- 0:00Speaker 1: Marks them all, Mr. New York.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now three hours every weekday from 9 till noon on 710WOR.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 0:08Speaker 2: 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 0:08Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Let's go to Terry, New York City. Terry, how you doing?
- 0:11Speaker 4: Hi.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Hi, Terry.
- 0:12Speaker 1: This is actually Tori. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm calling Terry. Tori, Tori, Tori.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 0:30Speaker 4: That's okay.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm calling because you're talking about the high cost of
- 0:36Speaker 2: the expenses of our congressmen and senators. Why do they
- 0:39Speaker 2: have to stay in Washington now that we have FaceTime
- 0:43Speaker 2: and Zoom meetings? Why does it have to be that
- 0:45Speaker 2: they have to be there all the time?
- 0:47Speaker 1: Well, you can't have it all pandemic-like. They've got this
- 0:52Speaker 1: beautiful Capitol and these beautiful chambers, and don't you want
- 0:56Speaker 1: them to use the buildings?
- 0:58Speaker 2: I understand that, but they could use it a few
- 1:01Speaker 2: times a year and then know who they're representing, actually
- 1:05Speaker 2: live in the communities that they're representing.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Well, you know, they do do that in the state
- 1:10Speaker 1: assembly and legislature here. It's a part-time job. You only
- 1:12Speaker 1: go up there like once a week or once every
- 1:14Speaker 1: couple weeks. You could do that. And then what do
- 1:18Speaker 1: we do with the Capitol? Rent it out for weddings
- 1:20Speaker 1: and bar mitzvahs? What do we do with it?
- 1:21Speaker 4: There you go.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'm just saying, then the lobbyists wouldn't have as much time.
- 1:26Speaker 2: ability to get to them and oh it could be.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Well that's the reason that's the reason they have to
- 1:31Speaker 1: be in washington so the lobbyists can take them to
- 1:33Speaker 1: lunch and dinner and send them women and do all
- 1:36Speaker 1: that stuff a lot of stuff goes on there money's
- 1:39Speaker 1: passed around i.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Think so i think so all right well i just
- 1:43Speaker 2: wanted to share that good.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Point tori thanks for calling let's go to hang on
- 1:49Speaker 1: let's go to uh tom in queens tom how you
- 1:52Speaker 1: doing Hey, Mark.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yes. Go Buchanan. You can tell.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Oh, AI.
- 2:01Speaker 3: What's really going to take a hit, if it's not already,
- 2:05Speaker 3: is the camera industry and the phones and the cell phones.
- 2:09Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Pictures that they take.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Well, they use AI in some of the editing on
- 2:14Speaker 3: these phones and along with the pictures that you take,
- 2:17Speaker 3: which is amazing. I'd say it's going to put a
- 2:20Speaker 3: lot of camera in.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but you still have to have the camera
- 2:23Speaker 1: to get the picture that you want to use AI on.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I use my cell phone, but I
- 2:30Speaker 3: used to use Olympus. I used to go out and
- 2:32Speaker 3: buy Olympus cameras.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Well, the only problem with that, in all the testing,
- 2:38Speaker 1: from the iPhone 17 on and then the 18, all
- 2:42Speaker 1: the testing shows it's equivalent now of a Canon or
- 2:45Speaker 1: a Nikon camera in pixels, quality. definition all that.
- 2:49Speaker 3: There you go yeah well that's my point yeah it's
- 2:52Speaker 3: a good point it's going to take a real hit
- 2:54Speaker 3: on them.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Uh yeah no you're right you're absolutely right well thanks
- 2:58Speaker 1: for calling yeah the uh you know it used to
- 3:00Speaker 1: be film cameras with film in them you know i've
- 3:04Speaker 1: been a photographer all my life had all these great
- 3:06Speaker 1: nikons and everything and then we all went to digital
- 3:09Speaker 1: cameras and then i was going to get rid of
- 3:12Speaker 1: all the film cameras and i said i wonder how
- 3:13Speaker 1: much they're worth and if you want to know just
- 3:15Speaker 1: go on ebay see what they're selling for Well, a
- 3:18Speaker 1: top Nikon film camera. I look on eBay. It's selling
- 3:21Speaker 1: for about $ 8. $ 9. They're not worth anything. You had
- 3:26Speaker 1: to throw them all out. Now, he's right. At some point,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you're going to throw out all those great Nikon and
- 3:31Speaker 1: Canon and Olympus digital cameras, but it's going to be
- 3:37Speaker 1: a while. The only time you still see them used,
- 3:40Speaker 1: professional photographers at the wedding, because you look silly if
- 3:43Speaker 1: you're just using your phone. If you're going to charge
- 3:45Speaker 1: them $ 1, 000 to be the photographer... You've got to have
- 3:48Speaker 1: a big camera and lights and everything. Let's go to
- 3:51Speaker 1: Vera in New York. Vera, how are you doing?
- 3:53Speaker 4: How are you doing? I'm good. I was calling you to,
- 3:58Speaker 4: how do they do polling? Because I've been voting since
- 4:00Speaker 4: I was 17 years old, and I'm 89. And nobody
- 4:06Speaker 4: never polled me.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Well, you can't poll everybody, but there are people. I've
- 4:13Speaker 1: been contacted by polls. It's happened.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Okay, they never contacted me. Okay, that was my first contact.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I think it's just you. I think they just don't
- 4:22Speaker 1: like you. It's just you, personally.
- 4:24Speaker 4: You know, since I was 17, I voted everything, special elections,
- 4:29Speaker 4: everything I voted. But the second question I wanted to
- 4:32Speaker 4: ask you, this year I went to vote for my
- 4:35Speaker 4: primary at my polling site.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Already?
- 4:38Speaker 4: When I went to vote, and I went in, you know,
- 4:41Speaker 4: and I gave them my card and everything, and they
- 4:43Speaker 4: gave me, I'm a Republican. OK, they gave me a ballot.
- 4:48Speaker 4: And so when I looked at them, like, well, this
- 4:50Speaker 4: is the wrong ballot. And they were there. Ain't no
- 4:52Speaker 4: Republicans running. I'm like, OK, then I can't vote. And
- 4:55Speaker 4: they said, you can do it after David. I'm like,
- 4:58Speaker 4: how can I do it after David? I'm not a
- 5:01Speaker 4: I'm not a Democrat.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yeah, this is OK. This is tampering. Where was this
- 5:05Speaker 1: polling place?
- 5:06Speaker 4: This is in Washington Heights.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Ah, okay, they're screwing around with the polling and giving
- 5:12Speaker 1: you the wrong thing deliberately.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Yes, sir, but I'm smart enough to know that. So
- 5:16Speaker 4: I say, I can't do that.
- 5:17Speaker 5: That's fraud.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Well, you sound like a pretty.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Yeah, so anyway, I just wanted to, you know.
- 5:22Speaker 3: No, that's good.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You sound like a pretty sharp woman, Vera. Very good.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Yeah, they do sometimes screw around, give
- 5:29Speaker 1: you the wrong ballot, do that kind of stuff. Let's
- 5:31Speaker 1: go to Barbie in New Jersey. Is that your name, Barbie?
- 5:35Speaker 5: Yeah, hi.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Like the doll? Hi, Mark.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 5:40Speaker 5: So I want to know what your opinion is of
- 5:44Speaker 5: Judge Napolitano.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Very nice guy. Very, very nice guy.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:50Speaker 1: What's the matter? You want me to attack him? He's
- 5:52Speaker 1: a friend of mine. I can't attack the guy.
- 5:54Speaker 5: He doesn't seem like he likes Trump.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I don't think he does. I think he's anti-Trump. Well,
- 5:59Speaker 1: that has nothing to do with anything. That's fine.
- 6:02Speaker 5: He does.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Some of my best friends hate Trump.
- 6:06Speaker 5: What's going on? Do you know the latest, what's going
- 6:09Speaker 5: on with Maria Bartiromo? Do you know if she's going
- 6:12Speaker 5: to pop up anywhere?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Yeah, she'll pop up somewhere. She's actually having a good
- 6:15Speaker 1: time right now. You know, you don't realize to do
- 6:18Speaker 1: that show, she had to get up like at three
- 6:20Speaker 1: in the morning every day. You know what that's like
- 6:23Speaker 1: getting up at that?
- 6:23Speaker 5: Maybe she's happy.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You know, I got to get up at seven in
- 6:26Speaker 1: the morning to do this show and it's killing me.
- 6:28Speaker 1: It is killing me.
- 6:29Speaker 5: My goodness.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I've never gotten up that early in my life. It's
- 6:32Speaker 1: killing me.
- 6:33Speaker 5: Mark, you should have. It started at 9 a long
- 6:35Speaker 5: time ago.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Oh, please.
- 6:36Speaker 5: I don't know how you got away with that.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, the show's pretty good 9
- 6:41Speaker 1: to noon, but getting up that early. So for her,
- 6:43Speaker 1: getting up at 3 in the morning, now she can
- 6:45Speaker 1: sleep as long as she's actually enjoying herself. She'll pop
- 6:48Speaker 1: up and she'll get something.
- 6:50Speaker 5: I like her.
- 6:50Speaker 1: She's a very nice person. Right now she's happy and
- 6:54Speaker 1: doing fine. Hey, when we come back, we'll talk to
- 6:57Speaker 1: the brilliant economist Steve Moore. And we'll get the truth
- 7:01Speaker 1: about affordability. We'll get the truth about taxes and all
- 7:04Speaker 1: this stuff coming up on 710WOR.
