- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Richard Sherman podcast. Make sure you
- 0:03Speaker 1: hit that like and subscribe button. If you're new, it's
- 0:06Speaker 1: time for the week. Last week, I went about 50%
- 0:16Speaker 1: Mitchell this week. I'm feeling better. It's some teams kind
- 0:19Speaker 1: of let me down. The Browns. I thought they were
- 0:21Speaker 1: going to do better than that. I had the Rams
- 0:24Speaker 1: Buffalo to tie. Hey, Josh Allen used his legs this time.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Novel idea. Um, But hopefully I do better this week.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I think you got it this week, Richard. We talked
- 0:34Speaker 2: about it last week. It's been an unpredictable season. So
- 0:37Speaker 2: to go 50%, it's not all that bad. Let's get
- 0:40Speaker 2: this week six preview started with our power rankings, Richard.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I'll get us started and you can kind of tell
- 0:47Speaker 2: me what I did right and what I did wrong.
- 0:50Speaker 2: At number one in my power ranks, the faithful, the
- 0:53Speaker 2: 49ers out of San Francisco. I don't think there's much
- 0:56Speaker 2: debate here. No team has looked better in the NFL
- 0:59Speaker 2: than the San Francisco 49ers. They've beaten top-tier competition on
- 1:04Speaker 2: the road, including in Seattle last week. Give me the
- 1:07Speaker 2: Niners at one. Second on my list coming off the
- 1:11Speaker 2: bye is the Kansas City Chiefs. I'm going to talk
- 1:14Speaker 2: about it until I'm blue in the faith. Kenneth Walker III,
- 1:17Speaker 2: K-9 out of Michigan State University, leading the charge, giving
- 1:21Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes a weapon he's never had before in his career.
- 1:25Speaker 2: The Chiefs are a threat. Give me them at number two. Then,
- 1:30Speaker 2: re-emerging in my top five, the Buffalo Bills taking down
- 1:33Speaker 2: the LA Rams in overtime on Monday Night Football. And
- 1:37Speaker 2: it's almost like Josh Allen was listening to you, Richard.
- 1:40Speaker 2: You told him to run the football that he did,
- 1:42Speaker 2: 121 yards. When he's rolling like that, the Buffalo Bills
- 1:47Speaker 2: are very tough to beat. At four, Duval, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Who would have thunk it, Richard? We've talked nothing but
- 1:56Speaker 2: nonsense about this team for the last four years, and
- 1:59Speaker 2: here they are. The emergence of Parker Washington looking like
- 2:02Speaker 2: a legit number one threat for them. And then Trevor Lawrence.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And then now all of a sudden, look at their defense.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Second in the league in points allowed behind only the
- 2:12Speaker 2: Minnesota Vikings. The Jags coming in at four. Speaking of
- 2:16Speaker 2: those Vikings making their first appearance in the year, deservedly so, 5-0.
- 2:22Speaker 2: There are question marks with that offense. But when you've
- 2:24Speaker 2: got a defense like that led by Brian Flores, I
- 2:28Speaker 2: think they've earned their due here. Give me the Vikings
- 2:31Speaker 2: at five. Richard, what did I miss?
- 2:36Speaker 1: You didn't miss anything this week, Mitchell. Usually you got
- 2:38Speaker 1: a few off. Right now we're identical twins, and the
- 2:42Speaker 1: San Francisco 49ers continue to thrive even though they're decimated.
- 2:46Speaker 1: For them to get five sacks when Nicholas John Bosa
- 2:48Speaker 1: is still sidelined, for them to be able to produce
- 2:51Speaker 1: against this vaunted Seattle Seahawks defense with three of their
- 2:55Speaker 1: receivers on IR and now a fourth potentially with Debo
- 2:59Speaker 1: Samuel sustaining a hamstring injury. This team is going to
- 3:04Speaker 1: be very difficult to beat whenever, if they ever, get healthy.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Renardo Green starting to blossom, starting to come together. You
- 3:10Speaker 1: talk about a game last year in Seattle that had
- 3:12Speaker 1: Kyle Shanahan incredibly frustrated in the fan base, incredibly frustrated
- 3:16Speaker 1: with Renardo Green. And for him to come back to Seattle,
- 3:19Speaker 1: two interceptions, be a key part of the win this
- 3:23Speaker 1: week was huge for him, huge for that secondary. And
- 3:25Speaker 1: it speaks to Raheem Morris and the impact that he's
- 3:28Speaker 1: had on not only him, but these safeties. Jair Brown,
- 3:32Speaker 1: Malik Mustafa. Siegel, all those guys have played much better
- 3:36Speaker 1: football this year. They're on the screws. They're playing fast.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They're playing without hesitation. And they're making impact each and
- 3:43Speaker 1: every game, even if it's not in the stat sheet, Mitchell.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Sometimes physicality, minutes, the physical presence. Mustafa made a number
- 3:50Speaker 1: of hits out there. And before JSN had that drop,
- 3:54Speaker 1: two plays before, Malik Mustafa put his helmet and his
- 3:57Speaker 1: body on him. in a big way and some are
- 3:59Speaker 1: speculating that that may have had something to do with
- 4:01Speaker 1: it the Kansas City Chiefs 4-0 like you said K-9
- 4:05Speaker 1: is a guy he's a guy in the National Football
- 4:07Speaker 1: League and if if Patrick Mahomes has an off day
- 4:09Speaker 1: then look for K-9 to have over 150 yards on
- 4:12Speaker 1: the ground that's the kind of back he is that's
- 4:14Speaker 1: the kind of impact he can have Buffalo Bills Josh
- 4:17Speaker 1: Allen when he plays like this and uses his legs
- 4:19Speaker 1: like that they're a very difficult team to stop and
- 4:22Speaker 1: I don't I don't know Outside of their defense having issues,
- 4:27Speaker 1: which they continue to do, they gave up, what, 34
- 4:30Speaker 1: in this game and likely could have lost this game
- 4:33Speaker 1: had the Rams special teams been a little better and
- 4:36Speaker 1: been able to execute. But give Greg Rousseau and that
- 4:39Speaker 1: defense credit. They made a play when they had to
- 4:41Speaker 1: have it, and that's the reason they were able to
- 4:42Speaker 1: win that game. But after that play, you could see
- 4:45Speaker 1: Josh Allen said, hey, enough is enough. I am doing
- 4:48Speaker 1: what it takes. I'm not putting this ball in anybody
- 4:50Speaker 1: else's hands. to potentially lose me this game. I will
- 4:54Speaker 1: take it from here. And that's what he did. He
- 4:56Speaker 1: went up the sideline. He booted out to the left.
- 5:00Speaker 1: He took off. He made the plays that his team
- 5:03Speaker 1: needed him to make. Put him in field goal range.
- 5:06Speaker 1: They kicked the field goal to win the game. You
- 5:08Speaker 1: talk about dying and living and dying and living again. Mitchell,
- 5:11Speaker 1: this team showed that, hey, they can overcome the storm.
- 5:15Speaker 1: They can overcome adversity against a team that everybody had
- 5:19Speaker 1: as a preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl. And
- 5:22Speaker 1: too many mistakes by the Rams, too many mistakes, too
- 5:25Speaker 1: many penalties. We thought that Aaron Donald got his first
- 5:28Speaker 1: sack in over 1,000 days or so, and it was
- 5:31Speaker 1: called back because of a penalty. That started to damn
- 5:34Speaker 1: this team. Matthew Stafford and Puka Nakua and Devontae Adams
- 5:39Speaker 1: have to find a way to do more. I know
- 5:40Speaker 1: you scored 34 points. People were like, how much more
- 5:42Speaker 1: can they do?
- 5:43Speaker 2: More.
- 5:44Speaker 1: And this vaunted Rams defense, this defense that they said
- 5:47Speaker 1: on paper could be the best defense to ever be assembled.
- 5:50Speaker 1: 34 points. It's unacceptable. They have too many pieces. They
- 5:53Speaker 1: invested too much in this defense to have these issues
- 5:57Speaker 1: this deep into the season, but hopefully they can get
- 5:59Speaker 1: those things fixed. Jacksonville Jaguars are playing incredible football again.
- 6:03Speaker 1: We talked about their receiving core coming into the season.
- 6:06Speaker 1: They retained Jacoby Meyer. Brian Thomas, again, is coming into
- 6:10Speaker 1: his own. I thought he could have dragged that foot
- 6:12Speaker 1: in that game. I thought he could have had himself
- 6:13Speaker 1: a touchdown and made that an easier win for this team,
- 6:16Speaker 1: but You know, you live and you learn. Parker Washington
- 6:19Speaker 1: is doing things both in special teams and on the
- 6:22Speaker 1: offensive side of the football. He's a surefire number one
- 6:27Speaker 1: on that team. No question about that. It's time. I
- 6:29Speaker 1: have seen enough, Minnesota. I have seen enough. And I
- 6:32Speaker 1: know I am as hard on you guys as anyone
- 6:35Speaker 1: because of the Sam Darnold debacle. I told you guys.
- 6:38Speaker 1: You guys came at me. Don't, you know, we won't
- 6:40Speaker 1: revisit that. Kyler Murray made some really impressive passes. The
- 6:45Speaker 1: most impressive, in my opinion, was the corner to end
- 6:47Speaker 1: zone pass to Justin Jefferson. Three guys around him had
- 6:51Speaker 1: to be. You had one spot to put it. He
- 6:53Speaker 1: put it there. Justin Jefferson, the hometown Louisiana kid, makes
- 6:57Speaker 1: the play in New Orleans. They go into a tough
- 7:00Speaker 1: environment and come out with a win. Aaron Jones, 25 carries,
- 7:03Speaker 1: 113 yards and touchdown. The way he ran the safety
- 7:06Speaker 1: over on his way to the end zone, just menacing.
- 7:09Speaker 1: This defense continues to swarm. create turnovers, really make an
- 7:13Speaker 1: impact on each and every game. Minnesota had two turnovers
- 7:17Speaker 1: in this game, and not that they were perfect. I mean,
- 7:21Speaker 1: they forced three turnovers, but their offense had two turnovers
- 7:25Speaker 1: in this game. But Byron Murphy, two interceptions in the game.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Andrew Van Gink, the guys that you expect to have
- 7:33Speaker 1: production from continue to be productive. It's been incredible to
- 7:38Speaker 1: watch this defense. and the special teams. The special teams
- 7:41Speaker 1: has also, whether it's in the return game or they
- 7:44Speaker 1: forced the fumble that led to that Justin Jefferson touchdown
- 7:48Speaker 1: that we talked about. And I know we can talk about,
- 7:53Speaker 1: do you really trust this offense? Do you really trust
- 7:56Speaker 1: this offense against great teams? It's kind of that New
- 7:58Speaker 1: England Patriots last year team where you're like, who are
- 8:01Speaker 1: they really playing? But they're 5-0, and they're finding a
- 8:05Speaker 1: way to win each and every week. This defense is real.
- 8:08Speaker 1: It's legit. Kyler Murray looked explosive. He was getting out
- 8:12Speaker 1: of trouble. He's making plays with his legs, with his arm.
- 8:14Speaker 1: He was improvising. I'm sure that Kevin O'Connell is feeling
- 8:19Speaker 1: incredible about both sides of the ball. He has a great,
- 8:22Speaker 1: great coordinator and Brian Flores on the other side who
- 8:25Speaker 1: keeps dialing it up. This defense is in rhythm. And
- 8:29Speaker 1: sometimes when Brian Flores gets hot in his mad scientist
- 8:32Speaker 1: mode and he gets to executing in the way he
- 8:35Speaker 1: has this season, you look out. I mean, that's what
- 8:38Speaker 1: happened when they had that 14-win season with Sam Darnold.
- 8:42Speaker 1: That defense was incredible. And all you got to do
- 8:44Speaker 1: on the offensive side is be productive. Don't turn the
- 8:47Speaker 1: ball over. Keep them in these games. Don't let, you know,
- 8:50Speaker 1: throw too many interceptions and throw the game away. But
- 8:54Speaker 1: I thought this was a great game. The Vikings continue
- 8:56Speaker 1: to find a way to win. Yes, they're entering my
- 8:58Speaker 1: power rankings. I promise you, Minnesota fans, if they won
- 9:01Speaker 1: this week, they'd be in there forever. I need to
- 9:03Speaker 1: tell you about this new prediction market called Polymarket. It's
- 9:07Speaker 1: the best new way to trade in sports.
- 9:11Speaker 2: In the past, if you wanted action on the game,
- 9:14Speaker 2: you put some money in. And if your team was
- 9:16Speaker 2: doing well and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock
- 9:19Speaker 2: the trade or take a huge fee.
- 9:22Speaker 1: But Polymarket is a prediction market. It's a stock exchange
- 9:26Speaker 1: for sports, buying in and selling out on your terms.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Richard, I've tried them all, and Polymarket is simply the
- 9:34Speaker 2: best prediction market. It's better than DraftKings. It's better than FanDuel, Calshi,
- 9:39Speaker 2: you name it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And they're so confident that you will never go back
- 9:43Speaker 1: to the other guys that they're giving you a free
- 9:46Speaker 1: $ 25 on your first trade when you deposit just $ 10.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And now they've launched a new feature. It's called Squads,
- 9:54Speaker 2: a group chat where you can see what everyone is
- 9:56Speaker 2: trading on.
- 9:58Speaker 1: So download the Polymarket app today. and use the promo
- 10:01Speaker 1: code Sherman when you sign up. That's S-H-E-R-M-A-N to get
- 10:05Speaker 1: $ 25 free after you deposit just $ 10.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Well, let's talk about some of these games, and one
- 10:14Speaker 2: of the biggest omission from this list is the Seattle Seahawks.
- 10:18Speaker 2: This team has lost two out of three games, and
- 10:20Speaker 2: there's cause for concern, and I think that's the reason
- 10:22Speaker 2: they dropped out of both of our top fives. They
- 10:25Speaker 2: get an opportunity to possibly reemerge in this list, taking
- 10:29Speaker 2: on the Denver Broncos on Thursday night football, only on prime. Richard,
- 10:34Speaker 2: you're going to be at the game in Denver at
- 10:37Speaker 2: Mile High Stadium. Do you think the Seahawks bounce back
- 10:41Speaker 2: after a tough loss last weekend to the San Francisco 49ers?
- 10:45Speaker 1: Mitchell, we shall see. I think this Denver offense has
- 10:48Speaker 1: been struggling. Sean Payton took over the play calling duties
- 10:52Speaker 1: from Davis Webb because of how much they've been struggling.
- 10:55Speaker 1: And I don't know how much that helped. I don't
- 10:57Speaker 1: know how much of it is on the play calling.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I think some of it has to be attributed to
- 11:02Speaker 1: Bo Nix and his struggles, his regression this season. And
- 11:06Speaker 1: I don't think Seattle's defense is going to do him
- 11:08Speaker 1: any favors. Now, the one concerning part about this defense
- 11:13Speaker 1: is their offense. That's the most concerning thing about this defense.
- 11:17Speaker 1: They're number one, tied for number one in the league
- 11:21Speaker 1: for points off of turnovers. They've given up 105 points
- 11:24Speaker 1: this season. 45 of them are off of turnovers. And
- 11:28Speaker 1: so if you're thinking about this, this defense rarely allows
- 11:31Speaker 1: an offense to catch a kickoff. at the 30 and
- 11:34Speaker 1: start at their own 30 and then drive the ball
- 11:36Speaker 1: down the field into their own territory. They rarely allow that.
- 11:39Speaker 1: They're one of the best teams in the league. But
- 11:42Speaker 1: what happens is their team, their offense, either turns the
- 11:45Speaker 1: ball over in the red zone or turns it over
- 11:47Speaker 1: in the end zone. You talk about Sam Darnold's pick
- 11:50Speaker 1: six against the Commanders. Last week, George Helani fumbles with
- 11:54Speaker 1: four or five seconds to go on the clock before
- 11:56Speaker 1: half in the end zone. Gives up a touchdown without
- 11:59Speaker 1: this defense even getting a chance to defend a blade
- 12:04Speaker 1: of grass, and I think that's been the frustration for,
- 12:07Speaker 1: I'm sure, Mike McDonald, because it's much harder to defend
- 12:11Speaker 1: a short field each and every time, sudden change, I'm
- 12:14Speaker 1: sure he's telling them they have to be better in
- 12:17Speaker 1: sudden change situations, but it's very difficult to be putting
- 12:20Speaker 1: those situations time and time again, that's something they're going
- 12:23Speaker 1: to have to change, that's something they're going to have
- 12:25Speaker 1: to improve, because this still is a great defense, this
- 12:27Speaker 1: still is a, a defense that I think is one
- 12:30Speaker 1: of the best in the National Football League, one of
- 12:31Speaker 1: the most talented in the National Football League, but it's
- 12:33Speaker 1: hard for any defense to keep being put in that
- 12:35Speaker 1: situation and stand up.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Well, we've seen the Seattle Seahawks look almost beatable. I mean,
- 12:42Speaker 2: they lost two or three. What really has changed, though, Richard?
- 12:45Speaker 2: I mean, what do you specifically pinpoint the struggles the
- 12:49Speaker 2: Seahawks have faced over these last three weeks being?
- 12:54Speaker 1: Well, it's bad luck. I mean, it's turnover luck. It's
- 12:58Speaker 1: not executing down the stretch. That play with Cooper Cup, like,
- 13:01Speaker 1: you know, out of bounds. I mean, it's a game
- 13:03Speaker 1: of inches. And it's not like the Seattle Seahawks are
- 13:05Speaker 1: losing these games by a lot. They lost by two
- 13:08Speaker 1: to the Commanders, and they had a chance to win
- 13:10Speaker 1: that game. They lost by three here, and they were
- 13:12Speaker 1: driving down the field. If they get that first down,
- 13:14Speaker 1: I think they're in field goal range. I think they
- 13:16Speaker 1: at least get three and tie the game up. Who
- 13:18Speaker 1: knows what happens in overtime? But that's what's been happening.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I think this defense has been doing its part. they
- 13:25Speaker 1: gave the offense a number of opportunities in the red
- 13:28Speaker 1: zone back to back in the fourth quarter. They, they,
- 13:31Speaker 1: they took the ball when, uh, Nehemiah Pritchett intercepted Brock
- 13:34Speaker 1: Purdy on, on the 49er side of the field. They
- 13:37Speaker 1: had a chance right there to go in and score.
- 13:40Speaker 1: They only got three. Then you look up and Debo
- 13:42Speaker 1: Samuel pulls his hamstring and fumbles to football. They gave
- 13:45Speaker 1: back to back possessions in the fourth quarter, gave their
- 13:47Speaker 1: offense a chance to score points and take the lead
- 13:50Speaker 1: for good, uh, and take a sizable lead, uh, And
- 13:54Speaker 1: they didn't do it. They held them to field goals
- 13:56Speaker 1: and allowed the San Francisco 49ers to stay within striking
- 13:59Speaker 1: distance in this game. That's the issue. And we can
- 14:03Speaker 1: talk about the run game. When does Charbonnet come back?
- 14:06Speaker 1: What impact is he going to make? But if you
- 14:07Speaker 1: look at last season, they started last season 3-2, just
- 14:11Speaker 1: like they did this season. They lost to the Niners
- 14:14Speaker 1: last season, early in the season, within their first five games.
- 14:16Speaker 1: They lost to them this year. They were 19th in
- 14:20Speaker 1: rushing yards a game. They're 17th right now. JSN was
- 14:24Speaker 1: doing big numbers. Danny's doing big numbers now. And they
- 14:27Speaker 1: were still able to win the Super Bowl. But the
- 14:29Speaker 1: difference is they don't have Kenneth Walker to really take
- 14:33Speaker 1: over late in the season. Can they find somebody? Who's
- 14:36Speaker 1: going to be that guy that really steps up late
- 14:38Speaker 1: in the season to really spark this run game? Is
- 14:40Speaker 1: it going to be Charbonnet? It could be. But it's
- 14:42Speaker 1: tough to expect a guy coming off an injury to
- 14:45Speaker 1: make the biggest impact immediately.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Let's talk a little bit about these Denver Broncos, and
- 14:49Speaker 2: you already mentioned it. Bo Nix looks like he has
- 14:52Speaker 2: regressed this season. Last season, he had over 1,000 passing yards,
- 14:57Speaker 2: 1,085 passing yards, eight touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and three picks.
- 15:01Speaker 2: This year, he's got 942 passing yards, six TDs, and
- 15:05Speaker 2: three interceptions. The Denver Broncos invested heavily in weapons for him.
- 15:11Speaker 2: They brought in Jalen Waddell. Obviously, they coupled him with
- 15:15Speaker 2: Cortland Sutton. They've invested heavily at the running back room
- 15:19Speaker 2: with R.J. Harvey.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Obviously, J.K. Dobbins.
- 15:22Speaker 2: They spent a high draft pick on Jonah Coleman. They're
- 15:24Speaker 2: trying to surround Bo Nix with as many weapons as possible.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Last week, you gave a little pep talk to Josh
- 15:32Speaker 2: Allen on how he can improve his game. What kind
- 15:35Speaker 2: of talk are you giving to Bo Nix to get
- 15:38Speaker 2: him out of this funk that he is early in
- 15:40Speaker 2: the season?
- 15:41Speaker 1: Well, Bo... You got to push the ball down the field.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I think right now quarterbacks are so stressed and worried
- 15:48Speaker 1: about efficiency, worried about the criticism that comes with the position,
- 15:52Speaker 1: and trying not to throw interceptions. So if you're looking
- 15:56Speaker 1: at his top receiver, who you would expect to be
- 15:59Speaker 1: his top receiver coming into this season, it would have
- 16:01Speaker 1: been Cortland Sutton. He has 104 yards on the season, Mitchell.
- 16:05Speaker 1: And if you know anything about receivers, that's not enough.
- 16:08Speaker 1: That's not enough. He's not getting the targets that I'm
- 16:10Speaker 1: sure he would want only has 22 targets on the season.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Jalen Waddell has 31, and he has 204 yards. Again,
- 16:19Speaker 1: one touchdown for each of them. You have to give
- 16:22Speaker 1: these guys opportunities. You have to push the ball down
- 16:24Speaker 1: the field. If it's a 50-50 ball, Cortland Sutton has
- 16:27Speaker 1: shown a propensity to win those 50-50 footballs. And if
- 16:32Speaker 1: you just watch what Mike Evans was able to do
- 16:35Speaker 1: against the Seattle Seahawks, there are opportunities there. If you
- 16:38Speaker 1: could push the ball down the field. Now, will it
- 16:39Speaker 1: go that same way for Cortland Sutton? We shall see.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I'm sure they had a conversation in Seattle about how
- 16:44Speaker 1: to defend those balls, how to give their corners better
- 16:47Speaker 1: positioning and things of that nature. But you have to
- 16:50Speaker 1: find a way to push the ball down the field
- 16:52Speaker 1: and also use your legs. Use your legs. I know
- 16:55Speaker 1: that it's stressful. It's strenuous. You want to be a
- 16:59Speaker 1: pocket passer. You want to go through the progressions. But again,
- 17:02Speaker 1: one of the big reasons Sean Payton wanted to draft
- 17:04Speaker 1: this kid is his mobility. You have to use your mobility.
- 17:07Speaker 1: That's the kind of league this is nowadays. These defenses
- 17:10Speaker 1: have gotten better. There aren't going to be as many
- 17:14Speaker 1: passing lanes available to you, so you have to use
- 17:17Speaker 1: your legs. That's a big deal. Quarterbacks, use them.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Well, Polly Market favors Seattle, giving me a 59% likelihood
- 17:26Speaker 2: of winning this game. What do you think the final
- 17:28Speaker 2: score is going to be in this one, Richard?
- 17:32Speaker 1: Well, again, this is two great defenses. You know, I
- 17:35Speaker 1: think the Broncos are a really strong interior. And with
- 17:39Speaker 1: Benito on the outside, I think Zach Allen's going to
- 17:41Speaker 1: be a tough matchup for him. But I got the
- 17:44Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks winning this game. I don't think that the
- 17:47Speaker 1: Denver Broncos have enough offensively. I think Seattle's coming into
- 17:50Speaker 1: this game incredibly motivated, coming into mile high. They're frustrated.
- 17:53Speaker 1: They have been really good on the road outside of
- 17:56Speaker 1: that Washington Commanders game. I got the Seahawks winning this
- 18:00Speaker 1: game and scoring some points because they're still eighth in
- 18:03Speaker 1: the league in scoring. 27. Let's go. 24. 24 to 13.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I like it. Let's go on to San Francisco. They'll
- 18:17Speaker 2: be hosting the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Wow.
- 18:22Speaker 2: San Francisco 5-0 to start the season. Big win in
- 18:25Speaker 2: Seattle last week. The Washington Commanders, you were highly critical
- 18:30Speaker 2: about Jaden Daniels and his performance down the stretch in
- 18:33Speaker 2: last weekend's game, resulting in a tie against the Giants.
- 18:37Speaker 2: This seems like the worst possible opponent to try to
- 18:40Speaker 2: bounce back against if you're the Commanders. But Jaden Daniels
- 18:43Speaker 2: coming off the injury, do you think he bounces back
- 18:47Speaker 2: and it has a significant impact against the San Francisco
- 18:50Speaker 2: 49er defense?
- 18:57Speaker 1: No, no, I don't. I really don't. I don't think
- 18:59Speaker 1: he balances back in any meaningful way. I think he
- 19:04Speaker 1: did a great job of using his legs, and the
- 19:07Speaker 1: San Francisco 49ers have historically had issues with mobile quarterbacks,
- 19:11Speaker 1: so I expect that to be something that Raheem Morris
- 19:14Speaker 1: focuses on with Fred Warner and Jaden Duggar now because
- 19:20Speaker 1: it looks like Dre Greenlaw will be out in another game.
- 19:22Speaker 1: The NFL suspended him, which I'm not 100, like, Once
- 19:26Speaker 1: you miss so much of a game, that should count
- 19:28Speaker 1: as one game suspension. For them to suspend them for
- 19:31Speaker 1: another game, it seems to be overkill, but the league
- 19:34Speaker 1: seems to be trying to make a point. Should there
- 19:36Speaker 1: be a rule about an opposing team surrounding a player
- 19:42Speaker 1: that's on their sideline and pushing and grabbing? Sure, but
- 19:45Speaker 1: this is football. They're not going to do that. They're
- 19:47Speaker 1: not going to intervene like that. The refs are rarely
- 19:49Speaker 1: going to do that. going to call that. So obviously,
- 19:53Speaker 1: Dre is just going to have to watch his temper
- 19:55Speaker 1: and control himself because teams are going to try to
- 19:58Speaker 1: goad him in other aspects. They're going to try to
- 20:01Speaker 1: get him to react later on down the season. But yes,
- 20:06Speaker 1: I think this San Francisco 49ers– defense is developing. Their
- 20:11Speaker 1: defensive line is growing in a big way. I expect
- 20:14Speaker 1: to see more from Mikael Williams in this game. He
- 20:17Speaker 1: played a little bit in this last game and tried
- 20:19Speaker 1: to make some impact, but just not going to rust off.
- 20:22Speaker 1: But Grayson Halton is a guy that showed up in
- 20:25Speaker 1: a big way and has established himself in a big
- 20:29Speaker 1: way and almost kind of quieted some of the noise
- 20:32Speaker 1: that you hear about what the San Francisco 49ers need
- 20:35Speaker 1: in the draft and what they need to address in
- 20:37Speaker 1: free agency and in the trade because He's developing in
- 20:40Speaker 1: that meaningful of a way. Adigizua got a sack in
- 20:44Speaker 1: this game, so he's starting to show what he can do.
- 20:48Speaker 1: There's so many guys that are starting to impact this,
- 20:51Speaker 1: and then you're going to get Nicholas John Wilson back,
- 20:53Speaker 1: but not this game. I think this defense continues to thrive.
- 20:56Speaker 1: They're playing with confidence. Their confidence is only growing. Raheem
- 21:00Speaker 1: Morris has them playing great football. I expect that to continue.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Can you give me a final score on this one?
- 21:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't have a lot to say about the
- 21:09Speaker 1: commander's defense. I think Jaden Daniels can be relatively efficient
- 21:15Speaker 1: when he needs to be. He's a great athlete. He's
- 21:19Speaker 1: a great passer of the football. But I don't have
- 21:21Speaker 1: them scoring a ton of points. San Francisco 49ers defense
- 21:25Speaker 1: has been really, really great. So let's go San Francisco– 35,
- 21:38Speaker 1: the Commanders, 21.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Okay, they're giving up a little bit of points. Before
- 21:47Speaker 2: we leave this game, you talked about it earlier. Debo
- 21:49Speaker 2: Samuel goes out with the injury last week. He's going
- 21:52Speaker 2: to be out a few weeks now. I mean, the
- 21:54Speaker 2: San Francisco 49ers are definitely not foreign to having injuries.
- 21:59Speaker 2: This is something they're very used to. That being said,
- 22:03Speaker 2: Tyreek Hill remains looming as a free agent right now.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Do you think it's time for John Lynch to approach
- 22:09Speaker 2: Tyreek Hill and get a deal done to push this
- 22:12Speaker 2: offense and give them another weapon?
- 22:16Speaker 1: Again, I would, but it sounds like Tyreek Hill wants
- 22:19Speaker 1: to go back to Kansas city. And I would expect
- 22:22Speaker 1: those both parties to be interested in that, especially with
- 22:25Speaker 1: Taequann Thornton, uh, out for an undisclosed amount of time.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I I'm sure John will call his agent and reach
- 22:32Speaker 1: out and see what the price is and see if
- 22:33Speaker 1: he wants to play. But, um, I'm not sure the
- 22:39Speaker 1: San Francisco 49ers are pushing the ball down the field
- 22:42Speaker 1: enough for Tyreek Hill for it to be an attractive
- 22:44Speaker 1: destination right now. With, obviously, Mike Evans being there and
- 22:49Speaker 1: being the guy that Brock Purdy has a rapport and
- 22:51Speaker 1: a great relationship with when everybody's out. Mike Evans seems
- 22:54Speaker 1: to continue to be there and be a safety blanket
- 22:57Speaker 1: for him. Brock Purdy has 1,100 yards, 13 passing touchdowns,
- 23:00Speaker 1: and only two interceptions this season. So... Will Tyreek Hill
- 23:05Speaker 1: be able to mesh in time? If you take him
- 23:07Speaker 1: to Kansas City, he already has a relationship and a
- 23:09Speaker 1: rapport with Patrick Mahomes. They know each other. They've won
- 23:12Speaker 1: a lot of games together. They've played in big games together.
- 23:14Speaker 1: So I think that relationship and that fit makes a
- 23:17Speaker 1: little more sense.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Well, this next game preview is sponsored by Polymarket. We've
- 23:21Speaker 2: got the Dallas Cowboys at the Green Bay Packers on
- 23:25Speaker 2: Sunday Night Football. Polymarket has Green Bay at a 52%
- 23:29Speaker 2: chance to win this game, while the Cowboys are at 48%. Richard,
- 23:35Speaker 2: this is a close one. This is a borderline pick-em.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I know how the Cowboys did you last week when
- 23:40Speaker 2: you picked them to win on TNF. So this week,
- 23:44Speaker 2: do you agree with Polymarket? Are you rolling with Green Bay,
- 23:48Speaker 2: or do you think Dallas can get some retribution here?
- 23:54Speaker 1: These are two teams that have let me down. when
- 23:57Speaker 1: I picked him. So it's tough. It's tough. Market has
- 23:59Speaker 1: it right down the middle. But I got Green Bay.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I think they found some solutions to their protection issues
- 24:05Speaker 1: for Jordan Love. Christian Watson is playing as good as
- 24:08Speaker 1: any receiver in the National Football League, and they're finding him.
- 24:12Speaker 1: They're getting him to football. They're getting Tucker Craft involved.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I think they're starting to get Golden involved, and he's
- 24:23Speaker 1: starting to really shine like they thought he would. Yeah,
- 24:27Speaker 1: and their defense. Their defense played really well last week.
- 24:30Speaker 1: And Dallas, I mean, they're falling apart defensively. They did
- 24:33Speaker 1: not look great. Lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dak
- 24:38Speaker 1: looked like a deer in the headlights, not a super
- 24:40Speaker 1: veteran quarterback who's played at a very high level in
- 24:42Speaker 1: the National Football League against Todd Bowles' defense. I think
- 24:45Speaker 1: Jonathan Gannon's going to see that tape and be licking
- 24:48Speaker 1: his chops and drawing up pressures. I got the Packers
- 24:53Speaker 1: in this game, but Mitch, you think they're going to cover? I...
- 24:56Speaker 1: Three and a half?
- 24:57Speaker 2: I believe it's down to one and a half right now.
- 25:00Speaker 2: But you know what? Yeah, I do. After seeing what
- 25:02Speaker 2: they did last week against Chicago, I think the Packers
- 25:06Speaker 2: have found a recipe for success. You know, I think
- 25:10Speaker 2: there was a lot of struggle to find an identity.
- 25:14Speaker 2: This was a team that was so used to hammering
- 25:16Speaker 2: the rock with Josh Jacobs, relying on that play action
- 25:20Speaker 2: and letting Jordan Love do his thing downfield with that.
- 25:23Speaker 2: And they haven't had that run game last week. We
- 25:25Speaker 2: saw a little bit more success with the run and
- 25:28Speaker 2: that opened up the deep ball. I think they get
- 25:31Speaker 2: Christian Watson involved in this game. Give me the Packers
- 25:34Speaker 2: by a touchdown. Polly market gives the Cowboys a 39%
- 25:39Speaker 2: chance of scoring more than three and a half touchdowns.
- 25:42Speaker 2: That's kind of a lot. Do you think they can
- 25:45Speaker 2: score more than that on Sunday?
- 25:50Speaker 1: It depends. It really does. And can Dak Prescott and C.D.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Lamb recapture that magic that they had a few weeks
- 25:57Speaker 1: ago where C.D. Lamb had over 189 yards on 17
- 26:01Speaker 1: catches because they lost it versus Tampa Bay. So three
- 26:09Speaker 1: and a half touchdowns. I mean, they would score four
- 26:12Speaker 1: touchdowns in this game. His Green Bay defense isn't great,
- 26:16Speaker 1: but they held the Chicago Bears offense to seven. Yeah, no,
- 26:22Speaker 1: I'm not giving Dallas that. I'm not giving them four
- 26:24Speaker 1: touchdowns in this game. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. But that's
- 26:26Speaker 1: the best thing about Polymarket. It's an alternative to traditional
- 26:29Speaker 1: sportsbooks that keeps you in control of your trades. So
- 26:32Speaker 1: if you want to get in, you want to get
- 26:34Speaker 1: out at any time, you can. Monday night delivers the
- 26:38Speaker 1: final statement of the football week. You've spent all weekend
- 26:41Speaker 1: reacting to big plays and big decisions, and now there's
- 26:45Speaker 1: one more matchup to break down. It's the kind of
- 26:47Speaker 1: night you plan around, so dinner should elevate it, not
- 26:51Speaker 1: pull you away from it. And DiGiorno Pizza lets you
- 26:54Speaker 1: enjoy restaurant-quality taste fresh from your own oven. While you
- 26:59Speaker 1: settle in and watch how the defense disguises coverage, how
- 27:03Speaker 1: the offense adjusts, and Who makes the play when everybody
- 27:07Speaker 1: knows the pressure is coming? Stay locked in to the
- 27:10Speaker 1: moments everyone will react afterwards to. The fourth down call,
- 27:14Speaker 1: the coverage bust, the turnover that changes everything. Monday night
- 27:19Speaker 1: is too good to treat like an ordinary weeknight. So
- 27:24Speaker 1: don't just make do, make DiGiorno. It's not delivery, baby.
- 27:29Speaker 1: It's DiGiorno.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Let's take it to the next game. This team appeared
- 27:34Speaker 2: in both of our top five of our power ranks,
- 27:36Speaker 2: and that's the Jacksonville Jaguars out of Duval. They host
- 27:40Speaker 2: the Houston Texans, who just got their first win of
- 27:44Speaker 2: the season last week against the high-powered Tennessee Titans. The
- 27:49Speaker 2: Jaguars snuck off a massive win overseas, and here they
- 27:53Speaker 2: are again. They stay in London for another slate of games.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I guess let's start there. I mean, what do you
- 28:01Speaker 2: make of Jacksonville's schedule and how the NFL has orchestrated this?
- 28:07Speaker 2: They're not going to play a true home game for.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Over a year.
- 28:10Speaker 2: They're moving into the Orlando football stadium down there. I
- 28:14Speaker 2: don't even know what the heck it's called. But they
- 28:17Speaker 2: have the last two games in Europe, and then they
- 28:19Speaker 2: move to this Orlando stadium. What gives with Jacksonville always
- 28:23Speaker 2: getting the international games?
- 28:27Speaker 1: Well, I mean, it seems like they're doing their best
- 28:31Speaker 1: to give them a bigger audience outside of Duval. I
- 28:34Speaker 1: think the NFL wants them to have a bigger fan base,
- 28:37Speaker 1: and that's what they're trying to help them with. They're
- 28:40Speaker 1: putting a great product on the football field, so they're
- 28:42Speaker 1: doing all they can. They got a big win against
- 28:44Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles last week. And these division games are
- 28:48Speaker 1: always scary because I know how we talk about the
- 28:52Speaker 1: Houston defense and the struggles that they've had. They've given
- 28:55Speaker 1: up some yardage. especially through the air. They're not the
- 28:58Speaker 1: top five aggressive defense that we're so used to, but
- 29:01Speaker 1: they have 18 sacks on a season. So they're getting
- 29:04Speaker 1: after the quarterback pretty good. You still got Daniil Hunter
- 29:06Speaker 1: and Will Anderson, who are very formidable and can wreck
- 29:10Speaker 1: a game at any time. And in the secondary, those guys,
- 29:13Speaker 1: Kamari Lassiter, Kalen Bullock, Derek Stingley, those are guys that
- 29:18Speaker 1: can wake up at any time and decide to have
- 29:20Speaker 1: a day. And against this receiving core, maybe that's what
- 29:24Speaker 1: they do. But if they if this Jacksonville team and
- 29:27Speaker 1: Liam Cohen has watched that Dallas Cowboys game where Dak
- 29:31Speaker 1: Prescott and C.D. Lamb had their way when they pushed
- 29:34Speaker 1: the ball down the field, I think they're feeling really good.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I think they're feeling really good. I think Trevor Lawrence
- 29:40Speaker 1: is feeling really good. And I know that we felt
- 29:42Speaker 1: like C.J. Shroud has struggled this season, but he has
- 29:45Speaker 1: 1,400 yards, six touchdowns. That's the problem, only six touchdowns,
- 29:50Speaker 1: but no interceptions. No interceptions on the season. They just
- 29:53Speaker 1: trade for a friend of his from college in Marvin Harrison, Jr.,
- 29:59Speaker 1: Will he play this week? Will he make much of
- 30:00Speaker 1: an impact? I don't think he'll make much of an
- 30:02Speaker 1: impact in a game like this, but maybe later on
- 30:04Speaker 1: down the season, we'll see. I think this game is
- 30:09Speaker 1: going to be better than what Polymarket has, but I
- 30:11Speaker 1: don't see the Jacksonville Jaguars losing this game. I got
- 30:14Speaker 1: Jacksonville in this one.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I agree with you. Jacksonville's a hot team. They've been
- 30:18Speaker 2: there for the last week and a half, so I
- 30:21Speaker 2: think the advantage goes to Jacksonville. on top of their defense,
- 30:26Speaker 2: which has been amazing. They're winning games that they otherwise shouldn't.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I mean, last weekend's game against Philly was a game
- 30:33Speaker 2: that only really good teams win. And we saw Jacksonville
- 30:38Speaker 2: get a little lucky at the end, but good wins,
- 30:40Speaker 2: good teams get lucky. And I like the Jacksonville Jaguars
- 30:44Speaker 2: to stay hot and win this one as well. Let's
- 30:47Speaker 2: take it to Arrowhead. The Kansas City Chiefs, 4-0, coming
- 30:51Speaker 2: off the bye week, are hosting your buddy, Your good friend,
- 30:55Speaker 2: Justin Herbert, one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL
- 30:58Speaker 2: and the L.A. Chargers team. Is this the game where L.A.
- 31:04Speaker 2: finally gets a one in the winning column in Arrowhead?
- 31:14Speaker 1: That seems like that question. I'm not going to go
- 31:21Speaker 1: there with you. I see what you're trying to do,
- 31:23Speaker 1: and I'm not going to allow you to go there.
- 31:26Speaker 1: I see what you're doing.
- 31:29Speaker 2: You like it.
- 31:31Speaker 1: This game seems like a layup for the Chiefs, no
- 31:33Speaker 1: question about it, but I don't know. The NFL is
- 31:36Speaker 1: weird that way. Just like earlier in the season, we
- 31:38Speaker 1: thought Buffalo would just have their way with the Chargers,
- 31:41Speaker 1: and then the Chargers defense decided to step up in
- 31:44Speaker 1: a big way, force five turnovers, and the Chargers almost
- 31:48Speaker 1: found a way to win that game. Then, of course,
- 31:52Speaker 1: they have games where they struggle. And you're looking and
- 31:54Speaker 1: you're like, I don't understand this. I don't understand how
- 31:57Speaker 1: you struggled this mightily against everybody else. But I don't
- 32:03Speaker 1: see them winning this game. I think Kansas City's rolling.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Justin Herbert is struggling more this season than he has
- 32:09Speaker 1: in any season of his career. He's five touchdowns and
- 32:12Speaker 1: seven interceptions already on the season. Omarion Hampton. is splitting
- 32:18Speaker 1: time in a big way. He's starting to lose his
- 32:22Speaker 1: momentum and his grasp. They're doing this three running back
- 32:25Speaker 1: system that I'm not sure I agree with. But their
- 32:29Speaker 1: defense has forced eight turnovers. They got 11 sacks. And
- 32:32Speaker 1: the Kansas City Chiefs have not. They've gotten pressure on quarterbacks,
- 32:35Speaker 1: but they have not finished the game in a way
- 32:38Speaker 1: that you would have expected in a Spags coach defense.
- 32:42Speaker 1: They only have three sacks on a season. They have
- 32:44Speaker 1: seven turnovers, but... I don't really understand what Mike McDaniel
- 32:51Speaker 1: is doing with this three-running back system, and I know
- 32:54Speaker 1: he joked about it in training camp that fantasy owners
- 32:58Speaker 1: aren't going to be very happy with what he's doing,
- 33:00Speaker 1: and of course they're not, but the results aren't very
- 33:02Speaker 1: happy with what you're doing, and no running back can
- 33:05Speaker 1: really get a rhythm when they're not in there. It's
- 33:07Speaker 1: one of those positions where you have to kind of
- 33:10Speaker 1: wear teams down and find your legs and find your rhythm,
- 33:14Speaker 1: and I don't think he's given an opportunity for anybody
- 33:16Speaker 1: to find their rhythm And I think this Kansas City
- 33:19Speaker 1: offense is rolling, is rolling. They gave up, the Chargers
- 33:22Speaker 1: gave up 23 points to a Denver offense that's struggling mightily.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I think this offense can score 35 on them pretty easily.
- 33:31Speaker 1: And that's what I'm expecting to happen. I'm not expecting
- 33:33Speaker 1: this offense to find its footing. And I got the
- 33:39Speaker 1: Kansas City Chiefs sending the Chargers to 0-6 with a
- 33:43Speaker 1: lot of question marks, with more question marks. Like, I
- 33:46Speaker 1: know this fan base was like, no, we don't need
- 33:48Speaker 1: to do anything, but you got to do something. After 0-1-6,
- 33:51Speaker 1: then you're staring 0-1-7 in the face, and you're saying, hey,
- 33:57Speaker 1: we're going to go into next year with everything the same.
- 34:00Speaker 1: You fire another coordinator, you get rid of another coordinator.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Does that solve your problem? I don't think it does.
- 34:05Speaker 2: And I know you haven't been a part of many
- 34:08Speaker 2: losing teams. I guess your only time really would be
- 34:11Speaker 2: at Stanford, right, that you were a part of a
- 34:13Speaker 2: team that lost– Not even, no. So I can't imagine
- 34:19Speaker 2: what it would do to the psyche and morale of
- 34:20Speaker 2: the team.
- 34:21Speaker 1: No, my first year in San Francisco, we went 4-12.
- 34:24Speaker 1: That's how we got Bosa.
- 34:25Speaker 2: So I guess with that being said, your first year
- 34:27Speaker 2: in San Francisco going 4-12, and when you guys got
- 34:30Speaker 2: Nicholas John Bosa, and we saw what that did to
- 34:32Speaker 2: the franchise. But, I mean, how tough was it to
- 34:35Speaker 2: go into that offseason with optimism after you went 4-12
- 34:39Speaker 2: the following year?
- 34:41Speaker 1: Well, I think it wasn't tough because you lost your quarterback.
- 34:45Speaker 1: And so when you lose your quarterback early in a season,
- 34:48Speaker 1: you kind of say, hey, if we had our quarterback,
- 34:51Speaker 1: we would be so much better. I think that's what
- 34:53Speaker 1: makes this so much harder for Charger fans to really digest,
- 34:57Speaker 1: to really– a tough pill to swallow because Justin Herbert
- 35:00Speaker 1: is healthy and he's out there every week. And he's playing. Now,
- 35:04Speaker 1: this offensive line isn't playing well. And the two tackles
- 35:08Speaker 1: that were playing well before haven't played well this season. So, again,
- 35:13Speaker 1: the concern level is growing on every– because the players
- 35:16Speaker 1: that have played well for you aren't playing well. And
- 35:19Speaker 1: I think that's what makes it so much harder for
- 35:21Speaker 1: them is that you kind of expect Slater and Joe
- 35:24Speaker 1: Ault to be foundational pieces that just play well. You
- 35:27Speaker 1: put them out there, you forget about them. Both have
- 35:30Speaker 1: played at a really high level at times in this league.
- 35:32Speaker 1: And so has Justin Herbert. So you have these foundational pieces.
- 35:36Speaker 1: You say, hey, let's build around them. And then you
- 35:38Speaker 1: think you've got a pretty good running back in Omarion Hampton,
- 35:40Speaker 1: but now he's rotating. And then Quentin Johnson, you're like, hey,
- 35:46Speaker 1: we got a good number one receiver, but do you?
- 35:49Speaker 1: And then Ladd McConkie is your guy, but is he?
- 35:53Speaker 1: You know, right now, Trey Harris is your top receiver. So,
- 35:57Speaker 1: you know, so many things that were, you know, afterthoughts
- 36:02Speaker 1: and foregone conclusions for the Chargers are now question marks.
- 36:05Speaker 1: And I think that's what makes this season so difficult
- 36:08Speaker 1: because there aren't any real clear answers yet. Sure, the
- 36:12Speaker 1: offensive line is struggling, but what's the immediate answer? There
- 36:15Speaker 1: isn't any. Why is the defense playing as well as
- 36:17Speaker 1: they have? You know, and why are they so hot
- 36:19Speaker 1: and cold? There aren't any easy answers, and people are
- 36:23Speaker 1: starting to call for Khalil Mack, and now it's starting
- 36:25Speaker 1: to get to the point of, hey, do you start
- 36:27Speaker 1: to sell off pieces and try to, you know, recoup
- 36:30Speaker 1: some draft picks and kind of, you know, refigure out
- 36:33Speaker 1: what you're trying to do in the future?
- 36:36Speaker 2: It looks like it might be time. I'm going to
- 36:37Speaker 2: join you. I'm going KC as well. I think– My
- 36:41Speaker 2: boy K-9 gets loose here. Chargers defense is halfway decent,
- 36:45Speaker 2: but there are 21st against the run. I expect Kenneth
- 36:48Speaker 2: Walker III to have a big game in this one
- 36:50Speaker 2: in Kansas City to roll. Let's go to Philly. This
- 36:54Speaker 2: might be one of the most interesting teams right now.
- 36:57Speaker 2: The Philadelphia Eagles. They're dealing with a lot of mid-season
- 37:01Speaker 2: roster turnover. You don't see a ton of that. And
- 37:04Speaker 2: then you've got the Carolina Panthers coming into town fresh
- 37:07Speaker 2: off a bye, fresh off of taking care of my
- 37:09Speaker 2: Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football two weeks ago. Do
- 37:13Speaker 2: you think that the Eagles can turn this around with
- 37:17Speaker 2: everything they're staring in the face, with Devontae Smith being hurt,
- 37:21Speaker 2: with Cam Juergens being traded, with Lane Johnson retiring, with
- 37:25Speaker 2: Saquon Barkley's injury kind of leaving them up in the
- 37:29Speaker 2: air at running back? Do you think that Eagles can
- 37:33Speaker 2: realistically turn this thing around and get a win this weekend?
- 37:37Speaker 1: No, I don't. I don't, and I know Eagles fans
- 37:40Speaker 1: are going to be frustrated to hear me say that,
- 37:42Speaker 1: but I know there's a ton of concern for them.
- 37:44Speaker 1: This Carolina Panthers team has been playing really solid football.
- 37:47Speaker 1: They haven't won every game, but they've scored a lot
- 37:49Speaker 1: of points, and they're fourth in the league in scoring.
- 37:53Speaker 1: They're scoring 30 points a game. Now, will they score
- 37:55Speaker 1: 30 points against this Philadelphia Eagles defense? I don't think so,
- 37:59Speaker 1: but this offense hasn't done a ton to help the
- 38:01Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles, so that's another thing. where you need to
- 38:05Speaker 1: be concerned, especially in the second half is Philadelphia Eagles.
- 38:08Speaker 1: I mean, offense has struggled mightily. Can Jalen Hurd put
- 38:12Speaker 1: the team on his back? They had, they had 22
- 38:14Speaker 1: yards rushing last week in total, 18 carries for 22 yards.
- 38:19Speaker 1: That's 1.2 yards to carry. That's not good enough in
- 38:21Speaker 1: the national football league. And there are not any easy
- 38:24Speaker 1: answers when you lose Lane Johnson, that's a enormous void
- 38:28Speaker 1: on this offensive line. And then you, you trade your
- 38:32Speaker 1: starting guard, um, And you get some good picks for them,
- 38:35Speaker 1: but those picks don't help you right now. But right now,
- 38:38Speaker 1: this offense is 28th and 29th in scoring at 18.4
- 38:41Speaker 1: points a game. That's not going to be good enough,
- 38:43Speaker 1: I don't think, to beat this Carolina Panthers team. Bryce
- 38:46Speaker 1: Young playing good football, nine touchdowns, two interceptions. Tedderall McMillan
- 38:50Speaker 1: had a big game last week. Chubba Hubbard has been solid.
- 38:54Speaker 1: And I think this defense will be solid. I think
- 38:57Speaker 1: they're comparable to the Eagles offense. I think that's an
- 39:00Speaker 1: even matchup. And I know that Jalen Carter has been disruptive.
- 39:04Speaker 1: And Quinion Mitchell got a sack last week. But I
- 39:07Speaker 1: don't know if this defense has played as well as
- 39:09Speaker 1: it's played in other years. I don't know if they
- 39:13Speaker 1: have played to as high of a level as they have.
- 39:17Speaker 1: So give me Carolina in this game.
- 39:20Speaker 2: If Philly's going to rise up, it's going to fall
- 39:23Speaker 2: on the shoulders of Jalen Hurts. And I just don't
- 39:25Speaker 2: know if he's one of those quarterbacks that can really
- 39:28Speaker 2: elevate the talent. level around him. I mean, when they
- 39:31Speaker 2: won their Super Bowl, you had Saquon Barkley in his prime.
- 39:34Speaker 2: You had A.J. Brown, who wasn't feuding as much with
- 39:37Speaker 2: the O.C. at that time. You obviously had Devontae Smith,
- 39:41Speaker 2: Dallas Goddard, et cetera, et cetera, on top of having
- 39:44Speaker 2: one of the most ferocious defenses in the NFL. With
- 39:47Speaker 2: 29th in scoring at 18.4 points a game, This Philadelphia
- 39:51Speaker 2: Eagles team could have easily won the last two games,
- 39:54Speaker 2: but let their team off the hook. I'm rolling with
- 39:58Speaker 2: Carolina as well. I just think the wheels are starting
- 40:00Speaker 2: to fall off in Philly. This might be one of
- 40:03Speaker 2: those reset years for them where they're going to walk
- 40:05Speaker 2: away with a ton of draft picks, and ultimately they're
- 40:08Speaker 2: going to come out on top later on for it.
- 40:10Speaker 2: But it's a concerning start to the season for Philly,
- 40:13Speaker 2: and I don't see it getting that much better. Let's
- 40:16Speaker 2: go to L.A., this Rams team that everyone was talking
- 40:20Speaker 2: so much about coming into the season. Are they going
- 40:22Speaker 2: to go 17-0? Are they going to beat every team
- 40:24Speaker 2: by double digits? Are they ever going to get scored on? Well,
- 40:28Speaker 2: the NFL teams have spoken, and no, they're not going
- 40:31Speaker 2: to do any of those things.
- 40:33Speaker 1: L.A.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Rams are 2-3 to start the season, and they've taken
- 40:37Speaker 2: it on the chin against top-tier competition. Richard, they welcomed
- 40:42Speaker 2: the Arizona Cardinals into town, who my Detroit Lions— had
- 40:46Speaker 2: a bounce-back, get-right game against last Sunday. Do you think
- 40:51Speaker 2: the L.A. Rams get a bounce-back, get-right game against this
- 40:54Speaker 2: Arizona Cardinal team?
- 40:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I do. I think they get back, they get right,
- 41:02Speaker 1: whatever the case may be. But the frustration that Sean
- 41:08Speaker 1: McVay feels right now after that loss and the way
- 41:11Speaker 1: they lost isn't going anywhere anytime soon. That's a hard
- 41:15Speaker 1: pill to swallow. They had that game one. You just
- 41:17Speaker 1: needed a good operation to walk away with a win
- 41:20Speaker 1: against a very good team. Instead, you take an unnecessary loss,
- 41:23Speaker 1: and I think you get right, but you're not washing
- 41:27Speaker 1: the taste out of your mouth. This is still going
- 41:29Speaker 1: to be a tough division game, but the Arizona Cardinals
- 41:32Speaker 1: haven't given me any inclination that they're going to really
- 41:37Speaker 1: compete and try to win this game. You know, Jacoby
- 41:40Speaker 1: Breset has been solid. Michael Wilson has been solid. Jeremiah
- 41:43Speaker 1: Love is starting to get more carries and get more responsibilities.
- 41:48Speaker 1: But I just can't imagine, you know, Arizona winning this game.
- 41:55Speaker 1: But I say that every week, and then that team
- 41:57Speaker 1: finds a way to win. So that's the kind of
- 41:59Speaker 1: league we're in. But give me the Rams in this one.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I don't know what the Cardinals' plan is right now,
- 42:06Speaker 1: but I got the Rams winning this one.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I join you in that. Rams by double digits with
- 42:13Speaker 2: ease here. I think coming into SoFi, the Rams have
- 42:17Speaker 2: got to get back to 500. They can't flirt with
- 42:20Speaker 2: disaster here because if they start 2-4 to start the season,
- 42:23Speaker 2: there's going to be a lot of questions looming in L.A.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Let's go to Vegas, a team that got off to
- 42:29Speaker 2: a strong start. This Raider team has lost two straight
- 42:32Speaker 2: against tough competition, going down against the Chiefs and against
- 42:36Speaker 2: the New England Patriots, but they welcome now the Buffalo Bills,
- 42:39Speaker 2: and we talked about it a couple weeks ago when
- 42:41Speaker 2: they got off to a 3-0 start. Reality might smack
- 42:44Speaker 2: them in the face really quick here, and we're going
- 42:46Speaker 2: to see whether they're proven contenders or not. This team
- 42:50Speaker 2: looks feisty. I know they got beat up pretty good
- 42:53Speaker 2: by the Patriots last week, but they They almost beat
- 42:56Speaker 2: the Chiefs. Do you think they have what it takes
- 42:59Speaker 2: to get it done against this Bills team at home?
- 43:03Speaker 1: I think it's going to be closer than Polly Market
- 43:05Speaker 1: has it. Kirk Cousins is actually quietly having a really
- 43:08Speaker 1: strong season. He has 1,200 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, only
- 43:12Speaker 1: four interceptions. That's the reason they've been in these games.
- 43:16Speaker 1: That's the reason they've been having success. Obviously, they just
- 43:18Speaker 1: took a massive loss, 28-point loss to the– the Patriots,
- 43:25Speaker 1: but before that, they've been battling in every game, and
- 43:28Speaker 1: I thought they had a chance to beat the Kansas
- 43:30Speaker 1: City Chiefs in Arrowhead, and they weren't able to get
- 43:33Speaker 1: it done, but this Vegas team is better than the
- 43:36Speaker 1: numbers show, and against one of the worst defenses in
- 43:40Speaker 1: the league in the Buffalo Bills in terms of total defense.
- 43:42Speaker 1: They're giving up 404 yards a game, 295 passing yards
- 43:47Speaker 1: a game. There's some room there for Kirk Cousins and
- 43:50Speaker 1: the Vegas Raiders to cause some issues, but Josh Allen,
- 43:55Speaker 1: has 15 total touchdowns on a season, throwing for 1,200 yards.
- 43:58Speaker 1: And if he's going to use his legs as he
- 44:00Speaker 1: did against the Rams, I got them winning this game.
- 44:03Speaker 1: If he goes back to being conservative and protecting his
- 44:07Speaker 1: body or whatever he was doing the two previous games,
- 44:10Speaker 1: then that'll give the Raiders a chance. But I got
- 44:14Speaker 1: Buffalo in this one.
- 44:15Speaker 2: I couldn't agree with you more. I mean, this team
- 44:17Speaker 2: and Buffalo goes as their quarterback goes. And Josh Allen
- 44:21Speaker 2: brings a lot more to the table than just throwing
- 44:23Speaker 2: the football his ability to get out of the pocket
- 44:26Speaker 2: and make decisions on the run, whether that means tucking
- 44:28Speaker 2: it and taking a cornerback head-on-head or lofting it over
- 44:32Speaker 2: his head for completion. When Josh Allen plays without any
- 44:37Speaker 2: sort of hesitation, it relies 100% on his instincts. This
- 44:41Speaker 2: Buffalo Bills team is near impossible to beat. The question is,
- 44:47Speaker 2: will he play like that? Will he put his body
- 44:49Speaker 2: on the line? Or will he reserve it for the playoffs?
- 44:52Speaker 2: We shall see. But what we saw on Monday Night
- 44:55Speaker 2: Football against the Rams, that version of Josh Allen is
- 44:58Speaker 2: going to be very difficult to beat. Give me the
- 45:00Speaker 2: Buffalo Bills in this one as well. Let's take it
- 45:03Speaker 2: to Tampa Bay. This Tampa Bay team looked decent on
- 45:08Speaker 2: Thursday Night Football. This was a team that you picked against,
- 45:11Speaker 2: the Dallas Cowboys, in Dallas with your cowboy hat on,
- 45:13Speaker 2: looking fresh to death. But Jalen Daniels had other plans today.
- 45:19Speaker 2: and led this Tampa Bay Buccaneers team to the first
- 45:21Speaker 2: win of their season. They welcomed the Pittsburgh Steelers into town.
- 45:27Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on Jalen Daniels? He's an undrafted
- 45:31Speaker 2: pick out of Kansas. This is his rookie year. He
- 45:35Speaker 2: seems pretty mobile. He gives the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a
- 45:38Speaker 2: good athlete in the backfield. Do you like him for
- 45:43Speaker 2: the rest of the season with the Bucs? What are
- 45:45Speaker 2: your thoughts on him as a quarterback, seeing him first hand?
- 45:49Speaker 1: Well, I think he did enough to beat the Dallas Cowboys.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I think he took the yardage that was there. He
- 45:54Speaker 1: took the opportunities that was there. He made plays when
- 45:58Speaker 1: he had to, whether it was with his arm or
- 46:00Speaker 1: his legs. But I don't think that's going to be
- 46:03Speaker 1: enough against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers. An intriguing
- 46:06Speaker 1: matchup to watch in this game is going to be
- 46:08Speaker 1: Jalen Warren versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. They're second
- 46:11Speaker 1: in the league, only giving up 72 yards rushing. I
- 46:15Speaker 1: know that we've talked about their struggles, but defensively, their
- 46:18Speaker 1: fourth in total defense at 300 yards a game, 18th
- 46:21Speaker 1: against the pass. This is a young passer. I mean,
- 46:25Speaker 1: this is a young passer in Tampa Bay, but obviously
- 46:27Speaker 1: not a young passer in Pittsburgh in Aaron Rodgers. And
- 46:30Speaker 1: he's a guy that's faced Bowles a ton of times.
- 46:33Speaker 1: And it looks like Bowles is playing kind of all
- 46:37Speaker 1: or nothing defense right now. He sent a ton of
- 46:39Speaker 1: pressure at Dak Prescott. That changed the dynamic of the game.
- 46:43Speaker 1: I expect him to do the same to Aaron Rodgers.
- 46:45Speaker 1: And if they can get home and create chaos like
- 46:49Speaker 1: they did last week, it'll give them a chance in
- 46:50Speaker 1: this game. But I think Aaron's getting the ball out
- 46:53Speaker 1: as quick as anybody. He knows where he's going with
- 46:55Speaker 1: the football. Jalen Warren has been very elusive and dynamic.
- 46:58Speaker 1: I got Pittsburgh in this game.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Pittsburgh's an intriguing team to me. I want to see
- 47:04Speaker 2: more out of DK Metcalf, especially with Michael Pittman going
- 47:07Speaker 2: down for the next few weeks. Can he get more
- 47:10Speaker 2: involved with this offense? Only averaging 45 yards, receiving a game.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Jalen Warren went off last week as well. Pittsburgh's just
- 47:17Speaker 2: one of those teams. They always find a way to win,
- 47:20Speaker 2: and they never really shrink down to their competition. I
- 47:23Speaker 2: expect Jalen Daniels to get a welcome into the NFL
- 47:26Speaker 2: moment this weekend in the Pittsburgh Steelers defense led by
- 47:30Speaker 2: TJ Watt. leading them to victory. New England, welcome the
- 47:35Speaker 2: New York Jets. And this New England team we've seen
- 47:37Speaker 2: over the last two weeks looks like the team we
- 47:39Speaker 2: saw last year. That's a team that can compete at
- 47:41Speaker 2: the highest level and compete for an AFC championship. They
- 47:46Speaker 2: welcome the Jets into town, who just got a win
- 47:48Speaker 2: against Cleveland, who was pretty red hot coming into that game.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Do you expect to see more of the same from
- 47:54Speaker 2: New England this week? More of what we've seen the
- 47:56Speaker 2: last two weeks?
- 47:59Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you have to give the Jets credit.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Their defense has been playing better. They're sixth in total defense,
- 48:03Speaker 1: third against the pass, so I don't think it'll be
- 48:05Speaker 1: as easy sledding as it was against the Raiders, but
- 48:09Speaker 1: Drake may seem to have found his rhythm again. He
- 48:14Speaker 1: was 26-34 for 374 yards, and that's something that you
- 48:18Speaker 1: expect to continue. It's a division game. It's a division game,
- 48:24Speaker 1: so you always have to have that caveat when talking
- 48:26Speaker 1: about these games, but I think New England defensively is
- 48:30Speaker 1: very opportunistic, very aggressive, and they play together, and they
- 48:34Speaker 1: play championship-level football, and that's a big reason they were
- 48:37Speaker 1: able to make it to the Super Bowl last year.
- 48:38Speaker 1: They played great defense in the playoffs when their offense
- 48:41Speaker 1: was facing great defenses. When they needed to get stops,
- 48:43Speaker 1: they got them, and I think that'll continue. I think
- 48:45Speaker 1: Geno Smith has played solid football this year, has yet
- 48:48Speaker 1: to throw an interception, but it's not as aggressive as
- 48:53Speaker 1: I think he could be, And we'll see if he
- 48:55Speaker 1: gets more aggressive. But I got New England in this game.
- 48:58Speaker 1: It's hard to bet against them with them putting 45
- 49:01Speaker 1: against the Raiders like they did last week.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Polly Market agrees with you. They give New England a 75%
- 49:07Speaker 2: likelihood of winning this one. Let's take it to Atlanta.
- 49:11Speaker 2: This was a team that looked totally different after the
- 49:14Speaker 2: first two weeks. You saw them firsthand in Green Bay
- 49:16Speaker 2: when they blew out the Packers and they returned back home.
- 49:20Speaker 2: and won the next game in commanding fashion and then
- 49:22Speaker 2: ultimately lose against the Baltimore Ravens and Tyler Huntley this
- 49:27Speaker 2: past weekend. Now Tua Tungavai Loa is under center for
- 49:31Speaker 2: this Atlanta team and they welcome the Chicago Bears to
- 49:35Speaker 2: it's going to be interesting to see Tua back out there.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Do you think Tua can lead this team to victory
- 49:40Speaker 2: over Chicago? Cause I tell you what, uh, Atlanta certainly
- 49:44Speaker 2: looks like a team that could find some success in
- 49:47Speaker 2: this NFC South.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Yeah. I just don't see it happening. I don't know
- 49:51Speaker 1: if this offense would be John and Drake London have
- 49:54Speaker 1: confidence in, in Tua Tunga-Vailoa. It looked like, um, they
- 49:58Speaker 1: were looking at the sideline, trying to figure out how
- 50:00Speaker 1: to get to, I mean, how to get Pennix back
- 50:02Speaker 1: in when Tua came in. So, um, I don't know,
- 50:06Speaker 1: but I think Chicago has a similar issue. I don't
- 50:08Speaker 1: think Tyson Bajent is the answer. I think you've got
- 50:10Speaker 1: to go with Case Keenum. And I know he didn't
- 50:11Speaker 1: play much better when he came in, but Tyson Bajent
- 50:15Speaker 1: has yet to throw for a touchdown. And I know
- 50:18Speaker 1: that Chicago thinks he's one of the 32 best quarterbacks
- 50:21Speaker 1: in the National Football League, but the tape has yet
- 50:23Speaker 1: to say that. Maybe he shows it in practice, but
- 50:25Speaker 1: the game tape does not agree. And I think Case Keenum,
- 50:28Speaker 1: the veteran, is the guy that gives you your best
- 50:30Speaker 1: chance to win. You know, running the ball with DeAndre Swift,
- 50:33Speaker 1: the Manung guy, and on the opposite side, Atlanta's going
- 50:37Speaker 1: to do the same thing. I think both teams are
- 50:39Speaker 1: going to run the ball. This is going to be
- 50:40Speaker 1: a very short game. Which defense can create a turnover
- 50:42Speaker 1: and an extra possession for their offense? Give me Chicago
- 50:46Speaker 1: in this game. I hope that Ben Johnson starts Case
- 50:48Speaker 1: Keenum and goes with the veteran. I know they like
- 50:51Speaker 1: Tyson Bajent, but, I mean, when you switched last week,
- 50:55Speaker 1: I think he started to understand that Tyson Bajent maybe
- 50:57Speaker 1: isn't the guy they thought he was.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Well, if Case Keenum starts, I like Chicago. But I
- 51:02Speaker 2: think Tua, you know, I think he's got a lot
- 51:05Speaker 2: to prove. You know, obviously this season was for him
- 51:09Speaker 2: to show his worth in this NFL and get that
- 51:11Speaker 2: next contract. I expect Tua to take advantage of this opportunity.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Give me the Atlanta Falcons. I don't know why, but
- 51:21Speaker 2: just give me Atlanta. I'm taking them over Chicago. Let's
- 51:24Speaker 2: go to New York, the Giants, an emotional tie. I
- 51:28Speaker 2: don't know if we're allowed to say that, but an
- 51:30Speaker 2: emotional tie last week. Jameis Winston's got this offense moving.
- 51:35Speaker 2: A lot of statistics put up late in that game
- 51:39Speaker 2: to bring them back from the depths against the commanders
- 51:42Speaker 2: last week. They welcomed the New Orleans Saints, a team
- 51:46Speaker 2: that's one and four that looks so good in Detroit.
- 51:49Speaker 2: And now I know why, Richard, because they were playing
- 51:52Speaker 2: the Detroit Lions last who had no defense in the
- 51:54Speaker 2: second half of that game. And they seem to make
- 51:57Speaker 2: every quarterback and number one wide receiving option look good.
- 52:00Speaker 2: So I've got question marks about the New Orleans Saints.
- 52:04Speaker 2: But this team is in desperate need of a win
- 52:06Speaker 2: to stay competitive in the NFC South. And the Giants
- 52:09Speaker 2: are in desperate need of a win to stay atop
- 52:11Speaker 2: of the NFC East. Polymarket pretty much lines this one
- 52:15Speaker 2: up as a pick-em, giving New Orleans a slight favorability, 51%
- 52:19Speaker 2: likelihood to win. Richard, who are you falling in favor with?
- 52:25Speaker 2: Is it New Orleans or the Giants?
- 52:28Speaker 1: I'm starting to slowly but surely believe in this Giants
- 52:31Speaker 1: defense a little bit, especially their pass defense. They're seventh
- 52:35Speaker 1: in the league right now. And, you know, you just never–
- 52:38Speaker 1: Jameis is like a box of chocolates. You never know
- 52:40Speaker 1: what you're going to get. But– if he can push
- 52:44Speaker 1: the ball down the field, Malik neighbors is, is getting
- 52:46Speaker 1: more comfortable out there. I've obviously coming back from that
- 52:49Speaker 1: knee injury. It takes a second to get your bearings
- 52:51Speaker 1: about you. It seems like he's getting more explosive. Um,
- 52:55Speaker 1: this is John Harbaugh. We're talking about a guy who's
- 52:57Speaker 1: going to do all the right things in terms of
- 52:59Speaker 1: making decisions in game, uh, running the football, giving his
- 53:03Speaker 1: team a chance to come out with a victory. New Orleans,
- 53:06Speaker 1: Tyler Shuck has been really good at times. Uh, I'm
- 53:10Speaker 1: sure Chris Olave is excited to have him, uh, kamara
- 53:14Speaker 1: has kind of come back into the fold and been
- 53:16Speaker 1: valuable in certain situations but i think the new york
- 53:19Speaker 1: giants pulled this one out i know polymarket doesn't agree
- 53:22Speaker 1: with me but i i got the new york giants
- 53:24Speaker 1: and jamis in this one and i think they increased
- 53:27Speaker 1: their lead uh in the nfc east and i mean
- 53:31Speaker 1: last week is is quite the disaster but they avoided
- 53:34Speaker 1: a loss for sure.
- 53:36Speaker 2: They sure did um I think fortune is definitely on
- 53:40Speaker 2: the Giants' side this season, absent the Jackson Dart early injury.
- 53:44Speaker 2: But who knows? Maybe Jameis Winston keeps this train rolling.
- 53:47Speaker 2: If the Giants can exit the first quarter of the
- 53:50Speaker 2: season and be atop of the NFC East, it'd shock
- 53:53Speaker 2: a lot of people. Give me the Giants as well.
- 53:56Speaker 2: At home, Jameis, you never know what you're getting, but
- 53:59Speaker 2: I think he's going to be eating a W after
- 54:01Speaker 2: this one. Let's go to Cleveland. They welcomed the Baltimore
- 54:05Speaker 2: Ravens division foe. We saw Cleveland. This was a team
- 54:08Speaker 2: I think people got a little too far out in
- 54:10Speaker 2: front of, starting 3-1. They go on the road, take
- 54:13Speaker 2: on the Jets. Everyone thought that they would walk away
- 54:16Speaker 2: with a win, myself included, and they disappointed, losing 17-12.
- 54:22Speaker 2: On the other side, this Baltimore Ravens team just can't
- 54:24Speaker 2: seem to lose. It doesn't matter who's under center. Tyler
- 54:27Speaker 2: Huntley led this team against a red-hot Atlanta Falcons squad.
- 54:32Speaker 2: And they came away with a victory on the road.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Baltimore travels to Cleveland. Polly Market likes Baltimore. 67% likelihood
- 54:39Speaker 2: to win this game.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Who do you got? This is a tougher one because, again,
- 54:50Speaker 1: this NFC, I mean, AFC North is a competitive division.
- 54:53Speaker 1: And I like Cleveland's defense. They played at a high level.
- 54:58Speaker 1: at times. I thought they should have won that game
- 55:00Speaker 1: last week. I thought they had that game won until
- 55:03Speaker 1: they snapped the ball over the punter's head and they struggled.
- 55:07Speaker 1: But give me Baltimore in this game because I just
- 55:10Speaker 1: don't know if Cleveland's offense can do enough to stop
- 55:13Speaker 1: whether Lamar plays or not. They're going to run the
- 55:16Speaker 1: ball effectively. They're going to run the ball as much
- 55:18Speaker 1: as they can. And I think if Snoop Huntley plays,
- 55:21Speaker 1: he's going to do enough to help them get that win.
- 55:23Speaker 1: And if Lamar plays, it's going to be more than enough.
- 55:26Speaker 1: So give me Baltimore in this game.
- 55:29Speaker 2: It'll be an interesting matchup. There's no question about it.
- 55:31Speaker 2: I like Cleveland. They're at home. I think Tyler Huntley,
- 55:35Speaker 2: you know, under center has obviously kept them competitive in games.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Something about Cleveland at home in a divisional matchup. Give
- 55:42Speaker 2: me Cleveland. And finally, it's the Tennessee Titans time to
- 55:48Speaker 2: get some commentary on this show. They take on the
- 55:50Speaker 2: Indianapolis Colts. at the Colts. I'm assuming you're going to
- 55:53Speaker 2: pick Indy. I kind of want to talk to you
- 55:55Speaker 2: more about what's going on with Cam Ward, uh, under
- 55:59Speaker 2: center for the Titans. This guy was highly regarded out
- 56:01Speaker 2: of Miami. The number one overall pick. Um, obviously he's
- 56:05Speaker 2: got a unique style of play. Looks a lot more
- 56:07Speaker 2: casual and calm in the pocket. Some say way too casual. Uh,
- 56:11Speaker 2: but this past week we saw some highlights of his
- 56:14Speaker 2: offensive lineman seemingly blocking no one and letting free rushers
- 56:18Speaker 2: at the quarterback. Um, Do you think that Cam Ward
- 56:23Speaker 2: is more to blame for this Tennessee Titans failure? Or
- 56:26Speaker 2: do you think the team as a whole is just
- 56:28Speaker 2: not set up for success?
- 56:32Speaker 1: I mean, you can blame whoever you want. He's the quarterback.
- 56:35Speaker 1: He's going to get a lot of the blame. And
- 56:38Speaker 1: their offensive line, you showed the clip. People have seen
- 56:41Speaker 1: the clips. And you can say that about a number
- 56:44Speaker 1: of offensive lines, especially plays they've given up sacks. You've
- 56:47Speaker 1: seen really good offensive lines look incompetent at times. when
- 56:51Speaker 1: certain stunts are made or certain guys make mistakes. But
- 56:56Speaker 1: at the end of the day, it's going to fall
- 56:57Speaker 1: on the quarterback. And at some point you're going to
- 56:58Speaker 1: have to win football games. And I got, I got
- 57:01Speaker 1: the Indianapolis Colts winning this football game. And that's, that's
- 57:03Speaker 1: the reason they pay the quarterback big bucks. That's the
- 57:05Speaker 1: reason they put so much responsibility on them. You got
- 57:08Speaker 1: to find a way to make happen when you do
- 57:09Speaker 1: have time. And there have been times Cam Ward has
- 57:12Speaker 1: had time and not made great decisions. So you're sure
- 57:15Speaker 1: the offensive line isn't perfect. They're, they're probably bottom half
- 57:19Speaker 1: of the league, but, what do you do when you
- 57:21Speaker 1: do have time? And right now that hasn't been good enough.
- 57:25Speaker 1: And you know, the defense has played pretty solid football,
- 57:28Speaker 1: not great, not bad, but when your office isn't playing
- 57:30Speaker 1: as well as they could, it makes it really tough
- 57:32Speaker 1: to win ball games. So give me India in this one.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Well, that includes, that concludes our week six predictions here
- 57:41Speaker 2: and previews. Richard, it's always a pleasure to sit down
- 57:44Speaker 2: with you midweek. I will let you sign us off
- 57:46Speaker 2: my friend.
