- 0:41Speaker 2: What is happening? I'm Roblne Christ and I'm Bug and
- 0:45Speaker 2: we are the Avid Indoorsman free wa Hello bugs, buddy, Hi,
- 0:53Speaker 2: how have you been.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I've been great man, I've been on vacation. It's been nice.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Tell me every single thing.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Oh, I'm not going to do that, but I will
- 1:02Speaker 3: tell you that it was awesome. I went. I flew
- 1:05Speaker 3: into Salt Lake City and then I jumped in a
- 1:08Speaker 3: car and I just I saw all the national parks
- 1:11Speaker 3: I could basically in the Greater Utah and Arizona area.
- 1:17Speaker 3: We did Zion, we did Bryce Canyon, we did the
- 1:19Speaker 3: Grand Canyon, and then we did a Monument Valley which
- 1:24Speaker 3: is a Nabjo Nation Park. And it was awesome. All
- 1:28Speaker 3: of it was beautiful. I loved just driving around. It
- 1:31Speaker 3: was also pretty and man Utah, Utah and Arizona, they
- 1:35Speaker 3: deliver bro it's crazy down there.
- 1:38Speaker 2: It's beautiful out there, man cut crazy.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean even in Salt Lake City. It's gorgeous everywhere.
- 1:43Speaker 3: And then I got to come back and hang out
- 1:45Speaker 3: with you guys, the home free dudes, get to see
- 1:48Speaker 3: a video, be made, help out a little bit, just
- 1:51Speaker 3: hang and we had a lot also, a lot of
- 1:54Speaker 3: free time to hang which doesn't always happen on those I.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Was going to say, you saved my butt, say people
- 2:00Speaker 2: from seeing my butt because I flew to Salt Lake
- 2:05Speaker 2: City with no belt. It's true, so I need those
- 2:10Speaker 2: while I'm performing or in music videos. So I got
- 2:14Speaker 2: at seven am phone.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Call at seven and a ham Rob was like, home,
- 2:18Speaker 3: could you go, please help me? Please please help me?
- 2:25Speaker 3: There a Walmart near you? What you and I had
- 2:27Speaker 3: a car and was staying just a couple minutes away
- 2:29Speaker 3: and it was not a problem at all. I was
- 2:31Speaker 3: happy to help.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It worked out really well.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Great.
- 2:34Speaker 2: You took some amazing pictures. Remind me well, I want
- 2:38Speaker 2: you to send me the one that's in front of
- 2:40Speaker 2: the Forrest Gump thing, because I think we should post
- 2:43Speaker 2: that on our socials.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yes, I will do that. I kept meaning to like
- 2:47Speaker 3: look through and I got to tag a bunch because
- 2:49Speaker 3: there's like a lot and some of them are good,
- 2:51Speaker 3: some of them are yes. Okay, So yeah, I will
- 2:54Speaker 3: for sure do that at some point, but I will
- 2:58Speaker 3: make a mental note to do that. Actually, I'm gonna
- 3:00Speaker 3: I'm gonna actually just make a note.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Make a note, note, a real note, and rub the
- 3:06Speaker 2: forest Gump. So what is that was when he's running?
- 3:10Speaker 2: It's when he decides to quit running.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm pretty tard.
- 3:14Speaker 2: And what is that place called?
- 3:16Speaker 3: So that is just a north of Monument Valley in Arizona.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Well cool.
- 3:21Speaker 3: This is where it gets confusing. So it's part of
- 3:23Speaker 3: the Navajo Nation, but I believe the state surrounding it
- 3:26Speaker 3: is Arizona. So I never know exactly how you reference
- 3:30Speaker 3: like reservation land, you know, in a sure respectful way.
- 3:34Speaker 3: But Monument Valley is what it's called. And it's actually
- 3:36Speaker 3: like on Google Maps, just north of Monument Valley, it's
- 3:40Speaker 3: called like the Forest Gump Scenic Lookout Area or something.
- 3:45Speaker 3: So it's kind of fun. There's a ton of people
- 3:47Speaker 3: hanging out there getting pictures and stuff. I didn't go
- 3:50Speaker 3: in the middle of the road like some people did
- 3:51Speaker 3: because I'm scared, so scared. I'm scared, so yeah, but
- 3:57Speaker 3: it was super cool. Man, it's gorgeous down there. Super cool.
- 4:03Speaker 3: But yes, I will send you that pic.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Do it. While you were on your travels, did you
- 4:10Speaker 2: happen to check out any films?
- 4:12Speaker 3: I did? I did. I watched a movie that we've
- 4:16Speaker 3: talked about a number of times and neither of us
- 4:18Speaker 3: have seen it in a long time. I watched Idiocrasy.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Fun How did that hold up?
- 4:24Speaker 3: Really well? Super funny, and honestly, I after watching it,
- 4:30Speaker 3: it's one of those where I'm like, did I ever
- 4:32Speaker 3: watch this? Like the whole way through? You know, Like
- 4:35Speaker 3: I feel that some of those I just cannot remember,
- 4:38Speaker 3: especially from a time when we maybe didn't watch movies
- 4:42Speaker 3: with like the same eye that we watched them now,
- 4:44Speaker 3: so like they just don't stick with me as much.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I still think i'd maybe seen it, but it felt
- 4:52Speaker 3: brand new. It held up pretty well. There's some like
- 4:55Speaker 3: language stuff in there that's always interesting from the mid
- 4:58Speaker 3: two thousands, but that's also like part of the movie
- 5:01Speaker 3: because it's all about this dude that goes he gets
- 5:05Speaker 3: like cryogenically frozen basically, and comes out in the future,
- 5:09Speaker 3: and the whole shtick is like, dumb people keep having
- 5:12Speaker 3: kids and smart people don't, and then the world becomes
- 5:15Speaker 3: super dumb, and so this average guy is like now
- 5:19Speaker 3: very smart. And it's it's very silly and very funny.
- 5:23Speaker 3: It's very Beavis and butt Heeady, you know, all that
- 5:26Speaker 3: kind of stuff, right, yeah, Mike Judgey stuff. So but
- 5:29Speaker 3: I really liked it. I thought it was really funny
- 5:31Speaker 3: and worth seeing again for sure. Nice. Yeah, yeah, because
- 5:35Speaker 3: you've seen that one too.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Right, I have, But I think it's kind of a
- 5:38Speaker 2: similar thing.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I don't know that I ever like. I certainly didn't
- 5:42Speaker 2: buy it ever, And I think it's one of those
- 5:44Speaker 2: ones that was like when it was on cable, I
- 5:46Speaker 2: would watch it, yes, yeah, And so I don't know
- 5:50Speaker 2: that I've seen it all the way through either.
- 5:52Speaker 3: That's what it feels like. That's what it felt like
- 5:54Speaker 3: to me too, for sure. So yeah, so yeah, but
- 5:56Speaker 3: it's definitely worth checking out if people haven't seen it.
- 5:58Speaker 3: It's pretty it's pretty interesting thing and and kind of
- 6:02Speaker 3: reflects some of the way society is today. Which is
- 6:05Speaker 3: like a big thing people say, you know, like Achdiocracy
- 6:09Speaker 3: wasn't supposed to be you know, real nonfiction stuff, but
- 6:13Speaker 3: here we are. But yeah, it was fun. I liked it,
- 6:16Speaker 3: and I think it was on Hulu maybe I don't remember.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I did get a request on our Patreon to really
- 6:26Speaker 2: pay attention to what stream they can find it.
- 6:30Speaker 3: It's so bad about that too. I really gotta be better,
- 6:34Speaker 3: I feel pretty sure. And this one was on Hulu. Okay, cool? Good.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I will try to be better, though, I promise. How
- 6:40Speaker 3: about you that? What have you been watching it?
- 6:42Speaker 2: I finally watched a film that I know you. Went
- 6:46Speaker 2: to the theater to see the newest Bad Boys Ride
- 6:51Speaker 2: or Die film?
- 6:52Speaker 3: Hell yeah, baby? It was on.
- 6:54Speaker 2: The Delta flight going from Minneapolis to Salt Lake.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I love that.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Decided to check it out and it was much better
- 7:01Speaker 2: than I was expecting.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Fun right, better than the last one, for sure?
- 7:05Speaker 2: For sure better than the last one.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Yes. Great.
- 7:08Speaker 2: And this is the first thing I've watched Will Smith
- 7:11Speaker 2: in since the notorious Slap Oh yeah, and uh, I
- 7:16Speaker 2: maybe it's controversial, but I still think he's pretty great.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I don't think it's controversial from my end. I'm with you.
- 7:23Speaker 2: He's so great in that role. Like I love Mike Lowry,
- 7:29Speaker 2: he really.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Do, dude, he's perfect and the whole Yeah, their whole
- 7:34Speaker 3: work pretty fun, still fun. I love it.
- 7:38Speaker 2: But he doesn't really look like he's getting older. Martha
- 7:41Speaker 2: Lawrence does look like he's getting older, and he was
- 7:45Speaker 2: very silly in this one. But great Plaine movie.
- 7:51Speaker 3: For sure.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I didn't didn't have to think too hard. The action
- 7:54Speaker 2: in the comedy were a lot of fun. Yeah, I
- 7:58Speaker 2: would definitely recommend it. If you like the other movies,
- 8:01Speaker 2: you'll definitely like this one.
- 8:03Speaker 3: That's I totally agree with that tick. Like, yeah, if
- 8:05Speaker 3: you enjoyed the other one, so you're gonna have a
- 8:07Speaker 3: nice time. It's fun. Yeah, and actually we get a
- 8:10Speaker 3: payoff in this one of one of the dudes from
- 8:12Speaker 3: the Ogs. Yeah, Reggie is it Reggie? I think it's Reggie.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know is his character name.
- 8:20Speaker 3: But his name anyway, his son.
- 8:21Speaker 2: We're talking about John Sally, right.
- 8:24Speaker 3: John Sally. Oh No, I wasn't thinking that. That is
- 8:28Speaker 3: fun though, Yes, I forgot about that. I was talking
- 8:31Speaker 3: about Reggie who plays his son in law.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Oh, that was fun. That was a great part of
- 8:36Speaker 2: the movie. Yeah, that was fun.
- 8:39Speaker 3: It is Reggie nice Dennis Green is the actor's name.
- 8:42Speaker 3: It was fun to see him for a minute. But yeah, anyway, yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 3: but yeah, that's fun. Nice Man.
- 8:48Speaker 2: One is streaming, but it's just available to rent at
- 8:51Speaker 2: this point. I watched it on a Delta flight.
- 8:54Speaker 3: If you're flying, gotcha, it's there.
- 8:58Speaker 2: But as far as streaming, have you been doing any
- 9:00Speaker 2: of that?
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yes?
- 9:01Speaker 2: On Prime?
- 9:02Speaker 3: I know where this one is for sure. I watched
- 9:05Speaker 3: the first three episodes of Rings of Power. Is that
- 9:08Speaker 3: what I gonna talk about? Yes, sir, I'm really super
- 9:14Speaker 3: enjoying the second season. I liked the first season as well.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I think you did too. I think we've talked about that.
- 9:19Speaker 3: We did talk about production value on this show continues
- 9:23Speaker 3: to be insane, Like.
- 9:25Speaker 2: It's just like an extension of the movies. They're that
- 9:27Speaker 2: high quality.
- 9:28Speaker 3: It's wild actually, like it's almost like you don't have
- 9:31Speaker 3: to do that much. You know something at times, but
- 9:36Speaker 3: really I feel like I can't talk about anything that
- 9:39Speaker 3: happens because it all feels spoiler spoilery issue you want
- 9:43Speaker 3: to watch along. But I'm super enjoying all these characters. Morphied,
- 9:48Speaker 3: Morphid Clark, I think is her name continues to be
- 9:52Speaker 3: wonderful and I love all of them. It's kind of
- 9:56Speaker 3: weird that we have. Did you notice that we switched
- 9:59Speaker 3: actors for one of the parts. I had to look
- 10:01Speaker 3: it up because I was like, so is this guy.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I only got? Oh? No, I guess I didn't notice that.
- 10:08Speaker 3: So the add on I think is his name? Let
- 10:12Speaker 3: me look here?
- 10:16Speaker 2: Because I was gonna say I only got through two
- 10:18Speaker 2: and a half episodes.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I think you would have still seen him. I don't
- 10:22Speaker 3: know that it would have been like super duper noticeable.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Okay, unless you're like in in se because I was
- 10:30Speaker 2: kind of waiting for that whole errandear bron win bit
- 10:37Speaker 2: where they were like dealing with the orcs and stuff.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Oh right, because I thought that was a pretty compelling storyline,
- 10:44Speaker 2: and the first two and a half episodes they don't
- 10:47Speaker 2: talk about.
- 10:48Speaker 3: It at all. Why can't I find this dude's which
- 10:51Speaker 3: was weird? Odd? So Adar who was the He's who
- 10:57Speaker 3: was like the leader of the Urukai. In the first
- 11:00Speaker 3: one he was played by just a different guy, and
- 11:05Speaker 3: now it's a different dude and he's got a bunch
- 11:08Speaker 3: of makeup on, so it's not like one hundred percent
- 11:11Speaker 3: easy to tell. But I was like, what is happening?
- 11:14Speaker 3: And that it was honestly, just I thought he was
- 11:17Speaker 3: a different character and I was like, wait, who is
- 11:20Speaker 3: this cat? Like, what's what's going on?
- 11:22Speaker 2: I did not notice? That's hilarious.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Well that means they did a good job probably honestly.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And I feel like it was what two years ago
- 11:29Speaker 2: when we had brings a power like it's been a mint.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Seems like it's been a while. So yeah, anyway, sorry
- 11:33Speaker 3: for that little divers into the woods, but uh yeah,
- 11:38Speaker 3: what are you thinking of it? Do you like it
- 11:40Speaker 3: or some fun?
- 11:41Speaker 2: Same very much. I really enjoyed the very first half
- 11:45Speaker 2: hour because I don't think it's a spoiler. They do
- 11:47Speaker 2: like a little prequel to introduce us to one of
- 11:50Speaker 2: the characters that was really revealed in the first season.
- 11:54Speaker 2: And that's been the highlight of the show for me
- 11:57Speaker 2: so far as that first half hour.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like that must have been the elevator pitch right,
- 12:02Speaker 3: like of just like this is why we're making this show,
- 12:05Speaker 3: and it's great. I'm with you on that.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm really digging it. And I had pretty
- 12:10Speaker 2: much exactly those.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Takes and the music is so good. I mean it
- 12:14Speaker 3: was good the first season as well, but this season
- 12:17Speaker 3: I just love it so much. Yeah, give me more.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I love it all, more and more and more, more
- 12:22Speaker 2: and more and more belly.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Yeah for sure. Well that's cool man. Well what do
- 12:26Speaker 3: you think should we go to a few plug a rouons?
- 12:29Speaker 3: I think we should.
- 12:29Speaker 2: That'd be great.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Nice. You guys can usit us as always over on

- 13:48Speaker 3: Boom rolls Off the top Boom. The titles for our
- 13:52Speaker 3: drafts just keep getting longer. We have to give more
- 13:55Speaker 3: specific Right on.
- 13:56Speaker 2: A Wednesday in September.
- 14:00Speaker 3: ESPN with stats were like, this is the first time, right, Yeah,
- 14:05Speaker 3: when it's cloudy someone has done. Yeah, that's really fun.

- 14:12Speaker 3: I promise you. And stay tuned also for coming attractions
- 14:16Speaker 3: where we will be talking about a different movie that
- 14:19Speaker 3: Rob will tell you right now because he.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Remembers Dodgeball, a true underdog story. Hey, Dodgeball's next another
- 14:27Speaker 2: twentieth anniversary.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I shouldn't be, but I'm always also learning what the
- 14:31Speaker 3: next episode is when they are or at least remembering
- 14:35Speaker 3: because my brain she barely works. But we are here
- 14:38Speaker 3: today to talk about a lovely film, a film called
- 14:42Speaker 3: euro Trip. Ever heard of it? Yep? Okay, me too.
- 14:49Speaker 3: And we decided we had to get our most European
- 14:51Speaker 3: friend around. I mean, he loves socialism, he likes unpastorized eggs.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah hard. I started hard with that one. I don't
- 15:02Speaker 3: know how he feels about socialism or that it's not
- 15:05Speaker 3: a bad. Let's just get him in here. Everybody welcome, Neil, goash,
- 15:11Speaker 3: what's up? Neil?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Hello, Hahi, so good to see you.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Good to see you too. How's it going, guess?
- 15:18Speaker 3: Oh man, it's so good. It's better now that you're here.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I really it happened a while ago for us in
- 15:24Speaker 3: our time, but it happened just a second ago for
- 15:26Speaker 3: the listeners. I just said that you like socialism.
- 15:30Speaker 2: It was a really weird intro.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I don't want to remind anything to you, European friend
- 15:36Speaker 3: to like socialism.
- 15:38Speaker 2: We're just like pump the breaks.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Y famous say all that to say famous to European socialists.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Famous European elitist, Neil Coach. I mean, I think we
- 15:55Speaker 3: all know that to be true. And cigars and of culture, that's.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Sort of true. I'm not sure what that has to
- 16:03Speaker 4: do with Europe or socialism.
- 16:05Speaker 3: But well, you wear red a lot socialism.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I don't know, it's not not helping.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I've also, I don't think I've ever seen you in red, but.
- 16:16Speaker 4: I don't think I pull it off very many an
- 16:20Speaker 4: maybe that's I do wear a lot of dark red.
- 16:23Speaker 4: It's jewel tones, you know, brown skin and jewel tones.
- 16:26Speaker 4: That's kind of what you gotta go with.
- 16:27Speaker 3: I don't know anything about any of that. That's not
- 16:31Speaker 3: my my ouvre clearly, or introducing people on podcasts, but
- 16:35Speaker 3: we're so you're here.
- 16:38Speaker 4: I am also glad to be here.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Are you still glad to be here?
- 16:41Speaker 4: Well, it's uh the meter by the second. We gotta
- 16:48Speaker 4: we gotta get this thing.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yeah, back on, let's talk about the twenty year anniversary
- 16:53Speaker 3: of a lovely film called euro Trip and Rob, will
- 16:57Speaker 3: you get a started with just a rough SYNOPSI I
- 17:00Speaker 3: would love to Okay.
- 17:01Speaker 5: After a brutal breakup at a high school graduation party, Lovelorn, Ohio,
- 17:07Speaker 5: teen Scott Thomas goes on a quest across Europe to
- 17:11Speaker 5: find his sexy German pen.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Pal Mica or Mike. Joining him are his brainless buddy
- 17:18Speaker 2: and a pair of twins they meet up with in Paris.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Scott's quest does not turn out to be easy, however,
- 17:25Speaker 2: and the backpackers become embroiled in many farcical situations as
- 17:30Speaker 2: they hop from country to country.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Farcical, nice, nicely done, good job, Thank good job, buddy,
- 17:37Speaker 3: thank good job. Oh, let's go to Rod Tomatoes and
- 17:39Speaker 3: hear what they have to say. Critics have this coming
- 17:41Speaker 3: in at a rock solid fort.
- 17:44Speaker 4: It feels about right.
- 17:45Speaker 2: That's about twenty percent higher than I thought they were
- 17:48Speaker 2: gonna give.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna be honest, like, yet is it higher
- 17:52Speaker 3: for me? Yes? But am I disappointed with critics rating?
- 17:56Speaker 3: Not really, No, I don't think I think that's kind
- 17:59Speaker 3: of fair. But audience members way up they are been
- 18:02Speaker 3: seventy five percent.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Guys, that's pretty wild. I mean, I guess this sign
- 18:07Speaker 4: of the times. Maybe no one has rated this in
- 18:09Speaker 4: the last twenty years, but.
- 18:11Speaker 3: That's definitely possible. That's definitely possible.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I thought that was high.
- 18:16Speaker 3: It's pretty hot. Yeah, I thought this was gonna be
- 18:19Speaker 3: one where it was like four and then we're like,
- 18:22Speaker 3: we loved it. But let's go in to hear what
- 18:26Speaker 3: we do think of this movie. It's time for our
- 18:29Speaker 3: hot take hot take. Ooh, that's a hot take.
- 18:34Speaker 2: That's a hot take.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Oh miscuoozy miscoozy nice. Yeah, that's good. I'll go first.
- 18:41Speaker 3: I love this movie a ton. I don't think that's
- 18:44Speaker 3: probably a big surprise to anyone. It came out, you know,
- 18:49Speaker 3: right as we were in college. I'm pretty sure I
- 18:52Speaker 3: had a pirated version of this movie from LimeWire Wow
- 18:56Speaker 3: early on in my life, and so I watched it
- 18:59Speaker 3: a number of times.
- 19:00Speaker 4: It was a.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Big I was a big movie as background when I
- 19:04Speaker 3: was doing like schoolwork or whatever back in the day. Yeah,
- 19:08Speaker 3: that's true. I do like a movie in the background.
- 19:10Speaker 3: But that's why I saw Super Troopers roughly nine billion times,
- 19:14Speaker 3: and this one was definitely in that rotation as well.
- 19:18Speaker 3: And so I've seen this movie a bunch of times,
- 19:21Speaker 3: and I just think it's really fun. I think it's
- 19:23Speaker 3: like kind of a quintessential like teenage, coming of age, silly,
- 19:28Speaker 3: goofy road trip movie, and it's really great. I love
- 19:32Speaker 3: the music in it a lot. I think having like
- 19:35Speaker 3: the popular songs in different you know, in different languages,
- 19:38Speaker 3: is a fun touch. I think that's neat and it
- 19:42Speaker 3: contains one of the greatest cameos that's ever existed with
- 19:47Speaker 3: mister Damon. I just think it's it's wonderful. It legitimately
- 19:50Speaker 3: makes me cackle each and every time, and that song
- 19:53Speaker 3: is a banger, So it's It's not a perfect movie
- 19:58Speaker 3: by any means. It's very silly and dumb, and you know,
- 20:02Speaker 3: like I said, the forty seven percent is honestly probably
- 20:05Speaker 3: pretty kind from critics. But I had a super good
- 20:09Speaker 3: time watching it, and even on the rewatch, I was like, Yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 3: this is just good, clean fun. Like you show me
- 20:15Speaker 3: a nude beach scene with a lot of dongs, and
- 20:17Speaker 3: I'm gonna have a great time. You know. I think
- 20:20Speaker 3: we all know that we got.
- 20:21Speaker 4: To clean fun is the funniest way to describe this movie.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I still I stand by it. I stand
- 20:30Speaker 3: by it. I just I needed to say dong. So
- 20:32Speaker 3: we didn't have socialism be the clip because I didn't
- 20:35Speaker 3: want it to fame.
- 20:36Speaker 2: No, But.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually don't really have a hot take. I
- 20:44Speaker 3: like this movie.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Right there.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Wow you.
- 20:51Speaker 2: So this was not a big movie for me. I
- 20:54Speaker 2: saw it, Oh that's fun once and thought it was
- 20:58Speaker 2: funny but kind of dumb, and some of my favorite
- 21:02Speaker 2: comedies are kind of dumb, so I'm not saying I'm
- 21:04Speaker 2: like two Good for your Friends, Yes, But for whatever reason,
- 21:10Speaker 2: this movie didn't capture me as much as other silly,
- 21:16Speaker 2: dumb comedies. I thought it was interesting that it was
- 21:19Speaker 2: directed by three people who also wrote the script was
- 21:23Speaker 2: Jeff Schaeffer, Alec Berg, and David Mendel, and all three
- 21:27Speaker 2: of them are pretty heavy in the comedy scene. They've
- 21:30Speaker 2: worked on Seinfeld, veep Berry, Silicon Valley, and Jeff Schaeffer
- 21:37Speaker 2: was one of the creators of the League, which was
- 21:39Speaker 2: one of my favorite shows, and it's completely ridiculous and
- 21:43Speaker 2: super sophomoric as well.
- 21:45Speaker 3: For sure.
- 21:47Speaker 2: I think one of the main reasons I didn't love
- 21:49Speaker 2: this movie was because the main actor just does nothing
- 21:52Speaker 2: for me. I don't think he's very good. I thought
- 21:57Speaker 2: the best parts of the movie came from the cameos
- 22:00Speaker 2: that amazing Scott he doesn't know song. Obviously, like many
- 22:06Speaker 2: comedies from this era, there were a bunch of things
- 22:08Speaker 2: that did not age well. Yeah, a bunch of gratuitous nudity,
- 22:13Speaker 2: using the R word for the mentally challenged, going to
- 22:18Speaker 2: Germany and having the little kid act like Hitler was
- 22:21Speaker 2: really God, did.
- 22:26Speaker 3: You see the like they have the like like the
- 22:29Speaker 3: gag reel almost kind of thing like behind the scenes
- 22:32Speaker 3: stuff during.
- 22:33Speaker 2: The director showing him how to do it.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Or showing him how to do it. Was just like
- 22:38Speaker 3: what a ridiculous thing to be like, this is so funny.
- 22:41Speaker 3: I have to now show this kid how.
- 22:43Speaker 2: To I just couldn't believe it. I was like, maybe
- 22:46Speaker 2: just the marker things like maybe that, but I know,
- 22:50Speaker 2: like you don't need to do that. It was ridiculous.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Yeah, just like trophy disparaging of Eastern Europe as being
- 22:59Speaker 4: like or it was like, yikes, dude, like this that's
- 23:02Speaker 4: not great.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Dude, we have a dollar and eighty three cents and
- 23:05Speaker 2: they stay at like the Ritz and it's just like
- 23:09Speaker 2: I don't know, And I imagined it probably didn't go
- 23:12Speaker 2: over well with the Catholic community with the whole pulp
- 23:15Speaker 2: bit and getting on in a confessional and all that.
- 23:18Speaker 2: But yeah, there were some really really funny parts as well.
- 23:25Speaker 2: There were very funny lines, great cameos. It just doesn't
- 23:31Speaker 2: do a ton for me.
- 23:32Speaker 3: I get you nice hot take pll hot, Yeah, what
- 23:36Speaker 3: do you got?
- 23:38Speaker 4: I think. My my general feelings about this are closer
- 23:40Speaker 4: to Robs than yours. Bugs. This this was in the
- 23:42Speaker 4: pocket for me as well. I mean like as far
- 23:45Speaker 4: as age range and when this came out and I
- 23:47Speaker 4: was in college and all that stuff, and I very
- 23:49Speaker 4: much like, did you know same as you, Like we
- 23:51Speaker 4: had the background movie thing going for like Van Wilder
- 23:54Speaker 4: and you know, all the like teen movies that came
- 23:56Speaker 4: out around that time. Hell yeah, So like this was
- 23:58Speaker 4: very much in the pocket. And actually I was telling
- 24:01Speaker 4: Rob this when we first talked about doing this this episode.
- 24:04Speaker 4: But I watched road Trip probably one hundred times, Like
- 24:06Speaker 4: I've seen that a.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Ton, sure, and I watched that one a lot more
- 24:10Speaker 2: than this too.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Is yeah, and I just didn't watch this one a
- 24:13Speaker 4: whole lot. I saw this maybe twice, So it doesn't
- 24:16Speaker 4: hold the same spot as far as nostalgia for me.
- 24:18Speaker 4: And rewatching it, I was like, okay, sort of affirming
- 24:22Speaker 4: how I feel about those two films in that road
- 24:24Speaker 4: Trip is a stronger cast and a less contrived plot line,
- 24:28Speaker 4: and this one like feels forced to get everybody into
- 24:31Speaker 4: the like motions, and then like the cast is just
- 24:35Speaker 4: like the acting performances are pretty weak, Like it's it's
- 24:37Speaker 4: really riding on the cameos, which it has great cameos,
- 24:40Speaker 4: but like, none of the main actors really move the
- 24:43Speaker 4: needle for me at all. So sure, I think that's
- 24:45Speaker 4: kind of a it's it's just getting them from point
- 24:48Speaker 4: A to point B. But you're really it's one set
- 24:51Speaker 4: up cameo joke after another, and that's kind of how
- 24:54Speaker 4: you get through this movie. Like there's not really anything
- 24:56Speaker 4: else driving it.
- 24:57Speaker 3: I just love it so much.
- 24:59Speaker 4: It was it was fun he watched I think this.
- 25:01Speaker 4: I think this still lands like in the you know,
- 25:04Speaker 4: probably I'm not reaching for this one most of the time.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Even if I want something from this genre. There's other
- 25:09Speaker 4: things I go for it before this one.
- 25:11Speaker 3: But while you were talking, I was giggling because I
- 25:14Speaker 3: thought of a line from this movie that I think
- 25:17Speaker 3: is one of my favorite lines in any movie. So
- 25:20Speaker 3: I just am a weirdo for this movie, I guess.
- 25:22Speaker 3: But well I get it because I didn't watch road
- 25:25Speaker 3: Trip as much, which is funny. So it's like it's
- 25:27Speaker 3: just funny which ones you land.
- 25:29Speaker 2: On so many times, and it's like pretty much the
- 25:33Speaker 2: exact same plot line.
- 25:34Speaker 3: But one of the one of the trivia pieces was
- 25:38Speaker 3: like they changed the title from something to euro Trip,
- 25:42Speaker 3: so it was closer to road.
- 25:43Speaker 4: Trip intended to be like I always thought this was
- 25:48Speaker 4: like kind of a sequel, even though there's not any.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Shared like a spiritual sequel. Yeah, yeah, no, I guess
- 25:53Speaker 3: it's a.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Different like kind of Rictor's Function company and everything. You
- 25:57Speaker 4: just copy the name. I get so interesting. That actually
- 26:00Speaker 4: explains a lot. I just didn't ever know that. I
- 26:03Speaker 4: was assumed that they were somehow associated. They sure seem
- 26:06Speaker 4: like they would be, right, But yeah, interesting.
- 26:09Speaker 3: So well, hot takes. Boys. I apologize in advance for
- 26:12Speaker 3: all my dumb takes for the movie because I like it.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all good.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Fuh well, let's go ahead and let's name our favorite
- 26:20Speaker 3: acting performance. Let's name the the dude. I'm the dude,
- 26:26Speaker 3: So that's what you call me, you know that?
- 26:29Speaker 2: Or his dudeenus or duder or you know, el dudo
- 26:33Speaker 2: reno if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Yeah you want to go for am all right, So
- 26:38Speaker 4: I'll be real with you, man. If there was an
- 26:40Speaker 4: option to not give this to anybody that would take
- 26:42Speaker 4: that option, there.
- 26:43Speaker 3: I guess there is that option. Yeah, there was.
- 26:48Speaker 4: There was not really any main character that had a
- 26:51Speaker 4: substantial amount of screen time that I felt like did much.
- 26:53Speaker 4: They also didn't give these actors and actresses much to
- 26:56Speaker 4: work with, so it's not entirely their fault.
- 26:58Speaker 3: But I feel like you guys watched this with your
- 26:59Speaker 3: eye clos like, what are we talking about here?
- 27:03Speaker 4: I think, if I had to pick, I was kind
- 27:05Speaker 4: of going back and forth between Michelle Trackenberg played Jenny
- 27:07Speaker 4: and Jacob Pitts like Cooper.
- 27:09Speaker 3: That.
- 27:09Speaker 4: I mean, Cooper probably had the most material to work
- 27:12Speaker 4: with as far as like lines and stuff. It should
- 27:15Speaker 4: probably give him the nod. But yeah, I mean, none
- 27:18Speaker 4: of them are like blowing me away. It's not that
- 27:21Speaker 4: kind of movie.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Though, right, Yeah, I will say that I did like
- 27:27Speaker 2: Jacob Pitts as Cooper. I liked his vibe super fun,
- 27:31Speaker 2: like relaxed, smart ass. Things kind of always work out
- 27:37Speaker 2: for him, Yeah, unless he's in a crazy sex club
- 27:41Speaker 2: and can't pronounce a safe word. I I liked his
- 27:45Speaker 2: vibe quite a bit, so I would I would give
- 27:48Speaker 2: that to him for sure.
- 27:50Speaker 3: They must have had one of those three dudes must
- 27:52Speaker 3: have also been involved with Justified too, the like people
- 27:55Speaker 3: who wrote and directed it, because he was in Justified
- 27:58Speaker 3: and then uh, the brother, the nerdy brother was also justified,
- 28:03Speaker 3: and they've both a pretty big part. I mean that
- 28:06Speaker 3: Jacob Pitts had a big part. He was in it.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Almost Yeah, it was like seventy five episodes or something.
- 28:11Speaker 2: So right, It's funny because if we were going to
- 28:15Speaker 2: compare him to another character and road Trip, he was
- 28:18Speaker 2: like that kind of like a smart burnout Yeah yeah, exact.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:25Speaker 4: But to that point though, like with that comparison, because
- 28:28Speaker 4: he absolutely was like that was that was what they
- 28:30Speaker 4: tried to slot him into. But I think he was
- 28:31Speaker 4: less convincing than the other guy was as being sure,
- 28:35Speaker 4: I can buy the center, I can buy that.
- 28:37Speaker 3: But with that said, he is my dude, So.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I look at that clean sweep, then.
- 28:43Speaker 3: I think I think he's just you know, he gets
- 28:45Speaker 3: the funniest lines and he's kind of a dick, but
- 28:47Speaker 3: you also kind of like him, and I think that's
- 28:49Speaker 3: hard to do as a character sometimes, so that's fair.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I kept to him. I thought he was good.
- 28:54Speaker 4: They definitely gave him the most to work with of
- 28:56Speaker 4: anybody in terms of like just writing.
- 28:59Speaker 3: And I where you like that Scott Mechlowitz just to
- 29:07Speaker 3: do his name Scotty to handle.
- 29:11Speaker 4: He doesn't know anything.
- 29:12Speaker 3: We just need to keep calling Scott anything. Yeah, I
- 29:16Speaker 3: don't know. I was just especially on this rewatch, I
- 29:18Speaker 3: was like, yeah, he doesn't really have to do much
- 29:21Speaker 3: of anything.
- 29:23Speaker 2: His the robot fight thing was kind of funny that
- 29:27Speaker 2: he had to do, but that was that was about
- 29:31Speaker 2: it for me. Like I just didn't find him very
- 29:33Speaker 2: charming or let's.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Just smooch a very pretty girl, so that's fun.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Yeah for him, Yeah, it's I mean, I don't know.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Again, this is one of those movies that, like you
- 29:42Speaker 4: hate to tear it apart from a literary standpoint because
- 29:44Speaker 4: it's not really important film, but it is like at
- 29:47Speaker 4: least in In you know, and not to repeatedly make
- 29:49Speaker 4: this comparison, but because that's a movie I know so
- 29:51Speaker 4: much better. Road Trip is like the story of how
- 29:54Speaker 4: the ball gets rolling makes so much more sense because
- 29:58Speaker 4: it's like main character cheats on his girlfriend and accidentally
- 30:01Speaker 4: films it and then accidentally sends her the tape of
- 30:03Speaker 4: him cheating on her, and then they're making the road
- 30:05Speaker 4: trip to try to like prevent her from getting the tape.
- 30:07Speaker 4: This is like he has one picture of this girl
- 30:11Speaker 4: that he didn't even realize was her until you know,
- 30:13Speaker 4: the eleventh hour, and then everything is based around that,
- 30:16Speaker 4: which like makes no sense at all.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Well, and it's he she blocked his email, like just
- 30:22Speaker 2: be like, hey, dude, can I use your email really quick?
- 30:25Speaker 3: And maybe I could, especially at this point it's not
- 30:29Speaker 3: like more sophisticated. Can I make a new email account? It? Yeah?
- 30:38Speaker 3: Oh I love that. I love that. That's a great note,
- 30:42Speaker 3: right take.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Also, he fell in love with this person even though
- 30:48Speaker 3: he doesn't. The guy was Mike, and he was like,
- 30:51Speaker 3: until I see you later, and then he was like
- 30:54Speaker 3: I love her though.
- 30:55Speaker 4: Yeah, so it was not even slightly believable, but anyway, whatever.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it's fun. It's fun.
- 31:01Speaker 2: It's fun.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I'm glad we can all agree. He's sorry, dude. Let's
- 31:04Speaker 3: go ahead and name some of the great supporting actors
- 31:07Speaker 3: from this cast. It's named the Tucci g uh neil.
- 31:14Speaker 3: I want to go first again.
- 31:15Speaker 4: But so for the if we are including the cameos,
- 31:18Speaker 4: which I think we absolutely should, this is this I
- 31:21Speaker 4: thought was like a spoiled with richest category. I gotta
- 31:24Speaker 4: give it to Fred Armisen for the whole Mascoozie train
- 31:27Speaker 4: scene because it's probably the most like widely quoted thing
- 31:32Speaker 4: from this movie, and it's like it's it was so creepy.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Even on the rewatch, I was like, man, he really
- 31:40Speaker 4: nails this role in a way that makes you want
- 31:42Speaker 4: to take a shower, Like it's so disturbing. But that
- 31:46Speaker 4: was a really good one. Honorable mentions. I think I
- 31:48Speaker 4: would give to Minnie Jones as the head of the
- 31:52Speaker 4: Joligans hell yea, and Lucy Lallis as the Madam Vandersex,
- 31:57Speaker 4: which were all great cameos and I thought they all
- 31:59Speaker 4: killed it. So but if I had to give them,
- 32:01Speaker 4: not to anybody, I think it's going to Fred Armison.
- 32:04Speaker 2: It Yeah, I mean I think of this movie because
- 32:10Speaker 2: of Matt Damon singing that song, so I know his
- 32:14Speaker 2: screen time was so limited, but it seriously makes the
- 32:19Speaker 2: movie for me for sure.
- 32:20Speaker 3: So and it wasn't in the Trivia, but I did
- 32:23Speaker 3: end up looking it up elsewhere. It's because he went
- 32:25Speaker 3: to college with one or two or all three of
- 32:28Speaker 3: those dudes I wrote and then directed the film, and
- 32:32Speaker 3: they were near where he was filming.
- 32:36Speaker 2: One of the born was born yeah, in Germany or something.
- 32:41Speaker 3: So maybe it wasn't the Trivia but I had to
- 32:43Speaker 3: go and like look up for sure.
- 32:44Speaker 4: That was why so hilarious It was uncredited, wasn't it.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 32:49Speaker 4: I think so that's really hilarious, especially.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Sometimes to save like for budget reasons and things like
- 32:58Speaker 3: or previous contracts. But it's such a funny part.
- 33:01Speaker 4: It's really funny considering that this was just a few
- 33:03Speaker 4: years after like Goodwill Hunting and like all his like
- 33:06Speaker 4: he was in the prime of his career when it's
- 33:08Speaker 4: time about like.
- 33:10Speaker 2: What did he do? This is incredible. If I had
- 33:14Speaker 2: to give it to an actual like character, I would have.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I think Travis Wester, who plays Jamie, is probably the
- 33:22Speaker 2: most believable out of the four main ones. I thought
- 33:27Speaker 2: he played the nerdy, responsible guy pretty pretty well, and
- 33:31Speaker 2: when he would loosen up and do something crazy it
- 33:33Speaker 2: made it more effective. Sure, its usually pretty funny, so
- 33:38Speaker 2: I'll give him some love.
- 33:40Speaker 3: I like that, I guess at a bunch of great people.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Michelle Trachtenberg, I love her. I know she doesn't get
- 33:48Speaker 3: to do a lot in this and she's a very
- 33:49Speaker 3: like generic lady part I feel like in this one,
- 33:54Speaker 3: but she was Harriet the spy man like I've been
- 33:56Speaker 3: in on her for years. I love her. She's wonderful.
- 34:01Speaker 3: I don't know you never saw Harriet the Spy. Yeah,
- 34:05Speaker 3: I was probably too old when I watched it, so
- 34:10Speaker 3: that's fair, that's fair. J P. Manu, who I think
- 34:16Speaker 3: was the He was the robot guy. He was also
- 34:21Speaker 3: in deep a little bit and he was funny. Yeah,
- 34:24Speaker 3: it was funny. I liked him.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Uh.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Diedrich Bader is the one who he mugs him getting
- 34:31Speaker 3: the old the ally BJ going on there, which is fun.
- 34:36Speaker 3: And then someone called Neill he shuck Off was the
- 34:41Speaker 3: little brother and he doesn't get to do a lot,
- 34:43Speaker 3: but he's pretty funny.
- 34:44Speaker 4: He's very mean though, the main character's little brother. Yes, brother.
- 34:48Speaker 4: I usually thought about that too. He was I was like,
- 34:50Speaker 4: he's actually his delivery is like pretty great. I don't
- 34:54Speaker 4: know from anything else.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but he was pretty good, pretty great.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Uh.
- 35:00Speaker 2: And Jeffrey Tambour, Jeffrey Tambor, he was there. And I
- 35:05Speaker 2: don't know if you caught it, but Mindy Sterling was
- 35:08Speaker 2: the the woman in the confessional when they're making love.
- 35:12Speaker 2: She's the one confessing and she was like the bring
- 35:15Speaker 2: in the bots in the I think she's a big
- 35:20Speaker 2: improving Yeah, good call.
- 35:24Speaker 3: No, I didn't realize that was her, now that you
- 35:26Speaker 3: say that, though, I can totally.
- 35:28Speaker 2: See it in the credits, and I think if you
- 35:30Speaker 2: maybe if you watch the unrated version, I don't. I
- 35:32Speaker 2: didn't watch that one, but the she does more improvy
- 35:37Speaker 2: stuff in that confessional booth they cut out. Yeah that's great,
- 35:42Speaker 2: she's really fun. That's really fun.
- 35:45Speaker 3: But yeah, I think that was all the people I
- 35:47Speaker 3: have sweet. Oh.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Also, Fiona Kristin Kroik. I don't know how you say
- 35:53Speaker 2: her last name. She was like really big in what
- 35:57Speaker 2: was one of those shows like Smallville or something?
- 36:00Speaker 3: Oh?
- 36:00Speaker 2: Yeah, she was actually pretty funny.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Was she like Lois Lane in Smallville?
- 36:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 36:06Speaker 3: Or like the lowest Lane equivalent? Maybe? I think? So, yes,
- 36:12Speaker 3: that's right. What happened to her? I feel like she
- 36:14Speaker 3: was a big I think she's still doing stuff.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Oh good for her, Yeah, ibably still doing Matt Damon.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope. So, yeah, that was great for her.
- 36:24Speaker 3: She was landa Lang there you go wherever that is. Yeah.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Well, I think I think we should go and talk
- 36:31Speaker 2: about our favorite scene and let's pick the dingus the dangers.
- 36:35Speaker 2: So dingas is quite simple, really ingus ginghus.
- 36:39Speaker 4: I could talk about my dingas all night long.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Scene.
- 36:44Speaker 4: All right, I wrote down, I know I had wrote down.
- 36:47Speaker 4: I had written down a bunch of them, and then
- 36:49Speaker 4: my computer restarted and I lost all my notes, so
- 36:51Speaker 4: oh no, going off of memory. The three that I
- 36:54Speaker 4: think are most noteworthy to me the Muscoozie scene in
- 36:58Speaker 4: the train the row bought fight, which I did think
- 37:01Speaker 4: was pretty hilarious and is so ridiculous. Yeah, it's it's
- 37:07Speaker 4: a bummer that just happened so early in the movie.
- 37:09Speaker 4: But the whole Scotty doesn't know like concerts scene.
- 37:13Speaker 2: That party is great, that's for sure.
- 37:15Speaker 4: I wish that like that cameo would have been a
- 37:18Speaker 4: banger if it came right at the end of the movie,
- 37:20Speaker 4: because no one would see it coming. But yeah, to
- 37:23Speaker 4: to start it off with like the highest dollar cameo
- 37:26Speaker 4: is really hilarious. And that song is legitimately so good
- 37:31Speaker 4: that like we had a playlist forever, like that was
- 37:35Speaker 4: on every every party playlist.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Dude, And when they hear it at that club in
- 37:40Speaker 3: Bratis Lava, it's so funny. Version. Yeah, I love that. Yeah,
- 37:47Speaker 3: that's wonderful.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Nice ye three nice, that's for sure. It is the
- 37:53Speaker 2: Scotty doesn't know there's like, for sure, I thought the
- 37:59Speaker 2: Amsterdam sequence was pretty funny.
- 38:02Speaker 3: So yeah, sure, the.
- 38:05Speaker 2: One dude is having a horrible time at the sex
- 38:07Speaker 2: club when she yells for the two leather bond dudes
- 38:11Speaker 2: and yells Hans Gruber. I loved it like that, that
- 38:17Speaker 2: was great. Then Scott and Jenny are thinking they're superstoned
- 38:21Speaker 2: on pop brownies, but they were just chocolate brownies. That
- 38:23Speaker 2: was kind of silly, ye. And then that's also when
- 38:28Speaker 2: Jamie goes to the camera store, meets the camera enthusiast
- 38:33Speaker 2: yes and gets mugged.
- 38:35Speaker 3: She was hot for a camera for sure, she really was.
- 38:38Speaker 2: So I thought that was a funny sequence. And then
- 38:40Speaker 2: another thing that actually made me laugh pretty hard. Should
- 38:44Speaker 2: not remember was during one of the day dream makeout
- 38:50Speaker 2: love making scenes, you just have David Hasselhoff singing in
- 38:54Speaker 2: the corner that killed him, so funny. I really thought
- 39:04Speaker 2: that was hilarious.
- 39:05Speaker 3: That's pretty great.
- 39:06Speaker 4: I like that a lot. Yeah, that was a good pix.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Uh, honestly, you guys said most of mine. I think
- 39:13Speaker 3: for me, it definitely is this guy he doesn't know,
- 39:15Speaker 3: because you get that tied in with uh Coop being
- 39:18Speaker 3: like just a dirt bag in the hot tub with
- 39:21Speaker 3: that girl.
- 39:22Speaker 2: I was like, can I just say sorry to interrupt?
- 39:25Speaker 2: That is right when my wife walked in and it
- 39:28Speaker 2: was like, what are you watching? I was like, this
- 39:31Speaker 2: is a movie Bukes really likes. I uh, I'm just
- 39:35Speaker 2: watching it.
- 39:37Speaker 3: This is from my job, Chelsey. It's really silly that much.
- 39:50Speaker 3: It was like the worst spot. It was the worst spot.
- 39:54Speaker 2: She was not impressed with this podcast.
- 39:57Speaker 3: I'll let you know. I understand she and everyone else
- 40:01Speaker 3: who's ever heard of it, but yes, going to be winners. Yeah,
- 40:09Speaker 3: but also coop like getting thrown back out, you know,
- 40:12Speaker 3: and into the party and all that stuff is just
- 40:14Speaker 3: I think that's a pretty fun that's a pretty fun scene.
- 40:17Speaker 3: And that song is just a banger, Like it's so good.
- 40:20Speaker 3: I can't get over it. But the robot scene is
- 40:22Speaker 3: so fun, especially the end when he's like my balls
- 40:27Speaker 3: or err.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Or my robot balls was.
- 40:31Speaker 3: It's really good, so dumb, and I love that. And
- 40:37Speaker 3: I would just like to give a shout out again
- 40:39Speaker 3: to the nude beach scene where the all the dongs
- 40:42Speaker 3: are flopping in the wind.
- 40:44Speaker 2: It is funny because I have been to it wasn't like, uh,
- 40:48Speaker 2: straight up, this is just a nude beach. It's like
- 40:50Speaker 2: a optional. It's always the dudes. It's always the old dudes.
- 40:57Speaker 3: That loves to do it, and you're just like, is
- 41:00Speaker 3: my future experience. That's where I belong in my future life?
- 41:05Speaker 3: But yeah, I love your best life. Man.
- 41:07Speaker 4: Let that breeze, you know, do it.
- 41:09Speaker 3: I'm great. Unless someone's got a telescope, they're not gonna
- 41:13Speaker 3: see anything anyway. Ah So, yes, it sounded like we
- 41:19Speaker 3: all liked this, right, have to? All right, I'm in
- 41:25Speaker 3: on it a little bit. Well, the dingis has been chosen.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Let's go ahead and talk about some of our favorite quotes.
- 41:29Speaker 3: It's time to show me the money they show me,
- 41:39Speaker 3: you'll say a couple of quotes, pal.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Right, I think I might have these in order. Maybe,
- 41:46Speaker 4: so towards the beginning, when they're first talking about the
- 41:48Speaker 4: road trip and Jenny is talking about meeting a French
- 41:50Speaker 4: guy and having like a romantic time out on a
- 41:53Speaker 4: boat with him, and Cooper just goes stuck on a
- 41:56Speaker 4: boat with a weird French guy. Sounds a little gay. Jenny,
- 42:00Speaker 4: not gay. I'm a girl, Scott kind of gay, Cooper
- 42:03Speaker 4: a little gay.
- 42:06Speaker 3: I'm a girl. That is such a late nineties, early
- 42:11Speaker 3: two thousands, bit right there for sure.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Then I had Cooper when they're in Bratislava and he's
- 42:18Speaker 4: reading the Fromer's book and he's like, oh, here's a
- 42:21Speaker 4: fun fact you made up with your sister man.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:27Speaker 4: And then the last one I had was Scott when
- 42:29Speaker 4: they're on the Brownies and he tells the gay porn once.
- 42:34Speaker 4: I didn't know until halfway in.
- 42:35Speaker 3: The girls never came. The girls never came. The amount
- 42:40Speaker 3: of times I have said that randomly in a conversation
- 42:44Speaker 3: is too high to even measure. That is the one
- 42:47Speaker 3: that I said was like my favorite life from this movie.
- 42:50Speaker 3: It's so good.
- 42:51Speaker 2: It is funny out of nowhere.
- 42:53Speaker 3: It's so hilarious.
- 42:55Speaker 4: That's like what really makes it is that there's no
- 42:57Speaker 4: setup to that whatsoever.
- 43:01Speaker 3: The girls.
- 43:05Speaker 4: Those are the ones that I, off the top of
- 43:06Speaker 4: my head had written down.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Are good. The comedy setup of saying something and then
- 43:11Speaker 3: like even more exasperatedly saying that again. It will always
- 43:16Speaker 3: get me. Yeah, we need to repeat that. Yeah, so funny.
- 43:23Speaker 2: One of my favorite things from this movie is just
- 43:26Speaker 2: Scott's email alert sound mail. So good, it's great every time.
- 43:35Speaker 2: What do you mean you're dumping me, Scott, I just
- 43:37Speaker 2: can't take all the lying and cheating on each other anymore.
- 43:40Speaker 2: What are you talking about, sweetie? I never cheated on you.
- 43:42Speaker 2: I know. That's what makes this so hard.
- 43:47Speaker 3: That part was that she was pretty great.
- 43:51Speaker 2: When they're talking about the nude beach, Cooper's like, what's
- 43:53Speaker 2: the etiquette on bonus? Do I roll over and dig
- 43:56Speaker 2: out a hole for it? Or is it cool to
- 43:57Speaker 2: just let my flag fly? When he's talking to Cooper
- 44:05Speaker 2: about what he wrote to her, and he's like, I
- 44:07Speaker 2: told her to keep her hands off my genital, He's like, well,
- 44:10Speaker 2: given what we know now, that seems like the exact
- 44:12Speaker 2: opposite of what you want.
- 44:14Speaker 4: That's pretty good. I almost wrote that one down too.
- 44:16Speaker 2: That's a good It was a great delivery on his part.
- 44:20Speaker 3: That's wonderful.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Administer the testicle clamps.
- 44:27Speaker 3: Yes, pretty good clean fun, That's what I'm saying, good
- 44:31Speaker 3: clean fun.
- 44:32Speaker 2: What is good clean fun is just the this isn't
- 44:34Speaker 2: where I parked my car and does that a couple
- 44:37Speaker 2: of times, and then he gets to the sex club
- 44:39Speaker 2: and it's like, this is definitely where I parked my car.
- 44:44Speaker 2: That was well done. That's what I wrote down.
- 44:47Speaker 3: What do you got buddy?
- 44:48Speaker 1: Oh, I.
- 44:51Speaker 3: I love the I think it's Minny Jones that does
- 44:53Speaker 3: the pretty good, pretty damn good lats. I love that
- 44:58Speaker 3: line for some reason. It cracks me up. And then
- 45:01Speaker 3: later after they get wasted, he just is like, you
- 45:04Speaker 3: got steamed up, pissed us a fart too much salsa.
- 45:09Speaker 3: That was just fun I've never heard. Yeah, when he's
- 45:15Speaker 3: screaming in front of the bus. In front of the bus,
- 45:18Speaker 3: it's so funny. You're on the wrong side of the road,
- 45:21Speaker 3: you snail eating boofs. Granted it's about their sexuality, not great,
- 45:27Speaker 3: but it's still funny. Uh. We're here to experience culture
- 45:32Speaker 3: and not see some stupid statue. I'm taking a nap.
- 45:38Speaker 3: It made me think of when we were in Europe
- 45:40Speaker 3: and Rob said, I feel like all we do is
- 45:41Speaker 3: sleep and eat, And then he rolled over and had
- 45:44Speaker 3: had a nap.
- 45:48Speaker 2: While laying next to a bag.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Yet amazing, and I was.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Like, classic, man, you're you're good.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Uh well no, What was funny about that quote was
- 45:58Speaker 2: that then he They're like, oh, we're gonna go to
- 46:01Speaker 2: a nude beach and he immediately is like, yes, we
- 46:04Speaker 2: need to get out there and experience the culture firsthand
- 46:07Speaker 2: or whatever. It was sitting around all day, right, that
- 46:10Speaker 2: was pretty great.
- 46:11Speaker 3: So good. And then he's like, there's so many penises,
- 46:19Speaker 3: good clink. Fun. Also when he's in the sex club
- 46:24Speaker 3: and he's like, ow ow flugain, these are all fun.
- 46:34Speaker 3: I also sexually assaulted a horse in Berlin. In Berlin,
- 46:37Speaker 3: when he's talking to the truck, that's all opt up. Yeah,
- 46:41Speaker 3: pretty fun, pretty fun.
- 46:43Speaker 2: I will literally drive us off a cliff before going
- 46:46Speaker 2: back to Berlin or whatever. He says, Yeah, I don't remember.
- 46:50Speaker 3: I also love Vinnie when he's talking to the Swiss
- 46:53Speaker 3: guard and he's like, he's like, I've had just about
- 46:56Speaker 3: enough of you fucking eye ties, but I am Swiss.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Well you too, just stupid and great. Here's a fun fact.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Voltear contracted syphilis just two blocks from here, and it's
- 47:12Speaker 3: a fun fact. I like it. Uh yeah, I might
- 47:18Speaker 3: have been all the ones I had. Though nice you
- 47:21Speaker 3: were the worst twins ever? Is a recurring theme. Well, yeah,
- 47:26Speaker 3: it was like that.
- 47:27Speaker 2: They made out the pretty bad.
- 47:30Speaker 3: They made twins had the Green Fairy. What are you
- 47:35Speaker 3: gonna do?
- 47:37Speaker 2: Yeah, let's move on to boogs boohoo moments. Did you
- 47:42Speaker 2: have any i really hope you didn't have any in
- 47:45Speaker 2: this one, buddy, I really really do. It's zero, like
- 47:50Speaker 2: a hard zero. There's nothing. There's nothing I.
- 47:55Speaker 4: Do am hopefully saying zero.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you're both right, good good good goody. This kind
- 48:04Speaker 3: of turned off the video. Let's let's we need to
- 48:07Speaker 3: really chat here, just amongst those boys.
- 48:10Speaker 2: You got to figure some things out.
- 48:12Speaker 3: No, there's not even anything in this that's remotely like.
- 48:15Speaker 4: No brought back some painful memories.
- 48:21Speaker 3: I was closer to closer to crying just because Rob
- 48:24Speaker 3: said hard zero, and that brought back painful memories, like
- 48:27Speaker 3: you know, someone calling me that. So it's fun. No, buddy,
- 48:31Speaker 3: I mean to like, no one's ever said such a thing.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Let's go to movie trivia. There was no boohooz Let's
- 48:37Speaker 3: go to movie trivia.
- 48:38Speaker 1: Uh.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Ninety five percent of this was filmed in Prague, and
- 48:42Speaker 3: entire streets would be green screened just to add in
- 48:46Speaker 3: Big Ben and other monuments from around Europe, and apparently
- 48:49Speaker 3: that still was the right price wise, the right movie.
- 48:52Speaker 2: The Big Ben scene is very noticeable that it's in
- 48:56Speaker 2: front of a green screen. It looks and actually U
- 49:00Speaker 2: when they're waiting in line at the Louver. That was
- 49:03Speaker 2: clearly green Nd as well, but prag Man. I love
- 49:08Speaker 2: Prague such.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Ever been that's all great, it's great.
- 49:13Speaker 2: I spent quite a lot of time there. I spent
- 49:16Speaker 2: a week there once, and then we've been there a
- 49:17Speaker 2: couple of times performing and it's it's a beautiful That
- 49:21Speaker 2: is the last venue we played before everything went to hell.
- 49:28Speaker 2: We like, I'm just thinking about that last day before
- 49:31Speaker 2: everything shut down. I did so much sight seeing with
- 49:35Speaker 2: just hundreds of people. Oh yeah, this was not probably.
- 49:42Speaker 4: Smart, but doesn't catch your money's worth, you know. Definitely
- 49:45Speaker 4: made the most of that sweet sweet freedom until we
- 49:48Speaker 4: didn't have it for a while.
- 49:49Speaker 3: Yes, yes, for sure.
- 49:51Speaker 2: It's a great city.
- 49:53Speaker 3: The kegs at the graduation party scene were filled with
- 49:56Speaker 3: real beer, and according to the directors, in the scene
- 49:59Speaker 3: where Cooper is thrown behind Scotty after the hot tub incident,
- 50:03Speaker 3: Jacob Pitts is quite inebriated. That's kind of fun, fun, Yeah,
- 50:07Speaker 3: that's pretty good. While filming that nude beach scene, Jacob
- 50:13Speaker 3: Pitts would not put his shorts back on because he
- 50:16Speaker 3: was enjoying how uncomfortable it made everyone else. And I
- 50:19Speaker 3: was like, that's problematic. Yeah, it is in character and
- 50:24Speaker 3: also like not cool. It seems like, I don't know,
- 50:27Speaker 3: you're really towing the line there. Let's see. Despite all
- 50:32Speaker 3: the political incorrectness in the film, there was one scene
- 50:35Speaker 3: that was just too much for the studio, referred to
- 50:38Speaker 3: as by the producers as the and Frank sex scene.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Oh Jesus no, do you want to hear more about
- 50:47Speaker 3: this or should we just move on?
- 50:49Speaker 2: I think we should move on. Okay, it's horrible.
- 50:52Speaker 3: Wow, it's it's it's it is both not as bad
- 50:56Speaker 3: as you think and worse than you think somehow, So
- 50:59Speaker 3: if you want to read that, go to IMDb you
- 51:01Speaker 3: can read about it. But it's thank god they had
- 51:03Speaker 3: some lines that they drew. Yeah in the old sand.
- 51:08Speaker 3: The nude beach scene originally had much less nudity in it,
- 51:11Speaker 3: but once they started filming, they realized it took away
- 51:14Speaker 3: from the comedy to have all the extras holding like
- 51:17Speaker 3: surfboards and other objects in front of themselves like Austin
- 51:21Speaker 3: power style where it would just cover their genitals, you know.
- 51:24Speaker 3: So they were like, wouldn't it be funnier if it
- 51:26Speaker 3: was just wall to wall penises, and the extras likely
- 51:30Speaker 3: didn't mind the change. According to Tracknenburg, there was a
- 51:33Speaker 3: lack of shyness between takes, making for an awkward craft
- 51:37Speaker 3: services environment and that's kind of weird too.
- 51:40Speaker 2: But honestly, I think they made the right call. It
- 51:43Speaker 2: was actually pretty as much as I wasn't like I
- 51:46Speaker 2: want to see one hundred penises, it was pretty funny, yeah, agreed, agreed.
- 51:53Speaker 4: Also it was it added to the comedy the fact
- 51:55Speaker 4: that it was so densely populated, like, yes, it's a
- 51:58Speaker 4: wide open beach, and then there's like thirty dudes in
- 52:01Speaker 4: one little.
- 52:02Speaker 3: Right next to each other too. Yeah. Uh in that
- 52:07Speaker 3: scene the first time that Michelle Trackdenburg did her bikini
- 52:11Speaker 3: scene where she like shakes out her hair, you know,
- 52:13Speaker 3: and all that she like shook her hair so much
- 52:16Speaker 3: she got dizzy and fell over. It's not a natural motion.
- 52:23Speaker 3: I get it.
- 52:24Speaker 4: That would have been kind of hilariously in character too.
- 52:26Speaker 4: I kind of think they should have left that.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it would have been funny. It would have
- 52:29Speaker 3: been funny for sure. Vinnie Jones was in the Premiere
- 52:34Speaker 3: League and played for Wimbledon, so he was not still
- 52:38Speaker 3: not and never has been, a Manchester United fan, which
- 52:40Speaker 3: I thought was funny and I wonder if he got
- 52:42Speaker 3: Nico for them.
- 52:43Speaker 4: Yeah, he Chelsea. Actually, so that's it's it.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Is prettyretty wild, right, that's crazy considering I remember Ben
- 52:51Speaker 2: Affleck got in a huge fight with David Fincher because
- 52:55Speaker 2: he refused to wear a Yankees cat right girl, And
- 53:02Speaker 2: Vinnie Jones was actually playing for Chelsea and was playing
- 53:05Speaker 2: in Manchester United.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty well, pretty well good. Also, it was bitterly
- 53:13Speaker 3: cold on the day of filming the nude beach scene apparently,
- 53:16Speaker 3: and they were forced to huddle under blankets between takes, so.
- 53:19Speaker 2: It was cold.
- 53:20Speaker 3: It was cold. I was in the pool. There was
- 53:24Speaker 3: apparently a different ending, a bittersweet ending, which had Scott
- 53:28Speaker 3: declaring his love Tumika at Vatican City, but she ultimately
- 53:33Speaker 3: turns him down.
- 53:34Speaker 4: I actually, like, I didn't really remember how this movie
- 53:38Speaker 4: ended such a long time, and I kind of thought
- 53:40Speaker 4: that was what was gonna happen. It means like it
- 53:42Speaker 4: was setting up for that.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Well that makes more sense, right, Like, I mean, honestly, yeah,
- 53:47Speaker 3: But apparently the studio didn't want it to be that way,
- 53:51Speaker 3: and so they came up with the like abrupt cut
- 53:55Speaker 3: to them having sex in the confessional and then you know,
- 53:57Speaker 3: the extended ending of her showing up at but the
- 54:01Speaker 3: Green Fairy coming in and making the negative comment about
- 54:04Speaker 3: the happy ending may have been a reference to this
- 54:07Speaker 3: change and how they didn't like love that sure, which
- 54:10Speaker 3: I thought was kind of funny. It made sense, but whatever.
- 54:16Speaker 3: At the end of the deleted scenes slash bloopers during
- 54:18Speaker 3: the credits, the lead singer of the band playing Scotty
- 54:21Speaker 3: Doesn't Know screams. The scream is from the end of
- 54:25Speaker 3: Howard Dean's famous two thousand and four campaign speech Wow,
- 54:29Speaker 3: which I never knew, but I thought it's really funny. Really,
- 54:35Speaker 3: if we're going to California and we're going to when
- 54:40Speaker 3: that would ruin your political career? Yeah, with different in
- 54:44Speaker 3: that weird God, that's so weird. I feel like such
- 54:48Speaker 3: an old man being like in my day. But yeah,
- 54:52Speaker 3: I just thought that was pretty wild. And also this
- 54:54Speaker 3: came out in four right, so like they must have
- 54:57Speaker 3: made that decision pretty late to go with that, which
- 55:01Speaker 3: is pretty well very topical. Though.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Wasn't there a band called Howard Dean's Scream? I think
- 55:06Speaker 4: there is.
- 55:06Speaker 3: I think there is, say, although honestly you probably told
- 55:10Speaker 3: me that if I know it, so it makes sense.
- 55:14Speaker 3: Be making that up. But yeah, that was all the
- 55:17Speaker 3: trivia I had though, I think Rob, did you see anything.
- 55:19Speaker 2: There was anything about actors at all, and just just
- 55:24Speaker 2: that stuff that you said.
- 55:25Speaker 3: Yeah, well they got up there all their first choices
- 55:28Speaker 3: for every part, so that makes sense. Well clearly, Yeah, Neil,
- 55:33Speaker 3: did you run across any trivia you but just curious? Okay,
- 55:36Speaker 3: not really.
- 55:37Speaker 4: I it is funny to me though that, Like, it
- 55:39Speaker 4: feels like they probably spend more on cameos than they
- 55:41Speaker 4: did on the main cast for this movie.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost certainly true.
- 55:45Speaker 3: What was the budget for this movie? I'm gonna look
- 55:47Speaker 3: real quick.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I mean, if they weren't even going to the locations,
- 55:52Speaker 2: I can't imagine it was too horrible, Like and.
- 55:56Speaker 4: They're filming in Prague, like they're in Europe and they
- 55:58Speaker 4: didn't go to other Europeans.
- 56:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right. It was twenty five million gross gross.
- 56:08Speaker 3: It had to why twenty two to six? It didn't
- 56:12Speaker 3: lost money. Apparently lost money, although the budget is estimated,
- 56:16Speaker 3: so maybe that's not true. I don't know. Okay, yikes.
- 56:21Speaker 3: It's six point seven mili in the first weekend and
- 56:24Speaker 3: then not a lot more.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Well, that's a good segue. Will there be a sequel?
- 56:29Speaker 2: Probably not? It lost money. It lost money, And like
- 56:34Speaker 2: we said, it kind of felt like this was a
- 56:38Speaker 2: sequel to Road Trip.
- 56:40Speaker 3: Yeah, like road trippy movies are.
- 56:44Speaker 4: Found out, this wasn't a sequel, so we could say
- 56:48Speaker 4: that there's not going to be for sure follow up.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah, probably not, probably not.
- 56:53Speaker 3: A boy can dream, though, a boy can dream.
- 56:56Speaker 2: Well, do you want to dream about playing a fun game?
- 56:59Speaker 3: Oh my god, yeah, let's do it. Let's do it.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Let's play a game. I did a starting five this time,
- 57:06Speaker 2: and this is where I named my five favorite actors
- 57:08Speaker 2: from a film. When you know the film, you ring
- 57:11Speaker 2: in with your name. If you get it wrong, there's
- 57:13Speaker 2: no negative points, but you won't be able to guess
- 57:15Speaker 2: again for that movie. If their actors names remini, you
- 57:19Speaker 2: can guess those for a point each. The other person
- 57:22Speaker 2: can steal if you're get in any of those names wrong,
- 57:26Speaker 2: and all of these films have something in common. When
- 57:28Speaker 2: you know the theme, you can ring in at anytime
- 57:31Speaker 2: for a point.
- 57:33Speaker 3: Sweet, nice, feel good, feels great, Let's do it.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Let's do it. Number one. The first name Tom Wilkinson.
- 57:46Speaker 3: The second name.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Mark Ruffalo, the third name Kirsten Dunst, Neil Neil Eternal.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Sense of the spots.
- 58:00Speaker 2: Yes, it is the last we did with Neil. What
- 58:06Speaker 2: are the other two names remaining?
- 58:10Speaker 4: Jim Carrey correct and Kate Winslet.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Neil's got three points. All right, book, nicely done. Let's
- 58:22Speaker 2: go to number two. The first name is Charlotte Riley.

- 58:58Speaker 2: points for Bugs. I remember he was in that nice
- 59:02Speaker 2: nicely done.
- 59:04Speaker 3: Can I guess the theme?
- 59:06Speaker 2: Yes you can?
- 59:06Speaker 3: Is the movies that start with an E.
- 59:08Speaker 2: It's movies that start with an E. Yes, we're all
- 59:12Speaker 2: tie it up at three and yeah, some of these
- 59:17Speaker 2: are are better than others. None of them will start
- 59:22Speaker 2: off with the E. It is going to start with E,
