- 0:00Speaker 1: To Mark Simone on, Hey, we got a lot to
- 0:08Speaker 1: get to this hour. So Mom, Donnie, how did this happen?
- 0:16Speaker 1: How did we have stuck with this crazy guy with
- 0:19Speaker 1: angry acceptance speech like we've never seen before. He held
- 0:24Speaker 1: a press conference yesterday.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I think there are a lot of voters for whom
- 0:27Speaker 2: the trust comes from the actions that you actually take.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Many have, like you know, I've understandably been disappointed by
- 0:34Speaker 2: politics and the promises that have been made by many
- 0:36Speaker 2: before me. Now my opportunity is actually to deliver it.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Now, that's one of the secrets. He looks good, he's
- 0:41Speaker 1: got a nice smile, and he talks very fast. You know,
- 0:44Speaker 1: when you talk like this and you keep going in
- 0:45Speaker 1: and talk very quickly, people think you must be very smart. Otherwise,
- 0:48Speaker 1: how would you talk so fast if you weren't that smart?
- 0:50Speaker 1: As opposed to Andrew Cuomo, who talks like this, but
- 0:56Speaker 1: he's a great salesman, can he actually get anything done?
- 0:58Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to show the power of an example
- 1:01Speaker 2: here in New York City, an example of what it
- 1:03Speaker 2: means to not just diagnose the despair in working people's
- 1:06Speaker 2: lives is the cost of living crisis, but to deliver
- 1:08Speaker 2: on it. And that's the contrast between myself and President Trump.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, see you use those kind of words. He was
- 1:14Speaker 1: going to diagnose the despair of the cost of living crisis.
- 1:17Speaker 1: It just sounds good. But you know, this is a
- 1:20Speaker 1: frightening time for him because this is the first time
- 1:22Speaker 1: he's ever going to actually have a job. This is
- 1:24Speaker 1: the first job on his resume. I know he was
- 1:26Speaker 1: in the legislature, but that assembly, that's like a part time.
- 1:29Speaker 1: It's not a real job. He's in the Puerto Rico
- 1:34Speaker 1: right now, believe it or not. Every year the Democrats
- 1:37Speaker 1: here in New York, the Democrats have some sort of
- 1:39Speaker 1: I don't know what you call it. I guess they
- 1:41Speaker 1: would claim it's a conference, a convention. I don't know
- 1:44Speaker 1: what the hell it is. It's in Puerto Rico. Every
- 1:46Speaker 1: year they all go down there for a few days,
- 1:48Speaker 1: a whole weekend in Puerto Rico. They give it some
- 1:51Speaker 1: fancy business like name, but it's really just wasting a
- 1:56Speaker 1: lot of money in Puerto Rico. But what it really
- 1:58Speaker 1: is all the lobbyists flying down there, all the big
- 2:02Speaker 1: lobbyists and donors, and they mingle and mix with these
- 2:06Speaker 1: politicians and all kinds of Weasley deals are made down there,
- 2:09Speaker 1: so Mom Donnie has flown down there to be a
- 2:13Speaker 1: part of all of this. Now, a lot of business leaders, billionaires,
- 2:17Speaker 1: all these CEOs, they've been quietly reaching out to him.
- 2:20Speaker 1: There have been a lot of meetings, conversations. He's trying
- 2:24Speaker 1: to make peace with them. They're trying to start some
- 2:27Speaker 1: kind of relationship with him, you know. Whatever. There's a
- 2:29Speaker 1: new mayor, the billionaires all have to get to know him.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And what they usually do. The billionaire calls around to
- 2:37Speaker 1: see who knows this guy, who can set up a
- 2:39Speaker 1: lunch or dinner or a phone call, and usually they'll
- 2:42Speaker 1: find somebody they know who knows them and can arrange
- 2:45Speaker 1: the luncheon. If not, every billionaire has lobbyists on the payroll.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Big lobbyists are usually very well connected, democratic city hall types,
- 2:55Speaker 1: and they arrange the meeting and then you meet with
- 2:57Speaker 1: the guy and you try to you know, start a
- 3:00Speaker 1: relationship with him. Now, some of them were easier than others.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Built Deblasia was the easiest because he was looking for
- 3:10Speaker 1: looking for billionaires. He would show up at the Al Smith,
- 3:13Speaker 1: Dion or wherever it was where every billionaire in town
- 3:16Speaker 1: would be there he'd just walk right up to me.
- 3:17Speaker 1: You have my cell number, right, No, well, let me
- 3:21Speaker 1: give it to you. They know what that man. You
- 3:23Speaker 1: call me anytime you need anything, We'll be calling you
- 3:26Speaker 1: if we need donations. So you can start that kind
- 3:28Speaker 1: of relationship with here's more a mom dohnny businesses.
- 3:31Speaker 2: The city's inability to provide childcare means that businesses often
- 3:35Speaker 2: have to provide stipends for that childcare. Right now, the
- 3:38Speaker 2: absence of universal childcare means that a family will pay
- 3:41Speaker 2: around twenty two dollars a year.
- 3:44Speaker 1: See, it sounds very smart, very smart with his stipends
- 3:46Speaker 1: and all that, and it's very sounds very academic about it.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And one good thing about academic they can never actually
- 3:51Speaker 1: make it work in the real world. But again, the
- 3:56Speaker 1: socialism stuff. The end result of socialism. Whenever they try
- 3:59Speaker 1: this stuff, it screws up the poor even more and
- 4:04Speaker 1: it really helps the rich. Nobody profits more in these
- 4:07Speaker 1: socialist things than the rich, the oligarchs. That's where that
- 4:10Speaker 1: term comes to. The oligarchs. They all came from these
- 4:12Speaker 1: socialist places. You know, like the inflation is coming down
- 4:17Speaker 1: slowly but surely, prices are dropping on everything, but they'll say,
- 4:21Speaker 1: and this is what Democrats did in the election. You know,
- 4:23Speaker 1: they may say the price of this is down, and
- 4:25Speaker 1: the price of that, but healthcare universities that's way up. Well,
- 4:29Speaker 1: price at universities has nothing to do with inflation. It's
- 4:33Speaker 1: a whole separate thing. And the price of healthcare all
- 4:35Speaker 1: has to do with the government taking it over and
- 4:37Speaker 1: making it inefficient. And you know that sort of healthcare
- 4:42Speaker 1: is government run inefficiency regulations that drives up that cost.
- 4:46Speaker 1: It's not a direct result of inflation. But how the
- 4:50Speaker 1: hell did Mom Danny do this? Mom Donnie came out
- 4:55Speaker 1: of nowhere. He was an absolutely zero in the polls,
- 4:59Speaker 1: absolutely the zero. He put together a coalition. A lot
- 5:05Speaker 1: of it was young young Brooklyn, the gentrifiers, you know,
- 5:09Speaker 1: the queen, all these hipster young Brooklyn people, and there's
- 5:13Speaker 1: a ton of the millions of them, and then a
- 5:16Speaker 1: lot of the working class of Queens, the poor of queens.
- 5:19Speaker 1: He put them together and just harnessed all this. But
- 5:23Speaker 1: there were also a lot of backroom deals that followed.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You know, way back then, in the beginning, this is
- 5:28Speaker 1: early in the year, he started arranging meetings with the CEOs,
- 5:33Speaker 1: intimate phone calls all sorts of things. There's a woman
- 5:36Speaker 1: named Kathy Wilde who runs the whatever they call that
- 5:38Speaker 1: partnership from New York. It's like a club for CEOs,
- 5:43Speaker 1: all the billionaires and CEOs. It supposedly does some kind
- 5:47Speaker 1: of work. Nobody knows what the hell they do. And
- 5:49Speaker 1: the people that worked there overpay themselves like crazy. But
- 5:53Speaker 1: she made a lot of the introductions. She introduced them
- 5:56Speaker 1: a lot of people. They had a series of events
- 6:00Speaker 1: and then billionaires got to know him. And it wasn't
- 6:03Speaker 1: that he was trying to win them over, become friends
- 6:06Speaker 1: and them. He's just trying to calm them down a little.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Then all these young people that got behind Mom Donnie,
- 6:12Speaker 1: he knew how to harness it. And the problem with
- 6:15Speaker 1: the guy like Cuomo, he's still in the nineteen seventies
- 6:18Speaker 1: with bumper stickers and buttons that you wear. Well, that
- 6:20Speaker 1: doesn't mean anything one thing about all these young people
- 6:22Speaker 1: they want a lot of them have a loneliness to them.
- 6:26Speaker 1: You know, they are kind of isolated and they're always
- 6:28Speaker 1: on their phone. Everything is online. They socialize on TikTok
- 6:33Speaker 1: and stuff like that, but not in person. So Mom
- 6:35Speaker 1: Donnie started to create events instead of hanging out to
- 6:39Speaker 1: bumper stickers and campaign buttons. He did a citywide scavenger hunt.
- 6:44Speaker 1: He did a soccer tournament Coney Island, all sorts of
- 6:47Speaker 1: events where people showed up and it created a whole
- 6:49Speaker 1: social life for them. It also got them organized into
- 6:52Speaker 1: a movement and they became volunteers. He recruited a lot
- 6:56Speaker 1: of people that way. While he's doing that, he does
- 6:59Speaker 1: that CEO charm Offensive met with a lot of people
- 7:04Speaker 1: black Rock, Blackstone, all these hedge funds. You're not supposed
- 7:08Speaker 1: to know this, but while he was wooing all the
- 7:14Speaker 1: young crazy socialist types, he's meeting with all the CEOs privately,
- 7:20Speaker 1: a lot of them started to develop relations with him. Now, Mom,
- 7:24Speaker 1: Donnie is a child of two very rich people, comes
- 7:28Speaker 1: from a rich family, so he's quite at ease with
- 7:31Speaker 1: all the billionaires and the CEOs, quite natural at ease
- 7:35Speaker 1: with them. And they kind of saw that and they
- 7:36Speaker 1: liked that. Now, the problem was Kathy Hokeel was against him.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Hokel was going to do everything to stop him. She
- 7:43Speaker 1: did not like him. But after one of those parades,
- 7:47Speaker 1: they went back to the hotel where everybody was headquartering,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and he met privately with Hokele, and he apologized to her.
- 7:55Speaker 1: It was the City Pride parade. He apologized to her
- 7:57Speaker 1: from some things he said, really apologizing, so he kind
- 8:01Speaker 1: of won her over. She was quite surprised, so she
- 8:04Speaker 1: said she would consider endorsing him. She said, I'd like
- 8:07Speaker 1: you to keep Jessica Tish. I want to endorse you,
- 8:10Speaker 1: but you got to agree to keep Jessica Tish And
- 8:13Speaker 1: he said he would certainly consider that and made it
- 8:15Speaker 1: sound like he would do that. Then his harsh criticism
- 8:20Speaker 1: criticism of Israel made it impossible to win over Bloomberg.
- 8:25Speaker 1: He tried Michael Bloomberg. They met at Bloomberg's Midtown headquarters
- 8:31Speaker 1: and it was a good hour. They kind of debated
- 8:34Speaker 1: management styles. Bloomberg, you know, Bloomberg was mayor twelve years,
- 8:38Speaker 1: tried to tell him some things about it. But as
- 8:41Speaker 1: much as he tried to get along with Bloomberg, Bloomberg
- 8:44Speaker 1: kind of saw through him and kind of saw that
- 8:47Speaker 1: he wasn't really listening to all this sage advice Bloomberg
- 8:50Speaker 1: was giving. So Bloomberg got behind Cuomo. Like a lot
- 8:55Speaker 1: of these billionaires, they decided Cuomo is the guy. Now
- 8:57Speaker 1: Cuomo was a disaster in the primaries. He was the
- 9:01Speaker 1: worst debater in two debates. He was just awful, and
- 9:04Speaker 1: he was the worst campaign. Hardly did anything, very few interviews,
- 9:09Speaker 1: no rallies, very few speeches, the lazy, outdated old campaign.
- 9:14Speaker 1: But Bloomberg kept back in him. And then there came
- 9:18Speaker 1: a point where Bloomberg privately told people he was done
- 9:21Speaker 1: with Cuomo, said I wasted eight million on this guy
- 9:24Speaker 1: in the primary. He just was awful, awful. He just said,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I just threw away eight million on this guy who
- 9:33Speaker 1: can't win.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Well.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Then he met with Mam Donnie again and he kind
- 9:36Speaker 1: of got angry at mam Donni. Mom Donnie said things
- 9:39Speaker 1: about Israel he didn't like. So Bloomberg decided to go
- 9:42Speaker 1: back at the end last couple of weeks to Cuomo.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Bloomberg wrote a checks for five million dollars to two
- 9:49Speaker 1: big super packs to attack Mam Donni like crazy and
- 9:53Speaker 1: try to win it for a Cuomo. But this was
- 9:56Speaker 1: like six days before election day started running all those commercials.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It was way too late, and Cuomo didn't help himself
- 10:03Speaker 1: at all. He was just caught himself together the last week.
- 10:07Speaker 1: But that was about it. Hey, we'll talk to Curtis
- 10:10Speaker 1: later this hour. We'll go over all of this. Now,
- 10:12Speaker 1: Curtis being in the race did not interfere with Cuomo.
- 10:16Speaker 1: If Cuomo had gotten every single Curtis voter, he still
- 10:20Speaker 1: would have lost by three points. So he had nothing
- 10:23Speaker 1: to do with Curtis. But we'll talk to Curtis later.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Now turns out that Curtis talked to him. I'm downey
- 10:28Speaker 1: after the election. We'll ask him about that. Are we
- 10:32Speaker 1: done with Cuomo once and for all? Everybody's hoping we
- 10:34Speaker 1: never have to deal with Cuomo again. Wall Street Journals,
- 10:39Speaker 1: big article, half a century, fifty years of the Cuomos
- 10:42Speaker 1: in New York comes to an end. Mario Cuomo for
- 10:45Speaker 1: all those years, Andrew Cuomo by his side, his campaign
- 10:50Speaker 1: director'll be on the sidelines. Now he'll go back, maybe
- 10:56Speaker 1: back into the private sector. You know, before this may
- 10:58Speaker 1: all race, Cuomo had his own private consulting firm. He
- 11:04Speaker 1: worked as a consultant in his own consulting firm called
- 11:07Speaker 1: Innovation Strategies. Apparently he made five million in twenty twenty four,
- 11:12Speaker 1: so five million a year. He'll be very happy. What
- 11:15Speaker 1: does he do for these clients? I don't know, high
- 11:17Speaker 1: paid consulting work. You know, if you're a former governor,
- 11:21Speaker 1: former attorney general, supposedly have a lot of expertise and
- 11:25Speaker 1: connections with the state government, and you can help out
- 11:28Speaker 1: businesses and people and make phone calls for him, and
- 11:31Speaker 1: a lot of these guys, these billionaires, will pay Cuomo
- 11:33Speaker 1: as a consultant just to have him around. He's like
- 11:36Speaker 1: a celebrity. You can bring to lunch, bring to dinner,
- 11:39Speaker 1: have him in your office to meet people, that kind
- 11:41Speaker 1: of stuff. So he'll go back to that most likely,
- 11:45Speaker 1: you probably most people believe will never ever ever see
- 11:50Speaker 1: him again as a candidate. And let's hope. But Wall Streets.
- 11:54Speaker 1: You're in an article about the end of all this.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Now they point out Melissa de Rowe, who worked for him.
- 12:01Speaker 1: He thought they had a great chance. There was polling
- 12:05Speaker 1: in the beginning that showed him having no chance. She
- 12:08Speaker 1: dismissed the polling, didn't think it was real. Then the
- 12:13Speaker 1: June primary, everything reality came crashing down on them, total loss.
- 12:18Speaker 1: But over the summer, his campaign decided to create a
- 12:22Speaker 1: new Cuomo. Well, the new Cuomo was exactly the same
- 12:28Speaker 1: as the old Cuomo, but they had him making appearances
- 12:30Speaker 1: of out there meeting voters for the first time, but
- 12:33Speaker 1: again and he got good at in the last week,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but it was too little, way way way too late.
- 12:40Speaker 1: You know, Chuck Schumer, you always give him credit, you know,
- 12:42Speaker 1: for being the biggest weasel ever, there's no bigger weasel
- 12:45Speaker 1: than Chuck Schumer. So he voted on Tuesday in the election,
- 12:49Speaker 1: and the press, of course, as to who did you
- 12:50Speaker 1: vote for? He wouldn't say, Look, I voted, That's all
- 12:55Speaker 1: he said. Look, I voted. I look forward to working
- 12:57Speaker 1: with the next mayor. He wouldn't say who he voted for.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Could you imagine being more of a weasel than that.
- 13:03Speaker 1: You're the leading number one Democrat in the state, you
- 13:05Speaker 1: won't say who you voted for. There's rumors everywhere the
- 13:10Speaker 1: shutdown will get settled in the next day or two.
- 13:12Speaker 1: We'll see f AA slashing ten percent of the flights
- 13:17Speaker 1: in forty cities. It's already backed up, it's already a
- 13:19Speaker 1: mess at the airport. This will make it even worse.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Thanksgiving holiday's big getaway weekend. They're going to have to
- 13:26Speaker 1: settle it by then. Shutdown. It's an all time record
- 13:30Speaker 1: now thirty seven days. The old record was thirty five
- 13:34Speaker 1: even Democrat Senator John Fetterman says, it's all I can't
- 13:39Speaker 1: say the word a blanky political game. It's the S word.
- 13:44Speaker 1: It's all a game. Even he admits, Hey, Curtis will
- 13:47Speaker 1: be with us in a few minutes. Let's see what
- 13:48Speaker 1: he has to say about the election. And after it's
- 13:50Speaker 1: all over, and we'll take some calls.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Next.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten is
- 13:55Speaker 1: the number. Eight hundred three two one zero seven set up.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Pre said on the iHeartRadio app to w o R
- 14:04Speaker 4: to hear Mark live. Set another for Mark's podcast to
- 14:08Speaker 4: hear him any time. Now back to Mark Zimone on WOR.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Tony in
- 14:18Speaker 1: New Jersey. Tony, how you doing good?
- 14:21Speaker 3: Thanks for taking my call. I just like some clarifications.
- 14:26Speaker 3: The people that were voting this last elections, they don't
- 14:31Speaker 3: have the history of what Marxism and all that is about.
- 14:38Speaker 1: We know that, we know that.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Yeah, the Republicans already got blamed for closing down the government.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Why don't we just get rid of the nuclear option,
- 14:49Speaker 3: pass all the laws we want to pass, and we'll
- 14:53Speaker 3: win everything in the next election.
- 14:55Speaker 1: All right, Very good? Point, and I don't know what
- 14:57Speaker 1: it is, but it's a good point. Let's go to
- 14:59Speaker 1: Phil in Manhatt and Phil, how you doing fine?
- 15:02Speaker 5: Thank you, and thank you for taking my call. I
- 15:04Speaker 5: just wanted to say that.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I whispering sound like we're making like some kind of
- 15:08Speaker 1: drug whispering quietly here, yeah, go ahead.
- 15:11Speaker 5: And people said that I was wasting my vote, and
- 15:14Speaker 5: I said, it's better than voting for waste. Thank you
- 15:17Speaker 5: for letting me speak.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Maybe we should get an unlisted numbers somebody I don't know.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Let's go to uh Bill and Bradley beach Bill, how
- 15:27Speaker 1: you doing? Do they even have that?
- 15:29Speaker 3: More?
- 15:30Speaker 1: Go ahead?
- 15:31Speaker 6: How does that complaining about inflation that's down to like
- 15:37Speaker 6: two three? Keep going on?
- 15:40Speaker 1: That's how your faults? I see, it's always that line
- 15:42Speaker 1: line eight always cuts out. Whenever has somebody cutting out,
- 15:45Speaker 1: we can't hear him. Always line eight. Let's go to
- 15:48Speaker 1: Blauvelt in Florida. Blouvelt, how you doing?
- 15:51Speaker 6: I'm doing all markmore?
- 15:53Speaker 1: How about you let me check not bad?
- 15:56Speaker 6: You got laugh You got me, You got me laughing
- 15:58Speaker 6: with the last couple of call. You are so funny.
- 16:01Speaker 6: And loggis on this, this historic moment for New York.
- 16:07Speaker 6: It's Mondmi. I mean, how many years have you been
- 16:10Speaker 6: in New York City?
- 16:11Speaker 1: A lot of years. We've been through Rudy ed Potch
- 16:14Speaker 1: and Bloomberg and.
- 16:17Speaker 6: I started working in Manhattan nineteen eighty one, walking from
- 16:21Speaker 6: Port Authority. I remember how leasy and how disgusting Times
- 16:25Speaker 6: Square was, and how it's changed for so much better.
- 16:29Speaker 6: It's I'm I'm scared for you, guys, I really am.
- 16:32Speaker 6: I'm really concerned about what's going to happen to that city.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Well, where are you in Florida?
- 16:38Speaker 6: I'm in Fort Myers.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Oh.
- 16:41Speaker 6: House prices are yeah, with the higher house prices are
- 16:46Speaker 6: already taken up.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, you know you're pretty safe over there Fort Myers.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Although Naples has become a very crowded place. Saint Petersburg
- 16:54Speaker 1: is like the new hotspot that's taken off. But you
- 16:57Speaker 1: people listening to us right now, Palm Beach, West Beageport Lauderdale, Bulgertin,
- 17:02Speaker 1: you are going to have a traffic nightmare. If you
- 17:04Speaker 1: know you're you're laughing at all these people are gonna
- 17:06Speaker 1: move down there. Traffic is already out of control down there.
- 17:10Speaker 1: It's gonna be an absolute mess. In the East coast
- 17:13Speaker 1: of Florida. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how
- 17:16Speaker 1: you doing.
- 17:17Speaker 7: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Mara. Let's see how much
- 17:20Speaker 7: all these rich people like the owner of Balthazar and
- 17:24Speaker 7: Cynthia Nixon likely when especially Balthazar the owner, when you
- 17:29Speaker 7: have to pay the bus boy thirty dollars an hour
- 17:32Speaker 7: and that already overpriced plate of pasta goes from twenty
- 17:38Speaker 7: five dollars to thirty five dollars, and to you, Cynthia Nixon,
- 17:43Speaker 7: you better hire some private security because if you call
- 17:47Speaker 7: that a husband, that guy Christopher Maloney, if anybody goes
- 17:53Speaker 7: to VIC you don't count on don't count on it
- 17:57Speaker 7: to defend you. I know some wise guys who owned us.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm surprised you associated with what is guys.
- 18:05Speaker 7: This is now, this is the truth, this is real.
- 18:08Speaker 7: I live in a very, very liberal neighborhood where a
- 18:12Speaker 7: lot of these kids that you spoke of that stay
- 18:15Speaker 7: in their mother's basement and can't afford to pay their
- 18:19Speaker 7: internet bill live. When I went to my polling place,
- 18:23Speaker 7: there was more of them voting than during the presidential election.
- 18:30Speaker 7: And when I came home, I told my girlfriend, I said,
- 18:34Speaker 7: I knew we were in trouble, meaning Guomo and the
- 18:38Speaker 7: people who had half for brain in their head when
- 18:42Speaker 7: I went to go vote. And my advice to all
- 18:48Speaker 7: the landlords who are afraid of Mandami raising the taxes
- 18:53Speaker 7: target figure out who your liberal tenants are and sock
- 18:57Speaker 7: it to them, because that's what I do. I know
- 19:00Speaker 7: in advance who the liberals are who live in my properties,
- 19:05Speaker 7: and they're the first ones I give.
- 19:06Speaker 1: It in the How do you know who they are?
- 19:08Speaker 4: How do you know who you are?
- 19:10Speaker 7: You see the mail they get? Oh yeah, you see
- 19:13Speaker 7: the flyers they get. I didn't get any, uh, I
- 19:17Speaker 7: didn't get any political flyers from Zora and Mandami. I
- 19:21Speaker 7: only got I got robo calls from from Rudy for
- 19:25Speaker 7: Curtis and also from that other Republican Janine Aquafreda. I
- 19:31Speaker 7: get them from all the because unfortunately for the city,
- 19:35Speaker 7: I still have to have a landline because I own
- 19:37Speaker 7: properties and stuff and you can't just have a cell
- 19:40Speaker 7: phone number.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Vincent't great stuff, great call as always, Thanks for calling. Yeah,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I didn't think about that. You know, if you're starting,
- 19:48Speaker 1: if you're getting all these left wing flyers, if you're
- 19:51Speaker 1: getting Mamdani mail and all that stuff. It means you've
- 19:53Speaker 1: contributed to a Democrat, because if you ever made any
- 19:57Speaker 1: kind of a political donation, even for five bucks, you
- 20:00Speaker 1: then end up on every mailing list from everybody in
- 20:03Speaker 1: the same party. In other words, you contribute to this
- 20:05Speaker 1: Democratic candidate. Well, next year, all the other Democratic candidates
- 20:10Speaker 1: by his mailing list, and they got your e so
- 20:13Speaker 1: you can. It's a good good way to check, just
- 20:15Speaker 1: see what kind of mail they're getting. Hey, when we
- 20:17Speaker 1: come back, Curtis will be with us. Curtis sliwa. Let's
- 20:20Speaker 1: get the after aftermath or report from the election. Election night.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I heard he talked to mom Donnie, and we'll ask
- 20:27Speaker 1: him about that and more coming up next on seven
- 20:30Speaker 1: to ten wor.
- 20:32Speaker 4: The Marximone Show on WR.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Well, hope we'll talk to Curtis in a moment. What happened?
- 20:40Speaker 1: We lost him? We had him, You had him and
- 20:45Speaker 1: you talked to him, right, Okay, So then it dropped.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Then we can't get him back. So this knowing Curtis,
- 20:51Speaker 1: he's traveling somewhere, he's some cell signal. I don't know,
- 20:57Speaker 1: but we'll keep trying and we'll get him back. He
- 21:00Speaker 1: could be on the train somewhere. But you know, Curtis,
- 21:02Speaker 1: he could be anywhere anywhere in the city, although it's
- 21:07Speaker 1: hard to go anywhere in New York City and not
- 21:09Speaker 1: get a cell signal. You know, out in the suburbs,
- 21:12Speaker 1: do you have all these dead spots. It's really I
- 21:15Speaker 1: don't know how people live like that. You know, well,
- 21:19Speaker 1: you know, if you're in the suburbs, there's always an area.
- 21:21Speaker 1: If you're in Long Island, for instance, if you're on
- 21:23Speaker 1: Northern Boulevard as you head into East Norwich Laurel holl
- 21:27Speaker 1: you know you're gonna lose the cell service. There's no
- 21:30Speaker 1: cell signal for like two miles around there. Westchester, you know,
- 21:34Speaker 1: there's a couple of areas there's just no cell service.
- 21:37Speaker 1: The Hamptons. If you could be in Southampton, the nicest
- 21:42Speaker 1: of the Hampton's, beautiful Southampton, unbelievable no cell service. East
- 21:47Speaker 1: Hampton very little cell service. You know why because nobody
- 21:52Speaker 1: wants a cell tower near their house and nobody will
- 21:55Speaker 1: let them put it up, so it can drive you crazy.
- 21:59Speaker 7: You know.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Also, if you in these see you across the street
- 22:01Speaker 1: over there where they got this over on Billionaire's Row,
- 22:04Speaker 1: they got these hundred story apartment buildings. Have you ever
- 22:07Speaker 1: see those beautiful apartments they show you in the ads.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Look at this one hundredth floor, the ninety eighth floor.
- 22:14Speaker 1: You know, one thing they never tell you, there's no
- 22:16Speaker 1: cell service up there. None. You know, most cell towers
- 22:21Speaker 1: in New York City are around the twentieth floor. They
- 22:24Speaker 1: figured out that's the perfect spot to hit the ground,
- 22:28Speaker 1: is the twentieth floor, and it'll go down to the
- 22:32Speaker 1: ground and up and we'll go up to about the
- 22:34Speaker 1: fiftieth floor, and after that you're not getting any cell service.
- 22:38Speaker 1: So it is a pain in the neck to live
- 22:40Speaker 1: like that. And if you live up there on the
- 22:41Speaker 1: hundredth floor, your cable company will give you some cell signal,
- 22:46Speaker 1: but if you lose your cable, you'll lose your cell
- 22:48Speaker 1: service too. So what happened with Curtis? We find him? Oh,
- 22:51Speaker 1: we got him all right. Curtis, of course, was the
- 22:54Speaker 1: best candidate in the race, the only crime fighter in
- 22:57Speaker 1: the race. And it's great to have back with us. Curtis, sliwa,
- 23:01Speaker 1: how you doing good?
- 23:03Speaker 4: Except my phone just went dead. Lucky Nancy was side
- 23:08Speaker 4: by side with me, so I'm talking to you York
- 23:10Speaker 4: her phone. Everything's fine, calling up all my supporters, you know,
- 23:15Speaker 4: thanking them for the nine months that we were on
- 23:18Speaker 4: the campaign trail twenty hours a day of a twenty
- 23:20Speaker 4: four hour day, and obviously getting ready. We're the loyal opposition.
- 23:26Speaker 4: We're not moving, we're improving. And as I said on
- 23:31Speaker 4: my concession speech that night, when I knew that it
- 23:36Speaker 4: was over, I said, look, the moment that zon mondami
- 23:40Speaker 4: mayor electric to impose socialist concepts and ideas into the
- 23:46Speaker 4: running of the city, when he continues to weekend and
- 23:49Speaker 4: render our police impotent, and when public safety gets worse
- 23:53Speaker 4: than it is now, he will have me and my
- 23:57Speaker 4: followers as his worst nightmare. We will fight, fight, fight, Mark.
- 24:00Speaker 4: We're not going anywhere.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I know that now, Is this true? I read
- 24:04Speaker 1: that election that you called mom, Donnie, you spoke to him.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Sure, this is what you're supposed to do. You get
- 24:10Speaker 4: a concession speech, you call the person, you say to him, congratulations,
- 24:17Speaker 4: and we want him to do well. You always want
- 24:19Speaker 4: to mayor to do well.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Look.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I tried calling Eric Adams the last time twenty twenty one,
- 24:25Speaker 4: and that guy, who I knew was going to be
- 24:27Speaker 4: a complete disaster. You still do the courtesy of making
- 24:30Speaker 4: the call, I would have wished him good luck because
- 24:32Speaker 4: if they do well, we do well. But I also
- 24:36Speaker 4: clearly warned in my concession speech speech that we will
- 24:39Speaker 4: be here, we will be fighting, we are not going
- 24:42Speaker 4: to leave. So it's a two edge short. This is
- 24:46Speaker 4: what you're supposed to do. Yeah, but you haven't anybody
- 24:48Speaker 4: else did it.
- 24:49Speaker 1: What kind of conversations you have with mom, Donnie? What
- 24:51Speaker 1: do you say to you?
- 24:52Speaker 3: Oh? No, very brief.
- 24:54Speaker 4: He said thank you, and I said we'll be talking
- 24:57Speaker 4: in the future, but it's not going to be a
- 25:00Speaker 4: happy talk, I think. And he said thank you again,
- 25:04Speaker 4: because you know me, I warn you an advance, Mark,
- 25:07Speaker 4: I always do. The heat is going to come. And
- 25:11Speaker 4: I'm an organizer. I'm a community organizer. I go into
- 25:14Speaker 4: communities when you need to battle city Hall, when it's
- 25:18Speaker 4: David versus Goliath, I organize the people. And that's what
- 25:21Speaker 4: I will continue to do here in the city.
- 25:23Speaker 1: All right, now, let's point out a couple of things
- 25:25Speaker 1: you did not cost Cuomo the race. Cuomo, if he
- 25:28Speaker 1: got first of all, the myth that if you dropped out,
- 25:31Speaker 1: he'd get all your voters was insane. Obviously all your
- 25:33Speaker 1: voters are not going to go to him. But even
- 25:36Speaker 1: if they did, he still wouldn't have won. He's still
- 25:38Speaker 1: would have lost by a couple of points. Said, can
- 25:41Speaker 1: you assure us at least we will never hear from
- 25:43Speaker 1: Andrew Cromo again as a candidate.
- 25:45Speaker 4: No, no, no, Because he's like Napoleon. He will shrink
- 25:49Speaker 4: back to his island of elbow, best known as the Hampton.
- 25:53Speaker 4: He will lurk. Mark, you know this guy. He is
- 25:56Speaker 4: obsessed with becoming relevant again. He will look at every angle.
- 26:01Speaker 4: He will look. He will do his internal polls because remember,
- 26:03Speaker 4: he's sitting on millions and millions of dollars that he
- 26:06Speaker 4: got for that book that he wrote in the middle
- 26:09Speaker 4: of the lockdown and pandemic, five million dollars that he
- 26:11Speaker 4: wrote with his staff that he should have been forced
- 26:13Speaker 4: to give back, but sits on it and counts the interest.
- 26:17Speaker 4: He will be plotting his comeback. I'm telling you, Mark,
- 26:21Speaker 4: I've known this guy.
- 26:22Speaker 7: You know, We've been like.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Two scorpions in a brandy glass. I hate him. I
- 26:27Speaker 4: despise him because his failures as governor and Eric adams
- 26:32Speaker 4: failures as mayor paved the way for a guy a
- 26:35Speaker 4: year ago. They're not even his neighbors knew Jorhanmandami.
- 26:38Speaker 1: But when you say, comeback, where what you run for Senate?
- 26:41Speaker 1: What would he do?
- 26:43Speaker 2: Oh?
- 26:44Speaker 4: You know him, He'll plot, He'll he'll deal with every
- 26:48Speaker 4: angle he still has. You know, imagine this mark. He
- 26:53Speaker 4: basically he's like a bumblebee without a stinger, because he
- 26:57Speaker 4: always would threaten people with engines and then debta. That's
- 27:02Speaker 4: how the Working Families Party got so strong. I don't
- 27:04Speaker 4: think people understand that when Zorahan Mandami voted for himself
- 27:10Speaker 4: and voted down the Working Families Party line, that was
- 27:13Speaker 4: on purpose. That was an f you to Andrew Como, who,
- 27:17Speaker 4: if you remember, tried to destroy that party. When how
- 27:22Speaker 4: dare she sent you a Nixon of Sex in the
- 27:24Speaker 4: City run against him as governor on the Working Families
- 27:27Speaker 4: party line. You know what he succeeded in doing and
- 27:29Speaker 4: trying to destroy them, destroyed the New York State Reform
- 27:32Speaker 4: Party that I was chairman of, the Libertarian Party, the
- 27:35Speaker 4: Green Party, the Femist Party, and he just made the
- 27:38Speaker 4: Working Families Party stronger. And they came back and they
- 27:42Speaker 4: bit him right in the neck. Because this is a
- 27:44Speaker 4: guy who lives for the vendettas and blood feuds, and
- 27:47Speaker 4: they got him good. You know, look, he's an evil person,
- 27:51Speaker 4: he's the prince of darkness. But he will continue to
- 27:54Speaker 4: plot his comeback and he will change, and he will
- 27:59Speaker 4: he will act like what he said yesterday, he didn't
- 28:02Speaker 4: really say as you saw all during these two failed
- 28:04Speaker 4: campaigns of his against or On Mandami. Yeah.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Hey, you know, nobody was a bigger booster of Andrew
- 28:10Speaker 1: Cuomo than Donald Trump, President Trump promoting him. Like did
- 28:13Speaker 1: you notice yesterday President Trump twice called him a thug?
- 28:17Speaker 1: So I guess that changed to your relationship.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Well, I think you know, Mark that many of the
- 28:23Speaker 4: people who were voting for me originally listen to the President.
- 28:27Speaker 4: And you know there was Elon Musk and Stephen Miller
- 28:32Speaker 4: and everybody else piling on me. The masters of the
- 28:35Speaker 4: universe said, determined the courtious Lee, what was not going
- 28:38Speaker 4: to become a mayor was not going to have a
- 28:39Speaker 4: fair chance. But that's politics, And Mark, you've been around
- 28:44Speaker 4: this game for so long. How many times have we
- 28:46Speaker 4: had discussions where I say, this is the dirtiest business
- 28:50Speaker 4: that exists. The only difference between this and organized crime,
- 28:54Speaker 4: of which I've had my battles is you don't have
- 28:56Speaker 4: a dead body at the end of the line, except
- 28:58Speaker 4: if it's involving the Clinton family. Other than that, they
- 29:02Speaker 4: will have dinner with you at night. They'll pat you
- 29:05Speaker 4: on the back so hard you have to go for
- 29:07Speaker 4: a chiropractic adjustment. Everybody is singing home by eye and
- 29:10Speaker 4: they have a press conference in the morning in which
- 29:12Speaker 4: they stab you in the back. It happens again and
- 29:16Speaker 4: again and again. And this is the business that I
- 29:20Speaker 4: have chosen. So I have no regrets.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Now let me ask you. I'm sure the answer is no.
- 29:25Speaker 1: But did you take a day off and rest at
- 29:27Speaker 1: least after the campaign?
- 29:29Speaker 4: Absolutely not. Remember, I have a responsibility to call everybody
- 29:34Speaker 4: who put their lives on hold for nine months, you know,
- 29:38Speaker 4: went to the mats against the most powerful people in
- 29:42Speaker 4: the world, the most powerful forces, and continue to grind
- 29:46Speaker 4: it out. And I wanted them to hear from me,
- 29:48Speaker 4: not a text, you know, not an email, a personal
- 29:51Speaker 4: call in which I could personally thank them and say, hey,
- 29:55Speaker 4: this is one battle of many battles to come. We're
- 29:57Speaker 4: not going away. Remember Richard nick since said you won't
- 30:00Speaker 4: have me to kick around anymore when he lost. Actually,
- 30:03Speaker 4: the election was stolen from him by JFK. I'm the
- 30:08Speaker 4: person who has told everybody you will have me to
- 30:11Speaker 4: kick around because I ain't going nowhere.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Well that's good. Here now we only like a minute left.
- 30:15Speaker 1: What what are you planning to do next? Radio? What
- 30:17Speaker 1: are you going to do?
- 30:19Speaker 5: No?
- 30:19Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, you know I'm never going back
- 30:21Speaker 4: to that old boy. No no, never going back to
- 30:26Speaker 4: w ABC. I'm sorry. You guys at WO R have
- 30:29Speaker 4: been fair and square to me, but I have to
- 30:32Speaker 4: continue to organize. We know what Zoran Mondami intends to do,
- 30:37Speaker 4: and if we don't organize in advance, stain on us.
- 30:41Speaker 4: We've seen Zora Mondami. He made it very specifically he's
- 30:45Speaker 4: going to war in his acceptance speech. I mean that
- 30:48Speaker 4: was a difference on Mondami March tomorrow. That wasn't the affable,
- 30:52Speaker 4: smiling khumbay, We love everybody, this whole pool. No no,
- 30:57Speaker 4: he basically threw the lightning bolts out and said war, war, war.
- 31:01Speaker 4: And there's nobody who loved going to war politically better
- 31:05Speaker 4: and more often than your truly Curtis Lee. When I
- 31:08Speaker 4: will lead the loyal opposition.
- 31:10Speaker 1: All right, Well, that's good to hear Curtis Lee, Well,
- 31:12Speaker 1: we'll talk again soon. Keep it up. And if anybody
- 31:14Speaker 1: wants to help you, what do they do? Go to
- 31:16Speaker 1: your website. Is it still up?
- 31:19Speaker 4: It's still active until the end of the year. Slee
- 31:21Speaker 4: for NYC dot com because I'm fighting for NYC. Sleewa
- 31:26Speaker 4: for NYC dot com. And thanks for all your tactical
- 31:29Speaker 4: air support. Oh well, both these campaigns.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Mark, all right, Curtis, we'll talk to you again soon.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Good luck, take care, talk to soon. Take care my pleasure. Hey,
- 31:39Speaker 1: don't forget Jimmy Fayler tonight. He's doing the Patriot Awards,
- 31:44Speaker 1: but he'll be here on the radio nine to midnight tonight.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Great show every night at nine on seven to ten
- 31:49Speaker 1: wo R.
- 31:50Speaker 6: Where you York comes for common Sense?
- 31:53Speaker 4: Mark Simone on sevent ten wo R.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Well, we're out of time, but I'll be back tomorrow.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Don't go away. Buck and Clay are coming up next.
- 32:03Speaker 1: They do a great show. And then Sean Hannity be
- 32:06Speaker 1: live from Long Island the Patriot Awards that you can
- 32:09Speaker 1: hear tonight, and I'll see you tomorrow at ten on
- 32:12Speaker 1: seven ten WR
