- 0:00Chapter 2 from the book of Isaiah.
- 0:03Dear God, please be with us and let the Holy Spirit give us
- 0:08wisdom, insight and application to our lives.
- 0:12Let your words that you inspire the prophet Isaiah to speak move
- 0:18us today in what we read. We ask for this in Jesus name,
- 0:24the mountain of the Lord. This is what Isaiah, son of Amos
- 0:27saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
- 0:32So this is really important because it tells us right away
- 0:36that he saw this regarding Judah and Jerusalem.
- 0:41And that is why there's so much focus on what's going on in the
- 0:45Middle East today because it is the core of the Bible, this and
- 0:53there's future prophecy that will occur in this area, Judah
- 1:00and Jerusalem. So in fact, this particular
- 1:04chapter tells us some things that will be in our future.
- 1:08And Isaiah was a prophet. Did he know what he was
- 1:12speaking? He was speaking this in the
- 1:15seven hundreds BC. So thousands of years before
- 1:19today, he was saying this. And yet as I read through this,
- 1:24we will see that there may have been, you know, some partial
- 1:29things that happened with this prophecy, but ultimately this is
- 1:33a prophecy yet to be fulfilled. So it in in its entirety, it has
- 1:40not been fulfilled, fulfilled yet.
- 1:42And I will point those out as we go through this.
- 1:44So this is future. This is for all of us that we
- 1:48could see this in the future. So let's go first.
- 1:53Two, it says in the last days the mountain of the Lord's
- 2:00temple will be established as the highest of the mountains.
- 2:05It will be exalted above the hills.
- 2:08All nations will stream to it. Now, I did a little bit of
- 2:13research on here through the Bible to look at where are
- 2:17mountains referenced and what is the symbolism.
- 2:21And I actually think I didn't finish it this morning because I
- 2:25got distracted, but I, I did. I saw enough of it.
- 2:29Are some of it at least, and I think I stopped where the the
- 2:34mountain that would be defeated is actually Babylon.
- 2:38So it's the mountain in the city of ER and it's it's, you know,
- 2:42it's really interesting too, because Abraham came from ER,
- 2:46which is in Iraq and Babylon, ancient Babylon is actually in
- 2:53the area of Iraq, just like Nineveh is.
- 2:58There's a lot of things that are in Iraq and I just find that
- 3:03very interesting. And there's this future mystery
- 3:07Babylon that, you know, most people do not think it's, it's
- 3:11Iraq. They think it's, it's a lot of
- 3:14different things. And they're all good theories.
- 3:18And we'll just have to wait and see.
- 3:21And perhaps Babylon is actually a spiritual entity that effects
- 3:27many different things. So maybe lots of different
- 3:30theories can all be right because it's a spirit that's
- 3:33going out and into the world. But it it kind of started back
- 3:38in that ancient land of Babylon, which is modern day Iraq.
- 3:44So none of us know. There's all this speculation,
- 3:48all this, all these theories. But the more I read the Bible,
- 3:52the more I lean towards Babylon or Mystery Babylon is a
- 3:57spiritual entity that affects all nations.
- 4:02And anyway, let's just go into the Word.
- 4:06So it does say that they, the Lord's temple will be
- 4:09established. We know there is going to be a
- 4:11third temple. And I always wondered that
- 4:15before reading the Bible. Well, I didn't even know about
- 4:17it, but when I heard about it, I wondered, does the Bible say
- 4:22that? And so yes, it, the Bible
- 4:24clearly says that in Ezekiel. And I did comparisons when I was
- 4:28looking into it to see the measurements and the size that
- 4:33are referenced in Ezekiel and whether those mirror what
- 4:39Solomon built or the rebuilding of that later.
- 4:44And they don't. So the first and the second
- 4:46temple don't match up with the measurements.
- 4:48So this is clearly 1/3 temple that has not yet been built, but
- 4:54will be built someday. All of the dimensions.
- 4:57I mean, there's just way too much detail that was given to
- 5:01Ezekiel, a prophet of God that talks about this, that, you
- 5:06know, it, it just, you know, it's, it's going to happen
- 5:10someday and we don't really know what it is.
- 5:13In fact, here's the other interesting part that it could
- 5:16happen in the very near future because there's an organization
- 5:20called the Temple Institute that currently has all the plans
- 5:23drawn up in accordance with Ezekiel, the book of Ezekiel.
- 5:28I mean, it's ready to go. All of the materials, all of the
- 5:31things that would be within the temple already, they're all
- 5:37there. They've accumulated them over
- 5:40the years, over thousands of years.
- 5:42These have been accumulated since the last temple.
- 5:45I guess it's been like a couple thousand years.
- 5:48The temple was destroyed in 70 AD, so almost a couple 1000
- 5:53years where we are today in 2025.
- 5:58So it's been quite a while. And there is one that will be
- 6:03built. So that's, that's very
- 6:05interesting, something to look forward to.
- 6:06So again, this says, you know, the Lord's temple will be
- 6:10established. So that that is going to happen.
- 6:13There's going to be a physical temple and it says many peoples
- 6:17will come and say, come, let us go up to the mountain of the
- 6:21Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob.
- 6:26Now this is interesting because a lot of Christians especially
- 6:29say, why is there going to be a temple?
- 6:32We don't need sacrifices because Jesus was the sacrifice that
- 6:37covered, you know, everything. And that is true, but it's the
- 6:43prophet. Isaiah tells us why.
- 6:45Why do these people come to the temple?
- 6:48Listen to this. He will teach us His ways so
- 6:54that we may walk in His paths. Now who is the He?
- 6:59He is going to teach? It's the Lord.
- 7:02Well, the Lord who is the Lord Jesus, Yeshua, when he returns,
- 7:07He is going to be ruling from Jerusalem.
- 7:10So again, this is in the seven hundreds BC when this was
- 7:15written or experienced or when Isaiah was prophesizing and he's
- 7:21talking about Jesus the Messiah, Yeshua.
- 7:25So this is again Old Testament scripture that talks about this
- 7:32future reign of Christ. The law will go out from Zion,
- 7:39the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
- 7:43Now the word of the Lord has multiple meanings because it
- 7:46could be the literal word of the Lord.
- 7:49And then in the Gospel of John, he refers to Jesus as the word
- 7:55of the Lord. So I think that's another point
- 7:59to make, that if you don't read the Old Testament with the New
- 8:02Testament, you miss out on things.
- 8:05So he will judge between the nations and will settle disputes
- 8:09for many peoples. So God the Father has given him
- 8:14authority to judge and to reign and, and so he will judge
- 8:23between the nations and will settle disputes for many people.
- 8:28So this is, we're not talking about eternity yet.
- 8:31This is kind of a transition between the life on earth that
- 8:34we know it right now and what it's going to be like in the
- 8:39future when Jesus reigns from Jerusalem for 1000 years and
- 8:44what people call the Millennium because it's 1000 years.
- 8:48They will beat their swords into plowshares and their Spears into
- 8:54pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword
- 8:58against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
- 9:03Have we ever seen this take place?
- 9:06Never, ever, ever have we had entire peace on earth where
- 9:12people did not fight, you know, fight against each other or
- 9:18train for that anymore. But it says we are going to be
- 9:22coming into a time when Jesus returns that you're not going to
- 9:27need your sword to go against nations anymore and you won't
- 9:31even need to train for it anymore.
- 9:32This is going to be a different time.
- 9:35And this is not yet eternity. There is, there is, there will
- 9:39still be. This is really interesting and
- 9:41that's this is a summation from other prophecies.
- 9:46There will be mortal and immortal people at the same
- 9:50time. In fact, the people who are
- 9:52going to be leading with Jesus will be the the the Christians,
- 9:57the believers whose heads were cut off in because of their
- 10:04faith in this earth right now. Like there are there are people
- 10:08who have been beheaded for their belief in Jesus.
- 10:10And like all of his disciples, they all, except I think John
- 10:15was the only one who didn't, but I think they all were killed for
- 10:19their belief. And so of course they're going
- 10:22to be reigning with Jesus. But there's probably going to be
- 10:25more people than that because there are other Christians who
- 10:27have been beheaded in the past and they will be reigning with
- 10:31Christ on this earth. But they will, you know,
- 10:34obviously when your head is no longer there, you're not living
- 10:36anymore. So they will be resurrected.
- 10:39They will receive their immortal bodies and be here on earth.
- 10:43But yet there are survivors who will after the the wrath of God
- 10:49comes, which happens before Jesus reigns.
- 10:53Like there is this purging that happens before Jesus begins his
- 10:58thousand year reign. So during that time there will
- 11:02be some survivors, but not many that go through the wrath of
- 11:06God. And but there are some because
- 11:10it does. Another prophet tells us that
- 11:12and so there, that means there are mortal people, people who
- 11:16can still die. And in fact, it says that, you
- 11:19know, they're going to, in another prophet's book, it says
- 11:23that people will be living on earth and they will, I, I think
- 11:26it's like if somebody lives to be 100, that'll be considered a
- 11:30really short life during this thousand year period.
- 11:35So lifespans will be extended once again the way they were in
- 11:42the beginning of the Bible. That was one of the first
- 11:44shocking things that I read when that I guess one of the first
- 11:48shocking facts that I read about in the Bible when they started
- 11:52talking about people living 609 hundred years and all it kind
- 11:56of, you know, there was this period of time where they didn't
- 12:00reach 1000 years, but I think that's because of sin.
- 12:03But they did reach like up to 900 something years old.
- 12:07A few people did. So that's, that's, I believe
- 12:11that's literal because it does. After that, it says that God
- 12:15shortened the lives because of the, the sin and the corruption
- 12:20and the tendencies of people to choose sin.
- 12:24And he, he made it shorter. So it's kind of interesting
- 12:28because I think that the 120 years that's referenced in
- 12:32Genesis about shortening to no more than 120 years, I think
- 12:36there's a lot of symbolism in that.
- 12:40There are some people who have a theory.
- 12:42I think it's like there's 120 fifty year jubilees.
- 12:47So if you take 120 * 50, that gives you that number that is
- 12:52going to be shortened to. So like 120 * 50 is 6000 years.
- 12:596000 years are allocated to human beings.
- 13:04And this matches up with what the ancient church father, if
- 13:07you want to call it church, the ancient, I guess, priest, what
- 13:12they believed, the ancient Christians, there's a lot of
- 13:17them that believe that, you know, mankind has 6000 years and
- 13:22then that that last 6000 to 7000 is going to be when Jesus reigns
- 13:27here on earth. And then after that, 7000 is
- 13:30eternity. Jesus turns everything over,
- 13:32back over to the Father. And, and there's not much at all
- 13:36about what that's going to be like.
- 13:39There's a lot of information about the Millennium reign, but
- 13:43not so much in fact, there's also a different differing
- 13:49opinions, maybe like some people.
- 13:54OK, so I believe that when the New Jerusalem comes out of
- 14:00heaven, that's when eternity begins, because it talks about
- 14:07Jerusalem being the size of like half of the United States, the
- 14:11land mass of half the United States.
- 14:13And it's as tall as it is wide. It's almost like a cube.
- 14:17And it's got these different layers.
- 14:19And it just, you know, whether that is a poetic way to describe
- 14:24whatever it is, it's very different than what we have here
- 14:29on earth. And it's still called Jerusalem,
- 14:31but it's something, it's the new Jerusalem.
- 14:33So that's what I believe is going to be like eternity.
- 14:37And then there's this protective wall that around that city that
- 14:42is, you know, God's Kingdom. And but until then, Jesus, and
- 14:48prior to then, I guess I should say Jesus will be reigning from
- 14:52earth the way this earth here, and he will be restoring it and
- 15:00restoring people. So just like this chapter says
- 15:04that he will teach us his ways. So he's going to be teaching the
- 15:09mortal people his ways and he will judge.
- 15:13I mean judge judging between means.
- 15:16People are not perfect yet. They're still having
- 15:18disagreements, but Jesus is going to be overseeing that part
- 15:23of it. So calm descendants of Jacob,
- 15:26let us walk in the light of the Lord.
- 15:28Oh, and then it says like nation will.
- 15:30Another thought that I had reading this, nation will not
- 15:33take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war
- 15:36anymore. And I just thought because
- 15:39during this thousand year period, Satan will be bound.
- 15:43He's not going to be able to have free reign like he has
- 15:46right now. And the first time I read that
- 15:49about Satan being bound for 1000 years, I was like, Oh my gosh,
- 15:52only 1000 years. Like, why would it not be
- 15:54longer? And I don't, I mean, this is
- 15:56something that isn't given to us in Scripture.
- 15:58Like why is he bound for 1000 years?
- 16:01There's we don't, I don't know. I haven't seen it yet in
- 16:05Scripture. I don't know why.
- 16:07But after that he is sent to his destruction to the burning lake
- 16:11of sulfur, the eternal fire. So he is, he is destroyed after
- 16:16that, but I don't know why he's like imprisoned for this
- 16:21thousand years. But if he is imprisoned and he
- 16:24can't do anything, he's bound, then he's not, he's unable to
- 16:29affect people in the way that he is able today to affect people.
- 16:35And so that's probably why there's not going to be war and
- 16:39all of that, because the enemy, God's enemy, Satan, he seeks to
- 16:43kill and destroy people. That's what he wants to do.
- 16:46So that makes sense. War is a good way to do that.
- 16:49And that's what he he's behind that.
- 16:53OK, so continuing on verse 6, you, Lord, have abandoned your
- 16:58people, the descendants of Jacob.
- 17:00They are full of superstitions from the east.
- 17:05We still have that today. They practice divination like
- 17:10the Philistines. The Philistines were the
- 17:13inhabitants of the area that we now call Gaza.
- 17:18And, and actually what's really interesting is the Philistines,
- 17:23Palestinians are actually a derivative of Philistines, very
- 17:28interesting too, but they practice divination like the
- 17:32Philistines. So, you know, seeking other gods
- 17:35and communicating with other gods, other little G gods, like
- 17:41they are not the creator God, but you know something other
- 17:45some sue, you know, higher up being from the heavenly realms.
- 17:50I believe that's what that would be and embrace Pagan customs.
- 17:54Well, if you start searching out what Pagan customs were and you
- 17:59and you see like how many Pagan customs affect our traditions
- 18:06here in the United States, it's shocking.
- 18:10There are so many things like, I mean, the things of God that
- 18:16have been distorted and merged with Pagan, which you know is
- 18:20against God. Other God things are being
- 18:23merged together, like a lot of the Greek gods, goddesses and
- 18:28things like that. There's like Easter is a great
- 18:33example because Easter is from I think I don't even know the way
- 18:37to say it, but Astoria or whatever is how you, I don't
- 18:40know how to say it, but it's something like that.
- 18:42And it is an it is an egg and it was like the goddess of
- 18:45fertility. Now, how did that ever get?
- 18:49I mean, I do now I see like the loose connection here is that,
- 18:53you know, this, a chick comes from an egg, hatches from an
- 18:57egg. And so that is like a new life.
- 19:01And that's like Jesus rising from the dead.
- 19:05And so I could see how you could tie it in, but I kind of think
- 19:09that's look at the way the world is.
- 19:11I mean, how, how often do we have Easter egg hunts?
- 19:15And we have this all over the world, but how often are we
- 19:17saying we're celebrating the resurrection of Jesus?
- 19:22You know, it's really gotten ingrained in our, it's become
- 19:26like bunnies and chicks and eggs and things like that, rather
- 19:31than the Son of God dying for our sins and resurrecting,
- 19:35defeating death so that we have the opportunity to be in God's
- 19:39Kingdom. So that's a Pagan originated
- 19:45celebration thing that got incorporated into Christianity.
- 19:50And so it does. It's like that's a shocking
- 19:53thing. And then you look at some of the
- 19:54other holidays and that they are, they are tied to like
- 19:57witchcraft kind of things, magic and stuff like that, that, you
- 20:02know, like a lot of these, like you look into the details around
- 20:08Valentine's Day, you look into the details about Saint
- 20:11Patrick's Day. And you start seeing these
- 20:15things that are not of God, that are kind of mixed and merged and
- 20:20blended with things that are of God.
- 20:22And it's, it's just shows like how far we've fallen away from
- 20:27our focus on God. Even Christmas.
- 20:30There is there is some I've seen like a couple different beliefs,
- 20:37like some believe Jesus was born in September, some believe he
- 20:41was born in the spring. I don't know if we can ever sort
- 20:44that out or if there's any factual data.
- 20:46But no one who studies biblical the the truth in the Bible, no
- 20:53one says that Jesus was born in December.
- 20:56Christmas came about because of a holiday, the winter solstice
- 21:01that is related to Greek mythology.
- 21:06And so even the birth of Christ was the birth of the Messiah has
- 21:13been moved to a different month that doesn't relate to any of
- 21:18the the, the holy months or any of the events that God gave to
- 21:22the Israelites back in Leviticus.
- 21:27I think is, is when it was when they started having all these
- 21:29festivals, the ones he said that I think they were actually,
- 21:31there's three festivals that he said everybody should always
- 21:35remember. And I think what I, I don't want
- 21:39to say him because I, I don't have them memorized yet, but I,
- 21:46I, I believe one of them is Passover when he, you know, and
- 21:50that is, gosh, that's, there's so much symbolism in that.
- 21:55That was when Moses was bringing the Israelites out of Egypt out
- 21:59of slavery. And they, the Pharaoh would not
- 22:04let them go. And so Gods was sending all
- 22:07these different plagues and these different infestations and
- 22:10everything to Pharaoh to make him let the Israelites go.
- 22:16So I think it was the very last one was the death of the first
- 22:20born. And the Angel of death went out
- 22:22and was going to kill all the first born.
- 22:25But in advance of that God said to use a lamb, sacrifice the
- 22:30lamb, and put the blood of the lamb on the door person.
- 22:33The Angel of death will pass over that house and will not
- 22:37kill the first born in that house.
- 22:40And that's what happened. Everybody who wasn't protected
- 22:43by the blood of the lamb was killed.
- 22:46Well, that is so symbolic because Jesus is the symbolic
- 22:50lamb. Whoever is not covered by the
- 22:52blood of Jesus will be destroyed, just like that story
- 22:57in Passover. So you know why God wanted
- 23:00everybody to remember that one. Then there's a, there's another
- 23:03one. I can't remember which one it is
- 23:06and so I don't want to say it, but then the third one would be
- 23:09the Festival of Tabernacles. And that's when they were out in
- 23:13the wilderness and they had these temporary shelters that
- 23:16God provided them, shelter, food, water, everything.
- 23:19And so that is celebrated by the Israelites and it's called
- 23:24Sukkot. And it's a week long time period
- 23:29where a lot of them will go camping or they'll have
- 23:31temporary shelters. It's, it's a festive, happy
- 23:34celebration. The Bible tells us that that
- 23:37festival will be celebrated during the millennial reign of
- 23:41Christ. So that is going to be something
- 23:43that will be celebrated in the future.
- 23:46And anyway, there's I kind of went down the path of this, but
- 23:51it's Pagan customs. That's where I let me down this
- 23:54path. So Pagan customs really are
- 23:57ingrained in modern Christianity and, and it's important that we
- 24:04make sure that the focus on Jesus on on God is the priority
- 24:10over these other things that take our minds off of God and
- 24:15put our minds onto other things that aren't, you know, related
- 24:18to God. I don't know if the original
- 24:21intention of merging these things was to help people get
- 24:25there, but it hasn't helped people.
- 24:27It probably would have been better just to say, get rid of
- 24:30that stuff. Let's just focus on the truth
- 24:32and forget about all that extraneous stuff.
- 24:35We don't need that bridge to get there.
- 24:37We just need to focus on God. And I think that's where we
- 24:40really need to be today because we get so far off from our
- 24:45attention on God that we're thinking about all these other
- 24:50things that are paying customs and something that God is, you
- 24:54know, he's accusing Israel of this stuff.
- 24:57So their land is, this is interesting.
- 24:59The land is full of silver and gold.
- 25:02There is no end to their treasures.
- 25:05Their land is full of horses. There is no end to their
- 25:09Chariots. Their land is full of idols.
- 25:13They bow down to the work of their hands, to what their
- 25:17fingers have made. So this is talking about like
- 25:22wealth and prosperity, like they're doing great.
- 25:27They have lots of silver and gold.
- 25:29They have all these treasures. They the land is full of idols.
- 25:33They bow down to the work of their hands.
- 25:37So there's a lot of pride in look what we did.
- 25:40Look, look, look at what we built.
- 25:42Look what we have. Look at our possessions.
- 25:45Those are idols, things that you know, it's like looking at, look
- 25:49at what I did and forgetting that God gave you the resources
- 25:55to do that. God gave you the skills and
- 25:57ability when he created you to do that.
- 26:00And it's forgetting God in all of this, like anything that we
- 26:03have, we should be thankful because God allowed that to
- 26:07happen. And and God, you know, he gave
- 26:12us any talents that we have, they're from God.
- 26:15So because of all this, there's wealth and prosperity.
- 26:19They have so many things and God's recognizing that like they
- 26:22are blessed. Now here's what he says what
- 26:25through Isaiah, so people will be brought low and everyone
- 26:31humbled. Do not forgive them.
- 26:34Now those were Isaiah's word, but he was saying so people will
- 26:37be brought low and everyone humbled.
- 26:39Well, that's what God does to the proud, to those who have
- 26:44idols. Everyone will be brought low,
- 26:49humbled, and that really, you know, the outcome of what
- 26:54happens after that is our decision.
- 26:58If we get too wrapped up in it, God's going to test us to see
- 27:03where we are now. When everything gets taken away
- 27:06from someone, they either reject God or they draw closer to him
- 27:12and they realize the condition that they're in.
- 27:14And that's, you know, the kind of the separation of the sheep
- 27:18and the goats. Those who choose God are the
- 27:20sheep and those who don't are the goats.
- 27:23And in, in, you know, in many parables that are told in the
- 27:27Bible. And, and it's I definitely
- 27:31experienced being humbled because I was in a time period
- 27:35of life where things were really going well, everything was going
- 27:38well. And then maybe I got a little
- 27:41bit prideful and was thinking too highly of everything.
- 27:46So God set me straight for sure. And he changed that for me.
- 27:51And I, you know, while I was going through it, it was very
- 27:55traumatic, very depressing, and it affected me in a difficult
- 28:02way. But in hindsight, I'm thankful
- 28:05for it because if that hadn't happened, I probably wouldn't
- 28:10have changed. I wouldn't.
- 28:12My eyes wouldn't have been opened.
- 28:14Sometimes God has to bring people low before he can build
- 28:19them up again, build them up the way He created us to be where we
- 28:23want to do His will. And we're not so self-centered
- 28:27and self focused, but we are looking more through in the ways
- 28:32that God does and how can we be of service to other people.
- 28:37So then it says, go into the rocks, hide in the ground from
- 28:42the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of His Majesty.
- 28:47So this is repeated in Hosea chapter 10 verse 8IN Luke 23,
- 28:55verse 30 and Revelation 616. It talks about this time when
- 29:00people will see Jesus, see the Messiah coming on the clouds.
- 29:06It says, and they will try to fall hide in caves that
- 29:13definitely hide because they know the wrath of God is coming.
- 29:17Now the Bible tells us they're going to know the wrath of God
- 29:20is coming. So that's really interesting.
- 29:22It's not like they're like, oh, what's going on?
- 29:24They it says they know and they're saying like hide us from
- 29:29him. So there's a recognition.
- 29:34And so a lot of people always say, well, you know, that's not
- 29:36fair to people who don't know. Well, the Bible doesn't say us
- 29:39say that anybody's going to be surprised about this when they
- 29:42see God coming in the clouds. They are going to know and they
- 29:47are going to hide out of fear. They don't want to face the Lord
- 29:51because they do not want the wrath of God.
- 29:53So that means they're knowingly doing something that they know
- 29:56God doesn't approve of. And so they are in fear.
- 30:01Then there's other people who have prepared themselves who are
- 30:04living according to God's will and keeping in touch with him on
- 30:08a daily basis through prayer and and open to the Holy Spirit
- 30:15guiding them in life. And they welcome when Jesus
- 30:20returns, they're not going to be fear because those who have
- 30:27prepared themselves are not subject to God's wrath.
- 30:32So there's nothing to fear. When you see God coming, you're
- 30:35not going to, you know, say hi. Do you know, like, Oh my gosh,
- 30:37let's go on a cave and protect ourselves from the wrath of
- 30:40Jesus. Jesus is not going to send bad
- 30:44things on us. He's not going to beat us up.
- 30:48So the wrath of God is for those who have rejected him, not for
- 30:53those who have prepared, those who have the Holy Spirit, those
- 30:58who have repented of their sin, turn away from their sin.
- 31:01Those who don't feel guilty about what they're doing anymore
- 31:05because they're not doing the things they used to do.
- 31:08There's been a change. They've become a new creation.
- 31:11The new creation happens when we receive the Holy Spirit and the
- 31:15Holy Spirit starts changing our lives.
- 31:18We have to be willing to let God do that.
- 31:20But God does it, and He does it because we are not strong
- 31:26enough. We're weak, we can't do it on
- 31:29our own. We need God, we can't be our own
- 31:31savior. We need a savior.
- 31:34And so that's what God saves us. So the eyes of the arrogant will
- 31:39be humbled and human pride brought low.
- 31:42The Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
- 31:47That's going to be in the future.
- 31:48He certainly isn't exalted now. There's lots of gods that are
- 31:51being worshipped right now. You can see it even in sporting
- 31:54events in the Olympics and everything.
- 31:56I mean, there's just once your eyes are opened, it's it's very
- 32:00sad when you realize you see this, you're like, wow, this is
- 32:04really happening. The Lord Almighty has a day in
- 32:08store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exhaust
- 32:12exalted, and they will be humbled.
- 32:17There's a day coming where everyone's going to be humbled.
- 32:21For all the Cedars of Lebanon, tall and lofty, and all the oaks
- 32:25of Bashan, for all the towering mountains and all the high
- 32:29hills, for every lofty tower and every fortified wall, for every
- 32:34trading ship and every stately vessel.
- 32:37The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride
- 32:42humbled. So today there's like last month
- 32:47was a celebration of Pride Month.
- 32:50You know, how did we get there when God says he hates pride and
- 32:56then we have a month that that celebrates it.
- 33:00I mean, that's stupid, that's ignorant, That's just completely
- 33:05ridiculous that we've allowed that to happen.
- 33:08A country that was formed and you know, in God, we trust, we
- 33:12put our trust and faith in God and, and here we are today the
- 33:16way we are. It's just, it's has to be
- 33:20appalling to God when he sees this, like of all the things
- 33:24that he does for us, and then to see that we just blatantly do
- 33:28something that God says he hates.
- 33:32So anyway, that's not going to last forever.
- 33:36There's going to be God's wrath is going to come for that.
- 33:41The Lord alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols will
- 33:46totally disappear. I guess everything is going to
- 33:49be destroyed. If it's idols, people will flee
- 33:52to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground from the
- 33:58fearful presence of the Lord. I do find it kind of interesting
- 34:04that if you want to call it the elite of the world, those who
- 34:11have a lot of financial resources, a lot of them are
- 34:15building bunkers. And of course, they're doing it
- 34:19because of maybe not, of course, but they're probably doing it
- 34:23because of the potential threat of nuclear wars, which, you
- 34:29know, we may have nuclear wars. There's, you know, definitely a
- 34:33good possibility for that. But you know, they're, they're
- 34:36looking at, you know, how they're going to go into these
- 34:39bunkers and survive. And, and it's just, it's, well,
- 34:45they don't either they know God or they don't know God, but they
- 34:47don't know the, the word of God because the word of God says
- 34:52people are going to do this, but they're not going to be able to
- 34:55escape from God. So those things are going to be
- 34:58useless when God returns, when Jesus returns, those bunkers,
- 35:02those caves, those places, it's just not going to be helpful at
- 35:07all. So it's a lot of wasted money.
- 35:11Idols will totally disappear. So in Revelation 616, this is
- 35:15the future thing. When Jesus returns, it says they
- 35:18called to the mountains and the rocks fall on us and hide us
- 35:21from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of
- 35:26the Lamb. The Lamb is Jesus from the face
- 35:30of him who sits on the throne. So they don't want to see the
- 35:33Creator says, for the great day of their wrath has come and, and
- 35:37who can withstand it? So very interesting stuff,
- 35:42people. And so Isaiah said people will
- 35:44flee to caves in the rocks and to the holes in the ground from
- 35:47the fearful presence of the Lord.
- 35:50When has that happened? Not yet, It's in the future and
- 35:54the splendor of His Majesty when he rises to shake the earth.
- 35:59So there is another part of Scripture, and I don't know
- 36:01where it is, but it says there will be one more shaking of the
- 36:05heavens too. OK, that's another part of
- 36:08prophecy, but I can't remember where that is.
- 36:10So in that day people will throw away to the moles and bats their
- 36:16idols of silver, idols of gold which they made to worship.
- 36:21So they're not going to want anything at that point.
- 36:24They're going to be like, oh, I'm just throwing this out of
- 36:26here. It will do nothing.
- 36:27They will flee to caverns in the rocks and to the overhanging
- 36:33crags from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of
- 36:40His Majesty when he rises to shake the earth.
- 36:45So then it says, the last sentence says, stop trusting in
- 36:49mere humans who have but a breath in their nostrils.
- 36:54Why hold them in esteem? Good question.
- 36:59So it's warning about leaders, you know, if people are
- 37:03thinking, oh, I need to create my bunker just like these other
- 37:06people are doing, No, you don't. You just need to have a
- 37:10relationship with God. You need to be in communication
- 37:12with God. You need to repent of sin and
- 37:15turn to him. Let the Holy Spirit into your
- 37:18life to start changing you to be what God created you to be and
- 37:23to have a purpose that God has for every single person.
- 37:26So that's what you need to do right now, but don't like look
- 37:30towards these people as, oh, I need this, I need that.
- 37:34That's that's going to come to you're going to see that that's
- 37:39not that's going to be worthless.
- 37:41So, and these, these leaders, it's a warning about leaders
- 37:45because a lot of the leaders today it, they, they're, they
- 37:51won't submit to God because they want power.
- 37:54This is just like the old story back when the Kingdom split into
- 37:58the northern Kingdom of 10 tribes and the southern Kingdom
- 38:02of Judah and Benjamin. So the 10 tribes, they wouldn't
- 38:06give up their city of Samaria, which is in the modern day West
- 38:10Bank. They wouldn't give that up
- 38:12because they wanted, they didn't want to go to Jerusalem.
- 38:17They wanted to stay where in their area.
- 38:21They didn't want to give up their power, their leadership.
- 38:25They, they thought if they let people go, then they'd always
- 38:29keep going to Jerusalem. And then Jerusalem is where God
- 38:32had established that where his place of worship was going to be
- 38:36and it will be in the future. But they didn't want it.
- 38:38They didn't want to give up the power.
- 38:39So they had another, a northern Kingdom and a separate place of
- 38:43worship. And instead of staying true to
- 38:45the Lord, they started worshiping calves again, just
- 38:48like what Moses, What happened when Moses was up on the
- 38:52mountain with the Lord receiving the 10 commandments, The people
- 38:55down at the bottom of the mountain melted all their
- 38:58jewelry and stuff and made these are melted.
- 39:00I don't know what they did, but somehow they used the gold they
- 39:02had and they made calves to worship.
- 39:05Like just during like Moses was gone for like 40 days.
- 39:09But in that 40 days of time, these people started doing this
- 39:14and worshipping something other than God after they had heard
- 39:19the presence of the Lord at that mountain in Mount Sinai, Sinai.
- 39:24And they were, they were still doing this.
- 39:26Like it just seemed so. Like, how could people be so
- 39:30ignorant? You know, you experience this
- 39:32threat, you know, this trembling presence of God.
- 39:37And, and yet at the same time, you, you know, well, they didn't
- 39:41have the 10 commandments. So I guess they didn't realize
- 39:43that worshipping something else was, was against the
- 39:46commandments. But that was one of the first
- 39:47commandments. You know, you shall have no
- 39:49other God before you, no other idols before you.
- 39:52And and so, but we look at human nature and we can see that the
- 39:56people at that time, as is the as are the people of today.
- 40:01Think of all the leaders in the world, the world leaders, and
- 40:05look at them. Are they seeking power?
- 40:08Do they want to gain more territory?
- 40:10Do they want wealth? Are they looking to get wealth?
- 40:14Do they have pride? Will pride or embarrassment keep
- 40:21them from telling the truth? Do they hide things well?
- 40:23Don't trust it says stop trusting in mere humans.
- 40:27Humans are sinful. They they value power, they
- 40:31value wealth, they value pride. They they could also maybe tell
- 40:38lies out of fear or threats or to protect their pride.
- 40:45They don't want to be embarrassed, so they'll lie.
- 40:48They could get money so that they do something that is
- 40:51against their morals, against their values, but they're
- 40:54getting money for it. So they trade off.
- 40:57They could do it because they are they have a fear of death
- 41:00because they don't know God. They don't know that actually,
- 41:03when they die, if they are, you know, I born again, a new
- 41:07creation where they've repented, then they will be in God's
- 41:12Kingdom when that happens one day.
- 41:16But if they don't believe, they're going to have a fear of
- 41:19death because they think, you know, it's kind of like you only
- 41:21live once theory where, you know, celebrate the day or like
- 41:26the Greeks say, carpe diem where it's just, you know, like you
- 41:30got to live for today because you don't have tomorrow.
- 41:34And, and it's usually a reckless behavior that they are
- 41:37encouraging, not something godly.
- 41:41It's true, we should think like that.
- 41:43You only live well. You only live forever is what
- 41:46the truth is. But again, it's probably God's
- 41:51enemy making people think you only live once.
- 41:53Well, we fall asleep and then when Jesus returns, we will be
- 41:58awakened and we will be living just like Jesus did.
- 42:02And so we are going to be eternal beings.
- 42:05If we became a new creation where we rejected sin and chose
- 42:11God, we turn to God. So the things that the world can
- 42:15separate us and and God's enemy is really good at getting
- 42:20people. I mean, getting people, but
- 42:22enticing people, tempting people with power, wealth, pride, and
- 42:29in fear, fear is another one too.
- 42:32Fear motivates people. And maybe they have a fear of I
- 42:36didn't get to do all the things I wanted to do in this earth.
- 42:39I mean, who cares? We've got eternity to live.
- 42:41That's forever. There's so much we can do.
- 42:43We don't have to do it all here. So there, that's something.
- 42:47And then the fear of death. If you know where you're going
- 42:50after you die, you don't fear it anymore.
- 42:53And then threats that you know, people can use, threats against
- 42:57something that they know somebody loves.
- 42:59And if they have something against someone, then you know,
- 43:03people could, can and do lie to avoid being exposed because of
- 43:11their pride, because they don't want anybody to think they're as
- 43:14bad as they are. But here's the refreshing thing.
- 43:18When you finally admit you are as bad as you are, you admit it
- 43:23to God and you say, God, change me though I don't want to be
- 43:27like this. Then when you actually say that
- 43:30you were once that bad, but now you've you have a new life and
- 43:34you're not going to be that way anymore.
- 43:36That's so refreshing. There's you don't have any power
- 43:39over you over you anymore. Yeah, that was the past life and
- 43:42God that was, you know, happened in the past and God and you
- 43:48reconciled with that and God Forgives and he has mercy when
- 43:52anybody, I mean it says the angels in heaven rejoice when 1
- 43:56Sinner repents. So God is looking for people who
- 44:00are willing to humble themselves and say, yes, I got it wrong.
- 44:04Yes, I made a lot of mistakes. I don't want that in my life
- 44:07anymore. I want to turn to you.
- 44:09I want you to change my life and to help me to live in accordance
- 44:15with your will and accordance with your purpose for my life
- 44:19because everybody has a purpose and God designs that.
- 44:22So anyway, long, long story once again, but this is this is about
- 44:30chapter 2 is about the Millennium reign of Christ and
- 44:34things will be very different when Jesus returns.
- 44:38So what we can take away from this today is that we need to
- 44:42prepare, not in bunkers, but to prepare our repair, our
- 44:48relationship with God, talk to God in prayer.
- 44:51It's between US and God. Nobody can do it for us, and we
- 44:55don't need anybody in between us besides Jesus.
- 44:57That's already been done. Jesus died on the cross for our
- 45:00sins, so he is our mediator. We don't need any priests.
- 45:04We don't need any pastors. We don't need any rabbis.
- 45:07We don't need any of that. We don't need anybody.
- 45:10Jesus is that for all of us, all nations.
- 45:14All we need is Jesus, which like I said, that already happened.
- 45:19He already died on the cross and he's living and we need to
- 45:24communicate with God in the name of Jesus and ask for these
- 45:27things. Go to Jesus with us and you will
- 45:32be restored. You will be prepared.
- 45:35You will be equipped for whatever comes and you will
- 45:39know, not just guess. There's not going to be any of
- 45:41this. Well, I hope God's Kingdom, no,
- 45:44you're going to know because of the choice you made and make
- 45:49every day, you will be in God's Kingdom when you turn away from
- 45:54sin and turn towards God. And when you are weak, you ask
- 45:58God for the Holy Spirit to help you overcome the temptation
- 46:02that's in front of you. And God will do that.
- 46:07It just takes our free will to call on God.
- 46:11So call on God, be prepared, and you have nothing to fear.
