- 0:10May 15th heart Check. Living beyond appearances Here's
- 0:14a question worth sitting with for a moment.
- 0:16How often do you perform for an audience that isn't there?
- 0:19You craft a post just right. You choose your words carefully
- 0:23in a group so you come across a certain way.
- 0:26You tell yourself you're doing OK because from the outside
- 0:29things look fine. We spend so much energy managing
- 0:33how we appear to others and sometimes even to ourselves,
- 0:37that we forget someone sees past all of it completely.
- 0:41Proverbs chapter 16 verse 2 says all the ways of a man are pure
- 0:45in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.
- 0:49That's a sobering verse because it's describing something we all
- 0:53do. Convince ourselves we're fine,
- 0:56Justify our choices, see ourselves through the most
- 0:59flattering possible lens. And the verse doesn't say that
- 1:02to shame us. It says it to wake us up.
- 1:06Because God doesn't see the polished version we present.
- 1:09He sees the actual condition of our hearts, and that matters
- 1:13infinitely more. But here's the grace in that
- 1:16truth. God seeing your heart fully
- 1:18isn't a reason to panic. It's actually a reason to run to
- 1:21Him because He already knows everything and still invites you
- 1:25close. Psalm 54, verse one is that kind
- 1:28of prayer. Raw, unfiltered, desperate.
- 1:31Save me, oh God by your name, and vindicate me by your might.
- 1:35There's no pretending here, no dressing it up.
- 1:39Just a person who knows they need God and isn't too proud to
- 1:42say so. That kind of honesty before God
- 1:45is actually a sign of strength, not weakness.
- 1:48It's choosing reality over performance, and it's exactly
- 1:52the kind of prayer God responds to.
- 1:55Then Second Corinthians chapter 3, verse 6 add something
- 1:58powerful. But our sufficiency is from God,
- 2:01who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant.
- 2:06Your adequacy doesn't come from how well you manage your image.
- 2:10It doesn't come from keeping up appearances, getting the right
- 2:13grades, saying the right things, or being liked by the right
- 2:17people. It comes from God.
- 2:19He has made you competent. He has equipped you for what
- 2:22He's called you to, not because you've got it all together, but
- 2:26because He does. This matters so much, especially
- 2:30for young people navigating a world that is constantly
- 2:33evaluating and ranking everything.
- 2:35The pressure to measure up is relentless.
- 2:38And when you tie your sense of worth to how others perceive
- 2:41you, you'll be on a roller coaster that never stops because
- 2:45people's opinions shift constantly.
- 2:47But God's view of you doesn't fluctuate.
- 2:50He sees you truly, loves you completely, and equips you
- 2:54specifically for the life He's designed for you.
- 2:57So what would it look like to care more about what God sees in
- 3:00your heart than what others see on the surface?
- 3:04What would change if you brought your real self to God every day?
- 3:07The struggling parts, the uncertain parts, the parts you
- 3:10usually hide, and trusted Him to work with all of it.
- 3:15That's not an invitation to give up on doing well or being your
- 3:18best. It's an invitation to be honest,
- 3:21to stop performing and start living from a place of genuine
- 3:24relationship with God, where His strength fills in every gap your
- 3:28own ability can't cover. Let's pray.
- 3:32Heavenly Father, thank you for seeing me fully and loving me
- 3:35completely. Help me to stop hiding behind
- 3:38appearances and start coming to You with honesty about what's
- 3:41really going on in my heart, where I've been relying on my
- 3:45own perspective or chasing approval from others.
- 3:48Redirect me to You. I want to live from a place of
- 3:51genuine trust in your strength, not a performance of my own.
- 3:56Make me the person you've called me to be from the inside out, in
- 3:59Jesus name, Amen. What if the battles hitting your
- 4:03family are not random and your home can become a place where

- 5:11Proverbs Chapter 16 Verse 2 World English Bible All the ways
- 5:16of a man are clean in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the
- 5:18motives. Psalm Chapter 54 World English
- 5:22Bible Save me God, by your name vindicate me in your might.
- 5:27Hear my prayer, God, listen to the words of my mouth, for
- 5:31strangers have risen up against me.
- 5:33Violent men have sought after my soul.
- 5:35They haven't set God before them.
- 5:38Behold, God is my helper. The Lord is the one who sustains
- 5:42my soul. He will repay the evil to my
- 5:44enemies. Destroy them in your truth with
- 5:47a free will offering I will sacrifice to you.
- 5:50I will give thanks to your name Yahweh, for it is good, for He
- 5:54has delivered me out of all trouble.
- 5:56My eye has seen triumph over my enemies.
- 5:59Second Corinthians Chapter 3 World English Bible Are we
- 6:03beginning again to commend ourselves, or do we need as do
- 6:07some letters of commendation to you or from you?
- 6:11You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by
- 6:14all men, being revealed that you are a letter of Christ served by
- 6:18us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living
- 6:21God, not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts
- 6:25of flesh. Such confidence we have through
- 6:28Christ toward God, not that we are sufficient of ourselves to
- 6:32account anything as from ourselves, but our sufficiency
- 6:36is from God, who also made us sufficient as servants of a new
- 6:40covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit.
- 6:44For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
- 6:48But if the service of death written, engraved on stones,
- 6:51came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not
- 6:54look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face,
- 6:59which was passing away, won't service of the Spirit be with
- 7:02much more glory? For if the service of
- 7:05condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds
- 7:09much more in glory. For most certainly that which
- 7:13has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this
- 7:15respect by reason of the glory that surpasses.
- 7:20For if that which passes away was with glory, much more that
- 7:23which remains is in glory. Having therefore such a hope, we
- 7:27use great boldness of speech, and not as Moses who put a veil
- 7:31on his face, that the children of Israel wouldn't look
- 7:35steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away, but
- 7:39their minds were hardened. For until this very day, at the
- 7:43reading of the old covenant, the same veil remains, because in
- 7:46Christ it passes away. But to this day, when Moses is
- 7:51red, a veil lies on their heart. But whenever someone turns to
- 7:55the Lord, the veil is taken away.
- 7:58Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
- 8:01there is liberty. But we all with unveiled face,
- 8:05seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed
- 8:08into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord
- 8:12the Spirit. Thanks for joining us on Bible
