Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 1: Trump in Israel
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's a mess out there. We'll get to the historic,
- 0:04Speaker 1: powerful moment, President Trump speaking in the Knesset Israel this morning,
- 0:08Speaker 1: powerful speech. We'll get to that Columbus Day. The parade
- 0:10Speaker 1: is canceled. We'll explain in a moment. We'll get to
- 0:14Speaker 1: George Stephanopolos. He shocked a lot of people on the
- 0:18Speaker 1: Sunday Show yesterday, sinking to all time lows. It was
- 0:21Speaker 1: really dirty, awful Stephanopolis at is worst. We'll get to
- 0:26Speaker 1: Diane Keaton. We'll get to the mayoral race. We'll get
- 0:30Speaker 1: to Mom, Donnie Cuomo, Curtis. A lot has happened over
- 0:36Speaker 1: the weekend. We'll get to the mayoral race. The stock
- 0:40Speaker 1: market took a plunge on Friday because there was a
- 0:43Speaker 1: tariff war that suddenly shot up against China tariffs, Dow
- 0:47Speaker 1: dropping five hundred points. The MSNBC, CNN Crown, they loved it.
- 0:52Speaker 1: They was great. They got to talk about that Dow. Wait, well,
- 0:57Speaker 1: the President speaking about it this morning, reassuring people. Dal
- 1:00Speaker 1: right back up to where it was very gloomy over
- 1:03Speaker 1: there at MSNBC. Right now, Hey, the Columbus Day parade
- 1:07Speaker 1: is canceled. This is very, very very unusual. It has
- 1:12Speaker 1: been canceled because of the weather. It's brutal outside, the rain,
- 1:17Speaker 1: the wind, very very high winds expected today. They were
- 1:21Speaker 1: on the phone all afternoon yesterday trying to decide what
- 1:24Speaker 1: to do. The weather forecasters said, as bad as yesterday was,
- 1:27Speaker 1: today could be worse. Kind of it would just look
- 1:32Speaker 1: horrible having a parade in that wind, in that rain.
- 1:35Speaker 1: It would look awful, just everybody getting blown around all
- 1:37Speaker 1: over the place, and it would be dangerous. Trees fallen,
- 1:41Speaker 1: anything could happen. So they made the other final straw
- 1:46Speaker 1: was Governor Hochel declared officially declared a state of emergency
- 1:51Speaker 1: in New York. And then overnight they realized, you can't
- 1:55Speaker 1: if there's a state of emergency, you can't have a
- 1:57Speaker 1: parade in the middle of that state of emergency. Means
- 2:01Speaker 1: you're supposed to stay home, be up. So the parade
- 2:04Speaker 1: is canceled. Latest word from the parade organizers is that
- 2:08Speaker 1: they're not going to reschedule. I guess it's just too
- 2:13Speaker 1: tough to do. So there is no Columbus Day Parade
- 2:15Speaker 1: this year. However, they normally would broadcast it on TV
- 2:19Speaker 1: about one o'clock, two o'clock they're still going to do
- 2:21Speaker 1: the broadcast. What they'll do is do interviews with the
- 2:25Speaker 1: Grand Marshal, the people in the parade. There'll be a
- 2:27Speaker 1: show you can watch on TV today. The Columbus Club
- 2:31Speaker 1: over there on sixty ninth Street, they're the ones that
- 2:33Speaker 1: put on the parade, so they'll do a live show
- 2:35Speaker 1: from the Columbus Club. They'll interview a lot of people.
- 2:38Speaker 1: They had a big gallat dinner Saturday night. I'll get
- 2:41Speaker 1: to that in a few moments because that has a
- 2:42Speaker 1: lot to do with the mayoral race, the behavior of
- 2:46Speaker 1: the candidates there. We'll get to that coming up. So
- 2:49Speaker 1: President Trump in Israel. It was a powerful speech. It
- 2:52Speaker 1: was great. It was a very formal teleprompter speech about
- 2:56Speaker 1: bringing peace to the world. But it's Donald Trump, so
- 3:00Speaker 1: minutes he would go off the teleprompter and throw in
- 3:03Speaker 1: a lot of stuff, some great moments. At one point
- 3:07Speaker 1: even looked at the Israeli president said you gotta pardon Babie.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Give him a pardon. The guy deserves it. Best wartime
- 3:13Speaker 1: leader ever. Remember Netnyahu was indicted a few years ago.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Minor little stuff. They claim he took a gift, They
- 3:21Speaker 1: claim he gave something to a reporter in exchange for
- 3:24Speaker 1: favorable coverage. It's not big stuff, but the President actually
- 3:27Speaker 1: sang it to him in front of the world. Give
- 3:29Speaker 1: the guy a pardon. After all he's done. The hostages
- 3:32Speaker 1: have been freed, the twenty living hostages. It's believed there's
- 3:35Speaker 1: twenty seven or twenty eight dead hostages. The body should
- 3:39Speaker 1: be released in the next day or two. The twenty
- 3:43Speaker 1: hostages were released. This is a great moment. It's a
- 3:45Speaker 1: great deal. And the only criticisms some people have Israel
- 3:50Speaker 1: sure gave up a lot of prisoners in exchange for
- 3:53Speaker 1: this something that I don't know, like a thousand prisoners.
- 3:55Speaker 1: The ratio of hostages to prisoners didn't seem right to
- 3:59Speaker 1: a lot of people. Some of those prisoners release, about
- 4:02Speaker 1: one hundred of them are the worst terrorists, I mean,
- 4:04Speaker 1: really bad Hamas terrorist types. Now, the argument is that
- 4:09Speaker 1: there's about twenty five thousand Hamas terrorists out there, so
- 4:14Speaker 1: if it's twenty five thousand and one hundred, it won't
- 4:16Speaker 1: change the dynamic too much. But it's a great moment,
- 4:19Speaker 1: a great deal, historic President Trump. The broadcast the speech
- 4:24Speaker 1: live on all the networks this morning. Then when it
- 4:26Speaker 1: was over, you could see the smiles and everybody's faces
- 4:29Speaker 1: knowing peace is here. It's a new era. It's the
- 4:33Speaker 1: beginning of a whole new era in the Mid East.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Everything is bad. Everybody was happy unless you put on MSNBC.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Then when the speech was over, they went to those
- 4:40Speaker 1: guys they have, you know, that whole panel with the
- 4:42Speaker 1: glasses and the bow ties, and they gave you that. Well,
- 4:47Speaker 1: they tried to. It was tough to make it sound negative,
- 4:50Speaker 1: the whole thing, but they tried. They tried. Well, you
- 4:52Speaker 1: never know, I mean, this is we're partnering with the
- 4:56Speaker 1: Saudi in the Middle Eastern. Can't be counted on as
- 4:59Speaker 1: a partner them. So they tried to spin it negative.
- 5:02Speaker 1: It wasn't easy to do. They really struggled. The hostages
- 5:07Speaker 1: are back, but they're going to be in medical care
- 5:10Speaker 1: for quite some time. They were kept in dark tunnels
- 5:15Speaker 1: for two years, and doctors say, besides all the physical
- 5:21Speaker 1: medical problems they could be facing, they're gonna need a
- 5:23Speaker 1: lot of treatment. The mental health problems could be huge.
- 5:27Speaker 1: So they'll be treating those hostages for a long long time.
- 5:32Speaker 1: And I sorry they keep getting these there's power outages
- 5:39Speaker 1: all over the place. I keep getting these power company
- 5:42Speaker 1: calls and we're restoring your power. So I think in
- 5:47Speaker 1: Connecticut you got like ten thousand outages this morning. Trees down,
- 5:51Speaker 1: lines down all over the place. So hey, you also
- 5:56Speaker 1: talk about Diane Keaton, lots of talk about their amazing career,
- 6:01Speaker 1: and then we'll get to Eric Adams having a fight
- 6:06Speaker 1: with a reporter getting a little angry. I'm speaking of angry.
- 6:11Speaker 1: The Columbus Day Parade was to be today. It's been
- 6:14Speaker 1: canceled because of the weather. But what they do is
- 6:18Speaker 1: on the Saturday night before they have a huge galla dinner.
- 6:23Speaker 1: The committee the club that puts on the parade, and
- 6:26Speaker 1: it's a great thing. Maria Bartiromo's the MC, a lot
- 6:29Speaker 1: of famous faces. It was normally at the Wall door
- 6:32Speaker 1: for somewhere, this time at Chipriani Wall Street, which I
- 6:38Speaker 1: like that Chipriani forty second Street, but that Wall Street
- 6:41Speaker 1: one is quite inconvenient getting to. And you get down
- 6:45Speaker 1: there to Wall Street, it's like a maze of little
- 6:47Speaker 1: streets and half of them are closed off as a
- 6:49Speaker 1: mess down there. So anyway, but it was quite a night.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Curtis showed up in fact, check my Instagram you'll see
- 6:57Speaker 1: a picture of me and Curtis at the dinner. But
- 6:59Speaker 1: Curtish showed up for the cocktail hour and was mobbed,
- 7:04Speaker 1: mobbed everybody wanted a picture with Curtis. People that are
- 7:07Speaker 1: all just surrounding him, mobbing them everybody. The energy you
- 7:11Speaker 1: could see in the room for Curtis was amazing, just
- 7:15Speaker 1: mobbed the whole night by the crowd. Then Andrew Cuomo
- 7:21Speaker 1: showed up for the cocktail party and the dinner and
- 7:23Speaker 1: it was just the opposite. Most people just kind of
- 7:25Speaker 1: looking at him, and he looked like he was not
- 7:29Speaker 1: in a good mood, not in a good mood. He
- 7:32Speaker 1: was kind of glaring at me the whole time. I
- 7:34Speaker 1: just stayed away. And then but there were other people
- 7:37Speaker 1: in the media who he went over and confronted. It
- 7:39Speaker 1: was it got kind of ugly, fact people intervening saying, hey,
- 7:43Speaker 1: not the place. So I don't know what the hell
- 7:46Speaker 1: he's so angry about. But it didn't look good. So far,
- 7:50Speaker 1: it hasn't gotten a lot of coverage his behavior there,
- 7:53Speaker 1: but it might. It might start to him. He was
- 7:57Speaker 1: quite unpleasant to some people there. We'll wait and see
- 8:01Speaker 1: what comes out about that. But hey, and George Stephanopolis
- 8:06Speaker 1: yesterday gets Vice President Vance as the guest. Now that's
- 8:10Speaker 1: kind of a big deal for a Sunday show to
- 8:12Speaker 1: have the Vice President of the United States as your guest.
- 8:17Speaker 1: You usually treat him with the great dignity. But Stephanopolis,
- 8:21Speaker 1: of course, a left wing, totally corrupt anchor totally partisan,
- 8:26Speaker 1: totally slanted, is just badgering and banging away Advance, trying
- 8:30Speaker 1: to give him a hard time. And then apparently they
- 8:33Speaker 1: decided the thing they would get him on is Tom
- 8:36Speaker 1: Holman taking a fifty thousand dollars bribe. Now there's no
- 8:39Speaker 1: evidence anywhere of Tom Holman taking a fifty thousand dollars bribe.
- 8:44Speaker 1: There is an FBI they had some undercover guy recording
- 8:48Speaker 1: a conversation of Homean accepting fifty thousand. But what it
- 8:51Speaker 1: was was, this is not while he's in government. He
- 8:54Speaker 1: was running a private business in the private sector and
- 8:58Speaker 1: somebody hired him for fifty dollars. It's not a bribe.
- 9:03Speaker 1: This is what everybody in government does when they leave.
- 9:05Speaker 1: This is what all these guys do. You know, the
- 9:08Speaker 1: former Senate majority leader, the Speaker of the House, all
- 9:12Speaker 1: the top government people, cabinet. But this is what many
- 9:16Speaker 1: of them about eighty percent of them. When they leave,
- 9:18Speaker 1: they set up a business and you can hire them.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And the reason you hire them is they got a
- 9:23Speaker 1: lot of cloud in DC. They can pick up the
- 9:25Speaker 1: phone and help you get a contract, they can help
- 9:28Speaker 1: you get a law changed, they can make phone calls.
- 9:31Speaker 1: They're like lobbyists, but they got a tremendous amount of influence.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Happens everywhere, happens here in New York City. If you
- 9:37Speaker 1: were a big deputy mayor or some big thing in
- 9:39Speaker 1: the New York City government, when you leave, many of
- 9:42Speaker 1: these guys form a company and you hire them as
- 9:44Speaker 1: your lobbyist. They can go down the city Hall and
- 9:47Speaker 1: get you your permits, or they can get whatever you need.
- 9:50Speaker 1: So it's perfectly normal. That's what Homan did in the
- 9:53Speaker 1: years he was out of government, and it's what eighty
- 9:55Speaker 1: percent of the people do when they're out of government.
- 9:57Speaker 1: It's what James Comy did. They go back into the
- 9:59Speaker 1: private sete. Now sometimes you'll see whoa you know, he
- 10:02Speaker 1: went to work for a law firm. That's the reason
- 10:04Speaker 1: the law firm hired him or his government influence. If
- 10:09Speaker 1: you're in the US Attorney's office and you leave the
- 10:12Speaker 1: law firm will hire you, not because you're the greatest attorney,
- 10:15Speaker 1: but because you know everybody in the US Attorney's office.
- 10:17Speaker 1: You can help get a deal for the client. But
- 10:20Speaker 1: it's a silly little story. But Stephanoppolis brings it up
- 10:23Speaker 1: with the Vice president, the vice president explaining all this
- 10:26Speaker 1: to them, and Stephanoppolis won't give up, and he's just
- 10:30Speaker 1: banging away at the Vice President of the United States.
- 10:32Speaker 1: And then this is where people thought it was the
- 10:34Speaker 1: lowest moment ever in the history of Sunday morning television.
- 10:38Speaker 1: He said, well, I have reporting here from Pro Publica.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Now you might be saying, what the hell is Pro Publica.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It's this far left wing blog. They call themselves journalist.
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's a news organization. It's a far left wing blog.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It's the last I mean, the fact that ABC News
- 10:57Speaker 1: is quoting this far left wing blog as some sort
- 11:00Speaker 1: of news organization is preposterous. It's backed by a couple
- 11:05Speaker 1: of left wing billionaires who pumped tons of money into it.
- 11:08Speaker 1: But the last time you ever heard it discussed was
- 11:10Speaker 1: by Keith Oberman, Remember that crazy Keith Oberman MSNBC. That's
- 11:14Speaker 1: the kind of guy was always quoting Pro public, so
- 11:17Speaker 1: it looks so low. And at one point the Vice
- 11:21Speaker 1: President said, you know, George, I'm the Vice President of
- 11:24Speaker 1: United States. Here I am on television. You should be
- 11:27Speaker 1: asking me about the shutdown. You should be discussing important issues,
- 11:31Speaker 1: not going down some far left rabbit hole, which he said,
- 11:35Speaker 1: that's the reason your ratings are slipping, that's the reason
- 11:38Speaker 1: less and less people watch you all the time. Well,
- 11:40Speaker 1: Stephan Upplis got mad and just cut him off, just
- 11:43Speaker 1: cut him off, and said I didn't I didn't a
- 11:45Speaker 1: quire him up, and we have to go. And then
- 11:48Speaker 1: as Vance started to say something, Stephanopplis said, we'll be
- 11:53Speaker 1: right back. Just cut off the Vice president. It was
- 11:56Speaker 1: the lowest moment. Can you imagine if Tim Russett were
- 11:59Speaker 1: alive and saw this. David Brinkley created that Sunday Morning Show.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I can imagine if he came back to life and
- 12:04Speaker 1: saw that, it would have been just awful for him. So, hey,
- 12:09Speaker 1: Diane Keaton, didn't expect her to go. She was only
- 12:14Speaker 1: seventy nine, I mean, seemed okay, but apparently her health
- 12:17Speaker 1: declined a lot in the last few months. Diane Keaton,
- 12:21Speaker 1: of course, the godfather, Michael, why.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Did you come here.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Why what you want of me?
- 12:29Speaker 4: After all this time you're out, You're going to be
- 12:31Speaker 4: calling writing.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I came here because I need you, because I kept
- 12:36Speaker 1: for you.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Please stop at Michaelsh.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I want you to marry men.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Now in real life, the opposite happened this Godfather's what
- 12:48Speaker 1: was it seventy one, seventy two, The sequel Godfather Too,
- 12:52Speaker 1: I think was seventy four. And then after that, Al
- 12:55Speaker 1: Pacino starts dating Diane Keaton and they get very very
- 12:58Speaker 1: very serious and goes on for many years, and I
- 13:02Speaker 1: guess she wanted to get married. She finally just absolutely
- 13:05Speaker 1: insisted they get married. This is after many, many, many
- 13:08Speaker 1: many years of dating. Pacino did not want to get married,
- 13:11Speaker 1: did not want to commit to that, and so she
- 13:14Speaker 1: broke up with him. That was the end of it.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Pacino later said years later that was the biggest mistake
- 13:19Speaker 1: of his life. Biggest regret is that he didn't marry her.
- 13:22Speaker 1: He should have done it, he didn't do it. So
- 13:25Speaker 1: now the other one was Woody Allen. Of course, Diane
- 13:29Speaker 1: Keaton and Woody Allen. They first worked together on Broadway,
- 13:32Speaker 1: and there was nineteen sixty nine Woody Allen had a
- 13:35Speaker 1: big Broadway show called Play It Against Sam, based on
- 13:38Speaker 1: the movie Castle Blank, and he auditioned a woman named
- 13:41Speaker 1: Diane Keaton and thought she was phenomenally he so he
- 13:44Speaker 1: fell in love with her immediately. Couldn't believe how fast
- 13:46Speaker 1: he fell in love with her. So she starred in
- 13:49Speaker 1: the show with him. They later did Annie Hall. She
- 13:51Speaker 1: got the Oscar for that.
- 13:52Speaker 4: You played very well, Oh yeah, so do you. Oh god,
- 13:56Speaker 4: what a dumb thing to say, right, I mean, you say,
- 14:00Speaker 4: even right away.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I have to say, you play well?
- 14:03Speaker 3: Oh oh god, Annie Well?
- 14:06Speaker 1: Oh well, Lotti da Lotti da. Well. You had to
- 14:12Speaker 1: be there at the time. Boy, that was quite a movie,
- 14:15Speaker 1: what a big film. That was her fashion in that film,
- 14:18Speaker 1: trend setting it was. She won the Oscar for it.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And of course she and Woody Allen dated for a while.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I mean, anybody can go from al Pacino to Woody Allen.
- 14:27Speaker 1: You got to give them credit. And oh hey, take
- 14:29Speaker 1: a look at my Instagram. The last time I saw
- 14:31Speaker 1: them together, they were having dinner together. I don't know,
- 14:34Speaker 1: it was like a year or two years ago. Whenever
- 14:36Speaker 1: it was, I put I took a picture of them
- 14:38Speaker 1: having dinner together with the wife, Sunny but it's up
- 14:43Speaker 1: on my Instagram. Take a look at it. Mark Simone,
- 14:45Speaker 1: NYC at Instagram. Woody Allen wrote a quite a piece
- 14:49Speaker 1: about her that's out. You can read that today. So
- 14:54Speaker 1: he Mark Sanchez now says drug substance alcohol? Is that
- 15:00Speaker 1: what he's saying. He says he's in recovery and now
- 15:02Speaker 1: I'm just thank my recovery.
- 15:08Speaker 3: And I just wanted to thank the.
- 15:12Speaker 1: First responders.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Eskenazi Hospital.
- 15:19Speaker 1: That's why you're going to first responders, thinking the police
- 15:22Speaker 1: that stopped him from killing the guy. I mean, the
- 15:25Speaker 1: guy was beaten to a pulp by Mark Sanchez. In fact,
- 15:28Speaker 1: if you see the pictures of this guy in the hospital,
- 15:31Speaker 1: it was brutal. Sanchez, I guess trying to recover his career.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I don't think it's gonna happen. I don't bet so. Anyway,
- 15:37Speaker 1: we got a lot to get to Michael Goodwin in
- 15:39Speaker 1: a few moments. The parade has been canceled. No Columbus
- 15:41Speaker 1: date parade. The rain will continue. It looks like it'll
- 15:45Speaker 1: ease up by tomorrow morning, and hey, we'll take some
- 15:48Speaker 1: calls next. Eight hundred three to two one zero seven
- 15:51Speaker 1: ten is the number. Eight hundred three to two one
- 15:55Speaker 1: zero seven ten. Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go
- 15:58Speaker 1: to fran massive peak fan. How you doing.
- 16:01Speaker 5: What's up, buddy? Always a pleasure, Thanks for the time.
- 16:04Speaker 1: And what's the weather like out there? How's the wind,
- 16:05Speaker 1: the rain, any damage?
- 16:07Speaker 5: It's miserable. And the scary thing is the win with
- 16:10Speaker 5: the trees. A lot of big trees in Long Island
- 16:12Speaker 5: where I live, and that's my biggest thing. I hate
- 16:14Speaker 5: those big trees.
- 16:16Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:17Speaker 1: That's a good thing about in the middle of Manhattan.
- 16:18Speaker 1: We don't have to worry about any trees. Everything.
- 16:21Speaker 5: It's just buildings. But anyway, listen, love the show. And
- 16:26Speaker 5: what a day for Trumpers, for the Jews, and what
- 16:29Speaker 5: a day just for Trump. If you think about the
- 16:31Speaker 5: Trump family, think about what they went through the first presidency.
- 16:35Speaker 5: The boy is absolutely ambushed by everybody. People thrown in jail, felonies,
- 16:42Speaker 5: They went after his businesses, they lied every which way
- 16:45Speaker 5: and any and.
- 16:46Speaker 2: He survived it.
- 16:47Speaker 5: That any runs again and they steal the second election
- 16:50Speaker 5: from him.
- 16:51Speaker 2: They go after him.
- 16:52Speaker 5: They really want to put him in jail and everything.
- 16:55Speaker 1: We know, the whole history. This is there a question, right,
- 16:58Speaker 1: but you think about we've thought about it quite a bit.
- 17:01Speaker 1: It's a it's an amazing story. The historians may have
- 17:06Speaker 1: to actually tell the truth and write what really happened
- 17:08Speaker 1: is it's fascinating. Let's go to Anthony and Staten Island. Anthony,
- 17:11Speaker 1: how you doing, Mark.
- 17:15Speaker 3: As listen from Brooklyn would say, I'm good. Hello.
- 17:19Speaker 4: More.
- 17:20Speaker 3: My point is how many Guardian angels does Curtis will
- 17:25Speaker 3: you lead and manage?
- 17:27Speaker 1: Well? The numbers change through the years. I mean it's
- 17:29Speaker 1: been up to like ten thousand, at one point one thousand,
- 17:32Speaker 1: I don't know what it is.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Okay, so you do though. It's five thousand, one hundred
- 17:36Speaker 3: and thirty cities in fourteen different countries. And why to
- 17:40Speaker 3: me that's very important.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Now people will say, hey, I don't see any Guardian. Well,
- 17:45Speaker 1: you only see them where they're needed. They're in the
- 17:47Speaker 1: high crime areas, they're in the they're in cities all
- 17:49Speaker 1: over the world that have serious problems. But if you're
- 17:53Speaker 1: you know, right outside there in fifty fifth and six,
- 17:57Speaker 1: it's not a high crime area, you won't see them there,
- 17:59Speaker 1: which is the idea. You want to see him where
- 18:01Speaker 1: they're needed. Let's go to Joseph in New York City, Joseph,
- 18:04Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Mark had the Columbus Day to everyone. Mark isn't Jeff
- 18:10Speaker 4: Bezels concern that his Amazon Food grocery stores were taken
- 18:16Speaker 4: over by that cop.
- 18:18Speaker 1: No, Actually, he bought Whole Foods a few years ago.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Deep down he doesn't. I don't think he really wants
- 18:25Speaker 1: to have these whole food supermarkets. If you'll notice, it
- 18:29Speaker 1: was very very high quality whole Foods everything in there.
- 18:33Speaker 1: After he bought it, they kind of brought the quality down,
- 18:35Speaker 1: still very good, but they brought the quality down and
- 18:38Speaker 1: they're making the stores a little smaller. The reason he
- 18:40Speaker 1: bought them is their distribution centers. He looked at the
- 18:47Speaker 1: they charted where all the Whole Foods are, and they
- 18:50Speaker 1: are exactly where they needed warehouse space, distribution centers. That's
- 18:54Speaker 1: one reason they bought them. And they're taking a lot
- 18:56Speaker 1: of those Whole food stores were enormous, so they're cutting
- 18:59Speaker 1: them in half and then back half is a distribution center.
- 19:01Speaker 1: A warehouse basis is very smart that way he plots.
- 19:07Speaker 1: When it looks like this is what he's doing, that's
- 19:08Speaker 1: not what he's doing. It's a scheme to set him
- 19:11Speaker 1: up for the next thing, Like Originally when he formed Amazon,
- 19:14Speaker 1: it was just to sell books. It was a place
- 19:17Speaker 1: you could go to buy books online. Well that's what
- 19:21Speaker 1: we all thought, and that's what he said. It turns
- 19:22Speaker 1: out that wasn't what it was all about. He knew
- 19:25Speaker 1: way back then what he was going to do, and
- 19:28Speaker 1: the reason he started us this little book thing was
- 19:31Speaker 1: so he could chart out, map out distribution, how to distribute,
- 19:35Speaker 1: set up the distribution network. Books were the easiest thing
- 19:37Speaker 1: to do it with to start, but he was plotting
- 19:40Speaker 1: to eventually be the place where you buy everything. But
- 19:43Speaker 1: he used books to figure out the logistics and get
- 19:46Speaker 1: that all set. Then he went to everything else. Let's
- 19:49Speaker 1: go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Good morning, Malcome okay, Mac. I'm Israeli hostages of being
- 19:58Speaker 2: released and it's really his of the Trump administration and
- 20:03Speaker 2: jarvied Kush day and VANNX says, but it's a bad deal.
- 20:08Speaker 2: What do they release it?
- 20:10Speaker 1: Something's going on? Call us back. Your phone is going crazy.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I think it's our phone. Actually, uh, that's not. Vincent's
- 20:16Speaker 1: what happens. We don't have actual phones anymore, believe it
- 20:20Speaker 1: or not. This place is so high tech it's not
- 20:22Speaker 1: even a phone. It's all digital. It's on an Amazon cloud.
- 20:25Speaker 1: And what happens, It was cutting out. But you'll also
- 20:28Speaker 1: hear that sometimes you'll speed up the voice and the
- 20:32Speaker 1: noodle's low dome little voice. And we don't want Vincent
- 20:35Speaker 1: to sound like that. It's not your fault, it's our phones.
- 20:38Speaker 1: But let's go to Walt and Yonkers. Walt, how you doing, hey, Mark.
- 20:42Speaker 4: I had a fight with the librarian yesterday. I'm leaving
- 20:45Speaker 4: the place and I tell her, Happy Columbus Day. She
- 20:48Speaker 4: to me, happy Indigenous people Day. I say to her,
- 20:51Speaker 4: you mean, like stand Wattie the Cherokee slave owner who
- 20:55Speaker 4: is a general in the Confederates.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I mean, now, I keep telling you, don't fight with
- 20:59Speaker 1: these livers. They don't want to hear it. Don't fight
- 21:01Speaker 1: with them. Let them live in their bubble. Don't fight
- 21:04Speaker 1: with them. What's the point. You're not going to convert them.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Always got to fight, always go to fight.
- 21:09Speaker 1: No, no, pick your battles, don't don't waste your breath
- 21:13Speaker 1: on them. They hate Listen, they hate Columbus. Why do
- 21:18Speaker 1: they hate Columbus. It's not really even Columbus. They just
- 21:20Speaker 1: hate America. They're the guy that founded and found America.
- 21:23Speaker 1: They just don't like. They may love their country, but
- 21:26Speaker 1: they don't like their country. They don't like Fourth of July,
- 21:28Speaker 1: they don't like hot dogs, they don't like barbecue. They
- 21:31Speaker 1: just don't like this stuff. And they don't like Columbus.
- 21:35Speaker 1: That's the reason for this. Now, what you should do?
- 21:38Speaker 1: You know, Columbus, I mean, think of you. He was
- 21:40Speaker 1: actually the first illegal alien. They claim to love illegals,
- 21:43Speaker 1: they should love Columbus. He should be the symbol of
- 21:45Speaker 1: illegal aliens. He was the first one here. Hey, when
- 21:48Speaker 1: we come back, Michael Goodwin, we'll talk to him next.
- 21:51Speaker 1: What a column he wrote yesterday. We'll talk about Israel,
- 21:53Speaker 1: the peace and all that coming up next on seven
- 21:56Speaker 1: to ten. W o R. Let's get the latest news thing.
- 21:59Speaker 1: President Trump in a historic speech in Israel this morning.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Michael Goodman wrote a powerful column yesterday about peace in
- 22:05Speaker 1: the Middle East. And he's the best columnist in America
- 22:09Speaker 1: and he's with us right now. Michael Goodwin, how you doing?
- 22:13Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark? I think everyone is doing pretty good
- 22:16Speaker 6: this morning.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Huh, yeah, what do you? I assume you saw the speech?
- 22:19Speaker 1: Pretty powerful, wasn't it?
- 22:21Speaker 6: Oh? Extraordinary? Yeah? I mean Trump at his trumpiest, right,
- 22:25Speaker 6: I mean, it's just, you know, he's a remarkable figure
- 22:30Speaker 6: on the world stage, and you know, you can you
- 22:34Speaker 6: can hate him if you want, but what he has
- 22:37Speaker 6: achieved here, I believe, is nothing short of remarkable.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Well, now, everybody was so thrilled, unless you turned over
- 22:46Speaker 1: to MSNBC. The glasses were fogging up, the bow ties
- 22:51Speaker 1: were crooked. The boat was thinking, uh well, but they
- 22:55Speaker 1: were trying to spin it. They said, you know, are
- 22:57Speaker 1: all these partners we have, these Middle Eastern countries, Saudi,
- 23:00Speaker 1: the those type of partners. You can't count on them.
- 23:02Speaker 1: And who trusts some us to hold up any end
- 23:05Speaker 1: of an agreement? What do you think?
- 23:09Speaker 6: I guess there's got to be a little rain on
- 23:11Speaker 6: every parade. Yeah, but look, Mark, this is a remarkable day.
- 23:18Speaker 6: And I think the President, among the many other things
- 23:22Speaker 6: that he said that made perfect sense today by focusing
- 23:26Speaker 6: on the Iranian attack which the United States carried out
- 23:31Speaker 6: with Israel. The effects of that, and I think probably
- 23:37Speaker 6: the fall of the Iranian regime sooner rather than later,
- 23:42Speaker 6: is that it creates a whole new dynamic in the
- 23:46Speaker 6: region and frankly in the world. But you think back
- 23:49Speaker 6: to hesbalah Right, where did they get their money in
- 23:53Speaker 6: arms from a moss?
- 23:55Speaker 2: Of course, big, big part of this.
- 23:59Speaker 6: Iranian terror regime, the hooties Syria. I mean, it's it's all,
- 24:04Speaker 6: it's all coming undone before our eyes. But only because
- 24:09Speaker 6: of two things. Israel's resolve and because of Donald Trump's
- 24:15Speaker 6: vision that we could change this dynamic. And he has
- 24:20Speaker 6: done it.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yeah, we didn't realize at the time. We just thought
- 24:23Speaker 1: it was take out the nuclear stuff, and that was that.
- 24:26Speaker 1: We didn't realize the chess move that he was playing there.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Take out these terrorist groups financing, take out their muscle,
- 24:33Speaker 1: and you've weakened Hesbala, hoodies, everybody all at once.
- 24:37Speaker 2: So but what you say, and and.
- 24:39Speaker 6: I think that within the kind of the terrorist world,
- 24:43Speaker 6: Iran has been diminished and embarrassed and humiliated. It turned
- 24:48Speaker 6: out to have been effeckless at the at the most
- 24:51Speaker 6: important moment, and it could not you know it, Its
- 24:56Speaker 6: air defenses were shredded. It had no defense for an
- 25:01Speaker 6: attack on its home land. I mean, that's the ultimate
- 25:04Speaker 6: failure of any regime, in any kind of government.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yeah, uh, yeah. Trump has shown a lot of things.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Who's not as tough as we think even if you
- 25:14Speaker 1: look at Ukraine, we always started the Russian military as
- 25:17Speaker 1: a superpower, but they're struggling now for years to try
- 25:21Speaker 1: to get anywhere with this ragtag Ukrainian army. So do
- 25:24Speaker 1: you think maybe it's the same with China, that maybe
- 25:26Speaker 1: they're not the biggest, the powerful military that we think
- 25:29Speaker 1: they are.
- 25:31Speaker 6: Well, those are two very good points and if and
- 25:36Speaker 6: the President is clearly focused on both of them. So
- 25:40Speaker 6: if he can pull off something similar in each of
- 25:44Speaker 6: those situations, I mean, talk about your Pax Americana, I mean,
- 25:48Speaker 6: that would be a remarkable event. I mean, but already
- 25:52Speaker 6: what he has done in the Mid East is I think,
- 25:56Speaker 6: not just unprecedented, but even unthinkable, right that no one
- 26:01Speaker 6: thought this kind of thing was even possible before Donald
- 26:06Speaker 6: Trump got involved, and before I mean look, Nettayahu, of
- 26:11Speaker 6: course is a highly controversial and even unpopular person within Israel,
- 26:16Speaker 6: but I think their partnership has stood the test of
- 26:21Speaker 6: time and achieved great things, not only for Israel but
- 26:26Speaker 6: for the world by by cooling the hot temperatures of
- 26:33Speaker 6: Iran especially and all of the offshoots who were taking
- 26:37Speaker 6: Iranian money. That that well has dried up thanks to
- 26:42Speaker 6: the American sanctions and thanks to President Trump's attack, I
- 26:46Speaker 6: think it has it has changed the dynamic completely.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, before we run out of time, let's just
- 26:52Speaker 1: get to the mayor ole race. I noticed Mam Donni,
- 26:55Speaker 1: who's a very articulate guy, a very sharp debater, in
- 26:59Speaker 1: the last week, every time he's asked a tough question,
- 27:02Speaker 1: he goes into that word salad, not a bumbling Kamala
- 27:05Speaker 1: Harris word salad, but a skilled one. But yet the
- 27:08Speaker 1: word slid. The fact that he's being vague, not answering.
- 27:12Speaker 1: What does that tell us about his campaign?
- 27:15Speaker 6: Well, look, I think he's a very shallow man. I
- 27:17Speaker 6: mean he's not He hasn't done anything in the real world,
- 27:21Speaker 6: right except get himself in this position. I mean people
- 27:27Speaker 6: like him are a dime for two dozen in Albany, right,
- 27:32Speaker 6: the kind of shallow, inexperienced, you know, good at getting
- 27:37Speaker 6: in elected, nothing else. And I think one of the
- 27:39Speaker 6: things that's probably happened to him is he's feeling exposed
- 27:44Speaker 6: at this point. His ideas are bad ideas, they're not popular.
- 27:49Speaker 6: Anybody with any sense would tell him, you know, all
- 27:52Speaker 6: this free stuff is a disaster in the making. You
- 27:56Speaker 6: will destroy the city if you try to rein in
- 28:00Speaker 6: the police, if you hate the police, if you tell
- 28:03Speaker 6: them not to make arrests or prostitution for misdemeanors, for
- 28:08Speaker 6: all of these kinds of things, you'll have no police department.
- 28:11Speaker 6: Nobody will want to be a police officer. And I
- 28:14Speaker 6: think he's already running up against problems. And of course
- 28:17Speaker 6: there's the budget issue. If he were to do what
- 28:21Speaker 6: he's going to do, where will he get the money,
- 28:23Speaker 6: What's going to happen to the school system, what's going
- 28:25Speaker 6: to happen to safety, to how who's going to invest
- 28:30Speaker 6: in New York City? If it looks like the socialist
- 28:33Speaker 6: government is just going to confiscate everything. So I think
- 28:37Speaker 6: he's I think the longer this campaign goes on, the
- 28:40Speaker 6: worse he looks.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Well, now you got the debate coming up this week.
- 28:44Speaker 1: It'll be Thursday night. Culmos not a great debater, Mom
- 28:48Speaker 1: Donnie's pretty good. Curtis is great. Could this change the race?
- 28:51Speaker 1: Let's say Curtis land some knockout punches.
- 28:55Speaker 6: That's the potential. I think that the the most likely
- 29:01Speaker 6: potential is that Mom Donnie will be exposed as a
- 29:07Speaker 6: lightweight or as a goofy goofy inexperience know nothing lightweight. Now,
- 29:15Speaker 6: whoever does that, if it's Sliwa or if it's Cuomo,
- 29:19Speaker 6: will be the big beneficiary. Whoever can draw the stronger
- 29:23Speaker 6: contrast between themselves and Mam Donnie, I think, will be
- 29:29Speaker 6: the big beneficiary. But you're right, Mark that this could
- 29:33Speaker 6: this debate could be pivotal because early voting starts pretty soon.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Yeah, let's hope so. Well, everybody read Michael Goodwin's column yesterday.
- 29:42Speaker 1: It's New York Post. It's all his columns are up
- 29:44Speaker 1: on the New York Post website. You can go read
- 29:46Speaker 1: them all. It's every Sunday, every Wednesday in the New
- 29:49Speaker 1: York Post. Great stuff, Michael Goodwin, thanks for being with us.
- 29:53Speaker 6: Oh, it's a pleasure.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 29:54Speaker 5: Mark.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Take care. We've got a lot to get to. Hey,
- 29:57Speaker 1: we'll get back to the Mirrial race. We're going to
- 29:58Speaker 1: great detail about that, to beay and what could happen
- 30:01Speaker 1: and Eric Adams and a whole lot more coming up
- 30:04Speaker 1: on seven to ten. Wor Well, the weather is very
- 30:08Speaker 1: bad today.
- 30:09Speaker 2: You know.
- 30:09Speaker 1: There's a lot of power outages Connecticut, ten thousand people
- 30:12Speaker 1: without power, without internet, cable. New Jersey looks like about
- 30:17Speaker 1: ten thousand people, a few thousand in Long Island, Connecticut.
- 30:23Speaker 1: You got the worst power company that ever source, and
- 30:26Speaker 1: you got the worst cable company that Optimum. And apparently
- 30:29Speaker 1: people are telling me if you have Optimum, you'll get
- 30:33Speaker 1: a call or a text. You get a phone call,
- 30:36Speaker 1: it's a recording. It'll say we know that you are
- 30:38Speaker 1: without power. We were currently working on The problem is
- 30:42Speaker 1: they're getting the call like every seven minutes. People tell
- 30:45Speaker 1: me they've gotten thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, twenty calls or just
- 30:49Speaker 1: telling you they're working on it again. Optimum the worst company.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Columbus Day the parade is today. It's been canceled. It's
- 31:00Speaker 1: quite a shock to a lot of people. It's one
- 31:02Speaker 1: of the biggest parades in New York, the Columbus Day Parade.
- 31:05Speaker 1: It's a huge event. So to cancel it. The decision
- 31:09Speaker 1: was made very late last night, about ten eleven o'clock.
- 31:13Speaker 1: So they had to start calling everybody because there are
- 31:16Speaker 1: thousands of people and floats and trucks and all kinds
- 31:18Speaker 1: of it's a massive amount of people to participate in
- 31:21Speaker 1: this parade. They all had to be called told it
- 31:23Speaker 1: was canceled. You would think they could reschedule it for
- 31:27Speaker 1: another pick another day, but apparently organizers say it's not
- 31:31Speaker 1: going to be rescheduled. That's the latest word. At one
- 31:35Speaker 1: o'clock today, that's when they would have the TV coverage
- 31:37Speaker 1: of the parade. At one o'clock there will still be
- 31:40Speaker 1: TV coverage. There's no parade, but they're going to interview
- 31:43Speaker 1: the Grand Marshal, interview the honorees, interview the people in
- 31:47Speaker 1: the parade. They'll cut live to the Columbus Club which
- 31:50Speaker 1: puts on the parade, so you can watch today. You
- 31:53Speaker 1: can watch the ceremonies and all that stuff. But it's
- 31:57Speaker 1: a shame. I can't remember. I don't think it's ever
- 32:00Speaker 1: been canceled. I can remember any major parade like this canceled.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Check out my instagram you'll see the nineteen seventy nine
- 32:06Speaker 1: Columbus Day Parade, Frank Sinatra, the Grand Marshall. Hey, I
- 32:10Speaker 1: don't forget coming up at noon today, Buck Sexton and
- 32:12Speaker 1: Clay Travis. That's a very good show. You'll learn a
- 32:15Speaker 1: lot of stuff if you listen to them every day
- 32:16Speaker 1: noon to three. Then at three o'clock you got the
- 32:19Speaker 1: most listened to radio show in America. Sean Hannity got
- 32:23Speaker 1: Jesse Kelly at six, Jimmy Fayl a great show every
- 32:25Speaker 1: night at nine. I'm here ten to noon, or listen
- 32:29Speaker 1: to any time you want. Get the podcast. We'll be
- 32:31Speaker 1: back right after the news. Don't go away. Seven to
- 32:34Speaker 1: ten wor.
- 32:36Speaker 6: Two one eighty one eighty nine.
- 32:38Speaker 1: The most of blood warning is
