- Forged In The Dark: The work is working. The work is working. The work is working. The work is working. The work is working in my life. And the work is working in at least one area of your life as well. And today we are going to focus on the light side, on the positive side, on the gratitude side, on what is already working in your life. And How we can use it to create more. Welcome to Forged in the Dark. I'm your host, Jamie. Let's dig in. Now there is a lovely lady that I meet with once a week. We are more like a mentor, mentee, but her words are so perfect here because she likes to say there's proof in the poof. And I think it's so cute because there is proof in the poof. And the way she explains this, she says, you know, you you you come into this work. And and you start doing all of these things daily. And and and some of the things like like meditation and practicing gratitude, ⁓ you you start to see the results a little bit faster. You do like if if you do not have ⁓ an active intentional gratitude practice, add that to your life and ⁓ give it 30 days and your life can change. But Basically, she says when you start this work, when you go down this path, you don't know what the results are going to be, but you keep doing the work. And you start to see little improvements here or there, but then all of a sudden, poof, there it is. And what we often talk about is recognizing it faster, recognizing it in real time. And that's really the the the meat and potatoes of of today, ⁓ because I have spent the last 10 days, well maybe we'll say week and a half to two weeks, with the words of of others around me being, you are so lucky. You're so lucky, you're so lucky, ⁓ my god, you're so lucky. And of course, I have a ton of stories here, and I want to share all of them with you. And I'm not, I'm not sure we'll get to all of them today. But I will take lucky girl syndrome all day long. I I'll take it. You you want like you want to tell me that I'm lucky? I'll take it. But I can tell you that it is more than luck. It is different than luck. Maybe it's not luck at all. I am the creator of my own reality, and so are you. What you believe, like deep, deep beliefs, deep in your subconscious mind, whether you know you believe these things or not, the beliefs are there. And if you believe something, it has No option but to come into your physical reality, into your experience. Your beliefs confirm your experiences and and your experiences create or wait, your beliefs create your experiences, and your experiences confirm your beliefs. So if you believe that things are going to work out, they are going to work out. And of course, this isn't. Okay, okay, there is an aspect of blind faith here, and there is an aspect of neuroscience here, and I am in no way, shape, or form telling you to affirmation yourself only to the life you want. But when it comes to creating beliefs that actually get you what you want, ooh, this is where I'm gonna have to sidestep or pause and tell you a story. Because when When you really think about the outcomes you are receiving in your life, they're not all bad. They're not all dark. The habits we hold when no one is watching, that that's that's the way I speak of the dark. It's not all darkness, it's not all heavy emotions. Of course, if you choose a higher path, your challenges are going to be greater. Of course. But It's not all like sitting around moping in these heavy feelings crying all the time. Like if you do that all the time, that's all you're ever going to get. Okay, before we run out of time, let me tell you a story. So this this this was a Friday. There was a widespread internet outage, and the ETA for it being fixed was like 8 p.m. So I headed out. I I ran errands, I did some shopping. And when I finally resigned to come home, as I got in my car before I even had it started, I saw this flash of my car on a flatbed tow truck. And I thought, ⁓ wow, isn't that interesting? And 15 minutes later, I cannot make this up. I was backing into my garage. And I watched my check engine light come on, and then I heard the god awful noise coming from under the hood. And here's the thing if you know me in real life, if you listen to this show long enough, you will know how much I love my car. And I was not worried about the car at all. I was so excited about the intuitive hit. I saw my car on a flatbed trailer, and then I had The confirmation that my car needed assistance, and it was all right there within a 15-minute window. Ladies and gentlemen, the work is working. The work is working, and this is just the beginning of the story. Because by the time I got to the dealer for my appointment, they said, We're so sorry you don't have a loaner car. Like you're scheduled for a loaner car, but we don't have a car for you. And I said, well, huh? Isn't that interesting? And just in that moment, someone was calling, canceling their service for that very day with a loaner, and my loaner appeared. The work is working. The work is working. Everyone in the dealer, like Everyone in the room kept saying, You're so lucky, you're so lucky, you're so lucky. No, I am the creator of my own experience. I am really fantastic at creating exactly the life that I want. Now, this does not cover all of the bases to every area of my life, but it does give us an opportunity to. To look at the areas of our life where the work is working, where there is proof in the poof. I mean, how many people show up for an appointment and they say, We're sorry, this isn't going to work? And before you can even come up with a response, the problem is already solved, and you didn't do anything but believe that this is always going to be a positive experience. I I believe I I love the dealer that I use and I go there for multiple good reasons. ⁓ one ⁓ that they always take care of me, and they do. ⁓ I believe that it always is going to work out better than expected, and it always does. ⁓ there's an even more powerful story here towards the end of the week, but I seriously need you right now to think about an area of your life that is working. Think about something that is working. Now, I found myself, I'm just gonna tell you the story. Today might be just a little bit longer, just by a minute or two. So I found myself ⁓ at the emergency room with someone, not for me, and they're they're they're going to be just fine. However, when I got the call, I'm driving to the emergency room. Will you meet me there? Something clicked in me. And this happens ⁓ every time there is an emergency. I'm a really great person to have ⁓ in an emergency because of this. There is this sharp focused attention that clicks in and I start following the emergency procedures for the situation. Whether it is an ER trip or a tornado, think about emergency situations. If you are like me and you go completely calm and just focus and and focus on each task. The reason I'm telling you this is because there's a system here. When when we look at one area of our life that is working, like I look at this emergency preparedness that that it is just undeniable. It is a strong neural network in my brain. Like the question for me became how do I borrow this neural network for other areas of my life? How do I intentionally hop on this neural network to have that sharp focus? And the best part is I found some ideas to try. But for you right now, get that area of your life in your head and narrow your focus on it. Dissect it. Literally, take it apart. Go through every part of this area of your life that is working, the area of your life that you find yourself. All the time just throwing up you throwing up your hands and saying thank you, thank you, thank you. I love the way everything works out for me. That one thing that's working, and look at what you are putting into that, and there you will find the system. And then you take that system and you apply it to other areas of your life. Because gratitude and and appreciation. They the more you're grateful, the more you're appreciative, the more it will grow. And and the more we focus on the good things in our life, the more good flows to us. And the more we take these opportunities to dissect the areas of our life that are working and then apply that structure, that personal operating system, that architecture, whatever you want to say. Apply that to the area of your life that needs improvement and see what works But but but there's there's like our brains are so amazing, ⁓ and I was amazed. ⁓ Like everything this was so divinely ⁓ guided. But I know what I do when no one's watching. I know the amount of time and effort and energy I put into every single one of my habits that happen in the dark. And what happens in the light is beautiful. And I'm not saying it's always beautiful. And and and you guys have heard my challenges. But if you want a different life, This is a different perspective, a different vantage point. Lean into what is working. Lean into the beautiful aspects of your life. Because the last week and a half, two weeks for me have been so divinely guided that even with a non non warranty repair. on my car, ⁓ which means I came out of pocket for that, and and a trip to the ER and the other challenges that we that this week held. I I lived I lived in the Lucky Girl syndrome all week. I I lived in this very divinely guided week, thanking God every single day, multiple times a day. Thank you, thank you, thank you to each and every one of you. Whether you have Lucky Girl Syndrome or you think something else, what you believe you become, your beliefs create your experiences, your experiences confirm your beliefs. There is an area of your life that is working. And when you get to the place where you have these moments of there's proof in the poof, whoo! It's just fun. Yes, I said, woo, it's just fun. So maybe your new thing this week is the work is working. The work is working. Find that area of your life where the work is working. Dissect it. And then apply it to the other areas of your life. Okay, we're way long today. I am clearly way passionate about this subject. But there's so many beautiful and miraculous things that happen in my life. And sometimes I wonder, like Sometimes I wonder, but then I stop and I know exactly why they're here. And if I can do it, so can you. Okay, until next time.
