- 1:40Speaker 5: Right, yes, absolutely, I'm so proud of my department for
- 1:42Speaker 5: being involved in this toy drive. We get donated toys
- 1:47Speaker 5: by the thousands, and we are so proud to be
- 1:50Speaker 5: able to do that, and just to put a smile
- 1:53Speaker 5: on a kid's face is the best thing that we
- 1:54Speaker 5: could ever do.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Absolutely, and those are all donated by the community, right absolutely.
- 1:59Speaker 5: Yes, our officers go out, they seek the donations. People

- 2:39Speaker 3: have gone away, the sirens are starting to die down
- 2:41Speaker 3: just a little bit. Astorgatto has rolled up in front
- 2:45Speaker 3: of us. And what of their really nice automobiles.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Wow, I'd like to be driving that right now, Chris.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Okay, So here we come with the Clay Center and
- 2:53Speaker 3: how the Grinch stove Christmas on December nineteenth and twentieth.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Tickets are on sale now, and there's the grit.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Here is the Grinch. He's actually the star of our
- 3:03Speaker 2: commercial for the parade.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Even though he's the Grinch, he's tossing out candy. I
- 3:06Speaker 3: appreciate that his.

- 3:17Speaker 3: So Charleston Fire Department. Okay, I know a lot of
- 3:20Speaker 3: the fire departments in the valley are part of this event,
- 3:22Speaker 3: but this is the Charleston Fire Department, and I figure
- 3:25Speaker 3: their units will be throughout the uh, throughout the parade.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I would think. So this is track four sixty one, I.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Believe looks like one of their aerial ladder trucks going
- 3:35Speaker 3: by here, and then several more emergency vehicles in the
- 3:39Speaker 3: in the back there. We mentioned the fact that our
- 3:42Speaker 3: broadcast this evening it includes Steve Bishop, who is over
- 3:45Speaker 3: on Holly Jolly Brawley. Steve, I know that the parade
- 3:47Speaker 3: has not gotten to you yet, but to kind of
- 3:50Speaker 3: set the scene over there, it's it's a packed house
- 3:52Speaker 3: for folks along the side of the road.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Is it like that?
- 3:54Speaker 3: Over there?
- 3:55Speaker 6: It's anticipation of what's to come, that's.
- 3:58Speaker 3: For sure, and I love it.
- 4:00Speaker 7: All the folks are bundled up here. I see a
- 4:02Speaker 7: lot of parents with with like uh wagons of wagons
- 4:08Speaker 7: of children being wheeled by me.
- 4:09Speaker 6: Right now, and they're all bundled up. And you know
- 4:12Speaker 6: the other thing that I noticed.
- 4:14Speaker 7: That there's a lot of dogs here tonight, and I'm well,
- 4:17Speaker 7: they're they're with their owners. But but people bring I
- 4:20Speaker 7: didn't know that was really a thing. Bring your dog
- 4:22Speaker 7: to the parade.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Night and decorate him.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Yeah, well, what's your Steve?
- 4:26Speaker 8: Be sure to warn those those parents that have children
- 4:29Speaker 8: and dogs over there that the granch is on the
- 4:31Speaker 8: way and he's not too far away, so they may
- 4:34Speaker 8: want to prepare for that.
- 4:36Speaker 6: Now.
- 4:37Speaker 4: I'll tell you what I have.
- 4:38Speaker 6: I have a dog right next to me that has
- 4:40Speaker 6: clothes on.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Seriously, that's smart.
- 4:44Speaker 6: The dog has a shirt and pants on.
- 4:46Speaker 7: This is a greyhound, right, Yeah, it's a greyhound and
- 4:50Speaker 7: it has it seriously, has a pair of pants on
- 4:53Speaker 7: to keep warm.
- 4:54Speaker 6: And it seems to be all company.
- 4:56Speaker 7: Yeah, and it's waiting on the parade to get going
- 4:58Speaker 7: over here on Summer Street where I've.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Brought All right, all right, Steve, I don't need to

- 7:36Speaker 2: It looks like Halloween and like a Cruella movie. I
- 7:40Speaker 2: don't know.
- 7:42Speaker 3: They are. They are large, stick like yeah, Ubbet's really
- 7:46Speaker 3: and some folks are walking and operating them at the
- 7:50Speaker 3: same time.
- 7:50Speaker 8: Now, this looks like snuffle up Agus from Sesame Street
- 7:53Speaker 8: a little bit right, like the kind of the I

- 17:44Speaker 7: Yeah, going by, the Chief of Police just stopped by
- 17:47Speaker 7: and shaking hands with everybody. The I don't know the
- 17:50Speaker 7: motorcycles they were so blinding the lights on them. I
- 17:53Speaker 7: don't know whether they looked like they might be brand
- 17:55Speaker 7: new motorcycles that we have here in the town with
- 17:58Speaker 7: the Charleston Police.
- 17:59Speaker 6: But it's just lots of sirens and lots of lights.
- 18:02Speaker 7: And honestly, when I was a kid, that was my
- 18:05Speaker 7: favorite thing in the parade was to see the police
- 18:07Speaker 7: cars and the fire trucks and the ambulance. They just
- 18:11Speaker 7: put all the all the lights and sirens on it. Dude,
- 18:15Speaker 7: Charleston's big dew ladder truck is coming by you right now.
- 18:20Speaker 8: So we have the cabin creek out systems are going by, Steve.
- 18:24Speaker 8: So they just went by, gave out some candy.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Very nice as Torgado with the Grinch.
- 18:30Speaker 7: Now, how many grinches will we have in the parade tonight.
- 18:32Speaker 7: That was seemed to be the theme a few years ago.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Well, I know that you will have a hand coming
- 18:38Speaker 4: here in a moment.
- 18:38Speaker 3: We talked about that.
- 18:40Speaker 6: Well, I'll be anticipating that.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Now.
- 18:44Speaker 3: This is pretty cool we got I think it's the
- 18:47Speaker 3: Polar Express. It is survefro Is put together a Polar
- 18:51Speaker 3: Express and we've got the conductor out and they're actually
- 18:54Speaker 3: making their own snow and it's working.
- 18:57Speaker 4: There is snow flying everywhere.
- 18:58Speaker 2: That is awesome.
- 19:00Speaker 4: That is pretty impressive, guys. Nice work.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I think they should place in the float contest for sure.
- 19:06Speaker 4: I'm sure that they will definitely give them a run
- 19:09Speaker 4: for their money.
- 19:09Speaker 7: They're serve pro.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Those are the guys you call when you've had a problem,
- 19:13Speaker 3: when when things have gone south. That's the people to

- 19:19Speaker 14: Oh, we've got the.
- 19:20Speaker 8: River City Youth Ballet Ensemble. And this reminds me of
- 19:26Speaker 8: like a kind of a Ebenezer Scrooge kind of.
- 19:30Speaker 4: That's a period of time.
- 19:32Speaker 8: Yeah, but the tall hats and the way that the
- 19:38Speaker 8: group is dressed.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Pickering associates rolling by and riding the shotgun is the grene. Yeah,
- 19:46Speaker 3: and they've got some dancers coming by.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Hey, how are you easy?
- 19:51Speaker 3: Yeah, they're all dressed in the period dress up. You're right,
- 19:54Speaker 3: the Ebenezer Scrooch. Yeah, you can't think of what would
- 19:57Speaker 3: be Oh.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I'm not sure it was a minute ago for sure. Yes,
- 20:08Speaker 2: it looks like that.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Man, I would if I did that kind of dancing,
- 20:11Speaker 3: I would break both my ankles in the first five minutes.
- 20:13Speaker 2: They're very good, and they have heels on no less.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Some of them.
- 20:19Speaker 8: They look like they're ready for visits from the ghosts

- 21:32Speaker 3: share you mentioned is Lee Rabol Pride in West Virginia.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Yeah, she's amazing. By the way, she looks so much
- 21:39Speaker 2: like shares.
- 21:41Speaker 7: Pretty cool if that's the same share that I know
- 21:45Speaker 7: share Share entered that looked alike contest that D one
- 21:48Speaker 7: hundred had oh back in the nineties at some point,
- 21:51Speaker 7: and uh and won the contest.

- 30:05Speaker 4: On the radio.
- 30:05Speaker 6: He doesn't matter.
- 30:06Speaker 7: And he went to the judge's table and unloaded a
- 30:09Speaker 7: whole bucket of candy on them, like, I want you
- 30:12Speaker 7: to make sure that.
- 30:15Speaker 6: You notice who I am and.

- 30:30Speaker 6: Maybe they run out.
- 30:35Speaker 2: By the time.
- 30:35Speaker 4: That's the firing rescue that you're hearing.
- 30:38Speaker 3: That is the Sissonville Fire Department, and that's engine free
- 30:43Speaker 3: that is in the parade. And they just hit us
- 30:45Speaker 3: with a searchlight. They didn't they I am blinded by
- 30:52Speaker 3: the search light. Indeed, they turned it on and lit
- 30:56Speaker 3: us up as they rolled by.
- 30:58Speaker 6: Max.

- 31:09Speaker 3: There comes to Kanawa County four h clubs as they

- 44:45Speaker 12: let me just go ahead and say, she's so young.
- 44:47Speaker 18: I thought that when the kids asked me to dance,
- 44:51Speaker 18: I thought, well.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Of course you would.
- 44:53Speaker 12: I mean, I played basketball through school, played volleyball.

- 45:02Speaker 8: Thing I've ever done in my entire lesson, and you
- 45:04Speaker 8: have to do it down the street in freezing cold weather.
- 45:07Speaker 18: I mean to tell you, but here's the thing. This
- 45:10Speaker 18: is what I absolutely love about our city. This is
- 45:12Speaker 18: what I love about the kids in our city. They
- 45:14Speaker 18: were so spirited. They everything that you saw on us,
- 45:18Speaker 18: including the crown. I'm still hearing it's homemade. They made
- 45:22Speaker 18: it all. They made our costume, they made our head dresses.
- 45:25Speaker 18: They loved it. I loved it, and I don't tell kids.
- 45:29Speaker 8: No.
- 45:29Speaker 12: This is not to say, if the kid is listening,
- 45:31Speaker 12: I will do it next year.
- 45:34Speaker 3: A couple of questions, how long did it take you
- 45:36Speaker 3: to get dolled up for this thing?
- 45:39Speaker 18: I have never worn fake eyelashes a day in my life,
- 45:43Speaker 18: but I didn't much.
- 45:45Speaker 12: I don't know what you're talking aboubout.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Maybe the sparkles.
- 45:47Speaker 8: You may.
- 45:50Speaker 12: It's amazing. It's fun. I mean, it was fun and
- 45:53Speaker 12: it is what they wanted.
- 45:54Speaker 18: And I said, whatever you want me to do is
- 45:56Speaker 18: exactly what I will do now.
- 45:58Speaker 12: Lifting me up and putting me on your shoulder. I
- 46:01Speaker 12: didn't know that I was gonna.
- 46:03Speaker 18: Have to do that, but I did it.
- 46:06Speaker 12: More than a dozen times.
- 46:07Speaker 18: Really, the lift the dance we did probably twenty times.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Play Wow, Well, at least when you were doing that,
- 46:15Speaker 3: you didn't have to.
- 46:15Speaker 18: Walk well, Chris looked for the whole song accentuate the positive.
- 46:25Speaker 2: That's where we're now. You're ready for dancing with the stars?
- 46:28Speaker 18: It absolutely well, I'm gonna have to rest hydrate for
- 46:33Speaker 18: but the floats have been amazing. The crowds have been amazing. Listen,
- 46:37Speaker 18: mother Nature, she gave us a cold a cold kiss
- 46:42Speaker 18: this afternoon. But if you look around, every single place from.
- 46:47Speaker 12: Capital to Washington to Summers all the way back to
- 46:51Speaker 12: the boulevard is packed.
- 46:53Speaker 18: And what I love to see packed with children having
- 46:55Speaker 18: a really good time.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been great.
- 46:58Speaker 3: I'll tell you what mayor ever since you decided that
- 47:01Speaker 3: this should be a nighttime event in the middle of
- 47:03Speaker 3: the week, I still think that was one of the
- 47:05Speaker 3: best decisions that's been made. Well, it's so many more
- 47:09Speaker 3: people come out for this.
- 47:10Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 47:11Speaker 18: Well, when it was on Saturday at ten thirty in
- 47:14Speaker 18: the morning, what the downtown business has said to me
- 47:16Speaker 18: was maybe we could do it at a different time.
- 47:19Speaker 18: And then it was like, well, wait a minute, what
- 47:21Speaker 18: I'm a daughter of a.
- 47:22Speaker 12: Small business owner. When do you want business.
- 47:24Speaker 18: Well in the week when you're open, right, you know
- 47:26Speaker 18: at that, especially for restaurants, right, like, give me.
- 47:30Speaker 12: My dinner crowd.
- 47:30Speaker 18: And so we met with the downtown businesses and they
- 47:34Speaker 18: said we would love to do it, And to this day,
- 47:37Speaker 18: since we started the evening parade, they say it is
- 47:40Speaker 18: their number one or number two busiest night of the
- 47:44Speaker 18: whole year.
- 47:44Speaker 4: I don't doubt that that is music.
- 47:46Speaker 12: That is music to my ear.
- 47:47Speaker 18: So go try to get a soda pop downtown.
- 47:50Speaker 12: You can get one right now. Yeah, but that's what
- 47:52Speaker 12: makes it so fun.
- 47:54Speaker 18: Everybody brings their chairs and their blankets. There's so many
- 47:57Speaker 18: wonderful vendors who were here and so we absolutely just.
- 48:00Speaker 12: We love it.
- 48:01Speaker 3: And there's candy everywhere. But I have I've seen this.
- 48:04Speaker 3: I've witnessed this. As we're tearing down the set here
- 48:06Speaker 3: after the parade's over, your street, guys are out here,
- 48:09Speaker 3: this thing is around.
- 48:10Speaker 4: This thing's cleaned up within thirty minutes.
- 48:12Speaker 18: So let me tell you something the second they step off,
- 48:14Speaker 18: because my first year doing this at night, I literally
- 48:17Speaker 18: stayed till the last person went home because I was

- 48:22Speaker 12: We got business is to open in the morning.
- 48:24Speaker 18: We want people to get to work, and the second

- 53:26Speaker 4: Oh, there you go.
- 53:27Speaker 2: So that one was pretty cool, wasn't it.
- 53:29Speaker 6: This is just not what you want at Christmas time.
- 53:32Speaker 4: Well, those are the guys that are sponsoring our broadcast.
- 53:34Speaker 3: That's wherever found waters Hoars.
- 53:36Speaker 7: Oh it is I see now on the vehicle. That's
- 53:39Speaker 7: who that is.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Alliance.
- 53:43Speaker 3: So this is this is the FC Alliance and they've
- 53:47Speaker 3: been around since twenty fourteen to bring the high level
- 53:51Speaker 3: of soccer to Charleston, West Virginia. And I'm I'm assuming
- 53:56Speaker 3: that all these guys behind them are soccer players. Thank you, buddy,
- 53:59Speaker 3: I appreciate that he threw me some candy. Don't give
- 54:01Speaker 3: it away.
- 54:05Speaker 6: The one thing consistent that I noticed is lots of.
- 54:08Speaker 7: Smiles over here, and people are enjoying the parade. I mean,
- 54:12Speaker 7: who doesn't like a parade? Who really doesn't like a parade?
- 54:15Speaker 7: The h I got some guys playing the bongos as
- 54:19Speaker 7: they go by me.
- 54:22Speaker 6: That'll keep your hands warm. Hey, folks, for you listening.
- 54:25Speaker 7: That's the only thing on me that's cold, and that's
- 54:28Speaker 7: actually better than it was. But it's kind of chilly
- 54:32Speaker 7: out here tonight, but I think we've had colder parades.
- 54:34Speaker 6: I really knew what Chris said. He was he was
- 54:36Speaker 6: so warm last year, he was slating.
- 54:38Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 54:39Speaker 4: I didn't know where a coat last year.
- 54:41Speaker 3: I'll take your word for it.
- 54:43Speaker 4: It was not cold last year, but now it is
- 54:45Speaker 4: chili this year.
- 54:45Speaker 3: For sure.
- 54:46Speaker 6: You just never know what you're gonna get. That's for sure.
- 54:49Speaker 6: But it was lucky with the snow holding off.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Yeah, the one year they put it off because it
- 54:56Speaker 3: was gonna be really bad and uh and that's that's
- 55:00Speaker 3: what they did. So they got postponed one year, never
- 55:02Speaker 3: been canceled. So hi there, how are you in the
- 55:07Speaker 3: parade having a good time? Another soccer group going by,
- 55:15Speaker 3: the West Virginia Football Club and that's f ut as
- 55:21Speaker 3: the soccer soccer guys continue going by, and.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Hey, I'm always.
- 55:26Speaker 6: Over the go ahead.
- 55:28Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I was gonna.
- 55:30Speaker 3: Say, I'm always I'm amazed at how much I'm always
- 55:33Speaker 3: amazed at how popular soccer has become from what it was.
- 55:36Speaker 4: When I was a kid. I mean I was growing
- 55:38Speaker 4: up and nobody played it.
- 55:40Speaker 7: It was when we were a kid's soccer was the
- 55:42Speaker 7: sport nobody was gonna dare play.
- 55:45Speaker 6: But no, it was number one, nobody knew how and.
- 55:47Speaker 7: Number two they didn't understand it and they and it
- 55:50Speaker 7: was like, that's just not a game we do.
- 55:53Speaker 3: So I remember watching soccer on the case.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Now, I remember.
- 55:58Speaker 3: Watching soccer on PBS on Saturday afternoon and not having
- 56:02Speaker 3: a clue what I was watching. They were there was
- 56:04Speaker 3: all those World Cup leagues Back in the day. I
- 56:07Speaker 3: had no idea what I was watching.
- 56:08Speaker 4: But boys, I still.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Don't understand it. A whole loss come.
- 56:11Speaker 4: A long way, though it's extremely popular.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Yeah, the good folks at offered pest control rolling by
- 56:17Speaker 3: right now the Grinch.
- 56:20Speaker 4: I don't worry about the Grinch.
- 56:22Speaker 3: They say he's not his best behavior tonight and ready
- 56:26Speaker 3: to spread some holiday cheer.
- 56:28Speaker 4: Grinches in the truck, so don't worry about it.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Oh, thank you so much.
- 56:37Speaker 3: You just get lots of Yeah, I believe that was
- 56:39Speaker 3: I believe that was Hold Steel Company, right. Yeah, And

- 57:02Speaker 7: Hey, I do feel like I'm in the Macy's parade
- 57:05Speaker 7: now or at the Macy's parade, because I've got a

- 57:10Speaker 3: All right.
- 57:12Speaker 7: I can't see who's who it's with, but oh, it's
- 57:15Speaker 7: Wide Insurance. Now, I see that Rudolph is kind of
- 57:18Speaker 7: towering over everything as it comes by. That's Rudolph got
- 57:24Speaker 7: some fans too. Oh, in Rudolph's got canned Christmas.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Family Care Health centers, miles of smiles. They've got their

- 57:37Speaker 3: an r V. Yeah, don't you go falling in love
- 57:40Speaker 3: with it, because we're taking it with us when we

- 57:45Speaker 3: like they missed a little bit of an opportunity to
- 57:47Speaker 3: have really had some fun there.
- 57:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Right, what a valuable service that that they provide the

- 58:44Speaker 4: That thing's beautiful.
- 58:44Speaker 2: It's amazing. Some of these vintage vehicles. How hot Rod's.
- 58:48Speaker 3: Coming over here too. Yeah, the Clean Thennon Fire Department.

- 1:00:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: In fact, it's their tenth anniversary this year, okay, and
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: it will be uh yes, each March in Charleston. They
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: bring the community together sharing Celtic heritage through music, dance,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: and cultural events.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: It's a great event if you've never been to it.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: And they've got so many different things going on in
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: the in the city.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: It's it's an awesome Let's say hello to the DuPont
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: Middle School cheerleaders rolling by.
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: I'm laughing because the mayor has now come over and
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: joined me.
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: And the mayor just came over and just it's ready to.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: So much energy. How did you get over there so quick?
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: Well, that's what I was laughing about. Here had that microphone.
- 1:01:17Speaker 7: The mayor just kind of came over and started drooping
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: like a flower.
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: That needed water.
- 1:01:21Speaker 12: I have no idea what you're talking about. Where's my chair,
- 1:01:25Speaker 12: where's my where's my foot?
- 1:01:27Speaker 8: Back?
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: Well here, diva, yeah, right, have a have a.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Well, you know what.
- 1:01:33Speaker 18: As as we were rounding this last corner with I
- 1:01:36Speaker 18: was dancing with the Capitol High School Dance Troupe, I
- 1:01:41Speaker 18: said to them, Okay, guys, we're almost there. And I
- 1:01:44Speaker 18: was saying it basically to myself, because we did the
- 1:01:48Speaker 18: routine like twenty five times.
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: You did the well, I was a very pressed.
- 1:01:54Speaker 18: It was so fun and I was so thrilled that
- 1:01:56Speaker 18: the Capitol High School kiddos asked me to dance with them,
- 1:02:00Speaker 18: and so I just it was just so great. It
- 1:02:03Speaker 18: was so wonderful, a wonderful opportunity. And they're just such
- 1:02:07Speaker 18: great kids.
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: They are, And you know what you've done well by
- 1:02:12Speaker 7: I know you were talking to Chris and Lisa about
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: moving the parade to a nighttime parade.
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: This is great. It really is. Smiles on all the faces.
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: Little doggies out here too tonight, I thought children riding
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: in wagons.
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: No, I'm just loving it.
- 1:02:26Speaker 18: Well, this is what Charleston is all about. You're looking
- 1:02:29Speaker 18: at what Charleston is all about. We're a wonderful connected
- 1:02:34Speaker 18: community who cares about one another.
- 1:02:37Speaker 12: And that's what you see tonight.
- 1:02:39Speaker 18: Our businesses are packed, our families are out here together,
- 1:02:43Speaker 18: lots of laughing, lots of laughing, and you know, mother nature.
- 1:02:48Speaker 18: I thought, oh boy, it's chilly, but you know what,
- 1:02:50Speaker 18: after you're out here for a little bit a warm
- 1:02:52Speaker 18: cup of cocoa.
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: It's fine, Hey, Chris, I don't mean to steal a
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: show from you.
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: But the mayor's all right.
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: I thought I would chat with her if she's sticking around,
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: I'll ask her about the Christmas trees. But you guys
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: might want to tell us what's going on over there
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: right now.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: Well, we just had the Jefferson Fire Department rolled by
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: and I had to turn it down because that siren
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: was drowning out the mayor. So we killed the microphone
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: for a moment to give the mayor the air. So,
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: and Lisa has Lisa has gone through some kind of
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: a transformation here. Her tensil got tied up in her headphones,
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: and you were having a situation there.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: It looked like I had.
- 1:03:28Speaker 8: A little Well what happened, was, Chris, when the cheerleaders
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: went by them through candy, they spilled in my hot
- 1:03:33Speaker 8: cocoa on my notes, so I had hot cocoa fly everywhere.
- 1:03:37Speaker 8: Then I was trying to get that cleaned up. Papers
- 1:03:39Speaker 8: went in the wind and then my tensil.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Got in a tangle. It was just a it was
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: just a little tensil in a tangle incident. I apologize.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: I like that. That almost sounds like that almost sounds
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: like a great name for a band, Tangled Tensil. It
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: was all right, is the mayor still with you, Steve
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: Or as she moved.
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: On, Well she dumped me. She's gone. Okay now, I said, okay,
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: I was gonna.
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: I think she probably needs to go to relax and
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: sit down because she looks, you know something, She is
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: so energetic.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: But I think she might just be a little tired
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: right now. That out. I don't think she's ready to
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: go home yet.
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: I wonder what was I kept feeling something tickling my
- 1:04:21Speaker 7: head and it was her. That thing she had on,
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: that head dress she had on with the Capital Dance team.
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: She was bending over and it was hitting the top
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: of my head. I thought, what is that? And it
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: was just it was her.
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: I wanted her to stick around and talk about the
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: Christmas trees over here, but because I know that that's
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: something she's proud of too.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: That the.
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: Holly Jolly Brawley, Yes she did, are something you guys
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: listening ought to come see if you've not been down here,
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: because I'm amazed by the talented people that we have
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: in town. Here that put all this together, and the
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: people that decorated the trees, they're amazing, leaving pretty just great.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: So, Steve, we just came across Jared Page.
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: He's running for office here in Charleston, and you want
- 1:05:11Speaker 8: tell us a little bit about that, Jared, Yes.

- 1:06:01Speaker 3: shelter on their float like that, Do.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: They look like they're ready for Christmas morning.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: They do, indeed, and their message, of course is being
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: helping home and be a foster parents, and certainly we
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: need as many of those as we can get in
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: West Virginia.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Absolutely do.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Hey guys, all right, here comes one of my favorite
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: places to go in Charleston, the Capital Market, rolling up
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: with a vintage flatbed with a bunch of Christmas trees
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: on the back. Do they come decorated like that? If
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: you buy a tree at the market, do you get
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: that they come decorated?
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: I think they do. That's the case.
- 1:06:39Speaker 8: I want two of them. That's the hardest part of Christmas.
- 1:06:42Speaker 8: Get those Christmas trees decorated.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: French Creek Farms.
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: I said, I said it was a vintage truck. I
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: shouldn't have said that. It's not a vintage truck.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: It looked like it from the front. That a little
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: bit where you thought that?
- 1:06:59Speaker 8: All right?

- 1:07:58Speaker 3: Brawley on Summers Street, and here comes the Charleston Light
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: Opera Guild. The official musical theater of West Virginia, was
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: Anna and the cast of Frozen in tonight's parade, and
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: they will be the first theater group in West Virginia
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: to present the full length musical adaptation at the Clay
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: Center in February of Frozen.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: Steve, you got somebody over there.
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: Well, I'm just talking to folks, and I don't know
- 1:08:27Speaker 7: if I was this something you were passing out in
- 1:08:30Speaker 7: the parade. Oh yeah, okay, all right, I assure you
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: surely not. It's I was gifted with a tiny bottle
- 1:08:40Speaker 7: of fireball. Maybe because I was talking about it being
- 1:08:43Speaker 7: chilly out here.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: Well that'll that'll change things.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: That'll definitely warm you up.
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: All right, I do, I do want to bring something
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: up here.
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: So the Warner Law Offices was this something tell tell.
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: Everybody what you did.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: So we came up with a with an idea.
- 1:09:02Speaker 21: We we give out about three tons of candy every year,
- 1:09:05Speaker 21: we feel like, and we thought, what would be better
- 1:09:08Speaker 21: than having golden tickets we have we hand out for
- 1:09:12Speaker 21: for you know, just a little Christmas cheer, and inside
- 1:09:16Speaker 21: that golden ticket basically it's a golden envelope. Yeah, there's
- 1:09:19Speaker 21: some cash in there. It's it's it's a it's a
- 1:09:22Speaker 21: great time here to get a little extra cash. And
- 1:09:25Speaker 21: uh we we look around and and Bobby uh did
- 1:09:28Speaker 21: a great job yesterday on Facebook and said, hey, if
- 1:09:31Speaker 21: you're excited about our float, and we had a DJ
- 1:09:33Speaker 21: and we had a lot of energy.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: We heard that.
- 1:09:37Speaker 21: There's a kid out there that that's really excited and
- 1:09:40Speaker 21: it's dressed up and it's just having fun.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: Well they might get a golden ticket.
- 1:09:44Speaker 21: So we gave out thirty of them tonight, and uh
- 1:09:47Speaker 21: and we saw some really really happy faces. And we
- 1:09:49Speaker 21: hope that inside of those envelopes with some Christmas cash,
- 1:09:53Speaker 21: and we hope it helps those families and and makes
