- 0:00Speaker 1: With Stu Gotts and Hawkman.
- 0:03Speaker 2: So I had an idea for today's podcast, Stu Gots,
- 0:07Speaker 2: I had an.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Idea, Okay, an idea, right.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You know I'm an idea guy.
- 0:11Speaker 3: I know you're an idea guy. Yes, you have great ideas.
- 0:14Speaker 3: You've always had great ideas. I'm excited for this idea.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Yes, well, this one didn't work out as well as
- 0:20Speaker 2: I thought it was going to work out, and so
- 0:22Speaker 2: this might not be the best pod that we've ever done.
- 0:25Speaker 2: But listen, you can't bat a thousand, you know.
- 0:29Speaker 3: No, we can't bat a thout. We're pretty damn close, though, Hawk,
- 0:32Speaker 3: we are.
- 0:32Speaker 2: We're pretty close.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Yes, I feel like we're batting nine to ninety seven.
- 0:36Speaker 2: You know. I believe in underselling and then under delivering
- 0:40Speaker 2: as well, and that might be what this pod does.
- 0:44Speaker 3: So I went to go.
- 0:46Speaker 2: See the Michael Jackson movie this weekend, and it's fantastic.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Have you seen it?
- 0:52Speaker 3: I have not seen it. I'm dying to see it.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I will eventually see it. I don't like seeing movies
- 0:57Speaker 3: in theaters anymore. I got to be honest with you.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I love seeing movies in theaters.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I know you do.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I go to the you know the minds nerd that
- 1:06Speaker 2: we go to. You go to the IPIC. Yes, got
- 1:08Speaker 2: the waiter and the waitress service, you got the loungers.
- 1:11Speaker 2: They give you the blanket. It's what are you afraid of? Coronavirus?
- 1:15Speaker 3: The blanket in particular, Yes, the coronavirus. Listen, when I
- 1:19Speaker 3: go to a movie, I wanted to be bare bones. Okay,
- 1:22Speaker 3: give me a coke, give me a tub of popcorn.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I don't need blankets, I don't need reclining seats. I
- 1:28Speaker 3: just want to see a movie. Movies have changed, they have.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, no, me and Laurie two tickets to
- 1:34Speaker 2: Michael Jackson and dinner and whatever. It's about two hundred
- 1:38Speaker 2: and fifty bucks. I'm not even kidding. I wish it
- 1:42Speaker 2: was kidding. It's like, but it's so luxurious, right anyway,
- 1:47Speaker 2: But what do you do?
- 1:47Speaker 3: Like the weight staff comes like you're in the middle
- 1:50Speaker 3: of the movie. There's a big park coming up, big
- 1:52Speaker 3: scene coming up at someone's handing you a hangar steak,
- 1:55Speaker 3: Like what happened there?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Angers?
- 2:00Speaker 3: It was the only stake to choose. I was thinking
- 2:04Speaker 3: Porta as the sentence was coming out. I was going
- 2:07Speaker 3: through the Rolladexes. Of all the steaks and hangar steaks
- 2:10Speaker 3: seemed to be the one that would make high laugh
- 2:12Speaker 3: the most. I was right with a huge man.
- 2:15Speaker 2: In comedy, Seinfeld talks about this, you could have the
- 2:18Speaker 2: same exact joke. If you replace one word with another one,
- 2:22Speaker 2: the joke may go from a five to a ten. Hanger.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Steak was absolutely perfect. That was absolutely perfect, Yes, Taylor Hauck.
- 2:32Speaker 4: I actually had free movie tickets to go see Devilware's
- 2:34Speaker 4: product too with my girlfriend recently, and she was so excited.
- 2:37Speaker 4: She was like, look at these free movie tickets. And then,
- 2:39Speaker 4: like you mentioned, I went to the concession line and
- 2:43Speaker 4: the bill was like one hundred and fifty dollars. Now
- 2:44Speaker 4: I'm looking around, like those free movie tickets they save
- 2:47Speaker 4: me what thirty five dollars? I feel like I still
- 2:49Speaker 4: came out on the losing end of this.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not, but even you know again, you go
- 2:54Speaker 2: to the IPIC, you're not waiting in any concession line.
- 2:57Speaker 2: The concession line comes to you. I mean, what are
- 2:59Speaker 2: you doing, Taylor, working with the Stu Gotts. You're a
- 3:01Speaker 2: national network radio star. Get out of the concession line.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Let the concession line come to you, that's exactly anyway
- 3:08Speaker 2: we're gonna We're gonna run out of time before we
- 3:11Speaker 2: even start, although I can't imagine many people are still
- 3:14Speaker 2: listening because I have completely obliterated anything that might happen
- 3:18Speaker 2: on this podcast by coming right out of the box
- 3:20Speaker 2: and saying it's not gonna deliver. But here was my concept.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I go see the Michael Jackson movie. I love it.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I'm into MJ all of a sudden, I'm listening to
- 3:28Speaker 2: his music over the weekend, and I say, you know what,
- 3:32Speaker 2: I'm gonna pull a couple things that are Michael Jackson
- 3:35Speaker 2: related for the with Stu Gotts and Hawkman podcast, And
- 3:40Speaker 2: unfortunately I can't find the two things that I really
- 3:43Speaker 2: wanted to play. One of them was and I don't
- 3:46Speaker 2: know if you even remember this. Do you remember Jermaine
- 3:49Speaker 2: Jackson being a guest on the show.
- 3:52Speaker 3: I remember I remember him being a guest on the show.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I don't remember how we arrived at Jermaine Jackson, so.
- 3:58Speaker 2: So I think think he had a book or an
- 4:01Speaker 2: album that he wanted to promote. But something fascinating happened
- 4:05Speaker 2: with Jermaine Jackson because he was very similar to his
- 4:09Speaker 2: brother that entire family. They're weird. Yeah, they're weird family
- 4:12Speaker 2: They've got It's one of the things you have to
- 4:14Speaker 2: do when you're watching the Michael Jackson movies. You have
- 4:16Speaker 2: to set aside the weirdness that you know about him
- 4:19Speaker 2: and just kind of enjoy the music.
- 4:21Speaker 3: But the entirety of the family hawk just so we're clear.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I mean, they were such big stars at such young ages,
- 4:27Speaker 3: it's almost impossible to live some sort of a normal life,
- 4:31Speaker 3: you know.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Correct, Yeah, and in a just a I think a
- 4:35Speaker 2: terrible father and not a great home life. And and
- 4:39Speaker 2: Jermaine Jackson ended up being I think on the strange
- 4:43Speaker 2: level of Michael. And so we did an interview with him,
- 4:48Speaker 2: and do you remember how it ended.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 4:53Speaker 2: He didn't know how to hang up a phone.
- 4:55Speaker 3: What that's? What?
- 4:56Speaker 5: That? Yeah?
- 4:57Speaker 2: And I cannot find it. I don't know why I
- 4:59Speaker 2: can't find but it was the end of the interview
- 5:02Speaker 2: and it was kind of like he had lost interest
- 5:05Speaker 2: in the interview. I remember he dan just kind of
- 5:09Speaker 2: being gobsmacked at the end of the interview because it
- 5:12Speaker 2: sounded like he just laid his phone down on the
- 5:17Speaker 2: counter and went about his business. If anyone can find
- 5:21Speaker 2: this audio. Mike Ryan may have it. This may be
- 5:24Speaker 2: like right as I was getting ready to leave, and
- 5:27Speaker 2: so all the archives were switching over. I don't know.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I can't find it, but if anyone remembers it, you
- 5:32Speaker 2: can radio Mark Hackman on Instagram is the best way
- 5:34Speaker 2: to get a hold of me. But you can em
- 5:37Speaker 2: me if you have it, or if you know who
- 5:39Speaker 2: might have it, or if you even remember it. But
- 5:41Speaker 2: Jermaine Jackson at the end of the interview never said goodbye,
- 5:45Speaker 2: just kind of you could tell put a phone down
- 5:49Speaker 2: and then like started making a smoothie or something.
- 5:52Speaker 3: It's a very dangerous game depending on the next thing
- 5:54Speaker 3: you're gonna do. You know what I'm saying.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Absolutely, but I can't find it.
- 5:58Speaker 3: So that's well, Taylor's looking for it. He is, what
- 6:03Speaker 3: are you doing with the sharpie? Took the sharpie out
- 6:05Speaker 3: of his mouth for a second. He did that hark off.
- 6:07Speaker 2: But the no Jermaine Jacksons on that I've gotten to
- 6:09Speaker 2: that that's what I had originally intended. Yes, right, yes,
- 6:14Speaker 2: I've gotten this request a number of times from dms
- 6:18Speaker 2: from listeners to the podcast. Huh saying do you remember
- 6:22Speaker 2: a song that you did where you know, in wanna
- 6:25Speaker 2: be starting something. MJ's got Mama say mamasa ma makusa.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Wow, you nailed that. Yes, well, I.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Did a parody song. Do you remember Mohammed Massaquay?
- 6:36Speaker 3: I do, yes, And I remember this song from.
- 6:41Speaker 2: The Cleveland Browns and I think it was a Rihanna
- 6:44Speaker 2: song where she sampled Mama say ma Masama makusa. But
- 6:49Speaker 2: somewhere in the song, I break out with Mama say
- 6:53Speaker 2: mo Mohammed masa kwai because he had just had like
- 6:56Speaker 2: two big games in a row. And I don't remember it.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I can't find the song.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Oh geez, I don't have it. I mean, you can't
- 7:03Speaker 3: find anything.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I mean, I'm pretty sure it was a parody of Rihanna,
- 7:07Speaker 2: Please don't stop the music, and so I gotta mark
- 7:13Speaker 2: that off. It was the other thing that I really
- 7:15Speaker 2: wanted to get to.
- 7:16Speaker 3: You always find that, sharpie, that's for sure, I mean.
- 7:18Speaker 2: On this podcast. Yeah, So here's what we're stuck with
- 7:22Speaker 2: because I'm fucking barreling ahead with Michael Jackson related Levotard
- 7:27Speaker 2: Show with Stu gottson Hawkman. I could find one fake
- 7:33Speaker 2: Michael Jackson call in. You know, ten years of archives
- 7:37Speaker 2: that I have one, Okay, and it was about Nick
- 7:41Speaker 2: Saban and it's not even very good. But I was
- 7:45Speaker 2: just shocked that this is the only Michael Jackson related
- 7:48Speaker 2: fake that I could find in the entire archive that
- 7:52Speaker 2: I have. Go just for shits and giggles, go ahead
- 7:55Speaker 2: and play this fake.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Michael Jackson, You're on seven ninety.
- 8:00Speaker 6: I'm gonna make a change for once. I won't lie,
- 8:07Speaker 6: gonna sleep, bond Wood, gonna be a tough guy who
- 8:11Speaker 6: don't wear a tie. As I turn up the brim
- 8:17Speaker 6: on my tone Panama hat, I called the cody fast.
- 8:24Speaker 6: If heat is melting my Terry nippleshy I says.
- 8:29Speaker 4: All right, f.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I am a one.
- 8:34Speaker 6: Man free show, and Terry said, we go because she
- 8:39Speaker 6: don't like Pompa. No, I'm lying to the fans and money.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Edwin told Kys on my child, Oh.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Shucks, I think a man of the schedule. It's the
- 8:56Speaker 6: third king with a twelve gauge and.
- 8:58Speaker 5: A better bad.
- 9:02Speaker 6: You can look at myself, come on, yeah, you can
- 9:07Speaker 6: look at myself. Where at.
- 9:13Speaker 3: He really got us with that Pompaa line? He did Papa.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Line was buddy, and then I like Dan at the end,
- 9:18Speaker 2: just going come on.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Yes, that's Dan saying enough enough enough of this song,
- 9:22Speaker 3: Hawk enough. He's terrible.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Mark that off there. That was fake, Michael Jackson. The
- 9:27Speaker 2: best we could do.
- 9:28Speaker 3: All right, Now, Taylor has something here. Perhaps he found something.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I don't know how.
- 9:31Speaker 4: We have a development, a potential tease for next episode.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Board up.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Ricardo just looked at me, who's a lifelong fan of
- 9:39Speaker 4: The Guitar Show, which loves it. He said, I might
- 9:42Speaker 4: have that, Mama say song, and I go, well, and
- 9:45Speaker 4: he goes on a hard drive somewhere in my house.
- 9:47Speaker 3: God bless you.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yes, listen, the truth of the matter is I may
- 9:50Speaker 2: have it on a hard drive in my house as well.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I just don't have the effort. I don't have the
- 9:55Speaker 2: will to put in the effort to find it. But
- 9:58Speaker 2: if you can find it, that would be ter because
- 10:00Speaker 2: it's one of my best works ever. In fact, the
- 10:03Speaker 2: next episode that I want to do, because I've stumbled
- 10:05Speaker 2: into as I was looking for that some of my
- 10:08Speaker 2: parody songs, ah, and I want to play some of
- 10:11Speaker 2: them because some of them are absolutely brutal and some
- 10:14Speaker 2: of them are really good. Yeah, but I want to
- 10:16Speaker 2: revisit those. Okay, regardless, this is the Michael Jackson episode. Yes,
- 10:20Speaker 2: So now I start frantically searching for the Jermaine Jackson thing.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I'm like, I know I have to have the Jermaine
- 10:27Speaker 2: Jackson because I remember just sitting there in amazement. We
- 10:30Speaker 2: were like, does he know that he didn't hang up
- 10:32Speaker 2: the phone, like he's still there and we were still
- 10:34Speaker 2: talking to him. The only thing that I can find
- 10:38Speaker 2: in the archives for Jermaine is a Germaine O'Neill drop.
- 10:46Speaker 5: Hello, this is Jermaine O'Neill of the Indiana Faces. And
- 10:49Speaker 5: I don't know why, but you listen to the Dan
- 10:51Speaker 5: Levatar show.
- 10:53Speaker 2: So there you go. That's the entire germane file.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Yes, what are you checking with your show? RP? Now?
- 11:00Speaker 2: What'd you just check it? So I marked off, I
- 11:02Speaker 2: played the Germaine drop and I played Fichael.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Think Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson.
- 11:12Speaker 2: But what I did stumble into in my search for
- 11:16Speaker 2: Michael Jackson related content, yes, was the first ever appearance
- 11:21Speaker 2: on the show by Don King.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Oh wow, what.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Don King in the movie? I had forgotten this? But
- 11:28Speaker 2: Don King was the promoter for the Jackson's Victory tour,
- 11:32Speaker 2: and so Michael didn't want a tour with his brothers anymore,
- 11:35Speaker 2: and they had done that Victory album, which he didn't love.
- 11:38Speaker 2: But this was going to be a big tour and
- 11:41Speaker 2: Joe Jackson strong arm Michael essentially into doing one more
- 11:46Speaker 2: tour with his brothers, and he didn't want to do
- 11:49Speaker 2: with that. Remember that's the tour that was sponsored by
- 11:51Speaker 2: Pepsi and Michael had a film that commercial for Pepsi
- 11:55Speaker 2: and his hair caught on fire. But that was all
- 11:58Speaker 2: Don King related. Don King local guy. I had been
- 12:00Speaker 2: on the show a number of time, but we had
- 12:02Speaker 2: not had him on yet, and he was coming on
- 12:06Speaker 2: the show. I just found this to be fascinating. It's
- 12:08Speaker 2: not that funny other than it's Don King talking, which
- 12:11Speaker 2: is always entertaining. But he was suggesting on this interview
- 12:18Speaker 2: with you and Dan that Joe Jackson should get a
- 12:21Speaker 2: Nobel Peace Prize. Yeah, and as ridiculous as that, well
- 12:29Speaker 2: it's not as ridiculous as my time, it's fucking ridiculous.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Would get a Nobel Peace Prize.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Don King would get a Nobel Peace Prize is patently absurd.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Sorry that Joe Jackson, I was going to say.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Because he was not a good guy, shoeless Joe Jackson
- 12:45Speaker 3: was more deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize than Joe Jackson.
- 12:49Speaker 3: How about that, I he cheated to what a world series?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Here it is Don King suggesting Michael Jackson's dad get
- 12:56Speaker 2: a Nobel Peace Prize, But it.
- 12:58Speaker 5: All stems from that. I consider two Nobel Peace Prize winners,
- 13:03Speaker 5: and I say that about Captain and Joseph Jackson, who
- 13:07Speaker 5: were the parents of this iconic family in a super
- 13:12Speaker 5: iconic Michael Jackson, because they raised nine kids, they had ten,
- 13:16Speaker 5: they lost one. And so what Joseph Jackson did was
- 13:20Speaker 5: a steel meal worker. He stayed there with his family,
- 13:23Speaker 5: he worked with his wife.
- 13:24Speaker 7: Who was ill, and he raised up these nine kids,
- 13:27Speaker 7: and he trained them, and he educated them and disciplined them,
- 13:31Speaker 7: loved them to death, introduced them to education, into enlightenment
- 13:36Speaker 7: and religion.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Did you just give Joe Jackson the Nobel Prize, the.
- 13:40Speaker 5: Nobel Prize for being a black man in white America
- 13:45Speaker 5: that could continue to hold a family together with nine
- 13:49Speaker 5: kids from a steel meal job and to be able
- 13:53Speaker 5: to love the discipline and to nurture and to grow
- 13:57Speaker 5: a family of iconic circumstance.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I'm not certain that's an actual Nobel Peace Prize category
- 14:04Speaker 2: that Don King was referencing there, Yes, being a good parent.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Tell you what, he made a great case for Joe
- 14:13Speaker 2: Jackson being somebody that he wasn't.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yes, he also made me rethink whether or not Joe
- 14:17Speaker 3: Jackson should actually get a Nobel Peace Price.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Posthumously. Of course, yes, yes, but most people. So now
- 14:27Speaker 2: I start going down because I can't find any Jackson stuff,
- 14:30Speaker 2: just some tertiary stuff with Don King. But I start
- 14:32Speaker 2: going down this rabbit hole of Don King stuff. I
- 14:35Speaker 2: think everybody who listened to the show even casually knows
- 14:40Speaker 2: that Don King drop because he got the name wrong.
- 14:43Speaker 2: This is I mean, this is an iconic SoundBite from
- 14:47Speaker 2: the Levattard show, The Don King Drop, all right, this.
- 14:51Speaker 5: Is Don King. Only in America could a radio show
- 14:54Speaker 5: be this bad. Don't worry, Dan, I'm with you, Dan,
- 14:58Speaker 5: Leopod it's a bad radio station. What's what's in the name?
- 15:05Speaker 2: Used to call him leotard?
- 15:06Speaker 3: After that, I love that Don Camp pronounced his last name,
- 15:09Speaker 3: and therefore the entire station is terrible. That means it's
- 15:16Speaker 3: classic Don I mean.
- 15:18Speaker 2: So, I don't know if a lot of people have
- 15:21Speaker 2: heard this lesser known mispronunciation of Dan's name from Don
- 15:28Speaker 2: King in that same interview. That was a drop we
- 15:31Speaker 2: asked him to do after the interview. But during the
- 15:33Speaker 2: interview he called him Dan the Batar, and I don't know,
- 15:39Speaker 2: and I don't know how he got that into his head,
- 15:41Speaker 2: but he did it a number of times. But here
- 15:43Speaker 2: is the one that jumps out at me, Don King
- 15:46Speaker 2: calling him Dan the Batar.
- 15:48Speaker 5: It's about America, man in the show is big, but
- 15:51Speaker 5: it ain't big as America. But we gonna make it
- 15:53Speaker 5: bigg as America because we got Dan Batad and we got.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Diket, he announced to gods.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, there's a I don't know if Taylor
- 16:06Speaker 2: will be able to put the picture on the podcast
- 16:08Speaker 2: or whatever, but there's a picture of me, you, Dan
- 16:11Speaker 2: and Don King that I sent to him that we
- 16:13Speaker 2: can put on the on the YouTube feed or whatever.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Have you seen that picture? Stu Gots you remember that picture?
- 16:21Speaker 3: Not in a long time?
- 16:22Speaker 1: Now.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I remember the picture. I haven't seen it in a
- 16:24Speaker 3: long time. And you get to show it to me
- 16:25Speaker 3: right now.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I'll hold it up to the camera.
- 16:28Speaker 3: It is I mean, geez, wow, we look young, Don looks.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Don King's still alive by the way, still living in
- 16:37Speaker 2: South Florida. Incredible. Yes, anyway, that was Don King's first
- 16:44Speaker 2: appearance on the show, and we actually sued him because
- 16:50Speaker 2: he was so long winded. As you know, Don King
- 16:53Speaker 2: is he's a promoter. Yes, yes, he's a promoter. He's
- 16:56Speaker 2: maybe the greatest promoter in the history of promotion.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Right, Yes, I would maybe away from that and say
- 17:01Speaker 3: he is the greatest promoter in the history of promoting.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, I mean even that that. I mean
- 17:06Speaker 2: you see him. He's played in this Michael Jackson movie
- 17:09Speaker 2: and he's played exactly the way Don King. We all
- 17:13Speaker 2: know him. But this is I like this because this
- 17:16Speaker 2: is Don King getting sued. He's giving some long winded answer.
- 17:20Speaker 2: And what happened was I sued him and he kept
- 17:23Speaker 2: on talking, and I sued him again right as he
- 17:26Speaker 2: was ending, and it caught Dan off guard because the
- 17:29Speaker 2: sue came at the time where it was time for
- 17:32Speaker 2: Dan to talk. Dan breaks breaks character a little bit.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Here's how that went.
- 17:36Speaker 5: He's the man who are dedicated and committed to me
- 17:38Speaker 5: in five time. Anyway came around the world. We gonna
- 17:41Speaker 5: find out on Saturday Night because all of these guys,
- 17:44Speaker 5: look at the way he come in it. So, I
- 17:45Speaker 5: mean all of us is over forty and give us
- 17:47Speaker 5: all a chance.
- 17:49Speaker 3: So an ill timed sue, but perfectly time Sue.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yes, King starts the giggle as well.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but he doesn't know what he's laughing at.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Hoc.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I mean so.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Obviously my Mark Hawkman executive producer mind at this point
- 18:11Speaker 2: during the interview, the first interview with Don King again,
- 18:15Speaker 2: he became a fairly regular visitor to the show.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Well.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Dan loved boxing, he loved having Don on. Don most
- 18:22Speaker 3: of the times was a good guest, but always had
- 18:24Speaker 3: a big fight to promote. Dan was weird about boxing.
- 18:28Speaker 3: He turned into like Larry Merchant, Like the second there
- 18:31Speaker 3: was a big match that was announced, all of a sudden,
- 18:34Speaker 3: he became the biggest boxing analyst on the planet.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Was weird man. Yeah. Don King always had stuff to promote,
- 18:41Speaker 2: and because he was in South Florida, you know, he
- 18:44Speaker 2: would lean on South Florida radio and he realized that
- 18:47Speaker 2: there was a good audience with the Levotard show. This
- 18:51Speaker 2: is it just because I was searching for Michael Jackson
- 18:54Speaker 2: stuff and it took me down to the Don King
- 18:58Speaker 2: rabbit hole. This is is Don King talking about a
- 19:04Speaker 2: hamburger being like Michael Jackson.
- 19:07Speaker 5: The hamburger is colorless. It is something that you eat
- 19:10Speaker 5: for nursement, for the soul and the body. And so
- 19:13Speaker 5: a good hamburger is like a Michael Jackson song. Hey,
- 19:16Speaker 5: get down with it. I'll be there. Just call my
- 19:19Speaker 5: name Hamburger.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Here I am, and I remember using that. Call my
- 19:28Speaker 2: name Hamburger, and there I am.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Anyway, Yeah, what are you checking off?
- 19:34Speaker 2: As I explained in the beginning, because I only have
- 19:37Speaker 2: one thing, I checked off every box area on what
- 19:40Speaker 2: I considered maybe our worst episode yet. But what happened
- 19:46Speaker 2: was as this interview was happening, I think I started
- 19:49Speaker 2: to realize as an executive producer, I think I have
- 19:52Speaker 2: a new big open here. There's so many good Don
- 19:55Speaker 2: King moments going on in this interview. We sued them
- 19:59Speaker 2: Mike Jackson's a hamburger, Leotard, Dan the buitar. I just
- 20:06Speaker 2: there was a lot going on. So I did end
- 20:09Speaker 2: up turning it into a big open, which I think
- 20:11Speaker 2: we used in regular rotation of the Big Opens for
- 20:15Speaker 2: like several months.
- 20:16Speaker 3: So a new big open was a big deal. Back
- 20:19Speaker 3: in the day, Hawk would announce to us that he
- 20:21Speaker 3: had a brand new Big Open. They were usually based
- 20:24Speaker 3: around a singular character on the show. Chuck Norris was
- 20:27Speaker 3: one of them, and he would turn it in, Yes,
- 20:30Speaker 3: he would turn it into a spectacular Big Open. And
- 20:33Speaker 3: if anyone talked during the Big Open the initial airing
- 20:37Speaker 3: of the Big Open, me and Dan would yell at
- 20:39Speaker 3: them because we wanted to hear it, because Hawk is
- 20:41Speaker 3: a master.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Well I had, but I had to warn you guys,
- 20:45Speaker 2: because every time I would play a big Open, if
- 20:47Speaker 2: the guys had heard it a number of times like
- 20:49Speaker 2: that was just another two minutes that everybody could get
- 20:52Speaker 2: ready for the show. And so I would be like, hey,
- 20:54Speaker 2: new open, nobody talk, New Open, nobody talk, and I'd
- 20:57Speaker 2: be warning you guys, new Open, nobody toal so you
- 21:00Speaker 2: guys can react off it because you've never heard it before.
- 21:03Speaker 3: And if I'm being honest here, and I rarely am,
- 21:05Speaker 3: but if I'm being honest here, I will tell you
- 21:08Speaker 3: I was always the guy talking.
- 21:09Speaker 2: So I was sitting in there, he's talking, He's cut
- 21:15Speaker 2: his hanger steak. You can't get a word in that here.
- 21:20Speaker 2: It is the don King Big Open in our Michael
- 21:24Speaker 2: Jackson celebration somehow.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Attention. This is the Dan Lebata Show.
- 21:31Speaker 5: The show is big, but it ain't big as America.
- 21:33Speaker 5: But we gonna make it bigg as America because we
- 21:35Speaker 5: got Dan be goonden.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Attention, Dan Levatide.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Remember the animal. Remember Pearl Harbor. Do you surrender? Do
- 21:47Speaker 5: you surrender? I have not yet begin to faint.
- 21:49Speaker 1: This is the real base.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Give me liberty, your depth. We love America, We love
- 21:56Speaker 5: the American people. We have to change the ways of
- 21:58Speaker 5: the American people. How do you do that? Michael Checker stays,
- 22:03Speaker 5: look in the mirror, Look in the mirror, and then
- 22:05Speaker 5: you will find out that if you can make that change,
- 22:08Speaker 5: everybody can make that change. The hamburger is colorless. It
- 22:18Speaker 5: is something that you eat for nursing, for the soul
- 22:20Speaker 5: in the body. And so a good hamburger is like
- 22:23Speaker 5: a Michael Jackson's song. Let's get down with it. I'll
- 22:27Speaker 5: be there. Just call my name, Hamburger, and here I am.
- 22:31Speaker 5: I am now an ambassador to Israel for a peace
- 22:33Speaker 5: in the Middle East. Changes in the air, and you
- 22:36Speaker 5: hear it right here on seven ninety Hamburger, and here
- 22:39Speaker 5: I am. We couldn't be no bigger than being with
- 22:43Speaker 5: Dan Lebotade seven ninety. The Ticket with stut Gott said,
- 22:47Speaker 5: now let's carry the word. Let's become apostles for the
- 22:49Speaker 5: greatest nation in the world called America. Black and white
- 22:52Speaker 5: are like walking together works.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Here's Dan Levozard and Studia send Sports Talk seven ninety.
- 23:02Speaker 1: That sick is.
- 23:10Speaker 3: He's ripping the piece of paper.
- 23:13Speaker 2: It's all I got.
- 23:15Speaker 3: What an open? I gotta tell you.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I mean the great open.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Yes, all your opens in general. It's a lesson to
- 23:21Speaker 3: producers out there how to get their host fired up
- 23:24Speaker 3: for doing a four hour talk show. It really is.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I mean, your opens were legendary, man.
- 23:29Speaker 2: But I really wanted to play Jermaine Jackson not knowing
- 23:33Speaker 2: how to hang up a phone in the Mohammed Massaquy.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Yes song parody, Well tease it for next week because
- 23:40Speaker 3: bardout Ricardo was on it.
- 23:41Speaker 2: He's got a hard drive. It'd be great if he
- 23:43Speaker 2: finds it. That would be great if he finds it.
- 23:45Speaker 2: There's you know, so I want to get to these
- 23:47Speaker 2: Hawkman parody songs in the next episode because there's a few.
- 23:52Speaker 2: One of them, I don't know if you remember, remember
- 23:54Speaker 2: Scott Stapp did that song Scott staff from from Creed
- 23:58Speaker 2: lived at Ellington. Yes, the Marlin song, yes, yeah, and
- 24:02Speaker 2: it was way overdone for a Marlin song. It was
- 24:07Speaker 2: way too Creed for like a baseball anthem. Yes, well,
- 24:11Speaker 2: the Creed songs were way to Creed and I spoofed it.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I did. I did. What was it? Because his was
- 24:20Speaker 2: called Marlins Will Soar? Anyway, I listened to it and
- 24:24Speaker 2: it happened. I think it's a brilliant piece of work
- 24:27Speaker 2: and it has thousands of views on uh on YouTube,
- 24:30Speaker 2: but I want to get to that. But then, like
- 24:32Speaker 2: in the same breath, I found something that I did
- 24:35Speaker 2: when pat Riley returned as head coach, when when Shack
- 24:39Speaker 2: was there, and it was like it was an emin
- 24:41Speaker 2: m it was an eminem parody. Yeah, you know, guess
- 24:44Speaker 2: who's back. Riley's back, and it's I mean, it's so
- 24:47Speaker 2: cringe worthy bad that I'm hesitating to even play it
- 24:51Speaker 2: or not.
- 24:52Speaker 3: I have I have confirmed that stap song was indeed
- 24:56Speaker 3: Marlins Will Soar? How about that?
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it happens to Do you remember that tale? Are
- 25:01Speaker 2: you familiar with the Scott staff Marlins Will Soar? Like
- 25:05Speaker 2: theme song for the Fish?
- 25:07Speaker 5: No?
- 25:08Speaker 2: This bordop Ricardo, remember it looks like he's nodding his head. Yeah,
- 25:11Speaker 2: he remembers it. Yeah, Yeah, it's a it is it's something.
- 25:17Speaker 3: It's a banger.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a banger.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Anyway, tease, I'm just teasing it.
- 25:22Speaker 5: It's a.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Great Today's show.
- 25:26Speaker 5: You won't strike out store.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Don't don't give it away. Sorry, don't give away my
- 25:32Speaker 2: next episode. Just I want this. I want this to
- 25:36Speaker 2: be a shitty episode that stands on its own.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Listen, we had anger steak. That makes it an excellent episode.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Now you delivered on this episode. I didn't get to
- 25:45Speaker 3: bring anything to the table very much. Well, you brought
- 25:48Speaker 3: the open, you brought all the ton king sounds, so
- 25:51Speaker 3: you did fun.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Did you watch any of the uh Ronda Rousey Gina
- 25:54Speaker 2: Carano fight on Netflix.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Over the weekend?
- 25:56Speaker 3: No, what do you you mind?
- 25:57Speaker 1: All right?
- 26:00Speaker 3: What time was that thing on?
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yeah? Well that was a good question after I watched it.
- 26:07Speaker 2: But that brings me to the greatest nicknames in boxing,
- 26:11Speaker 2: Because I'm gonna let you out of here with some
- 26:13Speaker 2: nickname talk. If you want to hear something on the
- 26:16Speaker 2: with Stugats and Hawkman podcast, or if you just want
- 26:19Speaker 2: to complain about today's episode, because you know, it's like
- 26:23Speaker 2: people are like, oh, I relived the best times of
- 26:27Speaker 2: my life when you guys do these episodes and I
- 26:29Speaker 2: love it and I can't thank you enough. And somebody,
- 26:32Speaker 2: you know, they're gonna get their little push notification today
- 26:35Speaker 2: new episode has dropped and they're gonna gonna be listening
- 26:38Speaker 2: to it, and it's just gonna be like Hamburger here
- 26:41Speaker 2: I am and be like, what the fuck out of
- 26:44Speaker 2: all the stuff that they have to go through in
- 26:47Speaker 2: the archives. I ended up with Dan the Batar.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Let's set the bar really low and title the episode
- 26:55Speaker 3: worst episode we've ever done?
- 26:56Speaker 2: How about that?
- 26:57Speaker 5: Uh?
- 26:58Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 27:00Speaker 1: Right?
- 27:00Speaker 2: Do the opposite of what Don King would do?
- 27:02Speaker 3: Yes?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Don King would call this the great Actually, maybe maybe
- 27:07Speaker 2: do it in the vein of Don King?
- 27:10Speaker 3: How about we title it no, no, no, I got a
- 27:12Speaker 3: good idea. Let's title it. Don't listen, but maybe maybe.
- 27:17Speaker 2: It should be. This episode is so good, Hock and
- 27:21Speaker 2: Stu Gotts deserve a Nobel Peace Prize.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Done.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Let's do that. Let's set people are really high.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Totally up to you, Yeah, totally up to you. Taylor.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Okay, Taylor, your call on this? Where are you leaning
- 27:31Speaker 3: right now? Taylor just out of curiosity.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Titling it with the worst episode ever.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Okay, good, just to see what it does to the downloads.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Really, I mean, because if it says the worst episode ever, people,
- 27:45Speaker 2: I kind of want to click more.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Yes, right, of course, just like.
- 27:49Speaker 2: This, except it really is. I think this is the
- 27:52Speaker 2: worst episode we've ever done.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Though, right, No, No, We've done worse and we'll do worse.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yes, I don't know, I don't know we have. I
- 27:58Speaker 2: think all the episodes have been very I think this
- 28:00Speaker 2: one just I really after the Michael Jackson movie, I
- 28:04Speaker 2: was like, oh, I'm gonna pull out that Jermaine Jackson
- 28:07Speaker 2: audio and that'll be funny. And yeah, yeah we got
- 28:12Speaker 2: couldn't find it.
- 28:12Speaker 3: It's all right, But.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I was already locked into doing the episode in my head.
- 28:16Speaker 3: So and once you haven't locked in your head, Lord knows,
- 28:18Speaker 3: we ain't going any other direction.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I am a bulldog when that man. When I am
- 28:26Speaker 2: entrenched in something, I am not easily unentrenched.
- 28:30Speaker 1: You know that word.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I mean, you're acting like I know today if.
- 28:33Speaker 2: There is something you want to hear on the podcast
- 28:36Speaker 2: or you just want to complain about this episode. Radio
- 28:38Speaker 2: Miccachlan on Instagram. We do not end these episodes until
- 28:43Speaker 2: Stucott's gets three nicknames, right, and since today was all
- 28:46Speaker 2: about Michael Jackson, I will give you boxers. These are
- 28:49Speaker 2: all box of course.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Yes, makes sense because you can see how it all
- 28:54Speaker 3: fits together. Let's see, it's gonna be a tough one
- 28:58Speaker 3: for me.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Well, I'll start with Ronda Rousey. Hmm, not really Roy's nickname.
- 29:08Speaker 3: No, I mean not really a boxer technically, more of
- 29:11Speaker 3: a fighter fighter. Yeah, I don't know her nickname.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I don't you know her nickname? Taylor?
- 29:17Speaker 4: My guess would be rowdy.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Rowdy really, that's Roddy Piper's nickname.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Fair. Yeah.
- 29:25Speaker 2: We have a Caleb Williams George Gervin situation.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Here, right, And George Gervin deserves it. I don't care
- 29:30Speaker 3: whether he put a copyright on it. He patented. It's
- 29:33Speaker 3: George the iceman, gerving. Caleb cannot take that from him.
- 29:36Speaker 3: What is he doing anyway?
- 29:37Speaker 1: Sorry?
- 29:39Speaker 2: Ah, let's see here.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Mike Tyson, Iron, Hey, Iron, Mike, yes, Iron, Mike Sorry,
- 29:48Speaker 3: Joe Frazier smoking, Joe very good?
- 29:54Speaker 2: And man, should I go difficult? Should I drag this
- 30:00Speaker 2: this thing out even more mercifully?
- 30:03Speaker 3: And I mean, go as long as you want. It's
- 30:05Speaker 3: the worst episode we've ever done. How about the Thomas
- 30:08Speaker 3: Hearns Thomas the Hitman Hearns.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Bingo, there you go.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Yes, what was the other one you were debating? What
- 30:15Speaker 3: were you debating? What was the other one? I don't know.
- 30:18Speaker 2: There was a bunch of like I was debating Muhammad Ali.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Hmmm.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Do you know Cashius Clay it was his real name.
- 30:34Speaker 3: What is Ali's nickname?
- 30:36Speaker 2: You know, Taylor?
- 30:37Speaker 4: My guess would be something along the lines of like
- 30:39Speaker 4: the Greatest Ever, the great Ones, the greatest.
- 30:41Speaker 3: The greatest, all right, that's Michael Jordan. But anyway, Ray Robinson,
- 30:51Speaker 3: the Robber, Sugar.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Sugar, Ray Robinson, Ard Sugar.
- 31:02Speaker 3: A couple of sugars cutting it out of that.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I got nothing, man, I'm sorry.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Raymon, you're doing and boom boom Raymoncini boom boom.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:20Speaker 3: How about fire?
- 31:24Speaker 2: Yeah I got nothing.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, don't beat yourself up too much.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Why am I even doing this with Stu Gods and
- 31:34Speaker 1: Hawkman
