Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Here's Nat with a hit of celeb gossip. What do
- 0:04Speaker 2: you got?
- 0:05Speaker 3: So the Super Bowl halftime show is always a huge
- 0:08Speaker 3: moment every year because they get some of the biggest
- 0:11Speaker 3: artists in the world to perform on that stage and
- 0:13Speaker 3: millions and millions of people around the globe watch it. Now,
- 0:17Speaker 3: normally the performer is announced in the September beforehand.
- 0:21Speaker 1: So the Super Bowl's in like Feb.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Normally we hear who the next performer is going to
- 0:25Speaker 3: be In some time in September, like the last couple
- 0:28Speaker 3: of years, it's been around, you know, somewhere between the
- 0:31Speaker 3: 20th and 30th of September, right? We're now into October
- 0:34Speaker 3: and we don't know. So everyone's like, where's the name?
- 0:38Speaker 3: We want to know who's coming up. And then yesterday,
- 0:41Speaker 3: Apple Music, who puts on the halftime show in collaboration
- 0:44Speaker 3: with the Super Bowl, posted something and then.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Really quickly deleted it. So it's as if it was
- 0:49Speaker 1: trying to be scheduled.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Or someone posted it by accident, or I don't know
- 0:53Speaker 3: what went on, but basically a silhouette of a female
- 0:57Speaker 3: was posted on the Apple Music socials, and that silhouette
- 1:02Speaker 3: was pretty clearly Miley Cyrus.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Oh, it's going to be Miley.
- 1:05Speaker 3: And she was one of the names that were being
- 1:07Speaker 3: thrown around anyway. There's people on there that say, like,
- 1:09Speaker 3: I know that photo shoot.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I know that hair. It's Miley.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah. So it's very, very, very likely that.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Our next Super Bowl, I was going to say iHeart performance,
- 1:20Speaker 3: our next Super Bowl halftime performance is going to be
- 1:23Speaker 3: Miley Cyrus.
- 1:23Speaker 2: And she better do.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Of course. Wrecking Ball?
- 1:29Speaker 3: Oh, you'd have to imagine her in a Wrecking Ball
- 1:30Speaker 3: across the whole stadium.
- 1:32Speaker 1: So good. And she could end with.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:36Speaker 1: But where's Wrecking Ball?
- 1:39Speaker 2: I've got to find it.
- 1:40Speaker 3: The other thing I thought as well, it's really timely
- 1:43Speaker 3: because she's got new music out, right, but also she's
- 1:46Speaker 3: Dolly Parton's goddaughter.
- 1:47Speaker 2: They were really close.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Dolly Parton, a legend of the industry, has just passed away.
- 1:51Speaker 3: She could do a whole portion of her performance. to
- 1:54Speaker 3: honour Dolly and sing like 9 to 5.
- 1:57Speaker 1: All those Dolly songs.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I Will Always Love You.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I Will Always Love You. Imagine Miley singing I Will
- 2:02Speaker 1: Always Love You would be huge.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Well, people were saying, I think it was last week
- 2:05Speaker 2: when you were away, that she should have performed it instead.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Someone else did. Yeah, the VMAs.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Casey Musgraves performed it.
- 2:11Speaker 3: She did good, though, but she's a country singer, and Miley,
- 2:14Speaker 3: despite being from a country town, never did country music.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Nah, she could pull it off. She always did pop music.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Anyway, might be Miley at the Super Bowl.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Could be Miley, and we'll see how long it takes
- 2:23Speaker 3: them to officially announce, but very strange if that wasn't
- 2:26Speaker 3: what was happening with that post. Also, Wiz Khalifa. So
- 2:31Speaker 3: you may know him from his songs like Black and Yellow, Young,
- 2:33Speaker 3: Wild and Free, or... His biggest hit, See You Again
- 2:37Speaker 3: with Charlie Puth. Now, that song was made as a
- 2:41Speaker 3: tribute to Paul Walker when he died just before the
- 2:44Speaker 3: release of Fast and Furious 7, or Furious 7 as
- 2:47Speaker 3: it was called. And it went on to become a
- 2:50Speaker 3: multi-billion dollar streamed historic hit, still played.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I don't know one person that doesn't like that song.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 1: That's a great song. Turns out it did so.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Well that that one song alone has set Wiz up
- 3:02Speaker 3: for life. Like he basically never has to, he can
- 3:04Speaker 3: just sit back smoking.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Weed every day. He talked about it in a new interview.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Take a listen.
- 3:10Speaker 4: See you again. That song right there is like, not
- 3:13Speaker 4: too many artists get the opportunity to have that big
- 3:16Speaker 4: of a song in their career. Like, I'm always be
- 3:19Speaker 4: good because of that song. And one of the most
- 3:21Speaker 4: popular songs ever.
- 3:22Speaker 1: In the world, yeah.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Like, the video is in the top on YouTube. I
- 3:28Speaker 4: can perform it anywhere in the world, no matter what
- 3:31Speaker 4: language people speak. They know that song.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah, hell yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 2: All you've got to do is get one hit, one
- 3:38Speaker 2: big hit.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I wonder because it's his song featuring Charlie Puth who
- 3:42Speaker 3: sings the chorus.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, they go Harvey.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I wonder.
- 3:44Speaker 3: No, I reckon Charlie Puth wouldn't have got that much
- 3:48Speaker 3: for it because I don't think it set Charlie up
- 3:49Speaker 3: for life.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Apparently. He has a net worth of 70 mil.
- 3:54Speaker 2: US.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Yeah, just purely probably from that song. But Black and
- 3:57Speaker 3: Yellow was a big song too.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Not as big, not charting-wise as big.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It used to be the rule, if you got one
- 4:04Speaker 2: number one hit in America, you were set. Really? If
- 4:07Speaker 2: you were careful with your money.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Billy Ray Cyrus, speaking of Miley Cyrus, Achy Breaky Heart,
- 4:12Speaker 3: that's all he had.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah. I think famously MC Hammer got a number one,
- 4:16Speaker 2: but then he.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Spent it all.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Spent all his money.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 3: If you got that one song... You'd almost, oh, it'd
- 4:21Speaker 3: be so hard to back it up with something. Like,
- 4:23Speaker 3: you'd almost, you'd just ride off into the sunset with
- 4:25Speaker 3: your millions of dollars.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But you've got to be careful with what you do
- 4:28Speaker 2: with your money. Otherwise, you actually could spend $ 70 million
- 4:31Speaker 2: quite easily.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Well, it says here Wiz and Charlie split the earnings
- 4:34Speaker 3: on CU again.
- 4:35Speaker 1: They did, 50-50.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, 50-50.
- 4:36Speaker 1: That's nice. Between Wiz, Charlie and the labels, it was split.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Well, right now, we're going to give you the chance $ 1, 000,
- 4:44Speaker 2: so not $ 80 million. $ 70 million, yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
