- 0:25Speaker 1: Welcome to opposition territory here at the Philadelphia Sports Table
- 0:27Speaker 1: podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast show
- 0:30Speaker 1: in the world, twelve years strong. Got a great opposition
- 0:33Speaker 1: territory show coming your way. It is our Eagles Buccaneers
- 0:37Speaker 1: preview podcast. This is going to be a fantastic matchup
- 0:41Speaker 1: coming to us from eight toes Sports. Catch everything they're
- 0:44Speaker 1: doing at eightes sports dot com. Our good friend Evan Winter, Buddy,
- 0:48Speaker 1: how are you, my friend?
- 0:49Speaker 2: I'm doing great Week fours here we're chucking right along
- 0:53Speaker 2: and yeah, couldn't be better. So life is good.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I tell you, these two teams playing some well, I
- 0:58Speaker 1: don't want to say lights out football. I mean, the
- 1:00Speaker 1: US are playing some pretty good football. The Eagles have
- 1:02Speaker 1: gotten I hate to use the word luck, but certain
- 1:05Speaker 1: things have certainly fallen their way, whether it's a it's
- 1:08Speaker 1: a blocked field goal from this past week you mentioned
- 1:12Speaker 1: right before we hit the record button, you know, our
- 1:14Speaker 1: defensive lineman seemed to be a little bit faster than
- 1:16Speaker 1: a couple of our tight ends. You know, just happened
- 1:18Speaker 1: to be that guy that picked up the ball went
- 1:20Speaker 1: right into the end zone. But man, what an amazing
- 1:24Speaker 1: season so far.
- 1:24Speaker 2: For these two teams, Yeah, three and zero, and they've both,
- 1:28Speaker 2: as you just said, have had their fair share of
- 1:31Speaker 2: highlights along the way. I mean, all three of Tampa
- 1:34Speaker 2: Bay's wins have literally come within the last minute of
- 1:36Speaker 2: the game. Yeah, you know, I don't know what the
- 1:39Speaker 2: record is after last week, but going into week two,
- 1:43Speaker 2: there's only been one other team to do what they've
- 1:45Speaker 2: done in terms of coming back and winning in the
- 1:47Speaker 2: final minute since the NFL merger. So yeah, just crazy stuff.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And hopefully Tampa Bay can get a little healthier. We'll
- 1:54Speaker 2: talk about that here in a little bit, but hopefully
- 1:55Speaker 2: they can get just a little bit healthier to make this,
- 1:57Speaker 2: you know, even more exciting game. But I know a
- 1:59Speaker 2: lot of Eagles fans are thinking about last year and
- 2:02Speaker 2: sitting there saying, hey, we didn't have aj, we didn't
- 2:04Speaker 2: have Davante, we didn't have Lane Johnson. So if y'all
- 2:07Speaker 2: are missing some key pieces, you're gonna have to deal
- 2:09Speaker 2: with it two and we'll just see what happens.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Absolutely, look, you mentioned right off the bat, I mean
- 2:13Speaker 1: this is gonna be a matchup of undefeated teams. Heading
- 2:15Speaker 1: into Week four here, the Eagles have dropped three of
- 2:19Speaker 1: their last four games at Raymond James Stadium down there
- 2:23Speaker 1: in Tampa Bay. So I want to get into this
- 2:25Speaker 1: Buccaneer season first here, Evan, in terms of like what
- 2:28Speaker 1: we've really seen from them after three weeks. So it's
- 2:31Speaker 1: a two part question to start us off. First, what
- 2:34Speaker 1: has been the biggest strengths strength of this Bucks team
- 2:37Speaker 1: after three weeks of play? And then we'll get into,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you know, the what the weakness is as well, But
- 2:42Speaker 1: start us off with the biggest strength so far.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yeah, So I'm gonna give you two things here real quick.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I'm gonna split the answer in half, and number one
- 2:49Speaker 2: is the resiliency. I'm gonna take a little bit of
- 2:51Speaker 2: an abstract here, okay, And yeah, their resiliency, I mean
- 2:54Speaker 2: it's just off the charts right now. Again, just talked
- 2:56Speaker 2: about the comeback wins, but they've been doing this with
- 2:59Speaker 2: I mean, my goodness, including Tristan Wurf's last week. They
- 3:03Speaker 2: were missing four starting offensive linemen going into that Jets game.
- 3:08Speaker 2: The two guards that they started last week, Elijah Klein,
- 3:10Speaker 2: had only nine offensive snaps coming into that game. Luke
- 3:13Speaker 2: Haggard never played an offensive snap and his entire hadn't
- 3:16Speaker 2: even been on an active roster.
- 3:17Speaker 3: For a week.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yes, he is a practice squad guy. So and they
- 3:20Speaker 2: still they struggled in the beginning, but they kind of
- 3:23Speaker 2: adjusted as the game went on. It wasn't perfect by
- 3:25Speaker 2: any means, but they held up. And so just things
- 3:28Speaker 2: like that. Obviously, Baker Mayfield making just crazy clutch plays
- 3:31Speaker 2: when it matters most, when the team needs the most,
- 3:33Speaker 2: and Mecha at Buka just completely lifting the standard that
- 3:37Speaker 2: surrounds rookies. I mean, Todd Bowles said yesterday, they don't
- 3:40Speaker 2: even look at him like a rookie, and it's easy
- 3:42Speaker 2: to see why. So the resiliency of this team right
- 3:45Speaker 2: now is just off the charts. They still haven't developed
- 3:48Speaker 2: this killer instinct that Todd Bowles has talked about all
- 3:50Speaker 2: off season, and we saw that against the Jets. I mean,
- 3:52Speaker 2: we've seen it pretty much in each of these three games.
- 3:55Speaker 2: And we'll talk about that a little bit more. But
- 3:57Speaker 2: resiliency in terms of the off the field stuff, the
- 4:00Speaker 2: abstract stuff, but then when it comes to just you
- 4:02Speaker 2: know what's on the field. Excuse me, it's going to
- 4:04Speaker 2: be the secondary. This secondary right now is playing lights out.
- 4:08Speaker 2: They are, Yeah, and Jamel Dean is so far on
- 4:11Speaker 2: pace to have the best year of his career, especially
- 4:13Speaker 2: when he needs it most. Zion McCollum is playing really,
- 4:16Speaker 2: really well. Antoine Winfield looks like his old self. But
- 4:19Speaker 2: the biggest thing that's really helped boost the secondary coming
- 4:21Speaker 2: into this year was moving Tyke Smith, last year's rookie
- 4:24Speaker 2: who played nickel for them a lot. They moved him
- 4:27Speaker 2: to strong safety, but they also put him at a
- 4:29Speaker 2: single high, They'll put him in coverage all this other stuff.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So that's really allowed Todd Bowles to mix and match
- 4:36Speaker 2: certain matchups play a lot more physical. That's one thing
- 4:39Speaker 2: in drafting rook Jacob Parrish, who's been making a lot
- 4:42Speaker 2: of a big impact. I'll talk about him here in
- 4:44Speaker 2: a little bit, But Todd Bowles has really made the
- 4:48Speaker 2: right moves over the offseason to put the secondary in
- 4:51Speaker 2: the spot where they can press you, they can play
- 4:55Speaker 2: zone whenever need be, and they can also do match
- 4:57Speaker 2: coverages and things like that, and it's really worked out.
- 4:59Speaker 1: So for secondary, we're gonna get into a little bit
- 5:02Speaker 1: more of when we talk about the wide receivers of
- 5:04Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles going up against that secondary. Gonna get
- 5:08Speaker 1: to that in a bit. What do you find to
- 5:09Speaker 1: be the weakness of this of this Bucks team. You know,
- 5:13Speaker 1: if there is one here after three weeks of play.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's easy to point and say the offensive line, right,
- 5:18Speaker 2: But like I said, all the injuries, it's just insane
- 5:20Speaker 2: what that group is going through. Honestly, there's a weakness
- 5:24Speaker 2: right now, and it's just because it's not being utilized.
- 5:27Speaker 2: This is kind of unfair, but I have to say this.
- 5:30Speaker 2: It's the tight ends.
- 5:31Speaker 3: I was gonna say, yeah, yeah.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Yeah, the tight ends have just completely disappeared from this offense.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Hasn't been doing much of anything.
- 5:38Speaker 2: No, And I've looked. I looked up, you know, his
- 5:40Speaker 2: usage coming into you know this morning, once PFF got
- 5:43Speaker 2: all their stuff up. Sure, he's he's running the lowest
- 5:47Speaker 2: amount of routes of his career. He's like an eighty
- 5:49Speaker 2: three point four percent. But he's only hovered around eighty
- 5:52Speaker 2: five percent most of his career, so it's not that
- 5:54Speaker 2: big of a drop off. He's not sticking in pat
- 5:57Speaker 2: they're not having the and I figured, okay, hey, with
- 5:59Speaker 2: all the offense of line injuries, maybe they're keeping him
- 6:02Speaker 2: in more for pass protection. Maybe they're keeping them more
- 6:04Speaker 2: to help in the running game. No, that's not the case.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Both of those percentages, those rates are lower than they
- 6:10Speaker 2: were last year. So I really don't know what's going
- 6:14Speaker 2: on with the tight ends. That's something I was going
- 6:16Speaker 2: to dig into over the course next week. If it
- 6:19Speaker 2: comes to fruition again this week, who knows. Maybe they've
- 6:22Speaker 2: just been saving the tight ends for the Eagles this
- 6:24Speaker 2: week and they're gonna they're just gonna let them loose.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Who knows. Yeah, I mean, just right now. Kate Odden
- 6:31Speaker 2: has done well blocking and he has done okay when
- 6:34Speaker 2: he has been targeted. But yeah, the tight end disappearance
- 6:37Speaker 2: has just been pretty crazy to see, especially considering how
- 6:40Speaker 2: effective Kate Adden was last year.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Absolutely well, look, I'm going to get into the quarterback
- 6:44Speaker 1: position for both teams here the type of quarterback that
- 6:48Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield really has become, and also from what we
- 6:51Speaker 1: have seen from Jalen Hurts as well. At this point,
- 6:55Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield hasn't thrown an interception this season. He's only
- 6:58Speaker 1: one of three quarterbacks with at least five passing touchdowns
- 7:03Speaker 1: not to have an interception. He's actually thrown six touchdowns
- 7:06Speaker 1: this year. We have two very different quarterbacks going up
- 7:10Speaker 1: against each other this week here in Week four, and
- 7:13Speaker 1: it's fascinating to me, and it's gonna be fascinating to
- 7:16Speaker 1: watch how both of these quarterbacks perform. So, first up,
- 7:19Speaker 1: what kind of quarterback has Baker Mayfield become here in
- 7:23Speaker 1: twenty twenty five?
- 7:24Speaker 3: From what you have seen, Evan.
- 7:26Speaker 2: He's become a turnover free quarterback. I mean, that's kind
- 7:29Speaker 2: of obvious when you look at the stat sheets, but
- 7:32Speaker 2: that was the emphasis. That's when going into the season.
- 7:36Speaker 2: You know, all throughout the offseason, everybody was asking what
- 7:39Speaker 2: Baker could do better, you know, and him and Todd
- 7:41Speaker 2: Bowles both had the same answer. Less turnovers so far,
- 7:45Speaker 2: a goose egg throughout three games. Now, yeah, he Rashad
- 7:48Speaker 2: White bailed him out in week two. He easily could
- 7:51Speaker 2: have lost a fumble, and he got the ball knocked
- 7:53Speaker 2: out of his hand last week as well. Both were recovered,
- 7:56Speaker 2: but the shod White won. I'm sure Baker bought am
- 7:58Speaker 2: mistake after that play. But either way, regardless's he turnover
- 8:03Speaker 2: free and honestly, that's what the Bugs have needed. That's
- 8:06Speaker 2: been huge because if you think about it, these have
- 8:08Speaker 2: all been one possession games for them every single week
- 8:11Speaker 2: and losing out on one of those possessions, giving the
- 8:14Speaker 2: other team an extra possession could have been the difference
- 8:17Speaker 2: between a win and a loss. So yeah, I know,
- 8:19Speaker 2: when you're looking at statute, we don't ever want to
- 8:20Speaker 2: go box score reporting and all that other stuff. But
- 8:22Speaker 2: you know, considering the emphasis and the off season context
- 8:25Speaker 2: coming into this, and considering he tied for the NFL
- 8:29Speaker 2: lead interceptions last year, he's become a turnover free quarterback
- 8:32Speaker 2: through the first three weeks.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts, as we know, Super Bowl MVP certainly hasn't
- 8:37Speaker 1: been a perfect season. I mean, you look at Week two.
- 8:40Speaker 1: We only threw for one hundred and one yards and
- 8:43Speaker 1: it's been up and down. The passing game certainly has
- 8:46Speaker 1: been but Jalen Hurts is Jalen Hurts in a lot
- 8:48Speaker 1: of different ways, especially using his legs.
- 8:50Speaker 3: We're gonna get into the.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Tousch push folks in a bit, But how do you
- 8:55Speaker 1: view Jalen Hurts as a quarterback here in twenty twenty
- 8:58Speaker 1: five thus far as we're looking at this game here, Evan.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Yeah, well, obviously QB wins are a very overrated stat right,
- 9:07Speaker 2: but he's a winner, man. I mean, and when you
- 9:09Speaker 2: look at forty nine and twenty over your first sixty
- 9:12Speaker 2: nine games, seventy one percent. That's more than just QB wins.
- 9:15Speaker 2: That means you're playing well and you're doing the right
- 9:18Speaker 2: things to win games. Tom Brady his first sixty nine
- 9:21Speaker 2: games fifty two and seventeen. So Jalen Hurts is three
- 9:25Speaker 2: and Tom Brady his first few years wasn't really known
- 9:28Speaker 2: as the dude who eventually broke the NFL record for
- 9:31Speaker 2: passing touchdowns in a single season, eventually right who threw what? Right?
- 9:36Speaker 2: Who threw thirty four touchdowns to two interceptions one year?
- 9:39Speaker 2: Whatever that crazy year was that he had. So, I mean,
- 9:43Speaker 2: he's a winner first and foremost, and that teammates feed
- 9:46Speaker 2: off of that, and that allows him to become the
- 9:49Speaker 2: alpha leader that you need at quarterback and guys are
- 9:52Speaker 2: going to follow his example whenever they win games with him.
- 9:55Speaker 2: It's that simple, and that's it. That's the biggest thing
- 9:58Speaker 2: about him. But then in terms of the tangibles, he's
- 10:02Speaker 2: smart quarterback, he's efficient. I mean you just look at
- 10:05Speaker 2: when he sees stuff, he goes for it. For instance,
- 10:09Speaker 2: the touchdown to AJ Brown last week, he immediately recognized
- 10:13Speaker 2: He immediately recognized that AJ had inside leverage and with
- 10:16Speaker 2: pressure in his face, he saw the guys coming off
- 10:18Speaker 2: the right side, knew that area was open, and he
- 10:21Speaker 2: just I mean before Aj even knew the ball was
- 10:24Speaker 2: coming to AJ was still in his route. Jalen's back
- 10:27Speaker 2: there letting go of the ball, threw it right on
- 10:30Speaker 2: the perfect spot where the cornerback couldn't get it. So
- 10:32Speaker 2: he's a smart quarterback. He's an efficient quarterback, and he's
- 10:35Speaker 2: a winner man. So I mean, people can yap about
- 10:38Speaker 2: his box scour stats like we're just talking to box sport,
- 10:41Speaker 2: But Beagles are also such a well built team. They
- 10:44Speaker 2: don't need him throwing for three hundred and fifty yards
- 10:46Speaker 2: every game. They just don't need that. But could he
- 10:49Speaker 2: go out there and do it? Hell yeah. So I
- 10:50Speaker 2: mean it's just a combination of things with him. But
- 10:53Speaker 2: ultimately he's a very good quarterback and he wins games.
- 10:56Speaker 1: The matchup between these two quarterbacks is going to be phenomenal,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I think here in week four, but I want to
- 11:01Speaker 1: get into some other matchups with you here.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Evan.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Eagles wide receivers finally had the ball being thrown to
- 11:06Speaker 1: them down the field in Week three in the second
- 11:09Speaker 1: half and we know what kind of weapons you know,
- 11:12Speaker 1: AJ Brown, Davonte Smith, even Dallas Goddard are in terms
- 11:15Speaker 1: of their past catching ability, their yards after the catch.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Maybe not so much Dallas Goddor, but certainly AJ Brown
- 11:22Speaker 1: and Davonte Smith. The Bucks, as you were just talking about,
- 11:26Speaker 1: how such a prolific secondary with a bunch of talent
- 11:28Speaker 1: who've been playing lights out like you mentioned, how do
- 11:31Speaker 1: you see this matchup between the Eagles wide receivers and
- 11:34Speaker 1: this Buck secondary going this week?
- 11:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be great. You know, the Bucks have
- 11:39Speaker 2: the physical guys and fast guys and Jamel Dean Zigon
- 11:42Speaker 2: the column to match up with aj on the outside.
- 11:44Speaker 2: What I'm going to be watching for, though, is so
- 11:47Speaker 2: not sure if christianizing or Izian rather sorry I don't
- 11:52Speaker 2: It's unclear if he's gonna play right now or not.
- 11:54Speaker 2: He plays a lot of if you had to put it,
- 11:56Speaker 2: like sixty forty whatever, probably like seventy thirty in terms
- 11:59Speaker 2: of Nicolson, as with Christian is Ian and the rookie
- 12:02Speaker 2: Jacob Parrish that I mentioned a little bit earlier. So
- 12:06Speaker 2: if I had a guess, though, he's probably not gonna play.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I Isian and now granted, will find out more tomorrow,
- 12:11Speaker 2: but regardless, so Jacob Parrish either way, when he is
- 12:14Speaker 2: in there him matched up on Davonta Smith, because DeVonta
- 12:17Speaker 2: Smith has easily been the Eagles main guy out of
- 12:19Speaker 2: the slot so far. I mean ninety two percent of
- 12:21Speaker 2: his targets fourteen of his nineteen targets on the year
- 12:24Speaker 2: coming out of the slot. It's on PFF, so that
- 12:27Speaker 2: vastly outpaces everybody else. I mean, John Minch's two to two,
- 12:30Speaker 2: but it's only two raps, yeah, exactly, So predominantly it's
- 12:36Speaker 2: gonna be DeVonta in the in the slot. I want
- 12:38Speaker 2: to see what Jacob Parrish can do. Jacob Parrish can fly,
- 12:41Speaker 2: He's athletic as hell, he's a great tackler, he is
- 12:45Speaker 2: physical as hell. And just how the Bucks have utilized him.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Just put it this way, this is a funny stat
- 12:50Speaker 2: of found yesterday. Jacob Parrish right now has more sacks
- 12:52Speaker 2: than the dual Carter through three weeks. Just how the Bucks.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Just how It's only three weeks, I know, but still
- 12:59Speaker 2: funny at corner a rookie corner, Yeah, out pacing Abdul.
- 13:02Speaker 2: But anyways, how the Bucks utilize him is just it's
- 13:06Speaker 2: so cool. He's pretty much Ronde Barber. If Ronde Barbara
- 13:09Speaker 2: could run a four to three right now, that's how
- 13:11Speaker 2: that's how they're that's how they're using him. So Jacob
- 13:13Speaker 2: Parris versus DeVante, whenever they're on a slot, that's the
- 13:16Speaker 2: match up. I'm gonna be key and then on because
- 13:19Speaker 2: whoever wins that battle, I promise it's gonna go a
- 13:21Speaker 2: long way in determining who who wins this game.
- 13:23Speaker 1: All right, very good, before we go to break again,
- 13:25Speaker 1: Evan winner from A to Z sports eight is sports

- 14:10Speaker 1: we're gonna take a quick break when we get back.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Got more of our pregame preview show coming your way.
- 14:17Speaker 1: All right, we are back with our good friend Evan
- 14:19Speaker 1: Winner from a to Z sports ades sports dot Com,
- 14:22Speaker 1: fantastic website, great sports content. And as we're moving along
- 14:26Speaker 1: with this pregame preview show, here Bucky Irving. This past
- 14:29Speaker 1: week he actually touched the ball twenty nine times. I
- 14:32Speaker 1: saw that stat. I was absolutely floored by it. He's
- 14:36Speaker 1: averaging twenty three point three yards per per touch here
- 14:41Speaker 1: after three weeks. I mean, he caught all fourteen targets
- 14:45Speaker 1: that have come his way this season, and he may
- 14:48Speaker 1: even catch more balls this week. As we know, Mike
- 14:50Speaker 1: Evans is gonna be sidelined for the next few weeks. Here,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I do wonder, Evan, how much of his durability is
- 14:57Speaker 1: gonna hold up from a long term perspective. Do I
- 14:59Speaker 1: think he's going to be okay this week? Yes, but
- 15:02Speaker 1: you know I could it mean something?
- 15:04Speaker 3: Could it?
- 15:05Speaker 1: Could the durability situation mean something for this Week four
- 15:08Speaker 1: matchup against the Eagles. That's something I'm wondering. So what
- 15:11Speaker 1: should US Eagles fans be looking for in terms of
- 15:14Speaker 1: I think any under the radar offensive play this week?
- 15:17Speaker 1: If the Bucks decide to make some offensive adjustments to
- 15:20Speaker 1: the scheming, if they do so at all based on
- 15:23Speaker 1: Mike Evans not being there and just you know, just
- 15:26Speaker 1: some of the injury issues and situations that have come up,
- 15:29Speaker 1: what are your thoughts.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yes, so they might get Chris Godwin back this week.
- 15:33Speaker 2: So now, granted he'll be on a snap count, I
- 15:36Speaker 2: would be shocked if he goes out there at full
- 15:38Speaker 2: go right, Yeah, but a Mecca Egbuka was on a
- 15:41Speaker 2: snapcount last year a week and he still let the
- 15:43Speaker 2: team in catches and yards and that was after Mike
- 15:45Speaker 2: Evans went out.
- 15:46Speaker 3: What a wide receiver he's been, yeah.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Man, just for real, absolutely phenomenal. But so in terms
- 15:52Speaker 2: of durability, he'll be fine. So yeah, last week. Now, now,
- 15:56Speaker 2: I will say this, over the first three weeks to
- 15:58Speaker 2: split in usage between and Rashad White has been interesting.
- 16:02Speaker 2: A lot of people thought Rashad White would have had
- 16:04Speaker 2: a little bit more play. Yeah, but the Bucks are
- 16:07Speaker 2: never worried about playing again Rashad White whenever they need to.
- 16:10Speaker 2: When a buckie he needs a breather, if he's looking
- 16:11Speaker 2: like he's hampered a little bit, whatever it might be,
- 16:15Speaker 2: they no hesitation putting Rashad White into the game. And
- 16:18Speaker 2: you can put him in at any moment of the
- 16:20Speaker 2: game because he's honestly, if he's not the NFL's best
- 16:24Speaker 2: pass protector at running back, he is definitely top five. Yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 2: so you put him in any situation, he's gonna be okay.
- 16:29Speaker 2: You know, you don't have to worry abou him missing a
- 16:31Speaker 2: blitz blah blah blah blah. So in terms of durtability,
- 16:33Speaker 2: he'll be fine. If they ever feel like they're ever
- 16:35Speaker 2: working again, those plug were shot in. And then they've
- 16:38Speaker 2: got Sean Tucker at running back three, who is pretty
- 16:41Speaker 2: damn good himself. Now he doesn't have the excuse me,
- 16:44Speaker 2: he doesn't have the resume, he doesn't have you know,
- 16:46Speaker 2: the consistency over time, but he's made play of plays,
- 16:49Speaker 2: so yeah, he'll be fine overall. In terms of adjustments,
- 16:53Speaker 2: it's gonna be interesting. It all depends. And I mentioned
- 16:56Speaker 2: Chris Godwin. Tristan Wurfs might come back this week too,
- 17:00Speaker 2: So if that happens, this Bucks offensive line that has
- 17:03Speaker 2: just been shuffled around like crazy over the first three weeks,
- 17:07Speaker 2: we'll all of a sudden start to go back to normal.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Graham Barton will most likely go back to center, Ben
- 17:12Speaker 2: Brettison will most likely shift back over to left guard guard,
- 17:15Speaker 2: and then you can just plug Elijah Klin in at
- 17:16Speaker 2: right guard and then you got Charlie Hecket right tackle
- 17:19Speaker 2: while Luke Gettekey is out. So that will allow some
- 17:22Speaker 2: normalcy at least on the left side of the line.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And in terms of adjustments, if that does happen, I'm
- 17:27Speaker 2: running off Tristan Wirfs every time. This Eagles run defense
- 17:30Speaker 2: is not great. It's I mean, you can run on
- 17:33Speaker 2: the Eagles, There's no doubt about that. The Chiefs didn't.
- 17:36Speaker 2: But as we're seeing, the Chiefs are, yeah, exactly. Their
- 17:40Speaker 2: rushing attack is a catastrophe right now. But the Cowboys
- 17:43Speaker 2: ran on them and then obviously you know the Rams
- 17:46Speaker 2: were able to run on them too, So the Bucks.
- 17:48Speaker 2: If Tristan Wurf's does come in, I am I'm rolling
- 17:52Speaker 2: out to the left, I'm running to the left and
- 17:54Speaker 2: all that stuff. So those would be some adjustments, and
- 17:57Speaker 2: then on top of that, I would expect to see
- 18:00Speaker 2: them sprinkle in Rashad White a lot more this week though, Okay,
- 18:03Speaker 2: because he has that in between the tackles power. Buckey's
- 18:06Speaker 2: pretty good in between the tackles, but he's more shifty
- 18:09Speaker 2: obviously that's his strength. I wouldn't be surprised though, if
- 18:11Speaker 2: we see a nice little uptick in some Rashad White
- 18:14Speaker 2: usage this week, a lot like they did in Houston
- 18:16Speaker 2: where they really got the power game going against a
- 18:18Speaker 2: really aggressive Houston front. Yeah, and that really helped open
- 18:23Speaker 2: the door to the victory.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Got to keep our eyes on Rashad White. Eagles Nation.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I think Evan's onto something there for sure. Just a
- 18:30Speaker 1: couple more topics, buddy before I let you go here,
- 18:33Speaker 1: And we got to get into the tush push because
- 18:35Speaker 1: it seems like that that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have
- 18:39Speaker 1: been that one team that has found some consistency in
- 18:42Speaker 1: stopping the tush push over the past couple seasons. It's amazing.
- 18:46Speaker 1: You know, it's like can it be stopped? It's like, yes,
- 18:49Speaker 1: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been able to do it
- 18:52Speaker 1: a number of times, especially down at Raymond James Stadium.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I loved what Todd Bowles said this past week about
- 18:59Speaker 1: the Tush push as well. I'm not sure what it is.
- 19:02Speaker 1: They've certainly had an agreed an ingredient to make some
- 19:05Speaker 1: key stops defending the Toush push over these years here. First,
- 19:10Speaker 1: do you think they're gonna be able to continue to
- 19:12Speaker 1: do so this week? And how do you think they
- 19:15Speaker 1: are going to continue to go about trying to stop
- 19:17Speaker 1: the Toush push here?
- 19:18Speaker 2: I mean, if they've got Vidave on the field, they've
- 19:21Speaker 2: always got a check. Yeah. Honestly, I think that's the
- 19:24Speaker 2: key ingredient. I mean, that dude is just unreal. Anybody
- 19:27Speaker 2: who's ever watched even a handful of his snaps and
- 19:29Speaker 2: you're not a Bucks fan, I mean, like I'm talking
- 19:31Speaker 2: about people in general, Like if someone has even just
- 19:34Speaker 2: watched a handful of his snaps, they will understand why
- 19:38Speaker 2: he is just so heralded and just why you know,
- 19:41Speaker 2: not only people in Tampa Bay, but people who follow
- 19:43Speaker 2: this war closely. Just love him. I mean, he's so
- 19:45Speaker 2: much fun to watch and he will absolutely wreck you
- 19:48Speaker 2: at any point in time. So I think Vidave has
- 19:51Speaker 2: a lot to do with it. And then they've just
- 19:52Speaker 2: got really aggressive linebackers who'd like to shoot the gaps.
- 19:55Speaker 2: And then they also have second. They have one thing
- 19:58Speaker 2: I forgot to mention about their secondary is the they
- 20:00Speaker 2: are more than willing to come up and hit you
- 20:02Speaker 2: and play in the run and stuff like that. So
- 20:04Speaker 2: I think it's a combination of vitavea and then just
- 20:06Speaker 2: a hard nose Todd Bowles defense. I know that's kind
- 20:09Speaker 2: of abstract, but when when it comes to stopping the tushbush,
- 20:12Speaker 2: there is no formula, So we all got to get
- 20:14Speaker 2: a little bit abstract.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely all right, buddy, Before I let you go,
- 20:18Speaker 1: as we do on all of our opposition territory shows
- 20:22Speaker 1: and pregame preview shows, talk about the one thing each
- 20:25Speaker 1: team is going to need to hit on for a
- 20:27Speaker 1: win this week. So start us off with the one
- 20:29Speaker 1: thing the Bucks are going to need to hit on
- 20:31Speaker 1: for a win against this week or against the Philadelphia
- 20:34Speaker 1: Eagles this week.
- 20:35Speaker 3: What's that one thing.
- 20:37Speaker 2: They've got to get home with? Four they have to
- 20:39Speaker 2: get home with four guys. Sure, the Bucks are third
- 20:42Speaker 2: in the NFL, or sorry, second in the NFL right now,
- 20:45Speaker 2: with like a forty seven percent pressure rate. Yeah, second
- 20:47Speaker 2: or third, either way, they're in the top three. But
- 20:50Speaker 2: they're also seventh highest blitz rate. In all of their
- 20:55Speaker 2: sacks except for one have come off of a blitz
- 20:58Speaker 2: so far this season. And ya ya or sorry too,
- 21:01Speaker 2: Hassan Redick and ya Ya Dabi Dyabi are their only
- 21:05Speaker 2: natural pass rushers who have gotten pressure. So they've got
- 21:10Speaker 2: to get home with four because obviously Jalen Hurts, as
- 21:13Speaker 2: Grays he is, he's not the best against pressure. No
- 21:16Speaker 2: quarterback is. That's not a slight, but you know Jalen
- 21:18Speaker 2: Hurts has his specific struggles against pressure. And then what
- 21:21Speaker 2: that will also do is it allow that secondary to
- 21:25Speaker 2: mix and match to hide some coverages. You know, the
- 21:28Speaker 2: Bucks aren't sending an extra guy so that they don't
- 21:30Speaker 2: need somebody to automatically go fill that space. Right, So
- 21:33Speaker 2: getting home with four and then being able to just
- 21:36Speaker 2: let the secondary do its thing with the extra seven,
- 21:38Speaker 2: the Bucks have to do that. It's been a problem
- 21:41Speaker 2: since Todd Bowles has been here, except for maybe twenty nineteen,
- 21:43Speaker 2: and that's when Shaq Barrett went off for nineteen and
- 21:45Speaker 2: a half sacks. But for whatever reason, they just struggle
- 21:48Speaker 2: to get home. And I'm not talking about pressure. They
- 21:51Speaker 2: can get pressure with four, but they have to get home.
- 21:53Speaker 2: They have to sack the quarterback with four guys. They
- 21:56Speaker 2: have to create negative plays with four guys, and if
- 21:59Speaker 2: they can't do that, then they're going to have some
- 22:01Speaker 2: trouble on.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Eagles tend to do that as well. I mean, seriously,
- 22:04Speaker 1: it's a similar situation. Eagles haven't been able to get
- 22:07Speaker 1: home a lot, especially this season, not too many sacks
- 22:11Speaker 1: on the year. On the opposite side of things, here, Evan,
- 22:14Speaker 1: what's the one thing the Eagles are going to need
- 22:15Speaker 1: to hit on for a win this week against the
- 22:17Speaker 1: Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 22:18Speaker 2: They got to run the ball. You know, Tampa Bay's
- 22:20Speaker 2: got a really good run defense, but they can be
- 22:23Speaker 2: run on from time to time. And we saw last
- 22:25Speaker 2: week Saquan struggled against the Rams early on twenty six
- 22:28Speaker 2: to seven. You know, it led over real quick. So
- 22:32Speaker 2: as good as Jalen is, no quarterback in this league
- 22:34Speaker 2: can do it by himself. How Baker did it last week?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Behind the offensive line and no running game. I don't know,
- 22:41Speaker 2: And that's just why Baker's That's why Baker's almost in
- 22:43Speaker 2: the MVP conversation. But yeah, they've got to be able
- 22:47Speaker 2: to run the ball. And I'm not trying to be
- 22:48Speaker 2: you know, your curmudgeon nineteen sixties run three yards in
- 22:51Speaker 2: a cloud dust, run damn ball t late, you know,
- 22:55Speaker 2: not trying to be like that. But they they've got
- 22:56Speaker 2: to run the ball sake. One's got to get going otherwise. Yeah,
- 22:59Speaker 2: the Bucks, you're not going to have any problem coming
- 23:01Speaker 2: after them if they go one dimensional.
