- 0:03Speaker 1: So we got splack hair spilling the tea on everything
- 0:05Speaker 1: about splack. But we gotta start with an eating while
- 0:08Speaker 1: broke dish. So what do you have us eating today? Today?
- 0:13Speaker 1: I have us eating top ramen noodles with ena sausages.
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's something that I used to eat a lot growing
- 0:26Speaker 1: up in college, especially during my rough times. Nice And
- 0:30Speaker 1: then I see you have a secret and ingredient because
- 0:33Speaker 1: I couldn't buy this secret yeah, this right here. You
- 0:36Speaker 1: won't be able to buy this anywhere unless you know
- 0:39Speaker 1: a Haitian parents somewhere and they're willing to offer you this.
- 0:43Speaker 1: But it's basically a bunch of vegetables cut up in
- 0:46Speaker 1: the really small pieces and they add a lot of
- 0:49Speaker 1: like it has a very very strong taste and very
- 0:52Speaker 1: strong smell, and it's very spicy. And every family is
- 0:56Speaker 1: different as far as how spicey like to make it.
- 0:59Speaker 1: But these days to run for like a small little
- 1:03Speaker 1: cup for like five dollars. What's it called? Though? It
- 1:06Speaker 1: is called kick lee? So is it pickled vegetables? Pickled vegetables?
- 1:15Speaker 1: This is called pickles. I don't know where they get
- 1:17Speaker 1: that turn from, but I think it's catchy, like it quick? Yeah, awesome.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Well let's go to ad break and while we go
- 1:28Speaker 1: to ad break, maybe we could start boiling this ramen.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we can set started to get started. Yeah,
- 1:35Speaker 1: before the water boils out, cook tu man, I'm gonna
- 1:46Speaker 1: be hungry to the they't advertise do you have? That's
- 1:51Speaker 1: how that's how broke it? Were you have have a ramen?
- 1:55Speaker 1: So I'll break it and say the other head, really,
- 1:58Speaker 1: you're really that broke? Yeah, it was college, So take
- 2:03Speaker 1: us back when were you eating? This was back in
- 2:06Speaker 1: Florida and the university back in two thousand and six seven.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I don't know when I graduated or was in college,
- 2:13Speaker 1: but I remember those times where financial abeles very very
- 2:20Speaker 1: very limited. It wasn't that much. And of course, you
- 2:24Speaker 1: know when you join activities in the school ground, you
- 2:27Speaker 1: gotta pay for certain things like the fraternity. You know,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I had to pay a lot of my uh financial
- 2:33Speaker 1: aid went into that. And so of course we had
- 2:37Speaker 1: you know, mill plans on school campuses, but even that
- 2:41Speaker 1: would take that if you if you had a mill plan,
- 2:44Speaker 1: that would take away from your financial aid. So I
- 2:46Speaker 1: was like, no, I can just stick it through. I
- 2:48Speaker 1: don't want to financially, I figured out the food. So
- 2:50Speaker 1: I used to be on campus, no finding, no mill
- 2:52Speaker 1: plan because I was trying to just get every dollar
- 2:56Speaker 1: that I can and I would just try to like
- 3:01Speaker 1: make the best out of because that the rent was
- 3:03Speaker 1: so high. And then I knew I wanted to join
- 3:05Speaker 1: activities like either the football squad or danced squad or fraternity.
- 3:09Speaker 1: All of that take money. So I had to stub
- 3:12Speaker 1: to too, like, Okay, if I want to join these things,
- 3:15Speaker 1: I gotta you know that it's my food and this
- 3:19Speaker 1: was it and usually this is a lot. I used
- 3:21Speaker 1: to cut it in half just so I can save
- 3:24Speaker 1: it throughout the day. But but then what would you
- 3:28Speaker 1: do to fill up? So you were just like never
- 3:30Speaker 1: full and I was never full. And to this day
- 3:33Speaker 1: I would say that that's how I am now, Like
- 3:35Speaker 1: I think it affected me so bad. Food Now, if
- 3:38Speaker 1: you can act unique for my girl back there, Uh,
- 3:42Speaker 1: it's like I eat very small and it's just not
- 3:45Speaker 1: because I want to just a thing that I've been
- 3:47Speaker 1: doing for so long that it helped me get along
- 3:51Speaker 1: or it helped me get past a lot of the
- 3:54Speaker 1: rough days in my college years. That is not ingrading me,
- 3:58Speaker 1: Like it just doesn't leave I was your girl, I
- 4:01Speaker 1: would definitely benefit from someone that doesn't eat all their
- 4:04Speaker 1: food so you don't get mad when she's in your dish.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You're like, go ahead, baby, you can't all that. You
- 4:13Speaker 1: got this talk like, yeah, go ahead, how about you?
- 4:20Speaker 1: And it works out. Yeah, I guess, so it works out. So,
- 4:26Speaker 1: just kind of going off topic, I noticed you talk
- 4:28Speaker 1: about being a superhero and Marvel being in a Marvel movie.
- 4:32Speaker 1: And when I look at your Instagram and a lot
- 4:35Speaker 1: of the content you put down out, it's a lot action.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, is that is that where you where your inspiration? Yeah?
- 4:45Speaker 1: And this kind of came from like me trying to
- 4:48Speaker 1: find a way to stand out. I had, um, you know,
- 4:53Speaker 1: I started off on buying. No, you guys haven't no,
- 4:58Speaker 1: you know, I started off on buying. But I remember
- 5:00Speaker 1: one time this girl said to me and we're like, oh,
- 5:04Speaker 1: you guys are funny, but you guys are all like
- 5:06Speaker 1: the same because they're like, you guys have nothing different
- 5:10Speaker 1: about you guys. And I remember that was true. Like
- 5:12Speaker 1: we used like one of our friends would create a
- 5:14Speaker 1: video and then it was just like, you know, we
- 5:17Speaker 1: all try to remake what he did, because if he
- 5:20Speaker 1: went viral. We're like, oh, then went viral. Let's try
- 5:23Speaker 1: to do that but make it our own. And after
- 5:25Speaker 1: while it worked, but then people start catching onto that
- 5:28Speaker 1: and you start seeing people like, oh, you guys are
- 5:31Speaker 1: copying this person or this is just like that person video,
- 5:34Speaker 1: and that was like, so I like, how can I
- 5:37Speaker 1: stand out? I knew I I was a fraternity guy,
- 5:41Speaker 1: I was a dancer back from college, and I knew
- 5:44Speaker 1: I loved to do fight stuff. But you know, it's crazy.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I've never fought in my entire life. I've never got
- 5:51Speaker 1: into one fight ever, but people would fake like my friends.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Now I think like I can man handle anybody, because yeah,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but I've never got to fight in my entire life.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I don't know why, and I like, it's so bad.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I used to work um at the Roosevelt Hotel as
- 6:13Speaker 1: a security guard overnight and this is after college, after
- 6:17Speaker 1: grad school, and I was the security guard, sprawling little
- 6:21Speaker 1: me as a security guard, and I remember I used
- 6:23Speaker 1: to guard the door at the you know, at our
- 6:26Speaker 1: at our hotel, we have like different rooms they have
- 6:29Speaker 1: like nightclubs. And then I tell you I issue not
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm not trying to curse, but there will be altercation
- 6:38Speaker 1: will drop people with my other security guards and they
- 6:42Speaker 1: will be yelling and they're like, yo, you need to
- 6:44Speaker 1: get out of here. And the guy who would jump
- 6:46Speaker 1: like a few men, that's my bar. That's like they're
- 6:51Speaker 1: whatever they they're yelling at and then um, as soon
- 6:55Speaker 1: as I come for some reason, I don't know if
- 6:58Speaker 1: it's because of my face or you're high, you're not
- 7:01Speaker 1: at all. No, the guys and it was just dead it.
- 7:08Speaker 1: They'll come to meybe yelling at the other person, and
- 7:11Speaker 1: they'll come, bro, man, what's something? How can I get
- 7:13Speaker 1: in the club? Man? And I'm just trying to have
- 7:15Speaker 1: a good time. They'll come to me talking calm. And
- 7:17Speaker 1: that's how my whole entire life always been good in
- 7:23Speaker 1: public and job related stuff. I've never get to fight,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and I've always wanted to. Oh, okay, well because I
- 7:30Speaker 1: don't want to see, like, you know, people gonna watch
- 7:33Speaker 1: us and listen to this, and they're gonna they're gonna
- 7:35Speaker 1: try to challenge you. They come chal me, I don't
- 7:43Speaker 1: know good. I don't want to see if I can
- 7:44Speaker 1: hold my own? How do you go from college? You know?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Then you you're pursuing film correct, Yeah, but I wasn't.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Actually I studied criminal justice actually just because I wanted
- 8:01Speaker 1: to feel like I was doing something important, Like I
- 8:04Speaker 1: want to be a lawyer. I wanted to be in
- 8:06Speaker 1: a swat team still around fighting. Okay, okay, I see
- 8:10Speaker 1: this really cool along with sat I wanted to be Remember,
- 8:16Speaker 1: I wanted to be a garbage man wants. I wanted
- 8:21Speaker 1: to be that. I wanted to be a swat team.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I wanted to be uh in a marine. I wanted to.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I guess it's all kind of like, oh, you want
- 8:28Speaker 1: something I thought was all right, But yeah, I studied
- 8:35Speaker 1: criminal justice, and then from there I also, uh, then
- 8:39Speaker 1: it got to you don't know. I'm good. I'm good.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I don't look at how a little bit of food
- 8:44Speaker 1: I have. Guys, I'm gonna be starving what I want
- 8:48Speaker 1: way more than this college called Coco Cocoa Scrabble. My
- 8:54Speaker 1: fraternity brothers are gonna be laughing at the stuff. But Colleen,
- 8:58Speaker 1: thank you, thank you. All right. But I also did
- 9:04Speaker 1: a minor and performance arts um and uh even then,
- 9:09Speaker 1: when I started doing performance arts, I wasn't really into
- 9:12Speaker 1: it like that. And it wasn't until like I was
- 9:15Speaker 1: forced to a play because of their fourth year, you
- 9:17Speaker 1: have to do a play to like graduate, And I
- 9:20Speaker 1: did a play and I think it was like after
- 9:23Speaker 1: the second night that a kid came up to me
- 9:26Speaker 1: and was like because the play was like a very
- 9:29Speaker 1: dramatic playing and You're like, oh, I watching your play, man,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I just want to say thank you. You want you
- 9:36Speaker 1: maybe want to reach out back to my mom and
- 9:39Speaker 1: kind of rebuild our relationship. So thank you. And I
- 9:42Speaker 1: was kind of blown away from that because that little interaction, uh,
- 9:46Speaker 1: is what led me to be here to this day.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I like, that's one of the only conversations I had
- 9:51Speaker 1: with the individual that I would never ever forget. And
- 9:53Speaker 1: I don't know why, but it just kind of I can't.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I think that's who the conversations that opened my mind
- 9:58Speaker 1: and my like I idea of like pursuing this fully
- 10:02Speaker 1: because I like, if I can change a kid perspective
- 10:06Speaker 1: on life, on how to like a pro certain things
- 10:09Speaker 1: and reach out back to his mom, and he was
- 10:11Speaker 1: very sincere at the time. It took me a while
- 10:13Speaker 1: to like understand what impact I had on this kid, Like,
- 10:17Speaker 1: but that inspired me and I'm like, dang, this is
- 10:20Speaker 1: pretty cool. I guess I can do I guess I
- 10:22Speaker 1: do have a purpose because for once in my life,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I felt like I I serve a purpose. I did
- 10:29Speaker 1: something to help someone else, And to this day, Um,
- 10:33Speaker 1: the thing that kind of keeps me pushing is just
- 10:37Speaker 1: literally I don't know how many other people who have
- 10:39Speaker 1: here who can't agree with me as far as influences,
- 10:41Speaker 1: but it's the comments to fans who reach out and
- 10:44Speaker 1: who tells you. You know, I had people who were
- 10:48Speaker 1: in the hospital and they were like, yo, your videos
- 10:51Speaker 1: helped me out through a lot, and all of that
- 10:54Speaker 1: is always kind of like, yes, this is what I like.
- 10:57Speaker 1: This is the reason why I keep doing it, and
- 11:01Speaker 1: I can do this as long as I'm making somebody
- 11:04Speaker 1: days better or happier or because this war is a
- 11:07Speaker 1: stressful world already, and so that we kind of pushed
- 11:11Speaker 1: me towards where I'm at now. And why I keep pushing,
- 11:14Speaker 1: it's just the fans. So I want to take it
- 11:17Speaker 1: back to Vine. So you you graduate college, Hm, when
- 11:22Speaker 1: does Vine end up into changing in that hole? So?
- 11:27Speaker 1: I think I graduated from college in two thousand and twelve,
- 11:31Speaker 1: and I think immediately I went to grad school to
- 11:34Speaker 1: New York Film Academy, and I was in school with
- 11:38Speaker 1: one of my good friends Batch. We also went to
- 11:41Speaker 1: college together. I didn't know that. Yeah, he went to
- 11:45Speaker 1: U know what, He went to Florida State. I went
- 11:47Speaker 1: to Florida and M University. They're literally next door neighbors.
- 11:50Speaker 1: We joined the same fraternity at the same time. That's
- 11:52Speaker 1: how I knew him. Were in the same fraternity and
- 11:54Speaker 1: he was doing videos. I've seen him his videos in
- 11:57Speaker 1: earlier days. I just never really paying attention to that
- 12:00Speaker 1: cause I never thought I'd be into this. And then
- 12:02Speaker 1: right after college, I went out to New York Film
- 12:06Speaker 1: Academy that's here in California, and they have one also
- 12:09Speaker 1: in New York. And then I think the very next year,
- 12:12Speaker 1: Batch came in and he went to New y from
- 12:15Speaker 1: Academy and we went to school together that two years.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Within the two years, uh, I remember seeing Badge doing
- 12:21Speaker 1: these little six second videos. I didn't know what they
- 12:24Speaker 1: were but why he was doing it. But I remember
- 12:29Speaker 1: him at the time where he had only like fifty
- 12:32Speaker 1: thousand followers on Buying and he was like, yo, I
- 12:35Speaker 1: got this amount of people my beautiful and viral and
- 12:38Speaker 1: it was just like okay whatever. And then it wasn't
- 12:41Speaker 1: until like he had like three hundred thousand, and other
- 12:45Speaker 1: people were doing it um and I remember LeAnn v
- 12:53Speaker 1: I was, I was, I think in Dave Stormhouse and
- 12:57Speaker 1: it was her day storm Badge and of our few friends,
- 13:01Speaker 1: and I remember Leam was doing a brand deal and
- 13:05Speaker 1: it was a killer Brandon for like twenty thousand for
- 13:09Speaker 1: six seconds, and that's back. That's back and before social
- 13:16Speaker 1: media became a thing, before that's even making twenty thousand
- 13:20Speaker 1: and six seconds and two thousand and twelve were eleven
- 13:24Speaker 1: and I was working at the Roosevelt Hotel making chump
- 13:29Speaker 1: chain dealing with drunk people, and I think that would
- 13:32Speaker 1: open my mind and my like I did like pursue it,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and I started doing videos at my job every time.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I knew that all the cameras around my job, so
- 13:43Speaker 1: I would always try to like use the blindside of
- 13:46Speaker 1: the cameras to do something really quick because my job,
- 13:48Speaker 1: I used to work from ten PM to six I
- 13:50Speaker 1: was a graveyards and from like seven to eleven, I'll
- 13:55Speaker 1: take a little nap or rest, and if I'm like
- 13:57Speaker 1: twelve to like three four years, I'll try to like
- 14:02Speaker 1: uh film some stuff with my friends because they were
- 14:05Speaker 1: all doing very well. And then from like six to
- 14:07Speaker 1: seven or eight, I'll try to take a nap or
- 14:10Speaker 1: do some work or some classic I was in class.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I try to Like, So you were still in film
- 14:15Speaker 1: school when you guys were taping vines. Yeah, and it
- 14:18Speaker 1: did batch in Lean and day Storm today. Did you
- 14:21Speaker 1: just say, hey, guys, I want to join you guys
- 14:23Speaker 1: or where you just you just kind of got in
- 14:25Speaker 1: where you're fitting. That's gonna be so salty. I'm curious.
- 14:31Speaker 1: First of all, you gotta do too, Yetta see his girlfriend.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I'm sorry, guys, we gotta shout her out because I
- 14:39Speaker 1: don't know if this man has ever cooked for you. Look, okay,
- 14:42Speaker 1: this is not that bad. I'm doing it how it
- 14:44Speaker 1: was in college, just for all the listeners. He drained
- 14:48Speaker 1: the ramen and then he took the seasoning of the
- 14:51Speaker 1: ramen and he put it on the dry ramen. Yeah, okay, okay, okay,
- 14:58Speaker 1: you go. That's all you need. So so they help
- 15:01Speaker 1: you with your your They they you guys pulled together
- 15:07Speaker 1: and you guys are all doing these these videos. Um,
- 15:11Speaker 1: was it a hard ask them or were you just
- 15:13Speaker 1: like I wanted? It was kind of because it was
- 15:22Speaker 1: kind of because I don't like asking for favors. I
- 15:25Speaker 1: don't like I don't like any hand out. So it
- 15:27Speaker 1: was one of those things where I tried to fit
- 15:29Speaker 1: in where I can. If they needed help, I help.
- 15:31Speaker 1: And so I got The way I got in was
- 15:34Speaker 1: like actually learning how to whip camp. It's kind of
- 15:38Speaker 1: like be a very good camera guy. And because viron
- 15:42Speaker 1: had no transition, we used to do like one of
- 15:45Speaker 1: these so you just we the camera around so we
- 15:51Speaker 1: cut so that we can do a whole transition. And
- 15:54Speaker 1: I was I was like the guy that everyone go to.
- 15:57Speaker 1: So after I got so good with like whipping the camp,
- 16:00Speaker 1: and they're like, can you be a part of this? Yeah?
- 16:04Speaker 1: And then um, that's kind of like how I got in.
- 16:07Speaker 1: And I started growing my following and I remember, yeah,
- 16:11Speaker 1: I figured with you one sausage, we got half a
- 16:16Speaker 1: rama and a Vienna sausage. And then I remember working
- 16:20Speaker 1: at the Roseby Hotel. After a while, I had like
- 16:22Speaker 1: two hundred thousand followers and I got fired from my job.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I remember the day when I got fired because I
- 16:27Speaker 1: got caught like filming so much on the property. They
- 16:33Speaker 1: were like, um, it really it's this this story. I
- 16:39Speaker 1: wouldn't forget too, because I remember them sitting They were
- 16:41Speaker 1: sitting right across from me, and they were like, hey, Jean,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I'm really sorry that you just is like your third
- 16:46Speaker 1: time on the phone and you know you can't be
- 16:48Speaker 1: on the phone, and then we're just gonna have to
- 16:49Speaker 1: let you go. And I just sat there and I'm
- 16:52Speaker 1: like uh. And then he the other guy comes in
- 16:56Speaker 1: the supervisor. They're like, yeah, I'm really sorry. You never
- 17:00Speaker 1: gonna find a better opportunity in what you have now,
- 17:02Speaker 1: And then they're saying the result the Roosevelt was the
- 17:06Speaker 1: best opportunity at this time. And then I was so shocked,
- 17:11Speaker 1: Like them laying me off wasn't the problem. It was
- 17:15Speaker 1: that comment that kind of set with me. I would
- 17:17Speaker 1: never forget. Uh. And his name is Cory Johnson working
- 17:22Speaker 1: me now, Hey, okay, he literally said you're never going
- 17:28Speaker 1: to find out a better job. Because I understand his
- 17:30Speaker 1: perspective at that time, buying touch me, it wasn't a
- 17:33Speaker 1: thing you didn't understand that they way of thinking was
- 17:35Speaker 1: just meeting people, networking, auditioning, and that's there were a
- 17:38Speaker 1: lot of people like Roosevelt held so much premier. So
- 17:41Speaker 1: I understand when he was coming from and it's not
- 17:44Speaker 1: his fault. Yeah, that's where he's that's where he thought
- 17:47Speaker 1: at the time, at the time when he was saying that,
- 17:50Speaker 1: did you think you were onto something? But let me
- 17:52Speaker 1: see okay, let me let me test. Is it good? Okay?
- 17:59Speaker 1: If the way, I didn't see you heat of these
- 18:01Speaker 1: Vana sausages. Okay, he's the one's haste has he is
- 18:06Speaker 1: messing up all the format of eating wall broke. I
- 18:08Speaker 1: love it. You don't not do that. It was good,
- 18:13Speaker 1: they was good. That would be really salty. And then
- 18:17Speaker 1: you want to I want to try the Vana sausage. Old,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you gotta heat these things up? Man? Why you gotta
- 18:25Speaker 1: eat them? Phase up? You want to eat them up?
- 18:28Speaker 1: Never eating at your house? Man? Up? No, no, no no,
- 18:32Speaker 1: it's fine. I want to hear more of this story. Wait,
- 18:36Speaker 1: I want to try some of your pickle pickle up pickles,
- 18:41Speaker 1: probably pick pickles pickles. I was close, So you go ahead.
- 18:52Speaker 1: You want to take a small amount, take a small
- 18:55Speaker 1: amount where you ain't gonna I'm just doing. Know that
- 19:00Speaker 1: I took way more than a small amount. That helped me.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Here we go. Wait wait, wait, get that big chunk
- 19:04Speaker 1: you could come all that you better take the whole time.
- 19:07Speaker 1: I see a big trunk right there. What do you mean? No,
- 19:10Speaker 1: you said, don't take a big chunk. Okay, guys, I'm
- 19:13Speaker 1: trying that. There's nothing on there. You just said, I
- 19:18Speaker 1: it's gonna be really spicy. Help me, guys, we may
- 19:22Speaker 1: have to cut to a commercial. Oh my god, two commercials?
- 19:35Speaker 1: What's going with it? Let's no look, look, you gotta
- 19:45Speaker 1: put a whole thing it back. Bamn, you know what
- 19:47Speaker 1: I mean? You gotta live there. Come on, man, ain't
- 19:51Speaker 1: nothing wrong with you. It's hard to get back. I
- 19:56Speaker 1: Oh my god, that was way so spicy for all
- 19:58Speaker 1: your listeners. If you ever get what is that you
- 20:03Speaker 1: put it? Oh my gosh, that thing is way too spicy.
- 20:07Speaker 1: It's definitely not pickled. It's you don't need hot sauce.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Why did you even ask for hot sauce? You're doing
- 20:14Speaker 1: on cop you know idea? Yo? Yo? Please came resuming
- 20:23Speaker 1: on him eating this? What do you gotta put a
- 20:25Speaker 1: little bit type of They all got different flavors? You know,
- 20:28Speaker 1: you don't you know what it is that this pickle?
- 20:31Speaker 1: What is it? Pick pickles has destroyed all your taste buds.
- 20:35Speaker 1: So you can't even taste the hot sauce. That's what
- 20:37Speaker 1: it is. Yes, this needs apparent warning label that nice? Yeah, yeah,
- 20:47Speaker 1: that's that's crazy, like something my food? Are you so bad?
- 20:53Speaker 1: Like if I don't see my nose running, it's not
- 20:56Speaker 1: good enough. That's because yeah, pick what is it again?
- 21:02Speaker 1: Pickley's destroyed all your taste buds because honestly, you shouldn't
- 21:06Speaker 1: be able to. I can't even feel anything in my
- 21:08Speaker 1: mouth right now. So you get fired from the Roosevelt. Okay,
- 21:14Speaker 1: you know at that time, you for sure, knowing your
- 21:17Speaker 1: heart and your spirit, that it's that you're headed in
- 21:21Speaker 1: the right direction, or is a part of you that's
- 21:23Speaker 1: scared scared? I was scared because I didn't know, Uh,
- 21:29Speaker 1: I wasn't making any money, and I didn't know, uh
- 21:32Speaker 1: if this would have popped off from me, you know,
- 21:34Speaker 1: and I only had a few hundred thousands on there,
- 21:38Speaker 1: and it wasn't to like the very like a couple
- 21:41Speaker 1: of weeks that I played my first gig, and it
- 21:44Speaker 1: was like at the time, was I thought it was great?
- 21:47Speaker 1: What was your first gigumb What do you have to do?
- 21:54Speaker 1: You know? Love story? How much? How much do you
- 21:57Speaker 1: get paid? Okay? That was your first six second video,
- 22:03Speaker 1: and I was like that is good because I do
- 22:04Speaker 1: work a whole week. Yeah, so like that is I'll
- 22:08Speaker 1: take that, even though I don't believe in dating us.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And the brands were reaching out to you guys, they're
- 22:13Speaker 1: reaching out to me. And then I was doing Bumble
- 22:15Speaker 1: probably like two to three times, so like so like that,
- 22:21Speaker 1: so I was making that like I don't know how.
- 22:25Speaker 1: God always just making money. And ever since then, I've
- 22:28Speaker 1: never had to work again except really And I was
- 22:34Speaker 1: gonna ask you, so Vine's gone, you know, and we
- 22:37Speaker 1: heard the backstory I had day Storm broke it down.
- 22:40Speaker 1: It was a it was a crazy backstory. Were you
- 22:42Speaker 1: one of the influencers in the meeting? So how do
- 22:49Speaker 1: how does the influencer make money? Because I know uying
- 22:52Speaker 1: back when day was doing brand news. It's because it's
- 22:54Speaker 1: so spicy. Honestly, I can't eve feel my didn't even
- 23:01Speaker 1: feel like dumbas Oh, so Vine's gone? How do you
- 23:11Speaker 1: make money on Instagram? Uh? Instagram? So I think vining
- 23:16Speaker 1: died out when I had a round like nine hundred thousand,
- 23:19Speaker 1: baby a million, it's still hot, and um I started
- 23:24Speaker 1: making money just some like third party apps companies reaching
- 23:27Speaker 1: out to me. Um. But even then, when I think
- 23:30Speaker 1: we're buying died out, I hopped up to Instagram and
- 23:33Speaker 1: Instagram I still had like ropertly I like a hundred
- 23:37Speaker 1: at had that much because for some reason people don't
- 23:39Speaker 1: like me Instagram. I don't know why. Really, you have
- 23:41Speaker 1: a how many it's like a couple of million or
- 23:44Speaker 1: one point five or something like that now, but it
- 23:48Speaker 1: is not really probably like really quested my stuff all
- 23:52Speaker 1: the time. What are you talking about? I don't know
- 23:55Speaker 1: where the rest of these people like sometimes I have them,
- 23:58Speaker 1: but I think this is really one like one percent
- 24:02Speaker 1: of it really, like really your engagement on it. So
- 24:05Speaker 1: I have one point three but I don't really think
- 24:07Speaker 1: that who actively time for me? But um, I started
- 24:12Speaker 1: making money through third party ads, but it wasn't until um,
- 24:18Speaker 1: we're buying that out. I tried Instagram. Instagram was always
- 24:21Speaker 1: fifteen seconds, but it wasn't working that well for me,
- 24:23Speaker 1: And then everyone started doing Facebook video and that's when
- 24:27Speaker 1: I grew from like fifty thousand to like a million
- 24:31Speaker 1: on it so quickly. I don't know how. What's a
- 24:33Speaker 1: Facebook video? You mean, like you know you can have
- 24:36Speaker 1: a Facebook yeah, and you have a Facebook fan page,
- 24:39Speaker 1: and you can actually grow your page on there too.
- 24:42Speaker 1: It's just like Instagram and all that stuff. So it's
- 24:44Speaker 1: actually a fan page problem. But I grew my father's
- 24:47Speaker 1: there and then that kind of helped with my social media.
- 24:51Speaker 1: But mostly most of my brand came to Facebook, and
- 24:55Speaker 1: Facebook was pain to monetizing. Facebook wasn't monetized at the moment.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I'm Instagram wasn't one typo moment, and so I was
- 25:02Speaker 1: gonna pay being monetized and third party company. And then
- 25:08Speaker 1: they were literally come to my Facebook and noticed I
- 25:10Speaker 1: had it and there what was that number on Instagram
- 25:17Speaker 1: that you hit where you were like whoa oh? When
- 25:20Speaker 1: I was like like I'm doing something here. Yeah, uh,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I thought it was when I hit a million, But
- 25:31Speaker 1: nowadays a million don't a millions hard. But it wasn't
- 25:35Speaker 1: like when you first set your first hundred thousand. You
- 25:37Speaker 1: were like, oh, yeah, let's talk about you talking about
- 25:40Speaker 1: that that moment. Yes, at that moment I did a
- 25:43Speaker 1: whole video. When I had the million dollars, a million dollars,
- 25:46Speaker 1: a million follows mark, I thought, oh my god, this
- 25:49Speaker 1: is uh I made it and nobody can ship I
- 25:54Speaker 1: have made it. I have millions, and I was on
- 25:57Speaker 1: my high horse for a long time. These TikTok coming
- 26:01Speaker 1: out thirty million dollars. I don't know who they are.
- 26:05Speaker 1: But do you think TikTok is gonna last as long
- 26:08Speaker 1: as Instagram has lasted? Because I feel like Instagram has
- 26:11Speaker 1: last longer than all of them. Tig Talk. I think
- 26:14Speaker 1: tik Talks on the right path right now because they
- 26:16Speaker 1: I think, what if you go back and replay the
- 26:20Speaker 1: tape from day storm, Uh, It's just basically they didn't
- 26:24Speaker 1: listen to the audience TikTok do, And so I think
- 26:27Speaker 1: TikTok aslone as you just listen to the audience and
- 26:30Speaker 1: you are able to let unknown be known in a
- 26:35Speaker 1: sense where like TikTok don't have like a weird as
- 26:39Speaker 1: all the rhythm. Like Instagram, you could literally go on
- 26:42Speaker 1: your for your page and you will see people who
- 26:45Speaker 1: have like and pay followers on your four your page
- 26:49Speaker 1: and then be go viral because and it's just so
- 26:51Speaker 1: they're so talented and for the four your page is
- 26:54Speaker 1: kind of like that's how it work. You can you
- 26:56Speaker 1: can see a no name artist and you see like
- 26:59Speaker 1: one you probably have two thousand years and the next
- 27:01Speaker 1: one has ten millions, and you go down. You just
- 27:04Speaker 1: check your stuff out, like that's so talented and you
- 27:07Speaker 1: just followed just so much rawness on TikTok where I
- 27:11Speaker 1: wish and that's how fine was very raw. But after
- 27:15Speaker 1: what it's kind of like stop they want to add
- 27:19Speaker 1: his all the rhythm kind of nonsense like Instagram and
- 27:21Speaker 1: now people don't see your post and it's like, that's
- 27:24Speaker 1: why a lot of the people that I know love
- 27:27Speaker 1: TikTok because it's a lot easier to grow and it's parting. Yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 1: people don't like to see so many people don't like
- 27:34Speaker 1: seeing high college video. They're like seeing handheld phone camera
- 27:39Speaker 1: that it is braw, looked like a android, is like
- 27:42Speaker 1: not the best quality, but they love it because they
- 27:45Speaker 1: feel like they care with That's what Janina was saying.
- 27:48Speaker 1: She was saying that whenever she spent a lot of
- 27:50Speaker 1: money on a full production for her post, she didn't
- 27:53Speaker 1: get the same responses when she shot it on her iPhone.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Do you feel the same way with your productions because
- 27:59Speaker 1: your production has always looked a little elaborate to me. Yeah,
- 28:03Speaker 1: And I trying to do a mixture of both just
- 28:06Speaker 1: because I just go where my end goal is and
- 28:10Speaker 1: what who I need to be targetting, like the people
- 28:14Speaker 1: in my intes and I want to you know, not
- 28:17Speaker 1: have everything out phone because it's not the most exciting
- 28:21Speaker 1: thing to watch. I mean, it is exciting, but not
- 28:24Speaker 1: for the people who are who are in producers, directors.
- 28:27Speaker 1: You know, it's not gonna be a pelling They're gonna
- 28:29Speaker 1: look at you like, but if you can go in
- 28:31Speaker 1: a mix of like high quality videos here and there,
- 28:33Speaker 1: I think great, can'd be great to you? And they're
- 28:36Speaker 1: still throw into some of your phone videos to your audience,
- 28:39Speaker 1: but they can remember who you were and why they
- 28:42Speaker 1: follow you, so they like that, Yeah, what is your
- 28:46Speaker 1: end goal? Uh? I think my end goal of this
- 28:52Speaker 1: whole thing. That's a good question because I had different
- 28:56Speaker 1: tax feelings about this and I thought, like, I think
- 29:00Speaker 1: will be it, But sometimes it's feel like it's not.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Because it's been I'm still like people think I made.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I'm still I'm still working. I'm still trying to get
- 29:10Speaker 1: to that thing and do a thing. I don't even
- 29:12Speaker 1: know what it is. I don't know what is it
- 29:15Speaker 1: that or what is considered making it, you know, and
- 29:19Speaker 1: I think you just have to be happy with what
- 29:21Speaker 1: you're doing continuing and I have thought of what it
- 29:26Speaker 1: is like it is to be in a Marble film.
- 29:31Speaker 1: I feel like it would be so fun to watch.
- 29:33Speaker 1: I think I would love hope that I am. I
- 29:37Speaker 1: would love to know that I am. And I That's
- 29:39Speaker 1: why I do a lot of these types of videos
- 29:41Speaker 1: because I want to have my fans kind of like
- 29:44Speaker 1: see that I'm doing is already plank that in their head,
- 29:47Speaker 1: so they sell be bust out as like you know
- 29:49Speaker 1: some character like you do you ever audition for those
- 29:52Speaker 1: roles or do you just I've actually auditioned for one
- 29:55Speaker 1: and it was The Boys Don't Have you ever seen
- 29:58Speaker 1: that show on Amazon? It's called The Boys Night? Uh
- 30:04Speaker 1: for the road called Age, who's kind of like the
- 30:07Speaker 1: other last? But I because do you have an agent
- 30:12Speaker 1: or manager that helps you get those things or I
- 30:16Speaker 1: do um, I don't know, I don't. I don't know
- 30:23Speaker 1: if they're like I don't know if they're well connected
- 30:27Speaker 1: like that or have access to these called like these
- 30:30Speaker 1: types of casting calls, but most of them are usually
- 30:34Speaker 1: like straight to offer time because it's like big roads,
- 30:38Speaker 1: really established roles, established movies are they're gonna go to
- 30:42Speaker 1: like producing cast. They're going to go for the people
- 30:45Speaker 1: that they want to. Yeah. Yeah, of course of course,
- 30:47Speaker 1: but you wouldn't play like not the main but like
- 30:53Speaker 1: the other okay main nothing main or that's it. So
- 30:59Speaker 1: have you thought about right in your own Yes, and
- 31:01Speaker 1: I have. I've done a few and I actually just
- 31:03Speaker 1: stop one recently. Ain't gonna shoot another one. Um, I
- 31:08Speaker 1: think sometime next week. I think we're shooting another idea
- 31:11Speaker 1: concept of superhero kind of thing and hopefully just to
- 31:16Speaker 1: kind of like open the eyes or I don't let
- 31:18Speaker 1: people see that I am capable of doing any things. Um,
- 31:21Speaker 1: but I do shoot my own think because I just
- 31:25Speaker 1: probably how do you finance all of it? I don't
- 31:30Speaker 1: favors impressive like people think I'm ch Yeah. I think
- 31:36Speaker 1: I was hoping hoping you were. So when was the
- 31:39Speaker 1: last thing you eate? This? Probably like two days ago?
- 31:43Speaker 1: So real. I respect that. Okay, I love that and
- 31:49Speaker 1: you really so I could have actually had you you
- 31:53Speaker 1: You asked me too. You were like, Holey, do you
- 31:55Speaker 1: want me to bring it? And I was like, no,
- 31:57Speaker 1: that's good. Yeah, but women's lasting me even as okay
- 32:01Speaker 1: right there, that's a luxury, right yeah, yeah, that's a
- 32:05Speaker 1: luxury right there. But I actually, uh, I haven't. I'll
- 32:09Speaker 1: be honest, I haven't really eating these in a while,
- 32:12Speaker 1: just because yeah, yeah, there's a lot of things in
- 32:16Speaker 1: here for you. Yeah, and I don't even know if
- 32:19Speaker 1: it's like real meat, what it is. I looked at
- 32:21Speaker 1: the back of the label said it was like chicken
- 32:23Speaker 1: kind of stuff. Yeah, it's a bunch of random stuff.
- 32:29Speaker 1: I can't imagine who it was so good. I love
- 32:33Speaker 1: that you kept the real ones, you know. I don't know.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I think people see influencers and they say, Okay, well
- 32:41Speaker 1: that's the goal, that's the ang goal, But then when
- 32:43Speaker 1: I meet influencers, it's not that and goal. But I've
- 32:46Speaker 1: had enough episodes on this show to notice that every
- 32:50Speaker 1: successful person that I've interviewed, the goal has always moved.
- 32:55Speaker 1: So they hit the goal, and then they moved the
- 32:56Speaker 1: goal again. They hit the goal and moved like the
- 32:59Speaker 1: ceiling never they never reach the se is an endless cycle,
- 33:05Speaker 1: Like it's really nic It's like just running something that
- 33:09Speaker 1: once you reach it, you get that little bit of
- 33:11Speaker 1: high and it's like what's next. And sometimes I think
- 33:17Speaker 1: that's why a lot of my friends kind of backed out.
- 33:19Speaker 1: There's a lot of people got depressed. A lot of
- 33:22Speaker 1: people stop doing social media because they reach a number
- 33:26Speaker 1: thinking like this is gonna step them apart to make
- 33:29Speaker 1: their life change. And once you hit that man dollar,
- 33:31Speaker 1: I mean the million followers. Look, I keep saying man
- 33:35Speaker 1: because I never yea, I have like maybe stick being followed,
- 33:43Speaker 1: but it's everyone reached a certain level and what's next?
- 33:51Speaker 1: If that was their angle, that's when they hit that,
- 33:53Speaker 1: like what's next? So and then people when when you
- 33:56Speaker 1: have a goal that reach so wrong and you get
- 33:58Speaker 1: there and you see like nothing really changes or is
- 34:03Speaker 1: just not what you thought it would be, then people
- 34:05Speaker 1: start like, whoa if my whole life where I was
- 34:08Speaker 1: trying to pursue I just reached it and it's not
- 34:11Speaker 1: I don't feel nothing, or is it that oh I
- 34:13Speaker 1: do feel something, but it's not really what I thought
- 34:15Speaker 1: it would be? What's next? And people get nervous, they
- 34:18Speaker 1: get scared. They try to they try to like always
- 34:22Speaker 1: create viral videos or create something to make them have
- 34:26Speaker 1: that sort of feeling again, and they just get depressed.
- 34:29Speaker 1: A lot of stop. I remember guys a wall and
- 34:31Speaker 1: its point out of my friend. He was so creative,
- 34:34Speaker 1: and then I started doing telling nice, Oh wow, what
- 34:40Speaker 1: are you doing? You? How do you know that's not
- 34:42Speaker 1: to survive? Like, would you ever, like worst case scenario
- 34:44Speaker 1: if like you weren't making I don't know how much
- 34:47Speaker 1: money you make to survive, to make to live now,
- 34:51Speaker 1: but would you ever go back to a Roosevelt type job?
- 34:55Speaker 1: Would you ever go just to pay your bills? And
- 34:59Speaker 1: that's that's the biggest sperience I have. Um just because
- 35:05Speaker 1: society makes it for people. You does you have an image?
- 35:10Speaker 1: It's like what do you how do you see Kevin
- 35:11Speaker 1: Hart working that route or working at huber Uber you delivered?
- 35:19Speaker 1: That's not gonna It's like hap, yeah, but but it
- 35:22Speaker 1: sucks because there's celebrity. I remember the story of Pink.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I don't know if you heard, but Pink was signed
- 35:28Speaker 1: and she had a record deal and then she went
- 35:30Speaker 1: and started pumping gas and then the label pulled her
- 35:33Speaker 1: off and it was like, we'll give you money, like
- 35:35Speaker 1: stop pumping gas. Yeah that was Pink story. Yeah, because
- 35:38Speaker 1: she was like, fuck it, I'll just pump gas. Remember
- 35:41Speaker 1: the story about that. I forgot his name, but the
- 35:42Speaker 1: guy from Bill Cosby Show, Yeah, that's I was gonna say.
- 35:45Speaker 1: He was He was selling cars up the street. Was
- 35:48Speaker 1: not the Cosby Show. The he was a short it
- 35:52Speaker 1: is to feel Cosby guy and he uh, he was
- 35:55Speaker 1: working at the Target. I believe they caught a video
- 36:00Speaker 1: working at the Target. And I was kind of shocked
- 36:04Speaker 1: that even happened because he was one of my childhood
- 36:06Speaker 1: actors that I started watching the Coffee Show and that
- 36:09Speaker 1: he used on Target selling people bagging up groceries and
- 36:14Speaker 1: people allowing him so badly. And that's just like the
- 36:18Speaker 1: most like and you main thing, like it's just kind
- 36:22Speaker 1: of like we're we're we're doing that. We love. I'm
- 36:26Speaker 1: sorry that it makes it seem like in our business
- 36:30Speaker 1: is fame and it's all glamorous kind of thing. I
- 36:33Speaker 1: don't act for all that. I just know what it
- 36:34Speaker 1: comes with it. But it's not always like nice and
- 36:39Speaker 1: college and it's not always like that. So there's gonna
- 36:43Speaker 1: be some rough times. So in order to defeat your family,
- 36:46Speaker 1: you gotta do something. And that's one of my biggest
- 36:50Speaker 1: period is like that's why I have no kids. That's
- 36:52Speaker 1: why I'm very careful when I having kids, um being
- 36:56Speaker 1: very careful with my life, which I know that I'm
- 36:59Speaker 1: not doing certain things and I want to make before
- 37:05Speaker 1: right now, I'm trying to build generational wealth so that
- 37:09Speaker 1: not only my stuff my kids is always fine and good.
- 37:12Speaker 1: But it's one of those things where people you want this,
- 37:16Speaker 1: that you're working at anything less than what you Yes,
- 37:21Speaker 1: I think whenever you're in front of the camera and
- 37:24Speaker 1: you know, we're all human, and I like, you know,
- 37:27Speaker 1: a lot of the successful to believe people on this
- 37:29Speaker 1: show believe or not have even when they made money,
- 37:32Speaker 1: lost it, or still have money problems. And I think
- 37:35Speaker 1: it's great that people talk about these things because you know,
- 37:38Speaker 1: viewers or fans or people that you're trying to get
- 37:41Speaker 1: into entertainment, are trying to be an influencer, trying to
- 37:43Speaker 1: be entrepreneur. They think, oh, once you have this business,
- 37:45Speaker 1: once you have this restaurant, or once you be your
- 37:47Speaker 1: influencer or actor on TV, you've made it. You don't
- 37:52Speaker 1: have any money problems. But the entertainment business is a
- 37:55Speaker 1: tricky thing because you are an entrepreneur and you're not
- 37:58Speaker 1: getting two weeks salary and one minute you're up, and
- 38:01Speaker 1: then you're competing against whoever else. So it's a risky game.
- 38:05Speaker 1: And then to be shaved, to be shameless like it
- 38:08Speaker 1: just makes it all the worst and kind of gives people, um.
- 38:13Speaker 1: It makes people like those who are in this business,
- 38:18Speaker 1: ah try to find a bird, but they I don't
- 38:24Speaker 1: want to fall in that traffic being shamed. Someone wants
- 38:27Speaker 1: that image on them because it's not social media and
- 38:32Speaker 1: harsh world. People would like they always say negative to
- 38:36Speaker 1: travel fast possible, So it's like anything and the people
- 38:40Speaker 1: will love seen your downfall. That's why the shave them
- 38:42Speaker 1: is probably the most that that that page. And I
- 38:47Speaker 1: hate my videos going to show. I hate it videos
- 38:50Speaker 1: going on there a few times and I don't like
- 38:53Speaker 1: it just because it it's just a negative platform. And
- 38:59Speaker 1: I know every time my videos have gone on that
- 39:01Speaker 1: plat on that rep on it in this Instagram, it's
- 39:04Speaker 1: always because I had a funny video. But you can
- 39:06Speaker 1: still read the comments. And I think that's one thing
- 39:09Speaker 1: I've learned that shut out. I shut out for a
- 39:11Speaker 1: long time and I don't do anymore, but I kind
- 39:14Speaker 1: of did recently. I had this one shower video like
- 39:18Speaker 1: when black people here noise take the shower and had
- 39:21Speaker 1: like top ball over me sound and I kind of
- 39:23Speaker 1: looked the whole time and they went viral and the
- 39:29Speaker 1: shame went posted and there was a lot of great comments,
- 39:32Speaker 1: but there was of course out of throw. It's always
- 39:34Speaker 1: like it never no matter what you do, you can
- 39:36Speaker 1: never please. That's what happened. I've bought myself to learn
- 39:41Speaker 1: and honestly, the way I dealt with these types of people,
- 39:46Speaker 1: I've realized they're the most hurt individual and I've learned
- 39:50Speaker 1: that laid it down the line because I used to
- 39:53Speaker 1: like go back and try to fight back like cornball,
- 39:57Speaker 1: will your guarding with this person? Like I stopped doing that.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I remember one time I argument somewhere and they were like, oh,
- 40:02Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. I just want to get your attention.
- 40:06Speaker 1: That was the time I knew never do that again.
- 40:10Speaker 1: And to this thing. When people come and troll on
- 40:13Speaker 1: my uh my live stream on twitch or my Instagram,
- 40:17Speaker 1: I always apply back. I said, hey, how are you doing,
- 40:21Speaker 1: What's what's going on with you? Or I try to
- 40:24Speaker 1: start up a conversation. They would say all types of
- 40:26Speaker 1: mean stuff, you know, racial slurs and all that, and
- 40:30Speaker 1: I just go back and say something positive or try
- 40:33Speaker 1: to keep it positive. Even with my FAMI, like my moderator.
- 40:37Speaker 1: We have moderators which they will try banned first, I said,
- 40:40Speaker 1: oh don't, they'll continue talking after. I never felt like, yeo,
- 40:45Speaker 1: I'm just one of your biggest fans. Why you could
- 40:50Speaker 1: have just started with that. You gotta have started with that.
- 40:53Speaker 1: You don't need to be always bad at me like that.
- 40:55Speaker 1: But that's the world we live in. Yeah, it is definitely.
- 40:58Speaker 1: But they thank you so much for feeding me some
- 41:01Speaker 1: extremely spicy food. I would love to finish it, but
- 41:06Speaker 1: I can't taste. I can't even feel my mouth anymore. Um. Anyways,
