- 1:27Together, we can guide each other toward healing and truth, empowering one another
- 1:31to embrace the kind of love that God has designed for us. Hey sis!
- 1:37Today we're getting real about what God's kind of love looks like.
- 1:43The kind that draws you closer to Jesus, not further away.
- 1:48We're going to unpack seven spiritual signs that truly matter.
- 1:52Growing closer to Jesus together, accountability, attraction,
- 1:57values, community confirmation, and that unmistakable peace that comes when
- 2:03God's hand is truly on your relationship. So let's begin.
- 2:09Listen sis, I know firsthand what it's like not to pray before dating or marrying,
- 2:15to ignore discernment, and to end up stuck in that painful cycle of a broken heart.
- 2:21That's exactly why I want to help you discern these relationships better so
- 2:26you can recognize when it's a God-given connection and not your own fleshly desire.
- 2:32Because the truth is, the devil sends people too.
- 2:36Take it from me. After my first marriage, I was a complete mess.
- 2:40I genuinely cared for that man, but the truth is, he said he was a Christian
- 2:45while his life told a completely different story.
- 2:48There was no lasting fruit, no real spiritual growth.
- 2:52He was a man-child in every sense of the word, immature, selfish,
- 2:57and leading me further away from God instead of closer to Him.
- 3:02That's why it's so important to watch a person's character, not just their words,
- 3:07not the potential you hope they'll grow into, but who they really are at the core right now.
- 3:14I was so young and naive back then, and I fell in love with an idea,
- 3:19not the reality in front of me.
- 3:22And then came my second marriage. Oh, that one was such a ringer.
- 3:26This man was deep in the world, the kind of man that the Bible warns us about.
- 3:32You know when scripture says the love of money is the root of all evil?
- 3:36That was him to a T. He had everything money could buy, but was spiritually bankrupt.
- 3:42Honestly, he made the rich fool from the parable in the Bible look good.
- 3:48Both of those relationships taught me that discernment isn't optional. It's essential.
- 3:53Because not every man who says he knows God is walking with him.
- 3:57And not every blessing-looking thing is sent from heaven.
- 4:01Some are sent to distract, deceive, and destroy.
- 4:05Since the enemy is slick, he knows exactly what your broken heart craves.
- 4:10Attention, affection, validation.
- 4:12And if you're not grounded in your identity in Christ, He'll send you someone
- 4:17who looks like everything you've prayed for, but whose presence slowly pulls
- 4:21you away from your purpose.
- 4:23That's why prayer and patience are so important.
- 4:27You can't rush what God is still preparing. I learned that the hard way.
- 4:32Rushing into relationships without asking, Lord, is this man from you?
- 4:36I wanted love so badly that I tried to create it myself, and all I ended up
- 4:42with was heartbreak and confusion.
- 4:45Now, I've learned to pause, to pray, to test the fruit, because a God-sent man
- 4:53will never pull you away from your peace, your purpose, or your pursuit of Jesus.
- 4:58He'll protect it, he'll nourish it, and he'll lead you straight to the Father.
- 5:03So here are seven signs that the person you're dating might actually be the one.
- 5:09Not by the world's standards, but by God's. Number one.
- 5:14You're both growing closer to Jesus. This is the foundation.
- 5:19Are you both spiritually growing? Is this person helping you become more like Christ?
- 5:25Because the right relationship doesn't distract you from God.
- 5:28It draws you closer to Him.
- 5:31When my boyfriend and I first started dating, we decided from the beginning
- 5:34that Jesus would be at the center.
- 5:37So every week, we have Bible study together. We read scripture,
- 5:41talk about what God is teaching us, It's become one of the sweetest parts of our relationship.
- 5:48He draws me closer in the kindest, most gentle way, the kind of love that reflects Christ's heart.
- 5:55It makes me feel so deeply cherished because I can see how intentionally He
- 5:59guides me, in truth, in light, and in love.
- 6:03Our connection is something sacred, something beautifully rare.
- 6:07And to think, I waited 10 years for this, sis.
- 6:1110 years of healing, growing, and trusting that God would bring the right one at the right time.
- 6:17I'm so glad I waited because now I understand why the wait was worth it.
- 6:22And now we're building a solid foundation rooted in God.
- 6:25Because when you're both committed to spiritual growth, you're building something
- 6:29that can withstand anything and lasts a lifetime. Number two.
- 6:35You can talk about your struggles, even your sins.
- 6:39Let's be real. No one's perfect. But when you're with the one God has for you,
- 6:45you can talk openly about the things you're wrestling with.
- 6:49Can you talk to this person about your struggles?
- 6:52Can you confess and pray together, holding each other accountable in love?
- 6:57Because accountability is a powerful sign of spiritual maturity.
- 7:02And it's something that will strengthen your relationship, not
- 7:05tear it down number three jesus is
- 7:08at the center not on the side now
- 7:12you can enjoy each other you can have hobbies you can
- 7:15laugh you can travel all of that is beautiful but if jesus isn't at the center
- 7:19the relationship can easily draw drift off course if you find that your relationship
- 7:26doesn't naturally point back to god that's something to pause and pray about
- 7:31but if you can bring it up,
- 7:33and your partner responds with
- 7:35a willingness to grow and honor God with you, then that's a good sign.
- 7:39The relationship doesn't have to be perfect, but it should be moving in the right direction.
- 7:45Number four, you're both physically and emotionally attracted to one another.
- 7:50Yes, attraction matters.
- 7:52God gave us those desires for a reason. And let me tell you,
- 7:56when I met my guy, more on that later, the attraction between us was magnetic and still is.
- 8:01But what makes it even more beautiful is it's grounded in respect,
- 8:06purity, and friendship.
- 8:08He's literally my best friend. He's gentle, kind, self-controlled.
- 8:12And every day we draw closer to each other and to God.
- 8:16It feels like God saved the best for last.
- 8:18It's simple, it's peaceful, it's real.
- 8:22Number five, you share the same values. This is big.
- 8:26Do your lives align? I'm not talking about watching the same shows or liking
- 8:31the same foods. I mean the deeper stuff.
- 8:34Do you both think the same way about money, family, your future,
- 8:38faith, and purpose? Are you headed in the same direction?
- 8:42Because if one is chasing God's will and the other is chasing the world,
- 8:46there's going to be tension.
- 8:48Number six, the people who love you most affirm the relationship.
- 8:52Sometimes God uses community to confirm what he's already speaking in your heart.
- 8:57Do your friends, your pastor, and your parents affirm your relationship?
- 9:01Do the people who know and love you say, I see fruit in this. This feels right.
- 9:06When my family met my boyfriend, they said, he's so kind, he's genuine,
- 9:10and I could just sense God's peace in that moment.
- 9:14Because sometimes the people who love us most can see what we can't see.
- 9:19Number seven, you have peace about your future together.
- 9:23Now, listen, that doesn't mean you have it all figured out.
- 9:27But as you pray about your relationship, as you seek God about it, do you feel peace?
- 9:34Is your desire for this person growing in a healthy way? Because peace isn't
- 9:38loud or dramatic. It's study.
- 9:41It's that quiet knowing that God's hand is in it.
- 9:45So for your homework, sis, if you're listening right now and wondering,
- 9:50how do I know if this is the one, I want you to take a deep breath,
- 9:55get your journal, and I want you to ask yourself these seven questions.
- 9:59Write each question out and answer them so you can better discern the relationship you are in.
- 10:05Are we both growing in Christ?
- 10:08Can we be honest about our weaknesses? is? Is Jesus truly at the center?
- 10:14Are we physically and emotionally attracted to one another? Do we share the same values?
- 10:20Do the people who love me affirm this? Do I feel peace when I pray about it?
- 10:27All right, sis, if you can answer yes to those questions, there's a good chance
- 10:32this relationship is bearing the kind of fruit that lasts.
- 10:36So ladies, when God writes the love story, it's not rushed, it's not confusing,
- 10:42and it's not manipulative.
- 10:43It's covered in grace, truth, and peace.
- 10:46So don't you dare settle for less than God's best for you, because when God
- 10:51is in it, sis, you'll know it.
- 10:54Not because it's perfect, but because it's holy.
- 10:57If this episode encouraged you, make sure to share it with a friend who's in
- 11:01that season of wondering.
