- 0:05Speaker 1: Drama, darling. Drama, darling. Drama, darling. Hey, it's Drama Darling.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome back in.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Today is a New York City day. There's a Seder.
- 0:28Speaker 2: There's a gala. There's Martha Stewart. And there's touching stories.
- 0:32Speaker 2: What else do you want? So we're going to be
- 0:35Speaker 2: talking about that. We have a little bit of Dish.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Let's welcome in Deanna Chang. Deanna, hi.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Hello.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Hello.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Hey, darlings.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Guys, Deanna and I love this episode. We're loving New York,
- 0:51Speaker 2: and we cannot wait to discuss it. But before we do,
- 0:54Speaker 2: we need to get into a little dash of Dish.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Serving Dish. Just when you think that you've seen all
- 1:01Speaker 2: the premieres announcements for what's to come this fall into
- 1:04Speaker 2: the winter season, you know, they just keep spinning them out.
- 1:09Speaker 2: You know, I opened up Instagram this morning, Deanna, and
- 1:11Speaker 2: I saw a trailer for, are you ready for it?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Vanderpump Rules, Lisa Las Vegas, the two night special. It
- 1:22Speaker 2: starts October 20th. And I'm totally in. It's Lisa Vanderpump,
- 1:27Speaker 2: you know, building up her hotel. It's like basically, you know,
- 1:32Speaker 2: the designing, the pre-production of opening. And it's like, oh no,
- 1:38Speaker 2: the carpets have been lost at sea. What are we
- 1:40Speaker 2: going to do? Where's Nicolaine and my chandeliers? The statue
- 1:45Speaker 2: of Jiggy is gone. You know, all that stuff. I
- 1:48Speaker 2: cannot wait. And I love to see Lisa in this.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I've always wanted to see her in business mode, period, stop.
- 1:54Speaker 2: We see many moments with her opening all of her
- 1:58Speaker 2: restaurants and bars over the course of so many years.
- 2:00Speaker 2: And here we have a hotel. I mean, it's just
- 2:03Speaker 2: very exciting. It is.
- 2:06Speaker 4: And, you know, things have come, things have gone. The
- 2:09Speaker 4: industry is very difficult. It's amazing to keep at it,
- 2:12Speaker 4: you know, especially- She's not a, you know, young buck
- 2:17Speaker 4: and she's still in the game hard. And this does,
- 2:21Speaker 4: there's something about Vegas. I guess it's also like Vegas,
- 2:26Speaker 4: once you're in, you know, like these performers, these things,
- 2:33Speaker 4: and it doesn't seem like things.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Get moved out of Vegas. Like once you're in, you're in.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Take over a whole block.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Well, it's like, listen, that's where BravoCon is. I mean,
- 2:45Speaker 4: that is going to be, even that weekend alone is
- 2:48Speaker 4: just going.
- 2:48Speaker 2: To be insane. She could make her, you know, quota
- 2:52Speaker 2: just from that weekend for the year. Who knows?
- 2:55Speaker 4: Truly.
- 2:56Speaker 3: So this does feel smart. It's not her first.
- 3:00Speaker 4: She had that restaurant at the Paris where you stayed
- 3:03Speaker 4: for BravoCon and it looked great.
- 3:05Speaker 3: It looked fun.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Oh, it's great. It's great. It's fantastic. Food was amazing. Ambiance, wonderful. Great. Oh, yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So she knows what she's doing. And it's just to
- 3:19Speaker 2: see someone at that level that has been on The
- 3:22Speaker 2: Housewives is really phenomenal. And I'm happy to hear that
- 3:26Speaker 2: they're going to document this. And of course, she's a producer.
- 3:29Speaker 2: So I'm glad they're picking it up and they're doing it.
- 3:31Speaker 2: So it's nice.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Two nights. So two nights.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Two nights only.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I've never seen a hotel come together that I'm aware of.
- 3:39Speaker 3: And so that's fun.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Good point. Also, I don't know if you saw this,
- 3:44Speaker 2: but Hulu is, they've got a new show coming out,
- 3:49Speaker 2: The Swan Behind the Mirror. It was all over the
- 3:53Speaker 2: other day.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Wow. Believe you me, I'm ready. I watched something not
- 4:00Speaker 4: that long ago, a year or so ago, about, it
- 4:04Speaker 4: was some sort of documentary.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I think I know what you're talking about. Where we
- 4:08Speaker 3: were looking back, disgruntled.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Um, it was like a reality show in general
- 4:15Speaker 2: documentary where they hit on those shows.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 4: It's truly the worst we've had to offer in terms
- 4:22Speaker 4: of just being out of our minds as a society. Like,
- 4:28Speaker 4: I don't know, maybe we've done worse.
- 4:29Speaker 3: It just feels like psycho.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 3: You know?
- 4:33Speaker 2: And to think that like Terry Dubrow was involved in that,
- 4:36Speaker 2: you know?
- 4:38Speaker 3: I do.
- 4:39Speaker 4: In fact, he was just on a podcast. He was
- 4:43Speaker 4: on this Steph Tolev or Tolev's comedian.
- 4:47Speaker 3: So funny.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Why they were together, I don't know. But he was
- 4:51Speaker 4: talking about that. And he said, yeah, he was talking
- 4:55Speaker 4: about his time on The Swan. And he's like, what
- 4:57Speaker 4: I didn't realize, he said, you know, they were for
- 5:01Speaker 4: three months, these women, after they had done all the
- 5:04Speaker 4: surgery on them, they could not look in a mirror.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Not just a mirror. They didn't have any spoons, no
- 5:11Speaker 4: reflective surface.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Really?
- 5:15Speaker 3: I mean, so it's just so wild.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Oh, God. You know, I know. I know.
- 5:23Speaker 2: It's hard to like, I don't know, it's giving me
- 5:25Speaker 2: like the heebie-jeebie.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Who says it? It's very... Well, he's not.
- 5:29Speaker 2: A part of this documentary. He's not in it, understandably so.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I think that he would probably have a lot to
- 5:36Speaker 2: say about some of the things that they were willing
- 5:39Speaker 2: to do, what they wanted them to do. I'm sure
- 5:41Speaker 2: he had some pushback with them. You know, who knows?
- 5:45Speaker 3: No, I don't think so. I don't think so.
- 5:48Speaker 4: You have to remember, time is a strange thing, you know?
- 5:53Speaker 3: Like, when you're in the game... I don't know.
- 5:58Speaker 4: 20 years ago, things were different. Or however many years
- 6:01Speaker 4: ago it is. Like, I don't even think he had pushback.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Also, like, The Biggest Loser. That's something that we are
- 6:08Speaker 2: revisiting now as well through documentary series.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 3: And that seemed wonderful. You know, that felt, that seemed
- 6:18Speaker 3: like a walk in the park.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. So that'll be interesting.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Interested to watch that. It's streaming now, actually. So we're
- 6:29Speaker 2: going to have to get on that.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 2: This one threw me for a loop, Deanna. Mauricio Umansky
- 6:35Speaker 2: tells Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa that he's considering running
- 6:39Speaker 2: for mayor of Los Angeles. So if we could just not.
- 6:44Speaker 2: That's not your time and place. I don't think it's
- 6:47Speaker 2: the time. I don't think it's the place. And I'm
- 6:50Speaker 2: not here for it. Can we just stop having like
- 6:52Speaker 2: reality show people just at all, you know, like running
- 6:56Speaker 2: for anything? It's weird, you know, at this point. So
- 7:00Speaker 2: that's what's happening there. Yeah. I understand he's in real estate.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I understand that he does business and such. But look,
- 7:10Speaker 2: you know, these reality people, they know that they can
- 7:13Speaker 2: get some votes. So they're just like, why not throw
- 7:16Speaker 2: my hat into the ring? Yeah.
- 7:19Speaker 4: I mean, I think, you know, he's probably looking at,
- 7:24Speaker 4: what's his name?
- 7:26Speaker 2: Spencer Pratt.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Spencer Pratt and going like, okay, he did have a
- 7:30Speaker 4: lot of movement behind him. Like I'm a sanitized Spencer
- 7:36Speaker 4: Pratt with probably very similar ideals.
- 7:39Speaker 2: And more experience in, at least in terms of like,
- 7:42Speaker 2: you know, the business world.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Yeah. He's just not with the hummingbirds. So, you know.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Who knows? Yeah, who knows? We'll see there. He's a
- 7:51Speaker 2: registered independent. That is what party he is saying that
- 7:55Speaker 2: he is registered as.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Okay, bro.
- 8:19Speaker 2: But the two are just so diametrically opposed that it's
- 8:24Speaker 2: difficult to land in the middle and get and make
- 8:27Speaker 2: any headway. So I don't know how he would do
- 8:29Speaker 2: when the votes come in, but I digress. So why
- 8:33Speaker 2: don't we pop ourselves right in to New York?
- 8:37Speaker 3: Let's talk something nice.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Let's talk something nice.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Something nice.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Okay. I just want to like, we might as well
- 8:44Speaker 2: just like talk Martha Stewart right away. Cause you know,
- 8:46Speaker 2: that is my favorite part.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Of course.
- 8:47Speaker 2: We just got to get right into that. We have
- 8:49Speaker 2: a planning meeting with Daisy, Susan, and Martha.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Dying for Susan.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Suze. We love it. I've noticed something about you and me.
- 8:59Speaker 2: We love a woman named Susan. There's no Susan. So
- 9:03Speaker 2: any Susan who's listening, we love you. I just know
- 9:05Speaker 2: we're on your team.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Well, yeah, just add, just.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Point blank period you know no further investigation needed.
- 9:13Speaker 2: We love you and i love that martha can get
- 9:18Speaker 2: feisty we know that about her you know by the
- 9:20Speaker 2: by the time at the end with the fifa tickets
- 9:22Speaker 2: well you just don't go because you aren't included in
- 9:26Speaker 2: these perks all right that's enough of that all of
- 9:29Speaker 2: you shut up now we're done getting the check let's
- 9:31Speaker 2: go um she just you know she shuts it down
- 9:35Speaker 2: and also having an issue with daisy not being available
- 9:38Speaker 2: when she needs her Is interesting. And is that because
- 9:43Speaker 2: they're shooting the New York housewives? Because it's going to
- 9:46Speaker 2: become a problem for Martha.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I think this is Martha's light bulbs going off and
- 9:52Speaker 4: she's going, uh-oh, run, bro.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Now I'm wondering if this is why Martha's so forward-facing
- 9:59Speaker 2: on this show. Because she knows that in order to
- 10:01Speaker 2: get Daisy to do her makeup, when she wants her to,
- 10:05Speaker 2: she's got to be around. She's got to be on camera.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And I think that's great. Let's follow Daisy on her
- 10:12Speaker 2: trips with Martha. You know what?
- 10:16Speaker 3: It's a really good point, Amy.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you're right.
- 10:21Speaker 4: It's like, well, you can be on a reality show,
- 10:24Speaker 4: but that means that I'm on a reality show and
- 10:27Speaker 4: I'm dragging you around with me.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Right. You're on a reality show. I am.
- 10:34Speaker 3: We're all on it, but you're still going to do this. Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 2: That's great.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Was Susan her assistant?
- 10:45Speaker 2: I'm guessing or her PR or her. actual just she
- 10:51Speaker 2: does the scheduling period dot. I don't know.
- 10:53Speaker 4: I hope she's our assistant because it was giving me
- 10:57Speaker 4: Joan Rivers vibes with her. Like I like an elder
- 11:01Speaker 4: with an elder assistant. I like to see, you know,
- 11:05Speaker 4: you've been with rocking with the same assistant for the
- 11:08Speaker 4: last 30 years.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Like that is great.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It was. I agree. It puts some class on it
- 11:15Speaker 2: and you don't feel like you don't feel schmoozy or
- 11:19Speaker 2: like it's a business. You just feel like these are
- 11:21Speaker 2: some classy ladies getting together to see how they can
- 11:23Speaker 2: change the world and, you know, show up for themselves
- 11:25Speaker 2: and do what they need to do instead of like
- 11:28Speaker 2: some sort of young, you know, mover and shaker. Not
- 11:31Speaker 2: that there's anything wrong with that, but just in a
- 11:33Speaker 2: different situation, you know. Right. They're just being like, and Martha,
- 11:36Speaker 2: we have this at two and we've got that at five.
- 11:38Speaker 2: And so, Martha, we're going to need that, you know,
- 11:40Speaker 2: just that.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Just pulling out a planner and getting down to it,
- 11:44Speaker 4: you know, and that's what I like.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah, the written... Yeah, the written word.
- 11:50Speaker 3: It's good. And Daisy's like, oh, wow, we're busy.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 3: We're booked in October.
- 11:59Speaker 4: I mean, do we think that, I do believe that
- 12:01Speaker 4: Martha thought $ 11, 000 for camp was cheap.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I agree.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely.
- 12:07Speaker 3: 100%.
- 12:07Speaker 2: So crazy. She's not one of us or one of the,
- 12:11Speaker 2: I mean, even just Daisy's life, that seems like, To Martha,
- 12:17Speaker 2: there's no comparison with hers, but for us even, you know,
- 12:20Speaker 2: to compare it with Daisy, just the levels are crazy. Now,
- 12:25Speaker 2: speaking of, we did get a number, it sounds like,
- 12:27Speaker 2: on what Daisy pays for her apartment. Did we get 2,500?
- 12:31Speaker 2: Is that what we got? You and I? No, on
- 12:33Speaker 2: this episode. Well, you and I said 2,500. We said around,
- 12:36Speaker 2: we said 2,000-ish. She said 300, which I.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Don't think is the actual number. No, I think she
- 12:47Speaker 3: was joking.
- 12:48Speaker 2: But then, you know, maybe I'm getting it confused with,
- 12:51Speaker 2: is it Psy that pays $ 25, 000? Yes. Okay, that's what
- 12:55Speaker 2: I'm getting it confused on. That's a different number.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a different number.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Amenities! Amenities, you guys!
- 13:02Speaker 3: Amenities! I wrote down amenities. Yeah, $ 25, 000 for rent.
- 13:06Speaker 4: But listen, we did hear $ 300, 000, which obviously it's not $ 300, 000,
- 13:10Speaker 4: but actually.
- 13:11Speaker 2: But it's probably.
- 13:12Speaker 4: I thought maybe it is.
- 13:14Speaker 3: You thought.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Because remember when I was like, we paid like $ 900
- 13:21Speaker 2: when I was there. And that was for a one bedroom.
- 13:28Speaker 4: That sounds insane. What year are we talking?
- 13:32Speaker 2: Mid 90s.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Okay. Long time ago. Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 2: And that's probably when he got in there. Wait, no, no, no,
- 13:42Speaker 2: that wouldn't be. She said he's been there for 20 years.
- 13:45Speaker 2: So yeah, that's not quite. So, but so let's just
- 13:48Speaker 2: say I'm thinking 1500, 2000, 2000.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Let's call it 1500. I'm okay with calling it 1500
- 13:54Speaker 3: right now.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Is it a one bedroom? Or two? No, it's two. Okay.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Two bedroom.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:01Speaker 4: I mean, who, like, I remember a friend of my,
- 14:03Speaker 4: one of my best friend out of college was in
- 14:06Speaker 4: a really nice one bedroom and it was like 3000,
- 14:11Speaker 4: which seemed crazy to me.
- 14:12Speaker 3: At the time.
- 14:14Speaker 4: But it was like in an upscale neighborhood-ish.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Also, yeah, because she's in– isn't she in Battery Park?
- 14:20Speaker 3: I think that's actually– yeah.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I don't know, Amy. But we need some New York.
- 14:26Speaker 2: So that's like, you know, it's two different– Battery Park,
- 14:30Speaker 2: you're not going to get those Upper East Side prices. Right.
- 14:34Speaker 4: No, she's not paying much. She can knock out that
- 14:39Speaker 4: rent in– eyelashes on Martha.
- 14:43Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Like that, she's knocking it out,
- 14:47Speaker 3: just putting on the eyelashes.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Just reapplying some gloss on set and a little, you know,
- 14:52Speaker 2: mineral powder.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Sort of.
- 14:56Speaker 2: So we're picking up at this fricking Seder from hell.
- 15:00Speaker 2: And we have, can we just with the, I was like, wait,
- 15:07Speaker 2: is she vaping? Is she vaping? Is she just trying
- 15:11Speaker 2: to pretend that she's smoking pot so she can get
- 15:14Speaker 2: relaxed and she doesn't have any? But then she's like
- 15:17Speaker 2: doing boxer moves. She's like cracking her neck. And I'm like,
- 15:24Speaker 2: I love that Erin was like, you okay? What do
- 15:27Speaker 2: you got going on there? What do you got going
- 15:29Speaker 2: on there? Now, this may seem, I don't know what
- 15:33Speaker 2: the internet is saying. I'm not sure what our darlings
- 15:35Speaker 2: are saying. And I like not knowing that when I
- 15:38Speaker 2: come in with my takes. But I am so team
- 15:42Speaker 2: Erin on this. And I was absolutely fine that she said, well,
- 15:47Speaker 2: at least I didn't break up. At least I didn't
- 15:49Speaker 2: ruin the marriage of a man who has eight children.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I was fine with that. You want to know why?
- 15:54Speaker 2: Because she is talking about it. She has talked about it.
- 15:58Speaker 2: And what do you expect a housewife to do who
- 16:02Speaker 2: doesn't know you that well when you're coming in with
- 16:05Speaker 2: that parenthetical under your name when you literally came for
- 16:09Speaker 2: Erin and When there was no reason to, she did
- 16:12Speaker 2: nothing to you personally, and you insulted her for being boring,
- 16:16Speaker 2: and you're snickering literally in front of and behind her back.
- 16:19Speaker 2: So what do you expect her to do? I say,
- 16:22Speaker 2: the gloves are off. Erin did the right thing, and
- 16:25Speaker 2: I would have done the same. So there I'm at.
- 16:27Speaker 2: There's where I land. How about you?
- 16:29Speaker 3: I agree with you, Amy.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I think that everything you said, you know, it took
- 16:33Speaker 4: me until Erin showed the magazine tick tock of all the,
- 16:40Speaker 4: and I was like, okay, yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 3: You know, like, right, right.
- 16:45Speaker 4: And, and what you've called her strawberry jam. And that is,
- 16:49Speaker 4: it is so comical. It is so classic housewives that
- 16:53Speaker 4: this is even a, a runner.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Um, it's so ridiculous, but yeah, I think Aaron's never
- 17:03Speaker 4: been called boring in her life.
- 17:05Speaker 3: And, uh, She went for what was there.
- 17:09Speaker 2: She had to because like the only answer to that is, oh,
- 17:13Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I'm not this like you.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Right.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And so what does she have over there? That's what
- 17:19Speaker 2: it is. She's got.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 2: So for Hallie to be so shocked that she brought
- 17:26Speaker 2: this up, you think it was almost like She responded
- 17:31Speaker 2: like Aaron gave her a reading of someone from beyond.
- 17:35Speaker 2: She just gave her a message from someone from the afterlife.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Because that's how she responded. Like she couldn't take it in.
- 17:42Speaker 2: And I'm like, what are you talking about? You were
- 17:43Speaker 2: literally just talking about this on the paddle courts.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:46Speaker 4: We've heard it several times so far. You know, in
- 17:50Speaker 4: every episode.
- 17:51Speaker 2: It's going to be brought up. It has to be
- 17:52Speaker 2: brought up. It's going to be weaponized. You knew that
- 17:55Speaker 2: coming in. Of course it is. And you started it, babe.
- 17:57Speaker 4: So.
- 17:58Speaker 2: You know, what do you expect?
- 17:59Speaker 3: It is what it is.
- 18:00Speaker 2: And then, wait, so then this is what was pointed
- 18:03Speaker 2: out to me. Emily actually sent this clip to me.
- 18:06Speaker 2: She said, why does Psy have a different accent? Did
- 18:10Speaker 2: you catch that?
- 18:13Speaker 3: She was like, you stood up for yourself, okay? You
- 18:16Speaker 3: did what you got to do. You took a hit
- 18:20Speaker 3: and you came out and you stood up for yourself.
- 18:21Speaker 3: It's okay. That's what's going to go on, all right?
- 18:23Speaker 3: When we're sitting here over a Seder, that's what's going
- 18:25Speaker 3: to happen. That's what you got to do. All right.
- 18:31Speaker 3: That was so crazy.
- 18:33Speaker 2: What happens to these women when they go to Brooklyn?
- 18:35Speaker 2: Or where were they? I don't even know where they are.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I can't remember. Deep in Brooklyn.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Yeah, deep in Brooklyn.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Yes.
- 18:41Speaker 2: They're taken aback. They become different people in this house.
- 18:44Speaker 2: You know, it turns into what feels like a play,
- 18:47Speaker 2: like a one-act play. It's like David Mamet, you know,
- 18:52Speaker 2: all of a sudden people are starting to respond in
- 18:55Speaker 2: these Poetic ways, you know.
- 18:57Speaker 3: To the environment. Yeah. Totally. It was definitely the environment
- 19:03Speaker 3: for Cy.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Totally.
- 19:05Speaker 2: And then when we saw Cy with her aunt and
- 19:07Speaker 2: the way her aunt talks, I was like, oh, that checks. Because, yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 2: You know, you stood up for yourself. This is what
- 19:15Speaker 2: you need to do. Come over into my meat locker.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Come on. Hold on. Let me send this kid off
- 19:20Speaker 2: with $ 20 to go get me some secrets from the
- 19:23Speaker 2: other side of the mafia.
- 19:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I mean, it was like such a wild thing. It
- 19:27Speaker 2: was so fun.
- 19:28Speaker 3: It was just, it popped out, you know.
- 19:31Speaker 2: It popped on a sidewalk. It's funny.
- 19:34Speaker 3: She was giving, like, it's also Rosie Perez.
- 19:37Speaker 4: And I was just saying to my nephews, like, my
- 19:41Speaker 4: nephew is now, he's a tween, right?
- 19:44Speaker 3: He's 12.
- 19:45Speaker 4: And what I've noticed is he's no longer opening his
- 19:48Speaker 4: mouth to speak, okay?
- 19:49Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I'm like, you know, he's talking, he's like this.
- 19:53Speaker 4: I'm like, that's like, I'm talking like Rosie Perez. She
- 19:56Speaker 4: doesn't really open her mouth that much. She just says
- 19:59Speaker 4: what she has to say, but she's not really opening
- 20:01Speaker 4: her mouth.
- 20:01Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? Like, I feel like.
- 20:04Speaker 2: That's what's happening. Yes.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yes.
- 20:08Speaker 2: And it's a good thing she was mic'd up because
- 20:11Speaker 2: we wouldn't have caught it a long ways away.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Yeah, we needed it really bad.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Really, really bad. It was so funny. It was so good.
- 20:20Speaker 2: It was great. And then Hallie, I'm sorry, Haley, she
- 20:25Speaker 2: really popped off and she's like, you don't know. You
- 20:28Speaker 2: don't know. You're a snake and I'm a mongoose. And
- 20:31Speaker 2: if I were to see that line or see that scene,
- 20:36Speaker 2: I'd be like, oh, this is classic Housewives. She delivered
- 20:41Speaker 2: that really well. And she's really new. So I was
- 20:44Speaker 2: pretty impressed that she was able to deliver that without
- 20:48Speaker 2: the feeling of too much rehearsal. But she had that
- 20:52Speaker 2: in her back pocket. I mean, she had to have.
- 20:56Speaker 4: See, so we have seen that mongoose line in the trailer.
- 20:59Speaker 4: And we're on the same boat because.
- 21:06Speaker 4: I was thinking, oh, Mongoose is a lot earlier in
- 21:10Speaker 4: the season than I anticipated.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Right, right. I thought Mongoose would be, I was.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Like, oh, Mongoose is here. Like I felt Mongoose was
- 21:18Speaker 4: going to be like, to your point.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Yeah, down the road.
- 21:23Speaker 4: A piece because she is so new. So I think
- 21:27Speaker 4: because she's.
- 21:28Speaker 3: In a.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Literal marijuana haze at all times. that the mongoose is
- 21:37Speaker 4: real for her. Like, I think she got that out clean,
- 21:39Speaker 4: but I think that's also who she is.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 4: And I think that just, you know, it has to
- 21:45Speaker 4: cut through.
- 21:46Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Like, we got to get
- 21:50Speaker 3: in it.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Yeah. And to see that she had to really prepare
- 21:53Speaker 2: for that with the heavy breathing. Yeah. That was something else. Like,
- 21:59Speaker 2: we've never seen that before. No. No.
- 22:02Speaker 4: It's almost like Alex with the hives, you know?
- 22:05Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Similar.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Yeah. And Erin's right. She just was like, you came
- 22:14Speaker 2: for me. You came for me. It's true.
- 22:18Speaker 3: It is true.
- 22:20Speaker 2: But it was wild how absolutely explosive that became so
- 22:24Speaker 2: quickly at that table.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I don't think, yeah, she wasn't ready for that.
- 22:29Speaker 4: You know, I think that's what we were witnessing is
- 22:32Speaker 4: like she's not at a cedar, you know, not that
- 22:36Speaker 4: deep into Brooklyn. She just wasn't prepared to have the
- 22:42Speaker 4: jam comment repeat on her so quickly.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yeah. And she was like, I quit. I quit. I quit.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Oh, my God. She was demiking.
- 22:53Speaker 2: To quit over something that you brought to the table.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Just at pickleball last week. It's like insane to me.
- 23:03Speaker 2: And yet it didn't see it fully believe that I
- 23:06Speaker 2: fully believe that she believed it. That's the other thing
- 23:09Speaker 2: that I why I was OK with it.
- 23:12Speaker 4: And so I came with like she was like a
- 23:15Speaker 4: wrestling coach on the side.
- 23:17Speaker 3: She was like squirting water.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Come on.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Listen.
- 23:22Speaker 4: I believed every second of it. I didn't– not for
- 23:26Speaker 4: one second did I think she's putting it on. I
- 23:29Speaker 4: think that Haley is very disconnected from a lot in herself,
- 23:38Speaker 4: you know. And so the reaction times are just different.
- 23:45Speaker 3: They're just different.
- 23:47Speaker 4: And hearing it– And Erin said it in the worst
- 23:53Speaker 4: way possible. Mm-hmm. She didn't just say, like, you were
- 23:57Speaker 4: with John from K plus 8. She was like, you
- 23:59Speaker 4: broke up a marriage with H. You know, I mean,
- 24:02Speaker 4: she said it.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Well, she ripped it from the headlines because it was
- 24:05Speaker 2: easy to find because Haley keeps posting them. So that
- 24:09Speaker 2: was perfect. Oh, my God.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Help me. It's so silly.
- 24:12Speaker 2: I was actually impressed that they made up at the gala,
- 24:16Speaker 2: at Carol's gala. I was honestly shocked. It was really
- 24:19Speaker 2: perfect with Carol just being like, shh. Shut your mouth
- 24:22Speaker 2: and lift up your paddles. And they just wouldn't. But
- 24:25Speaker 2: I'm glad. It sounds like and looks like they're back
- 24:28Speaker 2: to one. And I'm happy about that. Because that's what
- 24:30Speaker 2: we want. That's what we want. Yeah.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Agree.
- 24:37Speaker 2: So, you know, we had some confrontations this episode. Of course,
- 24:43Speaker 2: we had Aaron, you know, confronting on the jam. And
- 24:46Speaker 2: now we have Carol and Jessel. And this was... just
- 24:51Speaker 2: a classy way to just shut someone down, you know,
- 24:57Speaker 2: for her to end this, to be like, don't you
- 25:01Speaker 2: ever talk about the Kennedy curse again, or I'll, I'll
- 25:04Speaker 2: introduce you to a couple of my friends out back.
- 25:07Speaker 2: I mean, this was like, this Seder brought out this
- 25:11Speaker 2: mom mentality.
- 25:13Speaker 3: It did. It did. It did.
- 25:16Speaker 2: It was great.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I mean, you can't tell somebody who has experienced the
- 25:22Speaker 4: curse firsthand to the point where she had to unload
- 25:28Speaker 4: a Cartier.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Watch that it's, you know.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Yes.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Let me tell you something, Amy.
- 25:36Speaker 2: The Cartier watch, yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 4: I don't think, I don't think Jessel knows how they died.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I'm going to say that. She doesn't. I agree with you.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 25:44Speaker 2: And when Carol said, did you finish Love Story? And
- 25:48Speaker 2: she's like, not yet. Bitch, you don't know nothing. Don't. Bitch,
- 25:52Speaker 2: you don't know nothing. Don't ruin it.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Don't ruin it for me. It is the craziest. I can't.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I can't. This is like, it's almost insulting. I can't
- 26:02Speaker 2: believe they actually put Carol in that situation with this woman.
- 26:06Speaker 2: But I don't think they would have even known.
- 26:08Speaker 3: How could you?
- 26:09Speaker 2: How unbelievably ignorant this gal is. And by calling her
- 26:13Speaker 2: a dingbat, she's right. That is the nicest thing you
- 26:16Speaker 2: could actually call her in this situation.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 26:20Speaker 4: No, and Carol needed to stand up for herself because,
- 26:25Speaker 4: and as she's having the conversation with her, she's seeing
- 26:29Speaker 4: that nothing is penetrating.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 26:32Speaker 4: It's literally talking to a brick wall. It's worse than Teresa.
- 26:37Speaker 4: You know how you can try to talk to Teresa
- 26:39Speaker 4: and it's like hard?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's innocent hard in many ways. Whereas Jessel
- 26:44Speaker 2: is just mean ignorant. She's rude ignorant.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Yeah. It's like she didn't want to hear it. She's
- 26:52Speaker 3: thinking about how to make comebacks.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah. She's like, well, I just wanted you to know
- 26:56Speaker 2: you look chic. It's like, bitch, no.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Shut the fuck up.
- 27:02Speaker 2: And she continues to At insult to injury as she
- 27:06Speaker 2: tries to double down on that and then continues to say, well,
- 27:10Speaker 2: you just looked like that.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Shut up.
- 27:14Speaker 2: I cannot believe how much I dislike Jessel this year. Like,
- 27:18Speaker 2: I didn't realize what an asshole was buried under there
- 27:21Speaker 2: for the last couple of years. I just didn't know
- 27:24Speaker 2: the depth.
- 27:26Speaker 3: We didn't know. Mm-mm.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Mm-mm. So I'm glad that Carol put her in her
- 27:30Speaker 2: place for that.
- 27:31Speaker 4: She tried to. I don't think she did because it
- 27:35Speaker 4: didn't penetrate. She put her in her place for us,
- 27:40Speaker 4: but Jessel didn't get put anywhere because she didn't receive it.
- 27:44Speaker 4: She couldn't receive it. Like it bounced off. She doesn't understand.
- 27:49Speaker 2: No. At least Carol was able to say, don't bring
- 27:52Speaker 2: this up anymore, which hopefully she won't.
- 27:54Speaker 3: That was clear.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that was very clear. The popcorn ceiling gate is
- 28:01Speaker 2: like nuts. And also, you know, we already kind of
- 28:07Speaker 2: talked about the rent control situation, but if the popcorn
- 28:11Speaker 2: ceiling represents financial freedom, then just back off. Back off.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely.
- 28:19Speaker 4: I mean, the popcorn ceiling allows Daisy to buy those
- 28:24Speaker 4: leather jackets at, The Poshmark retail.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Shop, you know?
- 28:29Speaker 4: I mean, it's just, she's allowed to do a lot
- 28:32Speaker 4: with those popcorn ceilings.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:34Speaker 4: And she's thrilled. I mean, it is the kind of thing,
- 28:38Speaker 4: I'm like, what is this reminding me of? It's basically
- 28:41Speaker 4: what NeNe did to the white fridge.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yes, yeah.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Daisy is doing, and Daisy did it to herself. She's
- 28:49Speaker 4: the one who alerted us to the popcorn ceiling, and
- 28:51Speaker 4: I think production told her. jessel because i don't even
- 28:55Speaker 4: think jessel knows what a popcorn ceiling is to be
- 28:58Speaker 4: honest with you she wouldn't have even looked up she
- 29:00Speaker 4: would never have looked up you know so i mean
- 29:05Speaker 4: but popcorn ceilings are now on high alert and like
- 29:10Speaker 4: i know people are looking to sand them bitches down
- 29:13Speaker 4: after this.
- 29:14Speaker 2: And also that is a good point i will say
- 29:16Speaker 2: from the other side of the table why don't you
- 29:18Speaker 2: scrape it off? I mean, you've been in there long enough.
- 29:20Speaker 2: You can scrape it off. Like, I mean, or get
- 29:23Speaker 2: someone to do it. It would be a fairly easy
- 29:27Speaker 2: investment in that ceiling. So, and put in some, you know, light,
- 29:33Speaker 2: some lighting.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Some light.
- 29:35Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know that I, have you been aware
- 29:38Speaker 4: of popcorn ceilings in your life?
- 29:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah. Cause I've lived in.
- 29:41Speaker 3: You do.
- 29:43Speaker 2: My first apartment in LA had popcorn ceilings.
- 29:46Speaker 4: No, I know mine have. I just can't even remember
- 29:49Speaker 4: which ones. Like, so I don't know that I knew
- 29:53Speaker 4: to think poorly of a popcorn ceiling is what I'm saying.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Oh, I mean back then or now?
- 30:00Speaker 3: Almost ever.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Like, I don't know that, I don't know if I've
- 30:02Speaker 4: been confronted recently with a popcorn ceiling, but I know
- 30:08Speaker 4: I had them because I have a sense of memory
- 30:10Speaker 4: around it when she brought it up.
- 30:12Speaker 2: It was brought up on another show many years ago,
- 30:15Speaker 2: maybe even Vanderpump Rules, because Vanderpump Rules is kind of
- 30:19Speaker 2: like the poster child for popcorn ceilings. And I think
- 30:22Speaker 2: they know that. And I think they're the ones who
- 30:23Speaker 2: sort of put it on the map as far as,
- 30:25Speaker 2: or we put it on the you know, poor kids
- 30:31Speaker 2: in L.A. struggling with popcorn ceilings. You want to watch
- 30:34Speaker 2: Vanderpump Rules. And those were the days. So that's where
- 30:37Speaker 2: I think I may have first been alerted to that.
- 30:39Speaker 2: And at that point, I don't know if I was
- 30:42Speaker 2: living in a place with popcorn ceilings anymore anyway. But
- 30:46Speaker 2: it certainly was like, oh, I guess they're not very
- 30:49Speaker 2: nice looking, I suppose.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Right.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Well, I just went to a friend of mine's house,
- 30:54Speaker 4: and it's a gorgeous house.
- 30:56Speaker 3: He just said, as a designer, redo it. He had
- 30:59Speaker 3: a white fridge and I just, I sat with it.
- 31:01Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 31:01Speaker 4: Because Mimi has done such a number on us that
- 31:04Speaker 4: I was like.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Is it new? Like, are they coming back?
- 31:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 31:09Speaker 4: I just was like, well, there goes a white fridge,
- 31:12Speaker 4: you know? I mean, in a beautiful home.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Wow. I don't know.
- 31:17Speaker 4: Like, it's all I can. I'm just presenting the information
- 31:19Speaker 4: to you.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Well, did it look weird? No.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Well, it just looked like a white fridge, you know?
- 31:26Speaker 2: Was it a high-end white fridge?
- 31:28Speaker 3: I have no clue. That much I couldn't tell you.
- 31:31Speaker 2: You would be able to tell.
- 31:33Speaker 4: But I didn't spend that kind of time with it,
- 31:35Speaker 4: you know? I just was like, white fridge, and moved on.
- 31:39Speaker 4: I didn't get into the nitty-gritty.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I mean, was there or was there not, like, ice
- 31:43Speaker 2: and water on the outside? That's all I want to know.
- 31:46Speaker 3: I don't think there was, no. It was flat.
- 31:48Speaker 2: So then it probably, well, then maybe that was on
- 31:50Speaker 2: the inside. By the way, those ice makers and water.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Nothing but trouble.
- 31:56Speaker 2: No, thank you. Nothing but trouble. Now, our ice is working.
- 32:00Speaker 2: But guess what? The little, you know, push down panel
- 32:03Speaker 2: for the water, that thing flipped off over the weekend.
- 32:07Speaker 2: It's gone. We don't know how to put it back on.
- 32:10Speaker 2: And I'm like, you've got to be kidding. We can't
- 32:12Speaker 2: just shove it back in there. And Brett's like, honestly,
- 32:14Speaker 2: I actually think this is a bigger job. I'm like,
- 32:16Speaker 2: of course it is. The thing is even broken and
- 32:19Speaker 2: we can't even get it to go on there.
- 32:21Speaker 4: No, I mean, listen, if you want to do what's right,
- 32:27Speaker 4: we just had to get a new fridge. I had
- 32:29Speaker 4: a fridge where you could knock on the panel. It
- 32:33Speaker 4: was a drink panel in the front. Knock, knock, it
- 32:36Speaker 4: lit up. You open the little drink door. I loved
- 32:39Speaker 4: that so much.
- 32:40Speaker 3: We were foolish. Now, listen, it was a piece of garbage,
- 32:45Speaker 3: a piece of crap.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:48Speaker 2: What? What'd you get out of it? Six months?
- 32:51Speaker 4: No, I mean, we got a few years, but that
- 32:53Speaker 4: should be not without problems.
- 32:55Speaker 3: I mean, we got a few years out of it
- 32:57Speaker 3: with a lot of problems.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 4: You know, but here's the thing is like they said,
- 33:04Speaker 4: I go, it's like good luck. The only fridge that
- 33:09Speaker 4: is anything really are those sub-zero fridges. Those are going
- 33:15Speaker 4: to last you 20 years and they're going to cost
- 33:18Speaker 4: you $ 20, 000.
- 33:19Speaker 3: So if you're in the mood for that, that's a
- 33:22Speaker 3: great investment.
- 33:22Speaker 4: And there's like, then you have to do the fridge
- 33:25Speaker 4: with no ice and no water.
- 33:28Speaker 3: But guess what?
- 33:28Speaker 2: I don't want that.
- 33:30Speaker 3: You know, so we did.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Get a Frigidaire with the ability to get ice and
- 33:36Speaker 4: water on the outside, but it's not smart.
- 33:42Speaker 2: But it was like, it's like, there's a payoff, you know,
- 33:51Speaker 2: you're going to pay some way or the other because
- 33:53Speaker 2: in a few years, you're just not going to have
- 33:54Speaker 2: ice or you're not going to have water. And then
- 33:56Speaker 2: you're going to have to invest in an ice machine
- 33:58Speaker 2: and then drink tap water or get a water cooler.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Who has room for a water cooler? I don't. I do.
- 34:08Speaker 4: Like we have so many issues, but I do like
- 34:11Speaker 4: in life, in this world, it's not, you know, but
- 34:14Speaker 4: I want someone to come in. It's like my parents,
- 34:18Speaker 4: the house I grew up in, We had one fridge
- 34:20Speaker 4: the entire 40 years. Entire 40 years, one fridge. My grandparents,
- 34:25Speaker 4: one fridge.
- 34:26Speaker 3: A Frigidaire.
- 34:27Speaker 4: That's why we got a Frigidaire because my parents and
- 34:29Speaker 4: my grandmother had a Frigidaire. I was like, at least
- 34:31Speaker 4: I have that.
- 34:32Speaker 2: That's right.
- 34:33Speaker 3: But, you know, one, it never caused a problem. But
- 34:39Speaker 3: guess what? It didn't have those extra things.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Bells and whistles.
- 34:44Speaker 3: We're off topic.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Which causes leaks. Now all of a sudden you've got
- 34:48Speaker 2: a flood on the ground and you're like, where did
- 34:50Speaker 2: that come from? Oh, the ice has created an entire
- 34:54Speaker 2: glacier in there. Now we've got to turn off the fridge,
- 34:58Speaker 2: let it defrost. And yeah, is my fridge affecting global warming?
- 35:05Speaker 2: I think it is.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Probably. I think it is.
- 35:08Speaker 2: All right. So anyway, popcorn ceilings. Let's move on. Erica
- 35:12Speaker 2: is like, come to my private island. Okay.
- 35:17Speaker 4: Can we just say one last thing about the Seder, Amy,
- 35:19Speaker 4: for the, I know we've.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. I really, I ran out of Brooklyn.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I ran out.
- 35:24Speaker 4: Listen, I just want to say this about the last
- 35:26Speaker 4: thing about the Seder is that I did like and
- 35:29Speaker 4: found it interesting between Cy and Daisy and Daisy's clearly like,
- 35:35Speaker 4: you know, being like, you don't know where your life
- 35:38Speaker 4: is right now. Does it make sense to spend $ 25, 000
- 35:40Speaker 4: on an apartment?
- 35:41Speaker 3: Great question.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:45Speaker 3: And then, I mean, could we run some numbers on
- 35:48Speaker 3: what that is a year? I don't do math.
- 35:50Speaker 4: But then, and then, and then Cy is like, you
- 35:55Speaker 4: do have a problem with your popcorn ceiling. Like, please
- 35:57Speaker 4: know that.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 35:59Speaker 2: You do. It hurt you.
- 36:01Speaker 3: So that was going on between them.
- 36:06Speaker 4: And you could tell, like, I think Daisy's probably always
- 36:09Speaker 4: in Cy's ear about, like, do you really want to
- 36:11Speaker 4: be spending this much on an apartment right now?
- 36:13Speaker 2: That's 300 on rent. That's 300K a year, which isn't
- 36:18Speaker 2: as much as I actually thought. So let's say she's
- 36:20Speaker 2: bringing in a million. Okay. So that's a, I mean,
- 36:24Speaker 2: look at.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:26Speaker 2: It's not that bad. She still has 700K to live
- 36:29Speaker 2: off of. She's fine. She's okay.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:33Speaker 2: But she's making it pretty close. You can't live like
- 36:36Speaker 2: that for a long time. That's for sure. If you
- 36:39Speaker 2: stay at that level.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Listen, I think she does really well. I actually think
- 36:42Speaker 4: she does really. I think she's at the top of
- 36:44Speaker 4: an influencer game. I think she makes a ton of money.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Wow.
- 36:47Speaker 2: I do.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 2: She got in on the ground floor and that's the
- 36:50Speaker 2: key to everything. So when her husband, like if we
- 36:54Speaker 2: can just talk about Sally for a second.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:58Speaker 2: That scene with her aunt, first of all, oh, my God. Well,
- 37:04Speaker 2: her husband taking her out for her birthday and paying
- 37:06Speaker 2: for it on her credit card. You know, this is tough.
- 37:10Speaker 2: This is tough. And so it's obviously about money. And
- 37:15Speaker 2: so she's done. She's done. Now, her mom. This was
- 37:23Speaker 2: a really devastating story to hear. And this was the
- 37:28Speaker 2: first time that her aunt heard it, too, that when
- 37:30Speaker 2: they came back from being out of town and her
- 37:32Speaker 2: mom was staying there, what happened? And, you know, you
- 37:35Speaker 2: really do... You understand, like you can see it as
- 37:39Speaker 2: she describes it. And you really are face to face
- 37:42Speaker 2: with the epitome of mental illness and addiction, you know,
- 37:46Speaker 2: coupled with addiction. And it's just it's a battle that
- 37:50Speaker 2: you just don't have the weapons for. And you can
- 37:52Speaker 2: do everything that you think you can possibly do. And
- 37:55Speaker 2: it's just not going to be enough. And I really
- 37:57Speaker 2: felt for her because of that. She says she feels
- 38:00Speaker 2: so guilty. And it's just not her fault and it's
- 38:03Speaker 2: not her burden to bear. And it's so hurtful and
- 38:09Speaker 2: shocking that her mom had to go to a shelter
- 38:12Speaker 2: and then she passed away three months later. It's shocking.
- 38:15Speaker 2: It's crazy. I would be just devastated to have to
- 38:22Speaker 2: live like that after that happened. But It's too much.
- 38:27Speaker 2: She couldn't have done anything. She couldn't keep her at
- 38:29Speaker 2: her house around her children. She couldn't do that.
- 38:32Speaker 3: No.
- 38:33Speaker 4: And I think that like only people who've really been
- 38:35Speaker 4: through addiction and mental, like understand it's so hard to
- 38:44Speaker 4: get your head around that, you know? And I think
- 38:48Speaker 4: like cutting your loved ones off who are in that
- 38:52Speaker 4: state does seem like is the only way for progress
- 38:56Speaker 4: most of the time, which is so counterintuitive and difficult.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Yeah, to our instincts, yeah. Right.
- 39:05Speaker 3: It doesn't always work out. It didn't work out, you know,
- 39:08Speaker 3: but it's devastating.
- 39:10Speaker 2: And when you're older, you know, I mean, it's such,
- 39:13Speaker 2: to make different choices when you're that age, it's next
- 39:18Speaker 2: to impossible, you know? Absolutely.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Her aunt was so loving and like, so I'm so
- 39:26Speaker 4: happy she had that conversation. but also, you know, I,
- 39:31Speaker 4: I had, I did wonder, I didn't know much about
- 39:34Speaker 4: them as a couple, Cy and her husband. We didn't
- 39:37Speaker 4: see them interact very often, but I felt good about them.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 4: I did wonder because she seems so shut down emotionally.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:49Speaker 3: How he dealt with that.
- 39:50Speaker 4: Or, like, do you know what I mean? I just
- 39:51Speaker 4: wondered how that worked within their dynamic, like, first season.
- 39:56Speaker 4: When Psy was really sort of, like, she was shut down,
- 40:01Speaker 4: you know?
- 40:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:04Speaker 4: But it was really interesting to hear that they weren't
- 40:07Speaker 4: even able to have a conversation about her mom or
- 40:11Speaker 4: how she was doing or any of it. And I
- 40:14Speaker 4: believe her when she says they didn't have a conversation.
- 40:16Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Which is just like, whoa, you know, you're so alone
- 40:22Speaker 4: in the marriage, you know, either both of you are
- 40:25Speaker 4: or you are.
- 40:27Speaker 3: I don't know what his deal is, you know, but.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that was like to not even acknowledge that that happened.
- 40:35Speaker 2: And how are you doing after this episode and this incident?
- 40:39Speaker 4: Even should we have done that, which is at least
- 40:41Speaker 4: conversation around it, you know, sensitivity, awareness, like.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that was really sad. That was really sad.
- 40:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Huge that she shared that with us. I know she
- 40:53Speaker 2: shared in the past, but that was a really big
- 40:55Speaker 2: emotional scene that I think we'll all remember. And I
- 40:59Speaker 2: think also stuff like this can be so relatable and
- 41:03Speaker 2: helpful to people watching because we have so many friends
- 41:06Speaker 2: and family members who are touched with mental illness and addiction.
- 41:10Speaker 2: It's just rampant. It's rampant.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:14Speaker 2: And you feel so helpless.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:18Speaker 2: And then we have Haley and her mom birdwatching. And
- 41:22Speaker 2: then you get into another situation with her mom and
- 41:26Speaker 2: the intricacies of that and how, like, they haven't really
- 41:29Speaker 2: talked about how her mom basically pushed her into being
- 41:34Speaker 2: with John Gosselin. And, you know, I got a really
- 41:36Speaker 2: interesting message from one of the darlings that said that
- 41:40Speaker 2: they believe that her mom knew she was gay or
- 41:44Speaker 2: bi or whatever. And that she was like trying to
- 41:47Speaker 2: save face and like pushing her into that to keep.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:51Speaker 2: That blew my mind. I was like, I didn't even
- 41:53Speaker 2: consider that.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Wow.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Doesn't that blow your mind? I mean, because then after that,
- 41:59Speaker 2: her mom's like, make me proud, you know, go be
- 42:01Speaker 2: with this guy. Yeah. So like the pressure that her
- 42:04Speaker 2: mom put on her for. Totally.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:09Speaker 2: And I just really feel for her.
- 42:11Speaker 3: It does.
- 42:12Speaker 4: That makes more sense. Even still, it's weird. the wildest choice,
- 42:17Speaker 4: but she was just probably like trying to get her
- 42:20Speaker 4: with a man any which way.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Yes, exactly.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Depressing. Her mother's a piece of work.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, and it shows like how people just
- 42:34Speaker 2: sort of, no matter how poorly your parents or your
- 42:37Speaker 2: loved ones treat you or the decisions they made on
- 42:39Speaker 2: your life that affected you, uh, That she like goes
- 42:43Speaker 2: birdwatching with her. She talks with her on the phone
- 42:45Speaker 2: every day. They laugh. Isn't that an interesting dynamic? Like,
- 42:50Speaker 2: I guess she just really needs and wants her in
- 42:53Speaker 2: her life despite, you know, what has happened and has
- 42:57Speaker 2: maybe found a way to forgive her in that way,
- 43:00Speaker 2: I guess.
- 43:01Speaker 4: It takes so much, you know, to cut someone off
- 43:05Speaker 4: and she is in that category. You know, just the
- 43:07Speaker 4: way she was.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Saying, we went through, I went through, like.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Oh my God, the mom made it about her.
- 43:14Speaker 3: A hundred percent. She did not check.
- 43:17Speaker 4: I mean, it is what it, you know, it's, it's
- 43:19Speaker 4: an impossible character. And I think it is, would probably
- 43:27Speaker 4: be suggested by a therapist to have no contact.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:31Speaker 3: That's very difficult.
- 43:33Speaker 4: It is.
- 43:34Speaker 2: I mean, a lot of therapists would say, you know,
- 43:38Speaker 2: I mean, Dr. Laura says like your family is, it's not,
- 43:42Speaker 2: you don't have to choose them. They're abusing you in
- 43:46Speaker 2: any way. I mean, it's like, and some people make
- 43:50Speaker 2: different decisions and, and this is a perfect example of
- 43:54Speaker 2: like not cutting her off and being, I don't know
- 43:59Speaker 2: if you want to say a bigger person, cause I
- 44:00Speaker 2: don't know if it's codependency or if it's whatever it is,
- 44:02Speaker 2: but at least.
- 44:04Speaker 3: It's being, yeah.
- 44:05Speaker 4: I think she probably doesn't have the tools to do
- 44:08Speaker 4: that yet, you know? And her mom's fun. Her mom
- 44:12Speaker 4: is like, there's things she's getting from her.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Yeah. And when you are older, when your parents get older,
- 44:20Speaker 2: you know, you get forgiveness in spades. It just, it
- 44:23Speaker 2: just comes showering down on you because you see the age,
- 44:28Speaker 2: you see how they did the best they could with
- 44:31Speaker 2: what they were dealt with, the cards they were dealt
- 44:33Speaker 2: with in life. And then you have a new perspective.
- 44:35Speaker 2: So perhaps she has already worked through everything, you know,
- 44:41Speaker 2: and I, And then that's great. Maybe.
- 44:44Speaker 3: We'll see. More will be revealed.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Well, her response about how it wasn't her fault at
- 44:50Speaker 2: 22 and she doesn't know the story, that it was
- 44:53Speaker 2: that charged tells me that she hasn't really. Because honestly,
- 44:58Speaker 2: that could have been a conversation where she could have
- 45:01Speaker 2: been like, all right, that's a low blow. But like,
- 45:05Speaker 2: I've dealt with that. There's, you know, I have a
- 45:08Speaker 2: side to my story and maybe we can talk about
- 45:10Speaker 2: that sometime. But she really hit, she went zero to
- 45:14Speaker 2: 100 and quit.
- 45:16Speaker 3: It was like it happened six months ago. Yeah.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Her reaction. Yes. So I guess I take that back.
- 45:22Speaker 2: She hasn't, maybe she doesn't work through that. Maybe she's
- 45:25Speaker 2: worked through maybe her mom's stuff, but somehow the connective
- 45:29Speaker 2: tissue didn't work its way over to that.
- 45:31Speaker 4: I don't think, I think she's self-medicating. I think she's
- 45:34Speaker 4: also medicating. You know, she's getting her Xanax, which is great.
- 45:39Speaker 4: But she's medicating. She's self-medicating. And then with her therapist,
- 45:43Speaker 4: she's rerouting the conversations to talk about her therapist. So
- 45:47Speaker 4: I don't think she's dealt, you know. I think that, yeah.
- 45:53Speaker 4: And that's where some of these things are helpful, you know,
- 46:00Speaker 4: these shows for this reason because people get clarity.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:05Speaker 2: This will be interesting.
- 46:06Speaker 3: I would like her to be out of the marriage
- 46:07Speaker 3: with a woman.
- 46:09Speaker 2: That's all I want. It's all we were asking for, really. Yeah.
- 46:14Speaker 2: You know, be with a wonderful woman and bring her
- 46:18Speaker 2: to that apartment. Get rid of the power bars. And,
- 46:21Speaker 2: you know, stock your pantry with some real food.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Thank you. Put an avocado in there.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Yes.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Carol's Gala. I just have to circle back and say, like,
- 46:32Speaker 2: Jennifer Tilly and freaking Haley. grabbing her boob that was
- 46:40Speaker 2: crazy I was honestly astounded I don't like that at
- 46:44Speaker 2: all she didn't even know her I mean we see
- 46:47Speaker 2: a lot of these housewives groping each other grabbing each
- 46:50Speaker 2: other's asses and boobs but they know each other it's
- 46:54Speaker 2: consensual they're comfortable they know their body language and the
- 46:59Speaker 2: fact that Jennifer Tilly didn't say anything you know yeah
- 47:04Speaker 2: I felt like You know.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Cameras are on.
- 47:07Speaker 4: She's just swinging by in a great dress to say
- 47:09Speaker 4: a quick hello.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Keep your hands to yourself. You don't know her.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:14Speaker 4: It was very bizarre.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Why are you tapping on her titty?
- 47:20Speaker 2: It's weird. It's so weird. That is unhinged. Like, you
- 47:27Speaker 2: can't have someone coming in and doing that. And I
- 47:29Speaker 2: hope that, like, the producers said something. Honestly, I guess
- 47:33Speaker 2: I'm not surprised they didn't keep it in, but. Lord,
- 47:36Speaker 2: we got to keep our hands to ourselves.
- 47:39Speaker 4: We got to have a sense of ourselves. You know,
- 47:42Speaker 4: we've got to gather and just, just, you.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Know, get a grip.
- 47:48Speaker 4: I mean, that was, yeah, come on now.
- 47:50Speaker 3: And she was like, give me a hug.
- 47:52Speaker 4: It looked like Jennifer did not give her a hug,
- 47:54Speaker 4: but what's hard to say with editing.
- 47:56Speaker 3: I think Jennifer was like, I'm good. Thanks.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Yeah. She's like, yeah, we're going to just Go down
- 48:03Speaker 2: over here and just get my paddle ready to buy everything.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Carol was like, she looked at her like, what the
- 48:13Speaker 3: hell was that?
- 48:14Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 48:15Speaker 3: I know.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Oh, and then Erica being friends with like Anne Hathaway.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Oh, my God. And her husband.
- 48:25Speaker 4: She's like, we need, there's a lot.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Happening over there.
- 48:30Speaker 2: So good. It's so good. Yes.
- 48:32Speaker 1: P.S.
- 48:32Speaker 3: I did do a bit of a dive into built.
- 48:36Speaker 2: Oh.
- 48:37Speaker 4: First of all, rewards are so hard and I don't
- 48:40Speaker 4: do math. So it's like it goes against my general nature.
- 48:44Speaker 4: But I can say this. If you're a renter, I
- 48:48Speaker 4: think it's a lot more straightforward and it's great.
- 48:51Speaker 2: If you are an owner. Oh, if you're a renter. Oh, interesting.
- 48:54Speaker 3: If you're a renter, it was built for renters.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Oh.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Now they have looped in owners.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Yes.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Here's the great news.
- 49:03Speaker 4: Your mortgage doesn't sit on the built card, okay? So
- 49:08Speaker 4: you pay your mortgage, it goes through the built card,
- 49:12Speaker 4: and then it gets pulled out a day or two later,
- 49:15Speaker 4: it gets pulled out of your bank account to your lender. Mm-hmm.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Okay.
- 49:21Speaker 4: So it's not like you're accruing credit card.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Debt or debt. Yeah, or interest on what you're putting
- 49:30Speaker 2: in there, or they're not gaining interest in the money
- 49:32Speaker 2: that you put over there.
- 49:33Speaker 4: Yeah, that makes sense. And there's a couple different tiers.
- 49:37Speaker 4: You can have like a zero interest tier, the bottom one.
- 49:43Speaker 4: But I will say this, people who use it, I
- 49:46Speaker 4: was checking out Reddit threads and stuff, if you can
- 49:50Speaker 4: get your head around points... And you are up for
- 49:54Speaker 4: that kind of a game.
- 49:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:55Speaker 2: There's people that can do that, right? I mean, there's
- 49:57Speaker 2: people that will thrive on that. Yeah.
- 50:00Speaker 3: It seems like travel is amazing.
- 50:03Speaker 4: And I saw some people on Reddit being like, you know,
- 50:06Speaker 4: it doesn't even seem like built. How are they even
- 50:08Speaker 4: making money? And other people like, don't worry about it.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Just use it. We've gotten so much great.
- 50:13Speaker 4: Like experiences and travel and perks. And so it's not
- 50:17Speaker 4: a one for one with your mortgage. Like if you,
- 50:21Speaker 4: to have a $ 3, 000 mortgage, you're not going to get $ 3, 000
- 50:24Speaker 4: worth of points through built, but you do get a
- 50:28Speaker 4: chunk and then you would have to use that card
- 50:30Speaker 4: for your everyday spending as well for it to make
- 50:33Speaker 4: sense and get the points.
- 50:36Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 50:37Speaker 4: I mean, I would love if anyone has listened, please
- 50:40Speaker 4: share how your experience is. I feel like I want
- 50:43Speaker 4: to talk to somebody who has.
- 50:45Speaker 3: Used it, but it seems pretty cool.
- 50:49Speaker 2: It's got to be working. And I have noticed a
- 50:52Speaker 2: lot of these types of businesses popping up where it's
- 50:56Speaker 2: a point system and you filter your stuff through that.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Like Cash App, I do ads for Cash App. And
- 51:02Speaker 2: that actually seems like a very practical way to pay
- 51:09Speaker 2: out certain things, but also have like your kids on
- 51:12Speaker 2: that as well. So there's like all these different types
- 51:17Speaker 2: of financial apps or opportunities to filter your money through
- 51:24Speaker 2: different avenues and in using like a middle person that
- 51:28Speaker 2: you can gain from, I guess is.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Yes.
- 51:30Speaker 2: What's interesting? They're popping up.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I'm not, you may see me over
- 51:36Speaker 4: on built and I may be the person reporting back because.
- 51:38Speaker 3: I'm like, I want points. Yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 4: You know, I want my points to be working for me. Um,
- 51:46Speaker 4: but she, having Annie and her husband give you the
- 51:50Speaker 4: personal invite to the Devil Wears Prada 2 movie is fun.
- 51:57Speaker 3: I know.
- 51:58Speaker 2: It's like, that's what we need, you know? And she
- 52:01Speaker 2: didn't lead with that. Erica did not lead with that.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Carol pushed and then she pushed and it was like
- 52:08Speaker 2: a third push. And she's like, well, actually, you know,
- 52:12Speaker 2: and so true. So that's impressive to me. I liked that.
- 52:16Speaker 2: It is.
- 52:17Speaker 4: She seems very laid back and that's a really nice,
- 52:21Speaker 4: that wears nicely. We haven't had this kind of wealth
- 52:24Speaker 4: and someone who seems pretty low key. Yeah.
- 52:27Speaker 2: I don't know if we ever have. I'm not sure.
- 52:29Speaker 4: No.
- 52:29Speaker 3: That's great. You're right.
- 52:32Speaker 4: I mean, I actually, when, when Carol pushed her, like,
- 52:36Speaker 4: do you have to go or are you just wanting
- 52:39Speaker 4: to go to that? You know, you just want to
- 52:42Speaker 4: show up at the premiere.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 52:45Speaker 3: I thought Carol had her. Like she just wants to
- 52:47Speaker 3: go to the premiere. She wants to wear a cute dress.
- 52:50Speaker 2: No.
- 52:51Speaker 3: And invited her. Like that was a great reveal.
- 52:54Speaker 2: It was so good.
- 52:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:55Speaker 2: I really like Erica. I'm happy about this cast. We're
- 52:58Speaker 2: getting into the private island trip next week. It's going
- 53:03Speaker 2: to be, it's already off. It's like, it's amazing. I'm excited.
- 53:07Speaker 2: I'm excited. So thank you so much for listening. Deanna,
- 53:11Speaker 2: where can the folks, where can the darlings find you?
- 53:13Speaker 3: Oh, gosh. You know what?
- 53:15Speaker 4: If you wouldn't mind heading over to How to Be
- 53:19Speaker 4: Less Old on Apple Podcasts and giving it a go.
- 53:23Speaker 4: We have some darlings over there who listen. Thank you.
- 53:27Speaker 3: And, you know, subscribe, maybe leave a little comment. That'd
- 53:30Speaker 3: be fun.
- 53:31Speaker 2: Great. Well, guys, thank you so much for listening. And
- 53:35Speaker 2: we got Below Deck Med coming at you. I am
- 53:37Speaker 2: excited to do the Next Gen Reunion Part 2 because
- 53:40Speaker 2: I didn't get to do that while I was away.
- 53:43Speaker 2: And Salt Lake City as well as Orange County. My God.
- 53:47Speaker 2: So many things. I know. I'm so excited about it.
