- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Playfake going to roll right, jumps.
- 0:06Speaker 3: It off into the right, flat to Michael Bumpers, who
- 0:08Speaker 3: bounces off of one tackler, gets inside the forty down
- 0:11Speaker 3: of the forty five yard line.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Powered by seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Matt pumpfakes looking at the gold line. He throws it
- 0:17Speaker 2: into the end zone.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Touchdown, Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpers with a diving catching
- 0:22Speaker 3: the end zone. A ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers,
- 0:26Speaker 3: and the kid out of Washington State has found himself.
- 0:29Speaker 2: A place on this team.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Now here's your host, Nasa Chopie.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:36Speaker 4: The Seahawks unfortunately fall in heartbreaking fashion at Looinfield of
- 0:40Speaker 4: the Minnesota Vikings twenty seven to twenty four. We are
- 0:43Speaker 4: broadcasting live from the Seahawks Podcast Studio, presented by Sony,
- 0:46Speaker 4: the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Bump My heart hurts, man, Yeah, I'm in pain still. Yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 2: it was it was close.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Man.
- 0:55Speaker 5: You went down to the wire to a team that
- 0:57Speaker 5: was twelve and two, the team that is a all
- 1:00Speaker 5: round good football team. They can run the rock. Not
- 1:02Speaker 5: the greatest have run it, but they can run it.
- 1:03Speaker 5: They can throw it. Defense has its spots where they
- 1:06Speaker 5: play well. It showed up on Sunday. You were in
- 1:09Speaker 5: the fight, and the worst part is that it felt
- 1:11Speaker 5: like you did it to yourself for the most part. Yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 5: but that's how you grow and that's how you learn.
- 1:15Speaker 5: The National Football League.
- 1:16Speaker 4: All these teams can play it, just it just stinks
- 1:19Speaker 4: because you're like, no, we're there, We're right there. It's
- 1:22Speaker 4: just not quite getting over the finish line. But it
- 1:24Speaker 4: is what it is we do. We're gonna spend some
- 1:26Speaker 4: time obviously talking about the Chicago Bears that are coming
- 1:28Speaker 4: up super quick. It's a short week, Seahawks playing on Thursday,
- 1:30Speaker 4: so we're gonna do a little combo, a little reaction,
- 1:32Speaker 4: and then a little preview of the Bears. But before
- 1:34Speaker 4: we get to the Bears, we got a break down
- 1:36Speaker 4: exactly what had happened.
- 1:40Speaker 5: See what had happened was what had happened at first
- 1:43Speaker 5: was what had happened was on Hawk Talk.
- 1:46Speaker 4: You mentioned a bump Seahawks win totaltel is one of
- 1:48Speaker 4: the best teams in the NFC, came up short and
- 1:52Speaker 4: it didn't start great. For the third week in a row,
- 1:54Speaker 4: there's been a little issues defensively where the Seahawks have
- 1:56Speaker 4: allowed a touchdown.
- 1:57Speaker 2: On the game's first possession.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Vikings went twelve plays, seven in the yards, which ended
- 2:00Speaker 4: with a five yard touchdown pass from Sam Darneld to
- 2:03Speaker 4: Jordan Addison that made the score seven to nothing. Both
- 2:06Speaker 4: teams would pun on the next two drive before the
- 2:08Speaker 4: offense got things going.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Yeah it was You saw that first drive and you're like,
- 2:11Speaker 5: come on now, not again, not two weeks in a row.
- 2:14Speaker 5: But things start to happen right like you mentioned. A
- 2:17Speaker 5: couple punts, team start to bounce back. Our team starts
- 2:20Speaker 5: to bounce back and Gino Smith. He then leads a
- 2:22Speaker 5: seven play eighty seven yard drive which ended in a
- 2:25Speaker 5: twenty five yard touchdown to DK. We needed to see
- 2:28Speaker 5: that good ball placement, DK going up and get it
- 2:31Speaker 5: in that tie at the game at seven after two
- 2:33Speaker 5: more puns by After two more punts, the Vikings will
- 2:36Speaker 5: find the end zone again when Sam Donald connected with
- 2:39Speaker 5: Justin Jefferson on a fourteen yard touchdown that made the
- 2:42Speaker 5: score fourteen to seven. That one was rough man. He
- 2:44Speaker 5: had Trey Brown and kind of lined up off sides.
- 2:47Speaker 5: He said he checked with the referee too, which blows
- 2:49Speaker 5: my mind. If he checks with the rep the naturally
- 2:51Speaker 5: he's going to back up. Then the next play they
- 2:53Speaker 5: go right back at him. The best receiver, arguably the
- 2:56Speaker 5: best receiver in the game, looks like he is.
- 2:58Speaker 4: No, that's a tough one, and technically the officials don't
- 3:01Speaker 4: have to tell you where you're on her offit. I
- 3:02Speaker 4: feel like it's the same way from going to high school,
- 3:05Speaker 4: middle school to college. But usually they'll at least give
- 3:07Speaker 4: you a not if you're clearly it's kind of light.
- 3:09Speaker 4: But that's a tough one because you know, Paul brought
- 3:12Speaker 4: up a great point because in that case, if he's
- 3:15Speaker 4: off sides, was the receiver actually on the line of scrimmage.
- 3:18Speaker 4: It's all subjective because, yeah, it's hard either way. The
- 3:22Speaker 4: Seahawks had a sack on the board, you're getting a stop.
- 3:24Speaker 4: That's four point swing right there. Of course, she doesn't
- 3:26Speaker 4: go your way, justin Jefferson gets in the end zone.
- 3:28Speaker 4: And then, to make matters worse, on the very next
- 3:30Speaker 4: offensive play, Gino Smith was intercepted deep in Seahawks territory.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Defense bounced back, though held strong, held the Vikings to
- 3:37Speaker 4: a field goal that made the score seventeen to seven,
- 3:40Speaker 4: and then after two more punts, the Seahawks would march
- 3:42Speaker 4: down the field in one minute five seconds eighty eight yards,
- 3:45Speaker 4: an amazing drive finishing with an eighteen yard touchdowns the Jackson,
- 3:48Speaker 4: Smith and Jigba that made the score seventeen to fourteen.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Head in the locker room. Jasn continue to do what
- 3:53Speaker 4: he does, and that's ball out.
- 3:54Speaker 5: I love that drive man Jason at three receptions, DK
- 3:57Speaker 5: had two and for the most part this year, the
- 4:00Speaker 5: Seahawks operate the best in those situations. Right, two minutes
- 4:04Speaker 5: lining up, let's get it so, like you said, seventeen
- 4:06Speaker 5: to fourteen going in a half and we're actually feeling
- 4:08Speaker 5: pretty good. It could have been a lot worse than
- 4:11Speaker 5: that situation. The Seahawks they kick a field goal of
- 4:14Speaker 5: their first possession of the second half, tiny game at seventeen.
- 4:17Speaker 5: The Vikings would answer with a field goal of their
- 4:19Speaker 5: own after an eight play ten yard drive, making a
- 4:23Speaker 5: score twenty to seventeen. After four straight punts, the Seahawks
- 4:26Speaker 5: would put together another really impressive drive. They go on
- 4:29Speaker 5: eleven plays sixty eight yards any with a Geno Smith
- 4:32Speaker 5: touchdown to AJ Barner in the back of the end zone,
- 4:35Speaker 5: which was a heck of a grab.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And the design of the play was good too.
- 4:39Speaker 5: JSN crossing the face of the safety and you have AJ.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Barner getting vertical playing the back line of the end zone.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Safety goes with Jackson Smith and Jigba boom aj up top.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Great touchdown.
- 4:50Speaker 5: It looked like almost like Tyree was that Tyree in
- 4:52Speaker 5: the Super Bowl with the Giants, Like he kind of
- 4:54Speaker 5: pinned it up here went down with it.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Nice to see eighty eight make a play.
- 4:57Speaker 4: No great play. And that was a fastball too. That
- 4:59Speaker 4: was a tough catch, harder than a looked on TV.
- 5:01Speaker 4: I mean, there's some degree difficulty there and Gino had
- 5:03Speaker 4: to put it in a tight window, so he threw
- 5:05Speaker 4: his fastball. So love to see that. Seahawks take the lead.
- 5:07Speaker 4: At that moment, you're feeling really good. They're up to
- 5:10Speaker 4: twenty four to twenty, their first lead of the game,
- 5:12Speaker 4: four minutes left in the ball game. You're thinking, Okay,
- 5:14Speaker 4: the defense is starting to play well. They just need
- 5:15Speaker 4: to stop. Unfortunately, four plays later, the Vikings were in
- 5:19Speaker 4: the end zone again after a thirty nine yard touchdown
- 5:21Speaker 4: of Justin Jefferson that made the score twenty seven to
- 5:23Speaker 4: twenty four Minnesota. And again the Seahawks has got bit
- 5:26Speaker 4: with two untimely penalties, this time Byron Murphy. And this
- 5:30Speaker 4: is one really hurts too, because again it's it didn't
- 5:33Speaker 4: It wasn't the reason there was a sack. It just
- 5:35Speaker 4: happened on the play Byron beats his guy gets it,
- 5:38Speaker 4: makes a big time play, gets a sack. Unfortunately, face
- 5:40Speaker 4: maxed on Sam Darnold, huge play, next play, touchdown Justin Jefferson.
- 5:45Speaker 4: And this is where the Mike McDonald spoke on his
- 5:48Speaker 4: radio show this morning. This is probably the toughest play
- 5:50Speaker 4: of the game. Seehawk get the ball back. There's plenty
- 5:52Speaker 4: of time to come back. Come down the field. Three
- 5:54Speaker 4: fifty one left in the game. They drive down to
- 5:56Speaker 4: the Vikings thirty seven yard line and then Gino Smith
- 5:59Speaker 4: is sacked. That puts the kind of puts them behind
- 6:02Speaker 4: the sticks. Then third and sixteen, you're no man's land.
- 6:05Speaker 4: They opt to go for a sixty yard field goal.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Jason Myers missed that and it was pretty unfortunate. And
- 6:10Speaker 4: we're just talking off their before he got on here.
- 6:12Speaker 4: You want to break down that play a little bit
- 6:13Speaker 4: what happened on the sack because coach MacDonald said that
- 6:15Speaker 4: was even more so in the interceptions that was the
- 6:17Speaker 4: biggest play the game.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that sack was crazy.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Man.
- 6:20Speaker 5: You go had DK and I believe no offense or
- 6:23Speaker 5: somebody was two by two formation. And what the Vikings
- 6:26Speaker 5: do early and downs downs one and two. They love
- 6:28Speaker 5: to sit in that pressure. So I know a lot
- 6:30Speaker 5: of people were thinking, oh, Greb, why didn't you run
- 6:32Speaker 5: the football there? I would have liked to run it,
- 6:33Speaker 5: but I understand why he threw the football there. So
- 6:37Speaker 5: if I'm looking at the defense, I'm genal the right side.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Man.
- 6:39Speaker 5: They're bringing pressures, bringing four against three. That means the
- 6:42Speaker 5: running backs has to step up and help with the stunt.
- 6:44Speaker 5: And the stunt was crazy man. You got the outside
- 6:46Speaker 5: backs hooping all the way in. You have your your
- 6:48Speaker 5: three tag going outside and you're bringing another backer. So
- 6:51Speaker 5: DK has a ten yard d called it dig roup.
- 6:54Speaker 5: And if DK were to just stop and sit in space,
- 6:57Speaker 5: he stayed away from that safety over there. But instead
- 7:00Speaker 5: DK just keeps going as almost like he drifts a
- 7:02Speaker 5: little bit. He's like dang am I getting the ball
- 7:03Speaker 5: and not getting the ball Gino. During that time he's
- 7:06Speaker 5: looking to his left side, nothing's there. He gets back
- 7:09Speaker 5: to the right side with time to get the ball
- 7:11Speaker 5: to DK, but then the pressure just gets to him.
- 7:14Speaker 2: He's got to tuck it. It's a sack.
- 7:15Speaker 5: I understand people's frustration with him, but if you know
- 7:19Speaker 5: the Vikings their tendencies, you might call it the play
- 7:22Speaker 5: that grubbed his calls. And we're going to attack the
- 7:24Speaker 5: part of the field. I think they're going to bring
- 7:26Speaker 5: pressure from it was there. You just didn't have time.
- 7:28Speaker 5: You even had the protection. You just couldn't hold up
- 7:31Speaker 5: long enough to let the football go.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's unfortunate because you were in field goal
- 7:35Speaker 4: rangeos right on the list, not like Meyers missed by
- 7:38Speaker 4: seven yards. It was right there. If you don't lose
- 7:40Speaker 4: that seven yards in that play, you know. But it
- 7:43Speaker 4: didn't end the game though, because after that the Sea
- 7:45Speaker 4: defense comes up big one more time, get to stop.
- 7:48Speaker 2: But on that final drive bump false start to start.
- 7:50Speaker 4: It, and then Gino's intercepted after some miscommunication with him.
- 7:54Speaker 2: DK Metcalf.
- 7:54Speaker 4: You alluded to it as well on your show today
- 7:56Speaker 4: that it's just it's just a tough situation.
- 7:58Speaker 2: A lot went on.
- 7:59Speaker 4: There's a another good stunt by this Vikings defense pressure
- 8:02Speaker 4: right away, Gino has to go the ball before DKs
- 8:05Speaker 4: in and out of his break and then unfortunately he's intercepted.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And now is all she wrote for the Seahawks.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Yeah, tough way in that game, but you had a chance,
- 8:12Speaker 5: you had a chance to win, and end of the day,
- 8:15Speaker 5: that's all you can ask for the Seahawks out getting
- 8:17Speaker 5: the Vikings three hundred sixty one to two ninety eight
- 8:19Speaker 5: held the Vikings below their average when it comes to
- 8:22Speaker 5: all around yards. They had two turnovers and the Vikings
- 8:25Speaker 5: had none of The Seahawks are also penalized eleven times
- 8:27Speaker 5: for seventy seven yards. They were so crucial, man, so
- 8:30Speaker 5: it almost seemed like every time there was a penalty
- 8:32Speaker 5: there was a big play that followed after that for
- 8:34Speaker 5: the Vikings. Justin Jefferson he had one hundred and forty
- 8:37Speaker 5: four yards on tim receptions and two touchdowns. Sam Darnold
- 8:40Speaker 5: twenty two or thirty five two fifty six, three touchdowns,
- 8:43Speaker 5: zero interceptions. Now they need to beat the Bears, Rams
- 8:47Speaker 5: need to lose to the Cardinals and then you square
- 8:50Speaker 5: up on Week eight. Team and see even get her done.
- 8:53Speaker 5: But need some help. Yeah, I know it's unfortunate. It's
- 8:55Speaker 5: the thirty year in a row.
- 8:56Speaker 4: The seahawshould need a little bit of help going to
- 8:58Speaker 4: the last couple weeks of the season. It is what
- 9:00Speaker 4: it is. They can only control what they can't control.
- 9:03Speaker 4: There's a couple crazy other scenarios. I don't even get
- 9:05Speaker 4: into all of that because I don't even know them.
- 9:07Speaker 4: All The playoff serious something especially come out. But the
- 9:10Speaker 4: easiest thing for everyone is Cardinals beat the Rams. You
- 9:13Speaker 4: beat the Bears and the Rams, he'll be in the playoffs.
- 9:16Speaker 4: So that's what happened. But there was some people who
- 9:18Speaker 4: made plays. Let's get to the playmakers.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Touch up. Playmakers told him.
- 9:27Speaker 2: What time it is? Ho wait, we're broadcasting.
- 9:33Speaker 4: We are broadcasting from the Seahawks Podcast Studio of Zenda
- 9:35Speaker 4: by Sony, the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks Bump
- 9:38Speaker 4: and we will start with Geno Smith. Thirty one to
- 9:41Speaker 4: forty three, three hundred and fourteen yards. He did have
- 9:43Speaker 4: three touchdowns. He did have the other two interceptions. He
- 9:46Speaker 4: did Tye Russell Wilson for the most three hundred yard
- 9:48Speaker 4: passing games in a season in franchise history with five.
- 9:52Speaker 2: So there's obviously a little bit of bad, but there's
- 9:54Speaker 2: so much good.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Gino through some dimes in there, the throw he had
- 9:58Speaker 4: the js San, he makes that catch to throw to
- 9:59Speaker 4: AJ keeping the Seahawks in the game. It's unfortunate the
- 10:02Speaker 4: interceptions that happened, but they're right there at the end
- 10:04Speaker 4: of the game, and Coach McDonald talks about it. He's
- 10:07Speaker 4: just combatting his combatant, you know, competing do everything he
- 10:10Speaker 4: can to stay in this football game. That kind of
- 10:12Speaker 4: shows you his character. It just sucks that he, you know,
- 10:14Speaker 4: couldn't pull it out. I was thinking he's gonna have
- 10:16Speaker 4: that Geno Smith magic at the end of games all
- 10:18Speaker 4: this game time, game winning drives. Unfortunately that wasn't in
- 10:21Speaker 4: the cards. But Geno again, still still making a lot
- 10:23Speaker 4: of players out there.
- 10:24Speaker 2: He's having himself a good year.
- 10:25Speaker 5: I mean, I know, the interceptions stick out and they
- 10:27Speaker 5: should fifteen right, seventeen touchdowns, fifteen interceptions, but still throwing
- 10:31Speaker 5: for thirty nine hundred yards right now, completing seventy percent
- 10:34Speaker 5: of his passes. He's got four game winning drives this year.
- 10:37Speaker 5: I mean, goodness, gracious, what else can this man do?
- 10:40Speaker 5: But Yeah, it's been a good season and a tough
- 10:43Speaker 5: season at the same time for Geno. Jayson is having
- 10:46Speaker 5: his best season in his short two year career. Eight receptions,
- 10:49Speaker 5: ninety five yards in one touchdown, he says. The eighth
- 10:51Speaker 5: game in a row, Jason has led the Seahawks in receiving.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Jason also became the tenth player in franchise history to
- 10:57Speaker 5: record a one thousand yard season. There was a time
- 11:00Speaker 5: during this year where people were questioning whether he was
- 11:03Speaker 5: worth the twentieth pig. Sounds pretty funny, now, yeah, I
- 11:05Speaker 5: mean you sound silly at this point because JSN is
- 11:08Speaker 5: the number one option. He's a go to guy. He's
- 11:10Speaker 5: been reliable. I'm happy to see him ball. I was
- 11:13Speaker 5: happy to see this guy get some love too. DK metcalf.
- 11:16Speaker 5: I know, only three receptions, but fifty seven yards, one touchdown,
- 11:20Speaker 5: the first touchdown since Week seven against Atlanta.
- 11:23Speaker 2: That's crazy, but he made some history.
- 11:25Speaker 5: DK pass Steve Largin for the most receiving touchdowns into
- 11:28Speaker 5: players first six seasons in franchise history with forty seven.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 4: No, it's great to see DK part of this offense.
- 11:34Speaker 4: We talked about it on the preview podcast. The Seahawks
- 11:37Speaker 4: are after best. When DK metcalf is making explosive plays
- 11:40Speaker 4: down the field and he's evolved in this offense. You
- 11:42Speaker 4: put that combination with Jackson to the Jag but usually
- 11:44Speaker 4: good things happen there. So big ups the DK on
- 11:47Speaker 4: his game yesterday. And then defensively, I think this is
- 11:49Speaker 4: kind of underrated. He probably didn't get a lot of
- 11:51Speaker 4: attention for how he played there today, but Jared Reed
- 11:53Speaker 4: four tackles, one sack, one TfL, two quarterback hits, one
- 11:57Speaker 4: passes defended. He also got to do his tribute to
- 12:00Speaker 4: Michael Bennett. I liked that after the sack dance. So
- 12:02Speaker 4: I love what Jay Reid's doing. He's a veteran sending
- 12:05Speaker 4: a good example for the young guy, so it's good
- 12:06Speaker 4: to see him kind.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Of ball out.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yeah, this guy needed today. Reek Willing two tackles, three
- 12:11Speaker 5: passes defended. People are pointing to that touchdown that was
- 12:15Speaker 5: given up. Thirty nine yard touchdown of Justin Jefferson wasn't
- 12:18Speaker 5: necessarily Rieg's fault and was covered two. He forced him inside.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Justin Jefferson like he's supposed to. Safety was just late
- 12:24Speaker 5: over the top to help out. I think Reek had
- 12:26Speaker 5: himself a decent game didn't start, so I was, I was.
- 12:30Speaker 5: I liked his resilience. How he just bounced back and
- 12:32Speaker 5: still made some plays. He had two tackles, three passes defended.
- 12:35Speaker 5: So big up to Reek too.
- 12:36Speaker 4: No, I like that when things happened, he had a
- 12:37Speaker 4: great attitude, got out there and made some play.
- 12:39Speaker 2: So again, another guy.
- 12:40Speaker 4: The Seahawks rare at their best when he's out in
- 12:42Speaker 4: the field making plays, and love to see him doing that.
- 12:45Speaker 4: But let's uh, we've done it. We talked about it.
- 12:48Speaker 4: We've moved past the Vikings.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Game, moving on in the past. Yeap, what's on tap?
- 12:55Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 12:56Speaker 4: Chicago Bears four in eleven, last place in the NFC
- 13:00Speaker 4: North bump and their season. Let me tell you, man,
- 13:03Speaker 4: they're four and eleven, But it didn't start out that bad.
- 13:05Speaker 2: We're going hot. There were four and two.
- 13:07Speaker 4: They had wins over the Titans, Rams, Panthers, and Jaguars,
- 13:11Speaker 4: the losses of Texans and Colts, and then things kind
- 13:13Speaker 4: of went off a cliff.
- 13:14Speaker 2: They have lost nine games in a row.
- 13:16Speaker 4: They fired their head coach, Matt Eberflus after that Thanksgiving
- 13:19Speaker 4: Day game and kind of the fiasca that happened at
- 13:21Speaker 4: the end of the game with clock management. Thomas Brown
- 13:23Speaker 4: is now the interim head coach and he's had a
- 13:25Speaker 4: ride soart of the year as the passing game coordinator.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Then takes over as offensive coordinator after let Shane Waldron go,
- 13:31Speaker 4: and now he's the acting head coach.
- 13:32Speaker 2: So the Bears are the fastest climb in NFL history. Yeah,
- 13:37Speaker 2: good for y'all. I guess enjoy it why you can.
- 13:39Speaker 2: But he's uh, has been much better. He's been on
- 13:41Speaker 2: three since he took over.
- 13:42Speaker 4: The last three games, the Bears have been outscored by
- 13:44Speaker 4: a combined one two to forty two.
- 13:47Speaker 5: So it's been it's been rough. Bump, oh we it's been. Yeah,
- 13:49Speaker 5: it's been rough for these Bears. But you know they
- 13:51Speaker 5: got talent. Man, We're gonna talk about Caleb. He's not
- 13:53Speaker 5: having a horrible No, he's not. He's having a scene
- 13:56Speaker 5: as in Jane Daniels is happening. That's that's all that is.
- 13:59Speaker 5: But the Bears took on the lines yesterday. The Bears
- 14:03Speaker 5: failed to the Lions thirty four to seventeen. It was
- 14:05Speaker 5: all lines from the start as they jumped out to
- 14:08Speaker 5: a twenty to zero lead in the first half. The
- 14:10Speaker 5: Bears tried to keep things interesting, adding two touchdowns in
- 14:12Speaker 5: the second quarter, but if Sam laporta touchdown early in
- 14:15Speaker 5: the fourth quarter put the game out of reach.
- 14:17Speaker 2: And I love the play design.
- 14:19Speaker 5: I heard it at first, and I heard people talking
- 14:21Speaker 5: about it in describing game. Then I saw it Jared
- 14:24Speaker 5: Goff and gives it a great job selling it. So
- 14:27Speaker 5: what happens is Jared Golf pretends like he's stumbling, falling down,
- 14:31Speaker 5: gives falls down to the ground, get Laporter starting on
- 14:34Speaker 5: the right side of the formation, crossing all the way
- 14:36Speaker 5: to the left up the seam. The linebackers are frozen
- 14:38Speaker 5: because they're looking at the backfield, and you go over
- 14:40Speaker 5: at the top and they score easy touchdown. It's the
- 14:43Speaker 5: things the Lions do. It's almost like it's not supposed
- 14:47Speaker 5: to happen, like not supposed to work during the week
- 14:49Speaker 5: to prepare for stuff. Every time I see something this
- 14:51Speaker 5: like where do you get the time?
- 14:52Speaker 2: Man? Where do you get it? It's it's wild.
- 14:54Speaker 5: But yeah, they pulled it off and Jared Golf had
- 14:57Speaker 5: a solid day. Twenty three or thirty two hundred and
- 15:00Speaker 5: thirty six yards, three touchdowns, zero interceptions. Gibbs first game
- 15:04Speaker 5: without Montgomery, right, Yeah, so Gibbs, you know, he got
- 15:07Speaker 5: the bulk of the carries one o nine for one touchdown.
- 15:10Speaker 2: He had Williams.
- 15:10Speaker 5: He led all receivers one hundred and fall they at
- 15:12Speaker 5: three on five receptions, including an eighty two yard touchdown.
- 15:16Speaker 5: I just found out, are just realized Randall l is
- 15:18Speaker 5: his wide receiver coach.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, So when.
- 15:20Speaker 5: I saw Antoine Randa L getting hyped, that's like childhood
- 15:23Speaker 5: for me. He might be like the first and second
- 15:24Speaker 5: jersey ever guy was Antoine Randa L. It was cool
- 15:27Speaker 5: to see him on the sideline with the Lions man
- 15:30Speaker 5: four hundred and seventy five yards of total offense. Caleb
- 15:33Speaker 5: was twenty six to forty for the Bears, three hundred
- 15:35Speaker 5: and thirty four yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, but he
- 15:38Speaker 5: led the team in rushing with twenty four yards.
- 15:41Speaker 4: That's not great. That's not gonna get it done. Antoine
- 15:43Speaker 4: Rendell fantastic player. I do have bad memories. I got
- 15:49Speaker 4: to see the play still, But anyway, he's like a
- 15:53Speaker 4: stand up dude, great ball coach. I loved him on
- 15:56Speaker 4: the Thanksgivin D game because I think I think it
- 15:58Speaker 4: was Jameson Williams was he getting out and he was
- 16:00Speaker 4: letting and it was like a child talking to the kid.
- 16:04Speaker 5: Yeah, don't you say one more anyway, So no, they
- 16:09Speaker 5: took care of business there. We know what the lines are,
- 16:12Speaker 5: lines of good football team. But the Bears in a
- 16:15Speaker 5: point right now where they're just in a downhill spiral
- 16:18Speaker 5: and they have a good players. So they said we're
- 16:20Speaker 5: gonna talk about but it seems like last couple weeks
- 16:22Speaker 5: they get big down, big early and it's kind of
- 16:24Speaker 5: a wrap from then on. So we'll get into all
- 16:27Speaker 5: those guys coming up here in a second. But these
- 16:29Speaker 5: two teams have played, you know, dese amount of times
- 16:32Speaker 5: over the years.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Let's know the history, No your history.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Seahawks lead the all time series eleven to eight, eleven
- 16:39Speaker 4: and six in the regular season, owns to you in
- 16:41Speaker 4: the postseason, and the Bears have won the last two
- 16:43Speaker 4: games now. The last one this came in twenty twenty one.
- 16:47Speaker 4: The Seahawks lost to Loominfield twenty five to twenty four,
- 16:49Speaker 4: Week sixteen of twenty twenty one Bump and this game
- 16:53Speaker 4: was tough for a lot of reasons. This is year again.
- 16:55Speaker 4: Russell Wilson broke his finger. The Seahawks playoffs were hanging
- 16:58Speaker 4: by threat. They're essentially out of it, but they weren't
- 17:00Speaker 4: mathematically out of it.
- 17:01Speaker 2: At that point.
- 17:02Speaker 4: They were also playing their second game in five days
- 17:04Speaker 4: because for whatever reason, we moved the Rams game to
- 17:08Speaker 4: a Tuesday to accommodate the Rams because they had some
- 17:10Speaker 4: COVID issues crazy, which messed us up because then we
- 17:12Speaker 4: actually lost players. Sorry I don't need to reopen that
- 17:17Speaker 4: old wound, but anyway, so they were playing two games
- 17:20Speaker 4: and then there was a snowstorm.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Do you remember that. For a while after the pregame
- 17:23Speaker 2: show that day, I thought it was just gonna be
- 17:24Speaker 2: me and you, yep, because there was stuck.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Goodness gracious, so it wasn't a great deal. And then
- 17:29Speaker 4: on the field the Seahawks blew with seventeen to seven lead.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Nick Foles started that game for injured rookie Justin Fields,
- 17:35Speaker 4: and he led them on a game winning drive at
- 17:37Speaker 4: the end of that game and cooked up with Jimmy
- 17:39Speaker 4: Grant for that touchdown and then they got the two
- 17:41Speaker 4: point conversion with stealing that victory. Russell was sixteen to
- 17:44Speaker 4: twenty seven one eight one, two touchdowns, and there were
- 17:47Speaker 4: shot Penny big Day seventeen carries, one thirty five, one touchdown,
- 17:51Speaker 4: Gerald Everett leading all receivers, and Bobby Record set a
- 17:55Speaker 4: franchise record in tackles. He had that broken by Jordan
- 17:57Speaker 4: Brooks next year. Then he went back and tied it
- 17:59Speaker 4: the following your after that again twenty twenty weddings and
- 18:02Speaker 4: seen that long ago. But every time we talk about it,
- 18:04Speaker 4: all the guys we're talking about are on this ball
- 18:06Speaker 4: club anymore.
- 18:07Speaker 5: It's you mentioned it during the pregame show, our postgame
- 18:11Speaker 5: show on Sunday. How these are completely different rosters. That's
- 18:16Speaker 5: how quick things change in the NFL. It's hard to
- 18:20Speaker 5: create Super Bowl championship teams.
- 18:23Speaker 2: But the turnover in the league is crazy.
- 18:25Speaker 5: So if you make it to your second contract, anybody
- 18:28Speaker 5: make it to the second contract, big ups to them
- 18:30Speaker 5: for sure.
- 18:31Speaker 4: All Right, let's look in the division. It was not
- 18:33Speaker 4: a good week for Seahawk fans. Anybody will give you
- 18:35Speaker 4: an update on the NFC West, what's the word and
- 18:42Speaker 4: the Seahawks?
- 18:42Speaker 2: So the NFC West champs again, what's the word in
- 18:46Speaker 2: the West? On Hawk talk?
- 18:49Speaker 5: Unfortunately, the Rams won this past weekend.
- 18:52Speaker 2: They beat the Jets. There now ninety six.
- 18:53Speaker 5: The Seahawks lose, they are eight and seven, the Cardinals
- 18:56Speaker 5: are seven and eight, and the San Francisco forty Niners
- 18:59Speaker 5: the bottom of the division at six and nine. As
- 19:03Speaker 5: we mentioned earlier, the Seahawks do not control their own
- 19:06Speaker 5: destiny when it comes to making the playoffs. The Seahawks
- 19:08Speaker 5: needs to win on Thursday and the Rams need to
- 19:11Speaker 5: lose to the Cardinals on Saturday for the Seahawks have
- 19:13Speaker 5: a real shot at winning the division. Not a great
- 19:16Speaker 5: weekend for the Seahawks and their fans.
- 19:19Speaker 4: No, no, it wasn't. We didn't get any help at all,
- 19:22Speaker 4: you know. And it's been brought to my attention that technically,
- 19:26Speaker 4: if the Seahawks and Rams both finished at ten and seven,
- 19:28Speaker 4: there might be still a chance for the Seahawks. But
- 19:30Speaker 4: it's like seventeen million tie breakers, and it's depending on
- 19:33Speaker 4: common opponents, strength of victory, all kinds of stuff. So
- 19:36Speaker 4: it's a lot easier if the Seahawks win and the
- 19:40Speaker 4: Rams loose, and then it's just squat up for the
- 19:43Speaker 4: division title. So we'll see. But leave Daron Rodgers, bump,
- 19:46Speaker 4: Leave Darreon Rodgers this point. Seaff fans everywhere gave you
- 19:49Speaker 4: just enough hope to think they were going to pull
- 19:51Speaker 4: off the upset, but it was not the case. Jets
- 19:53Speaker 4: that go down on their first possession fourteen plays, ninety
- 19:56Speaker 4: nine yards anyone touchdown on Devonte Adams, they would mix
- 20:00Speaker 4: the extra point, which could have been foreshadowing. They go
- 20:03Speaker 4: into the halftime with a nine to six lead, but
- 20:05Speaker 4: they would not score another point the rest of the game.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Rams score thirteen fourth quarter points to win nineteen to nine.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Stafford was just fourteen to nineteen, four hundred and ten
- 20:13Speaker 4: yards and a touchdown, one interception. Kyrain Williams started the
- 20:16Speaker 4: show one hundred and twenty two yards on twenty three carries,
- 20:19Speaker 4: one touchdown, and then pooking a cool of fifty six
- 20:21Speaker 4: yards on eight receptions. Aaron Rodgers twenty eight of forty
- 20:25Speaker 4: two two fifty six, one touchdown, zero interceptions, and DeVante
- 20:29Speaker 4: finished the day seven receptions sixty yards when touchdown. The
- 20:32Speaker 4: end of the day, bump, go Cardinals, and that the
- 20:35Speaker 4: last time. I say that be the last time.
- 20:38Speaker 5: And let's your child goes to Stanford and you say,
- 20:43Speaker 5: go Cardinal.
- 20:44Speaker 4: You might say that, or if we're in a weird
- 20:47Speaker 4: strength of victory conversation, and we need the Cardinals to
- 20:49Speaker 4: beat the forty nine ers a week eighteen, then that'll
- 20:51Speaker 4: be the only other time.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's crazy.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Don't make your heads spend so many scenarios, all right,
- 20:57Speaker 5: So then we have the forty nine whers at the Dolphins.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Dolphins kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a twenty
- 21:03Speaker 5: nine to seventeen victory over the forty nine Ers. After
- 21:06Speaker 5: losing an overtime in the Super Bowl last year, the
- 21:09Speaker 5: Niners are officially eliminated from the playoffs. How quickly things change.
- 21:13Speaker 5: The forty nine Ers tried to keep it close, trailing
- 21:15Speaker 5: two in the fourth, but the Dolphins will score the
- 21:17Speaker 5: game's final ten points for the victory. Brock Perty was
- 21:20Speaker 5: twenty six to forty three hundred and thirteen yards, two touchdowns,
- 21:23Speaker 5: one interception. DeVonta a Chen was one hundred and ninety
- 21:27Speaker 5: total yards and a touchdown. What are they gonna do
- 21:30Speaker 5: with Perdy? That's gonna be an interesting offseason for the Niners.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah, man, Yeah, I don't know.
- 21:35Speaker 4: It's because it's more about how does Shanahan and them
- 21:38Speaker 4: feel about party? Now that you've gotten to see what
- 21:40Speaker 4: it looks like when all the stars.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Are in the ligne. You don't have Healthycaffrey.
- 21:43Speaker 4: You don't have a healthy Ayuk, you don't have you know,
- 21:46Speaker 4: a Kittles dealt with stuff.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Deebo's up and down. It'll be interesting.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I mean, I think it's he's proven he can play, yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 4: but it'll be interesting to see if he gets that
- 21:53Speaker 4: bag he gets paid.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Because you know, Sam Darnold's floating around out there. He
- 21:58Speaker 2: was in San Francisco last year. System.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Who knows. That'll be an off season conversation. But let's
- 22:04Speaker 4: flip our attention back to the Chicago Bears.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Man up, Hey, who you got? Who you got? You
- 22:10Speaker 2: know what time it is? Man up man up? Brother,
- 22:12Speaker 2: man up man up?
- 22:14Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Caleb Williams bumpy a little to it. He's having a
- 22:18Speaker 4: pretty good season all things considered. Obviously they're four and eleven.
- 22:21Speaker 4: But obviously, if you're a college football fan, you know
- 22:23Speaker 4: about Caleb Williams for his time in Oklahoma and then
- 22:26Speaker 4: at usc where he won the Heisman Trophy playing for
- 22:30Speaker 4: Lincoln Riley Nuts year over forty five hundred passing yards,
- 22:33Speaker 4: forty two touchdowns, five interceptions, ran for three hundred and
- 22:36Speaker 4: two yards.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Was that dude?
- 22:38Speaker 4: Little dip in production that next year, but he still
- 22:40Speaker 4: finishes two years in the se with seventy two touchdowns,
- 22:43Speaker 4: ten interceptions, first overall pick two of the Chicago Bears,
- 22:47Speaker 4: and honestly, do you remember all the conversations in the
- 22:49Speaker 4: off season that he was going to the best situation, the.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Situation that at first round, first overall pick has ever
- 22:54Speaker 2: been to.
- 22:54Speaker 4: And on paper it look that way because they have
- 22:56Speaker 4: some dudes were about to talk about all these guys,
- 22:58Speaker 4: but it obviously didn't go that way. He's had multiple coaches,
- 23:01Speaker 4: multiple play callers already in his rookie season, and he's
- 23:04Speaker 4: played behind twenty one different offensive line combinations this season,
- 23:09Speaker 4: which is nuts bump but has been all bad. He
- 23:12Speaker 4: has been attempted three hundred and twenty six straight passes
- 23:14Speaker 4: without an interception, the sixth longest single season stretch in
- 23:17Speaker 4: NFL history, registering the longest such marked by any player
- 23:20Speaker 4: in Bears history and by any rookie passer in league history.
- 23:24Speaker 4: With his four to three hundredard game, Cables now tied
- 23:26Speaker 4: with the most games above three hundred passing yards in
- 23:29Speaker 4: a single season in franchise history. I mean, he's done
- 23:33Speaker 4: a lot this year. Already for a guy who's had
- 23:35Speaker 4: to deal with all this kind of adversity. The talents there,
- 23:37Speaker 4: you can see it, and he's actually playing some decent football.
- 23:40Speaker 5: He's taking care of the rock and he's got some
- 23:42Speaker 5: weapons over there. He was thrusting into the best situation
- 23:45Speaker 5: a rookie could be him with the players. There's people upstairs,
- 23:49Speaker 5: people signing checks, people call him plays that influence what's
- 23:53Speaker 5: going on there. That's what the Bears have to fix.
- 23:55Speaker 5: They're not going to fix it this year. Obviously, two
- 23:58Speaker 5: games left, but he's gonna be okay in this league.
- 24:01Speaker 5: I'm not worried about Caleb at all.
- 24:03Speaker 2: No, let me look at his numbers.
- 24:04Speaker 4: He's three fourteen of five h five three thousand, two
- 24:08Speaker 4: hundred seventy one yards, nineteen touchdowns to five interceptions. You
- 24:10Speaker 4: talk about if you're taking care of the football, that's great,
- 24:13Speaker 4: and he's doing this.
- 24:14Speaker 2: He's been sacked sixty times this year. Dude, it's him
- 24:18Speaker 2: Stroud and Gino.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw today, knows I think forty nine hmm, yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 4: not the best number. But again, to do what he's
- 24:25Speaker 4: doing with what's going on, you know, he's playing well
- 24:28Speaker 4: and for the Seahawks this week.
- 24:31Speaker 2: You need to make him look like a rookie.
- 24:33Speaker 4: He needs to be in a situation where he sacked
- 24:35Speaker 4: four or five different times, where he's in a position
- 24:37Speaker 4: to put the ball for grabs.
- 24:39Speaker 2: And earlier last year, in this year.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Jared Goff had a crazy street coming in and playing
- 24:42Speaker 4: the Seahawks game FO fifteen or something like that.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Josh Allen hadn't been intercepted in a super long time.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Josh on Josh crime, Joe got him, job got him.
- 24:50Speaker 4: So I'm hoping we can channel some of the energy
- 24:52Speaker 4: this week and Sea Austa take care of this.
- 24:53Speaker 2: There, I'm with you there, make him look like a rookie.
- 24:56Speaker 5: Toss the football up, do something you haven't done in
- 24:58Speaker 5: over three hundred passes. Will just throw an in interception.
- 25:01Speaker 5: Let's look at our quarterback Geno Smith. He has played hard,
- 25:04Speaker 5: and he played hard against the Vikings.
- 25:07Speaker 2: He did a good job.
- 25:08Speaker 5: He dropped a dime to aj Barney, got Jaysenevolve, he
- 25:11Speaker 5: got DK involved in three hundred yards passing. He's now
- 25:14Speaker 5: tied for the most enfranchise history in a season five
- 25:17Speaker 5: times doing that tide with Russell Wilson on the year
- 25:19Speaker 5: thirty nine hundred and thirty seven yards, seventeen touchdowns, fifteen interceptions,
- 25:23Speaker 5: two hundred and thirty nine yards on forty eight carries,
- 25:26Speaker 5: and two touchdowns. When you look at him appost all
- 25:29Speaker 5: the other quarterbacks, he's third in the league in passing yards, fourth,
- 25:32Speaker 5: tie for fourth when it comes to completion percentage, second
- 25:35Speaker 5: in completions, fourth in attempts going up against the Barrister
- 25:39Speaker 5: twenty six. In overall defense, they're twenty third against the pass.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Might be set up for Gino to have himself another day.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Maybe he owns the franchise record for passing yards or
- 25:48Speaker 5: three hundred passing yard games. If he does it this week,
- 25:52Speaker 5: that'll give him six and but he have to deal
- 25:54Speaker 5: with Montes Sweat and Gervin Dexter Junior Sweat. He's a
- 25:57Speaker 5: former first round pick to the Commanders in twenty nine team,
- 26:00Speaker 5: he's still playing some good football. Twenty nine tackles, four
- 26:03Speaker 5: and a half sacks, eight TFLs, one forced fumble, two
- 26:06Speaker 5: passes defendant. In Dexter Senior leads a team with five sacks,
- 26:09Speaker 5: forty four tackles, one pass defendant. The Bears ring third
- 26:13Speaker 5: in NFL in the NFL an opponent red zone touchdown percentage.
- 26:18Speaker 2: It's the NFL. Every team's gonna be good at something, right, Yeah, No,
- 26:21Speaker 2: they have their Yeah.
- 26:22Speaker 4: The one nice thing about the Bears is, for the
- 26:24Speaker 4: first time in two weeks we're not playing a team
- 26:26Speaker 4: that is.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Over the top good at taking the ball away. Yeah.
- 26:29Speaker 4: The Bears their interception numbers, I think their leader has
- 26:31Speaker 4: two or three. So it's not the Vikings and it's
- 26:33Speaker 4: not the Packers, which is good.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:35Speaker 4: Monte Swift the baller. He with Pro Bowler twenty twenty three,
- 26:38Speaker 4: so he can play. So the Seahawks will still have
- 26:40Speaker 4: their work cutout for them on defense. And let's go
- 26:42Speaker 4: over to their running back, DeAndre Swift taking on the
- 26:45Speaker 4: Seahawks front seven. And DeAndre he's been on three teams
- 26:48Speaker 4: in three years, and normally that's not a good sign, right,
- 26:51Speaker 4: But the.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Dude is playing good football because the lack of production.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Swift is coming off a career year in twenty twenty
- 26:56Speaker 4: three with the Eagles, where he rushed for one thousand
- 26:58Speaker 4: yards and six touchdowns.
- 27:00Speaker 2: He's also voted to the Pro Bowl for the first time.
- 27:02Speaker 4: He's total of five rushing touchdowns in his fourth straight
- 27:04Speaker 4: season with three rushing scores eclipsing thirty five yards.
- 27:07Speaker 2: It's the third most in the NFL.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Since Week four, Swift has told the one thousand and
- 27:11Speaker 4: eighty five scrimmage yards top ten in my running backs
- 27:13Speaker 4: and he's sixty four scrimmag yards away from a career
- 27:16Speaker 4: high there, so he's playing good football bump. He's also
- 27:19Speaker 4: a dual threat through the air. He's got seventeen hundred
- 27:22Speaker 4: and seventy career receiving yards, as fourthmost by any player
- 27:25Speaker 4: in that span on the year, eight hundred and forty
- 27:28Speaker 4: one yards, five touchdowns, and he's also got thirty eight
- 27:30Speaker 4: receptions three hundred and fifty eight yards. Seahawks had a
- 27:33Speaker 4: good performance on the ground against the Vikings. Aaron Jones
- 27:35Speaker 4: is a good football player. He didn't do much. He
- 27:37Speaker 4: had sixty seven yards on eighteen carries. Seahawks are eighteenth
- 27:41Speaker 4: overall against the run one hundred and twenty four yards
- 27:43Speaker 4: per game. So hopefully they can continue that trend and
- 27:46Speaker 4: shut him down and not give Caleb Williams another part
- 27:49Speaker 4: of his offense to kind of help him out.
- 27:51Speaker 5: Would he say twenty four yards rushing for Caleb last week?
- 27:54Speaker 2: All right?
- 27:55Speaker 5: Leave the team again with about twenty five I'll give
- 27:57Speaker 5: you twenty five.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I'll give you twenty five. Oh, okay, that's fine, that's fine.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Look at their receivers.
- 28:01Speaker 5: They got a good trio man Dj Moore, romanduze Keenan Allen.
- 28:04Speaker 5: All these guys can ball. Dj Moore as their leading receiver.
- 28:07Speaker 5: He has thirteen hundred yards and eight touchdowns with his
- 28:12Speaker 5: first season with the Bears, a sneaky thirteen hundred Yeah. No,
- 28:16Speaker 5: it started off rough though well in twenty twenty three.
- 28:18Speaker 5: Twenty twenty three, about to say, who I read that wrong? Okay,
- 28:21Speaker 5: last year was his first year with the Bears.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Boom.
- 28:23Speaker 5: I was gonna say, I remember this year there being
- 28:25Speaker 5: like some problems with him getting the football.
- 28:26Speaker 2: So he's beated up a little bit.
- 28:28Speaker 5: But yeah, it was a thirteen hundred yards eighteen touchdowns
- 28:32Speaker 5: last year. Since joining the league in twenty eighteen, More
- 28:34Speaker 5: has seven three hundred and ninety one receiving yards.
- 28:38Speaker 2: And he's bawling.
- 28:39Speaker 5: He's he's compete with guys like Justin Jefferson and they
- 28:42Speaker 5: came in during the same year. And whenever you're being
- 28:44Speaker 5: talked about with Justin Jefferson, you're doing something right. This
- 28:47Speaker 5: year eighty three receptions, eight hundred and twenty six yards
- 28:50Speaker 5: and five touchdowns. Then you got the og Keenan Allen,
- 28:54Speaker 5: one of the best route runners in the game. He's
- 28:57Speaker 5: been the league since twenty thirteen, started back with the
- 29:00Speaker 5: San Diego Chargers. Yeah, that's how old my man is,
- 29:03Speaker 5: all right. He ranks third in receptions among active players
- 29:06Speaker 5: nine hundred and sixty six and fifth in receiving yards
- 29:09Speaker 5: eleven two hundred and twenty four. Alan also he owns
- 29:14Speaker 5: the most games with twelve plus catches in one hundred
- 29:16Speaker 5: yards receiving in NFL history, with twelve of them things,
- 29:19Speaker 5: while his fifteen career games with at least eleven receptions
- 29:22Speaker 5: and one hundred yards it is also an all time
- 29:25Speaker 5: record baller sixty two yards six ninety four seven touchdowns
- 29:28Speaker 5: this year. He's so consistent. He's not a real fast receiver,
- 29:32Speaker 5: but he's a route runner and his hands are great.
- 29:34Speaker 5: And then of course you got the young man of
- 29:36Speaker 5: rome A Doonza. Big ups to u Dub his last
- 29:39Speaker 5: year at UDUB ninety two receptions, sixteen hundred yards and
- 29:42Speaker 5: thirteen touchdowns and drafted ninth overall last year to of course,
- 29:46Speaker 5: the Chicago Bears with one.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Hundred and four receiving yards.
- 29:49Speaker 5: A week nine, Romanduze secured the second one hundred yard
- 29:51Speaker 5: receiving outing of his career time for the fourth most
- 29:54Speaker 5: by any Bears pass catcher. In his rookie season, Rome
- 29:58Speaker 5: fifty one receptions, seven to one, three touchdowns.
- 30:01Speaker 2: There's a trio for you. You just saw one of
- 30:03Speaker 2: the best tools in the game. Question.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Yeah, now, this might be one of the best trios
- 30:07Speaker 5: in a game. They have their work cutoff for them.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Yeah, they can all play. They're all I think figuring
- 30:12Speaker 4: other than Keenan Allen dj More. Obviously, Rome is kind
- 30:14Speaker 4: of figuring out in the league. I think he's gonna
- 30:16Speaker 4: be really good. I got to watch them a little
- 30:18Speaker 4: bit on hard knocks in the preseason. Obviously, the season
- 30:21Speaker 4: has gone the way they would hope for. But Rome
- 30:23Speaker 4: was kind of coming along seven in a solid season,
- 30:25Speaker 4: and then with Keenan and just OG's like that, you
- 30:28Speaker 4: just never know they got They got all kinds of stuff.
- 30:30Speaker 2: They'll route you up.
- 30:31Speaker 4: So Seahawks DB's again are gonna have their hands full.
- 30:35Speaker 4: And you know, after what you faced last week, I
- 30:37Speaker 4: feel like you should be ready for that challenge. So
- 30:39Speaker 4: we'll see what happens there and we'll finish here with
- 30:41Speaker 4: JSN DK Metcalf taking on this bear secondary. We talked
- 30:45Speaker 4: about Jackson. We've been talking about Jackson for the last
- 30:47Speaker 4: two months because he's been bawing out last game nine receptions,
- 30:50Speaker 4: ninety five yards, a touchdown, leading the Seahawks and all
- 30:53Speaker 4: receiver category receptions, yards, receiving touchdowns, over one thousand yards,
- 30:58Speaker 4: fift in the NFL, and receiving yards six and receptions.
- 31:01Speaker 4: He's that dude, and he's performing like.
- 31:03Speaker 2: It every week.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Then you have DK Metcalf obviously really good to see
- 31:06Speaker 4: him get involved again last week he had that big
- 31:08Speaker 4: touchdown and again when he's in the game and he's
- 31:12Speaker 4: making plays over the top, the Seahawks offense is at
- 31:14Speaker 4: their best. And honestly, his production has been down since
- 31:17Speaker 4: he hurt his knee. That was that Falcons game, and
- 31:20Speaker 4: he still has sixty receptions, eight hundred and ninety seven yards,
- 31:22Speaker 4: four touchdowns with two games.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Again, come on, get your thousand dollars, need it? Come on.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I would love for him to get it this on Thursday,
- 31:28Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 31:29Speaker 4: Because I feel like people are now looking at the
- 31:31Speaker 4: seventeen game season a certain type of way when it
- 31:33Speaker 4: comes to all the records beforehand. So it's like anything
- 31:36Speaker 4: you can do in sixteen games kind of makes you
- 31:38Speaker 4: feel like it's an extra little notch, you know what
- 31:40Speaker 4: I mean?
- 31:40Speaker 5: Now the US to play fourteen games back in the day, Yeah,
- 31:42Speaker 5: you know.
- 31:43Speaker 4: And then it eventually go over there. But I think
- 31:45Speaker 4: when people are it's still somewhat fresh. He's only been
- 31:48Speaker 4: a couple of years. So hope DK ball's out. The
- 31:50Speaker 4: Bears defense twenty third against the pass game of two
- 31:52Speaker 4: twenty five per game. I think this is a matchup
- 31:54Speaker 4: where the Seahawks should have the advantage and should be
- 31:56Speaker 4: able to go over the top.
- 31:57Speaker 2: So hopefully the Seahawks can do that.
- 32:00Speaker 4: On Thursday, we are broadcasting live from the seas Podcast
- 32:02Speaker 4: Studio presented by Sony, the official partner of the Seattle

- 32:30Speaker 3: At the forty five waits for the staff, Michael Vickton
- 32:34Speaker 3: puts it down.
- 32:34Speaker 2: That kick is away.
- 32:36Speaker 3: If that kick is gone, good say awk whin fifth gun.
- 32:40Speaker 1: It's a path to victory on Hawk Talk.
- 32:44Speaker 2: All right, We've said this before. We'll say it again.
- 32:48Speaker 5: It's must win, okay, Yeah, the must win game the Seahawks, man,
- 32:52Speaker 5: you gotta handle this. You still have to handle business
- 32:55Speaker 5: and you need some home, so you have to get
- 32:57Speaker 5: it done this Thursday. You gotta beat the bears in
- 32:59Speaker 5: the Ram have to lose. We said this plenty of
- 33:01Speaker 5: times on this podcast already. We will say it again.
- 33:04Speaker 5: Must win. All right, do your part and then pray
- 33:08Speaker 5: to the football guns, go get it.
- 33:10Speaker 4: And for everyone else who is deep into the playoff scenarios,
- 33:13Speaker 4: we're calling it and must win, but there are people
- 33:15Speaker 4: telling me scenario will the Rams lose both and then
- 33:17Speaker 4: you lose this one, but then you can still get
- 33:19Speaker 4: them on Make.
- 33:20Speaker 2: It simple, Yeah, take care business.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Yeah, Cardinals, help your boy out and we'll figure out
- 33:25Speaker 4: what happens. But it doesn't matter. None of that really
- 33:27Speaker 4: is irrelevant unless you win on Thursday.
- 33:29Speaker 2: So get that done.
- 33:30Speaker 4: So control what you can control, and for me, bump
- 33:32Speaker 4: that's defensively. Come out and jump on right away. Let's
- 33:35Speaker 4: not give up a long touchdown drive to start the games.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Happened three weeks in a row. I think they need
- 33:40Speaker 4: to jump on the Bears early and get on top
- 33:41Speaker 4: of him.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Take the ball away.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Caleb's gone what three hundred and twenty six pass attenps
- 33:47Speaker 5: without an interception. That's pretty good for the young man.
- 33:50Speaker 5: We got to give him that Jared Goff treatment. Like
- 33:52Speaker 5: you mentioned that Josh Allen treatment. All you haven't done
- 33:55Speaker 5: that before. Okay, let's let's introduce you to it. Remind
- 33:58Speaker 5: you what it's all about. Keep everything in front. We
- 34:00Speaker 5: talked about how dangerous their receivers are. One of the
- 34:02Speaker 5: best trios in the game when it's all said and done,
- 34:05Speaker 5: So just be a fish and take the rock. Be
- 34:08Speaker 5: sticky on the back end when it comes to coverage
- 34:10Speaker 5: and you got a chance. Yeah, keep them in front
- 34:12Speaker 5: of you, man, keep them in front of you, deeper
- 34:14Speaker 5: than the deepest.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Always state, keep them in front because they will get
- 34:17Speaker 4: behind you. So definitely do that and then take care
- 34:19Speaker 4: of the ball.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Man.
- 34:20Speaker 4: We you know, obviously all these keys of the game,
- 34:23Speaker 4: and you can say that every single week, but you
- 34:25Speaker 4: see how much it just kills you when you turn
- 34:27Speaker 4: the football over, especially against a team like that where
- 34:29Speaker 4: you have the upper hand.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Take care of the ball, and let's let's run it, Bump,
- 34:33Speaker 2: please run the rock, baby, come on. Now.
- 34:36Speaker 4: I know that Charbonne was a little injured, and gosh,
- 34:38Speaker 4: I'm hoping Canine's okay. That was kind of a gruesome
- 34:40Speaker 4: looking when he got tackled and twisted back, So hopefully
- 34:43Speaker 4: he's back. Hopefully Sharbonney is also a little bit more
- 34:46Speaker 4: healed up. But if they aren't, man, I kind of
- 34:49Speaker 4: like what I saw from Kenny Mack.
- 34:50Speaker 5: And Kenny back got a little burst to right, so burst,
- 34:53Speaker 5: let's get it done.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Bump. Let's come on, man, he's got to find a
- 34:56Speaker 2: way next in the season, find a way they last
- 34:59Speaker 2: nine in the ro Bump, make it. Let's make it ten,
- 35:01Speaker 2: make it to need to make it ten.
- 35:03Speaker 4: I mean again, I just really hope we go into
- 35:06Speaker 4: Week eight team still having a chance, because this team
- 35:08Speaker 4: has done too many good things this year and we
- 35:10Speaker 4: know it goes. You just need to get in anybody's
- 35:13Speaker 4: got a shot, and hey, wone, get at.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Any given Sunday roll from the Seahawks and get that done.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Reminder, you can hear us ever you are, YouTube, Seahawks
- 35:19Speaker 4: dot Com, Apple podcast, Spotify, series x M, and more.
- 35:23Speaker 2: He's Michael Bumpus. I'm NASA Trope.
- 35:25Speaker 4: We hopefully we'll be talking to you next week about
- 35:28Speaker 4: a Seahawk victory and how the Seahawks can win the
- 35:31Speaker 4: NFC West title. Keep up alive until next time. This
- 35:35Speaker 4: has been Hawk Talk
