- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Frankie and Johnny, Frankie and Johnny.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Bada bing, you know what I'm saying?
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Um, so you know, we we've uh we've kind of like jumped into different stuff, you know, throughout the weeks, and it is senior year, and I I wonder the let's start over again.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Like, what what's it like?
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: The excitement, lots of last last dances, last first week, last month, last, you know, all these last at the same time, all these first, and and while you hear a lot of senior year, this is the best year of your life.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: I enjoy it.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Uh now what's it like though?
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Because everybody talks about the excitement, but also one thing that we don't talk about nearly enough is also all the pressures.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: So share a little bit about um the highs, the lows, the excitement, and then some of the pressures that maybe you feel or some of your friends feel.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, classes are honestly uh not not as easy as I thought.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Um taking two APs this year, um AP Calc and Calculus and AP Spanish.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Um we'll see how that goes.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Um so far we haven't really done like any like events during the actual school year yet for school.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Um homecoming is coming up.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Uh but yeah, I'm excited for it.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: I'm excited for the month of October.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Um I got my birthday.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Uh UM plays FSU.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Uh we got Halloween, uh Homecoming.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Um I'm excited for basketball season to start too.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: And and we'll see.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: We'll see where our senior year goes from there.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and Halloween's coming up in a couple of weeks.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Halloween's coming up in a couple of weeks.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Uh any ideas yet?
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: What what uh No, I don't know yet.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: I don't know yet.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, and how about birthday?
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: What do you what does that look like for you?
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Uh probably just go to dinner, um, my dad and and friends and stuff, and and uh hopefully my sister could come down, I could see her, um, and yeah, I mean just spend it with friends and family.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, so so you you mentioned a little bit of the of the highs.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: How about the pressures?
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Like what does that um look like?
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: And because as parents, we get so focused a lot on you know, what are you gonna do?
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Like, we want you to have fun, and I see a lot of parents who really you know get really stoked about senior year, and especially like moms, oh my god, you gotta do all this, and and uh extra, I guess, a little extra.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Um but uh it's fun, it's all fun, but there is also a lot of pressure uh on on you guys, on some of the people watching uh as they're on in their senior year, getting closer to senior year.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: What's that like for you, or have you felt any of those pressures?
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: And um, and if not, maybe have you talk to some of your friends, you know, about that.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I mean there's there's a little bit of pressure of like obviously this is my last year, so I want to make it count.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Um there's also pressure like I want to have fun because it's my last year, but at the same time I gotta focus on on school and just get good grades on basketball.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Um, I gotta focus there.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: So there's these pros and cons, but honestly, like it's mostly pros, pros, because you make the best out of out of what you have and what you get.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: And I mean, basketball's not something I have to worry about, and and neither is school really, because school I've always done good, and basketball is something that I love.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: So I think there's like not as much pressure as maybe people think.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Um obviously you're applying to colleges and stuff, and it's it could get a little challenging and nerve-wracking uh seeing where you're gonna get accepted to and stuff, but but I think it's it's pretty good all around.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Well, it seems like you seem to have a better uh grip on on that.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Um I'm not getting it doesn't sound like you're having like that much pressure uh as opposed to maybe some some other young people.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: However, we're gonna get to some some other things there in a minute.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: When somebody asks you, what do you wanna what do you wanna be, or what do you want to do, what what do you want life, uh, what do you want to do with your life?
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: What's the first thing that your mind starts uh Yeah, the first thing I would say is is do something you love.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Um, for you.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Like when somebody asks you, what's the first thing that you feel?
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Like when somebody asks you, hey, so what do you want to do with your life?
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: What hits you?
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, I want I I honestly I say that um I want to be in business and finance.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: And what I mean by that's not just I want to be working for somebody, I want to work for myself.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Um I want to be an entrepreneur.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Um I would love to do something in sports as well, uh, maybe on the side.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: Um But yeah, I want to be an entrepreneur, I wanna I want to be financially free when I'm older.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Um and yeah, I mean I love sports, so that's always gonna be there.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: That's always gonna be in the back of my head.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: I I want to see what I where I could do with that.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: But that's what I tell people honestly that business, finance, and sports.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Okay, and what is it that draws you about well we know this I mean no, actually share, because like uh obviously I know, but um let people know what is it that draws you into business, into finance, into sports.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Uh what is it that pulls you?
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sports.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Uh I'll start off with sports.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: I mean, um, since I was a little kid, my first word was touchdown.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Uh you guys don't believe it, I swear it is.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Big word, huh?
- 6:36unknown: Yeah.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Got all excited.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: First word, yeah, it's daddy, papa, poppy.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Touchdown.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Touchdown.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: I don't even think it was football teams.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: But yeah.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Um I told you you should have been a football team of safety.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I've always loved uh sports and and um that's always been like my passion.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Uh when it comes to business and finance, I mean I love numbers.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Um I like dealing with money.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: I like obviously making money.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's a great thing.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Um But honestly, I want to be an entrepreneur because like I said, I I just I want to be financially free, I want to help others.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Um I want to be in control of my business and not having to follow someone else's someone else that's in control.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: And that's that's that's the reason why.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah, that was great.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: So uh to follow up on that, where do you feel most pressure from?
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: Um school, teachers, coaches, me, friends?
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I would say probably my dad.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Um I'm glad he does uh I guess pressure me to I guess uh I'm glad he he he pressures me to do stuff because it gets me out of my comfort zone and it teaches me new things.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Um my mom too, my mom uh choke me through some stuff and it's it's honestly good for me because it makes me more responsible, mature, independent as a as a as a kid, and even though it might suck in the moment and I might not like to do it or might not want to do it, um I I realize in the long run that it's it's good for me and it's helping me become better as a person.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: So I would say probably my parents the most uh feel pressure.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Um I also want to be like I want to show them that I'm the best version of myself always.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: So you said something so valuable and so important that I I want to repeat what you said and and and and make sure I understood it correctly.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: And especially this is for for parents, and and like this is on us.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Like you saying, and I was like, uh-oh, I I I wasn't sure what you were gonna answer, but your answer is actually the one thing that is parents, many of us, we fail.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: We try to helicopter parent or do so many things for kids, and what you said is that the child, I'm gonna use my words, and then I I want you to reframe it and correct me if I'm wrong.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: You said something really important uh in reference, and I didn't know what you were gonna say when you said, you know, my dad, um, my parents.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: But what I heard is parents for us, for young people, embrace the struggle.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Embrace it instead of like, as parents, we we attempt, we don't want our kids to go through challenging times, we don't want them to go through heartache, we don't want them, in essence, to struggle.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: But it's only through struggling, through challenges, that what we end up doing, and I want you to elaborate on this, how it feels when this happens, what we end up doing when we don't give them the opportunity to actually work through the hard, the challenging situations in life, is we're robbing them of confidence.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: We're robbing them the opportunity to build confidence like a muscle and let them realize I can do hard things.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I can do challenging things.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: Hey, I did that.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: Now I can do this.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: Because just like a muscle, it compounds.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: How does it feel, Johnny, in that moment when, and if you could think of an example, that'd be awesome if you can't, um, where there was something you're like, I don't want to do this, I can't.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: My dad told me to do this.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: Um you could smile with dad.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: And then after, bam, I did it.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, talking to an example, it's like talking to a teacher or having a conversation with a teacher or like a coach, like those tough conversations that you don't want to have, but um I mean in order to break out of that shell, you have to have them.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Uh everybody has that shell that that they're shy and and maybe they're nervous to talk to them.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: But like we said a couple weeks ago, uh it was probably not more than a couple.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was it was a few weeks ago that we said change that nervous to um excitement, that nervous feeding to excitement because um it kind of like erases that nervousness and yeah, it makes you more confident in what you're gonna say and and more comfortable in having that conversation.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: And I mean, after that conversation you feel way better, like after those hard conversations that you have.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: So it gives you like a sense of like, oh yeah, like I did it.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: So yeah, so and how many times uh on that in your head did you think about the conversation, and then when you actually did it, what was that like?
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Wait a second, that wasn't that bad.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we overthink a lot of stuff, and and I mean the conversations like you might think they're really like hard to have or something, but um, if you approach it in the right way, it's gonna come out how you want, and and you'll get back, you'll receive in in I guess like a calming way, you won't like if you're nervous for going into a conversation because the other person's gonna get mad at you, or maybe it might not settle right with them.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: Um I mean if you it's a everything's how you approach it, so if you approach it in the right way, I I think it it'll go the right way.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: And it's really like once you have it after that you feel relieved, and you and yeah, you also say to yourself like it wasn't that bad.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's pretty easy to I was like, uh you you think that you're just overthinking it.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you you you actually um I think you said the word took the word out of my mouth because it sounded like what I heard was relief.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: And and then if we look at how many times we're like, oh no, not today.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: Oh no, I don't want to do that today.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: I don't want to do that today.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Uh and there's a book of Brian Tracy.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: Uh, you haven't read this one, I don't think.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Uh Eat the Frog.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Weird name, right?
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: But what he means by eating the frog, it's do the first thing, like every day, try and tackle that hardest challenge, the hardest obstacle, the one that you know if you did only that one thing, your life would be so much better for it.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: And usually you don't eat the frog, you don't do the hard thing, you push it down, and then what ends up happening is you still know it's there.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: It's like it's almost like those family, let's say, Thanksgivings, and where there's this one person in the family that nobody it's like, oh, I don't want to see, you know, uncle, whoever it is.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: And it's like something happened at some point, and you're avoiding that real dialogue, and yet you're living your entire life with that thing.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Do the hard thing.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm gonna go back a little bit for a second.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: Um, you mentioned something earlier that I didn't ask you about, and and when you were talking about entrepreneurial ship.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Um, and you mentioned also being able to help others.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: You know, uh tell me more about that.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: Uh Annette.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: So I what I want to hear is what kind of people would you like to help?
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: And why why is that important to you?
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: I would like to help kids, uh, especially.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: Umly because I know I know there's a lot of kids out there that are going through a lot of stuff.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Uh it could be they're lonely, it could be family problems, it could honestly be anything that they don't feel enough.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Um I mean I've had family problems growing up and and it was tough, but I feel like because of that and because of how I got out of it is why I want to help those those kind of kids.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: Well, and on that, um not everybody, you don't need to be an entrepreneur in order to do that.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: Like, we all had some type of um pains, hurts, challenges in our lives.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Like, if you were born, you've had difficulties, you've had pains, you've had hurts.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: It's part of the the game of life.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: And the gift really, if you really want to feel fulfilled in life, is is look at that thing that really hurt you or that was hard for you growing up and and challenged you, and and go help the person who's going through that now, and you'll see how that one instance, it you don't really need money.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, it that could be on a grander scale, but just being there for that one person who you used to be, I mean, that's what we're doing.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: I mean, like there's a lot of um uh people that that that need this, that want to have these relationships, these conversations, and don't know how.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: So uh thank you for that, son.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: Um so uh going back to what would so what would you do with your life if nobody had an opinion on it?
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: No expectations, uh no say.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: Is it the same that that you mentioned?
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean I think it's just being yourself, to be honest.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Like, nobody has an opinion on you.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: Um and even if somebody did have an opinion on me, I'm still gonna be myself.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna act a different way in front of different people.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Cause I mean, if they don't like me, that's on them.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: But I'm just gonna be myself.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: So I I honestly wouldn't change change uh I don't think I would change anything.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: So tell them.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Who is Johnny?
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Like who is like not the athlete, like not the the AP, you know, good student.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Who is Johnny Lopez?
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Um I think I'm a leader.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: Um I'm organized with my stuff.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Um I'm disciplined.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Um I think for my age I'm I'm mature.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: Uh I love people.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: Big heart and and I just wanna I wanna help others and and I guess and um chase my dreams.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: And now though let's say there's some people that think, well, well, I can't be like that.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: I I'm not disciplined or I'm not a leader.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Uh because everything that you shared, it it wasn't like well, um, I'm six feet tall or I have these incredible athletic abilities.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: Like, those are things that that's not who you are.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: Like, the the traits that you you just mentioned are things that would you say that they're available in everyone and and how they can maybe develop those traits?
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: I think yeah, I think everybody everybody has a voice when it comes to leadership.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Everybody has a voice, and if you if you take advantage of it and use it, um I don't think it's really that hard to to become a leader.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: If you don't have to be so loud, but um I guess motivate others and be passionate about what you do.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: Um have a voice, don't be don't be the person in the room that's just quiet and afraid to ask questions and stuff.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Uh like overcome your your fears and I think.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: I mean what do you think?
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: You think that's I think that was great.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Uh but it's important, like people want to hear what what you think.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Um what you have to say.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: Like I'll answer that after you answer this question.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: What do you think stops people from actually choosing to lead?
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're afraid.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: Um, like I said, like if you overcome your fears, and that I mean, if you overcome your fears, I think that's literally the key to to being a leader.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Um people are afraid to what they what other people think about them, and yeah, it's it's just honestly fear and that's what it is.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: And what what what would you say to those people who are afraid of what other people are thinking about them?
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: Um like I said already before, I mean just be yourself.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: People don't people don't care as much as you think they care.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: Uh I said this a couple times already, and it's the truth because uh I mean let's say you I'll just give an example.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: I mean you post something on Instagram and you're a family or friends.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, it's cool.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: I mean, post it so people could see it.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: Uh I post stuff too on myself.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: Um but I mean, if you really think about it, yeah, they'll comment and stuff, but you think yeah, the next day they'll remember?
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: No.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just little stuff like that that the people that really care are the people that that come and call you, that come talk to you, they say happy birthday to you.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Um I think, I mean, in my opinion, that's that's what like care for somebody is, and don't be afraid of what people think about you because there's there's always people that are gonna listen to you.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Um and there's there's also other people that that won't.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: And that's fine because everybody, like I said, has a voice, and if you use it, um and you're not afraid to use it, I think you could become a leader.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: That was good.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: Now you you said something that you mentioned a couple of times and and you real You mentioned that you mentioned it a couple of times as far as that people don't care, but you also mentioned that you really care about people.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: So why is it that you care so deeply about people?
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know, I just grew up like that to be honest.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: I I I love people a lot.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Um I care for people.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: To be honest, I it's just I I guess it's I I would say it's a gift from God.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: I didn't learn it anywhere, I just that's how I was born, I guess.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: So um died getting a little emotional in there Before I I I asked what I'm gonna ask.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Wait, what do you what do you think are the traits of an a leader?
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: A leader who's who's a leader's somebody who's see a lot of people confuse about and you mentioned about you know the part of being afraid.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: A leader's still afraid.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Anyone who says that you talk to any leader, like real leader, not not people who position themselves or call themselves leader.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: Because you can't you can't lead fully, and what I mean by lead fully, you talk anybody who's who's who's led build a monster empire of a business, or or really led their family, or led in the military, and there's moments of doubt, there's seeds of doubt, but they lead anyway.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: They make a decision that we're going here and they realize that they don't have all the answers.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: See, the thing is what happens with most people is they're afraid because what if no one listens, or what if my voice, everyone's voice matters.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: Like you said a lot of things that were really important.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: Like your voice matters.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: And no one knows what it is you're thinking unless you speak up.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: And if you have an idea, a vision, uh, something that you feel like saying, there's other people around you that are also thinking the same thing.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Like find something that pulls you, something greater than you.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: That's why when I said what's important to you about wanting to give back, you want to find your best asset to step into that leadership role?
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: Look for that hard moment or pain inside your life.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: And imagine what it felt like when you were a little kid and what you wanted, what you needed from somebody else, and now be that person for them.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: Let that moment pull you, not push, pull you to it.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: That's where you're gonna find some passion, that's where you're gonna find your leadership skills, and and you said something.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: Not everyone's always gonna agree with you.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: And there's a saying if you're talking to everybody, you're talking to nobody.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Like a leader isn't looking to be popular.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: They actually became a leader because they said something that a lot of people thought, but they didn't have the courage to actually say.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: Uh, a leader takes responsibility when they do wrong.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: They own it, they take accountability.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: And then when things go great for their team, for the people around them, they praise those people, they lift them up.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: Leadership is the title.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: But in order to get there, you gotta care about the people around you.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: That's what real leadership is.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: It's not from a place of fear, it's from a place of, man, I want to follow that person.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: I want to be more like that person.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: There's somebody who's magnetic.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: Because those people who lead from fear, they may lead in the moment because their job's on the line or something's on the line.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: But the moment that people can bail on you, they will.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: People care about people, people want to follow somebody who they know really cares about them.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Uh so son, um, whoo.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: Uh deviated there a little bit.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: Uh, thanks for the question because I was about to get emotional there.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: What does success look like for you?
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, what if when you say I want to be successful, um, what does that look like for you?
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Like, what's the vision of success?
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Uh first, it's definitely building a family.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: Uh I want to have a family and um raise my children the right way.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: Um I wanna I wanna have a nice home, uh, Miami probably.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: I think I wanna stay here.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: I like the city.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: Uh my dad doesn't.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I think I just I want a strong family and and a nice home that I could invite my family over to and um and also like have have businesses where I could I want a business where it has to do something with sports, and then I want another business where I mean I could help others.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: So or maybe it could be like a two-on-one, maybe I could help kids that are that are I mean playing sports or I could do something separate of just helping other kids going through going through rough times and and and I feel like they're stuck.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: Um so yeah, I mean and what does that look like when you said you want a good family, like a strong family, like and you know I I'm saying this because we need to be very clear on what we want, because most people know what they don't want.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: They know exactly what they don't want, they're telling you list of all things they don't want, you tell them what is it that you want, they don't know.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, str uh str I mean uh a good family that uh we sit at the dinner table together, we talk about stuff, uh we connect, um we have fun, we go on trips.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: Uh uh me and my sister have always talked about this.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: Um I wanna do like when we get older, we want to do trips at least once a year.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Um, like my family and then my sister's family and kids and stuff.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: Um just get away and I mean just get away, have have fun and go on a trip and I just want to have that type on um Yeah.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Because growing up, I mean I I didn't growing up I had I had a good family.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: Uh so like I was like five, six years old.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: I mean I don't remember much.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: And then after that everything broke apart, so so any message to those kids, uh young people who who are going through some hard times in their family right now, um and challenges, or some of the parents even who are listening right now, and maybe they're going through some difficulties in their family.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: Like you, you know, you you've you've read a you've read a bit, you you you've listened, you've taken more than than than parents, by the way.
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: Real quick side note.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we don't think our kids are listening, and then like honestly, I I or I've sat here in here, we've done this for several weeks now, and I am sometimes you know shocked at some of the things that he says that I'm like, oh, that landed.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: That landed, he heard that, like, and it landed better than my delivery.
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: Uh so they're paying attention.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: So, so what can you tell parents and also teens who maybe they haven't had the best life, um, the best family life, or as parents, they're they're like, how do I get, how do I get, because um I I say this really uh I'm I'm I'm so blessed uh to have this relationship with my son.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: It's not always perfect, it's not always pretty.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: But I think not I think if there's anything that I know without question is that we share.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: Doesn't look like me.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: He dunked.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: You put me on a uh you put I was gonna say on an elevator, not even on an elevator, you put me up there, but you put me on on stairs and and on a ladder, and I don't think I can dunk.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: Light eyes, light hair, light skin.
- 29:54unknown: He's got my heart.
