- 0:00The reality is that I'm not sure that's actually true, because
- 0:06money isn't a replacement for self love.
- 0:24OK, love lies. Welcome to another episode of
- 0:28the Love Drive podcast. My name is Sean Galinos.
- 0:32How is your heart? Isn't that a sweet question?
- 0:36It's pretty woo woo. It's a little cringy, but if
- 0:40taken at face value, it's very sweet.
- 0:43So how is your heart? Answer in the comments or just
- 0:48take a moment and like pause this and sit with how are you
- 0:55doing? How is your heart doing?
- 0:58Are you yearning? Are you longing?
- 1:02Are you sad? Are you exhausted?
- 1:06Are you scared? How are you doing?
- 1:09How's your heart? How's mine?
- 1:13My heart is, I would say a little, I would say peaceful.
- 1:21There's a an expression in French.
- 1:24Well, it's not an expression, it's a word.
- 1:27It's fibril, having or showing a great deal of nervous excitement
- 1:32or energy. Yeah, my heart is a fibril,
- 1:37which is I'm a little, there's a little anxiety, there's a little
- 1:41excitement, there's a little nervousness, but I'm generally
- 1:48feeling pretty good, better than I felt in a long time.
- 1:52And I'm always like, uh oh, you know, waiting for the other shoe
- 1:55to drop. I don't know if you can relate
- 1:57to that. That's kind of where I'm at.
- 1:58I'm feeling good. There are good things on the
- 2:01horizon. It's funny, I was talking to a
- 2:04friend recently and I go, I go, everything's going to be OK.
- 2:08And they go, oh, everything is OK.
- 2:12Then I go right, because everything was OK in that
- 2:16moment. But it's funny to be sort of
- 2:18projecting that it's going to be OK in the future without
- 2:23recognizing that it's OK in the present.
- 2:26I suspect that most of us are doing OK.
- 2:30We're probably doing better than we think that we are I'm not a
- 2:33good judge of how I'm doing sometimes my heart is at peace.
- 2:38My heart is filled with excitement.
- 2:41There's a lot of unknowns in my future and that used to be
- 2:45really scary. And in this moment it, it kind
- 2:48of feels like a possibility and opportunity and a little bit of,
- 2:54dare I even say joy. So that's, that's where I'm at.
- 2:58I want to give you an update on my nicotine use.
- 3:02So I'm recording this a few days before you're hearing this
- 3:06episode. So today is day 8 of No Nicotine
- 3:11and I am very proud of myself. I am feeling better.
- 3:17I think this has quite a bit to do with my mood.
- 3:20I am feeling more. I am being touched by life in a
- 3:24way that I really appreciate. Last night I was watching a
- 3:27cooking show. I'm watching.
- 3:29I love cooking. I don't watch a lot of cooking
- 3:31shows. I'm really just sort of a Great
- 3:33British Bake Off super fan and I've re watched every season.
- 3:38I think I'm on my third re watch.
- 3:40There's like 12 or 15 seasons and now I'm just re I'm just
- 3:44sort of like re watching them. And someone said, oh, you should
- 3:48watch Culinary Class Wars on Netflix and I gave it a shot and
- 3:55basically it's fantastic. It's amazing.
- 3:57There's two seasons and it's pitting Chinese, Korean and
- 4:01Japanese for the most part, Asian cooks and chefs.
- 4:06So high end hotel and Michelin star chefs against like up and
- 4:12coming St. chefs and it's outrageous.
- 4:18It's fun. It's pretty wholesome.
- 4:22I like reality TV shows that are wholesome.
- 4:24I don't like like, I like love on the spectrum.
- 4:26I don't like love is blind, you know, I want things to be
- 4:29wholesome. I don't want anybody to be
- 4:31punching other people are kicking people when they're
- 4:34down. I want everybody to be uplifted,
- 4:36even if it's a competitive thing.
- 4:38Anyways, I was watching culinary class wars and feeling touched
- 4:43by just some of the contestants that, you know, have have
- 4:47battled it out for for weeks to be the best chef and, and either
- 4:50losing or winning and being so happy for them.
- 4:53And, and some of these people are a little arrogant and some
- 4:55of them are so earnest and share with so much compassion and
- 5:01gratitude and it just makes me cry.
- 5:06And with nicotine, I feel like I'm not as likely to be touched
- 5:11by life. And so I'm, I'm being touched by
- 5:14life a little bit more. My gummy bear consumption is up
- 5:18like 300 or 400%, which is OK. I'd rather be eating gummy bears
- 5:23than using Zen or vape. So day 8 doing well, Something
- 5:28that I've noticed that I'd like to change in my life these days,
- 5:33which you can probably relate to, is I'm scrolling way too
- 5:36much and it doesn't feel good. And I'm scrolling first thing in
- 5:40the morning. And what that does is it sets me
- 5:42up to scroll all day long and I, I hate it doesn't feel good.
- 5:46So I don't know what I'm going to do about that.
- 5:48I've have had periods of time where I've invited myself to do
- 5:53no screens from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, which is really nice because
- 5:57then it allows for a, a mellow, you know, sort of wind down of
- 6:01the day with reading and maybe writing and lighting candles,
- 6:07putting things away, taking a bath, whatever.
- 6:11And then because I wake up around like 6 or 630 a few hours
- 6:14in the morning to wind up, you know, have a cup of coffee, sit
- 6:17on the porch, journal, write A to do list, go for a walk,
- 6:21etcetera, etcetera. So that's something that I want
- 6:26to work on. I know that I feel better when I
- 6:29scroll less. And it's also kind of hard
- 6:31because it's part of my job. I have friends who have quit
- 6:34social media altogether, like they've deleted their Instagram
- 6:37and I'm legit jealous. And I've had periods of time
- 6:40where I've, I've been really diligent around my social media
- 6:43use where I would just use it for an hour a day to post stuff
- 6:46and respond to comments and then bounce.
- 6:49But I just don't have the discipline these days, so
- 6:53looking for a little bit more discipline.
- 6:55Excited for the moment when I can make that happen.
- 6:58Not too worried about it, just a little fine tuning to the
- 7:04behaviors that I am employing on a daily basis.
- 7:11Someone mentioned that these little mini episodes are like a
- 7:14longer voice memo from a friend and that makes me really happy.
- 7:18That's perfect. That's what I want these to be
- 7:22little updates, little stream of consciousness, a little Q&A and
- 7:27just a little a little time for you and I to to connect into
- 7:32deep in maybe our relationship. OK, so in therapy last week,
- 7:37this is sort of the thing I want to talk about today.
- 7:39I don't want to spend too much time on it, but I let's see how
- 7:44do I say this have been feeling unaccomplished in life.
- 7:52I've been feeling a little down on myself.
- 7:55Not this week, maybe earlier this week and maybe a little bit
- 7:58more last week. That I haven't really done much
- 8:03with my life. Hard to admit.
- 8:06Hard to admit that at 43, sometimes I get down on myself
- 8:11about what I have done, what I have to show for my life, what
- 8:16impact I'm having or like sort of, I don't know how to say,
- 8:20like what legacy I'm leaving. OK, I'm not dying, I've got
- 8:24time. But you know, there's a, there's
- 8:27a bit of a failure to launch feeling and it's, it's
- 8:30uncomfortable as a 43 year old man to be battling with these
- 8:35feelings of not being relevant, not accomplishing much.
- 8:41I have had a dad who was very successful in business and
- 8:48founded a company and hired a bunch of people and really grew
- 8:52that company in in the software development world and was, you
- 8:57could say very accomplished and very success driven.
- 9:01And he even received an award. This is sort of a joke in our
- 9:04family that he received in a world called Rusita Tal, total
- 9:11success. These are the shoes that I have
- 9:13to fill. A man who has received an award
- 9:17for total success, complete and utter success.
- 9:22And I don't feel that way. I talked to my therapist about
- 9:25this, and, you know, her question to me was, oh, OK,
- 9:29well, what does success look like to you?
- 9:32And can we make our own definitions of success?
- 9:37Here's the thing about my dad. He was very successful in
- 9:39business, but I don't think he was that happy.
- 9:43He also worked like a dog and woke up at 4:00 AM to send
- 9:46emails and was the kind of person who, you know, it's like,
- 9:52don't poke the bear. He's a nice guy until you cross
- 9:55him or threaten to or, or he you do something he doesn't like.
- 10:00And there's an element of sometimes having to step on
- 10:06people to get to the top. And I don't want to do that.
- 10:12There was a a few weeks ago, I thought that I might want to be
- 10:16the kind of like online creator that takes manosphere or
- 10:21misogynistic reels right from like these creators that are
- 10:24just like red pill dudes. And then I would stitch them and
- 10:28then kind of throw them under the bus or tell them why they're
- 10:31stupid and be the guy who kind of claps back on these people.
- 10:35And you've seen these creators, right?
- 10:36Like there's, there's a whole bunch of them.
- 10:38My favorite is Good Trouble. Good Trouble is really good at
- 10:42clapping back on Republicans and conservatives.
- 10:45There's a few other who is it, Blue Todd?
- 10:47I forget who it is. Anyways, I realize that's not
- 10:51me, that's not my style, and I'm more interested in spreading joy
- 10:59and positivity, not at the expense of taking other people
- 11:03down. Sure, I can bring these guys up,
- 11:06but I don't have to clap back and stitch their content.
- 11:08And so anyways, bit of a tangent, but even though I
- 11:13haven't built a successful company, even though I don't
- 11:17have a relationship or kids to show for it, which is sometimes
- 11:22people that they feel unaccomplished or they, they
- 11:25lack purpose in life, they think that having kids will bring them
- 11:30purpose. And it does to some people.
- 11:32And I've also heard from people who say, Oh no, I, I thought I
- 11:36was, I felt like I was lacking purpose and I decided to have
- 11:40kids and now I am lacking purpose.
- 11:42But with kids, just add kids, you know, like having the kids
- 11:47didn't drastically change their life.
- 11:50Having the relationship didn't drastically change their life.
- 11:53You know, there's the saying like wherever you go, there you
- 11:56are. Some people are like, oh, I'd be
- 11:58happier if I moved out of whatever small town and I moved
- 12:02to like Pittsburgh. And then you get to Pittsburgh
- 12:05and you go not better, just here now.
- 12:09Same Sean now in Pittsburgh, although I will say I, I lived
- 12:15in Flagstaff and, and, and that town was too small for me.
- 12:21And also the state of Arizona is just, it's not for me.
- 12:24I needed more Kuertos. I need more community.
- 12:27I needed more. I needed less heat and less, I
- 12:29needed more humidity for sure. So there is something to be said
- 12:32of like when you're unhappy in a certain situation, can you
- 12:37improve? Are there things you can do to
- 12:39improve that situation? Will that make you feel better?
- 12:42In some cases, yes. In some cases, no.
- 12:45Right. Like for me, if I'm like, oh, I
- 12:46want to make more money. And that's the thing that I've
- 12:51been talking to my therapist about.
- 12:52Like she goes, OK, well, well, how much money would you be
- 12:56happy with? And I said $200,000 a year, I
- 12:59would feel accomplished. The reality is that I'm not sure
- 13:02that's actually true because money isn't a replacement for
- 13:08self love. She even said this thing, she's
- 13:12like, oh it because I get a lot of positive validation around
- 13:17the work that I do. And I know that I have an impact
- 13:22in your life, in other people's lives.
- 13:25I know this because people tell me all the time.
- 13:29But the appreciation that I get, I don't let it in.
- 13:34It's like it passes through me like a strainer, right?
- 13:38Because I think at the root, I need to be OK with myself.
- 13:41No amount of external validation is going to make me feel
- 13:45accomplished. I think no amount of money is
- 13:47going to make me feel accomplished.
- 13:50I have to come up with my own definition of what that looks
- 13:53like for me. I don't know.
- 13:55Maybe you identify with this. Maybe you've have a hard time
- 14:01feeling like you're making an impact in this world or that
- 14:05your work matters, or even worse, that you matter.
- 14:10I know I matter, I know I, I leave a positive impact on, on
- 14:15my friends, on my loved ones, on some of you.
- 14:18I know that. But deep down inside, sometimes
- 14:22it's hard for me to, to, to feel that I know I'm contributing to
- 14:26life. And it's hard to live in the
- 14:29kind of world where we are judged on how productive we are,
- 14:34how much money we, we have. Being in a relationship equals
- 14:37success. There are markers that society
- 14:40says, OK, this person is positively contributing, this
- 14:45person is successful, this person has made it and it's a
- 14:49lot of pressure. And you could also have all
- 14:51those things and still not feel that great.
- 14:55I'm not sure I have like a nugget.
- 14:58All I want to do is share that that's how I'm feeling and maybe
- 15:01some of you are also feeling that way.
- 15:04I also try to sit with that. It's OK not to be it's OK not to
- 15:14be successful by other people's measures.
- 15:18I mean, that's what my my therapist is trying to get me to
- 15:21to find is like, how can I value the time that I'm spending on
- 15:27this world, on this earth, in this world?
- 15:31I don't know, this feels like a tangent.
- 15:33Let's move on. OK, This is outrageous.
- 15:39I'm bit of a rough transition, bit of a an abrupt transition.
- 15:45Somebody posted a question recently that's that said every
- 15:49time I Deep Throat I get a sore throat.
- 15:53Am I doing it wrong? And my response was, oh, I'm not
- 15:57sure because I'm not an expert on deep throating even though I
- 16:01have tried a couple times. I mean, I, I do think that
- 16:04getting blow jobs is much harder.
- 16:06It's more demanding than cunnilingus.
- 16:10You know, they don't call it a job for nothing.
- 16:12It's a much more active, I feel in my, in my opinion, it's a
- 16:15much more active activity. I kind of made a joke saying
- 16:20like, I don't know. But I guess if you keep
- 16:23repeatedly pounding the same area, then, yeah, it might feel
- 16:27kind of sore. And I was just, that was just a
- 16:29guess. And then I heard from several
- 16:33dentists and dental hygiene hygienists.
- 16:38I'm a dental hygienist. Yeah.
- 16:42That, in fact, you can bruise the back of your throat from
- 16:46deep throating. OK, just tuning in extra quickly
- 16:51after I'd already recorded this episode to add a little bit more
- 16:55Intel about this. I got Adm from somebody who
- 16:58said, and I quote. Hi, Sean.
- 17:00I work as a dental assistant. The bruising you're mentioning
- 17:03is called petechia, which happens to all folks who suck on
- 17:07penises and isn't isolated to only deep throating :).
- 17:11I love dentistry and also love discussing sex topics, so
- 17:14hopefully you found this interesting.
- 17:15Be well. And then she goes on to add the
- 17:18science behind it is geek out with me for a minute.
- 17:22People who suck on penises have to create suction with their
- 17:25mouths, and minutes of doing so will create broken capillaries
- 17:29and bleeding under the skin of the hard palate of our mouths.
- 17:33More reason to be kind to people who do this job.
- 17:38Thought you should know your dentist and anybody there who's
- 17:42looking in your mouth knows that you're a Dick sucker.
- 17:46And this has been visually confirmed so your dentist knows
- 17:50what you've been up to. Someone even said on V Day
- 17:55around Valentine's Day, extra bruising at the dental office.
- 18:00Can you imagine? I find that absolutely
- 18:06hilarious. And I think there's a way in
- 18:10which you can angle yourself where the cock doesn't hit the
- 18:14back of your throat. It slides down into the throat.
- 18:18And I usually feel like if you're doing like some type of
- 18:2169, the angle, you know what I'm saying?
- 18:25Like if you're flipped around, the angle of the penis is is
- 18:29such that it slides down the throat instead of hitting the
- 18:31back of the throat. Either that or head off of the
- 18:35bed is kind of a fun one. Not for everybody.
- 18:39If you've got a gag reflex this isn't going to work, but these
- 18:42are some positions that you can try to maybe not let it be known
- 18:50to your dentist that you're performing deep throats.
- 18:54I thought that was interesting. Also this is insane.
- 18:59Someone DM Ed me and said I'm allergic to semen.
- 19:01So I get a sore throat and mild tummy ache after swallowing.
- 19:05Usually lasts a couple of hours. If the semen ends up on my skin
- 19:08I get a mild red rash. Also not sure if anybody else
- 19:11has experienced this. I've never come across anybody
- 19:14in my life who's allergic to semen.
- 19:16OK hello, is anybody allergic to semen?
- 19:21Please leave a comment. DM me wildly interested.
- 19:27Are you allergic to semen? Yeah.
- 19:29Also the other thing is like, man, people really tell me just
- 19:32about anything really. Like this was out of the blue.
- 19:37Just. Hey.
- 19:37PS I'm allergic to semen. So that's why I get a sore
- 19:42throat. I mean, it's nice.
- 19:43They're just giving more data points and I love data.
- 19:46So that being said, leave a comment either on Spotify or
- 19:51YouTube. Leave a review on Apple Podcast.
- 19:56If you don't know how to do that, you can Google leave a
- 19:59review on a podcast and it'll tell you how to do it.
- 20:02And you can rate the podcast on Spotify.
- 20:05Right now we're at like 214 five stars on Spotify, which is
- 20:11great. And on Apple Podcast, I got 400
- 20:13comments and 4.9 stars. There's a few people there that
- 20:17were a little bit more critical and that's fine.
- 20:18You can be critical. You don't have to leave me 5
- 20:20stars. I'm happy for all the ratings
- 20:22and all the reviews. So please do that.
- 20:25Also leave me a message or a question at 415-494-9559.
- 20:34Or you can record an audio like an MP3 or something and then
- 20:37e-mail it to me at podcast@thelovedrive.com.
- 20:40Or you can just send me a message any of those places,
- 20:43preferably not my DMS. It's hard for me to like convert
- 20:47that over to something that I could play on the podcast.
- 20:50So podcast at the Love dr.com or 415 494-9559.
- 20:56Let me play you a sweet little message.
- 21:00Hi Sean, longtime fan of yours. I'm listening to the recent
- 21:06season of the podcast and I'm loving it.
- 21:08I'm halfway through the second episode, quickly moving on to
- 21:11the next one. I also listened to all of We Can
- 21:16Do Better. And yeah, I just wanted to send
- 21:18through some words of appreciation and affirmation.
- 21:22I'm a gal who has a lot of guys in her life.
- 21:24I have a long term committed partnership, but it's also an
- 21:27open relationship. So I have play partners as well.
- 21:31And then I've got a lot of really good close male friends
- 21:35in my life. And I send them all to you.
- 21:39I send them to your social media content, I send them to your
- 21:43podcast. I get them to go back and listen
- 21:45to We Can Do Better. So, yeah, you are also a not
- 21:49only a great resource for just women to listen, listen to, but
- 21:52also for them to send the men in their life to your way to get a
- 21:57little bit of additional emotional literacy.
- 21:59Or if they are really seeking, you know, deeper conversations
- 22:03or a safe space to just listen to a man or two guys talking
- 22:08about all of this stuff. It's just such a wonderful
- 22:11place. And it's just, yeah, you're
- 22:13really doing something special. And I just wanted to say thank
- 22:16you so much. And yeah, keep doing what you're
- 22:19doing. Well, Chucks, thank you.
- 22:24That means a lot to me. It's really, really sweet and I
- 22:27appreciate the time that you took to send that.
- 22:30My audience is heavily skewed female.
- 22:34I didn't plan that. I didn't set out to do this.
- 22:36I never, I'm not like a business, dude.
- 22:38I wasn't like, OK, I'm going to get this Instagram going and
- 22:41here's my avatar. I literally just started talking
- 22:44about what I wanted to talk about, which was sex, love,
- 22:46dating and relationships. And you know, lots of women
- 22:51followed because they resonated with my message.
- 22:55I would love, love, love to have more men following, listening,
- 23:01commenting, engaging with my content.
- 23:05It's been something that I've really wanted for a long time.
- 23:07So thank you for sending dudes my way and for sharing this.
- 23:10And hey, dudes that are listening, I know you're here.
- 23:13I know you are because I hear from you every now and then and
- 23:16it warms my heart to know that you're listening and to know
- 23:19that you're here. And I would actually, I would
- 23:21love more questions from dudes, more comments, more feedback
- 23:25because again, it's like it's most of it is from women.
- 23:27It's 90% from women and ladies. Do like this person did and
- 23:34share this with your male friends.
- 23:36I don't know how we're going to get there.
- 23:38We're going to how we're going to get men to pay attention
- 23:41more. It's not like I'm going to
- 23:42advertise at the Super Bowl and it's not like I'm going to
- 23:44pretend to be somebody that I'm not so that I'll be more
- 23:46palatable to men. I'm just going to keep doing my
- 23:49thing. But I think if we want more men
- 23:52to heal and to be more emotionally available, which
- 23:55which is kind of what I'm hearing from you all, that's
- 23:58what I'm hearing from you, you want men to be a safe space for
- 24:01you to be emotionally expressive.
- 24:05You also want men to be more emotionally expressive.
- 24:07You don't want to have to decode what the Hell's going on with
- 24:10them. Part of that work is going to,
- 24:12is going to be sharing this to them.
- 24:15And I know women, you've done, you've done more than your fair
- 24:18share of the labor. I, I know, I know.
- 24:21And here I am a man asking you to share this with men.
- 24:25And gosh, I, I don't know how we're going to get there without
- 24:30your support. It takes a village.
- 24:34And I know you've been doing the bulk of the work, I guess.
- 24:39Hey, hey, homies that are listening, homie, male homies.
- 24:42You also have to share with your male friends.
- 24:45And I have to learn how to talk about men in a way that doesn't
- 24:49alienate them or throw them under the bus.
- 24:51And I'll, I'll be honest, that's not a strength of mine.
- 24:54And it is something that I would like to get better at.
- 24:58So we all kind of have to share. Thank you for that message.
- 25:02That means a lot to me. I will also say I get a lot of
- 25:06messages from therapist that thank me for my work and that
- 25:09feels amazing. And they say they send their
- 25:11clients to to me when those clients need help with how to
- 25:15like talk about stuff and that feels awesome.
- 25:18I've had very few therapists say that my work is no good, that my
- 25:22work isn't good. Most my work seems to be almost
- 25:26unanimously. I'm just going to praise myself
- 25:29a little pat on the back. Almost unanimously approved by
- 25:34therapists. And and maybe that's because
- 25:37I've, I have 10 years of being a therapy client or that I
- 25:42intuitively understand some of the concepts or I've self-taught
- 25:45myself, you know, some of these concepts.
- 25:48So to all the therapists who are sharing my work, thank you.
- 25:52Yeah, it feels good. OK, got a question for you.
- 25:56Here we go. Hi, Sean.
- 25:58My name is Anna. I'm calling from Montreal.
- 26:01And my question is about kind of self advocacy.
- 26:05Like if you go on a date with someone and they, you know,
- 26:10they're too busy to follow up or they state that they're not
- 26:13interested or maybe you've gone on a few dates.
- 26:16Is there ever a scenario where it makes sense and it's
- 26:20worthwhile to advocate for yourself a little bit?
- 26:23If you have a really good feeling about this person and
- 26:25you feel the connection and you think they feel it too, is it
- 26:30ever dignified to ask for another date?
- 26:34I have never done this. I tend to accept people's no or
- 26:38lack of interest, and I also have just been having a few
- 26:42situations replayed where I feel like, no.
- 26:46I really think if we went on one more date, you know, then it
- 26:50would be either clearer to me that I'm not interested in this
- 26:53person, or maybe my sense that this has potential would surface
- 26:59and the other person would see it too.
- 27:01Thank you. You're welcome.
- 27:04Great question. Couple things I feel like it's
- 27:07this is 2 two different questions.
- 27:10Look, if they say they're not interested, then we don't try to
- 27:16convince them to go on another date just regardless of how good
- 27:20you thought the date was, right? Because we're not in the
- 27:24business of convincing people to spend time with us, right?
- 27:29And, and I heard you say like, I respect people's nose.
- 27:32That's great. If someone, if you say, hey, do
- 27:34you want to go on another date and they say no, you kind of
- 27:37just got to be like, OK, Ouch. But I understand, take good
- 27:40care. And that's not your person.
- 27:43The other scenario, which I think is probably a little bit
- 27:46more prevalent in your life, is that like you're going on a
- 27:49couple dates and the person sort of isn't really following up or
- 27:54doesn't seem to be interested. They haven't told you that
- 27:56they're not interested. They're just, they're not
- 28:00pursuing you. I think this is a more common
- 28:03scenario. This probably happens.
- 28:04It's like after a date or two, maybe something was out of
- 28:10alignment, maybe the chemistry wasn't there for them and so
- 28:16they're unlikely to pursue. But they they're not close to
- 28:21the idea of seeing you again. If that's the case, then yes,
- 28:25you can absolutely ask. If you're unclear about where
- 28:28you're at and it's not a no for you and you kind of want it to
- 28:31be a yes and you're a woman, well, actually it doesn't matter
- 28:38who you are. You absolutely should ask for
- 28:40the for the second or the third date just to see what happens
- 28:43because you said I might get more clarity about how I feel
- 28:47about them. And that's the goal.
- 28:50The goal is for you to find out how you feel about them.
- 28:53So yeah, ask them on another date.
- 28:55I mean, if, if they say no, then it's a no.
- 28:58It's interesting, though. There's a little part of you
- 28:59that that's like, hey, I'm really good.
- 29:01I'm a I'm a catch and one more date.
- 29:05They might realize how good I am.
- 29:09And that's also not a game that we want to play.
- 29:11If, if someone doesn't automatically recognize that
- 29:15you're somebody worth spending more time with, not that you're
- 29:18like the hottest shit since sliced bread, but people should
- 29:23be naturally curious about wanting to spend more time with
- 29:25you. And if they're not, we're not in
- 29:28the business of convincing people to spend more time with
- 29:31us. I used to pursue more than I do
- 29:33now. If someone's not interested, I'm
- 29:36not going to chase them. I think I used to much more.
- 29:40I think I'm just not in a place to want to do that anymore.
- 29:43But this is something that you've never tried before, and
- 29:47so try it and see what happens. You might find that you don't
- 29:50you don't like being in that role, in the role of pursuer.
- 29:52And that's OK. It's absolutely fine.
- 29:55I'm less interested in pursuing these days.
- 29:57OK, that's my answer. It's not the best answer, but
- 30:01it's honest. OK, that's it.
- 30:05We're wrapping up here because I have to move out of this
- 30:11apartment in Berkeley. This is the last time you'll see
- 30:13this background. This last time you'll see this
- 30:15background. Next week I'm heading to San
- 30:17Francisco and then later that week I'm headed to Bangkok,
- 30:20Thailand and a little island to celebrate my friend's 50th
- 30:24birthday. We're also going to be there for
- 30:26Songcrat, which is Thai New Year's, which also happens to be
- 30:29like a huge three day water festival where everybody just
- 30:32like like throws water balloons and super soakers at each other
- 30:36for a few. They're not throwing the Super
- 30:38soakers, they're using super soakers to, to wet people.
- 30:42And so I'm doing that. And then after that, I might
- 30:45spend 5 days or so in Berlin and then spend maybe a week or so in
- 30:49France. So very exciting.
- 30:51April because I'm boppin. I'm boppin.
- 30:54So I might record a couple episodes from the road.
- 30:56I'm going to bring my microphone, my headphones, and
- 30:59see what I can come up with on the road.
- 31:02We have moved to a weekly podcast release schedule and the
- 31:06episodes are being released on Thursdays.
- 31:08There's a good, there's a good reason for that.
- 31:10I used to release my episodes on Tuesdays.
- 31:13Well, for this last three weeks we were doing double drops, but
- 31:17that's just sort of a relaunch special.
- 31:18My hopes is that I can keep doing double drops or continue
- 31:21doing double drops solo episode and a guest episode once I move
- 31:25back into a place, a fixed address with a studio.
- 31:31And that's not going to happen till at least July.
- 31:33So until then, we're doing single drop episodes on
- 31:37Thursdays. But then I can also update you
- 31:39on the therapy sessions that I have that week.
- 31:42So that's interesting. That's happening.
- 31:44And then next week's podcast will be with none other than
- 31:48Claire Pearlman. We had a fantastic in person
- 31:52interview on this bed right here and we talked all about sex.
- 31:56We answered questions about squirting, about squirting.
- 32:01We talked a lot about squirting. What else did we talk about?
- 32:05We talked about how often you should get tested.
- 32:08We talked about butt play, how to bring up more butt stuff in
- 32:13your life. We talked about all sorts of
- 32:16stuff. Just trust me, Claire is
- 32:18fantastic. We had a blast.
- 32:19We're going to do it again because we literally could have
- 32:22talked for three hours and that's a it's so fun when that
- 32:25happens. So that's next week.
- 32:28Until then, have a beautiful week, have a beautiful weekend
- 32:30and take good care.
