:11,100 --> 00:15:12,700 to come out and make the say. 228 00:15:12,700 --> 00:15:16,180 So what does this mean for Solos to go? 229 00:15:16,180 --> 00:15:17,780 What does this mean for the bloodline? 230 00:15:17,780 --> 00:15:20,300 What does this all mean for Fattu? 231 00:15:20,300 --> 00:15:24,180 Because Fattu was like this fan favorite, really felt like it if they wanted to pull the 232 00:15:24,180 --> 00:15:26,900 trigger and put the title on them, they certainly could. 233 00:15:26,900 --> 00:15:33,180 But what they're doing right now is they're basically like shifting his character where he 234 00:15:33,180 --> 00:15:41,500 was this lovable great catchphrase dominant Samoan werewolf into this killer Samoan werewolf. 235 00:15:41,500 --> 00:15:48,100 I thought Roman Reigns coming up to the apron, putting the arm out to say like he's a Kylo 236 00:15:48,100 --> 00:15:54,020 ran or Darth Vader and telling Jacob Fattu don't do this and then pausing a little bit 237 00:15:54,020 --> 00:15:58,620 and then just doing the execution, you know slice of the throat, symbol to him. 238 00:15:58,620 --> 00:16:04,940 I mean I've always compared this storyline to Star Wars Avengers, whatever your fandom 239 00:16:04,940 --> 00:16:05,940 is. 240 00:16:05,940 --> 00:16:13,180 It's like this classic empire type storyline that is very reminiscent of Star Wars ish and 241 00:16:13,180 --> 00:16:15,300 then Fattu lays it down. 242 00:16:15,300 --> 00:16:21,020 I mean it feels like Roman is molding Fattu into the type of person he wants him to be 243 00:16:21,020 --> 00:16:26,300 or finding that killer instinct meanwhile you've got this whole hey solo you need to come 244 00:16:26,300 --> 00:16:31,300 back here, we're thinking maybe potentially bloodline civil war or the eventual expansion 245 00:16:31,300 --> 00:16:33,180 of the bloodline even more. 246 00:16:33,180 --> 00:16:38,140 What is this what do you think of this message here of from Reigns to solo dr. Tre because 247 00:16:38,140 --> 00:16:43,580 they put it in forward with another gear and then the other part of this as Fattu offence 248 00:16:43,580 --> 00:16:48,340 officially aligning himself with the bloodline and being part of the family on raw. 249 00:16:48,340 --> 00:16:52,660 So you know we always talk about like there's nothing original and wrestling it's all kind 250 00:16:52,660 --> 00:16:57,580 of spins off of other things like it's once again as a kid growing up watching NWA watching 251 00:16:57,580 --> 00:17:02,220 the four horsemen it's reminiscent of when Lex Luger burst on the scene in the NWA and 252 00:17:02,220 --> 00:17:06,620 he was catching fire and then all of a sudden he turns and joins the horsemen. 253 00:17:06,620 --> 00:17:11,620 You know it's kind of like taking your biggest threat and pulling him back in the great 254 00:17:11,620 --> 00:17:15,140 thing with the bloodline story is that it is family it is blood and you're taking a guy 255 00:17:15,140 --> 00:17:20,220 like Jacob Fattu who just had two really great matches with Roman Reigns. 256 00:17:20,220 --> 00:17:24,500 Me look like a you know credible threat to the thrown in Roman and then he brings him into 257 00:17:24,500 --> 00:17:31,180 the fold to kind of mold him into you know kind of the soldier that they wanted to be but 258 00:17:31,180 --> 00:17:36,940 it also leads to a future breakout when Jacob breaks away so there's a little bit storyline 259 00:17:36,940 --> 00:17:37,940 in there. 260 00:17:37,940 --> 00:17:43,500 So the solo stuff is interesting because you know we look at this run of Roman Reigns 261 00:17:43,500 --> 00:17:48,660 and he's like okay he's kind of a baby face and then but you know with the beat down 262 00:17:48,660 --> 00:17:54,380 of a comedian like Eric Andre the stuff that they're doing is kind of steel heelish and 263 00:17:54,380 --> 00:17:59,780 then if you're trying to bring a heel faction back into the fold well then that's kind of 264 00:17:59,780 --> 00:18:05,420 a heel thing but then when solos rebelling and he's a heel but by nature rebelling it's 265 00:18:05,420 --> 00:18:09,180 kind of baby face it does make an ishring and you and I sat here. 266 00:18:09,180 --> 00:18:13,940 God it's probably been a year you're in a half ago and solo kind of took on this role in the 267 00:18:13,940 --> 00:18:21,860 NFTs and we're like solo is super entertaining like he's so likable and he's so funny like 268 00:18:21,860 --> 00:18:27,260 maybe this is the way that the solo kind of goes baby face at some point and we kind of 269 00:18:27,260 --> 00:18:32,740 see what a solo seco a baby face run might look like because it's interesting because 270 00:18:32,740 --> 00:18:35,780 you don't only that but you know I'm a tiny little bit of the king of ring stuff in 271 00:18:35,780 --> 00:18:39,260 this well the j auso stuff where j comes out and says he's going to the king of ring and 272 00:18:39,260 --> 00:18:45,700 he's going after Cody well if he goes after Cody that's on Smackdown so it is kind of like 273 00:18:45,700 --> 00:18:50,580 hey are we going to have the super bloodline at some point where they're dominating both 274 00:18:50,580 --> 00:18:55,220 shows much like I said last week like how the NWO did with you know nitro and thunder 275 00:18:55,220 --> 00:18:56,220 back in the day. 276 00:18:56,220 --> 00:19:02,380 Yeah it's it's really cool what's what's being parlayed on television right now with 277 00:19:02,380 --> 00:19:06,220 the bloodline stuff because it's like all these different areas and character developments 278 00:19:06,220 --> 00:19:11,660 that is getting WWE back to that creative fold that made it so interesting in 2022 to 2024 279 00:19:11,660 --> 00:19:18,140 when triple H first got the books was making things very intriguing and interesting it's like 280 00:19:18,140 --> 00:19:24,180 the bloodline was reborn while everybody else was napping and the people that were responsible 281 00:19:24,180 --> 00:19:29,100 for killing it Cody Rhodes Seth wrongs LA night were doing their own thing and it's slowly 282 00:19:29,100 --> 00:19:34,620 getting stronger than it ever was and I think you know if you look back to that original 283 00:19:34,620 --> 00:19:38,580 bloodline you would never think that it could get any stronger but I mean there's a real 284 00:19:38,580 --> 00:19:44,180 possibility here in the next four to eight weeks that this is they're adding solosikoa 285 00:19:44,180 --> 00:19:50,900 tallatanga and tamatanga to to the bloodline to make it this super group and to the point 286 00:19:50,900 --> 00:19:55,420 that you just made there you know in regard to the king of the ring and we'll touch upon 287 00:19:55,420 --> 00:19:59,060 that in a second and again I think this is all very intertwined with what is going 288 00:19:59,060 --> 00:20:06,580 on because the way this storyline is going makes me really think about the execution and pulling 289 00:20:06,580 --> 00:20:12,460 the trigger of oboe femy as well I mean he's on the rise is this and that's always like 290 00:20:12,460 --> 00:20:19,700 the downside to when Romans around a lot that and even Cody I mean obviously Cody's there's 291 00:20:19,700 --> 00:20:25,280 all the time I mean this they're known to suppress stars that are on the rise like LA night 292 00:20:25,280 --> 00:20:30,640 is an example of that Kevin Owens is a clear example of that went during the Roman first 293 00:20:30,640 --> 00:20:35,040 run there at the bloodline when you have a historic world championship run while I love 294 00:20:35,040 --> 00:20:38,360 that historic championship run it was like oh man this did a little bit of a disservice 295 00:20:38,360 --> 00:20:42,280 to some other guys because this was their opportunity to really shine and break through 296 00:20:42,280 --> 00:20:46,960 and now that's like kind of a what if going back to like who are the New York nicks of 297 00:20:46,960 --> 00:20:50,760 professional wrestling maybe make a case that LA night is one of those guys that's like 298 00:20:50,760 --> 00:20:56,240 a New York nick where beloved could be on the rise but may never ever we may never think 299 00:20:56,240 --> 00:21:04,920 that he ever wins the big one the Jacob Fattu character development is really really interesting 300 00:21:04,920 --> 00:21:09,280 because the vibe I get and it's not going to happen immediately is that everything is 301 00:21:09,280 --> 00:21:15,120 being planted for Fattu to overtake Roman at some point as the tribal chief and and being 302 00:21:15,120 --> 00:21:18,520 the one that potentially gets that torch passed and I think at one time we thought that 303 00:21:18,520 --> 00:21:23,920 was so was a coa they didn't executed that because Roman was sell around and solo kind of found 304 00:21:23,920 --> 00:21:30,160 a character that was really entertaining and fun and and him more importantly solo was 305 00:21:30,160 --> 00:21:37,640 playing that like Jacob Fattu type role of this you know quiet badass but now he's extremely 306 00:21:37,640 --> 00:21:46,480 entertaining as like this mob boss for the MFTs shifting to the king of the ring here 307 00:21:46,480 --> 00:21:52,880 doctor try oba femy defeats Dominic mystery on raw and will now face the winner of javon 308 00:21:52,880 --> 00:21:58,520 Evans and j.u. so in the term final at night of champions I love javon Evans I don't think 309 00:21:58,520 --> 00:22:04,920 there's any way right now with everything going on that he defeats j.u. so on smackdown so 310 00:22:04,920 --> 00:22:08,800 I would believe that we see oba femy versus j.u. so at night of champions when we preview 311 00:22:08,800 --> 00:22:14,520 predicted on next week show for the king of the ring finals but maybe you feel differently 312 00:22:14,520 --> 00:22:19,520 how do you see at least heading into the finals on the men's side playing out before we 313 00:22:19,520 --> 00:22:25,940 talk about the men's final itself yeah I agree I think this is kind of like you know when 314 00:22:25,940 --> 00:22:32,200 javon was in the elimination chamber you're you're getting him a taste of the big time 315 00:22:32,200 --> 00:22:39,320 seeing how well he does but this is still you're you're setting up for summer slamming 316 00:22:39,320 --> 00:22:46,080 as much as we like javon Evans he's still not maybe on that level where you know he's 317 00:22:46,080 --> 00:22:50,000 not on the level like j.u. so against I mean see me javon Evans against Roman Ranger 318 00:22:50,000 --> 00:22:56,780 javon Evans against Cody Rhodes on paper does not scream summer slam match yet you can 319 00:22:56,780 --> 00:23:02,680 make the case that j and Cody or even j and Roman or oba and cova Cody and oba and Roman 320 00:23:02,680 --> 00:23:07,960 those both sound like summer slam type made of that matches so I'm with you I think it's 321 00:23:07,960 --> 00:23:12,480 going to set up for j and oba in the finals but I think javon gets a really strong showing 322 00:23:12,480 --> 00:23:17,420 and once again that can lead into some of the other stuff we've seen with you know people 323 00:23:17,420 --> 00:23:22,280 trying to recruit javon to join with their groups you know based on how this all plays 324 00:23:22,280 --> 00:23:28,440 out where it's like hey javon loss because j has family the javon has nobody you can always 325 00:23:28,440 --> 00:23:33,680 tie that into something else down the line as well so I'm fully expecting j and oba in 326 00:23:33,680 --> 00:23:35,760 the finals now the way this has been set up. 327 00:23:35,760 --> 00:23:38,760 It's an interesting layer with the javon stuff because we saw the vision try to recruit 328 00:23:38,760 --> 00:23:44,520 him on on raw this past money and he turned it down so oba family j.u. so we presume is going 329 00:23:44,520 --> 00:23:48,200 to be the night of champions king the ring final. 330 00:23:48,200 --> 00:23:53,200 This may drive fans crazy but I think that there's a 50% chance at oba wins and a 50% chance 331 00:23:53,200 --> 00:23:57,920 that j.u. so wins the j.u. so element I think and and correctly if you think differently 332 00:23:57,920 --> 00:24:03,880 here I think it's a very easy process here bloodline gets involved maybe brackets involved 333 00:24:03,880 --> 00:24:09,200 the night of champions cost oba family the match j.u. so becomes the king of the ring he challenges 334 00:24:09,200 --> 00:24:16,160 Cody Rhodes we presume Cody to have the championship at summer slam is that the clear cut easiest 335 00:24:16,160 --> 00:24:20,760 where do you see something creatively that could be done differently should j.u. so when 336 00:24:20,760 --> 00:24:26,160 no that to me is the easiest route because you can like you said you can get the bloodline 337 00:24:26,160 --> 00:24:32,320 involved and it keeps oba if j.u. so wins because Jimmy or j.u. or somebody gets involved 338 00:24:32,320 --> 00:24:37,680 that keeps it very simple because oba then still looks strong and you know you're still getting 339 00:24:37,680 --> 00:24:42,000 the results you want plus it if you get j.u. evolved it sets up for a j.u. up match which 340 00:24:42,000 --> 00:24:45,880 I think you and I would just gush over if we got an oba j.u. up match down the line as 341 00:24:45,880 --> 00:24:46,880 well. 342 00:24:46,880 --> 00:24:51,880 So then let's look at the oba side of things right so oba winning I've been saying this 343 00:24:51,880 --> 00:24:56,480 I think that this tournament should be used to catapult him but in recent weeks with 344 00:24:56,480 --> 00:25:01,960 this whole bloodline storyline like I think the only way if oba wins it the only way 345 00:25:01,960 --> 00:25:09,000 that is done right I mean oba has to challenge Roman reigns at summer slam and if he's 346 00:25:09,000 --> 00:25:13,160 challenging Roman reigns at summer slam I think the case could be made over the next 347 00:25:13,160 --> 00:25:18,320 five to six weeks is that plays out that this is a potential torch passing where oba becomes 348 00:25:18,320 --> 00:25:22,440 champion and Roman goes away for a little bit we go back to those those comments he made 349 00:25:22,440 --> 00:25:25,600 after rousal made it he was going to be around for the summer well summer slam would be 350 00:25:25,600 --> 00:25:29,280 the end of it and it would be the round for like four straight five straight months basically 351 00:25:29,280 --> 00:25:33,480 on a pretty consistent basis and then goes away for the fall we returns for summer or survivor 352 00:25:33,480 --> 00:25:40,680 series and the bloodline storyline kind of throttles up then but is there a world doctor 353 00:25:40,680 --> 00:25:47,440 tray where let's just say gone through wins on friday and oba wins the tournament and challenges 354 00:25:47,440 --> 00:25:53,000 gone through for the will have a way championship and to me I hope that doesn't happen because 355 00:25:53,000 --> 00:25:58,560 I think that would make oba look extremely weak but I could see wwe doing this going oh 356 00:25:58,560 --> 00:26:03,520 shit this whole bloodline thing is really going extremely well we want to put the title on 357 00:26:03,520 --> 00:26:08,040 oba oba versus gone through would be pretty interesting because I think fans want to see 358 00:26:08,040 --> 00:26:12,360 gone through get his ass kicked and that also gives us time to continue to let this bloodline 359 00:26:12,360 --> 00:26:21,080 storyline breathe where we don't have to do oba versus Roman right now yeah I don't want 360 00:26:21,080 --> 00:26:27,400 to see that by the way no yeah I mean can I see it happening yeah but I do think unless 361 00:26:27,400 --> 00:26:32,200 here's the only issue I have with that is if roman is going away for the summer I mean after 362 00:26:32,200 --> 00:26:40,400 summer for a couple months like how do you stretch this burgeoning bloodline storyline out 363 00:26:40,400 --> 00:26:47,840 to get all the way to survivor series if roman's not at least in some in some ways involved 364 00:26:47,840 --> 00:26:53,520 in the storyline I mean we've seen the past I mean you know roman can be champion and 365 00:26:53,520 --> 00:27:03,400 be off TV for a couple months and it's still decent TV I oba gunther I don't know right now 366 00:27:03,400 --> 00:27:08,880 like on paper like it would also make oba's character look weak in a sense like when you 367 00:27:08,880 --> 00:27:14,400 want to go after the tribal chief like if you're wanting to be that guy and you win king 368 00:27:14,400 --> 00:27:20,600 of the reign don't you want to go after the perceived top guy the like as much as we all 369 00:27:20,600 --> 00:27:25,160 know you know much as Cody's characters been perceived as top guy I think to a lot of fans 370 00:27:25,160 --> 00:27:30,840 he's still a notch Romans legacy is better than Cody's legacy so if I'm up and coming guy 371 00:27:30,840 --> 00:27:37,400 and I win king of the ring and I'm on the same show as roman reigns I want Roman reigns you 372 00:27:37,400 --> 00:27:42,920 know and not jump over to take on a gunther or even to degree even a Cody we've already 373 00:27:42,920 --> 00:27:48,680 seen you know oba and Cody at Saturday's made events so it's an interesting dynamic but 374 00:27:48,680 --> 00:27:54,880 I like once again I go I kind of go back to it's was it a Occam's razor sometimes the easiest 375 00:27:54,880 --> 00:28:00,080 answer is the correct answer where's like all right if the bloodline costs over the match 376 00:28:00,080 --> 00:28:06,040 and you get J and Cody or J even J and Gunther again at summer slam and revisit that story 377 00:28:06,040 --> 00:28:12,080 to kind of help flesh out this bloodline story kind of crossing both brands it does kind 378 00:28:12,080 --> 00:28:16,960 of make the most sense yeah I didn't consider the J Gunther stuff as a possibility as well 379 00:28:16,960 --> 00:28:21,960 so I mean it's it's great I mean there's gonna be a lot that comes out of the fall out from 380 00:28:21,960 --> 00:28:26,280 tomorrow night smack down with counter versus Cody there's a lot that's kind of riding on with 381 00:28:26,280 --> 00:28:31,080 this whole king the ring tournament and where things are going to summer slam what I love about 382 00:28:31,080 --> 00:28:34,200 it is there's a lot of different layers and there's probably things that were not even touching 383 00:28:34,200 --> 00:28:39,240 upon Dr. Terry we could do potentially an entire episode of like so what if this happens that happens 384 00:28:39,240 --> 00:28:44,280 because you know it could be oba versus Cody I mean maybe oba's like I want to revenge that 385 00:28:44,280 --> 00:28:48,440 loss or that match you know we didn't find out who the true winner was at that Saturday night's 386 00:28:48,440 --> 00:28:54,160 main event for John Cena's last match a several months ago like I want to avenge that loss and that's 387 00:28:54,160 --> 00:29:02,280 the way I go you know I think for me I've always felt that oba versus Roman at summer slam is on 388 00:29:02,280 --> 00:29:08,960 the card and I feel like Brock versus Gunther's on the card but I do feel like oba versus Brock is 389 00:29:08,960 --> 00:29:14,080 happening one more time and maybe that happens again the closest thing I could think of it was 390 00:29:14,080 --> 00:29:18,400 it got to be night of champions maybe it happens at Saturday nights main event in Madison Square 391 00:29:18,400 --> 00:29:27,120 Garden where Brock gets one last match in MSG like I think Lesnar's in ring career is coming coming 392 00:29:27,120 --> 00:29:33,600 to an end and a lot of that has been kind of reported on in the last year that and he's kind of alluded 393 00:29:33,600 --> 00:29:38,240 to it in a couple of interviews the rare interviews that he does it like this was this was kind of the 394 00:29:38,240 --> 00:29:42,880 swan song of it all so lots of cool things peeling out there when it comes to the king of the ring 395 00:29:42,880 --> 00:29:48,960 the Sammy Zane involvement with Cody Rhodes and Gunther because I think you could make a case that 396 00:29:48,960 --> 00:29:55,800 Cody versus Gunther versus Sammy would be a great triple threat main event match at an upcoming 397 00:29:55,800 --> 00:30:02,920 Saturday and it's main event or a summer slam as well the bloodline civil war with Fatu telling 398 00:30:02,920 --> 00:30:07,200 solo to come back home like that's only got to pick up some more I would imagine that there's 399 00:30:07,200 --> 00:30:10,960 another segment on Smackdown to keep that boat going then you've got everything with how this 400 00:30:10,960 --> 00:30:16,800 plays out with King the ring and WWE has some really good stuff boiling up right now and it's a lot of 401 00:30:16,800 --> 00:30:22,480 good stuff that's up in the air it's just a matter of execution and WWE delivering on some entertainment 402 00:30:22,480 --> 00:30:27,520 here for the fans watching at home the Queen of the Rings side doctor tree we had Eos guy defeating 403 00:30:27,520 --> 00:30:31,760 Raquel Rodriguez on raw she will face the winner of live Morgan and Charle Flare in the tournament 404 00:30:31,760 --> 00:30:36,320 final at night of champions live in Charlotte battling and out I believe on Smackdown this Friday 405 00:30:37,200 --> 00:30:45,120 I've always felt that this is Eos guys tournament to lose I think that there's a report out there 406 00:30:45,120 --> 00:30:52,320 that Charlotte versus Rhea was not on the card for for summer slam excuse me Rhea Ripley is 407 00:30:52,320 --> 00:30:58,560 dealing with a legitimate knee injury that she suffered either at Clash in Italy or like one of 408 00:30:58,560 --> 00:31:04,160 those shows either Smackdown a Raw around the Italy shows hopefully she is fine and can get back 409 00:31:04,160 --> 00:31:08,960 to wrestling how do you see the Queen of the Ring playing out doctor I I stay true that I think 410 00:31:08,960 --> 00:31:15,280 that this is Eos guys to win this she makes the most sense to me yeah I'm kind of with you like we 411 00:31:15,280 --> 00:31:19,920 talked about coming from like I you brought that up and I was like man it's gonna be interesting to see 412 00:31:19,920 --> 00:31:25,120 how we get to that you know especially if Charlotte has that knee injury I can see Jade actually 413 00:31:25,120 --> 00:31:31,920 costing Charlotte the match with live Morgan to set up Eo and live in the finals to then have Eo 414 00:31:31,920 --> 00:31:36,800 beat live in the finals to then set up you know her challenging live for the championship so 415 00:31:36,800 --> 00:31:42,000 that's kind of like my thousand foot view on it because I was like I was telling some of 416 00:31:42,000 --> 00:31:50,000 their days like I kind of feel like either Roxanne or Raquel is going to cost live a match at some 417 00:31:50,000 --> 00:31:56,800 point to then set up one of the girls leaving the judgment day as well and I just it's weird because 418 00:31:56,800 --> 00:32:03,200 I can see both Roxanne and Raquel being kind of breakout baby faces especially Roxanne with her 419 00:32:03,200 --> 00:32:08,560 just being so undersized and looking like an underdog but it could be very reminiscent of hey Sean 420 00:32:08,560 --> 00:32:15,520 Michaels and diesel breaking up if Raquel becomes the baby face and breaks away from live but I'm 421 00:32:15,520 --> 00:32:20,480 I'm kind of like with you now where I'm like yeah I'm definitely leaning Eo just with somebody 422 00:32:20,480 --> 00:32:25,360 costing Charlotte her match and then setting up Eo and live in the finals let's switch gears 423 00:32:25,360 --> 00:32:29,920 switch promotions here to AW Savegout the Owen Hart Foundation tournament taking place some 424 00:32:29,920 --> 00:32:35,440 updates on the women's side Mercedes-Bone Davided Hazzuki in a great match on Wednesdays dynamite 425 00:32:35,440 --> 00:32:39,040 she will face the winner of Athena and Maya World in the tournament final for Ben and Door 426 00:32:39,040 --> 00:32:44,000 I believe Athena Maya World will be taking taking on one another this Saturday on collision 427 00:32:44,000 --> 00:32:50,320 Mercedes-Bone Athena seems to be the tournament final for me Dr. Trey 428 00:32:51,840 --> 00:32:57,680 again I see this as being like a redemption arc a rebuilding arc from Mercedes-Bone to win it 429 00:32:57,680 --> 00:33:04,400 and I find that result to be a little lame and not something that I want to see but I don't know 430 00:33:04,400 --> 00:33:09,440 with only three women left in the tournament legitimately it really doesn't seem to be unless 431 00:33:09,440 --> 00:33:14,800 they want to go the Athena route somebody that I'm like really dying to see the women's side of 432 00:33:14,800 --> 00:33:23,440 the Owen Hart Foundation tournament yeah I'm kind of with you I it feels like it's in you earlier 433 00:33:23,440 --> 00:33:29,760 you made a comment like J.O. it was like 50/50 it feels like 80/20 for me that like Mercedes is 434 00:33:29,760 --> 00:33:35,680 going to win the tournament like like on this you know back from the abyss or back from her vacation 435 00:33:35,680 --> 00:33:42,160 or have you want to phrase it to win the tournament but I also look at just kind of like not that there's 436 00:33:42,160 --> 00:33:46,880 a lack of talent in the women's division a w but there's been a kind of a lack of 437 00:33:46,880 --> 00:33:56,000 top people with you know Mercedes being off Tony Storm being off you know statlanders kind of on 438 00:33:56,000 --> 00:34:04,000 her thing willows out right now there's no Brit Baker you know it's it's kind of like maybe moving 439 00:34:04,000 --> 00:34:09,840 Athena to in there who we've seen grow so much over the last couple of years in a w with her run 440 00:34:09,840 --> 00:34:14,800 in ring of honor we're like hey she's a great interview she's a great character maybe we should 441 00:34:14,800 --> 00:34:19,760 feature her more in a w and that can kind of even though she's been there for like three or four years 442 00:34:19,760 --> 00:34:26,160 it's like it's kind of a new fresh face face on the horizon if they went that route but like I said 443 00:34:26,160 --> 00:34:31,600 it to me it does feel like 80% that Mercedes Monae is going to win this tournament to set up her 444 00:34:31,600 --> 00:34:38,080 in Thackla at some point but it would be really nice to kind of go hey Athena's been a great soldier 445 00:34:38,560 --> 00:34:44,160 worker employee for us for the last four years maybe we should shine a light on her coming out of this 446 00:34:44,160 --> 00:34:51,040 well I think the thing that kind of pigeonholed a w with the creative booking of the Owen Hart 447 00:34:51,040 --> 00:34:57,440 Foundation tournament is they had a lot of female stars that were from different promotions like 448 00:34:57,440 --> 00:35:04,960 a zuki from stardom uh peress percissopie from cml like you didn't need that many in there 449 00:35:04,960 --> 00:35:10,720 quite honestly like there are plenty of women that are a w stars that could have just been as 450 00:35:10,720 --> 00:35:14,960 equally as important like on the men's side it was all a w guys on the female side you had a couple 451 00:35:14,960 --> 00:35:19,840 of the from the outside companies for forbidden door it sprinkled in there and it's like why would a w 452 00:35:19,840 --> 00:35:25,360 want to promote you know any of those stars they should be using this as a catapult for their company 453 00:35:25,360 --> 00:35:31,680 and yeah I feel like the women's tournament was not booked creatively very well while the men's 454 00:35:31,680 --> 00:35:36,320 tournament has so obviously we know the final we talked about it length on last week show will 455 00:35:36,320 --> 00:35:41,040 us brainstorm stricklin at forbidden door this is a main event level match this is a world championship 456 00:35:41,040 --> 00:35:47,760 title match this is like a match that could headline all in london tomorrow between these two guys 457 00:35:47,760 --> 00:35:53,040 they had their face to face segment on dynamite to hyper forbid indoor match I thought it was a great 458 00:35:53,040 --> 00:35:57,520 segment great back it for a little bit more humanizing for swarves stricklin as they went back and 459 00:35:57,520 --> 00:36:02,400 discussed the storyline from the past year were those two guys were working together to take on the 460 00:36:02,400 --> 00:36:06,720 young bucks and that they both agreed that it was hangman pages time like there was I wish there was 461 00:36:06,720 --> 00:36:11,440 a lot more of that and like vignettes and packages right now to really hyped that up but they did a 462 00:36:11,440 --> 00:36:16,720 good job touching upon that during the face to face however dr. tre I just still feel like it's 463 00:36:16,720 --> 00:36:22,640 inevitable for will osprey to win this tournament it's london his storyline with the the death riders 464 00:36:22,640 --> 00:36:29,360 is really good do you see uh do you see that 50 50 split of an oba feme jayu so that we talked about 465 00:36:29,360 --> 00:36:35,280 not too long ago do you see a closer split here than maybe I see because I just I just see this being 466 00:36:35,280 --> 00:36:41,520 will us for a honestly yeah I'm with you it's me as much more the mercenaries monea fena thing for 467 00:36:41,520 --> 00:36:47,600 me was like 80 20 and in part of it also was the the promo mjf cut where he's with don calis and 468 00:36:47,600 --> 00:36:52,320 get the entire don calis family behind them and he even mentioned will osprey he's like everybody 469 00:36:52,320 --> 00:36:56,560 feels like it's inevitable that it's going to be you and me when we say when you're going to come 470 00:36:56,560 --> 00:37:02,240 out on top and I'm like that it's that that's not so much foreshadowing that's just acknowledging the 471 00:37:02,240 --> 00:37:07,440 elephant in the room that it does we I mean but we've talked about for a couple years then like at 472 00:37:07,440 --> 00:37:13,520 some point osprey has to win the championship in london and for you know in wembley stadium and 473 00:37:13,520 --> 00:37:18,240 last year I don't last year we didn't do we did we did Texas for all in which kind of threw a 474 00:37:18,240 --> 00:37:25,040 monkey wrench into that plan so hey we're back in wembley stadium it does make a ton of sense on pay 475 00:37:25,040 --> 00:37:31,920 able to have at least mjf and osprey be your main event inside wembley stadium so yeah I'm 476 00:37:31,920 --> 00:37:37,680 leaning much more the 80 20 split than I am the 50 50 night of champions forbidden door we will 477 00:37:37,680 --> 00:37:42,400 preview and predict it on next week's edition of srt you will also take a look at great american 478 00:37:42,400 --> 00:37:47,520 bash as next weekend is a fully loaded weekend for professional wrestling with three major soves 479 00:37:47,520 --> 00:37:52,720 two from w_e_1 from a_e_w_o_ so we'll cover that all on next week's edition of the podcast 480 00:37:52,720 --> 00:37:57,200 last thing I want to bring up here on this week's edition of srt you dr. tre is 481 00:37:57,200 --> 00:38:03,600 almost about a year ago around this time you and I were extremely high on total nonstop action 482 00:38:03,600 --> 00:38:08,240 wrestling t_n_a wrestling we felt that there was a resurgence there was like this rebirth 483 00:38:08,240 --> 00:38:14,560 for bound for glory there was this rebirth with our a_m_c_ tv deal and here we are six to nine 484 00:38:14,560 --> 00:38:21,120 months later and it's completely gone 180 and it's going in a really really bad direction that I think 485 00:38:21,120 --> 00:38:28,880 is is concerning so in the last several weeks several things have happened here so yesterday 486 00:38:28,880 --> 00:38:37,120 Tommy dreamer who was a top name in creative announced that he had departed t_n_a wrestling 487 00:38:37,120 --> 00:38:41,120 tessa blanchored steve macklin and my leg race have all departed 488 00:38:41,120 --> 00:38:45,680 sammy cahillahan who was working as a producer was let go he announced that on wednesday 489 00:38:45,680 --> 00:38:50,320 p_w_n_s_ i reported on thursday morning that there were a number of people in the production 490 00:38:50,320 --> 00:38:57,200 circles at t_n_a who were cut attendance for the shows when you look at photos when you look at 491 00:38:57,200 --> 00:39:04,160 the show itself is considerably low if this was a w dr. tre and i would be like bashing them to 492 00:39:04,160 --> 00:39:09,040 no health this was debatably would be bashing them to no hell i mean it is really really considerably 493 00:39:09,040 --> 00:39:14,720 low and bad the amount of tendons that they have for the shows the a_m_c_ tv deal has not really helped 494 00:39:14,720 --> 00:39:20,800 much i watched the very first episode on a_m_c_ tv to kind of give it a new fresh look and and see 495 00:39:20,800 --> 00:39:25,360 i've been very happy with the stuff that they were doing in w_e_ and would like see a lot of the 496 00:39:25,360 --> 00:39:29,920 social media clips i watched that episode thought it was god awful we've talked about it here on the 497 00:39:29,920 --> 00:39:34,800 podcast kind of damaged them from trying to regain some of that viewership and then more importantly 498 00:39:34,800 --> 00:39:38,800 and i was thinking about this this past Tuesday as i was watching n_x_t_ and i had this speed tournament 499 00:39:38,800 --> 00:39:45,200 it was filled with a lot of people from n_x_t and evolve and nobody from t_n_a and it's been a long time 500 00:39:45,200 --> 00:39:51,200 since we've seen somebody from t_n_a i feel like appear on w_e_ television on n_x_t which 501 00:39:51,200 --> 00:39:56,240 makes a question like whatever happened to that w_e_t_n_a partnership because t_n_a could really use 502 00:39:56,240 --> 00:40:02,400 some of that help from debuwe right now dr. tre you have been and and always will be on this podcast the 503 00:40:02,400 --> 00:40:09,040 forever t_n_a guy i feel like from an outsider looking in that that resurgence that hype that momentum 504 00:40:09,040 --> 00:40:15,280 has completely stalled how do you feel as a t_n_a fan do you feel the same way has that resurgence 505 00:40:15,280 --> 00:40:22,320 stalled for t_n_a in the last six and nine months yeah it totally has it and i haven't watched it as 506 00:40:22,320 --> 00:40:28,080 much recently as i did when it first got an amp c_n_ part is also is like it's kind of in the same 507 00:40:28,080 --> 00:40:34,480 thing we said about t_n_a for years like you need that guy to kind of break out and kind of become 508 00:40:34,480 --> 00:40:39,600 musty television and they had it for a while with joe hendry um... you know they had it when the 509 00:40:39,600 --> 00:40:44,000 hardies came back to t_n_a they had it when nick nemith came to t_n_a and you're like okay i 510 00:40:44,000 --> 00:40:49,200 gotta check this out you know the hardies are still there that they're feud with the righteous is 511 00:40:49,200 --> 00:40:55,040 to me the best thing on t_n_a to kind of check out because i'm a huge fan of both the hardies and the 512 00:40:55,040 --> 00:41:00,560 righteous um... but you know right now like you look at the talent level and you're like okay well 513 00:41:00,560 --> 00:41:04,560 they have mike santa and i have that everybody's going yet he's leaving for w_t_a_ at the end of the 514 00:41:04,560 --> 00:41:10,640 summer uh... leon slater hasn't been on tv since he lost the uh... the exhibition title the cedric 515 00:41:10,640 --> 00:41:17,200 Alexander uh... but there's been really nobody to kind of step up and say hey this is my chance to 516 00:41:17,200 --> 00:41:23,280 really stand out and make a name for myself even bde that everybody was hyping up has kind of 517 00:41:23,280 --> 00:41:29,520 been a little flat lately so it just it to me it screams that there's really is no 518 00:41:29,520 --> 00:41:37,360 creative direction for where they want the show to go i mean we're getting uh... nemith and santa 519 00:41:37,360 --> 00:41:43,280 at slam aversary i believe it is wish to me this is kind of what a w used to do with john moxley like 520 00:41:43,280 --> 00:41:48,800 oh crap uh... our champion is injured or champion is leaving will put mox up there to kind of fill in 521 00:41:48,800 --> 00:41:55,440 the gap until we find the next guy i kind of feel like nemith's that guy for t_n_a_ but right now it's 522 00:41:55,440 --> 00:42:01,360 it's just flat across the board you know and then losing you know the people that you mentioned 523 00:42:01,360 --> 00:42:07,360 um... you know plus losing you know if you lose for health or all in terms of purposes we all believe 524 00:42:07,360 --> 00:42:13,200 leon slater is going to w_w_ in his contracts up like the only person from n_x_y that you see on t 525 00:42:13,200 --> 00:42:19,680 n_a_ television regularly is stacks in are on a grace and that's mainly because of the crossover 526 00:42:19,680 --> 00:42:26,880 santae no but outside of that there really hasn't been much excitement on the t_n_a_ brand since really 527 00:42:26,880 --> 00:42:33,280 making them move to a mc so it is kind of just like i like i only hope that with all these guys 528 00:42:33,280 --> 00:42:37,360 and creative leaving that maybe like there's rumors out there that road dog might be one of those 529 00:42:37,360 --> 00:42:42,000 guys they bring in if that's the case hey that might be a win for t_n_a_ but right now 530 00:42:42,720 --> 00:42:47,520 like they're in there in us there in a dance b swanson slumps are cover up for us he's 531 00:42:47,520 --> 00:42:53,280 getting one seventy he's hitting one seventy five on the season for us but like yeah it's just like 532 00:42:53,280 --> 00:42:57,520 they're in a slump and they're just swinging at pitches way outside the zone try to see if they 533 00:42:57,520 --> 00:43:03,680 can make any kind of contact yeah it sucks um rest in fans even though i don't watch t_n_a_ on the 534 00:43:03,680 --> 00:43:08,160 regular um... they should be cheering on for t_n_a right i mean it gives more guys and girls jobs 535 00:43:08,160 --> 00:43:12,400 it gives people the opportunity to really showcase their skills and really climb the charts 536 00:43:13,200 --> 00:43:18,880 in professional wrestling like i would have never known who leon slater was if it wasn't for w_e 537 00:43:18,880 --> 00:43:25,120 you know there's a lot of rumblings right now uh... that leon slater is both on the map that he's 538 00:43:25,120 --> 00:43:29,520 being targeted by w_e which we all felt like i mean he was on that scene a show and then there's 539 00:43:29,520 --> 00:43:34,960 also rumblings that he could be a w bound that's why he's not being featured on t_n_a_ or w_e right now 540 00:43:34,960 --> 00:43:39,200 it feels like mike santa and it's going to w_e at some point when he eventually drops the t_n_a world 541 00:43:39,200 --> 00:43:44,560 championship um... it's just it's a bummer to see this happening because i felt like they were finally 542 00:43:44,560 --> 00:43:50,880 on the upswing and they were in the in the good graces of um... wrestling fans based on the things they 543 00:43:50,880 --> 00:43:55,600 had been doing the last several years so they made a lot of moves that were i don't know if it was 544 00:43:55,600 --> 00:43:59,680 performance i don't know if it was financial i don't know if they just felt like they needed to hear 545 00:43:59,680 --> 00:44:05,280 different voices in there but it's definitely concerning and the resurgence does feel like it's 546 00:44:05,280 --> 00:44:10,080 stalled right now and will see how they steer the ships because um... they're falling behind i mean 547 00:44:10,080 --> 00:44:15,680 you and i were talking about on the show not too long ago like was t_n_a threatening a w is the number 548 00:44:15,680 --> 00:44:21,120 two wrestling promotion united states and we were like yeah i mean they're they're knocking on that 549 00:44:21,120 --> 00:44:27,680 door but there is no chance now at that happening this year because a w has had such a consider 550 00:44:27,680 --> 00:44:34,960 a w was closer to w_e in the gaps than they are with t_n_a right now like a w has been absolutely 551 00:44:34,960 --> 00:44:40,800 phenomenal for i would say the last eight to ten months they've been great um... they've been really 552 00:44:40,800 --> 00:44:45,600 fun to watch they found back their footing they found back what the fans enjoyed and they have been 553 00:44:45,600 --> 00:44:51,360 so much fun like everything they do has meaning both creatively and in ring wise for the most part 554 00:44:51,360 --> 00:44:57,120 and now they've basically i feel like them being so good has forced the w_e to be good again 555 00:44:57,120 --> 00:45:02,560 because when a w was doing so poorly w we took the foot off the gas um... and that's what we don't 556 00:45:02,560 --> 00:45:06,640 want we want all the wrestling promotions to be fantastic because when they're all when they're 557 00:45:06,640 --> 00:45:11,440 fan when once really fantastic they're pushing the others to be better we saw this in the late 90s 558 00:45:11,440 --> 00:45:19,200 we saw it in them in the early mid 2020s and that's what we want to see again so you should be 559 00:45:19,200 --> 00:45:23,600 rooting on t_n_a uh... but it does feel like the research at least for now has stalled and we'll see 560 00:45:23,600 --> 00:45:28,240 with all these moves that they've made so far uh... how they turn it around here for the rest of 561 00:45:28,240 --> 00:45:33,360 twenty-six uh... with that said dr. trai let's get a couple plugs and sponsors are the way
