- Brynne Erickson (00:29) my friend Sheena Weirich with me tonight. She has the coolest gift and story, She is a pain intuitive and has helped so many people with this gift that not only did she discover, but she asked for it. And she has an amazing story that she's going to share with us tonight. So Sheena, thanks so much for being here tonight. Sheena Wirick (00:49) Thank you for having me. I'm super excited. Brynne Erickson (00:52) Awesome. Okay, let's dive right in. So Sheena, how would you describe what it is that you actually do? Like what is a pain intuitive? Sheena Wirick (01:01) Well, I tell people that I yawn for a living. It's true. So, a pain intuitive. You could also call it a pain empath. I literally feel people's physical pain. So if their right shoulder hurts, my right shoulder hurts. Their left toe, my left toe, right? I literally feel people's physical pain, but I also discovered that I actually feel their emotional pain too. So I will experience pain in my body. Brynne Erickson (01:04) Yes, it is true. Sheena Wirick (01:29) that maybe they're not experiencing, but I'm like, but there's an energetic or emotional message here. And they're like, when I tell them, like, ⁓ that makes so much sense. So I never know what I'm going to feel or hear or see or know or learn that day. So it's very entertaining and very fun. Brynne Erickson (01:49) That's so interesting. And a lot of your clients, because I've had a session with you before and we met virtually, like we weren't even in close to each other. So can you tell us more about that, how that works? Sheena Wirick (01:56) Yes. Yep. Yeah, so we are all connected. You know, if one person heals, it raises a vibration of the planet. And so it doesn't matter where you are, we can still connect. I've worked on children who are nonverbal and have never spoke a word in their life because I can connect to them, feel what they're feeling and be able to give them a voice to tell their parents what they're experiencing, either physically or emotionally. And that has brought a lot of and peace to people who don't know how to help, you know, children who can't tell them what's wrong. Brynne Erickson (02:36) That is so interesting. And how did you discover this gift of yours? Sheena Wirick (02:43) So I actually was really struggling with some post-barn depression after my third kiddo. It was like winter, it was awful. And I was just like, I need something, I need help. And I had seen that a girl that I went to high school with, I knew of her, did this thing called energy healing. I didn't even know what it was, but I'm like, I'm desperate. So I had a session with her and that was my first experience with that. And after the session, we got off the phone. And ⁓ I started yawning and I yawned like 60 times over the next 90 minutes. I'm like, what is going on? I had never experienced that. And she said my body will process however. And it was just like this like pop top top or the top, you know, popped off and went, my gosh, like what is all this like coming out? And it's just a way that we process emotions. As we take deep breaths, we're literally helping the chemical components of emotions to break down. And so deep breathing can bring up emotions and help them to process. That's why you'll hear like breath work being kind of popular right now. And so I was like, I really like this, I feel great. And so I reached out to the lady who invented the modality and I did a session with her and I really was like, I want to learn this, I want to get certified. But it's like $1,500. I'm like, I don't have that money, I'm a stay at home mom, my husband works his butt off, you know, and we don't have that kind of funds. And she's like, well, I'm starting this basics course. Brynne Erickson (03:45) Yeah. Sheena Wirick (04:09) in like a week and you know, she said it's like $300 and I literally had a hundred and like three dollars to my name. I just had my birthday and each parent gave me 50 and my husband gave me a hundred so I had like $303 and so I ran a bank, downloaded this app called Benmo, Benmotor the money and started the next week. I'm like, what is this? You know, and I was like, here we go and it was in ⁓ her class. So this was now like, ⁓ Brynne Erickson (04:23) Wow. You Sheena Wirick (04:37) 10 months, well, probably eight months after that first session that I had of energy healing and I was pregnant again and I was working on a woman and I started, like she's like, I want to figure out what's going on in my hip and I tuned in and I'm like, my gosh, is it in your right hip? And she's like, yeah, I'm like, I can feel that. What in the world? I'm like, ow, this is painful. And she's like, I'm so sorry. I'm like, I'm not, this is fascinating. What? What is this? And so. Yeah, that's how I first discovered the gift. Fast forward a few months later, I guess it was probably like 10 weeks later, and I was going in for my first ultrasound. And I went into the doctor's office and I'm laying on the, you know, the table or whatever and they're doing ultrasound and all of sudden the hair on the back of my neck stands up and I'm like, I have never felt that. And so I like turn around and like, what? And there's just this wall here. And all of sudden I feel the room close in and I'm like, oh crap. And I just felt all these angels flood in, which I had never felt before. And that's when he said, I'm sorry, there's no heartbeat. And I was like, oh my gosh, I literally felt like I had been body slammed and my spirit just went right out, disconnecting in the trauma, you know? And so I was in shock. I'm like, wait, are we sure? Like I don't have any family history. My grandma... Brynne Erickson (05:57) Yeah. Sheena Wirick (06:04) Grandmothers have never experienced this my mom my sister like no this can't be happening and so I went home And that night I dropped my knees and I prayed to God and I'm like, ⁓ what the hell? Did you not get the memo? I have prayed my whole life to never lose a spouse or a child what is going on and Then I I just had this thought come to me and I said, you know what? I'm gonna bank on two principles Leslie householder one of my mentors says as soon as you go to gratitude and Brynne Erickson (06:10) Yeah. Yeah. Sheena Wirick (06:34) any trial, the less you suffer. And I'm like, God, I'm like sobbing on my knees and praying. like, I don't want to have to suffer more than I need to. This is already going to be horrible and awful and just not good, you know? And so I was like, thank you? Question mark. I literally was like, God, what am I supposed to be thankful for? This sucks. And then I was like, oh yeah, like what I'll learn, who I'll become because of this, who I'll be able to like empathize with. And then the second thought that came in is, Brynne Erickson (06:50) Hmm. Sheena Wirick (07:04) Napoleon Hill says, every seed of adversity, every heartache, every failure, there's an equal or greater benefit. The world has to balance out, right? There's opposition on all things. So said, this is a really crappy situation, God. I expect amazing things. I said, I want to know that baby. I want the veil to be thin. I want to know if it's a boy or girl. I want to see him or her smell, maybe not taste, but feel and sense. Literally said that in my prayer. That's how I talk to God. And I was like, I want all these spiritual gifts. I'm like, Brynne Erickson (07:13) Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sheena Wirick (07:34) If there's any other spiritual senses or physical senses I'm not even aware of, know, I want those gifts as well. And anything else that you have that I don't even know to ask for, because I didn't know it existed, I want it all. I want gifts of healing. I want gifts of, you know, intuition, like all these things. And then I was like, amen. And ⁓ that was in December. Well, that was November when I said that prayer. I ended up delivering the baby in December. and come January 2020 things just started rolling in and I'm like, uh, what is this gift? Oh my gosh, I'm filling this. What does this mean? God. And I'm like, okay. And I'm like, what is this? You know, how, how do I use these? And he's like, that's me. Cause I'm like, where's the user manual? It's all these gifts. Right. And he's like, that's me. I'm like, okay, here's my trust card. Here we go. So yeah. Brynne Erickson (08:06) Mm-hmm. Yeah. It's so interesting, that, maybe that's what the scripture ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you could be talking about maybe. Sheena Wirick (08:35) Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah, and I've had faith to move mountains like my whole life. I've had people say they have very strong faith and I think when the time comes if I ever need to move a mountain I might. I tell people I move emotional mountains all the time though, you know what I mean? But yeah, it's all about asking and then also remembering to doubt not, right? Like I didn't like worry or stew about it or think like will God really grant me that? Like I just went on with Brynne Erickson (08:45) Yeah. Yeah Sheena Wirick (09:06) the mourning, the grieving, the being present, the taking care of my kids, right? Like, I just sent it to God and the request came through. Brynne Erickson (09:18) I know in my own prayers, I have found myself sometimes being like, look, I'm going to ask for this thing, but I know that you know my circumstances and situation better. So I get it. If I don't get it, like receive that thing. Do you have thoughts about that? Sheena Wirick (09:33) Mm. Yeah. ⁓ I think what I would say is sometimes we can limit God, right? By lack of faith or like not really believing he'll give us what we really want. ⁓ But leaving room for him to bless you with actually even more. So sometimes I'll say this is what I want or something better. Right? Because sometimes we're like, this would be great. I want this so bad. Brynne Erickson (09:46) you There you go. Okay. Sheena Wirick (10:07) But you know what? God could give us even more, right? Like sometimes our dreams are so small compared to the grand vision of what he has for us. Like I had no idea what I really was asking for when I got all these, you know, I didn't know what would come with it, you know, like the excitement and the connection, the deep connection to other people to literally feel what they feel. And I'm like, man, that takes that scripture of mourning with those who mourn to a whole new level. I literally feel it. Brynne Erickson (10:16) Mm. Sheena Wirick (10:37) Like this is delightful, you know, and people are like, why would you want to feel that much pain that people are experiencing? I'm like, I think it's a cool thing ever. I didn't know it was possible for one. So every time it happens, I'm like, this is fascinating. Right. And it keeps me in that like excitement and curiosity and flow and connection with God and trusting that he's there. Right. So yes, I asked for all those gifts, but by golly, I got way more than I ever could have imagined that came along with that. Brynne Erickson (10:46) Yeah. Mm-hmm. So maybe like I'm limiting myself. Like I'm trying to protect myself from disappointment when like now I'm thinking about that wording. Like why might I be saying that? Like, but if it's not right for me, but I, we talk about that a lot, at least I, that's kind of a narrative that I think I've heard at church where with God's timing, God knows. if it isn't answered in the Sheena Wirick (11:08) Mm-hmm, yep. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (11:35) the way that you think it should be. But I do believe that like every prayer is answered. Maybe we just have to be willing to see it and be willing to receive it. Sheena Wirick (11:40) Mm-hmm. Yeah. And another spin on prayer too. Often when we're begging and pleading and we're like, please don't let this happen or please don't let this person die. Where's all of our energy? It's focused on the outcome. We don't want the universe answers in vibration and your vibration and energy is very consumed on this worry. So what if you were to switch it and be like, thank you for the healing that this person will receive. Brynne Erickson (11:46) So. Mm-hmm. Sheena Wirick (12:15) See them healthy, young, strong, vibrant like miracles happening in their life or even for you, right? You know, people like that, you know, go and scare people like, oh my gosh, we don't have any money. The electricity is going to be turned off. Like all the universe knows is they're really worried about this chaos. Okay, they want more of that. No, no, no, no. Go back into peace. Like what's possible? How can we flip it around? How can we see like, wow, God, you know, I need $30 to pay that bill or whatever. Brynne Erickson (12:26) Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Sheena Wirick (12:46) I'm so excited to see how you show up. Like wow, maybe I find a $20 bill randomly like floating in the street. What if someone just in the line behind me at the grocery store is like, I feel like you really need this. Like, you know, because often our prayers are answered by other people. And so it's like, just go into that curiosity of, wow, I wonder how he's going to come through for me. Right. And if there's fears or doubts, Brynne Erickson (13:11) That's a evening. Sheena Wirick (13:15) Journal them out. What am I afraid of? I'm afraid of God's not gonna answer this or what if he doesn't or what if he answers it? But it's like five years from now. I really don't want to be in that trial for five years, right? Like what are the doubts? Like does God even hear me? Am I worthy of such a blessing or a gift that I'm asking for? Does that make sense? We kind of got to work through our internal narrative to find those limiting beliefs about God. Maybe God's punishing. Maybe God plays favorites. Brynne Erickson (13:27) You all right? Sheena Wirick (13:43) Right in our belief system. So we've got to see, know, or maybe you have to be worthy and deserving of blessings for that one. Many times I'm not righteous enough. I don't read my scriptures enough. And that was what that was mind blowing to me because I think the year that all my gifts came in, I probably read my scriptures five times. And so I was like, wow, God can literally blow through your limiting beliefs too. He blessed me even though Brynne Erickson (13:50) Yeah. Sheena Wirick (14:12) I had that belief of, you know, that I had to be really good. You know, it's works. Yeah. I got to check all those boxes and then he'll bless me. And so I was like, wow, like what another beautiful lesson. Not only did I get gifts, I got gifts of like upleveling my thoughts and recognizing like he sees my heart. He sees my efforts. He knows what I'm going through. You know, any struggle, he's aware of it and he's still there. He's still there reaching out. Brynne Erickson (14:14) works. Right. All the things. Yeah. Right. Mm-hmm. Yeah. No matter how much or how little you do. Yeah. It's not earned. Like it's always there. You just have to take hold of it. Cause I'm like you, like I stopped praying for a long time. Cause I was like, I don't, I don't see a point to this anymore. Like I'm just saying the things and checking it off my list. Like I don't feel anything. This isn't doing anything for me. ⁓ and so I just stopped and then I turned more to like meditation, which was awesome. It's a very helpful practice for me. Sheena Wirick (14:48) Yeah. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (15:11) And then I found myself falling asleep at night, like counting my blessings and just kind of going through the day of gratitude. And like that felt awesome and just kind of grounded me. And then all of a sudden, I don't remember what the turning point was, why I wanted to pray again, but I started praying when I wanted to pray or when I felt like I needed that connection and that has changed everything. like now every time I intentionally choose to pray, is, it's meaningful every time. Sheena Wirick (15:34) Yeah. Brynne Erickson (15:43) And I don't know, it's just totally different, but it was interesting to see that like, I was still, my life was still great, even when I wasn't praying. And I still had an open dialogue with God and it looked different. A lot of times it at my kitchen sink, just ranting out my frustrations. And yeah, and it's just been so beautiful. Like we put too many rules. Sheena Wirick (15:53) Yeah. ⁓ In there. Brynne Erickson (16:11) I think on how God operates and we limit him. You said that. And I love how you said like, what if he's better? What if he gives us things better? Like what if God is overall just bigger and better than we think he or they are? Right. It's so awesome. this, this, ⁓ dive into when, like at what point did you actually start sharing your gifts? You became aware of it. You did the course. Sheena Wirick (16:11) Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Brynne Erickson (16:39) you were practicing a little bit, well, when did you like take hold of it? And you're like, no, I'm going to turn this into something to help as many people as I can. Sheena Wirick (16:46) Um, so right away I was working on my children. Um, I had, my daughter had had growing pains for like two years and I was like, okay, like if this is truly a thing, like let's help her. And I like found like six emotions and, um, I think after like the third release, she was like, oh yeah, yeah, mom, it's getting worse. I'm like, okay, hold on. And I remember like releasing the other three and she's like, it's better. And I mean, she was, oh gosh, maybe four. I think she was four at the time and she came over and gave me the biggest hug and just was like, thank you, mommy. You're my superhero. Like, like, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And I was like, well, you're welcome, but you also have to thank Heavenly father, right? Like he gave me this, this gift and I'm just here to share it. And you know, with that certification that I got, you know, you had to work on so many people and pets as well. And so, yeah, that was really fun. And so I just started, you know, making a list of all the people who would be Brynne Erickson (17:30) you Right. ⁓ Sheena Wirick (17:45) willing to let me try this weird thing on them, you know, help them process their emotions. And it was so great. And so I just started doing that. And then actually that same mentor that had trained me had found one of my other spiritual gifts because I couldn't understand it. I kept waking up ironically with physical pain and I'd had like five other healers like work on me and they're like, oh, it's this or this. And I'm like, nope, nope, it's not. Nope, nope. And she's like, okay, muscle test the thought in my head. I'm like, oh, Dang it, I hate it when she makes me do that because I'm literally having to read her mind and make sure what is coming is correct, you know? And I was like, yeah, she's like, yeah, you have healing energy. And I'm like, okay. And so then I was like, well, that's interesting. So I reached out to a few people and I was like, all right, if you're in pain, shoulder pain that's been there for 20 years, you just bumped your knee five minutes ago, any kind of pain, tell me about it when you're in pain, like message me and I'm going to work on you. Brynne Erickson (18:26) Hmm. Sheena Wirick (18:42) and I had a few people immediately say, I'm in pain right now. And one was still in the hospital recovering. And I was able to just tune in, you know, from the comfort of my own home and she's in the hospital and get her pain reduced significantly. And then like mobility, I think it was like shoulder or arm or something, you know, and so she was able to move ⁓ her arm even more after and then like could feel the inflammation reducing. And so I was like, this is awesome. Like pain is my jam, I guess. Pain's my specialty. So, yeah. Brynne Erickson (19:08) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Huh, that is just so wild to me. And like you said, ⁓ processing emotions. So how much of our physical pain is tied to emotions? Sheena Wirick (19:29) I'm pretty sure it's a hundred percent. It's so much like yes, ⁓ I would say very near at least a hundred percent, you know, there might be an outlying, you know thing but for the most part it truly is like I for instance men when I work on men the number one thing I feel on them is their lower back pain and they're like, how did you know? I'm like because every man typically has it because of the emotion trapped there. Brynne Erickson (19:31) ⁓ okay. Sheena Wirick (19:57) Lower back represents unsupported. So then if you say, how are you feeling unsupported or how have you felt unsupported? They typically know. I'm like, you sometimes I have to jog their memory. Let's go back to childhood. Were you financially supported? What about emotionally? Were emotions safe to fill in your family? Do you feel emotionally supported by a spouse currently? Do you feel supported at your job right now? Do know what I mean? So you can ask some questions and they're like, yeah. You know what I mean? If they don't know it, you'll jog their memory and then we can process that. And then the pain releases. It's so fascinating. Just this last week, I went on a walk cause I was going crazy. It's summer, my kids are home. I was like, I just need to walk around the block really quick. You guys eat your dinner. Mom will be back. And so I go out for this walk, probably a prompting walk, but I go out for this walk and I, there's a group of people talking at the end of the street and I hear Brynne Erickson (20:26) Mm-hmm. Right. Is need a break. Yes. Sheena Wirick (20:53) I see this young man bent over and he's grabbing his back. He's like, Oh, my back. He's like, my back hurts so bad. He's like, I broke it when I was a kid and I heard all that. So I walk up and like, hi, you broke your back as a kid. Tell me more. You know, and I was like, so I kind of have this gift to help people. He's like, okay. And I just placed my hand next to his back, not touching him. And I just said, take a deep breath. And I just kind of tuned in and I said, this is what I'm feeling this, this and this. Take another deep breath. Brynne Erickson (21:14) Mm-hmm. Sheena Wirick (21:22) And then I finally yawned to help release a few things. And I said, one more deep breath. We're talking two minutes I was with him. And, ⁓ cause I had him rate his pain in the beginning. He said it was a five or six. And I said, where's your pain at? Not like what, what are you feeling? And he said, nothing. And I said, nothing is a nothing changed or like nothing as in the pain is gone. He's like, the pain is a hundred percent gone. Like, what did you do? It's like, well, it's just my gift to help people. So it's so fascinating. Cause again, back problem. Brynne Erickson (21:24) Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Hmm. And how much of us believing in it comes into play? Do you think? Like, what's that connection? Sheena Wirick (21:54) Yeah. is a good question. For everybody that I've worked on, it's worked. Every single client, every person I've been randomly like at a park and like, hey, can I help you? They've all received it. Every one of them. Even though they had no clue what I was doing or like, what is this after? Like their logical mind is like, how was that possible? So, so far, everybody and think about like, I've worked on animals. Brynne Erickson (22:10) Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Sheena Wirick (22:32) They do they believe I guess they must because they get out of pain. They believe. You know or like the nonverbal children like they can't speak. Obviously they believe because it works for them too. You know what I mean? Like I never I remember in the beginning I kind of had like this I want to prove to people and I had to work through that right. I had to really work through that because I'm like I'm not here to prove anything to anybody. Brynne Erickson (22:54) Yeah, I can imagine. Yeah. Sheena Wirick (23:01) And I don't want you being like, well, I'm a skeptic, so I'm gonna come to you and, it didn't work. no, like, fine, keep your other habits, whatever it is, popping your Tylenol, whatever. You know, like, cause that's the first thing people do is they go to a pain med. I was at a retreat in the fall and a woman came out and dumped like nine or 10 Mydol pills on the counter. I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on, can you just give me like five minutes of your time? She's like, okay. And so I just tuned in and I got her pain down to like a two. She didn't take anything. Brynne Erickson (23:05) Right. Mm-hmm. Sheena Wirick (23:30) and then she ate dinner and I said, take another deep breath, where are you at now? And she's like, it's gone 100%. I'm like, whew, she works faster than mital or Tylenol or ibuprofen and way less side effects. So we're not damaging your liver or your kidneys or, right? Yes, that'd be awesome. Yeah. ⁓ Brynne Erickson (23:37) haha I'm seeing, I'm seeing a commercial now. The new Sheena provided by all pharmacies. ⁓ my gosh. ⁓ yes. It would be so cool. And I love, it's just another option, right? Like there's, we live in this really cool age where medicine has been at the forefront, like medication has been at the forefront of medicine for a long time. And now people are looking for other alternatives because that is not. Sheena Wirick (23:58) Absolutely, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (24:12) the life that they want to live. They just don't want to be medicated forever. So it's, I just love that you're just one more option and you do, you have helped so many people and it's, it is cool and mind boggling that you just do it in the comfort of your own home and they can be anywhere in the world, even on a plane. Do you want to tell us that story? That's a cool story. Yeah. Tell us that one. Sheena Wirick (24:14) Yeah. Yeah. Yes? Yes, that's my favorite. Thank you. Yes, so I had a woman reach out ⁓ asking to do a session on behalf of her husband and I was like, yeah, that's fine. was in the middle, I was about to leave to take my daughter to ice skating lessons and so was like, yeah, I've got time. I can just drive and work on them and she's like, well, he just jumped on a plane. Is that okay? So we're gonna like totally. So here I am driving my minivan through town, yawning, no. Brynne Erickson (24:53) And he wasn't aware. Like we need to tell people that he had no clue that you were doing this for him. The wife initiated this. Sheena Wirick (24:58) Yeah, yep, the wife reached out and said, a session, you know, here we go. And so I'm in my minivan driving into town and I'm working on, ironically, guess what, his lower back. ⁓ There you go, man. So lower back problems, I can help you. So I knew he had had surgery and our bodies don't like being under the knife or anesthesia, so I knew there would be some trauma, but he was struggling with sciatica and, you know, really in a lot of pain. Brynne Erickson (25:03) huh. There you go. Sheena Wirick (25:26) And so I tune in, I'm yawning, I'm working on it, and I'm feeling the back pain. And all of a sudden, ⁓ the session completely switches, and I am in massive, like level 12 on a 10 skill, ⁓ bottom of my skull, top of my neck pain. I'm like, I should maybe pull over. I'm gonna vomit. This is so awful. Like, what is this? And I'm like praying, and I'm like, okay, God, because I just asked him. I'm like, what is this, you know? I have to wait for him to give me the answer, and then I keep going. And so I'm like, what is this? And I was like, maybe like, Brynne Erickson (25:43) you Sheena Wirick (25:54) forceps from birth and I was like no that won't do it and then all of sudden in my mind I saw a neck brace and I listened to Caleb the Christian radio station and it went to commercial and talked about this guy who's in a car accident and had a neck brace and I'm like oh thank you God's second witness like I'm on to something and so I was working on trauma in the back from surgeries but I was also working on trauma to the head and we're talking horrible pain I don't think I've ever been in that excruciating pain Brynne Erickson (26:21) Hmm. Yeah. Sheena Wirick (26:21) I can get pretty high, but that was probably one of my top three. And so I get to the ice skating lessons, I'm still processing and I'm down to like a level six in pain and I'm like, I'm going to keep working because there's so much layers to everything that I'm doing and just holding space for all the trauma. And I reached out to his wife and I said, you know, hey, I set the priority is the lower back, but this totally took over. I'm hoping it still helped his back. You know, you'll have to let me know when he lands. And I said, by the way, did he ever have any like head trauma? And she reached out and she's like, oh my gosh, are serious? She's like, he was in a car accident at age 12 and had like 30 skull fractures. And I'm like, oh, I would explain the excruciating pain that I've been in and processing all of that trauma, you know? And then she did, yeah. And so he, I guess he landed, sent his wife a text, you know, she checked in with him and he said that the sciatica Brynne Erickson (27:04) Yeah. ⁓ yeah, for sure. Sheena Wirick (27:17) Had reduced the muscles were a little sore, but the pain was gone. I'm like, yes So I'm like no matter where you are in the world on a plane and a train and a car like I can help you I'm on I'm on the case. So yeah Brynne Erickson (27:29) Sheena is on the way. Yes. Yes. So cool. Oh, that is so it. I'm just fascinated by all of it. I think it is amazing in such a neat thing. So are there any obstacles that you've had to overcome with this gift? Sheena Wirick (27:41) Yeah. yeah, proving, proving myself, ⁓ learning, learning how to talk about it because it was always awkward. like, what do you say? You know, cause it, I mean, it is in, my world now, it's very mainstream, but I'm also surrounded by people like in this environment, you know? Yeah. Like open, sure. Energies, emotions, you know, they've heard of, ⁓ like the book, like feeling is buried alive, never die, you know, things like that. And so I, you know, I was always like insecure on like, Brynne Erickson (27:51) Mm. Okay. Yeah. Right. Spiritual minded. huh. Yeah. Yes. Sheena Wirick (28:17) How do I offer this? How do I say what I can do or explain even how I do it? And so I'd kind of fumble through things. I've also had people be like, no, that's weird. No. Offering like, hey, I can help. I'm like, no. Because they're very close minded. I'm like, that's OK. Fine. Just allow your child to keep suffering. I could have helped, but that's fine. Brynne Erickson (28:24) Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Sheena Wirick (28:42) Recently, I got some backlash. I was like every single month for the last three months like different people reaching out like Calling me to repentance and saying these gifts are not of God and I'm like, well, that's interesting because the scriptures say that every good gift comes from God So huh? Interesting and I'm like and look at all the testimonials and all the people that I've helped and I honestly believe the reason it works is because of the atonement of Jesus Christ, right he felt Brynne Erickson (28:47) Mmm. Yeah. Sheena Wirick (29:11) every emotion, everything we would experience here on this earth, he felt. So if we're willing to feel the emotion, honor the emotion, and release the emotion, it's all being released because of the Atonement. That's where the power lies. Yeah. ⁓ Brynne Erickson (29:27) Well, that's mind blowing. I'm gonna have to think more about that. And can we circle back to what do you mean by the term holding space? That might be a new term for some people. What does that mean? Sheena Wirick (29:39) Yeah, so ⁓ I guess you could put it in the category of like being a really good listener, allowing people to feel their feelings, not judging them, ⁓ being that safe space for them, right? Like I just have that gift to hold space. I've had people say things to me that, you know, I kind of already knew like I'll have the spirit tell me like ahead of time. One time I was working during the pandemic on a woman, never met her. Those were friends, sisters, co-worker type thing. And immediately I knew she'd had an abortion and that actually came up. like, there's an elephant sitting on your chest, crushing your heart. And she was like, wow. She's like, I had an abortion 25 years ago and I've never told anyone about my taster. And she believed in a God of hell damnation fire. And so that weighed on her. And I mean, that was 25 years ago. And so I was like, well. Brynne Erickson (30:24) gosh. Wow. Sheena Wirick (30:37) Let me help you work through the emotional, the trauma, all of it. And let me also teach you about the God I know. Brynne Erickson (30:46) I, that is so beautiful because at girls camp, just had girls camp this last weekend and our theme was God knows my heart and the girls found a scripture. So we had the older girls come together, kind of talk about their thoughts of what they would want the theme to be. They shared the scripture in Romans. I can't remember the reference off the top of my head, but they shared their thoughts of why it was important to them. Sheena Wirick (30:55) you Brynne Erickson (31:13) And essentially the scripture is like, when I don't have the words to speak what I'm saying or what I'm thinking and feeling, God understands. And I love, cause emotion, talking about emotions is still a thing is humanity that we're trying to get on board with. Like I feel so fortunate to live at least in a space within myself that I'm very comfortable talking about it now and encouraging my children to do so and whatnot. But that is not. Sheena Wirick (31:31) Yeah. Brynne Erickson (31:42) a common story still for a lot of people. And so we don't talk about emotions. And I love that you're kind of like a conduit. Like people don't have to say anything and that you can help them process those emotions that we store within ourselves and help us get out of pain. And I love that idea of tying it to the atonement. Cause I truly believe that like God, I believe God obviously knows everything that's going on with us and wants to help us. We just have to be willing to see how that will come about. Sheena Wirick (32:21) Absolutely. Willingness. Yep. Can't wait to see how you pull this off, God. I'm asking for a Hail Mary prayer. Can't wait to see how this comes through. Right? Versus living in fear that He won't answer it. You know? Brynne Erickson (32:21) Right? How is he going to answer that prayer? It might be through Sheena. Yeah. Yes. Absolutely. And so I just love. hmm. And he there's just more options on how to have prayers answered through other people that are willing to join in on the cause of God's team. Like. I really want to help. I'm not sure how, but I'm willing to do it this way or I'm to do it that way or I have this strength or show me how I can. And yeah, I think the more people on God's team to help each other out in this life, the better because this life is hard. Sheena Wirick (33:09) It is. And let's not forget to mention generational patterns, right? Because sometimes you'll get clients and it's like, they have this hip pain and it's like, well, their mom had it, the grandma had it. So like, I just have to have it. And I'm like, but you don't, right? If we can identify the emotions that are there, it will release from you and your ancestors and your posterity going forward. you, emotions are chemical inside of our body. You have to have a body to process the emotions. So if you have passed down generations of anger or scarcity or the world is to be feared or any of that, like those are very strong emotions that get passed down to you. And you're like, why am I angry all the time? ⁓ what if 80 % of that anger was generational? We quit that. You're like, whoo, I'm not as angry anymore. What happened? We've worked on the generational side. Now we just have the 20 % left that you actually have. Does that make sense? yeah. Brynne Erickson (34:11) Yeah, I believe in generational trauma. That is a newer concept for me. but make sense. And thank goodness we can relieve ourselves from that and hopefully pass it, not pass it on, I guess, onto our posterity, right? Or at least help to have the tools to help them work through it themselves as well. Sheena Wirick (34:14) Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Brynne Erickson (34:39) Okay, so what have you learned from accepting and sharing your gift? Any big takeaways? Sheena Wirick (34:45) ⁓ the gods in charge. ⁓ I can't make this stuff up. I'm like, wow, I'm seeing this. I'm seeing this. Or like one time I saw this, ⁓ and like a ancestor come to me for my client and I was like, okay, I'm seeing this woman, you know, like old black and white photo, like, you know, long black dress and her arms are folded. And, and I'm like, you know, describing this woman, she's like, is it so and so? And I'm like, yeah. And I was like, I knew she was a teacher. Immediately the clients like yeah, she's a schoolteacher like I knew it like you know what I mean I just I just have to be open I have to trust I have to just be in that Curiosity, right? There's no judgment. There's just curious like hey, this is what I'm feeling Tell me about this emotion and they're like, yeah, I struggle with that or you know, whatever and so yeah God's in charge and I just have to be willing To be his voice right like often I'll say Brynne Erickson (35:35) Mm-hmm. Sheena Wirick (35:43) your words, my voice, right? Like give it over to God. Like even for this podcast, I'm like, all right, God, this is your message. I got to get my ego out of it. Like, what do you want to share? What do these people need to know? And I tell people the only reason my gifts work is because I have pure intention to help you. And by the grace of God, he fills in all the gaps that I might have made a mistake or missed an emotion or whatever. I'm like, it all is going to work out, right? Brynne Erickson (36:09) Yeah. Sheena Wirick (36:13) It's all good. Brynne Erickson (36:13) Yeah, I believe so. So what's been helpful for you to stand in your, to build your confidence in this? So when you do get pushed back and the people that are concerned about you or don't believe in you or think that you might even be doing something harmful, what have you done to help build your confidence? And what might you say to someone that does push back? Sheena Wirick (36:35) And. there's that scripture about, you know, you shall know them by their fruits. Guess what friends, my fruits are all good. Right? Like I'm helping people and we're here to bear one another's burdens to mourn with those that mourn. Right? That's like a baptismal covenant that we made. And that's what I'm doing. I'm just doing it on a different level than most people. Right? Cause how often it looks totally different. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (36:52) Yeah. Mm. It looks different. Sheena Wirick (37:10) And that's okay. Like some people are really good at like going in and helping somebody who's an overwhelmed to like declutter their house. Like I've been working on that gift. I get there and then I get some clutter back and like, all right, what else do I need to work on emotionally for my internal clutters so that my external clutter will go away as well, you know? But yeah, it's different. And one thing I would say, this is just coming like, don't compare your gifts, right? Because what you have is very special. Brynne Erickson (37:19) I'm Sheena Wirick (37:39) And sometimes I'll even compare myself. I'm like, well, she does this or she sees this differently or she has this gift. I'm like, but people are probably looking at me like, holy crap, you're so gifted. But it's like, everyone is gifted. What are your gifts? There's the gift of asking. I have that one too. I can ask anybody anything. Worst case, they tell me no. Best case, they say yes and I get what I want. Right? Like, and so, you know, maybe you have the gift of knowledge or remembering. Brynne Erickson (37:51) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Sheena Wirick (38:07) I try to be really good at having a great memory and remembering people's names and saying hi and calling them by name. Like, cause that, know that's been important to me when people like, Hey Sheena, I'm like, you know me like, wow, you know, like there's so many little gifts that you probably have that you don't even recognize that are actually very important, right? To help people a beautiful smile, holding space, ⁓ the ability to forgive easily, you know, so don't compare your gifts, ⁓ stand in the confidence of what you do have. Brynne Erickson (38:17) Yeah. Sheena Wirick (38:37) God has given you things, how are you magnifying them? Are you hiding them under a bushel? Are you actually trying to use them? Right? Like I tell people, and maybe you could pray for this, I don't think my make and model that God created me to be whatever number of make and model I have, I don't think I got installed with the awkward button, which has been a blessing, right? Cause when you're at a park and there's only one other guy there with his kid and you're like, excuse me, sir, do you have lower back problems? He's like, yes. Brynne Erickson (38:52) Yeah. Yeah. Sheena Wirick (39:06) I can feel that. So let's talk about it. And that's happened on multiple occasions. We're just like, okay, because I, and I'll tell you this, like you can, you can manage your gifts. I typically have that switch turned off unless God turns it on and is like, you need to help this person. And so I'm like, okay, good thing I have an awkward button. Hey, let's talk about your shoulder pain. How did you know? You know, cause that can be awkward, especially if people aren't open to this, but you know, acknowledge your gifts, acknowledge that they come from God, grow in confidence of like, Brynne Erickson (39:25) Mm-hmm. Sheena Wirick (39:36) I have evidence, right? I literally have a miracle book that I write down daily miracles in my life or my clients lives. And I just have, that's why the scriptures say to remember, right? They wrote those records to remember the blessing so that when it got hard or dark or heavy, or you felt abandoned by God, you actually have a lot of evidence that he's been there for you. Yeah. And so that's what I love. I call it my miracle journal, like little miracles. Brynne Erickson (39:38) Mm-hmm. Sheena Wirick (40:06) big miracles, right? Like that's what's exciting. They all count as a miracle. Brynne Erickson (40:12) So that was perfect, profound. Sheena Wirick (40:13) That's how I keep my confidence. Yes. Keep confidence in Christ. Brynne Erickson (40:18) Confidence in Christ. Absolutely. Oh man, my head is spinning. I've got so many thoughts. I'm to have to like journal after this session for sure. But I'm realizing in this moment that like I've totally asked for a gift and that's kind of what inspired this whole podcast actually. Like when I was figuring out what I wanted to believe and kind of Sheena Wirick (40:26) you Yeah. Brynne Erickson (40:48) like in conversion mode within my own religion that I was born into. ⁓ I remember telling God, look, I have a voice and I'm willing to use it. I just need to know what you want me to say. And it started with practicing just like a thought I had on Instagram stories, like my personal stories, just sharing it and being super vulnerable. And then conversations with people one-on-one. And then my prayers turned into like, can't wait who, who I get to talk to this week and talk about something hard. And my life is just that now. Like I have open conversations about non-traditional topics, like unconventional, sometimes confrontational topics with people just naturally, like every day now. And it has been so beautiful. And I feel like you, I just feel honored. Sheena Wirick (41:23) ⁓ I love that. the Brynne Erickson (41:46) to be able to take a moment for people to feel like they can bear their souls to me in the grocery store aisle for like six minutes, like true story. And it's true. Like, I guess I did ask for that. I just didn't realize it until this moment. And it's something that I have been open to receiving and wanting to do, which is so much cooler. Like it was my desire to have, it was your desire to have. Sheena Wirick (41:51) Yeah, right. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (42:15) And God honors our desires. And that's kind of something I'm really wanting people to grasp. Like you have more say in the life that you create than you give yourself credit for. To me, that's true agency is like taking ownership of your life and creating. And if we truly are children of the ultimate creator or creators, then why would we not have that same power? Sheena Wirick (42:26) Absolutely. Yeah. Exactly. We're just here learning to co-create with God. Like they're the perfect example. We're like, okay, what do we do? What do we ask for? often people are like, you know, they're like, well, what's my purpose? I'm like, well, go back to like what your desires are. What are like your core desires? Connection, you know, being seen, being heard, ⁓ wisdom, know, like transparency, like Brynne Erickson (42:44) Yes! Sheena Wirick (43:00) Like what are your desires and how can you turn that to bless other people, right? Because our desires are never really about us. It's to bless other people, right? We're not here to be selfish. We're to be service oriented and reach out and lift up those people that need us, right? Like we're here to be the light, right? We want to be that beacon for people who are struggling. And so I love that you're open to this and you're having conversations and you're attracting. in people that need that. They need you to hold space, to give empathy, be compassionate and listen and even maybe even offer advice or the right intuitive thought that blesses their life and just leaves them leaving the grocery store with a big old huge smile on their face because they got to meet you. You know, like it's so beautiful and I cannot wait to get to heaven because If you read any Dear Death experiences, you always hear, you kind of get like the lifeline, you know, all the negative things, but all the positive things, all the positive ripple effects of you smiled at this person, they went home and they, they smiled at this person or they reached out to so-and-so or, know, like, we'll get to see that beautiful ripple effect of how we positively impacted people. And that's going to be so exciting. I'm going be like, popcorn, movie time, Jesus, let's go. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (43:56) Yeah. That is so cool. Yes. Yes. Let's watch my life. See how it played out. It's so true. And when you said something about being selfish, I don't remember what, but it almost seems selfish when you're having so much fun serving people in a way that lights you up. Sheena Wirick (44:34) right? I know, I'm like, I love this. Brynne Erickson (44:38) And yes, it's just humbling. It really is. And it's so cool and it's fun. we're all in this together. And there truly is power in looking outward and helping each other, but also doing it in a way that serves you and lights you up and is fun and seeing what you can become in the process of serving others, which is just amazing. Sheena Wirick (44:49) Yeah. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (45:06) Sheena, you're amazing. You're doing awesome work. And I appreciate this conversation so much. You've presented us with a lot to think about. ⁓ And your services might come in handy for some of our listeners. How can people get in touch with you? Sheena Wirick (45:08) Thank you. Thank you. Very cool. ⁓ Cool, so some free resources we can take advantage of just to get a little taste. So good. Okay, Sheena, thank you again. ⁓ you are? That's new. Sheena Wirick (46:02) Mm-hmm. Yep. Yep. Sheena Wirick (46:32) Lots of processing for that. Yeah. Yeah. No, thank you so much. This has been so wonderful. Brynne Erickson (46:48) Okay, my pleasure. Thanks Sheena. Sheena Wirick (46:50) You're welcome. Bye-bye.
