- 0:00Dave Hamilton: Business Brain, episode 787 for Casual Friday AI, September 11th,
- 0:06Dave Hamilton: No News is Good News Day, 2026.
- 0:10Dave Hamilton: I think that September 11th is a fitting day for No News is Good News Day.
- 0:13Shannon Jean: That's probably pretty good.
- 0:15Dave Hamilton: Yeah, I'm guessing it came from exactly where we think it came from.
- 0:18Shannon Jean: Yeah, you're probably right. Well, we're going to talk about newspapers here
- 0:20Shannon Jean: on the show too. Oh, interesting. All right.
- 0:23Dave Hamilton: It's Friday AI time, so let's get into it. Greetings, folks,
- 0:26Dave Hamilton: and welcome to Business Brain,
- 0:28Dave Hamilton: the show where we take a few ideas and we crunch them, we dissect them,
- 0:33Dave Hamilton: we use them to tune our business brains so that we can each keep on living those charmed lives.
- 0:39Dave Hamilton: Our sponsors include go.fitnexa.com slash brain, which automatically applies
- 0:44Dave Hamilton: 10% off to the Somnipods 3 sleep earbuds.
- 0:49Dave Hamilton: Now you see why I prerecord the ads, because I just, I fumble all over these brand names.
- 0:54Dave Hamilton: And shopify.com slash business brain where you can start with a free trial of
- 1:00Dave Hamilton: this fantastic platform service that we'll talk more in depth about both of
- 1:05Dave Hamilton: those in a little bit for now here in Durham New Hampshire I'm Dave Hamilton
- 1:09Shannon Jean: And I'm Shannon Jean out here in Northern California happy Friday.
- 1:12Dave Hamilton: I happy Friday I man I have a I have a question for you I have a lot of things
- 1:19Dave Hamilton: to talk about with friday eye uh
- 1:21Dave Hamilton: but we'll start with the no news part because yes uh you know because they go
- 1:26Dave Hamilton: with the theme uh what is grokbot
- 1:29Shannon Jean: So GrokBot is basically, the way I look at it, somebody described it to me as
- 1:34Shannon Jean: the apple of open claw or maze.
- 1:39Dave Hamilton: Okay.
- 1:39Shannon Jean: It's, in my experience, the easiest way to create agents and loops,
- 1:45Shannon Jean: which we've discussed on the show here. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:47Shannon Jean: And I would be glad to show you some examples. I am certainly no expert,
- 1:51Shannon Jean: but I started just last week messing around with it, and I got to tell you,
- 1:55Shannon Jean: it's pretty impressive.
- 1:57Dave Hamilton: Okay, yeah, I'm curious. So just tell me, like, tell us, what are you doing with GrokBot?
- 2:02Dave Hamilton: Because I do all kinds. I have Claude, like Claude Cowork can do this,
- 2:08Dave Hamilton: and OpenClaw obviously can do it too.
- 2:10Shannon Jean: Absolutely.
- 2:12Dave Hamilton: But the implementations of
- 2:14Dave Hamilton: them are all different and not the smoothest different things. So, yeah.
- 2:20Shannon Jean: That's correct. So what I found is I'm kind of technical, but not,
- 2:25Shannon Jean: you know, super crazy into it.
- 2:27Shannon Jean: And I use Claude like crazy and Chachupity and all this stuff.
- 2:30Shannon Jean: Yeah. But so the way you set up CrockBot is you launch it and- So.
- 2:36Dave Hamilton: You download it as an app for your
- 2:38Shannon Jean: Computer. It's an app for your computer and your phone.
- 2:41Shannon Jean: The first bot you build is basically they recommend like a chief of staff.
- 2:46Dave Hamilton: Yep.
- 2:46Shannon Jean: Makes sense. That, that bot oversees all the other bots or agents that you're going to build.
- 2:52Dave Hamilton: Okay. That's good advice with any of your, whatever platform you're going to use.
- 2:59Dave Hamilton: Yes. Once, like I realized this a couple of weeks ago with all of my agents,
- 3:03Dave Hamilton: it was like, crap, I need to build an agent to remind me of what all my agents are doing.
- 3:09Shannon Jean: Yes.
- 3:09Dave Hamilton: Correct.
- 3:10Shannon Jean: The other thing it does is it pops up and it just says in real language,
- 3:17Shannon Jean: just talk about what I'm authorized to do and what I'm not.
- 3:21Dave Hamilton: Sure. Right.
- 3:22Shannon Jean: So you just say, oh, you're authorized to do this. You're not authorized to,
- 3:26Shannon Jean: post anything publicly.
- 3:28Shannon Jean: You're not authorized to change anything related to whatever.
- 3:31Shannon Jean: Sure. So you just tell it, which is great.
- 3:33Shannon Jean: The first one, the first bot I built after my chief of staff was a thing called Auction Scout.
- 3:42Shannon Jean: So what Scout does is it goes out based on a bunch of parameters that I gave
- 3:48Shannon Jean: it, and it searches for auctions and liquidations.
- 3:52Shannon Jean: And it comes back with a daily report every morning at 7 a.m.
- 3:56Shannon Jean: Of what it found for me all across the web based on all the data that I gave it.
- 4:02Shannon Jean: And the beauty of what GrokBot has its own computer.
- 4:06Dave Hamilton: Right?
- 4:06Shannon Jean: So it has a browser.
- 4:08Dave Hamilton: Because it's on your computer, right? Is that what you mean?
- 4:11Shannon Jean: It's on your computer. Yeah. No, no. No.
- 4:14Shannon Jean: Want me to show you?
- 4:15Dave Hamilton: No, I want you to tell me because we do an audio podcast.
- 4:18Shannon Jean: Yeah, you're right.
- 4:19Dave Hamilton: And that's fine. Dang it. Like, I will ask questions. I will prompt this because
- 4:24Dave Hamilton: I don't know. I'm not playing the fool here. I am the fool. Yeah, I understand.
- 4:28Shannon Jean: For each of your bots up in the corner, there's a window that opens a browser session in the cloud.
- 4:35Dave Hamilton: I see. It has Chrome.
- 4:36Shannon Jean: Okay. So it has its own Chrome web browser, and it allows you to log into whatever
- 4:41Shannon Jean: you need to. It always says, don't give me your password. or just go.
- 4:44Dave Hamilton: Log in just go log in sure sure
- 4:46Shannon Jean: And once you're logged in it can do whatever.
- 4:48Dave Hamilton: You want and is it truly happening in the cloud i and i i ask this question
- 4:53Dave Hamilton: because i don't know so like with my
- 4:57Dave Hamilton: uh open claw setup or with claude well with open claw everything is running
- 5:02Dave Hamilton: locally meaning if my computer goes to sleep correct it doesn't do anything with claude
- 5:08Dave Hamilton: you can have things that run locally you can have things that run in the cloud
- 5:12Dave Hamilton: and obviously they you know So different rules apply for both.
- 5:15Dave Hamilton: So with this- It's running in the cloud. If your computer goes to sleep,
- 5:18Dave Hamilton: it still does its scheduled tasks.
- 5:19Shannon Jean: Yeah, at the end of the day. So I was trying to, I have a site that I use, and I couldn't get past,
- 5:25Shannon Jean: The bot had a problem getting past Cloudflare.
- 5:28Dave Hamilton: Yeah, of course.
- 5:29Shannon Jean: And I said, hey. And so before I went down to dinner at that,
- 5:33Shannon Jean: or after work, whatever. Sure.
- 5:35Shannon Jean: Before I shut down for the evening, I said, I need you to work on this tonight.
- 5:41Shannon Jean: I want to come in tomorrow morning, have this figured out. So I shut my machine down.
- 5:45Shannon Jean: I came up in the morning and Scout came back and said, I found it.
- 5:48Shannon Jean: I found a public API for their search and I'm able to tap in and I can bypass this.
- 5:54Dave Hamilton: Yep.
- 5:55Shannon Jean: And it's great. And it's not, I'm not doing anything nefarious.
- 5:57Shannon Jean: I have an account on the site. I understand. I just want my agent to be able
- 6:01Shannon Jean: to pull the data. Yeah, yeah. So that's one thing it does.
- 6:06Shannon Jean: Another thing it does is another research bot I have, it's called Blabber,
- 6:11Shannon Jean: that goes out on X, YouTube, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
- 6:17Shannon Jean: Okay. And finds information about companies that are going out of business,
- 6:22Shannon Jean: liquidating inventory, stuff that, I mean, those two agents,
- 6:29Shannon Jean: that's like a couple hours of my day.
- 6:31Shannon Jean: Oh, yeah. Of purring up. And they'll go, so they're like, I found this,
- 6:36Shannon Jean: and then you explain what you're going to do with it. Okay, I'm going to do
- 6:39Shannon Jean: this. And it's like, well, here's the one that I think is the best one to work with. Here's how,
- 6:46Shannon Jean: I would describe it. Let me get you some more information on it.
- 6:51Shannon Jean: It's pretty wild. Then the other one that I really like, which I am going to share my screen.
- 6:57Shannon Jean: For those of us are watching on YouTube and whatever, I had a...
- 7:03Shannon Jean: I have a news bot. Okay. That, share my screen.
- 7:10Shannon Jean: And I'm going to go window.
- 7:12Dave Hamilton: I'll try and talk through what we're seeing, folks. Yeah, please do. Please do. Yeah. Okay.
- 7:17Shannon Jean: Yeah. So,
- 7:20Shannon Jean: this bot creates this paper. It's called The Daily Gene.
- 7:24Dave Hamilton: Love that.
- 7:24Shannon Jean: And it pulls from topics I've told that I'm interested in.
- 7:29Shannon Jean: It also pulls from my email. Yeah. It also pulls from my Slack and it also pulls from my calendar.
- 7:35Shannon Jean: So the first thing it got up, this was on Sunday, it said, hey,
- 7:38Shannon Jean: Business Brain sponsors land for Tuesday's show.
- 7:40Shannon Jean: Okay, give me an update because I get an email that says, here's this week's sponsors.
- 7:44Shannon Jean: It's got the weather, it's got stuff going on on my calendar.
- 7:48Shannon Jean: Oh, you got an order supposed to expect delivery from Vistaprint coming on the
- 7:53Shannon Jean: 21st. Yeah. And then it comes in.
- 7:56Shannon Jean: I'm interested in cars. It comes in and talks about this cars.
- 7:59Shannon Jean: Here's an auction that opens up in three days. It talks about this.
- 8:03Shannon Jean: I'm interested in X and they're in a legal battle.
- 8:05Dave Hamilton: So no matter. So what this is, is just as Shannon describing it,
- 8:10Dave Hamilton: a summary of all of the data sources that that that matter to Shannon. So your email. Yes.
- 8:18Dave Hamilton: The various things you follow, all that stuff. I love this.
- 8:22Shannon Jean: But it puts it together in a really nice format.
- 8:24Dave Hamilton: Yeah, it's got it formatted like an old-school newspaper, which is cool.
- 8:27Shannon Jean: Yeah, and if you have your printer hooked up, it'll say, do you want me to print
- 8:31Shannon Jean: this out for you every morning?
- 8:32Dave Hamilton: Oh, there you go. Oh, I see. Yeah, sure. Okay.
- 8:34Shannon Jean: Yeah, so you could, like, read it over coffee or whatever.
- 8:37Dave Hamilton: Yeah, no, and this is, if you're using, you know, OpenClaw or anything else, do this.
- 8:43Dave Hamilton: No, it's like, I highly recommend, I get several of these each day.
- 8:48Dave Hamilton: I get a, here's what's on your calendar for the week, and then for the day,
- 8:51Dave Hamilton: you know, that kind of thing.
- 8:52Shannon Jean: Yeah, and this is the kind of layout that I described earlier for those of you
- 8:56Shannon Jean: who are watching on YouTube or whatever.
- 8:58Dave Hamilton: It looks a lot like your Telegram layout for OpenClaw if you're using that.
- 9:04Shannon Jean: And this is the browser.
- 9:07Dave Hamilton: I want to go back to something you said because I think there's sort of the
- 9:13Dave Hamilton: punchline to this that you started
- 9:15Dave Hamilton: with, which was great. I didn't understand what you meant. Now I do.
- 9:19Dave Hamilton: One of the first things you said was that it's the apple of agentic operations.
- 9:28Dave Hamilton: And I want to translate that. And I want you to confirm that I've got this right.
- 9:33Dave Hamilton: What you meant by that was this is the way of using like
- 9:38Dave Hamilton: the features of OpenClaw that might matter to most people have now been packaged
- 9:44Dave Hamilton: in a way that's actually accessible to most people.
- 9:49Shannon Jean: At exit yes right.
- 9:50Dave Hamilton: That's that's what you meant by it's the apple version of this yeah it's not made by apple obviously
- 9:55Shannon Jean: But no no no no but it's it's the the ui is very straightforward,
- 10:00Shannon Jean: it it's got tremendous power but it's easy to implement yes right and,
- 10:05Shannon Jean: you could i i spun up these bots in minutes and now i'm refining them and now
- 10:10Shannon Jean: i'm i'm thinking okay oh this like i have a new bot that I'm going to spin up
- 10:15Shannon Jean: or I'm going to have my chief of staff spin up today.
- 10:18Shannon Jean: Yep. That's just going to be focused on a certain thing. I'm like,
- 10:21Shannon Jean: Hey, I need you to do this. I want to do this.
- 10:23Shannon Jean: And you know, this is, this is cursor. So if you watch, there's a ton,
- 10:28Shannon Jean: there's also a bot marketplace. Yeah.
- 10:30Shannon Jean: That you can go get these bots now. It's free. But the, the folks that are doing
- 10:36Shannon Jean: this cause it's called SpaceX AI now. Yeah.
- 10:40Shannon Jean: They seem to be all that have come over from cursor. They bought.
- 10:43Dave Hamilton: Yeah. Cause they acquired.
- 10:44Shannon Jean: Because they bought them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so they're doing incredible
- 10:47Shannon Jean: tutorials. It's the first time I've sat and watched a one-hour tutorial, I think, in a long time.
- 10:52Dave Hamilton: So check it out. This is great. I love that this exists, and I'm glad we talked
- 10:56Dave Hamilton: about it because this is...
- 10:59Dave Hamilton: I have been relying on all different types of agents, mainly in OpenClaw and
- 11:04Dave Hamilton: Claw, you know, for a while.
- 11:06Dave Hamilton: But it's when somebody asks me, how do I get started with it?
- 11:09Dave Hamilton: It's like, well, are you a programmer?
- 11:12Dave Hamilton: Because if you're not, I don't want to have that. I could do it.
- 11:15Dave Hamilton: Like, I could explain it to you, but it's going to be very frustrating.
- 11:19Shannon Jean: Implementation is difficult. It's difficult. It's super powerful, I imagine.
- 11:23Dave Hamilton: Of course. Yes, of course. What I have is exactly, it's not exactly, but it's.
- 11:28Dave Hamilton: But it feature compatible feature, feature consistent with what you have.
- 11:34Dave Hamilton: Yeah. And I can spin up bots very quickly now. But it took me now. That's it.
- 11:40Shannon Jean: Keyword being now.
- 11:41Dave Hamilton: But I had to invest many hours getting it to a point where I can just say,
- 11:47Dave Hamilton: oh, I would like to have this. And now it goes in like does its thing.
- 11:51Dave Hamilton: That was not the case initially. It was and it and yeah, and it's still very fragile.
- 11:57Dave Hamilton: Like even just the other day it was like oh crap i updated open claw and it
- 12:01Dave Hamilton: broke all sorts of crap again like this sucks so yeah like i love this now this is 30 bucks a month for
- 12:08Shannon Jean: It's free if you have a premium plus on x sure limited limited uh tokens or
- 12:15Shannon Jean: whatever you call it you're gonna but i haven't maxed it out yet i haven't.
- 12:18Dave Hamilton: Paid a dime so you're using it inside of your premium plus thing from Yeah,
- 12:21Shannon Jean: It just said log in as X, and it came up, and it was free.
- 12:25Shannon Jean: And I think on my usage, it's like, I don't even know. 26%. Okay.
- 12:32Dave Hamilton: There you go. Yeah. Okay. All right. So. We'll talk.
- 12:35Dave Hamilton: I'm sure we'll talk more about this, but this is, I love that this exists,
- 12:39Dave Hamilton: and I love that we're talking about it. I didn't quite realize,
- 12:41Dave Hamilton: in fact, I didn't realize at all what GrokBot was, so thank you. You bet.
- 12:45Shannon Jean: That's part of my job. All right.
- 12:47Dave Hamilton: We have a few other things to talk about with regards to AI,
- 12:52Dave Hamilton: And we will. The next thing that we're going to talk about is our sponsors.
- 12:56Dave Hamilton: And that brings up the subject of sleep, because for anybody running a business,
- 13:01Dave Hamilton: that's the part of the day that gets sacrificed first. I know that's true for
- 13:05Dave Hamilton: me, and it's probably true for many of you, too.
- 13:08Dave Hamilton: Our sponsor, Fitnexa, sent me their Somnipods 3. They actually sent them to both me and Shannon.
- 13:13Dave Hamilton: And these are earbuds built specifically for sleeping.
- 13:17Dave Hamilton: The whole design is flat and low profile built so that when you're on your side
- 13:22Dave Hamilton: with your head on the pillow, you're not getting that pressure that you get
- 13:25Dave Hamilton: from like regular earbuds. And that was my first question going in, right?
- 13:28Dave Hamilton: Will these actually work for me lying down? And the answer is yes,
- 13:33Dave Hamilton: they're comfortable and I can side sleep my ear on the pillow without thinking
- 13:38Dave Hamilton: about it, even when they're in.
- 13:40Dave Hamilton: The noise reduction is the other thing that I was really like eager to test out.
- 13:46Dave Hamilton: And these seal really well so they take the edge off the noise around me these
- 13:51Dave Hamilton: have earned a spot in my travel kit for sure right
- 13:55Dave Hamilton: You got to check these out and you can do that you can check out somnipods 3
- 14:00Dave Hamilton: at go.fitnexa.com slash brain the link will automatically apply ten dollars off
- 14:07Dave Hamilton: that's go.fitnexa.com slash brain and you can also just use code brain for ten
- 14:13Dave Hamilton: dollars off we'll put the link in the show notes check them out i think you're
- 14:16Dave Hamilton: going to like them as much as we do and our thanks to fitnexa
- 14:20Dave Hamilton: and somnipods 3 for sponsoring this episode
- 14:23Dave Hamilton: And I know I've told this story before, but I want to tell it again.
- 14:26Dave Hamilton: We had a morning team meeting once where somebody said, we need to sell merch for the business.
- 14:32Dave Hamilton: Normal outcome, right? That idea dies in a Slack thread somewhere.
- 14:36Dave Hamilton: Instead, and because of our sponsor Shopify, by the close of business that same
- 14:42Dave Hamilton: day, we had the store up and we'd already made our first sale.
- 14:47Dave Hamilton: Same day, thanks to our sponsor Shopify.
- 14:51Dave Hamilton: That's the part I wish I'd understood earlier, right? Shopify is where you go
- 14:55Dave Hamilton: to start your business and everything you need is already there on day one.
- 15:00Dave Hamilton: You don't have to know how to do it all yourself. The design templates and the
- 15:05Dave Hamilton: AI site builder they have do the heavy lifting on the storefront.
- 15:08Dave Hamilton: So you're not staring at a blank page wondering what a homepage is supposed
- 15:11Dave Hamilton: to look like in 2026. They have it covered.
- 15:15Dave Hamilton: And ShopPay is the easiest checkout out there, which matters because the fastest
- 15:20Dave Hamilton: way to lose a first sale is clunky checkout.
- 15:24Dave Hamilton: We use it for merch on another one of my podcasts, and I love it.
- 15:28Dave Hamilton: We really didn't have it all together when we launched, right?
- 15:31Dave Hamilton: We just started, and Shopify makes that easy.
- 15:35Dave Hamilton: So if you're ready to hear the ka-ching of your first sale today,
- 15:40Dave Hamilton: head over to Shopify.com slash BusinessBrain to start your free trial today.
- 15:46Dave Hamilton: That's right. Start your free trial at Shopify.com slash BusinessBrain.
- 15:50Dave Hamilton: One more time, that's Shopify.com slash BusinessBrain. Go check it out.
- 15:55Dave Hamilton: I think you're going to like it as much as we do.
- 15:56Dave Hamilton: And our thanks to Shopify for sponsoring this episode.
- 16:00Dave Hamilton: So there's two things that came out this week, Shannon. I want to talk about both of them. All right.
- 16:06Dave Hamilton: One is called, well, it's actually two things I became aware of this week.
- 16:10Dave Hamilton: One of them came out this week, and one of them has been out for quite some time.
- 16:14Dave Hamilton: The first is what ChatGPT calls, or OpenAI calls, ChatGPT Computer History.
- 16:21Dave Hamilton: Do you know what this is? Are you aware of this?
- 16:24Shannon Jean: No. Okay, great. Enlighten me.
- 16:26Dave Hamilton: Yeah. I just became enlightened a few hours ago.
- 16:29Dave Hamilton: Evidently it's been out for a little while um but and it is off by default i
- 16:34Dave Hamilton: think that's probably important to share okay what it is is
- 16:39Dave Hamilton: it when you turn it on and give it permission to
- 16:43Dave Hamilton: watch what you do on your computer it now turns all of your recent computer
- 16:49Dave Hamilton: activity into memories and a timeline and context.
- 16:55Dave Hamilton: I know, dude. Right. So for example, if it, if you, you know,
- 17:00Dave Hamilton: you just have it sort of gathering this context and then you fire up like,
- 17:04Dave Hamilton: you know, your little session, your agent, a temporary agent, maybe.
- 17:08Dave Hamilton: And you say, I need to create something and I want you to put together a little document for me.
- 17:16Dave Hamilton: It's going to know, well, wait a minute, you know, Shannon uses PDFs a lot more
- 17:20Dave Hamilton: than Word documents, so I'm going to make this as a PDF, right?
- 17:24Dave Hamilton: But also, it's going to know that you were emailing back and forth with me about
- 17:27Dave Hamilton: something, and it might say, hey, do you want me to pull in some of that data
- 17:32Dave Hamilton: that you shared with Dave via email?
- 17:33Dave Hamilton: Should I put that in this thing? And like this is – we're getting closer and
- 17:39Dave Hamilton: closer to that personal awareness agent, right?
- 17:43Shannon Jean: Is it – yeah, is it like tracking –,
- 17:48Shannon Jean: I mean, how does it work? Is it tracking what you're doing? Like screens,
- 17:52Shannon Jean: grabbing, doing screen grabs or it's like that kind of stuff?
- 17:55Dave Hamilton: It is. And you get to decide. I haven't been using it. I literally,
- 18:00Dave Hamilton: like I said, I literally found out about it.
- 18:02Shannon Jean: What is it in the settings here?
- 18:03Dave Hamilton: You can turn on computer history in chat GPT in the desktop app on your Mac.
- 18:09Dave Hamilton: You go into settings, integrations and select computer history.
- 18:13Shannon Jean: Integrations.
- 18:14Dave Hamilton: Here we go. And you're going to go through a whole process of uh privacy screens
- 18:19Dave Hamilton: which is good you know obviously yeah yeah yeah we want this
- 18:24Dave Hamilton: for sure you know interesting i know and i love this i like
- 18:30Dave Hamilton: i i get where this is probably petrifying to many people listening and i understand
- 18:34Dave Hamilton: that too but like the idea of the an ai agent having
- 18:43Dave Hamilton: context of everything that i do on my computer now here's something that's important
- 18:49Dave Hamilton: to note this week apple's going to be announcing like the release dates of their
- 18:54Dave Hamilton: next operating systems and all that stuff right yeah
- 18:56Dave Hamilton: so like ios 27 uh
- 19:00Dave Hamilton: and mac os 27 have a similar thing going on it's not quite the same but they
- 19:06Dave Hamilton: definitely take context from everything and one of the things that i will
- 19:11Dave Hamilton: you know encourage people to do if you're if you're an iPhone person once you
- 19:14Dave Hamilton: get iOS 27 it and this is going to take time I've been running it for months
- 19:19Dave Hamilton: and it's it like I keep forgetting
- 19:22Dave Hamilton: My phone, when I activate the S bot, you know, the, the, the,
- 19:27Dave Hamilton: the, the, I don't want to say S I R I. So I'll call it S bot. Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:30Dave Hamilton: When I activate the S bot, it can see what I see on my screen. That's new.
- 19:35Shannon Jean: Oh, that's nice.
- 19:37Dave Hamilton: And like, there was something, a friend of mine, a friend of mine sent me an
- 19:40Dave Hamilton: image the other day and I didn't understand what it meant.
- 19:43Dave Hamilton: It, it was, um, it was, it was related to a football game that happened in Michigan.
- 19:48Dave Hamilton: Again and i think it said it was like a sign that said welcome to ann arbor
- 19:52Dave Hamilton: set your clocks back one second
- 19:54Shannon Jean: Oh yeah i heard about that.
- 19:56Dave Hamilton: If you if you were aware of this that's really funny i was not and i'm like
- 20:00Dave Hamilton: i don't know what this is and i thought aha and i invoked siri
- 20:04Dave Hamilton: and shoot i said the word i'm sorry to everyone who's driving i won't say it
- 20:08Dave Hamilton: again i promise i try uh i invoked the s-bot
- 20:11Dave Hamilton: and i i asked it i said what's the context of this and it said oh there was
- 20:17Dave Hamilton: this game, this football game that happened recently
- 20:20Dave Hamilton: in Ann Arbor, and the clocks
- 20:23Dave Hamilton: were favoring the home team greatly.
- 20:26Dave Hamilton: The longest second in the world happened in Ann Arbor this past weekend. So...
- 20:32Dave Hamilton: But I didn't have to send it the image. I just said, on my screen is a thing.
- 20:38Dave Hamilton: Help me with this. And you can do it when you're on a web page.
- 20:41Dave Hamilton: You can do it anywhere. So these kinds of things are coming around.
- 20:44Dave Hamilton: So that's ChatGPT computer history. I love it. Go ahead.
- 20:48Shannon Jean: Well, so I'm up in the computer use. It's in integrations. Is it where you look
- 20:55Shannon Jean: and it's like turning on?
- 20:57Dave Hamilton: I'll put a link in the show notes. Yeah, perfect. Because I don't have it in front of me.
- 21:01Dave Hamilton: So yeah yeah yeah but but yeah the links in the show notes about where to turn
- 21:04Dave Hamilton: it on i'm very interested in that the other thing that i wanted to share quickly
- 21:08Dave Hamilton: and we can talk about this more in i know we're kind of running over time here
- 21:14Dave Hamilton: uh we can talk about this more
- 21:16Dave Hamilton: um simple bench is uh a rating engine
- 21:22Dave Hamilton: for uh ai right okay um in in in theory although it can be used on humans And it has been, but
- 21:31Dave Hamilton: its idea and the reason they call it simple bench is that it tests things like
- 21:35Dave Hamilton: everyday reasoning from like spatial logic to social situations,
- 21:40Dave Hamilton: trick questions. Right.
- 21:42Dave Hamilton: And and so it's not looking for, hey, can you take this huge corpus of data and summarize it for me?
- 21:49Dave Hamilton: That's not something a human will ever be able to do as well as a computer.
- 21:53Dave Hamilton: That's been true for a long time. And it's especially true now.
- 21:55Dave Hamilton: Right. There's no arguments there.
- 21:58Dave Hamilton: But this idea of, you know, artificial general intelligence is the question.
- 22:06Dave Hamilton: And so Simple Bench is measuring that by looking at these sort of common sense kind of things.
- 22:13Dave Hamilton: Now, they have rated both Astra Pro and Fable. So Astra from OpenAI,
- 22:21Dave Hamilton: Fable from Cod, and humans, of course, have a benchmark.
- 22:25Dave Hamilton: Now astro pro comes in at 86.5 percent
- 22:30Dave Hamilton: uh which almost ties it we'll call it an effective tie with fable 5.1 at 86.6
- 22:37Dave Hamilton: percent so i think that's probably a margin of rounding error right you know yeah yeah so
- 22:41Dave Hamilton: astro pro and fable 5.1 are tied at you know 86 point something percent
- 22:47Dave Hamilton: Humans are at 83.7 percent that's pretty interesting and i have i have been
- 22:55Dave Hamilton: using fable 5.1 quite a bit this past week i i hadn't had access to astra uh
- 23:01Dave Hamilton: yet but fable you know i mean they're essentially
- 23:04Dave Hamilton: you know equally competent and where i
- 23:08Dave Hamilton: naturally gravitated to and really supports what these findings have come up
- 23:13Dave Hamilton: with is anytime i'm in a scenario where i don't know the subject matter
- 23:19Dave Hamilton: i turn to fable and i say okay you're actually the expert here i'm not the expert
- 23:25Dave Hamilton: looking for an assistant
- 23:27Dave Hamilton: i am the assistant now and it's okay it's a change of roles so it's you know
- 23:32Dave Hamilton: my my my internal barometer is how far out over my skis am i okay time to turn on fable and like
- 23:41Dave Hamilton: I i have found that in most cases i can trust it which is very different
- 23:47Dave Hamilton: from a year ago with or two years certainly two years ago but it's even a year
- 23:50Dave Hamilton: ago or even six months ago when it's like well if i don't know the subject matter
- 23:55Dave Hamilton: if i don't have domain expertise
- 23:57Dave Hamilton: then i can't use ai to help me with sure yeah with fable 5.1 i can use ai to
- 24:04Dave Hamilton: help me with it and i'm guessing that astro pro is going to be the you know
- 24:07Dave Hamilton: the gbt6 astro is going to be the same way yeah yeah
- 24:09Shannon Jean: Yeah i'm looking forward to playing around with Astro.
- 24:12Dave Hamilton: It's really powerful.
- 24:14Shannon Jean: Yeah, from what I understand. It's going to be good. It's amazing what a world
- 24:18Shannon Jean: we live in and what tools.
- 24:21Shannon Jean: I know. If I had these tools 20 years ago, dude.
- 24:23Dave Hamilton: Oh my gosh. But we have them now and we are still ahead of the game. The world will catch up.
- 24:31Shannon Jean: Yes, but most people are not implementing these tools yet when you talk about
- 24:35Shannon Jean: it. I try to talk about it around the campfire. No. Everybody looks at me like.
- 24:39Dave Hamilton: What? What are you doing, dude?
- 24:40Shannon Jean: Croc?
- 24:41Dave Hamilton: Yeah, knock it off. That's right. Yep. Same.
- 24:44Shannon Jean: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank goodness for this show where I can come on and geek
- 24:47Shannon Jean: out and talk about it every Friday.
- 24:48Dave Hamilton: Nerd out about AI. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. What is the big takeaway?
- 24:52Dave Hamilton: I think the big takeaway is if you aren't using an agentic manager yet or agentic
- 25:00Dave Hamilton: world yet, try GrokBot because I don't think anything else exists that's that easy.
- 25:05Dave Hamilton: And if there is something that's that easy, let us know at feedback at businessbrain.show.
- 25:09Dave Hamilton: But do you agree with my takeaway?
- 25:11Shannon Jean: GrokBot, to me, it's a real light bulb moment.
- 25:15Shannon Jean: When I set it up so quick and it instantly started creating or saving me time
- 25:21Shannon Jean: and creating stuff without me having to do any programming or any tweaking.
- 25:25Shannon Jean: And now it'll get better over time, but I love it. I love the concept.
- 25:29Dave Hamilton: No, it's great. I love that someone is really rolling this out in a way that
- 25:35Dave Hamilton: just is easy for everyone to use.
- 25:38Dave Hamilton: Of course, like I was saying before, people will catch up. This is why. This is why.
- 25:43Shannon Jean: But that's fine. They're pushing each other.
- 25:46Dave Hamilton: Yes. Which is great.
- 25:47Shannon Jean: And it benefits us. And so if you want to learn more about GrokBot,
- 25:51Shannon Jean: you're going to go to businessbrain.show slash blueprints, and we'll have a
- 25:57Shannon Jean: whole report. It's a business plan. Yeah.
- 26:02Shannon Jean: That's it. Business plan broken down, all about how to implement these AI products
- 26:07Shannon Jean: that we talk about here Friday. Check it out.
- 26:10Dave Hamilton: Thanks for hanging out, everybody. Keep on living that charm life.
- 26:12Dave Hamilton: Get feedback at businessbrain.show. Let us know what agentic managers you're
- 26:16Dave Hamilton: using. Keep living that charmed life. I said that already. Have a great weekend,
- 26:19Dave Hamilton: and we'll see you next week. See ya. Bye.
