- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to jag Van this morning.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Kind on a seat in Brian Sexton, John Osier Wigney today,
- 0:20Speaker 2: as we talk a little bit about the Jaguars heading
- 0:22Speaker 2: into the Spy Week, they're gonna have some time off
- 0:25Speaker 2: the recap regroup, try to go over some things after
- 0:27Speaker 2: two kind of frustrating losses two weeks in a row.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Let's start out with our big things today, brought to
- 0:31Speaker 2: you by GEHA, Government Employees, Health Association Benefits for federal
- 0:35Speaker 2: employees and retire Week. The big thing, number one is
- 0:38Speaker 2: you got to get healthy. A lot of these issues
- 0:40Speaker 2: kind of started springing up when injuries took place. Trayvon
- 0:43Speaker 2: Walker dislocating his wrist, had to get surgery on that,
- 0:46Speaker 2: and of course Brenton Strange has been missing as he's
- 0:48Speaker 2: on IR now with a hip injury, and Brian I
- 0:51Speaker 2: don't know if at all be fixed after the break.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Obviously it'll take some time to work back, specifically for
- 0:55Speaker 2: Brenton's Strange, but they gotta get those two guys back.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I think those are two big missing pieces.
- 1:00Speaker 3: And the key with Trayvon is to not have that
- 1:02Speaker 3: full club and maybe have a brace or something where
- 1:06Speaker 3: he can actually use his fingers. When you go on IR,
- 1:09Speaker 3: you have to be going at least four games, so
- 1:10Speaker 3: Vegas would be the first opportunity that the Jaguars could
- 1:13Speaker 3: possibly bring him back to the active roster. But there's
- 1:16Speaker 3: other guys too. Eric Murray's got a neck that's been
- 1:18Speaker 3: bothering him now for a couple of weeks, and Robert
- 1:21Speaker 3: Haines he had the hamstring and baseial tooton the shoulder.
- 1:24Speaker 3: There are just some guys who are banged up, so
- 1:26Speaker 3: hopefully these two weeks give them a chance to get
- 1:28Speaker 3: back on the field somewhere closer to one hundred percent.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yeah, there's always guys that I'm covering a game and
- 1:36Speaker 4: there's the Jaguars players down. I can't see the number.
- 1:39Speaker 4: There's always a handful of guys you don't want on
- 1:41Speaker 4: that list. There's three for me this year, forty one,
- 1:44Speaker 4: eighty five and forty four, and two of those guys
- 1:48Speaker 4: have been hurt, So I do think that matters. It
- 1:50Speaker 4: can't be everything, but getting healthy I think will help
- 1:54Speaker 4: this team, especially with Strange and Walker, be a more
- 1:58Speaker 4: physical team that they were in the first four games.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Definitely, always the folks of the bye week is to
- 2:03Speaker 2: get healthy big thing Number two is going to be overcorrect.
- 2:06Speaker 2: So while we're frustrated with the past couple of weeks performances,
- 2:10Speaker 2: it's important to remember the team is four and three.
- 2:12Speaker 1: John. You don't want to overcorrect. You're still doing a
- 2:14Speaker 1: lot of things right.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It's more about getting back to what they had been
- 2:17Speaker 2: doing right the first couple of weeks.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Well, the buzz work earlier in the week was we
- 2:20Speaker 4: can't or the buzz words where we can't reinvent the wheel,
- 2:24Speaker 4: and they say that, and it's true, because you can't.
- 2:28Speaker 4: There's no time to do it, so there's no reason
- 2:30Speaker 4: to even try. Look, the things that they're doing are
- 2:35Speaker 4: not bad things, they're just not doing them well, meaning
- 2:40Speaker 4: you know, pre snap avoidables, operation errors, those who have
- 2:44Speaker 4: been the key And frankly, they have to figure out
- 2:47Speaker 4: a way to go from seven sacks allowed to one
- 2:50Speaker 4: or two. I don't think they're a great offensive line, Brian,
- 2:54Speaker 4: in terms of being able to withstand.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Pressure if the scoreboards against them.
- 2:58Speaker 4: But they got to figure out a way to not
- 3:00Speaker 4: be a seven sack team, and I think that's being
- 3:02Speaker 4: in better situations offensively.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Obviously, we've talked at length about the penalties you know, John,
- 3:07Speaker 3: the Vegas game the Sunday after the buye, it has
- 3:12Speaker 3: a bullsoun It's a very important game because the Jaguars
- 3:15Speaker 3: will not have won for almost two month since having
- 3:17Speaker 3: beaten Kansas City. They haven't played good football. You mentioned
- 3:20Speaker 3: the sacks. They've not gotten any sacks the last two games.
- 3:23Speaker 3: They got no takeaways either. They couldn't run the ball,
- 3:27Speaker 3: they fell behind early, they made mental mistakes. So there's
- 3:31Speaker 3: a lot of things that have been working against them.
- 3:33Speaker 3: The Raiders don't appear to be a very good football
- 3:35Speaker 3: team this year. They get beat thirty one to nothing
- 3:37Speaker 3: in Kansas City last Sunday, but that doesn't mean they
- 3:40Speaker 3: won't be ready to play when the Jaguars roll in there.
- 3:43Speaker 3: And the Jaguars lost there last year. So there's a
- 3:46Speaker 3: lot riding on what the Jaguars get done this week
- 3:50Speaker 3: and then their preparation next week as they get ready
- 3:54Speaker 3: to resume in Vegas.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Good point.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Our final big thing is road Warriors. You mentioned they're
- 3:58Speaker 2: going on the road when they get that bye week
- 4:00Speaker 2: to go to Las Vegas, but three out of four
- 4:02Speaker 2: games are going to be on the roads. They're on
- 4:04Speaker 2: the road in Vegas, they're on the road in Houston,
- 4:05Speaker 2: they come back and play the Chargers, and then they're
- 4:07Speaker 2: going on the road to.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Play the Cardinals.
- 4:09Speaker 2: So, Brian, I think the first part of the schedule
- 4:11Speaker 2: is probably the toughest when I looked at it, but
- 4:13Speaker 2: this kind of stretch was also a little bit daunting.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Listen, if they get back to playing good football, I
- 4:18Speaker 3: am firmly confident that they'll be able to succeed away
- 4:21Speaker 3: from Jacksonville. But you know, we just mentioned that Raiders game,
- 4:25Speaker 3: and then you got the Texans the week after and
- 4:27Speaker 3: the Jaguars. As we know, it's been a long time
- 4:30Speaker 3: since they've beaten the Texans in back to back weeks.
- 4:32Speaker 3: It's been sent our pardon me twice in the same season.
- 4:35Speaker 3: It's been since twenty seventeen since they have done that.
- 4:38Speaker 3: So that's a huge game with a lot of implications,
- 4:41Speaker 3: and then you come home to get the Chargers before
- 4:43Speaker 3: those other road games. I mean, it's yes, you had
- 4:45Speaker 3: a stretch where you had the Niners and the Chiefs
- 4:47Speaker 3: and the Rams and the Seahawks, but it doesn't necessarily
- 4:51Speaker 3: start easier in the second half.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yeah, they have to play well. If they play well,
- 4:56Speaker 4: they're fine on the road. They went to San Francisco
- 4:58Speaker 4: in one. They should have be Cincinnati up there. I
- 5:01Speaker 4: don't think this team has a road thing. I think
- 5:05Speaker 4: they have a not playing very well thing right now.
- 5:09Speaker 4: So the buy is at a perfect time, as they say,
- 5:11Speaker 4: so I don't worry about the location of those games
- 5:15Speaker 4: after the buye. I worry about them getting back to
- 5:17Speaker 4: playing well.
- 5:18Speaker 2: All right, Stay with us here on jag ZAMM. Coming
- 5:20Speaker 2: up after the break, We're gonna go over some of
- 5:21Speaker 2: the strengths and the struggles the team's been going through
- 5:24Speaker 2: for the first seven weeks this season. The twelve years,
- 5:36Speaker 2: dream Binders Homes have been proud to call themselves the
- 5:37Speaker 2: official homebuilder of the Jacksonville Jaguars. There's a Dreambinders Homes
- 5:40Speaker 2: dot com to find all of the available inventory, Go
- 5:43Speaker 2: Jags track here.
- 5:47Speaker 1: On jags am.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And it's bye week, So we're gonna look back and
- 5:50Speaker 2: we're fleshed a little bit about the first seven weeks
- 5:53Speaker 2: of what we've seen in Jaguars football so far this year.
- 5:55Speaker 2: So we're gonna do a pro con. We're gonna do
- 5:57Speaker 2: strength and a struggle. So, Brian, what's the strength and
- 6:00Speaker 2: the struggle you've seen from the team so far Gone.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Has instituted his brand of football right. They started four
- 6:08Speaker 3: in one. They won in San Francisco, where they had
- 6:10Speaker 3: never won before. They beat Kansas City on Monday Night Football.
- 6:13Speaker 3: They're playing a physical brand of football, which is exactly
- 6:16Speaker 3: what he promised when they hired him. Look, I mean
- 6:20Speaker 3: he hasn't turned it all the way around, because we
- 6:21Speaker 3: saw the game in London and that looked like some
- 6:25Speaker 3: of the old Jaguars. But it's hard to be in
- 6:28Speaker 3: this building. It's hard to not see how he has
- 6:32Speaker 3: turned this thing in the direction that he wants to
- 6:35Speaker 3: take it. It may take him more than this year,
- 6:37Speaker 3: may take him into next year to get it where
- 6:39Speaker 3: he really wants it to be. But I think he's
- 6:42Speaker 3: been the highlight at this point. He really has brought
- 6:44Speaker 3: an energy and you can see that his team rallies
- 6:48Speaker 3: around him, and he's a transparent guy. What he says
- 6:51Speaker 3: is we've seen in his postgame speeches that he allows
- 6:54Speaker 3: us to tape in the locker room. Win or lose
- 6:56Speaker 3: is the exact same thing that he says to the media.
- 6:58Speaker 3: So I think he's been hit. I think they've nailed
- 7:02Speaker 3: this one, and that's been the pro from the first
- 7:05Speaker 3: part of the season so far.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Hard to argue that.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I think just his transparency as a whole has been
- 7:09Speaker 2: really helpful this year.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Good and bad. Good.
- 7:12Speaker 2: So now he went the bat, Yes, well, what are
- 7:14Speaker 2: they gonna work on? What's an improvement?
- 7:15Speaker 3: That's a better way to put it. The quarterback he's
- 7:18Speaker 3: played okay, right, he's been. He's not a top ten quarterback.
- 7:22Speaker 3: He's not a bottom ten quarterback either. He's right in
- 7:24Speaker 3: the middle average. But he hasn't played great. And he's
- 7:29Speaker 3: your franchise guy, and you need to get him from
- 7:32Speaker 3: good to great. And there's two or three plays in
- 7:36Speaker 3: every game that you can go back and point to
- 7:38Speaker 3: and say, what was he thinking right there? The one
- 7:41Speaker 3: that I point out the most is Brenton's strange lined
- 7:43Speaker 3: up behind him on the goal line against Kansas City,
- 7:45Speaker 3: not to lift him over the top, right, He's supposed
- 7:48Speaker 3: to put a shoulder out and go. Instead he jumps up,
- 7:50Speaker 3: loses the ball on the goal line. There's just little
- 7:52Speaker 3: things like that that he has to clean up. John.
- 7:56Speaker 3: This guy is he's supposed to be the franchise quarter back,
- 8:00Speaker 3: and I get it, guys drop balls. The running game
- 8:03Speaker 3: hasn't worked. Brighton Strange has been out, but if the
- 8:05Speaker 3: Jaguars are going to get this thing going in the
- 8:07Speaker 3: second half of the season, they need him to play,
- 8:10Speaker 3: to use a coaching term, a little bit more above
- 8:12Speaker 3: the x's and o's.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and Liam talks about playing well in the gray,
- 8:16Speaker 4: and he hasn't always played well in the gray. Played
- 8:19Speaker 4: okay at times against Kansas City. He has lifted them
- 8:22Speaker 4: at times and situations, but he hasn't played well in
- 8:25Speaker 4: the gray.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I don't know if he will.
- 8:30Speaker 4: He needs to, and I think it's it's a huge
- 8:33Speaker 4: in the last ten games. I agree with you his
- 8:36Speaker 4: ability to be above the x's and o's to make
- 8:39Speaker 4: instinctive things. At some point a quarterback has to do it,
- 8:42Speaker 4: and he hasn't done it enough.
- 8:44Speaker 2: That's become a little more institual for sure. John, what
- 8:48Speaker 2: is what's your strength? What have you seen from the well?
- 8:51Speaker 4: You know this may be a little too vague for
- 8:52Speaker 4: the question, but the quality wins. I mean, yeah, they
- 8:54Speaker 4: beat Carolina, who's now four and three, They beat San Francisco,
- 8:59Speaker 4: and they beat yeah, Kansas City.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I mean, if you picked teams.
- 9:05Speaker 4: From conferences, the best three teams in the NFL the
- 9:09Speaker 4: last five year or that's four than the Bills, the Niners.
- 9:13Speaker 1: The Chiefs, and probably the Eagles, right, but they beat
- 9:16Speaker 1: two of them.
- 9:17Speaker 4: So I don't think you can take away the fact
- 9:19Speaker 4: that there are formulas and when this team plays a
- 9:22Speaker 4: certain way, they can play with those guys.
- 9:24Speaker 1: That means, you.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Know, everybody plays this game where they're gonna win what
- 9:28Speaker 4: they're gonna lose. Who's you know, Well, they can beat
- 9:30Speaker 4: any team on the schedule because they beat Kansas City
- 9:33Speaker 4: and San Francisco, but they have to play that way.
- 9:36Speaker 4: So finding a way to get back to what works
- 9:39Speaker 4: for you is the key.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And the second half the season, yes, especially because when
- 9:43Speaker 2: we're looking at strength of schedule, it should be a
- 9:45Speaker 2: little bit easier on the back half.
- 9:47Speaker 4: But there's some power teams left and I think most
- 9:48Speaker 4: people are gonna write those games off.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I don't think they can.
- 9:51Speaker 4: With this team if they play their games and for
- 9:54Speaker 4: the needs to work on. You know, everybody knows where
- 9:57Speaker 4: I'm going with it. It's the little things. Robert Hainsey
- 10:01Speaker 4: talked this week about operational. You know, it's kind of
- 10:04Speaker 4: become the buzzword. They have been very good operationally. It's
- 10:09Speaker 4: an old coach's cliche but let's clean everything up and
- 10:14Speaker 4: see if we're any good or not, because right now
- 10:16Speaker 4: there's no way to know because they don't even get
- 10:18Speaker 4: to the situation to see if they're good. So until
- 10:23Speaker 4: they clean that up, I'm gonna be sitting on this
- 10:26Speaker 4: couch talking about it every week because you can't win
- 10:30Speaker 4: in the NFL with this team right now if you're
- 10:33Speaker 4: behind everything all the time.
- 10:35Speaker 3: It's an often used word and it's pretty vague, but consistency.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Right this team does not play consistent. They'll play up,
- 10:43Speaker 3: they'll play down, but they never seem to find that
- 10:46Speaker 3: level of consistency either running game. You know in the
- 10:49Speaker 3: past defense, what you were just saying is that they've
- 10:52Speaker 3: got to figure out how to play consistent football. And
- 10:54Speaker 3: that's when the coaches gonna be harping on that the
- 10:56Speaker 3: second half of the season.
- 10:57Speaker 2: No more penalties, No more penalties for me. I went
- 11:02Speaker 2: with their strength kind of being the buy in right.
- 11:04Speaker 2: So the last couple of years things have gone awry
- 11:07Speaker 2: and felt like everybody was kind of on their own.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I don't feel that out of this team. And even after.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Two bad losses and one really kind of a blowout
- 11:15Speaker 2: loss in London, you don't feel disjointed by it.
- 11:18Speaker 1: By any means.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I think everybody's taking responsibility for their part in this
- 11:23Speaker 2: and not pointing the finger at each other at this
- 11:25Speaker 2: point in the season, and for that, I think a
- 11:27Speaker 2: good team knows not to do that.
- 11:29Speaker 1: But it's more difficult than you realize.
- 11:31Speaker 2: When you're in it right it's very easy to be like.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Oh, well, this guy should have been doing whatever.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And they're not doing that right now, and I think
- 11:37Speaker 2: that's huge, And that's what good teams do, is they
- 11:39Speaker 2: find to figure out a way to fix what they're
- 11:42Speaker 2: doing and they don't point the finger at each other.
- 11:44Speaker 2: So for them, I'll give them a strength and character
- 11:46Speaker 2: of not letting things derail them.
- 11:48Speaker 1: And I don't think that they're going to.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I think after the buye we come expecting the good
- 11:51Speaker 2: outing in Las Vegas, and hopefully it'll prove me wrong.
- 11:54Speaker 2: But I think they'll be able to bounce back and
- 11:56Speaker 2: get a quality win there on the road against the
- 11:58Speaker 2: team that they should be in terms of a struggle.
- 12:01Speaker 2: And something I think they need to work on is
- 12:03Speaker 2: just getting in a flow. Everything feels really choppy right now.
- 12:06Speaker 2: They haven't been able to kind of end this penalties
- 12:08Speaker 2: involved as well, and there a little bit of the quarterback.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I think maybe both of your struggles combined into this.
- 12:13Speaker 1: But getting themselves going early, whether it's.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Even on defense, getting takeaways, flying around, getting their hands
- 12:19Speaker 2: on the football. They need to get back into that
- 12:22Speaker 2: aspect of their game where they're playing fast and they're
- 12:25Speaker 2: not sitting and thinking about every single thing they're doing,
- 12:28Speaker 2: because when they play like that, that's just not how
- 12:30Speaker 2: they're going to win football games.
- 12:31Speaker 3: To your point on buy in, I think that was
- 12:34Speaker 3: where the four and one start was so important. I mean,
- 12:36Speaker 3: you had guys that believed in the things that Liam
- 12:39Speaker 3: had been talking about, and they had results based on
- 12:41Speaker 3: all of their hard work that should carry them through
- 12:45Speaker 3: this two game stretch where things sort of fell apart.
- 12:49Speaker 1: If this team continues to.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Have buy in to make their bare minimum and nine
- 12:54Speaker 4: win take so, I think they will. I think they'll
- 12:57Speaker 4: end up nine or ten ish cause I don't think
- 13:00Speaker 4: they're gonna lose faith in the direction.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Absolutely stay with us.
- 13:03Speaker 2: We're gonna talk a little bit about what's been going
- 13:04Speaker 2: on in the AFC South.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Coming back to the right jag XAM brought to you
- 13:18Speaker 1: by Fields Auto.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Groups Seafield's first Jacksonville's premier luxury auto group. Head over
- 13:21Speaker 2: to Fields Auto dot com.
- 13:24Speaker 1: You're on jack Zam.
- 13:25Speaker 2: It's on the bye week, so we're checking in a
- 13:26Speaker 2: little bit around the AFC South see what's going on,
- 13:28Speaker 2: so we can keep track of things.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And the Colts just keep on winning.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Every time I look over the box score, getting another
- 13:34Speaker 2: dub at six to one.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Now they're like your.
- 13:38Speaker 2: New right, I think at this point, like I wondered
- 13:42Speaker 2: whether they were legit or not, but they seem to
- 13:44Speaker 2: be legit.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Well, listen, we were talking about Daniel Jones and how
- 13:48Speaker 3: he's unlocked, Jonathan Taylor, who is among the better backs,
- 13:51Speaker 3: maybe the second best back in the league, although might
- 13:54Speaker 3: be the best back in the league. The shyercase sake
- 13:55Speaker 3: one Barkley is struggling. Yeah, but it's it's more than that.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Their offensive line. John has two very good tackles, Bernard Ryman,
- 14:04Speaker 3: the young left tackle and Braden Smith. And Quenton Nelson
- 14:07Speaker 3: has long been one of the better guards in the league,
- 14:09Speaker 3: and it looks like he's back to playing at his level.
- 14:11Speaker 3: But then there's the X factor and a guy that
- 14:12Speaker 3: I loved coming out in the draft, that's Tyler Warren,
- 14:15Speaker 3: the tight end they can use in so many different ways.
- 14:18Speaker 3: They've got this juice, this momentum going where they feel
- 14:22Speaker 3: it right now, and they are playing really good football,
- 14:25Speaker 3: beating good teams. They should have beaten the Rams in LA,
- 14:28Speaker 3: which tells you how good they're capable of being, and
- 14:31Speaker 3: then they go out and beat the Chargers in LA.
- 14:34Speaker 3: They should have two wins on that field this year.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Yeah, they're six and one and they had a couple
- 14:38Speaker 4: of wins. They're probably where they should be. I think
- 14:42Speaker 4: the Chiefs are starting to look again like the best
- 14:45Speaker 4: team in the AFC.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But the Colts are right there with him.
- 14:48Speaker 4: So the Jaguars task right now is going to be
- 14:52Speaker 4: to try to get the ship right, get back to
- 14:56Speaker 4: where they're two games behind him, so they're still in range.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Can pulling back in?
- 15:01Speaker 2: Did you?
- 15:01Speaker 4: Aways have a big task to stay within range of
- 15:03Speaker 4: the Colts until December because they're better than people thought,
- 15:08Speaker 4: and Daniel Jones has been the stabilizing factor there.
- 15:12Speaker 2: And it seems like as we look at the Texans
- 15:14Speaker 2: who fell on Monday Night football to a really good
- 15:16Speaker 2: Seahawks team though we just played, it seems like the
- 15:18Speaker 2: Coults are now the team that really needs to focus
- 15:20Speaker 2: on because the Texans seem to be going through some
- 15:22Speaker 2: struggles right now from maybe what was expected. They had
- 15:25Speaker 2: a tough end of their year last year, but now
- 15:27Speaker 2: they seem to be trying to figure things out.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Well, they're trying to get offense figured out, and they
- 15:32Speaker 4: sort of reset a lot of things in the off season,
- 15:35Speaker 4: which you know, usually there's exceptions, but as we've seen here,
- 15:39Speaker 4: it takes offenses a while to get going, and they're
- 15:43Speaker 4: not going at all offensively. So the look the best
- 15:48Speaker 4: quarterback in divisions Jane Jones, which we would have thought
- 15:51Speaker 4: because C. J. Stroud and Trevor Lawrence are sort of
- 15:55Speaker 4: middling right now and both frankly sort of look like
- 15:58Speaker 4: they're having the same sort of of trying to get
- 16:01Speaker 4: through this part of their career until they decide what
- 16:04Speaker 4: they are. So Texans are a good defense. But I thought,
- 16:09Speaker 4: if you watch this game, I'll go back to the Jags.
- 16:11Speaker 4: The Jags were better and can see how's the Texans work?
- 16:13Speaker 4: I thought, you know, and defensively, the Jaguars did not
- 16:17Speaker 4: get gashed in the running game, and it sort of
- 16:19Speaker 4: looked at times like the Texans couldn't stop their run.
- 16:22Speaker 4: So the Texans aren't done, but they have a steep
- 16:27Speaker 4: road to get back with the way they're playing offensively.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Yea, and they could be a couple of games behind
- 16:31Speaker 3: you by the time you see them again. It's the Colts.
- 16:34Speaker 3: The Colts still have to see the Chiefs. The Colts
- 16:36Speaker 3: still have to see the Seahawks. The Colts still have
- 16:37Speaker 3: to see the forty nine ers. There's an opportunity if
- 16:40Speaker 3: you start playing good football, for you to catch them
- 16:42Speaker 3: before you even play them and you see them twice.
- 16:45Speaker 3: But the margin for error becomes narrow if you don't
- 16:48Speaker 3: start playing good football. Because the Colts, as you just said,
- 16:50Speaker 3: have the best quarterback in the division right now, and
- 16:53Speaker 3: people in New York are scratching their head saying, wait,
- 16:55Speaker 3: that's Daniel Jones, right, But Sayakwad Barkley always said, if
- 16:58Speaker 3: you put that guy with a legitimate offensive line at
- 17:02Speaker 3: a running game, he can do it.
- 17:04Speaker 1: And that's all way. Yeah, bears mentioned as well.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Mike Rabel returns to Tennessee and gets a big win
- 17:10Speaker 2: because all of a sudden, the Patriots are not looking
- 17:12Speaker 2: so bad themselves.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Lean the AFC East, so I still think to this.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Day Mike Rabel not being this division was a huge
- 17:20Speaker 2: benefit to the Jaguars and every other team because from coach.
- 17:24Speaker 3: They listen to. The Jaguars through their history have made their
- 17:27Speaker 3: share of errors where you scratch your head. In two
- 17:30Speaker 3: thousand and four they took Matt Jones instead of Aaron Rodgers, Right.
- 17:35Speaker 3: I mean, those sorts of things haunt you over time.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Oh Sorr two thousand and five, not having Mike Rabel,
- 17:42Speaker 3: letting that guy go. They're five and two his first
- 17:46Speaker 3: season up there, Drake May has played great football and
- 17:49Speaker 3: the Titans meanwhile, you know they've just fired their coach,
- 17:52Speaker 3: so next year's a learning curve for a young quarterback.
- 17:56Speaker 3: We've seen this ship twenty one, twenty two here. They
- 18:00Speaker 3: should never have fired Rabel. They should have given him
- 18:02Speaker 3: a chance to build it again, because boy, the Patriots
- 18:05Speaker 3: look like they're playing great football. Yeah.
- 18:06Speaker 4: I think a lot of franchises fall into this. You know,
- 18:09Speaker 4: you have some success with Rabel, which they did, you
- 18:12Speaker 4: don't quite get there and you think, oh, we got
- 18:15Speaker 4: to blow the whole thing up. If we don't win
- 18:17Speaker 4: the Super Bowl, then you know we have failed on
- 18:21Speaker 4: some level. You have failed if you win the Super Bowl.
- 18:23Speaker 4: But on another level, you have to realize it's hard
- 18:26Speaker 4: to win that Super Bowl. They were consistent franchised with Rabel,
- 18:29Speaker 4: and uh, you know they're not right now, so they're
- 18:34Speaker 4: they don't.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Sometimes you don't recover from those mistakes, and for our sake,
- 18:39Speaker 3: I hope that well, not just because I just remembered
- 18:41Speaker 3: that it was you know four that the Jaguars took
- 18:44Speaker 3: Reggie Williams a wide receiver instead of Ben Roethlisberger. Maybe
- 18:47Speaker 3: you've heard of them. Super Bowl Mvpno. Five they passed
- 18:49Speaker 3: to Aaron Rodgers, and we know the Jaguars trajectory since
- 18:53Speaker 3: that moment in time. When you let these things wait,
- 18:58Speaker 3: sometimes you don't recover from them big.
- 19:00Speaker 2: It's definitely hurting when you look and you play a
- 19:01Speaker 2: team like the Patriots or five and two right now,
- 19:03Speaker 2: and Rabel's got everything going, by the way, has klebon
- 19:05Speaker 2: Chase on playing amazing might be getting some big paycheck,
- 19:09Speaker 2: So that's interesting as well.
- 19:10Speaker 1: But say West, we'll tell you what's going on the
- 19:12Speaker 1: rest of the bye week after.

- 19:32Speaker 1: Welcome, Welcome back to jag Zamits bye week.
- 19:34Speaker 2: So for the players, they have to have I think
- 19:37Speaker 2: four days off, so they have Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- 19:39Speaker 2: They'll be in here today and then they'll be off,
- 19:41Speaker 2: which means we'll be off for a little bit as well.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And you guys will have the weekend off obviously from
- 19:45Speaker 2: Jaguars football. But what's everybody getting into for their bye week?
- 19:48Speaker 3: My youngest son plays small college football in Kansas and
- 19:51Speaker 3: it's the bye weeknd they have a home game. So
- 19:53Speaker 3: I am going to homecoming at Benedictine College.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Very nice, excited, head to North Carolina.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Okay, so John's on the move in one season on
- 20:00Speaker 1: the move, look out. I appreciate that.
- 20:02Speaker 2: So the shout outs John and Action are always my
- 20:04Speaker 2: favorite photos. I'm going to New England to see some
- 20:06Speaker 2: family and I'm gonna get an apple cider donut and
- 20:09Speaker 2: I'm very much looking forward.
- 20:11Speaker 3: To I've said that about four times.
- 20:12Speaker 1: That must be amazing. I'm excited.
- 20:14Speaker 2: I can I can arrange that I may eat them
- 20:17Speaker 2: on the plane.
- 20:17Speaker 1: But I also made it's stale.
- 20:18Speaker 3: But that if there is good as if there as
- 20:21Speaker 3: good as she says.
- 20:22Speaker 1: It's probab, it's worth it. We hope you all enjoy
- 20:27Speaker 1: your weekend away.
