- 0:00Speaker 1: Bruno Mars and Marry You on one of six point
- 0:03Speaker 1: seven LIGHTFM variety from the eighties through Today with Kubby Christine.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Producer Kristin as I mentioned a moment ago, it's a
- 0:09Speaker 1: very exciting day. There's no showers in the forecast. There's
- 0:12Speaker 1: no thunderstorms in the forecast. It's going to be beautiful,
- 0:16Speaker 1: sunny and high of eighty four.
- 0:17Speaker 2: What do we do with ourselves?
- 0:20Speaker 1: Yeah, we should just go outside. And could we do
- 0:22Speaker 1: the show outside?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Yeah? We should.
- 0:24Speaker 1: How weird was yesterday's weather because we were talking about
- 0:27Speaker 1: this off the air. There are moments where it was
- 0:30Speaker 1: like a monsoon and then it was blue skies and
- 0:33Speaker 1: sunny and then back to ray. Yes, it was a very.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Weird day yesterday, very strange day. I always messes things
- 0:39Speaker 2: up for travel.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You're out, Christine running around.
- 0:41Speaker 2: You told me, yeah, I was, you know, of course,
- 0:45Speaker 2: running errands because I love to do that when there's
- 0:47Speaker 2: flash floods. I my timing.
- 0:49Speaker 1: It really is funny how every time you're doing big
- 0:52Speaker 1: like returns or something. Yeah, there was always a on zoo.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I feel like those are mondays, like I get the
- 0:57Speaker 2: stuff ready over the weekend, the stuff that has to go.
- 1:00Speaker 2: And this is why I keep telling myself I'm going
- 1:02Speaker 2: to stop ordering because I hate doing the returns. But anyway,
- 1:05Speaker 2: I'm in that cycle and I'm returning stuff. And I
- 1:08Speaker 2: did notice because I went into Staples. That's where they
- 1:10Speaker 2: do the Amazon returns. There was a line that I
- 1:14Speaker 2: have never ever seen anything like this before at Staples.
- 1:18Speaker 2: So I think it's all teachers and I saw a
- 1:20Speaker 2: lot of kids and it was back to school.
- 1:22Speaker 1: That makes sense.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's happening.
- 1:25Speaker 1: And you can do returns Amazon returns to Staples too.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yes, that's my go to.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I do it a lot for my wife. You know,
- 1:31Speaker 1: I'm her errand boy.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Yes, I know I need Yeah, okay, I'll put you
- 1:35Speaker 2: to work.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I know Eric does it for you sometimes, but sometimes
- 1:37Speaker 1: he's busy.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Too, he's sleeping in. I do this stuff by.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Sleeping, but I usually go to Cole's.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Coles is a good place for returns.
- 1:45Speaker 1: But I didn't know Staples was a big return for
- 1:48Speaker 1: Maybe I did, but I don't do it often.
- 1:50Speaker 2: It's just that one's easiest for me. Coles.
- 1:52Speaker 1: That was easy.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Oh, fell right into it. Coles makes you go deep,
- 2:00Speaker 2: do you know what I mean?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Oh? Into the store. Yes, well Colls does too, because
- 2:03Speaker 1: I feel like they're trying to get you to look
- 2:05Speaker 1: around at their stuff.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Of course they are.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I mean we know there's a method to.
- 2:09Speaker 2: The absolutely and it works every time. So if I
- 2:12Speaker 2: go to Coles and they always are moving the Amazon
- 2:15Speaker 2: in goals right, that that always moves. So now I'm
- 2:19Speaker 2: going through the store navigating and it's like oh oh
- 2:22Speaker 2: oh oh, and then they give you the coupon, right,
- 2:24Speaker 2: so I might as well get that. Okay, it worked.
- 2:27Speaker 1: It's a brilliant idea what they've done. I know it's
- 2:29Speaker 1: been going on for years, but at first, I remember
- 2:31Speaker 1: when it first started. I'm like, really, you go to
- 2:33Speaker 1: another store to return oh, and then they're like, oh, okay,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the kitchen savvy the coupon, Like you mentioned.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Staples will do it too, you always pick up stuff.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Well, back to school has begun, well, you know, preparing
- 2:46Speaker 1: for it. Yeah, and I'm looking forward to having our
- 2:48Speaker 1: teachers on our regular daily basis. I know a lot
- 2:52Speaker 1: of them are them are not up right now? There's
- 2:55Speaker 1: a few out there.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And you know, and our very own Miss Karen, who
- 2:58Speaker 1: haven't shouted out a long time. She runs a daycare
- 3:00Speaker 1: she's always working. But I do feel like that our
- 3:03Speaker 1: complete audience is an intact jet until maybe September first.
- 3:07Speaker 2: They're enjoying life right now.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I know there's all right, we got three pretty cool things.

- 4:17Speaker 1: the Sweepsteaks runs through October thirty first, when the flavor
- 4:21Speaker 1: will be revealed at noon and fans can submit their

- 4:26Speaker 1: they're making this big announcement on October thirty first, yes,
- 4:29Speaker 1: could it be something like a pumpkin theme thing?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Oh, I think we have a cool thing theme going today.

- 5:41Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
- 5:44Speaker 3: expect next on light.
- 5:46Speaker 1: At them, I have incredible news for you, Christine Naggy,
- 5:49Speaker 1: what's that? I am thinking about putting you in my
- 5:52Speaker 1: top eight on my Space. Yep. For those who love
- 5:57Speaker 1: my Space back in the day, there's good news for
- 6:00Speaker 1: you here. Welcome to LIGHTFM. By the way, it's Cuby
- 6:02Speaker 1: and Christine. Producer Christen just handed me the story. A
- 6:06Speaker 1: relaunch of my Space is in the works. Brothers Chris
- 6:10Speaker 1: and Tim Vanderhook, who acquired MySpace for thirty five million
- 6:14Speaker 1: in twenty eleven, have announced plans to bring it back.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Really if you go to MySpace dot com right now,
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's more of a music site, it is, yeah, and
- 6:24Speaker 1: it does it looks nothing like it did back in
- 6:27Speaker 1: the day, but there is no specific timeline or details.
- 6:31Speaker 1: They have not shared that yet, but a rumor is
- 6:34Speaker 1: that you could get your old page back and really
- 6:37Speaker 1: bling up your page again. You could do the top eight.
- 6:41Speaker 1: MySpace launched them.
- 6:42Speaker 2: What it looks like. I really don't really.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it launched in O three. It was the leading
- 6:47Speaker 1: social network until Facebook overtook it in two thousand and eight.
- 6:51Speaker 1: But yeah, you could do a lot more with your page. Facebook,
- 6:55Speaker 1: you know, it's pretty much everyone has the same page. Yeah,
- 6:59Speaker 1: but on my Space, I don't know if you remember,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you could bling it out. You could add I don't know, glitter.
- 7:04Speaker 1: People go to your page, glitter would fly around. You
- 7:08Speaker 1: could put a certain.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Song on there that you're oh, yeah, that's right.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You fit your mood for the dinner of the week. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:13Speaker 1: you could be cranking up tailor.
- 7:15Speaker 2: There was a lot about your mood, right, you would
- 7:16Speaker 2: put feeling that day and.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Happy said good. Right. Yeah, So anyway, look for my
- 7:23Speaker 1: space to relaunch and you may be uh, you know,
- 7:26Speaker 1: getting your page back and doing the top eight thing,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and but do we really need this? No? I want
- 7:31Speaker 1: to think about it. I wouldn't mind looking at my
- 7:34Speaker 1: page where was last that?
- 7:36Speaker 4: Wow?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Yeah, like going up to the attic and looking at
- 7:38Speaker 1: old photos.
- 7:39Speaker 2: It is it's frozen in time.
- 7:40Speaker 1: But that's about it. I don't want something else to maintain.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I can't keep up with anything else. I know, I like,
- 7:46Speaker 2: I got. I think I've gotten really addicted to Instagram,
- 7:50Speaker 2: right but stop there?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Oh he need one? Yeah? Yeah? Hit us up at
- 7:54Speaker 1: four four three six three. I'm kind of curious. Would
- 7:56Speaker 1: you be into my space relaunching? And what do you
- 8:00Speaker 1: the most? Facebook? Instagram? We're at four four three six three.
- 8:04Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine in the Great music Variety you
- 8:07Speaker 3: expect next on Light at Them.
- 8:09Speaker 1: We talk about names. It's Cubby and Christine and Light
- 8:12Speaker 1: of Amazon producer Kristen three names right there, Let's dive
- 8:15Speaker 1: more in a name, shall we?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Sure?
- 8:17Speaker 1: All right?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Because you know we're seeing a return of a certain name.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Gilmore Girls has taken off once again, right, It's like
- 8:25Speaker 2: been rediscovered and people are really loving the show. So
- 8:28Speaker 2: twenty six after twenty six years after Gilmore Girls first
- 8:31Speaker 2: hit TV screens. One of its most famous names is
- 8:35Speaker 2: making a comeback, and that's Laura li It's pretty name,
- 8:39Speaker 2: it's a beautiful name. So we're seeing a lot of it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: According to Social Security Administration, that name has moved up
- 8:47Speaker 2: the charts, like crazy Laura Lai is becoming really popular.
- 8:51Speaker 2: And it made me start to think, like, who do
- 8:53Speaker 2: you know that's been named after an actor or an
- 8:56Speaker 2: actress or a TV character, TB character. Yeah, Like, do you.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Know anybody named Gilligan?
- 9:02Speaker 2: You know what it don't? Do you know the Skipper?
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't you know there's a by the way,
- 9:09Speaker 1: there's a Rory in Gilmore Girls, there's a in case
- 9:13Speaker 1: that's another name that is.
- 9:14Speaker 2: That becoming popular too?
- 9:15Speaker 1: Or I thought about Rory McElroy, the the golfer, right,
- 9:19Speaker 1: But what else.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I've used like TV and character names for my pets.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I had a Dexter okay, so I love Dexter. Dexter
- 9:30Speaker 2: on Showtime, by the way, that.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Came back, you recommend so so good.
- 9:34Speaker 2: And then a friend of mine, our friend, you know,
- 9:36Speaker 2: Greg Charles, Caroline's the publicist. He is named his He
- 9:41Speaker 2: said his mom loved Gregory pecking Old School, one of
- 9:45Speaker 2: the classic actors, and so he got his name our.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Very young producer Kristen. Apparently Kristen came from Christian Slater.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Kristin was meant to be a boy, right, yes, and
- 9:55Speaker 2: then this girl popped up Christian named Kristen.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yeah. But I wonder, like you know, hit us up
- 10:03Speaker 1: at four four three six three? Are you named after
- 10:05Speaker 1: a TV actor or a TV character? Is there is
- 10:09Speaker 1: there a Chandler out there? Is there a Phoebe out there?
- 10:13Speaker 2: Oh? Right? Oh my goodness? Yeah?
- 10:15Speaker 1: Is there?
- 10:15Speaker 2: Right?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Maybe maybe your parents were Three's companies fans and you're
- 10:19Speaker 1: named Chrissy your Janet? All right, I'm curious to see
- 10:22Speaker 1: what kind of text we made.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that'll be fun.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Four four three six three. You have the headlines coming up.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Next, right, yes, and I also have the personality traits
- 10:30Speaker 2: that can help you be a happy person.
- 10:32Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
- 10:35Speaker 3: expect next on light at Them.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Six fifty eight and everything you need to know.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Here's Christine Nake and good morning Covey.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Well.
- 10:41Speaker 2: At least twelve people were injured because of a fire
- 10:44Speaker 2: at the Astro Place subway train station. This affects the
- 10:48Speaker 2: four and the six train service. Seven MTA workers five
- 10:52Speaker 2: firefighters were hospitalized. And that fire broke out after two
- 10:56Speaker 2: in the morning on a vacuum train which goes into
- 10:59Speaker 2: clear the debris, all the traggy, and.
- 11:01Speaker 1: The footage was crazy like.
- 11:03Speaker 2: All this a lot of smoke billowing up. Yes, but
- 11:05Speaker 2: fortunately they think everybody's gonna be okay. President Trump saying
- 11:09Speaker 2: Iran and other Middle Eastern countries urged him to call
- 11:12Speaker 2: off a planned major strike as diplomatic efforts continue. He
- 11:16Speaker 2: expects the Straight of Horror Moves to fully reopen by
- 11:19Speaker 2: today while negotiations continue over Iran's nuclear program. Microsoft is
- 11:26Speaker 2: warning about hotel Wi Fi, saying Russian hackers are using
- 11:30Speaker 2: phony sign in pages to break into accounts. It says
- 11:34Speaker 2: the operation is nicknamed Captive Crunch and involves a widespread
- 11:38Speaker 2: compromise of Wi Fi networks at hospitality related organizations. And
- 11:43Speaker 2: we had no winner in the power ball last night.
- 11:46Speaker 2: The jackpot was is now going to jump to seven
- 11:49Speaker 2: hundred and eighty six million dollars. Wow, So you've got another.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Chance, Bobby. By the time they do the whole thing.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yep, that is coming up on Wednesday Tomorrow Night Sports
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yankees lost to the Cardinal thirteen to seven. And the
- 12:02Speaker 2: personality traits that make for the happiest people. So hopefully
- 12:05Speaker 2: you have these traits people who are more patient, trusting, altruistic, cooperative,
- 12:11Speaker 2: and risk taking tense to report feeling happier.
- 12:15Speaker 1: All right, we're all pretty happy here. I think I
- 12:17Speaker 1: do it all. But risk taking.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I gotta say the risk taking.
- 12:20Speaker 1: That one's a little You don't have to be perfect,
- 12:22Speaker 1: you know, if you do a majority of the things
- 12:24Speaker 1: you mentioned, a good thing.
- 12:25Speaker 2: You have to get on a roller coaster, jump out
- 12:28Speaker 2: of a plane.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, any of that. You got a roller
- 12:31Speaker 1: coaster fan, are you?
- 12:32Speaker 2: I can't do anything. I get motion sick, just in a.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Cab more Covey and Christine and the great music variety
- 12:39Speaker 3: you expect next on light at them.
- 12:41Speaker 1: So yeah. August, which is kind of like Summer's version
- 12:46Speaker 1: of the Sunday Scary.
- 12:47Speaker 2: It is, it's the August Scaries.
- 12:50Speaker 1: There is a thing called the August scaries.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Mental health experts are now recognizing it. It is a
- 12:55Speaker 2: real thing. They said, it's like the Sunday scaries. You know,
- 12:57Speaker 2: before you get back into the work week, and you
- 12:59Speaker 2: get that anxiety, even if you love your job. It
- 13:03Speaker 2: is stole a big week ahead of you said, a
- 13:05Speaker 2: lot of people are starting to feel that summertime sadness.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Your favorite song one of.
- 13:09Speaker 2: My favorite songs, and also also August Taylor's song, Oh Okay,
- 13:15Speaker 2: She's got a really good one, Covey. We need that
- 13:16Speaker 2: as well.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Well.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Experts say our brains prefer predictability, so the thought of
- 13:21Speaker 2: returning you to school schedules and busier work days and
- 13:24Speaker 2: shorter daylight hours can create anxiety, even if these are
- 13:29Speaker 2: positive changes, even if it's stuff you like and you're
- 13:31Speaker 2: looking forward to. It's a change. And social media users
- 13:34Speaker 2: have been describing August as the longest Sunday ever.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Well, I have to say, I remember getting the August scaries,
- 13:43Speaker 1: but it was more Labor Day.
- 13:44Speaker 2: It was scary, yes, and it was about going back
- 13:46Speaker 2: to school, right.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Right, yeah, because back in my day it was mainly
- 13:50Speaker 1: after Labor Day we started. Yeah, now it starts like
- 13:53Speaker 1: in late August for our area, I mean already in Georgia.
- 13:56Speaker 2: But right, but I would start to feel it like
- 14:00Speaker 2: it was coming to an end, right, Like I would
- 14:01Speaker 2: feel like once it flipped to August, it's like, oh,
- 14:03Speaker 2: it's going to end. And once the commercials start coming
- 14:05Speaker 2: on TV for back to school. And I told you
- 14:08Speaker 2: yesterday I was at Staples and I couldn't believe the line.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I've never seen it like that, and it was all
- 14:15Speaker 2: back to school. I think we had teachers in line
- 14:17Speaker 2: and we had students getting prepared and it was like
- 14:19Speaker 2: it's on.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Can I play you a piece of audio? That gave
- 14:23Speaker 1: me anxiety? Yeah, it was a very good thing going
- 14:26Speaker 1: on TV. But it would also make me realize school
- 14:29Speaker 1: was probably a couple of days away. Of course, you
- 14:31Speaker 1: know we're talking about here we go. I think they
- 14:40Speaker 1: start talking here, but this is the opening of the
- 14:44Speaker 1: Jerry Lewis MDA telephonion.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yes, oh oh hi, I was wrong.
- 14:55Speaker 1: And now I would be blown away that this guy,
- 15:00Speaker 1: Jerry Lewis would be on TV all night long. Yes,
- 15:02Speaker 1: on Labor Day weekend.
- 15:03Speaker 2: He was up for twenty four hours.
- 15:05Speaker 1: And then the bow tie would get all loose.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 15:08Speaker 1: They have the toe board. You've been beautiful and so
- 15:10Speaker 1: has the world. Look at those numbers anyway, that's him
- 15:17Speaker 1: doing the tow board.
- 15:17Speaker 2: But did you always try and get your parents to
- 15:19Speaker 2: call I was you know, yeah, ask my mom, like,
- 15:21Speaker 2: can I call? Can I call?
- 15:22Speaker 1: I wanted to see my name on the bottom, and
- 15:24Speaker 1: they did a couple of times.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Oh you did you saw your name?
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yes?
- 15:27Speaker 2: Wow, national right on the local feed.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, but that brought back that was Labor Day weekend.
- 15:33Speaker 1: School would often start a couple of days after that.
- 15:36Speaker 2: So right after that, that meant I had to start
- 15:38Speaker 2: going to bed.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Well, experts recommend that you focus on what's ahead, maintaining
- 15:42Speaker 2: healthy routines and planning fun fall activities to ease through
- 15:47Speaker 2: the transition.
- 15:48Speaker 1: All right, give us a text if you think you
- 15:50Speaker 1: have the August scaries, It's okay.
