- 22:15walk off like that. He's right, fred, I forgot something. Thanks
- 22:21for reminding me, sweetheart. I'm much obliged you're listening to the amazing mister
- 22:32Malone. Independence Day last Wednesday was celebrated as a day of rededication to the
- 22:42principles upon which our country was founded. Each of us can play a part
- 22:47in this year of rededication to the principles of our founding fathers by taking several
- 22:51important steps. The success of the activity will depend on, first a more
- 22:56active participation by citizens in the affairs of the nation, state, and community.
- 23:00Second, an increased awareness of our individual rights and liberties. Third,
- 23:04an augmented pride in America's past and its accomplishment, and forth a wider recognition
- 23:10of the importance of making this country an example to the world of the strength
- 23:15and effectiveness of our own form of government. And now back to the amazing
- 23:19missed him alone. Well that's what I get for use in my head.
- 23:33It never fails. After Sandy threw me that kiss, I took off the
- 23:37cloud sixteen lovely up there this time of the year, there are twenty beautiful
- 23:41maidens for every man, and I'm the only man alarmed. And then someone
- 23:45went and yanked my clouds from under me. All right, from alone?
- 23:48Time to wake up? Come on, come on, Oh, I wish
- 23:52I had my camera here. I'd love to have a picture of this.
- 23:56Oh what happened? What you tell me you were? I'm not so Oh
- 24:02it's feel pretty? Who does he make us shout out? I mean that
- 24:06that's freak of red runner through your hair because you're sitting Jenna, say QUI,
- 24:10that's right, you know, stop showing off your education is actually I
- 24:14never got out of kindergartens. Well, I guess this ort to convince you
- 24:17convince me of what June Holland didn't kill Connie Burton. Now, what's one
- 24:21thing got to do with another? Well, do you think Fontane and his
- 24:22boy were to work on me? Which Fontaine is said, Fred, Yeah,
- 24:26you know him that as well as i'd like to. He's a Boston
- 24:29product. What do you know about Santry Apperenheim. Well, it's rumant that
- 24:32he's been associated with Fonteine and several banking ben't you. Well, there was
- 24:34at least one other member of the firm who Connie Burton. You're crazy,
- 24:37listen, Lieutenant. They came to Chicago expressly to find her, and it's
- 24:41your contention they did definitely pick them up and take up Rreschie Holland anything else
- 24:44you'd like, Well, are you're at it, you might as well pick
- 24:47me off too. I'm not doing anybody any good on this floor, Hey,
- 24:56sweetheart me? Yeah? How long do you intend to keep us here?
- 25:02I really don't know. I will like sweet hot he's enough. Standy,
- 25:04no name, mister Holland complaining. I never do Fontaine, That's what
- 25:07I admire about you. You always take your medicine like the little man you
- 25:11walk and Holland battle Joe, open up, sus I Hello, counselor.
- 25:18Hey, what's the idea to tell on your head? I'm doing a mind
- 25:22reading act at the Orphans. Everybody here, everybody but missus Holland. But
- 25:26I suppose you get it? Hi, I say, I think you gentlemen
- 25:29all know mister Malone. Oh boys, my, it's susy quiet all of
- 25:34a sudden, the matter of Fontaine. Don't you remember me? I don't
- 25:37believe it's has a pleasure. Oh you did? You and your friend were
- 25:40up to see me this afternoon. You remember that standing. You can't prove
- 25:42it by me. That's understandable. I've changed a little since then. Look,
- 25:45but Fenn and I got a headache in my own. Do I have
- 25:48to fit through this? How about a counselor? All right, Holland,
- 25:51indifference to you will make it short and sweet. You all know why we're
- 25:55here. I don't, okay, Fontane, we'll take us from the beginning.
- 25:57We're here to find out who's your responsible for the murder of Connie Burton.
- 26:00According to the paper iar read, it was a lady named June Holland.
- 26:03There was just enemy propaganda. They suppose you tell us the truth,
- 26:07all right, Sandy, Connie Burton came to this town a year ago from
- 26:12Boston. That's the place that's noted for beings. It has at all recent
- 26:15claim the same about fourteen months ago, seven minutes at the bank messenger company
- 26:21to earned walsht off of the coast to a million and a half and cad
- 26:23Hey remember that frame vaguely seems to me they never caught the coulfort. You
- 26:27ought to know why because I got to hunt you with a brain behind that
- 26:30operation. Thanks for the compliment. Well that's all you're going to get out
- 26:33of it. What do you mean? You got a girlfriend named Connie Burton
- 26:37you slipped to the loot and she was supposed to meet your ladys of a
- 26:40mob could divvy up. Instead she took off for Chicago. That's very interesting.
- 26:44It gets better as it goes along, because that's where Richie comes in.
- 26:47And what kind of a crack is that They hired you to find Connie,
- 26:49didn't they? So you held out on him? Why? Well,
- 26:52not that it's any of your business, but I went for the girl.
- 26:56Tell me something, Holland what does she have that got you? I mean,
- 27:00besides all the money I was there? All the money is why you
- 27:03had her kill Malone. I don't like those kind of either, though.
- 27:07I chie somehow I can't say anything's funny and murder, But then I've got
- 27:11no sense of human Okay, Lieutenant, who's all? You are? All
- 27:29right? Malone? You've played with that coffee long enough. Let's have it.
- 27:32I mean, we have to go through this same routine again. A
- 27:33white ship test might be different from all other night. Oh, it's perfectly
- 27:37simple, Lieutenant Richie Holland killed Connie. He was the one who hired that
- 27:41torpedo. How do you know they told you where to find the word to
- 27:44me, yeah, that was a guy named Harold Sherman, a philosopher type.
- 27:48Never tell me something alone. Why did Holland go back to look up
- 27:52Fontaine? That was just an act? He thought that way he removed suspicion
- 27:56from himself, and he did talk for a little proof. Well, who
- 28:00else knew where to find Connie? How about your clients, missus Howard?
- 28:03No, remember, Richie moved Connie from the Beverly right after he met her.
- 28:07Wow? What about Fontaine and Sandy Halla? Never told him? He
- 28:10pretended to pass out as soon as they left. He called his friend Hall
- 28:12and gave him his orders. Fontaine never would have killed him? Why not?
- 28:17He claimed to double cross him with that. Look, sure, that's
- 28:19why they had to keep her alive if they wanted to recover it. What
- 28:22makes you think they didn't, because they came to me later with an offer
- 28:26of a split. They thought you had all that go uh huh, But
- 28:29you're sure a Holland guy, Well, doesn't he admit it now? No?
- 28:32You mean you haven't recovered that million and a half, and it looked
- 28:34like we never will. What's the matter with that Holland? Doesn't he know
- 28:37you can't take it with here? Is you know? I told him that,
- 28:37you know what he said? Why if he can't take it with him,
- 28:41he ain't going let me talk to him, Lieutenant. Oh no,
- 28:42oh no, because you're just amazing enough to figure out how he couldn't manage
- 28:48good night cross Never hear a story of a Dixie Land band. The boy
- 29:03on trumpet was especially good. He got hot at a party one night and
- 29:07blasted himself clear out of this world. Yeah, it was dynamite. I'll
- 29:12tell you all about him next week. So when I picking up at my
- 29:15office the same time, I'll be waiting for him good night. George Peepery
- 29:21was starred as John J. Malone, with Lely Haynes as Lieutenant Brooks.
