- 0:13Hello friends. How are you going to die?
- 0:16Gee! I hope you're well, here we are.
- 0:19And another new day. It is the 16th of May.
- 0:23It is Tuesday and you have pressed play.
- 0:26And for that, I'm very grateful, I am Sean.
- 0:30And this is a chapter A Day Bible reading podcast.
- 0:36And that means one thing really, it means that you and I are
- 0:39going to read another chapter of today, the Old Testament as we
- 0:43continue reading through Exodus, we are almost at the halfway
- 0:47mark of Exodus. We are almost at the point where
- 0:50we begin to hear what God has to say at length about the way that
- 0:55God is going to be able to be present with his people.
- 0:58But today, well, the Plot thickens a little because
- 1:02everything's been going well, but it really hasn't.
- 1:04They've been having a difficult time trying to get out of Egypt,
- 1:07and they finally done that and now they glanced in their
- 1:10rearview mirror, and they realized, they are in deep deep
- 1:15doo-doo, and they need some serious help.
- 1:18And today today, God pulls out his trump card and he plays an
- 1:24incredible card of saving. And this, this is a very, very
- 1:28special moment for the the people of Israel.
- 1:31So, all that said, let us read together how God Saves these
- 1:35people in the next step of this journey in Exodus chapter 14.
- 1:50Then the lord gave these instructions, to Moses order the
- 1:55Israelites to turn back and camp at Pi her Arif between McDowell
- 2:01and the Sea Camp. There along the shore across
- 2:05from Bales F on then, Pharaoh will think the Israelites are
- 2:10confused. They are trapped in the
- 2:12wilderness. And once again, I will harden,
- 2:16Pharaoh's heart, and he will chase after you.
- 2:19I have planned. In order to display my glory
- 2:23through pharaoh, and his whole Army.
- 2:26After this, the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.
- 2:32So, the Israelites Camp there as they were told, when word
- 2:36reached the king of Egypt, that the Israelites had fled pharaoh
- 2:39and his officials change their minds.
- 2:42What have we done letting all those Israelite slaves?
- 2:46Get away? They asked so Pharaoh, harnessed
- 2:49his Chariot and Called up his troops, he took with him, 600 of
- 2:54Egypt's best chariots along with the rest of the Chariots of
- 2:57Egypt. Each with its Commander, the
- 3:00Lord hardened, the heart of pharaoh, the king of Egypt.
- 3:03So he chased after the people of Israel who had left with fists
- 3:07raised in defines the Egyptians chased after them, with all the
- 3:12forces and Pharaohs Army all his horses and chariots, his
- 3:16charioteers and his troops, the Egyptians caught up with it.
- 3:20Believe Israel as they were camped beside the shore near pie
- 3:24her arith across from Bales effing as Pharaoh approached.
- 3:29The people of Israel looked up and panicked.
- 3:32When they saw the Egyptians overtaking them, they cried out
- 3:35to the Lord. And they said to Moses, why did
- 3:38you bring us out here to die in the wilderness?
- 3:42Weren't there enough, Graves for us in, Egypt.
- 3:45What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?
- 3:49Didn't we tell you? This would happen while we were
- 3:51still in Egypt. We said, leave us alone.
- 3:56Let us be slaves to the Egyptians.
- 3:58It's better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the
- 4:01wilderness. But Moses told the people don't
- 4:06be afraid, just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today,
- 4:12the Egyptians you see today will never be seen again.
- 4:16The Lord himself will fight for you.
- 4:18Just stay calm. Then the Lord said to Moses.
- 4:24Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving,
- 4:28pick up your stuff and raise your hand over the sea, divide
- 4:33the water. So, the Israelites can walk
- 4:35through the middle of the sea on dry ground.
- 4:38And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians that they will
- 4:42charge in after the Israelites. My great Glory will be displayed
- 4:46through pharaoh and his troops, his chariots and his
- 4:50charioteers. When my glory is displayed
- 4:53through them. All Egypt will see my glory and
- 4:57know that I am the Lord. Then the angel of God, who had
- 5:02been leading the people of Israel moved to the rear of the
- 5:05camp, the pillar of cloud. Also, moved from the front and
- 5:10stood behind them. The cloud settled between the
- 5:13Egyptian and Israelite camps. As Darkness.
- 5:17Fell the cloud. Turn to fire lighting up the
- 5:21night but the Egyptians in Israelites did not approach each
- 5:24other all night. Then Moses raised his hand over
- 5:28the sea and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a
- 5:34strong East. Wind, the wind blew, all that
- 5:37night turning the seabed into dry land.
- 5:41So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on
- 5:45dry ground with walls of water on each side, Then the Egyptians
- 5:53all the Pharaohs horses, chariots and charioteers, chased
- 5:57them into the middle of the sea. But just before Dawn, the Lord
- 6:01looked down on the Egyptian Army from the pillar of fire and
- 6:04cloud and he threw their forces into total confusion.
- 6:09He twisted their chariot wheels, making their chariots difficult
- 6:12to drive. Let's get out of here.
- 6:15Away from those Israelites, the Egyptian shouted.
- 6:18The Lord is fighting for them again.
- 6:20Steer gypped. When all the Israelites had
- 6:23reached, the other side, the Lord said to Moses, raise your
- 6:28hand over the sea. Again, then the waters will rush
- 6:32back and cover the Egyptians and their chariots and charioteers.
- 6:37So as the sun began to rise, Moses raised his hand over the
- 6:42sea and the water rushed back into its usual place.
- 6:47The Egyptians tried to escape but the Lord swept them into the
- 6:51sea. And the waters returned and
- 6:54covered all the Chariots and charioteers the entire Army of
- 6:59pharaoh. Of all the Egyptians who had
- 7:02chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived,
- 7:07but the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the
- 7:10sea on dry ground. As the water, stood up like a
- 7:15wall on both sides. That is how the Lord rescued
- 7:19Israel, from the hand of the Egyptians that day and the
- 7:23Israelites saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed up on the
- 7:26seashore. When the people of Israel saw
- 7:29the mighty power Power that the Lord had Unleashed against the
- 7:32Egyptians, they were filled with, or before him.
- 7:36They put their faith in the Lord.
- 7:39And in his servant Moses, Oh God, that is such a cool
- 7:55image. That is incredible.
- 7:58That you would display your power and such a way to save
- 8:02your people. Our minds Boggle and find it
- 8:05hard to comprehend. This as a as a story of your
- 8:09actual engagement and that this could actually happen.
- 8:12But here it is in your word telling us the story.
- 8:15So we thank you for your miraculous reaching down into
- 8:20this time and space. help us to have bigger hearts with bigger

- 8:35people, and we have seen that in what you have done in Jesus,
