  Speaker 1: as they were speaking, people heard in their own language

  Speaker 1: words that were glorifying God, hallelujah. And also there's some

  Speaker 1: people that wanted to mock. Right, there's some people always

  Speaker 1: hating on the move of God. You're always gonna have
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: the haters out there. But we're gonna dive into it.

  Speaker 1: We're gonna look at it all. We're gonna see Peter

  Speaker 1: stands up. We saw Peter deny Christ three times. We

  Speaker 1: saw him hide in fear, we saw him fail, then

  Speaker 1: we saw the Lord restore him. And now he's gonna

  Speaker 1: stand up with boldness and preach the first message of

  Speaker 1: how it's supposed to be done. Right, Let's go back

  Speaker 1: understand it. Amen. All right. Acts Chapter two, verse fourteen.

  Speaker 1: But Peter standing up with the eleven, as I said

  Speaker 1: a minute ago, they were mocking. They were saying that

  Speaker 1: this is new wine, and so you know, this is
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: a move of God, and people began to mock it.

  Speaker 1: So Peter is going to defend it. Peters, standing up
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them,
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: men of Judah and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let
• 7:46
  Speaker 1: this be known to you, and heed my words. For
• 7:52
  Speaker 1: these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is
• 7:57
  Speaker 1: only the third hour of the day. But this is
• 8:02
  Speaker 1: what was spoken by the Prophet Joel. Remember I mentioned
• 8:09
  Speaker 1: any other podcasts. I'm amazed at the knowledge of scripture

  Speaker 1: that Peter has. Peter was a common fisherman, but he

  Speaker 1: spent time with God. And look at how powerful the

  Speaker 1: you always gotta have scripture reference to things that we experience. Amen.

  Speaker 1: Now he's quoting the prophet Joel. And it shall come

  Speaker 1: to pass in the last days, says God, that I

  Speaker 1: will pour out my spirit on all flesh. Your sons
• 8:46
  Speaker 1: and daughters will prophesy. Your young men shall see visions,
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: your old men shall dream dreams. And my manservants, and
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: on my manservance and on my maid servants. I will
• 9:02
  Speaker 1: pour out my spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy.

  Speaker 1: I will show wonders in heaven above, in signs and
• 9:13
  Speaker 1: earth beneath, blood and fire and vapor and smoke. The

  Speaker 1: sun shall turn into darkness and the moon into blood
• 9:25
  Speaker 1: before the coming of the great and awesome day of
• 9:30
  Speaker 1: the Lord. Wow. And I shall come, and it shall

  Speaker 1: come to pass that whosoever calls on the name of

  Speaker 1: the Lord shall be saved. Hallelujah. Men of Israel, hear

  Speaker 1: these words Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested by God

  Speaker 1: to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did

  Speaker 1: through him in your mist as you yourselves also know

  Speaker 1: him being delivered by the determined, by the determined. Suppose

  Speaker 1: Now this is the saint Peter who denied Jesus three times,

  Speaker 1: as I mentioned before. Now he's transformed by the Holy Spirit.

  Speaker 1: Now he stands up boldly before thousands. I believe a

  Speaker 1: lot of people or the commentators that I've read said
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: it was about three thousand people that were converted to
• 11:30
  Speaker 1: the early Church. Now the third hour will equal nine am,
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: showing that darkness wasn't reasonable.

  Speaker 3: It looks like you.

  Speaker 1: Lost another one, right, it wasn't reasonable to be drunk

  Speaker 1: at nine am. People normally got drunk at night in

  Speaker 1: the dark. Right. So Peter uses logic in scripture also

  Speaker 1: to bring clarity. And as I said, you know the

  Speaker 1: knowledge of the word, this is how we're supposed to

  Speaker 1: use the word, is not There's nothing wrong with using
• 12:17
  Speaker 1: knowledge in common sense, in mixing it with the word
• 12:21
  Speaker 1: of God in scripture. But look at how he uses
• 12:25
  Speaker 1: scripture to correct their thinking. It's important to understand our
• 12:32
  Speaker 1: thoughts and man think about what we think about. And
• 12:39
  Speaker 1: then he goes to Joel. He goes to the prophecy
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: of Joel, and Joel prophesied about the Last days, and
• 12:47
  Speaker 1: the last days began at Pentecosts. We've been in the
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: Last Days for about two thousand years now, so we're
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: really at the end of the end. That this actually
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: includes the entire church age. Now, josephs I will Joel reread,
• 13:14
  Speaker 1: I will pour out my spirit on all flesh. Shows
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: the Spirit is not limited to a select few. It
• 13:27
  Speaker 1: says that all flesh will receive the spirits, sons, daughters, servants, old, young,
• 13:36
  Speaker 1: everyone can receive the Holy Spirit, the spirit of God.

  Speaker 1: Now the signs in verses nineteen and twenty look beyond
• 13:51
  Speaker 1: Pentecosts to the end of times, or should I say
• 14:01
  Speaker 1: that in times events? Like I believe that we're about
• 14:06
  Speaker 1: to see all these things in the time, the generation
• 14:11
  Speaker 1: we're living in right now. You see. At this point

  Speaker 1: Peter connects prophecy to the full plan of God, how
• 14:26
  Speaker 1: it plays out completely, and then his message shifts to
• 14:34
  Speaker 1: Jesus himself, his life, his miracles, and his crucifixion and
• 14:42
  Speaker 1: his resurrection. And then what he did with that is
• 14:49
  Speaker 1: he placed the responsibility on the crowd, but shows how
• 14:56
  Speaker 1: God was sovereign and how the will of God was
• 15:04
  Speaker 1: done even though the responsibility was placed on them. He said,
• 15:10
  Speaker 1: whom you crucify? And then he leaves off of something
• 15:18
  Speaker 1: that is very encouraging. He speaks about death, and he
• 15:23
  Speaker 1: says that it is not possible that he should be
• 15:27
  Speaker 1: held by it. Death has no authority over the sinless one. Amen.

  Speaker 1: The wages of sin is death. But Jesus is the
• 15:43
  Speaker 1: sinless one. Death has no authority, and death has no
• 15:50
  Speaker 1: jurisdiction over our Savior. And that follows over to us
• 15:56
  Speaker 1: as well. We do not have to fear death if
• 16:01
  Speaker 1: we choose to abide in Christ. Hey man, let's put

  Speaker 1: a praise right there all right, now, let me mention

  Speaker 1: something that is very powerful about this chapter. The Holy

  Speaker 1: Spirit will turn crowds into warriors. Right, the Holy Spirit

  Speaker 1: will turn nations into warriors. Look at Peter a few
• 16:40
  Speaker 1: weeks earlier. He was scared of the servant girl. Right
• 16:47
  Speaker 1: when the servant girl called him out, he denied Christ.
• 16:54
  Speaker 1: Now his preaching, he is preaching to thousands without fears. Hallelujah.

  Speaker 1: That's the dunamous power of the Holy Spirit that is

  Speaker 1: available unto us. What changed Pentecosts changed this man? Allelujah.

  Speaker 1: The Spirit did not make Peter perfect, but it made
• 17:25
  Speaker 1: Peter powerful. Now listen, when the Holy Spirit feels you,

  Speaker 1: he doesn't just give you tongues, right, The Holy Spirit

  Speaker 1: gives you boldness, clarity, and strength. If you're trying to
• 17:49
  Speaker 1: do this thing without the Holy Spirit, it's like trying
• 17:54
  Speaker 1: to drive a car without gas. Look how Peter preached, right,

  Speaker 1: Look how powerful it was. He explains what's happening to
• 18:07
  Speaker 1: the crowd. He goes straight to scripture. Then he points
• 18:17
  Speaker 1: everything back to Jesus, which any good preacher would do right,
• 18:22
  Speaker 1: instead of trying to take credit or take the glory.

  Speaker 1: What only belongs to God, and he calls people to salvation.

  Speaker 1: Now that is the model for kingdom ministry. To explain
• 18:44
  Speaker 1: what is happening. In other words, to expose the truth.

  Speaker 1: Jesus said, truth will set you free. And we need
• 18:53
  Speaker 1: to know and ask God what is the truth about
• 18:58
  Speaker 1: our situation, our circumstance. Ask God to show us our hearts.

  Speaker 1: Where is your heart today? What are you believing today?
• 19:10
  Speaker 1: We are able to deceive ourselves. We are able to
• 19:15
  Speaker 1: allow ourselves to walk away from God when we lean
• 19:21
  Speaker 1: to our own understanding and go our own way. So
• 19:26
  Speaker 1: we got to understand the truth about the situation. Then
• 19:31
  Speaker 1: we got to back it up with scripture, with the
• 19:33
  Speaker 1: word of God. We have to go and see what
• 19:36
  Speaker 1: God has to say about our situation, and then we
• 19:42
  Speaker 1: have to go to Christ because he is the only
• 19:45
  Speaker 1: one who can help us. This speaks of our prayer life.

  Speaker 1: Right we go to Christ. Those who call upon the
• 19:55
  Speaker 1: name of the Lord shall be saved. Right, and then

  Speaker 1: we call people to salvation. We invite others to participate

  Speaker 1: in this time of redemption. Amen. But here's the part

  Speaker 1: that shakes me. The same spirit given to Peter is

  Speaker 1: also given to you. You have access to that same

  Speaker 1: Holy spirit, courage, you have access to that. You just

  Speaker 1: have to stand up like Peter did. Amen. You just

  Speaker 1: have to stand up and access. It's like the apostle

  Speaker 1: heater in the midst of thousands. So whatever it is

  Speaker 1: that God has called you to do, remember he will

  Speaker 1: empower you to do it. First as for the power,

  Speaker 1: as for the grace, as for the favor, as for

  Speaker 1: were meant to do this in fellowship, to do it

  Speaker 1: in oneness, to support one another, to bless one another,

  Speaker 1: to help on another, to correct, if need be, to instruct.
