- 0:08Speaker 1: Well, in this world of multi factor authentication, if you'd
- 0:10Speaker 1: like to listen to the No Dribble Podcast, you just
- 0:12Speaker 1: need to enter the six digit code we sent to
- 0:14Speaker 1: the email address you had four jobs ago, and come
- 0:18Speaker 1: back then and log in and see how we go.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Because that's the world we live in now, where everything
- 0:22Speaker 1: is so much harder than it needs to be. But
- 0:24Speaker 1: you are with No Dribble. Hello, and welcome to No Dribble,
- 0:39Speaker 1: the podcast where we talk about nipple and we talk
- 0:41Speaker 1: about so much more. And it's very exciting because back
- 0:44Speaker 1: next to me where she belongs, is catcos Hi. Everyone
- 0:49Speaker 1: gone missed you too. But we did our best, didn't we?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Last week?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Elizabeth Ellis, Oh we did, Caroline Swindle, love it to
- 0:56Speaker 2: be back with you.
- 0:57Speaker 3: We gibbered, we dribbled.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yep, we were here for a full almost an hour
- 1:02Speaker 2: and lucky you and he Catherine, because you wouldn't have
- 1:04Speaker 2: got a word in.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Do you know what? I listened and I loved it.
- 1:08Speaker 4: I particularly love the things that make you go topic.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, come on, come on.
- 1:16Speaker 4: If you're a yacht and you needed a wing keel
- 1:18Speaker 4: or something, maybe different story, yeah, but maybe you can
- 1:21Speaker 4: get away with it. But I know, I just need
- 1:24Speaker 4: a larger penis. It's for professional reasons.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Oh the amount of times I've heard that.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Okay, speaking of which, Valentine's Day, Oh, happy belated d Valentine.
- 1:38Speaker 4: I did bring a snack, so I had Gallantine's Day.
- 1:41Speaker 4: I love it, which was so good because it was
- 1:43Speaker 4: a couple of other mums. The kids were in the pool.
- 1:46Speaker 4: They disappeared. They were in the pool for like four
- 1:48Speaker 4: hours winning, which is a whole nother story I'll get
- 1:51Speaker 4: to in a minute. But we sat there, we ate cheese,
- 1:54Speaker 4: and we drank bottles of champagne that the girls all
- 1:57Speaker 4: got us little present. So I've got some chocolate color
- 2:00Speaker 4: aubreeze here, thank you. It was going swimmingly until the
- 2:06Speaker 4: kids finally get out of the pool. And they've got
- 2:08Speaker 4: a spa as well, so they were in the spa
- 2:10Speaker 4: for a very long time, and at one point did
- 2:12Speaker 4: complain about it being quite hot. Anyway, next minute, Harpers
- 2:16Speaker 4: standing in the kitchen having a chat with us, and
- 2:18Speaker 4: projectile vomits everywhere, and I was like, oh my god,
- 2:24Speaker 4: you're right. She goes, oh, yeah, that was weird. Oh
- 2:26Speaker 4: I feel better now that wool and then does it again,
- 2:29Speaker 4: all over the kitchen floor of these people's house. I
- 2:32Speaker 4: was like, oh my god, okay, so we're going to go.
- 2:36Speaker 4: I cleaned it up, though I would not let them
- 2:38Speaker 4: touch my child's warment. I cleaned it all up and
- 2:41Speaker 4: got us home. And then we get home, I'm like, Oh,
- 2:43Speaker 4: they're trying to work out what was going on, but
- 2:46Speaker 4: we landed on. She probably had a bit of heat
- 2:48Speaker 4: stroke water all day and then was basically child soup
- 2:56Speaker 4: in this spa four hours. It said, we get home,
- 3:00Speaker 4: I fill a full of gatorades and hydra lights and stuff.
- 3:04Speaker 4: She goes, Oh, I think I'm feeling cool.
- 3:07Speaker 5: All over our kitchen.
- 3:09Speaker 4: So I thought the end of the night. Do you
- 3:12Speaker 4: know what the real trick is when you have a
- 3:14Speaker 4: night out or you go and do anything like that,
- 3:16Speaker 4: is getting home before the shit hits the fan, Because
- 3:19Speaker 4: there's always something that happens and you're like, okay, it's
- 3:21Speaker 4: time to go.
- 3:22Speaker 1: What Harper kicks someone in the face and breaks Yeah?
- 3:25Speaker 4: Yes, where was the ten minute warning before that happens?
- 3:30Speaker 4: Where was the ten minute warning before the kid vomited everywhere?
- 3:33Speaker 3: I loved that you were well hydrated.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I was very well hydrated. Thank you. Very much. Now,
- 3:38Speaker 4: did you to do something for Valentine's standard the Hubbies
- 3:41Speaker 4: get on board.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Well, Pete and I completely forgot about it, and then
- 3:44Speaker 1: Dottie came in in the morning on Saturday morning when
- 3:46Speaker 1: Happy Valentine's says, oh, Happy Valentine's Day. Sorry, because I
- 3:50Speaker 1: was away all last week. I got back on Friday night.
- 3:53Speaker 1: My eldest stepdaughter has returned from the UK, so it
- 3:56Speaker 1: was a very happy family dinner that we haven't had
- 3:59Speaker 1: here at home for two years, and so we just
- 4:03Speaker 1: just kind of forgot about it. But Saturday night was
- 4:05Speaker 1: our gym Christmas party, which we don't do before Christmas
- 4:08Speaker 1: because Christmas is such a nightmare for everyone. So like
- 4:11Speaker 1: two months later, yeah, yeah, I know, I know, but
- 4:13Speaker 1: it's actually quite fun because, like Valentine's Day is so fraught,
- 4:18Speaker 1: I reckon, if your life isn't exactly where you want
- 4:21Speaker 1: it to be, Valentine's Day can be a pretty can
- 4:24Speaker 1: be a pretty u s name. So it was really
- 4:26Speaker 1: fun to go to the gym with a whole not
- 4:28Speaker 1: go to the gym, go to the pub with a
- 4:29Speaker 1: whole bunch of people from the gym and just say
- 4:32Speaker 1: Happy Valentine's Day. To one another, but then just go, well,
- 4:34Speaker 1: we're just here all together having a fun time and
- 4:36Speaker 1: it was a great night.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Do you think you should call it something else than
- 4:40Speaker 4: Christmas party when it's like nearly March.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Okay, well it's not. We're always closer than March now
- 4:46Speaker 1: than it was on Saturday. But yeah, look, you're probably right,
- 4:50Speaker 1: but it's in lieu of a Christmas party, so love
- 4:53Speaker 1: you know you do want to go. You want to
- 4:54Speaker 1: acknowledge that, Well, we could have done this in December,
- 4:57Speaker 1: but everyone is so busy in December.
- 5:00Speaker 3: So clad that's been coming from you, Coxie.
- 5:03Speaker 2: You are the queen of getting to Christmas early, so
- 5:07Speaker 2: don't shoot us if we get to Christmas late.
- 5:09Speaker 1: That tree up in November.
- 5:11Speaker 4: That's true. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, each to their own.
- 5:13Speaker 4: But there's no presence handed out. People aren't wearing like
- 5:16Speaker 4: Christmas staff or anything like that. It's all right, it's
- 5:24Speaker 4: just an excuse to go to the pub.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I wore a nice new red shirt in honor of
- 5:28Speaker 1: Valentine's Day, which I guess is a bit fattive too.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, well that's nice. The meat tray give you
- 5:34Speaker 4: a sausage from meat truck.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Meat track deal with your midnight anxiety.
- 5:41Speaker 2: No, but we did have meatballs on Saturday night, so
- 5:44Speaker 2: make of that what you will. Look No, I mean
- 5:47Speaker 2: we've been married for four hundred and twenty seven years,
- 5:50Speaker 2: so Valentine's Day tends to come and go.
- 5:51Speaker 1: What is the traditional anniversary gift for four hundred and
- 5:54Speaker 1: twenty seven years.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Meatballs, obviously.
- 5:59Speaker 2: But I did wake up on Saturday morning and my
- 6:02Speaker 2: son came running in. He said Happy Valentine's Day, and
- 6:04Speaker 2: I said, oh, thanks, mate, Will you be my Valentine? Thinking, oh,
- 6:07Speaker 2: this is nice, said no, I already asked Merlow, who's
- 6:11Speaker 2: the job? So I got sort of superseded for the
- 6:14Speaker 2: dog for my son's Valentine. So I had to roll
- 6:16Speaker 2: over us the meat tray. I you'd be my Valentine
- 6:18Speaker 2: and he just grunted. So, yeah, that was so romantic.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I mean, you have passed people by for a Merlow
- 6:26Speaker 4: of your own. Different Merlow however.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Yes, this is true.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I would ditch you to a heartbeat for a good Merlow.
- 6:32Speaker 2: So yeah, no, Look, it was not a big deal
- 6:36Speaker 2: at our house. It was just nice to do Valentine's
- 6:39Speaker 2: Day with the kids and just say Happy Valentine's day,
- 6:41Speaker 2: and Evelyn's fourteen. She's the last thing she wants is
- 6:44Speaker 2: to have a Valentine as any connection to this house.
- 6:47Speaker 3: So yeah, not very ropeantic at all.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I did have two exciting things happen on Saturday, though.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I saw my daughter play her first volleyball game, and
- 6:57Speaker 1: for all of them it was their first volleyball game,
- 6:59Speaker 1: so it was it was a circus, but not quite
- 7:02Speaker 1: as much of a circus as I expected it to be,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and they had a great time. And then she played
- 7:06Speaker 1: netball and I just sat there and I had a
- 7:08Speaker 1: coffee and I had a chat and it was great.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I loved I love being a netball spectator.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Mum. Was it hard not to yell stone? Oh you
- 7:17Speaker 4: still do that? You're still yelling stuff? Yeah?
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah yeah, and I did at one start. I
- 7:21Speaker 1: did have to silence myself again because it's like, okay,
- 7:23Speaker 1: I've now stepped over I've stepped over parental cheering into
- 7:28Speaker 1: coaching and that's not my job here. So so that
- 7:31Speaker 1: was great. But you know, we've got this summer comp.
- 7:35Speaker 1: It's actually gone down to just three weeks because everyone
- 7:37Speaker 1: who was doing the summer comp it's all sort of
- 7:39Speaker 1: fallen apart because people are starting high school and whatever.
- 7:41Speaker 1: But they've got enough teams to be able to do
- 7:43Speaker 1: a three week thing. And then there's fourteen girls in
- 7:46Speaker 1: this squad and we ended up with seven, so they
- 7:48Speaker 1: had to play a full game each and they were knackhead.
- 7:50Speaker 3: But yeah, it was good.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Was good.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Are you coaching Winter comp though? No, so you two
- 7:54Speaker 4: aren't coaching this year. I'm so jealous.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I'm going to miss it though I miss my little team. Well,
- 8:02Speaker 3: they're big team now.
- 8:03Speaker 2: So I broke it to them recently in the WhatsApp
- 8:06Speaker 2: group or to the parents, and it was a.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Way to break up with people. Elizabeth. You need to
- 8:12Speaker 1: take them out some public so they don't make a
- 8:15Speaker 1: big scene and tell them that it's not you, it's me.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I did tell them that it's not you, it's me,
- 8:20Speaker 2: and I left the door open for a return next year.
- 8:22Speaker 2: But I think what will happen is a few different
- 8:25Speaker 2: girls go a few different places, so we'll see where
- 8:27Speaker 2: we end up. But yeah, a bit sad, but I
- 8:29Speaker 2: think also I've been there coach for six years.
- 8:32Speaker 3: And it's time they heard another voice.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's certainly my daughter. We're really good for
- 8:38Speaker 1: her to have someone else coach her, and you know,
- 8:42Speaker 1: we've topped out with my expertise. I'm just going to
- 8:45Speaker 1: go and do my intermediate course soon, but I can't
- 8:48Speaker 1: do it on the day that it's happening. And it's
- 8:50Speaker 1: like it's a bit late to that, isn't it. But anyway,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I might go back to coaching next year.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Oh, both of you've got the door a jar.
- 8:57Speaker 3: The lower is a jar.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Well, I knew it was time to stop when my
- 9:00Speaker 2: sister came in and she's a pe teacher, and she
- 9:02Speaker 2: did a session and they all raved about it, and
- 9:04Speaker 2: I was like, oh, nobody raves about my sessions anymore.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Different voice, different activities.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Yeah, all the different things.
- 9:13Speaker 2: And then they were sprouting back all the things that
- 9:15Speaker 2: Cather had told them, and I said to Kathleen, that's enough.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Don't come in my team anymore, and because it'll prove
- 9:21Speaker 2: that you're a much better coach than me. And I
- 9:22Speaker 2: also thought the time is right to finish, and we
- 9:25Speaker 2: won the Grand Final last year, so it was.
- 9:28Speaker 1: That's the way to do it, or a complete low
- 9:31Speaker 1: that's the other way to do it.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Go out.
- 9:33Speaker 4: But it ended with mcflurri's.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Everyone was happy with that, so, yeah, you've.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Got to take it for what it is. Hey, the
- 9:41Speaker 4: end of Valentine's Day, though, tid did also mark a
- 9:44Speaker 4: week until someone's birthday in our house. And I've just
- 9:48Speaker 4: cottoned on to the fact that I think my child's
- 9:52Speaker 4: been playing me this whole time. So I don't know
- 9:55Speaker 4: what you need to shut up. She's like, like, it's hard,
- 10:02Speaker 4: but you guys don't do birthdays every year, do you?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Birthday parties? Like I don't do a big party every
- 10:06Speaker 2: year her birthday every year?
- 10:08Speaker 4: No?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you, although I would like to slow this
- 10:12Speaker 1: process down somewhat, so I might have dropped in every
- 10:15Speaker 1: second year thing.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Oh god, I mean, I do acknowledge a day of birth,
- 10:18Speaker 2: but I also demand that I get acknowledged as a
- 10:20Speaker 2: person who gave birth. Yes, you know, I demand at
- 10:24Speaker 2: least sort of equal billing. But AnyWho, now, we do
- 10:27Speaker 2: acknowledge them, and like some we'll have a dinner, but
- 10:30Speaker 2: we don't have a big party.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Well no, see, because Harp's not into the big party
- 10:35Speaker 4: that she'd rather have two or three friends do something cool.
- 10:39Speaker 4: But then, as I'm planning this two or three friends
- 10:43Speaker 4: situation and what she wants to do, and the cake,
- 10:46Speaker 4: and then the sleepover and the pizza that we're having
- 10:49Speaker 4: for dinner, and then because they're staying over, we've got
- 10:51Speaker 4: to do. This stuff is adding up and I think
- 10:55Speaker 4: she's been playing me this whole time. I'd be better
- 10:57Speaker 4: off to have a big birthday party on the milestone birthdays,
- 11:00Speaker 4: then do what I think is being a small version
- 11:03Speaker 4: of every single year.
- 11:05Speaker 1: See, I think i'm the I'm spending about the same
- 11:08Speaker 1: each year, having a couple of friends over, but the
- 11:13Speaker 1: big party it's so hard. The one thing I do
- 11:16Speaker 1: highly recommend, if you can do it, is get the
- 11:20Speaker 1: children drop to your house for the big party, and
- 11:23Speaker 1: then if you take them somewhere laser tag or whatever,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and then drop the kids home because by the end
- 11:28Speaker 1: of a children's party, I am so exhausted that you know,
- 11:32Speaker 1: parents will come in and they'll have a chat and
- 11:35Speaker 1: it's I just I'm sorry, I'm out of root, I'm
- 11:38Speaker 1: so I'm so full of I'm exhausted. I need you
- 11:43Speaker 1: to go so but so we do a full delivery
- 11:45Speaker 1: service and a lot of things that's nice and generous,
- 11:47Speaker 1: but for me, it's just like this, this CAP's this.
- 11:50Speaker 4: A made of ours actually has a house. It's got
- 11:53Speaker 4: so the main road on one side in a laane
- 11:55Speaker 4: way and they don't allow people to come to the
- 11:58Speaker 4: front door. It's a drive by a lane way garage
- 12:03Speaker 4: door and you just text when you're just up the
- 12:06Speaker 4: road they will come out and bring your child to you.
- 12:08Speaker 4: It's a bit like takeaway, you know, if you're going
- 12:09Speaker 4: to get your drive through coffee or whatever.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Right, that's like a COVID process, isn't it.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Well, this is true when you drop your kids off.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Do you have to slow down completely.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Or stop and practice army roles.
- 12:24Speaker 3: That'll get out?
- 12:26Speaker 2: That is a very good idea, isn't it, Carolyn. I
- 12:28Speaker 2: do like your idea of, or your identification of the
- 12:31Speaker 2: fact that sometimes your social battery just does go flat
- 12:35Speaker 2: and you just you just can't.
- 12:37Speaker 3: It's like, yep, go keep your kidding go.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Because I'm not a perfect mother, but I'm self aware
- 12:41Speaker 1: enough to know that the swearing that my children here,
- 12:45Speaker 1: other children might not hear that in their family. So
- 12:48Speaker 1: when I take responsibility for other children, I try very
- 12:51Speaker 1: hard to be more careful with my language. So that's tiring.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Do you think the kids going home going mum? What
- 12:57Speaker 4: does fuck mean?
- 13:01Speaker 1: It's a few times today just muttering under my breath.
- 13:08Speaker 4: But where she's really got me this year. I was
- 13:11Speaker 4: even laughing, like at myself today when I landed on
- 13:14Speaker 4: the discovery is that she wants a sleepover, but she
- 13:16Speaker 4: wants the kids to wake up on her actual birthday
- 13:20Speaker 4: in the house. And I said, oh, you don't want
- 13:22Speaker 4: to do that, because you know that's a really cool
- 13:24Speaker 4: moment you have to open your presents. Do you really
- 13:26Speaker 4: want to share that with people? She's like, yeah, yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 4: I do. I do. And I'm like, okay, But then
- 13:30Speaker 4: the pressure I'm feeling to now make this the best
- 13:34Speaker 4: birthday morning. She's played me again. So now I'm buying
- 13:37Speaker 4: extra decorations and I better get some more presents because
- 13:41Speaker 4: this won't look so good when they all wake up
- 13:43Speaker 4: walk out in the morning far out.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Have you factored in when she's going to vomit?
- 13:47Speaker 4: No, well, I suggested it'll be at the park in
- 13:49Speaker 4: the afternoon at least it's outside. So is this double digits?
- 13:53Speaker 4: This is double digits exciting? Yeah, but there's forty years
- 13:58Speaker 4: difference between the two of us. Also means that I'm
- 14:00Speaker 4: heading toward Yeah, it's a big scary one.
- 14:03Speaker 1: But that's great. The alternative is significantly worse.
- 14:07Speaker 4: True, but I don't get to it.
- 14:10Speaker 3: So this is next weekend, Catherine. Yes, excellent. You'll be
- 14:14Speaker 3: able to give us an update next week.
- 14:16Speaker 4: That's if my social battery's back. I'll try. Well.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Anyway, We're very glad, but you must have been knackered
- 14:22Speaker 1: last week.
- 14:23Speaker 4: I was doing okay. I was very proud of myself.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I didn't faint at Parliament House because that was in
- 14:28Speaker 4: between test matches, which was brilliant.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I did think about that when I was reading that
- 14:33Speaker 1: the foxtail event was at Parliament House, and I said,
- 14:35Speaker 1: I wonder if Catherine fainted.
- 14:37Speaker 4: I had three ginormous glasses of water and I sat
- 14:40Speaker 4: on it. I found a perch and I sat there
- 14:42Speaker 4: from the get go. So I was good. I was good,
- 14:44Speaker 4: and I was doing okay through all of it until
- 14:46Speaker 4: I got on my final plane to come home on
- 14:48Speaker 4: Thursday and felt like i'd been hit by busy. Yeah,
- 14:52Speaker 4: but good because it's also over.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that was great.
- 14:55Speaker 4: It was so good to be back in the swing
- 14:58Speaker 4: of things and get a little tight before it kicked off, though,
- 15:02Speaker 4: I must say, just because you know, riding a bike sometimes, Yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 4: it's exciting.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I like this sort of before the season. You know,
- 15:09Speaker 1: it's a bummer that we don't have Team Girls Cup,
- 15:11Speaker 1: But actually this is this better, yeat better, And I
- 15:14Speaker 1: mean we will in a moment take a break and
- 15:17Speaker 1: then come back and have the netball segment. But how
- 15:21Speaker 1: great that in this test we had so many really
- 15:24Speaker 1: significant milestones too to celebrate.
- 15:27Speaker 4: The most significant being that Lizella's got back into commentary
- 15:31Speaker 4: for a minute. Oh really she she joined us on
- 15:33Speaker 4: the paneled for the last time.
- 15:35Speaker 3: It was mabulous.
- 15:36Speaker 4: That might have been did you miss the opening quarter?
- 15:39Speaker 4: Did you say you got reminded?
- 15:41Speaker 1: Well, I was in New Zealand, so on Wednesday night
- 15:43Speaker 1: I got this is pretty embarrassing. I had to watch
- 15:47Speaker 1: it all on delay because I got really distracted by
- 15:50Speaker 1: the women's curling Canada Denmark.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Oh my god. I saw a thing the other day
- 15:57Speaker 4: on TikTok or something and it was a woman with
- 15:59Speaker 4: her broom in the kitchen and also her mba, yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 4: vacuum cleaner that was moving and just sleeping in front
- 16:06Speaker 4: of it. It was great.
- 16:08Speaker 1: It's not been. My favorite part of the Winter Olympics
- 16:11Speaker 1: is that guy hitting his nuts on the gate in
- 16:13Speaker 1: the moguls. Oh my god, did you not see that.
- 16:20Speaker 3: That came out of his mouth?
- 16:21Speaker 1: On the commentary, It's like, it's okay, mate, no one
- 16:27Speaker 1: will notice. It's just telecast for the entire world. This
- 16:31Speaker 1: telecast is still a word like is that something like
- 16:33Speaker 1: from telethons in the nineteen eighties? Is that just an
- 16:36Speaker 1: old fashioned word that doesn't exist broadcast?
- 16:39Speaker 3: Now?
- 16:40Speaker 4: I'm fascinated. It was a really low pole. Do you
- 16:44Speaker 4: hit your testing on?
- 16:45Speaker 2: No, it was it was like a big sort of
- 16:48Speaker 2: pole with flags that they had to sort of go around,
- 16:51Speaker 2: and then it was like bendy. But I think when
- 16:54Speaker 2: you're going at speed might not feel so bendy, might
- 16:58Speaker 2: feel like a concrete post.
- 16:59Speaker 1: And who knows, maybe he'd injected the hi alurnic cascid
- 17:02Speaker 1: around his groin area to it was larger. Who knows.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Things may seem larger than the.
- 17:11Speaker 3: But you got it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: You got to watch sport, right because you never know
- 17:14Speaker 1: when something really exciting is going to happen like that,
- 17:17Speaker 1: exactly right. So much excitement last week. There was just
- 17:34Speaker 1: so much going on, so much emotion, so much excitement.
- 17:38Speaker 1: You guys have got a new member of your crew.
- 17:41Speaker 1: There's now six of you, is that right?
- 17:44Speaker 4: There is sick and she's the first mid quarter. Yeah,
- 17:47Speaker 4: and so Liz was making jokes all night about the
- 17:50Speaker 4: fact that we literally walked in there goal shooters. She reckoned,
- 17:54Speaker 4: she sidestepped in there, and Liz Watson had to run,
- 17:58Speaker 4: had to run to get into the club way to
- 18:00Speaker 4: one hundred.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 4: It is a bit embarrassing, though, isn't it when you
- 18:03Speaker 4: think about the six of us and there's four goalshitters.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I will say though that I like, you know, I
- 18:12Speaker 2: don't know that anyone ever described scheral with marn as
- 18:15Speaker 2: just wondering.
- 18:15Speaker 4: No.
- 18:16Speaker 2: True, she was very busy in her prime, but Liz
- 18:20Speaker 2: is busier. So just phenomenal that her longevity to stick
- 18:24Speaker 2: around and to be like and I was watching her
- 18:26Speaker 2: in the game and she is as equally potent now
- 18:31Speaker 2: as she was in her first Test match, probably more so.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Do you know what's funny? We had to award the
- 18:36Speaker 4: player of the match every match obviously, and then there's
- 18:38Speaker 4: a Player of the series. So right throughout the game
- 18:41Speaker 4: we're giving our three to two one and you know,
- 18:44Speaker 4: every quarter whatever else. By the time we get to
- 18:46Speaker 4: the end of the game. In my ear, I hear a, Okay,
- 18:49Speaker 4: So if Liz Watson gets this many points, she's going
- 18:52Speaker 4: to win Player of the Match and she'll also win
- 18:55Speaker 4: the Player of the Series, which then throws all of
- 18:57Speaker 4: our interviews out because we had it structure on how
- 19:01Speaker 4: we were going to do several people to interview. So
- 19:04Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, well, these three of all had an
- 19:07Speaker 4: equally good game, so it could go to any number
- 19:09Speaker 4: of them. Okay, but she's still going to win the series.
- 19:12Speaker 4: What about this person? She's still going to win the series.
- 19:14Speaker 4: I'm like, well, give it. She deserves a Player of
- 19:16Speaker 4: the Match. And then she had this blinding last quarter.
- 19:19Speaker 4: It's Liz Watson. It's Liz Watson all the way. We
- 19:21Speaker 4: just have to stuff all the interviews. Liz Watson wins everything.
- 19:24Speaker 4: And I thought, how fitting though that for a hundredth game.
- 19:28Speaker 4: It just proves that she's not slowing down at all.
- 19:31Speaker 4: She's at the peak. She's going to get better, and
- 19:33Speaker 4: I sadly think she's going to spank Lise's record out
- 19:36Speaker 4: of the water.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Sub margin, I think, and apparently that's okay with Liz.
- 19:42Speaker 1: So this is what I liked in your interview with
- 19:44Speaker 1: Liz Watson. It appears that she might be listening to
- 19:48Speaker 1: the podcast because she had a bit of an aside
- 19:50Speaker 1: to Liz Ellison said, well, you want your record broken,
- 19:52Speaker 1: don't you? And it's like, well, where did we hear that?
- 19:54Speaker 3: No dribble right here first, But if it is going
- 19:58Speaker 3: to be broken, you want it to be broken.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Can buy a gun by someone who you're really massive,
- 20:03Speaker 2: have a huge amount of respect for. And I have
- 20:05Speaker 2: so much respect for Liz Watson, So I mean not
- 20:08Speaker 2: that you don't have respect for other players who have
- 20:10Speaker 2: played one hundred matches, but she is just a phenomenal athlete.
- 20:14Speaker 2: So you know, as long as it's not a goal shooter,
- 20:17Speaker 2: I'm a cad I'm an.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Shooter now question without notice to both of you, So
- 20:22Speaker 1: did Vicky Wilson have as many test opportunities in a
- 20:27Speaker 1: calendar year as Oh?
- 20:28Speaker 4: God no?
- 20:29Speaker 1: So, like that's amazing, isn't it? That you know?
- 20:31Speaker 3: That is right?
- 20:32Speaker 2: So one of the things that's interesting about I guess
- 20:35Speaker 2: about the difference between the eras is that when Vicky
- 20:39Speaker 2: played and she made this point the other night, and
- 20:42Speaker 2: I remember this because it was just after like I
- 20:44Speaker 2: got selected into the Diamonds and we played in the
- 20:47Speaker 2: World Games and against New Zealand, and then there was
- 20:50Speaker 2: an eight month period where there was no test matches,
- 20:53Speaker 2: so there was nothing right so and it might have
- 20:56Speaker 2: been it was sort of in a bit of a lull,
- 21:00Speaker 2: like in sort of nineteen ninety four to ninety ninety
- 21:04Speaker 2: sort of five.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Just before the World Cup. Anyway, it was. It was
- 21:07Speaker 3: a phenomenal thing.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And back then, you know what, I was thinking about
- 21:11Speaker 2: this because back in those days you might have got
- 21:14Speaker 2: selected into the ten. It wasn't a twelve, and it
- 21:17Speaker 2: become a twelve until yeah, until maybe sort of the
- 21:21Speaker 2: mid nineties. So for most of Vicky's career, you first
- 21:25Speaker 2: had to get selected into the ten and then there
- 21:27Speaker 2: was very much a starting seven. And because you played
- 21:30Speaker 2: so few test matches, you spent a lot of time
- 21:33Speaker 2: on the sidelines. Like I think back to when I
- 21:35Speaker 2: made my debut in nineteen ninety three, I sat on
- 21:40Speaker 2: the sideline I reckon in the first ten matches I
- 21:44Speaker 2: was in the in the ten to play I reckon.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I played one or maybe two. Wow, Right, So you
- 21:50Speaker 2: spent a lot of time sitting on the side. I
- 21:52Speaker 2: was waiting for your moment. But then once you got
- 21:54Speaker 2: in you played almost every test. The problem is there
- 21:57Speaker 2: wasn't that many tests whereas so now things are different.
- 22:00Speaker 2: But the flip side is now things are different, there's
- 22:03Speaker 2: a huge load on the plane. Yeah, what didn't happen before? Right,
- 22:06Speaker 2: So that's going to appea in the mid quarter your
- 22:08Speaker 2: longevity at the other end, and particularly a mid quarter.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Right.
- 22:11Speaker 2: So, I think it's really fascinating when you sort of
- 22:14Speaker 2: start to think, well, when was it easier to play
- 22:17Speaker 2: one hundred tests? Well, the fact that only six players
- 22:19Speaker 2: have done it out of up to one hundred and
- 22:22Speaker 2: thirty diamonds. Yeah, yeah, So I think the answer is
- 22:27Speaker 2: it's always been hard, and it always will be hard
- 22:30Speaker 2: because there's always things that make it harder or or
- 22:34Speaker 2: that sort of that might impede your progress towards getting
- 22:36Speaker 2: to one hundred.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Hey, what about the brutality though around Vicky Wilson's last campaign,
- 22:42Speaker 4: because she was point blank told she wasn't going to
- 22:45Speaker 4: get her hundred games, wasn't she?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so she was coming up to one hundred games
- 22:50Speaker 2: in that ninety nine World Cup. And this is where
- 22:53Speaker 2: I have to admit to playing a little part in
- 22:56Speaker 2: this unwittingly. So back in the real early nineties, I
- 23:00Speaker 2: worked as an internet netball Australia.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Is this a Tanya Harding moment? Do you think had
- 23:07Speaker 1: taken someone out?
- 23:08Speaker 4: Well, no, I wasn't referring. I wasn't actually referring.
- 23:12Speaker 3: No, But I'll get to the other part.
- 23:13Speaker 2: So the first things first was that, well, I'll get
- 23:16Speaker 2: to the bit that you I'll start with a bit
- 23:18Speaker 2: that you're referring to Catherine. So, when Vicky was playing
- 23:20Speaker 2: in her last campaign, she announced that she was going
- 23:23Speaker 2: to retire at the end of the ninety nine World Cup,
- 23:26Speaker 2: and she told a story the other night at the
- 23:27Speaker 2: function before the game. She was reflecting on the difference
- 23:30Speaker 2: in approaches.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:32Speaker 2: So on Wednesday night, all of Lizzie's family were there,
- 23:36Speaker 2: her fiance.
- 23:37Speaker 3: People who had supported her.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I think she was given twenty or thirty tickets in
- 23:42Speaker 2: really good seats so that it could be a real celebration.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Every centurion was flown in all there. It was a
- 23:49Speaker 2: magic sort of night to have all six of us
- 23:51Speaker 2: in the room and to be on court together and
- 23:53Speaker 2: welcome Lizzie into the club. Right So, and VICKI was
- 23:56Speaker 2: reflecting in the pre match function on the difference to
- 24:00Speaker 2: when she played her hundredth right, so she was going
- 24:03Speaker 2: to be the first player to do this, and it
- 24:05Speaker 2: was had she played every match of the nineteen ninety
- 24:08Speaker 2: nine World Cup, the final would have been her one
- 24:10Speaker 2: hundredth match. And she recounted Spurrow that she got taken
- 24:14Speaker 2: out to lunch earlier in that year by an administrator
- 24:18Speaker 2: of some sort, I don't know who it was, and
- 24:20Speaker 2: they sat it down and they said, you are getting
- 24:22Speaker 2: too big for the game. Because Netball Australia at the
- 24:25Speaker 2: time hadn't sort of released anything about Vicky coming up
- 24:27Speaker 2: to her one hundredth match, so her management had decided
- 24:31Speaker 2: to do it and they said, you won't play your
- 24:33Speaker 2: hundredth match. You're not going to get there. You sit
- 24:36Speaker 2: on the sideline. Yeah, Like it was really quite.
- 24:39Speaker 1: So they went, young lady, back in your box, like.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Back in your box, right, I'm out, And she was
- 24:45Speaker 2: really upset at the time, and I recall her being
- 24:47Speaker 2: really upset, but because she was the first, she sort
- 24:50Speaker 2: of didn't like.
- 24:51Speaker 3: I was a kid in the team. I didn't know
- 24:52Speaker 3: what to do.
- 24:53Speaker 2: But I recall her being really upset about it, And
- 24:55Speaker 2: now that I look back, I'm like, of course she
- 24:56Speaker 2: should have been upset.
- 24:57Speaker 3: So compare that to now.
- 25:00Speaker 2: But the thing is, so she thought she retired on
- 25:03Speaker 2: ninety nine, right, But a few years later there was
- 25:06Speaker 2: a bit of a recount done because the in turn
- 25:08Speaker 2: who had done the original count, whose name we won't say,
- 25:12Speaker 2: but it started with L and everything is Ellis.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I had made a mistake.
- 25:18Speaker 3: By five test matches.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Now I'm maintained that I wasn't given all that because
- 25:23Speaker 2: back then I had to go through all of these
- 25:25Speaker 2: boxes in at the Ball Australia and find all the
- 25:27Speaker 2: old school sheets from like, my god, the seven is
- 25:30Speaker 2: the eighties and so that's how that left before that project,
- 25:34Speaker 2: and it was Kelly Devri that started the project. No
- 25:36Speaker 2: one knew how many test caps anyone had played, so
- 25:40Speaker 2: we really had to go through and then five extra
- 25:42Speaker 2: score sheets turned up from somewhere and they counted them
- 25:45Speaker 2: and went, oh, there's Vikis. So she's now at one
- 25:47Speaker 2: hundred and four. So she actually, unfortunately for someone who
- 25:50Speaker 2: would have been the first centurion, she never got to
- 25:53Speaker 2: celebrate one hundred matters.
- 25:56Speaker 4: It's so crap when you think about that, that she
- 25:58Speaker 4: didn't have her moment. So when did it become clear
- 26:01Speaker 4: that she had made over one hundred how long.
- 26:04Speaker 2: It was a couple of It was a couple of
- 26:06Speaker 2: years after she retired brutal.
- 26:08Speaker 1: But was it before you had hit so she was
- 26:12Speaker 1: ninety nine. We now know you became a centurion in
- 26:15Speaker 1: two thousand and four, So was it before you reached
- 26:17Speaker 1: the one hundred?
- 26:18Speaker 2: I think it was before I reached the one hundred,
- 26:21Speaker 2: because I remember it being celebrated at it like it
- 26:24Speaker 2: was then celebrated and it ball Australia dinner a little
- 26:27Speaker 2: while later, I think, you know, sanitay provared and they
- 26:29Speaker 2: realized that there was a bit of an injustice that
- 26:31Speaker 2: had been done and it got celebrated, but it was
- 26:34Speaker 2: never properly on court or.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Anything like that.
- 26:36Speaker 2: So I was so rap that Vicky could make it
- 26:37Speaker 2: down Saturday and the crowd loved her when we said
- 26:41Speaker 2: Vicky Wilson's diamond number ninety five the place where ballistics,
- 26:45Speaker 2: So it was great.
- 26:46Speaker 1: So just for this, so with the six people who
- 26:49Speaker 1: have achieved one hundred games, so Vickiy Wilson in nineteen
- 26:53Speaker 1: ninety nine, then we had to wait five years for
- 26:55Speaker 1: you two thousand and four, another five years Sharrell McMahon
- 26:58Speaker 1: two thousand and nine. Then Catherine came in quite quickly
- 27:01Speaker 1: three years only. We had to wait for that one
- 27:03Speaker 1: six years. Then Caitlyn Bassett in twenty nineteen, seven years,
- 27:07Speaker 1: Liz Watson in twenty twenty six. The next one, though,
- 27:11Speaker 1: good happen this year again.
- 27:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah, assuming all goes to plan, Courtney Bruce should become
- 27:17Speaker 1: a centurion in the Constellation Cup.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Yeah, and which is amazing because apparently Courtney is the
- 27:23Speaker 4: person that does all the milestone stuff within the Diamonds.
- 27:25Speaker 4: She's the one that organizes everything for the players and
- 27:29Speaker 4: make sure you know this video is made from past
- 27:31Speaker 4: players or you know whatever. She's that person, so she's
- 27:35Speaker 4: going to have to hand that out.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Of someone else has to be the bridesmaid.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think i've hearge that within the Constellation Cup,
- 27:43Speaker 4: the first two games will be in New zeal And,
- 27:45Speaker 4: the second two games will be in Australia. Don't know
- 27:48Speaker 4: if I'm supposed to share that. I mean, we all
- 27:50Speaker 4: know that we're going to have it later in the year.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Don't tell anyone.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Tripleer's Yeah, it's a big secret, but it means I
- 27:55Speaker 4: think if you do the rough calculation, she will actually
- 27:58Speaker 4: get it in Australia because they'll have at the end
- 28:00Speaker 4: of the of.
- 28:02Speaker 1: The Sydney Please Sydney. Great, that's very exciting.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Look, that's exciting.
- 28:08Speaker 2: But can I make it very clear that if we're
- 28:10Speaker 2: going to with another defend that we can start to
- 28:12Speaker 2: think about what a team might look like of centurions.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I'm going to say it's quite a ship team because
- 28:18Speaker 1: you've got one mid quarter.
- 28:20Speaker 2: This is true a big job for Liz Watson, but
- 28:22Speaker 2: she's defense and win defense.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Have Courtney in there, because then I will be the
- 28:29Speaker 4: only non loser, non captain. Everyone in there is a
- 28:35Speaker 4: was a past Diamonds captain.
- 28:36Speaker 3: So were you?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Weren't you?
- 28:37Speaker 4: But only by default because somebody hurt them sometimes. Yeah,
- 28:41Speaker 4: but it wasn't the.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Stupidest thing I've ever heard. I was only captained by default.
- 28:46Speaker 4: It's no, well, it's it's true though, Like if you
- 28:48Speaker 4: think of everyone else there officially named as the captain
- 28:50Speaker 4: of the team, I was the captain because I was
- 28:52Speaker 4: the vice captain and I had to step up when
- 28:54Speaker 4: someone was out. But I was standing there, you know
- 28:57Speaker 4: how Liz Watson said she had imposter syndrome. I was
- 29:00Speaker 4: standing there the other night looking at everybody going, oh,
- 29:02Speaker 4: she was the captain, she was the ship. They were
- 29:05Speaker 4: all captains.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Were the captain of the Australian Diamonds. Liz, what's your
- 29:11Speaker 1: poster syndrome? Hold my beer? I'm Catherine Cox, Like, come.
- 29:14Speaker 4: On, yes, anyway, it'd be nice to court like we haven't.
- 29:20Speaker 2: We have a thing about, you know, naming the Diamonds captain,
- 29:22Speaker 2: which is great and as it should be. So you
- 29:24Speaker 2: name your captain, but there are times when the captain
- 29:28Speaker 2: is not available and the team still needs a captain.
- 29:30Speaker 2: So once you have captain Australia and you're listed as
- 29:32Speaker 2: captain on the school sheet, you've actually captained Australia.
- 29:35Speaker 3: I'm sorry to blow a hole in your imposter theory.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Okay, thank you, I'll take it that one time.
- 29:40Speaker 1: I hope that's the dumbest thing you say today because.
- 29:43Speaker 4: You wanted to estimate me.
- 29:45Speaker 5: It's going to be hard to.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Dred that because.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Let's see you how you go get underneath that one.
- 29:53Speaker 1: What I would like to do is pivot back to
- 29:55Speaker 1: your expertise though, because car Canan also had an awesome
- 29:58Speaker 1: milestone fifty gay congratulations. Yeah it's tough maybe, but I
- 30:05Speaker 1: want to talk she was called for footwork in the
- 30:07Speaker 1: second game. That's very controversial. So because she didn't she
- 30:13Speaker 1: didn't relift the foot and reground it, but she seemed
- 30:15Speaker 1: to pivot. She pivoted on the toe and then the
- 30:18Speaker 1: heel or vice versa. What do you reckon?
- 30:21Speaker 4: Was it a footwork called Gordy? Gordy asked me, and
- 30:25Speaker 4: I said, no, it's not. I'm purely because I was
- 30:27Speaker 4: thinking of Nat Madhearstnat Medhurst used to do that all
- 30:30Speaker 4: the way down the court and would never get pulled up.
- 30:33Speaker 4: She would get catch the ball outside the circle and
- 30:35Speaker 4: end up under the post and she'd never get called
- 30:37Speaker 4: for footwork.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Do you remember that band Racing and they used to
- 30:40Speaker 1: do that in their film clear Come.
- 30:41Speaker 4: On, Baby, Love On.
- 30:42Speaker 1: It was all the little no okay, or the opening
- 30:46Speaker 1: credits of Footloose.
- 30:50Speaker 4: No, So I think I mean, having looked at it again,
- 30:53Speaker 4: she moves it like four times, so there's there's got
- 30:56Speaker 4: to be technically the foot has not been taken off
- 30:58Speaker 4: the ground.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Though technically she's like technically, if you're a defender and
- 31:03Speaker 2: you set up where she first landed and then she
- 31:05Speaker 2: pivots like that and you end up obstructing. It's like
- 31:09Speaker 2: I was, I was right, and then she made it closer.
- 31:12Speaker 2: So I think technically there was critical.
- 31:16Speaker 4: What's the rules say you can't reground them?
- 31:18Speaker 1: I don't know. I haven't bothered looking at that.
- 31:20Speaker 4: So that's what I'm looking at. This is no Dripple
- 31:23Speaker 4: were technical about it.
- 31:26Speaker 5: She hasn't.
- 31:27Speaker 3: It's not right.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I just thought having one of the greatest shooters to
- 31:30Speaker 1: ever play the game sitting next to me might be
- 31:32Speaker 1: enough and I wouldn't have to do any further homework.
- 31:35Speaker 4: No, I'm not smart enough to have ever got away
- 31:37Speaker 4: with those little tricks that she tried.
- 31:39Speaker 1: But yes, it was very exciting series to see Kate
- 31:42Speaker 1: Maloney Cara Cone and get their fifty and Liz Watson
- 31:45Speaker 1: get her one hundred.
- 31:47Speaker 4: And what about the little combo we saw of Georgie
- 31:50Speaker 4: Horges at goal attack and Kira Austin and wing attack.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Interesting? What's going on?
- 31:55Speaker 3: Oh? Me like it?
- 31:56Speaker 4: Yeah? I like it a lot. The first time we
- 31:58Speaker 4: saw Georgie in the circle. So listening to you two
- 32:00Speaker 4: talking last week, I think Adribbler asked about Alice teg
- 32:03Speaker 4: Neil from what she's got to do, She's not out
- 32:06Speaker 4: of it. She's not out of the race because I think,
- 32:10Speaker 4: if anything, there might be room to move in the
- 32:13Speaker 4: goal circle if they select Georgie as a shooter. There's
- 32:17Speaker 4: a hole in the mid court which could be Alice
- 32:19Speaker 4: teg Neil because don't forget Sunday's gone, which kind of
- 32:22Speaker 4: helps Ellis a little bit as well in that Kate
- 32:24Speaker 4: Maloney can shift back to wing defense, as can Jami
- 32:27Speaker 4: Lee Price, so there could be a mid court hole
- 32:30Speaker 4: available for Alice t Neil.
- 32:33Speaker 1: But isn't this just incredible? You know, talking again about
- 32:35Speaker 1: how hard it is to get the one hundred games,
- 32:37Speaker 1: It's like we have so much talent, so for anyone
- 32:40Speaker 1: to get to fifty games or one hundred games in
- 32:43Speaker 1: this Australian Diamonds team, it's like that's incredible, Like there
- 32:47Speaker 1: are so many people who are worthy of the spot there. Okay, good, well,
- 32:54Speaker 1: thank you. I don't really like I even told you
- 32:57Speaker 1: I was going to ask you about that, and you've
- 33:00Speaker 1: not what you're asking me?
- 33:01Speaker 4: What the rules are? How about the stepping? Yeah? I'm sorry?
- 33:05Speaker 4: Was I supposed to do?
- 33:07Speaker 1: No one does homework here. Just before we finish our
- 33:10Speaker 1: netball segment, an outstanding netball segment. Thank you very much.
- 33:14Speaker 1: I want to say our Dribbler's Tipping Comp again happening
- 33:17Speaker 1: in twenty twenty six, very exciting. Registrations will open on Friday,
- 33:21Speaker 1: the twenty seventh of February. Now, last year, remember we
- 33:25Speaker 1: had a we had a little comp, so the first
- 33:27Speaker 1: one hundred regis went into the draw to win a
- 33:29Speaker 1: signed Thunderbirds dress. This year we have a signed West
- 33:35Speaker 1: Coast Fever dress. There's Janelle Falloni.
- 33:38Speaker 4: This final team.
- 33:40Speaker 1: This is yet that is the grand final of the
- 33:42Speaker 1: ten and this is the first nation's dress. Now we're
- 33:46Speaker 1: not going to do the first one hundred because of
- 33:48Speaker 1: the whole time zone thing, and I'm thinking a lot
- 33:50Speaker 1: of Perth people might be interested in going in the
- 33:53Speaker 1: drawer for this. So if you register to participate in
- 33:56Speaker 1: the Tipping Comp on the day it opens, so anytime
- 34:00Speaker 1: on Friday, the twenty seventh of February, you will go
- 34:03Speaker 1: in the draw to win this signed West Coast fevert dress.
- 34:07Speaker 1: So it's not just the first hundred anymore. Last year
- 34:09Speaker 1: we had this awesome laman start and within seconds we
- 34:13Speaker 1: had to close the comp. But yeah, so if you
- 34:16Speaker 1: register on the first day at the same price, this
- 34:18Speaker 1: year fifteen bucks. Like that's a dollar six a week
- 34:22Speaker 1: or something like that for some awesome fun. So start
- 34:26Speaker 1: thinking about your funny tipping name, because we do like
- 34:28Speaker 1: a funny tipping name.
- 34:30Speaker 4: And let me tell you a little thing about the dress.
- 34:33Speaker 4: So in the back, it's got where they put their
- 34:35Speaker 4: little GPS thing. Okay, but I reckon you could fill
- 34:37Speaker 4: a lip gloss in there, or.
- 34:38Speaker 1: A lighter.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Or a hip flass.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Okay, Well we have a very fun now. You know,
- 35:01Speaker 1: we had to give Liz rest last week because she
- 35:03Speaker 1: was exhausted from all of the questions that came through.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I'm really loving receiving everyone's questions. Thank you for ask
- 35:09Speaker 1: the goat the greatest of all time. Actually, Liz, I
- 35:12Speaker 1: don't know whether you saw about Bianca van Dyke got
- 35:15Speaker 1: on the Facebook group and said that her mother, Irene,
- 35:18Speaker 1: and this absolutely goes to what you have said about her,
- 35:21Speaker 1: is just super nice. Her mother thinks that you're the goat,
- 35:24Speaker 1: and it's I think we all can generally agree that
- 35:27Speaker 1: that's a whole lot of goat love. There isn't it
- 35:30Speaker 1: that that? Yeah, Irene, Irene could.
- 35:32Speaker 4: What what about a goat off?
- 35:34Speaker 1: A goat off?
- 35:37Speaker 4: How do we do a.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Goat, what we too go off?
- 35:41Speaker 2: And I'm here to tell you that I would lose
- 35:43Speaker 2: that because Irene is better than me at everything.
- 35:48Speaker 4: Well, we don't know that, we can we can find
- 35:50Speaker 4: her weakness. She must have a kryptonize.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Some evidence to suggests that you were able to equal
- 35:56Speaker 1: her in a number of things. So, but anyway, I
- 35:58Speaker 1: thought that was very delightful, full and generous.
- 36:01Speaker 3: That is very delightful.
- 36:02Speaker 2: But if you go back and watch those old games,
- 36:04Speaker 2: she kicks my butt for fifty five minutes. My whole
- 36:08Speaker 2: game plan is to annoy her so much that she
- 36:10Speaker 2: drops the ball in the fifty six minutes.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Well you did that well, and we don't have to
- 36:14Speaker 4: have a netball got off. I mean you could drink
- 36:16Speaker 4: her under the table.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I'm sure really yeahah yeah, yeah, okay, right sure that
- 36:24Speaker 2: that level of the playing field a little bit.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Anyway, in this segment, we may call Irene one day
- 36:30Speaker 1: and ask her a question in your stead, So to
- 36:34Speaker 1: ask the goat segment with a question may seem a
- 36:37Speaker 1: little familiar to you. Thank you to Annie Marie. Where
- 36:39Speaker 1: will the sun Corp Super Netball Grand Final be held
- 36:41Speaker 1: in twenty twenty six Liz.
- 36:44Speaker 3: I've given you a couple of answers.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I'm here to reveal today that the Suncorp Super Netball
- 36:48Speaker 2: Grand Final will not be held in Las Vegas. Oh
- 36:52Speaker 2: so yeah, So even though, look, the NRL is heading
- 36:56Speaker 2: over there, and I think Vegas is well placed to
- 36:58Speaker 2: host a heap of NRL fans, I just don't think
- 37:02Speaker 2: it has enough security and other associated infrastructure to deal
- 37:09Speaker 2: with an influx of nutbag netball fans.
- 37:12Speaker 3: So it won't be in Las Vegas.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Won't be in Las Vegas because they can You can't
- 37:18Speaker 1: handle the dribblers.
- 37:19Speaker 4: She just said, I don't think they could. Maybe we
- 37:23Speaker 4: need to do a reconnaissance trip.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Oh okay, that's a good well, if.
- 37:27Speaker 4: We want to rule it out properly, right.
- 37:29Speaker 3: That is true?
- 37:30Speaker 2: It was I will admit it was a desktop audit.
- 37:32Speaker 2: It wasn't It wasn't based on actuality.
- 37:35Speaker 4: Well, we'll see what we can do.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Have you been to Vegas?
- 37:38Speaker 4: Do you know what I'm actually plotting to get back
- 37:41Speaker 4: there in November? What? Well, so Liz is laughing. Netball
- 37:46Speaker 4: USA we have been in Vegas together, Yes, have their
- 37:50Speaker 4: nationals there in November?
- 37:53Speaker 1: Is Julie involved with netball? USA, Julie Fitzgeryl.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Oh. No, she was invited to go to Dubai and
- 37:58Speaker 4: coach their team at the Sevens Buy Sevens last year
- 38:01Speaker 4: and that's when she got sick and go. So yes,
- 38:04Speaker 4: I'm hoping to have a couple of feet on the
- 38:07Speaker 4: ground in November in Vegas. Now, okay, this question, Elizabeth
- 38:12Speaker 4: has come from a dribbler. This is from Jane from
- 38:15Speaker 4: South Australia. But I am very keen on the answer
- 38:18Speaker 4: as well. This is a great this is a very
- 38:20Speaker 4: good question. All right. My question for Liz is when
- 38:23Speaker 4: I go to the pub or a steakhouse and there
- 38:25Speaker 4: are eight different cuts of steak on the menu, which
- 38:29Speaker 4: is the best cut to order? Now I'm extending this
- 38:32Speaker 4: to the isle of woolies as well, because I never
- 38:34Speaker 4: know which one to buy.
- 38:36Speaker 1: You could go to a butcher and support a small business.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Also, absolutely this is true. We sell all our cows
- 38:43Speaker 2: directly to.
- 38:44Speaker 3: A local butcher.
- 38:45Speaker 2: So a couple of things to take into account here
- 38:48Speaker 2: is that the different cuts are obviously from different parts
- 38:51Speaker 2: of the cow, so things like I feel it, for example,
- 38:54Speaker 2: are really tender, and they're more expensive. Fiel it similar tender,
- 39:02Speaker 2: more expensive, but they tend to be a bit bigger,
- 39:05Speaker 2: so I feel that he's really your fanciest part of
- 39:08Speaker 2: the steak.
- 39:11Speaker 4: Fat on it?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Where does that come from?
- 39:12Speaker 3: Catherine's let me finished.
- 39:14Speaker 1: It's not from behind. And she's done it, folks, and
- 39:20Speaker 1: she's done it Sea. I thought I wasn't a proper
- 39:24Speaker 1: Captain of the Australian Diamonds. Was the dumbest thing that
- 39:27Speaker 1: Catherine could say. But I feel it wins the day.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Thank you now, now you just show me the respect
- 39:33Speaker 4: I deserve a right told you will happen.
- 39:35Speaker 2: So how tend it is depends on where it comes
- 39:37Speaker 2: from and how often the muscle gets used.
- 39:40Speaker 3: So then if you get.
- 39:40Speaker 2: To things like round steak, they're much tougher and much cheaper.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Things like a Texas tea bone just I think a
- 39:48Speaker 2: bit gimmicky. And I've tried to cook them before and
- 39:50Speaker 2: I've given up because I just can't do it, and
- 39:52Speaker 2: you eat it and you go there's way too much bone.
- 39:54Speaker 3: So the cup that I routinely go for is a rubb.
- 39:57Speaker 1: I love a good bone because you're like a rum.
- 40:02Speaker 2: I go for a rump because it's not quite as
- 40:05Speaker 2: I'm trying to be serious here we're just making jokes
- 40:07Speaker 2: about boons and meats and eyes, right, So I always
- 40:12Speaker 2: go for a rump because it's mid range in terms
- 40:14Speaker 2: of how expensive it is, and if you go the
- 40:17Speaker 2: butcher to buy your meat.
- 40:18Speaker 3: But I like rump.
- 40:19Speaker 2: It's a tiny bit chewier than I feel it or scotch,
- 40:23Speaker 2: but you get that beautiful meaty taste.
- 40:25Speaker 3: I think the rump has the best taste.
- 40:27Speaker 4: Now, what's a porter house? Where does that sit?
- 40:30Speaker 3: Oh?
- 40:30Speaker 1: That comes from the porter of the cow.
- 40:36Speaker 2: You two are really testing my knowledge, but I think
- 40:40Speaker 2: a porterhouse comes from if you cut off. So if
- 40:42Speaker 2: you take a tea, bone steak and then you cut
- 40:44Speaker 2: out that, it's either the scotch.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Or a porterhouse. Okay, so but you know what I'll do.
- 40:49Speaker 2: There's actually a little there's a little you can google
- 40:53Speaker 2: little diagrams that tell you exactly where things come from
- 40:56Speaker 2: on the cow, which actually doesn't make much difference. But
- 40:59Speaker 2: I mean, Catherine doesn't like to think of her meat
- 41:01Speaker 2: coming from any animal at all, and doesn't like to
- 41:03Speaker 2: think that it was once wandering around a paddock. But
- 41:07Speaker 2: the short answer is I would always go rump because
- 41:09Speaker 2: it's always a little bit cheaper.
- 41:11Speaker 3: But I think it actually is tasty. That's great.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Now, I think it's important to let you know here
- 41:17Speaker 1: that Jane, who sent this question from Canman two in
- 41:20Speaker 1: South Australia, she loves her state rare. Some say still
- 41:24Speaker 1: moving on the plate. There's a little bit of blood.
- 41:25Speaker 1: She's not upset, but she just always feels like she's
- 41:29Speaker 1: sort of lucky dipping the pick. So I think that
- 41:32Speaker 1: she orders the meat to be cooked in the way
- 41:35Speaker 1: that you would approve, Elizabeth, but she gets disappointed when
- 41:39Speaker 1: it's not perfect.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Do you know what?
- 41:41Speaker 2: Tactically, I always order it one less than what I want.
- 41:45Speaker 2: So if I want medium, I would order medium rare.
- 41:48Speaker 2: If I want medium rare, I'd order rare. If I
- 41:51Speaker 2: wanted rare, I order blue. Unless I'm in a really
- 41:54Speaker 2: super fancy restaurant. You saw its assuming the State's going
- 41:56Speaker 2: to be a little bit more cooked.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Than you want.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Well ask the so once again has been an outstanding segment.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Ask the greatest of all time, who knows many things
- 42:05Speaker 1: about many things. One thing that you never were though,
- 42:11Speaker 1: is well, I'm sorry, neither was I or neither was Katherine.
- 42:14Speaker 1: None of us have been Olympians. Yet let's not rule
- 42:17Speaker 1: it out like, if you could in any field, obviously
- 42:22Speaker 1: not actual Olympic sports, what do you think you might
- 42:25Speaker 1: be an Olympians in? So I read something on Instagram
- 42:29Speaker 1: the other day that if you could be a completely
- 42:32Speaker 1: made up Olympic event, what would you excel at? And
- 42:35Speaker 1: for this person, it's spotting a better parking space just
- 42:39Speaker 1: after I parked the car and saying I could have
- 42:41Speaker 1: parked there. So, what would you be the Olympic champion in?
- 42:46Speaker 1: If you could make the most ridiculous event?
- 42:49Speaker 4: Oh, do you know what? I would be very good
- 42:51Speaker 4: at this particular one. But I think Matthew and I
- 42:53Speaker 4: might go to toe to toe in the gold medal match.
- 42:57Speaker 4: It's stacking the dishorsher. Oh interesting, Yeah, how many pieces
- 43:02Speaker 4: of whatever crockery cutlery you can get into a dishwasher?
- 43:07Speaker 1: And the yeah, yes, yes, so I want in on
- 43:11Speaker 1: that camp too. I reckon we should do that sometime,
- 43:15Speaker 1: that we get a dishwasher and a whole bunch of
- 43:17Speaker 1: plates and we see how we do it.
- 43:21Speaker 3: I volunteer to make the mess yep good. What would
- 43:25Speaker 3: I think? Well?
- 43:27Speaker 2: When I was younger, well maybe still now. I think
- 43:30Speaker 2: it will be drinking a bottle of champagne and running
- 43:32Speaker 2: a kilometer in heels.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Good work.
- 43:34Speaker 4: Yep, yeah, I don't think you'd be very good at
- 43:37Speaker 4: that anymore.
- 43:40Speaker 2: I'd pay to see it, though, Whereas now I think
- 43:43Speaker 2: I am absolutely an Olympian in finding the best free camp.
- 43:48Speaker 3: When we're driving along the road. You just know when.
- 43:50Speaker 4: Camping we have to talk about out. Last week, I
- 43:56Speaker 4: was waiting for the boat in camping fish.
- 44:01Speaker 3: It's busy and fun.
- 44:05Speaker 4: No.
- 44:05Speaker 3: I actually, if I extrapolate out a little bit, oh,
- 44:08Speaker 3: I'll raise the altitude a bit.
- 44:09Speaker 2: I think my Olympic event is to be able to
- 44:13Speaker 2: read a series of reviews of a campsite or a
- 44:15Speaker 2: restaurant or a cafe and understand what is being said,
- 44:20Speaker 2: so you pick the right one, okay, because you know
- 44:22Speaker 2: there's a bit of an arts to that, because you
- 44:24Speaker 2: know you read something and you go, oh, that's from
- 44:26Speaker 2: a competitor, Oh, that's from their sister. Yep, you distill
- 44:31Speaker 2: it and then you go, okay, here's the truth. I
- 44:32Speaker 2: think that's my Olympic event.
- 44:34Speaker 4: I'm like that every time I get a text message
- 44:36Speaker 4: from my eighty plus year old mother. It's serious morse code.
- 44:42Speaker 1: My mom's the same, So what the hell is that
- 44:44Speaker 1: mom my mum.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Will send us a text message and then next minute,
- 44:47Speaker 4: within five seconds, as a text message from my sister
- 44:50Speaker 4: going what the hell is she talking about?
- 44:54Speaker 1: On the group chair, So mine, I would absolutely win
- 44:57Speaker 1: the gold medal of losing mil glasses. But the second
- 45:01Speaker 1: I say out loud I can't find my glasses, I
- 45:04Speaker 1: find them. So it's like, it is uncanny how this
- 45:08Speaker 1: can happen. I can get everybody looking for my glasses
- 45:11Speaker 1: and that second I will find it. So it's not
- 45:13Speaker 1: until I make it everyone else's problem. That's suddenly I
- 45:16Speaker 1: can spot my glasses.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Test the theory as soon as you can't find them.
- 45:20Speaker 4: Next time, say it out loud, Yeah, yeah, I see
- 45:22Speaker 4: what happens.
- 45:23Speaker 1: I am missing a pair of God, it's pissing me
- 45:25Speaker 1: off anyway, got to be, so I'll deal with that
- 45:27Speaker 1: in So we're just about time to wrap up. But
- 45:31Speaker 1: Liz no Dribble recommends, Oh.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Yes, so I am going to go a bit back
- 45:36Speaker 2: to the future here with no Dribble recommends.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Wait, hang on, is it camping related?
- 45:41Speaker 2: No, funnily enough, it's something you can do whilst you're camping. Okay,
- 45:44Speaker 2: all right, be camping adjacent it's a.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Book and a movie.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Can we do charades? Let's do it?
- 45:52Speaker 3: Two words?
- 45:52Speaker 4: Go word, go go go two words.
- 45:55Speaker 3: How do you do that?
- 45:57Speaker 4: Okay, so that's something shining.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Just seen hand gestures at us.
- 46:01Speaker 4: First, what's the second one?
- 46:03Speaker 3: Then a second word. I'm hopeless of this.
- 46:07Speaker 1: It's excellent podcast. Maybe she read sport like.
- 46:14Speaker 3: This is maybe it's not.
- 46:15Speaker 2: I'm rubbish, or just tell us you would have started
- 46:19Speaker 2: I will get there if youtubetopp interructing me.
- 46:22Speaker 3: You would have started at school.
- 46:23Speaker 2: So I bought Evelyn a copy of The Outsiders. I
- 46:28Speaker 2: remember doing that book at school. So Catherine's like, stay gold.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I didn't read books at school. Yeah, stay gold, pliny boy. Right,
- 46:34Speaker 2: So I said, devil, I remember loving this book. So
- 46:37Speaker 2: she read it and she got home. She was reading
- 46:40Speaker 2: on the bus and she goes, I may never recover
- 46:42Speaker 2: from this book.
- 46:43Speaker 3: I'm like, it's not that bad. Anyway.
- 46:45Speaker 2: I read it the other day and the plane and
- 46:46Speaker 2: I was like, okay, this is this book is not great.
- 46:50Speaker 3: It's very depressing.
- 46:51Speaker 2: I said, we'll watch the movie because my memories of
- 46:53Speaker 2: the movie is it had like this all star cast.
- 46:55Speaker 2: They had Tom Cruise and Rob Low and saves and
- 46:59Speaker 2: Patrick sways and Ralph Maccio and see Thomas Howe, which
- 47:03Speaker 2: I just laugh.
- 47:03Speaker 3: I'm like, he didn't really go on?
- 47:05Speaker 4: Just say Patrick?
- 47:06Speaker 3: She said, Patrick, how do you pronounce his last night?
- 47:13Speaker 4: Oh?
- 47:14Speaker 3: Whatever? Okay? So Patrick swazing? Oh god?
- 47:22Speaker 1: Anyway back to No Dribble Recommends is a red hot
- 47:25Speaker 1: segment so far? So so where do you say it's
- 47:30Speaker 1: not great?
- 47:30Speaker 3: Is it just?
- 47:31Speaker 1: Is it really sad? Is that what?
- 47:33Speaker 3: Oh? It's so depressing.
- 47:35Speaker 2: So we watched it last night and halfway through and
- 47:39Speaker 2: this is probably not great parenting. Austin, who's nine, goes, Mum,
- 47:43Speaker 2: this movie is making me feel bad. I said, yeah,
- 47:45Speaker 2: I think it's probably not good. You should go, and
- 47:47Speaker 2: he goes, is there a happy ending? I said, no,
- 47:49Speaker 2: Johnny dies, so he's like what I wonder to prepare
- 47:52Speaker 2: him for that? So he was out, he was gone,
- 47:55Speaker 2: and then like I didn't I didn't remember this. But
- 47:58Speaker 2: even it's not Tom Cruise's best movie, like having having
- 48:01Speaker 2: been a good sort, like he's he's very much in character.
- 48:05Speaker 2: So everyone's like top Cruise doesn't look that great in
- 48:08Speaker 2: this movie. I'm like, yeah, but he embodies the character.
- 48:10Speaker 2: And I mean Rob Robblo looks fantastic, as does Patrick Swayze.
- 48:14Speaker 2: But the whole we got to the end of the
- 48:16Speaker 2: movie and everyone was like, I don't know if that
- 48:18Speaker 2: was worth the one and a half hour commitment. And
- 48:21Speaker 2: I don't remember it being that dark. It was so
- 48:24Speaker 2: dark and so depressing and so like you got you
- 48:26Speaker 2: finish it, and you're like, even though there's a whole
- 48:29Speaker 2: stay gold pony Boy, it took a lot of trauma
- 48:31Speaker 2: to get to that point.
- 48:33Speaker 1: So is this a No Dribble recommends or a No
- 48:35Speaker 1: Dribble doesn't recommend.
- 48:37Speaker 3: I'm I think it's a No Dribble doesn't recommend.
- 48:43Speaker 4: This is the second week of the second.
- 48:50Speaker 2: It was funny though, because last week I was like, yeah,
- 48:52Speaker 2: I'm going to read The Outsiders this week, and then
- 48:54Speaker 2: I'm going to watch the movie and then I'm going
- 48:56Speaker 2: to go into you know, the record no Dribble recommends
- 48:59Speaker 2: next Monday and I'm gonna all over like, oh, I've
- 49:01Speaker 2: got a real retro recommendation for you, and then a
- 49:04Speaker 2: whole we've got to the end.
- 49:05Speaker 4: I'm like, well, well.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I do, I'll have a I will give you a
- 49:10Speaker 1: retro recommendation. One that will I think you should watch
- 49:14Speaker 1: The Lost Boys, which I think came out in about
- 49:16Speaker 1: eighty seven or eighty eight. Key for Sutherland.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Oh yes, vampires.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Yeah, a couple of Cory's are in it. Corey Hayne,
- 49:23Speaker 1: Corey Hart, Diane Wete, Fort Feldman, Corey Hard he wears
- 49:27Speaker 1: his sunglasses at night, doesn't glass, Corey Hayne, and Corey Feldman. So,
- 49:32Speaker 1: and that really does. It stands the test of time.
- 49:34Speaker 1: It's a really good movie. We watched it with the
- 49:37Speaker 1: kids last year and they the children are very resistant
- 49:40Speaker 1: to our movie recommendation. So it has to be like
- 49:43Speaker 1: they'll come in scowling, and so it has to.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Be really good.
- 49:48Speaker 1: And we all agreed that that was a good movie.
- 49:50Speaker 1: So no Dribble recommends watching The Lost Boys again. So
- 49:53Speaker 1: we did that on ol hat. Thank you for saving
- 49:54Speaker 1: this segment. Saving the segment. Okay, so no netball this
- 49:59Speaker 1: week other than child netball. You have a tenth birthday
- 50:03Speaker 1: happening in your house, stuck the wine up, looking forward
- 50:07Speaker 1: to hearing the report on that, and Liz, anything major
- 50:12Speaker 1: happening in your world this week now?
- 50:15Speaker 3: Just you know, being a good farm wife.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Oh nice, nice, good.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Well change, So what we do have to look forward to.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Is we are less than four weeks away from the
- 50:25Speaker 1: start of the Super Netball season and that is very exciting.
- 50:29Speaker 1: So as I said again, the tipping comp will open
- 50:31Speaker 1: for registrations on the twenty seventh of February. Get excited,
- 50:34Speaker 1: get your friends, get involved. Got some good fun prices. Yeah,
