- 0:00[SPEAKER_04]: What has happened to everybody and welcome back to another episode of the sports card C.E.O.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_04]: The boys are in the house and we have none other than arm latent on the resident expert, the guru of all things baseball and our buddy, to talk today about 20, 25, Bowman draft that is releasing today the day the episode air.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: He did it, a 47 season and a season of life in the other and naturely baseball history from one of the co-natured.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, it's this one, man.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's so loyal to us, my truck has ripped him on him.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, guys?
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: This is Mike Traut.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm here to listen to Sports Park CEO, your current Buffland hand.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_04]: So appreciate you guys tuning in.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_03]: Boys, what's happening?
- 1:13[SPEAKER_03]: What's up?
- 1:14[SPEAKER_03]: Not much.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm already just just spent all last night racking through all the prices, trying to figure out, you know, where we can average out, who's selling for what?
- 1:23[SPEAKER_03]: And I already have a bunch of big standouts.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm excited for that.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: I'll just pick up a picture card last yesterday, which I haven't done in a little bit.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm excited to talk about that on the back end of the episode.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, I'm pumped.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm missing current, but I'm excited to get into all of this because we seized it last week and I've been excited to send.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_04]: And for our listeners, Kern is going to be away.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_04]: He's dealing with some personal issues.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_04]: And we're going to carry on the show, kind of in his absence, boys in the, uh, in the, uh, kind of tradition of the CEOs, Gary, we're going to start off with a little roundtable.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_04]: Let, we'll let Bubba lead off.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_04]: And then, uh, arm and then I'll close it out.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_04]: So Bubba was been going on in your, in your world this week.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll start on the personal side.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like, man, I've gone, what a, what a roller coaster the last six, seven weeks have been for me.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: But honestly, I think, um, coming out the other side of it,
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: I had a lot of reflection to do around the holidays with my dad, what happened, and I've come out this new year, man swinging, and I feel like my mindset, personally is the best it's been in a long time.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very focused.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I'm my health, yet I've been a real wake up call for you know, with my dad and what I need to do.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm like a laser focused right now on my health.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: When you guys are going to see the Bowman farmer here in about five months, looking like Brad Pitt.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: So just prepare yourself.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: So that's already that's in full swing on a mental side.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I thought to him about this yesterday a little bit like the focus for me this year is really just now.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: I want to keep that to everybody this year under New Year's resolutions because everybody starts a new year and has goals dreams aspirations, right.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I want this year to look like this and you're going to find out really quick in the first, you know.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: 11, 12, 13 days of the year, things already don't go exactly how they plant, how you plant up.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think the big thing for me and my mindset right now is like life is short, and that's my message everybody days and just enjoy your life.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm trying to really find things that like, I only want to do the things that I love, the things that I enjoy, the things that I don't like, they're not going to have a place in my universe.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's kind of where I'm really going to get a good mindset with that right now.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Trying to keep that balance on the on the personal side.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the kind of my personal share of the week, but I feel like I feel good.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think eating clean and really made me feel like a super high energy.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: So feeling good there on a card front man like we are moving and shaking hand, as you know, obviously we've teamed up and are buying a lot.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Or, I mean, last night, a little mad and hour text in it, you know, nine, nine, third in, last night, still getting deals done.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, we're buying a lot and kind of stockpiling right now.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly have never seen a solid into the COVID market in cards.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: This is the best baseball card market there's ever been and it's not even close.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I mean, the market is red hot and people are hoarding inventory.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And so it makes it a really good time in my opinion where you can grab stuff.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: You believe in it players like there's a lot of money to be made.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: in the next 90 days.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we are, we're on hyper mode right now, acquiring and stockpiling and in preparation, but feel really good about it, feel really good where we're saying, that's my weak word, arm.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I wanted to start to Gary, I really appreciate you sharing that and like taking a,
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: really like kind of jarring and very difficult personal life situation we get through it and turning it into a positive is always a valuable perspective.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes unfortunately same thing happened to me when I lost my father like it takes sometimes just life shaking you like crazy and then all of the sudden you have this valuable perspective you didn't have before.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad I'm glad to hear that and I appreciate you sharing that some show a lot of people you know listening can you
- 4:46[SPEAKER_03]: take something valuable from that.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_03]: And the other side of it, too, is for me, it's kind of what got me back into the hobby.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, because, yes, we want to, you know, invest and make money and have fun with it and be able to fund more of the hobby and
- 5:01[SPEAKER_03]: I'll be able to do different things, but the other side of it is I think to end up just having the most fun with this when I channel my dad and go back to being a kid in the sports card shop.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: You can up cards and since I've really focused on that and like taps into that I've been having so much fun.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about like the card burnout side of things and just kind of reminding myself why I enjoy it and why I do it so much and you know and sometimes we have partnership deals and all these different things and he starts to drift away from from the why and.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_03]: That's been a big thing for me this offseason.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_03]: I've been going through a lot of the vintage cards over Christmas.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_03]: My mom found even more stuff from my dad because he just collected a million different things.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_03]: He also loved original photos, so like an original photo of the roof that I found in there.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_03]: I've been starting to just get interested in other types of collectibles as well that I just think are fun of course cards are always going to be the forefront, but just all these different things that get me excited, leaning into that to your point.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_03]: And that's saying, I don't have time for that.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_03]: I got to focus on cards.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_03]: I've been focusing on that front, but I'm trying to find a way to buy more right now.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_03]: I sold a little bit about a month or two ago, and then I'm just trying to see if I can pick up over the next month or so, because there's a lot of players I like, but it's your point Gary, like the market is, it's not the typical off-season soft, so I am, I'm just kind of biting that, and I'm hoping that that's just a indication that we're going to have a really strong regular season as well.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: And why don't I, I'm going to do a personal invite here live on the show.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't we come up with a little collection here, hands, foam and farmer and arm, why don't we have our own little like golden collection, why don't you join in on us here, we we picked 10 cards, 15 cards come together and do a little, little, little super, we could do some some fun kind of prospecting collection here, you have the interest man.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_03]: That would be a blast.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_03]: I would love that because I also I need your guys direction.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_03]: I get to impose.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_03]: So I go to a game like ham you you know Xavier Isaac obviously of the correction there and so happy it's again talk about perspective the perspective that that kid has now going into this season.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure is going to make him a baller, but.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_03]: I go there and I'm watching him in person, watch him take BP and I'm like, holy crap.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_03]: This is one of the better young power haters I've seen.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_03]: Then I watch him home or twice in the spring break out came back side, no doubt, or the dead central.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_03]: And I was about to get reckless and just start buying cards like crazy.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_03]: And like, that's why I need to text you guys and you guys need to be like, oh, I'm like, that's not a good price because then I get, I just get too excited.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_03]: So, I would love for that.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_03]: I need you guys to reconnect.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_03]: Call me first.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_04]: Don't call Bubba because Bubba will be right home board with you to be like, let's go, baby.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_04]: Let's go, baby.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I am the mental advisor on your options with guards.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I have my own internal name, nickname for myself is the governor.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_04]: You know, have you have a governor on like a governor?
- 7:45[SPEAKER_04]: The governor, if I have like a governor on the golf carts, so you don't go 400 miles an hour down the fairway.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, much too much too little match to grin sometimes.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_04]: But I appreciate that input there arm.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, on the personal side, Gary, you know, I hear you talk about this and again, I spent years doing executive coaching, personal coaching, speaking, all that kind of stuff.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_04]: So that's kind of my wheelhouse.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_04]: You always think about this process that it's a little bit graphic with the birthing process, right?
- 8:10[SPEAKER_04]: It's not comfortable.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_04]: Like, there's a lot of pain, there's a lot of tension, there's a lot of tightness, there's a lot of squeezing, but ultimately the birthings what comes on the personal side, when you go through that type of tension, when you go through those types of difficulties, all they're doing is trying to
- 8:24[SPEAKER_04]: birth out or bring forth kind of a new mindset, a new perspective, the new, you know, part of yourself.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_04]: And if you're not willing to go through that struggle, that pain, that difficulty or whatever, you're never going to get the other side of it.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_04]: And so many people refuse to come through that because they refuse to go through that.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_04]: And so they stay where they are in this place of struggle or whatever.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_04]: So just a little bit of my two cents there.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I've been in a similar space, man, the new year has really brought forth just a lot of
- 8:52[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm just kind of like looking around and just trusting the process man just knowing where you're supposed to step and just step and go and I'm just kind of having great faith in that did that journey.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_04]: So that's been great for us and excited on the card front man.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_04]: You know, this new endeavor Gary will we've kind of partnered up and started buying cards or whatever it's freed us up on the PC side to be able to do some stuff there.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I bought three really, really nice Cal Ripkin inserts, you know, he's my guy and I went and I bought the platinum adalien number to a hundred PSA 10 pop to, you know, and I bought the rose zero and a PSA eight fresh label number to a hundred as well and then today.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_04]: I bought a 97 finest die cut refractor, you know, they only made like 60 of them.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_04]: There's like 19 grade with PSA.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_04]: So it's just been neat for me to do stuff like that.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_04]: Little Matt and I've been able to continue to look at some Jordan's some vintage.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_04]: While also staying extremely active in, you know, the modern market.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_04]: and then stuff that we're looking from inventory standpoint.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_04]: So it's been, I've had a fresh wind in my sale this year too.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_04]: You know, big, big mad.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody wants to hate on big.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_04]: Big mad scowl a little bit of running.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_04]: He's got a little bit of hustle landing.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 10:05[SPEAKER_04]: I've been doing this for a while.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just a refined version of myself.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_04]: So if you wake me up, it could be dangerous.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if it's the last thing I do have, we are going to get Cal Ripkin on the show one day.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to get Cal Ripkin on the pox.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see you like a little school girl at Disney on her first trip when he pops out the back room.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to even know that he's coming on and she's going to be like, you're Cal Ripkin.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, a total fan girl moment for you.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to get it done.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_04]: love that guy, man, 10 years old, 1991, Toronto all started game.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_04]: It did me in.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_04]: It did me in.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, through our listeners today, we're going to dive into 25 bum and draft.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_04]: It releases today, which is, you know, Wednesday, the day we're recording a couple days early.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_04]: And then on the back end of the show, we're going to talk about we're going to go a bonus feature here.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to talk about these prospects that people tend to forget during a new release that you can go pick up.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_04]: So
- 10:56[SPEAKER_04]: You know, RM, you are our resident expert, the guru, all things baseball.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_04]: So this 25 draft product, you know, you've got the lists, you know, talk to us about what you're seeing out there, what you're feeling, what you're thinking.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_04]: And let's help our listeners find some value in these guys coming out of the box.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_04]: Probably needs a value because the the product's expensive, man.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_03]: So very.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_03]: You know, that's a whole other conversation, but I think even more the reason to, you know, just target the players that you like, where I think it was, I was thinking about it the other day.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_03]: I remember in 2020, during COVID, I would, I would pop into the local card shop, you know, of course, the mask, distance, whatever, but I just pick up the box at 2020 Bowman draft.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's like super jumbo for 500 bucks.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_03]: And, and I would just do that like probably more than I
- 11:44[SPEAKER_03]: I can't buy a box.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to buy in the break.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: So that's where I've been digging deeper into the value this year than maybe ever.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_03]: But that said, like, you know, I think this draft cost is not quite as strong, at least at this point than the 2024 class.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_03]: and think it's even more reason to focus in on the players that you like.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_03]: But again, that said, I think it's fun when the most expensive player in the product is actually a high floor guy.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I know people want ceiling and L holiday is not in the products.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_03]: Holiday would have been the most difficult player because he would have been super expensive.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_03]: And if he reaches a ceiling, he's a super star, but he's probably his risky of a player as you have in the 2025 draft.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: So it is interesting that he's withheld from this one, but I mean, Eli Willitz at the top, you know, I was going to ask you guys like, what's your line of demarcation for like, because the market's so weird when a product first comes out to just sell because obviously Willitz is the most expensive in the product right now in breaks, but Willitz is a guy that I just I think his markets only going to build unless people just get bored because he's the youngest player in the class and the youngest player drafted in a very long time at the top spot.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_03]: The glove is a lead, so he's going to stick it short.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: The bat's a ball is fantastic.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to get stronger.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_03]: He's very wiring, like I said, he's a year younger than everybody else.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: So, and the National's organization is completely overhauled and is developing.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think a lot better than ever and will continue to.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: So, like, that's a player that generally you pull the top chase.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_03]: You probably want to sell, but he's an interesting conundrum because he's the most expensive, but like I would love to hold on any lie will.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_03]: It's an I usually don't say that about the top chase.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_04]: So here's kind of a thought and looking at this, you know, we kind of try to educate our listeners, you know, out of the product, you know, you're going to see prices at peak and right now, based on our research, billet says is averaging about $300 per case.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_04]: That's what his base order.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, excuse me, his price per case of draft if you're buying into breaks.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_04]: So he's averaging about $300, which means that's probably going to be the price of his base order, you know, and it'll probably push like,
- 13:43[SPEAKER_04]: 400 on early sales, you're in Griffin, Megamigal territory.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, out of the box, you know what I mean?
- 13:51[SPEAKER_04]: And so, you know, I have a buddy who is, he is a, you know, he's a scout and I kind of asked him about Eli and I said, you know, is Eli, does he have the Connor Walker type hype?
- 14:03[SPEAKER_04]: And he says, I think he's a few ticks below.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_04]: So you got it.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_04]: You got to be smart on this and you got to say, okay, he lies the guy.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_04]: Do I want the card out of product?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you're going to pay for it.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_04]: But you know, the mean when you compare him, is he truly Connor at Connor's base auto prices right now?
- 14:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_04]: Then you have to go.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's why if you hit him in a break, it might be smart to sell if you can get premium dollar on it.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you were predicting right now, or I'm obviously can't tell the future, but if you're had a prediction right now, it's three years away, four years away, five years away from, I would say three, you know, I think it depends on how aggressive they want to play.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_03]: I think the glove really helps his father being a big leader like so he goes about his business like a guy that
- 14:47[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's been around the clubhouse a little bit and that definitely helps.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think Connor Griffin doesn't have a father playing the big leagues.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_03]: But he is a father that's very involved in collegiate sports and gets how things work.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's big reason why Connor's been able to be pushed and has met every match.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_03]: And I think McGonagal it's the same thing to make up and the understanding of the game is a big part of it.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_03]: That said, he just doesn't quite have the physical tools that these other guys had or have.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_03]: But the thing is is,
- 15:13[SPEAKER_03]: He just turned 18.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't want to cap him at all, because I mean, eating about from 17 to 18 years old, so much can change than 18 to 19, so much can change.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_03]: But I think because he's their crown jewel, I do think they're going to go a little bit slower and make sure that he's in a good spot and in the spot where he can really tap into the power without compromising to hit, which is such a big strength of this.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I would say probably three.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_03]: And at that point, once you've comped it to the other guys,
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because it's probably going to be a good reentry point for will it's yeah that that's what I was going to say so I think he seems like a player to me I remember when he got drafted everybody's like why do they take this kid number one like this is this should not have been he's not the number one best player currently in this draft if he had been number 15 or 17 or 21 in the draft He might have been one of these guys we're talking about man.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: This is the steel.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: This is the guy we want to be targeting because he's going to be too cheap early on
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely getting in Connor Griff and hype and he's going to be three years away.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: The reentry point is he is as high risk, I mean, the chances of that car being higher in one year.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm going to put it as less than 10% in the only way that it's higher.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: is that he actually, he came out just balled out your one.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: He'd have to ball out the whole season and be in people go, wow, he is, he's going to be their sooner than later.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: If that doesn't happen, you're going to have a reentry point next fall, next winter, where you can go, you know what?
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: I do like willets.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: He had no kc's in or maybe struggled, but the underlying numbers look good.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's where you buy a guy like that, in my opinion.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, again, if he was picked 21, I feel different.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a total on willets.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, here's a thought to, oh, I want to throw this in there.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_04]: I had a conversation this morning with a good friend of ours.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_04]: And he's a financial advisor and he loves cards.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_04]: And he does cards on the fringe, you know, he's not as involved as we are.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_04]: But he said, man, the thing, I don't have his time.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have time.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 17:08[SPEAKER_04]: To research, to follow the trends or whatever.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_04]: So you have guys like that who have capital.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_04]: And if, and if, you know, will it's comes out of the box?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: And somebody gyms one as a PSA 10, they bought it for 300, they can gym it.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_04]: They want to sell it for 600.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_04]: You've got guys that'll pay you know, $600 for a gym out of the box for this guy.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_04]: And if this person's willing to hold that card for three years until they view, yeah, you can turn around and make some money.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_04]: And if he became the guy, of course, that's where it makes sense for people buying product out
- 17:40[SPEAKER_04]: of the box and turning it quickly.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_04]: But Gary to your point, if you can't do that, or don't do that, you better watch out because prices will come back and you better be aware because you can get burned very quickly with this stuff.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I know we're gonna go and we got arms gonna lot to touch on here.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't want to waste too much time with this, but I do think you brought up with a great point is there is a complete strategy about buying or late and grading.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: The hardest part about doing that early is you don't know where that card's going to be in three weeks.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: You're complete.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: So you could buy a raw and get it as a PSA 10.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: And it might be exactly what the raws are doing.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: Is that makes sense?
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I mean, you could have lost that much value in a period of time that you could be sitting there and you could have got a 10 and that made no money.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that the real value is let the
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let you start see the baseline, find the cleanest, but look best looking copies.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: You can and once the baseline's been set, right, quickly get the, when you know you have high confidence and a potential to get it and move on, there is a play there and there is going to be an opportunity and this is 100% a pro tip.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: If you live on eBay during the first four weeks of release, you will find guys that go on there that need cash that got it on a break, they just want quick cash and want to move the guard or they don't know they haven't done the research and you may see a gold that just sold for 1500 and he somebody might put up for 500 bucks.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: it happens every single release.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: It happens daily that there's cards that go low like that.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I just feel like in to note to kind of finish the thought while this is going on and everybody's attention is on this new release.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be other guys that are on auctions that are guys that we want to buy that we're going to buy about later.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to go low and that's an extreme buying opportunity on some of those players.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: So just to kind of food for thought moment there.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, Arm, I want to let you get back to it, but it's like, it's, it's anything with any market, right?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_04]: Like, you look at the stock market.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_04]: You can't follow every single stock in, you know, the mean as impossible, you know, the mean that's why they make funds.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_04]: So you buy into snack shots of different kind of stocks and stuff, because you can't keep up with all of it, you know what I mean?
- 19:52[SPEAKER_04]: And so find your niche, focus on your niche and then do that thing over and over again, but there's tons of opportunity here.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_04]: Davenin, you know, will it's was the top of the list here, or I'm so kind of take it down the list a little bit and talk about what you think about these guys that are coming out of the product is the top price predictions.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so will it seem to be like first and foremost there and then the next is Joe Joe Parker, but there's a little bit of room there.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_03]: Parker, the short stop with the jays.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think Parker is
- 20:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's another interesting given take here because there's a little bit of give there potentially in the price, but another guy that really has to perform right out of the gate to, you know, to be able to maintain probably that price point thing with Parker is I think his offensive skill set is probably going to translate a little bit more quickly in terms of like the high octane numbers.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_03]: I think will it's as kind of a sum of his parts guy at least out of the gate with more to build on Parker just rakes like it and that's it could be a really fun blend of hitting and
- 20:44[SPEAKER_03]: growing power.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: That's where I think Parker's fun, but again, he's not cheap.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_03]: So he's probably my second favorite bat.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_03]: If all prices were equal, you could make a case that he might be the most exciting is that he can run a little bit.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think the amateur guys are always hard to exactly figure out how fast they are because the stolen based numbers don't really help the perfect game juices every single stat you see.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_03]: So they're
- 21:07[SPEAKER_03]: And these kids are on perfect game.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_03]: I just saw graphic the other day.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_03]: They're all running.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_03]: The catchers are all running pop times better than JT Real Muto.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_03]: It's ridiculous.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_03]: So that's a whole different thing.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_03]: But a reason above average runner that you know, I think could get quicker.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_03]: But he's a good runner player.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just looking at him right now.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_04]: He's interesting.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_04]: Six to 200 pounds.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 21:25[SPEAKER_04]: And it looks like, I mean, again, that's
- 21:28[SPEAKER_04]: a couple of inches shorter than me in just a few passes.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_04]: I know body solid.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_04]: It's similar into my thing.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_04]: I did not run well.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, the main like go go back to Connor somewhere like that.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_04]: What's Connor 64?
- 21:38[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I said.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_04]: It's just it.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_04]: So, so you start to kind of see where these physical giftings are and what this kind of thing is.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_04]: But you got a lefty hit or 19 years old, eighth overall pick.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think about the Jay's market?
- 21:54[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think they're market?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_03]: feel like that.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you guys would know better than me on that front, but I just, I think they're not going anywhere anytime soon.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think their fan base is probably more rabid than ever.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_03]: I can't imagine how many fans they had when I was out there for the world series.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_03]: It just, it was the entire country.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_03]: It felt like behind them and a lot of people that, you know,
- 22:12[SPEAKER_03]: We're saying, eh, it wasn't ever really that in the baseball.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really enjoying it now.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_03]: So I wonder, just on Canada alone, how much that could drive the BlueJay's market?
- 22:20[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's probably still a little bit too expensive to be a hold based on everything that you guys just said about Eli Willitz.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_03]: Where Parker does have the offensive skill set to, you know, kind of catch the minor league by storm a little bit more probably out of the gate.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: What about his brother?
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: Did his brother got drafted in the 19th round?
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: I did some research on these two guys while back.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: and I kept coming back to his brother and being a why was he so under value compared to his brother did he end up signing or did he go back to college do you know Jacob Parker is brother yeah I think you went back to college you went back to Mississippi state I think you did too he was a freshman last year and I mean he had a good year he's got a big bat like I don't I don't know why he was not getting same hype it's like six four two
- 23:05[SPEAKER_03]: 20 or something like that.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_03]: He's a big dude.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I have problems with Jojo Parker, you know, because there was a prospect out of the Blue J's organization that completely got torched on.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_04]: We didn't get torched on.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_04]: We got out of him super quick, but he fell off the charts and that's Tucker Toman.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_04]: Tucker Toman was a high school guy.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_04]: They got picked up by the Blue J's.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I mean, he had that kind of middle-infiltre type thing and he got paid over slot.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_04]: And he was a guy.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_04]: We were kind of targeting early out of 22 draft.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_04]: and do thank goodness we got in and out of him because his stuff is falling completely off the charts.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_04]: So I have a little trepidation about Blue Jates prospects because of my Tucker Toman trauma.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_03]: I will say they're developing as well as ever.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_03]: But more on the pitching front of late to be honest, which is funny, because it's been the thing that they've been the most atrocious at in the last decade.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_03]: At least half decade, but they've been doing a really good job of late.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I think Parker will be an interesting one to see if you can kind of
- 24:04[SPEAKER_03]: did namala stalling out a little bit last year.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_03]: It'll it'll be interesting to monitor.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_03]: So let's carry on here with who's next on our list.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_03]: Setherman and does welcome to the pitching market, right?
- 24:12[SPEAKER_03]: Pirates arm that, you know, he's the highest upside picture in the class.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the point blank period side of it that.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_03]: And it's not just highest upside like this guy could be a monster.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_03]: He also could struggle and, and fizzle out like a higher percentage of prep right handed flamethrowers do than really any other position in the draft maybe other than catcher.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_03]: And even the catcher thing has changed over the last couple years, Hernandez though is special.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_03]: like it just just point blank.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's six, four, 200 pounds, really.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_03]: I thought he also mashed.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_03]: It could have been, I think a legitimate prospect is a hitter if he really leaned and do it.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: But there was one start.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_03]: I remember being able to watch the entirety of and with that and everything in this past year in his senior year where he just shoved against one of the powerhouses down here, Christopher Columbus through 99 pitches as fastball average, 97 miles an
- 25:05[SPEAKER_03]: the field of pitch for him is is really impressive for how big he is the fastball can touch triple digits and he's also in an organization here that you can say what you want about the pirates I think you can say a lot of things their minor leagues are percolating here and their pitching has been a strength right from it's not just skines not just Bubba you can go all the way down to a hundred barco and
- 25:26[SPEAKER_03]: It Thomas Harrington, they've done a really good job, and then they've even converted like a Johano Vietto into a trade chip with the Red Sox.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_03]: They've done a really good job with arms, and I think Hernandez is in a spot where he doesn't even really need to be developed.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: That much.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm excited about the fit, and I think this is a guy that if you're shooting for the stars, he's the guy to do it with.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_03]: But again, still pretty expensive is probably the third most expensive card in the product.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_04]: That's what, that's what just off the cuff.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to know to the no, no, no.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_04]: And the reason why is because, who's the youngest pitcher in the bigs right now?
- 26:01[SPEAKER_04]: I just looked this up.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_03]: Youngest pitcher in the bigs right now.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_04]: This was it, this was an opening day last year is what I looked up.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_04]: AJ Smith Schalver with the brave.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, before the season 22 years old.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_04]: So this kid Hernandez is 19.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_04]: So like, pitchers just don't debut early like prospects can.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_04]: No, Cheerio, or we're talking about Connor, like I just are they going to run him into the bigs.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they're they're not, right?
- 26:26[SPEAKER_04]: So like what kind of stat lines you're going to have to have in the minor leagues over the next three years, Alah Andrew Painter, Alah, you know, to mean, Jarlin, Santa, Arla, all these guys who have these big arms, they're two to three years away.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_04]: So again, do you feel like there's going to be a better buy-in time on this guy?
- 26:45[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sitting
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's a, hey, that's a phenomenal point.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: Given their track record with Baba Chandler, who's a, who's a few charm.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's from my, he's from exactly literally went to the high school or my kids are from right here.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: North Dakota, any high school, we live two minutes from that school.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're going to lose the last year, but yeah, I mean, the dude, I mean, but you talk about like, I can mash this guy can mash.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, in high school, he could hit, he could pitch very similar probably to Hernandez.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great athlete, great football player.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: Signed, he was, you know, signed by Clemson to like football, quarterback didn't go with baseball route.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: So very similar to Seth Hernandez.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the point here is I loved the upside.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: But it's probably you're going to have a tremendous time frame of buying windows.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, on that front, like Bubba Chandler's price is why he was a good buy.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: He was extremely cheap.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: Seth Hernandez is just like Eli Willitz that he's going to get a ton of buzz early.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: So he's going to have a lot of room to fall.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I want to give, I want to give you guys a little little inside thought here.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_04]: We have kind of gravitated towards buying the bigger cards of players, you know, the main refractor, blue, you know, gold, orange, red, whatever.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_04]: But a guy like this, like if you, if you have the ability and you like dabbling in this, which a lot of people do and you want to go out and just buy the first crumbs of these guys and you can scoop them up at a dollar a piece and you can put them away.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_04]: for the next four years, then you might find a card that you paid a dollar each for that's doing $20, $25 at debut.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_04]: Like there's a lot of guys in the Bowman space that do stuff like that.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have the kind of patience for that or the, you know what I mean, the nuance for that, but that to me is where you take guys like this and you go, if I can get just their base chrome rookies out of box and I'm willing to sit on them for a few years, then you can do ridiculous
- 28:41[SPEAKER_03]: No, and to the point of what Gary was saying, it's going to take time for him to, if they're going to take their time, too, with the way the pitching set up, and I mean, Bubba Chandler was legitimately, I think, getting frustrated and triple A last year that he wasn't getting called up.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_03]: And it's just going into these starts being like, who cares?
- 28:57[SPEAKER_03]: I, like, just because you saw him walking on a different level when he got to the big looks, because he is more than ready to be in the big league.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 29:04[SPEAKER_03]: Between this service time side of things and all that.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think it makes a lot of sense to wait and there will be another opportunity For Seth and Leslie literally has the engine painter first year and then has no injury because then we saw what happened with painter Unfortunately injury or sure.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot of reasons why you could probably wait for a better point of end here
- 29:22[SPEAKER_03]: No, all right, so marching on.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_03]: I think the comparison now to the next guys where it becomes interesting.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_03]: Kate Anderson is not going to be in the minor leagues very long.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_03]: And so that's where I'm curious where you guys stack up there with Kate.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_03]: Perfect organization for him, right?
- 29:36[SPEAKER_03]: And the Mariners, I don't need to sell you on the way they get their pitchers, pitchers going.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_03]: you also have a guy that does not do not touch it.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_03]: Like you don't need to change anything.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe some slight pitch shape tweaks, whatever it may be, pitch uses here in there.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_03]: Pounds of strike zone with four quality pitches, the track records there, the Mariners were just in all that he fell into their lap.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_03]: And I just, I feel like if you are gonna pick up a pitcher, he's slightly cheaper than Seth.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, the ceiling's a little bit lower, but I'm not really gonna put ceilings on, especially left-handed pitchers, because guys,
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: seemed to outperform their stuff all the time and he still has good stuff and he's still has room for more veto.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't rule that out.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: Anderson's an interesting one because also the Mariners do have a world like, yes, the rotations filled right now.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_03]: It won't be in a year.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_03]: So I could see a world where Kate Anderson's in that rotation in 2027.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't compare his arm to Hernandez.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think a little bit less live stuff wise, but the thing is, is he already pounds his own with four pitches.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_03]: And I still think that it's a pretty live arm, you know, I think he's going to gain a little bit more video.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, average about 93 and change his past year, but with good characteristics, so the fastball has that late life on it, and then the slider change up curveball.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_03]: all had a strike rate north of 66%.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_03]: And so if you're throwing everything in the zone, more than two thirds of the time, and the fastball characteristics are strong, he doesn't even really need to see the velocity jump, but if he does, I think he could be a monster.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_03]: And I watched him in the college of what series in Omaha, I stationed myself right behind home plate.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: There's some built-in deception there too.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: The guy can just flat out pitch.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_03]: It just depends right like if he's a number three starter, I don't know how the market reacts to that, but if he gets to the big leagues in 2027 and Phil's rotation spot for a team that has world series aspirations, I imagine people are going to be excited about it.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: So, so, okay, that's interesting with him too.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's already had Tommy John.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_03]: And that's usually a good thing.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, at this point.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_04]: So, so that Kate Anderson to me has the the the Paul Scheme's factor, the tray is savage factor in an amine, uh, Kim Schwitler factor, right?
- 31:43[SPEAKER_04]: He's got that opportunity.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_04]: I think he could
- 31:47[SPEAKER_04]: push the bigs very, very quickly, as you said, and I have some inside information that that is something that is, you know, moving around there.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_04]: And that he, he's a guy where he comes out of the box and debuts and has a good first outing.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_04]: Now all of a sudden, price point just blossoms, even though he's a little bit high.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_04]: So if I'm buying a picture,
- 32:10[SPEAKER_04]: to anyone who would care to listen, if I'm buying a pitcher, I'm going to invest in a pitcher who has a quick debut opportunity rather than a pitcher who is 19 down the line.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: And here's a really interesting wrinkle in that.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_03]: It makes a hundred percent sense why they would want to fast track a guy like him.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: Not only do they not have a start, a left-handed starter in the rotation, I don't think they have a left-handed starter on the 40-man unless you count Jonathan Diaz who's in AAA as a starter.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_03]: And he was kind of more of like a swingman type of guy for you.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_03]: That would be like their only left-handed starter like immediately.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_03]: And if Bryce Miller struggles or a creative trade is available for them, and he's really throwing well, I could see him up.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, here I want to be the devil's advocate here for Anderson and we can move on to the next player looking at his college stats, you know, this is the comparison scenes is last year how to 1.69 ERA Anderson had a 3.18 the year prior to that Anderson had a 3.99 I'm just this is just me CC is I bet there's a lot of respect it's a good league, right, but it's not the big leagues and the fact that he got almost a 3.2 ERA in the SEC.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: makes me go, hmm, this guy really majorly ready.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we still hurt St. Waldrup come up, you know, the first, the second year at the Braves.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: And it's, it's like, hey, welcome to Big Sun.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he got lit up.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: Now last year, he got, you know, he got his taste and he came back last year and he fits great.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it takes these guys.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: SEC's great, but it's not major leagues.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_03]: For sure, I think there's also a little bit of like if they just had the ABCA conference like for all the college coaches and like they're the whole all huge topic was just like how do we slow down the offense right now and also you know schemes is might just be one of one but to your point.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, if
- 34:01[SPEAKER_03]: If there's a little bit of like the one concern I have a cadence is the long ball like that could be something that catches up with him in the Texas League a little bit, but you know, I think this is a guy that you're kind of hoping just fast tracks has that first good big league start and then you start to get out from there, where at least he can justify his, you know, price point for per case right now or price point for a card, but I agree that in terms of ceiling there's just probably some other players that I think multiple years from now have a higher ceiling.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, his price, he's priced almost as high as anybody on the board, right?
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: Am I wrong and saying that or is he about as high as anybody on the board?
- 34:36[SPEAKER_04]: I'd say about fourth or fifth, depending on where you look.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he's kind of right behind Hernandez right now, at least ways to average an out.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_04]: But he's definitely that the guy, the pitcher, that it seems like most guys, you know, Hernandez him and then Doyle, you know, those are the three pitchers that the guys are chasing out of the product.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_04]: But again, for pitchers to be priced with batters, it's just crazy to me.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_04]: And that's thanks.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_04]: That's thanks to, that's thanks to Paul's gains.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I mean, really driving that picture market and then seeing like Camichletler and, you know, try you savage followed up last year.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_04]: But so again, arm, I want to keep kind of moving down this list here and another is a ton of deep dobs or whatever.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_04]: Is there anybody else's kind of in this top 10, right?
- 35:16[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, because we could go through every guide, prevent it is just want to be efficient.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_03]: Well, so there's there's one in the top 10 that I know Gary is going to love because he's fast as hell.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_03]: He might be like an 80 grade runner and he's really expensive.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen some areas where he's like the third or fourth highest priced, you know, chase right now.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_03]: And it's still hall with the reds.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_03]: There's a ton to love with Steel Hall, because he's again, absolutely flies, fastest guy in the class.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think has room to to grow into more impact.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to be a good defender at shortstop, but the swing is really raw.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_03]: Like he looks like an athlete up there.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_03]: That's just trying to put that on ball.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't use his name George.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, name George.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_03]: it's a little bit like that.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_03]: He also reminds me a bit of like of Lindsey, you know, who the the Dodgers took last year.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_03]: And Kevin Lindsay, like, he got hurt.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that that didn't help either.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_03]: But he's got all the potential in the world and all the upside.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_03]: But at that price point, like, I think I want a swing that I trust will translate immediately instead of a guy that probably will need to to make some adjustments.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_03]: But the thing is, if he does, it's like a
- 36:21[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's the part where the hobby is always betting upside and I get it.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_04]: But if he's right now the third highest priced at I don't I don't I don't have I don't have the stomach for it Yeah, well, so here's the thing on that is like I think about Chandler Simpson right Chandler Simpson ridiculously fast You know what I mean and and gets on base, but like does this guy steal a haul does he have any power?
- 36:43[SPEAKER_03]: I know chip Simpson has none but definitely more but okay
- 36:48[SPEAKER_03]: Now, if he doesn't change his swing, like right now is swing is just so armsy, like put back on ball, get running.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, yeah, he has room for more.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_03]: I know like some out there, like projects more.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_03]: And he already flashed a little bit more, you know, in the summer circuit.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_03]: Like he was already able to leave the yard.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_03]: I'm saying that something that, you know, I think channel didn't even really do is in college.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_03]: I think his, his only home running college actually popped out of the outfielders glove.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_03]: I just, I don't know, it could all come together and it could be a monster, but the red's also drafted a guy like this similarly and not quite as toolsy and not as much upside, but like Sam's Sephora who would end it up trading, you know, for, for a could Brian Hayes, because he just what the bat wasn't coming along.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't have a ton of trust in their hitting development, but a player has talented to steal haul could just figure it out on his own and in terms of somebody that could just break out and be this monster.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_03]: I get why the hobby price is him is that.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_03]: I just, again, I don't have the stomach for it.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: So real quick comparison because this was their draft pick from last year, I believe, Tyson Lewis, or Steel Hall, who you taken?
- 37:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's a good one.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_03]: Because Lewis might have some of the best rock power of a teenage prospect in Monoique baseball, but he also had a chase rate of 40% and swung and missed more than you want to see.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: I'd go Lewis just because of how ridiculous the power is.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_03]: Like his exevalocities are some of the best I've seen from a prep, or just from a teenage bat in a long time
- 38:10[SPEAKER_03]: the wiff and chase a little bit, but man, that's that's a tough one because they're both so enticing, but so risky.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_04]: So these guys with speed is kind of interesting.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_04]: It's like an Enrique Bradfield Chandler Simpson, like a lead level speed, you know, the main and then you have like your corners of the world, like there's a difference between somebody who's fast and somebody who is like well rounded fast.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I mean, and I think that that's what you have to kind of concentrate on when you start going after these guys is they have to have that five tools set, you know, to me, and with the guy like steel, it sounds like you're still a little bit out, you know, out there.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_04]: I'm so I've honestly, I'm going to this list and we're like five down or whatever, and I don't have anybody that excites me quite frankly, so so I'm talking to me about somebody that might excite me right now, I'm trying to find something exciting in this class, I think.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_03]: tax kill be with the Yankees talk about you know if we want to overreact a pro debuse um... because they're usually well one i didn't just some people i've talked to with teams whenever they're always like yeah pro debuse overly matter much his kids are either tired from their season or you just getting thrown into an environment they never been in normal pressure blah blah blah but when the pro debuse are really impressive
- 39:18[SPEAKER_03]: you got to take something away from that.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_03]: The 18 game sample that we got from an 18-year-old DAX killby going straight to low-A was really impressive, where he had 350 with a 900 OPS.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_03]: I watch every at that.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_03]: So patient.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_03]: Bat's a ball is there.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_03]: He's 62190.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: There's burgeoning power as well.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_03]: And I think this could be a guy that's just, you know, average, above average, tools across the board if it all comes together.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_03]: He may slide over to third, so that is one wrinkle, but he's got plenty of time to prove that he could stick a short.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_03]: But when you got a bat in the Yankee system, so you saw the one bar defect.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_03]: And I think he has a very similar, I think, very similar strengths there where he's just going to be two advance for L.A.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_03]: The Yankee's are going to quickly push him.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_03]: He might meet his match in double A or
- 40:03[SPEAKER_03]: you guys would know more about how the market reacts to that than I do, but he's not nearly as expensive from what I've seen.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's outside of the top 10 most expensive players in this class, and I think given the Yankees effect, given how impressive the nearly 20 game pro debut was and just given the skill set there, it's a little bit reminiscent of what we saw from one barred, and I think there's a lot of reasons to believe that Kilbe's going to have a really good year
- 40:27[SPEAKER_04]: So basically, we're telling our listeners, goodbye, well, it's in Jojo Parker, don't buy Dax Killby.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_04]: Remember where we're staying?
- 40:34[SPEAKER_04]: Like what we're saying, right?
- 40:35[SPEAKER_04]: So, okay, moving on, man.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_04]: Where are some other folks in this class here that are exciting?
- 40:40[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll dive into this little...
- 40:42[SPEAKER_03]: huge, huge range of outcomes here.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_03]: But I, I love Xavier Nions from the Astros.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_03]: He's just below Killby in pricing.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_03]: You have to be prepared that like his market could crater because he strikes out 35% of the time right away.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_03]: But also, there's a world where he is one of the more exciting power bats in the lower miners, like immediately as he likes to add a lot to his eyes.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_03]: like crazy wippy bat speed, really, really, really projectable, a lot, like a lot more room for strength, explosive.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_03]: And he was playing in like rural Washington.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_03]: So I think when he got in the summer circuit, there was a little bit more whiff than then teams wanted to see, which is why he's still up to a little bit further towards the back end of the first.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_03]: But if it all comes together for this guy who's pretty much clearly without a doubt, the highest upside prospect in the Astro system, that is for those who like to swing for the fences, Nions is definitely a good
- 41:35[SPEAKER_04]: So so I like that.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_04]: So so three three prospects that jump out to me, you know, we all know Gary has his Spencer Jones little bubble head doll that he sleeps just at his bed every night.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_04]: But I have always been a fan of the last Montez, the Samuel Bessayo, the Xavier Isaac profile, these guys that have the big bat.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_04]: And it's not like, you know, I remember
- 42:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, he was a guy that had a big bat on a college, but just, you know, it didn't connect like these other guys.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_04]: So you like last beside you and Xavier Isaac to me, they're in kind of a different category there.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_04]: So are you saying that that Nions is kind of in that realm with those guys.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think so.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_03]: And there's a world where like, because.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_03]: Those guys are one degrees of separation away from just striking out too much to work.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_03]: So you have to be prepared for that, but you have to also know that Nions is going to be Ashro's very forward thinking, he's going to be their priority.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_03]: They need Nions to hit, especially after just trading whatever they had left in their fondness system.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_03]: They need Nions to be a guy for them, and I think they're confident that they can get him to a point where he can hit enough.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_03]: I have 70 future.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_03]: on the power there and so like I think with that, like he has a pretty wide margin for error.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_03]: He could be a 35-fit tool guy through the first tier to and maybe be working up towards a 40-hit tool and with that power, I think it could be Las Montez-ish if it all works out with
- 43:03[SPEAKER_03]: a little bit more defensive utility.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_04]: Interesting.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_04]: Interesting.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_04]: So is there anybody in this class, you know, because we got to move on here.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_04]: We want to talk about some product like stuff.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_04]: Is there anybody else in this box arm that, you know, from the standpoint, I mean, there's how many, how many, there's 25 players 30, but we can't go through everybody.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you have I did that actually, how I did nions.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_04]: We talked about the top, you know, tear guys coming out of the product.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_04]: Is there anybody else that you want to throw some, you know, love to?
- 43:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's just sticking on the the trend of just swinging for the fences and in Compton and that wouldn't the marlin spot, you know, because I think that's a really cheap spot for people that want to just get into a break, but you know, don't have.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_03]: all the extra money that's required right now to get into some of these other team spots plenty of risk, no doubt about it.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_03]: But again, the risk is well, or when he's, you know, maybe the 28th or 29th most expensive player in the product.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_03]: The Marlons have done a really good job, I think, with these types of players, since the new regime has taken over.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_03]: And Compton, I mean, he was even in his very brief pro debut was was pop in 114, 115 mile per hour reviews.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_03]: I think
- 44:05[SPEAKER_03]: He was up to 1117.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_03]: I know the marlin's love him.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely love him.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_03]: And so that's a guy that if you're looking for a little bit of a cheaper entry point He could be fun Nick Becker with the Mariners is another guy that's what's hitter.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know that night.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm confusing with JD decks But Nick Becker is another player that I have circle to just somebody that I think high higher floor Underrated in the product.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_03]: I thought looks pretty impressive in the brief pro debut.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of projection there like 6 3 190 That I think is is a fun player to add as well
- 44:34[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and then a couple other just quick hitters.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_03]: He's he's not cheap, but Gavin Kylon with the San Francisco Giants.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_03]: I just think is a is a really solid player.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, if you wanted to target him, that would make sense.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_03]: And then I got Irish the Baltimore Orioles.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_03]: You know, in that Shane Bos trade, they traded a lot of guys that they drafted last year.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_03]: They were not going to trade.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_03]: I got Irish for a reason.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_03]: It's a blend of hit and power that I think is going to make him productive right away.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to see what the defensive side of things is.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_03]: Is he going to catch a little bit.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to play corner out field.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_03]: We'll find out.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_03]: But I really like him as well.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_03]: And then Charles Davelon, I think he's just going to have a lot of hype this year.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like just brace for it.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_03]: Dodgers prospect.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_03]: really impressive pro debut so hitter-ish not a lot of power projection, which I think is why he's cheap But if you have a Dodgers prospect who's just mashing and walking and flying through the minors I imagine that his price is gonna go up a little bit So that's probably a guy that that makes some sense and I think is probably worth chasing and then yeah, I think those are the the
- 45:29[SPEAKER_03]: kind of front runner guys that that I really like.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_03]: And then one of the that just have concerned about the price, Gavin Feeing with the Rangers, I tread lightly there.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's the fifth most expensive.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen some crazy takes on him being like the best batten in the prep class, all these different things.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_03]: I think the swing needs a lot of work.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_03]: I had him kind of further back towards the top 10 of the Rangers prospectus for us.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_03]: And in this class, I just I don't think he's
- 45:55[SPEAKER_03]: in the same conversation is the will, it's the Parker's in some of the others.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_03]: Dax Killby and he's trading that, you know, about 30% more than Killby.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Aaron, thank you always, man.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you bring so much knowledge to this.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_04]: And like I said, we could spend literally probably four episodes in cut through this.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_04]: And you're, you're an endless source.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_04]: You are a well of wisdom as it comes to all this.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_04]: So I know that we're appreciative and our, and our listeners are appreciative.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_04]: And we're going to transition now into some of these prospects who might get overlooked during a new, you know, box release.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_04]: But before we do that, I just want to thank our listeners for tuning in this board card CEO.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_04]: Guys, we built a little community here.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_04]: You guys are a part of it.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you guys for listening.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for all the questions, the feedback.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_04]: You know, please keep that coming.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_04]: Be sure to go on to wherever you're listening to these, listen on iTunes or Spotify or YouTube.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_04]: Leave some comments.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_04]: You know, give us a thumbs up, leave a review, it really helps other people to find the show.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_04]: And we're always going to be, you know, kind of increasing our scope here of bringing you guys some of the best content in the sports card hobby out there.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_04]: And we appreciate you guys listening.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_04]: So, Bubba, because I know that Bubba, it always like it loving an opportunity.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_04]: Bubba is never short on opportunities.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_04]: And Bubba is charged up coming out of the new year.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_04]: And he's looking for some some snipeage here from the deer stand and looking for some prospects that you can snipe.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_04]: While everybody else is focusing on drafts.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_04]: So let's,
- 47:14[SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of throw some names out here to arm and let's chat about some opportunities.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so we're going to wrap and fire here.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to make this fun.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_00]: We had a ton of feedback on the previous episode.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_00]: We had last week.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I had a, I probably had 15 people reach out and say, I loved last week's format.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: I loved where y'all did that either your, their higher or their lower and what is the feeling of the group on this.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to do the same thing right here.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: Now, way we all get to kind of have some feedback.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go putty quick and
- 47:40[SPEAKER_00]: We got about 20 something names here so you're gonna get a lot of this.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is this is like the mean potatoes of the guys.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm living on right now Okay, I like the names we just said over there.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're kind of like bottoming.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even care I mean, I'm like am I buying a couple and right a couple but I was like that doesn't even excite me right now I'm on these guys still because I kind of know what I've got
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: a little more, though, but, you know, that can change.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks can change, right?
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: A guy gets hot and sing the way and then being arm or boat jones and on the same guy, or I find a new Spencer Jones and thanks, James.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, we're starting off at or starting off at the top.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_00]: My guy I'm buying a yacht with, we talked about it last week, higher lower Connor Griffin and thoughts.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_03]: How much, so can you guys give me some context of, like, his price point versus, like, an established, really good, young, big, like, we're like, where does Connor Griffin
- 48:27[SPEAKER_03]: Even like a Bobby with it.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I know that's not fair, but it's at least Calibrate to me a little bit here.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_03]: So we're talking about a year Bubba.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_04]: What's up?
- 48:34[SPEAKER_04]: A year Bubba with you.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't think I don't think we want to go a year.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think we need to go like all starbreak this year with these guys.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go shorter periods.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_04]: So and in two to reiterate in case the listeners didn't hear right now, Connor Griffin is about one half of Bobby with.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_04]: So do we have, do we have upside on Connor Griffon's trade about $1,000 right now, $1,100 something like that on a base all of PSA 10 Bobby, which around 2K?
- 49:00[SPEAKER_04]: I think Connor's higher.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think he's one of the best, you know, not like Jim Calis here.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_03]: And like when Jim Calis says this, it means a little bit more.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_03]: But I feel like I've seen a lot of minor league games now over the last like six, seven years and gone to a lot of basketball, six and then.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_00]: What are we doing?
- 49:18[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to do that.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_03]: I can get away with it on this.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to spot this.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_03]: Let me try.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_03]: We have your two remain for give us.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_03]: It's all day every day.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_03]: I say six or eight now are like six or one more.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_03]: But I am at just that visual.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_03]: Like if you guys side by side next to be doing this.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_03]: We've ruined you he's got to be one of the most talented players if not the most I've seen and also just trying to compare I'm not a major leagueers that you see in person.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_03]: You know what you go to a ball game You haven't seen my trap play yet.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_03]: You obviously and his prime writer.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_03]: You haven't seen Bobby what you've seen him on TV But then you take your son to the game and you go and you say holy crap like this is this is different to see in person, right?
- 49:55[SPEAKER_03]: Griffin matches up with all those guys physically.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_03]: You talk about the size and how fast he is That's always I just never expected him to be this good
- 50:03[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's a testament to the work ethic and how open he is to fixing whatever challenges he has.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_03]: So even if he gets up to the big leagues early and has a bad month or two, if you weather the storm because he's he's human as much as it doesn't seem like it is.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_03]: Some he is sometimes.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to settle in and that's the thing is that's why I feel like if you go by all start break, I still think whole settle in by then.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe there's a little bit of a adjustment period.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_03]: But I think by the end of the season, Connor Griffin's going to be higher.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_03]: It also helps the pirates are semi-contenders now, right?
- 50:35[SPEAKER_03]: We're like, they could be in the hunt for a wild card spot.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_03]: The marlins, they weren't eliminated until game 161.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_03]: I think this, this pirate seemed better this year.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_03]: So if they're competing for a wild card and counter-griiff and sit in a stride, I think higher.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is the kid to point out, I think this is my travel and shortstop.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: I saw it when I was at the future's game.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_00]: It just kept thinking, man, this guy is my travel at shortstop.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's just what I kept thinking.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're going to see a guy.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to say he's going to come out when in D.P.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_00]: year one.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so, but this is a guy.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, doubt about it.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_00]: at the end of his season is going to be that Julio Rodriguez type hype in beyond.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, doubt about it.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm higher.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and just interviewing Connor and if Connor hears this, he's got no fear.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: You can tell it's just a silent humble, silent humble confidence.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing with Mike Trout.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_00]: You thought about those guys remind me you're a minds me of just a guy that's got he's got the confidence and he doesn't even have to say it.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_00]: You can you just see it.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 51:35[SPEAKER_03]: It's the wit cloth, too.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_03]: Bobby Whitt, it's a very similar thing.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I think where you see that, that's silent confidence and and just dynamic skill set.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, the fact that for whatever reason doesn't work, it's short.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_03]: He could go play a plus center as well.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's going to be great at short.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_03]: It's not a problem, but like no matter what, he's going to be just a really dynamic player.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_03]: So I love it.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_03]: I just, I wish it's probably hard to find some inventory now, right?
- 51:57[SPEAKER_03]: So that's when I'll connect with you guys about the
- 52:03[SPEAKER_04]: We can help you.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: The thing query.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_00]: We can help you.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: On Instagram, I have a couple.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_03]: We can help you.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think I'm going to want to get a little quicker here to get all the teams and I think he's going to, I think he's going to, I think he's got a strong shot.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_03]: I think I think if he performs in spring training, I think he's got a good chance to break camp.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: Guys, I could do this all day.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: I could do this all day when my kids are going to be eating dinner with me here soon.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_00]: So we got to go a little quicker today.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to roll it now.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about coming back into the cows come home boys.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_00]: The bone and farm were good.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to roll here.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_03]: I go higher because I think he gets called up and I think the skill set translates so well and I think people are going to really start to realize that he's got more power than they think.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_00]: Who's the comp?
- 52:46[SPEAKER_00]: Who's the major league comp?
- 52:48[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I don't know.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know because it's darn near.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_03]: It's a 70 hit tool with 55 power and elite plate discipline.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if I have it.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_03]: Is he better than gutter?
- 52:58[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's similar.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's similar.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_00]: So see, let's go, I'm going to hear about all starbreak.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to hire it all starbreak for sure.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's undervalued right now, still.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_00]: And that's hard to believe.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_00]: All right, move it along, Leo.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think I think higher.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think people are going to really start to buy into what's going on out there in no city designation athletics and Vegas as well, but I also very hit our friendly environments for him to perform in the next two years.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's going to juice the numbers up a little bit as well.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, I like to freeze to I go higher.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what the market's quite at right now, but I would imagine higher based on what, you know, the public perception is flat lower lower just because I think he's a pretty good real quick.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_03]: He's still pretty expensive than I'll go.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't checked in the last like month or so.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, he was, he did start to have a little bit of a fade of interest and you can see that.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let's almost start and kind of get that little steady decline.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's where he's at.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people are holding him.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I will, I'm going to buy Leo again.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: There will be another buying window for Leo.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm going lower while the attention's on my Gana Goldgriffin and Joe Hay and Judge and everybody else.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know what, I mean, in my opinion.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_04]: Little Matt just texted me that his base PSA 10's traded around four than 50 bucks right now.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_03]: See, I'm going to go higher.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to go higher.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_04]: I need to go.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_04]: JJ weatherhole.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think lower because he's so good.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_03]: He's such a sound player, but I think he's going to get to the big leagues and people are going to say, well, 275 with good OPP in 15 to 20 homers, I invested in and more upside than that.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_03]: And I think people might cool on a rebuilding team for the Cardinals.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a great player.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's a great career and may blossom into more.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_03]: But that's I think he's valuable because of how high the floor is, not the ceiling.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I would say he's going to be higher only because of the debut potential.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_04]: But I think the timing on weather hold is very tight.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a very tight, very strategic.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_04]: I think McGonagal and Connor have, you know, horsepower in the engine.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_04]: I think weather hold has just a little bit of hype in the tank.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_04]: And then I won't out.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going higher on JJ and I think McGonagal has pitchers of arm.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_00]: And he hates on JJ.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm going.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think JJ's got 30 home run power.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're shortened in his power a little bit, watching, you know, just how many, I mean, I'm a gotto go to it.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think both of them have 30 home run potential, which is why I like both of them a lot.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_00]: 30 home run potential at short stop, that plays boys.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_00]: If you're batting 275 or higher, the cardinals need somebody, they haven't had anybody in, they, you know, erinato days, they need somebody.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love it a whole lot.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_03]: I've heard no for them.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_03]: Does that change anything if he's point third versus I or not a 2.0 baby okay.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think the power is going to be the big the big wrinkle there and he's got some she's got some pop, but if it's 18 to 20 versus 25 to 30 I'm just curious how the hobby responds big time difference there that the power is there whether whole goes nuclear if he stays at 18 to 20 he's not going to he's not going to I'll say lower if it's 18 to 20.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's 30.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to get the love.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_00]: All right, moving on.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_03]: I go lower.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_03]: I hope I'm wrong, wide range of outcomes here.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_03]: You could also have the best season in the minor leagues if he puts it all together, but he's got to find a way to hit the ball in the air more consistently.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_03]: I think his swing mechanics are a little bit off.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's a flat swing and I think that the short stop thing may come to an end in my slide over to third.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_03]: So.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to go lower.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_04]: I'm thinking lower just because he was he was hyped up so much, but at the same time hit the last the last comp on his PSA 10 base auto was like 250 bucks.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_04]: And so that seems pretty cheap already.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, again, it's it's flat to lower to me.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: Ham's on a heater today.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: Ham's bringing some good insight here and I love a ham because your T and me up.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_00]: wallcott is one of those.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say higher on the lower levels because he's too cheap.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like he is when you're seeing 499s, where they're at right now, I'm buying the 499s of a wallcott because they're too cheap.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_00]: Just like Walker Jenkins, the lower end, the higher end of wallcott, I'm going to say significantly lower.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't make his oranges versus 499s, and all that there's too much of a disparity.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_03]: or trying to retire off the wall because I get it.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_03]: He's is sealing is so exorbitantly high.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, his last two gold sale for 5,800 and 5,000 on a PSA 10.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, his golds are, you know, like to your point.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_04]: If a PSA 10,
- 57:24[SPEAKER_04]: Connor Griffin okay at base is doing a thousand bucks wallcotts do in 250 a Connor PSA 10 gold is around 10k Sebastian wallcotts around 5k so there's half the value there versus a quarter of the value on the bases so Gary great point is finding the margins within the different parallel colors of the base auto to the color autos and where you can find an upside win.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yep Cole Emerson this guy's getting high flight crazy the last month
- 57:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who's doing it.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody's done a really good job of wiping them.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's arm.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_00]: And we're buying in.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_03]: Arm said me.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_03]: I honestly, I think maybe me.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_03]: I don't actually underestimate our impact on the card market, but we've done a really good job of basically any court Emerson Clip from the podcast going viral.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_03]: It also helps that we have a Mariners podcast on our network that will co-post that court Emerson Clip with.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_03]: Where I'm just talking about why I think he's a top five prospecting to game.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_03]: So it might be me.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_03]: I love him.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_03]: There's no inventory out there.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_03]: I've tried.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_03]: I've got it.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_03]: He is I put out a piece and I this also probably helped this is one of the most red pieces I think I've worked on this past year He changed from a leg kick to a toe tap on June 13th or something like that
- 58:41[SPEAKER_03]: And then I pulled the numbers from June 14th onward, and he was one of the best hitters in the minor weeks, had an OPS over 900 coming from AA and AAA.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_03]: The big change was that he was able to use his base a lot more, it stayed back, and all of the sudden he cut his ground ball right by 15 percent, he's destroying baseballs, and he looks like a guy that can now be their answer third base.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_03]: And it looks like they're not going to go for agency route for their answer there.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_03]: and then eventually takes over a short stop potentially when JP Crawford leaves.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_03]: I love the makeup, the blend of hit and power and then the team.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_03]: I think he is a great buy, but I didn't realize how much the market is is picked up.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_03]: So depending on how much it's picked up, I still think he's higher.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_04]: So, refractor PSA 10 right now.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_04]: Last sale was five, 25 is a best offer by it now.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_04]: Before that, it was four, 10 best offer by it now.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_04]: Hasn't had an auction sale of that refractor since October and it did $420.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_03]: It was just sitting on it, huh?
- 59:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so so here's the thing with cold Emerson is as I think it's up, but he's a guy like weatherhole.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_04]: I think there's a window right there, right?
- 59:42[SPEAKER_04]: So if the hype builds into a guy like this coming out of spring training, a lot of hype, there's prices to run, but then again, the stability in the bigs is the question mark after that first year.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_04]: So I say up, but again, my exit strategy is quick.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the hype right now, a little mad at him to our list.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: Add code, you're your sit back there.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_00]: Add code, Emerson to the list.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm arm just sold me out of even more.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_00]: I already saw the hype building.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_00]: Or I'm just building stream hype again.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_00]: Put code Emerson on our list.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm higher.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Walker Jenkins, Walker Jenkins.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_00]: What's he price that same thing?
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm going to call him like Sebastian Walcott 2.0 in a way.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_00]: His prices on the low end are low.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: His prices on the higher end are high.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_03]: I think slightly up then it's just a matter of health for him and that's the part that I just I just don't know, but he's an opportunity to be good for this year is he called up on the offer again.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, 100%.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_03]: So I say slightly higher.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_04]: Listen, Walker just got married this past weekend.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_04]: I'm pretty sure or the weekend before that.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_04]: So my man's got to put bread on the table.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_04]: He's now got a wife.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_04]: He did provide for.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't have an opportunity.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_04]: He's got to get going.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_04]: So Walker Jenkins is up and I'll tell you this.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_04]: I'll tell you this right now, boys.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_04]: If if if we just bought a Walker Jenkins orange for what a Sebastian walk out gold is selling for give me Walker Jenkins.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_00]: give me what you're thinking about day.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_00]: And let's go.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's going up.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's going up.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think people bounce.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_00]: They've been sleeping.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'll walk our Jenkins for the last 18 months.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_00]: They want to always injury preprone when the dude balls out.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_00]: He's he's going to go higher.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm I'm saying higher, especially when he gets the call.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_00]: So higher there.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_00]: This next one is
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_00]: a whole team of players.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm listing five players and we're going to hit on a real quick.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go one at a time.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_00]: They're all Dodgers prospects.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_00]: There's a whole bunch of them.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to start real quick.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_00]: DePaul, a higher lower all start game.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_03]: I think the hobby is cool.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm a little bit so I'll go slightly higher.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say lower, I think he's falling off.
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say flat, I'm going to say he's flat, because I think he's, you like, last month has, I think last month has with speed in my opinion, he's got more speed than people want to get them credit for.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it dude silently steals what 20, 30 bags.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he gets no credit for that.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, and he's a Dodger.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_00]: I like him like a lower yard on Alvarez with little speed.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_00]: I like him.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'm going to go slightly up.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_00]: Zai here, hope.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_03]: There was it was up and down.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to slightly slightly up because I think he cuts the whiff down a little bit.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'm cheering for this one.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, I want to I want to see it.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm going to say, yes, desire.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_04]: Believe in you.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_04]: Good job.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say this right now.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_00]: I believe in this is my new Spencer Jones.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_00]: I believe in Zahir Ho, more than I believe that his current value is
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_00]: is the most under-appreciated player in all of mine on League Baseball right now for ways of ability is in that organization.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_00]: The power, the speed, the player.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's got it all.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's got junior came in era of flair.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the power.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the speed.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_00]: I watched him play at the future's game.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_00]: People are sleeping on Zahirho.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_00]: They're really, really are.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_00]: That guy's going to make us a lot of money one day.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: Little Matt, make sure he's on the list.
- 1:02:53[SPEAKER_00]: Quintero, Edward Quintero,
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_03]: higher as well.
- 1:02:59[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the Dodgers just they got guys, man.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think DePaul is probably more neutral now.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_03]: And I think I think Kintaro goes higher because I think he's going to stick in center.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to get his backs.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_03]: He's improved the slug.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_03]: I go, I go, higher.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_03]: I'm I'm going to say lower.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_04]: I just, I think it's so hard to sustain the kind of height that he's had.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_04]: It's he had that much.
- 1:03:18[UNKNOWN]: I
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_04]: Quintere was a big chase.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, then I'll say same.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_03]: I'll say.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's flat.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I mean, I'll go flat.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's higher.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's if he does what he did last year again, which he's done it at every level and he's actually extremely cheap still compared to a lot of other players.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_00]: And if he truly does break into that top.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_00]: 20 range, which I think he will.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's to cheap.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's I think he's way too cheap honestly.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I don't have much room more to buy more of him because I own almost all of his guards.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_00]: But if I could, I would because I think he's, I think he's going to be a superstar in a major league.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_00]: When you look at his underlying stats, Arum, that dude's just getting it done.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_00]: And he came out of nowhere.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I like him a lot.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_00]: Moving on, Mike Cerroda.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_03]: Handwood, handwood, hi A, great.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_03]: Two, handwood, hi A, 32 games didn't miss a beat there.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'll say, I'll say slightly higher for reference.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_04]: Terrod Quintera's refractor PSA 10 last Comps 475.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_04]: We said that, you know, what was it?
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_04]: Colt Emerson was 525 and then Walker Jenkins was like 600.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_04]: So that's kind of give you a take in Emerson.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_04]: Take a Quintera, take a Jenkins similar price points.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_04]: Which ones do you think?
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_04]: Which where's your buy?
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_04]: Emerson.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_00]: Quintera, I think Quintera is an all star game starter in three years, centerfield, the Dodgers.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's go move it moving on, Sarota.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Sarota.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_00]: They got so many guys.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not doing the most.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_03]: It is to me he comes back from the, because to me he comes back from the injury.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_03]: He might have,
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_03]: The side from Zayr, I hope you might have the highest upside of those guys that you all, yeah, you listed like Sarota, his ex-evilocities are comical.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like that I don't know what the public like the public type is, but like privately you talk to the scouts of other teams or whatever, like this is the guy that gets the most rave reviews from just the 159 games he played before injury.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_03]: Sarota, I think, comes to what he may have the biggest price leap depending on where he's starting now.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_03]: The biggest price leap of any of the guys that you mentioned.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, his, his refractor, the last sale in his refractor PSA 10 was like 300 bucks.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_03]: So he's, I think by far, the most, the biggest leap of this group.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_00]: Slow that power, a pro, everything.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_00]: Five asterics, little Matt, five asterics, get him on the list, start buying them today, baby.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_00]: But we're, I've got some Mike's road.
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have enough.
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_00]: I've kind of been sleeping on him, but I'm your, you're pushing me over the top.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_00]: I love that he's a Dodger.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's got speed to the beginning.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_00]: I love guys.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_00]: I have speed and power.
- 1:05:43[SPEAKER_00]: He's got both.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's got both.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's got both.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's got both.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's got both.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's got both.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_03]: He's got both.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_03]: He's got four percent.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_00]: What was that?
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_00]: Hard hit rate of 54%.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, yeah, buy more math, buy one anymore, we need more, a lot more.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right, moving on last guy the Dodgers here to mention, email Morales.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_00]: People hoard this guy like crazy.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_00]: I've been trying to get a hold of them.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_00]: People hoard them like crazy.
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_00]: Thoughts on a meal Morales.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_03]: He proved me a little bit wrong.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_03]: Not sure I've been lower on him in general.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_03]: I still think he goes down.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_04]: for what you just said like I think the expectations are very high on the guy that still hasn't played he barely played above the complex last year and I know he's young but like there's still a lot of things that he needs to prove back to ball wise think there's some underlying with there I go I go lower yeah I mean I'm sitting there looking at his it's a tin basaltos like one seventy five to two hundred like I think he's gonna float right there until he does something spectacular and in that organization he's gonna have to do a lot so I'm not a fan I'm going flat
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's, I think he's a guy that's got a long time window ahead of them, especially with all those other guys ahead of them, but I do like him long term.
- 1:06:44[SPEAKER_03]: All right, move along Louise Peña, higher.
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think people could on him after he, you know, cooled off a little bit in the longest season he's ever played in his life by a mile and also battled some injuries.
- 1:06:56[SPEAKER_03]: The Dodger, or the Dodger, the Brewers don't see him as that far off from Hazel's mod A.
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_03]: And I know mod A finished sprinted through the finish line a little bit more, but these are both kids that were way too young for the levels they were playing.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care that he had a buck 68 and that he has an 18 year old, I just don't.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_03]: on the fact that he's even there, I think is really valuable experience for him.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_03]: I think I think higher, he's going to grab 50 plus bags next year.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to, the thing is going to elevate more and if he can, he's going to hit 20 homers too, especially if he can get to double-able oxy, where there's a jet stream, that's a left.
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so you've got a, you've got a 499 of his and that 435 range.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_04]: I definitely see upside there, you know, the main people kind of know what they're dealing with, so his price point reflects that.
- 1:07:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, slightly.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, so slightly higher as well.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_04]: I just think he's young, he's got a ton of time, he's got that kind of swag, he's got that international flair, he's got that, you know, so, yes, I like a guy like this, from a hobby perspective.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so I'm gonna go super rapid fire now from here, because we're way over on time, this has been a phenomenal episode, I love this part, I could do this all day, I love this.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna do two players of the time, okay?
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_00]: Franklin, areas, George, Lumbard.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go lower lower.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_00]: I say, I would feel flat on those guys right now.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_00]: A lot to prove.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_00]: I just have a question for arms that I'll have an opinion on either really on their market.
- 1:08:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Lombard, which one is the better player long term?
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_03]: Lombard, I like Arias, but, you know, he's very hit tool driven.
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't think there's a ton off of that Lombard.
- 1:08:21[SPEAKER_03]: I think I'm less confident in the lower there because like he's physical.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_03]: He can start to grow in a more power.
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_03]: I just think he's a little bit more of a project than the Yankees accounted for.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_03]: And they pushed him a little too quick.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_03]: But I think Lumbar is going to grow into a really, really good player.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_03]: So for just this year, I think well, or if you told me three years, I think higher.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_00]: Look, uh, next to a Miller, Bryce Reiner.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_03]: Higher, higher.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_03]: I love the both.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_03]: There's whiff risk with Reiner.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_03]: A Miller could be the big leagues, especially if they sign but shit, I think they're going to move potentially boom and stop.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to need another right-hand abat, essentially the play third, I think Aiden Miller, another guy wrote a piece, huge finish to the year, blend of hit power and speed and go to approach.
- 1:09:00[SPEAKER_03]: I'm in on him and then Rainer just he got hurt.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_03]: He was on the cusp of I think really solidifying himself as a top 50 prospect in the game.
- 1:09:06[SPEAKER_03]: I like both of those guys higher.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_00]: My question is, I like both of them too.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Reiner's one of my top five favorite guys.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's just because he's so cheap because of the injury.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's starting to get elevated.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's starting to catch up to that a little bit.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_00]: I bought a ton why I was down.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_00]: My question is what happened to a Miller?
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_00]: What happened second half to get him?
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_00]: moving.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_03]: He wanted to just make some subtle adjustments with his approach started to just be on time more consistently and hit 400 against fastballs from the all-star break onward.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_03]: So he just he was I think just a little tardy fixed that and the rest was kind of history for him.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't miss the fastball.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_00]: All right, moving on.
- 1:09:44[SPEAKER_00]: Rainy El Rodriguez and Charlie Condon.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think holds and condens weird because he's going to be an Albuquerque, and like, you know, I think I might be able to sneak one out now, but Curkey.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_03]: So he's going to go nuts out there.
- 1:09:57[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like, so that's my, that's my one thing.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_03]: I think you could hit a ton of homers.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's going to get to the bigs and struggles.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_03]: So as Ham was alluding to exit strategy there, but I think there is room to run because he's going to put up video game numbers in Albuquerque.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think lower on Reniel and I think Condon is as he's going to see a pump and then you get out get out he's so he's dirt he's done is you right now, guys he's dirty like he's too cheap like I know you're a George boy I know you're a Georgia boy.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just telling you right now that you can the dude can mash I don't know what his career is going to be but he can mash and he's too cheap like for a guy that can hit to his level he's too cheap right now me when you can buy.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you buy $499 for $75 or something wrong there for what he's gonna do, like you just said in New Mexico.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_00]: My question is, why does Rodrigues flatter down?
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_00]: Because I've been hearing Bassayo type comps to him.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's why, because I think he's a really good player and I like him, but I think he's just not Samuel Bassayo.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_03]: And I just, I think his margin for error is not as wide as a guy like Bassayo who can leave the yard foul pulled a foul pulled by accident.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_03]: Is he like Eduardo Tate?
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I would say cut from some more, more polished and better basketball and that's why he's moving quicker, but I think he's closer to that than a basiah who, yeah, I mean, Genders a reason why he's already making, you know, close to nine figures before they even really play in games.
- 1:11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Last two guys, Tyson Lewis, which we talked about earlier, and then Joe Schwarr, Gonzalez.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_03]: I would say lower, just because I'm still a little concerned about the lift and chase.
- 1:11:32[SPEAKER_03]: It's just too too high and higher.
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_03]: really polished for his age.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's going to be the top prospect comfortable in that giant system once electric graduates.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_03]: But I've I've a concern to you can't sustain a 40% chase and 75% in zone contact rate at the lower levels like Lewis, but the eggs of losses are shown saying it's worth a shot, but I go lower on Lewis higher on Joshua.
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'm sitting there looking at just war and I'm looking at his price point PSA 10 base auto 200 bucks.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_04]: I see some run there.
- 1:12:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not big on Lewis.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be the at contrarian here.
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going Lewis higher Joe Swar lower.
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a lot of those guys in the lower levels get forgotten a little bit Tyson Lewis continues to come out and hit more bombs people love the long ball chicks dig the long ball set of prospectors.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_00]: and I think you can hit the long ball and people are going to like it.
- 1:12:24[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to hire for him, and a little lower for Joe Swar.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to wrap the episode up here, boys.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to wrap it up.
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_00]: Five, but we're going to go five pitchers are a rapid fire.
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_00]: If you had only five pitchers, you could put money in.
- 1:12:36[SPEAKER_00]: That'll prospects right now.
- 1:12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Who would
- 1:12:38[SPEAKER_00]: they'd be.
- 1:12:39[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_03]: I think Harley and Susana is one that I just wasn't as like an injury that I don't think you can come back from with the lat.
- 1:12:47[SPEAKER_03]: So I like I like that more than like a shoulder, you know, more in the rotator labrum thing that didn't happen there.
- 1:12:54[SPEAKER_03]: So I like him in that respect that to bounce back from that.
- 1:12:57[SPEAKER_03]: I'll go Robbie Snelling, I think it's another guy that is going to have a clear rotation spot for the Marlons pretty soon, and probably early in the season right after he can't accumulate a full year of service time would be my general guest there.
- 1:13:09[SPEAKER_03]: I like gauge Shump with the athletics.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's going to get an opportunity to pitch in that rotation at some point this year, and I'm a big fan of his Jackson Wiggins.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_03]: I know his price has gone up, but he is by far the best pitching prospect in the cup system, and I think they could do the
- 1:13:23[SPEAKER_03]: fast track to the bullpen to help the playoff run this year and then transition into a starter next year and then I'll go for the last pick, Brody Hopkins with the race.
- 1:13:32[SPEAKER_03]: The numbers were great.
- 1:13:33[SPEAKER_03]: He's got to cut the walk right, but I'll take a shot on a guy that has ace potential, you know, if you can just find the zone a little bit.
- 1:13:39[SPEAKER_00]: All right, last segment of the day, each guy or you start at him, give a guy loaded up.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'll get a guy loaded up.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't matter if it's prospect, major league baseball, give us one wild card pick to wrap the show up today, boys.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_00]: One guy, you're like, you know what?
- 1:13:54[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't mentioned them.
- 1:13:56[SPEAKER_00]: We might have not talked about them last week.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_00]: We may not talk about them today.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe we did talk about them today.
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Give me your favorite wild card pick.
- 1:14:04[SPEAKER_00]: And this can't be a guy that's a countergriff and, you know, it's got to be somebody a little that's either kind of gotten forgotten or that's under the radar a little bit.
- 1:14:11[SPEAKER_04]: You go firsthand.
- 1:14:12[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to throw my boy Xavier Isaac out there.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_04]: I almost say Isaac had little his surgery last year.
- 1:14:18[SPEAKER_04]: He's got the power.
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_04]: He was a first round draft pick.
- 1:14:21[SPEAKER_04]: He dealt with injuries in high school.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_04]: I feel like he's been kind of a
- 1:14:25[SPEAKER_04]: a thorough bread stuck in a stable for a little bit.
- 1:14:28[SPEAKER_04]: He wants to run.
- 1:14:29[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's got the chip on his shoulder a little bit to Xavier Isaac buddy.
- 1:14:33[SPEAKER_04]: I'm pulling for you man.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_04]: Let's go.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_03]: I love that tick.
- 1:14:36[SPEAKER_03]: I that might have been been mine.
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_03]: If if you didn't take it there, that's one of my favorites.
- 1:14:40[SPEAKER_03]: And then.
- 1:14:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'll go AJ, you know, I think he's got to hit for more power, obviously, but I think he's going to leap frog jet Williams in the pecking order here.
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_03]: I think a lot of teams see it that way.
- 1:14:50[SPEAKER_03]: Anyways, I know I do based on our rankings.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_03]: And if you can grow into a little bit more pop, the speed is elite.
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_03]: The bat's a ball is great.
- 1:14:57[SPEAKER_03]: The approach is great.
- 1:14:58[SPEAKER_03]: You can play pretty much every position.
- 1:15:00[SPEAKER_03]: I love AJ, you know, in the mat's org.
- 1:15:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give you all two because I like breaking rules.
- 1:15:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm going to give you one prospect.
- 1:15:05[SPEAKER_00]: A prospect is Ryan Walshmit.
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm absolutely all in on Ryan Walshmit.
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_00]: When you look at the batting average, you look at the power.
- 1:15:13[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the steels.
- 1:15:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's got it all and he's silently like a.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_00]: poor man's version of Kevin McGonagall and if as an outfielder and I really, really, really like why Ryan Walshman, I mean, the dude right when you look at his stats last year, 289, 18 bombs, 78 RBH 29 steals, give me Ryan Walshman at his current values.
- 1:15:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's got forgotten guy.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's dirt cheap and I love him.
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_00]: And my maybe I don't want to call up to.
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, really.
- 1:15:41[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 1:15:41[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to go ahead.
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_03]: I was just we had him on the call up and he one of the best personalities and like make up guys.
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_03]: I've we've had on I've all been on that on that side of things with him to any day of the week.
- 1:15:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm I'm hoping I'm hoping I'm right there because I really like him last guy for me is and I'm going to go back to the well here.
- 1:15:59[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a guy that I was not on at his release and I've been waiting for the opportunity to buy him in the opportunity is now before the season starts.
- 1:16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Dylan Cruz.
- 1:16:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doubling down.
- 1:16:09[SPEAKER_00]: The guy was a top prospect, top pick, had an injury riddled season last year.
- 1:16:14[SPEAKER_00]: You talk about a guy that's got power, speed, flare, flash, and the growing team that's forgotten.
- 1:16:21[SPEAKER_00]: Dylan Cruz, if I'm right, could be five to ten times higher by the end of the city.
- 1:16:27[SPEAKER_00]: He could be literally a 500 to a 1,000% return if he hit me meets his potential.
