- 0:01SPEAKER_01: Tell all the world.
- 0:03SPEAKER_01: And now here we are with Tell All the World.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: Hey, my friend Chad Sanders is in here.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: How are you doing, Chad?
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: Good, right?
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: Chad and I have known each other, I don't know, probably about 20 years.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: I know that his former business, which you sold, Indian River Walking Clinic, was a sponsor of my broadcast for, gosh, about 20 years.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: And you and your partner's name was?
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Jim.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: He was actually the majority owner.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: I worked for Jim.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, as his chief operating owner.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: You came in as the CEO, but you guys always treated me very nice.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: And you would always stop in just to say hi.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: And I thought, I don't know why this guy stops in, but you told me later on that you actually somebody actually likes me.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: I I you I was drawn to you the minute I met you, right?
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: I wonder what, because I'm an oddity or what?
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: I've never, we we've we've gone to several uh, you know, when we had the business, we did a lot of commercials and things like that, but I had never gone into a studio uh where you sit down with the guy who's trying to kind of stage your show, but then just pulls out a guitar, starts singing, and so your personality was pretty dynamic.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: So and I remember leaving here telling Jim, like, I love that guy.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Well, now we got to work on getting uh an international voice, right?
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: You've got it.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Hit the big time, just like Buddy, Buddy Mac.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: You've Buddy Mac, the Yodel, Yodel, you know, Buddy Mac, he's my favorite new star.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Catch him on YouTube and everywhere.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Buddy Mac.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: I hope I can get him interviewed.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: So, Chad, uh, you say you sold that corporation, and uh now you I know you're married, and I guess you were married then, I just never knew it.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Sue.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: That is correct.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: No children yet.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: No children, no children yet.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: And um what you up to now and w why are you here?
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: What do you want to talk about today?
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Uh well, um, I mean, I had my own clinic, you know, as you know, going back the years we had sold those clinics, I got into my own uh little thing for a couple of years and then wound up uh having that acquired by a larger company.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Um that was about about a year ago.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: And um the last few months, quite frankly, if I if I'm if I'm being honest, um that that venture that I was in really kind of there was a course correction attached to that, you know.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Um uh financially I wasn't expecting what I saw coming coming.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Um and my default.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Can we say what happens is that you know you're putting out eighty hundred eighty to a hundred thousand dollars a month, and then you want to get your checks from uh Medicare, and they they take and they're the they're the government, and you can't fight them, and they can take three months, six months, they can take a year to pay you.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: And it's unrighteous, it's wrong.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: And the reason is these people don't know what it's like to have to meet salary on a Friday.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: It is, and healthcare business is a little different.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, you you don't normally get paid, but a very small fraction of the day someone comes in, then you've got to wait 30, 45 days to get paid for those visits, so your cash flow is very important.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Take over new business, you change a lot of the operations, and of course there's a lot of delays with that.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it was financially it was quite the strain.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: But um But in a way it was good though for you because you are a born-again Christian.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: I am, and it seems like maybe the Lord had his hand in this as far as uh breaking you.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: In my opinion, um, I think that's exactly what it was.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Um breaking is hard, um, but you know, a broken and contrite heart the Lord will not despise.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: And as I've I say wherever I go, I say, folks, we don't grow when we're fat and happy, we grow when we're in the valley.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: And that's hard for me to say because after I do this broadcast, and I've done this before, and then all of a sudden it might be two weeks from now, and I'm in a financial arrears or something's happened or a major calamity, and you go, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: Remember you talked about being in the valley.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: So if you find yourself in the valley, folks, uh just understand you're there there's a lesson to uh to learn, and so don't feel so bad about that.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: We're all gonna go in the valleys and hopefully we'll be fat and happy again.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Well, it's funny you say that because I will say going through that that call it a traumatic experience, um, you know, an old friend of mine said to me years ago, God will put you on your back to force you to look up.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: You know, and God will put you on your back in order to make you look up.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: And that's exactly what happened.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: So I think at the end of the day, albeit that I thought this journey was something that that you know it was my desire, I think deep down, he was just trying to reconnect with me.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: I I I was, you know, I found God many years ago uh through an uh situation with my mother who forced me to church one day.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: I was going through I was a real trouble teen um fighting.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, I could give you a list of of things that you don't want out of your child.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: You don't look you don't seem like a bully.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Were you a bully?
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: No, I I like to fight a lot.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: I think I went looking for fights like I was a bully, but I don't think I was.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Why were you so angry?
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Anger, anger is usually hurt or fear talking.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: What were you fearful or probably both?
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: I'm sure there's some deep rooted stuff.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: Do I recollect that there was a divorce?
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: My parents, yes, they divorced when I was 10.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: Okay, so there's your anger.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Maybe they they rocked your they rocked your uh your cage, man.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I you know, I I was I'm an only child.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Uh very just do things the way I want to do things.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know if a git being a Gemini has anything to do with it, but people tell me it does.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: But uh, but yeah, I I became this real rebellious teen.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: I don't even know that I would blame my parents as much as I would just blame the people I surrounded myself with.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: You know, I had a uh we lived in Texas, we we were um low income, very low income, and to the point to where the areas I lived in, um the people I had surrounded myself weren't weren't the best upstanding citizens for the most part.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: I do love a lot of the friends I've done.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: You became a CEO later in that?
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Did you live to see that?
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: She did not.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: No, but that's okay.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: No, uh my father's alive.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, is my father's alive.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: He lives in Oklahoma.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Pretty amazing.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: I remarried.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: You know, I lived in the ghetto at one time too, and it's like uh I love it.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Stories like yours where you were, you know, what we have governmental income uh rentals.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: You know, people want to snub their nose.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: You know, you know an awful I know a guy up uh who's a billionaire up on the beach, and he he used to live at the YMCA.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Only had an eighth-grade diploma.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: One time he was looking at what we were talking, he says, Hey Rhett, yeah, eighth grade diploma.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: He says, Can you imagine what I could have done if I went to ninth grade?
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: I like that story.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, that's good.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Um so you came out of the uh you came out of the uh the ghetto.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for the most part.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: We lived in a trailer park in in uh out in South Uh well Midland, Texas, where landman was filmed.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: I'm sure everybody knows that.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: No, I don't know.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's near where?
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Uh West Texas.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Uh it's uh Permian Basin, big oil country.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: That did not happen.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Marty Robbins.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: My grandparents used to have uh orchards down there to start in Brown, so later on in life was at Medina outside San Antonio.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: I didn't tell you that.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: No, I don't think you did.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: I spent my summers down there, and all I can tell you this now I don't know if it's true for you, but creosote.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: I mean, it is hotter than hot is hot.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: And you drive down the road with your windows down because we didn't have air conditioning back then in the cars, and you smell that creosote.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: To this day, if I smell creosote, you know, they used to use that on the uh telephone poles.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: They do, and and a lot of other things.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: It's uh six flags.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: For some reason, that smell reminds me of Six Flags.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: One thing that we were we were fortunate enough to do is every year for my birthday, my parents would take me to Six Flags for my birthday.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: And um, and they painted all the railroad ties and all that stuff.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: She would always be smelling that throughout the park.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: So but I'd love that smell, quite nostalgic for me.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: You know, um, the Lord says we're on WCNO 89.9 on your FM DI.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: We're talking with Chad.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: I've known Chad.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: Last name is Sanders.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Sanders.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: Chad Sanders, and uh he's a former CEO of a corporation that used to sponsor my show when I was on secular radio.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: And uh he had a conversion years ago to Jesus.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: So your mother brought you to to church, and you were this rebellious type.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Uh how old were you when this conversion happened?
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Nineteen.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Nineteen.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Nineteen, yeah.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're right in this right in the middle of being rebellious, of course.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: I was, yes.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: But yet you still loved your mom.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, again, I think uh I was kicked out of my house when I was sixteen.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and not because of anything, yeah, for the most part, yes.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was kind of a dual thing, you know.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: I need you know it was a kick out, but yet I'm glad to leave, kind of thing.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Rebellious.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: But um, but you know, it wasn't my mom had a uh a true servant's heart.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't know that it was anything that um at the point is we'd reached a point where she couldn't control me anymore.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: It's just she couldn't handle it.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: A lot of people are enabled.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Even the Amish.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: I'm friends with some Mennonites and some Amish people.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: There's a certain age, maybe 16, maybe it's 18, you can go.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: They want you to go out.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: Test the world, taste the world.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Then if you come back, you really want to be here.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: If you don't, then you weren't meant to be here.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: I would say that mine was more so my mom couldn't handle me anymore.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: I was just too much.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: You know, she she, of course, was uh trying to get by herself, um, paycheck to paycheck and all that.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: And just me.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I when I tell you a troubled teen, I'm talking taking checks from her checkbook and putting her account into, you know, overdraft and uh just constant stuff, taking her stuff and pawning it to go buy beer with my friends.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Or I mean, I was a real piece of work.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: You didn't have any scruples, and if you did, they belonged to somebody else.
- 9:16unknown: That's right.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it's uh i after a couple years of of that behavior, um, my mom and I started to rekindle, and uh I had gone out with some oddly enough, at about that time I'd gone out with some friends.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: I didn't have anywhere to sleep that night, and I'd asked mom, can I just stay at the house?
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: And she was, of course, nice enough to say, Yes, you could you know, you can sleep here tonight.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because she knows something's coming with it, right?
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: But at the end of the day, I I had started to grow up, so I can't say that I was as bad as I was, but needless to say, it was on the on the on the nose of us rekindling our relationships.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: Now you're 19.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: A few years later, and this is when your mom's gonna bring you to church.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: That's correct.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: Um, see that you're going to church, you're gonna stay here, you gotta go to church.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: Yes, that's exactly right.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Um and she forced me.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: I will be I'll say, I mean, I I had been out the night before, I'd been drinking with my friends, to my point where I pass it on the couch, clothes still tucked, and like I I was ready to go to church.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: I'll do is just stand up and go, right?
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: Um and uh she I fought her on it.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: She's like, if you don't go, this is it.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Like, I can't do this with you anymore.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: And um at that point, she um she drug me in there.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: And uh when I say that then the minute I walked in, it was I was very close, like my you know, had my arms crossed and very closed-minded and all that.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't like say the first five, ten minutes.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: The the pastor dives right into this message, and I got to be honest, I don't even remember what the message was, but I know that everything that he was speaking to in that moment immediately started to tailor itself to everything I was dealing with, almost to the point where it was pretty it is miraculous.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Uh, a feeling I can't even describe.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: People say it's like uh, well, I think God talks through people and he cares enough about all of us.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: You know, Jesus said I he leaves at 99 to go for the hundred.
- 11:02unknown: Yeah.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: And God has taught me there's no such thing as one million, there's only a million one.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: So literally, he'll make it so it's good for everybody, but that's the way God was so so this preacher was really reaching you for some reason.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Do you remember what specifically?
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: I don't even remember, but I know that I was at that time I'd gotten some legal trouble.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: I was looking at some long-term repercussions of from that from that trouble.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, so it was to that.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, there was dragging.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: You knew you were a sinner.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: You knew you were in a wrong place.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: What kind of church was it?
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Non-denomination.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: It was a non-denominational church, yep.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Um called Mid City's Community Church.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: It was back in Midland, Texas, yeah.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: So uh this guy calls for an altar call and something provokes you to go up?
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: He um he he goes through the message.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: By this, by the halfway through it, I'm just bawling.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: I I I don't know, I'm feeling I don't know, a bit heroic in the moment.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, I feel like I'm being saved.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know what I felt, but I know that there was this huge sigh of relief inside me that made me feel like, wow, this is someone gets it, or it's not as bad as I thought it was.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Or, you know, there was just this peace that I I don't know, again, I don't I can't describe what it was.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: What I will say is I hope that everyone that is troubled gets to get that feeling.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: I think that's part of why I do this music sidebaring, but um is because I want people to feel what I felt that day.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: It's really pretty special.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: But yeah, he he he then at the end of the sermon called everyone down.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Um I didn't really know what to do by going down.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: I just knew he said if you want to accept God and you know into your as your Lord and Savior and you into your life, and I'm like, absolutely, whatever this is, I want more of it.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: I have a very addictive personality, so I was like sprinting to the frontiers.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: You're either in or you're not in.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: Which is a good that's a good trait because Jesus said, I wish above all things that thou were either hot or cold, because if you're lukewarm, I will spew thee out of my mouth.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: Also, he says, this is very important, let your yea be ye and your nay be nay.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: And he and I I've been quoting that for years, but he he punctuates it by saying, Let your yay be yea and your nay be nay.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Anything other than that comes from the wicked one.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: I mean, for 40 years I've been reading this thing, I never saw that Jesus punctuated that by saying anything other than this comes from the wicked one.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: So he really wants us to be people of commitment.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: It's okay to say no, but if you're gonna say no, make a no.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: But if you say yes, it's like a vow.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: And it even says somewhere in the Old Testament do if you make a vow, do it to your own hurt.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: I learned that from Pastor Bennett, very good.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, who I went to Africa with years ago.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Anyway, so so you go forward because you're a your guy.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Now you're a committed guy.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: When you say yay, you mean yay.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: That is correct.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: So what happens when you're up at the altar?
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Um, they they of course put their hands on us, they start praying with us.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: I can't see what that prayer was.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: I can't even tell you who was standing there.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: All I can tell you is, oh, yeah, I'm I'm I'm I'm at this point, I'm just puttying everyone's hands.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: I don't even know who I am anymore at this point.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: You were repentant.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: That's good.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: It was I was bleeding it all out.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: A broken and contrite heart, the Lord will not despise nor reject.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: It was, it was, it was, it was quite the release.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Again, I don't know that there's only been a few things in my life where I've felt the way I felt in that moment.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: And that's that's ultimately kind of transformation.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: So what were you feeling?
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Just a sense of freedom.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I when I got when I got there up to that point, even, I was just every day I woke up with anxiety and depression and all these things like, oh my God, where's my life going?
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be in so much trouble, and I mean, am I gonna go to jail?
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, just constant.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: I didn't grow up as a kid that was that belonged incarcerated necessarily, but I had the attitude like I did, right?
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: So later on, you become a CEO of a corporation and another.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: So I mean, no, you're you're a good guy, and you can tell right off the bat you're a good guy.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: I appreciate that.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: Um I've made oh don't get me wrong, I've made my mistakes.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: Don't thank me.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: I had nothing to do with it.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: The Lord does it all.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: But so you go forward and you know you knew about Jesus, but you didn't know Jesus.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: And there's a difference because even the demons and the and the bad guys would say, Oh no, Jesus of Nazareth, what are you gonna do with us?
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: Well, so they believed he was Jesus, but were they saved?
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: No.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: That's why I always tell people, make sure Jesus said, make sure ye are born from above, born again.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: And so this was your experience now.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: You so you're willing to say, Hey, I used to know about Jesus, now I'm his.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: For the most part, I mean I gr I did not grow up in church.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: My mom did.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: My mom comes of a very religious family and background, um, to the point we have pastors in our on her side and uh mayors who are also pastors.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, we we we have a good blend of all of that.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Just keep talking, it's going.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: So um, so yeah, uh, I think at the end of the day, um growing up, I wasn't really forced to church or didn't have to go to church.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Um but uh I I don't know that I believed in God or not.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: I know going in there that I'm pretty sure I didn't just based on the fact that I would always question.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Ah, brother.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, we're back on.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, go ahead.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, my mom came from a uh from a religious background.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Um I know that I questioned it constantly.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: I didn't believe in God.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: I don't know that I, you know, it had that whole if God made heaven and the earth, who made God, you know, all of these questions that people just these these shallow questions people have.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: Well, if God is God, then how come there's wars?
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: Well, I can tell you why.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: Because God gave us free will.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: He says, Okay, let's see how you get on without me.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: Then maybe you might repent and come to me.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: Do you want to sit on the throne?
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, go ahead and play God.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: I remember the night I got born again.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: I was laying in bed in my ghetto apartment, and I went, Oh, this is great.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: This is I'm not God.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Now, for me to say that, did I actually think I was God?
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Maybe because we don't know if there's a God or not, we think maybe do you ever have this fantasy when you're a little kid, like, maybe I created all this and this is all just a dream that I created, you know?
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: So I don't know.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, I didn't walk around thinking I was God, but I remember that night saying, This is wonderful.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: I'm not God.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: In other words, let him take care of the universe, and I just get to be his kid now.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: And that's true for all of us, folks.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: I think, I think for me it's not it's it's a variation of that.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: To me, it's I'm not always right.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: You know, I I grew up just thinking everything I did was the right way to do things.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Heck, I even have times in my life where I still think that, but at the end of the day, if there's something I learned in that moment and going through that starting that journey was um, I wasn't right.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: You know, it's funny.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: You go back to what your parents used, your parents would always leave.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: You talk about your parents?
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, you know, I guess parents in general, right?
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: They always tell you, you'll you'll understand when you grow up, or they try to tell you not to do things when you're younger.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: You know, you of course I think it's everyone that I've I can even think of who will always say, I wish I'd have listened to my parents, or they were always right.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: The fact of the matter, they are.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Um, it's just I was just really closed off to that as a kid.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: So playing God or not in my own life, I'm not sure what it was, but I will say make living my own creed, um, that was probably where I was going wrong.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so we we think we're the center of the universe, you know.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: What else what what else do we have to go on?
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, true.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: And then God comes along and says, My ways are not your ways.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: Well, it it it's interesting because when I when I when I found God, it wasn't um when I when I say it wasn't almost instant, uh like oatmeal, where right after that happened, yeah, everything started getting better.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: All of a sudden, these people got in my life.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: All of a sudden, I mean, people were praying for, I mean, it's like to the point to where I got so involved that all the stuff that I was dealing with started to dissolve itself.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: The legal trouble started to go away.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: I got a good job.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Like this all happened so quickly thereafter that it's something that can't be ignored.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, again, it goes back to what I said a second ago.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: You know, I wish people could truly not many people get to have moments like that in their life.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: You a lot of people are truly just determined on their faith, right?
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: Because they've come up a certain way or whatever.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: But when you feel that transition or you feel that power take over, and that's why people become Jesus freaks or nuts because we get born again and you want to tell all the world about Jesus.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: That's why I named the show, Tell All the World, because uh uh uh I said when I was a kid, when I was teenager, if I ever find out that there's really a God, I'm gonna tell all the world.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Very good.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: And why do you think people become nuts though?
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: Because at first they're just they're passionate.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, I got this.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: I want I want you to have it too.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: And they look at us like you're nuts because you know it's a fire.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's a fire that doesn't go out.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: Well, I that yes, and I let me rephrase that.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: It my fire did go out, which kind of put me in this second journey of my life.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: But but I will tell you that it but it is when I when I took it in, you know, it goes back to what you and I taught.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: I kind of drank it through a fire hose.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: You know, I when I went through this, I became uh, you know, a deacon of my church.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: I started getting into the Bible study.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: I started trying to get my degree in theology through all robberts so that I could become a minister.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: Like I really went all in.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Since then, I of course I I think it's funny, I'd beat up people in restaurants and I would just walk up to someone because they look like they were troubled and asked to pray.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: I look back at now from the outside in and they're probably like, hey, crazy boy.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Like, well, calm down, bro.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Like coming in a little hot dog.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: You were asking people if they needed a prayer?
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: I just felt there was something where I saw trouble on people's face, and I felt like, you know, I'd gone through so much pain that it's like I felt my goal was to I used to tell people I was a salesman for God, because I was in sales my very first real job.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: And so it's like I feel like I'm like an like a like a like a sales rep for God.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: I should be out there selling God.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Um and so yeah, I I I again I I was a little I was a little aggressive um to the point where I also learned that if you're too aggressive, you actually can force people away.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: You gotta be very careful with that.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: But um but yeah, so um I took it, I took it on I took it in.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: I think it's great.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: I think it's great that you did that because uh the greatest way to proselytize is if you don't have time to earn the um what is the word I want to say?
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: The equity.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: You want to earn the equity to be able to speak to somebody.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: You know, you don't want to jump on people's jump into a lot of people do that, but you earn the equity and uh uh you this is this is great when you wanna the greatest thing you can do is a restaurant instead of jumping on people, uh just say, Oh, by the way, we're gonna say a prayer to the waitress, let's say.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Uh do you have anything you need of?
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, nine out of ten times they'll start crying.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Oh my attack, she has cancer or my mother just died, or something's going on in our life.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: So people need the Lord.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: They do people need the Lord at the end of broken dreams.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: He's the open door.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Steve Green saying that.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: It was a big hit back when I first got there.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: People need the Lord.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: But I'll agree with it.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: We all need the Lord, yeah.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: So that's great.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: So anyway, but that that's wonderful you did that.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm just gonna say this, just so you know this happened.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: I lived in upstate New York.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: I got born again at twenty-nine years of age.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: Do you know that I had a dream when I was living in New York State?
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Never lived in Florida, that I went underground, came up somewhere in Florida, and had an organization called Salesman for Christ.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: I did.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: I'm wondering.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: Uh oh.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: Does this mean this is the guy maybe we're supposed to team up or do something here?
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: Maybe, maybe.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's your new radio show.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: Or maybe it's an organization where we help people in sales, because I tell people who I'm sure you'll agree with this.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: And by the way, if you're listening, you know the day you become a professional salesman or salesperson when you stop talking.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: To be politically correct.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Is is when you um Yes.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: It's when you see somebody, you have a product, you know you could take their money, but you say, Nope, this really isn't what you need.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: You need this, it'll come from somewhere else.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: But you made a new friend.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: And by the way, if you have somebody that needs what I have, please try and introduce me.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: But you know, you need to do this.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: That's when you walk away and you don't take advantage of somebody, then you know you've become a true servant servant, and the greatest salesmen serve their customers and then you'll prosper.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: The story of the mustard seed, right?
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: The story of the mustard seed.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: You know, our pastor preaches on the mustard seed and how, you know, the growth of the mustard seed and the whole thing.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: But it's just that you're planting seeds, right?
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: At the end of the day, you're farming.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: Don't don't presume they know what you're saying.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: Tell the story of the mustard seed.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm not because I'll botch it.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: I just I just heard it this past weekend, but I guess at the end of the day, I I won't go there because I'm not going to be the savant of the mustard seed.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: But I will tell you that I the the point I took from that was at the end of the day that that you know that that that the way the mustard seed grows is ultimately the same way you can apply that in part of his life.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: You're you're planting those seeds.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: Jesus said, if ye shall have faith as a mustard seed, the smallest of the seeds, if you shall have faith as a mustard seed, nothing shall be impossible unto ye.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Well, there it is.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: So that's what you're probably coming from.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I wouldn't have said that.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: One thing I, you know, it's funny.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: I it that kind of goes back to even when I first when I first um started my journey, you know.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Um I was reading so much, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't really retain the information much.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: It was points, right?
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: I'm a quotes guy.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: You can give me a quote, I can live by it forever, right?
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: But when you get into the depth of things and psychology of it all, I can really enjoy it.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: But when you get into all, I can't quote scripture to save my life.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: I can botch every time I try to quote.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: You like quotes.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: I do, but but but scripture, there's so much of it that my mind, and again, not just of this is just about me, but my mind is so busy that I'll blend messages.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Before you know it, I'm writing my own Bible, didn't even realize I was.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: Messages are still good, but at the end of the day, so I've tried my best not to not to run around quoting scripture as much as I do try to just take my experience.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: The gist of it.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the gist and use and and really, and this kind of goes to the music, right?
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: At the end of the day, that I I finally decided that instead of trying to be some type of learned savant, if you will, or something, or Bible scholar, it's really I felt as if God wanted me to use my testimony, all the things I've gone through, stories, battles, whatever it may be, and use that to try to inspire people to give them hope and seek scripture, right?
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: At the end of the day, I don't know that I was made to be a pastor per se.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: I remember all my pastors say, you know, I see something in you, and uh, and they're probably right, but I don't know that living in living on the stage was necessarily what what the calling was for me.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's about honestly about you as I'm sitting here.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: I think that um I think that there's something that you have.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: I'm not exactly sure what it is.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: I see you behind a door.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: And it's a wall or a door, and you're not out yet.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: You don't know what you're gonna do, but there's something, and I'm I'm wondering if I'm supposed to say to you, what is it that you're not being honest with yourself about?
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: What is it that you're not revealing or something?
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: I I s yeah, because I don't know.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, I know what it is.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Um it has a lot to do.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: You're called to be a pastor.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Did you really think that?
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: You know, I don't know.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: I know that I'm called to do something based on the experiences.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: I know that God has put me through what he's put me through in order for me to take that and try to change lives with it.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: What that looks like or how that happens, the only way I've found to do it recently is with music.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: It's the only way I can put my words out there and still just kind of share my testimony in hopes that people have the same struggles and understand there is there there is freedom on the other side of this if you choose to seek it, right?
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: By the way, uh your songs are available.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: How do people want to listen to them?
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: Uh it's under Risen Music.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Uh the the uh the E in Risen is three.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: Um that stands for the obviously Christ rose third day.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh YouTube, Spotify, uh you can get it through Risen Music there.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: You can also go to YouTube.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm sorry, Facebook and Instagram, all Risen Music.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: It's funny, I just Googled it the other day and it sends me all over the place.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure how to find it.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: I am, yes.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: So that's well, that's good.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: So if you want to check out his songs, Risen with a Z.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: No, with a three.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Not a Z, but a three.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: And I write for for just quick disclaimer, I write all the lyrics, but I do not do the sing.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: I've been using AI tools and things to produce the actual music because I've just even if you can tell by this video here, I don't have the voice for it.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh but I I do consider myself to be somewhat a lyricist, especially whenever I'm feeling what I'm writing.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: And at the end of the day, everything that I've written about in these songs, I've got what 61 songs now, 20 of which will be dropped by the end of this week.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: Um, it's all something that I've written straight from just some experience, be it that it's a breakup or it's how you treat your spouse when you're selfishness, or whatever it may be.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: There's just a number of ways um that I've been able to put that into some of the things.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm on Spotify with my music.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: I've been doing music, of course, for 40 years now and have recorded major recordings with full orchestration and stuff.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: Full orchestra, you know, a couple of times.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: And uh but I don't even know how to access my own songs on Spotify.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: Maybe you could help me do that.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: I'll do whatever you need me to do to help you, absolutely.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: Um well I'm from I'm a you know how old are you?
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: Fifty one.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: Okay, you're fifty-one.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: So I'm 72.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: Be seventy-three in a few days, a few weeks.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: So that makes me uh I don't know, and seventy like the new fifty?
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: That's what I heard.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Hey, look too much like the new twenty, right?
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: The Bible says confess things that are not as though they were.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: Okay, confession of our lips the Bible says the power of life and death is in the tongue.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: See, people can people don't realize the power they have.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: Everybody wants power.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: But you have the power.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: You have the power to give others dignity.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: You wield the power, and it's really cool.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: Next time somebody has an argument and you're on on the on the on the on the road, maintain the power where you don't return evil for evil, and you walk away from an encounter and you go, Wow, I didn't let that person pull me in to an argument.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm sorry, sir.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: You want to turn the red light.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: I wasn't even aware.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: I apologize.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: And I you're probably 100% right.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: I up.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: If you do that, they they calm right down.
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: Because everybody wants to fight everybody.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: Everybody's absolutely right.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: Everybody's got anger and all these issues and everything.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: It's like, you know, why is everybody so angry?
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: But I tell you what, if you acquiesce, you know, I spend my summers up north in Vermont.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: What's really cool about Vermont, it's called manners.
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: Now, not in downtown Burlington, but over in Stowe.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: And you step out off the curve, everybody stops.
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: Until you cross the street.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: And you're not first, they're first.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: Well, I got an appointment with my doctor.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm late.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, it doesn't matter, Rhett.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: They're first.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: There comes that little old lady.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: Oh no, here comes another young lady with her baby cane.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, here comes an old man walking with his cane.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: Too bad, Rhett.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: They're first.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: And it feels good.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: Ah, I'm disciplining myself.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: No, you're not first, Rhett.
- 29:17SPEAKER_01: They're first.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: It does feel.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: You're absolutely right.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: It feels great.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: And we need more of that in our society.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: No wonder people are running around with sour puss faces.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: They're on the take.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: Be on the make.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're going to be.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: That means making other people happy, making other people uh, you know, give them give them some faith, give something away, give a smile away.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: It's amazing what that does, and not only for them, but for you.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: God's world is inverted.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: It's funny, you you you don't take to get, you give.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: And the natural law of reciprocity.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: Well, God'll make sure.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: It even says in there, it said if you give, if you if you lend to the poor, the Lord will repay you.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: Written in the scriptures.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: So, you know, when you're not going to be able to do giving is receiving, is it not?
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: It really is.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: At the end of the day, when you give, there's something about what you get back that is that almost it it doesn't have a monetary value, it's somewhat priceless.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: You know, it's I was talking to someone the other day, I don't remember who it was, but I'd one of my old even I'll go back to one of my old mentors, he said, you know, um, he asked me a question, when are you your best self?
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: That was a pretty profound question.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm I'm a deep guy, so of course I have self.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: When are you at your best self?
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: And it took me a while to think that over, but at the end of the day, you know, I think I realized something about myself, even from the empathetic side, is you know, I'm at my best self and I'm helping others be at their best self.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: And that's that it takes nothing but time to do that in a lot of cases.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: It's not money, it's not, it's something as simple as even changing someone's tire if they're broke down on the side of the road.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: There's something about what that does for you and the person there that didn't require money or anything else, just required a little bit of time and some connectedness.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: Have you read The Go Giver?
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Um, no, but I've heard of it.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: Okay, because he's been in the studio, he lives down in South Florida.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: And that book has really taken off.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: It's all about giving, you know?
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: And uh it's a it's a secret that eludes a lot of people.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: I can remember when I first became a Christian at 29, and I was sitting in my car, and I went, Oh, so it's a I mean, you would think, what a dummy.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: I said, Oh, so it's a privilege to serve others.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: The Holy Spirit shot right through me, punctuating it.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're getting it, you're getting it.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: Wow, it's a privilege to serve others.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: You know?
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: It's hard to do it.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: It actually is.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: You know, it's funny.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: I what I found, I I will tell you, uh, the interesting part about all that, and maybe this is why I got reeled in during this last little venture that forced me back to my knees, was you know, when you're at your toughest time, that's really the true test, is whether you're able to practice what you preach or take your beliefs and have that faith.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: I'll be honest, I deviated from that in a big way.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: I didn't know it wasn't until I truly I went through all this, why am I, why am I, why am I, why is this how why I I haven't done anything wrong, you know.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't until I finally reached this point of just pure tears and you know, forfeiture of everything I had, like gave it to God for and I think to be honest, I even think more so than the first round years ago.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: Uh I literally gave it to him in a way that I actually gave it to him.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: I was I would and it was almost within an instant that the relief came.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't just a feeling, um, but it was what I the only thing that I could find that could save me from that pain happened within five days.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: And I had been spent I spent months chasing that same sort of thing.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: So by being broken and contrite fully to your knees.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: Now I have a 23-year-old friend, he got into business a couple of years ago, and he was gonna be hot and he was doing this, starting this business and that business, and he actually became arrogant.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: And even, you know, Barbara, my wife, she said, uh I said, Do you want to see him?
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: She says, and we used to fly him up to Vermont to see as a kid, kind of semi-adopted the kid, you know, as a godfather.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: And she said, I don't want to see him.
- 32:56SPEAKER_01: He's become arrogant.
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: And all of a sudden, everything fell out from under him.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: He's living in New York City, and he falls to his knees and cries out to God.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: And God says to him, Humble thyself and know that I am God.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: And he's got he and he said, He came to me.
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: I never used the word arrogant with him.
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: He said, I had become arrogant.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: That's what he said.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: He said that he had become arrogant.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: And now, once again, he came up by train this summer and uh he's back.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: He we got the guy back because God intervened in his life, going through some hard stuff just like you.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: So sometimes, you know, he says in the book of Hebrews, he says he chastises the son or daughter whom he loves.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: Now, if somebody's viewing this on YouTube or your or Facebook and or you're listening on uh WCNO 89.9 on your FM dial, then uh, you know, um humble thyself in the sight of the Lord, right?
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: That is exactly right.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: And he because he resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it's hard.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: You go by somebody in a car, see something, and you roll your eyes.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: Let's see somebody homeless.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, brother, look at him.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's a proud look.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: It says in the book, it says in the Bible, a proud look, just a proud look, is an abomination in the nostrils of God.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: So you gotta go, whoa, you know, don't get cockadoodled, you know.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: Those are opportunities.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: You know, I think that quite frankly, it's and and and for many years, I that if there's one thing that I think he's instilled in me, be it that I've known it was from him or something else, there's not a time where I've rolled my eyes or said, nah, not today, where I've felt so convicted that I turned back around because I can't have that.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: I I just no matter if I'm late for something or whatever, I feel like that these are these constant tests or these opportunities for you to, for lack of better term, serve in that moment.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: Um, and those are when you're trying I hate to say, but I think those, that's your scorecard there, right?
- 34:57SPEAKER_00: And I'm not saying you're going for score, but I'll say this is what he's trying to do is condition you to the point to where you see those opportunities because at the end of the day, that's that's one of our duties.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm not gonna say that I'm a prophet or something, but I look at you and I see you're still in a he's got you in a broken state, hasn't he?
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: I I would say so.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm not healed yet.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: No, yeah, I'm not healed.
- 35:17SPEAKER_01: Well, because you know, you don't know he's gotta break you until you triuncle in different ways.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: Who know I have no idea.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: I'm not God, but I do know this.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: I think you've got some sort of uh something coming up.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: I have I wouldn't uh dare to say what it is.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: You know, it could be uh uh servant somehow, and that's gonna come to light, uh, you know, and and we ask, you know, with all of us, we all need to find where what are we supposed to do?
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: Well, it don't stand still.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: That is correct.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: Because he can't direct your feet if you're standing still.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: There's really something that he honors movement.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: You know, I was depressed recently, and as uh I got up in the morning, you know what I did?
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: Made a whole bunch of phone calls, people made things happen.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: Hey, you want to have lunch next week?
- 36:00SPEAKER_01: Hey, let's have coffee.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: Hey, I want to talk to you.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: Stir it up.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's right.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: Go see some friends, go talk to some people that love the Lord.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: And if you don't love the Lord, you better love the Lord.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: That's right, but you're right.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: And if you're listening to this broadcast and you accidentally tuned in, don't change the channel.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: Because we both have been converted.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: I was at 29, you were at 19.
- 36:23SPEAKER_01: 19.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: And and since then, and and and things aren't perfect.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know.
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: No, I strayed for many years.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, there was a couple, about three years there where I uh I was all in.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think the challenge was on I moved off to I then started blowing up, right?
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: Meaning like I've got this job and again.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: Well, not yet, but I but I I was I got this offer in Dallas.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: I was single at the time, you know, is I was really called very nomadic in a sense.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: Um and so uh I I just packed up, went to Dallas.
- 36:51SPEAKER_00: One thing that I think I had a hard time with is finding a church.
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: You know, it's funny, when you're reborn in a church and you become real close with that church family, it's real hard to get that again, you know, especially when that's your first stop.
- 37:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: You know, where it all happened.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: So I think from there on out, I started, I wouldn't say backsliding, but deviating, never lost my relationship with God.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: Um, prayed every day, prayed over every meal, like kept what I thought was the connection I needed or the relationship based on my definition of what it needed to be.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: And uh, and I think again, going into the call it some 20, 25 years later, um, this second round was just a quick reminder.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: It's like, yeah, you you've been you've been playing long enough.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: It's time to get back home, right?
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: Uh, and I think that's uh and to quite frankly, this has been the most pivotal point, more so than when I was younger, because now at 50 years old, when this all started, I was a little more mature, my mad mindset to understand what was really happening versus just all this great feeling, and I'm young and don't know what to do with these emotions, and letting it uh letting it kind of take over in a way to where I probably a misuse uh of my of of of my relationship with the God, but with God.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: But as I've gotten older, um the appreciation is is much more than it's ever been.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: So I think this is um this is but it's his plan, you know.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: This is goes back to your friend with his business.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: Um same with me.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: I was chasing for years, saving money, doing all I could to go and do my own thing.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: And at the end of the day, there was a lot there was always this tug saying, Don't don't, like don't like no no no no no, that's not it.
- 38:20SPEAKER_00: That's just that's just the devil.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: That's just the devil.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: That's just the devil.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: And shoulders, you know, jump right in.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: Um and it's an only matter of two years that it completely unwinds itself at a at a at a rate I've never even used to.
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, I get buyers remorse when I buy a golf shirt.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: You know, here I am writing checks for$80,000 a month.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Like nothing.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: It's just like it's like, oh, here you go, here you go, here you go.
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: And we're getting nothing for it other than keeping the doors open of a business that's not making any money or you know, fighting that fight.
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: So uh so anyway, not to belabor that point.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: I just think um at the end of the day, this was round two.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: A golf shirt?
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: Well, I was just saying in general, uh yeah, I was I I I I don't like I don't like to spend money, right?
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: It's just kind of been the way well, because again, when you when you live uh uh not only come from uh uh you know a low-income family to where you don't have any money, then get into this homeless state of your life, your biggest fear is bad again.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: You don't want to live under you don't be sleeping in gas stations or lying to people saying you're going home and you're really just going around the corner to sit in a bush and wait till tomorrow comes around or scar you ever home for two years.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: You were homeless two years?
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: That's when I got kicked out of my house.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: I had nowhere to live.
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: I lived in a 17, 18-year-old, yeah, you're homeless.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: How was that, man?
- 39:34SPEAKER_00: It you know, bushes, wow.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:37SPEAKER_00: It's it's funny.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: Someone meant, I don't know when it was, but recently we were having a discussion and someone's talking about problems.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you know, it's interesting that what people define as a problem, right?
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: Back then, you know, I defined a real big problem is finding a bush that didn't have sprinklers so I could get my clothes wet, so I could go to school the next day and pretend like I just came from home, right?
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I was uh just you know going to gas stations to get ready.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: You get pretty creative and you start learning some, but I'll tell you, you know, again, it's um I wouldn't change it for the world.
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: I really wouldn't.
- 40:08SPEAKER_00: I've I I mean I I at the time it it it sucked, but I will tell you, as I've gotten older and not gone through all this, I was like, you know, a lot of people don't get to have those things in their lives and then get to the other side of it, and that's it's actually it's been beautiful.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: It's actually favor.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: Yes, because God says he chastises a son or daughter whom he loves.
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: If he doesn't, it's in the scriptures it says this, are ye not bastards?
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: That means without a without a father.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: So he said, Sir Sir, I'm gonna correct you.
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: And I'll tell you this story.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: I I got this from a pastor years ago.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: He had been a um a welder, and I confirmed this with another younger welder just in the past couple years.
- 40:43SPEAKER_01: I said, Is this true?
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: And this preacher said that if you take a pipe and it's got a crack in it, that's its weakest point, right?
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: If it's gonna break anywhere, it's gonna break there.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: But then you bring the fire to it and you weld it there.
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: It then after that will break everywhere else before it'll ever break where it once was weakest.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: Now it's strongest.
- 41:02SPEAKER_00: Very nice.
- 41:02SPEAKER_00: So it's great.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: The things we go through make us strong, you know.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: They do.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: And then the conditions you haven't like right now.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: See, uh, I like the fact you were homeless for those two years.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: Now it makes me want, oh, I can trust this human being more.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: You've been there.
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: And also, you can go out and minister to a homeless person and go, hey, I've been where you are.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: I've tried that.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: And I'll be honest, I still try that.
- 41:24SPEAKER_00: It is a uh, it's really hard for me.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: You got a degree, man.
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: I've had people, I you're right.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: You got a degree in homelessness.
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: You're absolutely right.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: I didn't in my undergrad.
- 41:36SPEAKER_00: Yes, that is definitely what I I would agree with that.
- 41:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:38SPEAKER_01: And and it's great to give uh now I'm I'm gonna lose my reward here.
- 41:42SPEAKER_01: So what?
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: I'd rather Father, I I just I don't care if I lose my reward sometimes.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: So there's a there's a there's a guy, he's homeless.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Now I go into Walmart at night after Publix closes at 10, so this is like close to 11 o'clock at night.
- 41:56SPEAKER_01: It's a Walmart supermarket, right?
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: On US 1.
- 41:58SPEAKER_01: And anyway, I go over there and I come out, and there's this guy.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: He's he's parked his bicycle, he's taking out his neat little transistor radio, it's on top of the garbage, the the big plastic garbage thing, and he's listening to the music.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: And um I don't know, I don't know if I turned around, and then I uh as I'm driving about to drive away, I rolled down my window.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: Hey, what are you doing there?
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: What do you do?
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: Blah, blah, blah.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: Well, my name's John.
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: And I always say, I've learned this from my African-American friends.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: Well, nice to meet you, Mr.
- 42:27SPEAKER_01: John.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: Because the very least, and I thought I always wonder why black folks do that.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: Because they had if you go through hard times, you can at least give another person dignity.
- 42:36SPEAKER_01: Hello, Mr.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: Rhett.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: It sounds so nice.
- 42:39SPEAKER_01: How are you doing?
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, wow.
- 42:41SPEAKER_01: You know, hi hi hi hi hi, Ms.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: Uh Lorraine, or whatever.
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: You know, you uh you just treated so anyway, so I'm I'm there talking to the guy, right?
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: And then um I gave him, I gave him something, okay?
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: And so, so I know the I know I know my father in heaven, I know the rules.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm hey, it was nice talking to you, Mr.
- 43:00SPEAKER_01: John.
- 43:00SPEAKER_01: I said, and I said thank you very much in a way that was absolute sincere, because I know the law of reciprocity.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: And he jumps back, he goes, What are you talking about?
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: You gave to me, I didn't give to you.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: I drove off laughing because he doesn't know that I know that I'm actually got the better end of the deal by giving to him.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: I know the Lord says if you lend to the poor, he will repay you.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, now it may not be with cash, it may be with a smile or joy.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: And the joy of driving off, and he was so perplexed, he just didn't understand it at all.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: To the point you still talk about it today.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was really that's the investment.
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: He giggled and laughed with the Lord, it was just hilarious.
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: Hilarity.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: His his ways are inverted.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: You know, the fame of man is fleeting.
- 43:46SPEAKER_01: You know, and God doesn't care about fame of man, he's no direct, he's no respecter of persons.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, I got a title, I'm president of the United States, I'm president of a corporation, uh, I'm a big shot, I'm a lawyer, I'm a doctor.
- 43:59SPEAKER_01: Well Living behind these titles, forget about.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: Hey, that's why I called myself the mayor of the airways for 26 years.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: It was really not a mockery, but almost like, you know, I can call myself anything I want.
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: So I was elected by a party of one.
- 44:13SPEAKER_01: Of course, now I'm on a Christian station.
- 44:15SPEAKER_01: And the head of the Christian station, Jonathan, he goes, he goes, Well, you're no longer the mayor of the airways on this radio station.
- 44:22SPEAKER_01: Jesus is the mayor.
- 44:23SPEAKER_01: At first I was like a little hurt, like, oh uh, I took a little bit of umbrage for about three seconds, and I went, He's right.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, hey, Jesus, you're the mayor there.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: I'm taking a backseat.
- 44:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:34SPEAKER_01: Hallelujah.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: I don't want to be the mayor anymore.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: Jesus is the mayor.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: Jesus is the mayor.
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: I can just be a citizen again, you know.
- 44:42SPEAKER_00: I it's funny you say that because I think even as a young agent, again, not coming from a family of um call it seasoned professionals, if you will, title was very important to me to the point where I lied to get my first management job.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: I had told people I was, oh yeah, I've been a manager at this other place, and there was no way to check backgrounds in, right?
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: So you could basically tell them whatever you wanted to, and you get away with it as long as you just Google GPT.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: Well, you tell somebody something now, you just go, hey, Chuck, tell me about your own.
- 45:10SPEAKER_00: No, he's wanted in 13 days.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: I feel sorry for these poor kids nowadays.
- 45:15SPEAKER_00: They can't get away with anything.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: You know, we get away with a lot of stuff as a young age, right?
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: And you know, you go in to sell somebody something right now, look the guy up or the gal up online.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: They've seen Chat GBT in about 32 seconds.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: You got a whole history of them.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: Well, she went to jail when she was 13, then got out, went back to Vassar College, dropped out after three years, then went to Harvard, and uh now she has a family with 13 kids.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: You go in and see her, you go, hey, so uh I understand that you have a lot of children.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, how'd you know that?
- 45:43SPEAKER_01: I just found it with the word of you know, word gets around, you know, and what's that like?
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: Now you're connecting.
- 45:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you got some information on them, and now, oh, yeah, you know a little bit about them.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: It's great to do some some, you know, it's kind of like it's like a little invasive, but I will tell you it does help us a lot because I think uh and and maybe kind of what I just did and didn't mean to, um, we listen to respond, right?
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: We don't really get to know people who there's no connectedness.
- 46:05SPEAKER_00: And well, not that's not fair.
- 46:07SPEAKER_00: There is a lot of it out there, but I will say I think we've gotten away from true connectedness as a society, right?
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: We we're just too our minds are too fast, technology's moving us too fast, and all that.
- 46:16SPEAKER_00: So I think in a lot of cases, that's uh there's something to be said for that with that tech, even getting into AI.
- 46:21SPEAKER_00: It's bit it's one step further.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: Now you can ask AI, hey, tell me everything about this person and give me a fact sheet.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have them on my show.
- 46:28SPEAKER_00: Tell me what I should ask them, right?
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: So uh it doesn't distract that connection.
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: He's an eye surgeon.
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: He's been coming on my show for years and a sponsor of the show, 26 years or whatever.
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: Anyway, he's there's these new things called these lenses, they're adjustable.
- 46:44SPEAKER_01: Uh they're about$5,000 an eye at this point, but they you get the new eyes for your cataracts or whatever, and the new lenses.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: Well, you have to wait three weeks or whatever, and then they can begin to adjust them with laser beams.
- 46:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow.
- 46:57SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: So I got Chat GBT to do a whole thing, gave me all kinds of really insightful questions, and I sounded like I went to Harvard for eye surgery.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: And and he doesn't know it, but I think I gave him one of the best interviews I ever gave him in the in the 26 years he's been a sponsor.
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: I said, This is great, man.
- 47:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean it's very powerful.
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: Well, again, if you if we're talking about AI, just to base couple that um with your couple this with your statement, you know, it's you and I had spoken uh recently about AI and music, right?
- 47:28SPEAKER_00: One thing I've learned about getting into this space the last few months, I didn't know anything what I was doing.
- 47:32SPEAKER_00: I actually started writing my testimonies when this all started as a music writer.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that's what I was doing.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: I just like how many turn my testimony into a song, and then all of a sudden it just stems something.
- 47:41SPEAKER_00: But one thing that I've learned is is as harsh as people can be to AI in the music space, um it there's still an R to it.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: Now I'm not gonna take away from real artists.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: If there's something to be said about people that not only write their own music, but also the voice, there's something that goes into that that quite frankly I'll never pretend that I can do or or even say that I would do.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: But I'll say that AI has now allowed people with a lot of talent to be able to leverage it to to do things, if anything, make a difference with whatever they're good at, right?
- 48:14SPEAKER_00: In particular, I will tell you that this AI piece, if there's something I've learned about it, is there is an art to it.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: I mean, I may write one song, but it'll take me like last night, I it took me four hours.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: From basically from like six to about ten o'clock last night.
- 48:29SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to get one version of one song because I can't get the tune right.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: I've written the lyrics, but I cannot get I'm just putting copy after copy and moving styles around and doing everything I can.
- 48:38SPEAKER_01: So there's a part of Suno, right?
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: SUNO, yeah.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: S D U and S U and O.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: I pay for that, but I don't know how to use it.
- 48:44SPEAKER_01: Remember listening.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: You were gonna teach me.
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm listening.
- 48:48SPEAKER_00: You've got me in speed dial, hopefully number two.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: Number one's Jesus, right?
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: Oh Jesus number one is 911.
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: Oh Jesus, I'm going through trials.
- 48:57SPEAKER_01: I've got you on the number one.
- 48:59SPEAKER_00: I know all of you can't see this right now, but he does this.
- 49:03SPEAKER_01: Oh Lord, I'm going through trials.
- 49:05SPEAKER_01: But I've got you on speed dial.
- 49:08SPEAKER_01: I press the button, there you are.
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: You come down from your heavenly stars.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 49:14SPEAKER_01: There's your new song.
- 49:14SPEAKER_01: I wonder well, I wonder what God thinks about that stuff.
- 49:17SPEAKER_01: I don't know, you know?
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: I I I you know, I think he has a sense of humor, though.
- 49:21SPEAKER_00: I do.
- 49:21SPEAKER_00: I think I I want hope that at the end of the day, so you know, it's funny.
- 49:27SPEAKER_00: We live in again, in a society where we can take something great and weaponize it.
- 49:31SPEAKER_00: We can weaponize anything good, right?
- 49:32SPEAKER_00: We're so good at that, right?
- 49:33SPEAKER_00: And now AI all there is where a way, for instance, I'm writing music and hopes to reach people to, if anything, just increase their face or give them hope that things aren't as bad as they always seem, right?
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: That's really all I'm trying to do.
- 49:44SPEAKER_00: It just so happens I feel like God's calling me to do that, right?
- 49:48SPEAKER_00: So that's it's but he's allowing me these tools to leverage that voice.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: I've I've been this guy where years ago I got into um what's called a servant leadership mindset.
- 49:58SPEAKER_00: I was being trained, mentored, got it set on a board of a of a conference where we brought all these speakers and the Maxwells of the world and all that.
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: So I was really surrounded by a lot of good people.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: And I d I I again, with this add of personality, jumped right into where I was learning all this leadership stuff and I was forcing it on people, but I was just a talker, kind of like I am now.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: Um, but I could never really drive home a message without over talking it.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: Now, what this is again, this has allowed me to do is to be able to like AI allows you to take these tools and basically summarize the approach to where you're able to leverage leverage it for good.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I I forgive me for belaboring that point too, but I just think it's important to bring up because highly scrutinized.
- 50:41SPEAKER_01: If you want to check out his music, where's your music available?
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: Uh Risen Music.
- 50:45SPEAKER_00: Um Risen spelled with a three instead of an E.
- 50:48SPEAKER_01: Not a C as on Spotify and YouTube.
- 50:50SPEAKER_01: Not an S, but uh an a three.
- 50:52SPEAKER_00: And Amazon as well.
- 50:53SPEAKER_00: I'm learning that when I go through this distribution channel that I'm pushing the music through, they're putting on all these platforms.
- 50:59SPEAKER_00: I'm still learning my way through this stuff.
- 51:00SPEAKER_00: This is something I literally started three months ago.
- 51:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: Um, it's just everyone around me that the feedback was so overwhelming that they're saying, dude, you need to stop sitting on it.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: One thing that I've been very I've say that I'm not good at is execution because I'm an overthinker.
- 51:14SPEAKER_00: But I'll I'll paralysis by analysis, I'll hold on to something until it's just runs out of steam to where I don't know how to execute it.
- 51:22SPEAKER_00: This was one of those things where I felt I had to just force it out there.
- 51:25SPEAKER_00: I'll learn on the way, I'll take my licks if I have to, I'll make some mistakes, but at the end of the day, I felt like if there's one thing I wasn't going to waver from, it's taking this testimony, especially after what I just went through and hoping that I can better someone's life.
- 51:37SPEAKER_00: Even it's just uh one person, you know, remember the starfish story?
- 51:41SPEAKER_00: You ever hear the starfish story?
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: That's kind of the way it is.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: You're walking on the beach.
- 51:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and if I botcha to forgive me, but the way it was told to me, a young man's walking on the beach, guys reading or whatever, and he sees this young man walking down the beach and throwing stuff into the ocean, just over and over, just throwing, yeah.
- 51:57SPEAKER_00: And then the night before there had been a storm and all these starfish had millions had washed up on shore.
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: And so the boy approaches, he gets closer, and he says to the boy, son, what are you doing?
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Well, last night, you know, we had the storm, and if I'm trying to throw all these starfish back, because if the sun comes up, it's gonna kill them all.
- 52:13SPEAKER_00: And uh he's like, son, you know, I I there's just there's gotta be millions here.
- 52:17SPEAKER_00: I don't think you're gonna make a difference.
- 52:19SPEAKER_00: And that young boy reached down, picks ones up, throws in the ocean, and he's like, To that one I did.
- 52:24SPEAKER_00: That one I made a difference.
- 52:25SPEAKER_00: And and yeah, and I think it's if it's it's a one at a time thing, right?
- 52:27SPEAKER_00: At the end of the day, you don't know what kind of tentacles that's gonna happen.
- 52:30SPEAKER_01: Jesus said he left the 100 to go for the one.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: And he's taught me Rhett Palmer something over the past few years.
- 52:38SPEAKER_01: There's no such thing as one million.
- 52:41SPEAKER_01: There's a million ones.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: Even if you won't lead the scripture someday, you'll see this.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: He told uh men put their faith their trust in chariots and horses, and God told Dick King David, do not count the horses.
- 52:56SPEAKER_01: Look at Gideon.
- 52:58SPEAKER_01: Gideon, he he took, he took his soldiers and they were walking along in the desert, they came upon water, and some of the men leaned over to drink, and some of them got on their belly.
- 53:06SPEAKER_01: He said, All the ones that got on their belly tell them to go home.
- 53:09SPEAKER_01: So God whittled it down to this little army.
- 53:11SPEAKER_01: Do you want to know why?
- 53:13SPEAKER_01: Because then God got the glory.
- 53:14SPEAKER_01: You know, Dr.
- 53:15SPEAKER_01: Schuler used to tell me, he says, Have a dream that's so big, it could never come to pass without the Lord intervening on your being.
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: That's that's so big, dream big.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: Because it's it's for me, uh, folks, and you might go through this, it's the 11th hour.
- 53:32SPEAKER_01: Not the I've had something happen in the past few years.
- 53:35SPEAKER_01: It wasn't the 11th hour, it was 30 seconds to midnight.
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: And the clock's gonna strike.
- 53:40SPEAKER_01: And he comes in.
- 53:42SPEAKER_01: How did you time that so immaculately?
- 53:44SPEAKER_01: Remember, you talked about something that earlier on today, you said something that you you came to know the Lord, and within a week all these offers were coming and stuff.
- 53:52SPEAKER_01: It made no sense because way ahead of time he knew that was gonna be the time you're going to accept him as Lord and Savior, and then he has everything in motion.
- 54:01SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you what, he can do anything.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 54:05SPEAKER_01: We have we have no idea.
- 54:06SPEAKER_01: But I will say this for anybody that's listening, and this is for you too.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: Remember uh Abraham was approached by I believe Jesus.
- 54:15SPEAKER_01: Remember, Jesus said, before Abraham was, I am.
- 54:19SPEAKER_01: And um so he Abraham believed God, and it was appointed to him righteousness, his faith was appointed to him as righteousness.
- 54:28SPEAKER_01: Now, Mary has never known a man sexually.
- 54:33SPEAKER_01: Never been married before.
- 54:34SPEAKER_01: And the Holy Ghost comes upon her.
- 54:36SPEAKER_01: Oh no, no, that's right, that not yet.
- 54:38SPEAKER_01: Uh uh an angel comes to her and says, You're gonna have uh a child.
- 54:41SPEAKER_01: She says, Well, I don't know how this can be.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: I've never known a man, but as you say, be it unto me.
- 54:49SPEAKER_01: And her it is written that her faith in God was became her righteousness.
- 54:57SPEAKER_01: So God wants us to have faith.
- 54:59SPEAKER_01: I don't know why that is.
- 55:00SPEAKER_01: I remember Dr.
- 55:01SPEAKER_01: Norman Vincent Peel, who wrote the power of positive thinking.
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: I met him twice, by the way.
- 55:05SPEAKER_01: Very nice.
- 55:05SPEAKER_01: He was determined he changed my life.
- 55:06SPEAKER_01: I used to be a shy, reticent individual.
- 55:08SPEAKER_01: I read the power of positive thinking at twenty years of age, changed my life.
- 55:11SPEAKER_01: But he says, I think the whole of it at 95, he said this.
- 55:15SPEAKER_01: The whole of us being here is to learn faith.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: And I've chewed on that for years.
- 55:22SPEAKER_00: Can't disagree with that.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, uh based on what I've gone through, I it's hard for me to even ignore such a statement.
- 55:29SPEAKER_00: That sounds that sounds exactly right.
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: I don't know why it's so important to God, but it is.
- 55:33SPEAKER_01: Well, listen, we're gonna wrap it up for today.
- 55:36SPEAKER_01: Because uh you and I are gonna go and uh have a little bite tea at the ocean grill here in Vero Beach, Florida.
- 55:41SPEAKER_01: Uh my treat.
- 55:42SPEAKER_01: And uh thank you for coming into the studio again, Chad.
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: By the way, if somebody wants to get in touch with you or wants to listen to your music, again, it's it's risen.
- 55:50SPEAKER_01: R-I 3.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: I-R-I-S-I-N.
- 55:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, there's risen, but they're instead of an E, it's a three.
- 55:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, instead of the E, I thought it was instead of the S.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: You know what's good that I made that mistake?
- 56:01SPEAKER_01: Because people now will remember it even better.
- 56:03unknown: It's true.
- 56:03SPEAKER_01: No, very good.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: One time I remember uh there was a restaurant over on the beach, and I gave out the wrong uh street.
- 56:09SPEAKER_01: Man, the phone's ringing off the hook.
- 56:11SPEAKER_01: They said, You gotta straighten that in now.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: Well, you know it's working, don't you?
- 56:16SPEAKER_01: That's good, very good.
- 56:17SPEAKER_01: You're right.
- 56:18SPEAKER_01: So listen, uh folks, uh, someone somewhere needs your random act of kindness, give unto others, and your light will rise out of the darkness like the noonday sun.
- 56:27SPEAKER_01: And again, how do they find your music?
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: Risen music, uh, the E is a three.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: The E is a three.
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: Okay, great.
- 56:33unknown: Thanks.
- 56:34SPEAKER_02: Tell all the world about Jesus.
- 56:38SPEAKER_02: Tell them his love is true.
- 56:41SPEAKER_02: Tell all the world about Jesus, tell them he loves them too.
