- 1:02Speaker 2: Cool anyway, good to it. So where the health I've
- 1:04Speaker 2: been last couple of months. Been a little bit crazy?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Oh good?
- 1:09Speaker 2: I have just been essentially taking I'm not I don't
- 1:11Speaker 2: want to say mental breaks, but just been trying to
- 1:14Speaker 2: prioritize making sure with what I kind of said a
- 1:17Speaker 2: couple months ago, just with the ADHD and all that
- 1:18Speaker 2: stuff going on, that's I just truly figure out how
- 1:21Speaker 2: this stuff.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Works and occasions and all that. And oh, of course
- 1:25Speaker 3: you have to come in here right when I start this,
- 1:27Speaker 3: don't you, Bob? Also?
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, so I've been doing that, and speaking of that.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Also adopted a new dog.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yes, my lovely wife and I adopted a new dog.
- 1:37Speaker 2: He gave Tully a brother, King Charles Cavalier. His name
- 1:43Speaker 2: is Shuba. Of course he ran in here, Susie heard
- 1:46Speaker 2: me talking.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Didn't you, Bob?
- 1:48Speaker 2: Come here?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Come say hi? Yeah, he's a good boy.
- 1:56Speaker 2: He's gotta work on treats though, because he almost bites
- 1:58Speaker 2: your fingers.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Otherwise he's a great dog, still learning.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yeah, cats weren't a fan of him at first, but
- 2:05Speaker 2: now they're all chill with him.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 2: So we've been doing that work on house stuff, trying
- 2:10Speaker 2: to get other stuff done, and yeah, started voice acting
- 2:14Speaker 2: stuff again. I have done some auditions or not I
- 2:16Speaker 2: shouldn't say auditions. I've sent in some feelers, if you will,
- 2:19Speaker 2: in h for reels.
- 2:22Speaker 3: And why are you scratching me? Bob?
- 2:24Speaker 2: God got pet topping you for two seconds and you
- 2:26Speaker 2: scratch me?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Don't scratch me? Do you lay in your bed? Go
- 2:31Speaker 3: in your bed.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I'm in the middle of recording a multi platinum well.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Not score viewership wise, but production wise. Podcast. Go over there,
- 2:42Speaker 3: thank you.
- 2:44Speaker 2: So let's say oh yeah, hi, so yeah, so started
- 2:49Speaker 2: doing that again. It's been a lot of fun. I
- 2:51Speaker 2: haven't got anything, but still working.
- 2:52Speaker 3: And then yeah, just join life, try and enjoy the
- 2:59Speaker 3: nice summer.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Been going a lot on that, nice walks, done some concerts,
- 3:04Speaker 2: saying some rastling.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it's pretty much it, pretty much.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I'm pretty confident I'm back now full time with of
- 3:12Speaker 2: this and everything like that. So to apologize for the
- 3:17Speaker 2: what's the term disappearance, just yeah, So have you read
- 3:22Speaker 2: the title of this episode.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Episode two O nine. I like I know that number
- 3:26Speaker 3: for some reason. Two nine.
- 3:29Speaker 2: We I'm just gonna do a couple of slip reviews.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I am drinking Bubbly what flavor line? I was gonna
- 3:36Speaker 2: have a bevy simply. Oh and also I've been practicing
- 3:38Speaker 2: my golf game. Yes, I been trying really hard to
- 3:41Speaker 2: practice golf. It's been hilarious if you're watching me practice golf.
- 3:47Speaker 2: If you're me, it's not been fun because I'm a
- 3:50Speaker 2: very impatient person, especially when it comes to athletics.
- 3:53Speaker 3: So much so that when I actually went to I
- 3:55Speaker 3: actually had a.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Fitting with a club brand that I won't say because
- 4:01Speaker 2: they don't pay me all the start of an hour
- 4:02Speaker 2: time they should be paying me.
- 4:03Speaker 3: That's a joke. They would get it.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Actually, they shouldn't be paying me because it's something on
- 4:09Speaker 2: our end that we messed up. Anyway, Well, sorry short,
- 4:13Speaker 2: Well those sceness were during their fitting like, oh wow,
- 4:14Speaker 2: these are really nice clubs. I'm like, wait, why they
- 4:16Speaker 2: feel different? Oh, because the clubs I have are too short,
- 4:18Speaker 2: Like they're not standard Clubs'm like, well and I was,
- 4:21Speaker 2: hold they they are and they aren't, Like well what
- 4:23Speaker 2: does that mean anyway? Different survey of their time. So yes,
- 4:26Speaker 2: why Bubbly Delicious get some darning. Just realize they're not
- 4:30Speaker 2: even a sponsor. I just plugged them. Shit, sorry shacks. Anyway,
- 4:34Speaker 2: good thing I'm recording to. Yeah, I'm just gonna do
- 4:37Speaker 2: a couple of slurp reviews. Just want to come back?
- 4:39Speaker 2: Can I get the swing of things you should getting
- 4:41Speaker 2: back in the game. First one I'm gonna do is
- 4:45Speaker 2: Toy Story five. Uh So, my lovely wife and I
- 4:49Speaker 2: we saw this when it came out because we're Disney freaks.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Nothing wrong with that, also because it was just date
- 4:54Speaker 2: and night and we decided, hey, it came out today,
- 4:56Speaker 2: let's go see it. Cool spoiler as always, if you're
- 5:02Speaker 2: listening to any review, here's the thing I don't understand if.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Something came out.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I'm not blaming anyone who listened to the show. If
- 5:10Speaker 2: something came out and you're listening to something about said content, media, whatever,
- 5:22Speaker 2: and it's out posts the time you're listening to said
- 5:26Speaker 2: recording or watching said video, and then the spoiler comes
- 5:30Speaker 2: in and you go, what the hell it's like? You know,
- 5:35Speaker 2: there's a thing called the not even the search button,
- 5:38Speaker 2: the subject title button that when you watch something, it.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Tells you what it is.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And if you're reading, listening, or watching something that says
- 5:47Speaker 2: toy story five, even if the word reviews not in
- 5:49Speaker 2: there and it came out afterward, I'm sorry if somebody
- 5:52Speaker 2: could spoiled for you, but that is your fault. It's
- 5:55Speaker 2: not like I'm a guy in nineteen what year was it,
- 5:59Speaker 2: nineteen eighty three or eighty five, and I'm walking out
- 6:02Speaker 2: of the theater going, well.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I can't believe Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father.
- 6:06Speaker 2: You know, not like I'm doing that now. Also, don't
- 6:11Speaker 2: be a dick, don't spoil shit anyway. So Toy Story five,
- 6:16Speaker 2: this is definitely the Jesse movie. I really enjoyed the
- 6:21Speaker 2: story they told for her talk to her they not
- 6:23Speaker 2: told Yeah, so actually they just rate off to you
- 6:26Speaker 2: a story. No, they showed you her past where she
- 6:30Speaker 2: essentially got quote unquote left, you know, the whole full
- 6:33Speaker 2: circle moment.
- 6:34Speaker 3: But I'm not really gonna.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Talk about that because I think I definitely do think
- 6:38Speaker 2: it's one of those things that you people should see
- 6:39Speaker 2: because I do think they did a really good.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Job of.
- 6:44Speaker 2: How does how do the characters and toy story deal
- 6:48Speaker 2: with probably today's one of today's greatest challenges or not challenges.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I should say what one of today's greatest.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Challenges is an awful word? I apologize.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Greatest commonality these amongst children? How do they go against
- 7:03Speaker 2: iPad kids? Dun dundu?
- 7:05Speaker 3: And I thought they did really good job with it.
- 7:08Speaker 2: The main if you're gonna see this movie, though, you
- 7:10Speaker 2: just gotta see it for the buzz Lightyear side quest.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Mon sorry short, A bunch of let's say up to
- 7:17Speaker 2: date buzz light Years get lost at sea and they
- 7:24Speaker 2: are without knowing trying to find their way to Jesse,
- 7:27Speaker 2: and it is literally the I'm not joking. I have
- 7:31Speaker 2: not laughed that hard in a theater in a.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Very long time.
- 7:36Speaker 2: The last time I remember laughing that hard a movie
- 7:38Speaker 2: theater I probably mentioned a com podcast about this couple,
- 7:40Speaker 2: and other times I laughed really hard, But in terms
- 7:42Speaker 2: of consistently and throughout the entire movie, it was when
- 7:46Speaker 2: I went to Tubuque, Iowa, my first weekend when I was.
- 7:49Speaker 3: There for college. I was only there for a semester, shocking.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I know, or no, I was ever two semesters. Give
- 7:55Speaker 2: myself a little credit. Two semesters. Hold on, can give.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Myself little credit here? Okay? Was it two? Actually might
- 8:04Speaker 3: have been three?
- 8:05Speaker 2: No, it's two two semesters.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Uh uh?
- 8:10Speaker 2: Was this movie called Movie forty three, which is an
- 8:12Speaker 2: awful movie, but it's one of those like spoof clearly
- 8:15Speaker 2: just for the sake of comedy movies with all these
- 8:18Speaker 2: famous people. They probably filmed it in like a couple hours,
- 8:22Speaker 2: and it's just the most horrendous, funniest shit that just grotesque.
- 8:27Speaker 2: It would never they would never mention, probably during an
- 8:29Speaker 2: interview anyway, And I remember because I was just with
- 8:32Speaker 2: a bunch of football guys. We were just laughing our
- 8:33Speaker 2: asses off because we were you know, darylics shocking, I know,
- 8:37Speaker 2: but this buzz Light your thing. It was just back
- 8:41Speaker 2: and forth, so funny. They don't know, you know, of
- 8:43Speaker 2: course we know Buzzlight or the toy story thing. They
- 8:46Speaker 2: don't know they're freaking toys. So they're all doing this
- 8:49Speaker 2: whole like, you know, why why is everyone so gigantic
- 8:52Speaker 2: or anytime a human looks at them, why do they
- 8:54Speaker 2: all the toys all of a sudden just fall over,
- 8:56Speaker 2: Like why can't they like why can't they do anything
- 8:58Speaker 2: about it?
- 9:00Speaker 3: Et cetera.
- 9:00Speaker 2: And it's just this funny like it's literally like, oh hey,
- 9:05Speaker 2: like what if a bunch of buzz Light years from
- 9:06Speaker 2: the original toy story where they don't think they're a toy,
- 9:09Speaker 2: they think are an actual space ranger just walk amongst
- 9:13Speaker 2: us without without without us knowing. And it was just
- 9:16Speaker 2: the funniest stuff. I just uh I And right away
- 9:24Speaker 2: spoiler like, there's a little big bit at the beginning
- 9:28Speaker 2: where they walk up a crane and a guy working
- 9:32Speaker 2: the psyche and kind of seems to half of the
- 9:33Speaker 2: crane because he sees a little lights on him, and
- 9:35Speaker 2: right away my wife goes, oh, kind of looks like
- 9:37Speaker 2: a bunch of drones. I'm like, oh, yeah, they kind
- 9:38Speaker 2: of look a bunch of drones. Spoiler they end up
- 9:40Speaker 2: actually having drones on them. And it was super funny,
- 9:43Speaker 2: good like it was just like it was like one
- 9:44Speaker 2: of those like little things where like if you notice
- 9:46Speaker 2: that at the beginning, you're kind of like, Okay, I
- 9:47Speaker 2: could see if that's gonna come back in somehow, But
- 9:50Speaker 2: of course I'm just watching a toy story movie and
- 9:52Speaker 2: I'm the guy in movies and goes like, oh, that's
- 9:53Speaker 2: gonna come back into play later. I didn't catch that,
- 9:55Speaker 2: so I was genuinely surprised. But yeah, no, very good movie.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Very They definitely did. They did what every toy story
- 10:03Speaker 2: movie does. Doesn't matter if you're a five year old
- 10:06Speaker 2: or a thirty five year old. Man, I'm on thirty five.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It definitely pulls on the heart strains in some aspects.
- 10:12Speaker 2: It makes you laugh, it can make you cry, and yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 2: I again, I know the last couple of years, Pixar
- 10:20Speaker 2: hasn't been seen in the greatest I'm not gonna say
- 10:22Speaker 2: limeley like they've been doing things wrong. They haven't been
- 10:24Speaker 2: seen as like a top tier or not.
- 10:27Speaker 3: They have been seen as a top tier.
- 10:29Speaker 2: They're not like the late nineties two thousands where every
- 10:32Speaker 2: movie they were hitting was just a knockout of the park.
- 10:34Speaker 2: That's in terms of like critics and also just fan
- 10:36Speaker 2: are yeah, just fan like comments and stuff like that,
- 10:39Speaker 2: or yeah, the critics in the audience. But again, five
- 10:43Speaker 2: toy stories later, it's one of those things where like
- 10:46Speaker 2: you can debate what's the best toy story, what's the
- 10:49Speaker 2: worst toy story? The bottom line is, oh, none of
- 10:51Speaker 2: them suck. Which how many movies can you? Okay, coming
- 10:56Speaker 2: from a Star Wars guy, I can tell you what
- 10:58Speaker 2: my favorite Star Wars movie. I can tell you what
- 11:01Speaker 2: my least favorite Star Wars movie is. But some of
- 11:05Speaker 2: those least favorite Star Wars movies, there are people who
- 11:07Speaker 2: absolutely hate those movies. With toy story, you never hear, okay,
- 11:11Speaker 2: perfect example, great, my dogs are running stuff forward, you
- 11:15Speaker 2: hear people will talk bad or have opinions on bad
- 11:21Speaker 2: negative opinions, which is again all film subjective on Star
- 11:25Speaker 2: Wars movies, superhero movies, rom coms, horror, you know, biopics,
- 11:31Speaker 2: all that stuff. Hell with the most recent John Michael
- 11:34Speaker 2: Jackson movie. I didn't see it. A lot of reviews
- 11:37Speaker 2: really didn't weren't that great with it, but it made
- 11:40Speaker 2: a lot of money, So who cares?
- 11:41Speaker 3: Right with Toy Story though, But.
- 11:48Speaker 2: If their five movies are on a report card, they're
- 11:51Speaker 2: averaging one at least. Inn a. Oh great, Telly, shoota,
- 11:56Speaker 2: what are you guys doing? I'm trying to do a
- 11:58Speaker 2: show here. This is a high, multi platinum, multi platinum.
- 12:06Speaker 3: You gotta have that attitude, multi.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Platinum recording show in my multi multi multi billion dollar
- 12:14Speaker 2: in my head studio, which my wife mostly put together
- 12:17Speaker 2: because she's awesome.
- 12:20Speaker 3: What's up, bub you guys go lay in your bed please.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Anyway, In terms of the Toy Story five though, it
- 12:28Speaker 2: was Yeah, I I I said, I'm looking forward to
- 12:31Speaker 2: seeing it again, even just for the buzz like I
- 12:33Speaker 2: said after we left the movie, Like I the Jesse
- 12:35Speaker 2: story was great, The main story was great.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Wood He was great.
- 12:39Speaker 2: But I literally just want to give me a Disney
- 12:41Speaker 2: Plus show with just the buzzes just doing their thing.
- 12:47Speaker 3: That's that's what we can be. Just do, just just
- 12:49Speaker 3: do this.
- 12:49Speaker 2: The bits or the adventures that we didn't get to
- 12:51Speaker 2: see because they literally travel across the planet trying to
- 12:54Speaker 2: get to wherever the hell Jesse is. Just give us that,
- 12:58Speaker 2: give us eight episodes of that. Come on, Jo tomorrow,
- 13:01Speaker 2: Come on, do it, do it. Yeah. In terms of rating,
- 13:07Speaker 2: I mean, I don't really know how you would rate it.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Like I said, I don't think I've ever seen a
- 13:12Speaker 2: bad Toy Story movie, So I'll say I definitely think
- 13:16Speaker 2: it's in the top three. I've gotten in arguments about
- 13:23Speaker 2: this before. I two is my least favorite. I know
- 13:32Speaker 2: some people think that's a plasmids. They think two's the
- 13:34Speaker 2: best one.
- 13:34Speaker 3: For me. The best three are one, three, and five.
- 13:37Speaker 3: That's what I would say.
- 13:38Speaker 2: One obviously like it's it's the original, it's a classic.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Three I think, especially if you were a kid who
- 13:42Speaker 2: saw the first one that first came out, like that's
- 13:44Speaker 2: that just that move is made for you. And then
- 13:47Speaker 2: five I think I just think like comedy.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Like just a story bits.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I think it was all just great, especially if you're
- 13:51Speaker 2: grow a person growing up in this day and age.
- 13:53Speaker 3: It was just it was just a perfect story.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Oh god, I'd give it it. Oh man, this is
- 14:02Speaker 2: a tough one. I will give it a you know what,
- 14:09Speaker 2: I'm not gonna give it a score. I'm just gonna
- 14:10Speaker 2: give it. If you know me, you're gonna know if
- 14:12Speaker 2: I like this or not. Okay, I will give it
- 14:16Speaker 2: a cheese and pepper or a sausage of pepperoni pizza
- 14:21Speaker 2: from Pizza Planet.
- 14:23Speaker 3: That's what I would give it. Cool. Cool, all right,
- 14:26Speaker 3: Now for the big one. Let me make sure I
- 14:30Speaker 3: get the title right. Yeah, you gotta get it right. Okay,
- 14:35Speaker 3: Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu. That's an inside Joe
- 14:40Speaker 3: from a different show.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yes, also saw The Mandalorian and.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Grogu because the last podcast I.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Did was the review for Mall Shadow or Sorry as
- 14:50Speaker 2: some people call it, Mal's Shadow Daddy, So actually.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I think it can.
- 14:56Speaker 2: This movie came out literally the week after Mal. So, Yes,
- 14:59Speaker 2: I saw The Man Laurian Engrogu.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Where do I begin?
- 15:03Speaker 2: First Off, I agree, I think the as.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I talked about a couple of months ago.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I do think the Super Bowl ad. I think if
- 15:17Speaker 2: you're a Star Wars fan or a person who watched
- 15:22Speaker 2: football in the eighties and nineties and understood it and
- 15:26Speaker 2: like the commercial and stuff like that that was made
- 15:28Speaker 2: for you. That commercial was highly criticized because it really
- 15:32Speaker 2: The main issue with the marketing was no one knew
- 15:35Speaker 2: the story. Now, sometimes with some movies you don't need
- 15:38Speaker 2: to know the story, but because of the divided opinion
- 15:45Speaker 2: of Star Wars, you needed something to hook in. Okay, great,
- 15:49Speaker 2: you haven't had them. This is the biggest This has
- 15:51Speaker 2: been the biggest common question for this movie before it
- 15:53Speaker 2: came out. Okay, you where about it? Oh yeah, so
- 15:58Speaker 2: you haven't made a movie, or s me, you haven't
- 16:00Speaker 2: made a movie. Actually, no, you tically haven't made a movie.
- 16:04Speaker 2: A movie hasn't come out since twenty nineteen, right before
- 16:09Speaker 2: the pandemic, a movie, mind you, that wasn't that well
- 16:15Speaker 2: received amongst the audiences and the critics. I enjoyed it,
- 16:18Speaker 2: but then I think it's a little biased. That's pretty
- 16:20Speaker 2: obvious at this point. I do understand some of the criticisms.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I do think they are right not rewriting. I shouldn't
- 16:29Speaker 2: say that they're writing some of those wrongs with other
- 16:31Speaker 2: shows and platforms that they're working on, which is okay,
- 16:34Speaker 2: I mean other shows things than that. But you're gonna
- 16:40Speaker 2: do that, And then you're going so this first movie
- 16:42Speaker 2: since writ Skywalker in six years, five years, Well, I.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Can't do math. Oh god, I actually no shit, excuse me?
- 16:53Speaker 3: Oh yeah, six and a half years. I was close.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Six and a half years, you're gonna have this movie
- 16:58Speaker 2: come out. And it's not only just a it's like
- 17:00Speaker 2: like the original movie. It's a movie based off of
- 17:03Speaker 2: a TV show that from the first three seasons, two
- 17:09Speaker 2: of them were critically and acclaimed and the audience were
- 17:13Speaker 2: in love with. And then the third season was probably
- 17:17Speaker 2: the weakest or the weaker, if you will, of the
- 17:20Speaker 2: three seasons. I liked it, but I can admit to
- 17:24Speaker 2: it definitely was the weakest of the three seasons because
- 17:26Speaker 2: the first thing, I got this whole mysterious this lore
- 17:29Speaker 2: you're learning about and all that stuff. Then the second
- 17:31Speaker 2: season just balls to the wall. There's a war going on.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Everything from the first season is coming to a conclusion
- 17:36Speaker 2: what's gonna happen? And then the third season it's just like, wait,
- 17:39Speaker 2: why what happened?
- 17:41Speaker 3: Like what? It was kind of like that.
- 17:45Speaker 2: So I not even liked I loved the movie. I
- 17:54Speaker 2: liked how it didn't like it didn't do the original crawl,
- 17:58Speaker 2: but it pretty much the text came up pretty much
- 18:01Speaker 2: said exactly, here's what it is, here's why Mandalorian is
- 18:04Speaker 2: working with the New Republic. YadA YadA, YadA, okay, cool,
- 18:08Speaker 2: and he gets this mission to go find the huts
- 18:12Speaker 2: through the huts what is it?
- 18:15Speaker 3: Aunt and Uncle which everyone can see my mile away.
- 18:17Speaker 2: They always just want to kill him so they can
- 18:19Speaker 2: get the inheritance and all that stuff, all that jazz anyway,
- 18:22Speaker 2: and I thought.
- 18:22Speaker 3: The action was great. It went right into it.
- 18:28Speaker 2: What else, Martin SCORSESEI makes it a voice appearance as
- 18:32Speaker 2: like this like Chef, which is funny, fucking hilarious. Zeb
- 18:36Speaker 2: was in it, which is great. The movie was good.
- 18:41Speaker 2: If there's one issue I would have with it, I
- 18:42Speaker 2: would have to say, is this okay?
- 18:46Speaker 3: Or two issues?
- 18:47Speaker 2: Rather the first one, and I'm gonna get to the
- 18:50Speaker 2: first one right away. Did I feel like this was
- 18:52Speaker 2: a movie.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Or was this a TV show?
- 18:56Speaker 2: I can definitely say I after're talking to Actually, even
- 18:59Speaker 2: my wife and I talked about this. I definitely felt
- 19:02Speaker 2: like part of this was a TV show because there
- 19:06Speaker 2: are certain beats, like every movies have those beats. It's like, okay,
- 19:10Speaker 2: you know, introduction, learn the characters, what's the story?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Boom boom boom boom. Okay.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Maybe in the middle of there's like a breaking point.
- 19:15Speaker 2: How is the karaitch can come over?
- 19:16Speaker 3: The comes? Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 19:18Speaker 2: In TV, especially in a lot of like action sci
- 19:20Speaker 2: fi shows, that happens quite often, and there's a lot
- 19:24Speaker 2: of beats where it's like you can almost you can
- 19:26Speaker 2: kind of pinpoint here's where episode two would start, Here's
- 19:29Speaker 2: where episode three would end, Here's where episode four would
- 19:31Speaker 2: have that that breaking point, all that stuff, I definitely could.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I can definitely see that, especially if anything.
- 19:41Speaker 3: That really the main.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Point of emphasis of that was when uh Mando and
- 19:46Speaker 2: Grogo go back to forget Navarro. I know my Star
- 19:49Speaker 2: Wars people go back to Navarro to their house, they're
- 19:53Speaker 2: hanging out whatever. Then the body hunter comes and like
- 19:56Speaker 2: that whole thing itself was kind of its own episode,
- 19:58Speaker 2: as well as when spoiler obviously Mandalori gets poisoned, and
- 20:06Speaker 2: and also the how I word this? Essentially it's just
- 20:10Speaker 2: the Grog episode, Like how's Grogo gonna save mandal That's
- 20:12Speaker 2: really what it is, and it I liked it. That
- 20:15Speaker 2: was cute, that was funny, some mass parks, but then
- 20:17Speaker 2: the reason in parts I'm like, okay, this is taking
- 20:19Speaker 2: a little bit longer than I thought was.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Going to, So.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that's I can definitely see where the points where
- 20:28Speaker 2: people were saying, like, Okay, is this is this? Is
- 20:30Speaker 2: this actually a movie or just be a TV show?
- 20:33Speaker 2: Although I thought the action was great, it definitely wasn't
- 20:37Speaker 2: one of those giant, overarching big star wars stories, which
- 20:42Speaker 2: is fine because not every especially I think Marvel, like
- 20:45Speaker 2: a lot of people criticize.
- 20:47Speaker 3: But they hate Marvel for like what they've.
- 20:49Speaker 2: And I want to say done to cinema, but like,
- 20:53Speaker 2: not every movie needs to be this giant, big conglomerate thing.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Some movies can actually lead to certain things. Okay for example,
- 21:00Speaker 2: and say it Lord of the Rings, great trilogy, but
- 21:04Speaker 2: realistically the first one, I think the first and third
- 21:07Speaker 2: one of their own movie, that's my opinion, But the
- 21:09Speaker 2: second one is just a not a pre is an
- 21:13Speaker 2: epilogue if you will, to the third movie, which I
- 21:19Speaker 2: love and I love those movies. This it just felt
- 21:24Speaker 2: like it literally felt like again, like I said this
- 21:28Speaker 2: before on the show, it's been no secret that during
- 21:34Speaker 2: I think it was during the pandemic with technically two
- 21:37Speaker 2: regimes ago with Disney, Maanat was supposed to be a
- 21:40Speaker 2: TV show, which hindsight even not even hindsight prior was
- 21:48Speaker 2: I would say it was an awful this awful idea.
- 21:50Speaker 2: The movie made of gazillion dollars in theaters. The first
- 21:54Speaker 2: one was streamed god knows how many times even prior
- 21:57Speaker 2: to the second one coming out, and then it did
- 22:00Speaker 2: come into theaters. But if you watch that movie, you
- 22:05Speaker 2: can literally see beat for beat. First episode ends here,
- 22:10Speaker 2: second episode ends here, third episode.
- 22:13Speaker 3: So you can see it.
- 22:14Speaker 2: You can see those things because you're watching it and
- 22:17Speaker 2: like it's not even like you're it's not even like
- 22:19Speaker 2: you're trying to watch it. It's just like, whoa a
- 22:22Speaker 2: lot happened in twenty minutes? Whoa a lot just happened
- 22:26Speaker 2: in twenty minutes?
- 22:27Speaker 3: Like you don't get it.
- 22:28Speaker 2: You don't get a chance to like breathe if you will,
- 22:31Speaker 2: if you will, while with like most TV shows, you
- 22:34Speaker 2: do get a chance to breathe unless you binge all
- 22:36Speaker 2: of them like a certain friend of mine, like for example,
- 22:40Speaker 2: like when Shaggs and I reviewed So Review Penguin, Why
- 22:43Speaker 2: was that show? I think other than why the fact
- 22:45Speaker 2: was that, other than the factive show was phenomenal?
- 22:47Speaker 3: Why was that show so good?
- 22:48Speaker 2: Because every single week they had you hook at the end,
- 22:52Speaker 2: what's gonna happen to Oswald next week? Also you're sitting
- 22:56Speaker 2: there going, why am I wondering what's gonna happen to
- 22:58Speaker 2: this sadistic psycho piece of shit maniac? Like why would
- 23:06Speaker 2: I care? But then you then you exce you out
- 23:08Speaker 2: next Sunday night you're on the couch watching it. And
- 23:10Speaker 2: also that a little hook of like is Batman in
- 23:12Speaker 2: a show?
- 23:12Speaker 3: He doesn't show spoiler alert but like ish, but like
- 23:18Speaker 3: is he? But you just don't know? And that was
- 23:20Speaker 3: the hook to it.
- 23:21Speaker 2: They never they write itway and the thing is like
- 23:23Speaker 2: a lot of people because they listen. Then for all
- 23:25Speaker 2: the marketing, Batman will not be in the show. He
- 23:27Speaker 2: will not make an appearance. And they and they and
- 23:28Speaker 2: they hold and they held on to that. But with
- 23:32Speaker 2: this movie, it's like, what's the overarching story?
- 23:36Speaker 3: Where? Okay? Where did where?
- 23:37Speaker 2: Where has? Where have we gone? Because key mind, this
- 23:40Speaker 2: is a you can argue a fourth season or a
- 23:43Speaker 2: fourth uh production if you will, of a certain character
- 23:49Speaker 2: that everyone loves, and you're now in your fourth and
- 23:52Speaker 2: not production installment and the third season. While a lot
- 23:57Speaker 2: of people had their criticisms and stuff like that, I'm like,
- 24:01Speaker 2: if anything other than the way the second season ended,
- 24:03Speaker 2: there is so much more you can explore, and a
- 24:05Speaker 2: problem with me, the one thing I had was they
- 24:07Speaker 2: and this is the second they really didn't explore that.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Actually I had three problems with the film. The third
- 24:11Speaker 2: one a second third season ends. What happens he helps
- 24:17Speaker 2: restore mandalor Mandolor is now a thing, well rebuild.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Throughout this entire.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Movie, there's no other Mandalors are mentioned of that, and
- 24:28Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't get that at all, not saying
- 24:32Speaker 2: like that he could, like someone could have called the
- 24:34Speaker 2: other Mandalorians to help him in the middle of the part,
- 24:36Speaker 2: not saying that, but it's just like, really, like if
- 24:41Speaker 2: not a single of the mandalor the whole galaxies can't
- 24:43Speaker 2: come across, not one, Okay, it's a little sus especially
- 24:47Speaker 2: with everything that was going, especially with like how it was,
- 24:49Speaker 2: you know, they were beginning to rebuild and restore the planet.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I was just like, hmm, okay, that to me, I
- 24:53Speaker 2: was just like, hmm, really, no faull up on that.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I mean, I honestly don't even know if they mentioned
- 24:57Speaker 2: I really couldn't tell you.
- 25:00Speaker 3: So that happened.
- 25:04Speaker 2: My third criticism was, and I know I've heard a
- 25:06Speaker 2: lot of people complain.
- 25:07Speaker 3: About this, and I agree.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Let's say the second beat, Yeah, second beat was essentially,
- 25:17Speaker 2: he's supposed to go to this planet, save job of
- 25:20Speaker 2: the huts Sun, bring him back to Java or Jaba's
- 25:24Speaker 2: son's and an uncle Roda that's his son's name, Rata's
- 25:26Speaker 2: and an uncle, and they'll tell him where this empire
- 25:30Speaker 2: warlord is. And when he saves Rada from this guy
- 25:38Speaker 2: is such this guy who owns his life because of
- 25:40Speaker 2: like some contractor death thing whatever it was.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Came at the top of my head.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Rod is like that's the guy, and it's like okay,
- 25:48Speaker 2: and then you're thinking, okay, maybe is.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Rada just playing him? Is there like a twist? No,
- 25:53Speaker 3: one hundred percent.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Correct the guy that so it's they like they leave
- 25:57Speaker 2: the planet, Mandel saves the day, and then they just
- 26:00Speaker 2: turn right back around to go get the guy, and
- 26:02Speaker 2: it's just like, oh, okay, that was weird. It just
- 26:06Speaker 2: felt like one of those scenes was just like really
- 26:08Speaker 2: like that couldn't have been addressed at any different point
- 26:10Speaker 2: or like, I'm not gonna say it was kind of
- 26:12Speaker 2: obvious that he was the guy, but it just you
- 26:15Speaker 2: got the in claning like maybe.
- 26:16Speaker 3: This guy might be the guy I don't know, and that.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Was the one thing I had. I'm just like, I
- 26:24Speaker 2: feel like that could have been done a little bit. Again,
- 26:26Speaker 2: I'm not the person riding the movie. I'm not the
- 26:27Speaker 2: person directing, as the person producing. I'm in this chair
- 26:30Speaker 2: talking about it's the way it is. But all those
- 26:34Speaker 2: three issues, I loved it. Why this is something that
- 26:39Speaker 2: a person I work with who i'm they're not like,
- 26:41Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say they don't like Star Wars or
- 26:44Speaker 2: they don't they don't not like Star Wars, but they're like, okay,
- 26:48Speaker 2: they literally said, tell me why I should go see
- 26:50Speaker 2: this movie in theaters when it's literally and as I said,
- 26:54Speaker 2: they don't follow film things like I do. They're not
- 26:56Speaker 2: a big film fan like I am. They're not really
- 26:57Speaker 2: a big TV person like I am. But their person
- 27:00Speaker 2: who said who when they go see a movie they
- 27:02Speaker 2: want their money to be hear. They want the money
- 27:04Speaker 2: that the movie, theater or the studio is getting to
- 27:07Speaker 2: be earned. Is this movie worth paying the fifteen or
- 27:10Speaker 2: fifteen to twenty bucks for?
- 27:11Speaker 3: Am? I guess like, why here it is? Don't go it?
- 27:14Speaker 2: And I said, don't go into it. I think it's
- 27:16Speaker 2: this giant, overarching story.
- 27:17Speaker 3: They need to know everything. It's literally and at least
- 27:19Speaker 3: I just.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Hear classic eighties kick ass action movie and they're like,
- 27:24Speaker 2: that's all I needed to hear. And they went and
- 27:26Speaker 2: they're like, you're one hundred percent right, that's all you needed.
- 27:30Speaker 2: And again it was good action, good we saw. We
- 27:32Speaker 2: saw us on the giant big screen, which with like
- 27:35Speaker 2: the big movie chair, not like a forty theater, which I'm.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I'm glad we didn't do that.
- 27:39Speaker 2: But sometimes that's all movies need to be. They don't
- 27:43Speaker 2: need to be this thing that has an overarching giant story.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, it's nice, they'd be great, but it's
- 27:51Speaker 2: like sometimes less is more. The problem is everyone wants
- 27:56Speaker 2: the The problem is everyone wants the more, but when
- 27:58Speaker 2: they get the more, they're like, why why didn't you
- 27:59Speaker 2: get me more? It's like, I'm not gonna give you. Okay,
- 28:02Speaker 2: I'm not gonna give you. Avengers Endgame is the second
- 28:05Speaker 2: or third movie I'm gonna getchoose the twentieth or was
- 28:08Speaker 2: it nineteenth or twentieth that's when you should do that
- 28:12Speaker 2: and and that, and again I just think it's one
- 28:14Speaker 2: of those things where I'm not saying they kind of
- 28:15Speaker 2: set themselves fun failiar, but it's just like it's been
- 28:17Speaker 2: almost seven years, the marketing for this movie has been
- 28:21Speaker 2: a little bit questionable by all accounts, I can't remember.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I think it's one of the one of the a
- 28:28Speaker 2: show I frequently watch, they discuss how, for example, like
- 28:33Speaker 2: Fandango that ticketing for like movie tickets website and stuff
- 28:36Speaker 2: like that, they did like a survey like what are
- 28:39Speaker 2: the movies you're the most excited for this year? And
- 28:42Speaker 2: I might be paraphrasing, I don't either Mandalorian was like
- 28:47Speaker 2: number nine or didn't even crack the top ten. And
- 28:50Speaker 2: that's what they talked about because some of the movies
- 28:51Speaker 2: I did crack the top ten. It's like, okay, Toby Storry.
- 28:53Speaker 3: No shocker there, Supergirl okay.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Which I mean that's a different story than movie's not
- 28:58Speaker 2: doing well unfortunately at all.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I haven't seen, so I came and.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Say, but then like, like for a Star Wars top ten,
- 29:04Speaker 2: that's concerning, and it's right because Star Wars is not
- 29:08Speaker 2: exactly seen in the best.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Limelighter right now.
- 29:11Speaker 2: The problem is, and I don't want Star Wars that no,
- 29:13Speaker 2: Star Wars isn't dead. The love is there. Mal was
- 29:19Speaker 2: a successful show which was watched by a lot of people.
- 29:22Speaker 2: According to reports, a lot of they're outside, uh you know,
- 29:28Speaker 2: productions contents. Perfect example, there wasn't it's is the week
- 29:33Speaker 2: after fourth of July, there was a report that came
- 29:36Speaker 2: out I think it was a couple of days ago
- 29:37Speaker 2: or last week, that Star Wars bellout Front two, a
- 29:40Speaker 2: game that came out nine years ago hasn't had an
- 29:42Speaker 2: update in six fucking years, is like the number fourth
- 29:46Speaker 2: most downloaded game I think in North America for PlayStation four. Now,
- 29:50Speaker 2: sure it's PlayStation four, but literally for a game that's
- 29:55Speaker 2: nine years old, had hit its peak in terms of
- 29:58Speaker 2: player count last May, a year ago after and or
- 30:05Speaker 2: now that's a year ago, and that was I believe
- 30:07Speaker 2: that was only by being able to check on like
- 30:09Speaker 2: computer systems PCs, because that you can easily track. With consoles,
- 30:13Speaker 2: it's not really that easy at track because you need
- 30:14Speaker 2: for them to release the numbers, or you need to
- 30:16Speaker 2: be really good at looking at stuff, which most people aren't.
- 30:19Speaker 3: And even the people who do release that information for
- 30:21Speaker 3: like consoles, they go it's an estiment the love and the.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Fire for it is still there. They just need to
- 30:29Speaker 2: figure out a way they need they need to release
- 30:32Speaker 2: something ticket people, And I think that's what this kind
- 30:34Speaker 2: of was. If anything, this was your appetizer, because that's
- 30:36Speaker 2: Star Wars Starfighter movies coming out next year. Next year
- 30:39Speaker 2: is a Star Wars fiftieth Birthday celebration. Thankfully, my wef.
- 30:42Speaker 3: And are going to that.
- 30:43Speaker 2: It's gonna be very fun. But like you have, again,
- 30:47Speaker 2: the passion is there for it. I just think, and
- 30:51Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's Marvel's fault. I just think people
- 30:53Speaker 2: see where Marvel has gone. They've had this giant, overarching
- 30:56Speaker 2: story and it's again it's it's it's we've been spoiled.
- 30:59Speaker 3: It is what it is.
- 31:00Speaker 2: We have had this overarching, gigantic story where for the
- 31:02Speaker 2: last twenty year, yeah, almost twenty years now, we've been
- 31:05Speaker 2: getting shown these shows or movies where it continues to
- 31:09Speaker 2: drive a certain story, not always in the best way,
- 31:13Speaker 2: but they have a pretty good track record, so much so,
- 31:15Speaker 2: not like where after Endgame it was a little iffy,
- 31:18Speaker 2: but they've kind of turned things around a little bit.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Like I mean, the New Spider movie comes out here
- 31:24Speaker 2: in a couple of weeks and it's already anticipated to
- 31:26Speaker 2: make it almost twenty million dollars. That's open a weekend.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I think what was the last two trailer? I know
- 31:31Speaker 2: for sure one of the trailers broke the all time
- 31:33Speaker 2: record viewing. It's like a Spider Man trailer beat Avengers.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Oh wait, let me track that.
- 31:40Speaker 2: A new Spider Man movie trailer beat Avengers trailer again,
- 31:46Speaker 2: just one character beat a whole army essentially, and like again,
- 31:48Speaker 2: it's if the passion for certain things is still there,
- 31:52Speaker 2: you just have to because I have a spider Man
- 31:54Speaker 2: has done a good job with Marvels in a god
- 31:56Speaker 2: job with Spider Man. You have to continue to give
- 31:58Speaker 2: your audience something that is work for them to invest in,
- 32:01Speaker 2: especially nowadays, especially with every like I'm not even getting
- 32:03Speaker 2: the poll political shit, but just how expensive things are. Yes,
- 32:07Speaker 2: right now, gas is down, Yes, groceries are down, but
- 32:10Speaker 2: everything is going up with you know AI And I'm
- 32:12Speaker 2: not gonna get the whole gigabyte drive thing.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Like we different podcasts.
- 32:15Speaker 2: For a different time, but you're having all these conversations
- 32:18Speaker 2: about like essentially, now is it is this thing I'm
- 32:21Speaker 2: buying worth it? It's no longer it's no people again,
- 32:27Speaker 2: us as the customers, the consumers, we have the what
- 32:29Speaker 2: we have of not even a voice, the voice. You
- 32:33Speaker 2: can spend millions and millions of dollars into something and go,
- 32:38Speaker 2: we know people are gonna buy it just because we
- 32:40Speaker 2: say so. It's like no, people now more than ever realize, hey,
- 32:44Speaker 2: if this thing doesn't essentially like this, if this thing
- 32:46Speaker 2: doesn't do well, they're gonna have to make a change
- 32:50Speaker 2: because they understand because eventually it's like, oh shit, the
- 32:54Speaker 2: audience isn't happy. We've lost money on this. We need
- 32:57Speaker 2: to make a change so that the next time we
- 32:58Speaker 2: do something, they come in and maybe we don't make
- 33:02Speaker 2: as much money as we hope, but we get back
- 33:04Speaker 2: in their good graces. So then we make a thing
- 33:06Speaker 2: after that and a kicks ass.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Then we're gonna get all of the all of the
- 33:09Speaker 3: money only money that was right.
- 33:15Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens with that. I'm excited for Starfighter,
- 33:17Speaker 2: I'm excited for celebration, I'm.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Excited for all of it. But I do think it
- 33:23Speaker 3: was that, you know, it was that.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Warm up, like hey, like hey, just reminding you we're here,
- 33:28Speaker 2: star I was here like next, like next, year Ahsoka
- 33:30Speaker 2: comes out. Uh, obviously Starfighter and I think there's another
- 33:33Speaker 2: show care at the top of my head. So anyway, yeah,
- 33:37Speaker 2: either way, I enjoyed the movie. I thought it was fun.
- 33:43Speaker 2: But do I understand the criticisms, not just amongst critics
- 33:48Speaker 2: but the audience, Like the three I just said, those
