- 0:35What is going on, everybody?
- 0:37Who's jazzed to be here?
- 0:39I see Megan is.
- 0:40What's going on, Kenneth, Corey, Trent,
- 0:43Olive?
- 0:44I am live in Great Falls,
- 0:46Montana at our Airbnb.
- 0:49So I'm working off of an iPad today.
- 0:53The one drawback to our Airbnb, first,
- 0:56it's amazing.
- 0:57It's a little two bedroom,
- 0:58one bath house in downtown Great Falls,
- 1:02which the downtown isn't.
- 1:04Very big, but it's downtown Great Falls.
- 1:08The one drawback is the
- 1:10Wi-Fi is not awesome.
- 1:13So I'm working off my iPad
- 1:16because I have five G on my iPad.
- 1:20And so that's how I'm doing the show.
- 1:26So anyway, NAI.
- 1:32What I am not jazzed about
- 1:34is all the negativity lately.
- 1:37We're not here for negativity today.
- 1:39We're here for positivity.
- 1:41So hopefully you'll like today's show.
- 1:46And Corey is jazzy like Jeff.
- 1:50Jake with his typical welcome.
- 1:56So anyway...
- 2:00So yeah,
- 2:00my wife and I flew out here to
- 2:02Montana on Saturday.
- 2:05We got here about noon mountain time.
- 2:10I got to hang out with our
- 2:10daughter for most of the day.
- 2:12She drove us around, showed us around.
- 2:16And then yesterday we went
- 2:17up into the mountains,
- 2:19which are only about a half an hour away.
- 2:23And then we went to a lake
- 2:25where she does her paddle boarding.
- 2:27And it was absolutely gorgeous.
- 2:31Words do not do it justice.
- 2:34It was so peaceful and so beautiful.
- 2:42And we just kind of sat on the beach,
- 2:44kind of took it all in for some time.
- 2:47And it's freaking incredible.
- 2:54Yeah, they have internet in Montana,
- 2:56but it is not awesome.
- 2:58Not awesome at all.
- 3:01Mark Phillips,
- 3:02what's the temp there today?
- 3:04Like I think the high seventy seven.
- 3:06There's no humidity in the air at all.
- 3:09It's I think it's going to
- 3:10get to the eighties by the
- 3:11end of the week.
- 3:13But this is really probably
- 3:15the my daughter said the
- 3:16last time we can really get
- 3:18out here where it's not
- 3:19going to like take that
- 3:20bitter dip into the super
- 3:22cold weather for their winter.
- 3:26But like yesterday when we
- 3:27were driving out into the mountains,
- 3:30There were signs up like, hey,
- 3:32it's legal to have studded
- 3:33tires starting October first.
- 3:37So, yeah,
- 3:37in fifteen days they can start
- 3:39putting studded tires on
- 3:42because and they're they're
- 3:45actually predicted to get
- 3:46one of the worst winters
- 3:47they've had in a while.
- 3:48So my daughter is super
- 3:49excited about that.
- 3:51But yeah, great trip out there yesterday.
- 3:55But the most important part
- 3:56of it all is that
- 4:00know as a dad seeing my
- 4:02daughter so so happy she
- 4:05absolutely loves it here um
- 4:08you know growing up she
- 4:09wanted to be a photographer
- 4:11she's wanted to be a
- 4:12photographer since she was
- 4:13in middle school she knew
- 4:15the school she wanted to go
- 4:16to and she got herself
- 4:18accepted into the number
- 4:20one photojournalism school
- 4:21in the country um
- 4:26And it's hard when you're a
- 4:27parent to truly support a
- 4:30kid that wants to be an artist.
- 4:32Because in the back of my head is like,
- 4:35how are you going to support yourself?
- 4:37And yet we pushed through
- 4:43because she wanted it so bad.
- 4:44And she's known what she
- 4:45wanted to be for so long,
- 4:48buying her cameras in high school.
- 4:51and really pushing her in that direction.
- 4:54She went and showed her
- 4:55portfolio to the school she
- 4:57wanted to go to.
- 4:58Two days later,
- 4:59she was accepted into the program.
- 5:01She's just a remarkable kid
- 5:04with knowing what she wants.
- 5:06And to see her out here thriving,
- 5:08doing what she loves, taking pictures,
- 5:13She's a fashion photographer now.
- 5:14She takes pictures of people
- 5:17in clothes that then she
- 5:19runs their social media
- 5:20account for all of that.
- 5:21So super proud of her, and she's so,
- 5:26so happy.
- 5:30Does she have an IG page we
- 5:32can follow to support her?
- 5:34So the company has an IG page.
- 5:37It is North Forty Apparel, I believe.
- 5:42n-o-r-t-h four-o apparel um
- 5:47she runs that ig page for
- 5:48the company um and again
- 5:52it's for ranchers and
- 5:53farmers and um and they
- 5:58sell you know boots and
- 6:01hats and shirts um stuff
- 6:04like that but they also
- 6:05they sell a lot of things
- 6:06but anyway she's a part
- 6:07she's the head of their
- 6:08apparel division uh social media
- 6:12um so yeah but to see her
- 6:15like she and she why she
- 6:18loves it out here which is
- 6:20in this current climate is
- 6:22she's like it's so
- 6:23apolitical there are no
- 6:25All that people care about
- 6:27out here is their land.
- 6:29And land is bigger than money.
- 6:31And it's really quiet.
- 6:34And you don't get into the
- 6:35big political discussions
- 6:37like she was used to back
- 6:39in Ohio or even in
- 6:41Pennsylvania where she lived for a while.
- 6:44And she just loves it.
- 6:45It's very peaceful.
- 6:47Everybody kind of
- 6:49just goes about their own
- 6:50business and it's just awesome.
- 6:56She's quite something.
- 6:58The only thing that she's
- 7:00struggling with right now
- 7:01is learning how to budget
- 7:02as an independent woman in a new place,
- 7:07paying for an apartment and
- 7:09a new car and all of that stuff.
- 7:13But other than that, she's doing so good.
- 7:15And I'm so happy that we got
- 7:17to come out here and see all of that.
- 7:21So I don't know if you guys know,
- 7:23but Jamie,
- 7:25my co-host on the Sunday Night Show,
- 7:26Jamie Latimer,
- 7:28she had hip surgery on Friday.
- 7:31And I wanted to give you
- 7:32guys a quick update on that.
- 7:35It went really well.
- 7:38She posted on Snapchat and I
- 7:42think she even put a video
- 7:43up on IG showing her under
- 7:46the influence of some
- 7:48narcotic to get her into the surgery.
- 7:52But she is doing really well
- 7:54with all of that.
- 7:57she's been dealing with this
- 7:58for as long as she can
- 7:59remember like all the way
- 8:00back to college um some
- 8:02stuff with um with her hip
- 8:08so hopefully this is
- 8:09something to really correct
- 8:10that issue and who knows
- 8:12maybe she's even fitter
- 8:13than we think she is
- 8:15wouldn't that be incredible
- 8:18I trained olive with one of
- 8:19the truest statements ever
- 8:21uh budging is hard for a
- 8:22lot of adults it is
- 8:25it is um and uh shay got to
- 8:30see that video of jamie
- 8:32yeah she she I think it was
- 8:36her husband was sending me
- 8:37uh her snapchats uh before
- 8:40surgery and after it was it was crazy um
- 8:46But the good news is I don't
- 8:47think there was any tear in
- 8:49the labrum of the hip.
- 8:51It was just getting it
- 8:53aligned correctly and they
- 8:54did shave some bone.
- 8:56But hopefully she's doing a lot better.
- 8:59But it's probably going to
- 9:02be a full six months before
- 9:04she's back to her normal self physically.
- 9:09So it's going to be a lengthy rehab.
- 9:12I think that's what she told
- 9:13us in the group chat.
- 9:20Yeah.
- 9:20Hip surgery doesn't sound fun.
- 9:23No, no surgery sounds fun, to be honest.
- 9:28And trained Olive as someone
- 9:30who has had surgery in June.
- 9:32I know how stir-crazy she's going to be.
- 9:33Oh, she's going to be unbearable.
- 9:36I feel bad for her husband, Aaron,
- 9:38that's going to have to
- 9:39deal with her over the next six months.
- 9:43she does own a gym and
- 9:44hopefully she can at least
- 9:46um go be there and support
- 9:49her customers and her um
- 9:54and do all that kind of
- 9:55stuff so uh joseph ramirez
- 9:59says bp one five seven bpc
- 10:04uh she would never do that
- 10:06um she wants to compete uh
- 10:08she what she would never um
- 10:12because of that want to compete.
- 10:14And she's very adamant about
- 10:16having a clean sport.
- 10:18Um, she would never, ever do that,
- 10:22even if it would help her.
- 10:24So, um,
- 10:27but I've heard amazing things about it.
- 10:30It really does help with the
- 10:31recovery of surgeries and
- 10:33things like that.
- 10:34So, um, yeah.
- 10:40Um,
- 10:42I don't know how long this
- 10:43show is going to be.
- 10:43It depends on what you guys
- 10:44want to talk about.
- 10:45But I did see I have been very,
- 10:48very disconnected from
- 10:50everything CrossFit over the weekend.
- 10:52Thank you to our stats and info person,
- 10:55Holly,
- 10:56for putting out adaptive athlete finishes,
- 11:01schedules,
- 11:02all of that to keep our account
- 11:04active and support those
- 11:05who competed at the
- 11:06adaptive CrossFit games this weekend.
- 11:09I'll probably go back and
- 11:10watch a little bit of it this week,
- 11:13and I'll give some feedback
- 11:14as to the broadcast and things like that.
- 11:16But kudos to everybody who
- 11:19participated this last weekend.
- 11:21But I was on a plane for a
- 11:22long time on Saturday,
- 11:24and I was pretty much off
- 11:27the grid where we went
- 11:28yesterday and couldn't get
- 11:30anything in cell-wise.
- 11:35So, yeah, Shay,
- 11:37we're going to get to that in a second.
- 11:41Um, so, uh, Jeff Baco asks,
- 11:47does anyone know of any oral BPC one, one,
- 11:49five, seven that works?
- 11:51I've never even heard of, uh,
- 11:54an oral BPC one, five, seven.
- 11:57Everybody I know that has
- 11:58taken it and has told me has worked, uh,
- 12:01has been the injection.
- 12:06So, um, yeah, that's what I heard, Jeff.
- 12:18Mark Phillips says,
- 12:22not sure it would survive the gut.
- 12:24Yeah.
- 12:27They're advertised on IG all the time,
- 12:30but they all look like scams.
- 12:31Yeah, they probably are.
- 12:35Lana says, adaptive games are incredible.
- 12:38Lana would know.
- 12:39Lana follows so much of this stuff.
- 12:42She's just a rock star when
- 12:43it comes to what's going on in space.
- 12:46Again,
- 12:47I'll probably watch back some of it
- 12:48this week.
- 12:49My daughter's going to be
- 12:51working for most of the day,
- 12:54the next few days,
- 12:54so I'll piddle around
- 12:57through some different stuff.
- 13:00But the only thing I
- 13:01actually caught up on
- 13:01yesterday was the Bears game,
- 13:03which I shouldn't have.
- 13:04It was...
- 13:06atrocious.
- 13:08They didn't even show up.
- 13:10And then I got beat in our
- 13:11fantasy league by Natalie Lemieux.
- 13:15She crushed me.
- 13:16She still has people going tonight.
- 13:18I'm done.
- 13:19And she's already ahead of me.
- 13:20So it was not a good
- 13:21football weekend for me.
- 13:23My wife Steelers lost too.
- 13:25So it's,
- 13:26it was really just a bad football
- 13:27weekend.
- 13:30So
- 13:34Jay Birch site injection is
- 13:36probably your best bet.
- 13:37Yeah.
- 13:38It gets right to the, the,
- 13:44the needed area quickly.
- 13:46So, and Joseph Ramirez.
- 13:50Yes.
- 13:51The bears haven't shown up
- 13:52since eighty five.
- 13:54We all know I've been a fan
- 13:56since before that.
- 13:58I know.
- 13:58I trust me.
- 13:59I know every single day.
- 14:05How about the Steeler who
- 14:06let the kickoff drop behind
- 14:07him for a Seahawks TD?
- 14:11I've seen it happen before.
- 14:14The college rule is if the
- 14:15ball gets to the end zone,
- 14:17it becomes a dead ball.
- 14:19The NFL rule is it's a live
- 14:20ball until someone downs it
- 14:23in the end zone.
- 14:26or it turns into a TD.
- 14:28He did not know the
- 14:29difference between the
- 14:30college rule and the NFL rule,
- 14:35and that really cost the
- 14:37Steelers probably the game yesterday.
- 14:45What about the Bears with
- 14:46Grossman almost won the Super Bowl?
- 14:49They did.
- 14:50We've had little flirts with success,
- 14:53but dude,
- 14:53we haven't had a winning season since
- 14:56Winning season.
- 14:58Not playoffs, not Super Bowl,
- 15:00just a winning season.
- 15:05Awful.
- 15:12Jamie kicked my butt in fantasy this week.
- 15:15My team was horrible.
- 15:16I trained all of getting
- 15:18crushed just like me.
- 15:19There we go.
- 15:24At least Tyson got in.
- 15:25Bajan completed two or three
- 15:26passes for twenty seven yards,
- 15:27along with two rushes for seven.
- 15:29Yeah, he got in.
- 15:31But by that point,
- 15:33the Lions were just teeing off.
- 15:36And so smartly,
- 15:38the Bears just started
- 15:39handing the ball off more.
- 15:43So.
- 15:48uh jeff bako scott is a bob
- 15:50avalini fan that's how old
- 15:51he is I actually have I
- 15:53have a bear's helmet that
- 15:54hangs behind me I don't
- 15:56even know if you can see it
- 15:58and bob avalini is uh a
- 16:01signature on that helmet so
- 16:04that's that is how old and
- 16:06long I've been following
- 16:07the bears all right oh my
- 16:14gosh I didn't even know
- 16:15they made one of these
- 16:19I have a William Perry GI
- 16:20Joe figure at my parents'
- 16:22house still didn't even
- 16:23know they made a fridge.
- 16:27I, I have a really,
- 16:29I have a love hate
- 16:30relationship with the fridge.
- 16:32Um, I, I was not a huge fan.
- 16:37He, he was a flash in the pan.
- 16:39He was, um,
- 16:42he was good for fun during
- 16:44the eighty-five season,
- 16:46but as a defensive tackle, he was okay.
- 16:49Um, anyway, um,
- 16:57Justin colors on be
- 16:58friendly after this show,
- 16:59if anyone's interested.
- 17:02Okay.
- 17:03I actually talked to Justin
- 17:04this morning by text.
- 17:07Um,
- 17:09I have not, Aaron,
- 17:10talked about Kotler yet.
- 17:11We're just getting to it now.
- 17:14But Justin and I did text this morning.
- 17:17I did congratulate him on
- 17:18the move to HWPO.
- 17:21If people don't know that that happened,
- 17:25it was announced this
- 17:26morning that he was going to HWPO.
- 17:31And I'm trying to see if I
- 17:32have share screen.
- 17:36I do not see share screen as
- 17:37one of my menu items on this iPad.
- 17:41So I can't share the announcement.
- 17:49So anyway,
- 17:52we'll do that here at some point.
- 17:55Maybe I'll be able to get on
- 17:56to some Wi-Fi or hotspot
- 17:58later in the week.
- 18:01But I did text back and forth with him.
- 18:03Yeah, Underdogs is gone.
- 18:04He's closing the doors on Underdogs.
- 18:10I actually talked to him a
- 18:11lot about it at the age group games.
- 18:14And I've talked to him about
- 18:15it previously to that.
- 18:18With his daughter getting sick,
- 18:20his priorities have changed completely.
- 18:23What he loves doing is coaching.
- 18:24He doesn't love running a business.
- 18:27He says that in his statement today.
- 18:29And so he's moved over as a
- 18:32coach for HWPO.
- 18:35I think it is actually a perfect fit
- 18:39The one thing that HWPO is
- 18:41missing with their program
- 18:45is a coach with the passion
- 18:48that Justin has to coach
- 18:54elite athletes to the CrossFit Games.
- 18:58And his goal is to bring
- 18:59another champion back to HWPO.
- 19:04And...
- 19:07And so it's the perfect fit.
- 19:09And then Justin didn't want
- 19:10to run a business.
- 19:11He started underdogs and he was like,
- 19:15and he even says it himself.
- 19:16He was a mom and pop shop in
- 19:18this world of like the big
- 19:20proven and the big mayhem.
- 19:23And even HWPO had way more
- 19:25resources than he could
- 19:27supply at underdogs for the athletes.
- 19:31And so the move over for him
- 19:33gives him resources he
- 19:35didn't have before.
- 19:37And and now he brings them a
- 19:39coach with passion that
- 19:41they've never really had.
- 19:43So.
- 19:45And the one thing he told me
- 19:46is he's really not going to
- 19:48be he doesn't love doing programming.
- 19:50He loves coaching.
- 19:52And so I think all the
- 19:53people at HWPO that are
- 19:54doing the programming will
- 19:55continue to do the
- 19:57programming where he will
- 19:59be there just to coach those athletes.
- 20:04I know there's a lot of
- 20:04questions popping in.
- 20:09Is Alex an HWPO athlete?
- 20:11I do not see the two of them
- 20:13breaking up for any reason.
- 20:17So I believe that Alex will
- 20:20just go straight over to HWPO.
- 20:29Are Alex and Justin moving to Boston?
- 20:31I do not believe so.
- 20:33I believe that Justin will
- 20:34go ahead and stay in Vegas,
- 20:36and he'll probably just do
- 20:37things remote from there.
- 20:52Aaron Frazier,
- 20:52can you bring Keal Lehman to the podium?
- 20:54Hey, maybe.
- 20:55Maybe that's the thing we
- 20:56just were missing.
- 21:07Megan Bauman, he's a great coach,
- 21:08so hoping it's a good fit for him, too.
- 21:10I think it's a great fit for him.
- 21:14Him and Matt O'Keefe are tight.
- 21:16This seems to be the right fit for him.
- 21:20He's going with someone he trusts,
- 21:22and Justin's a big trust guy.
- 21:24Yeah.
- 21:26It's just his priorities had
- 21:28to shift once Ivy was
- 21:30diagnosed with this kidney disease.
- 21:32And he needed to do
- 21:33something that allowed him
- 21:36to do what he loves on one
- 21:37hand and to be with those
- 21:39he loved on the other.
- 21:41And this does that.
- 21:42It takes a lot of the
- 21:43minutia away from what he was doing.
- 21:46And now all he's doing is coaching,
- 21:49just coaching.
- 21:54I agree completely, Craig.
- 21:56Justin would be a great
- 21:57front man for HWPO.
- 21:59Nobody has the passion for
- 22:02coaching and they're
- 22:02athletes like Justin does.
- 22:05And I think it's a great fit for them.
- 22:07It's something they've been
- 22:08missing for a while at HWPO.
- 22:11And maybe this will bring
- 22:12back their elite division
- 22:14as part of their training camp.
- 22:22Jay Burch, Alex Amano,
- 22:24both will become HWPO from
- 22:26my understanding.
- 22:27I think all of his athletes
- 22:28will go over to HWPO.
- 22:31I think it's going to be a
- 22:31pretty seamless transition.
- 22:33It's just like when other
- 22:35coaches have left,
- 22:36like Kiefer went to Proven from Underdogs,
- 22:39and Kiefer took all his
- 22:41athletes with him.
- 22:42It's going to be the same
- 22:43thing that happened there, I believe.
- 22:56Jeff Baker,
- 22:56would Shane Orr or Mayhem take
- 22:58on athlete who wanted to
- 22:59podium at the games and do it remotely?
- 23:01They do right now.
- 23:05There's a lot of Mayhem
- 23:06athletes that don't live in Cookville.
- 23:08Austin Hatfield lives in
- 23:09West Virginia for now.
- 23:13And Proven has all the
- 23:16Australian athletes.
- 23:20Olivia Kerstetter doesn't
- 23:21live in Nashville.
- 23:24She does that from Kansas.
- 23:26So they all do it now.
- 23:29I think they all found that
- 23:30having everybody in the
- 23:31same place competing
- 23:32against each other every
- 23:33single day isn't
- 23:35necessarily the best fit.
- 23:37That actually having some
- 23:40people remote and working
- 23:42with them there takes away
- 23:44some of that burnout
- 23:47competition that can happen
- 23:49from day to day.
- 23:51Yeah, Colton.
- 23:52Colton is a remote athlete.
- 23:54Megan's dead on.
- 23:55Colton is a remote athlete
- 23:56with proven as well.
- 24:03At AI, family always is priority,
- 24:06work is second.
- 24:06Exactly.
- 24:08Exactly.
- 24:10And again, I think it's the right fit.
- 24:13I don't think Matt ever
- 24:15wanted to be the coach of elite athletes.
- 24:18And because of that,
- 24:19HWPO kind of fell out of that.
- 24:22They just didn't give... Other than Mal,
- 24:27I just don't think they
- 24:28gave it the attention that it needed.
- 24:31And then... And Matt has one
- 24:35way of doing things.
- 24:37And like we saw with Jason Hopper,
- 24:38that just didn't work for him.
- 24:40Where now you have Justin Kotler,
- 24:42who is...
- 24:44a little more like
- 24:45independently programming
- 24:48for people and making it fit for them.
- 24:53And I think that's what they needed.
- 24:55They needed that coach that
- 24:57loves on their athletes,
- 25:00that understands life.
- 25:03You know, to be fair,
- 25:04Justin's much older than Matt is.
- 25:08He just understands more.
- 25:10And so...
- 25:12Bringing him on is a great move for HWPO.
- 25:15Him going there is a great
- 25:16move because it gives him
- 25:18more resources because HWPO
- 25:20is killing it in affiliate programming,
- 25:22private programming.
- 25:24They do golf programming, high rocks,
- 25:26all those other things.
- 25:28This just gives him more
- 25:29resources to be able to
- 25:31support his athletes the
- 25:33way he wants to and will
- 25:34give him the opportunity to
- 25:36fight for that next
- 25:38champion that he wants to coach.
- 25:52Jeff Baco,
- 25:55I'm a boomer and don't believe
- 25:56in work from home either.
- 25:57So I guess the road has
- 25:58moved on and I am still in the past.
- 26:01See,
- 26:01I love work from home because I get to
- 26:03do it.
- 26:05And I think it works in certain scenarios.
- 26:09Like in my scenario, I work from home,
- 26:13but I test a system that
- 26:15would go to our customers.
- 26:17And because I'm at home,
- 26:18I get to test it from
- 26:19outside our firewall,
- 26:21just like the customer would test it.
- 26:23So it makes sense for me.
- 26:26But I get what you're saying too.
- 26:27Okay.
- 26:38Uh, Jeff, don't worry,
- 26:38you're a protected class.
- 26:40There you go.
- 26:43I am too.
- 26:51Lately,
- 26:51Matt is spending more time in
- 26:52videos and IG posts,
- 26:54but it looks forced and uncomfortable.
- 26:56I don't disagree.
- 26:57I don't think that this is
- 26:58what Matt really wants to do.
- 27:01all the time and justin
- 27:03loves doing media he loves
- 27:06talking to people it's
- 27:08going to be a great fit for
- 27:10him uh yeah affiliate is
- 27:20michelle latondra
- 27:29Dildo, Matt, Tia,
- 27:30Rich can't coach of athletes.
- 27:32They were so dominant and
- 27:34trained in a way that any
- 27:36athlete doesn't give the
- 27:37effort they gave will be
- 27:39perceived as not trying hard enough.
- 27:43There is an old saying that
- 27:46those who were really great
- 27:48have a hard time coaching
- 27:50because a lot of things
- 27:51come naturally to them too.
- 27:53So it's hard to teach
- 27:54something that didn't come hard to you.
- 27:59If you have to go through
- 28:00the steps yourself,
- 28:01then you kind of understand it better.
- 28:21Spending the time traveling
- 28:22on the road can be spent
- 28:23doing more things at home.
- 28:27Exactly.
- 28:41I work from home and my
- 28:42house can start to feel like a prison.
- 28:49You know,
- 28:50you do have to kind of make that
- 28:51concerted effort to get out of the house.
- 28:54And this show helps me a lot.
- 28:56Just going to my basement,
- 28:57talking to you guys for half hour,
- 28:59forty five minutes every day.
- 29:01Just as a nice break in the
- 29:03middle of the day that I
- 29:03need to kind of get out of my rut.
- 29:09And then like going and
- 29:11working out or going to a
- 29:13gym or going hanging out
- 29:15with friends like that just
- 29:17becomes more priority when
- 29:18you work from home.
- 29:30uh you need a second
- 29:30computer in the basement
- 29:31set up mark yep yep that's
- 29:35what I do um so yeah so I'm
- 29:45excited for justin we
- 29:46talked this morning he's
- 29:47super excited uh I had
- 29:53guessed that he was going
- 29:54to make this move
- 29:56We were going to meet at the
- 29:57age group games,
- 29:58and I was going to tell him my guess.
- 30:01I did not get the right training camp,
- 30:03though.
- 30:04But I did know he was going
- 30:05to make a move.
- 30:07I just picked the wrong one.
- 30:11So my initial gut was that
- 30:14he was going to go with HWPO.
- 30:16but I second-guessed it
- 30:17because of something I heard in a podcast,
- 30:20and then I thought he was
- 30:21going to go to TTT because
- 30:24they announced in their
- 30:25podcast that he had helped
- 30:26them out at the games this year,
- 30:29and they really appreciated
- 30:30his help with their
- 30:31athletes because of the two buildings,
- 30:34and that's where I got
- 30:37swung in the wrong direction.
- 30:44So there it is.
- 30:45Yeah.
- 30:57Jeff Baco,
- 30:58I'm just annoyed that I look
- 30:59forward to retirement to be
- 31:01able to go to Walmart at
- 31:02ten AM when everyone is at
- 31:03work and now everyone works from home.
- 31:06So it's as crowded all day long.
- 31:10Well, if they're working from home,
- 31:12they're not supposed to be at Walmart.
- 31:14They just need better bosses.
- 31:24And my wife has her office
- 31:26in the spare bedroom,
- 31:27and I'm down in the foyer
- 31:29with my computer.
- 31:30We both wear headphones.
- 31:31That's just like being in the office, man.
- 31:33I used to wear headphones in
- 31:34the office all day long.
- 31:37It's just nice now.
- 31:38My wife gets to work from
- 31:40home a couple days a week,
- 31:42and then it's headphones time for us too.
- 31:44So there's that.
- 31:54Jay Burch,
- 31:56did you know they sell many road
- 31:57casters at Target?
- 31:58I did not.
- 32:06Best time for Walmart is nine p.m.
- 32:09I need to correct you.
- 32:10The best time for Walmart is never.
- 32:14I do not go to Walmart
- 32:15unless it is an absolute emergency.
- 32:23Where I live, the Walmart is busy.
- 32:25Twenty-four hours a day.
- 32:28It's never a good time to go.
- 32:31I go to an alternative store
- 32:33because it's just way
- 32:34better than Walmart for the crowds.
- 32:40It's just awful.
- 32:41Okay.
- 32:55I saw a whole podcast set up
- 32:57there the other day.
- 32:58You know what's crazy?
- 33:00I'm going to let you guys in
- 33:01on a little secret.
- 33:03I'm sitting here on an iPad, no Rodecaster,
- 33:06no microphone, and I'm doing a podcast.
- 33:10If you truly, truly wanted to do a podcast,
- 33:13you don't need any of that stuff.
- 33:16You just have to have a
- 33:17computer of some sort and
- 33:20the software to get online.
- 33:22That's it.
- 33:26And everybody asks me, like,
- 33:29how do you start?
- 33:30How do you start?
- 33:31You just fire it up and you go.
- 33:33When you first start,
- 33:34nobody's listening to you anyway.
- 33:36And that's the perfect time
- 33:37to get started when nobody's listening.
- 33:41Because you can screw up all
- 33:42you want and you can listen
- 33:43back and you can make
- 33:44changes and do all those things.
- 33:49And I've said this over and over again.
- 33:51These people that get a
- 33:53podcast on another channel,
- 33:56that already has listeners and viewers,
- 34:00that is so scary to me.
- 34:02I can't like, cause when you,
- 34:04your first podcast,
- 34:06you have tons of people listening to you.
- 34:09Even if it's a hundred,
- 34:10that's way more than, um,
- 34:14that's way more than I ever had.
- 34:17I mean,
- 34:17when I first started my first ten
- 34:18episodes, it was my mom.
- 34:20She was the only one that listened.
- 34:24Um,
- 34:25And so you can mess up all you want,
- 34:28but like the glintons that
- 34:29went right onto a savant channel, um,
- 34:33you have the out in the box
- 34:36office girls that went on, be friendly.
- 34:40Like they started up in
- 34:41front of the whole world.
- 34:44I could never, ever have done that.
- 34:47I screwed up so much early on.
- 34:53Um,
- 34:55Best time is end of the month.
- 34:57Nobody is there because poor
- 34:58people don't have any EBT left.
- 35:02That's good logic, Seema.
- 35:12You sound better than dense on this iPad,
- 35:14too.
- 35:15I know she's like,
- 35:17she had a mic and then she got a new mic.
- 35:19And I was like, where...
- 35:23It was not there.
- 35:25This was the worst audio
- 35:26I've heard of hers.
- 35:28It was a good episode today, but yeah.
- 35:33I thought she got a new mic.
- 35:35If that's the new mic,
- 35:37she needs to go back to the old one.
- 35:46Jay Burch,
- 35:46so are you just running through
- 35:47YouTube or do you have any
- 35:49StreamYard running?
- 35:50So I have StreamYard running.
- 35:51That's what allows me to
- 35:52pull over the comments.
- 35:54But when I first started,
- 35:55I did it straight through YouTube.
- 35:57Well, actually, when I first started,
- 35:58we were audio only.
- 36:00So I just did it and
- 36:02recorded it and then pushed
- 36:03it out to all the audio platforms.
- 36:08And then when we went over to YouTube,
- 36:10I ran it.
- 36:11We did everything recorded online.
- 36:14and then I just uploaded it
- 36:15all to YouTube.
- 36:19If you're gonna go live with a chat,
- 36:22then you probably need a
- 36:23StreamYard or one of the
- 36:25other softwares that allow you to do that,
- 36:29because it allows you to be
- 36:30more interactive with the audience.
- 36:33But yeah.
- 36:39A five a.m.
- 36:39squat club.
- 36:41Preach, just do it, yep.
- 36:44My mom doesn't watch my lives.
- 36:47Yeah, my mom does.
- 36:49She's been watching the
- 36:50lunch show for the last couple weeks.
- 36:53Because she had a little mishap at work.
- 36:57And so she's been off for a couple weeks.
- 37:00And she's been listening every day,
- 37:01but she's babysitting my dog.
- 37:03And so she hasn't been able
- 37:04to watch me in the
- 37:06afternoon because my dog
- 37:07goes absolutely apeshit
- 37:09when he hears my voice on the TV.
- 37:19It's still just your mom listening.
- 37:20She just got tech savvy,
- 37:22created forty different
- 37:23accounts and comments from
- 37:24themselves simultaneously.
- 37:26Hey.
- 37:28Still breaks up my day and
- 37:29still fun for me to do then.
- 37:31Hi, mom.
- 37:36They screw up too,
- 37:37but just don't hide the mistakes.
- 37:39What I love about the Glintons,
- 37:40and I've said this over the
- 37:42last few weeks, is they are so...
- 37:49energetic and enthusiastic
- 37:51about everything in the space.
- 37:54And I think some of us that
- 37:55have been in it a long time
- 37:56have gotten jaded over time.
- 37:59And they really have refreshed my love,
- 38:02my overall love for the sport.
- 38:05And that's where like,
- 38:06when I go to the age group games,
- 38:08like I am,
- 38:10those athletes make me so giddy.
- 38:14So giddy.
- 38:16I just love hanging out with them,
- 38:18probably because I'm fifty
- 38:19five and they're all my age
- 38:21and we can sit and chat and
- 38:24tell stories and and we all
- 38:26can relate to each other.
- 38:28They all work jobs.
- 38:30They all have kids.
- 38:33that's what the glintons are
- 38:34for me man they like when
- 38:35they were at the games and
- 38:36their show right after
- 38:38talking about meeting this
- 38:39person and that person like
- 38:41I remember when that was my
- 38:42first thing when I was a
- 38:43volunteer I used they used
- 38:45to call me the selfie king
- 38:47when I was uh back as a
- 38:49volunteer I would get my
- 38:50picture taken with
- 38:51everybody and uh and it
- 38:58So they actually have
- 39:00re-energized my love and my
- 39:04joy in the sport because
- 39:06they just are sharing with
- 39:08us their perspective that
- 39:10I've lost because of being
- 39:13jaded through different things.
- 39:15And I just love the fact
- 39:18that they're very open and
- 39:19honest about it and love that.
- 39:24So.
- 39:28The Glintons are very talented, they are.
- 39:36Yeah, Jay Burch,
- 39:37when I'm with the age group athletes,
- 39:38we talk about the same aches and pains.
- 39:44David Reed,
- 39:45definition of hell is providing
- 39:46tech support for your parents.
- 39:48Amen, brother.
- 39:52my gosh my mom calls and she
- 39:55got signed out of something
- 39:57or she oh my frustrations
- 40:01grow so fast trying to
- 40:04explain to her and on
- 40:05FaceTime like I'm trying to
- 40:07get her to turn the camera
- 40:09so I can see what she's
- 40:10looking at so I know where
- 40:12she's at cuz she can't even
- 40:13describe to me like where it went wrong
- 40:18And then she,
- 40:19she's moving and shaking and trying to,
- 40:22and I can't, I'm ready to throw up.
- 40:24Cause I feel like I'm on a
- 40:25rollercoaster ride.
- 40:28Insane.
- 40:31I love her to death.
- 40:33I love her to death, but the tech stuff,
- 40:35holy cow.
- 40:38Just.
- 40:42FaceTiming the parent equals
- 40:44thumb over the camera.
- 40:45Well, my mom's FaceTime thing is,
- 40:48I don't know if I can do it.
- 40:49This would be FaceTiming my mom.
- 40:53It's always like this.
- 40:56I don't know why she is
- 40:58looking in a different direction,
- 41:00but all I can see is the top of her head.
- 41:10Ugh.
- 41:14They changed everything.
- 41:16It was just an update.
- 41:21David Reed, I think we are related.
- 41:30My son is like an old man.
- 41:31I give more tech support to
- 41:33him than he does me.
- 41:36I don't ever, ever want to...
- 41:41get to a point where I can't
- 41:43just get through some stuff on my own.
- 41:53iPhone seventeen has a
- 41:54center stage on the front
- 41:55camera now for our parents.
- 41:58You would think you would
- 42:00think but my mom has
- 42:04mastered the ability to
- 42:06duck the front the center stage.
- 42:11And then when it does
- 42:13activate on her and she's
- 42:15taking a drink and she does that,
- 42:20I get the close-up,
- 42:21like right in here of her taking a drink.
- 42:29Yeah, AstroServe,
- 42:30we have talked about that
- 42:31Kotler is going to be on
- 42:32Brian Friend's channel here in a bit.
- 42:39So...
- 42:44Anyway, with that, guys,
- 42:50coming up on the forty five minute mark,
- 42:53I'm going to try to do
- 42:53shows every day from
- 42:54Montana here and hopefully
- 42:57get caught up on some of
- 42:58the CrossFit stuff.
- 43:01Again, super happy for Justin Kotler.
- 43:08He sounded like we were
- 43:09texting back and forth this morning.
- 43:11This is exactly what he needs,
- 43:14and he's the perfect fit for them.
- 43:16And I think he's the perfect fit for them.
- 43:20They're the perfect fit for him.
- 43:22And it's going to go well.
- 43:26And I think he's going to be
- 43:27tremendously successful there.
- 43:31And I'll have him on soon.
- 43:35We can talk about all that stuff.
- 43:38But he said pretty much
- 43:40everything in the
- 43:41announcements on Instagram.
- 43:44And when I get Justin on,
- 43:45I like to just chat about
- 43:46different stuff.
- 43:47So anyway, with that, guys, Mark Phillips,
- 43:54so congrats on the Daughter Life event.
- 43:57Very exciting.
- 43:57It's really awesome.
- 44:03Kotler will also be on Pedro
- 44:05this afternoon.
- 44:11You're the most relaxed of
- 44:12the CrossFit podcast.
- 44:13Easy listening.
- 44:17Yeah,
- 44:18unless I get into like riff mode or
- 44:21something gets me all fired
- 44:22up or someone gets me all fired up.
- 44:29Watch for bears and moose.
- 44:32Yeah,
- 44:34when we were heading out to the
- 44:34mountains yesterday,
- 44:35there was a crossing sign
- 44:38for bighorn sheep yesterday.
- 44:40And then that's all my wife
- 44:41wanted to see were the bighorn sheep.
- 44:43So hopefully we see some before we leave.
- 44:45We did not see any yesterday,
- 44:49but that'd be fun.
- 44:54Trent Olive, glad to see you're doing well,
- 44:56Scott.
- 44:57Enjoy your family time.
- 44:58We're having a blast.
- 45:00All right, guys, with that,
- 45:07We will see you all tomorrow.
- 45:09Have a great day.
- 45:10And you knuckleheads get back to work.
- 45:13With that, we'll catch everybody tomorrow.
- 45:15Bye, guys.
