- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to just the cats with michael bennett hello big
- 0:14Speaker 1: blue nation welcome to just the cats my name is
- 0:19Speaker 1: michael bennett on this tuesday september 8th it took me
- 0:23Speaker 1: a minute to say it's like august 8th july 8th
- 0:26Speaker 1: where are we now but uh i'm having a hard
- 0:28Speaker 1: time as you heard just a couple minutes ago figuring
- 0:30Speaker 1: out what day it is but uh Hope everybody had
- 0:32Speaker 1: a nice, long, relaxing weekend. As Justin Kalen joins me
- 0:36Speaker 1: this morning on this, again, Tuesday. But if you want
- 0:40Speaker 1: to join us, you can call in at 502-384-1450. If
- 0:42Speaker 1: you want to.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Text in. You can do that 502-414-1450. You can tweet
- 0:50Speaker 1: me at justthecatradio, which I hope all the summer listeners, well,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I should say sports listeners are back. You know, we usually,
- 0:58Speaker 1: good morning, Justin, by the way. How are you? I'm great. Good.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Glad to be here. Are you really? Yeah. Good. I'm
- 1:04Speaker 1: glad you are. So am I. You know, there are
- 1:07Speaker 1: a number of listeners that kind of stop the sports
- 1:09Speaker 1: talk radio listening until sports talk starts up again. And
- 1:14Speaker 1: now that we're officially back into sports talk until, I
- 1:19Speaker 1: guess what, next May, June, something like that, I'm hoping
- 1:22Speaker 1: that we get a lot more listeners back in. And
- 1:25Speaker 1: we get a lot more texts and we get a
- 1:26Speaker 1: lot more, you know, one day we'll get more phone calls,
- 1:29Speaker 1: but I'm still going to advertise the phone call. Or
- 1:32Speaker 1: the phone number. But I'm hoping that we have a
- 1:34Speaker 1: lot today. And because it was a fun weekend. It
- 1:38Speaker 1: was a fun game. It was a fun everything as
- 1:41Speaker 1: far as I'm concerned. I mean, what else can you
- 1:43Speaker 1: ask for? UK wins. UofL loses. I guess Tennessee losing
- 1:48Speaker 1: would have been fun. Duke won. I would have won.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Do we really even care about Duke football?
- 1:54Speaker 1: That's what I was getting ready to ask you. Do
- 1:56Speaker 1: you think Big Blue Nation really cares about Duke football? No.
- 1:59Speaker 1: It's just Duke basketball, right? I agree.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah. All right. So does UK care about Tennessee basketball
- 2:08Speaker 1: or is it more football or vice versa? I think both.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You think it's both. Okay. They're a proper rival. And
- 2:14Speaker 1: UofL is probably both, even though they're a little brother
- 2:18Speaker 1: and I don't see it much of a rivalry. Okay.
- 2:20Speaker 1: All right. Good. That's where we'll go with that. So
- 2:23Speaker 1: Labor Day weekend, you know, Labor Day weekend is the
- 2:26Speaker 1: official date that we are no longer, when it hits,
- 2:31Speaker 1: you are no longer allowed to wear white, white shoes,
- 2:38Speaker 1: white shorts or pants or linen. Does anybody follow that
- 2:43Speaker 1: rule anymore?
- 2:46Speaker 3: I'm sure there are thousands of people that follow that rule.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I always forget that that's a thing. And I always
- 2:53Speaker 3: tell myself the day after Labor Day to wear all
- 2:55Speaker 3: white because I want to buck the trend.
- 2:57Speaker 1: And I always forget. Do you really? See, I think
- 3:01Speaker 1: that's great that you do that. I've always followed the rule.
- 3:07Speaker 1: So Easter, you always bring out your Easter best, your
- 3:10Speaker 1: bright colors. Because I love wearing bright stuff, as you know.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Is this a superstition thing? Like don't walk under a
- 3:16Speaker 1: ladder or break a mirror or whatever? No, no, no.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I don't think it has anything to do with superstition.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I just think it has to do with etiquette. That's
- 3:26Speaker 1: all I think it has to do with. Etiquette? Yes.
- 3:28Speaker 1: How the hell is that an etiquette thing? I don't
- 3:31Speaker 1: ask me. I'm not the etiquette rule maker, but this
- 3:34Speaker 1: is one of those guys. I guess this is one
- 3:36Speaker 1: of those things that Gloria Vanderbilt or, or one of
- 3:39Speaker 1: those types came out with. You're not allowed when Easter
- 3:43Speaker 1: hits all the bright clothes, white stuff, linen, white shoes, white, uh, pants, uh,
- 3:48Speaker 1: white dresses, all that comes out. As soon as Labor
- 3:51Speaker 1: Day hits, you put it all away. It's the official
- 3:55Speaker 1: end of summer. Do you feel like it's the end
- 3:58Speaker 1: of summer? I do not, no. Really? See, to me,
- 4:02Speaker 1: when summer ends, it's when school starts. We talked about
- 4:06Speaker 1: this last week, too. Yeah, yeah. That's kind of my
- 4:08Speaker 1: official end of summer, which I hate. I mean, it's
- 4:12Speaker 1: still so hot outside, though. It is hot, but September,
- 4:15Speaker 1: it doesn't feel like summer anymore, even if it's hot outside.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And for some reason, the other part is just the
- 4:22Speaker 1: temperature changes here so quickly. Mm-hmm. And that's the other
- 4:25Speaker 1: part I can't stand. But anyway, well, I mean, you
- 4:28Speaker 1: could do it tomorrow just because you missed it today.
- 4:31Speaker 1: That's true. You said any time after. Yeah. Yeah. So
- 4:34Speaker 1: guess what? There's still Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. I'll be
- 4:38Speaker 1: wearing white the rest of the week. You will? Better
- 4:40Speaker 1: be careful. Are you wearing flip flops today? I'm not. What?
- 4:45Speaker 1: That's unusual, right? Yeah, it is unusual. You weren't expecting
- 4:48Speaker 1: me to say that. No, I wasn't because you came
- 4:50Speaker 1: into the studio a couple minutes ago. I didn't pay
- 4:52Speaker 1: attention to what you had on your feet. But you
- 4:55Speaker 1: had shorts on. No, I didn't. I got jeans on, too. Really? Yeah.
- 4:59Speaker 1: You just said it's hot outside. It takes my temperature.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I know. Wow. Okay. Well, I like wearing pants. I don't.
- 5:06Speaker 1: You don't? I hate wearing pants.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 1: There is a certain brand that I think are the
- 5:12Speaker 1: most comfortable brand I've ever had on in my life.
- 5:15Speaker 1: They're called Lululemon. Why are you laughing at me for that?
- 5:19Speaker 1: Isn't that a chick thing? See, exactly. I knew you
- 5:22Speaker 1: were going to say that. You need to go try
- 5:26Speaker 1: on the Lululemon men's pants. I'm not kidding. They are
- 5:30Speaker 1: probably the most comfortable pant I've ever had on in
- 5:33Speaker 1: my life. I think I'm good. Why? I don't need
- 5:37Speaker 1: any more clothes. I got enough. No, that's not what
- 5:39Speaker 1: you're saying. You're saying something else. You foresee that brand
- 5:44Speaker 1: as a women's brand, so therefore you're not going to
- 5:46Speaker 1: wear a women's brand. Maybe so. I'm correct about this.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I know I'm right. So anyway, but I wore pants today.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I don't know why, but I'm comfortable. I got a
- 5:57Speaker 1: big week this week. It's a short week, number one.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Number two, UK plays Alabama. We'll talk about that more later,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and we'll talk about it all week long, obviously. That's
- 6:06Speaker 1: going to be a lot of fun. And then Friday,
- 6:08Speaker 1: of course, got a big horse race, which they got
- 6:11Speaker 1: the information yesterday. Cosmic Creed, my two-year-old chestnut beautiful filly,
- 6:20Speaker 1: is going to be racing in the seventh race. At Churchill, right?
- 6:24Speaker 1: At Churchill. So that's going to happen post times 3.50, 5-0, 3-5-0.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And I'll be there. Got a bunch of our friends going.
- 6:32Speaker 1: We're going to have a full crowd. I think I
- 6:35Speaker 1: have like 20 people going to the race. 20, 25.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And I'm not one of them. You're welcome. You certainly
- 6:42Speaker 1: are welcome. Anytime you want to come, you're welcome. I
- 6:45Speaker 1: didn't get an official invite. Oh, my gosh. What did
- 6:47Speaker 1: I just do? Wow. Okay. Do we have odds yet? No.
- 6:53Speaker 1: No odds. I don't believe odds are out yet.
- 6:55Speaker 4: But.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Of course, she's Jimmy Creed, and you can go look
- 6:58Speaker 1: up the sire Jimmy Creed, but 14 horses are in
- 7:02Speaker 1: this race. Makes me very nervous. 14? No, I'm sorry, 16. 16?
- 7:06Speaker 1: 16 horses. Yeah, there's like two Brad Cox horses, Kenny McPeak,
- 7:11Speaker 1: Cherie DeVoe. Of course, mine's trained by Dale Romans. There's
- 7:16Speaker 1: a Brendan Walsh. There's a bunch of horses in this.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I'm very nervous about this. I just want her to
- 7:21Speaker 1: be safe. I want her to succeed if she wins great,
- 7:24Speaker 1: but I want her to, I do well on this Tuesday.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Is it more about, is it more excitement or more nervous? Uh,
- 7:35Speaker 3: I say that'll fluctuate.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely. Over the weekend. I was excited. I mean,
- 7:40Speaker 1: it's cool to open up the Equifax, uh, app and see, uh,
- 7:44Speaker 1: your name in there. It's like, that's never happened before.
- 7:46Speaker 1: So that's kind of a, a new thing for me.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And then, uh, and today, yeah, I'm nervous. I want
- 7:52Speaker 1: her to be okay. I don't want her to get hurt.
- 7:54Speaker 1: That's the part I worry about. So, But we'll see.
- 7:57Speaker 1: We got a lot. We got a lot going on.
- 7:59Speaker 1: But anyway, we do have a game to celebrate. We do? Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 1: UK won. I was just wondering if you had a
- 8:11Speaker 1: stroke over there or what. No, I thought you'd say something.
- 8:15Speaker 1: My goodness. No, UK won, as we all know, 45-13.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And here's the one thing I was thinking about the entire.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I'm not kidding about this. I thought about tweeting out like, no,
- 8:28Speaker 1: Michael Bennett, be nice. Let's not do that. Because you
- 8:31Speaker 1: remember CBS Sports tweeted upset alert UK Youngstown? That didn't happen. No,
- 8:37Speaker 1: not even close. But I will say I wanted to
- 8:42Speaker 1: tweet that out. And I'm like, no, I'll be nice
- 8:45Speaker 1: to you. Let's be positive. It was a hot day.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I mean, hot, hot. Here's the factor. This is where
- 8:56Speaker 1: I think turf fields are a thousand times worse than
- 9:01Speaker 1: natural grass. Because of the heat that emulates... Not emulates,
- 9:07Speaker 1: but comes off the field. Even worse. Am I wrong
- 9:13Speaker 1: about that? No, you're not at all.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So last week.
- 9:17Speaker 3: So I do a show over at the other station
- 9:19Speaker 3: where we just do a sports report for all the
- 9:22Speaker 3: area schools.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:24Speaker 2: And.
- 9:25Speaker 3: One day last week at Cordon, all their fields are turf.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Their soccer, the boys' soccer team couldn't play on, I
- 9:32Speaker 3: guess it was Wednesday or Thursday.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yes. But their girls' soccer team went down to Tell City.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Tell City has a grass field, and they were allowed
- 9:41Speaker 1: to play.
- 9:42Speaker 2: See?
- 9:43Speaker 1: So you're right. Yeah. People were going down. I mean,
- 9:46Speaker 1: people were feigning. The heat was just way too much.
- 9:50Speaker 1: My only criticism is UK wasn't prepared for water. They
- 9:53Speaker 1: didn't have enough water for everybody. Really?
- 9:56Speaker 2: No.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Like bottles? or did they have all the above? They
- 9:58Speaker 1: have water stations. They do. Yeah. Yeah. That's the one
- 10:01Speaker 1: thing they do. Nice. At least it's free. You can
- 10:03Speaker 1: still go buy a bottle of water, but they got
- 10:06Speaker 1: the big, big jugs of water out there and it
- 10:08Speaker 1: wasn't enough. And hopefully this Saturday they'll have enough that
- 10:12Speaker 1: UK has promised that they will have a sufficient amount
- 10:16Speaker 1: of water out there for people. So, uh, The part
- 10:19Speaker 1: I did like, I'm sure Corey Price, who will be
- 10:22Speaker 1: in here second hour, will talk about some of the stats.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Wasn't he just here? Why are you making fun of him?
- 10:28Speaker 1: My gosh, you're already making fun of him, and he's
- 10:32Speaker 1: not even here yet. You made him up. I'm just saying,
- 10:35Speaker 1: wasn't he just here? You said that Friday. He's like, well,
- 10:38Speaker 1: you're going to be here in four days. And then, yes,
- 10:40Speaker 1: he was just here. Man, hardcore. Can't wait to hear
- 10:43Speaker 1: a win about over Mississippi Southern. It was Youngstown State.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And by the way, in his facts, when he hit
- 10:52Speaker 1: us with a Southern Miss win. Oh, that's right. That's right. OK,
- 10:56Speaker 1: I got you. Most points ever scored by a new
- 11:00Speaker 1: head coach with 45 points at UK. Yeah, that was
- 11:03Speaker 1: pretty good. Watching this offense. Let me think. I want
- 11:10Speaker 1: to make sure I word this correctly. Watching this offense
- 11:14Speaker 1: was a complete departure from what we've watched in a
- 11:18Speaker 1: long time. Absolutely. That, you know, you were asking me
- 11:21Speaker 1: on your show a couple of minutes ago, what did
- 11:23Speaker 1: I enjoy the most? That right there. Guys were open. Schemes,
- 11:30Speaker 1: you know, the offensive schemes were completely different. And the
- 11:33Speaker 1: fact that they schemed and they were open. We haven't
- 11:37Speaker 1: seen that in a long time. I just don't think
- 11:40Speaker 1: we've seen a well-run, and I promise you, I'm not
- 11:45Speaker 1: trying to knock Mark Stoops at all. Mark Stoops was,
- 11:49Speaker 1: I would definitely call him, I don't know if I'd
- 11:52Speaker 1: put up their genius as far as defense, but he
- 11:56Speaker 1: was a great defensive coach. Offense was lacking for a
- 12:00Speaker 1: long time, and we haven't seen a good quarterback in
- 12:03Speaker 1: a long time. Stop telling me Will Levis, okay? He
- 12:07Speaker 1: was a pretty good– he was an okay quarterback. I
- 12:13Speaker 1: just– yesterday or Saturday, we saw potentially a really good quarterback. Granted,
- 12:20Speaker 1: I know it's Youngstown State, but they're still a pretty
- 12:23Speaker 1: good team in the FCS just because it's young. And,
- 12:27Speaker 1: you know, here's the other thing. Defensively, we'll talk about
- 12:31Speaker 1: them in a minute. But, you know, I don't think
- 12:33Speaker 1: they wanted to show everything on Saturday. Offensively or defensively? Both.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I think they wanted to run a bit of a...
- 12:42Speaker 1: Because they could have run the score way up. I
- 12:45Speaker 1: feel pretty confident in that. And they chose not to.
- 12:49Speaker 1: And I think they wanted to kind of call the
- 12:52Speaker 1: horses off because of the fact they've got to save
- 12:55Speaker 1: defensively and offensively some of the plays... For this coming Saturday.
- 13:01Speaker 1: You look at Kenny Minchey who threw over 300 yards.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Didn't even feel like he threw the ball a ton.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Even though he was, what, 18-27? I thought C.J. Baxter
- 13:13Speaker 1: looked really good. Nine carries, 48 yards. But you could
- 13:17Speaker 1: see one thing about C.J. Baxter. That dude is a
- 13:23Speaker 1: five-star caliber player. For sure. He is a stud.
- 13:28Speaker 3: It's hard to believe that he wasn't going to be
- 13:29Speaker 3: the starter. He technically isn't the starter.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Exactly. But, I mean, here's the part, though. Why get
- 13:38Speaker 1: him out there playing against him? You're already up a
- 13:41Speaker 1: whole bunch, and then he gets injured. Somehow, someway, this
- 13:45Speaker 1: is a coaching staff that has to figure how to
- 13:48Speaker 1: keep these players healthy. And I think that's the main key.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You keep CJ Baxter healthy. I feel pretty good. The
- 13:55Speaker 1: other one, Jason Patterson was really good as well with
- 13:58Speaker 1: 11 carries. Receiving. Okay. You talked about a little bit,
- 14:06Speaker 1: a little bit ago, Willie Rodriguez. And all I want
- 14:11Speaker 1: to do is call him Roger was okay. I don't know. Yeah,
- 14:14Speaker 1: I do. It's from an old show called WKRP in Cincinnati,
- 14:18Speaker 1: where one of the characters called, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Chai
- 14:23Speaker 1: Chai Rodriguez. I just can't get it out of my mind.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But you could see where Willie Rodriguez is going to
- 14:29Speaker 1: be an absolute superstar. Tied in, Mikkel Skinner. I mean,
- 14:35Speaker 1: you said a little bit ago, did we really throw
- 14:38Speaker 1: it to a tight end finally? Isn't Roderick? See, I'm
- 14:42Speaker 1: already messing you up. You are. Roderick was. He's a
- 14:45Speaker 1: tight end too, though, right? Yes.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, you get a touchdown to both him
- 14:50Speaker 1: and Skinner. Yeah. That's awesome. Two young, incredible superstars on
- 14:54Speaker 1: the way up, Prince Gene and Kenny Darby. Oh, my gosh, man.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Will Stein has to figure a way to keep Kenny
- 15:02Speaker 1: Darby at UK. That's the other part. Somehow, someway, because
- 15:07Speaker 1: you look at him and you think, oh, man, who
- 15:10Speaker 1: are some of the great wide receivers we've had? Stevie Johnson,
- 15:14Speaker 1: Barry Brown. I look at those caliber receivers because you
- 15:19Speaker 1: wonder now, would Stevie Johnson have been at UK if
- 15:25Speaker 1: the NIL was in effect? Would he have been clearly...
- 15:28Speaker 1: gone by the wayside and said, thanks coach Brooks. I'm
- 15:31Speaker 1: going somewhere else. But Kenny Darby to me by far
- 15:38Speaker 1: is the best player on this team as a freshman,
- 15:41Speaker 1: as a freshman, you're exactly correct. And somehow, some way,
- 15:45Speaker 1: if he continues to go the route, I I'm going
- 15:49Speaker 1: to predict right now, Will Stein and company have to
- 15:52Speaker 1: figure a way to keep him at UK. I mean,
- 15:55Speaker 1: his touchdown was spectacular. You can really see, Justin, he's
- 16:00Speaker 1: an athlete. Oh, yeah. You can build an offense around.
- 16:04Speaker 1: He can just be a really, really special player. And
- 16:09Speaker 1: I do love that all the kids over there at
- 16:12Speaker 1: UK are calling it Kenny Squared. With the, you know,
- 16:16Speaker 1: Kenny Minchie to Kenny Darby. Oh, okay. Oh, yeah. Also,
- 16:20Speaker 1: you don't like that, do you? I kind of want
- 16:23Speaker 1: to call him Kenny Derby. oh do you oh so
- 16:26Speaker 1: in other words churchill downs should be sponsoring him yeah
- 16:31Speaker 1: i kind of like that.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Or i mean because over like in europe they always
- 16:35Speaker 3: say the dobby the dobby yeah but i want to
- 16:37Speaker 3: call him derby oh i i don't mind that i
- 16:41Speaker 3: don't think he would mind that but uh he's just
- 16:44Speaker 3: going to be a special player yeah i mean it's
- 16:46Speaker 3: it was a lot of fun like Obviously, the offense
- 16:49Speaker 3: was way more entertaining than what we've seen in a
- 16:52Speaker 3: long time. But a lot of that has to do
- 16:54Speaker 3: with a lot of the guys that we've mentioned. I mean,
- 16:57Speaker 3: there's just it felt like there was athleticism all over
- 17:00Speaker 3: the field.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Which you don't really I don't I don't really recall
- 17:05Speaker 3: that ever being the case.
- 17:06Speaker 1: All right. Before we talk any further, I do want
- 17:09Speaker 1: to ask you a question. Is there anything you can
- 17:12Speaker 1: complain about, criticize about with the offense? Not really. I mean,
- 17:18Speaker 1: I felt the same way.
- 17:19Speaker 3: All my complaints were, and there are very few for
- 17:23Speaker 3: what it's worth, but I mean, it's just defensively.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I thought. Yeah. Don't say it yet. I want to
- 17:28Speaker 1: say that till after the break. Cause we're going, we're
- 17:30Speaker 1: I'm sticking with the offense right now. Let's talk about the, the,
- 17:33Speaker 1: the offense before we get into the defense.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Okay. No.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So you have nothing to complain about. No, I criticize
- 17:41Speaker 1: with office. I don't either. And it's just amazing to
- 17:46Speaker 1: how well they really look. They look like a team, Justin,
- 17:51Speaker 1: that had been playing a while. Am I wrong about that?
- 17:55Speaker 1: I know, again, I know it's Youngstown State, but Youngstown
- 17:58Speaker 1: State's not that bad of a team.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Honestly, I was just surprised they opened the playbook the
- 18:05Speaker 3: way they did. And Will Stein came out after the
- 18:07Speaker 3: game and said as much.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Like, we.
- 18:09Speaker 3: We didn't run a very vanilla offense tonight. I mean,
- 18:11Speaker 3: I wanted to go out and see what we could do,
- 18:13Speaker 3: and they ran a lot of stuff, and I didn't
- 18:15Speaker 3: think they would. I thought they would want to protect
- 18:17Speaker 3: the playbook a little bit, but offensively, that wasn't the case.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I still think they protected it. I really do. I mean,
- 18:24Speaker 1: maybe a little bit, but not nearly as much as
- 18:26Speaker 1: I thought they would. Nick Roush, who I really respect
- 18:29Speaker 1: as far as a football guy, was saying, yeah, trust me,
- 18:33Speaker 1: they're keeping some things back. And so I can do
- 18:38Speaker 1: nothing but believe him. And I think that as well. Now,
- 18:41Speaker 1: the one thing Will Stein did say after the game,
- 18:43Speaker 1: he said, yeah, I wanted Kenny to do more. And
- 18:46Speaker 1: I was kind of surprised by it. It's like, what
- 18:47Speaker 1: else could he have done? I mean, he did start
- 18:52Speaker 1: out a little slow, but I thought, man, I was happy.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I mean, I was really happy to see an offense
- 18:58Speaker 1: out there that looked like a well-oiled machine. And they
- 19:02Speaker 1: were just so much fun. It almost was reminiscent of
- 19:08Speaker 1: How Mummy Days, is what it kind of felt like,
- 19:11Speaker 1: except the biggest difference was this team won. Whereas How Mummy,
- 19:17Speaker 1: greatest offense. I loved the air raid. I loved his
- 19:20Speaker 1: time when he was here at UK. But they did
- 19:23Speaker 1: struggle in winning. I mean, they had to outscore everybody
- 19:25Speaker 1: because they had no defense.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Now, was it any consolation seeing Oregon only beat Boise
- 19:34Speaker 3: State by seven?
- 19:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, from a Kentucky perspective, was that something that
- 19:40Speaker 1: was like, oh, hell yeah. Oh, exactly. Take Will Stein away,
- 19:43Speaker 1: and they're bums now. Yeah. And, you know, it's interesting
- 19:46Speaker 1: because I talked to a few UofL people over the weekend.
- 19:49Speaker 1: They're like, man that's the one coach that we did
- 19:52Speaker 1: not want uk to hire was will stein and here
- 19:55Speaker 1: he is so uh a lot of uofl people i've
- 20:00Speaker 1: talked to are getting really nervous and but but i
- 20:02Speaker 1: look at oregon and i think are they really the
- 20:05Speaker 1: number two team in the country not after that performance
- 20:08Speaker 1: not at all Uh, we'll, we'll talk about more of that.
- 20:11Speaker 1: We'll talk about more of, uh, the LSU game. We'll
- 20:14Speaker 1: talk about obviously the Michigan game, but when we come back,
- 20:18Speaker 1: I want to talk about the defense. So we'll talk
- 20:20Speaker 1: about that as well. Uh, should we be nervous or
- 20:23Speaker 1: are we, are we okay? So let's, let's talk about that.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Cause I want to hear what you have to say
- 20:27Speaker 1: about the defense as well. Justin, we'll get to your
- 20:30Speaker 1: texts as well. 502-384-1450. You want to call 502-414-1450. You
- 20:35Speaker 1: want to text in on the whiskey T text line,
- 20:37Speaker 1: or you can tweet me at just the cat. Stay
- 20:40Speaker 1: right there. We got a lot more. We got a
- 20:42Speaker 1: football game to talk about. Thank goodness we are so back.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Stay right there. More Just Cats coming right up. In
- 20:49Speaker 1: the trailer park So I jacked the keys to her
- 20:53Speaker 1: father's car And crashed that Chevrolet And then stepped away
- 21:09Speaker 1: Broke up with my.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Girl last night, so I went to the club, put
- 21:14Speaker 4: on a fresh one. I'm just looking for somebody to
- 21:36Speaker 4: talk to and show me some love.
- 21:38Speaker 1: If you know what I mean. No, I don't know
- 21:43Speaker 1: what you mean, but okay.
- 21:44Speaker 2: 502-384-1450.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You want to call in 502-414-1450. You want to text in.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Who is that guy?
- 21:46Speaker 2: T-Pain.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Oh, T-Pain. Oh, T-Pain. Oh, I should have known that.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I like that beat, by the way. Uh, but, uh,
- 22:01Speaker 1: you can also tweet me at just cat radio. Let's
- 22:03Speaker 1: get to a few, uh, texts before we move forward.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Cause I like to take care of the text people. Uh,
- 22:08Speaker 1: when they text in, uh, one person said, Michael, this
- 22:11Speaker 1: is formally Austin in Evansville. Formally Austin. Yeah. Oh, formerly
- 22:17Speaker 1: or formally. Formally. Oh, I like that. Why do you
- 22:21Speaker 1: like that? He's dressed up this morning. Oh, I don't
- 22:26Speaker 1: think that's what he means. Yeah, he's wearing a tuxedo.
- 22:31Speaker 1: What's that one song, Coat and Tie or something, or
- 22:36Speaker 1: Justin Timberlake? Yeah, okay. Well, I moved a few months back.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Now I am Austin and Cordon. Wait, so he was formerly. Yeah,
- 22:45Speaker 1: that's what I said, formerly. Formally.
- 22:48Speaker 3: No.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Formerly. Okay. Formerly. I don't know how much to speak
- 22:54Speaker 1: the English and make you understand my English. Well, quick plug, Austin.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Make sure you're listening to 1027 when you're in court. Really?
- 23:01Speaker 1: That's what we're going to do? We're going to do
- 23:03Speaker 1: a plug? Okay. Absolutely. Well, when are you on? I mean,
- 23:06Speaker 1: might as well tell them the hours. I mean, I'm
- 23:07Speaker 1: on all day. Are you really? I do a lot
- 23:09Speaker 1: of commercials. All right. But my shift is, I don't
- 23:12Speaker 1: want to say this. Why? You just promoted the freaking
- 23:16Speaker 1: station and you won't say the shift. Just listen to it.
- 23:20Speaker 1: When is the shift? Just say it. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Okay.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Oops.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I get it now. When will Big Blue Madness tickets
- 23:30Speaker 1: be available? It's less than a month away. My fiance
- 23:33Speaker 1: and I are headed down there that weekend for our
- 23:36Speaker 1: four-year anniversary. Oh, that's awesome. I would love to get
- 23:39Speaker 1: tickets for her. Any idea? Thanks. Well, first of all, congratulations.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Four years is big deal. And no, unfortunately, UK has
- 23:50Speaker 1: not announced it yet. But I'd like to make fun
- 23:54Speaker 1: of you because here we are talking about football and
- 23:56Speaker 1: you want to know about basketball, but it's okay. You're
- 23:59Speaker 1: asking a UK show and I don't have the answer yet.
- 24:03Speaker 1: But as soon as UK releases the dates, Austin, I'll
- 24:08Speaker 1: make sure you get that date. Okay. So you can
- 24:10Speaker 1: take care of your lovely date. Uh, and that's pretty cool.
- 24:13Speaker 1: So probably not a hard ticket to get, right? Probably what?
- 24:18Speaker 1: It's probably not a very hard ticket to get. Well,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I think the good ones are hard to get the
- 24:23Speaker 1: lower level ones, but, uh, yeah, I, I, I don't
- 24:26Speaker 1: know the last time UK sold out a big blue madness,
- 24:29Speaker 1: you know, it used to be, uh, really at midnight,
- 24:34Speaker 1: midnight madness, which I thought was awesome. All the students
- 24:38Speaker 1: would spend the night and camp out and waiting for
- 24:41Speaker 1: the tickets to go on sale and it would be
- 24:43Speaker 1: played at Memorial Coliseum and all that kind of stuff.
- 24:46Speaker 1: That was pretty cool back then. I kind of miss that.
- 24:48Speaker 1: But anyway, let's see. Zach texted, so when can we
- 24:53Speaker 1: start wearing white again? Great question. Zach, I mentioned that
- 24:58Speaker 1: a little earlier. Clearly, you're like your brother and you
- 25:00Speaker 1: didn't pay attention to me. Easter. Easter Sunday is when
- 25:05Speaker 1: you can wear that stuff. That's the big reveal for
- 25:09Speaker 1: all bright colors, white, linen, all kinds of stuff. So
- 25:12Speaker 1: you're telling me we can't wear white seven months out
- 25:14Speaker 1: of the year? Correct. That's ridiculous. That is the rule. Yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 1: you are not allowed to do that. Okay? I don't
- 25:22Speaker 1: make the rule. I don't enforce the rule. I just
- 25:26Speaker 1: relay the information about the rules. Okay? I'm a rule abider.
- 25:31Speaker 1: I don't know why I've always been that way. So anyway, uh,
- 25:35Speaker 1: Michelle texted out, I'm leaving for Arizona next week. It's
- 25:38Speaker 1: hot there. I'll wear my white, whatever. That's right. Tell
- 25:42Speaker 1: him Michelle. I will have to say that's one of
- 25:46Speaker 1: my favorite words is whatever, especially when people use it
- 25:51Speaker 1: and just like trying to get back with you, whatever.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I love that. There's a song by the Avett brothers. I,
- 25:58Speaker 1: and I don't think it's, uh, it's what, uh, it's,
- 26:01Speaker 1: The song is called Whatever, but in the lyrics, he
- 26:04Speaker 1: says whatever. And it just makes me laugh every time
- 26:07Speaker 1: I hear that song. So it's not used enough. Whatever. See, exactly.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I was waiting for it. Josh texted out, no white
- 26:18Speaker 1: after Labor Day? Al Sharpton got a chill. Does he
- 26:22Speaker 1: wear a lot of white, by the way? I don't
- 26:24Speaker 1: even know if I know who that is. Yeah, you do.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Al Sharpton's the guy that is always involved with Mike
- 26:30Speaker 1: Tyson or boxing, and he's the black guy that has
- 26:34Speaker 1: the hair that goes straight up. Yeah. He's iconic with
- 26:36Speaker 1: that hair. Is he still with us? That's the question.
- 26:41Speaker 1: He is. He is? How old?
- 26:44Speaker 5: 71.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Is that all? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I would have
- 26:48Speaker 1: figured he was like in his 80s, close to 90. Wow. Okay. Sorry,
- 26:52Speaker 1: Al Sharpton. Buzz texted in. He said, I have reached
- 26:56Speaker 1: the stage in life that I wear what I want
- 26:59Speaker 1: when I want, and I don't really care what anyone
- 27:02Speaker 1: else thinks. My wife is not a fan. Well, I do. Buzz,
- 27:09Speaker 1: I would do what my wife said, okay? If she's
- 27:11Speaker 1: not a fan, I think I would pay a little
- 27:13Speaker 1: attention to her, and maybe I won't be doing that.
- 27:16Speaker 1: So anyway, I can't ask you that question, Justin. You
- 27:20Speaker 1: don't have a wife. No, nor will I. See, that's
- 27:24Speaker 1: when you will have a wife. It's funny. So at
- 27:26Speaker 1: my family reunion on Sunday, we've had a discussion the
- 27:30Speaker 1: last couple of weeks trying to figure out. So I've got,
- 27:32Speaker 1: I think, 23 younger cousins on my dad's side. So
- 27:37Speaker 1: I've been asking everybody who they think is going to
- 27:39Speaker 1: be the last one to get married, and I'm the
- 27:42Speaker 1: popular answer. So I have to tell them all beforehand, oh,
- 27:46Speaker 1: I'm throwing out. I don't count because I'm going to
- 27:47Speaker 1: be last. Yes, I agree. Oh, my gosh. I screwed up.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Uh-oh.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Texter corrected me. That's Don King. It is Don King.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Al Sharpton is the civil rights activist. Oh, geez, man. Oh, okay.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Don King looks way different than Al Sharpton. Yeah. All right.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Look up Don King. I did. Is Don King still
- 28:12Speaker 1: with us? Don King is still with us. Is he really?
- 28:15Speaker 1: He's 95. Okay. That makes more sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay.
- 28:19Speaker 1: And Al Sharpton's only 71? Yeah. He looks a lot
- 28:26Speaker 1: older than that.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Don King was married to his wife for 51 years,
- 28:31Speaker 3: and I guess they split.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Oh, that's a shame.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Unless she passed, but they were only married until 2010.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Oh, really? 2010? That's not 50 years. No, until 2010.
- 28:44Speaker 1: They got married in 59. Oh, really? Yeah, she probably
- 28:47Speaker 1: passed away.
- 28:48Speaker 2: She did.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Okay, good. I walked. I was like, why are you
- 28:51Speaker 1: going to go 51 years and then just be like, no,
- 28:53Speaker 1: we're done here. Exactly. And I just said good that
- 28:56Speaker 1: she passed away. It's like, no, that's not what I mean.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I mean the fact that they didn't get divorced. But anyway,
- 29:04Speaker 1: that's terrible. That's not what I mean at all. Okay,
- 29:06Speaker 1: I promise. One person texted, wow, it's been a little
- 29:11Speaker 1: while since you've texted. Football is the greatest sport ever. Well, wait,
- 29:17Speaker 1: why is this coming up? We're missing something here. But, okay.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Every offensive scheme can overcome a defense. Every defensive scheme
- 29:29Speaker 1: can out an offense. Comes down to coaching. I like mine. Texer,
- 29:38Speaker 1: perfect way to say it. Couldn't agree with you more.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And it does come down to coaching. I just got
- 29:43Speaker 1: to a point where, again, I'm not trying to knock
- 29:46Speaker 1: Mark Stoops. I think he kind of checked out, especially
- 29:50Speaker 1: when Vince left. When Vince left UK, do you feel
- 29:56Speaker 1: like that Mark Stoops was kind of done?
- 30:01Speaker 3: I mean, not really, but when you take someone's right-hand
- 30:05Speaker 3: man away, it definitely changes the dynamic of things.
- 30:09Speaker 1: But I don't think he was done. Really? I just
- 30:13Speaker 1: kind of feel like, yeah, I'm out of here. I
- 30:15Speaker 1: just don't feel like he had it anymore. Really? You
- 30:18Speaker 1: don't feel like he had it? Hmm. And why do
- 30:23Speaker 1: you think that he didn't have it anymore? I don't know.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I just always got the feeling with Stoops that he's
- 30:31Speaker 3: not he wasn't big into the whole, the way that
- 30:34Speaker 3: college athletics is gone. Like we've seen a lot of
- 30:37Speaker 3: coaches retire because of it. I just, I think he
- 30:40Speaker 3: wanted to get out of being a head coach. So
- 30:43Speaker 3: he didn't have to deal with any of that.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Okay. I don't know. He just, but he's only 58, 57. Yeah.
- 30:53Speaker 1: And I just feel like at that age, you really,
- 30:55Speaker 1: or is he, or you feel like maybe it was
- 30:57Speaker 1: a burnout. Maybe it was a burnout. Because I look
- 31:01Speaker 1: at Mike Krzyzewski and I look at Nick Saban. I
- 31:06Speaker 1: don't know necessarily if it was a burnout more so
- 31:11Speaker 1: than they were just done. And with all the changes
- 31:16Speaker 1: in coaching and college sports today, they were just, I've
- 31:19Speaker 1: had it. You're asking me now to offer all these
- 31:23Speaker 1: players money, and I got to re-recruit my own players
- 31:28Speaker 1: every single year. I'm done. To me, this is, today's
- 31:33Speaker 1: college athletics has become a young man's job. And the
- 31:38Speaker 1: older coaches are just, I'm still surprised the coach at Kansas,
- 31:44Speaker 1: what's his name? Bill Self. Bill Self is still around.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I just say I think he'll be the next one
- 31:51Speaker 1: to go. Who else is up? Well, he won't want
- 31:53Speaker 1: to go because he's tired of it. He'll go for health.
- 31:57Speaker 1: But you got to believe maybe the health reasons are
- 31:59Speaker 1: a result of having to be tired of all this crap.
- 32:02Speaker 1: You can't speculate on that at all. Well, you're right,
- 32:05Speaker 1: but I'm speculating anyway. So there you go. One person
- 32:09Speaker 1: texted in Al Sharpton is a quote unquote reverend, although
- 32:14Speaker 1: probably less trustworthy. than the righteous gin stones. Oh my gosh.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I didn't know that, but I don't know much. I
- 32:22Speaker 1: know he's a activist and all that. I don't know
- 32:24Speaker 1: much about all Sharpton, but nor do I want to
- 32:26Speaker 1: get into that kind of stuff, but there you go. I,
- 32:30Speaker 1: all right, let's get back to UK. Let's talk about
- 32:35Speaker 1: the defense. Now defensively. Can you really read into this
- 32:40Speaker 1: side of the ball yet? Justin? None at all. Tell
- 32:43Speaker 1: me why.
- 32:44Speaker 3: I mean, based on what I saw, it didn't look
- 32:47Speaker 3: like they did anything too exotic or crazy.
- 32:50Speaker 1: See, that's where I think they were even more vanilla. Yeah.
- 32:55Speaker 1: The only thing, I would say the only thing that
- 32:58Speaker 1: was concerning to me, as far as the defensive side,
- 33:02Speaker 1: the lack of pressure on the Youngstown State quarterback. Yeah.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I mean, that to me was a little worrisome by
- 33:09Speaker 1: the UK defensive line. that they were not able to
- 33:13Speaker 1: get to him and put more pressure on him. And
- 33:17Speaker 1: maybe it is because of the vanilla side. But I
- 33:20Speaker 1: just don't think that's a pretty good excuse. I don't
- 33:23Speaker 1: think that's a good excuse at all. But the other
- 33:26Speaker 1: part is, on the other side, just playing devil's advocate,
- 33:30Speaker 1: Youngstown State, one of their tackles, remember he is a
- 33:34Speaker 1: projected top three round NFL draft pick this coming year.
- 33:40Speaker 1: That's just one guy. Yeah.
- 33:43Speaker 3: I mean, when you're at a school like Kentucky, one
- 33:47Speaker 3: guy that's on Youngstown State that's projected to be a
- 33:49Speaker 3: top three or top round three.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Why can't I say that? A top three, top round
- 33:56Speaker 1: three pick. I still not. Third round. Whatever. Yeah, third
- 34:00Speaker 1: round draft pick. I mean, that still shouldn't matter. You
- 34:03Speaker 1: should eat his luck. Well, I mean, you look at him,
- 34:06Speaker 1: he's probably the highest rated draft pick in all the
- 34:08Speaker 1: FCS is what they're saying. And you don't think that matters? No,
- 34:13Speaker 1: it shouldn't. Not when you're at a place like Kentucky.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Uh, the other part I did like on the defensive side,
- 34:19Speaker 1: UK played a lot of guys, 27 different players had
- 34:23Speaker 1: a tackle. Holy moly. Did you not know that? No,
- 34:26Speaker 1: I thought that was huge. Uh, I, I was a
- 34:30Speaker 1: little worried about Tavian Wallace who limped off the field, uh,
- 34:36Speaker 1: You know, at one point, and of course, you know,
- 34:38Speaker 1: he's that inside linebacker, but it seemed like UK came
- 34:41Speaker 1: out of the game without any significant injury. That's the
- 34:45Speaker 1: other best part. That's the main thing. Yeah. Great crowd.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Let's talk about the crowd. Crowd was awesome. Crowd was awesome.
- 34:51Speaker 1: They showed up before the game. They showed up at
- 34:54Speaker 1: the beginning of the game. Then they left third quarter.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I'm okay with that, honestly. Mm-hmm. Because, you know, you
- 35:01Speaker 1: look at a lot of other games. They were empty.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I mean, you look at the Alabama game. I turned
- 35:05Speaker 1: that on for a little bit. Place was empty. Florida
- 35:09Speaker 1: was the same way. I mean, it's just too hot.
- 35:12Speaker 1: You can't expect all these fans who were fading everywhere
- 35:16Speaker 1: to stay there for the entire game. What else? The
- 35:23Speaker 1: third quarter, they were all gone. I did like that
- 35:26Speaker 1: they had former players there from the Mark Stoops era.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Josh Allen, Wondell Robinson, Lynn Bowden, Landon Young was there.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Chris Rodriguez. That's right. C-Rod was there. Yeah. I love
- 35:42Speaker 1: that a lot of the Mark Stoops era players came
- 35:47Speaker 1: to show support for Will Stein. I thought that was
- 35:50Speaker 1: a great Great thing on both sides. For sure. But anyway, overall,
- 35:56Speaker 1: a very successful start for UK and Willis-Stein. Offense was
- 36:00Speaker 1: a huge upgrade to today's era type football. Now, here's
- 36:06Speaker 1: the other thing that I left out until last, all right?
- 36:10Speaker 1: Alex Safari played in the third quarter. Were you surprised
- 36:13Speaker 1: by that? Oh, he did end up getting in? He
- 36:16Speaker 1: did get in the third quarter, yes.
- 36:18Speaker 3: So I, I mean, I am a little surprised by
- 36:21Speaker 3: that because I was, I had to worry about that
- 36:23Speaker 3: on my side of things as well with Indiana. They
- 36:26Speaker 3: played Kellen Wyatt who, who got an injunction as well.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I don't know how to feel about that. I'm just
- 36:33Speaker 3: hoping that it's not one of those things that comes
- 36:35Speaker 3: back to bite.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I would worry about the same thing with the far.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I was glad that Ole Miss didn't play their pros.
- 36:44Speaker 3: That was cool.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Didn't need them. Oh boy. Yep. All right, let's take
- 36:50Speaker 1: a break. When we come back, I do want to
- 36:53Speaker 1: talk about Lane Kiffin. I'm sorry we're going to talk
- 36:56Speaker 1: about it. I know you don't like him, but he
- 36:59Speaker 1: was hilarious. I just, I loved everything he did. And
- 37:03Speaker 1: I think it's because you don't like it because you
- 37:05Speaker 1: don't like him. I like him. I loved it. So
- 37:08Speaker 1: we'll talk about it as soon as we get back.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Stay right there. We'll get back to your texts as well.
- 37:12Speaker 2: 502-414-1450.
- 37:12Speaker 1: 502-384-1450. You want to call. More Just Cats coming up
- 37:14Speaker 1: right after this. We'll see you next time. My baby
- 37:52Speaker 1: born and working. She's been telling me all night long.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Gasoline and groceries. The list goes on and on. This
- 38:05Speaker 1: 95 ain't working. Why the hell do I work so hard?
- 38:08Speaker 1: I can't worry about my problems. I can't take them
- 38:13Speaker 1: when I'm gone.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Is this country?
- 38:16Speaker 4: Uh, no.
- 38:16Speaker 1: What is this? I guess it would be a subset
- 38:18Speaker 1: of country. Pop country. I mean, because it's rap too, right?
- 38:44Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. I don't know what any
- 38:47Speaker 1: of the new country would be classed. All right. Do
- 38:50Speaker 1: you like that song? Love that song. Do you really? Yeah,
- 38:53Speaker 1: love it. I do too.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Well, that's because it's a throwback to an older... tipsy
- 38:58Speaker 3: song by jay kwan that i really liked oh so
- 39:02Speaker 3: when this one was released it reminded me of the
- 39:04Speaker 3: older song which i really liked okay yeah i love
- 39:06Speaker 3: this are you playing that one a little later i'm
- 39:08Speaker 3: not okay no worries i can no no it's okay no.
- 39:11Speaker 1: No no you've got your song.
- 39:12Speaker 3: List i'm pivoting now no i don't want you to
- 39:15Speaker 3: i don't like my last song.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Oh you don't well then definitely pivot if you don't
- 39:18Speaker 1: like the last song okay well you're welcome Let's go
- 39:22Speaker 1: back to the Whiskey Thief text line, 502-414-1450. Pastor Rod,
- 39:24Speaker 1: a random thoughts guy, said, I've notified the FCC about the, what?
- 39:34Speaker 1: The poop bombs yesterday. Expect ice to show up any
- 39:40Speaker 1: moment now. I always think of lean on me when
- 39:44Speaker 1: I hear welcome to the jungle. What about you, Trev? Oh,
- 39:48Speaker 1: this is not even for me. I was like, we
- 39:50Speaker 1: didn't have a poop bomb.
- 39:52Speaker 2: No.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I think they did on Rutherford on Friday. Oh, you
- 39:55Speaker 1: know what? Oops. I didn't scroll down. I'm so sorry,
- 39:59Speaker 1: podcast random thoughts guy. I should have scrolled down. Okay.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Here's something on the origination of not wearing white after
- 40:07Speaker 1: Labor Day since I missed my history fact on Friday.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Thank you very much. I appreciate this. No wonder Michael
- 40:14Speaker 1: knows these rules. Gotta admit, UK looked pretty good on Saturday,
- 40:18Speaker 1: but this next game will be better barometer. See, and
- 40:22Speaker 1: I agree with you right there, PRTG. You're right. This
- 40:27Speaker 1: is going to be a barometer checked on Saturday. I
- 40:31Speaker 1: don't expect... Well, I'll say it now. I don't mind
- 40:34Speaker 1: because we're going to talk about it all week. I
- 40:36Speaker 1: don't expect UK to win. No. But, Justin, if they
- 40:41Speaker 1: play a really good game and I see really good
- 40:44Speaker 1: things on offense, I see really good things on defense
- 40:48Speaker 1: and still come up with a loss, I'm going to
- 40:50Speaker 1: be really happy. I'm going to see, okay, this UK
- 40:54Speaker 1: football program is in a new direction.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 40:57Speaker 3: In a positive way. I mean, that's what we talked
- 40:59Speaker 3: about all summer, basically. You don't have to go out
- 41:02Speaker 3: and be eight and four, but if you go out,
- 41:04Speaker 3: even if you're four and eight, but it looks like
- 41:07Speaker 3: you're in four or five of those games that you lost,
- 41:10Speaker 3: then it makes it a lot better. This year isn't
- 41:14Speaker 3: about the record so much or achieving anything great. This
- 41:17Speaker 3: year is just seeing what this Will Stein team is
- 41:21Speaker 3: going to be all about moving forward into the future.
- 41:23Speaker 1: But he does have some really, really good athletes, and
- 41:27Speaker 1: he's got some really, really, really potentially good athletes. Yep.
- 41:31Speaker 1: That's the defining factor right there. Okay, I don't know
- 41:34Speaker 1: if I'm going to enjoy this or not. He sent
- 41:37Speaker 1: a message about class signifiers and exclusivity. Old money versus
- 41:43Speaker 1: new money. Establish social elites. used rigid wardrobe guidelines to
- 41:50Speaker 1: separate themselves from the rising nouveau riche, I don't know, R-I-C-H-E,
- 41:59Speaker 1: newly wealthy, attempting to enter high society circles, knowing the
- 42:04Speaker 1: unspoken rules became a test of true insider status. The
- 42:10Speaker 1: symbol of leisure, wealthy families left sweltering industrial cities during
- 42:14Speaker 1: the summer months for coastal resorts like Newport, Rhode Island,
- 42:17Speaker 1: and Southampton. They wore lightweight, breathable white clothing to stay
- 42:21Speaker 1: cool and signal that they were on vacation rather than
- 42:25Speaker 1: working manual jobs. And in seasonal and practical reasons, the
- 42:29Speaker 1: end of summer, Labor Day, established as a federal holiday
- 42:33Speaker 1: in 1894, I didn't know it was that long ago,
- 42:36Speaker 1: served as the natural calendar marker for summer's end, prompting
- 42:40Speaker 1: the wealthy to return to cities and transition back to
- 42:42Speaker 1: every year, darker business attire. Okay, thank you. It still
- 42:49Speaker 1: doesn't really answer the question. It still seems dumb. So,
- 42:52Speaker 1: in other words, it's the rich versus the poor. It's like, stop,
- 42:55Speaker 1: that's not me. One person, Joss texted in, I didn't
- 43:01Speaker 1: judge Mark for anything negative after his mother passed. just
- 43:05Speaker 1: like I haven't judged Kanye for anything after his mother passed,
- 43:09Speaker 1: that changes a man. Listen, any time you lose a
- 43:15Speaker 1: parent changes you. Listen, I'm speaking from experience, and it's
- 43:20Speaker 1: not a fun experience to be a part of. And
- 43:23Speaker 1: then I will say this as well. Any time you
- 43:26Speaker 1: are now without both your parents, you change in a
- 43:29Speaker 1: different way again. Because I can tell you, when I
- 43:32Speaker 1: lost my mom, I changed. Then when I lost my
- 43:37Speaker 1: dad years later, I changed again. Because it's weird. Every
- 43:43Speaker 1: now and then, Justin, I get, oh, I got to
- 43:45Speaker 1: call dad. I'll be excited about something. I got to
- 43:48Speaker 1: call my dad. And I still have that feeling six
- 43:50Speaker 1: years later. I just had it recently. And it just sucks. Yeah,
- 43:56Speaker 1: it does. It doesn't matter if you lost your mom,
- 43:58Speaker 1: your dad, or your man or a woman. Anytime you
- 44:01Speaker 1: lose a parent or someone of significance to you, Because
- 44:05Speaker 1: I've lost, you know, we celebrated a close, close, close,
- 44:10Speaker 1: close friend that was like another parent to me last
- 44:14Speaker 1: week down in Florida. And it's hard. It just really
- 44:19Speaker 1: kind of sucks. But anyway, one person texted, more vanilla
- 44:24Speaker 1: UK's defense or vanilla ice? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I'd have to say UK's defense was more vanilla. What
- 44:33Speaker 1: do you think, Justin? I would say vanilla ice. Would
- 44:36Speaker 1: you really? More on the vanilla ice ice baby. I mean,
- 44:39Speaker 1: it's in his name for crying out loud. It is,
- 44:42Speaker 1: but I mean, the defense was rather boring. Hopefully UK's
- 44:46Speaker 1: defense will light up the stage and wax Bama like
- 44:49Speaker 1: a candle. That's a nice little saying right there. One
- 44:53Speaker 1: person said you can't read into the defense very vanilla.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Bateman is high risk, high reward D.C., Yeah, I would
- 45:02Speaker 1: agree with that. Do we like that, though, Justin? Do
- 45:06Speaker 1: we like the fact that our defensive coordinator at UK
- 45:12Speaker 1: is high risk, high reward? I'm a risk taker.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I've got no issues with it. I mean, that'll
- 45:20Speaker 3: give you the opportunity to lead to some big defensive plays,
- 45:23Speaker 3: which would be huge.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:24Speaker 3: But then at the same time, it also opens you
- 45:27Speaker 3: up a little bit being susceptible to allowing things.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you're exactly correct. But listen, because the percentages go
- 45:39Speaker 1: down on those high-risk plays for the long plays, the
- 45:43Speaker 1: long passes. I like that. I think the odds are
- 45:47Speaker 1: better for you on the defensive side than the offensive side.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Am I wrong to say that? No, I'd agree with that.
- 45:52Speaker 1: I would agree with that too, especially since I just
- 45:54Speaker 1: said it. All right, LSU blows out. We don't have
- 45:58Speaker 1: enough time to give this just. How much time do
- 46:00Speaker 1: we have? We have got a minute 15. Okay, this
- 46:03Speaker 1: is not enough time, but I do want to talk
- 46:05Speaker 1: about Lane Kiffin because he did come out with a comment.
- 46:10Speaker 1: What was it? Between quarters or at halftime, I can't
- 46:13Speaker 1: remember which it was, where the TV lady comes over,
- 46:18Speaker 1: which I never liked. uh and ask him a question
- 46:22Speaker 1: and lane kiffin responds by saying imagine if we had
- 46:25Speaker 1: pro players did you like the comment no why i
- 46:30Speaker 1: i mean i just i didn't feel like it was
- 46:32Speaker 1: necessary in that moment like you know he was dying
- 46:35Speaker 1: to say oh i know because that's just who he
- 46:37Speaker 1: is yes i just i don't know i don't like
- 46:39Speaker 1: him him coming out for that game too with like
- 46:42Speaker 1: livy dunn and all that i'm Oh, yeah, that's the
- 46:46Speaker 1: other part. Yes. Why is Livvy done walking with him
- 46:50Speaker 1: in the LSU Tiger walk before the game? Because he
- 46:53Speaker 1: wants to be cool. Is that what it is, or
- 46:56Speaker 1: is he flirting with her? Paul Stevens will beat the
- 47:00Speaker 1: hell out of it. Yeah, but... Maybe so, but you
- 47:04Speaker 1: never know. Listen, a fight between those two I think
- 47:08Speaker 1: would be kind of fun. No. Oh, yes. I don't
- 47:12Speaker 1: think you're giving Lane Kiffin enough credit there. Dude wears
- 47:15Speaker 1: flip-flops everywhere he goes. That's okay. He's not fighting. I
- 47:19Speaker 1: don't know about that. We're going to talk more about
- 47:21Speaker 1: that when we come back. So our two coming up
- 47:23Speaker 1: with just the cats. Stay right there. Keep the text coming.
- 47:29Speaker 1: There's a party downtown near 50. Everybody at the.
- 47:33Speaker 4: Bar getting tipsy. Everybody at the bar getting tipsy.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 47:55Speaker 4: 502-384-1450.
- 47:56Speaker 1: You want to call 502-414-1450. You want to text in
- 48:00Speaker 1: or on the Whiskey Thief text line. You can tweet
- 48:02Speaker 1: me at Just the Cat Radio. Justin, I got to
- 48:04Speaker 1: tell you, it's fun having sports back. You know, it
- 48:07Speaker 1: makes a difference in the show. I do enjoy summer
- 48:10Speaker 1: shows for a time period, but then it's just like, okay,
- 48:14Speaker 1: I'm ready for something else. Agreed. Yeah. And having sports back,
- 48:18Speaker 1: you can see the engagement. Everybody's wanting to talk about
- 48:20Speaker 1: the football game. Talk about all kinds of stuff. And,
- 48:22Speaker 1: of course, I got all kinds of topics, and I'm
- 48:24Speaker 1: worried we're not going to have time for the rest
- 48:26Speaker 1: of them. But we'll have tomorrow. Oh, we got all week. Yeah,
- 48:30Speaker 1: that's right. Well, three more days. That's true.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:33Speaker 1: And, by the way, you know, I screwed up. I
- 48:36Speaker 1: had completely forgotten I had invited Steven Peake to come
- 48:39Speaker 1: on the show. Today?
- 48:41Speaker 2: No.
- 48:44Speaker 1: When I went on that little vacation I had a
- 48:46Speaker 1: couple weeks ago. I completely forgot. Then I'd completely forgotten.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Thank goodness he was listening to tell him that I
- 48:53Speaker 1: wasn't going to be there. And so he's coming on Friday. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
- 48:58Speaker 1: So that'd be fun. I've never spent much time with
- 49:00Speaker 1: him and I look forward to it. I think he is.
- 49:04Speaker 1: I agree with you. So I'm looking forward to doing that. But,
- 49:07Speaker 1: you know, today, Tuesday, you know what that means, don't you?
- 49:11Speaker 1: You say you'll never join the Navy. Where's that come from? Atlantic.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I'll be back in time. For some reason, there's a
- 49:27Speaker 1: commercial playing on YouTube. I have no idea why. Are
- 49:30Speaker 1: you kidding me? That was wild. I thought you were
- 49:33Speaker 1: coming up with something else. But, you know, today's button
- 49:37Speaker 1: your top button today. And so there you go. I've
- 49:40Speaker 1: got mine done. Justin, do you have yours buttoned up? No,
- 49:43Speaker 1: I'm not wearing a button shirt. Okay, fine. But Corey's here.
- 49:47Speaker 1: I'm here. He's got his button all the way to
- 49:49Speaker 1: the top. I bet now, when he had the problem
- 49:53Speaker 1: last week with the top button missing from his shirt,
- 49:56Speaker 1: I bet before he puts the shirt on, he checks
- 49:59Speaker 1: to make sure the button is on the top button.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I mean, yeah. Yes, yes, yes. The answer is yes.
- 50:07Speaker 1: You do that now. I did find the button. Oh,
- 50:10Speaker 1: you did? I might give the scoots to Sew Up.
- 50:12Speaker 1: We'll see. $ 25. No. Oh, my gosh. It was $ 14. 99
- 50:17Speaker 1: last week. Each day you delay, it goes up another two.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Isn't it funny that he remembered exactly what the amount?
- 50:25Speaker 1: That is crazy. Yeah, exactly. So you want to go
- 50:28Speaker 1: ahead and give your stat of the show already?
- 50:32Speaker 5: Oh, so this past Friday, I think it's the first
- 50:34Speaker 5: time I ever did a show on Friday with you all.
- 50:36Speaker 5: And now it's the first time I've ever done back-to-back
- 50:38Speaker 5: shows with you.
- 50:39Speaker 1: How do you like that, Justin? I love it. He's
- 50:41Speaker 1: keeping stats of the show, and he said it's not
- 50:43Speaker 1: a stat. Yes, it's a stat. It's not a stat.
- 50:46Speaker 1: Two in a row. It's an observation. Okay, fine. It's
- 50:51Speaker 1: an observation. Tweet it out, though. That'll make me happy. Okay,
- 50:54Speaker 1: I'll tweet it out. Never mind. Just forget it. Golly.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Comes on this show every week. Just want a little
- 51:02Speaker 1: tweet and a little recognition. And he's just, all right, whatever.
- 51:04Speaker 1: I mean, I do upload the segment. Yes, you do.
- 51:07Speaker 1: And I appreciate that. And I tag you. Although, last
- 51:10Speaker 1: Friday's you didn't upload until last night. I know. What
- 51:12Speaker 1: the hell are you doing, Corey? Exactly. I had a
- 51:14Speaker 1: busy weekend, you know.
- 51:15Speaker 3: By the way, where's our UK sports media video from
- 51:20Speaker 3: the press box?
- 51:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a win.
- 51:23Speaker 5: It's always the week after. And obviously, Monday was a holiday. So,
- 51:27Speaker 5: I mean, best case, probably will come out tomorrow.
- 51:30Speaker 1: I guess. Okay. Well, and you'll be in it, right? Uh,
- 51:34Speaker 1: I was there on Saturday. So yeah. Yeah. High five
- 51:36Speaker 1: and fist bumping. Uh, fist, fist bumps were, were, were had.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Good time.
- 51:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Did you tell, uh, Jeff McCurl you're his favorite? Uh,
- 51:48Speaker 1: I didn't know. I got a shirt for him though. Oh,
- 51:50Speaker 1: you did? Which I will give to him on Saturday.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Does it say you're my favorite? Uh, no, it does not.
- 51:56Speaker 1: What does it say? It's a surprise. He's not listening.
- 52:00Speaker 1: He's not listening. Oh, my gosh. Okay. Let me get
- 52:04Speaker 1: Jeff McCurl on the line right now. Maybe off air,
- 52:07Speaker 1: I'll tell you. But then you'll probably say on air.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Of course I will. No, I won't tell you. Jeez Louise, man. Okay.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I can just tell you right now, Jeff McCurl's got
- 52:19Speaker 1: better things to do than to listen to Michael Bennett
- 52:22Speaker 1: for two hours on the radio. I would bet money,
- 52:26Speaker 1: any amount of money you want to bet Jeff for curls.
- 52:30Speaker 1: I'll even get them on. I'll text him right now.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Are you listening to just the cats right now? All right.
- 52:36Speaker 1: I'm texting and he'll be like, what? And he will.
- 52:39Speaker 1: And he will say, absolutely. I, I, I love Corey price. Really? Okay.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Do you want me to text Jeff right now? All right.
- 52:48Speaker 1: I'm going to text him right now. It's your phone.
- 52:50Speaker 1: I don't care what you give your phone.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:52Speaker 1: How about I do this week in history? How about that?
- 52:55Speaker 1: Let's do it. That sounds good to me. September 6th
- 52:58Speaker 1: through 12th, September 6th, 1980.
- 53:02Speaker 2: U.K.
- 53:02Speaker 5: Football defeats Utah State 17-10 at Commonwealth Stadium.
- 53:06Speaker 1: It's U.K.
- 53:07Speaker 5: 's first ever win against Utah State. Terry Henry had
- 53:11Speaker 5: the game-winning score in a one-yard touchdown run with 11.06
- 53:13Speaker 5: left in the fourth quarter.
- 53:15Speaker 2: U.K.
- 53:16Speaker 5: Was led on offense by two 100-yard rushers. Terry Henry
- 53:19Speaker 5: with 112 yards and Randy Brooks with 109 yards. September 6, 2024.
- 53:26Speaker 5: Comedy horror film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is released.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Did you all see? Don't say it one more time.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Did you all see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice? I never did. Is
- 53:34Speaker 1: this the original? No. No. 2024? No. Absolutely not. Okay. Well,
- 53:41Speaker 1: off to a great start. The original was awesome. Of course. Yeah.
- 53:44Speaker 1: The second one was dumb. But you haven't seen it, right?
- 53:47Speaker 2: No.
- 53:48Speaker 1: So how do you know? I can just tell from
- 53:50Speaker 1: the little takes of it. Yeah, it was dumb. Okay,
- 53:52Speaker 1: fair enough. I know lots of things that I don't
- 53:54Speaker 1: know about. Well, that's quite a scene.
- 53:59Speaker 5: Directed by Tim Burton, it stars Monica Bellucci, William Dafoe,
- 54:05Speaker 5: Michael Keaton, Catherine O'Hara, Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder, and Justin Theroux.
- 54:12Speaker 5: Film grossed approximately $ 294. 1 million domestically. Making it the sixth
- 54:18Speaker 5: highest grossing film of 2024. And the film was nominated
- 54:22Speaker 5: for 12 Saturn Awards, winning four Best Fantasy Film, Best
- 54:27Speaker 5: Film Costume Design, Best Film Music, and Best Younger Actor
- 54:32Speaker 5: in a Film. This next one's pretty big. September 7th, 1979,
- 54:37Speaker 5: the sports TV channel ESPN is launched.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Boom! I'm somewhat familiar with it. You don't like ESPN?
- 54:46Speaker 1: I did like it. I used to, yeah. I used to.
- 54:48Speaker 1: I'm the same way. Yeah, I do not. There's so
- 54:50Speaker 1: much overexposure. Yeah, and it's down to just two people.
- 54:55Speaker 1: McAfee and Smith. Exactly. Am I wrong about that? What
- 55:01Speaker 1: is the reason you don't watch it anymore, Justin?
- 55:03Speaker 3: I mean, I just don't really like the programming anymore.
- 55:07Speaker 3: With the exception of when it's Scott Van Pelt at night,
- 55:10Speaker 3: I enjoy that.
- 55:11Speaker 1: I like him, yeah. But I'm never awake at that time.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Do you watch it still quite a bit? Now, I'll
- 55:16Speaker 1: watch the games, but outside of live sports, is there
- 55:21Speaker 1: anything that you watch, Corey Price?
- 55:23Speaker 5: Outside of live sports, like Scoot said, I enjoy Scatman Pelt.
- 55:27Speaker 1: But like you guys, that's... See, it's the same thing.
- 55:30Speaker 1: That's about it. Yeah. So you're not a McAfee fan? No,
- 55:34Speaker 1: I'm not. I am a McAfee fan, but I still
- 55:37Speaker 1: don't watch it. Why are you a McAfee fan and
- 55:40Speaker 1: you don't even watch it? Michael, we've had this discussion.
- 55:42Speaker 1: I don't care. It amazes me every time.
- 55:47Speaker 5: Founded by Ed Egan, Bill Rasmussen, and Scott Rasmussen in Bristol, Connecticut.
- 55:53Speaker 5: I found this kind of odd.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Maybe, I don't know. Maybe not.
- 55:57Speaker 5: The current breakdown of the ownership. The Walt Disney Company
- 56:01Speaker 5: owns 72%.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Oh.
- 56:04Speaker 5: Hearst Communications owns 18%. And the final 10% is owned
- 56:08Speaker 5: by the NFL.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Really? No, the NFL owns 10%. I had no idea.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Rich being richer. Exactly. I thought ABC owned 100% or
- 56:19Speaker 1: Disney owned 100% of it. Only 72%. Wow. And the
- 56:22Speaker 1: NFL owns part of it. 10%. Okay. Bizarre. Yeah, it
- 56:27Speaker 1: is bizarre.
- 56:28Speaker 5: In 2011, the channel was at its peak when it
- 56:31Speaker 5: was in 100 million households in America.
- 56:34Speaker 1: All right. Don't answer the question. Are you done talking
- 56:37Speaker 1: about ESPN? Yes.
- 56:39Speaker 5: Oh, you said don't answer the question. You just asked
- 56:41Speaker 5: me a question. Sorry. That is perfect. Do either of
- 56:48Speaker 5: you know what ESPN stands for? Just say yes or no.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 56:52Speaker 1: You both do?
- 56:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Pretty sure yes.
- 56:54Speaker 2: All right.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Pretty sure yes. All right.
- 56:57Speaker 5: Go ahead, Corey. The E, I'm pretty sure it's Sports
- 57:04Speaker 5: Programming Network. Is the E excellence or entertainment?
- 57:08Speaker 1: Entertainment. I thought it was Entertainment, Sports, and Political Network.
- 57:16Speaker 2: No.
- 57:16Speaker 1: It's not political. It's not political. It's never been political,
- 57:19Speaker 1: but I always thought they had it originally in there.
- 57:21Speaker 1: What is it, Justin? I think Corey nailed it. Entertainment
- 57:25Speaker 1: and Sports Programming Network. That's what I've always thought it was. Yeah,
- 57:28Speaker 1: it is. Yeah. Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:33Speaker 1: Okay, cool. I mean, you could make the argument that
- 57:35Speaker 1: it's political. It's become political. I mean, yeah. Unfortunately, sports
- 57:40Speaker 1: is political. It's true. September 7th, 1991.
- 57:44Speaker 5: UK football defeats Miami of Ohio 23-20 at Commonwealth Stadium.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Shut up, Justin. Three-point win.
- 57:54Speaker 4: Yay!
- 57:58Speaker 1: Haters are going to hate. So UK's first win against
- 58:01Speaker 1: Miami Ohio since 1911. Oh, wow.
- 58:04Speaker 5: They were 0-4-1 in their previous five meetings against the
- 58:07Speaker 5: Red Hawks.
- 58:07Speaker 1: What's more embarrassing, the fact that you won by three
- 58:10Speaker 1: or you didn't beat them since 1911? Good grief. Yeah,
- 58:14Speaker 1: but how long had it been since we played them
- 58:17Speaker 1: in 1990?
- 58:17Speaker 5: I mean, they played them five times in between those
- 58:21Speaker 5: 80 years. So I didn't look at the exact last meeting,
- 58:24Speaker 5: but they didn't play a lot.
- 58:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:27Speaker 5: You can have the game when you score on a
- 58:28Speaker 5: 34-yard touchdown pass from Brad Smith to Kurt Johnson with.
- 58:31Speaker 5: 357 left in the fourth quarter. And Neil Clark by
- 58:34Speaker 5: the Wildcats' offense with 83 receiving yards on four receptions.
- 58:39Speaker 5: September 8, 1960, the horror film Psycho is released in theaters.
- 58:44Speaker 5: I'm assuming you're a Psycho guy.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good movie. Scooch, are you Psycho?
- 58:50Speaker 2: Nope.
- 58:50Speaker 1: I am Psycho. Yeah, he's Psycho. Yeah, we all agree
- 58:51Speaker 1: with that one. But I've never seen Psycho. Yeah. You're
- 58:54Speaker 1: missing out. It's directed by Albert Hitchcock.
- 58:56Speaker 5: It stars Martin Balsam, John Gavin, Janet Leigh, John McIntyre,
- 59:02Speaker 5: Vera Miles, and Anthony Perkins. The film grossed approximately $ 32. 2
- 59:06Speaker 5: million domestically. making it the second highest grossing film of 1960.
- 59:11Speaker 5: The film's shower scene was ranked number four on Broadway's
- 59:16Speaker 5: list of the 100 scariest movie moments.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Ranked what number? Four. Wow, one of the
- 59:22Speaker 1: top ones. Interesting. Yeah. After watching it, I had a
- 59:27Speaker 1: problem taking a shower. At St. William.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:30Speaker 1: I mean, I was always looking out. Scooch thinks it's funny,
- 59:32Speaker 1: but it does make you, yeah. I mean, you're not
- 59:36Speaker 1: turning me on to want to watch it, for what
- 59:38Speaker 1: it's worth. I like my showers. I don't want those
- 59:40Speaker 1: to be rude. Appreciate it. September 8th. This is a
- 59:44Speaker 1: big one, too.
- 59:45Speaker 5: September 8th, 2018, UK football defeats number 25, Florida, 27-16
- 59:49Speaker 5: in Gainesville.
- 59:50Speaker 1: What year is this? 2018. Yeah. The year the streak ended.
- 59:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:54Speaker 5: So, UK's first win against Florida since 1986, and the
- 59:57Speaker 5: first win in Gainesville since 1979. Devontae Robinson had a
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: 30-yard fumble return for a touchdown on the final play
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: of the game to secure the win. And UK ran
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: for 303 yards.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Gee.
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: Led by 175 by Benny Snell Jr. and 105 by
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: Terry Wilson. And I was at that game.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: So was I. Amazing. It was amazing. Worst snack box
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: I've ever had in my life.
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: I didn't care what snack box, but I cared.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: For the win. I threw it away. Opened it up
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: and threw it away. It's like, this is what you're
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: feeding us. Take that for it, all right?
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: September 9th, 1975, the comedy series Welcome Back, Cotter aired
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: its first episode on TV. Were you a Welcome Back,
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: Cotter fan?
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I was fine. Never even heard of it. Really? No.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: John Travolta was in it. That was his first big break.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: And the theme song's pretty good. Yeah.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: Created by Gabe Kaplan and Alan Sachs. It stars Robert Hegyes,
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, Gabe Kaplan, Ron Polillo, Marcia Strassman, John Travolta,
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: as you mentioned, and John Sylvester White. The show aired
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: a total of 95 episodes over four seasons on ABC.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: The show was nominated for an Emmy Award. There it is! Yes!
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Welcome back. I had to hear it. I bet you
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: brought it up. All right, go ahead, Corey. Yeah, that's good.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Let it play. Let it play. Go ahead, Corey.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: The show was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: Comedy Series in 1976, but lost to The Mary Tyler
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: Moore Show.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Oh, terrible loss right there. Okay, that's enough of it.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: That's good. I like it. So you really never heard
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: that song before? No, never. Oh, my gosh. Scoots will
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: love this one. September 9th, 1989.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: U.K.
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: Football defeats Indiana 17-14 at Como Stadium.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: I'll beat a bum-ass Indiana team by three. Suck it, scoots.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Suck it, scoots. This is U.K.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: 's fourth win in the last five innings against Indiana.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Oh, my goodness. U.K.
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: 's game-winning score came on a 47-yard field goal by
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: Ken Willis, with 8-18 left in the third quarter. And
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: Alfred Raw also the Wildcats offense with 159 yards from scrimmage,
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: 107 rushing, and 52 yards receivings.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Alfred Rawls. What a great guy. Y'all beat a 5-6
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Indiana team. Well done. Poor, poor Scoots. Man.
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: Must suck this up. September 10th, 1941. This is another
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: big one. The Chocolate Candy M & M' s is founded.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: 1941? Really? Y'all big. M & M fans? Oh, yes.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: I like M & M. All right. You like them
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: plain or peanut? Peanut. I don't like nuts. Sorry, guys. Well,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: you're in here every Tuesday, so you must like them.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Good call. All right. That's good.
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: The candy is named after Forrest Mars Sr., the son
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: of the Mars Company founder, and Bruce Murray, the son
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: of the Hershey Chocolate Company president at the time. That's
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: where M & M' s are.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Did they look the same, too, is what I would
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: like to know. Did they have a different? No. The
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: M & M' s themselves. Yeah, did the two guys look
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: the same? Maybe. I just want to know, did they
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: have the colors and all that kind of stuff?
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: I didn't put it on here, sadly, but they didn't
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: add the M until a few years after. So for
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: a few years, it was just blank. There's no M
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: on it. During World War II, M & Ms were
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: exclusively sold to the U.S. military because, of course, it
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: didn't melt in your hand, so it was good for
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: the soldiers and stuff. Today, half of the candy is
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: manufactured in Hackettstown, New Jersey, and the other half is
- 1:03:50Speaker 5: made in Cleveland, Tennessee.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Really? Cleveland, Tennessee?
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: That's right outside of Chattanooga. Sure, yeah. Yeah, just north
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: on I-75. You have to pass there to go to Lexington.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: So they make half of the M & M' s. Weird.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Why do they make half of them in Cleveland, Tennessee,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: and the other half in whatever place? Hackettstown, New Jersey. So,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: fun fact, when M & M' s first came out, they
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: only had a green, yellow, brown, red, and purple.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Purple?
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Yeah. They don't even have purple anymore. It's blue. Well,
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: and then from 51 to 55, it was green, yellow, brown, red,
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: and orange. God, the M & M knowledge this guy
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: has is just amazing. And they added peanut M &
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Ms in the 50s as well, I believe. Oh, they
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: didn't add that until the 50s?
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: I like the M & M. Do you like, have
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: you had the ones that have the caramel in the inside?
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I don't like caramel. I don't need all that. Oh,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: those are so good. If I'm getting M & Ms,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: it's going to be the peanut. It is? Yeah. Oh,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: they're plain for me. Okay. Well, you know, we're coming
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: up with Halloween soon. I'm a plain fan, yeah. They
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: have those little small packages my wife always gets out.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Fun size. I still think we need blue and white
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: ones for Malachi and who's the other M? Milan. Momchilovich? Yeah.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: I like that. And we should have got Mark Mitchell,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: but oh well. Moving on.
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: September 10th, 2022.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: You just brought up just a killer for me right there.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: Number 20, UK football defeats number 12, Florida 26-16 in Gainesville.
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: This is UK's first time defeating Florida in back-to-back season
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: since 1976-1977. UK's game-winning score came on a 65-yard pick-six
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: by Keetron Smith with 325 left in the third quarter.
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: And Dan Keel of the Wildcats on offense with 83
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: receiving yards from three receptions, including a 55-yard touchdown catch
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: in the second quarter.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: He got cut, didn't he? I think he made the
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: practice squad, but yes. Okay, yeah. Okay. I'm sorry to
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: hear that. He's on the Practice squad. That's something. It's
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: probably nothing. Yeah, true. Who was that? Dane Key. Dane Key.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: September 11th, 1971.
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: UK football defeats Clemson 13-10 in Clemson.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: 1971? I never knew UK went to Clemson. Wow. You
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: learn something new every day, Mr. Bennett. You hang around
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: with Corey Price, you become something. I agree.
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: UK's first game played against Clemson since 1952. UK's game-winning
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: score came out of a 27-yard field goal by Tom
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: Kirk in the fourth quarter. And UK's play selection for
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: this game, they ran 66 plays, 63 runs, three passes.
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: They completed one of those passes for three yards.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. That was boring. They had three passing
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: yards and one.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Was that Mark Stoops, the coach? Oh. That's funny. So funny.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: September 11th, 1974, the Western drama series Little House on
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: the Prairie airs its first episode on TV. Did you
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: ever watch Little House on the Prairie?
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: I did. Yeah, it wasn't my favorite. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: it was there. Michael Landry was good, though. Michael Landon?
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: Or Landon, yeah. I was close. Sure.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: Loosely based on the book series Little House on the
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder, starred Melissa Sue Anderson, Richard Bull,
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: Dean Butler, Victor French, Melissa Gilbert, Karen Grassley, Michael Anna,
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: of course, and Catherine McGregor.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: You know, Melissa Gilbert lived here in Louisville for a
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: time period. Did I know that? She was trying to
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: get back her acting career, and she acted down at
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Actors Theatre. Wow.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: And I learned something new today. Yeah, there you go.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: You don't even know who she is, do you? Maybe
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: I saw her picture, maybe.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: The show aired a total of 200 episodes over nine
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: seasons on NBC. And Melissa Gibbert won two Young Arts
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: Awards for Best Young Actress in the Drama Series.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Nine seasons too long.
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: September 12, 1994, the Family Drama Series, Party of Five.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: There's this first episode on TV. Did you ever watch
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: Party of Five?
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: I've never heard of it. Oh, it was a good show. Okay. Scoots, anything? No.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: Created by Christopher Kieser and Amy Lippman. starred Nev Campbell,
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: Lacey Chabert, Paul Devick, or Paula Devick, excuse me, Matthew Fox,
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: Scott Grimes, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Scott Wolfe.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I might have to go back and watch this show. Oh, boy.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: The show aired a total of 142 episodes over six
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: seasons on Fox, and the show was nominated for two
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Drama TV Series
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: in 1996.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: Last one, September 12, 2015, UK football defeats South Carolina
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: 26-22 in Columbia. This is UK's first win against South
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: Carolina in Columbia since 1999 and their first win in
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: an SEC road game since November 21, 2009 at Georgia.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: UK sealed the win on a 98-yard return on a
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: South Carolina two-point conversion with 8.09 left in the fourth quarter.
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: And Boone Williams led the Wildcats on offense with 130
- 1:09:07Speaker 5: yards from scrimmage, 107 rushing, and 23 receiving.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I love Boone Williams. And I was at that game, too.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I was as well. Yeah.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: How many games have we been to at the same time,
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: you know?
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Oh, that's a great question. I bet more than we
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: care to admit. If I could have my superpower, I'd
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: tell you.
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: I mean, I've been to every home game since 2004,
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: so I guess any home game you've been to since then,
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: we've been to the same game.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: You've been to every one since 2004? Since I was
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: a freshman, yeah. That's incredible. Wow. Yeah. 1979 for me.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Every home game? Almost. Wow. That's even more impressive. Yeah.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Almost every one of them. I've never done it. I've
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: always wanted to go to every single game. And it's
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: always been one game I've missed. And I haven't done
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: that yet. So I do want to go a year
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: where I go to every home and every way a game.
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: I think 2018 was the closest. I think I went
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: to 10 or 11 of the 13.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Holy moly. Yeah. And that was the same for me.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: I went, I think, 17, 18, 19. I was going
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: to all of them, and I would always miss just one.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: And that was fun. I mean, I just love football.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: It's the best. It absolutely is. Unless you're male playing St.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: X on Friday, right, Corey? Oh, wow, man. Shots thrown again.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: That was tough. I'm not even sure what to say
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: to this guy right now. Let's just not say anything.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Let's pretend he's not even here. Leave it alone. All right,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: so what were your thoughts on the game on Saturday?
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: What do you think of Will Stein's debut? How did
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: the offense look? How did the defense look? I mean,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: it couldn't have gone much better. Offense, I think, looked great.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Menchie had some great throws. I loved that we used
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: tight ends. Thank goodness.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: I think they had, uh, all three of them combined
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: for nine catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns, which
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: hasn't been done by a group of tight ends.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: For UK since 1999. So yeah. Shocking. That was a
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: joy to watch. Uh, that was enjoyable.
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: Running game looked good. Uh, I wouldn't say it was outstanding,
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: but it was, it was good enough. Uh, the O-line
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: was great. I think I can only think of one
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: time where Mitchie left the pocket to try and get
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: far out. He ended up, uh, throwing it away. So,
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: I mean, that's pretty good. Um, Defense, it was okay.
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: They had to get off the field on third down.
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: I think they were, I think it was 8-14 on
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: third down, which is awful if you ask me. So
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: they got to get off the field on third down.
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: Their foul drive on the first half was not good.
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: I think they got 12 plays off in like a
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: minute and a half. Yeah, her offense wasn't that great yet.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: But, I mean, come on. It's the first game. I'm
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: okay with that. First coach. I mean, first player of everything.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I mean, I'm okay with that. Overall, I think it
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: was great. I don't think they showed a ton on defense. Yes.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I don't think Bateman wants to show Bama anything. So,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: I mean, I give it an A for sure. Yeah,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: definitely a solid A. So, did Tom Leach acknowledge his
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: 30 years in the booth? Yes, at halftime, they had
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: a cake for him, and his wife and daughter were there. Yeah. Okay, good.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: You got a little bit of cake then.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: I actually went downstairs to see a friend, and by
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: the time I came back up, it was all gone.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: You've got to be kidding me. Nobody saved you a
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: piece of cake.
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: To be fair, it wasn't a huge cake, and there
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: were a lot of people upstairs, so I'm not surprised
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: it's gone pretty quickly.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: All right. Prediction for this weekend, what do you think
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: is going to happen versus Alabama?
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Stuff uh.
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: express around ten-and-a-half it is uh.
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: I think bateman will be out some more creative on
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: defense it'll be uh... famous to be spurs true road
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: start for starting to see uh... hope i'm i'm sure
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: the fans will bring it run nashvili uh.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: It's only 30 minutes left in the show, Corey. I mean,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I'll see. I know what I want to happen. Yeah,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: we all want to win. Exactly. But be realistic about it.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: Do you think UK can win? I think UK can win.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Will it happen? I don't think so. I think they
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: will be competitive for sure. You do? Yeah. But I'll
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: go Bama- 31, UK, 21. Oh, my gosh. I never
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: thought a question would take so long to answer. I
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: was trying to think of it. I mean, my score.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: 31, 21.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: My score wasn't that far off. Well, it's not off
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: the spread.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: 42, 17.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you're exactly correct. That was a good one. All right, Corey.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Always fun having you on. I appreciate it.
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: It's always fun, except when Scoots dogs me out mail
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: and stuff.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: It's just not. You make it too easy, Corey. Do
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: you take that more personally when it's about mail or UK?
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: Probably UK. Really? Yeah. You just threw mail into the bus.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I mean, I love mail, but I love UK more.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: You do? Okay, good. All right, Corey, fun having you.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: We've got to take a break. 502-384-1450, 502-414-1450. You want
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line. Stay
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: right there. We've got more of Justin Cass coming around.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: came You want to be where you can see Our
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: troubles are all the same You want to be where
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: everybody knows.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Your name We got winners, we got losers, chain smokers
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: and boozers. And we got yuppies, we got bikers, we've
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: got thirsty hitchhikers.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: And the girls next door dress up like movie stars.
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: I love this bar.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Ah, bar theme. Okay, I got it now. Got it. Yes.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Well done. That always makes me feel good when I
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: figure out what it is. Podcast Random Thoughts guy says,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: I'm just messing with you, Michael. You're a great dude,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: and you are too, Scoots. I didn't even know college
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: fishing was a thing. Imagine the weights and fish story
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: in the LSU versus Alabama fish off. That is awesome.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: Weights and fish. We've got weights and fish. Is that
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: going to be the most iconic video ever in fishing?
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: I mean, it's got to be. It has to be, yeah.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: You know those guys got caught again shortly after that, right? No,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: are you kidding me? A few months later, yeah, they
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: got caught again. Why do they think they could get
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: away with it yet again when they got caught? Great question. Morons.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: And he shows a picture of dudes posting their Ws.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: College fishing commitment post. have absolutely no business going this hard,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: and it shows a kid committing to LSU and him
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: catching fish. I mean, what is he supposed to do?
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: Of course he should celebrate that. I love it. So, anyway,
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: fishing is cool. I've never, I will say this, I've
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: never done freshwater fishing. I wouldn't begin to know what
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: to do. Never. You've never freshwater fished? Never. My dad...
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: How is that possible? Fishing to him was finding a
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: golf ball in the water. Okay, that was fishing. I've
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: done saltwater fishing all my life, and I love saltwater fishing.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: To me, there's more action.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: I mean, I don't disagree with you, but you've never
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: once thrown a line into a lake or a river
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: or a creek.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: I'd like to. No, you wouldn't like to. Why? If
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: you've saltwater fished your whole life, you would hate it. Oh,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I would?
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: It's boring.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Really? Really? Okay. The fish you catch in freshwater don't
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: have near the fight that ocean fish have. Oh, you
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: might be right there. I mean, you can catch a
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: little jack in the ocean, and that's going to be
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: the fight of your life. Yeah. And then you catch, like,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: a bass in freshwater, and it's like, oh, that's it?
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: But I've always wanted to go fly fishing. That seems
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: like one of the coolest things. What was that movie
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: with Brad Pitt, The River Runs Through It? Did you
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: ever see that?
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: No.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: It was a good movie. And it was about he
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: and his brother and his dad. They always went fly fishing.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: And I thought, okay, I want to do that. So
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: one of these days I'm going to do that. That
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: seems like too much. If somebody wants to teach me
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: how to fish, I'd go do it. Would you? If
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: somebody offered to you right now, Justin, I will teach
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: you how fishing in a pond is fun. I would
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: say yes. I mean that. Sure.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: If you want me to go fishing, I'll go fishing.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: I mean, I don't, it's not really something that I
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: seek out though.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. And I definitely don't want to fly fish.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin, one person texted, isn't a fighter. He's a D-bag.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Dude is less manly than his doppelganger, Daniel Tosh. Daniel Tosh?
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Do you know who that is? Tosh. Was it Tosh 2.0?
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: 5.0?
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: He does look like Daniel Tosh. Oh, wow. He does.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: I've never heard of him before. He looks similar. I
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: wouldn't say he looks like him, but yeah, they look similar.
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: Did you see the video the morning after the LSU
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: game and Lane Kiffin getting out of his Jeep?
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Oh, yes. Good God. Looked like he had been on
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: like an eight-hour bender. Oh, exactly. He was out. All right. Now,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: somebody recorded his halftime speech. Yeah, I haven't watched it.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Do you think that was intentional and Lane Kiffin was
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: okay with it? Or do you think it was really
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: something released unknowingly? that Kiffin did not know was going
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: to happen.
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: I don't think it would have gotten out had Lane
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: Kiffin not wanted it to.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Exactly. I think he wanted it. It was a setup.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Anything that Kiffin does, as much as I like the guy,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: and I probably like him because I loved his dad,
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: Monty Kiffin was the greatest coach ever. with the Tampa
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Bay Buccaneers. So if you don't know Monty Kiffin, go
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: look him up. And really, a true gentleman. And it's
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: amazing to me that Kiffin is his son. Because Kiffin
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: is completely different than his dad, with the exception of
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: the coaching side. But everything that Lane Kiffin does seems
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: to be calculated to me. I don't know. I'm just
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: kind of goofy.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: Let's talk about Michigan football. Western Michigan. What a joke.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: All right. So tell me why. What a joke. I mean,
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: the fact that that game was even close to begin with. Exactly. Yeah.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Between the Oregon Boise state game, which should have never
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: been close, especially for a number two team in the nation.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: But I mean, Boise state has been relatively good for
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: a while. So I can kind of see that, but
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: it should have been a lot bigger of a win
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: for Oregon. Oregon.
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: Michigan had no business to let Western Michigan be in
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: this game at any point of this game.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: No.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: And I'm sorry, Michigan, you got one. You did not
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: deserve to win that game. The clock was out. I
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: don't care how many different angles you show me. The
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: clock read zero. They should have never gotten another play.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: No, I mean, I'm right there with you and I'm
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: sitting there watching the game thinking, oh, this is going
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: to be a bad loss for Michigan. And then They
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: put that one second back up, and I'm like, wait, what?
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: But still at that point, I wasn't worried because you
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: have to throw a perfect Hail Mary pass, to which
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: they did.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: So I thought that was a little ridiculous. But the
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: most ridiculous part about it, they rushed the field.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: That's the other part. Yes. What are we doing? Yes.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: They rushed the field after beating Western Michigan. As a
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: team with championship pedigree and a great history of football. Yeah.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: I mean, that's like Kentucky rushing the floor in basketball
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: after beating like Upton State or whatever. I agree. I agree.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: And I thought that was gimmicky. And the fact that, now,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: I appreciate what the athletic director said and the coach
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: for Western Michigan. They had to say that, though. For
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: the paycheck, right? Exactly. Do you feel like Michigan forced
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: them to say that? Maybe in a backwards way? Yeah,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: in a backwards sort of way, sure, maybe. But I
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: don't know. It just kind of felt... I felt icky
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: when I heard the head coach and the athletic director
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: saying that they support the final. It's like, no, you don't. Well,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: I mean, they came into the game probably thinking they
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: were going to get murdered.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: I'm sure they did.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: The fact that you lose by one and you get
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: scurried in the process, okay, whatever. We showed a good fight.
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: We could have won that game. That would have been awesome, but...
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: Looks like we've got a good season ahead of us.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe so. But I look at that and then
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: the official statement that the Big Ten sent out and
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: it's like, okay, this is just getting grosser by the minute.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: They should have never won. They should just go ahead
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: and say, yeah, you're right. We shouldn't have won this.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: Just fully admit it. And I think the country would
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: be okay with it. I feel like an absolute moron
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: picking Indiana to lose to those bums. Yeah. And watch
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: them lose to them. And then how are you going
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: to feel? I mean, yeah. There's no way they should
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: be 1-0. There just isn't. And I think people are
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: going to remember this. Just like with Notre Dame. I'm
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: never going to forget the games that they've lost and
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: then they still get into the playoffs. It's just not deserved.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Michigan doesn't deserve to be ranked as high as they are.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: Couldn't agree more. Hopefully they fall in the rankings. When
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: do those come out? I don't know. I haven't paid
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: attention to see when they come out. One person said,
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: don't worry about Oregon. Fort Aid Hanley said this. Boise
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: State is pretty good. Baffert cut his two-year-old guns loose
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: at Del Mar. Yes, he did. And Bama got him
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: a good quarterback, boys. Boomer Sooner. Oh, my goodness. Michael
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: Landon earned a scholarship to UCLA throwing the javelin. I
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: didn't know that. Javelin. What? Javelin. Okay, Javelin. Whatever. Javelin, Javelin. Okay. Jeez.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: Did you watch the Auburn-Baylor game? I did, actually. How
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: about that? That was a great game. Good, crazy ending.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: It was a crazy ending. I mean, I just like,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: they're going to get that, and Baylor's going to win,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: and lo and behold, Auburn tackled him at the goal
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: line to win the game. Yeah, it was fun. That
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: was a fun game. That was a fun game. So,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: all right, we got to take our last break. 502-414-1450.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: I'll get back to your text as soon as we
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: get back. Stay right there. One more segment of Jessica
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: is coming right up. I love this bar. I love
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: this bar. It's my kind.
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: Of place.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: Just walking through the front door. Puts a big smile
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: on my face. It ain't too far. Yeah.
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Two step with me. Two step with me.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: One.
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: Here comes the two to the three to the four.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: Everybody drunk out on the dance floor. Baby girl ass
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: jiggle like she want more. Like she a groupie and
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I ain't even no tour. Maybe cause she heard that
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: I rhyme hardcore. Or maybe cause she heard that I
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: buy out the stores. Bottom of the ninth in the
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: city got the score. If not I gotta move on
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: to the next floor. Here comes the Boy, Mike Norville,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: if he wasn't on the hot seat before last night,
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: he's on it even more. That Florida State game was
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: terrible for them last night. Not only that, but having
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: it to where it's the only game all day, right?
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: And then to have the power go out in only
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: one location, and it was their stadium for an hour.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: What was it? An hour and 20 minutes, they said?
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: Hour 45. Was it an hour 45?
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: Game was supposed to start at 730. It didn't start
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: till 915.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: All right. So would you like going to a football
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: game where they had no scoreboard, no PA system, no music, nothing?
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: Do you like the potential of that happening?
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: There's only a few places that I would want to
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: go to a game with that being the case.
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: Okay, let's hear. And I think Florida State would be
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: one of them. Would it really? Yeah, I mean, the whole, like. Why?
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: Their whole, like, oh. Oh, okay.
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: When the whole crowd's doing it, I think that's one
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: of the most badass things in all of college football.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: The tomahawk chop. Yeah, I love that.
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: And the fact that they just kept doing it because
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: obviously there was no football being played. Obviously they weren't
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: listening to music or anything, so they just kept doing
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: it over and over.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: It could have been fun. But evidently the scoreboard came
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: up and there came a public announcement from Mike Norville
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: and they said that the crowd booed him. And it overpowered.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: And can you imagine, do you remember Alabama was looking
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: at hiring him to replace Nick Saban? How bad would
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: that have turned out for them? And the thing is,
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: SMU tried to keep them in the game. They had
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: four turnovers. SMU did. It's like, what are you doing?
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Are you trying to just let them win the game?
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: I thought that was crazy. But my goodness, what a
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: horrible start for Mike Norville. I don't know. I'm not
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: even sure he will last the entire season. I'm sure
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: he will. Oh, you think so? Yeah, he won't last
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: beyond it. Yeah. No doubt. No, absolutely not. I think
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: he's already written his departure speech once he gets the notice.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: But it's just a matter of time. I don't see
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: him surviving. By the way, this weekend, if you haven't
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: seen it or not, UK will have a stripe out
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: versus Alabama. So fans are asked to wear blue or
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: white according to whatever section you're in. So if you're
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: in an even section, you're asked to wear blue. And
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: if you're in an odd section, you're asked to wear white.
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Half of me thought, let's give them the wrong information.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: Is that mean to me to do that? Just a mess.
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: I don't know. Anyway, that's just so mean. All right,
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: let's go to the phone line. Who's up there? We
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: got John. All right, John, what's going on?
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: Hey, Michael. Man, good to hear you as always, my friend.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: I appreciate that.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: Hey, you know, after the Kentucky game, I texted Finn
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: this morning on Justin's show, Sunrise of Scoots, and I
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: was talking about You know, not going to jump to
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: conclusions or anything. I'm not doing none of that. And,
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: you know, I'm still going to pick Kentucky regardless and
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: to win a game.
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: I never pick against them. But I think we feel
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: more confident going up against Alabama now after what we
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: did see. That's how I feel right now. I mean,
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: that's what I'm thinking.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Well, see, I don't disagree with you, John, because of
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: the fact that there is a completely different feel within
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: this program. I think the fans feel it, and I
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: think definitely the players and the coaches have that confidence
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: of coming in here. Will Stein has set a tone
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: when he came here. We're not here to just win games.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: We're here to win championships. and that's part of it.
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: You have to have a winning mentality, and that's overflowing
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: with the coaching staff and now with the players and
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: now with the fan base. It's kind of feeling that.
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: So I'm not going to say they're going to win.
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: You know what I said before earlier in the show.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: I'm not going to say they're going to win this weekend,
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: but if they keep this game close, it's like, okay,
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: there has definitely been 180-degree change in this program.
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: For sure. And on the day off, everyone's relaxing yesterday.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: The Kentucky staff wasn't relaxing. And Will Stein, War Room,
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: happy birthday to the recruit. They were mentioning all that.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: And a beautiful thing to see that shows the hard
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: work determination. You know, I got one other thing. When
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: you look at quarterbacks, Kenny Menchie obviously had tons of
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: experience As far as not game experience, we know he
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: was limited in games, but we do know that he
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: was in some high-caliber quarterback rooms at Notre Dame. We
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: can see what he got to learn from that type
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: of organization, being there with that program. When you look
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: at that, that young man probably could have left Notre
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: Dame and been a starter out of Kentucky. maybe out
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: of South Carolina, somewhere else in the SEC if he
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: wanted to. But he kept waiting. He kept trying to
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: buy his time. He kept learning. And I think that's
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: going to show now in the SEC. I know it's
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: just one game, but I think we're going to see it.
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: But when you look, sometimes you go horse racing, and
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: you know about this, Michael, horse racing. A lot of
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: people don't know a lot about horse racing. I'm one
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: of them. I know if there's some blinkers on or,
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: you know, something with the shin guards or something, maybe
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: it could affect the horse. Maybe they do not feel
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: good with them if they've never raced with them on.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: I know little things like that. But a lot of
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: times we all go and we do what? We look
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: at the name of the horse, right?
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: So when you look at quarterbacks, sometimes they have this
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: statue to them. They're six foot something. They weigh so much.
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: You may have seen them throw a ball or two,
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: but you look at their name too. Joe Montana, Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: Kenny Minchie. They just have certain names that sound like
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: quarterback names. There's really not no James James or James Stevens.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: I mean, it just doesn't sound good. But when you
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: go Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, they have unique names. Kenny
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: Minchie has a unique name. He has a unique game,
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: and he showed us a little bit against Youngstown. Let's
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: see if he can do the same thing against Alabama.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: I love it, baby.
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: C-A-T-S. I appreciate it, John. Great to hear from you. Well,
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: you know, Justin, to expand on that a little more,
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: because I don't necessarily disagree with him.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: Did he just compare Joe Montana and Patrick Mahomes to
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: Kenny Minchin?
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: Is that what I heard? I knew you were going
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: to bring that up. I was trying to sugarcoat over that.
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: But yeah, John did that. I know. I love John. Okay.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: And the fact that he did that just tells me
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: everything I need to know about John. He's the most
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: positive outlook guy that I've been around a long time.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: But yeah, he did. Great call. But there are quarterbacks
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: that have a look, too. A physical look. And, man,
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: he just carries himself. There's an aura around him. And
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: I like it. I'm excited about it. So... What do
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: you think about the people? I know I saw you
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: tweeted out over the weekend or yesterday about this whole
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: coffee company, what, Seven Brew Coffee? What was up with that?
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: So people, if you haven't seen it yet, there's a
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: coffee company. We've got them here in Louisville, don't we? Yeah.
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: I don't know if we. Yeah, I'm sure. No, I
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: think we do. Yeah. And if you bought two medium
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: or two large drinks yesterday, you got some kind of
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: little fidget, squishy fidget toy called the seven brew dough.
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: And I'm like, Really? We're going to wait in line
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: for hours. Literally. I'm not exaggerating a bit. Oh, yeah.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: For hours. Yeah. For some dumb little thing. I mean,
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: there's one off real close to my house off Charlestown Road. Oh,
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: there is. Charlestown Road both ways was, I mean, backed
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: up for miles. Are you serious?
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: Wow. Why do you want to go waste your holiday
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: to get that? Because they're not doing anything anyways. Okay.
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: All right, then. It wasn't for me. I'll tell you that. Yeah. Anyway.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: One person texted in, Montana Holmes Menchie? Okay, time for
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: John to stop day drinking. I loved it. God, that
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: might be the best call John's ever had. I just
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: want you to know. Hey, fun show, guys. I appreciate it.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: Appreciate you listening. We'll see you tomorrow on Just the Cats.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: We'll see you next time.
