- 0:00Speaker 1: Here we are, last break of the day on this Friday.
- 0:04Speaker 2: We made it. We made it. Thank you to our audience,
- 0:07Speaker 2: as always, to the Steve Harvey Nation. Junior, you have
- 0:10Speaker 2: a question for Steve on the way out? Yeah. Unc,
- 0:13Speaker 2: let me ask you about this, Unc, because, you know,
- 0:15Speaker 2: I think you're great. And, Unc, it's okay for everybody
- 0:18Speaker 2: to be great? Can everybody just be great? No, everybody's
- 0:22Speaker 2: not going to be great, Junior. No, it's not going
- 0:25Speaker 2: to happen.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Everybody's not going to be great because great comes with
- 0:29Speaker 1: a cost. Everybody, everybody don't want to pay the cost.
- 0:33Speaker 1: You know, I know a lot of people started out
- 0:36Speaker 1: to be great, but then the cost and they stopped,
- 0:41Speaker 1: you know, so no, everybody's not going to be great.
- 0:43Speaker 2: And it's OK. And it's OK. It depends on your
- 0:46Speaker 2: definition of greatness.
- 0:48Speaker 1: But if you if your greatness is comparing yourself to
- 0:51Speaker 1: somebody else, you're going to be in a world of trouble.
- 0:54Speaker 1: You're going to be in a world of trouble, man.
- 0:57Speaker 1: if you're trying to make your greatness compared to somebody else,
- 1:00Speaker 1: because your path is not, you're not going to ever
- 1:04Speaker 1: get the same path. You know, no two people get
- 1:07Speaker 1: the exact same set of circumstances. It's just like, look, man, no,
- 1:12Speaker 1: no two people have the same, uh, um, um, fingerprint
- 1:16Speaker 1: because God made us uniquely us and our path in
- 1:20Speaker 1: life is uniquely ours, you know? So no, man, um,
- 1:26Speaker 1: Don't compare yourself to others. Just go on and be
- 1:28Speaker 1: your own version of greatness. I would hope that everybody
- 1:32Speaker 1: would want to be the best version of themselves that
- 1:34Speaker 1: they could possibly be. That's the ultimate. So if you
- 1:39Speaker 1: want to be the teacher of the year, win it.
- 1:42Speaker 1: You know, if you want to be employee of the month,
- 1:44Speaker 1: win it. You know, if you want to get the
- 1:48Speaker 1: salesman of the year, go for it. You want to
- 1:51Speaker 1: climb the corporate ladder, be about it. You want to
- 1:55Speaker 1: be the first person in your family to become supervisor?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Man, live it.
- 2:00Speaker 1: But go be the greatest version of you that you
- 2:02Speaker 1: can possibly be. That should be everybody's goal. But sad
- 2:06Speaker 1: to say, there are still people who won't do that.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Let's take the comparison off the table. There are still
- 2:13Speaker 1: people who will not go and be the best version
- 2:16Speaker 1: of themselves.
- 2:18Speaker 2: You see it all the time. Look, man, the thing.
- 2:21Speaker 1: God did to us that was really, really cool was
- 2:25Speaker 1: God gave all of us the power of choice.
- 2:29Speaker 2: We get to decide. Look, birds, when they're born, birds
- 2:32Speaker 2: have to be birds.
- 2:34Speaker 1: They have to live in a nest for a while,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and they get put out the nest or whatever, and
- 2:39Speaker 1: birds have to go fly. And birds eat insects, other birds, worms, meat.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Some birds are hunters, falcons, eagles, hawks. You know, they
- 2:53Speaker 1: eat wildlife. But they are birds. Dogs, no matter what
- 2:59Speaker 1: breed they are, they steal dogs. And they live the
- 3:03Speaker 1: dog's life. We are the only animal, the only creature
- 3:07Speaker 1: that God created that he gave the power of choice
- 3:11Speaker 1: to because we are created in God's image. So the
- 3:14Speaker 1: beautiful thing about whoever we are, we get to choose
- 3:19Speaker 1: and we can make decisions about our life every day.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Black people don't have to marry black people. White people
- 3:27Speaker 1: don't have to marry white people. You get to choose.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Dogs have to be with other dogs.
- 3:33Speaker 2: No, man. No. We get to choose that.
- 3:40Speaker 1: So if you are unhappy with the direction of your life,
- 3:45Speaker 1: here's the caveat.
- 3:48Speaker 2: You, right now, can make a.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Decision that to change that and guess what you don't
- 3:55Speaker 1: need nobody's permission it's a beautiful thing God has given
- 3:59Speaker 1: us the power of choice because once you get sick
- 4:03Speaker 1: of being whatever version of you you've become you can
- 4:07Speaker 1: make the decision to change that there was a period
- 4:09Speaker 1: in my life man I was just sick of me
- 4:13Speaker 1: I was sick of the version I was and I
- 4:16Speaker 1: decided man I got to be a better version of
- 4:19Speaker 1: me because I'm with me every day And I was
- 4:23Speaker 1: sick of the person I was being with. I woke
- 4:26Speaker 1: up to this dude every morning. This is who I'm
- 4:29Speaker 1: riding with. This is my dog ride or die. Man,
- 4:33Speaker 1: let me change this cat right here. Because this dude
- 4:36Speaker 1: right here, he got to do better. And I made
- 4:38Speaker 1: the decision.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And I did.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And that's the beautiful thing of it, man. God gave
- 4:44Speaker 1: us the power of choice.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You get to decide. So now.
- 4:49Speaker 1: When your life ain't going the way you want to,
- 4:51Speaker 1: quit blaming other people. Quit looking around for some external
- 4:56Speaker 1: reasoning and all this here. What about you? Because you
- 5:02Speaker 1: get to decide. You can yay or nay. You can
- 5:05Speaker 1: pull the trigger on the idea or not. You can
- 5:07Speaker 1: begin or you can procrastinate. You can look at it
- 5:10Speaker 1: negatively or you can look at it positively. You can
- 5:14Speaker 1: go the right way or you can go the wrong way.
- 5:19Speaker 1: You can buckle down, get yourself an education or whatever
- 5:22Speaker 1: you need. You can buckle down, get yourself a career,
- 5:24Speaker 1: get yourself a craft, get yourself a skill, and go
- 5:27Speaker 1: on about your business and make that money. Or you
- 5:30Speaker 1: can go for this quick money. You can go and
- 5:31Speaker 1: get yourself some drugs. You can start slinging. And I
- 5:36Speaker 1: tell you right now, man, you're going to wish you hadn't.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Everybody I know sell drugs at one point, wish they hadn't.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Where was I at? Where was I at, man? Oh, InvestFest.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I bet I met Big Meech, the real Big Meech,
- 5:57Speaker 1: from Black Mafia Family.
- 6:01Speaker 2: What's the show? BMF. BMF. I met the real Big Meech.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Cool dude. Loved him right away. He said, man, I'm
- 6:09Speaker 2: giving my life together, Steve. Right on.
- 6:13Speaker 1: He made a new choice, because that old choice got
- 6:16Speaker 1: him in prison. The new choice, keeping him out. Shout
- 6:20Speaker 1: out to Big Meech, man. Pleasure meeting you that day.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Y'all have a great day today. Talk to God today.
- 6:25Speaker 1: He would absolutely love to hear from you. And that
- 6:28Speaker 1: too is a choice.
