- 0:01Galatians chapter 6, let us pray.
- 0:07Our God and our King and our Lord Jesus Christ, we worship
- 0:13you today in spirit and truth. We are your laid down lovers.
- 0:18Marcus. Today, with your goodness and
- 0:21grace and love and mercy, fill us today, overflowing with the
- 0:27Holy Ghost. God, I pray that you'll give us
- 0:30the mind of Christ. Give us sound doctrine and sound
- 0:34theology. God, remove any rock of a fence.
- 0:37Today, God, remove any stumbling block as we stand upon the chief
- 0:43cornerstone. Lord, I pray that these words
- 0:46will become precious to us. Let them be sweet like honey in
- 0:50our mouth. Lord, I pray that our time
- 0:55together with You Father, will be pleasing aroma unto your
- 0:59nostrils. God, I pray that you will help
- 1:02us today to understand more of who you are.
- 1:07Lord, I pray for healing today from on.
- 1:10High. Lord, I pray that you'll drive
- 1:12out any unclean, impure spirit from off of our lives and
- 1:17houses, off of our spouses, God and children.
- 1:20God, I pray for a place of peace today in our workplace.
- 1:27Lord, I pray that someone today will get saved.
- 1:31God, I pray that you'll lead many into repentance today.
- 1:35God, I pray in the name of Jesus for one life that is completely
- 1:40sold out to you and not entangled with all the cares of
- 1:45this world. Father, I pray in the name of
- 1:47Jesus that you will raise up missionaries, raise up those
- 1:51that will take the whole word to the whole world.
- 1:54Father, I thank you, Lord Jesus, for the inspired word, the
- 1:58infallible, inerrant word of God.
- 2:01That is Jesus Christ. He became flesh and He is God.
- 2:06And I thank you, Father, that the entirety of Scripture is
- 2:10profitable for the salvation of mankind.
- 2:14Thank you, Father God, we build our lives upon it.
- 2:18Lord, let it become congruence in our minds.
- 2:22Lord, let it all work together. Lord, let it all build upon
- 2:26itself. Father, line upon line and
- 2:29precept upon precept. Father, Scripture interpreting
- 2:32Scripture today. God, I thank you, Lord, for this
- 2:35time together. Holy Spirit, fill us today,
- 2:40teach us today. Holy Spirit, correct and
- 2:42discipline us today. Holy Spirit, we love you.
- 2:47King Jesus, the Spirit and the bride says, come, Maranatha, we
- 2:54cry out, we see the leaves on the fig tree, we feel the
- 2:58contractions today, the birth pains today.
- 3:02We see that the head is crowning and we know that summer is near.
- 3:08And we look up and see our redemption is drawing near.
- 3:13And your rewards are with you. So we thank you, Lord Jesus,
- 3:17keep us from the hour of temptation that is coming upon
- 3:22the entire world to test all of the inhabitants.
- 3:26We love you Father, we worship you, ABBA El Shaddai, El Elian.
- 3:40You are our everything. Yahweh, Yeshua, Amasiya, we love
- 3:47you, and it's in your holy and precious and powerful worthy
- 3:55name that I pray. Amen.
- 3:59Well, let's start in verse one brothers.
- 4:07If a man be overtaken in a fault, you which are spiritual
- 4:11restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering
- 4:17yourself, unless you also be tempted.
- 4:20So Paul here is referencing something that we got to see
- 4:25actually fleshed out in Second Corinthians, which started back
- 4:29in First Corinthians, which is where someone in the church was
- 4:33involved in a sinful lifestyle that they were not repentant of.
- 4:40But this individual came to their senses because they were
- 4:44put out of the church and then they repented.
- 4:49They confessed that it was wrong.
- 4:51They turned from it and they actually started living the
- 4:56right way and desired to come back into the fold.
- 5:00And the Corinthians were not willing to allow him, and Paul
- 5:04had to correct them on that. And here we see the same thought
- 5:08processes revisited here in the churches of Galatia.
- 5:13And Paul tells them that they need to restore such a one, and
- 5:18they need to do it in meekness, which is power under control.
- 5:22Friends, think of a gallant steed that is under control, a
- 5:27mighty beast of magnificent proportion which is under
- 5:33control. Think of a canine dog who has
- 5:40been well trained and he sits and it is such power under
- 5:44control and he waits for the call of his master to attack.
- 5:49But he has the ability to attack but he chooses to obey his
- 5:55master and that is meekness. Friends, we are called to exude
- 6:00meekness. There's such power in a blood
- 6:03bought born again believer who's going to bust heaven wide open.
- 6:07There's more power in one St. than all the nuclear bombs on
- 6:11planet earth all put together. And what magnificent power on
- 6:17display. And what you need to understand
- 6:19is meekness is when you bridle that steed, when you're able to
- 6:25control and have self-control friends and be quick to listen,
- 6:31be slow to speak and slow to anger.
- 6:34Such magnificent power under control.
- 6:39We do not need to be tempted by our pride and arrogance.
- 6:45And that is what causes someone not to want to restore a
- 6:49repentant brother or sister back into the fold.
- 6:54Verse 2 bear you one another's burdens and so fulfill the law
- 6:58of Christ. That is what Christ told us.
- 7:01He says, I give you a new commandment.
- 7:04And he tells us to love one another.
- 7:07And we need to know that we are to bear the burdens of someone
- 7:14who is truly repentant and truly desire is to be restored.
- 7:21And that is what Paul is referencing here, is to not just
- 7:26think of ourselves as pious and self-righteous and holier than
- 7:32thou, but we all one another, one another, we all fall short,
- 7:39friends of the glory of God. And there was only one perfect
- 7:43person who has ever walked this planet, and that is who we
- 7:48serve. 3 For if a man thinks himself to be something, he's
- 7:57nothing, and he deceives himself.
- 8:01So here we know that the word of God tells us to think of others
- 8:05as better than ourselves. And what a hard concept that is.
- 8:10It's easier to look down the nose.
- 8:12It's easier to measure our righteousness against someone
- 8:16else's. And we say, yeah, I guess I'm
- 8:19better than they are because I'm not doing all of those outward
- 8:23sins, not realizing that the inward sins are just as damaging
- 8:31to the Christian walk, friends. And that is what you need to
- 8:36understand is that we bear one another's burdens by edifying
- 8:42each other and by coming alongside and doing life with
- 8:47others and not just being being self seeking and not just
- 8:53thinking that we are better than those who have less or that we
- 8:59are better than those that have more.
- 9:02Christ was never afraid to keep community with all socio
- 9:09economic classes. He never tried to shy away from
- 9:15the poor and he never tried to shy away from the rich.
- 9:19He had the worst things to say towards the religious people,
- 9:25who thought of themselves as better than others.
- 9:31Do not be wise in your own eyes, for but let every man prove his
- 9:38own work and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone and
- 9:43not in another. So he's saying, don't try to
- 9:47ride in on the coattails of the pastor.
- 9:50Don't try to ride in on the coattails of your grandparents
- 9:54or your mother or your father. Don't try to ride in on the
- 9:58coattails of another St. You have got to have a personal
- 10:02relationship with God Almighty through His Son Jesus Christ.
- 10:07You cannot come in the same way that another does.
- 10:12We all must put on the blood of Jesus Christ, the righteousness
- 10:17of Jesus Christ, the purity of Jesus Christ.
- 10:21That is the only way that we'll ever make it there.
- 10:23You cannot rely on someone else to get you into the fold. 5 For
- 10:32every man shall bear his own burden.
- 10:34We're going to have to give a personal account for our lives,
- 10:38friends, and that is what you need to understand.
- 10:41You're not going to be able to get before Almighty God and try
- 10:45to claim someone else's walk, someone else's righteousness,
- 10:54someone else's purity. You're not going to be able to
- 10:58stand before Almighty God and tell Him what church you went
- 11:02to, what denomination you were part of, what version of the
- 11:06Bible you were reading. You're not going to be able to
- 11:08stand before Almighty God and tell Him what kind of worship
- 11:12music you preferred while you were on planet earth.
- 11:16You must be clothed in the blood of Jesus Christ from the soles
- 11:21of your feet to the top of your head, from your palms to your
- 11:24back. You need to be covered and
- 11:26washed in the blood and put on His righteousness, and that is
- 11:32the only way that you will be made holy before a holy God.
- 11:37You'll have to bear your own burden, Friends. 6 Let him that
- 11:42is taught in the Word communicate unto him that
- 11:46teaches in all good things. So what is he trying to say?
- 11:51This is the case of a teaching brother, and we need to
- 11:55understand that some of us have been on the spiritual milk for
- 12:00way too long. We have not even graduated to
- 12:03the spiritual meat yet. We're still wanting to be taught
- 12:09when there are things that the Lord Jesus Christ has given us
- 12:13to teach. And that is where I see so many
- 12:18people go wrong in their Christian walk, is they desire
- 12:22to farm out the responsibility to the professionalized pulpit.
- 12:29And that has been the greatest tragedy that the world has ever
- 12:34seen is when we professionalized the pulpit and we gave people
- 12:40the idea that only the learned class should be those that are
- 12:46teaching. If you have access to the Word
- 12:49of God and you are indwelled with the Holy Spirit, you have
- 12:53the mind of Christ. And everything that we teach has
- 12:57to line up with God's revealed will from Genesis to Revelation.
- 13:02And that is what you need to understand.
- 13:04It's not some new doctrine and new theology.
- 13:08It's not some new ideas that we we need to put down.
- 13:14It is the Rhema, the spoken word of God that goes out and it
- 13:22saves people's lives. It goes out and people are
- 13:27radically changed and all we need to do is be faithful to
- 13:34speak God's word. That's all it is.
- 13:38It's that simple, friends. We do not muddle it, we do not
- 13:43add anything to it, We do not take anything from it.
- 13:48It is the complete authority which is profitable for the
- 13:52salvation of mankind. And that is what you need to
- 13:55understand. And there are too many people
- 13:58who have farmed out this responsibility to the
- 14:03professionalized pulpit for those that have a degree hanging
- 14:07on the wall and they themselves are not even saved.
- 14:11What a tragedy we are witnessing at an alarming rate.
- 14:16And that is where the apostasy comes in.
- 14:19Friends is these people have never truly been indwelled with
- 14:24the Holy Spirit, but they have the accreditation to speak and
- 14:32they're leading people away in droves, Friends.
- 14:36And you see it in our day and our hour, you see all of these
- 14:40garbage sex start popping up all over the place.
- 14:47And they're teaching heresy and they're teaching things that are
- 14:50unbiblical. And they don't believe the
- 14:53infallibility of God's word. They don't believe in the
- 14:56inerrancy of God's Word. And they're calling scriptures
- 14:59into question. And it's resulting in such
- 15:03confusion and it's resulting in people becoming twice the sons
- 15:10of hell as the teachers themselves are. 7 Be not
- 15:19deceived. God is not mocked.
- 15:21For whatsoever a man sews that shall he also reap.
- 15:26Do not be deceived. God will not be mocked.
- 15:30And you see it in our culture, you see it in our day, you see
- 15:34it all around us. This blaspheming that is
- 15:37happening at an alarming rate on every major channel, every major
- 15:45publication, everything that is mainstream, you see the
- 15:51blasphemy at the highest levels. But we do not need to be
- 15:55deceived that God will not be mocked.
- 15:58And these who do such things will have to pay because it is
- 16:06written and it stands the test of time.
- 16:10This is the way of God, that He will share His glory with no
- 16:15one, and we will have no other gods but God Almighty.
- 16:20And that is a tragedy as well. And you see it happening in our
- 16:27day and our hour. And it crept up, and the mouse
- 16:31got his head in the door, and now the whole body has come in
- 16:35and reared its ugly head, and now we're seeing it all played
- 16:40out. But the Bible told us that it
- 16:42would be so. But just know that you cannot
- 16:46put a watermelon seed in the ground and get a Peachtree.
- 16:51What you put in the ground naturally is what you will get
- 16:55out. So if you sow in righteousness,
- 16:58you will reap righteousness, and if you sow in evil, you will
- 17:03reap evil. And that is just the way that it
- 17:06works, friends. But aren't you thankful for
- 17:10Jesus Christ who came in? And if you will place your faith
- 17:14in Him today, then He will cover all of the things that you have
- 17:21done. But if you will not come to Him
- 17:24honestly and if you will not put your faith in Him completely and
- 17:29wholeheartedly, the sad reality is there is a judgment for all
- 17:35those who refuse the Lord Jesus Christ, and they will have to
- 17:39reap what they have sown. If you have breath in your lungs
- 17:43today, it's not too late for you.
- 17:45His mercies are new every day. And we do not have to get stuck
- 17:50in sin. We do not have to get stuck in
- 17:54eternal damnation. We can if we have life today.
- 17:59And if you have, if you're listening to the sound of my
- 18:02voice, there is another chance for you.
- 18:05God has given you one more chance to put your faith in the
- 18:09Lord Jesus Christ. Authentically, wholeheartedly,
- 18:13100% not compartmentalized, not Jesus plus anything.
- 18:20It is only Jesus Christ that can keep you from having to reap
- 18:26what you have sown. 8 For he that sows to his flesh shall of
- 18:35the flesh reap corruption, but he that sows to the Spirit shall
- 18:41of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be
- 18:46weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we
- 18:51faint. Not so many people have started
- 18:53off on the good path, but because of offense and because
- 18:59God doesn't work in the way that they think that He should and
- 19:02the timing that they had hoped for, they fall away.
- 19:05They grew weary, friends, but the Bible here is telling us, do
- 19:09not grow weary of doing good. Keep it up and in due time, in
- 19:15God's perfect timing, you will see all of what you have sown
- 19:20into the Kingdom be revealed to you, and it will be far better
- 19:26than any manufacturing on your own part, any kind of
- 19:30manipulation of God and twisting God's arm to get your way.
- 19:35It does not work that way. God has a proper time for
- 19:39everything. Just like whenever you sow seeds
- 19:42into the ground, they do not just spring up overnight, they
- 19:46have to take time. You must water them, you must
- 19:50care for them, and it's the same thing with the spiritual seeds
- 19:54that we sow But God is the one who gives the increase.
- 19:57Never forget that. Do not faint when you don't see
- 20:03growth. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto
- 20:10all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith.
- 20:16So this is what you need to understand is that when you are
- 20:19operating in the Spirit, walking in the Spirit.
- 20:23You will be a blessing to unbelievers and believers, but
- 20:27you will especially bless those who truly know our Lord Jesus
- 20:33Christ. They will see Jesus all over you
- 20:35in deep calls to deep, and your Spirit will confirm with their
- 20:39spirit, and it will be a blessing to them.
- 20:42If we will walk in the Spirit, then you will see so many of the
- 20:47problems in your life fade away. There's so many of the
- 20:52contentions and the strife and the anger and the fits of rage
- 20:56and the arguments and the altercations will start to
- 21:04dissipate. 11 You see how large a letter I've written unto you
- 21:11with my own hand? So a lot of people, a lot of
- 21:15scholars have speculated that the thorn in Paul's flesh was
- 21:21some kind of ophthalmology, some kind of problem with his
- 21:26eyesight. And here they're trying to say
- 21:31from previous chapters where he said he told the Galatians they
- 21:35would they would have plucked their own eyes out for them and
- 21:38hear the large letters point towards some kind of problem
- 21:42with Paul's eyes. But we can only speculate and
- 21:45such in the Bible is silent on things for a reason.
- 21:51There's nothing missed here but Paul interestingly enough writes
- 21:58this section and he says look at how large letters I'm writing
- 22:03and this could be for emphasis could be in a bold all caps
- 22:10underline italics to say pay attention lock in to what I'm
- 22:17about to write you 12 as many as desire to make a fair show in
- 22:26the flesh. They constrain you to be
- 22:29circumcised only less they should suffer persecution for
- 22:35the cross of Christ. He's saying the reason that
- 22:38these Judaizers are coming in wanting you to come under the
- 22:41law is so that you don't have to suffer the persecution of being
- 22:47a Christian. You can outwardly look like a
- 22:50Jew and if you look like a Jew you will not suffer persecution
- 22:55for the cross of Christ, which is is an offense to those who
- 22:59are in the Jewish faith. So he's saying just follow us.
- 23:04This is what the Judaizers say to the churches in Galatia.
- 23:09Follow the law of Moses and you won't have to suffer
- 23:12persecution. 13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised
- 23:20keep the law, but desire to have you circumcised, that they make
- 23:24glory in your flesh. So this is some kind of merit
- 23:28badge. And they're saying, look at all
- 23:31of the ones that I've got to circumcise themselves and to
- 23:35come under the law of Moses. And Paul is saying that this is
- 23:40despicable and this is not the way that Jesus Christ wants us
- 23:45to live our lives. We need to be marked by grace
- 23:49and not by legalistic law keeping.
- 23:52And if you're going to try to keep the law, then you have to
- 23:54keep every single bit of it to be made right with God.
- 23:58And no man ever could or never has, except for Jesus Christ. 14
- 24:06But God forbid that I should glory except in the cross of our
- 24:13Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and
- 24:19I unto the world. So Paul here saying, The world
- 24:26is dead to me, and I'm dead to the world.
- 24:30He's telling these Galatians that he does not have to operate
- 24:35in the same manner as the rest of the world.
- 24:39He is not worried about what the world thinks about him.
- 24:43And that is where we must get to.
- 24:45Friends, you have to get to a place where you're not concerned
- 24:50with how the world views you. You are only accountable to God
- 24:55Almighty and you have an audience of one that we please.
- 24:59Friends, we are not self seeking and we are also not pleasers of
- 25:06man. We seek to be pleasing to God
- 25:13with all of our words, with all of our actions, with all of our
- 25:17thoughts, with our emotions, with the very life that we live.
- 25:21We seek God's approval and not man's, and it is found in the
- 25:29blood of Christ and what He did on the cross.
- 25:32That is the thing that makes us at one with God, and we can have
- 25:37the peace of God knowing that we're in right standing with
- 25:41him. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails
- 25:53anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
- 25:57If any man is in Christ, he's a new creation.
- 25:59The old things have passed away. Behold, all things are new, and
- 26:05Jesus Christ makes all things new.
- 26:08And we know that when we are regenerated and born again, He
- 26:13gives us a new mind and a new heart, friends.
- 26:17And we do not see the world around us the way that we used
- 26:20to. And that is how you can know if
- 26:22you're filled with the Holy Ghost or not.
- 26:24That is how you can know if you are marked with the Holy Ghost
- 26:27or not. You should have conviction for
- 26:30the things that you had no conviction of prior.
- 26:33And if you do not have that conviction and something is awry
- 26:39and something is amiss, but today is the day of salvation,
- 26:43recommit resurrender, give your life, perhaps for the first time
- 26:48over to the Lord God Almighty and let Him give you the Holy
- 26:52Spirit by faith. And watch how all the things
- 26:57that you used to not see anything wrong with all of a
- 27:01sudden become very deplorable and very destitute and very
- 27:08offensive to the Spirit of God Almighty.
- 27:11And you will not be able to continue to listen to all of the
- 27:14garbage, all the satanic worship, all of the horror
- 27:20movies, all of the tarot cards, and all of the new age garbage.
- 27:26It will become offensive to the Spirit of God and we will not
- 27:31satisfy all the lusts of our flesh.
- 27:34And we will not be trying to please man by giving in to all
- 27:39of the garbage that is being propagated.
- 27:42Even at the highest levels of office.
- 27:45We are under the law, we are under the grace of God and not
- 27:51under the law, Friends, we are above it.
- 27:54And so that is what you need to understand.
- 27:56It is that Jesus Christ alone is our chief cornerstone.
- 28:02He is our everything. He is the leader and we follow
- 28:07Him. We do not follow after this
- 28:09world. We do not love the world or
- 28:11anything in the world, Friends. We are called out of the world,
- 28:15friends. We're in it, but we're not of it
- 28:18anymore. We are just pilgrims passing
- 28:21through a strange land. 16 and as many as walk according to
- 28:25this rule. Peace be on them, and mercy and
- 28:34upon the Israel of God. What an interesting little
- 28:38passage here. And this is where you get the
- 28:41replacement theology. This is where you get the new
- 28:46covenant, where the Church becomes the new Israel.
- 28:57And we know that the meaning of this passage is very simple,
- 29:03that when you come to the Lord Jesus Christ and you place your
- 29:07faith in him, all the promises of Abraham are attached to you
- 29:14and all the blessings of that nation are attached to you.
- 29:20And it's the same for the ethnic Jews.
- 29:23They have to come in the same way that the Gentiles do, and
- 29:28they do not just get to go to heaven because they are of the
- 29:31genealogy of Abraham, which was being taught during this time.
- 29:38That Abraham stood at the gates and that he made sure none of
- 29:44his descendants had to go to hell, and that all the
- 29:50descendants of Abraham automatically got to go to
- 29:53heaven. And we know that that is
- 29:56heretical teaching. And so the Jews had a false
- 29:59sense of salvation. And here Paul is wanting us to
- 30:04know, and he's wanting them to know, and he's wanting the
- 30:07Judaizers to know that they must come in through Jesus Christ.
- 30:12He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes unto
- 30:16the Father except through Him. And we are the wild branches
- 30:20grafted in to the natural. But do not forget that the
- 30:31Romans 11/12/13, you're going to see where the Jews, the ethnic
- 30:39Jews are the natural. And yes, they are cut off for
- 30:44now so that the Gentiles can come in into the full number,
- 30:48but it will be much easier for the natural branch that was cut
- 30:53off to be grafted back in to the natural tree.
- 31:00God is not done with that nation Israel.
- 31:04He is not done with that geographical place on planet
- 31:07earth, in Jerusalem. Jesus Christ will rule and reign
- 31:13from that literal geographical place on planet earth.
- 31:17And the Jews, the ethnic Jews, will come to a saving knowledge
- 31:24of their Lord Jesus Christ eventually, friends, and that is
- 31:30why the Jews as a whole are not exterminated and they have not
- 31:36been swept away. They have not been intermingled
- 31:41into different nations. They are set apart and they are
- 31:46God's chosen people. And we would do well to bless
- 31:50them, and we would do well to not curse them and not turn our
- 31:55backs on them. So we cannot have this
- 31:58replacement theology that says God's done with the Jews and
- 32:03they are of no more and that we are the new Israel that is not
- 32:09congruent with the entirety of God's scripture.
- 32:13That is cherry picking verses to try to make us feel better about
- 32:20turning our backs on the Jews so that we do not suffer the
- 32:25persecution of standing with the most persecuted people group on
- 32:31planet earth. And that's sphere of man friends
- 32:36as a whole. And far be it from Christians to
- 32:40ever be the ones to persecute any people group, much less the
- 32:46natural tree that we were grafted into.
- 32:53And that is what is referenced here. 17 From now on let no man
- 33:00trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord
- 33:05Jesus. Paul could rightfully say this.
- 33:08He could rightfully say that he is won their affection by all of
- 33:17the stripes, by all of the persecutions, by the stoning
- 33:23that he had, the shipwrecks, the Knights of hunger fasting.
- 33:30Paul could rightfully say that he has run the race.
- 33:35He is finished. Well, we'll end on 18 brothers,
- 33:41the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with your spirit,
- 33:45Amen. That's what we need.
- 33:48We need Christ, we need grace and we know that suffering is on
- 33:55the table. We do not shrink back from it.
- 33:59I hope that you've been blessed by this amazing chapter in God's
- 34:02Word. No, I sure have.
- 34:07I'm praying for you. Love you.
- 34:12We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 34:14God bless you.
